Yesterday I listened to fine line from top to bottom to celebrate her birthday and I am once again pissed at grammys for snubbing her. Like FL was one of the best albums in 2019-20 and it deserved a nomination for AOTY(we know nothing could beat folklore but FL deserved to be on the list). I don't know how it only got 1 Grammy like........a lot of people found solace in her and she deserved big 4 nominations .

our vibes are so aligned, i listened to it from top to bottom yesterday too! many of the songs are really never out of rotation, but it had been a bit since i'd listened to the album all the way through, and yet again i was struck by what a brilliant record it is. just perfectly crafted from top to bottom; depicts a whole emotional journey; meaningful/insightful lyricism along with the complete bops; rich, quirky, interesting instrumentation/production (the glockenspiel in golden! the submarine and the bass in adore you! the horns in ws! the gospel choir in lights up! the harmonies in cherry! the piano line in falling! the cello in tbsl and when he blows out the match! the dulcimer he learned to play for canyon moon! i could go on!); impeccable vocals. my mom and i were talking about falling and how affecting it still is last week (and how beautiful, especially on headphones), and honestly it's true of fine line as a whole. to begin with golden, which is actual sunshine captured in music, to close with fine line being such a powerful track, both aching and cathartic. the way we'll be alright ended up carrying so many of us.

something i noticed looking at some posts/tweets for fine line yesterday was exactly what you said - so many people found solace in that record, it's like it created a safe, comforting place for us to go and spend some time when the world was heavy. as much as i can't imagine getting through 2020 without folklore, i can't without fine line either (and fine line was already really important to me, even at the end of 2019, the events of 2020 just added depth to that). folklore is a masterpiece and changed the trajectory of taylor's career in some ways, and it's so defining as a piece of art and culture, but that doesn't lessen fine line's worth! i genuinely love hs3 and find it a joy to listen to, but there's something so special and meaningful in fine line. i totally agree it merited more recognition. as his career grows, i wonder if it will be re-evaluated with time, like red has been for taylor (even before red tv). (it's a little wild that its grammy award came for arguably the weakest song on the record, even though it was the most popular. and i am by no means against watermelon sugar, i love it, but! the album is much more than that). the grammys are inexplicable and very political at times, and there's not necessarily rhyme or reason to what they decide is "deserving," as cool as it is to see our faves be nominated/win, the ultimate arbiters of how valuable any music is comes down to what it meant and continues to mean to us. that's the thing i think harry is aware of too, and why he celebrates it with us (the album is yours, i am yours; i love you every day, but especially today; pink and blue forever!), because he realizes how dear it is and that it was a real light amidst a lot of uncertainty and darkness. i'll never forget that.

ok! this au uses my su redesign aspects, such as white physically creating the other diamonds + them having parts of her body (yellow and blue having two of her arms, and pink having her lower legs.) white made them because she was lonely and wanted to have gems more like her, and lovingly gave parts of herself to create the other diamonds in this sort of motherly sacrifice. pink was "conceived" at the same time as blue and yellow but incubated far too long and came out teeny-tiny. white still has hints of color because she did not drain herself as wholly.

this homeworld has a much smaller empire. they inhabit planets with no life and utilize a method of gem creation on lifebearing planets that brings much less stress to the planet- small, specialized kindergartens in less habitable portions of the world. Blue's job as a diplomat is much more important, as she works out deals with the inhabitants of the planet in exchange for them to use their planet's resources. she also sings for her court, and along with pink helps to keep the gems of homeworld happy. Yellow has a greater focus on construction of buildings on new colonies, and is a fantastic building planner, but still is the leader of the gem military. she prefers using brute force on lesser lifeforms as a last resort. when the military has to be used, she dutifully cleans up the aftermath, spending days carefully repairing shattered gems. White oversees all gem creation, and works as the head of the expansion of gem technology. by extension, she is in charge of every lifebearing planet's kindergarten. she has hundreds of labratories that she loves to visit and spends the most time on homeworld, besides pink. she takes it upon herself to keep her fellow diamonds happy and adores them. Pink's primary duty is to keep the gems of the empire in good spirits with her parties. she's a fantastic decorator as well, and there isn't a single colony that hasn't been touched by her creative eye. homeworld sports grand gardens made up of plants that pink has been able to hybridize with her own essence to make them hardy.

oh, and another thing, on homeworld cross-gem fusions and defects are allowed to exist, as long as they continue to serve the empire.

the personality changes in this au... hmm.. well, obviously pink gets to be her happy, fun-loving self. she's a bit spoiled and lacks some empathy, but she's very childlike and does not have outbursts because she feels loved, respected and heard. blue diamond and white diamond are both very motherly and adoring. blue is soft-spoken and very concerned about the well-being of her court, often asking how they are- i like to imagine her lifting up a gem on a cloud and booping them gently. she also travels on her clouds! white herself does struggle a bit with over-infantalizing her gems, including the diamonds. she just sees everyone as so small and sweet, even blue and yellow. she loves to pinch their cheeks and squish their faces. she also has this sort of "oh, mother can do that for you!" energy. also, dramatically goes everywhere with her arms out so her cape floats everywhere. yellow is jovial and loud, much like pink. she loves a good joke, and she's easily entertained. she has this habit of picking up the gems she speaks to to lift them to eye level, and despite her huge size she has a very delicate and precise hand. she also tends to get a little pouty when she's disappointed.

So, Since The Main 8 Cast Have Been Revealed For The WitchCraftSMP Gemcyt AU, I Suppose It's About Time For A Summary Post!

If You Don't Know What I'm Talking About, Look At The Tags Of This Post And/Or Go To My Blog And Check For Those Tags Before Clicking Read-More. That'll Show You The Progress So-Far! Also, I Will Try Writing The Below Without My Usual Typing Style As To Make It Easier To Read ^v^

● Starting Up, A Height Lineup!

In order from Shortest to Tallest, we have:

Citrine/Eloise, GoldPearl/Shelby, Jade/Scott, LapisLazuli/Prismarina, GrapeAgate/Lauren, CherryBlossomJasper/Cupquake, Amethyst/Cleo, & Spessartine/Joey

Eloise & Joey were purposefully placed next to eachother in the heights lineup as to showcase the height range of the whole cast. I also tried making sure that no two colored gems were next to eachother as to make it more apparent where everyone starts and ends. As shown with Citrine & Spessartine, I was not always able to do this ^v^"

● Next Up, Worldbuilding!

This AU takes place in a similar worldbuilding to Steven Universe. With the Diamond Authority and Gem Hierarchy System, including it's stance on 'Off-Color' Gems. Off-Color Gems are basically the outcasts of society, cross-gem fusions, flukes, and rebels fall into this category. If a gem isn't useful or otherwise challenges authority, they are Off-Color.

The AU's worldbuilding has everyone, through one way or another, end up on the same rebel planet. On this planet, they are hosting a competition between their resident 'Off-Colors' to showcase they can be useful outside the boundaries of which they were created. Pearls don't have to be servants, nor do Agates have to lead. They can choose their own fate and thrive! If a gem likes their role, that's fine! But if they don't, they shouldn't be labeled a fluke simply because they long for change.

Everyone's Off-Color traits are explained and elaborated on in their own posts, so look to those if you'd like more information. I also plan to write some stories about how everyone got onto the rebel planet from their life before. Some starting at the beginning of their life, others starting at whenever they gained their off-colored trait.

● Fusions!

I already have a few fusions between the cast members planned out, however I will wait to post anything for one reason, You All! Same with the base Gemcyt AU that started this all, I want all of you to be able to draw your own fusions! Whether they become canon or not, whether I take inspiration or not (I will ask if I can before tho if I do), I want to see y'all's creativity with these gem-ified block people!

● What About The Others?

The Others, in this case, refer to people like Bertha, Mertha, The Supreme Witch, Milo, & ect. For now, I have yet to make them, however (for the majority) I already have gems picked out for them. I just gotta draw them.

● Extras?

Extras! The main thing I want to talk about first is that, while I may change some/alot of backstory to fit into the worldbuilding, the character dynamics themselves will remain the same. Lapis Lazuli & Gold Pearl will remain friends just like Prismarina & Shelby, the same applies for Amethyst & Jade / Cleo & Scott. Lapis & Amethyst will have a rivalry just like Pris & Cleo did. And, of course, Grape Agate AKA Lauren will likely have a strained dynamic with Spessartine Garnet AKA Joey.

Another thing is that, while the art above may seem very simplistic, I mainly did so as to make color-palettes easier to replicate! I might draw more detailed versions of them another time, but for now, the blank colors with minimal shading is good for color-picking & quick refrence!

Yellow and Blue designs for Clown Court AU 💔 not entirely happy with how Blue came out so I'll probably be revisiting 😭 but I had the concept for them first... Two ballerinas ! Info n thoughts under the cut 💘

They dance together for their performances... in all likelihood they've probably fused together a Bunch of times 😭 "cross-gem" fusions are probably totally fine with Pink's Homeworld

They haven't had any time to process their grief after White's shattering. The show must go on!

Performances used to star all 4 diamonds. Yellow and Blue as dancers, Pink as both director and the harlequin protagonist, and White as the pierrot. With White gone Pink no longer joins them, leaving these two to perform on their own.... They're overworked and the quality of their shows has gone down over the few millennia since then.

Yellow's design was inspired by historical josei shoujo masc girls ie; Lady Oscar from Rose of Versailles or Ermine from Sword of Paros. Juri Arisugawa. That type of girl 💔💔

After drawing these I found myself wishing I gave Blue a Flamenco dress instead of a typical ballet one 😭 but I'll try it for next time. I want her to look..... Expensive. And I need her to look crazier 💔💔 the eye shape is good but I need like runny messy makeup

How many works do you have on AO3?

14 total, 4 on my gerryrigged account.

What’s your total A03 word count?

27,558. A good number of my pieces are quite short ficlets. I don't have a big portfolio of work - I've been in fandom for quite a while, but almost entirely as a lurker. For a handful of years, almost all of my writing output was in RP.

What fandoms do you write for?

Right now? Just DC, mostly Bats for the time being. Previously, hockey rpf, Star Wars, K, X-Men: First Class, and One Piece.

What are your top five fics by kudos?

hgjkldsf, most of these are on my other account, but:

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I want to, because commenters are lovely and I appreciate them so much! And I try to, I just...don't always succeed >_>💧 or, looking at it from another perspective, I'm just very behind on them!

I adore people's comments and re-read them with fair frequency, and I do love interacting - but I also tend to get over-excited/anxious and then end up just turning the comments over and over in my little paws admiringly like sparkly gems instead of replying. Or, for another example, I got a bunch of lovely comments on my timeloop dicktim fic, but haven't been able to psyche myself up to reply because I still haven't been able to get out the promised follow-up fic, ha 🙃

What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh, probably Hold It Up To The Mirror. I left poor Dick and Tim in a really fucked up situation there, and it would absolutely have to get worse before it got any better. I do envision it getting better, though - despite where I end fic sometimes, I'm a sucker for eventual happy endings, especially for my OTPs. so I'm usually imagining a future path where things improve, even if it would be a (very) rough road to get there.

freefall (and the aftermath thereof) also left off on a pretty angsty note, but I give the edge to Hold It Up To The Mirror because of how bleak it is.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'm not sure how to quantify this, lol, I would say most of my happy endings are pretty happy. For fluff factor, maybe my latest, let your heart be light, because that one just revels in the shmoop.

Do you get hate on your fic?

Not so far - fingers crossed it stays that way!

Do you write smut?

Yes, sort of? Like. I have written it, and I would certainly like to write more. But I consider myself very amateurish/unskilled at it, so I'm embarrassed of it and mostly it doesn't see the light of day. Guess I need to spend more time practicing! 😅

Do you write crossovers?

Nope, not a huge fan of writing crossovers or fusions myself, though I'll read them occasionally. When it comes to fandoms, I tend to only have one hyperfixation at a time, and mixing two different ones doesn't really appeal, at least in terms of what I myself am driven to write.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of - fingers also crossed it stays that way.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't think so? It's been requested before, but I never saw the results XD

Have you ever co-written a fic?

Not so far, though I'd like to! The closest I've gotten would be writing out closely collaborated scenes in RP, which can in some cases read like a fic.

What‘s your all-time favourite ship?

Oh no, if I was forced to consider all of my fandoms at once, I'd have no idea. For DC, it's definitely DickTim. (It was Tim/Kon before this most recent immersion in the DC fandom, when I started to dig into Bat comics more holistically and DickTim reared its head up and swallowed me whole.)

What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Hm, I don't know that there are any in particular that I would firmly put on the shelf. The ones that I more generally doubt are all the ambitious long-fic ideas >_> because I suck at those. But they still exist as goals of mine, so I won't jinx any of them here!

What are your writing strengths?

.......Humor, maybe? Oh, I've been told I'm good at conveying tone and character voice through prose, and at putting together memorable or hard-hitting turns of phrase. Possibly structuring emotional arcs? 🤔

What are your writing weaknesses?

Elaborate run-on sentences. Descriptions, especially of setting details such as locations, clothing, etc. (hence why these things are often missing in my fics, lmfao). Purple prose. Over-editing. Overuse of implication/ambiguity/metaphor to the detriment of clarity. Stringing multiple scenes together, scene transitions in general, over-arching storyline plotting and all the other difficult parts of writing longer more plotty pieces. The 'stage'-blocking of physical movement, and how much/little of it needs to be described to be effective. Research - I am way too prone to just handwaving and going ehhhh, something something fill in the blank here, you know what I mean >.>

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done this a couple times, but usually only short lines. Sometimes it's for effect - the POV character might not understand the language, so it's as impenetrable to them as to most readers. Or it's a line most English-speakers would be able to parse due to cognates/related languages, but it's just funnier or feels better in the other language. Or in like anime/manga fandoms, it might be a line in Japanese that most fans/readers would already be familiar with. Usually though I've just been Google translating, and have been kindly corrected on grammar etc. in the comments before, haha.

First fandom you wrote for?

well. that would be in like. middle school lol oh god. I think it was a Sailor Moon/Gundam Wing crossover hghkldjfskl. That or Dragonball Z. Thankfully my recollection of my FF.net account name has been lost to the sands of time.

Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

hm. I don't have strong feelings on this; I usually end up looking at my past fic with a critical eye. Maybe the little gen Dick & Tim ficlet I have on my other account? I wouldn't say it's my best, by any means, but that one kind of wrote itself in a fever state when I hadn't written anything in literal years, so I'm very fond of it for breaking through a creative block and being my first toe into writing for the DC fandom proper.

The Mysterious Axe Pokemon. Starxure is a Water/Dragon type. It swims through the water slicing any prey that cross its path. The gem on its head acts as an eye, while also sending out unknown frequencies into space.

A gems djinn: chapter 7

"So..." Connie rubbed her nape bashfully, "If you guys have no reservations...I kind of was hoping to stay here with you." Connie asked Amethyst, Garnet, and Pearl.

Pearl stayed silent at first as she folded her arms. "It's not my choice. I don't live here," she spoke, her voice full of mistrust but a bit of guilt. "It's up to you two." She turned to Amethyst and Garnet.

"Well, if that's the case. The little fusion said, jumping and catching Connie in a glomp. "I say stay, Nini." Garnet smiled up at the Djinn.

"Well, not like we don't have the room or you don't have a room yourself. We can change it to be more than a chest temple," Amethyst stated before joining Garnet in hugging the Djinn. The three friends reunited after centuries.

"They're really close, aren't they?" Steven stated, looking at the three.

"They were old friends, hell, Kahanni...Connie and her parents were basically being crescent gems themselves," Onyx stated with a sad smile, "except for not being gems, but you know being friends and all."

Steven hummed at that before stretching. "Guess we should make our way home then."

"Aww, you don't wanna stay for a bit, Stevie!?" Amethyst asked, rubbing his head like an aunt or a big sister, "Today was a victory for the Crescent gems. We should celebrate."

Pearl hummed, unsure of that as well, thinking that the return of Connie was a bad omen. 'Who sent Kanaraka after Connie's chest, and who even knew about her,' Pearl wondered internally as she rubbed her chin, her black sclera and lightly gray Iris eyes narrowing a bit.

"Well, we can't ignore the fact that those Kanaraka was after Connie's chest," Pearl finally spoke up, her tone still reserved. "We need to be cautious. We don't know who is behind this or what their motives are."

Amethyst and Garnet exchanged glances, understanding the gravity of Pearl's words.

"You're right, Pearl," Amethyst acknowledged. "We can't let our guard down just because of Connie's back. We need to be vigilant and protect her."

Connie pursed her lips in a thin line of annoyance. "Hey now, I'm quite the powerful Djinn, you know? I don't need to be put under house arrest."

"No one was thinking that, Nini." Garnet assured her before turning to Pearl and Amethyst. "Right?"

Amethyst nodded, rubbing the small gem head. "Of course not. Though, Ni' here been out of commission for the better part of a millennia. She needs to accumulate to this new world."

Onyx looked at Pearl, who gave a curt nod before facing away and seeing a slight hidden sneer on her face. She sighed, knowing her old friend well enough that she could see what was going through Pearl's mind.

'Of course, she would be suspicious.' Onyx rubbed her eyes, only feeling the conversation that Pearl would want to have with her over Kahanni... Connie's return and Steven's new role as her 'lamp'.

Onyx looked over at the Djinn and how she was sitting down with crossed legs as Garnet, Amethyst, and Steven spoke with her, explaining what a tablet was seeing the Djinn's eyes widened in amazement. It was difficult to see anything more than a curious nineteen-year-old girl.

'Definitely hard to see her as an envoy for the Arcana.' Onyx thought as Pearl tapped her shoulder, getting her attention.

"Can I talk to you?"

Onyx pursed her lips, humming in slight discomfort. Pearl's tact could still use work after all these years.

Onyx nodded before turning to the four younger residents. "Steven, gonna speak with Pearl a bit before going. Be ready by the time I'm back."

"Come on, Ma. I'm Eighteen, you can trust -"

"Not today I can... remember, your new bond is still very unstable, and the increase need to be with Connie it brings," Onyx reminded her son, causing Steven to blush a bit. "Besides, school starts back in a couple of days. Take the time to relax and study a bit during your last days of spring break."

"Mom, I'm fine, and I-"

"Study!?" Connie called with a smile as she changed into a blue wisp and floated from Amethyst and Garnet to appear behind Steven, hugging his neck gently as she hovered behind him, "Studying what?" She asked, an excitable and ravenous look in her eyes.

"You ok?" Steven questioned, chuckling a bit at the Djinn's excitement

"I love learning new things!" Connie all but bounced in mid-air, "I've been dead for so long, and despite our bond giving me enough knowledge to operate socially, I still want to learn about this new modern world."

"Maybe I should let you go to class in my place then." Steven joked with a laugh while Connie's eyes widened at the thought, a look of excitement on her face.

"I can do that!" Connie nodded, " I can shapeshift into you and go in your place."

"Wait, can you do that?"

" I'm a Djinn, I'm magic! That ain't nothing!" Connie smiled.

"I'll never miss a day again," Steven whispered in shock.

"You can up your Crescent gem training while Connie goes to class in your place," Garnet added excitedly.

Amethyst smirked, saying nothing as she rubbed her chin in thought. "I mean.. that's not a bad idea... Would definitely help you get more use to the magic side of the world if you had a few more field missions and excursions."

"Hey, no. Don't even think about it, Steven," Onyx chuckled, her heart warming at the sight of their antics. "Don't renege on our deal now, Nero," Onyx reminded her son using his middle name.

"You do remember our deal, right?"

"Yes, mom." Steven sighed, "Have to balance normal life and magic life."

"and." Onyx urged her son, who muttered the next part, "I can't hear you."

"gotta maintain at least a B average in school."

"right and you can't maintain that if Connie goes for you." Onyx gently reprimanded him. "Besides, wouldn't you want to impress her with your knowledge and dedication."

"I guess that's true."

"Awww!" Connie moaned disappointed, pouting a bit, "How am I supposed to learn about this new world?"

"Same as you always did. Exploration and discovery, sure Garnet and Amethyst would love to show you around." Ony smirked as the two gems nodded

"Me too," Steven announced, squeezing the Djinn's hand.

Connie giggled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Fine, fine," she said, releasing her hold on Steven. "I'll let you have your precious school days. But you better teach me everything you learn!"

"Deal!" Steven exclaimed, a broad smile spreading across his face.

"Just don't forget your studies," Onyx reminded him again, "last semester or not, you can't just jump to being Connie's full-time tutor."

"Aw, come on, Mom," Steven protested. "It'll be fun! And Connie's really smart. Sure, she could teach me a lot as well, and we could teach each other a lot."

"I'm sure she could, and you two will." Onyx agreed with a nod. "But that's not the point. Connie needs to learn how to live in this world without relying on you." Onyx relented a bit. "and you both gotta learn to live with your new pact you two are in, making sure you balance your individuality and independence while nurturing your bond naturally." She reminded the two.

"We know." Steven and Connie spoke simultaneously before looking at each other.

"You're doing it again."

"Me, you're talking when I'm talking."

"See!"

Steven and Connie glared at each other before their eyes narrowed, chuckling and giggling, respectively.

As they continued to chat and laugh, Onyx smiled at the sight of her son and his newfound companion. Despite the lingering concerns about Connie's return, she felt a sense of hope and optimism.

She turned her attention to Pearl, who was waiting patiently by the door. "Let's go."

As they stepped outside, the sky was ablaze with a thousand stars. The air was crisp and cold, a welcome respite from the warmth of the house.

"Pearl," Onyx began, "I know you have your doubts about Connie's return. But she's changed, Pearl. She's not the same naive girl she was centuries ago."

Pearl remained silent, her arms crossed tightly over her chest.

"I understand that you're worried about Steven," Onyx continued. "But we need to trust that he knows what he's doing. He's not a child anymore. He's growing into a young man, and he's quite capable as he showed today and time again and again." Onyx proudly stated.

"but"

Pearl's lips parted slightly, but she said nothing.

"We can't keep him sheltered forever," Onyx said. "He needs to experience the world and make his own decisions. And he's doing so in a fantastic way. Today events alone are a testament to that."

"You mean when he all but chewed us out."

"He was going to attack me while we were in the room. After seeing me 'kill' Connie." Onyx told Pearl, rubbing her, "he has definitely harnessed his power as Connie's lamp."

Pearl's gaze softened slightly. "I suppose you're right," she said. "But I still have my reservations."

"I know," Onyx said. "But I think we need to give Connie a chance. She deserves it."

Pearl nodded slowly. "Very well," she said. "But I'll be keeping a close eye on her."

Onyx smiled. "As expected from Gracia Forest's Black Shogun."

Peael let a small snicker, "The old epitaph, trying to butter me up?"

"Just a bit." Onyx teased as They walked in silence for a few moments before Pearl spoke again.

"So," she said. "What's the plan, we can't ignore the fact that Kanaraka was after Connie's chest," Pearl spoke up, her tone still reserved. "We need to be cautious. We don't know who is behind this or what their motives are.

"That's true," Onyx said. "We need to start searching some of our channels, maybe their loose lips that are willing to spill some information."

"agreed I'll put out some feelers," Pearl said. "but we need to be careful. I doubt it was the Kanaraka plan. "

"Right, they are usually the odd-jobbers of the magic community," Onyx said. "Someone knew about Connie's chest and sent someone to get it. We should assume they knew about Connie and the Djinn as well."

Pearl nodded, "I hope this doesn't turn out to be something world-changing."

Onyx's mind raced, considering the implications of Pearl's words. She hated the thought but the Kanaraka's presence could very well be a sign of an advent, of something momentous that would affect not only her son and Connie (while paramount in her mind), but so too was the well-being of the entire magical community.

'I hope I'm being paranoid.' Onyx thought as they headed back to the beach house, hearing the joyful commotion as they opened the door.

Meanwhile, on a city street a ways from the beach house, A Kanaraka was struggling to get away from her attacker. Stumbling into an alley and leaning on a green wall. Their body littered with burns as they heard footsteps coming.

"STOP!" They pleaded as saw their attacker, "Let me leave, I Finder, beseech you!" the Kanaraka pleaded.

"Hmm? Finder what are you looking for in my city. And why do you smell of magic, not of earth?"

"I...that Is to say..."

"You were fighting those aliens weren't you, that how you got those cuts and whip marks to think I'd be cleaning up after them."

"I....we were sent to capture the half-breed!"

The attacker let free an animalistic snarl as her eyes glowed, her silhouette cast by the evening dimming black sun changed as something sprouted behind her.

" no...You're a..."

The Kanaraka's words turned to screams as a bright orange consumed them, leaving no blood, no bone, no ash.

"Hmm... what have you got wrapped in, Nero?" The attacker spoke in a gentle concern to herself.

"Seem you've finished up." A man who looked 21 spoke from behind her, a staff in his hand. "come on, let's go home...We got school in a couple of days, treetop."

The woman hummed before leaping towards the man her body bursting into flames as she turned to a fox sitting on his shoulder and licking his cheek.

At the click of his staff, the colors of the world return to normal, Gray graffiti walls and a reddish setting sun.

no normal humans the wiser as the duo made their way home, preparing for the next day.

A Death Note x Steven Universe AU, except I'm only drawing my two favorite characters :P

Near would be a lemon-yellow Sapphire, because I like the idea of them being a passive seer, rather than a fighter. (Mello, on the other hand, would probably be a Ruby, because he would be a tiny ball of anger who refuses to fuse with Near to accomplish his goals.)

Mikami would be a green Zircon, because: lawyers. I chose the color green based on his Kira game sprite, and I chose yellow for Near based on the second anime opening.

Below the cut, I have altered versions of these same designs, based on this fic. Near's appearance is fairly close to the canon 2020 one-shot, but Mikami's is all self-indulgence and personal preference. I also designed a fusion for them, because why not?

Here's some quick speculation but the new girl definitely looks like a fusion of some sort? I'd say Homura and Mami because of the outfit BUT also Madoka because of the bow she's wielding. But why would they fuse? Has that ever been done before in the series? And why mami? I could see it if it was between Homura and Madoka, some sort of "let's (literally) unite forces to defeat evil", but Mami? She doesn't seem to have anything that resembles Sayaka's or Kyoko's design either so it can't be a fusion between the Holy Quintet... hmmmmmmmmmm

The other big thing that is very heavily implied is Homura's connection with Walpurgisnacht. Homura's outfit at the very beginning of the trailer looks similar to hers, and Walpurgis' theme of hopelessness and "fool who continuously spins in circles" could be tied with Homura's hopelessness to save Madoka and her obsession to repeat history instead of moving on. This could also imply that this new Homura is actively malicious and is causing harm on purpose (she's definitely portrayed as a villain in the trailer). Homura also asks "Can you fight against the curse of this world?", which probably refers to the curse of the Walpurgisnacht, bound to destroy everything on her way no matter what. Also the movie is called "Walpurgisnacht Rising" which could hint that we're going to find out her origin story AND Walpurgis is called the "Stage-Constructing Witch", and at the end of the trailer Homura says "let the curtain rise on tonight's dream". The connection is super obvious and I, for one, am DYING to find out more.

ALSO there are definitely two Homuras, and given the girls' new outfits I wouldn't be surprised if this was some sort of multiverse scenario, i.e. the good Homura from a different timeline going to devil Homura's timeline to stop her, I imagine from becoming Walpurgisnacht. Devil Homura is wearing a different headband, with a cross on it (very catholic of her I must say), but good Homura (on the right) has a red headband with a bow, very similar to the one she was wearing at the end of the anime - I imagine it's just an updated version of it. You can also see three different Homuras in the tower: the first one at the top, in her usual outfit; the second is halfway through, and it looks like she's slightly different; and of course the one at the bottom, with a new outfit (and soul gem).

I have however no goddamn idea what good Homura is holding nor what it means. The snake head looks kind of like the snake head Homura is sitting on at the beginning of the trailer, but other than that I'm completely blank as to what it is.

Regarding the other characters, not much seems to have changed except for Sayaka. The bandages covering most of her face and the bandages around her neck when she's in her school uniform are very suspicious. My first thought was that she's some kind of zombie - maybe she was revived after turning into a witch and dying, but that doesn't seem to fit the lore/story. It is interesting that she's the most changed of all of them though, and I really wonder if it's related to the fact that she was the only one to confront Homura at the end of Rebellion, and also the only one to turn into a witch in the anime (that we've seen ofc).

I'd say that Mami looks... more serious than usual? and Sayaka seems sadder, but this is from a two-second-long sequence so it might be misleading... (though it would support the multiverse theory as these versions of Mami and Sayaka have different personalities).

Anyway needless to say that I'm mega excited and that I want the movie to come out right now.

Steven Universe Of The Creek Chapter 19 Perilous Sewage To Lazurite Sewage

Steven placed both of his hands on Craig’s head, looking straight into his eyes. He spent the last two minutes trying to see his eyes turn pink again, after the incident from the Tea Timers’ Club. Luckily, Craig’s eyes did turn pink, catching Steven by surprise along with the others.

“They’ve turned pink again.” Kelsey reacted.

“Okay, just don’t move.” Steven responded. In Craig’s vision, he saw Steven as a monster again. However it felt like he was talking to him, despite what the Crystal Gems did back then. “It had to be my saliva going through his ear.”

“It all makes sense now.” Craig replied.

“Did you give him that when you were at his grandparents house?” Omar asked.

“Yes but I wasn’t in a good mood when he showed me his gem two nights ago.”

As Steven let go of Craig, his pink eyes went away, returning back to normal. “I didn’t think my saliva could affect someone like that. It’s gonna be permanent since it happened to Connie when I helped her with her eyes.” This caused Steven to cross his arms. “There isn’t much more I can do to help.”

Just before Steven looked into his eyes, Craig put on his water shoes with him officially picking the location for Steven. “The good thing is, it’s only happening in my mind and not out in the open.” Craig replied. “But you're right, we have to do something to get rid of it.”

“As if calling Garnet wasn’t enough.”

“I was thinking of how cool it is to have pink eyes but…you won’t see things the same way after drinking pink lemonade.” J.P. commented.

“If you actually drink the straw that I used so…it’s not the lemonade itself.”

“We can figure this out later before it’s too late.” Craig turned around to show Steven the next destination of their activity. “Welcome…to the sewers.” He pointed at the sewers. “This is where the Sewer Queen’s at.”

This caused Steven to smile a bit. “I actually saw her when she and other kids headed to the creek when Bernard gave me a tour in the neighborhood.”

“Not to mention she was with us when…the whole battle you had happened.” Kelsey added.

“I didn’t forget but…it’s still awkward there’s a sewer queen…in the sewers.” Steven looked at the sewer itself.

“It’s just a visit, we won’t do anything inside.” Craig jumped in the river. As his friends also jumped in, Steven slowly stepped into the water. As they walked up to the sewer itself, the pink and blue noodle guards came out like they always do, but with the events that occurred last night, it affected everyone in the sewers more than what Craig, Steven and his friends thinked.

“The sewers are on lockdown at the moment.” The pink noodle guard explained.

“On lockdown?” Craig wondered.

“Shouldn’t there be caution tape if it’s on lockdown?” Omar added.

“It has nothing to do with the water.” The blue noodle guard then walked up to Omar straight in the eye. “It’s what Bluebird can do with the water.”

This caused Steven to catch on, knowing that Aquamarine is dangerous in her fusion with Ruby. “Is it okay if we can go inside? We could work this out.” Steven offered.

“The Sewer Queen did want to meet you after last night’s events.” The pink noodle guard replied. “Luckily enough, the sewer kids don’t view you as the enemy.”

“That’s a relief.”

“But for Bluebird…it may make them scared.” The noodle guards invite them inside the sewer.

When they entered the main area while the throne of the Sewer Queen took place, the sewer kids all over the place were panicking. Craig and Steven saw drawings of Bluebird hanging on the wall, with the kids trying to understand what she can do with her powers, despite not witnessing what The Sewer Queen saw.

The Sewer Queen didn’t sit on her throne due to the sewer kids screaming without fun in their systems. “Craig.” She smiled while noticing Steven. “I’m thankful you’re here. Everyone here has been freaking out after I told them about Bluebird.”

“Yeah, I knew something like this would happen.” Craig said. “I just didn’t think a lockdown would take place.”

“I had no other way to calm everyone down. They refused to leave with a couple going through the pipes for more protection.”

“It seems it may cause a possible war in the eyes of the sewer kids.” Kelsey commented.

“I’ve been telling them there’s no war, but I don’t even know if I’m right.” Scuba chiming in with Frisboy by his side.

“They’re afraid that one flying water…thing could overcome us all.” Frisboy added. “By using water against us.”

“I like the water the way it is here. She would turn the water into something scary!”

Steven tried to respect the sewer kids in their way of having fun, but with his experiences of fighting Bluebird from last night isn’t anything of what they think. However, it did give him an idea to calm them down, even if it’s by telling the truth about Bluebird.

“Sewer Queen.” Steven walked up to the queen and sewer kids. “Allow me to handle the situation. It won’t be much, but it will stop the lockdown.”

The Sewer Queen gave him a chance with a small suggestion. She whispered into Steven’s ear, with him accepting her suggestion as it will show the sewer kids how safe they are. Steven climbed the throne while jumping over the fence where the entrance with two pipes on both sides are at. While looking down on the sewer kids, The Sewer Queen whistled with her hand through her mouth, catching the attention of the sewer kids.

“Everyone, calm down.” She spoked. “I know my story caused a distress signal, but I didn't mean it in that way.” She then pointed at Steven as it caught the attention from the sewer kids. “I want you all to welcome Steven Universe, the warrior who fought Bluebird.”

The Sewer Kids felt relief as they paid attention to Steven. “Thank you Sewer Queen.” Steven smiled. “Now to make this clear about Bluebird, she doesn’t control the water. Including…the sewer water.” He looked at the sewer pipes. “And trust me, I doubt she would ever come here to harm all of you.”

The Sewer Kids slowly smiled after the word came out. He then lifted his shirt up to reveal his gem to everyone. “I don’t control the water, but my powers are still worth protecting the people when needed.” He activated his powers to form a bubble with him inside. “Including me.”

“Wow.” Scuba responded.

“Not what I expected, but protection is important.” The Sewer Queen added.

Steven let go of his powers to get back on topic. “I’m a Crystal Gem along with my friends and family who are Crystal Gems.” Steven went through his pocket to take out his phone. When he reached the photo he’s looking for, he looked at Craig. “Craig! Heads up!” He threw his phone as Craig grabbed it in time.

“Got it!” He raised Steven’s phone up.

“Perfect!” J.P. smiled.

“Show it to the Sewer Kids.” Steven called.

Craig went to the sewers by each pipe and showed them the picture of the Crystal Gem who’s blue. “Her name is Lapis Lazuli.” Steven called. “She actually controls the water, more powerful than you think, but she isn’t like Bluebird.” When Craig showed the picture to more of the sewer kids, Steven continued his speech. “She was mean years ago, but let’s just say she wouldn’t use her powers in a way Bluebird would do.” He then took notice of one of the sewer kids raising their hand. “Yes?”

“If she enjoyed herself in the sewers, do you think she would spend her time with us?” A young girl asked.

Steven wanted to tell the truth but he doesn’t want to hurt the Sewer Kids feelings. “Yes…but she would like it better if we’re all at a river in the creek, or a waterfall of some sort.”

“She likes the outdoors more than the indoors.” Craig filling in.

“Okay.” The Sewer Queen walked up to Craig, looking at the photo itself. “If she ever comes here, we could play a water gun war with her.”

“Trust me.” Steven making an awkward smile. “If she was on her own and playing hard ball, she would come out victorious in less than ten seconds.”

“I would definitely forfeit the moment I saw her powers.” Frisboy commented.

“Nobody can blame you.” Omar replied.

As the Sewer Kids panic mode went down, it pleased the Sewer Queen. She climbed up her throne, sitting down to give the kids her announcement. “Now since that everything is in order thanks to the Bluebird warrior Steven.”

“I would prefer Crystal Gem, but warrior still makes sense.” Steven scratched on the back of his head.

“And so, the lockdown has been lifted!”

The Sewer Kids cheered as The Sewer Queen lifted her pool skimmer net in the air. Just when Craig and his friends cheered, Craig’s eyes turned pink again only this time, she saw the Sewer Queen as Lapis Lazuli, even with the wings. He also witnessed the net being the mirror with Lapis’s gem on the back. Unlike the last time, this wasn’t severe, in fact, he was surprised to witness the Sewer Kids as other Lapises with different hairstyles.

The Sewer Queen got off her throne while walking up to Craig. “I wanted to thank your friend Steven for helping out with my problem.” When she got close to him, Craig looked up in the air, as Lapis looked down in his vision. “Umm…Craig, I’m in front of you?” He did look down but only her net, as he saw his reflection from the mirror.

Steven immediately took notice as he went over the fence and landed on the ground. “I’m so sorry, it mostly happens when I’m around him.” Steven walked next to The Sewer Queen.

“Did you give him eye drops…” She looked at Craig’s eyes. “That made him go blind?”

“Yes.” Kelsey smiled.

“Trust me, if there’s one thing Steven’s bad at is making eye drops of his own.” J.P. wrapping her arm around Craig.

“...Yeah, I didn’t have the best talent of helping people’s eyes.” Steven responded. “But to be fair, it worked only once...on my girlfriend.”

“Okay.” The Sewer Queen smiled. “I just hope it’ll go away.”

“We all can hope.”

Craig and his friends left the sewers as it returned to its normal state. The Sewer Queen offered to give Steven a reward, but she decided to make one before he leaves. As they got out of the sewers, Craig’s pink eyes went away. “What did you see?” Omar asked.

“I saw The Sewer Queen as Lapis Lazuli and she was holding a mirror.” Craig answered.

“Ahh the time I freed her from that.” Steven remembered. “Was there anything else?”

“The Sewer Kids were also like The Sewer Queen, but nothing seriously bad. I don’t even think I can take a break without my eyes turning pink.”

“Hey, look on the bright side.” Steven placed his hand on Craig’s shoulder. “I’m not leaving until you’re back to normal otherwise, you would have those pink eyes forever.”

“Finding the way to get rid of it is what I’m worrying about.”

Then bubbles appeared out of nowhere, catching everyone’s attention. She appeared on the left by the river, as she lifted her pink bubble wand. “I am the champion of feeling and positivity. Foe of bad vibes throughout the galaxy. I am Sparkle Cadet!” She poses with more bubbles coming out of her wand. “And nobody can dull my sparkle.”

When Steven and Craig looked at Sparkle Cadet, they both smiled from her performance. Which gave them the same and right idea. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” Craig turned to Steven.

“Yes.” He responded. “She’s gonna have another hero by her side, saving the galaxy.”

She's bubbly and optimistic. As she's always cheerful a optimistic, it made Barry feel more comfortable and less stressed. She's playful and bit flirty in her way, she like to make Barry blush, she think Barry is cute and charming.

She's friendly, outgoing and talkative. She like to talk to her gem friends and human friends (after she live on earth). She's confident and less shy Barry, she's not afraid to approach other people, even teenagers.

She's laid-back and less worried than Barry, she isn't easily stressed. She isn't strict as Barry, it made her know how to calm him down and relax. At the same time, she cares for him very much. She tried to cheer him up and support him as much as she could.

She's adaptable, She has no problems about living and learn about earth culture. She learn some basic skills like housework and cooking from Barry. Although, she might not be as good as him. But, she tried her best to lighten his burden. She's always ready to learn something new at any time.

She's open-minded, she's few of gem who has no problem about Cross-Gem Fusions and Defective Gems. It's reason she felt bad for them anytime, when some gems insult some Cross-Gem Fusions and Defective Gems were disgusting, They were unfairly judged. It made her uncomfortable to Caste System.

She's beauty-loving. She's interested in beauty like makeup and hairstyling after she live on earth. Because, she always wonder how human made themselves look good. She learned how to do makeup and hair from Stanley's wife, Angela (Angela is Beautician at beauty and hair salon near her house). She especially loves and is interested in hairdressing, it made her want to work as a hairdresser one day.

She loves to travel. Before Era 3, she had always dreamed of traveling to somewhere beside Homeworld or the planet she lived. But because Caste System, she didn't have the opportunity to do that during that time. Sometimes, she felt that She was not fit to live in gem society. But she always believed, she will be free one day like other gems.

After she move to earth and knew Barry, Ethan and Amelia, She's always excited when her boyfriend, Barry with his 2 child or Barry's cousin, Stanley with his family invites her to travel to different places on earth. Plus she's gem, she can use general gem abilities like super strength as Quartz help can help lift heavy objects.

She liked and was very impressed with Barry. Which, she was impressed by his coolness and cuteness at the same time. Especially, his sense of humor and shyness. But what makes her love and admires him so much, is she loved sincerity to everyone, determined to what him do, responsible man and being a good father to his children. Which is what makes him so charming to her (after she live with him).

She love and care Barry's children, Ethan and Amelia as her children. She tried her best to support and take care of them, and she tries to be a good mom and be cool to them like Barry does. Sometimes, she learned something from them like Ethan taught her to drive a go-kart and other sports, and Amelia taught her to do water sports like water skiing and how to draw in basic way.

She like Barry's drawing much, she was always impressed when she saw him draw. Even, he only sketched when he was bored.

She like Barry's eyes color. Because, she think his eyes color are pretty as her hair color and her skin. Also, she like Barry's fluffy hair as well as his eye color. She enjoys playing with and rubbing hair (Barry enjoy with it, when she does it).

She loves to eat a lot, she always like to tries new foods, after she live on earth. Especially, she love any cheese recipes, fried foods recipes (especially, fried snacks), salad recipes and foods Barry made. Also, she like some Chinese foods (after she met and know Barry with his 2 child).

Cooking is her fav. hobbies. Since she is a person who loves to eat, so it made her want to learn how to cook. She started learning that skill from Barry, she tried her best to learn how to cook from him. Although, she might not be as good at cooking as him. But she's good at cooking such as fried dishes, noodle dishes, and pasta dishes.

For her fav. foods, she love Tater Tots, it's her most fav. fried food snack. Also, she like Fish and Chips, Onion Rings, Cheese Sticks, Salad with honey mustard or salad cream, Casserole and Spaghetti Bolognese.

For her fav. desserts, she love pie much. Especially, Apple Pie is her most fav. pie. Also, she like Gummy Jelly and Jelly.

For Chinese foods, Wonton Noodle is her most fav. Chinese food and noodle. Also, she like Chow Mein, Spring Roll, Rice Noodle Roll and Xiaolongbao.

For Chinese dessert, She love desserts with sweet bean paste filling. Especially, Sesame Ball (Jian dui). Also, she like Sachima (Ethan introduce this snack to her) and Chinese Fried Dough (she like to eat with hot chocolate or soy milk).

For her fav. drink, she love Bubble Tea (Amelia introduce this drink to her), she can drink bubble tea of any flavor. But, Classic Milk Tea is her most fav. Bubble Tea flavors. Soft drink is second fav. drink, especially cola. Also, she like Apple Juice.
