"Good morning, querida." You said as Namora entered your home. "How did the visit to your cousin go?"
She didn't say anything, and instead of her usual greeting of a hug from behind and a kiss on your cheek, she immediately retired to the bedroom. Your eyebrows furrowed as you swam after your significant other, wondering why she wasn't paying you any mind.
Namora sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the ground and fidgeting with her hands. Something was on her mind. You just didn't know what. You knelt on the mattress, laying your chin on her shoulder from behind.
"What's wrong, Namora?"
She smiled weakly, shaking her head. "It's nothing to worry you about, in yakunaj."
"If it makes the great warrior Namora ignore her wife and forget to kiss her 'hello,' then it's something." You murmured as your lips brushed over her skin. "So please, tell me."
"Ever since the truce, I've been having doubts about K'uk'ulkan," Namora finally confessed. "I couldn't understand why he called a truce, nor can the others—which is why I visited him in the first place."
"And? What did he say?"
"He said that with the alliance with Wakanda, we'd be stronger once the time comes to attack the surface."
"Your cousin makes a good point."
"I think so as well. However, Attuma? Not so much. He and a few others continued to doubt when I told them." She sighed, throwing her head back to rest on your shoulder. "I don't feel so certain about Talokan's future anymore."
You placed a kiss on her shoulder, wrapping your arms around Namora. "Your cousin has been king for a long time. He knows what he's doing."
"You're right."
"When have I ever been wrong?" You teased, making the both of you chuckle. "Are you feeling better now?"
"I am." She turned around to face you, the corners of her lips curling into a smile. "Thank you, in yakunaj."
"You're welcome, querido."
"Before I forget..." Pulling you into an embrace, her lips latched onto yours. You wrapped your arms around her neck, pulling her closer to you. The two of you were breathless when you pulled away. "I didn't get to greet my dear wife with a kiss."
A cheeky grin spread across your face. "Well, after our recent conversation I think I deserve a little more than that, don't you?"

First Mention of Kukulkán in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
First Mention of Kukulkán in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever!!
The new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reveals that Namor is known as "K'uk'ulkan, the Feather Serpent God" to the inhabitants of his underwater realm of Talocan.
In the comics, Kukulkán is the wind god of the Ahau, the pantheon of Mayan Gods in the Marvel Universe!
Kukulkán was first mentioned in Namora #1 (1948)!
Coincidentally, Namora also features in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, played by Mabel Cadena!
Kukulkán again features in X-Men #25-26 (1966), where he battles the original X-Men!

It’s been a couple of months. When are you going to update Mabel’s Marvellous Universe Growth and Hope?
To be honest... Yeah, the writer energy drainage for MMU was way too strong these last months. I had to take a break even with my own worry of forgetting to update it - but no worries! Mayhaps it will return later this month.

Rookie-Critic's Top 25 Films of 2022:
Honorable Mentions - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Following up the monumental success of the first Black Panther was always going to be a massive challenge. That challenge was made next to impossible after the passing of Chadwick Boseman and, I gotta be honest, I wasn't entirely sure how they were gonna do it. To my relief, that T'Challa-sized hole left behind by Boseman's passing ended up being Wakanda Forever's greatest strength. The sorrow at the loss of that great man is palpable thoughout the entire film, flowing through the fabric of every shot and every line of dialogue. Angela Bassett, in particular, is in top form here, delivering not just the MCU's best performance in 2022 by as mile, but one of the performances of the year, period. I love Jamie Lee Curtis, and I'm super proud of her for finally getting her Oscar, but that award was Bassett's to lose, and it should have been her (if maybe not Stephanie Hsu) who walked away with it that night. Also a standout is Tench Huerta playing the long-awaited Namor, the Sub-Mariner. As much of a positive aspect the celebration of Boseman's life is in Wakanda Forever, the film's story needed to shine, as well, if it was going to live up to the first one's legacy, and Huerta made sure it did by bringing an anger to the character that, while in a similar vein to the character's persona in the comics, was all his own in the context of the way his character is portrayed in the film. This was the MCU's breadwinner in 2022, and I can't wait to see where they take these characters going forward.
