so I’ve borrowed a japanese grammar book written in norwegian and I was wondering if it would be worth it if I made a post here about every lesson/chapter?
like it would obviously be worth it for me, but would it be interesting for anyone else?

Why are the Norwegian dub and sub so different from each other for Frozen 2? It’s not all about space.

45-46/100 days of productivity | 9-10/12/2023
car stopped working at the gas station yesterday morning, so that was a fun experience. we got that fixed. anyway, i'm thinking of making it a routine to go read in a cafe in the mornings, rather than just doing it on a whim. norwegian wood is getting to me.

I was looking for signs of spring but I only found wintery grey and muddy puddles. please 4 minutes of winter sun, save me... at least my new hat provides some whimsy <:)
mary oliver activities as of late:
went to the park to look for flowers
watched a bunch of ducks
delighted when I found a bunch of crocus leaves
vowed to go back every day to check (went to check today! ...no blossoms yet)
stood with my face turned towards the sun for a few minutes whenever I could
watched a squirrel be cute (their paws?? adorbs!)
delighted by watching the blue little birds in the yard (they look tiny)
wrapping up: nie, nie, nie - linn strømsborg, 5☆
up next: the shadow cabinet - juno dawson

Language Logs 10/16-10/22
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Started using language logs last week to figure out what I'm slacking in for each of my target languages, and shocked on multiple counts. First, that I have such comprehensive resources for Arabic and Italian, but not at all for Norwegian or French.
I've also been trying out different schedules to maintain four languages at the same time. So right now, I'm trying to practice having one day a week be focused on one language. Currently, that's Monday for Arabic, Tuesday for French, Wednesday for Norwegian, and Thursday for Italian. Then, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I was planning on using to patch up any holes I see in these logs, which I didn't really have time for this weekend oops...
Going to continue with this for another week or so to see if it genuinely helps and if it doesn't I'll be moving on to a different strategy.
All the love to @nordic-language-love for creating these awesome tools! Here is the post where I first read about them and there’s some awesome encouragement and tips on there.
Good look on everyone's language learning journeys!!!!

Hei!
I graduated, just got my diploma, and I feel like it's time to pull myself together. I've been drifting in the void for a few weeks and resting wondering what's next, but it's time to start a productive time...
I will try to reactivate my 100 days of productivity challenge, but I will write a separate post about it, starting it. So far my goal is to make a great portfolio, intensively learning Norwegian, daily yoga and daily drawing. I will start looking for a job in November or December. I'm taking my time, because I've already come across a terrible place that exploits young people and their energy.
I'm starting my new bullet journal and reaching my goals!

introduction
I've made a new language account after losing access to my old one, so I figured an introduction would be a good start
about me:
-sky, he/they (not my real name, but ya know)
-20 y/o
-learning Japanese
-native Norwegian speaker, by no means a teacher, but definitely willing to help you out :)
interests:
-dogs !!
-art (drawing, crocheting, sewing)
-games (stardew valley, the sims, minecraft are constant interests, other games come and go)
how my blog will work:
-I'll make lists of vocabulary as I learn, with sentences to help learn
-most likely I will add a link to a Memrise course I've made with the sentences for practice
-all of my vocab/sentences posts will be tagged #skyjapanese !
-other people's language posts will be tagged #otherjapanese
-like mentioned, I speak Norwegian, and I'll be happy to make vocabulary lists if requested. I'll try my hardest to make them learner friendly
my ask box will pretty much always be open /pos
feel free to DM or send an ask if you'd like to talk/practice Japanese together :)

5/100 days of productivity | 18/10/2023
started norwegian wood today, and i'm reminded of how much i love murakami's works. but on the note of actual productivity; i made something of a draft / study plan for neuroanatomy and studied a bit. trying to get the feel for it again; who knew that it takes so little time to lose focus? i hope to catch up with histology 2.0 over the weekend, too. fingers crossed.

Language Logs 10/23-10/29
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Week two of my language logs and trying out the one language per day method! I'm getting more comfortable with pouring all of my attention into a singular language, so I think I might stick with this method. The one issue is that certain languages only get one day to shine (i.e. Italian), but these logs are super helpful in letting me realize what I need to be focusing on!
This weekend I did pretty well with practicing each language (poor Italian), but I still missed the speaking square for Norwegian. Also another update, I filled the entire column in French! Last week I was shocked to realize my resources weren't comprehensive enough, but I started an audio journal to force myself to speak and write, and now it's all filled in.
Once again, these are not of my own creation, so all props to this post for introducing me to them!
