The final pushing force that actually got Angelo Bronte killed
So we going to talk about something we going to clear something up a bit. Because the crowd that always want to talk about Dutch going crazy and shit you know I think you're reading to stuff way too much. And I feel like a lot of people that have a negative view on Dutch and the unreasonable way that they do is simply because these are the main people that played the first Red Dead Redemption that came out years before the second one. Y'all already have it in your mind and y'all have your minds made up about who y'all think Dutch is and y'all coming in with a negative view of him to begin with. So when you play the first game it's easy for you to say well I already saw Dutch for who he is in the beginning of the game because you were looking at him from the perspective of the first game. For those of us who never played the first game and walked into the second we don't have that sort of perception. But I think that's a conversation for another time. I need to just point one thing out. And while Dutch may have a bit of crazy in him and give him the circumstances he's under who the fuck wouldn't be. I'd say what really got Angelo Bronte killed was his mouth. Do y'all remember what this man kept saying to him? You could look at how irritated Dutch was getting with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Angelo Bronte made it very clear about how he felt Superior to Dutch. And even in his stupidity knowing he was captured by these outlaws couldn't help but keep rubbing that in his face. Y'all give Dutch such a hard time. Anybody in Dutch position would have killed Angelo Bronte a long time ago. But Dutch for whatever reason manipulative or otherwise was willing to work with this man and some kind of way after taking his prodigy son. I'm sorry was anybody else I know including myself would have not taken the kidnap of their child lightly. But they were willing to let things go and let things fly with this man for him to do what set them up to get killed and played games with them.
And then to add insult to injury he still ran his mouth talking shit to Dutch even insinuating that his own men would turn on him for $1,000 hence why Dutch said I possess things that you don't understand that you will never understand.
Angelo Bronte insisted to continue to talk his shit talking about how he run this city and that they're all what people are running from and just kept psychologically and verbally fucking with Dutch and you can see it in his face how fucking tired he was at everybody. Tired of the pinkertons hated the fact that the Braithwaite and Gray situation went soured away it went.
Angelo Bronte insulted Dutch's intelligence and made a fool out of him. And when they were on that boat I didn't get the impression that Dutch was actually going to kill him. Until he started running his mouth talking shit and there it was his head going under water. Angela Bronte running his mouth and kept fucking with Dutch is what got his ass killed. Of course among other things. Go look at the video on the boat when they were having that whole conversation and you can see the anger just growing more and more in Dutch's face. If his ass would have sat quiet and be humble he probably would have had a chance to live and they probably would have used them for some type of ransom. But no he wanted to run his mouth and talk shit crying about how he run this town and so head honcho in town. Well Dutch proved him no matter how much money and swag he had it couldn't save him from a bunch of Outlaws that he deemed lower than him.
So with this being said Dutch going crazy no longer works here even if he was going mad which I believe he was we can't use that for a soul purpose to demonize Dutch. I can understand why Angelo Bronte got killed. I know many that would have killed him sooner. But let me shut up cuz you know y'all like to look at Dutch apologist like we make excuses. No we just see things for what they are. Y'all came in playing Red Dead Redemption 2 after playing the first one looking at Dutch like the bad guy regardless. That's why y'all can't see him the way we see him. But I digress. I simply digress.
Rewatch this video and you'll see exactly what I'm saying.

Like I said he should have kept his mouth shut! And he might have not became an alligators late night snack.😂😂😂
My grandmother once told me a quiet tongue makes a civilized head. And when I look at this clip over and over I begin to realize and see what she really meant by this not that I didn't understand it before but that proverb really hits home in this situation. My grandmother had a saying for everything.😅

Hello again, soldier 🫡
Uhhh random question time, who are your top 5 fictional men?AND what’s your hair routine, like what product do you use? Cuz I’m trying to change mine up a bit.
Hey hi Captain 🖤✨
Top five?! Put me on the spot will you. Like of all time? Oof that’s tough. Okay, y’all better not judge a hoe.
1) Ulquiorra “Bamboo” Cifer from Bleach. He’s my first for a reason and I’ll love him unconditionally no questions asked. He can rip out my heart and I’d thank him for it wow I love that man 🖤
Tumblr media
2) Zuko from Avatar The Last Airbender. Purely platonic because I’m a Zutara shipper but when I first saw Zuko I knew. “He a good one.” and he hasn’t failed me yet. His redemption arc go crazy and Dante’s rent was due when he voiced Zuko. Just an amazing character all around like all hail Fire Lord Zuko in this house.
Tumblr media
3) Joker from the DC Universe. You know him, you love him. What else is there to say? It doesn’t matter what version (yes it does🤭) The Joker is an ionic character that I’m always attracted to. I’ve always loved the villain in a story so Joker, someone who is evil incarnate, just does it for me. 🖤
Tumblr media
4) Sesshomaru from Inuyasha. I’m taking it back old school! He’s my brother in law (inside joke and I ship SesshKag) I absolutely love his character in the show and movies. He was the ‘villain’ in the story but overtime we got background stories to prove otherwise plus his redemption arc went bonkers and his fanart is always🔥
Tumblr media
5) Undertaker from Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) I just wanna marry him and suck his dick. I am not ashamed. I haven’t seen not one fanart I didn’t love and his character within the show is 🤤🖤
Tumblr media
Now! Onto hair routine 🥴🥴😆
Girl I’m a low maintenance girl with 4c hair. Nine times out of ten, I do a silk press because my hair texture is so annoying. Think of tiny coils compacted into a cotton ball. Ugh I hate it.
If I don’t detangle five minutes after I wash, it mats up automatica. So I use Design Essentials since it does the hard work for me. Black owned and they have all natural products for all natural hair.
I use their Agave and Lavender Blow Dry collection in tandem with their Detangling shampoo and Anti-Itch shampoo. Yes three shampoos, ya girl has needs.
I rinse with the blow dry collection’s conditioner and it’s game time. The clock is ticking and my hair is a beast to detangle. I prime and protect with a thermal serum to each section of my hair and use the products to help detangle with a wide tooth comb before blow drying.
By that time it’s an electrocuted Afro but it’ll revert back to curls if left untouched. So either I’m too tired to continue and I leave it as is or I move onto pressing it.
I use either my TYMO straightener or their flat iron to press my hair or use both if it’s a humid day.
Other than that I wrap it up and my hair stays under a bonnet majority of the time. I’m not one for elaborate styles and stuff and I only unwrap the silk if I have a work meeting or if I’m leaving the house for longer than an hour.
My silk press on average lasts me a month or longer.

What are the hazbin theories you got
Cause I know you hot some >:)
oh god i dont even knowwwww ;-; i mostly just pick and choose from theories ive seen other ppl post about honestly.
ig im most interested in who Alastor made a deal with. obv everyone assumed its Lilith, cuz of the "7 years" thing matching up, but i've also seen people mention a character named Roo, whom i think they found in old hazbin art?? but idk how viable they are, considering we dont even know if they'll appear in the show. also with the Eve theories (that i am VERY vaguely familiar with) maybe it could also be her that he made a deal with?? (and i do want to see Eve play SOME sort of role in the story, since so far she was just mentioned off-handedly) or some completely separate entity, hard to say.
i kinda wish its not Lilith, since i think having his deal be a separate storyline from whatever is going on with Lilith and the deal that SHE made would be more interesting? oh ive also seen a lot of people mention La Sirene, an entity related to Voodoo/Vudou, and how she might be tied to Al and Lilith alike.
personally im mostly enjoying theories/lore tidbits about Alastor and his mother. idk how much of what ive seen is canon and how much is just fans' interpretation, but im pretty sure his mother is canonically in heaven. the idea that Alastor (a dude that canonically is a mama's boy) is separated from his mother by literal heaven and hell is... well it has a lot of potential imo. she definitely is important to him, since apparently she is the reason he always smiles.
i also dont know if they plan on redeeming Alastor??? it kinda seems like there might be no way back for him, nor does he seem interested in changing anyway. so far most characters at the hotel displayed at least a capacity for change and he just doesnt give a fuck (valid). on top of that i dont even know if i would wanna see what his potential "redemption arc" might be. i guess they can always give him a more detailed backstory (and i'd love to see a glimpse of his life on earth, i love the idea of a radio show host turned serial killer, and the way that he died is legit so cool to me) and they could rely on his relationship with his mother as a gateway to redemption? the idea that the only way they can reunite is for him to change and become "good", abandoning the things that (while obv morally reprehensible) have come to define who he is as a person (demon?).
like i enjoy the idea of seeing a more... i guess honest and vulnerable side to him, but at the same time i dont want to "babygirlify" him too much and make him a sad poor boy who is just so so sad and please pity him. i very much do enjoy the idea of a fucked up dude enjoying being fucked up and evil. but also on top of that i like the idea that he's not completely heartless, that he loves his mother and is capable of caring for people despite everything. and also i wanna see what led him to yk... become a killer in the first place. i have to imagine he didnt just wake up one day with homicidal tendencies, plus its more interesting to see how he BECAME something, and not just be told "he is this because YES" (for example i saw some stuff about his father being horrible and also being the first person he'd ever killed but idk if thats canon or not sooo).
anyway not so much theories as me ranting about Alastor and stuff. im not much of a theorist. but thank u for the question anyway ghost ^-^

So this is late but I saw a post commenting that forgiveness=redemption (paraphrased drastically) is “INCREDIBLY culturally christian.”Today I was watching Santa Claus is coming to town where Kris says changing from bad to good is as easy as taking your first step which interests me b/c taking the first step is difficult as heck and seems impossible when you’re a little kid trying to walk for the 1st time. Pt. 1 - WoTF anon
Pt.2 So I feel as if there was potential in some sort of redemption arc regarding Gaius that we were robbed of. There was potential for Werylt quests ahhhh - WoTF anon
There was a bit of discussion about this on Twitter earlier, where I brought up again that Werlyt's a story with good base structure and ideas but poor execution.
Also Kris is saying the opposite of what he means in such a line; first steps ARE hard, that's the point. But once you start, it becomes easier to keep going once you've got your balance (and then, as any parent of toddlers can tell you, it can be hard to stop).
I rambled and ranted a bit so under the cut it goes.
And yes, so many people in the West, especially in the US, don't realize how culturally Christian they are, even if they reject all versions of "the Church" and declare themselves agnostic, another religion, or even atheist. Our culture is built around modern Christianity--I mean, many of us have a short work week due to a major holiday that, despite the old pagan origins and modern commercial trappings, also has rather strong Christian vibes.
I am definitely specifying Christian here, as not all religions are the same. And the Christian views of atonement equaling redemption and forgiveness permeate our literary tropes. So much so that people cannot comprehend of them being, in fact, separate (if related) concepts.
Nevermind how it was very much all over Stormblood (particularly the climax of 4.1 and those words to Fordola post-battle!), and in more than a few Endwalker quests as well--a person can change, and work toward making themselves and the world better, without expecting or gaining forgiveness from those they wronged in the past, who are justified in not offering forgiveness and continuing to be angry.
The change, the redemption, comes from within oneself and one's choices. Much in the same way as another important realization for Endwalker's MSQ and its prevailing themes. And how putting aside hates and fears to say "OK, things are just screwed, so let's be human and help and support each other instead" are so important.
One of the most frustrating things for me in Werlyt is how Gaius himself was too often the only one to remember he had something to learn and then atone for his wrongs, though I do appreciate he never once sought forgiveness and doesn't care to get it. Other, too late attempts to remember people are justified in anger were hamfisted in there (and Valens so doesn't count...for much of anything, really). Gaius was treated with kid gloves after we had the non-apologetic Emet-Selch as the Big Bad of 5.0. It was frustrating cuz while I liked hating Gaius as an enemy so convinced of his own righteousness and hated his return from the dead, they had started him on a fascinating path and he reminded me of Roger Zelazny's more famous novel protagonists. So I started to like him as an anti-hero and recovering true believer, having the lies of the Empire stripped away (except the way it was done also made him look incompetent and blind). Also the fascinating Shadowhunter plot went...nowhere.
It's also telling how some people will like, enjoy, or even love certain villains, but are utterly unreasonable about others, even when those characters are trying to turn around. That those fans feel like they're being "forced" to forgive them--especially when it's a fictional character. But it also speaks to that problem in current social media trends where people just aren't allowed to change, let alone be "forgiven" (by whoever they actually hurt, not just Joe Random on Twitter who took personal offense). Where someone digs up years old dirt from ancient posts to "prove" someone is "really evil" and tries to "cancel" them and the harassment and doxxing for old sins--even ones apologized and corrected for long ago!--ends up wrecking people and sending them offline. All so someone can make themselves feel "better" about "stopping abuse" when you know for damn sure they've never volunteered at a womens' shelter or at the local soup kitchens or donated to antibully funds or done anything else of actual change ever in their lives, all their interactions are through internet media and they forget the concept of real people over characters (and this applies to many aspects of fandom).
Anyway, too many people who go on negatively about offering former enemies forgiveness and a measure of mercy aren't actually paying attention to the blatant text, are seeing a Japanese based but global game from a very narrow specific Western cultural perspective, and are a little too convinced of their own self-righteousness a lot of times. And it likely made an already mediocre storyline for them so much worse, because they don't care to get themselves out of that shallow box.

Now for second part of this long ass trilogy. I really do wish that we could dive into Steve and the party’s one on one relationships. Like obviously we have Dustin and Steve but the others don’t get that one on one special time. Which I think Mike and Steve’s relationship is fucking hilarious. And has so many layers. Like he knows him as Nancy’s boyfriend who then turned ex for some fucking reason. Like I highly doubt Mike knows the real reason they broke up. Yeah it was because Nancy liked/loves Jonathan but at the same time Nancy and Steve’s relationship was so complicated that Mike would not know the true extent of everything. But also he would have to begrudgingly accept that Steve is a part of the party while also secretly loving it at the same time. Like Mike hitting that bell in season 3 again after Steve said ‘again seriously,’ was peak sibling culture. also I honestly saw in season 2 at the last few episodes with them interacting as peak siblings. Steve and Mike both had the same goal: keep everyone safe. They just disagreed on how to do it and how everyone should act. And they bickered so well. I think a lot of people had noticed it but when Steve said about the sports game reference we had Ted have that same reference in either ep 1 or ep 2 of that season. And there is such a difference in the reactions. Yes, the situations were different and the relationships were different so the reactions were called for. But also it’s an interesting thing to note. Mike just rolls his eyes at Ted and then with Steve mike just full on argues with him.
Anyway back to Steve and El and Will. Legit Steve and Will friendship makes me so emotional. Especially because I also believe that Steve would fumble with his words with Will. And not know how to act at first with him. But at the end of the day he just understands Will in a way I don’t think anybody really could get. Because like I said before they’re both on the outside and they’re experiences were different from the others. Which is why this makes me emotional not gonna lie. Cuz also I think will with his experiences would feel like he was older than the others in the party (regardless of who’s actually older in the party) and Steve is definitely the oldest out of all of them. I feel like I keep saying this but they honestly parallel each other way too many times. That I’m finding it hard to believe that it’s not accidental.
Along with el and the rest of the party. Like he really does parallel each and every single one of these kids and Nancy and Jonathan and hopper and Joyce. While I do think there are parallels between each of the characters: Steve is the main one who is a jumbled up version of each character. While I love his character development, it also parallels each character from season 1. The anger issues and lashing out: which is something that hopper, some of Jonathan, Lucas, and Mike had experienced in season 1. Which is why I don’t know why Steve’s development is seen as such a big deal. Like I said I love his development but was it really that different than the others? Like the main thing that was setting them apart was he was popular and they were not. He was also putting in a mask/front in front of people but in that season Nancy also had that going on so it really wasn’t that different. Idk it just baffles me a little bit that some people see Steve’s development as this God-tier moment/redemption when it was legit just character development that also all of the other characters were going through. Saying the I want Steve to die in season 1 as an example. It just baffles me especially when some people are so quick to excuse Billy’s actions. But then on the other hand it pisses me off when Steve is compared to billy which is reasonable because billy was the worst and was almost like dr brenner.
Anyway now because I talked about Will and Steve, it’s Steve and El time. Honestly yes I can totally see Steve not understanding why El needed a babysitter. Like the first time he saw her she legit looked like a punk kid and destroyed a demodog. Which is why my tag for them is brotp: punk kid and confused boy. But then once hopper would explain why he wanted Steve to babysit Steve would be on fucking board. He would be like ‘well why the fuck didn’t you just say that?” And hopper would give the most exasperated look ever and on the inside regret it a tiny bit. El and Steve once they get to know each other would legit just vibe. With my mood board for them I legit wrote how Steve and El created a blanket fort which is so cute and I totally see them doing. But then I also ended up making it sad because El helped with her powers. So it was kind of like a thing where she didn’t realize she didn’t have to use her powers and steve realizing that it just ended up hurting her so he had a talk about boundaries and that it’s something that el can set up and talk about. Which also lol made it a headcannon that Steve used to make blanket forts when he was younger which I can honestly see him doing. Like it’s this cute thing where not only is he creating some sort of ‘normal’ childhood for el he’s also happy to share something of his own childhood that he did.
I can see him just showing off the movies and his music taste to el. Like he would be so happy to show someone the things that he loves while also El having something easy and normal for once. Also I can totally see Steve just taking time to notice what triggers El and create a system that works well for her to deal with it. Not move on but create something that is more positive for her. And yes hopper would totally notice and just be like okay this fucking kid who is also not a kid is now in this family. He is officially one of us and no one can do a damn thing about it. But like also Joyce would totally see too and just smirk a tiny bit at hopper. But then Joyce acts like a parent to Steve too so this makes hopper do his own smirk and give her a look saying ‘ha! You also adopted him!” Ohh I can totally see Steve’s parents and hopper butting heads. Because also from what we’ve seen at least hopper doesn’t care for superficial things nor does he care about politics. So like I can see Steve’s parents making a big deal out of something meanwhile hopper just doesn’t ducking care. Like they’d call in about a minor thing (and we all know how hopper gets annoyed with that) and hopper would roll his eyes. But also like how would Steve’s parents react to hopper being the chief? In cannon he says that he has worked as chief for 4 years I believe so like how would they have reacted? Since we also know that barb’s dad didn’t like hopper at all which I can understand tho. Like he just dropped searching for his daughter. And I know hopper can’t say anything but how much does dealing with the ud and lab actually affect his job? And also does that affect Joyce’s job too!? Okay I asked way too many questions in the last few sentences but lol I was just putting my thought process down.
steve and mike would have such a funny dynamic together. like mike's a little shit and he would for sure act like the middle child he is when around steve. especially because they are so different but still have a likeness to one another. and the whole nancy and steve thing, you're right he probably has no idea what happened other than now nancy's dating jonathan and steve is like dustin's older brother in a weird turn of events, so they can't just kick steve out of their inner circle. and especially after s2 when steve has is fight with billy and then they go into the tunnels together, even though we don't see it, mike has to have some kind of appreciation for him in some way or another.
steve and will bonding would just be so sweet. I feel like will would be the kind of person who like actually listened to steve. not that dustin or anyone else doesn’t, but like will’s used to mike rambling, so when steve does the same will just contently listens. and obviously steve would listen to will, if he opens up about all of his stuff. it would definitely be a much different dynamic than steve and dustin, which would be cool to see steve have.
yeah like his whole redemption was just him getting a little bit of sense knock into him (literally). the whole exchange in the alley was shitty, and I’m not saying it was okay, but like at the end of the day it was just him lashing out. and he imminently regretted everything. and I think the fact that he went, hours later, to apologize to jonathan and not nancy first. if he went to nancy right away it could have been written off as him just scared to lose his girlfriend and not really feeling bad about anything else. but he wanted to make thing right with jonathan first. it’s kind of similar, in some ways, to how lucas lashed out in season 1, right. but I think lucas’s was a bit more justified, perhaps. he doesn’t trust el, and I know fan were like legit upset at him for that? his best friend was missing, he was going through the worst week of his life thus far. you couldn't blame him for not trusting a girl they found in the woods. and like obviously steve had no idea what jonathan and nancy were doing. he just saw them in her bedroom together, and there really wasn’t a lot of places his mind could jump to when he saw that. again, obviously he shouldn’t have done or said what he did after that, but it wasn’t like he didn’t almost immediately know he fucked up and tried to make it right. billy literally never tried to right his wrong in the first place, I guess until the last second but like? also not really. and his wrongs were on a much grander scale than a few insults thrown and then apologized for. the comparison between the two makes absolutely no sense. it’s literally just because they’re both conventionally attractive teenage boys in the show lol. people lump them together for some reason even though it makes zero sense.
ugh yes steve and el just vibing!! steve trying to best to understand her! and them building blanket forts together is so adorable and something I can totally see happening. and I honestly think el would be just as confused by steve as steve would be by her. but that’s their charm. and it definitely exasperates hopper to no end. but he kind of enjoys it to bc I feel like out of the party, nancy, and jonathan, steve and him are the most alike. like all of the boys in the party are very intelligent but so nerdy. jonathan’s got that pretentious side, and he’s probably very protective of his mother so there’s a little disconnect between the two of them. but hopper and steve are just there, not understanding any of the d&d references and to make sure none of the little nerds get themselves killed.
joyce and hopper both accidentally adopting yet another kid is just so funny to me. like it keeps happening. after they notice steve and his relationship with the kids, they keep an eye out for him from that point on. but then robin comes along and they realize she and steve are like a package deal so now they accidentally add her to their weird little family. they just keep collecting outcasts lol
yeah I never thought that much into how all of that affected hopper’s job. like its understandable why the hollands disliked him, even though all of that was way out of his hands. I wonder if other people in town felt the same? or maybe they just contained thinking he was some half-ass police chief who hardly did his job when in reality he was trying to keep hawkins in one piece. I’m interested to see how people in the town reacted to his “death.” and how callahan handles taking over- at least from that one photo it looks like he’s taking charge but idk. like I’m sure he noticed hopper’s strange behavior and some of the weird stuff that happened around hawkins. and that’s all fine for him to brush aside until weird shit starts happening again and he’s at a loss for how the hell hopper managed to keep that place in one piece. and it would be interesting if he is the one who links the strange stuff back to the party. he would know more than the average townie.

horikoshi continues the most worthless plot points and develops the worst characters (the WRONG WAY) instead of going into the actually good concepts he initially introduced and its so aggravating.
it just genuinely feels like he has no clue where he wants to take the series, because he immediately goes to conflict everything he says. he’s not even maximizing the use of his characters or writing a compelling storyline — it’s just all going so downhill and it’s hard to say you like the series when it’s really only a few characters and maybe an arc or two.
i really just don’t understand horikoshi’s obsession with redeeming the most annoying characters especially. or rather i should say the most irredeemable characters. and that’s not me saying i think any of the league need a “redemption” cuz... they’re right so what do they need to be redeemed for lmao?
but it feels like he doesn’t even understand his own characters and i’m not saying that to sound cocky as if i get them more than he does since he’s the original creator but i literally do get them better.
there’s no way that overhaul feels any remorse whatsoever for what he did to eri. i haven’t read the chapters exact, but from what i’m understanding deku interprets their interaction as him seeking forgiveness for what he’s done or whatever.
i think a more valid interpretation would be him reflecting on his own faults that led to the loss of his quirk and his imprisonment. i could definitely see him regretting losing eri because of that, but spinning the story as to him regretting experimenting and basically torturing a six year old is such a half-assed take.
the reason this characterization is inconsistent starts literally from the start. overhaul was the one to bring up the plan with eri, and he even faced pushback from pops on it. if he genuinely saw anything wrong with what he was doing, pops, out of anyone, would have been able to help him recognize that. that was his closest relationship and he says himself that the only reason he’s doing this is out of gratitude for pops adopting him.
but even his adopted father isn’t able to convince him — in fact, he’s so set on this that he puts pops into a coma for trying to stop him. so where’s the logic at all in making him feel remorse for what he did to eri? he even went as far as to take out of his pops to carry out his plan.
there’s no way deku suddenly opened his eyes to feeling bad. the only consistent option here is that horikoshi wants to add to his list of irredeemable characters that he wants to redeem.
i just don’t understand it. overhaul’s a perfect example of a good villain. he was very well written up to this point, and this shift is literally butchering all of that.
and again, it’s just so very inconsistent. for one, deku is supposed to be the most compassionate character in the series, and yet all of it is spent on abusers, who are nothing like him? i hate it sm.
the other thing is that storywise, arcs are meant to progress the story, no? and yet, every step that horikoshi takes is another one backwards.
if the goal is for deku to become the number one hero, how is he supposed to do that in the current state of hero society successfully? i’m not even mad fr about him dropping out of school — i think this plot point could’ve worked GREAT! if only it were started earlier,  — but the fact that horikoshi has made it abundantly clear that he has no interest in actually doing something about the rampant corruption ongoing in hero society screws it all up.
every character that he writes hoping to change things, whether through force or not, is either out of commission or discredited. in the current state of hero society, following this plotline, deku cannot be the number one hero. by the standards horikoshi has set, deku is essentially a villain. and yet, because he’s the protagonist, none of this will even be addressed. instead, horikoshi will simply conflict it later, uncaring that one of his main plot points has been utterly destroyed just by his indecisiveness regarding whose side he’s on.
and this is what i mean by saying that horikoshi has no clue what he’s doing. of course you can argue that he’s put way too much on his plate (this is true! he has introduced too many plots to know what to do with them all), but he’s gone beyond just neglecting a select few. he’s butchering his own story, and at this point, all of his characters are just throwaways.

TALE OF TWO POES
These are just my headcanons for my 87/Comic Poe and my 2017 Poe. I’m trying to write this before the new ep comes because I wanna see how close my headcanons are to the real one. Ahhhhh.
So for my 87/Comic universe starts out with these basic things.
-Him and Magica are twins.
-Actually a pretty nice and chill guy
-Can’t actually use magic but really, really wants to. He has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to magical items and spells, he just can’t use or summon any magic himself. He learns how to work around this problem, though. Very cleverly. He even fooled Eldritch Academy for years. Ha.
-Has been a raven for 10+ years which has affected his social skills a tad.
-Would do anything for his sister. ;-; Weh.
-Really not villainy like Magica has a redemption arch and he helps her with that (and sometimes his help wasn’t that helpful by accident,) but he himself is just chilling?

Really not as villainous as Magica; has a redemption arch, and helps her become a better person. Sometimes his advice/help doesn’t do much, but it’s the thought that counts.
-For being chill, he sure likes poking his nose in things and being a little troublemaker. Magica can tell Poe, “Hey, make sure Gladstone doesn’t do this thing,” and then when Gladstone does that very thing, Poe is half heartedly just “No. Don’t. Stop.” like that Willy Wonka meme.
-Poe has a lot of “kid at heart” energy, while Magica is the more serious, adultier-adult one.
- I hint that he is trans. Comments like about him and his sister’s different personalities like “Hard to believe we’re from the same egg.” and “That old dress of mine looks better on you.” But not out right saying it.  Wouldn’t it be just his luck when he was turned into a crow he was turned into a male crow and when he was changed back he just happened to be changed back male and was like, “This is all going according to plan.”  Though out of all the villains I can see Merlock being a misgendering prick. Calling Poe She-lock and He-Witch. What an asshole.
-Gladstone and Poe had become good friends even before Poe is reverted back to his original duck form.
-Poe is Minima’s dad, but there is some drama regarding the entire thing I hope to cover in a story I’m writing. (I’m really close to finishing that one.)
-I accidentally shipped him with Fethry in this universe lol. I’ve written bits and pieces of several Magicstone stories where Fethry and Poe form a friendship on the side that turns into a romantic relationship. In my future stories one of the main problems with Gladstone x Magica is their lack of communication. They don’t let the other know what they’re going through to ‘protect’ their partner. Meanwhile, I have Poe x Fethry at the same time as them having great communication and just the comparison of that against Magicstone like, look how many less problems Magica and Gladstone would have if they JUST TALKED.
-Poe and Fethry are also both oversharers so like, this is gonna be great.
-I’m really really biased with my 87/Comic Poe and Magica headcanons in that they can totally get redeemed. In my headcanon they were raised by their older half-sister till she was killed by hunters when Poe and Magica were thirteen. From that point on they raised themselves. Poe was very supportive of whatever Magica felt she had to do. Yeah the dark magic thing got a little shady but it's fine, its fineeeee.
-I know Poe wasn’t in the comics but I just hmm pretend he’s there with Ratface. In the cartoon Magica mentioned once she needed Scrooge’s number one dime for the spell to turn Poe back. So that is true along with having to do the Midas spell for the Grand Coven she answers to in the comics.
-He makes friends with Grandma Duck super fast like omg his weak ass noodle arms will figure out how to get some farm chores down for her. GUS YOU NEED TO DO MORE WORK AROUND HERE WHAT THE HELL GUS.
- I never outright say how Poe got changed into a crow but it's something Magica feels is her fault. I’ve debated it being actually the Grand Coven Magica answers to that did it, because he offered to take a punishment for her. Something done in some way Magica feels it's her fault. ;-;
- Since this Poe can’t cast magic he does use magical items to protect himself. His hat does have a magical property I’m not gonna say cuz I needa finish that store. IT'S GONNA BE GREAT.
---------
Now 2017 Poe I headcanon much differently. First big change is he has magic and he’s an asshat. I really think if 87 Poe had magic he would have been more of a jerk too, but not to the extreme 2017 Poe is. I based 2017 Poe being more villainous like how Magica is more villainous. I love 2017 Magica, she is still a fun baddie, but I don’t have the same hmmm- soft spot for her as I do for comic Magica.
Also, in my headcanon he has a flare for the dramatic. I realized he’d seem a bit like Black Arts Beagle. I then decided Poe was the one that trained BAB because why not. Same performative flare. Whee.
I originally headcanon him to be more chaotic Deadpool personality type but seeing Martin Freeman is gonna voice him I bet that's not gonna happen. SOB. God he’s so pretty though. That midriff showing.
-Just trash man
-Love me that goth trash man
-I would really want him not to be a jerk to Lena. That would cause a divide between him and Magica. He would see her technically as family even though created by magic, and not treat her like crap. And be mad Magica treated her crap.
-Minima was his daughter who died a long time ago. He sees a lot of Lena in her, but realizes Lena is not her. I mean he knows that from the start but would still be sad if they’re in an argument and he calls her Minima on accident. “I won’t always be there to protect you Minima! I- I mean Lena..” SOB.
-I really didn’t see the same reasons to ship him with Fethry this time around too, but when I saw Steekbeak x Fethry stuff it got me thinking of what Poe went  in disguised as a normal dude to do some McDuck spying and met Fethry and they fell for eachother but then OOPS POE is a VILLIAN. OOPS. Just like the Matilda thing with Magica x Gladstone in the comics. TeeHee.
-No redemption arch just nice to a handful of people ha. Might MIGHT help good guys if the world was gonna be destroyed but oh boy would he have to be talked into it. (Lena could talk him into it.)

You know what since we’re still in quarantine and i have nothing else better to do, i need to obsess over ACOTAR. I don't like a court of frost and starlight. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why I didn't like it. I aggressively read the book in maybe a day and I closed it feeling frustrated and annoyed. My version had A Court of Silver Flames preview so that definitely contributed to my annoyance greatly.
It's because it felt too perfect. Everything that had happened -- after the entire war was fought and won, they just go back to their normal lives? Yes there were hiccups and yes there were still aspects that made every IC character feel like their problems aren’t solved yet...but it didnt feel right. yes i enjoyed the snowball fight between the bat boys, feyre + rhys sexy time, and those little comfort moments too, the slice of life type things and seeing feyre accomplishing her goals and how hopeful the future seems BUT its too fast. the good parts of the book did not offset the bad parts of it.
Feyre literally accomplished pretty much every single goal she made back in ACOMAF just like that?? within a span of what a few months? a year?? She really came back from an entire war -- probably the first war of many since she's immortal and just like that, after her 21st birthday: she gets a whole entire estate, wants to start poppin babies, opens her art studio and starts teaching kids and then acting like she can rule an entire court?? the timeline is sooo short esp since its been brought up over and over again how everyone is literally 500 years old and have a super “messy” history and their changes seems to come super dupe slowly. but feyre, who has only lived 0.000000002% of her fae life, is out here thriving just fine???
the war devastated thousands of illyrian soldiers where its changing the politics of the illyrains and the faes, all of whom feyre has responsibilities over too as high lady. the mortal queens are still at large who left the humans on prythian to die which is why feyre was willing to go to war in the first place! what about the rest of hybern and their land and residents?? they wanted to enslave humans for social and economical reasons! then what about integrating humans w deep hatred and fear with deeply prejudice fae??? there’s also spring and summer court who are literally in ruins. thats literally so much. so idk how feyre is just chillin???? she gonna let rhys do all the hard work???
like feyre sit down. u should not be having a baby. esp since it took u literally a 700 pages to heal from those 3 months UTM. ur telling me shes gonna whole heartedly bring in a newborn in a war devastated world, with civil unrest (illyrains, other courts), with the messiness of human and fae integration, with trauma u and rhys will have to continue to overcome esp after THIS war??? even helping ur sisters w their traumas??
Tumblr media
this is a personal opinion on this subject (and maybe my thoughts will change on this later on; opened to other thoughts) but when i read the part about how that weaver/seamstress artist who made that dark quilt that feyre loved talked about how her mate of 300 years didn’t come back from the war and her biggest regret was that she didnt have a kid to remember him by i just thought ur kid isn’t some sort of memorabilia. don’t have a kid to keep the memory of ur mate alive; have a kid cuz u want a kid purely for the sake of having a kid. ur memories and photos and shit will keep their memory alive but its not having a kid. some primitive need to keep the genes alive maybe?? but the way it was phrased and then in turn how feyre was like oh i need  a baby pronto cuz rhys might die in the next war and regret not having a kid with him didn’t sit right with me. also the other couple were together for +300 years and have a rich life together, while shes been with rhys for literally two years THATS NOTHING IN FAE YEARS. thats still the honeymoon phase and also ur problems arent even close to being over!!!
everyone was shitty to nesta. in ACOMAF, we saw how much the IC went through and still did all they could to help feyre. what made them not think nesta deserve the same welcome? nesta is mean as a defense but did no one try to figure out what would help (amren got close but shes so under developed)??? feyre knows nesta feels too much and yet she continued to be shitty. continued to flaunt her wealth, her status, her familiarity/borderline know-it-all attitude about fae/night court, her ~estate~. forcing nest to the solstice party when nesta was literally like i dont belong, im looking at everyone through a window type of thing; the fire cracking triggering her, etc. what kind of power play was that when she made nesta come to her estate, where nesta could SEE how ~homey~ and how suscessful feyre is and fully see all the lovely paintings of everyone feyre loves that explicitly exclude her to tell her to fuck off to a war camp?? bro???? cas was a dick too and elaine was rude. i think a lot of his actions were meant to make her angry since anger keeps u fighting (as was the method of rhys for feyre in ACOMAF) but what he said was stupidly shitty and i demand that he apologize properly. elaine could have done more to help her sister but whatever. mor was definitely an ass too (and im upset for how little her character growth is).
Tumblr media
Lucein. that man can’t catch a break tbh. im happy that hes w the band of exiles cuz he is whole heartedly accepted there. feyre was definitely an asshole to him even tho he helped as much as he could throughout the books. he tries so hard w elaine as well and it did hit my heart a bit when she was like gloves to work in my garden?? no ?? i use my bare hands see oNly aZiReL sEeS mE fOr WhO i Am. and at the same feyre is like flaunting her mate status to lucein which is mean as shit. its like this man can’t find love in prythain. then tamlin sending him his box of his things??? thats for sure brutral. tam was literally his partner through it all; savior of sorts even. no love from IC, no love from elaine, no love from feyre, no love from tamlin, no love from autumn court rejected everywhere! also HIS TRUE FATHER?? HEllo???
then on tamlin. i pity the guy! was i suppose to feel that way??? it felt like he is allowed to get a redemption arc and maybe i’ll even root for a redemption arc??? i was absolutely excited for freysand in ACOMAF but after ACOFAS, im like tamlin is....not completely bad??? his relationship w feyre was bad and the controlling parts were very much a no-no. i dont truly understand the dynamics of an abusive relationship but i can understand that it can be insidious and its the little things that hurt the victim. and i felt  feyre through ACOMAF and rooted for her to escape her abuser! but then it felt like i dont think he was doing any of those things out of malice. ill say tamlin is a bad leader and doesn’t know how to run a court outside of what he sees his father do. his understanding on everything is based on the traditions of the past which i think fueled most of the things he did i.e. not telling feyre she was in danger since maybe his mom didn’t do those war planning things. ACOTAR showed how he truly cared/loved and took good care of feyre and her family. he even talked about how he didn’t believe in the enslavement of humans! i think that tam wanted to preserve what he thought was the good (aka feyre + her love of painting) and get back a sense of control that he and his entire court lost while chained to amarantha. but at the same time, i think he truly thought feyre wasn’t safe. he knows rhys can crush minds and knows feyre can’t read/write so when he got that letter telling him shes safe of course hes gonna flip shit and made a deal w the devil (although those temper outbursts were DEFINITIVELY not ok!!!). he also didn’t listen and has sense of he knows best when feyre was not the type of person. but feyre destroyed his entire court. he lost all his sentries who literally went out to die for him during amarantha’s reign. he lost lucien too; his trusted right hand man. his people were cursed for 50 years and then continued to suffer UTM and was in the process of rebuilding too!  but just seeing spring court, WHO BORDERS THE HUMANS, be in ruins where his subjects left him, his people left him and hes all alone in the manson?? that was sooo sad. so im like why does what feyre did not feel satisfactory????? im mad that it didn’t feel right??? maybe there wasn’t a point where feyre talked to tamlin -- like really talked to him esp w her new found voice and power, etc. anyways, i dont hate tamlin and was like oh shit i think feyre fucked up a bit there.
rhys is a dick to nesta. which made me think, if feyre wasn’t his mate would he extend the same love and care to her???  i loved how he tried so hard to make sure feyre was ok. made sure she wasn’t breaking! all of it! but for nesta, he had the audacity to use his high lord voice and be an ass overall. even tho he can see how cas is fucken in love??? even just how he talks to cass feels off too.
i’ll even go as far as to say because of how terrible ACOFAS was, it created this intense divide within the fandom. i remember reading the first three books and was absolutely 1) rooting for freysand  2) curious about the sister relationship and how it will be mended 3) i definitely didn’t hate nesta nor did i hate elaine either -- but i was adament about them talking it out with feyre for those tough times 4) saw a more realistic and charming healing arc 5) was rooting for feyre to be a stronger voice and grow into herself 6) love the dynamic of the inner circle + feyre
but after ACOFAS, I have this intense need to defend nesta and was super mad at how she was treated after the war and in turn a deep dislike for elaine for both her lack of agency, lack of grit that made all the other characters interesting, and lack of care for her sisters (who showed how much they would risk for her). i dont hate rhys but i was extremely not happy with him and his attitude and behavior. feyre became more arrogant and was acting like how asshole rhysand would act. like her life is perfect now and i was not rooting for her anymore. freysand didn’t feel like they have complimenting qualities that made them interesting in the first place but rather they are merging to become the same person but in a bad way. that mind reading thing was cute in the beginning but it became insufferable since all thoughts were shared so seamlessly it made reading feel weird.
anyways those are my thoughts on ACOFAS. it was a 1/5 stars for me and im mad those events transpired. reading the other books made me excited to know what was gonna happen and i was truly ready to accept the characters as flawed and nuanced as they are. im not mad about character not liking each other but i am mad that everything felt off. ACOFAS just felt regressive in some parts and forced in other parts. i know not everything ends in a nice tied up bow but this book single handily ruined what i thought about these characters in the worse way possible. this book wasn’t suppose to wrap up all the problems that exists in the other books but it didn’t feel hopeful like i thought it would. it didn’t feel wrapped up and didn’t feel like i should be excited about the next books. theres so many missing pieces i feel that i think need explaining and at the same time, i think it introduced too many problems at once which made it feel like its jumping around everywhere. although im still excited for ACOSF because i love nesta, and nesta deserves so much better and i want to have hope that this bad ending will either make sense later on or it was just a blimp.

Just some rambling about Sherlock cuz I re-watched it all recently. The last time I watched was when season 4 aired, so almost five years ago.
When it comes to any piece of writing, I generally care more about characters/relationships than about the plot. That being said, I still enjoyed the first three seasons very much. One thing from season 2 that I think is a shame is the death of Moriarty. Everything surrounding the death was great but the act itself... it made no sense to me then and it still doesn't. He was such a great villain, I think it should have required more to take him down. Another thing that still doesn't make sense to me is Sherlock's fake-death. He seemingly only did it for John's sake since even the damn sniper saw that Sherlock landed safely. But John didn't need to believe it to make the rest of the world believe it, too. Or at least not for long. And yet the entire thing was orchestrated to fool only one person; John. Granted, John gave Sherlock a hard time because of that whole ordeal which is why I never felt the need to be too critical of it tbh. This is what I mean when I say I care more about characters; if a weak plot point leads to great character-/relationship-building moments, then I can forgive it.
When it comes to season 3, there are some great pay-offs which I think make the weaker aspects of it worth it. Like that scene when Sherlock "revives himself" at the thought of John... no matter how many times I watch it, it always gives me goosebumps. I think that Magnussen should have been around longer. He was such a fascinating villain/businessman. My biggest problem with that season, though, is the character of Mary. The writers try so damn hard to make us like her in the first two episodes — it ruins the immersion imo. Every time writers try too hard with something to the point it becomes obvious, it has the opposite effect on me. Which in this case meant I didn't like Mary because of how they forced us to like her. I take it that we were supposed to like her so that we would be more shocked at the reveal in the 3rd episode. Didn't work for me, though. It just made me dislike her more. Don't even get me started on that whole scene when Sherlock and Mary tried to convince John that it's somehow his fault he married a woman who hid her real identity from him. She lied to him but they twisted it to make him believe he is responsible, dafuq. Sherlock should be smarter than this. I remember hoping John would just leave her after that but that didn't happen, unfortunately.
And then there is season 4... well, there is a reason why I never re-watched that season until now. Even as someone who doesn't care too much about plot, the decline in the writing quality is painfully obvious here. It's no longer a detective / crime drama. That season focused a lot more on action and “family drama”, rather than crime solving. When it comes to the characters... they didn't have great moments or earned developments in this season either. I would even say that John's character regressed in a way. The scene in episode 2 when Sherlock consoles John is nice... but everything leading up to that scene feels contrived. The last episode is easily the worst cuz it’s almost entirely nonsensical and pointless. It expects us viewers to believe that Eurus is some ultra mega evil genius who makes Sherlock, Mycroft and John go through some murderous “trials” that are then all resolved with a hug... and afterwards, she simply gets forgiven for her actions without any sort of apology or redemption and everyone lives happily ever after. This episode broke the immersion worse than any other. It made us see the puppet master instead of just the puppets. It’s a pity imo. I would like to think that they could still fix it somehow but I don’t know if a 5th season is something fans would even want after how they ended season 4. I do miss johnlock, though, so if there was another season, I’d probably still watch it and hope for the best. If they went back to how it started, i.e. turned it into a modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes again, it could work~

My Thoughts on KIPO
Tumblr media
This post serves two purposes: first to give my thoughts on the third and final season of KIPO, and second to also address the show as a whole. Be advised, because this is the final season and the story is now over, I will be getting into MASSIVE spoiler territory. THIS IS YOUR FINAL SPOILER WARNING.
Tumblr media
The Good
I am so happy they kept Dr. Emilia unredeemable, and in a good way. With shows like Naruto or Steven Universe where the MC has a weird knack for befriending the worst monsters in the universe, Kipo helps subvert this by doing with Dr. Emilia what SU should have done with White Diamond. They made her an antagonist the talk no jutsu MC couldn’t just reason with, showing that even non-violence can only take you so far. I like that Kipo still tried to give Dr. Emilia a chance, and her ultimate fate is largely her own fault, not something done to her by Kipo.
I liked how for the most part, no two antagonists were won over the same way. Zayne was won over by a legitimate friendship with Label. Haugh was won over by seeing his daughter dance with the Korean pop band narwhals, Daugh was won over by meeting the Korean Narwhal leadsinger and seeing all of the prisoners in Dr. Emilia’s lab. Even Greta was won over by Wolf just asking her “what do YOU want?” and letting her do it. And the rest were won over through PRAHM.
The solution to curing Kipo’s mother was a stroke of brilliance. I didn’t see it coming until seconds before they did it, and I loved it. Getting to see Kipo and her mom hug was just so wholesome it melted my frozen tiny little black heart.
Speaking of Song and Leo, they remained relevant! Look at that. A young character hero’s journey story where her parents remain important supporting cast characters through the whole thing.
Between seasons 2 and 3, they confirmed that Asher was non-binary, and I liked that we saw that in their hairstyle change for this season. I appreciate that the cut didn’t seem overly masculine or feminine.
Dave... actually earned my respect. Kinda. At least, it explained why he’s such a self-centered asshole in season 1. He’s used to being the leader. So that gave me some new respect for him.
I LOVE that Hugo was forced to see the ruins of Aurum and the self-reflection he shares with Wolf is just icing. Speaking of Hugo, his redemption is handled really nicely. The trial and error, the old habits that are hard for him to break, Kipo easily keeping him in line, and his slow work toward being a better mandrill. He felt like he was growing a lot.
When Wolf is deciding what to do about Margot, Kipo aggressively supports her, waiting for Wolf to ask her for help, and then decreeing that only Wolf has a right to decide how she wants to handle this situation. You go Kipo. Getcha woke on. Speaking of Margot.
Tumblr media
The Bad
Margot might as well have not shown up. We learn nothing new about her, nothing new about Wolf, and then she just gets cured by Emilia so there’s never really a resolution to this character tension. I get the reason why, I just praised it in the above section, but this was still poorly handled in my opinion. Their just isn’t enough story payoff to bother dragging this out of the backstory.
Dave created Skyscraper Ridge.... for a battery-powered hand-held fan? Which survived for 200 years of battles between humans and mutes. Over a hand-held fan? Dave and Benson met... by fighting over a hand-held fan? I’m sorry but what the fuck? If you wanted me to take this seriously, you should have made it about something important. Now, I will give this some credit: Maybe Dave has dementia and is misremembering the item he’s talking about. Cuz Benson doesn’t know what he’s talking about at first. So maybe he’s using a toy fan in the place of the actual thing they were fighting over.
Speaking of Benson... You don’t make a backstory episode that raises more questions! Why is Benson the last of his kind? What happened to his parents? Did Dave kill them? Cuz if he did, that’s seriously fucked up that Benson’s best friend killed his parents.
Song just kinda stopped being important once she was human huh? She spoke dubstep to the bees and got the death ivy wall put up, and then said she was going to work on a vaccine to the Cure... and then never finished it. Five years later, and Yumyan and all the others are still Cured. I get why this is, it’s so that there’s lasting consequences, which YES. Good on Kipo for not wimping out and pulling its punches, gimme them lasting consequences baby! I feed off it. But again, this leaves Song kind of … irrelevant.
So Kipo turns into a Mega Jaguar and she runs on all-fours (well... sixes), Song has the anatomy of a Mega Monkey... but Dr. Emilia’s Walrus form... has arms and legs? Sorry, that just kind of breaks the immersion for me. Two megas follow a consistent world building mechanic: you adopt the features of your mega animal... and Dr. Emilia just... doesn’t. No sir, I don’t like that.
Kaiju battles are kind of lame. There I said it. Come get me, Internet. I’m not apologizing. I don’t care much for great big things beating up other great big things. Now with a show and world like that of Kipo, I fully expected there’d be a Kaiju battle at some point, and with Kipo being a mega jaguar, I get why they went this route, but even so, Kaiju battles just aren’t my cup of tea.
Why did Hugo have to die? It kind of smelled of Redemption Equals Death, a wholly loathsome trope. He went through the best arc of all the characters, so let’s axe him off in the end. Sure, we lost other characters we cared about. Yumyan, Collette, Brad, but this was deliberately a noble sacrifice, and one he didn’t really have to make. He could have just jumped out of the car before it ran into Dr. Emilia. I don’t approve of killing off Hugo. That was not the right way to end his story.
Who is Wolf wearing? It’s never explained to us who this wolf was to her. It’s just a wolf. But this wolf was a person. And now she’s wearing its skin.
Tumblr media
The Meh
So Jamack is here. That’s pretty much it. He finished his character arc when he joined Puck’s minstrel show and now he’s all smiles and buddy buddy and there’s not much else to say about him. I’m glad he was part of the final battle against Dr. Emilia, but by season 3, Jamack is just another ally. There’s no more of that redemption arc, which makes it feel slightly flat. For what we got, his redemption arc was alright, but the vast majority of it happens off screen, so unlike Hugo, it just doesn’t have that satisfying crunch.
So, ever since Mullholland, I’ve been under the impression that Wolf likes Kipo. Then with Kipo at the PRAHM very verbally saying she wishes Wolf was there, I thought maybe they were a ship? In the end, they verbalize having a sister-like relationship, which I totally get. I’m fine with it. That’s why it’s in the Meh section, not the bad stuff. But if they wanted to hammer home the sisters angle, having a character at a dance wishing the other was there doesn’t exactly send sibling energy.
I kind of wish we got to see how the first burrows got formed following the appearance of mutes. That would have been a nice thing to learn.
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
This show is probably in my top 10 cartoons of all time. It’s funny, colorful, the music is amazing, the characters are great, the villains steal the show, and it’s a good story. Is racism solved a little easily? Maybe, but A. it’s a kid’s show, and B. it’s kind of the whole point of the show. Unlike say Star Vs where it was a show about a princess who doesn’t want to be queen ohandalsomonsteracismiguess, this show’s core focus was on prejudice and racism. That was the forefront topic of the show. So, I’d say it sends an important lesson. I’d even go so far as to say it may be this generation’s Avatar. Is it as good as Avatar: the Last Airbender? Mmm no. But it’s damn good. Even with it’s flaws. I’d probably rate it about an 8.5 out of 10. So about a B+. Which is still really good. Does it have a few problems? Yes. Most shows do. It’s not perfect. But at the end of the day, it’s still a good show, and it has a LOT of rewatch potential, which is good for any show.

It's 2021 & tbh I'm happy to see you still serving the truth. So many ppl hate Sakura it's rlly sad. I see hate for her from NH & SNS mostly about her "forcing" her feelings on others like she herself didnt realize that & was stuck trying the alleviate that be growing stronger as her main plot point. Her loss of development is 99% SP NH agenda. & honestly I still wish Sasuke got w/ NO ONE, not even Naruto. He wasnt good to anyone, even if he respected them. [1]
& in general I hate the idea that Sasuke HAD to end up w/ someone romantically to try find happiness & that person should have been Naruto/Sakura/etc. bc he COULD had a happy, content, redemption arc w/o a romantic partner. Not everything great in this world is driven by romantic companionship & Sasuke is honestly not cut out for it. I wish he had platonic healing & mending arcs, not this focus on finding the "right one" to bed with.
I will go down in my grave wishing Sasuke could be aromantic/asexual representation in a positive redemption arc of him making amends & fixing bonds w/o needing the "oh so powerful & miraculous" powers of romantic fixation.
__________________________________________________________
Well my parents taught me that a lie has short legs and it won’t last for long. And all you do is deceive yourself with lying so I took that lesson to the very heart through my upbringing and tried to stay as real as I can be.
I’m the type of person who prefers a hard truth over a sweet lie any day. I have ruined relationships with people because of this way of being. Because I met people in my life that preferred to be sweet talked than told the cold truth.
I am not like that, so yeah.
Now, as for the Sakura hate... well, idk but I’ve also noticed a change in fandom support. Yes, she is still hated but the support for her grew over the years. I’m telling you, it’s one of the things I noticed from the very beginning as I came back to the fandom.
But as I said in a thread on Twitter of mine, while I loved seeing that support, there are two factors that sadden me.
1. The love is directed at Sakura Uchiha, not Sakura Haruno and
 2. The fandom as a whole has become a lot similar to the other side of the fandom that used to bully us Sakura fans back in the day.
Of course, I am talking general aspects, I am sure that there are some particularities here and there. But sadly that's the truth. Which made me think about the following things. Are people really liking Sakura Haruno or Sakura Uchiha?
Because it makes me wonder... where was this love back when Sakura was getting her heroine status ripped? Where was it? Are you loving Sakura now just because she's married into the Uchiha clan? Because if so, that's just sad. And shallow. Like ppl used to call her.
And I know it might ruffle some jimmies, but it's the truth. It's an honest and pure observation, after being gone from the fandom for so long. Don't get me wrong, I love that she's loved and supported now, but I can't help but feel that she is because of the wrong reasons.
As for Sasuke, the problem is that the show rewards him with something that Naruto worked for.
We’re never really shown how he is sorry about all the misery he put everyone through.
People say that  ohhh, he was a victim. But wait. So was Naruto. He didn’t turn into that?
Not saying that what he did didn’t have an impact on him, but at the end of the day it boils down to CHOICE. Which Sasuke’s plot even is about. He CHOSE to go to Orochimaru. He CHOSE to kill Itachi. He CHOSE to destroy Konoha. HE CHOSE TO WANT TO KILL THE GOKAGE at the end!
And problem is that the plot doesn’t hold him accountable for that. And I will never shut up about how in other media authors don’t excuse the antagonist for his actions.
See FMA’s Scar. It’s the EXACT same thing. He had his clan murdered. Same thing. Genocide.
But do you see FMA’s plot excusing him for his actions like Naruto does? No, it doesn’t.
And I think that’s the core problem.
Like I always said: I have a love-hate relationship with Sasuke. I love the fact that he challenges the status quo, but I hate how he goes about it and how the story gives him a free pass.
Because it all feels hollow. Not to mention is a dangerous morale to leave behind. Especially to the newer generation of young adults who are shaping their character.
It’s sends a message that if you suffered, you get a free pass to do whatever shit you want cuz at the end of the day you get a free pass without having to work hard to get your atonement.
That’s why I love the fight in Jujutsu Kaisen between Panda and Mechamaru. Mechamaru tries to victimize himself and find excuses for his actions, but Panda tells it like it is.
Just because you have suffered, it doesn’t give you the right to be an ass, basically.
As for Sakura and her development, yeah. Everyone acts like an ostrich and hide their heads in the ground pretending that it wasn’t because of SP’s favoritism and mischaracterization that Sakura wasn’t hated.
Well it was that exact same thing that made people hate her. Like I know at some point back in the day, SP had to excuse themselves that noo, they don’t hate Sakura.
Yeah right... Cuz that’s why they made an omake where she was jealous of Hinata and how Hinata was stealing the heroine status from her.
They were slowly inoculating this idea into the fandom’s perception.
And I remember how I used to tell people about it back in the day. SSers as well.
Guys Sakura is gonna be sidelined because of this. She isn’t gonna be the heroine anymore. But did someone listen? Noo, they didn’t.
Because all they saw was the fact that I was a NaruSaku fan and to hell with me. Out of the fear of NaruSaku might potentially win, they preferred to just shut up.
And then guess what? TL came and they called Hinata the heroine of Naruto’s story.
And I was like lol, I goddamn told you so. But for you it was more important for NaruSaku to lose than Sakura keeping her status, right?
As for who Sasuke should’ve ended-up with? Well that is hard to tell. Ofc, personally due to my preference for symbolism and seeing the power balance, it would’ve been nice to see him paired-up with Karin.
Cuz I feel Karin had what it took to shake him up, cuz she didn’t take his BS. But that’s just me and I would’ve totally been okay with an arc like you proposed.
However, yeah, I don’t see him with Sakura at all , I’m sorry. As much as I would’ve liked to.
Hell, I should’ve been happy as a former SS. Yet I wasn’t.
But I guess this boils down to each person’s principles. And I know where mine lie. :)

Oh my god shes at it again, ramblin again
The other post mentioned about how toga feels like lov is the only place where she can be herself n that kinda tickled the switch for me cuz thats what a lot of people mention when they talk about how hawks should have joined lov. 'They would have accepted him as his real self.' The problem there of course being that hawkd real self, his very core is someone who wants to help people while lov accepts only those who work for their core goal aks destroying everything and building a better world specifically for themselves. So no, lov wouldnt accept Hawks for who he truely is and I dont really think they ever make a deal about accepting people for who they are at all.
We saw that before joining lov toga had a relativly normal life, she fit in at school, she was liked. The problem was that all of that was a result of her being forced to supress her urges instead of being taught a safe and healthy way to deal with them. Society really failed toga and its so sad to see because she does have an ability to be happy in regular life if only the people around her accepted her urges as something that needs a safe outlet and not something that needs to be supressed. Supression is such a clumsy coping mechanisam because eventually it will all boil to surface.
Im not sure where i was going with this but toga is still young. Shes a teen girl surrounded by grown men showing her where her path in life would lead. You are a monster we are monsters you will end up like us. Its really hard to look at yourself and compere yourself to other people and see that those most like you turn into monsters and to not be a monster it seems to be a requierment to completly supress a part of yourself. Toga very much might not see any other path for her and being with the league is just drilling that in. Its them vs us, we can never be ourselves in this word, we are miserable and you are like us so you'll grow up misreable to, better start crackin at it now.
I just, hm. Toga seems the most likely pick for redemption rn i fuckin teared up reading that post. She can still turn back, she can make her amends and bounce back and be a good person again. Uraraka, Tsu n Deku dont have to help her but i bet they would if they saw her doing her best to do better and to apologize for her crimes. They are kind people.
Also this is unlikely but i want her to meet shinsou. I feel like her having a friend with a 'villanous' quirk who is trying to be a hero and getting support for it would help her a lot to like, make her feel like she can do it, give her someone to compare herself to who is doing good so she has a reason to belive she can be good n happy too. I just think it would help a lot, cuz while ura tsu n deku are good kids n would help her if she made the first step they do all have pretty 'heroic' quirks so it might be hard for toga to relate to them on that level, like oh but they are p much genticaly predisposed to be heroes their quirks are 'good' and mine is 'bad' so i am bad. Idk we didnt see any hint that would support this happening but i do want it.
Toga is a normal girl, if you think about it. She’s capable of making friends and living the life of a typical teenager her own age, she desires friends and bonds and thinks highly of the bonds she has (as we saw with Twice and through the concern she’s expressed for other members of the league). However she just never learned how to handle her urges and now she has to choose living as herself, or hiding who she is forever (and she found it much easier to be herself even if she lost what she had beforehand).
The League was an illusion of what she thought she wanted, in the sense that they accepted her for how she is and didn’t ask her to hide herself. In fact, we even see her embrace that during her fight in the MLA arc and how she says clearly she wants to live as herself. However this current arc has shown us that Toga is finally facing the reality that living in such a way will end up having consequences and (at least from what I gather) she appears to be scared of that because she views her lust for blood as something she can’t control.
She was so scared that instead of seaking reassurance from the people she’s closest too, she saught out Uraraka instead. She knew the league would just tell her what she wanted to hear so she needed to hear it an answer from someone who she respects and who won’t lie to her. And she didn’t like the answer she recieved because it confirmed her fears, she’s going to be punished for who she is.
She’s between a rock and a hard place and she’s either going to double down and reject society and thus any potential help in the future (becoming just like Twice in that sense), or she could potentially get a redemption.
It would be cool for her to be able to be redeemed because it would be a tragic call back to Twice and his situation. When Twice was her age, he got a criminal record and continued to spiral. Having Toga, a person Twice really cared about, actually recieve the help he didn’t would be nice to see (and also show us that society does learn from it’s mistakes).
However it does depend on whether Toga even wants the heroes help after what they did (even if it was justified). She says herself on her rampage that she was tired and her reaction to the Uraraka’s answer was interesting (she didn’t get angry like I initially expected her too, she got upset instead). It would be nice for someone to reach out and tell Toga she’s not a monster just because she has urges, she just can’t hurt others to satisfy them.
Meeting people in a similar boat to her would be very interesting to see. Connecting with people with “villainous” quirks such as herself and seeing how they’ve turned those quirks into something heroic instead... Hmmm, even if it doesn’t happen in canon, it would be something I’d like to see people explore in fanon T-T

The whole post basically takes a character who is not in the slightest a bad guy, not a villain, and goes on to explain how instead of just being a nice character, that he displays toxic behaviors. You don’t have to explain why you dislike Sidon you can dislike whoever you want, but when it comes to sharing a post that takes a character that is not made to be a villain and putting him in a toxic light, it’s hard for people who have experience trauma to sit and read that without some warning.

I'll be honest when I saw u sent me multiple asks I was ready to put my fists up but. NAH
I understand what you mean now. I get why it would hurt you.
My thing is, I have trauma too (who doesn't in this day and age tbh lol) and I can't see myself feeling the way you do. Closest thing is that I'm mentally scowling at anyone who thinks Endeavor is worth redemption or even thinks he's hot.
And, with these sort of things, if I don't get it or I have no reason to twist myself to sympathize....cuz, granted, no matter what words we say to each other through asks, at the end of the day you'll pretty much be a faceless entity to me.....then I'll label it as ridiculous. And maybe that's a vice I have to get over.
I think just after getting multiple asks in the last 2 or 3 years angrily throwing the words toxic at me and calling me full of myself, I've gotten almost desensitized to it and decided that I don't have to do the mental workout to understand them when they are faceless strangers that are being...mean to me LOL. But if things are explained to me this way, I'll understand the best I can. Cuz I do want to understand and sympathize/empathize with people. Cuz, hey! I do want to care! But sometimes ppl make it hard JFJSKDKS and then make it harder for the next people who need that kindness and grace
So thank you for explaining it to me. And I'm sorry i hurt you. I'll start tagging things to make it up to you

The Skywalker Legacy documentary confirms what I was already fairly certain was true.
I don't need to go in-depth for you Bendemption fans. I know you picked up on all the little things after the death of Kylo Ren.
But I just want to go over this a bit because, while I maintain that Kylo Ren didn't deserve redemption, if it HAD to be done, this was absolutely the best (only) way it could have happened, and I really respect Adam's performance and all JJ's attention to detail.
The metaphorical (and literal?) death of Kylo Ren and rebirth of Ben Solo don't need to be explained. But the inclusion of which gives us such a tangible, real, tactile setup for his redemption. It doesn't happen here. This is just the catalyst that lets it happen.
Harrison Ford's uncredited cameo is so beautiful. It makes this scene possible. I think it's meant to be intentionally vague, but I personally feel that Leia sent him through the Force. Memory, Force Ghost, regular ghost, guilt vision, whatever - Leia made sure her son saw it.
And from then on, with the rebirth of Ben, we get to see the man he could have been. Brave. Strong. Feeling. I don't know how they do it, but his entire affect AND appearance change. The way KR holds himself, how his hair falls is entirely different from those of BS. And it's impressive acting and makeup/wardrobe. Ben's hair is... dare I say it? Fluffy. Where we all mocked Kylo for his nasty greasy Snape hair. Something about Adam's face, even when he's fighting, feels more natural, more relaxed.
You know what? In 15 minutes of screen time for BS, I actually like him. Meaning, if he had been a character in movies instead of KR, I would have liked him and rooted for him along with the other heroes. He even looks more youthful. Instead of the 40 year old appearance in TLJ, Ben looks like he's 25 (a little closer to the character's actual age, I think). And I think that's good filmmaking that all those things can be made apparent * just like that.
Anyway. I want to focus on some details. There's probably something to be said about the costume change - from the hard, rigid armor of KR to the, uh, is that a sweater? of BS. When did he have time to do that? How'd he get off Endor? I have other questions about that escape, but that's not the focus of this discussion.
Anyway, I seen all the GIFs where scenes with KR mirror the behaviors his parents (like the Solo Slide). But I think that as Ben, we really see him channel his parents.
This is the most obvious one to me:
Han in TFA at Maz's castle/Ben arriving on Exegol (some kind person already GIFed it for me)
Tumblr media
That's very deliberate given that these are both JJ's films.
Now this may not be as intentional as I think, but it's obvious to me. Leia training with her brother /Ben answering the knights' challenge
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That casual, wide stance? I dunno. It feels like something he picked up from his mom like he picked up the other thing from his dad.
All this stuff just let you see and feel what was taken away by Snoke and Palpatine. He could have been a good man, strong fighter for the light, a Jedi like his mother before him and her father before her. It gives you that sharp contrast of what you lose when you choose the dark.
Then Ben and Rey both squaring up to fight Palpatine and then he straight up removes Ben from the fight completely. That's important. It makes sure there's no misunderstanding that this is Rey's fight. No one else can fight it for her or take it away from her. Kylo Ren said "that saber belongs to me" but the truth is Rey earned it. But I digress.
TROS builds up how strong Rey is in the Force throughout the movie, showing her ability to transfer life. Something it appears she learned on her own.
So when she falls. And it's made clear that she is dead. (Her body doesn't immediately disappear, however, and I think there's another discussion to be had on why that is!)
And Ben hesitates. You can see him wonder if he can do it.
He puts his hand on Rey and transfers far more than "a bit of life". Already drained by his and Rey's life-forces being used to revive Palpatine, it takes everything that is left in him. But he is also pulling Rey back from somewhere she hadn't yet pulled anyone with her own technique. Is Ben more powerful in the Force than she? (I don't think so, but I think in another life he could have been) I think Ben only knows all or nothing. It's part of how he got here in the first place. Perhaps he could have brought Rey back from the other side without using all his strength. Perhaps not. We'll never know.
Now I do not approve of the kiss. I don't even know how to begin discussing my feelings on it. But maybe it was necessary to include it just to pacify the Reylos (as if the redemption arc wasn't enough).
But the smile. The smile is so important. We've not once seen Kylo Ren happy anywhere in the series. I don't think anything he could ever achieve would have made him happy. But Ben, maybe even aware that he is about to meet his end, is so happy that she is alive, that he succeeded in saving her, that she defeated Palpatine, (that she is in his arms?) and he finally smiles and again we see the man that should have been. It's bittersweet. As relieved as I am to see Kylo Ren perish (because, like Darth Vader, after taking so many many lives, saving only one is not enough to live a free life) I am saddened to see Ben Solo die. There's probably a conversation to be had on how anyone can be tempted by evil. I dunno. I'm not a philosopher or anything.
Anyway. My sister, who is not really a Star Wars fan but who often understands storytelling far better than I, informed me that Leia was essentially possessing her son for the duration of the redemption arc. That's why her body doesn't disappear until Ben dies. That's why he fights like her, understands Rey's techniques better, can heal like that... I don't know if she's right, my sister. I don't think it's all Leia cuz I'll be damned if she kisses Rey on the mouth.
And then my bf informed me that Ben became a part of Rey when he disappeared into the Force. That's why his ghost didn't appear later. I don't know how I feel about that. I def don't know how Finn and Poe are going to feel when Rey tells them both this. I can't imagine wanting to smooch your gf after you find out that Hitler's wannabe poser grandson is possessing her. I mean.
Okay I've been writing so long I've lost what little coherency I started with. I'm so sorry.
But I just wanted to share my thoughts on all this with you guys. My main point is that if the redemption of Ben Solo had to be included in the film, I genuinely believe that it could not have been done better - from a storytelling standpoint AND with regards to the performance itself! - than they did for TROS. My hat is off to JJ and Adam, really.
(oh and his insistence on doing all his own stunts? Adorable.)
(I'm cool for discussion on the topic, but I have neither the time nor the energy to fight any Reylos about this and anyone trying to start drama gets the ol' Instablork.)

It’s the last Sunday of the decade and I will spend it sharing some predictions for Spiderman: Homeboy
We’re gonna learn MJ was abandoned by one of her parents: When I first watched the trailer for FFH where MJ assumes Peter was gonna tell her he’s Spiderman, my first thought was, “Aw, he probably was gonna confess but she has emotional issues that made her think that was unlikely and she went with the Spiderman revelation scenario instead”. And when I watched the movie that’s exactly what happened. But she was also hurting when she lied to Peter about only watching him closely due to her suspicions, which we see in her pained expression, so I thought that maybe she didn’t want to get attached to him. And by the end, she admits she lied because she actually has trouble getting attached to people in general. But why would a teen feel that way unless they feared loving someone and then losing that someone? However, this has nothing to do with Peter having a dangerous double life that might get him killed since she wasn’t certain he was Spiderman when she lied to him. The only explanation is that she lost someone she loved. So either someone died or she was abandoned. But abandonment is the most likely reason why a kid would get scared of getting attached to people, bc they fear they will be abandoned again.
This revelation will be triggered by the current Peter situation: Even if MJ wasn’t abandoned, it’s canon she has a hard time getting close to people, right? So either way, imagine how hard it’s gonna be for her being in constant fear of losing Peter forever. However, if I’m right about my theory, this will make it 1000 times worse for her, especially bc there’s nothing she can do about it. Peter might die or go to prison, just right after she allowed herself to be open about her feelings and get attached to him. If I’m correct, this will be what pushes her to talk about her family background.
Peter will mention Uncle Ben, once: Okay, hear me out. I’m not one to think he has to talk about Uncle Ben necessarily but after FFH I finally understand why he never mentions him and why it DOES make sense for him not to do it, outside of, ‘We know about the Uncle Ben backstory’. A lot of people complained that FFH was too upbeat after the Endgame events and that Peter didn’t mourn Tony as much as he had to. After all, he was all about going on a school trip and having fun and confessing to MJ. What ppl seemed to ignore is that THIS is Peter mourning Tony. He was purposely avoiding the subject and trying to distance himself from anything that could make him think of him. These are not even assumptions. That’s why he left the suit, that’s why he panicked and ran away after the homeless auction event. But of course, the world wasn’t gonna let him not think about it, with Ironman imagery literally everywhere.
But Peter doesn’t ever mention Tony until the Jet scene, which yeah is my favorite scene. However, Peter doesn’t just open up bc this is the emotional climax of the movie, but bc everything that happened before pushed him to his limits to the point he had talk about it. And he didn’t just talk, he exploded, meaning he was bottling up all of his feelings and emotions.
And if we analize what pushes him to that point, it’s all just so harsh. We know Peter blames himself for Tony’s death, which Mysterio uses against him. When Peter sees a dead Tony crawl out of his grave he doesn’t say anything but his body tells us what we need to know. He’s terrified and in shock and the fact that he doesn’t say anything out loud speaks louder because we know everything Mysterio showed him, he actually thinks and fears. But there’s also the pressure the world is putting on him to step up and become the next Number 1 hero just cuz Ironman mentored him. No one is giving him space to disconnect from the events of Endgame for even one moment. Not the current damaged and depressed reality of the world that is starting to heal, not the kids at school who try to cope with humor but still keep doing homages to the Avengers and talking about the Blip, not the police or the press who keep asking Peter questions, not Nick Fury who keeps forcing him to save the world again and making him feel guilty for being scared and depressed.
Except, I’m wrong. Because there’s ONE person who does understand and has always understood. And that is May. May gives him space, she lets him be Spiderman, she lets him grief however he wants to do it. She doesn’t question that note next to the light switch that begs for the lights to stay always on. She doesn’t ask questions or try to force him to talk about how he really feels, even tho she knows he’s dealing with PTSD. When she tells him to take the suit, she does it bc she wants him to stay save (you think she isn’t terrified of him dying again?), but doesn’t mention Tony. She makes sure to support him, and after the events of FFH, she welcomes him with a smile and a hug and feelings of pride.
Now, there aren’t pictures of Ben Parker in their home, and there hasn’t ever been in any movie. People thought this was an odd inconsistency. But I’m pretty sure May put them all away so Peter didn’t have to see them. Because she can tell his death is something Peter has a hard time dealing with.
And it is. Even more than Tony’s. He feels responsible for Tony’s death. But he knows he’s responsible for Ben’s death. And he knows sooner or later he will have to tell May this. Yet we know Peter can’t help to think of him and feel a deep respect, bc he uses his suitcase. It’s old and uncomfortable to travel with but he still picked it. If anyone wants to argue that it’s bc he couldn’t afford a new suitcase, that still doesn’t change that he was aware that Ben owned that suitcase. Besides, May didn’t make it a big deal when it blew up, although there was a halt at the question (“Where’s your suitcase?”), so I think he definitely chose to take it as opposed to not having any other option.
Peter doesn’t mention Ben bc he can’t and that’s how he deals with death in general. But I think he will talk about Ben in the next movie, which is the last one (apparently). He has to come clean with May about what happened to Ben. But like with Tony, I think smt really bad is what’s gonna push him to that moment.
Flash is gonna have his well-deserved character arc and development: I don’t know what is going on with his parents/mother. But they made a big deal out of it and it’s obvious Flash is a neglected child. I saw a theory about how Flash was probably an Osborn, which I thought was cool but that theory was kinda debunked. However, I do think they’re setting up the Thompson parents to be quite relevant. If they just wanted to point out Flash is not receiving a lot of love and attention from his family they could have done it without putting so much focus on the absent parents. Flash is probably going to have to face them one way or another and since now he knows Peter is his beloved Spidey, it makes me believe at one point he’s gonna have to choose sides, and he’ll choose Peter’s.
Marvel will use Spiderman: Homeboy to introduce Matt Murdock: Everyone has this theory, not only me. Like, that was my first thought but it was also everyone’s first thought. I still think it’s gonna be true. And I want it to be true. I need to see this guy being Peter’s lawyer.
Ned and Peter will have a fallout: ONLY if this isn’t the last Spiderman movie, which might not be if you count the possibility of Sony making their own Spidey movies or if you’re hopeful smt will convince Sony and Disney to keep cooperating. Something small but important, something flat and green depicting dead historical figures. Yes, I’m talking about money. That might do the trick.
Anyway, this theory doesn’t come from the movies per se but from the insistence by Ned’s actor Jacob that he wants Ned to go Dark Side and become Hobgoblin. I’m all about fulfilling this guy’s dream so if he wants that to happen, I want that to happen. Will it destroy my heart, though? Yes, it will. BUT if that happens, I’m expecting a redemption arc. And if they go that route it will possibly lead to two scenarios depending on if Sony and Disney stay married or get another divorce.
A. Sony introduces Harry Osborn. Or B. Marvel introduces Johnny Storm.
