I saw your requests are open and I was wondering if I could get an (romantic or platonic, it’s up to you) Overwatch Matchup? Headcanons, or a small drabble if you prefer (cooking or shopping together?)

Sorry, this is gonna be all over the place, but:

I’m a demigirl and gay asf (women iykwim). A bit taller and kinda chubby? My hair is pretty short and I have a tendency to impulsively dye it with wash out colours. I’m also an audhd kid lmao. Born and raised in Austria, so I’m fluent in german as well as english (I know a tiny bit of spanish too!)

I live for cute things!!! It’s round and soft? I need it!But I come of as kinda scary because I dress more punk/alt, which is a shame because I’m touch starved and want a hug real bad. I also have a very strange sense of humor, which I’d need a partner who wouldn’t mind that.

I love vocaloids and goth music and I think that sums up my personality perfectly haha (my favorite musician rn is Shilpa Ray!!!) I listen to music pretty much 24/7.

Ideally, I’d like someone who’s fun to be around, yet still respecting of my boundaries. My love languages are gift-giving, parallel play and physical touch and I’d need a partner who would be excited about randomly getting leaves or just memes from me. I love baking and cooking for people I care about!! I also draw a lot, alongside other creative things like sculpting, photography, cosplay and writing. I tend to stim when really excited and if someone joined me in doing that, it’d actually make me want to marry them or keep them in a glass terrarium to observe their activities. I also just LOVE shopping, even if I don’t end up buying anything.

You giggled and watched Mei as she was fully focused on icing the cake you two had made together. Her tongue was slightly sticking out to help her focus and she had a dot of white icing on her nose.

She pulled back for a second to look the cake over and you needed to help get rid of that icing that was annoying you so much. You kissed her on the nose and licked off the icing making her giggle. "Ew, don't lick me!" She said jokingly, lightly pushing you away.

"You had icing on your nose." You said, taking the piping tool from her to finish up the details on the cake.

"Did I really?" She asked, her face going a bit red.

"Yeah, but it was cute." You stopped icing for a second to give her a kiss on the cheek, making her smile.

"You know, I think this is the best cake we've made yet," she said, putting her hands on her hips proudly. "What do you think, babe?"

"Oh, definitely!" You finished icing the cake, satisfied with your work and stood to admire it for a moment before taking a picture.

"Are we gonna eat the crap outta this thing?" Mei asked, already grabbing a fork.

I accidentally got a Daily Deviation on Deviantart. Which very cool, thank you so much. Its not my first one ever but first one recently and I'm still impressed with the amount of active users there. Kept my inbox a bit busy. I kinda upload and run so I wasn't expecting that much interaction. I probably should pay more attention to it because honestly it has netted me more interaction then the ever holy twitter.

I've so far screwed up my day today. I accidentally slept in til 9am and I can't tell you the last time I did that. Maybe on a nightshift a couple years ago. I usually am up by 6am. So my entire day and schedule is thrown. Im debating if its even worth it to go to the gym at this point. Silly I know, somebodies early morning is 9am.

I did finish painting the silly drawing I'd been trying to get to (the bubbletea guy above). He's been in my sketchbook for a while but I either kept going out of town or I ended up doing another project instead. This one was actually the one I meant to do in my cheap dollar store pastel watercolors from Typo but I didn't think it'd be colorful enough to use all the colors..hence I drew a rainbow llama. But thats why he's kinda colorful. In hindsight the watercolors definitely would not have colored that background (I was thinking about doing a gradient) and I could not get colored pencil to go over those watercolors either. So it wouldn't have worked out. Which is why its always so scary to try out cheap art supplies! If you draw something you kinda like and destroy it with bad supplies it kinda physically hurts. When I drew him I was trying to keep it kinda ugly to where I didn't care if I destroyed him but then he turned out cuter than I had anticipated. He got my regular wash of color instead.

anywho, I know its obscenely colorful haha.

But again, the vibrant color is fun in the sketchbook he's in. If I was a journal-er I could decorate the entire occupying page with stuff and it'd be artistic.

I did film the painting process of him that I'll upload to youtube either later today or tomorrow. Since my schedule is so thrown off now..ugh..I dont know. I wanted to start one last project too celebrating the end of august.

Final Selection, Provocative GesturesBecause when I was choosing a topic I was drawing a blank. So I picked the most emotionally charged category and started researching.

Provocative Gestures

Provocative gesture refers to depictions of people designed to evoke an emotional response from the viewer. The emotion can be anything. What slots a design into this category is that it's a person, and what they're doing carries emotional weight and relevance.

Works in this category often pull on preconceived imagery and tropes, but place them in a new light that gives the viewer a new idea.

Creative Concept

I wonna make a poster to help fight depression, negative intrusive thoughts, self-loathing, all those mental health issues. At the same time, I want to make something that gives credence to how scary that can all be. It's a relevant concept to any demographic and can never use enough support.

I’ll depict the struggle of it all but imply progress or finding a way out. In my sketches, I kept returning to a simple, hunched, panicking figure, he’s almost a little icon. I stretched his shins so it looked like he was standing on stilts, or taking off. My plan is to depict him in the sky hiding from a murky and chaotic scene below.

The provocative gesture will come in with the figure's obvious vulnerability contrasted with its powerful place in the hierarchy of the image.

Design Decisions

I made the figure a lot smaller, and more muscly than I originally intended. When I first thought him up he was an emaciated waif, but making him look sickly rendered him too sinister. Drawing him tiny also helped him seem like an underdog fighting against the odds rather than looming over the viewer. The scene… works. I opted for a forest of decrepit telephone poles and added a circling vulture. I added depth with dozens of chaotic, unclosed, overlapping, and terribly anchored paths that make for interesting patchy shadows. I was trying to depict a setting that exuded uncertainty and anxiety. But to be honest, I think it probably would have worked better with a much simpler background. Drawn more attention to the subject matter.

The caption “Fly If You Let Me” is minuscule at the bottom of the composition. I wanted a phrase that wasn't optimistic but wasn't only doom and glume. A little microcosm of the wider image. It's small to give a sense of both powerlessness and intimacy. Im hoping it talks more directly to the viewer after they've seen the other elements.

author’s note: super tired, i should be packing but im not lol, 4am gang ayyy. as always not proofread because i cannot stomach the idea of rereading what i wrote. this was what originally ‘save your tears’ was going to be, but part one got too long so haha. spoils of part one, so if you haven’t read it go ahead, or don’t lolol it could be read alone ig hurr hurr ♡

At one point in time, you would’ve enjoyed an atmosphere like this; the blaring lights, pounding music, and even the heat radiating off warm bodies in a cramped space. It was much more enjoyable when you had the familiar, comforting presence of him.

Yes him: Oikawa Tōru. Also known as the the guy who broke your heart less than two months ago. You hadn’t seen him since the week after, finally being able to pick up everything and go. It was scary how silent it was between you two. The unit the both of you had made a home, your first home with him, just a little more barren. Just a little more bare.

Just a little more empty.

Once homely rooms were now plain. To anyone else, it could be called minimalistic or modern. Sleek if you were to exaggerate it. To the both of you however, it was just stone cold. A lifeless corpse. One poor imitation of what it once was.

And seeing it like this was almost enough to have your heart break for a second time. It was a physical representation of your relationship. The feelings of warmth, comfort, admiration, any and every word any literary body could ever akin to love was once found here. It was sad to see it gone, almost like it was never there. However if you looked past the surface you’d see all the small details of things that once occupied the room. The once full drawers now easily fitting clothes with plenty of room to spare. A countertop with products only to one half of the sink. The minuscule dust imprints left behind on the shelves that once housed your books.

The lingering smell of your perfume that was once so prominent.

You couldn’t tell, but Oikawa could. In the week you were gone, it slowly started to fade. The first night Oikawa was drowning in it. It clung to, what once was, your pillow and on the blanket. Choking and suffocating him with the sweet smell. He couldn’t bear to see the bed without you in it, and hated the God awful smell. Opening the window and facing away, he had a dreamless sleep that night.

And as the week passed, so did the scent of you.

He couldn’t explain why, but the moment he opened the door, his body felt at ease. His eyes blessed, even if you had those dark circles and slightly red eyes with unkempt hair. It was as if it was instinct to feel relief at being near you.

It was the longest few hours of Oikawa’s life that day, and somehow it was still just too short. Helping you gather your things, putting them into boxes and loading them into a tiny hired truck until eventually there was nothing left.

You were gone from the apartment, and now Oikawa’s life.

It was awkward the second time, saying goodbye. The finality of it all dawning on the both of you. You at least had this excuse to see each other once more. After this, there was nothing. No more reasons to come back, to call, message or even see each other again.

This was officially the last time you’d ever get to see Oikawa Tōru.

You’d both stood there for a few moments, only the wind against leaves and the occasional car offering any sort of background noise. Neither of you wanting or willing for this moment to end. Despite it all, it wasn’t hard to see that you both yearned for each other. Just how cruel it was that you couldn’t see it.

Oikawa kept your pillow close that night. The smell of you was so faint, he was sure that it wouldn’t be too long before it completely faded. As he held the plush item near his chest he couldn’t help but wonder what kind of life he could’ve had with you if he wasn’t so prideful? All the fantasies and white picket fences surged in his mind, and so he finally drifted off to sleep, thinking of you.

You turned to see your best friend handing you a glass of, well you weren’t sure exactly but anything to dull your senses at this point was okay in your book. Yes, almost two months since your breakup and you were still so torn. It was what he wanted right? Your lives are better this way. You’re sure his is. He wouldn’t have to hear you “nag” as he so put it, and you didn’t have to feel the exhaustion resulting because of it.

It was better this way. You knew it. Oikawa knew it. Your friends and family knew it. Heck even the old ladies down the damn street knew it.

So why did it feel so shitty.

You downed the drink quickly, not wanting to go through the spiral of emotions you were sure you were going to experience. You’d deal with the pain and hangover tomorrow like the adult you were. For now you just wanted to dance till your feet hurt, and then drink until they stopped hurting. A quick descent into self destruction that you’re sure you’d regret.

Or maybe you wouldn’t.

The moment you turned your head to get back to the dance floor you locked eyed with him.

For a moment you stopped breathing. The music faded out quickly and the patrons of the club disappeared. Suddenly it was just you and him.

He looked good this time around, nothing like the last time you saw him. His perfectly fluffed and styled hair that was just so effortlessly Oikawa had become messy bed head. His bright chocolate eyes that twinkled just a little with mischief when he smirked had become sunken. His whole demeanour had completely drooped into a depressive state. It hurt to see.

He wasn’t like that now. He looked like how he had been before. No longer were the remnants of a heartbroken man. Oikawa Tōru had gone back to his charming self once again.

A cute girl with silky, long black hair approached him and just as quick as they went, everything came flooding back; the music, people and you found yourself being able to breathe again.

She touched his arm and laughed. The look in her eyes filled with the glimmer coyness. Her body language oozed with flirty persona. It was all too familial.

You should’ve guessed that he’d date again. It wasn’t like he couldn’t. The moment you both severed the relationship he had every right to do what he wanted. You did too. Sure you were seeing someone, but it wasn’t like that.

All too, touchy-feely.

It hurt to see, you weren’t going to lie. Seeing the way he touched her, held her, danced with her. For a good portion of the night you saw it. Seeing him be with her, the way he used to with you. No longer being the main character in his story; you were in the audience, watching.

You didn’t want to stay until the ending.

Without a word, you briskly brushed passed sweaty bodies, being bumped a few times before you finally made it to the door and opened it.

You walked a couple paces to the middle of the footpath, deeply inhaling the fresh air. It wasn’t suffocating anymore. You fumbled with your purse, reaching inside to pull out your phone. With the glow of neon lights emanating behind you, you saw a stray tear on the blackness of your screen.

Fuck, when did that happen?

You wiped it with the palm of your hand, and went to unlock your phone. As you prepared to send a text you heard the call of your voice.

“Tōr-Oikawa?”

He mentally winced at this, the formal tone of using his surname struck something inside. He didn’t like it, not at all. It wasn’t right, it felt strange.

“What are you doing here?”

“What are you doing here? You followed me”

“Right... I guess I just wanted to see how you were, that’s all” he looked away, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. You softened at this. It just took you back to why you fell for him in the first place. The little things like this, that made you feel cared for and loved. Perhaps for a few minutes you could be delusional and pretend that Oikawa still cared for you.

“I’m fine, what about you? How is everything going?” Yikes. You cringed at how awkward you were being. You supposed that that’s how it was, not exactly friends and not complete strangers either.

“Yeah fine too...” he trailed off, and just like that you were brought back to that time before you left. Before the official goodbye. Not ready to end things just yet, but neither knowing what more to say.

Just for a little while, let me remember every trace, curve and detail.

You didn’t know what came over you, but soon enough you found yourself drawing closer to Oikawa. He looked at you with half lidded eyes, not daring to move a step, almost afraid if he did it would ruin this moment with you. Yes, it was selfish but...

You lifted your hand to cup his cheek, just like a memory from before. Using the pad of your thumb, you gently brushed over the soft skin. Ever so delicately, you traced down his jaw. The intimacy of your movements crossed a boundary between you. You knew it and he did too. You’d let yourselves be greedy though.

Oikawa raised his own hands to touch your face, perfectly ingraining it into his mind and body. His fingers slowly going over your features. He wouldn’t allow himself to forget any part of you.

It wasn’t long until you both wanted to overstep more.

The longing between you too great to try and stop. Eventually you both moved closer, faces and soul alike reaching for the other. Just a bit closer.

“Y/N?”

“Oikawa?”

You both frantically pulled away, heart racing now.

“Kageyama..”

“Tobio”

Oikawa tried to hide the venom in his voice, he really did, but when he saw Kageyama make his way beside you he couldn’t help but see red.

It didn’t seem like life was playing a very fair game.

“Oikawa are you alright?” He looked down at the petite girl beside him, now clinging to his arm. He threw on one of his brilliant smiles and told her it was okay.

“Are you cold? Here” Oikawa couldn’t keep up that smile for too long, not when he saw him putting his jacket around you. How you snuggled into the warmth. How it showed Oikawa that you were no longer his, and that you now found solace in another.

He couldn’t blame you, he knew that deep inside. He did the same, why shouldn’t you? It didn’t stop the burning hatred and envy he felt. The overwhelming sadness that enveloped him. All a heavy dump of emotions thrown on him within a few seconds.

You felt it too though. That girl hanging off his arm. Getting to parade around that Oikawa was hers. It was totally unreasonable to feel this way. You both ended things. It was mutual right? You would’ve told him and he would’ve told you if this breakup was a mistake right?

Right?

“Wanna go?” Kageyama whispered in your ear. You nodded.

“It was nice seeing you again T-Oikawa” you smiled sadly.

“You too Y/N...bye” you both turned away, walking in opposite directions. With every step, your heartache grew just a little more. Almost like your body needed to be near his, the memories it held being more truthful than your head could ever be.

Your heart, body and soul wanted Oikawa.

Your mind told you to let him go for his sake.

“Hey Y/N?”

“Hey Oikawa?”

“Yes Kageyama?”

“Hmm?”

“He was your ex right? Oikawa?”

“That girl back there, is she her? The ex?

“Yeah he was”

Would you say that art school is worth it? I've heard horror stories from lots of art school students who say that they didn't learn anything because they were too concerned with getting their massive load of homework done asap without actually retaining the lessons the assignments were supposed to teach them. Do you feel like you've learned a lot?

mmmmm im gonna say i dont think its possible to be forced to do massive amounts of drawing without retaining anything. a lot of learning as an artist is just brush mileage- racking up experience by working with the same tools a bunch of times. i definitely feel like im learning a lot, because even when im not paying attention to the lectures, i have to do work every day, which makes my art muscles stronger through use. (also, homework is assigned so that you actually apply the things you learned in those lessons)

aside from just racking up a bazillion “brush miles,” i do feel like ive learned stuff! some of the things i already knew but didnt know how to use/contextualize correctly, and some of the things are concepts that i had never heard of before.

also, and this is a HUGE one, art school is about training you for your field. when youre not learning new techniques, you are learning to do a bonkers in yonkers amount of work at once, VERY QUICKLY. that’s a valuable skill to hone! Knowing how to work with deadlines is part of your artistic progress.

one of the main things ive taken from art school is that my standards for a “small piece” are WAAAYY bigger now. Drawing anything besides the human face used to feel like a huge mountain to climb, but now I can draw the interior of a room for a background without thinking twice about it. When I sketch, I now think more like “What’s the coolest composition I can come up with, and what elements can I use to make it?” and less like “I have to find a way to hide the parts I don’t know how to draw well”

here’s an example! i drew this about 4 years ago, and drawing this window/exterior was a HUGE deal for me. It felt like a massive undertaking.

I took forever to render the water, and I wasn’t interested in trying to render the curtains at all because they were difficult. The window was my main focus in the drawing.

Fast forward to now! My professors didn’t teach me how to specifically draw curtains and windows, but now I’m less intimidated by them. I’m so comfortable adding elements like this that it’s not even the focus! It’s just a background element that I didn’t NEED to have, but I can include it now because it doesn’t feel like such an undertaking anymore.

(This is a work in progress btw)

And the best part? This doesn’t even feel like a big piece to me anymore! Simply drawing a person from the waist up in this pose might have been really scary for me before. Now that I’ve stretched myself, a composition with a person AND a dog AND a window AND an outside scene isn’t intimidating at all.

ANYWAY this was a very long winded way for me to say YES, i have learned plenty here! Just some of it isn’t the stuff I expected to learn, like light and shadow, but instead how to manage myself and talk about my work.

First days of school were always kinda rough.

No one knew anyone, nor what anyone’s quirk was. You had power until someone found out you had a stupid quirk-or no quirk at all. It was an unfair hierarchy yet to be overthrown.

“Ne ne-Mina-Chan, right?” A soft spoken, (h/c) boy piped up as he walked towards Minas seat. Even if he was on the softer side, that wouldn’t stop him from making a friend or two.

Mina chuckled and gave (y/n) a short, animated, description of her quirk. It was acid apparently, and had nothing to do with her looks.

Sero absentmindedly followed (y/n) around the classroom as he asked people what their quirk was. He was hoping he’d miss him. He didn’t want someone to comment on how he got into the hero course with a boring quirk like hi-

“You’re Sero-kun, right?”

Seros blood ran cold. He shifted in his seat to face the boy standing beside him, arms resting on the back of his chair. He was awfully close, and his hard, but soft gaze seemed to make him melt into his seat. He didn’t know why though. It was probably due to the fact that he was about to disappoint him with his quirk.

“Yeah...that’s me alright. What can I do you for?” Sero jabbed a fist into his chest, trying to seem as cool as possible to make up for everything else. (Y/n) smiled.

“I was wondering, since I saw something kinda bulking out of your elbow sleeves. What’s you quirk, Sero-Chan?”

Damn, already with the ‘Chan’? The black haired boy gulped and pulled up his sleeve. “Well-I can shoot tape out of my elbows. It’s nothing interesting, I know...I’ve heard it plenty of times...”

Sero ripped a small piece of tape off from his elbows, and stuck it onto (y/n’s) blazer. He hadn’t met his eyes yet, fully expecting him to be disappointed or underwhelmed. Instead, he felt a finger lift his chin up to face the boy standing in front of him.

“I think your plenty interesting, Sero-chan.”

It was only now that Sero seemed to notice how the morning, sleepy light flooded into the classroom, making (y/n) glisten and glow like an angel infront of him. His finger was still on his chin, but he was harboring a soft, clad smile, full of genuine interest and kindness.

The raven haired boy broke out from his trance when (y/n) peeled off the tape from his button up and stuck it tentatively onto Seros nose. He flinched slightly, before his cheeks burned a pinkish color and (y/n) ruffled his soft, black hair.

“I’ll see you later, yeah? Let’s eat lunch together.” And with that, (y/n) walked away, probably to ask the boy with the glasses what his quirk was. Or maybe the girl with the earphone jack ears.

Sero knew that he were probably just being nice, but he couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit special. He felt the genuine admiration flow from his voice as he smiled warmly at him, and complimented him.

He peeled the piece of white tape from his nose, holding it close to his face for a long minute. He chose to ignore the pounding, fluttery feeling in his chest as he stuck the piece of tape onto the edge of his table.

That single, offhanded compliment was how the ever-plain, flushed, Sero hanta, became hooked.

Quiet was always kinda nice, especially for Kenma. Not so much (y/n) though.

Kenma sat propped up against his pillow, playing on his tv with the controller resting on his lap. (Y/n) sat across from him, sprawled out on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. When Kenma said he wanted (y/n) to come over, he expected them to yknow...actually hangout together.

After another minute of deafening silence, with the occasional ring of kenmas video game, (y/n) decided he could take no more. He wanted cuddles, damnit.

“...say, Kenma,” (y/n) heard a pause chime in Kenmas game, taking that as his cue to continue.

“Do you love me?”

There was more silence, before the pudding head looked away bashfully. “Mm...you already know it, right....”

“Well...yes,” (y/n) looked at Kenma, holding a neutral expression. “But I wanna hear your say it.”

There was more silence, before (y/n) took matters into his own hands. He hoisted Kenmas arm up, earning a small yelp, and crawled on top of him, holding his own body weight with his arms as to not crush his boyfriend. He then tucked his arms in between both their chests nimbly once he knew both of them were comfortable.

(Y/n) forced Kenma to look at him, but he shifted his head to the side, slightly whipping his hair onto the boys face. Kenmas hands, having discarded the game controller long ago, brought his hands to wrap around the boys torso in front of him, even if he wasn’t looking at him. (Y/n) eyed his arms gently.

“Y’know...with physical body language and stuff, you have proof you’re liked,” Kenma held his head to the side, but he listened intently at his boyfriends soft words. “It’s super easy to understand.”

“It can be convenient at times, but you can also immediately understand people’s change of feelings. It’s very scary.”

(Y/n) laid his head on Kenmas shoulder, humming quietly before going on with his rant. “But-I told you countless times that I like you properly.”

Kenmas blush deepened with everytime he recalled (y/n) randomly professing his love for him, whether it be on the court, smiling and dicking around like an idiot, or more calmly when he’s walking home with him and Kuroo.

(Y/n) lifted his head to look at Kenma with a heart wrenching smile.

“I do that, because saying ‘I like you’ to the guy I like, makes me super happy!”

He untucked an arm from underneath him and touched Kenmas face scarcely. “Don’t you think that?”

Kenma finally faced (y/n), gripping the arm holding his cheek with furrowed brows and a blush. While he did face (y/n), he didn’t look at him, opting to take interest in a patch of dust just outside his window.

They stayed like that for awhile, until Kenma brought his gaze up the the boy on top of him, who was look at him patiently, with soft, kind eyes.

“I...” Kenmas flushed face couldn’t be any redder. “I like you...”

Kenma kept repeating those words, in various ways such as “I like you so much” or “I..I like you, (y/n)”. He kept at it until his mouth ran dry, all the moisture draining and expelling itself in the form of tears brinking at the corners of his eyes. They taunted him like flames licking at the corners of his pretty face, threatening to spill, if Kenmas throat had not closed up and let him say “I like you” one more time.

Panic hit (y/n) like a truck as he spazzed out on top of his weepy boyfriend. “A-ah! Wait no no no no-I didn’t mean that I was like-mad at you or anything! I was just ranting and stuff oh god-“

He wrapped his arms around kenmas neck, nuzzing into his side with tears forming in his own eyes. “Kenmaaaaa, aaaah Kenma-chan I’m shooo showwyyy!”

Kenma dried his eyes. It was silent again, with the sound of sniffles echoing across the quiet room. Kenma shifted once more, to face his boyfriend, and wrap his arms around him, forgetting about his game or his tear stained face entirely.

“Tears make me tired...” he mumbled, drawing the boy closer. “I want cuddles.”

(Y/n), now happy again, obliged and wrapped his arms and legs around him. The quiet background music of kenmas game played in a non irritating loop, eventually lulling the two boys to sleep.

Hm. I guess (y/n) got his cuddles after all.

I am just now finding out about your chosen one au and must know more

ok so i decided to copy paste everything i wrote to my friends when talking about it so its gonna be long Oups ... but it's the most complete ill ever be about it !

so this is set in a universe where gods, old and new are very present and usually they have humans serving them, regularly called chosen ones, every century or so. it's considered an honor and every sanctuary and gods have different missions for their chosen ones and it can go from taking care of the temple every week while being allowed to have their own life to go on a mission to erradicate evil. humans usually know that they are destined to be taken in by gods because of marks on their body, specific to the god(s) they'll serve. the mark starts to glow and guide them to where their god is waiting for them once the god decides they want them.

the story is set on an island stuck between two different temples. on the island stands gotham which is a strangely sunny city, and then you have the deep sea in the bay, and the deep forest north of gotham. if gotham is mysteriously devoid of bad things, its because it's been giving every century a child to the old gods temple in the deep forest. and time is coming, soon, another one will go.

so here you have the wayne family, they mostly have the same backgrounds ? kind of ? cass's parents were mercenaries that went into the deep forest, where no one (haha) in gotham dares going due to fear of breaking the old gods protections, never came back, and left cass on her own in town. bruce adopted her. dick's parents were travelers on a ship that sailed not far from the island and while they did not survive, the gods in the deep see allowed dick to stay alive until he reached the coast. immm not quite sure of what happened to jason's parents yet but uh he's here and alive woo

damian is a bit of a mystery to most people. he was delivered to bruce's doorstep when he was only a few days old. what they dont know is that nine months earlier bruce went into the deep forest himself.

so added to that is timothy drake. young boy of the drake family, the two parents who dont seem to care for him much. the boy is quiet but full of smiles and affection to give and when jason and cass drag him to the wayne estate after a day out, bruce opens his arms to him. he's a regular at the wayne house and a few days after he turns 11, he stops showing up. bruce's kids cant find him. the drakes dont seem disturbed by their missing son. and bruce knows the drakes by now, know they wouldnt give their affection to someone they knew would disappear, and bruce realises tim is gone, to the old gods in the deep forest.

so tim, 11, wakes up sweating and his room lit up with a green light that he's never seen before but in dreams and he knows that it's time. he knows that this strange mark spreading across his back, shaped like a dragon, is glowing green. he's being called.

he moves by himself, not thinking, opens the door to his room and the one that leads outside and it's so fitting when he notices that his parents arent even home, that he'd leave without them caring. soon he's reaching the deep forest and for the first time in his life, when looking at the dark depth, he's not scared, and he walks on.

tim walks and walks and there are eyes looking at him bu the soft green glow reassures him, and he knows where he should walk, and soon he's reaching a temple, strong stone and green plants and a setting sun carved on its floor, and there is a man - a god ? - walking out. and his eyes are glowing green like the mark he knows is glowing in his back, but it feels wrong, and when tim looks around again everything looks so much hostile,

tim made researches on the deep forest temple, since he knew it was gonna be his future, and he knew that temple was supposed to host old gods who were dying, so why does it feel so wrong ?

tim approaches, despite himself, and waits for the man - god??? - to say anything. there is a hand, wrinkly and uncomfortable and cold, on his cheek, and tim looks up, and he's shivering when the god - he knows hes a god. he knows he is now. - speaks up.

"i am ra's al ghul. you were given to me to serve me. you will obey me in any way i see fit, and you are to never return to your human town."

tim did make researches before he was taken. he knew that usually the child taken by the deep forest gods could travel to town without punishment. he knew that, with pattern, they were taken early, before they turned fifteen. he knew that he would most likely be lucky, have a mostly free life. he didnt know that a new god in quest of power had taken over, chained some of the old gods inhabiting the temple, killed others, simply for power and magic. he didnt know that he would be chained to a scary and cold temple, with a terrifying and powerful god that could turn him to dust on a whim.

so thats basically,,, the intro ? the first part ?

so a few months after tim disappeared, it was jasons turn.

jason, much like tim, had marks on his wrists and arms, long lines following his limbs. they're signs of being of the all caste temple, chosen one for those gods. for the ones in the deep sea. now these humans linked to temple in the sea are a bit different than the kind that tim was supposed to be. the all castes purpose is protection, and while there always is a human chosen for them, they're not always called for their purpose, in fact, no all caste chosen one had been guided to the temple in the deep see in generations.

however, one day, jason woke up, glowing white lines on his arms, told dick that he had to go to the sea, and disappeared for months.

jason doesn't remember going into the sea when he wakes up in the temple, doesnt know how he survived the journey there, but he's there, by the will of the gods, and he's informed of his purpose.

something hover over the island. something bad. it's already there, its root in the islands ground, and it must be killed. that will be jason's purpose. he doesnt know where. he doesnt know when. he knows it will happen.

so they train him. they give him the weapons and magic he will need to defeat the enemy. they want to protect the island and its inhabitant.

several months later, jason leaves again, with new knowledge and strength, and washes up on the beach, and dick finds him, unconscious. he brings him back to the wayne estate, where he tells his tale of sea gods and protection and prophecy where he is the hero.

years pass. its been about nine years since tim disappeared, since jason went to the sea temple for the first time. damian is 16 and damian wants answers from his father. he knows he's from the deep forest. he knows his mother is there. he wants to meet her, he wants to know her. but bruce never talks about her, never says anything about their meeting, like he was commanded not to, and damian decides to go against all beliefs he has grown with and he prepares. he will get in the forest. he will find his mother.

except jason know his little brother and he knows and sees him planning and on the night he leaves, jason is here, not stopping him, but ready to follow him into the forest. he has a feeling. something is there for him too .

so they travel in the forest, they're not really sure how to find damian's mother with how little bruce ever said about her, and they find creatures along the way, some of them recognize damian as one of their kin, which is how they realise damian's mother is either part god or part spirit, and jason as a god's messenger. they do not guide them, but they do not attack them.

until they walk into a territory they feel they shouldnt have walked into

a small being with wings and claws attacks, telling them to not trespass, it's smaller than jason had been at 14, but it's furious and cold and it strikes right. and when jason finally looks up he's terrified to see that he recognizes the child in front of him. and its wrong, because tim should have been nineteen by now, but he doesnt look older than 15.

finally the fight draws to a close when jason calls out for tim, a name he musnt have heard a lot, or not recently, not with care and not without an order behind it. tim stops. tim looks. he recognizes the boys in front of them, even if its been nearly ten years. after all they were two of the last humans he ever saw.

"you cant be here. you cant be here if he knows he will kill you and i cant let you die. please you need to go"

im not quite sur how they get tim to follow, or if they get in ra's territory, but they camp in a safe zone with tim, and tim tells them his story

[torture mention, non consensual body modification]

after ra's took him, he tortured him, he experimented on him. after all he was his first ever human tribute, to obey and be controlled at will, a toy for an immortal, and after many games of the new god, he settled on making tim a sentinel for his property, one that will age slowly and wont feel pain, a puppet with no strings but one that is scared of ra's power, enough that it will obey. jason and damian are Angry. something at the back of jason's head tells him that this ra's might have something to do with his own prophecy.

so after that its more blurry but tim reacts strangely to damian, he's a bit scared of him and he figures out it's bc of his heritage, that he has links to ra's, and he leads them to talia who's half god half spirit and hidden deeper and deeper in the forest, away from her father, and it makes tim leave the territory he's supposed to guard, disobey ras, which makes ra's angy bc tim never disobey, not since the first few times when he was 12/13 and thought he would still get out,,,

so there is a bit of a final showdown w tim talia jason and damian facing ra's, ra's using his hold on tim to hurt him, and talia torn between her father and her son + tim who she's seen grow up from far away and who she feels she should have protected from ra's,, jason eventually has a one on one with ra's and the prophecy does happen and he kills ra's and angry old gods who were chained in the temple wake up and banish ra's soul from this realm.

they heal tim from whatever ra's did to him, with the promise that he will travel to care for the god's temple again, as his duty was supposed to be

they all get back to gotham, tim still looks 15 but will grow to his real age within a few months, he has many scars and the mark on his back changed for a setting sun like what was carved on the temple's entrance, damian has his Mom, and jason is free from his all caste duty.

The Red Flags of Meghan Markle (& other essays)

Hello empress! I changed phones & cloned the old one. Apparently, I wrote this stuff on the Harkles in my notes. Done in 2018, edited Feb 2019. How time flies on this trainwreck duo! Thought I'd share, for a bit of reminiscing :)

1) the running to Vanity Fair

2) she herself praised her father (until she started dating Harry)

3) The only one at her wedding was her mother (who wasnt there while she was growing up, but convenient now because she can play the racism card). Out of all her family, no one gets along with her? Not even a niece or nephew, a cousin? Not even the uncle who got her the embassy job (and she did not qualify for a foreign service position. Oh she must be so smart)

4) With money at her disposal, how difficult is it to fly and talk to her father in person? Make a deal.

5) the "racism" card

6) No lifelong friends (and her best friend spoke out against her) Forget childhood friends, but not even college friends?

7) The confusing bump. All the bending (that pregnant women attest simply is too difficult).

8) The yoga but no muscle contour

9) Shady AF at Eugenie's wedding

10) apparently still living-in with the chef when she went on a blind date with Harry

11) "Is he kind?"

12) Not knowing much about the RF or Harry when she followed Diana, and wrote about Kate and William's wedding on her blog.

13) Got a role in suits, dumped the producer husband. Met harry, dumped the chef who introduced her to the higher circles in the Canadian society. Who's next after Harry, a Russian oil magnate?

14) The merching. And its obviously merching. Usually 3rd party websites and blogs post what they wear but with M, its the designers themselves who post on their sites, even soho house

15) The dysfunctional family.

16) I get the sexy scenes which are for roles, but the other racy videos, what were they for?

17) labeled herself a "humanitarian" after 1 World Vision trip. If that isnt egoism right in there.

18) the word salad speeches. I admit she really talks well (in manner) but doesnt get to the point. Thats her way of showing her "

"intelligence ."

19) the being disturbed by the media (lol we didnt see her being papped, Kate experienced that for years). What Diana and Kate went through was scary. Where are these photos and videos of Meghan being chased by paps? Im sure even with KP dealing with things, some would still surface. Even went on a pap walk with the PR guy, she was not ever chased. And you see people in the background did not even bother to pull their phones to take a photo of her.

20) the way she flips her coats to show her bump

21) the expensive clothing for a technically minor royal. Spent almost 400% more than Kate, not even a year into the family. She's not even important in the grand scheme of things. And many of those dont fit her right. Doesnt know how to dress for the occasion.

22) the bump holding. We get it, you're pregnant, but to have your hand attached to it almost 24/7, thats not normal anymore. Thats drawing attention.

23) The unprofessional behavior. People are easily fooled into loved up displays because who doesnt want love right? But when you're representing an office, you have to be professional. The constant PDAs are like teenager behaviors. You're not there to showcase yourself, you're technically diplomats/ambassadors. Do we see handholding among those in events? Very childish. Look at them now, even when there are times Harry obviously does not want to hold hands, they still do because they've set a precedent. Look at the Endeavour Fund handholding, that looked so stiff and hard. In the event they dont show PDA, the people will be wondering why and the attention will be shifted off the cause they're representing.

24) the clinginess. She cant make a move without clinging on to harry. Isnt it just stupid to walk in really high stilletos if she cant walk in them? 2-3 inches are fine.

25) the cookbook. Made it all about her in her written foreword (and thats her only contribution, it was the ladies who worked hard on it. Then she barged in and it is now her project. Wasnt there a story of her claiming her bf's recipe as hers too?). Is she still working with the charity now after the isis fiasco?

26) the inappropriate tour clothes. Sure KP would post it, they had to.

27) did not curtsy properly to the king and queen of tonga. Basic respect. People said its because she was pregnant and can't bend, but why is she bending non-stop?

28) the borrowing of jewelry (half a million for that? Lol). Are they allowed to? I thought they are not allowed to borrow or receive those kinds of gifts.

29) the engagement interview. Took over even questions directed to harry. And they dont match answers (18 mos and 2 yrs)

30) the engagement photoshoot. Even the future king and queen did not have 1, they had just done it in the palace, no need for a location shoot and expensive dress.

31) cant dress appropriately. Summer clothing in the winter? Really thick skinned.

32) couldnt take criticism. She lashes out in the form of her "friends" everyone critical is a bully and racist. Statements had to be made for her. Lol.

34) who runs KP IG? Her people? Liking Meghan's friends post when they were not supposed to. Its also been observed that criticisms against her are erased, but the ones on Kate stays on. Her "fans" even hijacked William's speech on bullying. How is she bullied? People have reactions to HER OWN actions. And you,'re living partly on public money, it comes with the territory.

35) the doxxing of people. No more free speech now. Arent people allowed opinions (as long as there are no threats). Isnt it her fans who are on twitter wishing for the deaths of the cambridges so she can be kween?

36) leaked private engagement photos (there werent leaks before she came in) esp after a series of K & W private engagements. It's like "oh im important/doing something important too"; the " secret" visits with a lot of photographers and a red carpet rolled. Note that these are supposed to be secret, and not an embargoed private engagement.

And weren't there studies that those who show too much PDA are those who are insecure in relationships?

37) exorbitant cost of clothes when they are taxpayer-funded. And they're so ill-fitting and lacks class. Even if it is funded solely by the Duchy and not taxpayers money, it still smacks of bad taste to go spending that much in UK's troubled times. Marie Antoinette?

38) the constant belly cupping, the back bending before she was "showing". Even on an official photo. She cant even clap properly bec it goes back to her belly. And usually pregnant women cup the top or the bulge, but she does it at the bottom. Afraid the bump would fall off? Maybe that explains the tight clothes, so the bump wont fall off. And notice she does it much when the engagement is of only her or with harry. If out with other royals, though she still does, its not as much. As with all things, there's a level that ok and fine, then there's overkill.

Also, people noticed she did not gain any weight, and 1 week after (the museum event), she showed up with a plumpier face (fillers?), But nothing changed in her body, esp the ankles.

39) the KP statement: when was she papped? Were people chasing her like they did diana and kate? Were there police reports of attempted entries to her house? Who are these friends and were they at the wedding?

They just called the british public racist. If someone who partly lives off my taxes (and they are not voted into it), I would certainly react and ask for a proper vetting before that someone gets my taxes.

40) The 2013 interview with Craig Ferguson. Ive seen a lot of celebrity interviews never this level of flirting. This is blatant flirting and she's obviously selling herself hard. So don't be fooled by the doe eyes, she looks at other men that way.

41) The Markles were silent until PH said the RF will be "the family she never had." Compare that with William's statement on the Middleton family. Before that, even when she was in Suits, they did not say anything. But before dating Harry, dad was the best. Haha! I get it, hiring papparazi is also despicable but seriously just talk it out? How hard can that be? He had to navigate his way through the news and did not receive help/orientation. Besides, Harry has despicable offenses also (eg the Nazi stunt). But he had always been forgiven because "oh poor boy, lost his mommy" but William did not act out even though he went through the same thing (although I know people react to trauma differently)

42) more on Harry but the "I hope she loves me" is already indicative of the state of things. Haha!

43) the doxxing of those who dislike Meghan but no efforts being done for those who posf against Kate (even with those who post threats)

44) when she started dressing for the winter (museum outfit), she looked like Melania Trump. Hahaha!

45) The royalty worked hard to shed its celebrity image after Diana. And now its back to that, even worse bec there's social media.

46) what was that shoot for that ended up in Pornhub? (Was that for a role?)

47) the recognition of fans she supposedly interacted with in IG. It stopped when people reacted how many more of them were planted.

48) her IG popping up. Im sure thats no Instagram breach. Were there previous cases of deactivated IG accounts suddenly popping up without the owner activating them again? We would have heard of it. Someone, even with a few followers, would complain about that. Just 1 public complaint and the others would jump on IG bec thats a privacy issue.

49) the inconsistencies. Vegan but cooked and ate chicken, wore leather

50) abandoned her dogs. Seriously, they can afford private jets. How hard could it be to transport an injured dog? If flying is dangerous, there are ships. Even the photos with her animal patronage, the dogs dont look like they like her

51) the #hellotokindness campaign which only applied to her (but not to Kate and Camilla).

52) changed her nose, got implants which are gone now (those boobs in deal or no deal were obviously fake) .

53) what's the deal with her constantly eyeing up William? And side eyeing Kate?

I think Harry is more spoiled than what I previously thought, seems like no proper vetting was done on her. Or they feared the "racism" backlash. After all, its easier to divorce than to be labelled as a racist, especially in current times when it could easily backlash the whole institution (that could be a global outrage).

What she is not:

1) contrary to what her fans claim, she is not a Hollywood a-lister. In fact, her biggest role was as a supporting character in a cable show. (Was it overly popular? If people had to google who she was - someone told me she was most searched- then that means not a lot of people knew her). She already had one foot in the door (with an Emmy winning dad, and still cant get roles? Must be a bad actress.

2) She does not embrace her black side (until the narrative was convenient). (Does she bleach?) Didnt she list herself as Caucasian (not half-caucasian in her bio/resume?) Who were her friends before Serena Williams and Jessica Mulroney? Straightens her hair, changed her nose.

Her fans who do not know the history of the family (even as recent as Kate and William and label everything as "Meghan inspired Kate" Kate copies Meghan. Lol. Kate was already in the RF before Meghan was in Suits.

I dont get the lazy title. Kate was part time royal, building a family and stepping up now that both her and William are full time. I wonder, if they are lazy, what did Harry do before Invictus? The current run of Invictus wasnt even that successful (his wife stepped all over it). And what is Harry doing now aside from tagging along his wife's engagements?

There were negative press about Kate (but only in Britain) but Meghan seems to be widely disliked (her "friends" called it global bullying). Maybe because social media was different then but to be vilified by other populations (than your own/new country), why isnt she sitting well with the world?

- The need to "modernize" the need to "rebel". Dont fix anything thats not broken. I dont really get this preoccupation with having to rebel, sometimes there are things that dont need changing. There are rules for there to be order. There can be healthy respect for tradition (unless its harmful and had to be changed. But what is harmful with the way the RF is ran?) Surely things can be improved (but does it have to be done forcefully and disrespectfully?)

- kate and william are boring. Lol. They're steady and dependable. You can be exciting nd wild at any time, but that wouldnt help in the long run. See how cheeky and wild Harry was, what now?

- KP releasing a statement essentially calling people "racists". Kate had been heavily papped in her early 20s and why wasnt there notice to back off? Then this 35 (then, or maybe 39 already) actress who should have already been used to being papped complained a lot about it (but then ran to Vanity Fair. Lol). You can tell people to back off without calling them racists ya know. Kate and William did it well (and sued those who severely infringed their privacy)

Sometimes I think "oh she might be telling the truth bec who has the audacity to lie that much in such a public setting". But then I think, oh yeah politicians, some actors, and some encountered well-spoken psychopaths. So its really possible.

How were the Middleton family social climbers? What is wrong with being an air hostess? If they managed to enroll their children in expensive schools (even at a young age), wouldnt it mean that the business is already successful before William and that they already had money? All these years (aside from that one uncle), they all had behaved impeccably and are a grounded family. You do not see them imposing themselves but you can see the support they have for Kate and William's family. Btw, who informed the press that Doria was invited for Christmas? Wasnt true no? Hahahaha! Also, who told the press about a possible US-Canada tour? That's like putting the queen into a corner isnt it? Since the public "knows" even if there are no such plans, they should just give in. And why send them for a trip with that level of importance? They're not the ones who will be running the royal family. Essentially, they will be nothing once George comes of age.

- what is this preoccupation about "modern". What do they mean by modern in this instance?

- the current fan culture. The royalty is not Hollywood, they are not celebrities. They are ambassadors/diplomats. They represent causes, not actors.

- The way Ive seen things progress, the anti-Meghan accounts are a reaction to the Meghan fans who first created anti-Kate accounts. They started the comparisons, people just defended. Crazy stan culture. Havent seen people calling for Meghans death, but I have seen plenty threatening the lives of all the Cambridges.

- Oh Harry was fun, wild, cheeky. He has more "personality." And now, what did fun, wild, and cheeky bring to the family? Not fun no?

- the constant use of the race and bullying card. People cant have opinions now? And even though she is criticized, she is not criticized because of her race (she doesnt even claim to be black, she's always identified as half-white, not half-black). That's why there are many who dont give a toss about racism and bullying because its constantly used as an excuse (I know there are REALLY MANY cases of racism and bullying and those make me angry), it's almost like the boy who cried wolf.

- who paid for M's gown? With the veil overkill. If M's dad was supposed to be in the wedding, did we see him with tuxedo fittings? Was he given proper orientation? Seems like no one from KP briefed him on anything. I think this is more deliberate to have Charles walk her down the aisle. That solidifies the 'family she never had.' Besides, C is the next king, she had to get close to him (although I doubt Camilla will tolerate it, esp in private)

- "she's doing more engagements than Kate when she was pregnant. She's more hardworking. Kate has HG, thats fucking life threatening"

On Prince Harry

- We know people react differently to trauma but how long will he use the excuse of his mother's death (and how long will the public let him). People seem to forget that while Harry lost his mother, william lost his mother too. And yet he did not act up. He probabaly had it even harder because he's older, he had seen more and understood more than Harry. He had to deal with his pain while he was helping Harry deal with his. Yet he did not lash out, did not do anything wild. Except for that night he went dancing with a random girl on a boys' vacation (I felt really sorry for Kate on that one and really girls, when a man is already married, hands off), he conducted himself with dignity in all times. He finished his education, done courses on agriculture, trained in the military and served. He took his time to marry (and while there are many negative opinions about him and Kate, those had been thrown out the water once perspective is gained in comparison to Harry and his wife).

- Harry was tolerated and babied for so long. Was he reigned in after his Vegas stunts (on public money?)

- wanted the quiet life and yet, married an actress. He could give up his titles and lead a private life (he's not really important anyway) but he wont, too many privileges to give up too (or his wife would run in the opposite direction since she wouldnt have attention)

What Meghan fans criticize about Kate

- her flying skirts (can you control the wind? Even if weights are put on hemlines, strong winds can still blow them). That is different from someone DELIBERATELY choosing clothes with thigh-high slits, and see-through dresses.

- she has not worked. She was in college, then worked for Jigsaw, then worked for their company. Try working also with papparazi hounding you every day.

- Meghan hustled, she is a millionaire. Oh really? Did she buy her gown? Besides, there was some declaration that she was paid 450,000 per season, was that net income? How about payments to PR, stylist, etc etc?

- K & W kept their relationship lowkey as much as they could. M deliberately displayed hers on IG (that spooning banana. Lol)

- Kate is a curtain, she's just in the background. Lol. Try raising a family in her position. Even if she is "just a housewife" (which she is not), what's wrong with being a housewife. She's raising her children who are the future of their family. And its obvious that her and W are hands-on parents, you can see it in how they interact with their children. Besides, isnt that what feminism is, to allow women the choice to do as they want. While others want to be CEOs, others want to be housewives. Kate has a lot of supported charities, she envisioned Heads Together (there was one interview where W said something like she is not given much credit, but she started the project- it's the interview of Heads Together with all 4 of them).

Meghan could not claim that she was not welcomed. In fact, among all royal girlfriends (Diana to her), she had it the easiest.

- before her IG shut down, she was allowed to post coded innuendos of their relationship

- the Vanity Fair article was allowed to be printed

- she was welcomed into the fold even before she was wed: Christmas in Sandringham and was even given an engagement: Heads Together

- most of all, KP and Harry issued a strongly worded statement for her.

If the public perception of her is negative, its all on her. She's already 36 (or 40) at the time they got engaged, she should be mature enough to understand the world she entered into. But no, she chose to barge her way in (really verifies that she is pushy).

hey do you have any advice on getting started in the rp community? feel free not to answer if you don’t want to!

Buckle up, because I have a lot to say about this! I had to figure most of this out on my own, so I tried to be as thorough as possible. Feel free to skip over things you already know!

So you want to join Tumblr RP?

Hey, welcome!

The Tumblr RP community can seem hellaciously complicated, but it's really not. Sure, there are a few basics that most people expect, but after that, there are tons of people out there to talk to and interact with! Some are friendly and open, and some are more reserved and restricted. That being said, here's some basic terms and styles you'll run into!

"Muse" is just another word people use to refer to their characters. They can be an "OC" or original character, or a "Canon" character from a TV or book series you enjoy. They can even be "Canon Divergent," where you don't follow or even change canon events in your writing, or "Genderbent," where you play them as a different gender.

"Mun" refers to the person behind the muse. When you speak "OOC," out of character, people will know you're talking and not the muse.

"Multimuse" is a blog where people have more than one muse to choose from.

"Multiship" is a blog where the muses can have more than one (usually romantic) relationship with various other characters. These all happen independently of other relationships, each in their own separate little universe. Speaking of-

"Multiverse" is when a muse can have various things happening in a RP, but it doesn't effect at all any other RP they have with different partners.

A "Thread" is the ongoing RP. Whatever you're reblogging and responding to, that is the thread.

There's different writing styles, too!

"One-liners" are very short responses to a thread, usually one or two sentences long. This is especially good for "crack" threads, which are more comedic, random, meaningless threads for fun.

"Single Para" is when the response is usually about a paragraph or so long.

"Multi Para" is multiple paragraphs in a response.

"Novella." Gods save the novella writers, for it is an amazing skill. They usually write a few thousand words into their responses. If you like writing a ton of stuff, like you're writing a book, this one is for you.

Then, there's selectivity!

"Nonselective" writers are more open to a bunch of different partners. They don't have a strict criteria for who they want to write with. That being said, they do refuse to write with people from time to time if it's not working, which is okay.

"Semi-selective" people have a few more criteria they're looking for when they RP with someone, but they're still fairly open.

"Selective" and "Highly Selective" people have several criteria they want met when writing. What exactly can vary from person to person, but they're generally more choosy than others. Disclaimer: you might hear them called cliquey, elitist, and snobby. That's not true. Sure, some people are, but most are just looking for a writing style they can work with more easily, or they don't have a lot of time and want to spend it with people they know they'll enjoy writing with. Maybe they had bad experiences and want to protect themselves. It can be any number of things.

"Mutuals Only" or "Private" blogs want you to be following them, and them to be following you.

One more thing:

"Indie" blogs are blogs with muses that have no fandom. OCs are usually found here.

"Group RP" are RPs in a set universe, usually with characters premade that you can choose from. These groups usually RP within the group only.

"Crossovers" are when you want to mix fandoms. Want to take Superman and stick him in Gravity Falls or with The Doctor? You want a crossover!

Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's really get started.

First Things First

First, you need a blog. I know, I know, it sounds obvious, but it's important to have your RP on a separate blog from your normal one. If you want to post memes or politics and discourse all day, by all means, go for it. Some people are just here to RP and get away from the world for awhile, though, and don't want to see those things. The solution, then, is to have two blogs.

You can make a sideblog to your main one and RP there. Just let people know you'll follow them from your main blog, if that's what you want to do. Or, you can have a totally separate main blog. It's up to you.

Now, some people say you need a big, fancy blog theme to go with it. I'm going to go on record to say you don't necessarily. I use Tumblr Default, and it never held me back. That being said, if you want to have a fun, creative theme, there's plenty to choose from! Just do a quick Google search and find what's right for you! Make sure, though, you can make at least 2 separate pages on it, and give credit to the one who took the time to make it. I also recommend it have text that contrasts with the background and is large enough to read, just so people don't have to squint.

At this point, it might not hurt to think about tags. What will you tag your normal RPs? The memes you reblog? Your OOC posts? What organizing tags will you use to make sure people can find things easily?

Next, you need a "Rules" page and an "About" page!

Your Rules are what you expect from a RP partner. You can describe yourself a bit and explain things here. For example, say violence is a topic you want to avoid in an RP; you can note things like that here. Let's say your muse is a villain, and you refuse to make them kind because it's out of character for them; let people know. You can also mention how selective you are, how much time it might take for you to get to threads, how best to contact you, and so on. If you want to plot a thread out or just jump in, let people know. This is where you let people know what to expect, and what you expect from them.

The About page is one of the most important things you can have. It's where you describe your muse. Tell people their background, their appearance, their personality, so on. I like to look up character sheets and fill those out. Even if they're a canon muse, it's important to summarize them where people can reference, especially if they're canon divergent.

These two are requirements for most people to RP with you. You can put them on separate Tumblr pages, Google Docs, a post on the blog itself, whatever. So long as you have links where people can find them easily, it's up to you where you put them.

Jumping In

Okay, that's the technical stuff out of the way. Now, we get to the good part: actual RP.

Finding partners is an active process. People aren't just going to roll in. You have to put yourself out there, I'm afraid. However, it's not as scary as it sounds.

My personal technique for finding people is to go into the tags to look. "Open RP" and "Open Starter" are generally the first ones I check. People post RPs you can respond to here. Make sure you check their rules and about pages first. After that, jump in! A lot of them might not be a permanent RP partner, but that's okay! If you're tenacious enough, you'll gather a few people after awhile.

If you're in a fandom, then use that tag to search for people. "(Fandom) RP" will be where you hunt for those.

"Group RP" tags have group advertising. If you want to join a group, here's where you'll find a bunch. They have their own rules and characters, so be sure to check out their stuff before you ask to join in!

Another thing you will see is RP promos. These are basically advertising a blog and its characters. It can help pique your interest, or if you make one, it can pique the interest of others. With these, you can always follow the blog and see how to best contact them, either through an ask or an IM, to ask if they want to RP. The worst they can say is no, after all. You'll never know until you try.

If you want to post things in the tags yourself, you'll need to wait a bit for Tumblr to acknowledge your blog - about a week - then post away! You can make your own open starters or RP promos to try and draw people in. Canon characters tend to draw in more people than OCs, but don't let that discourage you!

After all of that, it's just a patience thing. For example, I've been here for years, yet only have about 10 people who RP with me. Others get hundreds of people following them. What matters is that you enjoy writing with the people that want to write with you. It'll take some time to find those, but they're out there if you look. You might even make some new good friends. Who knows?
