Sometimes studying can be difficult. I feel like I'm late for everything. But I have to try. Maybe the end of the road will be beautiful, we can't know until we try.

•2.11.23• D-5/30•
Exams start from 4th so updates may become erratic. Since last time, I barely made the passing marks for Chemistry, I have prepared for chemistry a lot. I hope I get a distinction this time because it really pulls down my self confidence if I get less in the school exams (although people tend to ignore these exams and concentrate more on the competitive ones as long as you don’t fail). It’s a matter of pride I believe. I studied for a bit over 10 hours and my mind was not “minding”. It was Gymnopedia No 1 on repeat that pulled my shits back after the 7th hour.
Things I did-
Thermodynamics revisions-> (the entire chapter)
Equilibrium -> from NCERT theory only
Periodic table-> some (boring) parts
Solved thermodynamics questions
Exercise-> 1 set from “Stretching” app for beginners
Also I recovered from chicken pox and can go out of my room again. Feels heavenly to be out in the sun T_T

How to revise before exams.
Tumblr media
Today I wanna talk about revision, because it literally has to do with 90% of your exam result.
a good revision means you know the most important materials before the exam + you can solve random questions from past papers ( perfectionist alert. )
• Now how can you make your revision effective?
Here are five tips that I believe might help you know exactly how to revise before exams:
Give yourself enough days for revision
Choose the method that works best for you ; flashcards, active recall, mind maps
Review the most important topics first.
Revising what you studied is more important than studying new topics
Use past papers.
Now let's dive deeper into each one of these tips, but before that let's say something to be realistic: if you want your revision to be effective, you gotta work from the starter of the semester. Or at least, a few weeks after that starter .
Why?
So you can try new revision methods ( which I'll talk about in details later ) and choose the perfect one for you.
For example: you want to revise for biology and you haven't figured out how to revise before that exam, but you are still at the beginning of the semester, you have the luxury to try out all the methods and see if they work.
So you tried out the question and answer method but you are more of a visual learner so you found out that flash cards and mind maps are going to work better for you.
Moving on to the next reason, which is:
2. Preparing materials to revise from!
Back to our example, you now know that flash cards are it for biology, so now you need to make sweet, lovely flash cards for each unit , right? So you can save them and use them the two days before the exam!
Now back to our tips on how to revise before exams! And let'talk about time .
1. Give yourself enough days for revision.
Two hours? Six hours? Na na! Time is your only and irreversible card here, so make sure to play it right! Split the days before the exam so you have at least one or two days to go through everything before the time.
Revision is SO SO SO IMPORTANT! No matter how hard you study, you won't remember half of it if you don't revise them over and over.
2 . Good method
The good method is the one that works for you, buddy! I won't tell you to stick to one way and trash the others.if it works, that's it .
HOWEVER, it's known for some methods to work best with certain subjects, such as : flash cards for studying languages! So it's good to see what's up there and try it out.
3. DO NOT REVISE EVERYTHING!
It's very important to figure out what your teachers wants you to know. Every exam has its high yield information that you're more likely to get asked about.
It helps to make a table and organise the materials from the most important to the least important.
4. Revise then study
If you are short on time it's better to start revising what you already know than to cram and study the new topics . Why? Because this way you at least can ensure you don't forget the first half. You can study the other topics after your revision is over.
5. Past papers are very very important.
Don't ever go to your exam without solving a few ones of them.
They help you know how the teachers think, the formula of each question, the design of the paper and that helps you know how to study for each one of them.
I hope this was helpful , and best of luck for everyone ✨

GCSE Maths: You can do it!!!
Tumblr media
We've worked hard for this exam. We deserve success. Let's show everyone what we can do!
A few things to remember:
Attempt every question, but make sure not to run over the allocated time for each one.
If you're still working during the last 15mins or so, prioritise the questions you are most likely to get right.
Remember that your brain needs time to warm up. I suggest starting from the beginning for this reason.
Stay calm and use logic if you get stuck. This is why it's so important to understand the reasoning behind the process.
Make it as easy as possible for you to stay focussed. Write lists of the steps you need to take if it helps.
Read the question and underline whatever you find useful.
If you genuinely have no idea what to do in a question, just do something. Simplify a surd. Annotate a diagram with anything you can work out. Expand or factorise. These usually get you a mark. That's one mark more than you would have got by skipping the question entirely.
Check for small things, like this symbol ± after square rooting a number, anything to do with indices or coefficients, anything to do with + and - and anything copied from the question or another line. If you mess up one of these, it can throw the whole question off. Little details make a difference.
Method marks are usually a thing. If it's too late to fix a mistake, just keep going. You can fix it later if you have time.
Leading on from that point, make sure it's easy for the examiner to follow your working. If they have no idea what you've done, then they can't award you method marks. Write little headings or draw arrows if it helps.
FOLLOW THE REGULATIONS OF THE EXAMINATION. Don't bring banned materials or try to cheat. No matter the pressure you face, just don't do it. Trust in your abilities. You know more than you think. If you get caught cheating, you will be disqualified and get 0. It could also affect other exams outside of maths which are organised by the same exam board. Don't take the risk. Just don't.
WE CAN DO THIS! Trust yourself and do your best <3

So close to the due time of my last exam for my first year in college and I’m finding it difficult to get it done.
What do all of you do to motivate yourselves? What’s something you were told to try while cramming for finals?

13/100 Productive Day
Today, despite all the emotional turmoil I went through, I forced myself to do something. Because the feeling of satisfaction from fulfilling a targeted task makes people feel good. When I woke up in the morning, I went to help my father with his work. I came home and read some books. Even though I was very tired in the evening, I walked for a full hour. During the walk, I talked to my friend for a while, after I hung up the phone, I listened in English. I will take the YÖKDİL exam tomorrow, I am waiting for your good wishes 🌸

Hey, I just started med school and it has been so overwhelming. I failed my first internals and second one is in a month . I have no motivation to study. Could you please help me?
Hello there, dear.
First things first, lemme bring a quote by pop proctor: “ Your past results have absolutely nothing to do with what you're doing right now.”
You gotta deal with your previous exam as an experience not an incidence. Let's try to figure out what you did wrong and what you didn't do completely.
I'd suggest you to sit down and write on a piece of paper all the materials you have to cover for your next exam. This should take about an hour if the materials are too complicated to gather.
Write the titles and go through them. Use highlighters to categorise them . For example; hard= green, easy = pink, med = blue. Start by the hardest topics.
Go to your book and if you can get your hands on past papers or past questions that'd be great, because we need to know what's the most important information you need to focus on the most.
Use YouTube for reference videos. It helps a lot, you can use Osmosis, khan academy or any other channel because videos make information stick better.
After that, write down a few questions regarding that topic and try to answer them by yourself. It's not a big deal if you couldn't answer them all, just put a mark on the spots you are weak at so you can re-revise them later.
And that's on until you are done with all the materials, solve past papers and off you go.
Now what I think is very important for you is to prepare a good, quiet place to study. Environment is very important.
Log out of all social media except the ones you need for help.
This one is very important because we don't have time to waste! You need every minute.
Make a routine that enables you to wake up early, eat healthy food and make a to do list first things in the morning so you have a clear idea of what your day is going to look like.
Food and sleep is as important as studying! Because your brain needs nutritions in order to focus and concentrate.
Pomodoro technique is very helpful. There are many apps that can help you such as ; pomodoro smart timer. There, you can organise your study sessions and breaks.
Breaks are very important to keep up because you need to study for more than 25 days so please avoid burn out.
Best of luck with your exam, dear! Please start as soon as possible and you'll do just fine! Believe in yourself and do your best 🙏🏻❤️
