Spoilers Loki s2 e5

I have a lot to say!!! (this will be long)

Ok first of all this scene made me laugh a lot because of how randomly they presented the original timeline of Mobius, he looks like a child playing (oh and him being a single dad it makes a lot of sense to me)

Oh my f*cking god If I liked O.B before, now I love him with all my soul! He is not only a nerdy genius but a science fiction geek whose passion is to be a writer!!! And why didn't they let him keep his books in the bookstore?! I would gladly buy them!! Just look at his face, he needs a hug :(

AND WHY THE FUCK DID THEY NOT HELP HIM WHEN THE BOOKS DROPPED ON HIM?! IT COSTS NOTHING TO BE KIND DAMN IT

Ok, I think we've all realized that O.B's workshop is the same as the basement where he works at the TVA, maybe he was the one who created the TVA after all? btw how beautiful the photography is in this entire series.

I admit it, I laughed my ass off at this scene, I apologize (make it a meme pls lol) Honestly, this whole scene and the interactions that O.B had with Loki made me laugh (when Loki tries to control his timeslipping or when O.B electrocutes him as scientific proof)

This scene where Loki adjusts his hair and his jacket to see Mobius 👀 (he only does it with him) I wonder what the Sylki fans have to say

Remember how I said I hated Hunter X5/Brad Wolfe? Well I was wrong, there is one person I hate more, her. Girl, they're literally telling you that everything is going to shit and you don't give a damn? On top of that, when they tell you that you are selfish, do you take it naturally as if it were something to be proud of? Why are you like this? The worst thing of all is that when Loki says he wants his friends back she calls him selfish, not sweetheart, that's not being selfish. Being selfish is turning a blind eye to a problem that you mainly caused. Loki's fear of being alone is understandable and justified since he felt that way all his life and has done all the things he did for that same reason, which It's being really selfish, it's the opposite, wanting to be alone and forget your friends and not care that their timelines are falling apart. Sylvie you are a hypocrite (sorry I had to vent)

AAAAAAAAAA I'M GOING TO CRY GOD. I said it and I will always say it Loki needs a hug 😭 This scene is super moving because it shows us Loki's true purpose, he just wants his friends back, who are also people he hasn't known for a long time but who were attentive to him (btw Tom Hiddleston always shines in all his scenes )

This scene...holy shit this scene was scary. I think it's even more terrifying than Thanos' snap.

It's overwhelming how everything around her disappears in seconds leaving her in literal emptiness. There is absolutely nothing left, only threads floating in an enveloping blackness. When I saw that scene I felt empty and desolate.

OH SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN...

NOOOOOOO MOBIUS NOT YOU (He just wanted to save his children 😭)

Loki's face when he sees his friend disappear D: (I'm having deja vu from the first season when Mobius was pruned)

Sylvie too?! Why does she disappear and Loki doesn't? (By the way, you just arrived Sylvie when you realize that everything is disappearing? really?)

Ok this is a nightmare for Loki, he was left alone and couldn't do anything to avoid all that, I think it's the most hopeless scene of the episode :( (And the way he tries to grab those threads…I'm broken)

OK HEAR ME OUT BECAUSE I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS SCENE. I think the background voices help a lot with the feeling of anguish and helplessness that Loki feels, for not being able to save what he loved most, his friends. And when you feel overwhelmed by all those voices and at the end one stands out and it's Sylvie's voice saying something like what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we are destined to lose? That's when he screams in despair and goes back in time just a few seconds earlier and manages to control his timeslipping. And I must say that at first when I saw this scene it reminded me a lot of the scene from the movie "Ella Enchanted" when she is forced to kill the prince and she is surrounded by mirrors and begins to remember moments of her life such as when her mother told him to trust her or something like that (I don't remember the scene much, I saw it years ago lol) the point is that she refuses with all her heart to obey that order and in a moment of desperation she screams just like Loki and she says that she will no longer be obedient and drops the dagger, freeing herself from the spell. I don't know if you understand my point because I'm bad at explaining, but I think that the love he feels for his friends was what made him go back in time, that strong desire to want to make things right and that determination to say "this isn't true." It can end like this, I decide what is going to happen" (free will) I think that is what makes him finally able to control the situation, love is the most powerful force. Something similar happens in the movie "Tomorrowland" I think.

This scene is really powerful, the background music, the phrases that Loki says, the context of the scene, it is cinema. I think you don't need an action scene or scenes for a scene to be epic and move you. This is epic with so little, it is simple but effective. And the music is really the icing on the cake, it is so hopeful and gives strength to the moment when Loki returns to the TVA being able to fulfill his mission, I cried. Loki has evolved into a hero who saves the day and everyone.

And that ending??! Oh no the cliffhanger again..

Phew I know this was very long but I really needed this kind of catharsis, never has a Loki episode left me with so many emotions and beautiful things like this one. I laughed, I got excited, I cried and I was scared. I am very happy with the evolution of Loki and each episode that passes wins my heart more, I can't wait to see the next chapter. Everything is perfect in this series, the music, the settings, the actors, etc. It shows that it is made with the heart

Ok… so…

I love the idea of Mobius going back to his timeline to co-parent with Don and show up in Kevin and Sean’s lives as the weird uncle/long lost twin brother trope.

But you know what I would love even more?

A post-TVA family reunion with Mobius and his family from his actual timeline.

Like, imagine Kevin and Sean waking up in the void after their timeline was pruned. Imagine them running away from Alioth and freaking out about how scary and cool it was that they almost got eaten by a cloud monster. Imagine them growing up in the void, surviving off of all the Boy Scout skills they’re dad taught them. Imagine them high-jacking a jet-ski, putting it on wheels, and riding around all over the void like land pirates. Imagine them bartering and making alliances with all the Lokis (Kid Loki would TOTALLY be their best friend!). Imagine them bonding and relying on each other to survive, becoming the inseparable duo they were meant to be in the process.

Imagine the new TVA cleaning up the void, getting wind of this land pirate brother duo that rides around on a jet-ski, and just immediately knowing it’s Mobius’s boys. Imagine them letting Mobius know, and Mobius HURDLING out of retirement to go on a mission to find them. Imagine the hilariously heartfelt and tearful reunion that would occur when he does. Imagine them all being so proud of each other: Mobius being proud of his boys for surviving in the void for so long, and Kevin and Sean being in awe of their Dad, who is no longer the goofy jet-ski salesman they once knew, but is now a time-cop hero who helped free the multiverse.

And what about their mom? What if Mobius’s nexus event had something to do with her absence? What if his timeline, the one that got pruned, was the one timeline where she didn’t die, or get snapped, or leave him? If we go with the divorce option, the implications of that are devastating. How sad would it be if the moment they chose to stay together rather than get divorced was the moment the TVA showed up? It would add a whole new layer of evil and just despicable wrongness to what He Who Remains did. What are the odds that she’s still alive out there in the void somewhere, too? What if Mobius and the boys decide to go look for her together?

Just… Mobius reuniting with his family, his real family, that family that was affected by the TVA in the same way that he was… there’s a whole sci-fi family adventure movie to be made there. He Who Remains destroyed so much, but this one family survived it all and lived to tell the tale. That’s the ending I really want for Mobius!

Keep rotating a theoretical fic in my mind where our Mobius ends up with the two kids to raise, and introduces Loki to them. However. This is one of the universes where Loki attacked New York, and the boys very quickly realize who he is. They are understandably disconcerted by this (although they trust Mobius too much to be genuinely frightened because this is a very angst!lite fic in my head), and while they are soon awed/delighted/amused by Loki, they decide to keep up the act for a bit, on the Thor-ish child's side because he wants to make sure his Dad's not being overly nice and innocent and putting himself in danger, and the Loki-ish child for initially the same reason; however he very quickly decides Loki's alright but keeps egging his brother on because he thinks making the grownups sweat is very funny. And oh boy is it working. Loki is sweating bullets, puling out all the stops, has never been so desperate for approval as he is from these two small children because how long will Mobius keep around someone who scares his kids?? Mobius is having a less bad time on the whole; he can tell his kids aren't horribly frightened (even if he can't seem to make Loki believe he's not just trying to calm him when he says so), but he sure is on edge. Keeps coming up with new elaborate strategies to facilitate at least baseline civility from his kids towards Loki (he struggles to quiet the nagging fear that if it goes on too long Loki might decide the unpleasantness of engaging with this central part of Mobius' life just isn't worth it). Thinks maybe it'd be best if they give the kids a bit of distance to adjust *cue Loki materializing in the room with a gaming console that won't be out for another month and worryingly realistic wooden swords and three new kid-friendly magic routines and would the kids like to meet his brother's buddy Hogun who can train them with those sw—" Most importantly, Mobius has got to put a stop to this because he's pretty sure that whatever it started as this has developed into his children's scheme to manipulate a god into making them the proud owners of a sailboat and a horse. And it's working.

Honestly even though it's not something I see Mobius wanting in series I'm obsessed from a fic perspective with the thought of him stepping in to take care of the kids perhaps after Don gets taken by the TVA after his nexus event?? Then because he's always been smitten by minor facts like Loki taking over a major US city he doesn't really consider the impact that's had back on the timeline while it's always in the back of Loki's mind, so when it comes time to make introductions Loki assumes any nervousness or hesitation is because of his reputation when in reality Mobius is just worried they'll be upset he's been clearly dating this entire time and didn't say anything 😅

Cue Mobius being pleased the cautious greetings and wide eyed stares being passed back and forth are pretty much the best case scenario here while the kids instantly enter the exact situation you described of cautiously then much, much more boldly testing exactly how dedicated Loki is to their dad, first out of concern then just to push the boundaries of how much cool stuff they can get after realizing how amazing Loki is and how much they like spending time with someone who gets the need for chaos lmao.

(Cue Mobius not being so pleased when the house starts magically expanding like a Tardis to fit increasingly large and at times alarming sentient objects that were definitely not there when he made breakfast and no one's convincing him otherwise but who would want life any other way 🤣)

Oof. I think I've said this before but my favorite fic is always the one I'm currently writing. Like, once a fic is done, I hope it loses my number because it is dead to me.

That being said, I'm really fucking proud of Songs for the Zombie Apocalypse (for a lot of reasons) so I'm going to say that one. And also... Normal Frenemy Shit because it has maybe my favorite Spideypool scene I've ever written in it. And the wound fucking, of course.

3. favorite line/scene that you wrote this year

Man. Okay. Well, I already mentioned the Normal Frenemy Shit scene (the eating on the obligatory rooftop "date" one). The ninth chapter of Hang Me Up to Dry (SFTZA). Annnnd, let's say the closet scene from every star for you because the world needs more wlw smut.

Just wrote? Not published? I mean, I'm not done but I'm definitely over 400k. (Also, I can't believe you always make me share my shame inducing numbers with you.)

12. favorite character to write about this year

Mobius. If you had asked me before I watched Loki, I'm not sure what my answer would have been, but now it's Mobius. I love him as just Some Guy™️ with the dad jokes and swag to capture a god's attention. He's such a compelling character, and so, so different than a lot of the representations of "men who work for authority" we get. He's just the guy that said, "I can fix him" and then actually did. The order to Loki's chaos.

14. a fic you didn't expect to write

A Particular Set of Skills. I really, really didn't want to start a whole other fucking fic for those two, but Black Ace captivated me and it couldn't be helped.

15. something you learned this year

I AM CAPABLE OF WRITING THINGS THAT DON'T END IN ROMANCE. Don't get me wrong, I love romance and am glad to be back in fluff city, but for so long it felt like every fucking thing I wrote ended not just with a happy ending, but with a romantic one. I like happy endings, and I'm not going to cull them from my stories forever, but it's nice to know that I have the skill (now? always?) to write something that isn't (strictly) romance.

Sapphic gothic horror here I come.

I'm going to pick something that so far away from a fandom I would typically participate in. Not because I don't like it, but I just wouldn't come in contact with the source material.

Poison Apple by surveycorpsjean which is a SoapGhost (COD) fic that scratches some of my worst itches. (You recommended it to me so thanks!)

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

Here I was, so proud of myself that I could come up with an answer to the last question, and you hit me again. Is this where I admit that I don't read a lot of fics? 😬 Okay. Okay. No. I have one. I think everyone should read it because it's entertaining as hell (and a super quick read, too!), but I definitely think that writers should read it so they can see just what kind of shit you can do with limited words and only dialogue.

Into, Across and Beyond! Cast: The Prower Kids

Origin: Sonic Archie Comics - 25 Years Later

"Make that twenty! We're gonna help save the land in honour of our parents!" - Melody Prower

"We may not have mom or dad anymore... but I want to do them proud, no matter what. C-Could you help me?" - Skye Prower

Dimension ZONE-YL-2058, a distant future where a lot has changed for the Sonic crew. In this future 25 years on, the least I can mention was a time when Tails and Mina, both married with a family, had moved away to Downunda for some time away. While Sally and her two kids were there to see the family off, concerningly, Sonic didn't spare the time to wish his buddy the best out there.

The kids Tails and Mina had were Melody and Skye Prower respectively. Melody is quite polite and outgoing, and possesses her dad's adventurous spirit. Skye, on the other hand, is pretty shy, like his mom was, especially in large crowds, and though he's inherited some of his dad's intelligence, he lacked experience with machines and computers to put that into practice.

One day, however, tragedy struck. When Mobius was threatened with destruction due to alterations in the time-space continuum, the Tachyon Displacement Chamber was utilised to send someone back in time to get information that would help save the planet. Tails picked up that something was going to happen, so he made a device that would keep Mina and his children safe from being erased and maintain their memories from the old timeline.

But a problem with the system triggered that blasted Melody and Skye, all alone, out of the dimension to fend for themselves as it collapsed and was wiped clean. Skye was clearly heartbroken from losing his parents, and Melody was there to comfort and protect him while they tried to look for a place to be safe at.

During their trek, the two ended up getting separated in different realms, Skye in particular winding up at Dimension BL-2017 where OMT!Tails was at the time (during Cosmic Discoveries). Thanks to this, Skye ended up finding our star protagonist as he was trying to adjust to what he had become; an actual cosmic entity in some form thanks to some of Crimtake's energy mixing with his own.

After a greeting, OMT!Tails was happy to take Skye under his wing while in a bid to help the kid get back home, the two kids unaware of what became of the dimension. During their time together, Tails helped Skye improve his flight capabilities, and even taught him a bit in computing and machines. In a way, those two became like bros during their time spent together.

Skye also took a liking to Blitz!Tails and Blitz!Milla, their care towards him reminding him of his parents. He even imagined the idea of potentially getting adopted by them if they and Melody were okay with it. Once they made the necessary preparations, they headed off to scout for Melody to get the two reunited.

During their quest, Skye crossed paths with Mobiverse Tails, who reminded him a lot of 25YL!Tails from the clothes, despite being a teen version of Tails. That said, MV!Tails was pretty impressed, and even considered the possibility of naming his son Skye when he grew up with his Cream.

OMT!Tails was completely understanding of Skye's shy nature, especially around girls, even though Melody was finding it a bit annoying. Nevertheless, the two were there to stand up for Skye when anyone pointed out any of the kid's flaws. After all, nobody can be truly perfect, not even in a film fic like this one.

Due to Skye not being great with crowds for a bit, OMT!Tails started off letting him meet the Blur Gang gradually, which helped him gradually overcome his shy and timid nature around strangers. To help put trouble right, Skye and Melody allied with the crew as honorary members of the Blur Gang, even if they wouldn't join permanently.

However, the Gang soon learned the hard way that Skye and Melody's home was long gone. As it happened, LM!Sonic, STILL adamant on his ideals of canon events, let that world die in his thoughts that it was meant to happen. He soon revealed a harsh truth; HE vandalised 25YL!Tails's machine in a bid to stop him from tampering with destiny, which indirectly caused the dimension to collapse in on itself. He had also outright abandoned seeing himself as some hero, not caring anymore if lives perished, as long as "the stars aligned".

OMT!Tails, in a tranquil fury fashion, confronted him for that, demanding that he bring that world back, lest he wished literal hell to come down on his world. Tails even threatened to unleash the EXEs, including OMT, into his universe and keep them there to tear it apart if that's what the rogue blue blur appreciated, though Skye cooled him off from that. As a matter of fact, trying to force people to stick to a defined "destiny" could cause catastrophe to occur, and they witnessed it first-hand.

During that clash, OMT!Tails utilised his newfound powers to take on LM!Sonic and give him a lot of pain. However, the moment LM!Sonic had the gall to threaten Skye's life, he brought wrath down upon himself at the hands of both OMT!Tails AND Melody, who were not going to let him harm their brother (surrogate, in OMT!Tails's case). Blitz!Tails was ESPECIALLY in a bad mood seeing one of those he'd grown to care for in danger.

After all was said and done, Skye gave LM!Sonic a harsh scolding, the blur now having nothing to lose due to his actions. And when he made one final attempt to mock Skye for trying to help his newfound companions... that was when he was left to rot in one of his Eggman's old airships, never to see the light of day again. Oh, yeah. And shortly after that, Mobiverse Tails followed through on his promise to erase the fallen hero from existence, due to him expressing intent to do his misdeeds to the Mobiverse as well.

Without their home to go back to, Melody and Skye were now stumped for choices. Thankfully, OMT!Tails and OMT!Mina were more than happy to help them get new friends in the multiverse, and Blitz!Tails and Blitz!Milla welcomed them into their world for a place to live at, even seeing them as their new surrogate kids from the experience. It's definitely been a happy ending for those two after all they went through.

This is my cat. Her everyday name is Good Girl, but her full name (as written on her pedigree) is Good Girls Go to Heaven.

So you can imagine, based on that, how much Meat Loaf’s music means to me. I’m genuinely upset by this loss. I mean yeah, he had deeply problematic political opinions, but in this case I’m happy to separate art from the artist. Bat Out of Hell is one of my favourite albums of all time, ever since I was a child. It’s one of those cases of “your dad played it a lot and you automatically imprinted on it”. I think we owned it on fucking cassette tape? So yeah, his music is intrinsically tied to my childhood.

Rest in peace, Mr. Loaf.

Fanfic Writer 20 Questions!

1. how many works do you have on ao3? A measly 31. But in my defense, I’m ancient, so I have posted at least twice as many on LiveJournal back in the day.

2. what’s your total ao3 word count? 162,236

3. how many fandoms have you written for and what are they? Six are represented on AO3, including a mix of various RPF fandoms, Hannibal, Law and Order: SVU, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and recently Loki. But back in my teenage years I wrote fic in the Lord of the Rings fandom, Harry Potter, and as I got older even more diverse RPF, mostly centered around US political media and, uh... Top Gear. Look, I have a past, okay, leave me alone.

4. what are your top five fics by kudos?

Assemble, a lighthearted, non-graphic-but-still-very-shippy Marvel RPF

As Loud as the Hell You Want, smutty Will Graham/Frederick Chilton

The Ties That Bind, a Barisi soulmate AU

Arrest Me - another Barisi fic, this one smutty

Young Police Cadet Bottoms for Busty Blonde - a Carisi/Amaro (and Carisi/OFC) porn fic where I’m actually super proud of the title. it really sets the tone 😂

5. do you respond to comments? why or why not? Almost always. If you took the time to comment, I will take the time to say thank you. Especially when I get the really juicy comments, like those that quote favourite lines and stuff. I love those comments, they’re so helpful!

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I’m really bad at following through on angst, I wrap that shit up with a vaguely happy ending. That said, Control You is pretty bad. It’s also locked, because I lock RPF religiously. kill them; kill them with fire is technically still a WIP, so it doesn’t count, although it’s some of the angstiest fic I’ve written.

7. do you write crossovers? Not so much these days, but I used to

8. have you ever received hate on a fic? Oh yes, before the US Pundit fandom hid all the RPF away in secret, thoroughly locked LJ communities, there were some pretty ugly instances of hate going around.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind? Ahahaha, yes, I do. 23 of those 31 fics are rated E. And it was the same back on LJ.

10. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know.

11. have you ever had a fic translated? I’ve received requests for a couple of fics to be translated into Russian. I gave my permission, but I have no idea if they followed through with it.

12. have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes. Way back when I was 18 I had a 42 year old BFF from California who shared my brand of absurd humour and we co-wrote a sprawling 20K+ Pundit RPF comedy zombie AU, where we took turns writing the chapters as we went along, playing off what the other person had written in the previous chapter. I was a great experience, like the fic equivalent of improv comedy groups. An entire story based on ‘yes, and...’ as a concept.

13. what’s your all-time favorite ship? I can’t possibly answer that question, I’m a bit of a whore in this respect. I mix and match. Although judging from my AO3 account it’s Chilly/Willy and Barisi, and it’s true that I love those ships.

14. what’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? kill them; kill them with fire probably. It’s a ASOUE Zombie AU with stand-alone chapters focusing on different characters in different locations, but in a vaguely chronological order. Can you tell that I adore zombie AUs? Anyway, I was very proud of this one, because this particular zombie apocalypse is totally “realistic” in-universe. It takes an existing killer-fungus danger and replaces ‘certain death’ being the result of infection with ‘zombies’ being the result. So yes, it’s The Last of Us-style “zombies”. I actually stole the terminology from there as well, because I couldn’t be bothered with creating too much lore. I never care about the actual zombie horror anyway, I care about the human reaction to a deadly crisis.

15. what are your writing strengths? A writer I admired very much in ye olden days once told me that I was good at blending genres and moods organically, in those day it was combinations of action, humour, and smut. She then asked me, me, for advice on a fic. I still think about that every single time I feel down.

16. what are your writing weaknesses? Definitely a tendency for overly detailed, flowery, self-indulgently elaborate prose. I spent years forcing myself to use a plain ‘said’ more often, because God knows I struggled with the concept from the beginning. And commas. So many commas. I often joke that Ernest Hemingway would fucking deck me if he was alive and reading my stuff. Oscar Wilde would you rather discuss writing with? Case closed.

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language? I think it’s fine in controlled doses, especially if you consult native speakers to confirm that google translate isn’t about to make you look really silly to native speakers of the language in question.

18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for? Lord of the Rings, I think? At least in English. I was 14 when the first film came out, so it was around then. It was really bad. English is my second language, and my grammar... left something to be desired. Okay, technically I wrote fic for The Hobbit first, because our teacher was pretty cool when it came to assigning various writing challenges, and in this case he made us all write fanfic that should be a twist on the pretty anticlimactic (according to him) ending of the book. I proceeded to literally kill off half the dwarves in a gruesome Smaug-fight. Very indiscriminately, I might add. Completely random. Just piling up dead, scorched dwarves for shits and giggles.

19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written? Okay, bear with me here, but I’m just really proud of Young Police Cadet Bottoms for Busty Blonde. Probably the smuttiest smut I’ve ever written. I enjoyed every second of the writing process, I had a wonderful time, and it lives up to its title in terms of balls to the wall PWP insanity. A Guide to Recognizing Your Ghosts and Unfortunate Living Arrangements are also up there, because I’m still a Chilton fangirl at heart.

do you miss your dad in a quantitive way? ive recently lost someone close to me and it hurts but you seem to be coping so well even tho its been years

i think a whole lot of it has to do with some of my own illnesses/disabilities (especially autism and SZPD), actually, as well as a severely trauma-ridden life..so i guess the """""""short"""""""" version (literally this fucking essay IS a short rundown) of the deal is this:

not only was i born with a predisposition for emotional scarcity, but also live the damage done by a life so harsh it just drains you of the more basic human emotions. i think that's why i'm so obsessed with math? everything is an equation to me. now, i loved my dad more than anybody on earth, but i don't know what "grief" means since i wasn't equipped with it, i don't think i know what it means to be "sad" (i'm recalling this old journal entry in which i said i was jealous of people who got sad, cuz like their mom died or they had a breakup or put their dog down etc. because my definition of the word "sadness" portrays it as a state of being with an inherent end-point, and good god did i wish i could be sad for that fact alone (i still have that journal, i can post that page or others if anybody wants, it's probably explained better there). the last time i cried was in drug detox like 3 years ago and that was due simply to the physical pain of opiate withdrawal. otherwise i straight up CANNOT cry, it's like i'm physically incapable of it. i think the ability has been taken.

it would make sense to cry over my dad, that exact moment while i was talking to him and felt life exit and soften the hand i was holding; at the moment we were looking each other in the eye and then suddenly..weren't. no tears; the mathematical equation had just been completed- when you become an adult it is the natural progression of things and has been for millennia. it made sense, it added up.

maybe, for weeks to come, it looked to others like i was repressing my Sadness (my WHAT?), that i wasn't letting myself Mourn (umm i don't think anyone ever taught me that ability?) but i'm still like that to this day. personally i just appreciate that i had him as a father, that he cared for me while my mother worked, taking me out for fun little adventures. i love that i had a father who so openly showed his love for me, was affectionate and never closed-off, and also he was brilliant and hilarious. moving on, i appreciate that the remainder of his life post-diagnosis was bright, that he moved in with us, that he and i got to be close again, that he continued with his passions. i hope you can gather past memories/positive facts to be seen through this kind of lens that eases your hurt.

i'm proud that i was the one to take care of him, driving him to and staying around for every single chemo session, sitting up next to his bed where he'd watch me draw in amazement. i'm delighted that the very last thing he felt while still a living human was my hand on his, that the very last thing he ever saw was my smiling face, that the last thing he ever heard was my voice. that's enough for me. i don't understand why i should feel hurt. i have plenty of "oh man i wish my dad could see this drawing!/hear about this stupid thing i did today!/etc but i mean..hey, i wish a lot of things! i wish i lived with mobius in a little house in maine! i wish there weren't so many dirty dishes in the sink right now! i wish my skin didn't get so dry no matter what i do why is it so fucking dry! i don't dwell. maybe the fact that i can't feel sadness and loss and whatever but am still able to feel love and affection work out in this case.

all that being said though, i wouldn't call any of this "coping well"- i just never HAD to cope. and i wanna make sure this doesn't come off as braggy abt how Strong i am or make you feel jealous for how i handled this loss!! like i come on here for people and content and i cuz i think i'm funny but the downside is it can project an inaccurate picture. like even if you've read the worst of the worst about my life and self i've cared to mention here over the years you've still only read the children's edition. if anybody ASKED for a real rundown i'd be totally fine writing that dissertation and pop some pics in for extra fun but i'm not the kind of person who whines all woe is me on their social media as if everyone cares lmao

Father's Day Special

Pairing: Y/N x Avengers Dads

Summary: In honor of father's day I turned my favorite MCU men who are not father's into them.

Loki Laufeyson

Perseus Luka Lokison: 8 years old (oldest twin - 1st born)

La'Luna Frigga Lokidottir: 8 years old (youngest twin - 2nd born)

Arista Nyx Lokidottir: 6 years okd (3rd Born)

Freyja Fae Lokidottir: 3 years old (4th born)

Ceres Vulcan Lokison: 1 month old (5th born)

This magical family is considered "The House of L", Perseus and Luna were both very happily planned out and started out the most perfect journey of a lifetime. Perseus takes after his father in so many ways. They look identical to each other and they share the same type of magic. Sometimes, it’s hard for them to get along but regardless they love each other. Most of the time they bond over books, stories of Loki’s childhood, and Loki teaching him magic. Luna doesn’t lack in magic, but comes the best when she is a frost giant. She can easily switch between her normal pale skin to being a blue ice magic user. Her and her father bond over this quite a lot due to how beautiful he believes she is while like that. Though he won’t admit it to any of them, Luna’s ability to use her magic and look the way he is scared makes him envious and proud. She leans on him for so many things, especially when she’s scared or needs help turning back from being a frost giant/ Then there’s Arista, the mommy’s girl who gets along best with Perseus. She uses her connection to the underworld to conjure up demons, monsters, and spirits of all kinds. She can also use her magic to kill easily, if anyone tries to inflict pain on her she can channel the injury into them. Arista’s body turns halfway into a deadly looking demon with a skull face. The first time this happens it scares Perseus to death, he panics both you and Loki and will not let go of Loki’s hand nor leave his side. When you go check on Arista she is writing out her alphabet just like she was supposed to. She just looks different, and she doesn’t act any different. So, you explain that to Loki and you both take the time to explain to the twins that it’s just something that happens. Like how Luna and Loki turn blue. After that you and Loki agree that’s enough kids, until of course Mobius agrees to watch your 3 kids and things get out of hand between the two of you. This is where the biggest daddies girl of all, Freyja, comes from. She uses basic magic to move things around the room, she can take things from books and put them into real life, and she can phase from one room to another. Anytime she talks it’s to her father, and if it’s not directed at him it’s about him. She is always attached at his hip and will constantly do little things to mess with Loki. Then last but not least is Ceres, dark hair, light eyes, and unlike the rest never quits crying. This is unless you, his mother, walk him around. If you stop or put him down he continues to cry. He is also the only baby to be born a frost giant, which almost killed you due to your body temperature dropping. Overall you are a big happy family, dysfunctional, magical, odd, but happy. You all reside on Midguard in a big beautiful home, and Loki stays working for the TVA.

Thor Odinson

Running with the guardians is not the easiest life to live. There is always bartering, making deals, killing all sorts of creatures, and catching wrong do-ers. But of course you had to take a break when you fell pregnant with a blonde hair, blue eyed little girl who speaks and acts like you. She is incredibly strong, fast, and talented for someone her age. Fleur, once the peak age of 8, helps out fixing things at home and on the ship constantly. She also learns how to shoot a bow and arrow amongst other weapons very early on (she just got attached to that one the most). Then Thor had to take another break to help you take care of Natalia. Another blue eyed, blonde haired baby who acted identically to her father. Though little she can conjure Mjölnir, the first time she did this was on the ship. Quill and Thor decided to show her some of the galaxy when all of a sudden she reached out and the hammer went directly into her hands. All the guardians were in pure shock, so was Thor. But that shock was short lived when she decided to start slamming the hammer into the table in front of her. Though you and Thor were incredibly proud and happy with your daughters, you could tell that there was something in Thor that wanted a son. So without bringing this idea up to him you told him you wanted one more child. You begged to Odin for it to be a boy, and sure enough you ended up with a little boy. This time he looked a lot like you with the blue eyes and blonde hair. He was an incredibly peaceful baby and did nothing but sleep, which concerned the two of you since the girls were loud babies. The older he got the more he acted like Thor, at the ripe age of two he was able to change the weather outside based on his mood. When he was happy it was beautiful, when he would stir there was some snow or hail, but when he was upset a storm flew over the home and lightening would strike everywhere. Thor continues to go with the Guardians and get rewards from those whom they help.

James Barnes

Rebecca Winifred Barnes: 8 years old (1st born)

Grant Howard Barnes: 4 years old (oldest twin - 2nd born)

Anthony Thomas Barnes: 4 years old (youngest twin - 3rd born)

Stephanie Diana Barnes: 8 months old (4th born)

This family did not have a fair start when it comes to beginnings. You were a captive of Hyrdra, due to the fact that on your birth records you just didn't exist. You were listed as a stillborn baby. No one knew you were alive. The only reason you were alive was because of the traces of infinity stones injected into your bones as a baby. So, you were easy to experiment on and use. Therefore you were the head pawn for the project "SOLDAT, WINTER'S CHILDREN". This captivity and abuse was where Rebecca was born, in the winter without any heat. Of course you had to take care of her yourself because Bucky was in absolutely no shape to do so. You kept her and her abilities that you knew she had subdued. You couldn't let them take her away from you. Then you were subjected to more, which is where Grant and Anthony came from. Grant was lucky to survive, being born mostly deaf, much smaller, and sick. Though Bucky was not Bucky and was in no shape to be helpful he would bring you things and try to help you in anyway he could that was not overly empathetic. Then eventually they tried to subject you to the electroshock that they had put Bucky under due to his escape and with your magic you destroyed the building and took your children with you. Rebecca developed abilities in the realm of sound manipulation. She could destroy things, create force fields, and control what people did, thought, and said just with her voice. Anthony could create small forcefields, move things with these small bubbles of energy, and slow down or speed up objects with the energy. Grant wasn't deaf after all, he had super-hearing. He could hear anything and everything from miles away, so you developed him special hearing-aids that could turn up or turn down sound to help him be able to rest and settle down. Grant could also move inhumanly fast and could be inhumanly strong. You raised the three of them for the longest time, until a short haired man and an avenger showed up on your porch. After a lot of talking, meeting, going on dates, meeting the kids, and becoming a solid part of all of your lives, you decide to give Bucky what he seemed to want. A second chance, and he never got a chance to raised any of his other three kids from birth. Which is where little Steph came from, she was a perfect baby. You were jealous at how lucky he got it. She slept carefully, loved to snuggle, ate and burped easy, and never fussed or cried. Grant was incredibly close to James, when he's scared or in public he clings to him. He loves his metal are and never lets go. Anthony is more attached to you, he is always by your side and rarely ever picks James over you. Rebecca loves James and you about evenly. She splits her time and need for different things equally, though she is a bit more attached to you. Stephanie is daddies girl forever, anytime she sees him and he leaves the room she acts out and kicks and reaches until he comes to get her. Her favorite place to sleep is on him and when she's playing shy she prefers do it on him. James continues to work with Sam and eventually S.W.O.R.D, he also goes on to help others get pardoned and help those who were pardoned lead different lives and be better people.

Steve Rogers

Sarah Natasha Rogers: 4 years old (1st born)

Carter James Rogers: newly born (2nd born)

The blip, possibly the worst thing to happen to the world since wars and plagues. As terrible as it all sounds, the world is finally quiet and settled down. You watched and tried to help and Steve struggled with the loss of his teammates and friends. He tried to think of every single way around believing what happened really happened. But eventually, with some convincing you were able to get through to him. He moved out of his little apartment, and took his things from the compound and moved with you out of the city into the more rural area. After settling in for a while you decided to get married, right after that you decided to start a family. Which is where little Sarah came from, she was in your spitting image but with her fathers eyes. She was gorgeous and continued to be gorgeous as she grew up. She had incredible bouts of energy, and constantly wanted to play games, run around outside, do puzzles, draw, paint, and hear stories. She rarely slept and was even born with her eyes open, she never shut them until her body forced her to sleep. Steve enjoyed having a little ball of energy that was so well attached to him. She was always climbing on him, holding his hands, sitting on his lap, and taking naps on him. Sarah helped him overcome the sadness and failure he felt after the war. Then after about 4 years of having Sarah, you fell pregnant with a little boy. Carter, he was Steve's twin and looks and in his attitude. This baby was already stubborn and noisy at random times. He never gave up the screaming or laying how he felt it comfortable (even though it was not safe). Steve continued to council people and help out Nat when she needed it, until Scott showed up on the security cameras.

Doctor Stephen Strange

Antoinette Eugenia Strange: 7 years old (1st born)

Beverly Leda Strange 4 years old (2nd born)

Time is a very valuable thing, and no one knows that better than Stephen Strange. A careful calculated man with a lot of responsibility at his hands at all times. He always saw what was coming and nothing unexpected ever happened. That was until he came to bed one night to you sitting up waiting for him instead of being curled up asleep. Not 9 months later you had Antoinette, a dark haired, dark eyed little girl who was so quiet you forgot that you had her. You had never met a little girl quite like her. She never spoke unless it was something that needed to happen. She cleaned up after herself without being asked at a young age, and never had anything but a neutral-happy look on her face. Unless her father got it out of her, he could make her laugh and smile like children should. The two of them had talks about books, time, and ancient history all the time. For someone so young she was incredibly intelligent. Then later on you had Beverly, though she looked like her older sister she acted completely different. She loved to play with toys and be loud. Hell, she liked to be loud in general, she preferred to be the center of attention. Beverly loved to build things and use technology, it's what she understood. Her and her father got along over science and scientific research. Whenever one daughter was closer to the Stephen the other was closer to you. The two of them did not get along, at least not to you and Stephen's knowledge. That was until one night he went to check on Antoinette and she was missing from her bed. So, he peaked in on Beverly and the two of them had made a fort to fall asleep in. They played together and did different activities together in the same gentle space. Stephen continues to keep track of time and help different people while supporting his family.

Mobius

Andrina Mertle Mobius: 11 years old (1st born)

Atlas Milo Mobius 9 years old (2nd born)

Adella Maria Mobius: 3 years old (3rd born)

Imagine living where time was more confusing than somehow anywhere else. That is the life of Mobius and Y/N, you are not an agent, but rather someone he had gotten close to during a very long variant search. The TVA being there caused your presence to become 'variant', so you were taken in for questioning. When you weren't found guilty of anything Mobius opted to take you in, and that was the start of everything. When you first found out you were pregnant you weren't entirely sure what to do. Especially considering how odd Null-Time worked. You of course were the only one worried about this, up until Andrina was born. She was beautiful, but incredibly sassy from the moment you met her. She refused to sleep, eat when you wanted her to, sleep, or allow you to swaddle her and change her clothes. That sassy and stubborn attitude never ever left her, and that certainly did not make her any nicer to her little brother Atlas. He was a comedian, a bullheaded, sarcastic, and wild little comedian. Atlas consistently picked on everyone in the home including his big sister who did not like putting up with his shit. Mobius constantly has to break up fights between the two of them. This usually ends up with Andrina sitting next to him and or doing something with him, and Atlas doing something with you. This is until the numbers in the house become uneven with Adella. The princess of the house who only behaves well in front of Mobius, not even you. In front of you and the other two children she is loud and destructive. But the moment she sees her father that all changes, and all she wants is to be in his arms. Of course Andrina is able to also pull that card, which gets Mobius both his daughters snuggling with him and constantly behaving in front of him which is good enough to him. At the end of the day full house sleepovers in your shared bed are quite normal. So is talking bad about all of your kids just to end up talking about funny things they've done or how much you love them. Mobius continues to work for the TVA and you and your family live in Null-Time near the TVA Headquarters.

Peter Parker

Mae Mary Parker: 4 years old (1st born)

Benjamin Richard Parker: 2 years old (2nd born)

Having kids young was never something Peter Parker saw himself doing. But, seeing everything now he wouldn't change this for the world. Though he himself was a big kid, it made him an even better and energetic dad. Mae was born in the freezing cold snow, and Peter kept her wrapped in her blanket and put her inside his suit, like how a kangaroo carries it's baby. That was the start of an amazing bond, the two of them were attached at the hip and equally attached to you. They hung upside down together, played video games, played board games, built legos, read comics, watched Peter's home movies that he made on missions, and she watched him do all sorts of science stuff. On movie nights, regular nights, or anytime the three of you sat together to do something you had her in your lap and Peter had you on him. He would always try to braid and fix her hair and she would put bows in his, and then together they would try and fix yours. Then you had Benjamin, Peters identical twin. He looked just like him and was attached to you the way that Mae was attached to Peter. The only difference was Benjamin was very shy toward Peter. Peter tried to get Benjamin to be close to him but it was really hard, him and Mae got along, and Benjamin loved you which left Peter out. Until one day he went on a mission and came back to hear his son yelling "daddy" wanting him. Peter continues to work as an Avenger and works hard with science and technology to better reform the world.

Revised Nutty Fan Theory for Loki: Nuclear Edition

After writing that long-ass post yesterday, then getting a seemingly simple comment from @obiwanobsessed that blew my mind once I thought about it for like 5 minutes, I have to completely redo my predictions.

This one's going under a cut because it's quite a bomb.

The misdirection that Waldron is playing us with concerning Loki and Sylvie is that Loki's been transformed by his love for her because Loki's her mother.

We know this for several reasons:

1) During ep 3, Loki had a moment with Sylvie in the shack when she was trying to enchant him. He said, "What are you doing?" and then she said, "What are YOU doing?" Both of them were aware of the other doing something that we couldn't see but whatever it was, it confused them both.

2) Loki later starts talking about his childhood and mother and asks Sylvie about the same. Sylvie reveals that she knew she was adopted but that she only remembers her mother in flashes. He convinces her to sleep and wakes her up with a jaunty rendition of an Asgardian lullaby. She looks disturbed by this, as if it were stirring a memory.

3) Later again, Loki questions her about how enchantment works. From what she tells him about not being able to create false memories, this must have confirmed that what he saw when she tried to enchant him was real, which I'm theorizing was Sylvie's own fragmented memories of her mother singing that same lullaby to her as a small child. He could have further explored her memories while she slept on the train as well.

4) The nexus event spiked as they both prepared to die and Sylvie touched Loki's arm. I'm guessing he was about to confess that the enchantment worked in a way, and that he's her real mom and he's so proud of her etc etc.

5) This explains the way Loki talks about Sylvie to Mobius in ep 4. He speaks of her glowingly but still says insistently that she's not his girlfriend.

6) When Loki tries to confess to Sylvie in the Time-Keepers' chamber he's nervous and says, "This is new for me" but that he knows they will figure this out because back on Lamentis...then gets cut off as he's pruned. What I believe he was going to say was "When you were trying to enchant me, I saw one of your own memories and realized that it was me singing a lullaby to you that my own mother sang to me...because I'm your mum. But just not yet."

Why do I say he's her mother and not her father or just "parent"? Because Sylvie specifically says she only has fragmented memories of her mother. Dads aren't brought up by Loki in their conversation on the train.

Also, Loki's genderfluidity was promised to be addressed and represented accurately by Waldron, Herron, and Hiddleston. But we haven't seen hide nor hair of it yet, even though Sylvie's presence seemed to address this issue. But if she's Loki's daughter, or even just another Loki variant, that doesn't address our Loki's genderfluidity properly at all.

Waldron has also said that this series shows off Hiddleston's impressive range, which I assumed meant he'd be playing several different Lokis, but he hasn't so far. I think he's only going to play the one Loki, but that Loki will go through major changes in the last two eps and the female version of Loki will be played by Tom Hiddleston himself.

That's pretty awesome and mind-blowing, but the implications of this theory open up a can of worms. First off, Sylvie was intentionally misfiled as a Loki variant. I'm assuming her birth name was Loki Lokisdottir (yeah Loki totally would name his kid that) but the TVA shows her name as Sylvie Laufeydottir. The first name change was Sylvie's doing, but what's the purpose of surname change? It can only be to hide her parents.

What bothers me is that this strongly implies that Loki will go back in time at some point later in the series in order to either start or take over the TVA and create a perfect timeline in which all the events of the series happen so that Sylvie can become who she is and he can finally achieve the destiny he desires. I'm still hoping that one of the reasons future Loki is collecting all the Lokis in one place is so that TVA Loki can become their king, absorb all of their abilities, and become the Uber Loki.

In this scenario the "other Mobius" that people have guessed Renslayer meets with in her office is actually our Mobius from the future, who is running the TVA with future Loki. This does imply that Mobius could be Sylvie's dad, yes.

But this also means that Loki will intentionally make Sylvie and many other people suffer for the sake of this timeline. He's conning the whole universe for his own benefit. It's little comfort that he and Mobius aren't actually killing anyone to do this, just seriously messing with their heads and/or sending them to the "pruned" plane.

Sylvie's childhood flashback showed her playing with valkyrie, dragon, and Fenris toys, so we can surmise that Loki left her with either his brother or Valkyrie some time after the events of Infinity War. Being abandoned by your birth mom so she can create a horrible future for you that will forge you into a warrior? Doing all of it for "your own good"? Honestly, I dunno if that's something Sylvie will be able to forgive.

Loki Episode 5 Response Pt. 2 - The Positive

On to the positive post! I really did enjoy this episode overall, so here’s the stuff I liked/loved:

Hair flip! Only one this time (I believe?), and from a distance (it's when he first stands up in the Void) but glad to see we're keeping with the pattern.

I LOVED Classic Loki and Kid Loki! I had more or less zero expectations regarding them - didn't expect to like them or dislike them - so I was pleasantly surprised to have pretty strong positive feelings for both of them! Both had emotional stories and Classic Loki's sacrifice at the end was really well done. It was interesting how even though he was dressed so ridiculously, I almost found myself forgetting about that? Or at least not really noticing, because the character was so good and the narrative never used the outfit for comedy. I also have a lot of feelings about Kid Loki and Classic Loki's dynamic, thanks to this meta.

And obviously Gator Loki is glorious and I stan him for all eternity.

I have...a lot of feels about Loki calling the other Lokis monsters. Can I articulate said feels? Not really, but just know I have a LOT of them. I also just like his face in this shot - very lost, very sad, (very good lighting), 10/10.

MOBIUS YESSSSS. Loved him showing up in the car, and - "You should be careful jumping into a stranger's car like that" - lmao he is such a DAD

I know the TVA is obviously being framed as the bad guys now, but I appreciate the continued verbal acknowledgement with what Sylvie said about annihilating realities and orphaning little girls, and Mobuis' apology to her. And also, his statement about thinking the ends justified the means - even from episode one, Mobius stuck me as someone who was brainwashed and stuck in an ends-justify-the-means mentality/echo chamber, and who would do the right thing once he got out of it (which is why I found myself liking him even at the beginning, despite some of his actions early in the series) so it was nice to have that confirmed. And this just now occurred to me, but I'm wondering if my sympathy for Mobius early on has something to do with my conservative Christian upbringing and eventual complete belief change, and maybe I relate to Mobius on some level? I wasn't part of a cult like the TVA, and it was stuff like homophobia instead of murder, but still...huh, I might have to think more on that one lol.

I'm actually feeling moderately ok with the romance - better about it than last episode, for sure. I'd still much, much rather it be platonic...but they're just so cute, is the thing. Whether in a romantic or platonic context, I'm always a sucker for the trope of two emotionally closed off characters being soft with each other. And they're both just so awkward but really sweet at the same time, and neither of them are very skilled at this friend thing but they're really trying, and it's cute. I was terrified they were going to kiss (as many of us were lol) but the story really didn't go too hard on the romance this episode - it caught me off guard in episode 4 and seemed so out of the blue and sudden, but now they’ve slowed it down and just kind of focused on the general bond between the two (with some romantic undertones as well, though I think even those could potentially be read as platonic). So yeah it still depends on how they handle a next episode, but at this point I'm pretty ok with it, and it's starting to feel slightly more earned. Do I wish all that awkwardness and cuteness was centered around being friends instead of potential romantic partners? Hell yes I do. But the two of them are still cute together regardless of whether it's romantic or platonic - and I guess it is actually centered around friendship either way, because the romance is at least starting with a friendship foundation? Even if they do go full romance with it (likely) they're at least also friends - and that's something a lot of couples lack so that's definitely refreshing. So I guess my tl;dr on the romance is: I wish Loki's heart-eyes were platonic heart-eyes but either way the heart-eyes are pretty damn adorable.

LOKI WITH A BLANKET. Listen, do you - do you know - do you have any idea - how long and how desperately I've wanted to see Loki wrapped up in a blanket? A thing I once thought would only ever be in fanfic?? Yet here it is, right before my eyes, on my very own screen???? I'll never be over it. I cannot stand how cute he is. LOOK.

Although I must say, I am with Sylvie here - Loki should up his blanket-conjuring game just a little and conjure something fluffier next time. (Also @thelightofthingshopedfor posted some good meta on it being green.)

I loved the “burn it [the TVA] to the ground” and “thanks for the spark” lines. AND THE HUG!!! Talk about things I've been wanting to see for a very, very long time. Loki tearing up was great, always love that, and just...yeah. No words, only feels.

I liked that Loki was taking charge more in this episode and actually had a plan. While I didn't love that Sylvie ended up having the better plan, Loki definitely had more of a purpose in this episode than in the others. Besides, it was really beautiful at the end when they enchanted Alioth together (I’m proud!!), and it's possible Slyvie saying "we're the same" was meant to contradict Loki's line near the beginning about how Sylvie's different than all the other Loki's? I couldn't tell if that was intentional or not, but I think it was?

Anyway, I loved this episode overall! In a lot of ways I liked the tone and comedic moments better, I am extremely proud of my son, and I’m excited/terrified for the final episode.
