Not ONCE has she ever said that she’s straight. Being gay doesn’t mean you’re not an ally to other parts of the community. Being a gay white woman doesn’t mean I have the same experience as someone who’s Trans or POC. Also, being CLOSETED means you can still be an ally for your own community, even if you’re not publicly part of it. Many young queer fans see this side of the fandom. I can’t even imagine having to come into adulthood with THIS as a reference point to how gay people are treated.
