I'm not someone who blocks other accounts unless I really need too but . . Damn 👀 the recent CK Post drama really brought some nasty people out of the wood works.
Never thought I'd have to block a Christian Furry who only posts Bible verses, but here I am ✨

Hi everyone, last year I wrote my second book, Silverlake.
Set in 1994 in Silverlake, an American metropolis in Minnesota, the story takes place in a world in which several animals on the planet are evolving drastically, becoming anthropomorphic. These animals are having human characteristics where they have acquired several human abilities like speech, much to the surprise of humans.
Due to this evolution, humans began to fear for these animals, generating hatred and prejudice against them. This started a conflict between humans and evolved animals, where tensions and hostilities between them began to increase at an alarming and dangerous rate. The story revolves around an unlikely friendship between Emily Hartwood, a lonely 12-year-old girl, and Nathan Davison, an extroverted 13-year-old fox.
This dramatic story was inspired by the film The Cure (1995) and the concept of animals evolving was inspired by the idea of the next stage of human evolution explored in Marvel Comics' X-Men. The drawing of the first image was done by my best friend, NOTG, and the arts for the second and third image were done by @isa-sketches. Thank you so much guys for the amazing arts ❤️

Oi pessoal, ano passado eu escrevi o meu segundo livro, Silverlake.

Under a thing about, you guessed it, furries
Not blurring the names because bigots always deserve harassment and discriminatory hate is not an opinion

I really want to make a sideblog that's like.. set in an anthro world and in-character meant to be the blog of a furry activist talking about issues that would exist in said universe (stuff like "friendly reminder that just because your dog friend is wagging their tail doesn't mean they're not uncomfortable" or "how comes in 2023 we still don't have many chairs fit for larger tails") but because a lot of discrimination and related issues are similar across topics a lot of it would look like half-baked metaphors or parody of irl things people actually struggle with and I don't wanna do that

It's somewhat hilarious that this site has banned pornography, thus by extension pushing away much of the art and lgbtq community due to the way it's been applied with little consistency and automatic and frivilous and discriminatory censorship, and of course sex workers are banned and nsfw artists can't make money well or easily, thus resulting in there being a significantly smaller amount of furries than there used to be here, having "booping" as an april fools joke. Like, you kind of ran off most of the main audience for this shit back in 2018 and onward by virtue of all that nsfw banning and anti queer discrimination you got a lawsuit over, not to mention the transmisogyny in particular. The booping thing itself is meaningless, but funny in an ironic sort of way, at expense of the site of course.

btw the reason it was super popular to hate furries in the 2000s - 2010s (and now);was because "furry" is and always has been synonymous with gay, trans or some other flavor of queer. it has nothing to do with the costumes or art.
the furry community has been an integral part of the online queer community. it has been a a pivotal and safe way for queer ppl to express themselves online without being identified by IRL homo/transphobes that could discriminate against and harm them. being able to blend creativity and escapism seamlessly with expression of sexuality and gender without having to conform to a norm has been literally vital in many queers lives.
so yea anyway furries are awesome, they literally helped me realize i was trans and bi by meeting other trans furries in furry social networks. my first exposure to trans terms like genderqueer, nonbinary, neutrois, and trans man were from other furries. ive been a furry since 2010 and im still planning on owning a fursuit :3

As much as sometimes body-mod enthusiasts can be irritating (and the long and frustrating history of orientalism and racism within the community at large, though that’s getting more and more pushback), I find myself very suspicious about the people who claim that there is no discrimination against people who do have body mods or alt looks, and/or that they deserve it when it happens. At the core of it, it is a bit fucked up that one’s boss can dictate what harmless things a person does to their body, that don’t actually affect other people. And it’s very fucked up that people who are in theory supporters of bodily autonomy, even if the people in power disapprove of those choices, act like hiring discrimination, housing discrimination and the like is actually fine when it’s something that isn’t “out of the person’s control”.
(But given that body modification, and to some extent alt styles, are so strongly associated with being lgbt, it’s kinda telling what this is really standing in for. Like nonmonogamy/polyamory and furries, people tell on themselves with how they talk about these things.)

[Information regarding the visual stylization and anthropomorphization in my OC world/story in development 'circusworld']
The "animals" in circusworld are all people. They are drawn as anthropomorphic animals for stylistic and symbolic purposes. Any species may exist, but I tend to prefer to draw my favorite animals or the animals which are most symbolically important to me. So while birds, reptiles, fish, and insects exist in their world, you are more likely to see lions and zebras as the main characters. They should all be drawn with human bodies and limbs, including plantigrade legs/feet, with the exception of ungulates which may be given ungulate feet. Insect species may have wings on their backs. Bird and bat species may have wings either on their backs or as extensions of their fingers. Their hands are humanlike with the exception of paw pads and claws for mammals, and the aforementioned avian species. Their heads should have humanlike foreheads, brow ridges/eyebrows, and eyes, but they may have animalistic noses and mouths. They have hair on their heads. They have animal ears and tails. For all intents and purposes, they are "humans," but artistically, they are "animals" who are undoubtedly people.
They may have flat chests or defined chests, including through transitional surgery. Nipples are not drawn. Lower genitalia is not drawn. Both of these features technically do exist in their world for reproductive/child raising purposes, but it is not the focus of the story and is not necessary to illustrate them. They may have body hair in addition to the fur/feathers/skin/scales on their bodies. They do not necessarily feel the need to wear clothes. Many of them do, for various reasons. Clothes may be physically necessary for warmth, protection, or as a uniform. Some clothes are worn simply for fun or fashion. Many circus characters enjoy clothing as costume.
Feral animals exist in their universe and appear and behave exactly as they do in our universe. They cannot talk, and they are kept as pets and used as livestock. It is not seen as weird for an animal person to own a feral animal pet, because animal people are entirely separate beings from feral animals.
Essentially, animal people are just people. Thus, their species is not often commented on by other animal people, and is often entirely irrelevant to their lives. There is no species discrimination or predation amongst animal people, although certain animal people species may have more of a taste for feral animal meat than others. In addition, some species behaviors may be adapted into personality or lifestyle traits, such as a sea lion enjoying swimming. However, a cat could enjoy swimming just as much. Animals of all different lifestyles and personalities exist.
Animal species are often used to symbolize different traits that we humans attribute to animals. For example, a lion symbolizes bravery/courage, devotion to a group/family, and physical strength. As such, a lion character may embody these themes more heavily. In the case of zebras, they are used specifically because of their symbolic meaning as a representation for under-diagnosed/rare medical conditions, and zebra characters are likely to be used to explore concepts related to illness and disability.
In conclusion: I am a furry artist above all else. I thrive when I am making furry art. I love the creative freedom and opportunity to explore symbolism that is inherent to furry art. I do not think I could tell a story or create a world that I was satisfied with if all of the characters were humans, because of the way my brain thinks in colors and symbols like this. But with this project specifically, the characters are just people who happen to be animals.
