I figured I should probably let you know but Remus and I are safe. If you didn't know Seoul had record Torrential rain on Monday and the gangnam and several other districts flooded. I am not in any of those districts, they are in the Southern part of Seoul near the Han river and we are in the North kind of near the mountains.

This is the worst natural disaster that has happened to Seoul in decades but thankfuly we are safe along with my students and my friends.

Reservation + Product Information

When making a reservation via IG DM or Kakao they will ask you which cup you are going to make ahead of time. In order to finalize your reservation you will need to pay the total cost of the items ahead of time via a bank transfer (계자 이체).

Class times run in slots of 2 hours from 11:00 - 13:00, 14:30 - 16:30, and 17:30 - 19:30

Class Breakdown

The first half of the class involves selecting and laying out the colors and designs to place on your mug. You draw on the back of the colored paper to cut out your desired shapes or pick from the provided letters and designs. Layering is possible (e.g. adding a design on top of a color swatch).

NOTE: the pink film is actually transparent so after the glazing process they do only the black outline designs will remain.

As you can see above I cut out various hearts/shapes/blobs and planned to layer them underneath various existing black outline designs.

The second half of the class is submerging your decals in water to gently separate them from a backing film, and then placing them onto the mug. (The instructor said to only submerge one decal at a time LOL rip)

Once you are satisfied with the placement you will have to gently dab off the excess water and squeeguee your design. It's fairly easy to replace if you mess up, but if yout take too long the decals WILL rip so be careful T__T

NOTE: You do not get to take your mug home with you day of. It will be available to pick up or ship within 4-5 weeks, and shipping to an address within Korea is an additional 4,000 won.

I will add updated photos once I receive mine in the mail next month! Overall this was a fun experience to do with friends, but if you're looking to completely design something that's entirely you're own, there is little room for creativity design-wise (think of it like doing adobe illustrator on a mug as opposed to being able to draw like photoshop). However if you're okay with just colorful shapes, blobs, texts, and some really cute predesigned characters this is the perfect memory piece for you. Just be sure to somewhat know what you want to design before you go in otherwise like us you'll be pressed for time. The only con for me was the time it takes to actually get your item.

I am back. It has been a while but so much has happened I don't even know where to begin. Most of the reason for being MIA was that I was overwhelmed with school full time and work full time. Now I don't work, but I have a 4 month old baby and will start school again next semester so lets see how that goes
