genuinely adoring learning more advanced vocabulary in my Mandarin class because now I get oral test prompts like this current one, where the task is to just discuss gender equality from a certain perspective (traditional values, feminist, etc) which is so cool. I'm finally talking about things that mean something to me again, like I was able to before i lost a significant amount of vocabulary after graduating high school.
it makes writing so so much easier too, because I just talk from my own perspectives about social/political issues instead of trying to come up with nonsense responses to trivial questions that I don't care about.
these parts of continuing to learn/relearn this language remind me why I kept up with it. I genuinely love learning how to express myself and talk about things that actually matter to me. I love learning the character roots and thinking about how each character is formed and how it relates to culture and history, it's all so fascinating! I'm so glad my passion for learning is getting reignited, even if only for this particular subject.

LOCKWOOD AND CO HEADCANONS BECAUSE I'M BORED AND AUTISTIC
some of these are going to go against canon but I don't care because yes
𒊹︎︎︎ Lockwood really likes cats, and they like him too. if he sees one, he'll kneel down and just wide-eyed stare at it. and it'll??? like??? go up to him???? Lucy is still trying to figure out why this is.
"do you telepathically speak to cats lockwood"
"do I what"
𒊹︎︎︎ George once created a fake ghost out of mesh, chicken wire, semi-transparent curtains, glow-sticks, and various other random items. He claims it was for "research purposes," but considering it was placed in front of the bed in the spare room Kipps often sleeps in, nobody believes him.
𒊹︎︎︎ Kipps really likes kareoke. whether he is good or not is a topic of argument often. Lockwood says "he's making a wonderful effort," (while covering his ears and visibly grimacing) and George and Lucy just straight up tell him he sounds like a dying animal or something of the same meaning. he's actually not horrible, and Holly may or may not join him. (they are good friends no I don't take criticism. and they are both gay. they're besties and I-)
𒊹︎︎︎ Lucy made Lockwood a bracelet and he wears it literally all the time. he's got his suit, jacket, tie, and oh look at that a bracelet. very professional. he somehow doesn't see the problem.
𒊹︎︎︎ Lucy and George made Lockwood a birthday cake from scratch when he turned 18, and Kipps and Holly were in charge of decorations. Lockwood was sent on a phony errand to buy a very specific brand of doughnuts which he took very seriously. George, who was carrying the cake to put in the oven, ran into Kipps and Holly, who were holding a fold up table.
the batter spilled all over it.
Lucy insisted that the oven would burn away all the germs anyway so she and George quickly scraped the batter back in the bowl, put it in the oven, and served it later, decorated and everything as if they didn't scrape batter off the ground 2 hours before. It was not very professional looking but didn't look like anything happened to it either, and lockwood saw it and actually cried.
however, Kipps and Holly wisely turned the cake down when offered. George, Lucy, and Lockwood ate happily.
Lockwood does not know.
Lockwood will never know.
𒊹︎︎︎ holly, when lacking something practical to wear for a case, will literally cut her dresses shorter or rip off sleeves and stray ribbons without batting an eye. the team was in shock the first time she did this. she doesn't know why.
𒊹︎︎︎ Lockwood knows sign. you absolutely cannot fight me on this.
he learned when he was little; Jessica taught herself and then him because she knew he had difficulty speaking when upset. (he had an even harder time handling his emotions when he was younger.) they'd use it all the time together.
but after Jessica died and he wound up working with Sykes, there were multiple instances where he'd start signing and nobody knew what he was saying. eventually he got even more upset and just gave up, resorting to complete lack of communication until he could speak again. that happened a few times with his Portland Row crew, when he was really frustrated and just couldn't think of anything else to do, and they all felt so bad for not being able to understand him despite how hard he was trying.
lockwood decided he wanted to teach Lucy sign literally out of nowhere. they were just sitting on the couch together, and they're both all quiet until he turns to her and grins. he puts his hands to his chest and then his right pointer finger against his left palm, and she's confused until he explains it means he loves her. "love L. love Lucy. I love you, Lucy." She thinks it's the sweetest thing ever and he really wants to show her more (cuz he's finally with someone he loves and trusts and ow my heart). after that day he started teaching her for little dates and stuff and ahhhh lockyle...
help me I thought about this way to much it's so perfect
but it's better than obsessing over the fact that Netflix ditched us

Last bit started cuz I finished my first book of Canaanite myths and now moving to Mesopotamia…. And then I need to get more resources that are more up to date? Or decide how badly I want to know if these are good translations… and maybe learn Akkadian…but I don’t know other practical languages yet I’m a silly American

i have this thing where if someone can do stuff that i can't, even if they were born into it or something, i think it's really cool and i want to do it too, but then that means that there i am listening to people speak a foreign (to me) language and i think that's really cool and then i get upset with myself because i can't even identify the language so how can i learn it.

man im just like. thinking about egg signs and how they've evolved over the course of the qsmp and how the qsmp has evolved over the course of the qsmp and just feeling so much love and affection for every part of the project. i dont have any grand overarching point with this just. like. here's a history of egg comms bc of the kind of person that i am
so wayyyy back ten months ago now at the start of the short and sweet egg event that was planned to last maybe a month at most, the eggs had their own custom, decorated signs!
Tumblr media
[ID: Leo with a pink sign with an egg on the bottom corner that reads "hello" in all caps. Her nametag reads Leonardo. End ID]
They were extremely simple, single word signs. There was hello, hola, story, feed, sleep, and maybe one or two more and each was its own separate sign. The eggs could only communicate the most basic needs in words and everything else was through minecraft body language or just hoping their parents guessed right.
But obviously, there was a lot more that parents wanted to hear from their children. I'm not sure who was actually first, but the earliest departure from this system I know about is BadBoyHalo giving Dapper a simple oak sign so he could name his pet slime. (Screenshot from @/lxrd-ren)
Tumblr media
[ID: Dapper wearing a diver's helmet standing next to a tiny slime in a boat with an oak sign reading "Bouncy (slmecicle but better)" End ID]
Parents quickly realized how much more convenient this was and pretty soon every single egg had stacks of signs to communicate with.
The next innovation came from Vegetta, who was the resident mod knower at the time. He knew about colored canvas signs and gave Leo signs in her favorite color purple because he loved her and gave her everything she wanted.
Tumblr media
[ID: Leo's bed in her room under some Fooligetta fanart with a purple sign reading "<3" End ID]
Colored signs obviously had a lot of advantages. Being able to tell at a glance which egg placed which sign was a huge step forward in eggs being able to have long, complicated conversations as well as leaving obvious marks of their personality everywhere they went. It took a little while for them to be standard for every egg though. Bobby never stopped using oak signs even after Richas and Pomme both showed up with colored signs.
Tumblr media
[ID: Two signs reading from right to left a red Pomme sign reading "we already started working on a guillotine factory" and a dark grey Dapper sign reading "thats the most french u have said so far pomme" End ID]
And this was the system for a while! And it worked pretty well for most people! The biggest struggle most people had was egg signs not being translated, but streamers adjusted to that by reading signs out loud so the translators would pick up on them. This also lead to adorable and fascinating dynamics like Richas swearing in signs he wrote for Bad and then warning Bad not to read them out. There was also the genuinely phenomenal development of Leolingo where Leo writes only in Spanish to Foolish because it's easier for her to write and he takes his time to puzzle his way through it and learn in a way that's super cool to watch someone else do onscreen.
Then Tubbo joined the server. And Tubbo himself had no problems at all with the system, but he is dyslexic and he casually mentioned offhand that it was getting kind of annoying to read signs after a ten hour long stream and the admin team Fucking Cooked.
Within 24 hours, they had TTS working on the signs. Within 48 hours, it was working on books too. I can't remember how long it took to get translation working, but it was definitely under a week.
And this opened up a whole new world of possibilities for the entire QSMP. The admin team has been on top of capitalizing on it for story purposes, but also just allowing the egg admins to speak in their native languages to everyone whenever they want has been so enriching for everyone involved. Leolingo is awesome but Foolish has been learning Spanish insanely fast and his process is a lot slower and more frustrating than most people can do in front of an audience of thousands of people without feeling discouraged. That's also one language. We've had everything from Foolish being able to check his work a bit more faster to Phil insisting on his eggs taking a day to speak to him in their native languages to Ramón writing a book for Fit in Cantonese, a language we haven't even seen on the server in any other context!
And all of it is fully understood and fully communicated! Sometimes the translators mess up but no one expects them to be perfect and people ask for clarification if the translator says something that doesn't sound right. It's not only a massive step forward in communication technology, but it's a great demonstration of how to use it and when you can and can't rely on it.
And finally, the most recent innovation! One of BBH's viewers sent him a dono saying they had trouble reading certain signs because they were too low-contrast. Bad, Richas, and Pomme just. Took it upon themselves to fix the problem right there and then. Based on One (1) bringing up their own personal struggle, those three came up with new signs that innovate tremendously on the originals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two separate images of the before and after. The first is the egg signs in their original colors with the corresponding egg's name written on them to demonstrate the font color and the second is in the new, higher contrast colors with the same text. The new signs also have custom decorations for each egg. The second picture also has two signs from Pomme in all caps that read "Send all the love to Richas he spent a whole night making this he's the best <3" End ID]
There are three main innovations visible in the above pictures
1: Obviously, the colors are higher contrast. The signs with white text have darker colors and the signs with black text have lighter colors.
2: The colors themselves are lower saturation. Richas said this made it easier for him personally to read them so he corrected that way, but that's open to change if it causes difficulties for more people than it helps
3: The decorations are for accessibility reasons! People with various different forms of colorblindness will find different sets of colors easier or harder to distinguish, but any of them can look at the decorations and use them to identify whose sign is whose instead.
But! Those innovations are not why I made this post! It's these ones!
Tumblr media
[ID: The backs of the new signs when placed on the ground. Most visible are Chayanne's with vines and a hardcore heart, Sunny's with shining sunglasses, and Pomme's with an apple and the Eiffel Tower. End ID]
Richas added distinguishing marks to the backs of the signs too! This is something that Bad brought up specifically as something he wanted because it was hard for him to tell who was talking when he was using TTS from behind signs and couldn't see the colors at all.
We went from custom egg signs (a hotbar or so of words and nothing else to communicate with) through a long journey of expanding communication and expanding who we're bringing along on the communication and how easily they can join in and we've circled all the way back around to custom egg signs (they can say anything they want in any language they want and anyone will know it's them saying it from any angle)
and i guess i have enough feelings abotu that to write All This about it

Trans made TTRPGs
Due to… recent events that I would rather not talk about, today's post is a highlight of different tabletop games made by trans peeps! These games are fantastic in their own right, of course, but you can also know that they were made by incredibly cool and attractive people
(Also, these are flyover descs of the game, they'll get more in-depth singular posts later, this is because I am lazy)
Perfect Draw is a phenomenal card game TTRPG that was funded in less than a day on backerkit, it's incredibly fun and has simple to learn hard to master rules for creating custom cards, go check it out!
Songs for the dusk is fucking good, pardon my language, but it's a damn good post apocalyptic game about building community in a post-capitalist-post-apocalypse-post-whatever world. do yourself a favor and if you only check out one game in this list, check this one out, its a beautiful game.
Flying Circus is set in a WW1 inspired fantasy setting full of witches, weird eldritch fish people (who are chill as hell), cults, dead nobility, and other such things. It's inspired by Porco Rosso primarily but it has other touchstones.
Wanderhome is a game about being cute little guys going on a silly adventure and growing as the seasons change, its GMless and very fun
https://weregazelle.itch.io/armour-astir Armour Astir has been featured in here before but its so damn good I had to post it twice. AA demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of the themes of mech shows in a way that very few other games show, its awesome
Kitchen Knightmares is… more of a LARP but its still really dang cool, its about being a knight serving people in a restaurant, its played using discord so its incredibly accessible
https://grimogre.itch.io/michtim Michtim is a game about being small critters protecting their forest from nasty people who wish to harm it, not via brutal violence (sadly) but via friendship and understanding (which is a good substitute to violence)
ok this technically doesn't count but I'm putting it here anyways cuz its like one of my favorite ttrpgs of all time TSL is a game about baring your heart and dueling away with people who you'll probably kiss 10 minutes later, its very very fanfic-ey and inspired by queer narratives. I put it here because its made by a team, and the expansion has a setting specifically meant to be a trans "allegory", so I'll say it counts, honestly just go check it out its good shit
https://willuhl.itch.io/mystic-lilies
Mystic Lillies is a game inspired by ZUN's Touhou Project about witches dueling powerful foes, each other, and themselves. Mystic Lillies features rapid character creation and a unique diceless form of rolling which instead uses a standard playing card deck.
https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/141424/nobilis-the-game-of-sovereign-powers-2002-edition I… want to do a more general overview on Jenna K as an important figure in indie RPG design, but for now just know that Nobilis is good
https://temporalhiccup.itch.io/apocalypse-keys Apocalypse Keys is a game inspired by Doom Patrol, Hellboy, X-men, and other comics about monstrousness being an allegory for disenfranchisement. Apocalypse Keys is also here because its published by Evilhat so its very cleaned up and fancy but I love how the second you check out the dev's other stuff you can tell they are a lot more experimental with their stuff, this is not a critique, it is in fact a compliment
Fellowship! I've posted about this game before, but it is again here. Fellowship has a fun concept that it uses very well mostly, its a game about defining your character's culture, and I think that's really really cool
Voidheart Symphony is a really cool game about psychic rebellion in a city that really does not like you, the more you discover for yourself the better
Panic at the Dojo is a phenomenal ttrpg based on what the Brazilian would call "Pancadaria", which basically means, fucking other's people shit up. Character Creation is incredibly open and free, meaning that many character concepts are available
Legacy 2e is a game about controlling an entire faction's choices across time, its very fun
remember to be kind to a trans person today! oh also don't even try to be transphobic in the reblogs or replies, you will be blocked so fast your head will spin

Hi! I’m starting to learn French and one thing that’s both cool and weird to me is how everything is gendered in a way (referring to someone/whose saying the statement/etc.) and I was wondering how that relates to people who identity as non-binary or gender fluid in France? Are there equivalents to they/them pronouns or neo pronouns in French?
I do plan on doing my own research about this but I figured since I love your blog and you’re really open about different cultural lgbtq+ communities I’d try here first!
That's an awesome question... with a complicated answer lmao. So buckle up and bear with me !
Basically, you can't be non-binary in French. The community found ways to do it but it's not mainstream. Most of the time, they're going to get misgendered or will have to misgender themselves to get understood.
Some things I'm going to list here are not proper French. Actually, they can even be forbidden in some circumstances, according to the law (the use of inclusive language, and more specifically le point médian, was made illegal in schools in 2021 for ex) or simply because your company etc forbids it. So use this wisely, there is a time and place for inclusive language in France.
That said, things have greatly developed over the last two decades. Which was partly because of the queer community and mainly because of feminists, who are tired of the way French erases women. More and more people are using inclusive language, at least in some circumstances and circles (for ex, i wrote my master's thesis in inclusive language and it was accepted bc i was in a leftist faculty). And inclusive language is debated as a serious issue now, which is saying something.
So, how do you use inclusive language in practice?
There are different ways, as it's informal and mostly new. People are still testing new things and trying out various methods. You can stick to one or alternate or mix them up.
Pronouns
Officially, there isn't a gender neutral pronoun. We don't have an equivalent to they. You're either talking about a man or a woman. If it's both, you use masculine pronouns ("masculine trumps feminine" rule). Same thing if you don't know the gender of the person ("masculin générique").
The most common neopronoun is "iel" (plural : iels), which is obviously a contraction of the masculine pronoun "il" and its feminine equivalent "elle". It works for nb folks or to avoid talking about someone's gender or to refer to a group of men and women. So it's equally used by the queer community and feminists.
I'm pretty sure other neopronouns exist but I can't think of any at the top of my head.
Choosing the right words
Sometimes, inclusive language is just about learning to use alternatives.
Instead of using gendered words, you can choose to use gender-neutral words or words "épicènes", aka words which are identical in their feminine and masculine form. For ex, instead of "homme politique" or "femme politique", you can use "personnalité politique". Personnalité is a feminine word but it's actually gender-neutral as you can use it for women and men alike. "Élève" (student) is épicène, as a female student and a male student are both referred to as "élève". Although épicène words as a gender-neutral option only work in their plural form, as you have to choose either a feminine or masculine article for the singular ("les élèves" is inclusive but it can only be "un" or "une" élève).
As good as this method is, it can be quite limitating. Your vocabulary will be drastically reduced and it can be quite hard to master that kind of speech so you can reach the point where you don't have to think everything over for ages before you open your mouth.
With oral French, you can take it a step further by choosing words that sound the same even if they have a different spelling. Ex, friend is "ami" or "amie" but it's pronounced the same way so if you say it out loud, people can't know how you're gendering it (as long as there isn't a gendered article/word with it ofc).
It avoids misgendering people but the downside is that, as masculine is considered neutral in French, people will often think : no gender specified = masculine. Not even because they're sexist or whatever, it's just so ingrained in our brains that it's a knee-jerk reaction.
That's also why most feminists often prefer to use explicitly feminine words when talking about women. For ex, they prefer the word "autrice" to "auteure" (female writer) because the second one sounds the same as its masculine version "auteur". And as previously mentionned, out loud, people will assume by default you're talking about a man. It's a big debate though, lots of women prefer words that sound masculine - going as far as refusing to use feminine words at all! Which sounds cool and gender-bending as fuck but in reality comes from feminine words traditionally seen as less legitimate and serious. Even today, if you look up the word empress "impératrice" in a French dictionary, the first definition that comes up is "wife of an emperor". "Woman ruling a country" comes second. Using a masculine title to refer to women can also be a way to mock them and show they're not welcome (a french deputy got fined in 2014 because he called the female president of the national assembly "Madame le président" and refused to use the feminine title "Madame la présidente").
Recently the tendency and official guidelines have been to feminize words, so I'd say go with that by default, but respect other people's choice if they specify how they want to be called.
Anyway I'm getting off-track but what I meant was that in French, if you avoid talking about gender, you're automatically erasing women (and nb people). So if you want to include everyone, you need to make it obvious.
Inclusivity as a statement
The most common way to make women and men equally visible is the "point médian" rule, which you can also use to refer to non-binary people as it avoids picking a specific gender.
Basically, it means pasting together the masculine and feminine forms of a word and using dots/middle dots/hyphens/parentheses/capital letters to create an inclusive word. For ex, instead of saying acteur (♂️) or actrice (♀️) for actor, you'll write "acteur.ice". For the plural form, there are two schools of thought : either you separate the feminine and masculine form AND the suffix used to signify the plural, or you don't. Aka, "acteur.ice.s" or "acteur.ices". Personally I prefer the second option because less dots makes it easier to read and faster to write, but it's an individual choice, both work.
There are two major downsides to this method : it only works in writing + it isn't doable for every word, as feminine and masculine words can be quite different and pasting them together that way would be unintelligible. Ex, "copain" and "copine" (friend or boyfriend/girlfriend depending on the context) would give something like "cop.ain.ine"...
You can work around that by choosing alternative words (as previously stated!). And it's still a pretty good method, especially as it works for any type of word (adjectives etc). Some people argue that it's hard to read and ugly but personally I think it's just a matter of habit (although it does pose a problem for people using screen readers). Be aware that it is the most controversial version of inclusive writing, as it's the furthest structure from how languages typically work.
If you don't like dots or want an alternative for oral speech, you can also straight up create new words that sound both feminine and masculine, making them gender-neutral. To use the previous example, "copain" and "copine" become "copaine".
Obviously, this only works if it's obvious which words they're based on. I think it's a great way to make French more inclusive but I'd advise against using it with uninitiated people as it would probably confuse them more than anything. This method is still quite niche.
An inclusive, yet binary language
As you've probably figured out, inclusive language remains quite binary in the way we approach it. It's more about making things both masculine and feminine than transcending gender and creating gender-neutral alternatives. Probably because inclusive language was more often a will to stop women from being erased rather than a non-binary friendly gesture.
Which means, there are also some rules that were created to avoid the "masculine trumps feminine rule" but don't allow room for non-binarity at all. I'll still explain them because they're interesting and you might encounter them at some point.
The proximity rule ("règle de proximité") is one of these. It existed in Ancient Greek and Latin but was dropped in Modern French in favor of the masculine trumps feminine rule. Basically, you gender things according to what's closest in the sentence instead of systematically using masculine words to gender a mixed group. For ex, instead of saying "Les hommes et les femmes sont beaux" you say "Les hommes et les femmes sont belles", as the subject "femmes" is closer to the adjective "beau/belle" than "hommes".
Another method is to systematically use both masculine and feminine words (which I personally find excruciating to write and read). Meaning, instead of writing "Les étudiants mangent à la cantine" (students eat at the cafeteria), you'll write "Les étudiantes et les étudiants mangent à la cantine".
This is mainly for the subject of the sentence : adjectives and such are gendered according to the masculine trumps feminine rule. The point is to explicitly include women, not to make the sentence unintelligible or gender-neutral.
When following this method, you also have to pay attention to whether you put the feminine subject first or the masculine. The rule is to follow alphabetical order. For ex, in "l'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes", "femmes" comes first because F comes before H. But in "Les auteurs et les autrices de roman", "auteurs" comes first because E comes before R. Etc.
This method is common as it's the only inclusive language you can get away with, given that it's a valid way of speaking French. It's even mandatory in some situations now, like in job descriptions for the french administration, in the spirit of gender equality.
So, how do I gender a non-binary person?
In short, you can use the pronoun iel + avoid gendered words and/or use the point médian and/or make up new words.
But keep in mind that if you're not talking to someone familiar with these rules, you'll have some explaining to do. And looots of people are still very anti inclusive language, because they're sexist and/or transphobic, ignorant, language purists, etc. A few years ago it was the thing to be angry about for conservatives and anti-feminists so it's still very controversial. But if you're in a trans inclusive queer space or talking with intersectionnal leftists, go for it !
I hope I covered everything (fellow french, don't hesitate to comment!) and didn't put you to sleep lmao. If you want to see some examples, you can look it up on Wikipedia or check #bagaitte on tumblr (it's the french queer tag) 😉

I wish people who believe in narcissistic abuse and act like people with NPD are so evil were not even human understood that having NPD can absolutely motivate people to do good things.
I have NPD and I work in education. At the school I work at, we have a couple Ukrainian kids who don’t speak English. I have begun learning Ukrainian (or well, trying to, this is my first time trying to learn a language that uses a different alphabet than English so progress is slow), specifically because I want to be the one to make these kiddos feel welcome. I want to be the one teacher who has put in effort to learn their language, rather than just trying to teach them ours. That’s a good thing to do, but if I didn’t have NPD I probably wouldn’t bother to do that and would just use google translate (like all the rest of the teachers).
I, like other narcissists, find that most of my motivation comes from looking for another narc high, and for me, I am much more likely to get a narc high from doing something good and feeling good about myself because I did something good, than I ever would from making someone else feel bad about themself. Why would I spend my time going around hurting other people for no reason when I could put my effort into doing something actually cool and then everyone will think I’m awesome because I actually did something awesome?
I know I’m not the only narcissist like this, but sure, let’s keep spreading the rhetoric that narcissists only exist to hurt people.

Hello, I hope this is not a bother, but can you make the brothers react to a Mc that is half demon and half human? Or that Mc is like Michael's child and the brothers react to that?I know they are strange ideas (especially the last one) but I hope you like them.
But the way english is not my fiesta language so i'm sorry for any mistakes.
Have a nice day/night ♥️
hi!! omg both of those concepts are so interesting so I had a hard time choosing which one to write ahhhh
your english is pretty good so no worries! I'm always so impressed by non-native english speakers because english is such a difficult language to learn
if you want, I can write both just in separate posts. hope you didn't mind that I picked just one, so just let me know
please enjoy :)
Half demon half human Mc
Lucifer
quick to ask who your demon parent is so he could find out more about you and them to better accommodate you
he's a little relieved because he knows he'll be able to meet your needs better since he didn't know shit about humans before the exchange program
he would never say anything about it, but was pondered your mortality a few times
do you have the demon lifespan, a human lifespan, or somewhere between? does which parent is which affect that in any way? he doesn't like to dwell on that
Mammon
thinks that you're so cool since you can have the best of both worlds
you know all the human stuff AND you can do cool demon stuff?? AWESOME
asks all sorts of questions, even dumb ones that he should know the answer to
smack him with your tail or wings if he ever asks how you were born or something like that
Levi
unironically refers to you as the main character
both of you giggle over the fact that you're just like the gacha life youtube protagonists
henry? more like the half demon half human alpha wolf abandoned genius princess
but in all seriousness, he thinks you're so cool but he would never admit that because he would keel over and die afterwards
Satan
since he's the only true demon, the two of you can bond a little over that
finds it very interesting to see where your demonic heritage comes in
helps you out with learning to control and maintain whatever power you inherited
tries to find other half demon half humans to set you up on "playdate" lol
Asmo
asks all sorts of questions to see if he's ever gotten down with your parent (lol)
loves to talk with you about wing/tail and horn care
exchange all sorts of tips for party tricks that both of you love
since he knows you're a little stronger than a full human would be, he's willing to take you out to more places and do more fun stuff
Beel
one of the only brothers who's also interested in your human side
while wanting to meet your demon parent, he also wants to get to know your human parent
your human parent loves him <3
however, he does take this chance to introduce you to some demon exclusive foods or experiences that he's like 75% sure won't kill you
Belphie
he doesn't care too much but he knows he doesn't have to be as careful with his antics around you
your strength always amazes him since sometimes you pick him up with one hand since sometimes he forgets
often has you help out with his anti-lucifer league pranks since he's not as afraid of you getting strung up
less afraid of you being alone in the devildom since he knows you can protect yourself <3

KUNG LAO
Now, Kung Lao is pretty tall but YOU!! He’s damn near a ant next to a giant!
He’s actually happy that you’re taller because he uses you as like a threat
“I’ll get my s/o to crush you” “I fight for a living im not scared of them”
He HATES when anyone makes any form of negative comments about you.
“Their skin is so weird” “I know and their so tall its a mystery how they managed to date Kung Lao” “They probably blackmailed him or threatened him”
It was at that moment Kung Lao turned evil and put his hands on a civilian. Blood was everywhere :).
He also loves when you scold him in your language.
Liu Kang
Bookie wookie is shy 😞 everytime you stand next to him he turn RED!
He also LOVES when you tease him by leaning down to look directly at him.
Liu Kang being the Chosen one and all, means he has ENEMIES!! But thats where you come in because lets be real, when it comes to people/things Avatars love, they show NO MERCY!
He is fascinated with your skin and features. He finds it unique and thats what makes you so special to him.
He goes out of his way to learn your language and when he repeats some phrases you can’t help but laugh because its so butchered but A for effort.
He finds the mountain banshee’s (Ikran) super cool! The process of trying to tame one he is not with but once its tamed they’re inseparable.
He is a bit scared of the fact that your nevous system dangles around like hair.
Mileena
Before you became her s/o she was 100% mad that you existed.
“So yall can accept THEM but not me” yea she was not about that.
When you became her s/o she would still tease you but appreciated your company.
When you speak your native Language she just stares at you like this .
“You’re extremely long. And you look like you wouldn’t taste good” “WHAT😧” “YOU’RE BLUE”
Yea get ready for her to say the most random things at the most random times.
She’s also curious. She asks questions about your lifestyle and proceeds to say “not like I care or anything” 💀
Lowkey jealous of your weapons lmaoa
Skarlet
Doesn’t know how you two started dating but she isn’t complaining.
Skarlets pretty short so goodness she looks so tiny compared to you.
Randomly stabs you just to see if your blood is blue 😭
She loves playing with your tail, she says its fun 🤷🏾‍♀️
Completely forgets you only have 4 fingers so she kinda sorta dislikes holding your hand.
She HAS to taste your blood, she’s curious to know how it tastes.
JADE
She LOVE LOVE LOVES your appearance!
She loves tracing and kissing your stripes.
She finds your ability to see in the dark awesome and your cat like eyes seductive in a way.
She’s always under or behind you❤️ she wants to be close.
She asks you to teach her your language, just so she can tell you how much she loves you!
She insists on your way of doing things because in her eyes you can never be wrong.
Bonus: she loves being on your back!!

PRELIMINARY ROUND - DC COMICS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA
Cassandra Cain
1.) essentially her character premise is that shes more or less an unbeatable martial artist due to the way she was raised. in the comics, she's the second batgirl and had a very popular solo series from 2000-2006. However, essentially DC editorial really didn't like that a teenage chinese girl was a better hand-to-hand fighter than batman, and so mandated that she be turned into a extremely random (also remarkably racist, as she was more or less turned in a 'dragon lady' stereotype) villain, which completely derailed and destabilized her character enough for her to almost entirely disappear from comics for the next decade. this is a far more detailed write up if wanted: https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/pdue0e/american_comicsdc_comics_the_saga_of_cassandra/
2.) Following the events of One Year Later, Cass was turned into a homicidal villain who led her own league of assassins and wanted to force Tim Drake into murdering people. This was later retconned as her being drugged, brainwashed, and manipulated by deathstroke.
3.) Literally canonically a better fighter than Batman and probably most of the DC universe. Killed one person once and because of the way she grew up (never taught to speak, learned to communicate by reading body language, in order to make her the ultimate weapon), saw what he experienced as he died and then refused to ever kill again. Had an awesome initial run… And then got hit with "evil mind control" that made her go completely OOC, depopularizing her character so much that a lot of people don't even know she exists.
Barbara Gordon
1.) Was shot as angst value for Bruce and her dad, implied to be sexually assaulted in The Killing Joke with absolutely no respect for her long career as Batgirl. When Alan Moore asked if he could, the editor said "cripple the bitch." She became paralyzed from the waist down. THankfully, an actually good writer picked her up from there and then wrote one of the best stories ever written (Oracle Year One: Born from Hope). Was one of the most iconic disabled characters in comic book history, hell, as Oracle, she was definitely up there as one of the most iconic disabled characters ever as well as a fantastic character, period. There were a few moments where people kept trying to make things out of her disability and had her be shitty to other women for no reason but for the most part, she was awesome. During her time In 2011, Dan Didio and some other misogynistic/ableist comic book writers were responsible for "curing" her disability and forcing her back into Batgirl, despite her having shown absolutely no desire to do so, as part of the New 52. They also made it an editorial mandate that she couldn't have glasses, a cool secret base, and her time as Oracle couldn't be referenced. This was because those writers were nostalgic for the 60s Batman show where Babs was played by an actress they all had the hots for and couldn't accept she'd grown up and moved on. That was bad enough, but over time, she's been increasingly deaged and reduced even further to just Dick Grayson's on and off again girlfriend and a generic girlboss. Batgirl of Burnsides burn in hell.
2.) Famously fridged in 1988, which was so popular with misogynists it became canon. After almost 2 decades of being one of the only disabled characters, was rebooted to a younger, more fun version of herself whose only history is that she was fridged but not disabled by it.
3.) The Killing Joke is one of the biggest comic examples of a female character getting hurt to motivate male characters. Also tbe way different cannons will trade off who her romantic intrest is out of Batfamily is pretty disturbing ranging from Bruce Wayne in Batman the Animated series universe (ew) to Tim Drake in the Arkham games (ew). Not to mention DC now is not letting her grow out of being Batgirl taking away her legacy of other young female heroes taking up her mantle and her getting to mentor them instead forcing her into a Batgirl cycle of purgatory when she was always better as Oracle (Its a little more complicated in the new Batgirl book but its still not solving the issues in a way that feels meaningful enough to make up the damage).

being bilingual is awesome. just being able to communicate in another language in itself is so cool but one aspect we don't talk about just as much is the access to information. like, right at your fingertips. just looking stuff on google and realizing wait. I could look up the same thing but in english and I'll get different results?? absolutely changed my life. I actually realized that embarrassingly late in my studies but now it's practically become a habit of mine.
looking up that wikipedia page and it's not very detailed? switch the language. looking up an event/phenomenon/whatever for a paper but you can't seem to find much on it? switch the language. world news that haven't be covered in your country? swith the language.
learning a second language has like. expanded my world view and my range of possibilities so much it's incredible. of course not every language has as much documentation available online, and english is very much at an advantage in that field, but there is a community for every culture out there. and realizing you can actually be a small part of it because you speak the language is a feeling like no other.
I wish I knew other languages so I could learn things the english and french speaking worlds are not knowledgeable about. I wish I knew every language, but alas, we only have so much time....

Hey, can you please do bnha boys x hard of hearing male reader? If not, that’s perfectly fine. (´∀`•)
Yeah sure why not, hope you enjoy it's gonna be in the form of head cannon's sorry if that's not what you wanted also pronouns aren't used so its gender neutral ♥️
Characters: Bakugou,Izuku,shoto, kirishima,Denki,lida
Bakugou
He would understand considering his quirk he has the exact same problem.
He wouldn't give you pity or comfort you because of it
Instead he would relate to you "I got the same fucking problem" he would say.
"Don't go thinking where equals either!" Bakugou is stubborn he will eventually start to talk to you more about it though just give the angry Pomeranian some time.
He would probably take you out on a date seeing as you had the same problem it would cause him to eventually be more comfortable with you then with anyone
He thinks your cool he won't admit it out loud well yeah nvm he will no one would believe you anyway
Izuku (Not vigilante)
Lucky for you he knows sign language! He mainly learned it because he felt that bakugou might lose his hearing and he wanted to still talk to his childhood best friend.
But hey he's glad he can use it with other people with the same problem (If you know it)
Talks to you a lot reassurance is key in his mind.
Gives you compliments and would gladly admit out loud that he thinks you're awesome and everyone would believe you ;)
Kirishima
He also would not mind but be would take pity on you.
Anytime bakugou got too loud he would cover your ears not wanting your hearing to get worse.
He also started saving money for hearing aids seeing as he wanted to always talk to you.
He would learn sign language! Probably ask izuku to teach him.
He compliments you and gives you pats on the head while covering your ears since bakugou cannot stop screaming.
He does not recommend sitting at the bakusquad table
Denki
Exactly like kirishima in this situation except he would have a little fun with it.
Such as messing with you about but He is joking keep that in mind.
Sometimes he does take it too far and you don't talk to him.
He would feel horrible and hold you while whispering he's sorry and he would live with the guilt forever
He still jokes but keeps them small now scared of hurting your feelings.
Someone bullied and yelled at you because of it? That's okay he'll kiss your forehead and make all the bad thoughts go away.
lida
As class president he makes sure no one bothers you about if they do they Will get a very long lecture
Doesn't really do PDA as it's against the rules but if you really are feeling bad he would gladly hug you and no kisses but you'll get some in private.
He knows sign language Incase your hearing goes out claiming it is unfit of him if he doesn't know it.
Make sure that your school time goes smoothly and when you're alone in your dorm the class president phase goes away and he'll hold you and everything.
Shoto
He is not good with feelings but he doesn't mind your situation. Someone messes with you?
Easy he glares till they go away
If you're upset he'll give you an awkward hug before offering some of his cold soba ♥️
He does eventually get better at affection and hugs you whenever you feel down.
He does not know sign language! But that's okay he'll give you a notebook to write your words in if you ever lose your hearing.
He'll probably even steal his sperm donors credit card to buy you hearing aids :)

🗒 ❛ Reader Who Uses ASL ༉‧₊˚✧

#Notes: IS THAT AN AUTISM THING?? I DO THE SAME-

꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Jeff The Killer
"SLENDY, Y/N IS DOING WEIRD SHIT WITH THEIR HANDS AGAIN!" Yeah. Listen, he knows it's sign language, but is that gonna stop him from being a total fucking prick? Absolutely not. Will flip you off and say he's also speaking in ASL just like you. Doesn't know any sign at all and isn't willing to learn, either. Also, why do you use it if you can speak and hear just fine? Weirdo. (I'm sorry he's such a bitch).
Tumblr media
꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Ben Drowned
Holy shit, can you teach him the cuss words? He wants to swear at people without them knowing, too! Finds it kinda cool, but doesn't think much of it. Will try to pick up on the more common signs as well so he can use it with you, even if he fails miserably most of the time.
"Hey, Y/N, look!" *Signs "Where" and the letter "S"*
"... Did you just try asking me where the bathroom is?"
"Yeah, why? Is this not right?"
He's trying.
Tumblr media
꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Ticci Toby
Fairly familiar, since he works with Hoodie, but absolutely not fluent. Only knows the basics and the cuss words, but he finds it super cool that you're fluent, since ASL is also a full and complex language that takes effort to learn. Will sign some stuff while talking to you as well, copying you. (His tics make it a little difficult, though).
Tumblr media
꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Eyeless Jack
Well, that's new. You learned a whole language just for the sake of it, even if you don't actually need it, per se? That's pretty impressive, actually. The most willing to learn with you, and he's a pretty fast learner. The information just kind of sticks for him. Soon he's gonna be signing more than you.
Tumblr media
꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Hoodie
He's ecstatic. None of the other creeps are actually completely fluent in ASL like him, even Masky, though he's definitely the one who knows the most. He's gonna take any excuse he can to talk to you, knowing that he won't have to worry about language barriers or be obligated to write anything that he's saying down for you to read. He doesn't have to with you! How awesome is that!?
Tumblr media
꒰⸝⸝₊⛓┊Jane The Killer
Fairly impressed as well. I think she's bilingual, so she knows the struggle of learning another language, and with sign language it's no different. Also fairly willing to learn, just for the fact that she genuinely enjoys learning new things for the sake of it. Overall, respects you as not being stupid like most of the people around her.

Hey, I'm MimiBlue and I love pokemon, the anime and the games, I love the plot they have created and of course legendaries and singular pokemon 😊.
Months ago, I came to tumblr and saw a lot of blogs of Mew and Mewtwo, I have always been interested in those pokemon, so it was like I have found something cool to enjoy 🤩, and the best of all were the admins of those blogs, they are so caring and treat the anons in a super good way 🥰, they have lead me to a desicion.
I always loved drawing, but some years ago I had developed a neurological disease that makes my hands shake uncontrollably, so I stoped drawing. But now, since I saw the blogs of those admins, they have inspired and encouraged me to start drawing again, even with all the difficulties I have, so I will start the journey to draw again 😎.
I decided that my first drawing has to be Victini doing the pose of victory, is a pokemon that gives strength to others when they more need it, so I hope Victini will give me the willpower to not give up in this journey, and of course, lead me to the victory of this great mission I have 😁.
I have to thanks to @mewtwoandme , @xxtc-96xx , @dxzziie , @loupy-mongoose , @phlurrii , @pokemon-ash-aus , @penumbramewtwos , @ask-mirage-mews and @blues-sues for inspired me with your drawings, you all are awesome guys 💕.
P.S. (yes, I'm left handed and I don't know how to paint, but I guess I will learn on the way...oh, and by the way, english isn't my first language, so if I have some grammar mistakes I'm sorry 😅).
