So, okay, it's well-known that there's a certain kind of transphobe who gets upset when you refer to a person by pronouns other than their "biological pronouns." This is, of course, stupid as all hell. Pronouns are not biological you fucking idiot. It's also not ungrammatical: grammar does not actually take a stance as to which pronouns to use for which thing. Semantics might have something to say about that, but even that is largely based on social agreement. Grammar might have a stance on how verbs should conjugate based on the pronoun used, but in that case most people will show their whole ass by goin "Well I can't use singular they because how will verbs conjugate? I can't say 'they is'" I mean, you could, but most people would consider that ungrammatical (but literally grammar is also in flux and changes through use), but you could also say "they are," because as it happens English already has a case where a pronoun can act as both plural and singular and verbs will conjugate as if it were plural: this mysterious pronoun is "you."

Anyway so not only is this often revelatory of the fact that a) transphobes are often language cops and b) they don't actually know shit about language, but within the context of Indo-European languages English is actually unique in one way: English has a lot of gendered vocabulary, but what it lacks is grammatical gender.

Grammatical gender is actually a more specific expression of a noun class system. Previously in linguistics people did use the terms interchangeably, but the former is more accurately a specific form of the latter.

A noun class system is ultimately just a method for typing nouns into categories often based on some arbitrary criteria, and they may have effects like requiring agreement in adjectives, verbs, affixes, etc. Grammatical gender is when those arbitrary classes are supposedly based on gender. Again, it is still mostly arbitrary, because there's no specific reason for idk the noun "lion" to be masculine, "moon" to be feminine, and "tree" to be neuter.

Anyway the conflation of noun class and grammatical gender has led to such claims as "in the Dyirbal language one of the genders is 'women, fire, and dangerous things,' isn't that hilarious?" which is inaccurate to say the least because what's being described isn't a gender but a noun class (that does contain women in it).

Masculine/feminine is of course a very boring system of grammatical gender. The old workhorse of masculine/feminine/neuter is okay if a bit boring. Anyway my personal favorite is the Swedish utrum/neutrum, commonly translated as "common gender" and "neuter". I don't know when the shift happened, but at whatever point in its development Swedish still retained the traditional Indo-European masculine/feminine/neuter division, and instead of doing the most boring thing possible and dropping neuter in favor of a binary masculine/feminine system they went for the other binary: that's right, grammatical gender in Swedish is yes/no.

Thank you so much! Yeah, that's definitely something I wanted to emphasize with this fic -- that no matter how alienated from his family Jason feels, how uncertain he feels as Red Hood in Batman's city, Bruce is still his dad and that's still his family. Nothing will change that. He's still invited to Shabbat! Even if he was straight up evil, he'd still be invited to Shabbat.

I think Clark would be considered a very nice polite young man, and Martha would say it's a shame he's not Jewish. She would say this about most of Bruce's potential romantic interests though. If she ever found out Hal was Jewish I'm sure she wouldn't shut up about trying to get them together (I like to think this matters so much to her even though the possibility of having biological kids between two men is...virtually impossible, so being Jewish isn't a requirement per se, but it still is for her!)

Finding Jason a nice Jewish girl is the top priority I think. Bruce already gave her grandkids. Martha has a new mission. And that's to get Jason as reconnected with her side of the family as possible, despite only being Jewish by patrilineal adoption.

I’ve been a fan of yours for a while and I think I might have *solved* a theory. Not rlly a theory but more of a possible explanation. Cybertronians are asexual but Knock-out is implied to be queer and in the infamous panel it’s said “the allspark messed up” or something along the lines when asked whether or not Knock-out was gay. I’m sure they didn’t intend for this, but in-show perhaps Knock-out was messed up in the allspark and can feel sexual attraction unlike everyone else. I’m not sure how it would work, maybe just a mental state and not a biological reaction, but if there statement was canon(which it’s not) this would b an explanation. Idk just a silly thought :))

People really shouldn't take the "glitch in the Allspark" thing as serious because it was a bad joke. The guy was trying to be funny but honestly it's kind of insensitive. If it was a he-robot flirting with all the lady ones (which has happened in previous shows), no one would have even asked the panel why he is straight!

Love can definitely exist in asexuality. Liking the way others look aesthetically doesn't require sexual attraction, and wanting to hold hands and such doesn't require attraction either. Knockout isn't an oddity among his kind because it makes sense that every Cybertronian could like other Cybertronians regardless of gender. They don't reproduce or have the same concept of gender as we do, so nothing biologically or culturally compels them to be straight or gay!

I think we even slapped a label on Knockout just for being fruity and flirtatious to the he-robots. No one is really calling him bi-romantic or pan-romantic, but I believe he should be seen that way. I think people are really quick to erase the possibility of bi/pan the moment they see homo-romanticism. As though it just wouldn't be "as fun" if they were anything but gay...

But anyway, the last thing we want to do is believe that LGBTQ+ people are glitches, mistakes, messed up, etc.!

I was gonna say like Michael, Mammon and Raphael but idk if it's fact or fiction if those three were made in the same image, hence why Mammon and Raph look alike and why Mammon was once learning from Michael

I think that's just kind of how adopted families work sometimes? In my experience, it's definitely how close groups of friends work sometimes

Even the twins aren't biologically related. They were created at the same time and so possibly share similar magic & a few features (their eyes) but other than that there's no genes involved

And about Mammon once learning from Michael & so possibly being made similarly like the twins;

• Michael & Mammon were possibly a similar deal to Simeon & Luke, and Lucifer and his siblings when he first took them in. And other than the twins there's no magical or """"biological"""" connection between them. So just because Mammon was once under Michael's wing I don't think they necessarily have such a connection?

• And about Raphael... I'm pretty sure that's because the devs straight up said they like that character design and have used it twice before in different games. But I like to think the in-game reason for the similarly is due to them being created close to each other with similar magic - not close or similar enough to be twins but instead to share some features

Also this is not that related but I really wanna talk about family in the Celestial Realm so...;

I don't think the Celestial Realm sees family the way the demons and humans do?

• Humans and (most?) Demons are born through biological reproduction. Whereas the angels are created by god but it seems like even though they throw around the term "brother" (simeon & lucifer, simeon & raphael) it doesn't mean the same thing. It doesn't necessarily mean family. For instance, if you consider the way Lucifer treats his brothers and even MC (whom he considers family) vs how he treats Simeon. He tends to treat Simeon closer to how he treats Diavolo & Barbatos - like a close friend but there's a distance there that isn't present with his family (he's more put together? with them than he is with his family)

• Even with Luke and Simeon - it's obvious to anyone looking that they're family. That Simeon treats Luke like a son, but they never even seem to consider that an option.

• Also given how easily Simeon & Luke are separated (or Mammon & Michael) the celestial realm probably doesn't see it as taking a child away from their parent but rather breaking an apprenticeship letting the learner move on to a more appropriate mentor

• I think Lucifer & his brothers were the odd ones out for creating a family unit and then sticking with it

GoW:Magni pt.2

So!!! I was recently informed that Magni is the only child that is not Sif's.

He is, in fact, an affair baby to put it nicely. The son of Thor and and giantess, Járnsaxa.

As confirmed by Sindri in the 2018 game "Sindri called the situation sordid story, sordid meaning "involving ignoble actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt." This is a direct reference to Thor cheating on his wife Sif with Járnsaxa."

Magni was Thor's first child and thus defacto heir to Mjolnir, despite Odin's possible dislike.

If we assume the GoW lore has some accuracy matching the real myths, Odin despised Magni for being mostly giant. Magni was his first grandchild, and Magni was probably a disappointment to him out the gate, thus immediately straining his bonds with Thor.

Thor clearly favored Magni between his sons, but that doesn't mean their bond wasn't strained, especially with how Thor used to abuse him and Modi. But Magni's not only Thor's first child, but Magni was presumably stronger, and possibly smarter than Modi. Magni could have likely had a lot of his giant heritage close at hand, particularly magically. I don't know if he had Jötunar visions, however it's possible he may have to an extent, thus his cockiness in his fight with Kratos.

His fate to live through Ragnarok was seemingly assured to him, not just through prophecy, but perhaps by his own magic. He didn't realize he was up against a man who's entire thing is breaking fate...

But I do wonder what his status as an affair child and 3/4 Jötun meant for Magni in Asgard.

Did all Aesir and Asgard know? Was it a family secret? Did Sif try to pass him off as hers for the sake of Odin's image, or did she simply put aside her hurt and anger at being cheated on for the sake of a possibly abandoned/motherless newborn Magni?

Did Modi know? Does Thrúd know?

Modi's status as useless came from his cowardice and low intelligence, from his incompetence. Could Magni's status of useless have actually come from his heritage and the, essentially, racism he likely faced for being mostly giant?

Magni seemed more largely accepted between him and Modi amongst Aesir, and I still firmly believe it's because of Sif. Either people simply associate her and him because of their hair, or she put in great effort, even at her worst, to try and make sure everyone who saw her best qualities, saw those traits in Magni. Or at least orchestrated a positive association between him and herself to others. Perhaps many Asgardians don't even know Magni isn't her biological son.

False snak-titan!!! (Snak-titans/concept was made by @axel-n0thing :3)

Originally in the picture there was blood but idk how I'd properly give a trigger warning so I took it out entirely. But he has mud and dirt on him rn tho

This is one of my ocs, J. seajelly! A false snak-titan created by one of my other ocs, (Squilliam Fancystrudel). While Squilliam had no other choice as to make him this way, he feels extremely guilty for what he's done to the poor teenage grump. J. Seajelly is a 14-15 year old grumpus with two moms, one being my oc (Zindie Grapejelly) and the other being @axel-n0thing's oc (Dion Seaskunk).

He, just like the other false snak-titans on hunger, represent one of the five main mega carnivorous bugsnax. His being a ruutamaga, a bugsnax similar to rootle but not entirely yk?

Ruutamaga have similar attributes to a rootle, such as hiding in dirt and mud in the original game. In hunger though, ruutamaga digs fully into the ground to hide and ambush unsuspecting grumpuses. It's a very large bugsnak with a large enough mouth to swallow a grumpus whole. While the mouth isn't shown on the actual icon it is there design wise. Ruutamaga is found in the forest and veggie gardens, not very few places for such a huge bugsnak to hide in unfortunately as the different climate and dirt matter in different sections of the island.

A false snak-titan is an artificially made snak-tita. Unlike ones made from either Goddess Hopi or the God Bandoo. Unlike a normal, biological snak-titan the grumpus that inhabits the false snak-titan (Say like J. in this situation), can be forcefully pulled out from the false snak-titan. The entire body that is seen being sone sort of cocoon or cage that hides and protects the body from harm on the outside. But on the inside is slowly eating and killing the host, so the entirety of a false snak-titan is to kill off the host slowly and painfully while inflicting pain on to others!

But for hunger, which is a completely separate island from either the damaged au (@axel-n0thing) or snaktooth, they are also representation of animals! Such as J., whos more or so based off of a mole!

Unlike other false snak-titans and biologically made snak-titans, J. is one of the only snak-titans to not attack you/journalist (Character in hunger that acts as the journalist is a grumpus named Rooklyn.) without reason. J. is usually seen poking his head out from the ground to watch the other grumpuses in the village, especially his mother and the children of hunger. He's only ever been aggressive when grumpuses are attacking another false snak-titan. Other than that he's only there to study and watch the other grumpuses in the island/other mini islands.

Whiskers!!!???

J. as a false snak-titan has whiskers for sensors! He mostly stays underground if he's not watching anygrump, and his eyes have slowly been failing him ever since he'd been turned into a false snak-titan. So whiskers are a must as he needs to navigate underground tunnels and dirt passages. Whiskers also help detect if there's somegrump walking over him without them realizing, giving him a perfect signal as to their weight and their stature. These are extremely useful for someone his big of size too! As he's the smallest of the snak-titans these whiskers can help him detect threats and possible predators, even if he doesn't have any!

Claws!!!???

Just like moles these claws are used more for digging and tunneling, while they can he great weapons for defense on his part J. doesn't use his claws as weapons. Instead using them as intended to dig and leverage for scrapping bark off of trees. (Which he does eat of as odd as it may sound)

Eyes!!!???

A very unfortunate side effect of being a snak-titan, especially a false one. The snak eyes that grow on their outer shell. Unfortunately in many cases for false snak-titans, their eyes are replaced with snak eyes. Causing the Titan to mostly be blind and or have impaired vision. While the eyes on the body do help slightly, it doesn't help most of the time. Especially for J., as they get very irritated from the dirt.

@alexmacc oh thank you!! this is a great question and i do want to preface it with i do not have any experience with infertility but i do have a lot of experience with illness & doctors. i think it's completely understandable to dislike this arc for any reason. and i'm sure the writers don't really know what they're talking about when it comes to science. but like. this is a sci-fi show and i'm not looking for accuracy. anyway, i personally kind of love it. i can't help but look at this show in "good faith." especially mulder & scully specifically.

(also!! there are spoilers that go into season 7&8)

to me, the foundation of the x files is mulder's trauma surrounding losing samantha but the journey of it is through scully's trauma. we experience hers in real time. and this one is deeply personal & relatable, like her cancer. not being able to have children is devastating, the language surrounding infertility is painful. (although i can never remember if infertility was clear at this point — when he found her ova, or in emily.) scully thought about having kids, at one point she didn't think she was cut out for it, it was a distant hope & possibility. i don't think she truly dreamt of having the typical family life beyond the way she sometimes tried to fit society's ideal, the way she had it drilled into throughout her life. but i think she always thought she would have kids eventually. she loves kids, i think she loved having siblings, she loves & values family. mulder's love & dedication to samantha is something that attracted her to him.

in memento mori, when mulder learns that scully's ova is taken from her...she's dying, going through treatment in the hospital that's making her sicker by the day. i don't think mulder could bear giving her that news, not after learning in home that she does want kids. not after her abduction, losing melissa, her cancer. so he waits. and then his hand is forced when scully finds emily and learns she's her biological daughter. scully's hurt that mulder didn't tell her, but i don't think she really faults him for it. she can barely handle the information now, learning it while she had cancer...i can't imagine it, idk how you carry that when you're dying. i don't know how you can fit that in your brain, in your grief when she's about to leave behind her family and mulder. in a way, it doesn't matter when you're dying, but she's never been able to face her abduction and she's being forced to. mulder tries to help her, encourages her to at least talk to the mufon women as an investigator if she can't handle it on a personal level. (the way her voice cracks several times in these conversations. when she says they're not all dead. scully doesn't want to believe she's dying either.) (she calls him first for a reason, she tells skinner with mulder at her side for a reason, she apologizes to skinner for making it awkward/uncomfortable...)

what makes me love it is that...mulder calls what happened to scully medical rape. he yells it at emily's doctor, demanding he help emily, rightly accusing him of malpractice, calling him & anyone involved medical rapists. and that's exactly what they are. they conduct these tests on people, steal women's ova, and use them & their children for more experiments. giving life to these children for the express purpose of experimenting on them, and ultimately killing them or letting them die. it's so sick & twisted & inhumane and you want to believe it unrealistic...but it isn't.

i just think that's really powerful. it's painfully real. it's something doctors & the government have done. and the x files so rarely calls things exactly what they are. mulder directly calling it medical rape — and once again, not forcing scully to confront it until she's ready & it's on her terms — this is a big reason i can't hate it.

i love mulder in emily. he walks into that room, sees scully with emily. sees scully's cross around her neck. he's terrified. he doesn't want scully to be hurt again, and he's afraid that's exactly what's in store for her. he knows emily wasn't born to be loved, to live. she's an experiment to this government conspiracy, a means to an end. but mulder will always do what scully asks of him, and he goes into that meeting determined to convince this judge scully deserves to be with her daughter. he lays out the facts he has, and the judge has a hard time believing it but emily is undeniably her biological daughter. the dna tests prove it.

the way mulder says everything is important too. there's no precedent for case like this. scully had her ova stolen, she can no longer have children. but somehow, unbeknownst to scully until now, emily exists. and scully wants her. it's wrong to keep them apart, to take this chance from scully, to deny this little girl a mother who loves her after she's lost the only parents she knows. scully found emily and she stayed and she fights. she learns about her illness, makes sure she gets the medical care she needs, and does everything she can to find & understand the cause so she can help her. they describe emily as having special needs because of her condition, her "illness."

scully is judged because she has an intense, time consuming, dangerous job. she hasn't had any recent long term serious relationships in the eyes of the law & adoption agency. she's single and how would she take care of emily on her own? at one point, mulder is mistaken for emily's father and he turns away. scully takes it on alone, but she isn't alone. mulder really is there every step of the way. he would do anything for scully, and he would do anything for emily. it's so painful that they can't have this. mulder finds a cure, supposedly anyway. but scully tells him she won't put emily through more tests & pain & experiments. emily wanted it all to stop, and her parents were killed because they were going to stop. scully was prepared to let emily go as peacefully & comfortably as she could. so mulder didn't tell her. another decision i don't think was easy. it wouldn't have ended. even if emily was cured, she wouldn't have been allowed to stay in scully's care. the reality of courts & the conspiracy.

in per manum, we learn scully went to doctors to treat her infertility. once she had her ova, she brought them to a doctor and in vitro might work. and she asks mulder to be her donor. another crazy, beautiful layer to their relationship. scully wouldn't want a random donor, and there's no one she loves more, trusts more than mulder. despite what he hid from her in a futile attempt to protect her. (again, i don't think she really faults him. she almost never does. it's just painful. painful that he would hide anything from her, especially something about herself. but they both know very well how scully struggles to face what's happened to her, and everything goes back to her abduction.) protecting each other is what they do, they just have different methods sometimes. and i don't think there's a way to know what's right until consequences smack you in the face. it's easy to objectively say something is wrong when you aren't the person dealing with the situation, or in hindsight. it's always more complicated when you're facing it in the moment.

like. i just can't hate it when it gives us so many incredible moments. the vulnerability, the gentleness, the compassion, the anger, the pain. it may all be wrapped up in an alien government conspiracy but the connection, the emotion, cancer & infertility, evil...it's all real. there's relief & catharsis, a freedom & safety. it gives a voice to things often buried. it's part of the beauty of the x files, to what mulder & scully do.

and then the reversal...well. i also love that but i'm gonna save it for my william arc post.

Should Rise as a whole be considered a Separated au? Because originally in the third season, the turtles were going to get two extra sisters. Actually nvm probably not because we never actually got the two extra sisters!

Anon you're gonna regret asking this.

This post is going to be rambly but the short answer is yes. Whilst there isn't alot of stuff to prove the existence of the sisters, there still is evidence none-the-less.

SO, I'm going to start with my definition of a separated AU: A separated au is where at least one turtle is raised separately from the others to a point where it makes a difference in how the turtles interact with eachother.

This would be appicable to the original plan for rottmnt because one of the sisters (Sister A) was going to be raised by Draxum to be his bodyguard then ended up in a different dimension and went a bit insane. The other sister (Frida (renamed from Venus de Milo?)) is Big Mama's Assistant and shes serious. idk why i explaied this (i wanted to)

Back to evidence, Ron Corcillo and maybe someone else have confirmed that the lost turtles are the boys' sisters. Plus evidence can be found in "Goyles, Goyles, Goyles" but I couldn't find the exact screenshot I was looking for.

If I were to be honest, I was somewhat expecting someone to submit rottmnt as a competitor. The only thing I can really think of is that the sisters (in the show) can't be in an au because its canon but woulod that then consider canon as the og au.

Now a complication I think of is if the sisters aren't turtles, do you consider them as a separated au. Personally, I would consider it to be a sep au as long as they are considered siblings. It is confirmed that they are turtles but I think of the possiblity since Big Mama's Assitant doesn't look very turtle-y to me but that could be because of alot of reasons

Under the cut my thoughts on if other iterations are separated aus because i think about this alot.

Batman vs. TMNT movies doesn't seem to be a separated au, they were just on vacation to Gotham from what I can tell.

In IDW, Raph was separated from the rest of the boys for a bit and it did impact their relations some so maybe. I haven't read that arc so I'm unsure how long Raph was gone. It also begs the question, was he surviving circumstances or was he being raised in some way. I think there is a certain age for separated aus vs like kidnapped aus or smth.

For 2012, my ansgty self likes to consider it a separated au because Miwa/Karai is the child of Splinter but then was raised by the Shredder. Then she realized familial love and was like seeya to the Shredder (i havent finished the series yet).

In Next Mutation, I guess its technically a separated au because the turtles were separated from Venus when they were mutated but they also used that the turtles "aren't biologically related maybe" to use Venus as a romance plot (Venus deserved better fr).

I was going to add more but then I forgor so heres these ones.

I have one (well, technically 2), but I don't really do much with them because fandom ocs are admittedly not really my thing unless I'm accidentally turning my player character into one (Aeris Sharphawk my beloved). My vessel ocs are a pair of twins called Hawthorne and Thistle, but Thistle was killed when they were both teenagers, their mask shattered beyond repair, so Hawthorne took their shade into themselves. They now wander the wastelands between kingdoms to bring gentle deaths and quiet burials to those who are lost, and are mates with a firefly called Flicker, who WAS a graverobber before Hawthorne caught them. I don't really do much with 'em other than think of them fondly sometimes.

As for vessel headcanons, here we go!

-Vessels who are capable of surviving outside of the egg (true-voided, or at least mostly-voided) have a body that is basically void doing its damned best to mimic the internal organs and function of living bugs. It's material that's working off of the genes left behind by PK and WL to construct a Creature, but since it's still just primordial goop trying to be a living being, everything is a little more elastic or flexible than a flesh-and-blood entity. Hence why Hollow could do their tentacle attack, and why Ghost could '''eat''' the crystal heart by just...idk, absorbing it through their chest

-Technically breathing and organ functions aren't 100% essential, but since they started off as biological beings that then were formed of void-goop, their bodies will panic after a long time without it. Just because they're made of void instead of proteins doesn't mean that they don't still need some semblance of a living vessel. Blame PK's genes holding a biological memory of being a wyrm pre-ascension for that one

-They don't need to eat unless they are lacking in void, though, so hunger isn't really a thing that bothers them. The only time they really feel it is if they are about to go through a molt and need a hell of a lot more void to grow bigger, or if they've been severely injured and need to regain a lot more of it. What they eat doesn't matter- they're capable of turning everything from bug chitin to steel into pure void

-Their masks are sort of the main thing holding them together because it's a strong reminder of what their form is supposed to be. Without it, their exoskeleton will dissolve and they will just sort of melt out as an amoeba-like being of void, which is what the shades are. Not being able to find their masks again/the masks being shattered beyond repair is what causes a 'death', where the shade is unable to return to their mortal shell and is instead damned to live in a transient state until someone dissipates their form. Entering another's mask cannot be done without explicit consent

-Because they were all formed from the remnants of a long-dead ancient god, they all share a sort of telepathic link, as if they were all still singular parts of one massive entity. Cutting themselves off from one another is possible, but it is distressing to the individual. This is also why they are far more social than the other gods; technically they all view themselves as one unit rather than individual parts

-Their communication is not based on an exchange of words, but rather on a lack of it. You can't really call void communication 'voidspeak' because of it. Even if they call or hum to each other, it is more of a vibration through the void sea or a deafening of silence that forms their communication, if they aren't just directly impressing their thoughts and feelings into the other's void so that they know what each other are thinking

-Speaking of that, they don't think in words, but in shapes and sensations. Technically speaking, translating those shapes and sensations into sentences is possible, but it would always be taciturn, awkward, and lose a lot of the inflection behind it, because you're trying to turn a three-dimensional parcel of information into a two-dimensional sentence with past or present tenses. It just doesn't work very well, and this is why very voided beings like Ghost or Hollow probably wouldn't speak very often even if they had the ability to do so. Same with sign; I headcanon Hollow to learn sign, but only speak in very simple sentences or single-word fragments, while Ghost knows sign but just doesn't use it at all. Better to impress their thoughts onto an other's mind than to bother with something that loses so much of their meaning

-Attempting to understand a void-impression on your thoughts is also quite difficult without practice. You have to actively listen and allow their thoughts to mingle with yours to get an idea of what they mean. Most of the time, it manifests more as you subconsciously understanding what they are telling you with a glance or body language than being actively aware that they are touching their mind against yours

-Void is tied to regret, the lack of all things, death, and entropy/lack of entropy. Void beings, then, are capable of sensing the shadow of regret within other people, the areas where their bodies are not, and what is set in active decay and what is held in stasis. In a way, they view people less as a form existing in empty space, and more the area where there is no empty space- if that makes sense

-This is also why void beings tend to be more passive gods. The Pale King, White Lady, and Radiance all needed active worship of their different elements to receive sustenance. In contrast, there will always be death, regret, fear, and silence given freely from the populace, whether they are aware of it or not. Active worship is nice, but it is not necessary, because there will always be someone who fears or is becoming one with the void

I had wrote some of these for my old blog but forgot to save them so i forgot what i wrote and now I have to start over haha

Is between 5'4-5'8

Mostly because she does give off tall goth mommy vibes but also gives off short angry troll vibes(I'm 4'11 I'm allowed to say this)

I think she's like 22-24

It's stayed at some point that she takes online college classes right? Or am i insane?

I do 100% think she's the wizards daughter I mean it does line up and if she's not then wtf

It's more than just the hair

But even then like isn't it said that she only dyed it ONCE and the color just never went away?

Like I feel like its one of those things where she had to activate the trait for it to show up

Like Idk if you've seen Barbie in a (and a?) Mermaid Tale but like

Barbie(her name isn't barbie but i cant remember what it is) doesn't show any mermaid traits at all until shes a certain age then she does things to trigger it(like going in the water and being able to breathe or her hair turning pink.)

Or traits that have been there already now making sense(her being obsessed with the water and surfing)

For Abigail, she just needed to dye her hair that specific color in order for it to stay in that state

And she has other abilities like being able to see the Junimos when literally no one else but the farmer and the wizard can.

And her love of adventure and the unknown

And i think she is a witchy girl along with Emily

Also the fact that Caroline hung out near the wizards tower then got pregnant with Abby

I think she still hangs out there sometimes or maybe its a mod or maybe I'm delusional(this one is a fact)

N e ways i've gone on too long about this

I think she would study for something like archaeology or something or like game development.

Does play video games as much as she can

Does rage quit

Gets angry when she dies

Though its canon that Abby and Seb would end up together if not with the farmer(I think?)

Highkey a toxic gamer but her outbursts are funny so it's allowed

I think she likes games like Undertale, the Sonic games, Mario, hates Valorant with a passion but still plays even though it only makes her angry

I feel like her feelings for him are shallow

Not in a bad way

But in a theres no one else for me to realistically end up with or crush on type thing

Like unless she's going to date one of the girls(I think Pierre is homophobic) Seb is her only choice

I do sorta ship her with Haley tho (goth gf x pink gf)

Does wish to be in the adventurers guilde but i also think she would be terrified

Also realistically I feel like she knows it wouldn't work out for long. Though she does sometimes go in the upper(lower?) levels of the mines.

100 percent prefers her mom to her dad

I think if she ever found out about the wizard possibly being her father it would make her be the most torn she has ever been

Because on one hand she does love pierre hes the man that raised her and I dont think she would accept cheating AT ALL and it would hurt her to know hes not her biological father

But on the other hand she would find it cool that theres a reason for her weirdness

Like theres a reason she can see the weird creatures in the forest when no one else can(to her knowledge)

Theres a reason for her longing to venture out and explore the unknown

And the wizard is pretty freaking cool seeing as she hangs out next to his tower often

Either showers everyday or once every 3 days there's no in between

Probably does want to travel at some point, maybe when she has her own money to spend.

If pierre wanted her to take over his store when he gets too old she would refuse

Is sorta sad she doesn't have any siblings, but at the same is glad because she only has to worry about herself

Learned to play the drums as a way to let out her anger

Has an okay voice when singing, but doesn't know how to properly hit notes without fucking up her voice

i feel like being descriptively disabled (having a disability that interferes with your function in some tasks, roles, and/or other contexts) and being legally disabled (labeled as disabled by your government and subject to laws that only apply to people legally labeled as disabled) are different things, sometimes. like, populations with a lot of overlap, but still distinct experiences.

like... i am less descriptively or functionally disabled than some people that i am simultaneously in an indescribably worse situation than legally, simply because i am legally labeled as disabled by my government and therefore there are human rights abuses that it is entirely legal and even encouraged to do to me--abuses that are not legal to do to other disabled people because they do not occupy the legal position of disabled despite being descriptively disabled.

like, the fact that i am legally registered as a developmentally disabled person means it is perfectly legal for my biological family to push for and claim legal ownership over me for life, and i have little, if any, say in the matter. this is one of the reasons i legally changed my name and am incredibly anal about making sure my old name isn't connected to my new one, and one of the reasons i've cut all contact with my biofamily despite wanting to be friends with my siblings. and when i say "legal ownership," i mean that quite literally. it is entirely possible and legally encouraged for them to reclaim the ability to control my money, medical decisions, and living situation, for the rest of my life.

(i can't get rid of this power. i could transfer this power to my spouse if i get married, but i can't get married, since that would cut off my health insurance and income, also due to my legal status as disabled.)

there are plenty of autistic people who don't have to deal with this. many of them face even more significant developmental challenges than i do, and have more difficulties in their daily lives as a result. they may even have a diagnosis--having a diagnosis doesn't automatically register you as a disabled person with the government, you generally have to pursue benefits or other social welfare for that to be relevant. and yet, i still face this legal unpersoning simply because of bureaucratic chance. it has nothing to do with the severity of our disabilities, or whether they're physical or mental, or what challenges they present, or even what they are--it's just down to literal chance.

idk. been thinking about this a lot lately. disabled people who aren't legally disabled don't seem to have a lot of understanding of what my life is like, generally, which can be frustrating. sometimes i don't relate to a lot of "spoonie" or other disability spaces because they're focused on a particular disabled life that's inaccessible to me--one where you're struggling with functioning in a life where you have access to all the typical privileges of legal adulthood, and you can use typical adult legal privileges to navigate your functional struggles. but my disabled experience is that i'm struggling with functioning in a life where i am legally considered to not be a full person, and trying to navigate living my life without basic human rights, meanwhile i also have functional issues on top of that, but i have to navigate them in an entirely different way so that i don't ever set off any governmental alarms that could get me institutionalized or put in a conservatorship.

DARK AETHER STORY UPDATES

Shitting myself. Spoilers below

Okay so basically a new cutscene is out and wow do I gave feelings

The first thing is that Samantha is (likely) still in the Dark Aether. Requiem failed to save her and its safe to say that Weaver and Grey are the ones who didn't take it so well. Or maybe just Grey

Unless she found her own way out, she's still there. I think they're definitely pushing towards her being the Entity. A little predictable but I think Ava being Grey's daughter makes Samantha being the Entity more interesting (if she is)

If she's not the Entity there is definitely some sort of connection

Also, more possible hinting of Ava's (biological) parents

We already know Grey is Ava's birthmother. This could be hinting at Ava's other bio parent (I think it's more implying that her other parent was a part of Requiem, OR that the other parent is actually alive still)

I've seen ppl saying Carver was, and I see why bc he's in the image, but I feel like Carver isn't significant enough for it to really hit if he was the bio father. Like yeah, okay, much more interesting options than him

There's a part of me that feels like it's gonna be Ravenov bc the way he says it plus how he says "are" afterwards. It doesn't seem super likely but I wouldn't be surprised, ig??

I'm getting more and more convinced Ava is actually just the Greysam baby. Sam wasn't freed, but I do think maybe the Requiem members had actually gone in or made some brief contact. Long enough for Sam and Grey to do some crazy ass shit like this. Or Sam's DNA was used to make Ava in their brief meeting

And its not like it's impossible gene wise either. Rare, but not impossible

It could be sperm donation as well. Or maybe she's a test tube baby. Or the 2nd coming

If it's not hinting at the other parent (which isn't unlikely) it could also just be emphasizing who her birthmother is. Idk regardless I think there is a lot more to this part than meets the eye, and the scene itself is not just speaking about her adoptive parents
