Earth is nothing like you expected it to be. There are a lot of planets in your home galaxy that can support life as well as millions of other planets in other galaxies around yours. Still, you never expected Earth to be so similar to your home planet, Xenia--a thriving ecosystem, corrupt governments, billions of people, and large bodies of water that cover most of the planet.
The only difference is that your planet is home to one of, if not the evilest man your galaxy has ever seen. Xenia became a breaking ground for bad ideas, and they all point to the one who made you: Markus Hottle.
To most, you look like you're in your late twenties or early thirties, but you're much older than that. You've just had your one-hundredth birthday, and you know you've got a lot more to go through before you die. What Markus did to you caused you to nearly stop aging; just another side effect of his experiments.
It's why you fled your planet and have been on the run ever since. You've spent fifty years jumping from planet to planet, always avoiding Markus when he sent his goons to chase after you. You've been running for so long that you don't know what a home is anymore.
Yours was destroyed the second Markus had your parents killed.
Will Earth be different?
Xenia has always thrived on the creativity and knowledge of other people. It's what made Xenia so successful with businesses, its own ecosystem, and its communities. Earth has none of that. You landed on Earth in the year 1000, and they're nothing like what your planet is like. This planet is filled with poverty, famine, greed, struggle, and a corrupt elite community who think they're too good for everyone below them.
With your knowledge and power, you could easily fit your way into the elite status, but then who would help out those in actual need? Who can they turn to when they need help? You don't have any healing powers, so you can't aid them medically, but you can offer them something else: agriculture and clean water. You're still getting used to your new life Markus forced upon you, but if you can help others while doing it, then you have the obligation to do so.
They don't have the resources to build a new world, and you're not going to freak them out by showing them you're an alien, so you'll use what they have to help them. Something you often did back home with your mother, was make clothes for all of your friends and family. You love sewing and creating something out of nothing, and seeing how the poverty is dressed, you think you can help them by providing them with clean clothes, blankets, and other types of means to stay warm.
It didn't take long before communities came to your town to buy your clothes. Most of the time, you didn't want them to pay since you're not doing this for the money, but some refused to take your clothes without paying for them. After five or so years of being in that town, you've come to make friends with almost everyone. Along with clothes and blankets, you'd offer clean water for them to take with them--as much as they needed. It's not much, but that seemed to make their day.
While Earth is not as technologically advanced as Xenia is, you're enjoying your time on Earth and hope that Markus doesn't find you here. Your home is on the other side of the known universe, so you think you're safe for now.
The bell on your door rings, signaling that there is a customer in your store. You look up and see one of your regulars with a tired look on her face.
"Alice, are you alright?"
"Yes. My youngest is not feeling too well. The poor thing is hot and cold and is not getting any better. I came in here hoping you might have something that could help?"
"Of course. I have more water for you to take home to your family. I have made some more blankets, which are in the back. Please, help yourself. I do not want your son to be cold."
"I do not know what this town would do without your generosity."
"I am just happy to help." The bell on your store door rings again, and you give Alice a warm smile. "I will be back there in a few moments."
She leaves to the back to browse your collection while you turn to the new customer. You're about to greet them when you see the most handsome man you've ever laid eyes on--and you've met millions of people.
He has a square jaw and pink lips. He's muscular which is defined by the blue and gold suit he is wearing. He has short hair with a sliver of white in the front. He has the prettiest of blue eyes--they sparkle like the ocean does when the sun is rising. You've only lived here for six years, but you've never seen this man before. Who is he? Why is he here? What does he want?
"Hi. Welcome in."
"I hear you are the best clothesmaker in town."
Ooh, and he has an accent.
"You heard right. What are you looking for?"
"Anything that will make it look like I belong in this town. This kind of sticks out like a sore thumb," he says and gestures to his suit.
"I have never seen that or you around here before. What is your name?"
"Ikaris."
"Well, Ikaris, I must pick your brain about where you came from, but I can help with the clothes situation. Follow me." You lead Ikaris to the section where you've made some clothes specifically for men. You grab something new you're working on and place it against his chest to see how it might look on him. You pause and look into his eyes. Wow, the blue in his eyes is shinier up close. "I believe this one will do."
"Thank you."
"Please, try it on. I do not want you leaving here without a proper fit."
There is a section you've blocked off with a wooden partition you've created. All the stores in Xenia have these, but you've resulted in using what humans have made available. A lot of businesses are run outside, but with your powers, you've managed to make a store big enough to have a few people in at a time. Humans wondered how you got there, to begin with, but they were easily won over by your generosity.
Ikaris walks behind the partition and tries on the shirt, and you grab a pair of pants you made before handing it to him. The partition is low enough so you can see his face, but you can't see anything else. He maintains eye contact as he tries on the clothes, and he smiles once he knows it fits.
"How do you like it?"
"It is very comfortable. How much for these?"
"No need. I do not need your money."
Ikaris walks out with the clothes on over his suit. You're not sure why he didn't take his suit off, but you don't comment on it. There is something about Ikaris that catches your attention, and you're not sure what it is. It's like he isn't from this world. It's in the way he speaks and the way he carries himself. He seems a lot older than what he looks like, and the more you spend time with him, the more you see that.
A couple of months have passed since you first met Ikaris, and you two have been spending a lot of time together. You're starting to really like him, and you believe he likes you too. There are some days you like to close up shop just to enjoy the day or buy food from the vendors around town, and today is no different.
You and Ikaris are walking down a beaten path in the woods behind the town you live in because it's less crowded.
"You never told me how long you have been here in town."
"Quite a while."
"You are very mysterious, you know that?"
"I do," Ikaris chuckles.
You two continue to walk, but you pause when you feel the ground rumble. You look to the side to see a gnarly yet beautiful creature inch toward you and Ikaris. The creature is bigger than anything you've ever seen on Earth, and it's iridescent blue and purple that shines whenever it moves. It opens its mouth to bare its very sharp teeth, and your eyes widen in fear.
"Look out!"
You push Ikaris out of the way just as the creature pounces on you. You go crashing to the ground as it drags you twenty feet. You reach up and grab its upper jaw to prevent it from snacking on you, and Ikaris looks at you just in time to see something truly amazing happen.
Your eyes shine dark red and orange and fire forms at your fingertips. As if it's second nature, you place your fiery hands on the creature and let the fire spread throughout. The creature cries out in pain, and you kick it as hard as you can which causes the creature to topple over you so that you're free from its grasp.
You gasp and back away from the burning creature only to back into Ikaris.
"You're bleeding," he says.
You look at your arm to see a huge gash where the creature must have scratched you.
"Don't worry, I'll heal."
Just like that, your skin starts healing from the damage taken to it, and Ikaris watches with curiosity and concern.
"Are you an Eternal?"
"What the hell's an Eternal?"
"Come with me."
He takes one last look at the deviant before taking your hand. He leads you to where he's been staying these past few hundred years, but there is nothing there to show. He stops at a clearing, and you look around in confusion. Before he has a chance to say anything, gold spirals and rings form in the sky until a black triangle forms. You're kind of amazed, but you've seen a lot of alien technology throughout your life.
You two are beamed up into the floating triangle, and you're greeted by nine other people in the same kind of clothing Ikaris was wearing when he first came into his shop.
"Ikaris, who is this?" the youngest and shortest one asks.
"This is Y/N, and she killed a deviant."
From what you understand, Ikaris and the other nine people on the spaceship are called Eternals, and they were put on Earth about six thousand years ago to protect humans from deviants, which is what you just killed. They all have special powers that they use to aid them in the war not a lot of people know about. When you had a feeling Ikaris was different, you weren't expecting him to be six thousand years old.
"If you're not an Eternal, then what are you?"
Makkari is the only one who speaks Sign Language, but you don't know much about the language to understand what she is saying, so Druig translates for her.
"I'm from Xenia, a planet on the other side of the universe. I was experimented on by someone who wanted to take over planets with fear. He created a serum that gave me the powers of shapeshifting, which is why I've been able to sneak in and out of the royal castle to steal food or pose as someone with wealth.
"Then, he started experimenting with the Tesseract or the space stone which is one of the six infinity stones. It's what gave me my second set of powers which is controlling the four elements. It's why I was able to kill that deviant with fire. It's also why I can heal quickly."
"How old are you?"
"One hundred. I left my planet at fifty years old, but I stopped aging when I turned thirty-three."
"How did it take you fifty years to travel across the universe? I'm not a math genius, but even I know that's impossible," Phastos asks.
"Because I was made using the space stone, it gave me the ability to create portals which I can open to anywhere in the universe. I had trouble adjusting to that power, so it took me a little longer to get away from my maker. I'm making a home here, and I'd like to stay here if that's okay with you."
"Of course," Ajak says. "I thank you for killing that deviant. We could use your help in killing all of them so that we may go home."
"Anything I can do to help."
And just like that, you became an Eternal-adjacent. It pained you to leave the small town that relied on you to survive, but if you don't take care of the deviants, then there won't be a town left at all. It's nice to be part of something that matters since all you've been part of is something evil for most of your life. You're not even sure where Markus is, but you hope that he doesn't ever find you.
The years blend as you and Ikaris grow closer. The more time you spend with him, the more you fall in love with him. You've never been in a serious relationship before him since you were too scared to start something, but now you feel secure enough to let someone else into your life.
It doesn't matter if Ikaris is human or not.

Ikaris measured his movements, floating above the ground to keep himself from making any noise.
Sersi was in a playful mood today. One minute, they were kissing on the side of the mountain and the next she used her powers to slide away and fuse Ikaris’ feet into the rock.
He easily freed himself, but now he had a giggly Omega to look for
It was a strangely entertaining foreplay, chasing his Omega when she wanted to play.
But it was adorable.
She was always adorable.
He stopped when he heard some pebbles, and backed away a little.
"Sersi!” he called around, trying to appease her. “If you come out now, I won't punish you too bad."
It was a lie, but she didn’t need to know.
His eyes caught a gush of black hair, and he raced towards it, running on his feet a nearly slamming against a rock when it formed right in front of him.
"Sersi!" he growled, easily going over it.
"It wouldn't be fun if I made it easy," she teased him in giggles, still a good distance away.
He tried to act mad, but hearing her laugh just made him smile.
Still, he made a flight dash towards her, but his lover was smart - and a little dumb too - jumping off the mountainside to escape his grasp
Ikaris gasped, and quickly manoeuvred his direction down to catch her before she met the ground, grabbing Sersi mid-air, and she giggled as she grabbed his shoulders.
“Are you insane, woman?” he squeezed her close to him. “You could have hurt yourself!”
He landed at a safer place, and she put her feet on the ground, smiling at him.
"I knew you would catch me, love,"
Ikaris sighed. That woman would be the death of him.
"Now that you’ve caught me, almighty eternal, what will you do with me?" she purred, moving her fingers over the details of his armour.
He was still in it, looking like what his Omega called ‘mighty eternal’, but Sersi had adhered to the fashions of these lands, looking beautiful in her flowy green dress, with nothing underneath.
Ikaris leant against the rock, looking at her from head to toe.
“First I have to punish you for running,” he remarked, licking his lips.
She slithered in his direction, slowly and teasingly.
“And how do you plan to do that?”
Ikaris grabbed her and turned her around, bending Sersi forward, flipping her dress up and exposing her round ass.
It was her favourite punishment, his hand smacking her pretty butt. It always made her wonderfully wet and needy.
When he descended his hand on her ass, slapping her meaty skin, she gasped loudly and moaned right after.
“Hold steady,” he instructed, adjusting her hips when she tried to run from his smacks. “We don’t want you to fall again.”
“You shouldn’t smack so hard, then,” she pouted, throwing him a cheeky look over her shoulder.
Ikaris rolled his eyes, sending two harsh smacks in succession against her ass, and she yelped.
“Stop running from it, naughty omega,” he growled, holding her hips in place with his free hand.
She pouted.
“Oh, I am?” she cooed. “What should you do about it, Alpha?”
Sersi was always so curious about humans and their cultures, including their gender-specific roles. Ikaris didn’t really care, it meant no difference to him, especially considering the Eternals were all cut from the same cloth anyway. Alphas, Omegas, Betas… it only made any difference for humans.
But Sersi was fascinated, and as they experimented more with their dynamic, it turned out Ikaris liked controlling and Sersi loved being controlled.
A prime Alpha and Omega pair, some may say.
He pulled her up against his chest, and wrapped his hand around her neck, keeping her in place as he put his lips against her ear.
“I’ll be forced to fuck that attitude out of you,” he promised.
Oh, how she would love that.
She moaned loudly at that promise and Ikaris changed her posture, turning her to the side, and ripped her dress, still holding her by the neck as he continued to spank her, lips glued to her ear as he finally managed to keep her in place.
“I know you’d love that, for me to fuck you until you can’t stand,” he slapped her more, the sound of his skin against hers echoing through the empty air. “Walking around dazed after my knot spread you out good, dripping with my cum.”
“Yes,” she moaned. “A god’s seed inside of me.”
Ikaris hummed along. Sersi was very aware of how human women looked at him, wanting such a strong Alpha to fill them and even wanting him to do it - to fuck them, fill them with his seed.
Too bad he already belonged to another.
“Do you deserve it, though, little omega?” he bit her earlobe. “My giant cock stuffed inside your little pussy?”
He slapped her one last time and took his hand to her cunt, touching her drenched folds.
“Please,” she whimpered. “Ikaris. Alpha, please-”
What if he…
“Please,” she whined again. “Al-”
Halfway through her word, he smacked her cunt with a big hand, and Sersi yelped.
“Ikaris!”
He stopped, frozen, fearing he might have hurt her, but Sersi just moaned and pressed her hips further out in display, trying to rub herself on his hand, and he smacked her again, feeling her wetness covering his hand a little.
“Like this?” he hissed into her ear.
“Yes,” she moaned. “Please, again. More.”
He slapped her cunt more and more, getting his fingers covered in her slick.
Ikaris wanted to keep smacking her cunt, maybe even see her cum, but his desires were too great, so he undid part of his suit, letting his hard cock and balls out.
He could’ve easily removed his suit, but he liked to keep it partially on. It made him feel more like a powerful eternal, like… an Alpha, maybe.
He turned her around, and she raised her ass to rub against him, and Ikaris lifted her up, holding her body up with a hand around her waist while keeping a firm grasp around her neck.
“Feel how ready my cock is for you, omega?” he asked, rubbing himself against her slit.
He was so big compared to her.
Ikaris remembered being afraid on their first time together, thinking he was going to split her in her half, but it was like Arishem had made her just for him.
She tried to move, to catch his cock, but Ikaris squeezed her neck in a warning.
“You’ll get it once I decide,” he warned her. “Or maybe I’ll just cum on your body and leave you here. If you don’t behave, I might.”
She whined, but stopped.
Still, she spread her legs, and he rubbed his cock against her wet cunt, taking some of her slick before finally sliding inside her, and she gasped.
“Ikaris,” she whined.
She was so wet, so damn welcoming.
“So tight, Omega,” he hissed into her ear. “So open for my cock.”
Ikaris slowly sunk into her, and both sighed when he finally filled her up.
A perfect union, as always.
“Please,” she whined, cunt squeezing his cock tightly.
He quickly moved to thrust into her as she dug her nails into his arms, moaning and crying softly.
"I want your knot," she moaned.
Oh, and why would he deny her that?
"You do, uh?" he felt his knot starting to swell. "Want me to fill you up with my seed and make sure nothing gets out? So your body has no choice but to let me breed you."
Sersi cried out, cunt fluttering around his cock as she came, just from having him inside her.
He growled at the tight squeeze, and turned her face with the hand he had on her neck, kissing her deeply, and she moved her hand back to caress his hair, moaning into his lips.
He could feel himself getting close, with his knot already struggling to move out of her cunt.
"I love you, Sersi," he panted into her lips.
"I love you too, Ikaris," she moaned.
He moaned as he locked himself inside her, spilling his seed as he held her tight.
They held each other closely, and she took his hand to kiss, gentle and affectionate as he held her close.
"I wish it was possible," Sersi whispered.
Ikaris sighed and kissed her cheek, and felt her tears touching his skin right over his skin and he did.
"We only need each other," he reminded her. "We only need each other. It's Arishem's will."
She didn't say anything, but he could feel her sadness, and the two stood together until his knot deflated, and the two started to redress and head back home.
He was just helping her look presentable when he let his gaze fall around the place, and Ikaris froze when his eyes connected with Ajak's. She was standing on the bottom of the cliff, watching them.
How long had she been there? Had she seen everything?
"I don't think there is any chance of saving this dress, Ikaris," Sersi giggled, getting his eyes back on her. "I'll just put on my suit."
He tried to smile at her, and looked back at Ajak, but she was already gone.
"Something wrong, love?" Sersi asked.
Ikaris let his eyes linger for a moment, but cleared his throat and stood straighter.
"No," he lied, at last. "It's nothing."

Ikaris landed in front of your home. It was quiet, eerily quiet. You were never the quiet type. Life breathed into everything you did. But the wildflowers that once blossomed in your yard was wilted. The bright paint of your front door seemed duller. The music that once played had stopped, the only sound he could hear being the sound of the wind whipping around him.
An odd feeling settled in his gut as he walked up to the door. It was open, looked almost like it had been ripped from its hinges. No, he thought, not you…
“Y/N?” he shouted.
He was met only with deafening silence.
Ikaris continued through the house, but he wished he hadn’t. Because when he saw you collapsed on the floor, a dried pool of blood surrounding you, he knew everything he ever wanted was ripped away from him.
“No…” he said, falling to his knees beside you. He reached for you, cradling your body in his arms. You were cold, colder than anything he’d ever felt before. “My love, I’m sorry…I should have been here. I was supposed to protect you.”
He sniffled, his tears falling from his face, landing on yours. “Please, please, my love, wake up. This isn’t funny. My love, I need you.”
But you said nothing, because you could do nothing.
“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry, this is all my fault. If I had stayed…” he choked on his sob. “I was supposed to protect you from the Deviants…If I stayed, you would still…”
He had lost everything.
He failed his mission. He lost Ajak. He lost the rest of his Eternals. And he lost you. All of this was his fault.
Perhaps, he thought, he should have stayed on the sun.

(After)Life: Why the Evangelion Pilots Should Be Left Alone
Hey, throwing this up here before I officially publish it in a couple days as both of a sort of preview and also for feedback. This is the first installment of that Evangelion story that I've been talking about, a sort of in-universe opinion piece to introduce the premise and themes and whatnot. But basically, here's the general idea: it takes place over the course of about a century and a half after End of Evangelion, where Third Impact turned everyone into orange juice (LCL, whatever) and made humanity into a hivemind. Shinji and Asuka emerge onto that beach in a post-apocalyptic landscape like in the movie, Rei herself later returns under very odd circumstances, and after many trials and tribulations they eventually form a throuple. However, as more and more people also emerge from Instrumentality and society begins to rebuild, they find themselves needing someone to blame, and the Eva pilots seem the perfect fit. And since Shinji, Asuka, and Rei are afflicted with a somewhat modified version of the Eva's curse from the Rebuild films (basically, can't age, can't die), they're stuck with it for a long time.
So, basically the idea is for it to be a series of short stories released out-of-order, each of them taking place at a random point of time and touching in with how the trio are doing at that particular moment and keeping track of how society is reacting to them, and vice-versa. So, this will be very different than the more serialized stuff I've done in the past, and a lot more manageable as a result. Any installments will come out whenever I feel like working on this. Anyway, here's the first installment. Let me know what you think.
Why the Evangelion Pilots Should Be Left Alone, by Alice Glocke
One-hundred and twelve years ago, the world died, and ever since then, we have been seeking someone to blame.
A world still reeling from the horrors of Second Impact. A world under constant invasion by extraterrestrial monsters beyond comprehension. A world fighting desperately against increasingly hopeless odds not just to recover, but to survive, to not go quietly into that good night, to plant its feet and declare into the face of God himself that it not only existed, but would continue to exist, and woe be to all that would seek its destruction.
In this, it failed, and the world died.
In many ways, the horrors of Third Impact are less of a scar and more of an open wound, one bleeding LCL into our waters. Yes, we continue to rebuild, and life continues to repopulate and flourish. But though the brief moment in which humanity ceased to exist was now over a century ago, we still have those among us who were forced to take part in Instrumentality, only regaining their thoughts, bodies, and sense of personal identity through sheer force of will, and who had to eke out any means of survival that they could on a dead planet.
In the years following Third Impact, as society finally began to reconstruct itself and climb out of the muck into something that was at least functional, humanity has had to grapple with how to respond to the collective trauma that every person on the planet now shared. There was a great deal of righteous anger and a cry for justice, but with the entire SEELE Council still out of reach within Instrumentality, those cries went unfulfilled. Yes, a small number of NERV employees were found and taken into custody, but those were found to have nothing to do with Third Impact, with only that organization’s highest-ranking members working in cohorts with SEELE. And those individuals also remained out of reach.
And then, everything changed. Fourteen years after Third Impact, we finally had someone to blame. The surviving Evangelion Pilots had been found.
In a way, finding them had been a relief. So much bottled-up anger, so much unresolved pain, and those responsible were beyond justice. Now, humanity had the perfect scapegoats. Essential key components of SEELE’s Instrumentality Project, masquerading as fearless defenders of Earth while working the whole time to destroy it. Shinji Ikari, known as the Third Child, and son of NERV’s infamous commander Gendo Ikari, the man perhaps the most responsible for enacting Third Impact. And Asuka Soryu Langley, Second Child, daughter of one of the Human Instrumentality Project’s designers. And while there had been many to decry pinning the blame on those two, that it was unfair to place the sins of the parents on their hapless children, all of those protests faded away when Shinji Ikari made his fateful confession. It had been he that had been given the choice whether or not to allow Third Impact to take place. And it had been he who had made the decision to end the world.
Everyone knows that image of two young teenagers being led from the UN Council by their lawyers and bodyguards, being pelted with garbage from an angry crowd. Whether they saw it in textbooks, had it sent to them by friends as a meme, or even were one of those that watched it live, this is perhaps the most infamous image of the New World. And for a time, most felt that the anger directed at those two was fully justified. Certainly, the UN Council seemed to agree, finding them both guilty of aiding and abetting in SEELE’s schemes to end the world, Shinji intentionally and Asuka unintentionally. The two were then incarcerated in a “secure facility,” and that was that.
Since then, the condition of the two pilots has mostly fallen out of the public’s consciousness. No appeals, no interviews, no word as to what they were up to or how they were doing. Every single “Where are they now?” op-ed has always ended up as a rewritten version of the same events, with each one ending with “Shinji and Asuka: still locked up,” with the only significant change being the number of years between the trial and the newest article’s publication.
Which isn’t to say that they’ve disappeared completely, but rather they seemed to have ceased to become actual public figures and become more of caricatures. They appear in comic strips and cartoons as grossly exaggerated versions of themselves, usually with the destruction of the world as the punchline. They’ve become symbols, memes, representations of the guilt laid upon their shoulders, little more than villains straight out of a children’s story.
Which isn’t to say there haven’t been voices of support over the years. Asuka especially seems to have garnered a small but vocal following, pointing out that she actually had nothing to do with the implementation of Third Impact, and so forcing her to share Shinji’s fate was perhaps unfair. The phrase “Asuka did nothing wrong” has come in and out of vogue, and in time it seems that she has become something of a symbol of the unjustly persecuted. Even Shinji himself, who for so long shouldered the majority of the blame for Third Impact, has seen a turnaround in how the public has treated him, pointing out that perhaps placing the full blame for what had happened upon a child soldier indoctrinated by an evil organization of adult men is a bit unfair.
However, none of these voices ever gained much traction. Once the trial was over, most of humanity’s attention was directed toward just trying to heal, and there was little room for the Evangelion Pilots.
But then, nine months ago, all of that changed.
The hacking of the UN security files and the subsequent leaks of not only their own data on the pilots, but also all of the files that they had managed to recover from NERV, has been nothing less than earth-shaking. Granted, little had been revealed about the Human Instrumentality Project and SEELE’s designs that the public didn’t already know, though the full extent of their machinations had been troubling. However, it was the data on the pilots that had been the most troubling, and revealed how little we truly understood about the Earth’s murderers.
For decades, Shinji Ikari had been painted as a willing participant in his father’s schemes, Gendo Ikari’s heir anointed and trusted lieutenant. But now we knew the truth. He was little more than a child forced into taking part in a war that he wanted no part in and suffered greatly for. We listened to the recordings of his screams of agony, his enraged curses and threats, and his pleas for help on behalf of himself and his fellow pilots. We read the psychological evaluations of his frequent depressive states, his attempts to run away, and the lack of support that he received. We learned of his own father’s cold treatment of him, and how Gendo Ikari would psychologically torture his son to get him back into the cockpit of his Evangelion.
And with all of this came the truth. Shinji and the other pilots were deliberately abused. Evangelions were at their most effective when bonded with a broken soul. The pilots were traumatized time and time again in order to increase their effectiveness in combat and denied help afterward. In light of this new information, we ourselves were forced to confront an uncomfortable truth. Shinji Ikari’s decision to cause Third Impact was less the act of megalomaniac enacting his father’s master scheme as it was that of a suffering child drowning in a sea of rage and torment, desperate to escape the Hell that his life had become.
Who among us as children has not wished that the world would end at one time or another? Shinji was simply unfortunate enough to have the means to do so thrust into his hands when at his lowest, and he had far more reason to do so than anyone ever could have imagined. And by all accounts, he regretted it immediately afterward.
There is no justifying what he did, no taking back the suffering that he caused. But at least now, people have come to understand why, and feel that he had been unfairly mischaracterized by history.
But that was far from the biggest bombshell to come out of that leak. Just as everyone was coming to terms with what we had learned about someone so long believed to be a monster, we discovered something that pushed almost all discussion of Shinji Ikari out of everyone’s minds.
Rei Ayanami had survived.
If there is anyone among the Evangelion Pilots subject to more discussion, demonization, and blame for what had happened, it is her. And why wouldn’t she be? An artificial human, created by a combination of human DNA and genetic material gathered from Lilith, the secretly imprisoned second Angel, literally created to serve as Lilith’s resurrection and the one to carry out the Third Impact.
Rei had fulfilled her purpose. She had bonded with Adam, the first Angel, and transformed into an abomination. Those who witnessed Third Impact spoke of a monster, an enormous pale-skinned woman embracing the Earth. And there was little reason to doubt this, as her gigantic corpse had been found just offshore of the ruins of Tokyo-3 and sits in the Human Instrumentality Research Center to this day, alongside the recovered remains of the Evangelions themselves, the corpses of the Angels, and the last remaining pool of LCL, containing the souls of those who decided to remain in Instrumentality. Surely, if anyone deserves to be painted as a monster, it is her. And it wasn’t as if she were around to protest how the history books characterized her, as she had perished immediately after destroying the world.
Except she hadn’t, at least not permanently. She had come back, and had been found alongside Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley. The whole time when the UN had been making scapegoats of those poor children, the actual monster had been in their hands, and they said nothing.
However, calling even Rei a monster had proven to be more complicated than anyone could have expected.
The topic of Rei Ayanami’s rebirth is woven into the enigma of her existence. Much has been made of her reincarnation as Lilith, while next to nothing has ever been discussed about Rei Ayanami the person, Rei Ayanami the human. And why would there be? All accounts of her painted her as a cold, emotionless being, as befitting her alien origins. What more is there to discuss?
As it turns out, there is plenty.
We have long known of NERV’s barbaric and, dare I say, downright blasphemous experiments involving the human soul, how each of the Evangelions literally had the soul of a person close to its chosen pilot embedded into its neural network. For Shinji and Asuka, it was their mothers. But what of Rei? What of this artificial person, created from a test tube, born from a vat? What person could possibly fill that role?
As it turns out, it was herself.
Three years after her creation, Rei was accidentally killed by Dr. Akagi, one of the scientists working on the Human Instrumentality Project. Her soul was preserved, thanks to its artificial nature. However, with her death, NERV saw an opportunity. Only half of her soul was implanted within a fresh clone body, while the other served as the core of Unit 00, the first of the Evangelions.
With only half a human soul, Rei’s capacity to experience normal emotions and form human connections was severely stunted, resulting in the passive, almost robotic individual described by those who knew her. She was likewise groomed to be utterly obedient, valuing little for her own life while carrying out her orders with no hesitation. And yet, despite these handicaps, connections did form. Notes from her handlers speak of a growing friendship between herself and Shinji Ikari, one that had NERV’s command concerned. After all, should she somehow break free from their programming, it could threaten all of their carefully laid plans.
This was further complicated by her second death, when Eva 00 became infected by Armisael, the Sixteenth Angel, and was forced to self-destruct before the infection could spread. Again, Rei’s soul was retrieved, but with no Eva to implant half of it into, the entire thing was placed within her new body. And unwilling to risk having a Rei Ayanami suddenly experiencing the full range of human emotions with no prior experience controlling them in such a critical stage, NERV using psychiatric drugs, tranquilizers, and mental conditioning to keep her confined within her customary passive and pliable state, right up until the end.
The topic of Rei’s latest resurrection has also been heavily debated. Certainly, her own recounting of the event has been less than helpful. We know that NERV had a number of clone bodies in reserve should she die in battle, but they were all destroyed leading up to Third Impact. According to Rei herself, a new body was formed by a “her,” presumably Lilith. Another time she claimed to have created the new body herself. But regardless of the body’s origin, following Lilith’s death, her human soul somehow found its way back into the final clone body, where she was later found by Shinji and Asuka, and remained with them for the next fourteen.
Part of the reason that the outrage against the UN has found it difficult to be sustained is that there is a lack of agreement on what exactly to be outraged about, as so much was revealed that turned everything that we thought to be true on its head, causing more confusion than anger. But perhaps the most revealing aspect of the leaks were what has since been dubbed the Pilot Interviews, recordings of the interrogations of the Evangelion Pilots following their capture.
Shinji Ikari’s were certainly eye-opening. Throughout his questioning, he was revealed to be a man haunted by his actions, someone who spent years drowning in guilt and who had only just begun to break the surface. He spoke of his many failed suicide attempts, of begging both Rei and Asuka to put him out of his misery, and seemed completely resigned to whatever justice he was to be sentenced to, though at times a passive-aggressive streak would surface, especially whenever the topic of his infamous father came up. Still, if anything, it was these series of tapes that did the most to rehabilitate his image.
Asuka’s, on the other hand, were anything but passive. If anything, she was downright hostile. It was clear that she did not feel that her and her companion’s capture was in any way justified, and felt compelled to explain her disdain to her interrogators in full, and often very colorful, detail. Nor did she feel the slightest bit remorseful for any part that she had to play in NERV’s atrocities.
There has been some debate if her attitude was warranted, with her defenders pointing out that she was correct, that she hadn’t actually had anything to do directly with Third Impact, while others claim that given the circumstances, her behavior reeked of haughty entitlement.
However, all of that was completely overshadowed by the third set of interview sessions, that of Rei Ayanami.
If Shinji’s were regretful and Asuka’s volatile, then Rei’s were downright unhinged. A far cry from the serene, almost emotionless person that she was said to be, this Rei was fully out of control, at times exploding with anger, screaming curses and profanities and death threats so detailed that they seemed less threats as they were expressed intentions that she would have carried out were she able. Other times she would collapse into a blubbering mess, wailing and pleading for forgiveness. Other times she would enter into a catatonic state, seeming to retreat within herself and not respond to any stimuli whatsoever. And still others times she would sink into a full depressive state, unable to respond with anything more than a few whispered, one-word answers, while frequently asking for death.
Certainly, the tapes of Rei’s sessions were disturbing, and to this day no one seems to know what to make of them. Is she truly the monster that she’s made out to be? An innocent victim? Nothing on those tapes seemed to indicate either way.
However, Dr. Anno of London-2 University seems to have what I feel to be the most likely answer. Rei was someone who grew up as an incomplete person. With half of her soul locked away in a gigantic bio-mechanical abomination, she was kept from experiencing the full range of human emotions, and thus never learned how to control her feelings when those emotions were returned to her. She then spent the next fourteen years thrust into a harrowing survival situation, where her only two points of human contact weren’t exactly the finest examples of emotional stability either.
However, as different as the three pilots’ reactions to their interrogators were, there is one thing that united all three: a fervent, almost desperate concern for the well-being of the other two. Rei was the most overt, with her episodes of rage especially largely spent demanding to see Shinji and Asuka and making graphic threats should any harm befall them, but Shinji and Asuka also frequently pleaded to be reunited with each other and Rei. It is clear that whatever their relationship had been during their time actually piloting the Evangelions, the fourteen years that they had spent together had formed an extremely close bond.
What followed next, we all know. Shinji and Asuka’s capture was made public, with no mention of Rei. Those two were then put on trial before the UN Council and found guilty, with the last time that the world saw them was them being led through a jeering crowd toward the waiting transports. And from there, they were to be taken away, never to see the light of day again.
However, we now know that the trial was, at least in part, a façade. An act. Almost a stage play. A deal had been struck with Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley: take the fall for the Third Impact, and you will be reunited with Rei. And then the three of you will be taken somewhere safe to live out your days in peace. The world needed a scapegoat, and it was to be them. Naturally, they agreed.
At this point, the tide had fully turned in favor of the unfairly maligned Evangelion Pilots. Even Rei was starting to be treated with some measure of sympathy. But it was what happened next that fully won over people’s hearts.
As I said, we all have the image of Shinji and Asuka being led away from the trial burned into our minds. The sorrow on Shinji’s face and the resentment on Asuka’s. The featureless helmets of their bodyguards. The trash flying through the air, hurled by the angry crowd. But what nobody knew until now was what happened when they reached their destination, and when they were finally reunited with Rei.
The nature of the relationship between Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley has, like everything else about them, been hotly debated, though it has been commonly accepted that they were lovers. And it was this moment that definitively proved that assertion, but with a new wrinkle: not only were Shinji and Asuka romantically tied, but Rei was equally involved with both of them.
It feels horribly gauche to comment on such an intimate moment, especially since it was no doubt intended to be private, but I feel that it was this moment that the world fully realized how cruel those grossly exaggerated portrayals in our media have been. These were not monsters. These were not villainous masterminds. These were people. People that loved one another, people that were willing to shoulder the blame for history’s greatest tragedy in order to protect one another, people that gave up everything just to be with each other. Yes, they had done terrible things, and yes, they should bear that responsibility. However, it is now clear that they are far from the monsters that history has deliberately painted them out to be.
But of course, it was not enough to completely upend everything that we had thought that we had known the Eva Pilots. It was not enough to smack us with the truth of Rei’s existence or her humanity. We were then confronted with perhaps the strangest revelations of them all.
And that was that the Evangelion Pilots were almost certainly still alive.
One hundred and twelve years have passed since Third Impact, and though people living past a hundred is not unheard of, it is still exceptionally rare. However, even before the leaks, people have pointed that despite the fourteen-year gap between Third Impact and the pilots’ capture, Shinji and Asuka still looked fourteen, when they ought to be in their late twenties. Was this the result of piloting an Evangelion? Some Faustian deal made with Lilith? A result of NERV’s experiments, perhaps?
Whatever it was that kept their youth, it persisted even after their incarceration. Shinji, Asuka, and Rei lived on under the watch of the United Nations for another eight years, and none of them so much as aged a day. What is more, tests ran on the pilots showed that their cells lacked any sort of molecular decay. Quite the contrary, their bodies stalwartly resisted any sort of damage at all. Any wounds were swiftly healed, any diseases immediately snuffed out, with even complete brain death being nothing more than a temporary inconvenience. A rather disturbing but revealing file revealed that all three pilots had attempted suicide a number of different times during the first few years following Third Impact, with Rei Ayanami especially taking painstaking notes on the various methods that she employed and their effectiveness, which was none. There was some speculation as to whether this strange regeneration would persist in the face of total disintegration, but no one was willing to give the go-ahead to check.
Regardless, the case was clear. Whether it be an undeserved blessing or an ironic curse, the three Eva pilots had been afflicted with some sort of immortality, frozen forever in time from the moment of Third Impact. As such, despite the decades since, they are no doubt living today, unchanged from those historical photos.
Unfortunately, there seems no way to actually check, as they are very much gone. As stated before, eight years into their incarceration, they simply vanished without a trace. A thorough, yet discrete investigation into the matter took place, during which a conspiracy sympathetic to the pilots’ plight was uncovered, with a number of UN staffers close to the pilots found to be complicit. However, no one could say where the pilots were now, as their point of release was known only to a small few, and deliberate effort was made not to keep track of them after they had been released.
Which means that Shinji Ikari, Asuka Soryu Langley, and, perhaps most unsettling, Rei Ayanami, the three most controversial figures of the last century, are currently loose somewhere in the world. Perhaps they are wandering the forests of the Americas, the deserts of Africa, or perhaps even returned home to Japan. Perhaps they took on new names, disguised their appearances, and are now living in some suburban home somewhere, or returned their old life from before incarceration and joined one of the many refugee camps in one of the cities slow to recover. They could be in a small Swedish village, in a cabin in the Australian outback, in a treehouse in the Amazon jungle, or any one of the literally millions of other points on the map.
Naturally, there has been much talk about finding them again, some wishing to make amends and publicly make up for the blame that they had been forced to shoulder, others feeling that they still had not repaid their debt to society and should be returned to imprisonment. And there are still others that do not care for either side, but instead insist that they remain a clear and present danger, that more was changed about them than granting them eternal life, that they are inhuman monsters fully capable of ending the world again and need to be stopped. But whatever the motive, something almost everyone agrees on is that they do need to be found.
And I am here to offer up a dissenting opinion. Regardless of whether you love them, hate them, feel bad for them, or feel threatened by them, the Evangelion Pilots should be left alone. This, I feel, would be best for everyone.
Whenever the exploits, positive or negative, of the pilots are brought up, there seems to be a sort of hierarchy to the degree each one is discussed. Shinji seems to be the one brought up the most, as he is still unquestionably the trigger-man of Third Impact. Asuka comes next, given everyone’s complicated feelings toward her and her swaths of supporters. After that is Rei, who, even before her survival was discovered, still occupied a very contentious place in history as the monster who directly ended the world. And then there is Kaworu Nagisa, perhaps the greatest enigma of them all, a half-Angel/half-human artificial being like Rei, created specifically by SEELE as a countermeasure to any possible treachery on NERV’s part, but was killed by Shinji Ikari before his plans could come about, and yet seems to have played as vital a part in Third Impact as Rei, but by the same token, apparently did not see resurrection like she did.
But there is a fifth name that is often forgotten in those discussions, a fifth Evangelion Pilot. And that is none other than Touji Suzuhara the Fourth Child.
It is not that Touji is totally unknown, but he exists in the public consciousness as a sort of footnote, a trivia question at best. Though he was selected as a pilot and given an Evangelion of his own, his Evangelion became possessed by Bardiel, the Thirteenth Angel, during its first test run, leading to its destruction. And though he survived, Touji was critically injured in the process, and with no Evangelion to pilot, he quietly left the program to fade out of history.
In a way, Touji was perhaps the luckiest one of them all. The early destruction of his Evangelion protected him from having to participate in the mentally harrowing battles against the Angels, and he was spared of being an active participant in Third Impact. Even afterward, he was part of the first wave of people to emerge from Instrumentality, even reuniting with most of his family and many of his friends, going on to live about as full of a life as one could in those desolate circumstances. And while the tides of history have mostly washed over him, some effort was made to locate him. During Shinji and Asuka’s trials, once it was discovered that he was among the refugees recovered from Tokyo-3, there were multiple news outlets attempting to seek him out for interviews. However, they were far too late, as he and his family were long gone.
And I know all of this, as Touji Suzuhara was my great-grandfather.
I have very little memory of Touji. Though he lived much longer than most, he at least was spared the immortality that afflicted the other pilots and passed away when I was six, and what little I do recall about him paints a picture of a quiet, reserved old man. However, in interviewing various members of my family, I was told of someone who made every effort to flee his past but was unable to fully shake its shadow. I heard stories of bullying and harassment in those early refugee camps, of the other survivors trying to blame him and his family for what had happened, much as Shinji and Asuka would be publicly blamed later. It got to the point that as soon as they were rescued and carried away from Tokyo-3, his whole family changed their names and fled, disappearing into a still-chaotic world to find a place where nobody knew them.
In time, they succeeded, eventually settling in Austria. Though they had nothing and did not even know the language, that mattered little as very few of their neighbors had much either, and they were far from the only immigrants wandering in. There, they were able to blend in, carving out a niche for themselves and building something resembling a life, and no one ever discovered their connection to history’s so-called greatest monsters.
But even so, my great-grandfather never forgot. Though he never neglected his family and tried his best to provide for them, everyone that I spoke to made him out to be a broken man, someone who had lost the light in his eyes, who would smile very little and always seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. It was forbidden to speak to him of the time before Third Impact, and the very few times he did talk of it, it was from the viewpoint of someone who never truly left Tokyo-3, haunted by ghosts.
Touji might have been forgotten by history, but he bore his scars. Unfair blame was placed upon my family’s shoulders for what had happened, and we know all too well what it is like to be made scapegoats by the those who need someone to blame for their suffering. And though I have never met Shinji Ikari, Asuka Soryu Langley, or Rei Ayanami, and know about as much about them as everyone else, I at least have some measure of understanding of how unfairly they’ve been characterized. And I am sure that they desire validation about as much as they deserve further condemnation, which is to say, not at all. As such, I feel that the kindest thing to do would be to just let them be. Wherever they are, leave them alone to seek their own peace. Because I assure you, they have paid for their sins in full. They pay every day, remembering their part in the previous world’s death.
And to those who still think them a threat, who still believe that they possess the power to once again end the world despite no evidence to back that up, consider this: they have had ample opportunity and reason to wield that power, and yet never have. As such, perhaps it would be best not to provoke them?
No matter how you feel about the Evangelion Pilots, I see little that can be gained by seeking them out. They have taken more than their fair punishment, and would likely shun any reward. And as the descendant of one of their number, I say, let my great-grandfather’s companions be and move on. We have all suffered enough.

“It is time,” were the first words uttered that would mark the beginning of a mission that would change their lives forever. Long gone were their lives on their home planet, Olympia. Now, their only priority was their mission on the planet Earth.
Twelve individuals stood from their seats and made their way to their positions that marked their roles in humanity’s growth. Six on one side, and six on the other.
Six Eternals would serve as “fighters,” protecting humanity from the hideous creatures that threatened their feeble existence known as “Deviants.”
The other six would take on their roles as “thinkers,” guiding humanity to evolve in their intelligence so that they would be able to create wonders without assistance.
But regardless, “thinker” or “fighter,” each Eternal was blessed with abilities that would play an integral role for their mission. Each Eternal stood in their place, golden streams of celestial energy encompassed their bodies as they could now wear the armor that marked their Olympian origins and culture.
With their bodies equipped, and minds ready, each Eternal made their way to gaze out from the many windows that their starship, the Domo, was built with in preparation for their travel.
As each Eternal introduced themselves to one another, hoping to gain common ground with the team to settle rattled nerves, only two individuals had no need for introduction.
As one Eternal gazed out the Domo - bereft at the sight of the planet where her new life would begin – she wondered if Earth would ever be home the way Olympia had been to her despite her having no true memory of it. She wondered if her abilities would prove useful, and she was worried that she would be incapable of making any friends. Luckily, that fear would be one that would pass very, very soon.
“Sephia!”
Her name was all she heard before arms encased by iridescently dark blue with pearly ivory entwining into celestial bodies that wrapped around her nimble but powerful form. A wide smile grew as she registered the familiarity of the voice.
It was Kaetlyn, her very best friend.
Instant relief filled her body as she shifted her body to return the hug. Sephia’s joy knew no bounds as she realized that she would at least be in the company of one of the greatest warriors Olympia had ever produced. But even without her arrows, Kaetlyn was the best person Sephia could think of for as long as she remembered. The fact that she left her home and was aboard with too many strangers no longer mattered to her. So long as her beloved Kaet was by her side, Sephia would get through anything that came her way. It was if their bond was testified and bound by the stars themselves.
“Aren’t you so excited? Look at it! It’s so beautiful! I wonder what sites we’ll see!”
As Kaetlyn’s curiosity grew, so did her excitement. Her voice could hardly contain the sheer ecstaticity that was flowing throughout her entire body. The next words that escape her would mark the shadow archer’s true intentions.
“Think of all the adventures we’ll have,” she whispered out so that only Sephia would be able to hear her, “The stories we’ll be able to tell!”
If Kaetlyn was known for anything besides her skills in combat, it was her insatiable curiosity. For as long as Sephia had known her, Kaetlyn was never ever satisfied with only knowing whatever she currently knew. She always wanted to know MORE. Sephia smiled at a memory of Kaet once explaining to her that it was her solemn oath that she would never EVER be satisfied with only what anyone gave her, and that she’d always find her way to learn more. That oath felt like it was from a lifetime ago.
These words were from another lifetime, in more ways than one. But that will come to light at another time.
But despite Kaetlyn’s contagious excitement, dread began to course through Sephia’s veins. As her nerves began to eat at her, Sephia couldn’t help but pick at her fingers. A horrible habit that would always result in inflamed tissue, bleeding, and ugly scars.
“I’m scared,” she timidly replied, eyes turned away so that she wouldn’t let her friend see her cowardice. “What if the life forms on this planet are horrible? What if they are beyond help?” As Sephia continued to list her concerns, Kaetlyn understood that it wasn’t the fear of others that terrified Sephia, it was the idea that she would be of no use to Arishem’s grand design.
“It will be alright Seph,” Kaet declared in a tone that filled herself with confidence and Sephia with reassurance, “After all, as long as we’re together, nothing will be too terrible.”
“…I suppose that’s true,” Sephia let herself agree to her most trusted companion’s advice, but her heart was still heavy with anxiety.
Very softly, she dared ask the most stupid question that ever left her mouth.
“Will we always be together?”
Kaetlyn looked at her most cherished friend with so much warmth in her eyes that it was as if all the most beautiful things in the universe were born into the very person in front of her.
“Sephie,” she began with love in her voice and stars in her eyes as she leaned forward to press their foreheads together, “As if you even need to ask.”
Unbeknownst to either of the girls, two men from opposite sides of the room gazed at the loving embrace with curious eyes.
One came from Ikaris, a fighter gifted with the ability to fly and emit optic beams of celestial energy, as well as a commanding figure and attitude. His watch was fixed on the beautiful Eternal, with flowing blush fabric draped across her lovely figure as strategically placed brass armor hinted at the curves of her physique. He could not stop staring at her, despite the impossibly lovely Sersi that stood beside him at that very moment.
The other came from Druig, a thinker who was known across Olympia for his telepathic abilities, along with his quick wit and surly demeanor. But all somber thoughts came to a halt at the sight of the slim figure, who after donning her armor, disappeared into the shadows of the room. Only to reappear to embrace her friend with so much delight, it surprised him.
Two very different individuals, but both somehow staring at the sight before them for so long, that it would set in motion the events that would be all four individuals’ joy, as well as their end.

whoever said it’s better to love and lose never loved and lost you
[kaworu/shinj]
966 words, angst, angst w/ unhappy ending, takes place after events of ep 24, character study, based on “i wish i never met you” by babygirl
misato begrudgingly closed the door of shinji’s room, his noisy complaints of wanting to be left alone getting too draining.
she knew damn well that leaving the adolescent alone was the last thing she should do, but the amount that she had on her own plate was quickly overfilling to the point where she couldn’t handle shinji’s dramatics.
on the other side, shinji rested his head on his pillow with a thick migraine from the events that occurred earlier today. his chest was tight, his breath hitched, and his mind was racing with a million and one thoughts.
he felt weak, indescribably weak. he felt as if somebody were to lay a finger on him, he would fall apart. he felt fractured, destroyed, and hated that feeling.
he hated it. he hated it a lot. he hated the feeling of always being the weakest one and the boy who can’t do anything, he hated the shallow sensation that would rise in his stomach at the smallest inconvenience.
he hated his delicacy, the fragile glass that his body was made of, he hated his crave for others and he hated his crave for being alone. he hated his hair, the way his eyes were slanted downwards in such an ugly way, the peach fuzz on his chin, the way his voice croaked when he cried.
shinji hated everything about himself. he hated the fact that he was alive,
but he couldn’t get his mind off the one person who didn’t.
shinji winced at kaworu creeping into his mind, infesting his every brain cell with his presence. shinji had done everything he could in the past couple hours to forget, forget, and forget, but his red eyed prince wouldn’t escape his thoughts.
kaworu loved his delicacy. kaworu praised his emotional vulnerability, the sentimental grip shinji held on his past. kaworu admired his troubles, consoling them as the beautiful pain humanity holds. kaworu didn’t think shinji was a mess, kaworu didn’t think of his face as anything less than perfect. kaworu adored the bumpy callouses that decorated shinji’s hands, the way shinji would yelp when kaworu hugged him from behind.
kaworu loved shinji. all of him.
the stinging sensation of tears hit shinji’s eyes, as he let them fall freely across his face and onto his pillow. his body was hollow, rusted, and empty without kaworu’s touch. shinji was overwhelmed from the emotions he was having, the thoughts that were encompassing his brain, but amidst the chaos one thing stood clear to him; shinji hated kaworu nagisa.
he hated how safe kaworu made him feel. he hated the freedom and escape he found in kaworu’s touch. he didn’t have to care about the evas, his father, humanity, rei, asuka, or the dozens of problems that loomed over his brain every day. kowaru took them all and crushed them in half, and gave shinji a warm embrace of peace.
he hated that he had experienced that feeling. he hated the delicious taste of happiness kowaru had gave him only for him to snatch it away. he hated that he dipped his toes in the pool of love only for the pool to quickly drain forever. he was greedy, he wanted to experience it all the time. he hated that he didn’t know forever would end so soon.
kaworu was nothing but a liar. he lied while making shinji promises of eternal happiness, he lied when he told shinji he would never leave.
but was i the fool that fell for them? shinji thought. gripping onto his waist and chest, he desperately searched for any feeling that wasn’t vacant. he tried shaking his legs to make them numb no more, and he clenched his eyes and prayed that he would never think of kaworu again.
he prayed that he could go back into time and never meet him.
shinji wanted those days of happiness back, so he could quickly burn them into his usual days of depression. shinji wanted his brain to forget he ever had hope, that there was any chance for somebody to love him. kaworu was the only person who ever claimed to understand shinji, hands intertwined on their shared bed. shinji wanted that all gone.
shinji pictured misato’s arm draped around him. shinji envisioned what she might say to all his irrational thoughts, the jumble of chaos that made up his mind. misato had her heart broken before, didn’t she? why did she ever try again after that?
it’s better to love and lose, shinji. misato’s words echoed in his head. the emptiness you’ll feel if you live a whole life without love is incomparable.
pain is something man must carry in his heart, and since the heart feels pain so easily, some believe that life is pain. shinji flinched at the sound of his sweet voice in his head again. mankind needs love to go on.
no! shinji wanted to yell. i don’t need love! i don’t need the pain that would come alongside it. whoever said its better to love and lose… never loved and lost you.
shinji opened his eyes, fixated on the ceiling in front of him. he wanted nothing more than to forget kaworu. forget him forever.
shinji shifted slightly to the right, glancing at the mp3 player that rested on his desk. it was his first gift from kowaru, and he remembered cherishing it like the last meal he’d ever eat. shinji felt his body go limp, unable to move. he couldn’t feel his arms, legs, or anything else. perhaps it was better that way.
letting out a sigh, shinji had one thing left that encompassed his mind. shinji had one message, one feeling that he was sure he would never let go of.
i wish i never met you, kaworu.

Y/n's feet dangled off a cliff as he watched the people below him. His mother, Rhea, sent him to make sure the people of Greece were safe and well cared for. The mission was a bit boring at times, he mainly just watered crops and purified water. But he hoped for something exciting. He was about to climb down and return to Aktiki, when he saw a creature sprinting towards the city. He launched himself off the mountain, jumping everytime he hit the earth so he would land in front of the gates. When he reached his destination, he got a good look at the creature. It has leathery black skin and was the size of the cities temple and had large horns bigger than his arm. Grabbing the trident from his back, and flexing his shield arm he got into a defensive stance, prepared to protect his people. Then the creature face planted in front of him, a women in white pushing a golden spear into its back. Y/n lowered his trident and tilted his head, looking her over. "Hello." She said, pursing her lips, the spear in her hands disappearing. The creature went to stand up, but both of them plunged their weapons into its head, another spear appearing in her hands. "Hi, I'm Y/n, the people here call me Poseidon." He held his hand to her and helped her off the corpse. "I'm Thena." She said, and nodded to him before looking over her shoulder. He followed her gaze to where a group of other men and women fought other black creatures. One of them summoned a golden exoskeleton and punched them, another shot golden light from his hands, and one was so fast that Y/n could only see her when she stopped moving. When all the creatures were dead, another group walked towards Y/n, following behind a women in a blue and gold dress. The warriors all went to walk behind her, and that's when he saw one he didn't notice before. He floated down next to them and was wearing a skin tight blue and gold suit, and he was possibly the most handsome man y/n has ever seen.
When the group reached Y/n and Thena, the women in front nodded to Thena before bowing to Y/n. "Hello, I am Ajak. Is this your city?" Y/n moved his gaze from the flying hottie to her. "I am the cities protectors. But it is run by the senators. Come, I will take you to them, but only you and the two best fighters, the others must stay." Ajak nodded before following him along with Thena and the flying hottie. Y/n opened the gates, waving to the people who came to watch them. "This is Aktiki. Over there is the temple to the gods, which is where I live. And over there is the school, where the biys of the city learn the arts, as well as war. Here, we place importance on your intelligence, just as much as your skills in battle." Y/n motioned to the building, all of the boys inside it looking out towards them. "And the girls?" Thena asked, staring at Y/n suspiciously. "The senators dont believe girls should do anything but cool, clean, and weave. Which is why I teach them all myself inside the temple and at night, because in the temple, the only law is the law of the gods, which they say I am one. Speaking of weaving, this is the home of Aktiki's greatest weaver, Arachne!" Y/n opened the door to show the trio. The only furniture in the small home was a bed, a small cooking pot, a loom, a spindle, and pots filled with dyes. Sitting at the loom was a woman with inky black hair weaving a tapestry depicting Y/n standing on a rock holding his trident in the air as 4 horses made of water reared behind him. The tapestry got a few details wrong, like him being naked and having a six pack, but was nevertheless very complimenting. Y/n closed the door and the 4 of them walked to the building in the center of town. He walked inside, Ajak beside him and Thena and Flying Hottie behind them. "Senators! This is Ajak, she is the leader of the warriors who saved Aktiki." The men stared at Y/n with reverence, but when he motioned to Ajak, their faces turned into distaste. "Hello senators. I am Ajak, the leader of the Eternals, and we are here to...." Ajak stepped forward and began speaking beut was cut off when the senator in the middle stood up. "Lord Y/n, you know out customs and laws, women are not permitted to enter the courthouse." A low growl escaped from the throats of Y/n, Thena, and Flying Hottie, and Ajak let out a breath in disbelief. "Senators, I have told you multiple times that..." Y/n was cut off by a golden, glowing sword extended from Thena's hand and sliced the senators cheek. "Thena, we do not use violence agaimst humans, no matter how... Aggravating they may be. Good senator, I am sorry about her behavior, here let me." Ajak walked up and held her hand over the senators cheek, a golden glow emitting from her hand and healing the cut. When Ajak stepped back, all of the senators stood up and dropped to their knees. "We apologize my lady, we did not know we were in the presence of goddesses. Forgive us for our insolence." The head senator said, begging at Ajak's feet. She simply brushed her hand over his head and smiled. "We are not gods, we merly wish to be granted residence in your city." All of the senators agreed, as well as offered them multiple offerings ranging from food to gold to humans.
Y/n pushed open the doors to the temple, welcoming the Eternals inside. The building was the largest in the city and had multiple fountains inside. Decorating the walls were multiple tapestries made by Arachne, each one depicting a different deed done by Y/n. "This one is when I 'created' horses. I merely tamed some and bred them. Oh, and this one was when me and my brothers killed our father, its a little more acurate, but he was, lets just say my mother didn't want 6 kids." Y/n showed them each the different tapestries until they made it to the end of the hall, where the statue stood. "Its not very accurate since no one in the city has ever seen me in less than my armor, but it was a gift, so I keep it." Y/n explained as they looked up at the large and very naked statue. "I swear the people of this city have this thing with nudity and gods. Like, it's such a problem for gods to be wearing clothes." Y/n complained and motioned for them to follow him downstairs where the bedrooms were. "There were multiple rooms built, in case other gods showed up. Pick one and it's yours." Y/n waved his hands at all of the rooms and smiled at all of them. "Thanks, but we have rooms." The smallest of the room said, giving him a false sweet smile. A loud thud came from above the temple and Y/n ran to see what it was. A large triangular thing was now sitting on the temple, its black color was a stark contrast to the white marble. "What is that?!" Y/n yelled, looking at Ajak. "The Domo, our starship. It is how we got to earth." She explained, looking at the ship with a smile. Y/n looked at her before jumping up to it. He landed in front of what he assumed was the entance, which is where the Flying Hottie was leaning against the wall. "Hi." He said, holding up two fingers in a small wave. "Hello, so this is why you missed the tour." Y/n said, walking into the ship uninvited. "Someone had to make sure Phastos didn't crash." He said, trailing behind Y/n. "I never caught your name." He was now walking backwards, smiling at the Flying Hottie. "Its Ikaris." His smile was basically melting y/n, and his voice was basically music. Y/n bit his lip and smiled at him. "Well Ikaris, I'm Y/n. The people of Aktiki call me Poseidon, god of the sea." Y/n flexed a bit, causing Ikaris to chuckle lightly. "One place we lived called me the god of something once, I think the only place to give me a specific title. They called me Aengus Og, god of... What was it again?" Y/n felt his back touch a wall, but Ikaris was still walking towards him. "Oh thats right. I was the god of..." His mouth was right next to y/n's ear and his breath made him shudder. "Love." The two held eye contact, y/n had his hands on Ikaris's chest, and Ikaris had his hands on both sides of Y/n's head. Y/n was moving before he realized it, and he didn't realize it until he felt Ikaris biting at his lips. Y/n's eyes fluttered closed, and his hands slid up to wrap around Ikaris' neck. Ikaris's tongue slid into y/n's mouth, who let him take control. They were there for who knows how long before Ikaris moved from y/n's mouth to his neck. If he was human, y/n would be panting but instead he was just groaning and whining. Y/n grabbed Ikaris' head before he could go any lower. "Lets take this to one of our rooms."

Its been 5 months since the Eternals showed up, and it changed alot. First, the city took a great liking to Thena, even changing the cities name to Athens, and changing the temple from solely Y/n, to mostly Thena, but they always called her Athena, which annoyed her plenty. Amother change was Y/n's relationship with the city. As Thena grew more popular with them, and as Y/n spent more time with Ikaris than helping them, they began to make legends about Poseidon and Athena's rivalry, despite Thena and y/n's friendship and mutual respect for the other. And the worst change was Medusa. She was a new priestess in the temple of Thena, which required a vow of celibacy so as to not distract them from their duties. But Medusa had other plans.
Y/n was sitting in the main room of the temple, having recieved a note from someone asking him to meet them there. He assumed it was Ikaris, and only wore a loose toga and didn't carry any weapons. He was grumbling about the removal of most of the fountains, when he felt two hands on his shoulders. He turned around with a smile, but was met with the face of Medusa, instead of his lover. When he saw her, his face darkened. She had been harassing him for days now, sending him presents like statues she carved, or snakes she found. Y/n took a step back and shook his head. "Medusa, I have tried to ignore you and I've tried rejecting you nicely. But I am fed up. You have been told by me, you have been told by Ikaris, and you have been told by Thena. I am in a relationship, so leave me alone." Y/n turned to leave, but Medusa grabbed his arm and twirled him around, throwing him to the ground. She climbed on top of him, a crazy smile on her face. "I know what you've said, but you don't get it. I love you more than he ever will!" Medusa punched him in the face, which the situation left him dazed and shocked, too shocked to try and fight back. Medusa rubbed his chest and pulled her skirts up before sitting back on his lap. "I'll show you just how much i love you." She whispered, causing y/n to whimper. She was about to grab his toga when she was hit by what looked like a golden spear. Y/n turned his head to the side to see a furious Thena and Ikaris. Ikaris moved to Y/n, holding him while Thena walked toward Medusa, who sat on the floor, holding her now bleeding face. "You dare. In not just my temple, not just my home, but his as well? You have been warned human. You have been warned by me, and by him, and by Ikaris. Now, you will receive no warnings, just punishment." Thena said, a golden dagger glowing to life in her hand. She bent over Medusa, holding the blade to her face and y/n had to look away. His sobs and Ikaris's soothing words were almost enough to block out Medusas screams. Almost.
Tumblr media
A week later, y/n stood on a rock, watching as the waves crashed onto the shore, the water never touching him as if it was too respectful to even think of it. His grip on his trident had been tighter than it ever was before the incident. Thena had carved thr image of a snake onto Medusas forhead, and what looked like scales on her cheeks and arms. The city had said it was because she caught him and Medusa making love in the temple, but she couldn't punish him for his actions, so she disfigured her. Other said it was basically what actually happened, but with a role reversal, with Y/n attacking her. No matter how the story was told, it always made him and Thena look bad.
He stared into the water, the foam and sea spray calming him. That was until he heard the crunch of sand behind him and he twirled around, trident pointing at the person who snuck up on him. Ajak stood there, unflinching as the longest blade rested on her chin. "Hello Y/n. Do you have a minute?" She asked, brushing the trident to the side and healing the small cut on her chin. He nodded putting the weapon on his back and sitting next to her on the rock. "As you know, we were sent to this planet by Arishem with very strict instructions and a very clear mission. And all of us have been very loyal and very dedicated to that mission. Until we came here. Phastos is teaching at the school and helping the smiths, Sersi is assisting the priestesses with teaching the girls and has begun dating on of them named Hekate, Thena and Ikaris are not only defending the city from non-Deviant threats, but they are also attacking humans." When Ajak stopped talking, y/n's jaw clenched and he looked at her, a storm brewing in his stomach, and the clouds swirling above him. "Arishem is aware of these, and he blames you. He has claimed that you are a bad influence on the Eternals, your loyalties to humanity are distracting them from their goals." The two were now standing and the ocean was churning as much as Y/n's stomach. "I have done nothing but show them the truth. I showed Phastos something he loves and brings him more joy than anything you have given him. That is the same with Sersi. She found not only something, but someone she loves and she is happy. And Thena protected me from Medusa, and maybe she wasn't a Deviant, and maybe Thena fought against the Spartan army when they attacked the city. But, this is her city. She loves it like how Phastos loves teaching, and like how Sersi loves Hekate, and like how Ikaris love me. I am not a bad influence. I have shown them what they are missing and I gave it to them. So the only persom my influence is bad for, is you and Arishem." Y/n growled, the sky now being pitch black and rain pouring around them, but not on them. The sea was now raging, the waves crashing against the rocks and shore so violently that they would kill a human. Y/n stormed away from Ajak, taking his circle of dry space with him, leaving her alone to think in the storm she caused.
Tumblr media
Y/n played with Ikaris' chest hair, his fingers dancing through the brown curls. "Do you ever regret it? Leaving the Eternals in Athens?" Y/n looked up at Ikaris, who was staring at him in such a loving way that Y/n felt shiver through his whole body. "Sometimes I think of what life would be like if I stayed, if I remained with Ajak, and my loyalty to Arishem never wavered. But then I remember the past thousand years with you and it all goes away." Ikaris kissed y/n's forehead and wrapped and arm around him. "I love you." Y/n said as they stared at the ceiling, each other wrapped in the others arms. "I love you too."
Tumblr media
This was based off a writin prompt I thought of, which was literally: "I'm not a bad influence. My influence is only bad for you." And this was the only pairing I could think of.

New York is notorious for having parties on every corner, gatherings of hundreds of people, and bringing communities together. Manhattan is an island of many ports, and most of them are having fairs and events people can attend. After dressing like you belong in the 1930s, you attend one of the fairs to get to know people and make yourself known.
Crowds of people line up for the rides as well as the games, and you maneuver through them to get to the far end of the pier. You look up and lock eyes with a complete stranger, but there is something familiar about him. You haven't seen that face in years, the face you left behind.
"Ikaris?" you call out even though he can't hear you.
You push through the crowd to get to the stranger, and when you see him, he's with a younger blonde man that's much shorter. They're both enjoying some games, and you realize that it's not the person you thought. You're about to leave when the man notices you staring.
"Can I help you?"
"I'm sorry," you chuckle. "You remind me of someone I knew. I apologize for staring."
"Don't apologize. You can stare all you want," he flirts. "Do you have a name, doll?"
"Y/N."
"James, but you can call me Bucky." He holds his hand out for you to shake, and when you grab it, he brings your hand to his lips and kisses the back of it. You smile shyly and bite your lower lip. He looks a little young, maybe about eighteen if you had to guess. "This is my friend, Steve."
"It's nice to meet you both. I'll let you both get back to losing this game," you tease.
"Oh, and you think you can do so much better?"
"I know so."
"Alright. Show me how it's done."
He pays for another round and lets you play the game. He thinks you're going to pretend to be bad so he can save the day, but he's wrong. You end up winning it and winning the stuffed whale that's about as big as your head.
"Here, you can have him. It's something to remember me by," you grin and hand Bucky the animal.
"Oh, doll, I'm going to have a hard time forgetting you. I think I need a rematch. This fair is open tomorrow. What do you say? Do I have a chance to redeem myself?"
"You might."
And a chance he got. Then another chance. And another one. And you kept giving him chances even after he's beaten you plenty of times. Even after the fair closed its doors to remodel some of the rides, you and Bucky couldn't stay away from each other. He snuck out of his parent's house to be with you, and you'd walk all around town trying to avoid the officers who patrolled the area.
"Are your parents okay with you being out this late?" Bucky asks you when you two stopped at the local playground.
"My parents died a long time ago. I'm a little older than you might think."
"An older woman, huh? I don't mind," he chuckles.
"If my parents were here, I'd tell them about you. I think they'd like you."
You two walk to the swing set and you take a seat on one of the swings, but Bucky stands next to you as you slowly sway back and forth.
"Do you like me?"
"Yeah."
Bucky walks in front of you and stands between your legs. He walks you backward until you can't go any further, and he slides his hands slowly up your body until he reaches your face. He tucks your hair behind your ear, giving you goosebumps. He waits for you to reject him, and when you don't, he leans into you.
Kissing him feels like magic. Kissing him feels like standing on top of a cliff and letting the warm summer sun heat your skin. Kissing him feels like opening presents as a kid. Kissing him makes you feel like you can finally face up to Markus without fear. Kissing him gives you a feeling you've never felt before, not even with Ikaris.
Everything falls into place when you're with him. This is your moment. This is the moment you fall in love with James Buchanan Barnes. If you two couldn't stay away from each other before this moment, then you truly couldn't be apart well after it. Even when he moved out of his parent's house and started going to the local college with Steve, he made sure to make time for you in his busy schedule.
Spending one year with him has been more fulfilling than spending nine hundred years with Ikaris.
If you see yourself spending years with Bucky, then you need to tell him the truth about you. Ikaris was already an alien when you met him, so he didn't have a hard time believing you weren't human. Bucky might react differently which is why you waited a full year to come clean. He's taking you out to dinner for your first anniversary, and it's overlooking the Big Apple.
"Bucky, how much did this cost you?"
"Nothing is expensive when it comes to you."
There is no one else on the balcony, giving you the perfect opportunity to come clean.
"Listen, Bucky, there's something I have to tell you and I'm not sure how you're going to take it."
"You're not part of the cartel, are you?" he chuckles.
"No. I'm older than you think I am--"
"Yeah, I know. I don't mind dating an older woman. I'd say you're twenty-five."
"I'm a little older than that. Bucky, I'm nine hundred years old," you rip the bandaid off. "I'm from a planet called Xenia, and I came here in the year 1000. I left my planet to escape the man who abused me and experimented on me."
"Okay, now I'm starting to think you're not joking."
"I just want you to know how much I love you."
You lift your hand and transform it from your human form into an animal's paw. From there, you turn it into a tentacle before returning it to normal. You lift your other hand and create a small fireball out of thin air. The fire solidifies and turns into water before quickly evaporating. You can't seem to look at Bucky in fear he will kick you out of his life.
"If I see a future with you, which I do, I have to tell you who I truly am. I'm not human. I'm telling you this because I love you so much. My feelings for you are true and real, and this entire year has been the best in my entire life. You make me feel safe, but I understand if you never want to see me again. I just hope you understand I never meant to hurt you."
Bucky gets out of his chair, and you think this is it. He's going to leave and never return. Instead, he walks over to you and kneels so that you don't have to look up to see him. He reaches up and wipes the tears that have fallen.
"Y/N, I love you. It's going to take a long time to wrap my head around this, but I don't care if you're not human. I didn't get to know you this past year just to walk out on you now."
"You don't care that I'm nine hundred years old?"
"You could be ten thousand, and I'd still want to get to know you. You're my soulmate, doll." He stands to his full height, bringing you up with him. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him passionately. There isn't a more perfect person for you than Bucky. "You gotta tell me more about this, though."
You two break away and take your seats when you begin the story of how you came to be.
Markus Hottle was known throughout Xenia as a benevolent CEO of Interdimensional Republic. They specialized in privacy, safety, and communications throughout Xenia. They had a sister company that would expand IR throughout its solar system and into the vast space outside of it.
Markus had everyone wrapped around his finger, which gave him power like no other. Instead of taking that power and doing good things with it, he let it get to his abnormally large head. It fed his ego, and he got so hungry that he didn't only want to dominate Xenia but the other planets around it.
He came up with a serum created by his lab technicians that would give its user special abilities. This was experimental work that needed a test subject, so what better person to do it than his assistant? It's what gave you your shapeshifting abilities. Markus saw how powerful you could get, but that didn't satisfy him enough.
He wanted more.
Word got around that an Infinity Stone was lurking around Xenia. If Markus could get ahold of it, then he could add that power to his serum. Something of that magnitude would ensure no one could go up against him. He wanted to create an army that could be loyal to him as he tried to rule the neighboring planets of Xenia.
He got ahold of the famous Tesseract which held one of the six Infinity Stones. He tampered with the power o make a better weapon, giving you your second set of powers. With shapeshifting and controlling the elements, he knew he created the perfect serum to give to his army. If this serum got out, then the universe would be doomed.
You couldn't let it leave the lab it was created in.
One thing led to another and you stole the only serum before Markus had a chance to replicate it. The Tesseract was lost after the first serum was made, but he stored some power away just in case this were to happen.
You stole that, too.
You used the serum on yourself and used the last remaining bit of Tesseract power to escape. Your body absorbed it all, giving you the final power of creating portals to different parts of the universe. Markus was pissed you were gone with his creation, but you never looked back. You kept running until you reached Earth, and here you've stayed in peace for the last nine hundred years.
You're not even sure if Markus is still alive at this point, but you're hoping to never find out.
If Bucky loved you before, then he's utterly in love with you now. Telling him your life story made you two grow closer to each other. If you thought the first year with Bucky was an adventure, try the next five years. He never once judged you for what you've done or who you are, and you're grateful for having him in your life.
Steve doesn't know about what you are, but you're okay with leaving that part of you a secret for right now. He has enough to worry about besides you. He and Bucky have been taking a bunch of art classes together as a way to stay close to each other, but there is something bigger that they both want to do.
It's 1941 and the United States announced its role in World War II just after Pearl Harbor was bombed. Steve wanted to enlist because that's who he is but Bucky got drafted. Bucky was forced to go so you decided to enlist as well to support him physically and figuratively.
Women in the army weren't a common thing, but they were allowed to enlist for other jobs like nurses or things of that nature. None were allowed combat roles, but you were going to prove to them that you deserve to fight alongside the men who get to lay their lives down. Your powers would be more useful in the field than in some medical office, anyway.
So, when you, Bucky, and Steve went to enlist, you and Bucky got accepted pretty easily. It's Steve who they denied because of his short stature and small frame. He's much smaller than other men his age, and he has asthma which isn't allowed.
That didn't stop Steve from trying, but every time he tries to enlist, they would always deny him because of the same reasons as the previous one.
Meanwhile, you and Bucky got put into the same boot camp to train. Even if you weren't going into combat, you still needed to know the basic training to survive if something were to happen. Something got mixed up that caused you to go to the only boot camp with all men. The other women were sent somewhere else, but they didn't have any room to move you after the fact.
It became pretty clear you were going to be the center of attention, but you only had eyes for Bucky.

Ikaris held onto Thena's thigh as she squirmed on top of his face, moaning as he devoured her.
"Ikaris," she tried to protest. "Too... much!"
He didn’t even take his lips off her cunt, licking her clit and making her cry out.
“I think you can take it,” Ajak decided, cooing her.
Thena trembled, moaning out, shaking over him, cumming again, and Ikaris decided to show her some mercy, pulling away.
“Thena,” Ajak pulled her hair back, standing over her, caressing her cheek. “Be nice. Thank our Alpha.”
“Thank you…” she grunted, crawling away, probably overwhelmed.
Ikaris smiled and was about to answer when Makkari grabbed his face instead, sitting on him to get her own ride, and Sersi’s lips wrapped around his cock, sucking him off.
His Omegas were insatiable and, as a good Alpha, it was up to him to give them whatever they wanted.
They’d all been so needy for him lately. Even Makkari, who had Druig, had been coming to him more an more lately.
“Alpha,” Ajak moaned, taking one of his hands and placing it between her legs.
He ran his fingers on her wet folds, always so sweet and welcoming to him
Of all four, she was the one most eager for him, always. Sersi was more affectionate and confident in their relationship and both Thena and Makkari had their side partners to spend time with - in Gilgamesh and Druig - and never really needed him as much as they wanted him.
But Ajak was always eager to take whatever he offered her, looking for his company and so wet to be fucked he knew only an exchange of looks could get her ready for him sometimes.
“Ikaris,” Sersi called him, lips leaving his cock, and he felt her fingers running on his thighs, hungry. “I want to ride your cock.”
He lifted Makkari from his lips, pushing his fingers into her cunt and playing with her clit just as Thena leant to kiss her, sweet and hungry, humming something he couldn’t quite hear, but might as well be one of her sweet praises.
“And that’s how you ask?” he teased her. “Not nicely, not politely?”
Sersi whined.
“Please, Ikaris,” she begged. “May I have your cock? Can I ride, please, please?”
Ikaris smiled.
How could he ever deny her anything?
“Come now before Ajak beats you to it,” he instructed.
Makkari apparently took his hint, and sat back on his face, and he grabbed her hips, eating her out again.
By Arishem, Ikaris had never found a flavour he had favoured over another but omega slick was by beating to be the best.
He was glad he had mastered multitasking as he focus on eating Makkari - his cheeky Omega rubbing her clit against his nose - as he now fucked their leader with four fingers and Sersi impaled herself on his cock, taking her pleasure from him.
Ikaris was now just their toy, someone they could use to get filled and pleased.
He could already feel his knot tingling, threatening to pop. Sersi's lovely mouth already did wonders and her cunt only served to send him off, he suddenly felt a tight grip on his shaft.
"Now, now, little boy," Thena cooed. "She isn't done yet. None of us are."
He throbbed.
Fucking hell. Those Omegas were going to kill him one day.
He grunted, wanting to growl at her but with his mouth preoccupied, but his attention was pulled back to Makkari when she cried out, rubbing herself harder against him, moaning as she neared her release.
It always pleased him so much to hear Makkari's voice. It was so rare that she even used it, and it was deep and soft anytime she did. Hearing it meant he was doing something very, very right.
She finally came, covering his face with slick, and fell by his side on the floor, panting in bliss.
Before he could even have a moment to himself, Ajak grabbed his face, kissing him deeply.
"You want a ride next?" he offered, using the heel of his palm to rub her clit.
"I want to see your face when you cum," she hummed, moaning as he curled his fingers to find her sweet spot.
"Sersi," he moaned, reaching his free hand to grab her thigh. "Such a fucking good Omega."
She moaned, bouncing on his cock.
"My Sersi," he growled. "So good for your Alpha."
She just moaned more, Ajak's cunt squeezed his fingers.
"Ikaris," she cried.
"Cum for me, my sun," he coaxed his bouncy Omega. "Let me breed you up."
Sersi cried out, cunt fluttering around his cock as she came, and was still shaking on top of him when Ajak came just as well, coating his hand in her wetness.
Ikaris followed right after, eyes connected with hers as he came, dumping his seed into Sersi's cunt and knotting her, as his other Omegas just settled on his big bed - something he had had done especially for them.
Sersi curled on top of his chest, cuddling him as Ajak took his right side and Makkari took his left, and Thena lied across the top of his head, pulling his to rest his head on her soft stomach as she petted his hair.
"Our Alpha," Ajak kissed his cheek.
"Such a good Alpha, little Ikaris," Thena caressed his jaw.
Something filled him deeply. Devotion for his girls, and deep pride, for his Omegas were sated for now, and he could feel their love for him, each in their own way.

Ikaris knew that you were going to die during the Emergence. And he knew that that might kill him more than anything. Unlike the rest of the Eternals, he never really got attached to humans in general. But you specifically? You were different. He may not care for humans in general, but you brought out a sort of affection in him that he never would have expected.
Some days, all he thought about was what it would be like to take you in his arms. To hold you close. To kiss you softly. To know what it was like to be loved by you.
But most days, he thought about what life would be like when you were gone. Human life was destined to end. It was his job as an Eternal to ensure that the Emergence occurred. He was never supposed to become attached to humans, much less one in particular. He couldn’t be like his fellow Eternals. He couldn’t think about such trivial things, no matter how much he wanted them, no matter how he yearned for them.
He had a mission to complete, after all.
He just never expected you to find out about that mission.
“What do you mean you have to kill Ajak?” you asked, overhearing him mutter to himself about his plans to make sure the Emergence still occurs.
“You weren’t supposed to hear that.”
You frowned. “That doesn’t answer my question.”
“I have a job to do here. Ajak stands in the way of completing it.”
Ikaris had told you about him being an Eternal. He had never intended to, but as he spent more time with you, it was impossible for to keep it a secret any longer. But there was one thing he could never tell you.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t see how killing her is the solution? How is she impeding your mission?”
Ikaris almost wanted to lie to you. He knew he would never be able to stand seeing the look on your face when you learn of the Emergence. But, he hated lying to you even more. So, reluctantly, he said, “She stands in the way of a Celestial being born.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Thousands of years ago, an egg was placed in Earth. It’s finally ready to hatch.”
“Hatch? But won’t that destroy the planet?”
“Yes. But billions more lives will be created by the loss of a single planet.”
“Are you really so callous?” you asked. “Do the lives here mean nothing? Does my life mean nothing?”
“My mission,” he said, “takes precedence against all else.”
You scoffed. “I can’t believe this. How could you do this? I thought we were friends, Ikaris. I thought you cared. I thought—” You shook your head. “Never mind what I thought.”
He stepped forward, reaching out to you. He flinched as you stepped away from him. This wasn’t what he wanted. He didn’t want you to be scared of him. “Tell me, please.”
“I loved you, Ikaris. I loved you more than anything I’ve ever loved before, but I know now that that can never be reciprocated.”
His heart dropped. “Don’t say that, please. Please. My, my mission may come first, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
“Your mission is to kill me.”
“My mission is to make sure the Emergence occurs.”
“Which will kill me.” You shook your head, looking up to the ceiling. Ikaris pretended he couldn’t see the glassiness of your eyes. “I wish you would just kill me now. It might be a kinder fate.”
“Y/N—”
“Do it already! Kill me!” you snapped. “Or are you too much of a coward to do your dirty work directly? You’d kill an entire planet for your stupid mission, but you can’t handle killing a single person who tells you to? Regardless, I will die by your hand. What difference does it make?”
“The difference is that I love you too much to kill you!”
“But clearly, not enough.”

"touji gets closer to shinji and tickles his chin with his hair, nuzzling his neck. it's too painful for touji to look at his closed eyelids and hold his weak, motionless hand. shinji doesn't squeeze back, doesn't intertwine his fingers with touji's, and doesn't resist. shinji did not allow and did not refuse. shinji's heart is pumping sea salt through his body. the white foam gently melts on their cheeks and the sky does not exist. touji doesn't want to know anything anymore, doesn't want to know the reality, the terrible truth or the reasons to hope, so touji looks only at shinji, sees a mole on his neck and pretends that the sky has disappeared.
touji breathes water and lets it corrode all his organs, touji cries blood and becomes part of the ocean, depriving himself of all that imaginary that made him human." (full fic - sorry, only in russian, i used translator and had to correct some details myself to translate this part properly :( )
