✩Writeblr Intro✩
Tumblr media
✩About the Author✩
Hello there ! I am Arthur and I am a writer who decided to make a separate blog just for my works and such. My main blog is @saintv0id if you are interested for whatever reason. I go by either Arthur or Void on here whichever is fine. I go by she/her and am also demiromantic
I like anything fantasy and fiction, and other such things like renaissance festivals, the medieval and renaissance periods, I like collecting bugs and bones, and I love musicians like Hozier, Tamino, Florence, and Noah Kahan
✩About this blog✩
• This blogs purpose is for my writings/stories and whatever relates to them, like OC intros, lore revealing, or really whatever takes place in my world
• I am open to any asks, questions, or msgs, or even recommendations if ya wanna know anything or submit something, please do so
• All stories and writings on here are all within the same world/universe that i have built, they are all connected one way or another
✩About how my stories work✩
• Again all of my stories take place in the same world, which I have called Allra, so all of my stories together will be called The Chronicles of Allra
• If you are interested in the basic lore and history behind Allra, I will soon have a post up with all the info, I will add the link here once updated and completed
• Allra is heavily influenced and based around Norse mythology, although all characters and lands are original, they are inspired by the norse mythos and the norse mythos are even implemented into the world’s history somewhat
• Some stories will be multiple parts and others will be just short stories involving random characters within the world and some will have a bigger impact then others
✩About my WIPS✩
Prince Killer:
• Genre: Fantasy & Adventure
• Warnings: Murder, hints of emotionally abusive family (will update if the list expands)
• Tropes: Magic, found family, retelling with a twist, major angst, royalty, fighting against prophecy & destiny, morally grey MC, family rivalry, major symbolism
• Main & Side Characters: Locke Ambrose, Caradoc Ambrose, Kailen Skaesun, Elwin Ambrose, Toke Ambrose (There’s more but those 5 are really the ones that need to be noted)
• Summary: In a world that was reborn after the events of Ragnorak, history seems to repeats itself as the King of Konunheim hears word from one of his trusted prophesiers that his son, Caradoc, will die by another’s hand by a simple arrow made from a harmless plant and if this were to occur the world may break out into another war and destroy itself. Assuming his last born, Locke, may be the killer due to his certain ways and dislike of his brother, he demands for his punishment and a way to keep Caradoc safe. While the other nine courts are splitting apart over the idea of a apocalyptic war, the two brothers now have to find a way for one of them to be pardoned and the other to not die while also preventing a war, and maybe even find out if Locke actually has intentions to kill his brother and follow through with prophecy or keep Caradoc safe…
(other works are in progress, I will update this list as I work on them more)

I know you have analysed them a lot but what is your fav part of rhaelya? And what's a fic idea you would like to write about them?
oh Rhaegar & Lyanna are the reason I joined fandom for the first time, so you know my love for them is special 😅 as for my favorite part: I have probably talked about this before but I'm very touched by the concept of 'human connection in a hurricane.' It's about how chaos causes panic & panic can overwhelm us but it's true purpose is clarity. In the mire of asoiaf political intrigues and betrothals, Rhaelya represents that clarity. In general, I find Rhaelya to be more similar than not (for all the icefire chatting). What do you do when you love your father but he's the reason you can't go home? If the people who love you can't help you or save you, does that turn you cruel or empathetic towards the world? When do/don't we trust?
There is also the obvious which is that Rhaegar & Lyanna fall in together because the other is what they admire. It may seem like a random & sudden pairing but really there's a mirroring from the beginning. Rhaegar sings a song to an audience which doesn't understand—Lyanna cries for a reason her family doesn't get either. Their coming together is about hiding the Knight of the Laughing Tree's identity and in that moment they see each other. Lyanna jousts for Howland—Rhaegar does it for Lyanna. Ostensibly the latter are chivalrous acts (defending the weak/honoring the maiden) but because they're not performed within the usual paradigm as expected these actions are a) reviled and b) reveal what truly motivates the two: Compassion. Justice.
I am also partial to the complication of returns/how leaving a place that is no longer safe is a love story/the moments that beg you to run headlong into them and you, human as can be, make that choice. All of these are part of Rhaelya's story. It's true that Lyanna left her family who she loved. People will say ah she was young, she was stupid, she was blinded by Rhaegar's charisma; but again, this is a moment about clarity. About certainty. Justice is about what happens in the future. Lyanna ran to the future & left behind only those whose love mattered less than their ability to possess her.
Rhaegar I have recently longposted about so it's clear how I formulate him. On the Lyanna part I've definitely said this but basically once the war kicked off there was no way for him to transport Lyanna anywhere without further endangering her and/or him family with Elia—you need to understand that Rhaegar loved his children to understand him at all. That he loved his mother, his father, had seen them broken down & turn apathetic or even cruel towards the world. You need to understand that Lyanna represented a shining light of hope against this backdrop for him. I am also one of the people who believe that Rhaegar & Lyanna's sexual relationship only started after Brandon/Rickard were executed so clearly this is a complex but also painfully simple story about the human heart for me. I love people at their most human. Affirming people's dignity during suffering or crisis is an ethical duty I feel I have towards others. And GRRM did exactly that for Rhaegar and Lyanna, so how can I not love them? I'd ship Rhaelya if I was born in a small Bavarian village in 1753, etc etc.
As for the fic I'd love to write, there are two:
1—
Rhaegar riding through the Riverlands on his way to the Ghost of High Heart. He's with Myles Mooton, Arthur Dayne, Richard Lonmouth, Oswell Whent. They stop at the Inn at the Crossroads. Everyone's laughing and drinking, Myles is flirting with the one pretty barmaid while Rhaegar is ContemplatingTM—Bess is her name. Bess boasts about all the ladies and lordlings who stopped at their inn recently & gives a description of what sounds like Brandon and Lyanna Stark. They enjoy riding out on their lil horses. But, Bess says, the Northern lord didn't like the look of our little lordling so they didn't stay long & haven't been bacj. The girl was kind though! She gave a few coins for the boy after slipping away from her wroth brother. Suddenly, Rhaegar's tuned in and the little lordling is trotted out...
A toddler with black hair and blue eyes. Soon after, the plans change.
2—
Their first meeting including Rhaegar nerding out a bit over meeting a crannogman after Howland uses lite magic to try and help them escape. Benjen & Howland trying to take responsibility for being the KOTLT and failing. Lyanna not just a winter maiden but a stubborn Northern bitch hardened by winter (it's the iron underneath baby!!). Sussing each other out during a long silent stare down. Maybe somebody even cracks a Joke? That kind of thing.
OK long answer 💀 sorry but I can't help myself!

the relationship between mary and arthur is just. so heartbreaking to look into because while they love each other so so much to the point that years later they still hold some love for each other, but like dutch and molly's relationship, it likely would have never lasted, although for very different reasons
arthur comes from a home where his mother is gone, she died when he was young to the point that its likely he only remembers snippets of her (although i believe one of the reasons arthur connects more with woman and generally have lesser problematic relationship with them than men is because those snippets he remembers was good, that beatrice had cared for arthur, unlike lyle), his relationship with his father, while we don't know much about, we know that arthur is not sad to see him gone, and really, is only sad that it wasn't sooner, so his relationship with his father was at best, not good, and at worst, downright abusive.
he was born into this life of an outlaw, and typically, those who are outlaws don't typically come from the most privileged of places and aren't offered a lot of opportunities, being an outlaw is all he knows and all that he was taught
his father dies, leaving him alone for a couple of years, and since being an outlaw is all he has ever known and he doesn't know that he can be more than an outlaw, nor does he believe he could be more, i mean, it isn't like he is offered a lot of opportunities
he's young, living on the streets, he's not able to take care of his appearance, people back then weren't kind, and actually downright awful to "street urchins," and it bears repeating that being an outlaw is all he ever known, all he ever sees himself as, and all he ever believes himself to be
so when dutch and hosea (and susan) decide to take him in, offer him what could have been the first bit of kindness he's received since his mothers death, take him in their gang, provide him with food, water and love on the regular, for simply no reason at all, or at least, no reason that arthur understands other than it is the right thing to do, of course he's going to view them as his saviours and have them on a pedestal far into his adult life and return that love tenfold
mary on the other hand comes from a life of privilege, or at least, assumed privilege, she wears fancy clothes, has beautiful jewelry, lives in a house and has received an education
while we dont know much of her home life, we know that its incredibly likely that her mother died while mary was young and that her father is a disrespectful, alcoholic, gambling addict and does not treat her and jamie, her little brother well at all
in a way, her home life isnt much different than arthurs, except for the fact that she was born into a life of privilege and that has a large affect on their relationship, for the simply fact that it is likely that they would have never understood each other at all
arthur holds obvious resentment toward those who are privileged, seeing them as nothing but greedy, spoiled and people who have too much money for their own good and have done nothing good for the world, while mary cannot understand why someone like arthur, a man she repeatedly says is a good man, and is a good man, would choose a life of crime when the skills that he has learned as an outlaw can be used for a job in civilization, and doesn't understand that arthur is blind to the opportunities those skills he has offer him because he has been deep into this life as an outlaw for many many years
arthur cannot understand why mary and jamie doesnt want to leave their gilded cage and be free to live as they want to, but mary from the outside can see the dangers that come with the life of the outlaw, a fact that arthur has become used to, the violence and the risk of death is normalized to him, its just a simple fact of life, a fact that he's learned from when he was very young while mary isn't used to it, and hopes to never be used to it because the idea is just too terrifying to her and she could not possibly risk jamies life like that
arthur sees the similarities between his own father and marys father, and does not like him, views him as dangerous, which i believe he is right to do so, while mary comes from a world where as long as a father is bringing food on the table and money in your pockets, he can act however he wants, no matter who he hurts, it is something that is taught to her and ingrained in her mind, to the point that she doesn't see him as bad man, but a man who is trying and her and jamie defend his actions, actively telling arthur not to call him a bad man or insult him, as like the life of an outlaw has become normalized to arthur, the way her father acts is normal to her
mary sees dutch and hosea not as saviours, but simply men who have taken advantage of a good man and has turned him into their workhorse, their guard dog, a man who kills and beats at their beck and call and will do whatever jobs dutch and hosea ask him too, while arthur views dutch and hosea as his saviours, the men who took him in out of the goodness of their hearts and loved him and took care of him, saving him from the brink of death and giving him the first bit of kindness he has received in years
all of this is to say that while arthur and mary think the world of one another, and love each other so much, the difference between their worlds and the difference in their circumstances as well as how young they were means that they can never truly understand why they are the way that they are and that the end of their relationship was always going to be a tragedy and it is both so heartbreaking and interesting too look into

Holy shit, you guys liked my Hatchetfield/Fantasy High idea... still coming up with a good name for it. Just using "High School is Killin' Me" would be good, but that might get confusing in the tags.
That being said, oh boy do I have more, so... let's dive in.
Ragh: He's essentially Max Jagerman if he'd actually had the chance to get that redemption arc (instead of, y'know, dying and becoming a vengeful ghost). Back in his freshman year, he was that jerk, and when he met Fabian, it could've easily resulted in two equally hardheaded guys becoming each other's absolute nightmare, but after Fabian initially got rejected from the team despite being the best at tryouts---and after Fabian slipped Ragh the answers to a test in order to get into his good graces---Ragh stuck up for him and got him on the team. It took a while for them to really become friends, mostly due to the fact that they both needed to grow past the toxic masculinity, but they got there eventually, with Fabian being the first person that Ragh came out to. And, yeah, their relationship was initially "friends with benefits" until they got their shit together. (I don't know what Lydia's deal is yet---she might just have a chronic illness, but it could also have LiB connections.)
Tracker: Her story's fairly similar to in canon---religious family who kicked her out once she started questioning everything, moved in with her cool uncle as a result---only instead of dropping out of high school, she transferred from Sycamore to Hatchetfield High. This worked out pretty well, seeing as Jawbone had just started his guidance counselor position after getting clean and putting that psychology degree to good use. Tracker's adjusting all right to her new life---she goes to concerts at the Slaughtered Pig, she's getting really into witchy stuff, and she's bonded with the principal's daughter over having to go to the school your parent works at... and she's also somehow developed a gigantic crush on the local church girl, which she initially tells herself is completely hopeless. But at night, she dreams of a haunted forest, a full moon, and a woman with white hair whose face she can never quite make out. And one day, she and Kristen find a book in Jawbone's study...
Jawbone: He's kind of the Miss Holloway equivalent, because honestly? There's really no other character who fits the vibe. Instead of being an immortal 80's singer who became a witch, however, he's a seemingly normal guy who grew up in Hatchetfield and has left quite a bit off times, but always finds his way back, and he's staying this time. Part of the reason he always leaves is, of course, the pressure of being queer in a small town, but he also has always had unusual abilities that he can't explain, and he used to either ignore his powers through the use of drugs or show them off as party tricks that would eventually get out of hand. But after years of misspent youth, he decided to get his life together, kind of like Emma did... and when he came back to Hatchetfield, he found a copy of the Black Book and learned the truth. Jawbone's now a protector of the town, helping people in his own way---and sometimes, that means having to let people in on the truth about Hatchetfield.
Ayda: She's well known for being the principal's daughter, a total nerd, and a bit of a recluse through no fault of her own, but there is much more to Ayda than meets the eye. See, Arthur Aguefort, way back in the 1900s, made a deal with Tinky after he lost his wife---that if he never lost Ayda in that same way, he'd serve the Lord in Black for eternity. Tinky agreed, Arthur managed to find a loophole and get outta there with an indefinite lifespan and a seemingly immortal daughter, but Tinky wasn't too happy about losing a future resident of the Bastard Box, so he turned the gift he'd given Ayda on his head. Instead of living forever, Ayda is capable of dying, but every time she dies, she is born again, with no memory of who she was or the powers she has---the original Ayda could control flame, and so can every version of her. So Arthur has to watch his daughter die again and again, find herself again and again, struggle again and again... yeah, there's a reason he became principal of Hatchetfield High instead of the mayor. By this point, he's decided that if he can't help Ayda, the best thing he can do is get to know her well while he can. (She's gonna have a happy ending, don't worry---I'm not that cruel)
Aelwyn: On the surface, she and Adaine have the same relationship as they initially did in canon---constantly bickering, constantly competing, you know the drill---but underneath all that, Aelwyn cares deeply for her sister, and has tried very hard over the years help keep Adaine's powers hidden from their parents. It's really due to not wanting to upset their parents that Aelwyn doesn't try as hard as she should, and why she's fairly distant from her sister most of the time. Their relationship is sorta a Lex-and-Hannah situation... if Lex was a straight-A popular party girl instead of a grungy, rebellious high school dropout. Aelwyn does eventually find herself and grow closer to Adaine, but it takes a while for that to happen.
Zelda: She's still a super-shy and awkward dork who loves pretty much every alt-music genre known to man and has some mild anger issues. In all honesty, not a lot changes about her, aside from her being human and not a satyr---she has a crazy family, she's got a crush on Gorgug that eventually turns into a very sweet relationship, and she eventually becomes friends with The Seven... though, I'm gonna need to finish that season before I can give you guys any more information on the rest of them. However, I will say that the Penelope and Sam situation is gonna tie into the Honey Festival.
Other miscellaneous ideas/characters: Sandra Lynn is a park ranger in Witchwood Forest, Garthy O'Brien runs one of the only queer nightclubs in Hatchetfield, Basrar still runs his ice cream parlor, Gilear is still a mess
And... yep, that's it for now. I'll talk about some of the antagonists later, and then maybe I'll get around to The Seven.

Elizabeth Woodville and Elizabeth of York: Queenship
"As an English queen consort, Elizabeth of York, like her mother, had a web of family connections that became the focus of her major patronage activities" - Michelle L. Beer
"After the safe delivery of their eldest sons, both queens Elizabeth gave thanks by founding chapels. Elizabeth Woodville's was in fact eight years after the event and probably as much a thanksgiving to Westminster Abbey for sanctuary as to God for her son. The chapel was attached to the old Lady Chapel of the abbey and dedicated to St Erasmus, a saint invoked against birth pains as well as patron of sailors which made him an unusually apt dedicatee given the king's absence abroad at the time of Prince Edward's birth. Elizabeth of York's foundation was more immediately linked to the birth of Arthur at Winchester, a site chosen for her lying-in by Henry to associate his first-born with the legendary king after whom he was to be named. Here Elizabeth founded a chapel dedicated to Our Lady." - J.L. Laynesmith
"In 1499 Elizabeth of York wrote to the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, asking for a literal carte blanche of presentation to the highly desirable, centrally located living of All Hallows, Gracechurch Street, London, for which Elizabeth Woodville and her husband had also wanted preferment" - Derek Neal
"Both queens were granted rights of presentation to canonries and prebends in the royal chapel of St. Stephen, Westminster." - Derek Neal.
"Most of the border patterns (of The Fifteen Os, printed by William Caxton and co-sponsored by Elizabeth of York and Margaret Beaufort) are of stylized flowers, mythical beasts, and semi human creatures, quite possibly reused from other books, but one is of a vase of gillyflowers, the emblem of Elizabeth Woodville, whose family had been such important patrons of Caxton, and just over half-way up the margin these flowers lead into a rose branch, crowned with the emblem of her daughter's marriage, the Tudor rose, as if in reference to Elizabeth of York's adoption of her mother's patronage." - J.L. Laynesmith
"In 1480 she (Elizabeth Woodville) petitioned Pope Sixtus IV to allow her subjects to enjoy the indulgences attached to the newly re-established feast of the Visitation, even if the office was recited in private. She also expressed to the Pope her desire for the 'devotion of the faithful of the realm for the [Ave Maria] to be increased more and more'. The Pope obliged by attaching indulgences to the use of the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the recitation of the Ave Maria at each Angelus bell. He also dictated that copies of the letter granting these indulgences be exhibited across the country, thereby ensuring that everyone knew not only of the opportunities to gain indulgences but also of the queen's intercessory role in their spiritual welfare. … Elizabeth's daughter, who of course shared her name saint, was apparently inspired by her mother to develop the devotions still further. Following her petition in 1492, the Pope granted 300 days of pardon to anyone reciting the salutation three times at each tolling of the Angelus bell.” - J.L. Laynesmith
"Elizabeth Darcy, the lady mistress of the nursery for Elizabeth Woodville's children, was appointed to the same post for Elizabeth of York's children, probably as a result of the younger queen's childhood affection for Darcy." - J.L Laynesmith
A couple of reasons why this interests me:
- Elizabeth Woodville was the first English queen since Philippa of Hainault to raise royal daughters, with almost a century and five other queens in between them. I don't think there's ever been such a huge gap in that regard before, which means that Elizabeth would not really had any direct precedent or source of inspiration to follow beyond what was ideally, conventionally expected. Clearly, judging by the fact that her daughter was widely considered a successful queen and emulated several of her mother's own activities, Elizabeth did her job well.
- There's a strange, persistently recurring trend in historical fiction and general histories that tends to make the relationship between the two Elizabeths contentious and/or distant, or tends to emphasize their polarity in whatever capacity, or tends to prioritize Elizabeth of York's relationship with her uncle Richard III and his wife Anne Neville than her own mother (and her own father, tbh). This speaks volumes of the vilification and negative depictions of Elizabeth Woodville in contemporary media, but also the tendency to use Elizabeth of York as a cipher for historians' own thoughts about historical figures rather than a historical figure in her own right. This is particularly prevalent in Ricardian and Ricardian-leaning media, the latest shining example being Alison Weir's "The Last White Rose". On the other hand, a few sympathetic Tudor analyses tend to (understandably) focus on re-evaluating Elizabeth's relationship with Margaret Beaufort and debunking the irritating misconception that they didn't get along. But in the process, Elizabeth of York's relationship and inspiration from her own mother gets lost and forgotten in the mix, when it should in fact be highlighted the most. It's frustrating, because Elizabeth Woodville was evidently her daughter's most important role model: Elizabeth of York was regularly at her mother's side during her childhood, observed her successful queenship for 17 years, and, as we can see, directly mirrored several of her mother's activities during her own tenure as queen. Interestingly, as the 5th quote shows, even when she co-sponsored a book by William Caxton with Margaret, Caxton himself clearly associated Elizabeth of York's patronage to her mother's influence. It's a shame that only a few specific historians tend to focus on the connection between mother and daughter, as I think there's a wealth of analyses to be made on it.
- While both Elizabeths were English queens, with a web of family connections that they used to their and the crown's benefit, their situations were definitely not the same and should not be treated as such. Their different status prior to their marriage meant that their respective families and actions were always going to be viewed and treated differently, for one. More importantly, though, Elizabeth Woodville was the first Englishwoman to be crowned queen. Her English family's advancement and involvement in national and local politics was to be expected, but it's important to keep in mind that it was not precedented. It simply hadn't happened before, and it wasn't expected to happen again. Elizabeth Woodville was very much a novel queen in that regard; certain aspects of her queenship were very unique and unprecedented for that time, and she was the one who established the precedent of using her homeborn family as a network of politics and patronage that all later English consorts followed. In contrast, by the time Elizabeth of York became queen, this was a comparatively more established and familiar practice, followed by two former consorts, her mother and Anne Neville. So, even apart from their differing status and the propaganda against them, it makes sense that their activities were regarded differently, both by contemporary detractors and subsequent historians. There's also the fact that Elizabeth Woodville and her relatives had far more direct power and involvement with the Crown Prince's council, household and administration than Elizabeth of York and her relatives did, which we know massively contributed to the commentary and/or criticism the former received.

Hi! Here's an interesting ask. What if Jim was Douxie's younger brother but still falls for Claire?
Oh, I actually have a fic draft with that premise in my notes though I don't know if or when I may post that one. So, I guess, I'll just share some of my notes.
So, in that AU, Douxie and Jim are half-brothers (they have the same mother who is the daughter of the Casperan family head). They are two years apart, with Douxie being the older one. Douxie is supposed to be an heir - he was born from the arranged marriage between his mother and a talented wizard from another powerful magic clan. Casperan family was once powerful but currently is in decline. The arranged marriage was an attempt to revive the former glory.
As for Jim, he is born out of an affair between his mother and a Camelot knight. This birth seemingly ruins everything for Casperan's family. Douxie's dad leaves as he is greatly insulted. The mother dies soon after giving birth to Jim, leaving both boys in the care of their aunt and grandfather.
Jim is greatly despised in the family. They refuse to give him a magical name, giving him a regular one James. While no one attempts to get rid of him actively, the family keeps sending him into dangerous places to gather ingredients for potions hoping that Jim won't return. Jim befriends Blinky during one of those outings.
Jim seemingly possesses no magic (yet another reason why his family cannot stand him), but Douxie doesn't fare that much better. He was supposed to be a rare prodigy and the hope of the Casperan family, yet he is nowhere close to the expectations. Besides, he likes music and wandering way more than studying under his grandfather's tutelage.
Technically, Douxie and Jim trust only each other in their family, feeling no familial attachment to anyone else (well, Douxie also has his familiar Archie, but that's it).
Jim's magic manifests out of nowhere when he is 9. Unfortunately for him, his magic is shadowmancy (it's blue and black in color, BTW!) and the Casperan family tolerates that one even less than Merlin.
They decide to kill Jim, but Douxie and Archie save him and the three of them run away and settle in Camelot (because of Arthur's purges, the Casperan family has no connections there).
After some time Douxie discovers some unexplained oddity about his brother - Jim has stopped aging both physically and mentally (think of a Peter Pan-like situation). It's the result of Jim's trauma.
Even though they are only two years apart as time passes and Douxie keeps growing, it starts to look like their age difference is bigger.
Jim has a horrible opinion about all wizards except Douxie (he believes his brother is a rare exception and everyone else is a horrible person). He likes knights instead - well, the concept of a knight, who is a noble protector and a true hero, and their aesthetics.
Douxie meets Merlin when he is 16, and around the same time, Jim meets Morgana (his magic goes out of control and she senses him). Morgana is extremely happy to meet another shadowmancer and proposes Jim to become her apprentice. It's the first time someone treats Jim's magic as a good thing (even Douxie, while not calling shadow magic evil, avoids discussing it).
So, Douxie and Jim end as apprentices of Merlin and Morgana respectfully. Merlin is furious about Morgana's decision, he believes she isn't ready to teach anyone and most likely will only set Jim on the wrong path. Morgana simply doesn't care about her master's opinion.
Morgana's support makes Jim start growing again and he also starts to understand that there are more good people among wizards than he thought before. Jim's shadow magic is slightly different than Morgana's - he exceeds in conjuring different stuff from shadows and because of his admiration of knights he can easily summon and maintain an armor and sword made of shadows. Merlin is both horrified and enraged when he discovers it and claims that something like that is too dangerous. Morgana simply believes that Merlin is jealous as doing something like that without external conduits is a rare skill.
When Morgana changes sides, it's another low blow for Jim (as Morgana was a true mother figure for him). Not to mention that Merlin is pretty much deadset on sealing Jim as well before he grows up to become as dangerous as his master. Only Douxie's pleas make him change the plan, but Jim is put under non-stop surveillance from the Camelot knights with some wizards always ready to seal him if something goes wrong.
All of that is obviously no good for Jim's mental health and his time stops once again. Douxie tries his best to heal his brother's psyche but Jim seemingly needs something he can't give him. There are centuries of roaming with no change.
James Lake is Douxie and Jim's latest caretaker from Camelot knights (they keep existing as an organization) and he is a bit more flexible than his predecessors (well, and actually not that devoted to the case). That's why Douxie manages to talk him into trying to play the true family (as he hopes that if Jim has some normal life it may help him).
Douxie and Jim both take the de-aging potion and pose as James's small sons. Eventually, James meets Barbara and they marry. It is serious for Barbara (and she also gets attached to boys fast), but for James, it's just a passing infatuation. He falls in love with someone else and abandons Barbara. Douxie and Jim insist on staying though and James sees it as an opportunity to get rid of an annoying responsibility. Douxie is supposed to report to headquarters about the development, but he ends up faking reports to get some freedom.
Douxie's plan actually succeeds. Jim has Barbara and Toby now, and Jim finally actually gets into living through the teen years.
In this AU, Jim isn't the Trollhunter. Barbara takes over this role and Jim is forced to actively use his shadowmancy to protect her (as she is another mother figure for him and he'll do anything to protect her).
As for Claire in this AU, Morgana plans to use her as a vessel, so Jim is eventually forced into picking between his beloved master and the girl he loves. Obviously, he picks Claire. This entire situation helps him to get a full grip of his magic at last.
Some other stuff this AU features:
part-Akiridon Toby (both Toby and Jim discover each other's secret simultaneously - and it's awkward),
changeling Steve (and he's also Draal's younger brother),
space mercenary Darci (which leads to some problems when she starts dating Toby),
Mary's family are devoted servants of the Arcane Order and she initially is a spy,
Eli is extra sensitive and being surrounded by so many people who feels 'odd' to him drives him crazy

My idea for a DEATH BATTLE!
I'm submitting it here because I think more people will see it. I'll post it on my own blog later.
August 16, 2023
Azula vs. Cinder Fall (Avatar vs. RWBY)
Avatar's sadistic princess confronts RWBY's Fall Maiden in this cruel flame fight!
Azula: Avatar's power-hungry prodigious Princess of the Fire Nation.
Cinder Fall: RWBY's scorching Fall Maiden.
Wiz: Fire is the element of power and passion, caressing us with warmth and light...
Boomstick: ..but these psychotic ladies have burned so much and yet can't satisfy their thirst for might. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
PREFACE:
I get that Cinder isn't popular but please don't give me heat. If this is already a popular matchup, please don't gut me, I came up with this MU the same day the day before Stitch vs Rocket Raccoon was released. I don't follow the VS. community outside of DB! I did this because I had an idea, I thought others should hear it, and I thought it would be novel since Avatar is one of, if not the biggest, pieces of animation to influence RWBY. There's no thumbnail and I don't go into as much detail as in an actual episode, this is just my idea.
My format: I'll explain why I want this battle to happen as well as the possible connections, the art style, and how the battle could go down. Since I don't do VS. stuff, I won't give calcs.
WHY:
Connections: megalomaniacal prokinetics. One is born into royalty and power, a princess to a lord, and set to inherit the throne. She is a prodigy, a strategist, and a careful planner. However, she is an excellent manipulator, sadistic and cruel. The other was born a street rat that was abused and had to claw her way to power, eventually selling part of her humanity. She is impulsive despite initially giving the impression of being a femme fatale mastermind. She loses battle after battle, starting conflicts in the name of her thirst for power and might until she is put in her place by her associate. Both eventually suffer a major loss (Azula on the day of Sozin's Comet and Cinder to Ruby during the Fall of Beacon) that exemplify the downfall of their characters. Both are traumatized due to family (Azula being traumatized because she thought her mother didn't love her and her father's expectations and Cinder because of Madame and her daughters abusing her and Rhodes being willing to fight her). Both contributed to the downfall of meaningful landmarks (the Earth Kingdom coup and the Fall of Beacon) after infiltrating the locations with disguises (Cinder as a Kyoshi Warrior and Cinder as a Haven Academy student). They have connections to speeches of power, which I will elaborate on with my...
Personal reasons:
I admit that I want these two to get their teeth kicked in, but there is a bigger reason why I am "pitching" this MU: the character interactions. Recall this quote from Azula: "You were born with nothing, so you've had to struggle, and connive, and claw your way to power. But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you're born with. The fact is, they don't know which one of us is going to be sitting on that throne, and which one is going to be bowing down." Then, there's Arthur Watts's famous monologue to Cinder: "Oh, of course you are! Because that's just what you do, isn't it? And how has that worked out for you? You stormed into Fria's room, thinking you can take on Ironwood's top fighter and war machine. But you couldn't. And that machine became the Winter Maiden. Oh, and let's not forget your deal with Raven Branwen. Get all your enemies in one place so you'd have a shot at revenge. If only someone could have warned you against such a miserable idea. Oh wait, I did! But you pushed ahead and you lost it, when all you had to do was your job! You think you're entitled to everything just because you've suffered, but suffering isn't enough! You can't just be strong, you have to be smart! You can't just be deserving, you have to be worthy! But all you have ever been, is a bloody migraine!" which leads to Cinder crying. THIS is the big reason why I want these 2 to fight. Azula is a good reader of people, so she'll have no problem dissecting Cinder's megalomania, and imagine Cinder's reaction when she is exposed by Azula. Cinder struts around like a big shot, but Watts revealed that she is not only not what she thinks she is, but idiotic and entitled, undeserving of her power, so being toyed by Azula could lead to a meltdown. Regarding their abilities, Azula's blue flames and lightning would be a great contrast to Cinder's red and orange flames and glass manipulation. There's the possibility of a close-quarters fight due to Azula's martial arts training and Cinder's blade training. There's also the possibility of aerial combat due to Cinder's flaming flight.
THE FIGHT ITSELF:
Art and animation:
The dream is that it'll be a hand-drawn fight, but it'll realistically be a sprite battle (all Avatar fights have been w/ sprites) or 3D (all RWBY battles have been in 3D). Going with the infamy of both characters (at least Cinder's), I don't think they'll pour a lot of resources into the project, so I'm guessing sprites. Sozin's Comet will NOT be a factor in this fight.
Possible setup:
(Think Ganondorf vs Dracula) Cinder, being the power-hungry hothead that she is, storms into the throne room with a flare. Azula is unphased, lounging on her throne casually like in the Day of Black Sun, though she was not expecting a challenger. However, she sees something in the one-eyed woman. Azula smirks; she knows what kind of person is confronting her, and she's ready to have fun. It's almost as if Long Feng was an insecure firebender.
"I'm here to claim what is mine." (Like in volume 8's "Take what is mine.")
They banter, Azula being the narcissist that she is, provokes Cinder into attacking her. Azula catches the attack, and Cinder starts to lose her cool.
FIGHT!
So, they fight. Notable highlights:
1. There's fire everywhere, but Azula notices that her opponent isn't a good martial artist after a close spar, but she is proficient with blades, and they're made of glass, too. She's never seen this kind of firebending.
2. Trying to keep her distance, Cinder launches fireballs, summons explosions from the ground, shoots arrows from Midnight (that's right, I'm bringing this relic back), and launches small glass projectiles.
3. Azula catches Cinder off guard with lightning.
4. At one point, the two cause a giant explosion (I'm sorry for reusing this so much), with Cinder soaring to avoid the blast. Azula doesn't come out unscathed.
5. Azula knows what she has to do though, and she smirks. Her opponent may be floating above her, but she is beneath the Princess. Azula pulls a Long Feng, exposing Cinder's insecurities, the fruitlessness in Cinder's pursuit of power, the missing eye, and how shoddily she fights, and Cinder breaks down, shouting and charging headfirst at her enemy. She lost to Little Red, Raven Branwen, and even Watts; she won't lose to this prissy girl.
6. Azula, smugly manipulates her opponent: "I know why you fight. You fight for power, for strength, for superiority. Admirable though your efforts may be, it's meaningless. Your eyes alone reveal your story: a powerless runt pushed around and abused, even betrayed. You killed almost all that stood in your path until you lost your eye and your arm. You willingly sacrificed yourself for power, but you fight so poorly, and it didn't get you anything except misery and defeat."
7. The battle ends with Cinder shooting Azula and using Scorching Caress like she did with Pyhrra, leading to her crying like with Watts or Azula using lightning to shock Cinder to death like she would've done to Zuko.
Azula is the smarter of the two, is the superior martial artist, and has the faster attack in lightning manipulation, but Cinder has greater mobility with her flight and if scaled to Emerald and Mercury like in Blake vs Mikasa, she's capable of dodging lightning, can likely end the fight with Scorching Caress, and theoretically won't run out of weapons since as long as there's dirt, she can turn it into glass. Azula is at the risk of a mental breakdown and Cinder is prone to manipulation and has underestimated her opponents.
Ending puns:
"Azula simply made Cinder fall."
"Azula got flamed, and got her glass kicked."
Possible track names:
"Fallen Hot Megalomania"
The names would be in reference to Cinder's last name, the idea that both have fallen from grace or power and their unending drive for power.
It would take elements and cues from Cinder's theme from Vol. 8 and the final fight between Zuko and Azula.
THANK YOU AND I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS!
---------------------------------------------------
Wow... Just... WOW!
I've honestly considered these two in a fight, and honestly, I'm still not sure who would win.

I am absolutely stuck on the dynamic between Brighid, Arthur, Alfred, and Jack rn. They're both Arthur's sons, but Jack was hers to raise first and she contributed to Alfred's upbringing too, and they may as well be hers with all the people they're getting from her, and that's happening because of Arthur's policies. And Arthur, for his part, parents them based on vague memories of his mother - but you've said a lot of those are actually Brighid.
Point of all that being, would you mind expanding on the early part of Arthur and Brighid's relationship, before he became a colonizing shithead? What are these memories with her that he's attributing to their mother? How did that relationship influence his parenting (both the things that he's aware were Brighid and the things that he thinks were mum but were actually Brighid?)
Okay so just to preface this so no one starts reading this like they do my more modern things where I can usually have a basis in fairly accepted and confirmable fact, we’re going so far back that not only is this not chronologically accurate, its only archaeologically plausible. This is the literary version of saying, "it's for ceremonial purposes” on the label of an artefact anyone with courage would call a prehistoric bong. There’s a big trend for “History of X in 100 Objects” right now. In my personal collection is a 'History of Ireland in 100 objects.' I’m not saying this is accurate or realistic. However, it is based on historical themes that lend themselves to what is ultimately a historical fantasy as plausible as I can write it. That said, let's crack this can of fuckery.
So, to start out, this is all pre-1066, which is when, after the Norman invasions of England, Wales, and and Southern Scotland, the history of the British in Ireland begins. Before that, we’re talking about a world where Irish raiders are a menace on the Welsh coast, and the Dál Riada is the result of an Irish migration, where the peoples on the Irish Coast brought Gaelic culture and eventually merged with and overtook the Pictish culture already occupying the area. The balance of power is very different in this world. This is not the 18th and 19th century when Brighid is firmly under the heel of a British jackboot and even when the British government was willing to concede slightly on empire, the British army nearly revolted when it was even considered to maybe, perhaps, rein in unionist violence in nineteen-fourteen just months shy of WW1. Winston Churchill was also behind that, in case you need more reasons why he's an allmighty cunt.
I give them all Celtic roots. Brighid is probably 300-500 years older than Alasdair, and then political solidification in Wales brought Rhys along and then Arthur as the reorganization of Celtic Britons in Roman Britain. This might be a hot take, but while the Anglo-Saxon ‘invasion’ in the 400s-500s brought Germanic rule and language to England, the Cumbrians and other Celts were not wiped out. Mostly it's a cultural shift. So he’s born as much a Celt as his siblings and experiences dramatic changes earlier in his life than they do. However, if you get to the root of English culture under all of the bullshit of empire and all the German royalty who built up their legitimacy by reviving Anglo-Saxon memory, history has more Celtic elements than someone might think.
In Northern England, Southern Scotland, Eastern Ireland, and the maritime fringes of Wales, there was an Iron Age tribe by the name of the Brigantes, whose name was taken from the northern goddess Brigantia, which means either ‘the exalted’ or ‘highlanders.’ Either way works for me because it is the root word of Brighid’s name, the Welsh word for prestige, honour, dignity and power, all things connected to fire, power and elevation. As all modern knowledge of her comes from 8 inscriptions and some statuary material, and her name is so goddamn appropriate, I’m running with it. It’s so close to Brittania. According to Strabo, writing about a now-lost account of a Greek sailor and explorer Pytheas, it comes from a feminine name likely from the Celts itself.
In the tradition of Catholic patron saints of specific places, Brigantia seems to have been a goddess associated with lakes, rivers, and coastlines. Saint Brighid, from the same name base, is the patron saint of Ireland, bastard children, babies, children, midwives, sailors and poets. Me, hitting a bong in 2021; yeah, that sounds like mother and daughter to me. Eirian, whose name is a version of the Welsh name for King Arthur’s mother because I’m ✨original✨ ruled her own kingdom directly. She was a queen regnant in a culture that saw that crop up often. She was a product of the Iron Age, a warrior culture where swords and a hierarchy of militancy ruled society. Brighid was her firstborn child, and very much her mother’s daughter, sharing that long, beautiful hibernian gold (think rose gold) hair down to her waist. She was tall and gorgeous, with a head for politics as well as martial talent, but Eirian was as much a goddess of the hearth as the sea and war; she still took her tributes in blood, and treasure. She ruled directly with iron and faith.
Brighid, however, while just as capable of that, had a personality that found early Christianity very appealing. It’s hard for us to imagine now, but 1,500-2,000 years ago, Christianity was, in many ways, a much gentler religion than some flavours of what we now call paganism. And while just as capable at every aspect of ruling as her mother, I do think Brighid has aspects to her personality that were kinder, a bit softer. She was an artist in the scriptoriums, a weaver, all these things in her golden age. And she was grown, or near it, by the time Arthur came along. And the gentlest things he remembers about his mother are usually Brighid. An image of a woman weaving, red hair pouring down her back as her fingers fly over the shuttle and her feet work the treadles. That is Brighid. Another of a woman’s elegant and quick fingers on the spindle, fitting the handle into a clumsy child’s hands, laughing when he gets frustrated. Also Brighid. Picking him up and giving him a raspberry even when he kicks to be let down because he wants to run everywhere, is also Brighid. Teaching him to put his knife into the kidney because he’s young, and that's the highest he can reach? That’s his mother. The two images, his powerful mother and his bright sister swirl together when Arthur gets into a strange mood.
He'll yammer away in Cumbrian and hum the tune of the songs who's words he cant remember. When she died in the 5th or 6th century, they scattered as their various regions expanded and solidified linguistically as Common Bythronic became Welsh, Gaelic, and Cumbrian (Scotland’s native Celtic language is actually extinct, replaced by Irish Gaelic in late antiquity.) England imploded under the pressure of the Germanic migrations, so I picture Arthur kind of wandering through his numerous kingdoms most of the year. Brighid may have, too. It was common for high-status people to go on progress and stay with the nobility from time to time in various European societies. However, I can also see her with her own mini-kingdom inside the Gaelic system of ranking kings, over kings and high kings. Arthur would usually spend the winter with one of his siblings. Usually Rhys, but he would have been welcome with Brighid for a long time, even as the wee cuckoo, half-German bastard that he was. He may have even lived with her for long periods. But once, she was power, and once she loved him and once he wasn't the cause of all the horror of her years. It was a different world before the Vikings came.

Best Aid - Part Two
Modern Tommy Shelby x Reader - Masterlist
Previous parts: 1
Summary: you are a young doctor in Birmingham. After a crazy incident, Thomas Shelby shows up at your hospital. You don’t know much about the man everyone seems to fear, but you definitely will.
Warning: Swearing, mention of blood
A/N: i don’t know if i will continue this… comment and interact, tell me what you think! it means a looot thank you very much
English is my second language so I apologize in advance for the grammar mistakes.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
You were surprised to see Thomas' name on the patient chart when you got back. Still in room 7. You assumed he would have discharged himself by now.
The doctor before you explained that he showed signs of infection on his blood test, and for some reason, his blood protein levels were higher than normal.
"Hey, ready for another long night?" Jeremy asked, sitting across from you as you read the exams, trying to understand what was going on with Thomas Shelby.
"Yes, after 24 hours of rest, I feel like I was born again," you joked.
"I heard there's a college party going on nearby," he said, and you took a deep breath.
"Oh god, we will be taking care of teenagers throwing up all night," you said already tired
"Well, not exactly. They're in college," Jeremy said, and you looked at him smugly.
"Are they any different?" you asked, making him laugh "I'm going to do my rounds," you informed and got up.
As soon as you entered Thomas' room you were surprised by the presence of his two brothers and a lady.
"I thought I told you about our visiting policy," you said irritably. It was already after 20:00, and the time for the visit ends at 18:00.
"You did," he said.
"gonna threaten us with hospital guards?" John asked, mocking you
Taking a deep breath, you kept your cool. You ignored the younger brother's comment and took the syringe from the drawer.
"I need some blood," you said
"You guys are bloody vampires, taking blood all the fucking time. He's gonna run out," Arthur spoke as you took Thomas's arm and prepared for the blood draw.
"Can you tell us why you are doing it?" The woman asked behind you
"Well, he has some signs in his blood that indicate an infection. So we need to follow up and see how he's developing. Unfortunately, hospital infections are common and aggressive," you explained while taking the blood
“But is he at risk?” she asked
“I can’t affirm anything yet. There we go," you said as you finished, getting up
“You have very delicate hands,” Thomas said as you labeled the blood sample
“It should be ready in a few hours. I’ll come back when it does” you said ignoring him and leaving the room.
"I hate him and his annoying brothers," you said, sitting next to Jeremy
"Who?" he whispered to you
"The Shelbys," you replied
"Oh...yeah. He's a jerk, and he thinks he runs this hospital," he said
"He actually does," Lauren said, putting aside her bagel "he is a member of the board."
"What?" you asked, confused "why has no one told me that before?"
"I don't know. I thought you knew," she shrugged.
"I am new here. How would I?" you asked "ugh, I literally scolded him. More than once," she laughed.
"I hope you don't get fired," Jeremy said, hugging you "I've grown to like your pretty face,"
"It makes sense now... he knows why a doctor was fired and why he knows where I fucking live," you said, connecting the dots.
"What?" Lauren asked, surprised "he knows where you live?" you nodded "did he threaten you?" you shook your head
"No, he didn't...but the situation made me feel threatened," you said and took a deep breath "I don't want to talk about it" they nodded, and the subject was changed.
The night was pretty busy, not busy enough to make you crazy and tired, but enough to keep you from sitting still for hours, in a perfect measure between calm and chaotic.
A notification arrived on your tablet, the button in room 7 had been pressed and attention was required.
"Can you please go?" you asked Jeremy, showing him the tablet screen. He rolled his eyes at you and walked away "thank youuu".
You continued to attend to the patients that kept coming in.
You were in the CT room, evaluating a patient who had arrived later with abdominal pain.
"Hey" you heard Jeremy speak behind you. You looked at him and saw that he was with Thomas in the wheelchair. "he wants to smoke, but it's raining outside."
"No smoking then," you said and went back to looking at the computer in front of you. Waiting for the images to appear
"She's being rude today," Thomas said, watching you making Jeremy laugh
"You haven't seen her during morning shifts.. let me tell you, she's not a morning person," he said jokingly, and you simply ignored it. Jeremy insisted "serious Y/n, where do I take him?"
"I don't know. I don't care," you replied shrugging and smiling at him ironically "please leave."
Jeremy frowned at you and didn't mean to contradict you and pushed the chair with Thomas, but he held on to the door causing the chair to stop.
"Can we talk?" Thomas asked looking into your eyes, you looked back at the screen
"Shit," you said looking at the images that were finally ready "Jeremy look at this," you said
"Holy fuck" he said leaning in behind you "what is that in her anus?" You laughed
"Oh god, I love night shifts," you said laughing, "I think it's a toy."
"Like a sex toy?" he asked
"No, not a sex toy… and I don't think it's only one…," you said impressed
"Jesus," he said with a pained face "Give the girl a laxative and see if she can get it out."
"I think we’re a bit past that. her intestines walls don’t look too good," you replied, looking at the other images and trying to see signs of any injury “and, yes we can talk. Not now for obvious reasons” You spoke to Thomas and got up to pick up your patient and finish taking care of her.
You decided to do a colonoscopy on her to try to remove it. When that was over you went to Thomas' room
"Don't you ever sleep?" you asked entering. it was almost two in the morning and he was awake
“I’ll sleep when I’m dead,” he said
"Great, we're being positive," you said and he smiled
"Did anyone try to break into your house?" he asked
"Seriously?" you asked and he nodded "ok, we need to re-establish some boundaries. I'm your doctor, period. I feel so violated knowing that you know where I live and what car is mine! you have no right to do that"
"Are you going to answer me?" he insisted
"No," you said, "is that it? is that what you wanted to talk about?"
"I need to know" he insisted, breathing deeply you gave in
"No, no one tried anything," you said "happy?"
"Hardly ever" he replied and you took a deep breath again "I was just worried"
"Well, you don't have to worry about me. As I said, it was no big thing I was simply doing my job. Now I ask, please don’t mention that again," you said sitting on the sofa and he nodded "let's see if your blood test is ready"
"I feel fine, honestly," he said "better than that lady, I assume" you smiled and nodded "what was in her?"
"You don't want to know, believe me," you said smiling
“You must know it's disheartening when you're not the doctor on duty,” he said, his eyes burning on you “other doctors are not like you"
"Like me?" you asked intrigued, was he flirting with you? Patients usually did, you never took any of them seriously…but for some reason, your heart skipped a beat at the thought that he might be.
"Yes, I can see your passion," he said “you like what you do”
“I do,” you said smiling and looking away “I must say, your exams look better," you said
"Can I get out of here then?" he asked and looked at you with pleading eyes
"no, but if you want to discharge yourself, you won't die..." you said
"One less patient bothering you, ey?" he joked and followed you with his eyes as you stood up and changed his saline.
"I don't think that way… but in your case, yes," you said and he smiled "sleep is good for recovery. So you better try to get some, ok?" he nodded and you walked to the door.
"Hey doc, I hope this is not crossing your boundaries but… Can get your number?" he asked when you were at the door.
"Don't you have it already? Boss," you said, mocking the word boss as it came out of your mouth, leaving him with a smile on his face when you left the room.
Later, sitting with Jeremy in the staff room you explained the whole situation that happened with Thomas on his last shift.
"If you ask me... it's kinda hot" Jeremy said surprisingly you
"What? please clarify" you asked
"Well, he's attracted to you that's obvious. even the way he looks at you, I saw it in CT today. He worried you'd get hurt and wanted to protect you like a 90's gentleman" he said making you laugh.
"Oh god..." you said
"if he asks you out, give him a chance. If his looks aren't convincing enough... remember he is rich" Jeremy said
"And maybe a criminal" you added
"Oh… those details can be overlooked" he joked "who hasn't been involved with a thug?" you laughed again
"I haven't!" you spoke
"Yet! Your's is just around the corner girl!" he said, "they say they are the bust fuckbudies you can ask for"
"Ok enough talking about this," you said changing the subject
The next day the hospital security asked you to move your car because they needed to do some constructions in the parking lot, recreating the gas passage. You had been warned of this a few days ago, but forgot to park away.
You simply gave the man your keys and asked him to do it, since you were busy.
"Hey" you heard behind you. Turning around you saw Thomas wearing a very expensive suit. He looked and smelled good.
"Disobeying doctor orders, Mr. Shelby? So not like you" you said shaking your head and putting aside your tablet
"Well, as amazing and intelligent as my doctor may be, I need to go," he said with his hands on his pockets
"I hope I don't see you here again," you said and he smiled and nodded.
"Everything is clear," Arthur said approaching you both, Thomas nodded at him
Suddenly a loud noise followed by a certain shaking of the walls surprised everyone in the hospital. Looking around, nothing seemed different. Outside, several car alarms were sounding.
"What was that?" Jeremy asked running passed you, on his way outside
"It felt like an explosion," Arthur said puzzled
You guys rushed outside the hospital to see a catastrophic scene. It was a big explosion.
"Call the fire department, please" You spoke to either one of them and ran to where the explosion seemed to occur.
Cars were on fire everywhere, and nurses and doctors now rushing to help the ones that needed. Some man screamed due to the pain of the burns. Luckly it didn't seem to have many casualties, running into the fallen men you gauged the gravity of each one.
You and Jeremy were helping one guy that had his arms burned, getting him ready to be placed in a wheelchair and moved.
"It's not safe. Other cars are going to explode" Thomas said to you "you need to get everyone inside" you nodded and looked at Jeremy.
Jeremy nodded and walked around the parking lot, warning one by one about the danger and telling tehm that they needed to get out of there.
"Other cars? Was it a car that exploded?" you asked and he nodded.
Looking around you saw the car burning more intensely, already destroyed. The shock came when you realized which car it was.
"That's mine" you muttered confused
"Your what?" he asked
"My car," you said almost in a sigh
"fuck, please tell me it was an old car," he said and you looked at him angrily
"No! it was new! I bought it when I moved back here. Damn it!" you said frustrated finishing securing the guy on the wheelchair and pushing him into the hospital.
Thomas was relieved you didn't connect the dots as he did. This hadn't been an accident.
"We need to go," Thomas said to his brother, marching to the car.

5AM headcanons as I slowly get back into Moral-ing
- idk how much from Narcissism the fandom accepts, but it does make me categorize Bloberta as the “prettiest” / most desired woman in moralton based on the fact that she made Putty climax with words alone.
- As goofy as that is it also re-contextualizes a lot. She is “off limits” even in infidelity because she’s the mayor’s wife.
- I also think if Dottie tried her routine on Bloberta, Dottie would end up crying wayyyyyy earlier. Bloberta’s numbness includes an immunity to gaslighting. Also there is one element that actually connects the 2 characters that I wanna draw. Here’s a different scene for now:
Dottie: Can I sit with you Bloberta so our kids can talk to each other and not us?
Bloberta: … you talk to your kids?
Dottie nervously lights a cigarette.
Dottie: I- uh, well I mean-
Bloberta puts out the cigarette by clasping the end with her bare fingers.
Bloberta: If you’re going to do that, I think you should sit somewhere else.
- Blobbie / Censordoll discourse is also interesting bc I think of it as “numb & barren” (ship name maybe?) - things kinda also come full circle. In Help: Bloberta fails to help Fran, feels like she helped Clay and marries him, Orel is born and goes on to be Fran’s main helper in her campaign against Clay, with signs made by Bloberta.
- Gay Clay vs. Bi Clay was a debate brought up in one of my streams and I said my answer keeps changing. There are “tactile” arguments for Bi Clay but they all really start to evaporate for me with the scene in honor. There is no exact science, it is just a uniquely gay anguish confessed. alsogayclayrhymes
- I think about Clay’s rise to office a lot and what exactly enabled him to do so, and I’m beginning to think he may have used his mother’s death in his campaign as he starts to pen her lost commandments into Moralton law. Much to Arthur’s dismay, which only encourages Clay to take things further.
- A newer idea but I feel like Danielle’s experience encouraging Orel might have kindled something, and if Fakey can go from coach to Principal so can Danielle.
- I think now that Bendy is reconnected with Joe, the Fakey situation will actually quickly lead to a restraining order. Since Bendy no longer has to telephone through Ms. Secondopinionson to talk to Joe, Fakey talks to Secondopinionson for updates on Bendy. I think Fakey’s mental state will decline between his ruined marriage and “mistress” cut off, but for some reason I think with Secondopinionson’s infinite patience she becomes a sort of friend + makeshift repressional since Putty’s having none of it anymore. In that circumstance I think Secondopinionson becomes comfortable speaking to him in her natural voice . I think Fakey loses his job to Danielle like above, then idk, gets part time work at Steph’s shop or something.
- The David Tuber interview mentioned that Orel goes goth but also goes atheist, and the blue heron as a symbol of his faith begins to follow him around. I think the “Nature rematch” would be Orel getting Ol’ Gunny with actual intent to kill the Heron.
- Which brings me to the tinfoil hat section. Consider this my “Season 4+”
- By this time Censordoll has a stranglehold on Moralton. With no role models and in complete nihilism Orel kills the Heron in anger. In absolute darkness Orel finds no solace, he then notices the Heron’s nest.
- I have no idea what Steven Universe / Demon Slayer script we’ll need to get to this point but I really think that if Censordoll is the “final boss” of Moralton it should end with her and Orel nurturing the blue heron egg until it hatches, roll credits.

List of Snicket-Verse Characters I headcanon as Asian Descent, Fully or Partly, with the One (1) Book Canonical Asian Character
The One (1) Book Canonical
Haruki [Murakami]: Japanese. Originally born in Kyoto in the Fushimi-ku ward, Haruki and his family moved to the City when he was six due to his father’s job (in the organization). When it comes to reading and writing Japanese, it isn’t as perfect as people assume, for Haruki spend more of his childhood reading and writing in English. Speaking Japanese though, Haruki can 100% do.
Headcanons Characters, ATWQ
Dashiell Qwerty: Chinese descent. Qwerty is an alias surname his family uses when out in the field for VFD. His real surname is Qiao, and whenever not in the field, volunteers call him Qiao. Or ‘Q’, if they can’t pronounce it. Dashiell has a technical middle name; his Chinese given name, Qiang. Dashiell is (was) only call Qiang by his parents.
Jackie’s Grandfather: Korean. Jackie’s grandfather full name in western order, is Pyong-ho Ahn, nickname in his youth as Moray. Phyong-ho used to manage Moray Wheels in the past in addition to racing, before retiring and allowing Jackie to take over. Phyong-ho by the present no longer goes by Moray, unless you’re a very close friend of his.
Jackie (Ahn): Korean descent. Jackie is really Jackie’s first name, though they do accept the Korean name their grandfather gave them: Jae-kyung. Jackie only answers to Jae-kyung if it’s spoken by their grandfather, their parents (now decease), and their aunt and uncle and cousin who lives in the City, finding it something special meant for family only.
The Talkie Brothers: Asian descent of different nationalities. Arthur Takei is of Japanese descent. Amit Sharma is of Indian descent. ‘Talkie Brothers’ came because many couldn’t pronounce Takei. They thought about going by “the Sherman Brothers” for some couldn’t pronounce Sharma correctly either, but that is used by a real pair of musically talent brothers.
Alice Lost, nee Takei: Japanese descent. The younger sister of Arthur Takei, Alice has a great talent of doing origami. She can make anything out of a piece of paper, but her specialty was making paper cranes. In fact, before her death, Alice was aiming to create 1,000, and had reached 1,000 exactly when the fire broke out at the Lost Arms.
Ornette Lost: Biracial. Japanese descent from her mother Alice, Irish descent from her father (Prosper immigrated to SBTS as a child with his parents). Ornette’s talent of (paper) sculptures came from watching her mother folding origami paper into cranes. Ornette feels connected to her mother when making origami cranes, and aims to fold 1,001 in her memory.
Headcanon Characters, ASOUE
Captain Widdershins: (French) Chinese Cambodian on Father’s side, and native Cambodian (Khmer) on Mother’s side. Widdershins does his best to feel connected to his former home country, be celebrating holidays that he can barely recall celebrating, making meals if the ingredients available, or speaking Khmer to himself and sometimes around Fiona. For that last one, Widdershins gave Fiona a Khmer [nick]name, though after an interaction with a volunteer, had Widdershins stopping it. Post-canon, he starts saying Fiona’s Khmer [nick]name again, usually when it's just the two of them.
Raymond ‘Q’ Quagmire: Chinese descent. Raymond is an adopted Quagmire due to his brother Dashiell’s death/murder. Raymond, like Dashiell, has a technical middle name that is his Chinese given name; Jiahao. However, for reasons, people assume Dashiell’s Chinese given name is Raymond’s, made worse because many had forgot Raymond and Dashiell are related.
Joan Quagmire [nee Morstan]: Chinese descent. Joan’s birth surname is Lau; Morstan is the surname of her adopted family. Two of Joan’s favorite games to play are Mahjong and Wei Qi (Go). While she’s not the best player of the latter, she’s brilliant in the former. Joan likes making her children (all together) play a game with her once a week; they never won.
Alex and Lindsey Morstan: Chinese descent. Being Joan’s triplet sisters, they were forced to play Mahjong and Wei Qi with her, with the latter being the game they’re best at. Alex and Lindsey are fonder of reading (translated) Chinese novels; Alex loves Journey to the West, while Lindsey enjoys Flowers in the Mirror.
Duncan, Isadora, and Quigley Quagmire: Chinese descent. Duncan, Isadora, and Quigley, pre and post canon, do their best to gain insight and feel connected to their identity, in their own ways. Duncan does it by researching Chinese history, particularly of the Chinese Dynasties (the Tang Dynasty is his favorite). Isadora does it by watching Chinese opera (she loves the costumes, and the singing style). Quigley does with the hands-on approach of preparing and cooking traditional Chinese dishes with help (parents and aunt pre-canon. Post-canon, Quigley get Hector or Widdershins’ help, sometimes the two adults together if needed).
Charles: Vietnamese descent. Charles’ full name is Charles Nguyen, the son of two Vietnamese people who lived half their lives in France before moving to the Land of Districts. Charles worked with his parents at their swanky restaurant, Nguyen Bistro; it serves traditional Vietnamese dishes as well as French dishes as an alternative. Charles took business (and cooking) classes to fully take over, but a mysterious fire that burned the restaurant and the apartment home, as well as killing his parents, changed his path.
Sir: Thai. An immigrant that came to the Land of Districts to escape his past, Sir found work at Lucky Smells Lumber Mill as a regular employee, before getting promoted to foreman. When the owner Smogface Wiley died, the mill was doom to close. However, Sir managed to get a trial run as boss, and later became the new permanent owner. Sir’s cousins working at the Mill is true; they’re the ones who made Sir escape his past in the first place. Sir had no qualms on the conditions they’re working, seeing how he survived it and worked his way upward (and maybe revenge).
(Regarding Sir’s unknown name, his first name at least, it’s Chalermchai. When he was a regular employee, Chalermchai was usually referred to or call by that didn’t require the foreman or anyone else to say his name. But when Chalermchai became foreman, people discover they were unable to say it, so Chalermchai became ‘Sir.’ Not many people call Sir by his first name nowadays. Charles says it, and even then, it’s rare.)
R, Duchess of Winnipeg: Biracial. Japanese descent from her father, Ryutaro (Second generation Japanese-Canadian), and French from her mother, Sabine (French from France and French Canadian). R is a naming pattern from her father’s family, for in Sabine’s family, no one ever had an ‘R’ name before (Sabine does have the alias of ‘Rhea’ though). R isn’t connected to her Japanese heritage as much as she likes; the most she knows of is Japanese theater, mainly Kabuki. The R engrave ring was something Sabine did herself, much to her mother (R’s Grand-Mère Thea) disapproval, for Sabine wanted the ring to be special for R when she gets it.
R’s heir, Ramona Q, and the Q stands for Quach (Quách): She's the daughter of two Vietnamese refugees who were very good friends with R. They confided to R about the odd interactions Ramona had with her local librarian, leading to R telling them things to do to keep their daughter safe. When Ramona’s parents died in a fire, R decided to adopt Ramona to lessen VFD’s influence. R loves Ramona very much, being an honorary aunt to the girl before adopting her, and does her best to let Ramona be connected to her culture (clothing, music, food; food is most common and accessible one of all).

Worth the Price of a Bottle of Pop
Tumblr media
So, anybody want a crack-fic with Kayne, Arthur, and too much sugar even for an Outer God?
Sugar calculations now included at the end, because why not?
AO3
-------------
“What is so special about you? I checked. I watched your life unfold, Arty. I went back to see… well. I watched you grow, you graduate, you fall in love! Or… like. Let’s call it like. I watched your parents kill themselves, I watched your wife die, your child drown… boy, you’ve had a lot of death around you!”
Which could be the reason, though boring as fuck. There was sometimes an aggravatingly stubborn balance the universe pooped out.
Like pinning a paintbrush to the canvas instead of letting it sweep.
Like stuffing a fist (with or without arm, unimportant) into a tuba before it went full Flight of the Bumblebee.
Like—
“And?” says Arthur, getting all tough (it was cute, Kayne could admit it, like a kitten going floof), as if none of that recitation had hurt him.
Oh, it hurt him. Kayne can see the bleeding, the deep and lambent ooze from the wounds in his soul this self-hating moron literally prevented from healing.
“And,” says Kayne, “I still don’t see what the big deal is. I don’t see why you managed to survive. Anyone else, and believe me, I’ve checked the math through trial and tribulation (though not my own)... anyone who would’ve opened that book and taken what you took from Hastur would’ve died. They all die! Popped like a ripe cherry.” And he laughs.
Because… well. They did.
Kayne hits pause and returns to one of his game’s saved states.
#
It isn’t enough to just watch Arthur’s life. Obviously, he’s missed something, so he tries again.
It makes sense to start with the closest connected factor?
But Parker just blows right the fuck up, and while it is pretty funny (the unpredictability of bloodstain patterns when magic was the murder weapon never ceases to delight) (and and and Arthur has a lovely screaming voice), it obviously isn’t the answer.
Whatever. He buys a bottle of pop (never quite tastes as good in later times) and returns to the game in progress.
#
“So?” Arthur challenges, just so very spunky.
“So what’s so special about the little boy from Arkham that made it so? What’s so strong about you that I can’t figure out?”
Ooh, from Arkham. That was an idea.
Pause.
#
Six tests in (and twenty-eight bottles of pop), Kayne’s finally sure it isn’t Arkham.
He tries people who moved there, and people who were born there.
He tries Anna Stanczyk, who’s indirectly tied to old Shubby via blood and family, and that doesn’t work.
He tries Frank Underhill, because at least that guy’s got a more direct connection to the idiot deities running around like bugs with delusions of grandeur.
Popped. Popped. Popped.
It ain’t location, and it ain’t blood. Hm.
Maybe it was Arthur himself?
Kayne goes back again, kills young Arthur, turns his body to ash, and lives his life.
It’s not like he hadn’t watched it a dozen times already. Really fucking easy to make all the same choices, and have all the silly conversations—
(And bathe in that self-torturing self-centered bizarro balance Arthur seems to have, which makes no sense because he hates it about himself but still chooses it and doesn’t even know why and isn’t that delicious?)
—and make the same connections and write the same songs—
(Maybe not all the same, maybe there are some special tricks hidden in the ones he performs himself for recording, but nobody’s gonna really notice until the bloodshed, and he timed it all to come true after the book opens so it won’t interfere with the test.)
—and fuck pretty Bella and make little Faroe—
(And she won’t come out the same, no she won’t, and surely it makes no difference to store her away instead of killing her because when she comes of age that’ll be a laugh and a half… but pretending she’s dead, anyway, which is so easy to do.)
—and making reluctant friends with Parker and becoming a P.I. and finally getting the gods-damned book in the mail and opening it up and—
Popped?
Popped.
Popped!
What the hell! He did everything right! It’s entirely Arthur’s body! Whatever he had in him should’ve worked, but nooo, instead he had to die, and ooze, and splatter Parker with skull bits, and that was a fucking waste of thirty-four years. Ugh!
He calms down by drinking fourteen bottles of pop in a row and melting the glass into madness-inducing runes.
Fine. Still no answers. Fine.
He peeks to make sure Faroe’s alive (because she is gonna be a riot when puberty hits), and finally resumes his game in progress.
#
“I… I don’t know,” says Arthur, which is not the answer Kayne wanted to hear.
“But you do. You have to, ‘cause if I don’t, that only leaves one other person. So we’ve both walked a mile in your shoes, kiddo. Take a wild guess: why are you so different?”
“What do you mean?” says Arthur, who really seems to be some kind of freaky one-off, and for someone so self-centered is really missing the point that this is all about him. “Why am I…”
“So different?” Kayne’s being patient because this has actually gotten interesting. “No wrong answers here. Come on, let me hear it. First thing that comes to mind. Shoot it out!”
And then Arthur makes up some absolutely Hallmark-level bullshit about being human, and Kayne has to pause the world again so he can laugh his ass right off.
Oh. Oh, that’s just… too much.
Human. Sure.
Though maybe it’s not completely off?
Kayne couldn’t replicate Arthur’s human soul, after all.
Could it be something… soul-related?
Huh.
That’d be weird.
Because Kayne sees souls (eats souls, shreds souls, cuts them into shapes and sews them together wrong), and Arthur’s really seems completely normal, utterly banal, which makes no sense unless there’s some kind of—
“What the fuck are you doing?” bellows Sothoth, and the whole, frozen world damn near crumbles down.
#
“What?” says Kayne with all the guilt-free confidence of a cat.
“There have been complaints,” says Sothoth, who looks like an office manager, whose double-breasted plaid suit somehow speaks money and dullness at the same time. “You’ve created at least a dozen unstable timelines, without warning anybody, in the span of an hour! What is going on?”
“Oh, it’s all for this guy.” Kayne waves his hand and points.
Sothoth adjusts his totally unnecessary c-bridge pince-nez (which nevertheless do a great job showing off the third eye he bothers manifesting) and looks.
There is a long, stupid pause.
“What the hell am I supposed to be looking at?”
“Right? You don’t get it, either!” Kayne feels weirdly justified in his confusion.
“It’s… a human, with part of… what the hell is that? Hastur? It looks like Hastur. Except it isn’t.”
“Yeah, that idiot tried to steal a portal and got cut in half. Hilarious, right? But lookit! He’s in a human! And he’s changed!”
“This shouldn’t be possible.” Sothoth’s tone has changed, too, and Kayne does not like it, because now, it is darkly and distinctly interested. “I don’t see why it happened.”
“Or why the human is alive.” Kayne can’t help boasting a little. “I’ve already checked him out. Little Arthur here is a great big weirdo! At least, I think he is.”
“An interesting human.” Sothoth is thoughtful. “How unusual.” His eyes (so many! That show-off) have gone a sick, corpse-yellow, and his red pupils slit with focus.
Nope, not letting that play out. “This one’s my game,” says Kayne. “I already licked it. My mess, my conundrum. I saw it first.”
“You’re just going to kill them,” Sothoth points out, which is completely accurate.
“Well, sure, but not yet. I want answers.”
Sothoth sighs and dabs his forehead with a handkerchief that matches his silk tie. He looks put-upon, wearily managerial, and his rings each carry more power than an entire exploding sun. “There. Have been. Complaints.”
“If somebody’s got a problem, tell them to come to me about it.”
“No, because you’ll just kill them, too,” Sothoth says, being so aggravatingly reasonable.
“So?” Kayne challenges.
Sothoth eyes him. “Are we going to come to blows about this?”
That’d be annoying.
They’ve already done it twice, and then had to go rebuild the universes from scratch or there’d be nothing to play in, and it was a pain in the ass, and all the resident Old Ones (great and otherwise) bitched the whole time, and it wasn’t fun, and Kayne doesn’t like things that aren’t fun.
Hence the killing.
“No,” Kayne mutters. “We’re not.”
“You’ll restrain yourself?”
Kayne snorts. “Sure, that’s what I like to do with my time.” Sothoth gives him a look, and Kayne rolls his eyes. “All right, all right.” He throws his hands in the air. “I’ll just deal with these two, okay? Just fuck with this timeline. For a while, anyway, until the little pea-bruised princesses calm down. I promise.”
He says nothing about the Faroe he left under Daniel’s tender care, because a fucking Freemason priest raising a girl in tight and miserable morality with chaos in her soul is bound to be hilarious.
Also, it’s not him messing with that timeline if she’s the one doing things, right? She lives there! It’s her reality to break!
Sothoth visibly does not believe him, anyway. Looks like he’s about to produce paperwork, or something.
Kayne crosses his arms.
Finally, Kayne’s fellow Outer God shrugs. “If you make a mess, you clean it up.” And he vanishes.
“Way to kill the mood,” Kayne mutters, and tunes back in.
“...that humanity that allowed this fragment of a god to stay within me,” Arthur is droning on, and it is still funny, but less than it was.
Kayne sighs. “Eh… maybe. Probably? Naw. No, I don’t think so. Maybe? Probably not. Got another guess?”
“I… I have no other guesses,” Arthur says, because he put all his pwecious heart and soul into that tooth-rot of an answer. “You know more than me, clearly, by a country mile.”
And Kayne cracks up.
Because even though he’d lived Arthur’s life, he had not expected that phrase, didn’t even know Arthur knew it. Surprise (which is delight) cranks the saturation back up to eleven and peaks his interest all over again.
What else can Arthur do that’s surprising?
“Wait,” says Arthur, doing one such thing right now. “You said you saw my life. My daughter. My wife. You… you lived my life?”
So Arthur caught that.
Even John had not, and John’s shock is just whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
“‘Lived’ is such a primitive word,” says Kayne, because he likes making people feel dumb. “Let’s just say… I understand you very well.”
Except he doesn’t.
He does not. This dorky little human, who would live and die and never make the history books, is surprising him.
“You know, I think I’m starting to like you,” he warns with great cheer.
And that should fucking terrify these two.
It doesn’t yet—but it will. It’s like making a joke they won’t get for a year.
This is all about planting seeds, after all, and seeing how Arthur’s soul makes them mutate.
So it’s worrying at Arthur’s emotional wounds via the music box, because Arthur’s soul bleeding is funny.
And it’s doomsaying to shake them both up and get them crazy to break away from “fate” (which isn’t a thing, but boy are these two afraid it is).
And a dagger, because a little violence never hurt anyone. Except whoever was on the other end, of course.
Then it’s off to the cheap seats, the metaphorical bleachers, where Kayne has settled in with some good old-fashioned popcorn and twelve 5¢ bottles of pop (real sugar, none of that corn garbage, which was funny as hell in terms of damage but tasted like absolute shit), and a show he’s going to remember for years.
And the dagger is used.
And the blood is great.
And everybody is wailing, and Kayne is having a blast.
Lucky them.
When he gets bored, he’ll kill them all—but he isn’t bored yet.
Lucky, lucky them.
(Was it luck? Naw. If it was, though, it’d be bad luck, and that sure was funny.)
So. This game. For a while.
Then off to see what Faroe is doing, and maybe nudge her along and see what she did if he went Vader to her Luke.
This, Kayne thinks, was well worth the price of a bottle of pop, and he cracks open another one and chugs.
---------
NOTES
So, hey! He drank 55 bottles of Coca-Cola.
In 1934, the bottles came in 6.5oz.
Each bottle contained 24.65g of sugar.
So, uh. By the end of this affair, he's had 1355.75g of sugar.
That's how you do it, I guess?
I am aware what I have wrought by creating a Faroe of this nature. We will see where THAT plot-bunny goes in the future.
And I'm quite sure all that sugar can't be good even for a being of chaos and death, but I'm sure as hell not gonna tell him.

also i just wanted to tell you my personal theory about the connection of death and Perrito
Death is Perrito hidden wish
this is a puss in boots 2 last wish fan theory i hope you guys like it
in the shrek universe is established to us that every creature is based on the real world fairy tale that was told to people but the difference is they are actually reasonable and creatures with their own thoughts and feelings
but the fact is the every creature in this universe can be born with the desire of the person, something someone wants so much that this desire turns real and affects the real world of the shrek universe
like fiona was destined to be a ugly ogre and never find her true happiness but her the desire to love shrek made her accept herself and even if she turned into a ogre she living a happy life
the wish of shrek to be accepted by fiona family was concentrated on the happiness potion and that made him turn into a human
the third film ended with arthur giving a speech so convincing that made cruel and violent villains turn into actually good people
so i think we can say that wishing for something in the shrek universe can turn that thing into a reality
but what happens when the desire of someone can give life to something that is concept not actual person
this the theory about death and how she came to life in the shrek universe
2:why he exists
well if you think about it every fictional creature can exist in the shrek universe by the desire of someone is not impossible to think that death could be born in the shrek universe
death in the movie is represented like a wolf using a black coat and scythes tools used to farming, but they are used here as weapons
death is well skilled in combat and he just lost to puss because he thought his work was over in that moment when he finally teach to puss the meaning of live
but there is something strange about him, why death choose to hunt puss for his last life not any other cat in the world
you can say puss is more badass and seeing him waste all his lives watching puss thinks he is immortal made him angry
but why he personally wanted to kill puss and try to help him realize he needs his friend and family
that is the question, he can be death himself but why he would have such selfish desire to violate nature and intervene in someone life to help him realize his mortality in the world
and also he doesn't fight puss he just scares him and make him running for his life most of the movie and only in the end where is only him and puss that they actually fight each other
there more to it than its seems
another character that could help understand Death more is Perrito the dog that was abandoned in a retirement cat home and later adopted by Puss and Kitty
well let's take Perrito his backstory tells he was throw in the river to die by suffocating in the water but who could saved him that day
who could actually helped him not to die
yes i think it was actually death that saved him seeing how poor Perrito would die in that moment he saved him
but there is another question
i don't think throwing dogs on the river is a common occurrence on the shrek universe but hear me out
Perrito actually lived a actual death experience and he feared for his life his desire was to have actual family, even if he tells us that they are just playing hide and seek this could be a lie to deal with the trauma of being intentionally killed by the people you thought loved you
so when the scene where death scared boots Perrito was the only one to help him feel more relaxed
and there is a weird connection between Perrito and death like they know each other very well
because Perrito lives through a death experience he became friends with death himself and this fact could be the reason why death was hunting boots
he wanted someone that could actually protect and care for Perrito so he actually hunted boots knowing he on his last life and he made boots feel fear because that would make boots retire and go the retirement home and find Perrito that was acting like a cat to be treated well
and he didn't attack boots in the retirement home because he knew that boots would run away risk leaving Perrito behind without someone to take care of him and after he helped boots realize why he needs Perrito he go away
humbling the legendary puss in boots
well this is my theory that death was born to Perrito wish to have a family because before the incident with Perrito almost dying we never seen death actually appear to anyone only on this movie
well you going to say right now
but before that movie dreamworks never planned on making death like actual villain his only here because he was a after thought
SHUT UP YOU MILK DRINKER
yeah he did not actually appear in any other shrek movie before this but that might be the reason why he exist
because before Perrito, death like actual person could not exist because nobody thought in the shrek universe death was someone friendly but only Perrito wish to have a friend before dying made death with the desires and thoughts of the people turn him into actual living being with his own desires and feelings
that why he connected to Perrito because Death was Perrito only friend

I think they’re finally done! Presenting, the Coronan gods! A lot of this is heavily based on norse/anglo saxon mythology, since ancient Corona is implied to have a celtic/anglo saxon culture. Eventually I may give these existing gods a bit more celtic influence, or add a couple gods from the Celtic pantheons. Also because of Corona’s close link to Saporia, I wanted to create a mythology that could co-exist with Saporia’s mythology.
First one is Woden, the king of the gods, also known as the first god. To Corona he’s a wise but tricky old man. He appears a lot in the King Arthur legends, giving him quests and warnings. While making this I found out that Odin/Woden was actually an inspiration for Gandalf so I tried to make that shine through
Next is Frigg, the Great Mother. She’s the goddess of motherhood and childbirth. She kept a VERY vigilant watch on Arianna and Rapunzel. For both her and Woden, despite them being the chiefs of the gods I wanted to gove them both a fairly humble appearance. They are everything the Coronan royalty should aspire to be- humble yet dignified and powerful and always eager to help.
Next is Tyr, the god of justice and smithery. After losing his hand he fashioned a new one from the black rocks. His red and golden armor is also another reason the Corona Guard wears such colors, although this fact has been lost to time. Just like his parents I wanted Tyr to still look a little humble, so I gave him very simple chainmail armor
Next up is Thor, the god of thunder and storms and in some parts of Corona the husband of the Sundrop’s human form. Some say he was born during the first storm, as soon as the first crack of lightning hit. Thor was a much tougher one to do cause I wanted him to look big and hefty and hardy without it feeling like he was unnaturally ripped. With his markings, scars, and eyes, I also wanted him to have the vibe of lightning is in his veins rather than ordinary blood.
Next is Loki, the god of fire, home and hearth, and of children. Unlike in the MCU and modernized norse mythology, he is actually a very gentle god though still cunning. He’s fierce as his flames however, and becomes enraged when a coronan child is hurt. In tribute to him many orphanages in Corona by carving a small flame on the door. For him I wanted him to feel like a walking wildfire, with very warm tones and some slightly flame shaped clothing
And naturally, after Loki is Sigyn, the goddess of victory. In Corona she’s a fallen Valkyrie, having been exiled by Freya after she refused to deliver a dying soul to Kaldur. She believed it was too soon, so for her disobedience she was banished from the Valkyries and stripped of her wings. After she fell, Loki found her and Woden eventually made her a goddess in her own right, technically outranking Freya
After her is Iris, goddess of the rainbow and servants and messenger of the gods. She is the lady in waiting to Frigg, and faithfully serves her Queen. I didn’t change much of Iris’s design since I achieved what I wanted to with her looking like a walking rainbow and very fairy-like, but I did add some headfeathers to give her a visual connection to Frigg.
Next is Lady Nimue, the goddess of the sea. She’s the most prominent of the gods in Arthur’s legends, constantly giving him advice whenever he needs and even his sword of legend Excalibur. Legends say that she resides in the waters of the Lost Lagoon, although Raps and Cass have yet to see her. With Nimue, I did a lor of blue and teal tones, and tried to make her look a bit like a sea monster. I really wanted to lean into that lady of the lake aspect and make her look like she comes from the water. I also tried to give her a dress that looked flowy and elegant, but would still be easy enough to swim in.
Next one is Freya, the goddess of beauty and war and Queen of the Valkyries. She has a personality similar to Athena, known for being very proud and hotheaded. Just like Tyr I tried to give her an armored look but make it a bit more flashy.
And finally, Janus, the god of time, change, crossroads, and gates. Janus is actually the most mysterious god in the Corona pantheon; as even none of their followers have seen their face. Naturally, the place Janus Point in the show gets its name from them. It is believed that Janus Point was a place where the gods could hear peoples’ prayers, and even communicate back or shoe themselves if they felt like it. Pre-Unification, it was also where every single solstice was celebrated. Because of the mystery and vagueness behind Janus, I tried to make them look very…well, mysterious 😂 But no, I wanted them to look very androgynous; where you can’t tell if it’s a man or a woman hiding under that mask. I also played with a slight harlequin theme, giving them black and white in opposite places and using a bit of yellow to break up the monochromaticness of it. And for the Sanders Sides fans that follow me, yes Janus Sanders was the main inspiration for this design 😂
