Marvel's looks

So you know how it is at least an older canon established that Billy as Marvel looks like his dad or at least what he remembers his dad to look like? I personally lean into a second option of how he remembers his dad because it makes it more interesting plus it helps with the whole awkwardness of him looking like a semi-random or completely random (depends what canon you're going for) dead dude.

So here's the differences I see Billy as Captain having compared to his dad or things that come from his dad's little quirks!

Height: Billy remembers his dad as being massive because he himself was a tiny baby boy. So yeah. Marvel isn't a walking 6'4" feet tall dude because that's his "peak" or whatever but that's how tall comparatively Billy's dad looked like to him at when he was like 4 vs 8 years old.

Build: CC was the strongest man Billy has ever known. He could lift all of them: his mom, his sister and him; proudly proclaiming he is holding his entire universe in his arms. So naturally he was super strong which called for super muscles! So that's why Marvel is build like a tank while CC most likely had a healthy amount muscles from excavating and such but nowhere as much as Marvel and unlike Marvel would've also had a solid amount of extra squish too (we stand dad bods, lmao).

Cleanliness: You know how a decent amount of people have Marvel have a neat self-cleaning option that just comes with the magic form? I personally like the perpetually perfect hairstyle from one of the fanfics I read that joked about it. Even if this might not be something I'll always use to it's maximum extend. Either way. I like to think that the cleanliness of Captain Marvel comes from the fact that CC liked to be overall clean and put together when seeing people or generally outside around the public and generally portray himself as professional: as in wearing full business in casual business because he likes the feeling wearing a suit gives him (Yeah, I see CC to be a weirdo actually enjoying suits and his wife finds it to be an extremely adorable quirk she loves because they both get to be the dressed to the nines couple!)

Face: OK so this one is going to have a bit of sub bits here because I gave CC glasses. I know when he is shown he usually doesn't have them but I have a reason for it and I'll get to it:

4.1. Nose: The shape is different from CC's simply because glasses hide a decent portion of the nose bridge depending on what sort of glasses you get. But generally the bridge would be a bit larger for Marvel.

4.2. Eyes: So you know how in older depictions of Marvel he always squints? You know when people also squint? When they're trying to see better! So yeah for me Marvel has a perpetual squint because he doesn't wear glasses unlike his dad. Who, whenever he took them off, also squinted to see (sometimes exaggerating it to make his kids laugh). So Marvel's form subconsciously squints since there's no glasses on his nose. lol.

4.3. Also eyes: Additionally since CC wears glasses and squints when he takes them off, his vision has to be decently bad. You know what happens when you wear strong glasses? They warp your face. So additionally Marvel has smaller eyes then CC would've had. :P

So yeah that's all I have for now but might edit it if I ever come up with more things like that. If you like the concept feel free to either use it or add to it. This is all a complete fanon. It's for complete funnsies. But I would still like to hear what you think about it!

Cultural reset...

These are just my own opinions and I think it's time I address this.

I had to google "cultural reset" to make sure I was using the term properly. New Google AI Overview says:

A cultural reset is when something significant in popular culture changes or is added, causing people to change the way they view things or to have a lot of people hop on the trend. For example, in K-pop, a cultural reset is a song that is very influential, usually one that gets pretty popular and many people love. It has a lot of influence over the K-pop fandom, and gets a lot of attention.

I did not ask Google AI Overview to specifically give me an example in K-pop. That's just my browsing history telling Google AI Overview that this bitch is obsessed... scary right?

(But I'm a little miffed that Google AI Overview generalized my BTS browsing history as K-pop because I don't look at or search up other K-pop artists. I am BTS only.)

Anyway, thank you Google AI Overview. Actually, I was more interested in styling concepts that are a cultural reset.

Let's stop stalling and just get into it.

I know none of us knew what to do with this Jimin when the photo folios dropped:

Definitely a cultural reset in my opinion.

We had never seen a Jimin like that before. Only in our fanfic-AI generated images imaginations had we ever thought...I don't think AI images was even a thing when this Jimin dropped on us.

Does anyone else have the urge to smooth the wrinkles and creases out of those pants for him? No? Just me? Ok.

Photo folio-black lace up leather gloved-patent leather panted-big chain belted-horny mask Jimin was a cultural reset for me and for many of us. The gloves really put it over the top. We'll never go back. He's covered from neck to foot except for a few slivers of skin. It's wild. It's just a smooth arm pit. Ok, before I run off the rails here... what was I saying? Oh yeah.

Also a cultural reset for me:

Every time I see this come up on my Youtube I watch it because it deserves all the views. Even the soundtrack was perfect.

I know Dora-the-Explorer haired Jungkook is not the favorite of some but I absolutely adore it... wait... sorry. There's a word there that I'm striking from my regular vocabulary from now on. Reasons.

This Jungkook was a cultural reset for me. He's never looked like this before and hasn't since in any concept photos. This was brilliant styling, I don't know if it was JK's regular stylist or if a Calvin Klein stylist did it but it was pure art.

He played that camera until the camera wilted, I just know it. I hope he grows his hair out long again when he's back with us.

And no shoulder booboo. I wonder when the shoulder booboo incident happened and I wonder if we'll ever hear the details.

While I'm talking about cultural resets, I have an honorable mention:

Not just this visual but the song too. PJM2 is coming. I feel another cultural reset coming.

Talking to my partner in crime the other day and I think a meeting DID occur where they detailed out a timeline for Project Naked Bangtan. Because they weren't going to go full frontal on us cold turkey. (Somehow all those words together sound hideous but you get my meaning.)

Regardless of Tae and his proclamation that "Chapter 2 isn't about us taking off our shirts" it is about showing a more mature side of themselves which inevitably is going to lead to showing some skin and some cuss words. Little did we know.

I can imagine how it went down in the brainstorm meeting of them trying to come up with content to fill in the time until they are all discharged...on a whiteboard possibly... because some of us are visual learners... someone drew a timeline of nakedness, possibly for each member.

I can hear it now:

RM: "We have to ease them into it. Who's first?"

Jin: "Hyung will do it." LMAO

i drew the sbg characters if they were in my comics magic system heres a long post talking about their abilities

i somehow did doodles of all of them in one day lol. THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY LONG POST BE CAREFUL ABOUT CLICKING READ MORE THIS IS JUST ME YAPPING ABOUT MY COMIC AND ABOUT SBG

ok so the magic system of my comic is basically this: your eye color aligns with a “concept”, and each concept turns into a very unique super power for each individual. it can be anything, as long as it fits the concept. literal or metaphorical. i designed this power system to be very vague so you can be super creative

ill explain each concept as i go down, but i basically switched the sbg cast with my cast, so all of them are called “duo ranked” and have heterochronmia, and their concepts have mixed together to create a new, entirely unique power that fits both concepts in its own creative way.

i also kept one color for every character except for aiden. i kept his red eye, because if i didnt i would be doing FOUR BROWN RANKS and i want to show off this system so ill only do 3 lmao

heres how it went:

starting off with ashlyn, her ability came pretty easy. i kept her green eye(the concept of growth) and gave her a white eye(the concept of enhancement(typically of ones own values or senses)), and they mixed together to give her control over sound, more specifically its volume and frequencies

its very useful for her, she avoids being overwhelmed way easier now and can switch off whatever is bugging her if it gets too loud. coincidentally, eavesdropping is INCREDIBLY easy, since she can just turn up a specific conversation she wants to listen in on. and she can manipulate frequencies so she makes tyler voicecrack all the time because its really funny. very simple power and its perfect for ash. her drawing turned out okay, i kinda rushed them all just to have them done dont expect high quality

I had a VERY fun time coming up with aidens power. he has his red eye(the concept of creation(self explanatory)) and i gave him a purple eye (the concept of perception, like illusions and such) and the two mixed together to allow him to turn duplicate illusions into reality (if he has enough strength to do so). he can create illusions that are specifically duplicates of objects, and they are only temporary for the time being until he actually ‘creates’ it, then of course it just permanently exists. he is limited to only a single duplicate, and one at a time. actually creating something is very draining

the only human duplicate he can make that will function correctly is himself, and he cannot make it more than a temporary illusion. he can make decoy human illusions, but he cannot make them real.

i had a lot of fun trying to draw his stupid hair it was good practice, im very happy with his drawing

next is tyler!! i put “pursuance” in the drawing because i never know how to describe it but tracking or pursual(is that a word??) is a better word i guess?? its in the works

I kept his brown eye(the concept of pursuit(being able to track things basically)) and gave him an orange eye (the concept of healing) and i gave him a pretty literal power of being able to track how far along the healing process an individual is. in turn, this also gives him the ability to sense when someone around him is hurt.

also, since he can track the healing journey, physically touching him will speed it up ever so slightly. if you have a stomach ache just go hug tyler and eventually you’ll feel better

now for possibly my favorite ability, TAYLOR :D! (featuring me forgetting the word pursuit exists and just putting ‘persual’ which may not be a WORD google LIED TO ME HELP DONT LOOK AT IT

ANYWAY just like tyler i kept her brown eye, and then i gave her a pink eye (the concept of connection), which gave me the idea of her being like tylers opposite. i wanted their powers to reflect each other, so where tyler can track physical injuries and how they heal, taylor can ‘connect’ with others and sense their mood and how it has recently been. almost like a graph!! sometimes she accidentally does it and gets overwhelmed trying to keep track of other peoples moods when she isnt prepared to handle it.

and just like tyler, physical touch from taylor will make you happy and calm (hugging taylor does that anyway) so she is like that scene in big hero six where they all lay on baymax because hes very warm and i love her

I HAVE NEVER DRAWN HAIR LIKE BEN PLEASE DONT ASK I DID MY BEST ON THESE LIYTLE DODLES

anyway

for the last time i kept bens brown eye because why does everyone have brown eyes, and then i also gave him white because i got a really really funny idea ok.

ben can track movement of people around him specifically, and he can enhance his own power. if he enhances it enough for one person, he can predict what their course of movement is about to be. its very immediate, so when hes trying to process it the action could very much already be happening. its very useful actually!!!

ITS TIME FOR MY FAVORITE ABILITY RAJGEJR FINALLY NO MORE BROWN ABILITIES

I kept logans blue eye (the concept of movement) and i gave him yellow (the concept of light) because yk yk hes a dlorist photosynthesis WHATEVER

he can basically control the movement of anything in bright light. the control on it he has depends on how bright the light is, so he finds it useful to keep a flashlight on him

not really unique but maybe some kind of actors/movie star au where max and charles are the two it boys of hollywood and therefore have always been pitted against each other as rivals. however, they’re casted together in a movie with an esteemed director that neither want to refuse. then they fall in love woopty doo !!

firstly it's not your job to make the concept unique! that's on me baby! so don't stress about it, and I love this idea!!

also... this one got so long haha

ok so to keep the past tension, for sure they were on like. a Disney channel show together growing up. pit against each other like Zendaya and Bella Thorne.

they were playing best friends and had amazing chemistry, but secretly couldn't stand each other. Max is definitely a repo baby, whereas Charles is so pretty he gets a lot of opportunities. they both resent each other because of it: Charles thinks Max gets everything because of his dad, whereas Max thinks Charles get everything because he's pretty.

eventually they have a big fight on set, and the show gets shut down because of it. maybe they get physical - maybe they just refuse to work with each other anymore

Max is the first one to rebuild his image - he works and works on as many movies as he can, trying to only be in Serious Dramas so people know he's a Real Actor

whereas Charles kind of disappears from acting for a while and instead turns to modelling

cut forward, they're both very successful in their fields. Max already has an Oscar, whereas Charles is getting brand deal after brand deal

and then, like, Scorsese or Greta Gerwig or somebody incredible goes to Charles and pitches a movie to him

some kind of really angsty, dramatic, gay love story set on the Italian coastline (heh heh, just because I think I'm funny, let's make the movie be based on Give Me That Fire lmao) (even though that was set in London) (lets make it GMTF but set in a restaurant on the Italian coastline lol)

anyway so Charles turns them down at first and says he doesn't act anymore, but Greta Gerwig is like, "No, I want you in this part, and you can have first pick of your co-star."

So Charles, "I want Max."

Max is tentative at first, doesn't want to work with Charles, but Gerwig says that Charles picked him and so Max ends up agreeing

it's super awkward between them at first, so they end up having to do some bonding exercises to try and ease the tension, and while they do it they apologise to each other for their behaviour as kids and congratulate each other on their successes

filming is much smoother from there, and Charles and Max end up admiring each other's skill

Charles appreciates how hard Max works, and how much more he achieved that his than his father, while Max is impressed with how good Charles still is even though he hasn't acted in years

they end up kind of being like ... "Hey, you're not too bad?" and spending a lot of time together outside of filming

maybe Charles spends a couple nights in Max's hotel room

they film that really intimate sex scene from GMTF and afterwards they're both so emotionally spent but also a little turned on from the tension and the kissing, even though its a Film Set and they're not actually that sexy to film

Max absolutely falls in love first - he realises what he's feeling for Charles, and pines hopelessly from a distance

meanwhile Charles is terrified of being Known and Knowing Somebody, and he can't let himself fall in love

but Max is so sweet and charming and the more time they spend together they more he realises just how wrong he's always been about Max

anyway, by the end of filming they're both hopelessly in love but neither have admitted it

they part ways, Charles going back to modelling, Max moving on to his next movie, and then they're reunited for the press tour

they end up confessing their feelings during the tour and having an intense affair, but at the end of it they decide to go their seperate ways because of how busy they both are ... though obviously neither of them actually want to seperate. they just think the other person does.

anyway the movie comes out and everybody loves it, they praise their acting and the range of emotions Charles showed and how well Max embodied this lonely chef and the chemistry the two of them had and how well it told the story of these people who had been in love and who's relationship had fallen apart, but then who had wanted to try again anyway despite it (yeah obvi it's a metaphor for Charles and Max's relationship in this universe too haha)

it ends up getting nominated for a bunch of Oscars, and Max gets nommed for best actor and Charles for best supporting actor

idk if Max wins but Charles definitely does

and at the after party they find each other and it's just inevitable, really, that they'd kiss again

anyway from there they'd basically just make it work, because they admit they're in love and want to give it a go, so they do

Max keeps acting, and Charles gets to choose between modelling and acting, whatever he wants. idk exactly how it would end aside from them being very happy!

☆ junhui.

the sky has already quietly settled in the darkness when you leave your office, and you sigh as you look at the time, 10:30 pm and junhui’s text that you couldn’t answer until almost 2 hours later, courtesy of your boss assigning you work at the last minute on the presentation you gave him.

the same route was the one you took in the morning, humming to yourself about the fact tht tonight would just be you and junhui, he was going to be home after so long, and this had to be the exact day it happened.

you’d texted him back as soon as you could. “i’ll be a little late,” little? you wanted to laugh at yourself, you’d planned on getting out at 7:30 almost. the message you sent was still delivered, so you figured junhui was already asleep. but even if he was asleep, the aspect of having him home was enough to make you giddy.

when you open the door, you peek your head in, trying to check where he is, the home is already smelling like the new cologne he’s trying.

“jun?” you call out in a low tone, not sure if he’s awake or not, and wanting him to sty asleep if he is.

and sure enough, he’s sprawled out on the sofa, the television still on, and his phone in his hand, it sure is a cute sight but it almost brings you to tears, you missed him so much. the house that felt so empty, and the silence that seemed to be killing you was just gone, in the matter of hours. you resist the urge to hug him and instead check for something to eat, and clean up, all so quickly because you can’t miss even a minute more of being curled up next to your boyfriend.

and you do so, snuggling up yourself close to his chest and spreading a comforter you borrowed from the bedroom, you’re afraid of waking him up but he shows absolutely no signs of being disturbed, and as you sleep next to him, you drift off as well, with his presence unknowingly taking away all your stress.

you can swear you had the curtains drawn when you fell asleep last night but you were so tired and happy at the same time that some things were bound to be missed.

so you wake up to the sunlight harshly pouring in from the windows, thankfully, junhui’s face is away from it.

you stroke his face, admiring the features and then, unable to resist, press a kiss to his lips and then lie on his side again, this time with a huge grin on your face.

as expected, his eyes flutter open, “good morning to you too,”

“you’re up,” you can’t help but squeal as you wrap yourself around him tightly, he chuckles.

“i missed you so much, angel,” he says.

“i’m sorry for missing dinner last night,” you apologise, “boss made me work late,”

“should i just go kill him?” jun teases, but when you give him a horrified look, he quickly takes it back, “just kidding, baby,”

you decide it’s time to wake up when you realize that you’re hungry, “what do you want to eat?”

jun sits beside you. “i’m gonna make you something, sit back down, just tell me what you want,”

“jun, it’s my turn!”

“it’s mine actually, i want to cook, please let me cook for you,”

☆ hoshi.

one of the most endearing things about hoshi is probably the fact that he practically has a sixth sense when it comes to the people he loves, it could even be deduced as intuition.

because when you’re working for far too long, sitting on your chair, craning your neck that is sure to be painful when you finally rest, tensed jaw and all, hoshi presents a bottle of water and doesn’t leave until you’ve assured him of the fact that you’re actually not a robot and do depend on hydration.

today’s one of those days, when you’re so focused on work, and now hoshi knows its because the deadline of this project is fast approaching but you shouldn’t be so harsh on yourself, so every once in 2 hours almost, he sits beside you on your table and forces you to move around, drink something, eat something, look at something that’s not your screen (him, yes,). but just not push yourself unhealthily.

you turn your chair around, and face him. “i really need to finish-“

“and you will,” he completes your sentence. sometimes you were surprised about the amount of faith he had in you, even you didn’t trust yourself like that.

“i will,” you repeat after him. and you did admit, it helped so much with these little breaks because otherwise your brain tired you out with thoughts like, “will i even be able to finish this at all,?” “will they like it?” “what if they don’t like it?” so it was nice to just not think about the situation at hand and instead realize that there was a lot to life even without your work.

hoshi gives you a smile, and he glances at his watch, “okay,” he bows, “i’ll go now but i’ll be back by 4,” you stop him by holding his hand, and reach up to him to kiss his lips.

he’s sweetly surprised by your gesture, but he smiles against your lips. “hey, what’s up?” he whispers.

“i feel like i can’t express it very well , so i just want you to know i love you,”

“i know, baby,” he kisses your forehead, his hand on the nape of your neck.

☆ wonwoo.

you were tired of the day, it was already about 8 pm as you looked at your watch and sigh, it had been such a long week. the train was full of people like you, exhausted as their faces betrayed but they did their best to distract themselves. there was a lot you'd got done this week but the thought of another week was dreadful, the mere idea that you'd be here at the same time next week thinking about almost the same things as today.

entering the password slowly, you remove your shoes and place them neatly in the rack.

there’s little liveliness in the home, but you can hear the sound of dishes and drawers, and the presence of someone moving around. but you hated the fact that you were too tired to even talk to him for now, so you rest yourself on the couch, spreading yourself to sit as comfortably as possible.

and you don't know when you doze off, all you remember is gentle hands taking away the bag you had in your hands and stroking your face.

“i didn't realize you were home, i'm sorry,” wonwoo's voice is so soothing, you wish you could just listen to him speak as you sleep.

the smell was too goo to give up on and you nod.

“should i help you with this?” he gestures to your face.

you shake your head, the power nap had energized you enough to get up and get dressed in your night clothes.

and when you come into the kitchen after changing, you feel a smile making its way on your face as you look at wonwoo, passionately setting up the table, he's way too much into it.

he gives you a smile too, before enveloping you in a hug, “long day?” you nod into his chest.

he has his fingers running through your hair. “come eat, you'll feel better,” he whispers quietly.

and the sudden existential crisis that hit you on the bus is slowly evaporating - one day at a time, and at least you had about two days to relax, you can think of monday on monday. maybe quit the job, find something new. you were convinced you could do just about anything if you had this at the end of the day, wonwoo with you, by your side.

later, when your eyes are fluttering shut almost, after you've told him all about your stressful day, he's telling you little anecdotes about his, small incidents he knows you would be interested and you nod, registering and smiling a bit when he mentions hoshi and woozi's bickering, or the members bullying mingyu once again.

you drift off again, safely snuggled up in his arms. and he smiles to himself, he's sleepy himself so it doesn't take much convincing for him to shut his eyes himself

something not a lot of people know about him is the fact that woozi’s very glad to be home. there were times when he thought that he would never ever have something that he could ever priortise over his work.

but when he locks the door on his way in, he sees it, lying on the couch, drool escaping your lips, and the tv is playing something you were definitely not watching. you’re hunched over the armrest for a make-shift pillow as you sleep and on the table beside the sofa is your empty dinner plate.

while normally woozi would be disappointed that you’re not taking better care of yourself if you get this exhausted throughout the day, today he was in a particularly good mood, because he, after the last few arguments you’ve had with him, has begun to put himself in your shoes, because you were right.

sometimes he did get a little too arrogant during arguments and refused to acknowledge his own mistake. when he looked at it from your perspective, he understood. and all these days, instead of trying to make it up to you, what he’d been doing was running from confrontation, running to work in the morning and right now, running right to go to sleep. but he’d thought about it, if it went on like this, you were sure to leave and just the thought was miserable enough to send his whole behavior into an entire change.

so today, instead of his usual routine of dumping the dinner plate in the sink and heading off to change into his bed-clothes (don’t blame him, he’s too tired to shower), he walks over to the living room, his heart slightly melting over looking at you sleep, and he gently brushes your hair away from your face.

“darling,”

you wake up slowly, mentally groaning over the fact that you slept on the sofa again, but you couldn’t see the sunshine seeping in through the curtains, what time was it?

“come sleep on the bed,” he sits on the edge of the sofa.

how has he changed? it wasn’t the expression you’d expect from the man who’d been avoiding you all week.

he looks down to his hands when you look at him, ouzzled.

“i know i messed up, i’m sorry,”

and then he turns to you. “i just.. thought about how i could end up losing you over this petty thing and i can’t imagine that. so i’m sorry i was a jerk to you, but i promise i’ll try my best to work on my flaws.”

“it’s okay, you’re here, it’s okay.” you throw your arms around him at that. “you weren’t going to lose me or anything, jihoon, by the way. we’re way in too deep for me to just leave because of that, but i’m glad you realized your mistake,”

“let’s go to bed now?”

Ok now that I’m fully awake. It’s time try and organize my thoughts on that audio oh my god.

That’s actually the first thing I wanna talk about, and is the only gripe I have with the entire video. Why the fuck wasn’t mentions of suicide tagged in the description??

Like I understand the concept wasn’t dwelled on and Sam didn’t outright say “I’m gonna fucking kill myself” but he PRETTY EXPLICITLY talked about how he planned to commit suicide even if he didn’t say those words. idk “chosen morality” doesn’t seem like the right warning for that? I’m not gonna complain abt it like too much, I just was a little confused on why it wasn’t tagged.

But anyways onto my jumbled up thoughts about the actual audio! Because as a member of the Sam Collins fandom, I have thoughttsssssss!!

THIS AUDIO MADE ME SOB! I couldn’t sleep because of how sad I was over it. Sam and Darlin need to be happy just for fucking ONCE, god give them a BREAKKKKKK.

The idea of them just silently holding each other on their roof with the night sky above them, a few tears probably falling from both of them. IM DUHXSJDIJFDJFHFHJ

AND MOTHERFUCKER THE VIDEO ENDING ON “Brown. My eyes were brown” I FELL TO THE FLOOR SHUT THE FUCK UP!

On a happier note about that, I KNEW Sam’s eyes were brown. I feel like almost everyone did tbh. I’ll tell you what gave it away though, the gentle way he says “please” to Darlin in some of his audios. Automatically gave it away that he would have had the biggest brown puppy dog eyes you have ever seen in your life. I’m physically sick over it, it’s not even funny.

Now back to the thing I desperately don’t wanna think about. Sam telling Darlin that he wasn’t planning on living forever.

That’s where the dam broke for me, I started bawling. It totally makes sense, I get it and I can’t say that it’s not a choice that makes sense given that Sam never wanted to be a vampire in the first place.

Do y’all think that he was planning to watch the sunrise on his roof? Because that was my first thought and it hurt real bad. Sam finally getting to feel the sunlight after so many years of having been deprived of it, only to be ash when the sun was fully in the sky.

Also I know damn well he probably would have done it after Darlin died and that’s what hurts so bad. If Darlin chose to be a vampire I think he would happily spend however long their eternity would be by their side, but once they were gone he probably wouldn’t feel a reason to stay. Especially because if Darlin turned into a vampire the two of them probably would have completely pulled away from all mortals before that would happen.

On that note, I don’t think Darlin is gonna want to be turned. I never really thought they would, unless they were under very specific circumstances. Sam telling them to spend time in their wolf form and with their pack before deciding solidified that for me 100%. I don’t think they would be able to lose their wolf which we know is a pretty big part of shifters, talking from Milo’s audio where he breaks down worried he was never going to be able to shift again. I don’t think they would be okay with the idea of watching their friends, and their family all start to wither away and eventually die while they remain.

Now, do I think Darlin is going to want to be turned? No. Do I think the dynamic of Darlin choosing to remain mortal opens a lot of really good angst possibilities? Yes. Do I fully trust Erik to not turn them anyways? Not really no.

If I had to put a bet in for how it would happen if Darlin got turned, it would be by Quinn. Quinn would find out or catch wind of the fact that they chose not to be turned (if he didn’t already know they would chose that) and turn them anyways just to hurt them.

(I think Alexis turning them is an interesting idea to think about, from any angle but I highly doubt that’s gonna happen lmao)

All in all I genuinely think that was the only audio that has affected me that much (aside from maybe listening to the inversion for the first time??)

Y’all on the poll said complete this 💁🏻‍♀️😂 Inspired by my often unshared love of ska lmao anyway wooahae enjoy this lowkey crack 😆 went to a ska show for one of my favorite bands like 2 months ago n it was so fun

It's hard to say what kind of day it's going to be when you wake up with a song about Canada stuck in your head. Jihoon wasn't even aware he knew a song about Canada, but there it was in his head, trumpets and all as he brushed his teeth. Lots of brass, actually, which he might have dug if it wasn't layered over the pop-punk guitars, too. Who writes a song like that?

When did Jihoon listen to a song like that?

He entered the practice room singing even the French bit under his breath as he swung the door open, AC sweeping in a chill wave toward him. "Canada oh Canada, I s'il vous plait..."

"Are you singing in French?" Mingyu asks him from his seated position on the shining polished floor.

"Don't get me started," Jihoon shook his head at the cursed mental brass, trumpet tune making it hard to get a clear thought into his mind. It was really catchy, too, darn it. Let’s go to Canada, let’s leave today…

“Who’s singing in French?” Jun chimes in.

“No one,” Jihoon sighs.

“Woozi-hyung,” chimes Chan.

“Why?”

“Let’s just practice,” Jihoon sighs, shooting the maknae his best ‘not another word outta you, Dino’ look.

The sweet, sweet relief when the Canada Song faded away, no longer stuck in his head. Jihoon put on one of his chillest samples as he sat down in the studio just to clear his ears like the coffee beans in cologne stores were supposed to, sinking into the leather of his chair after the strain of both dance practice and all the Canada. As the simple beat filled his brain, he sighed, preparing to add the next layer when…

…Another even catchier song entered his head. The backing guitar was similar, but overall the electrics were more prominent. The trumpets were even more rousing, the voice singing triumphantly about this and that all in English this time. Something about singing a song, ironically. Jihoon was very confident he’d never heard that song either, and this time it was far more vivid than simply having something stuck in your head. It was playing as if through headphones with the volume turned up, like God himself was trying to blast out the sampled beat he’d wanted to work with. Fine, then.

He turned it up. The music in his head turned up, too. He fought back with his chill beat. It fought back just as hard. You asked for it…music.

Jihoon had plenty of upbeat songs to work on, too. Closing the relaxing song-in-progress, probably something that would be going to the vocal team, he opened up one of the hip hop unit’s demos, the loudest one they had, and started playing that. It needed some fine-tuning before the next album anyway. Finally the trumpets faded out of his head as he got some work done, tweaking the autotune back to keep the members’ voices at the forefront. This time, neither the brass nor the guitars returned. Ha. Victory was his.

“What song is that?”

“Was I humming?”

“Yeah,” Soongyoung nods, “it sounds like a nice song.”

“It isn’t.” Jihoon crosses his arms as the music fades into his ears. “It’s just some song about a pool party.”

His friend smiled. “Sounds like fun. New concept?”

“No, it’s not mine.”

Soonyoung’s brows furrowed as he swiveled in his chair, clunking plastic sounds accompanying the motion. “Whose is it, then?”

His head fell into his hands. “I wish I knew.”

He spent the rest of the day ready to strangle Soonyoung, who liked the pool party song enough that he kept singing it long after it was done playing through Jihoon’s head.

A song about skateboards? Ok, kind of a good idea, just maybe not one so goofy. Had a trumpeter died and seen fit to haunt one Lee Jihoon for his musical proclivity?

Something was going on. This wasn’t natural. His dancing time was suffering unless he listened to the practice song in headphones. His lyricism failed him, other instruments blurring out his careful, sentimental mixes in whirlwinds of skateboards and time bombs and foreign countries. The songs could have been worse, in fact Jihoon was getting a bit too comfortable with the catchy one about something or other in school and singing, but in his line of work no one could afford distractions. Especially distractions that literally got louder every time he tried to drown them out as if they wanted him to know they hated him.

He excused himself from practice, slumping down against the wall with his chin in one hand, the other digging in his sweats pocket for his phone, praying Google would have some answers as to what would cause this.

A shadow fell over his vision. “Hey, are you ok?”

Glancing up, he saw Jeonghan standing over him, hands wringing in concern. “I know this has been a tense week for you, but the others were saying something about music? About singing in French?”

Jihoon sighed, sliding his phone back into the warmth of his pocket. He let it all fall out, all the brassy details of his past week rushing forth. How it started with feeling a song he’d never heard stuck in his head and continued into sometimes hours-long segments of invisible headphones tuning him into unfamiliar ditties.

“I- I feel like I’m going crazy.”

Jeonghan rested a hand on his shoulder. “You’re not going crazy. Have you considered that it’s your soulmate?”

“My soulmate is a bunch of disembodied ska?”

“No,” Jeonghan suppressed a laugh, “some people hear music when they’re close to their soulmates. It gets louder when it’s closer to your time to meet.”

Jihoon cocked a brow, shifting a bit on the hard floor. “Then why does mine sound like pool parties and Canada?”

“I’m…not even going to ask what that means,” Jeonghan shot back, hands steepled, “but you hear what your soulmate is listening to. They’ve probably been hearing bits of our practice or anything you’re working on.”

“A-ha!” Jihoon finally lit up. “That’s why it stopped when I worked on the hip hop demo!”

“Maybe they were listening,” Jeonghan confirmed with a smile.

“My soulmate,” Jihoon shook his head in disbelief, partially having believed he wouldn’t have one as such a recluse, “my soulmate who probably thinks I’m a rapper now. And who listens to…” He pulls google back up to the page with the pool party song artist. “A band with a bunch of grown men who dress like superheroes.”

Jeonghan squinted at the image on the proffered phone, a bunch of spandex-top-clad men in dynamic poses holding their instruments, eyebrows raising. “Those guys look like dorks.”

“I think it’s comedy? They have a song about pizza too. And aliens. And skits on youtube.”

“Well, I guess opposites do attract. Have you tried following the music?”

The jaw drop was practically palpable. “Following it? I’ve been running away,” Jihoon chuckled.

“Well, it’ll only get worse until you find the person, you know,” Jeonghan lowered himself into a seated position at his side, “so if you want no more brass, I’d suggest-”

“Running around like a chicken with my head cut off.”

“I was actually going to say ‘leaving the Hybe building for once in your life’, but that works too. Who knows,” the older singer shrugged, “maybe it’ll get louder. Maybe it’ll stop on someone you really like. Your soulmate could just be a friend, you know. A friend of mine’s soulmate is her best friend and both girls are straight.”

“Alright,” Jihoon puts his hands up, “alright. I’ll do it, I’ll find them just to get the music to stop.”

“I’ll go with you,” Jeonghan offers, standing up and holding out his hand.

Ignoring the hand, Jihoon stands up on his own. “What, for the show?”

“For moral support! …but yes, also for the show. I can’t wait to see what your soulmate looks like,” Jeonghan grins.

After rinsing off and changing out of sweaty practice outfits, the dual vocalists exited the Hybe building to the sound of trumpets…well, if you were Jihoon, that is. It really was like he was the unwilling recipient of a mostly-ska music subscription directly, forcibly installed into his brain.

The light outside was harsh for someone like him who wasn’t used to it. Even Jeonghan blinked a bit as they made their way onto the sidewalk, skirting around a planted tree.

“Ok, we’ll start with going this way,” Jeonghan said, “tell me if it gets quieter or louder.”

Jihoon felt his frown tighten, which made Jeonghan laugh. “Let me guess…we’re getting closer?”

He laughed again at the dry nod he was given in response, pointing down the street where they’d turned left. “Then we keep going that way.”

They passed about five buildings before the sound was practically unbearable, every brass note an echoing assault on Jihoon’s cranial walls despite the considerable skill of their players. Hey, assaulted or not, he was a musician at the end of the day, one who had to respect the lungs on a fellow wind or even brass player.

Looking up from the blare, he saw a bookstore of all places. "This is it," he nodded toward the doors at Jeonghan before disappearing inside.

Mazelike walls of grey shelves bearing rainbows of books greeted him, but Jihoon didn't need to go far for the music, this new song an entirely different man and woman singing about gas in a car in a rapid-fire chorus, drowned out all perception. Tables sporadically dotted the area, and one of the closest ones drew him like a magnet, bringing him closer and closer...

...Until like an act of mercy, the sound abruptly stopped, Jihoon's eyes fluttering closed in sweet relief, a laugh almost escaping him at the returned use of all his cranial real estate. Relief was all he felt, the relaxing sensation washing over him hard enough to keep him frozen there, all but forgetting where he was until a voice cut him off.

"Hi, did you need something?"

Descending back to reality, Jihoon opened his eyes and fixed them upon the speaker, the lone occupant of the table he'd stopped at sitting there with a laptop. Call it a rush of sentimentality, but the first thing he noticed about you was the kindness of the smile on your face as you removed your headphones.

That wasn't what he came there for, though. "What are you always listening to that music for?" He asked.

"Uh, I'm a music major?" You responded, head tilted and tone questioning. Kind of cute.

"And you listen to ska?"

"I like it," you defended with a shrug, "and besides, I'm writing my thesis on the influence of ska on various sides of counterculture like its greater punk umbrella and the serious topics it can be used to convey through the light style, like faith, how people judge your views based on their expectations of your expression of them, or even feelings of self-doubt and fear of judgement that are conveyed in one of the most famous songs. The singer himself has even talked about how his social anxiety inspired the lyrics, which many agree really exemplify a human experience."

The concept of his soulmate being a scholar, or even just being a real non-psychopathic person, had barely occurred to Jihoon in light of all the trumpet torture, but now that you were before him, his ire was rapidly melting away, weeks of beating himself up over diminished performance replaced by the one stronger feeling: sheer curiosity.

"Oh, wow. I had no idea, and I'm a producer."

Your face lit up with surprise. "You're a producer?"

He just hummed and nodded.

"I'm really more interested in songwriting, but that all goes hand-in-hand," you said, "but hey- how did you know what I was listening to?"

There it was. The reason Jihoon had taken to, in the words of one Yoon Jeonghan, who was perusing books two tables away, 'leaving the Hybe building for once in his life'. "I've been hearing practically nothing but for, yeesh, how many weeks now?"

"You're the guy listening to all the kpop songs over and over?"

"It's my job."

"And that rap demo?"

"Also my job."

"It really threw me the first time my sound got interrupted."

"Yeah, think how I felt," Jihoon remarked drily, meeting your eyes.

Several heartbeats passed before you burst out with a laugh, and something about the sound of it coupled with the tail end of the relief wave was so infectious Jihoon found himself laughing, too.

"Here," you waved a hand over a chair, "sit down and I'll play you another Skankin' Pickle song."

"Another excuse me?"

"'90s ska band."

Brass-filled 'Nam flashbacks. "I'm good."

"Well, now that I've suggested something worse," you grinned, sending some part of Jihoon's heart flipping, "hopefully it'll sound better if I ask my soulmate whose name I still don't know on a date."

thats got me thinking actually . i havent rly had the energy nor the interest to update nuniq's doc to include interactions w/ the newest agents . including harbor and tjats literally her boyfriend lmao 😭😭😭😭 but anyway lemme make some poorly drawn depictions of what nuniq thinks of the newer agents (starting from clove to gekko)

clove

honestly. nuniq wasnt too jazzed about the idea of hiring a kid (grown adult but theyre a kid to her), especially an untrained one . she understands they might have a link to omen going rogue but is still iffy about the whole situation

also oof. the whole immortality thing? yeah it must be a lot to bear for clove, theyre just very good at hiding it. but like with a lot of the young radiants, nuniq lets them know they can approach her about this stuff bc shes been through it too

she can admit she gets pissed at clove bc their immortality causes them to make more reckless decisions on the field . she wants to get it in their head that you still have to be smart about these things no matter how much power you have

but! she thinks clove is very nice. very silly very sweet guy who is an excellent storyteller. storytelling is very intertwined in both nuniq and clove's cultures so she loves listening to whatever clove can whip up

clove has probably dragged her into dnd at least once

she took a while to grasp it but thats ok shes trying her best

anyway yeah clove talks a lot and sometimes nuniq cant understand them so she has to ask them to slow down

valorant hired him because he was a kingdom killer and nuniq was ALL FOR THAT !!!!

she can tolerate the cocky smug little shit thing bc hes professional at least

hes not very hard to work with and is very cunning and calculating. nuniq likes that

iso has most definitely heard about nuniq before and was surprised to see her alive bc a lot of media made it seem she was dead to quell the uprisings against kingdom

nuniq is fascinated by iso's radiance but it definitely makes her think about how fast and how complex the concept of radiance itself is evolving . to think he could create his own pocket dimension with prismatic energy

besides that i feel like they mostly mind their own business

theres a mutual respect for eachothers skill and grit and they just *nods*

like the thing says. theres currently some weird tension between deadlock and nuniq rn (and its surprisingly not gay)

theyre both so cold its kinda hard for either of them to approach eachother

deadlock is. working on her relationship with gekkos creatures! which nuniq appreciates

but idk nuniq never forgets anything and its hard for her to get over the fact she almost killed wingman multiple times

+ proposed awful countermeasures to keep the radivores in check

yk that one headcanon someone made about gekkos friendliness and critters winning over a lot of the protocol?

and how they immediately had beef w deadlock because of it?

yeah thats the situation with nuniq

things have simmered down with the creature situation but nuniq mostly ignores deadlock outside of work

and frankly i think deadlock's scared of nuniq too so

last but not least GEKKO !!!!

nuniq loves gekko!!! hes so silly

hes fun and lighthearted while still being a good fighter

being around gekko makes nuniq feel. Friendlier idk how else to describe it

also his critters have 100% stolen her heart sometimes she asks to babysit wingman when gekkos busy

she has had to apologize for aput using dizzy as a chew toy though

gekko has dyed nuniqs hair temporarily; it was northern lights-colored streaks that looked really cool when braided, she kept it for about a month until it washed out

overall she thinks hes very sweet and she and reyna can get along over being protective of him

anyway yeah i think thats every agent so far after harbor! wow !!! i cant believe we've already made it this far to agent 25 .. and agent 8 still hasnt been revealed yet i love valorant lore (tired

"Obey me!" characters and their Hogwarts House - Part 1 of 3

(Contains: Lucifer, Mammon, Leviathan and Satan)

As you may know, the thing with the selection of your house goes beyond your personality: they look for your core values. That's the whole reason why Hermione was a Gryffindor even as she is a nerd, and the reason Harry could be a Slytherin. So that was also my process for choosing each of their houses:

Yeah, hot take: Lucifer is a Hufflepuff.

LUCIFER - HUFFLEPUFF

Ok, hear me out before screaming about him being Slytherin!

The core values of Hufflepuff are: Loyalty, patience, hard work, and fair play.

The only thing that is above his pride (as a demon, because that's his sin and he was shaped after it), is his loyalty to his family. He said so after falling and giving his loyalty to Diavolo: anything for his family, even if that breaks him in the process.

He also praises MC when they work hard and he is a workaholic. Another thing that can break his walls of pride is his loyalty to Diavolo and MC... because those things mean more to him than his own sin.

He is incredibly tolerant and has great patience with his brothers, MC, Diavolo, and Barbatos. He also tries to play fair (although his fairness is more into the eye-for-an-eye).

He can also be incredibly dependent on his brothers, even if he tries hard to be independent. He just can't see a life without them (to the point that when they are looking for Thirteen it's implied that he was tempted hearing MC and his brothers' voice. He is the only one, along Mammon, that is tempted with MC).

Is also pretty clear he is not driven by ambition or seek of power. If he tries to be flawless and be powerful is because he thinks it is the best way to protect his brothers, not for his own desire. In fact, it's quite clear in some chapters that he does get tired of that facade. So yeah, he can't be Slytherin at the core.

MAMMON - GRYFFINDOR

The core values of Gryffindor are: Bravery, helping others, and chivalry.

Mammon gives everything he has to help others, even if it's not his family or friends: a child with the witches, a puppy he found, MC when they were new in the Devildom, and he is the whole reason why his brothers and himself are the seven lords of the Devildom. He was even tempted by the grim reapers' house by hearing MC's voice and go with them.

Even if he has wishes, he can be really unselfish and put his wishes under the ones of others. Buy MC things even if he wanted to buy something for himself? Yup, he does that a lot.

He also is very brave, he was the one who stood up against Lucifer, Diavolo, and even God (he was the second hand of Lucifer for a reason). He is so brave that he can watch horror movies even if he becomes a baby and he wishes to fight his inner fears for the sake of others.

LEVIATHAN - HUFFLEPUFF

The core values of Hufflepuff are: Loyalty, patience, hard work, and fair play.

Levithan has as the top priority the concept of friendship and the loyalty towards it.

Even if he doesn't have a lot of "I care for them" in his list, when you are in it, it's hard to be out of it.

He also accepts challenges if he feels like it would be a fair one and he actually accepted the end of that test with MC in the first season. That was what it was, even if he didn't like it.

He puts a lot of effort into his cosplays and games and he is really grateful when someone tries hard for him, too.

SATAN - RAVENCLAW

The core values of Ravenclaw are: Intelligence, creativity, knowledge, planning ahead, and wit.

Satan is all about looking for knowledge (because he is traumatized lmao). He has books and spells for almost everything and he actually seeks who he is beyond his sin and the wrath of Lucifer.

He thinks the best way to resolve any conflict is to think of ways to prevent them and if they are happening, look for solutions on knowledge.

He also loves to play with ideas and schemes, even if he ends up not doing them.

He seems to really look down on people who aren't interested in learning and growing. He thinks of Lucifer as stubborn and way too must-do-it-in-this-way and that makes him angry, but he can give him his respects when Lucifer does something clever. He respects his brothers when they are creative or witty, and that's one of the reasons why he liked Belphie from the very beginning.

man ok idk if youll be able to advise on this or something but like. do you know anything regarding dealing with like internalised ableism?

i live in a rural part of ireland, right? and idk what it is about rural ireland but some of the people are heinous. my school is in a small miserable-ass town and like. God, man. not everyone sucks, of course but like. jesus lol additionally i have a ~mildly ableist~ mother (a "we're all a little bit autistic" and "erm. youre not disabled because youre not in a wheelchair or blind/deaf" etc etc type stuff. + "npd = bad person" which isnt particularly good for me specifically because i have npd (that i both Cant get an official diagnosis for, for various reasons, and im not really Looking for one either because i know what i am and its not like you get support for it because ~ooh scary narcissist~.)

and like. idk if this is Obvious but that can kinda cause a weird-ass relationship with You (being Me in this case, yk how it is with the second person perspective when. ranting) and The Concept Of Being Disabled. like, objectively. im disabled. im autistic, ive definitely got adhd (that im hopefully going to get examined for at some point cause college stuff requires it for the disability forums and stuff. gotta love that. fuckin 80% comorbidity right?), ive got a laughable number of repetative strain injuries, i have a sensory processing disorder, an endocrine disease that effects my Entire cardiovascular system, a spine that felt a lil quirky and bent in too much. so on a so forth

but also like. it feels wrong to call myself disabled. yk, like im doing a disservice to all the other ~actually~ disabled people (being Anyone but me lol) (none of this is At All helped by the fact that my mother refuses to listen to me regarding Jack Shit about my health in Any way. "oh you nearly passed out on top of a hill because of your cardiovascular condition? erm youre just not exercising enough actually" "you dont have depression [said while i was filling out an assigned mood diary after being forcefully brought to camhs for Reasons" like. shut the fuck up and Listen to me please. at least Entertain the idea that i could be right about something for fucking once lmao. cause ive been right about EVERYTHING regarding my mental health so fucking far so. fuck off /nay ofc) (also man. like, even if you ignored the physical issues ive got im still disabled on account of being autistic. like, motor function is fine, despite being a lil clumsy and/or unsteady sometimes but like. my emotional needs are Fucked. think of the response youd get if you asked a. fuckin. 8 year old or something to do algebra. but with a very emotionally stunted and traumatised 17 year old lol. lmao, even /lh)

so like. if youve got. any advice or whatever on any of this thatd be Super cool + no pressure obvs. sorry this is a whole. like. fucking essay's worth of Random Guy Complaining To You On The Internet lol

Internalised ableism is a really hard thing to deal with, especially when you're surrounded by people who constantly re-enforce it. I've also spent a lot of time worrying that I'm not disabled 'enough' to deserve certain accommodations, that I'm making an unnecessary fuss. But the truth is, autism IS a disability and if there are accommodations that can help support you, you deserve access to them. You're not taking away from others with disabilities by advocating for yourself.

It's taken me a long time to understand this and I still worry sometimes. What has helped is talking about my experiences with people I know understand, like my therapist or best friend, and learning about the experiences of other autistic people through books, social media, YouTube and even real life.

I'm sorry your mother and others aren't being understanding - remember that's a them problem, not you, and try to spend your time with people who do understand.

ok so i do enjoy asuka guiltygear but i have been thinking REALLY hard about asuka tekken as of late so we're talking about her today

also this took me WAY too long to post i apologize but it Is out here so yaaaay

favorite thing about them:

ok so legally i have to mention asuka's tekken 8 design because motherfucker WHAT were they thinking with that one. what the fuck was the inspiration. but i love it so much i cannot lie

other than that, i really enjoy her rivalry with lili and how moderately insane that bit has gotten, and i like how they've kept her a character who is a) defensively focused in her gameplay even among the generally aggressive play of t8, and b) has a generally down-to-earth feel to her despite. Everything. happening in tekken

least favorite thing about them:

so i was actually talking to a friend about this recently and she explained my feelings really well, its like. asuka feels like the protagonist of another story that isnt being told.

it feels like she has so much stuff that COULD be a really interesting plot focus for her but it just. hasnt been? like everything between her and feng COULD be so neat but its just been sort of...by the wayside for the past few games in favor of keeping up with the mishimas (new sitcom there btw)

asuka's quotes are fun but most arent super noteworthy unfortunately? its mostly pretty standard fare for fighting game open and win quotes unforch :( i will say though, i do really enjoy this win line in t8 from her:

i still havent been here long enough to know whats unpopular regarding her :,) although i think in terms of gameplay i think she's cooler than most people believe, though i do agree that her current iteraiton in t8 isnt very strong within the meta unforch :(

Shanalotte 🍀

My girl comes first because she is the most well known character, but she is MORE than just the level up girl that says “Bear seek seek lest” and all that lmao.

Shan was the original Melina, in that she was waaaayyy deeper and more mysterious that one would initially think, which is actually kinda sad because all of the Soulsborne level-up girls are considered the heroines of the story and usually are more complicated than they seem.

But anyway, Shan is by far one of the most developed, to the point where she even got a really unique CG model in the DS2 trailers.

She also has some really cool unused concept art and LOOK AT HER. She has a very Druidian look that gives off a “traditional fantasy” vibe that Dark Souls usually tends to warp with other designs. Also, the pic where she’s T-posing….I will never shut up about her ornaments and that big-ass dagger. Melina vibes for sure.

There are some miiild downgrades for her actual in-game model IN MY OPINION, but nothing too drastic. I just wish they had kept her little forehead gem, but she looks great otherwise.

Beyond design, she is also just a fascinating character. I love that she was…created? She is like the Doll in that sense, but she wasn’t a memory ornament. She was an attempt to achieve immortality, which actually isn’t an unintelligent idea on humanity’s part. Dragons are eternal after all, but uhh…it’s unethical of course. (Idk why I am very drawn to characters that were born from human experimentation but I just love them okay).

Shan being part dragon is bizarre and I love it. She also has her own motivations in trying to break the human curse. Part of me thinks it’s because she wants to avoid any more children being used for grotesque creations like she was. Just that touch of agency and personal interest makes her appealing to me. I could go on about her all day and I’m sure you now see that I’m not very normal about her. Lowkey been simping since I first played DS2 in late 2014 or whatever.

I even wrote her a little story with the DS2 protag back in the day. I’d like to rewrite it and publish maybe. Anyway yeah, Shanalotte is my DS2 beloved besides Lucatiel.

Alsanna ❄️

“ALSANNAAAAAA”—Ivory King. Maybe.

You may not know of the DS2 “It-couple” yet, but they are like the Ciaran and Artorias in the game. They are the epitome of “I can fix her” and “I can make him worse,” which is, funnily enough, exactly how I see Ciaran and Artorias lmao. I’m admittedly soft for the trope of “black cat and golden retriever” type pairs if they are written well.

But Alsanna is more than just one half of a romantic plot. She is the fourth daughter of Manus and the “redeemed one,” if you will. She is her father’s fear, which basically meant she herself was the personification of anxiety lol. She says it herself in the game.

She went looking for a king to corrupt in order to feel stronger and gain power, but she ended up with the Ivory King…who was like…a pretty cool guy. He knew what she was trying to do and didn’t care. Her dark powers even corrupted parts of his kingdom, but he was just kind to her and treated her with dignity. This changed her heart eventually and she ended up devoting herself to protecting the kingdom with him. I won’t say what happens, but it’s a really bittersweet story that Alsanna gladly shares. I love her. She’s a good bean.

AND HER DESIGN. I swear, she’s one of the big reasons why I’d want a Remaster of DS2, because my poor girl is tormented by gritty pixels, but she has a lovely look. Here’s what she is SUPPOSED to look like to us:

Fume Knight Raime 🐦‍⬛

Me??? Having the knight with a raven aesthetic as a blorbo? Naaahhhh.

This is SO unexpected.

Anyway, Raime is mah boi. This gothy edgelord saw right through Nashandra and Vendrick’s doomed marriage and got kicked out for being loud about it. Basically.

He also lost a fight to his golden boi rival, Velstadt, who was a Vendrick SIMP. Although, technically they probably both were at first, but Raime was too alt. He had to be exiled.

Then he latched on to Nadalia instead…Manus’ most lonely daughter. Raime is infatuated with her in the game, and I kinda interpret it as a mother-son thing. Basically, Raime had an Oedipus complex lmao. Reject the father (Vendrick) and embrace the mother (Nadalia).

I could be wrong, but that’s how it comes off. It’s also totally ironic how Raime knew Nashandra was sus but fell for Nadalia anyway. He’s a hypocrite, but he’s MY hypocrite and I love him. His story and design are great.

Nashandra ♠️

Nashandra…I’m so normal. She was the original Marika fr. I love evil blonde queens <3

I don’t wanna spoil the whole damn plot of DS2, so I’ll just say….I love how this literal fragment of dark became so politically savvy and cunning that she basically toppled a kingdom. I like to imagine some more complicated feelings between Vendrick and Shandra than ‘guy simps and takes massive L.”

Yeah, that IS what happened, but Shandra fooled him for years. How? HOW? A literal manifestation of Manus’ “want” could not have been that believable…unless? I’ll leave it to your imagination.

Anyway, she is too spoilerly to talk about, but I love Nashandra both design-wise and story-wise. AND HER MUSIC IS SO GOOD.

Zullie + Alva 🪻

These two come as a package and count as one blorbo, I will not be taking criticisms. I was gonna put Creighton here, but guess who gets less screwed over in DS3? THESE TWO.

Their story is so good. Idk what it is about FromSoft’s love of “problematic female character meets chill guy and starts to hang out with him instead of murdering his ass,” but it’s…a thing lol.

Zullie, (not the YouTuber sdfgh), is such an iconic DS2 character that stole the show with her design and history while Alva has one of the best armor sets in the game. He’s also just a cool fella overall. I used to like to read about and imagine their shenanigans as a duo, and in fact, they subtly inspired my take on Leo and Ursula in Bloodborne. Noble knight and shady witch duos are fun as hell. Love these two.
