the crown prince.

the first time kim taehyung met the sorceress is when the marquis introduced her as his adopted daughter.

she was meant to curse him and the imperial family a slow, painful death.

but instead, the first thing she did upon becoming his acquaintance is to tattletale on her father.

first, they convinced taehyung’s elder brother, seokjin and seokjin being seokjin, roped their second brother, hoseok, into this and with that, hoseok’s close friend, namjoon.

one touch and it was all it took for their father, the previous emperor, to believe her dazzling emerald eyes that glowed with the power that lead to the annihilations of her kin a few generations ago.

they thought she was still little bud; an empty glass and if poured with the teachings of the empire, could become the empire’s greatest weapon.

or so they thought.

“huh? a war? i’m not going! i hear you’d have to sleep on the ground. at night, you could feel insects crawl up your skin and sometimes, you won’t be able to bathe for days!” she laments, laying on the chaise longue underneath the tree shade of the garden her elder brother gifted her.

after the fall of their father, her elder brother received the title and just as unambitious as the young master was, she had grown to be the exact replica of him.

taehyung couldn’t help but sigh under his breath, relief flooding his body.

“then, i’ll tell seokjin that.”

the army’s faring well without a sorceress on their side regardless.

he’s about to leave when she calls for him.

“since you’re here, would you like to have dinner together?” she has her eyes closed as if she can’t be bothered to send off the crown prince to his carriage.

“sure, unless you’re the one cooking.”

“are you insane? i can’t have my nails chipped, i just had them done. look.” she waves her slender fingers in the air, a pleasant smile on her lips.

taehyung takes it and lightly bites on her index finger.

“you licentious man!”

“my lady, how you break my-”

and that’s how the crown prince had a cushion thrown in his face.

when he meets her again, it’s during the purge of the corrupt ministers.

“him,” she points to the baron of isira who’s leering at seokjin as the two spoke.

“and him, and her, and her,” she goes on to single out every minister that was involved in either human trafficking, tax evasion, slavery and many more.

“how do you know?” taehyung asks, on one starry night as they lay on the grass, staring up at the sky.

“i may have grown up as a cinderella who got adopted into a noble family but... do you know why sorcerers were feared?” she turns to him with eyes that shine brighter than the stars, “it’s because we know too much, even if we didn’t want to.”

taehyung only smiles, “not all,” he says.

she does not know that she owns his heart.

“marry the dragon queen? your brother’s gone mad. mad, i tell you.” she huffs.

it’s because her own brother is stationed farther away from her as work to move the capital to the kingdom of the free is put into motion as the imperial marriage approaches.

“i wonder, when did love started becoming a sin?” he murmurs.

this time, it’s him that’s laying down on the chaise longue while she marches back and forth with the fan fluttering in her face without anyone holding it.

she rarely uses magic but when she does, taehyung notices, it’s only when they’re alone.

“marriage? what do you mean?” taehyung thinks he hears the sound of glass breaking.

“it’s only natural, is it not?” she says simply, tossing one letter after the other into the fireplace.

they’re invitations to parties after she’d come of age.

apparently, high society’s caught wind of the marquis’ beauty of a sister.

“why are you here?” she hisses under her breath, vexed.

it’s the third time a boy’s made a sharp u-turn when he saw the crown prince come to stand next to her.

“i’m the crown prince, am i not allowed to attend a ball of one of my subjects?” he says simply.

it’s the way her emerald eyes glow with distrust that tells him she knows he never goes to these parties.

“since we’re both without a partner, would you like to dance with me?” he asks, shifting her attention away from the fact that it’s because of him that she’s partnerless.

“i suppose you’ll do.” she says as if he’s not the most coveted man in the empire.

well, that is, after seokjin got married to the dragon queen.

on the empire’s founding day, she stands next to him in the roof-less carriage as it goes down the street, waving and smiling at the people - he asks her to be his partner for the day and she asks him-

“so, when will you get on your knees for me?”

he almost fell sideway and off the carriage.

“you say the most unpredictable things.” taehyung laughs though all he hears is the sound of blood in his ears.

when he does get on his knee, it’s on the day of his birthday, in front of the imperial guests from all over the continent.

it’s the first time he’s seen her look so flustered.

but she's always managed to gather herself effortlessly.

“your highness, i didn’t know you bear such feelings for me!” she dramatically exclaims and he has an inkling that it has something to do with siera belanger, the girl that’s been making a nemesis out of her.

“yes, yes, i’ve gone mad like my bro-”

he doesn’t get to finish when he throws her arms around him.

“shh, don’t ruin the moment by bringing up your fool of a brother.” she whispers to him softly whilst the nobles gaze at them like they’re witnessing a love story of the century unfold.

has it truly just unfolded?

he feels like he’s been in love with her his whole life.

he’s always known he’d be part of hers and her, him.

he wraps her arms around her waist and buries his face in her shoulder, inhaling the rosy scent that he loves so much.

(”how long have you known?” he asks as he sits on the ground, leaning up against the chaise longue that’s been moved from her mansion to the palace after the engagement.

she’s playing with his hair.

“oh, darling. you’ve always been in love with me.” the cockiness that tugs on her smirk is one he’s become fond of.

taehyung takes her hand, lips hovering over her knuckles but instead of kissing it, he lifts it up just enough for him to trap her pinky finger between his lips.

he watches as her she blinks for the briefest moment before her eyes go wide and the faintest trace of pink dusts her cheeks.

“we’re in public!”)

The multiverse as it was commonly known and understood was forever altered when halfblood prince Kim Seokjin came into existence. Said to be born from Hephaestus, god of fire, and Queen Selene, the mother of vampires, Seokjin was blessed with magical powers he would later learn to master and manipulate; yet cursed with the need for his deepest, darkest, and sometimes dangerous desires to be fulfilled at every waking second. Craving the touch of both men and women, longing for the taste of his lovers, and yearning the ardor produced from two partners entangled.

After being founded by Archwizard Kim Seokjin, an esteemed sorcerer who rose to prominence in 1092 due to his prowess in the arts of fire magic and passion, House Jincubus was on the rise of becoming what would be one of the greatest houses at Bangtan Sorciere. When you open your eyes, you find yourself already succumbing to the beast’s luxury. The guest bedroom was drastically different from yours back at the castle. Instead of a crowded bunker with poorly made beds, you continue laying upon the silk sheets alone in a spacious room as you soak in the warm sunlight that poured through the window. You breathed in deeply, finally away from the musty smell of body odor and sweat that once choked out your lungs.

You didn’t sleep for very long, but awoke to the sun beaming high in the sky; right before noon. Despite your more courteous morals, your stomach was a vicious entity that halts for no one. In an attempt to quickly resolve this issue, you scrambled to the door. The floor beneath you creaked every other step you took, but hunger was more important that being quiet.

Eventually, you find yourself stood in the middle of the kitchen. It’s empty, but the lingering scent of food guided you to a loaded plate of... breakfast? Before you know it, you’re chowing down like a drunkard who found their calling.

Loud thumps approach the kitchen, and you see the beast’s head poke in. Correction: Namjoon’s Dragon head poked in. With wide archways and plenty of head space, the rest of the beastly body enters the kitchen. Large pots and pans clang as his figure searches vigorously through the shelves. At last, he snuffs out a bottle with a strange liquid inside.

Namjoon hastily consumes its strange contents before a puff of smoke appears in the air. You are all but staring, trying to not be awed at the magic taking place. Namjoon returns to his human form, albeit with a disgusted look on his face.

“Ugh,” he sighs,” The taste is just something I’m never gonna get used to, is it?” Namjoon mutters to himself before he notices you at the dining table.

He smiles to you as he slides into the seat across from you. “The potions turn me back, but only temporarily.” He looks down at his hands with a reminiscent look upon his features. “My youngest brother, Taehyung, wasn’t very skilled back then when he made these, but it gets me through when I go to the market. Speaking of which, we need a game plan.”

“.....what does that have to do with your brother?”

“My family is a conglomerate of issues; Hell, my brother turned me into a damned dragon after all.” He chuckles softly to himself. “It’s better this way if you know, but then again, you don’t have to help me. I won’t force you to share this burden.” Namjoon meets your eyes, and for the same compelling reason that made you stay the first time, you responded.

“It’s alright Namjoon, I will help you seek justice.”

“There were three brothers,” He started the tale of his tragedy.” From youngest to eldest: Kim Taehyung, Kim Namjoon, and,” He pauses for a moment. He tears his eyes away from you as the name falls from his lips. “....Kim Seokjin.”

You couldn’t hide the shock that wipes across your face. After all the years you’ve been alive, this was the first time you ever thought about King Kim’s family. You had always thought that he was the only son, even when rumors of other family members were whispered throughout the village.

“Seokjin may be the eldest, but he’s also a hopeless romantic. So much so, he became unfit to be king when he disobeyed one of the Ten Commandments.” Namjoon shakes his head in dismay. “Thou shalt not kill.” His voice breaks as he struggles to continue,” In a fit of jealousy and rage he... he murdered a woman who didn’t return his feelings. Instead, she was in love with ...me of all things.”

A hollow laugh escapes him, and self deprecation rooted itself like an old and undying tree. Your heart twisted in pain; you stop yourself before you cross a boundary with this man. He is royalty, and you are only a knight. You can devote yourself as a knight to him, but to devote your heart too? That was an unspeakable and selfish secret you must keep to yourself. Before you can undo it however, you place your hand over his as a sign of trust, encouraging him to keep going.

“I didn’t love her like that, but what he did was wrong. After they banned him from becoming King, he became hellbent to destroy my future as the new heir.”

“We will find a way to make things right.” You looked at him with your sincerest heart, hoping he would notice it.

“Taehyung wanted to be a wizard when he met a traveling sorcerer as a child. My parents disapproved, so he ran away and chased after his idol. Since he was still young, Seokjin tricked him into letting him into their library, which held the spell book that cursed me into who I am today.”

“But what about now? He must be a powerful wizard after all this time, right?” You asked Namjoon. Surely, this Taehyung guy could help him.

“Yeah, but I don’t want them to think I’m only using Taehyung to get back at Seokjin. I actually liked all of my brothers, but Seokjin created distrust between us.”

“But you were cursed!! It won’t hurt to pay a visit, Namjoon. Let’s see how your brother is doing after all these years.” You smiled at him as he nodded.

You knock on the door covered in overgrown vines, which you can only hope was for protection and wasn’t just glowing for no reason.

The door swings open in a hurry and a cheery smile greets you. “Hello! You must be y/n; a pleasure to make your acquaintance Miss.” His voice is deep, but his friendly nature immediately overrides him from being any threat. But, how did he know your name? He’s wearing a deep wine colored cloak with gold embellishments lining the delicate fabric. The knowing glint in his eyes gleamed in the sunshine. “I’m Taehyung, an apprentice of The Great Sorcerer.”

“But how did you--”

“Come inside, my honored guests.” He beamed,” He is going to love you guys!” He guides you and Namjoon inside.

The seemingly small door gave way to a hidden palace of sorts. Odd shaped bottles and books were lined by the thousands on shelves while messy notes lay scattered on the floor. Taehyung leads the way into another room; it’s smaller than the previous but more cluttered and worn with years of use. A man wearing a thick black cloak with pockets and buckles stood before a table. The table’s surface is glowing as he works through a spell. Suddenly, he stops and turns to face you.

“Taehyung,” he uttered in a disappointing tone,” How many times do I have to tell you? You know I hate people; once you let them in they keep coming back like a... like a weird rash.” The sorcerer is exasperated beyond all belief. He sighs,”At the very least, you didn’t tell them that I was like some omniscient sorcerer god again, right?”

Taehyung chuckles,”uh oh.” He rushes over to the sorcerer with a smile plastered on his face. “It’s okay though, they’re harmless. At least, I think so.”

With a roll of his eyes, the so-called ‘Great Sorcerer’ gently moved Taehyung aside as he walks up to you and Namjoon. “Just call me Yoongi; it’s my name.”

“Oh, okay. Yoongi we--” Namjoon starts to speak.

Before you can explain yourselves, Yoongi is ushering you two out the door. “Yeah sorry but, we aren’t accepting any requests right now. I can assure you,” He says with utmost confidence,” I bet you can solve your chick flick dramas on your own.”

Before Namjoon can respond, the door is shut in front of your faces. You are met with silence as you try to register what just happened. “....What’s a chick flick drama?” You ask.

Namjoon is just as confused as you are. You sigh in defeat,”....maybe it was best that we leave?”

You turn your heel and start down the path again when a loud crash resounds from inside. As you two stare dumbly at the door, loud crashes and bangs continue to come from the home. There’s inaudible yelling and what seems to be flashes of light coming from the crack below the door. It’s very apparent an argument is taking place, but you guess it’s natural for magic to come in to play at a place like this.

The door flings open, and Taehyung’s cheery smiled blinded you once more. “We would be more than happy to help you guys, isn’t that right Yoongi?”

Yoongi makes his way to the door looking like he just came back from war. Cuts and soot covered his face, and he’s panting like he ran from one village to the next. “...Damn......you....” He speaks between gasps for air. He’s glaring at Taehyung, and shakes his head in disappointment and defeat.

The apprentice’s smile didn’t waver as he ushered the two of you back inside. He huffs excitedly,” So how are you, Brother?”

Summary : When a war threatens the world of Mythica, the four greatest tribes are forced to work together in order to defeat the darkness. You and Jin are from two different tribes, two different backgrounds and are expected to stand together in order to save everyone you love. Will you two put aside your diffrences in order to save the world or will you fail?

The sky is silent and unnerving as Sapphire and Beansprout fly trough it.

Until you near your destination.

Your home.

Even from quite the distance you could see the bright light of fire, feel the wind acting up, and can only imagine the horror that's going on there.

" Yah!" A scream is suddenly called from a little below you as a huge black creature pops up in your vision.

You let out an eek in suprise and Jin too lets out a scream.

" Don't go there. Follow me." You recognise the voice as Yoongi's and only then you realize that he's on the back of his huge black Phoenix.

And so you signal Jin to follow you.

Yoongi leads the two of you near the camp, but still out of sight for the people there to see.

" What happened? How are we under attack?" You ask Yoongi as you jump off of Beansprout's back and walk over to him while he steps off himself, Jin right of your heel.

Beansprout puffs his spikes up, ready to fight if necessary.

Everyone of your group is there, you realize. Namjoon and Taehyung are on the lookout, Jungkook is quietly talking with Jimin, and Hoseok is resting against a rock, a deep red oozing out of his shoulder. There's a healer taking care of him. There's also elder people and younger kids. Everyone looks stressed. Elder people are leaning on their equally as old soulmates, while the youngers are hiding as best as they could.

Considering some animal breeds are able to camouflage, it causes you, Yoongi and Jin to be careful in your steps.

" We're sabotaged from inside out. It was Hinzo, he made a pact with some messed up sorcerer from the Woods'. He led their creatures in only to attack us." Yoongi explained.

You and Seokjin looked at each other in suprise.

Hinzo was one of the best in the Phoenix tribe, and was next in line to be the leader. He was also a friend of you, who you knew had a crush on you. But how could he do this? And why?

" What happened to Hoseok?" You asked Yoongi.

" Was attacked too. I'm gonna go in there and get the youngers out. You coming with me?" He asked as you nodded.

" I'll come too." Jin said but Yoongi shook his head.

" No. You can't bend properly yet and the others here will need protection too. Stay here." Yoongi ordered.

Jin nodded before turning to you.

" Be careful."

You nodded and jumped on Beansprout's back. Yoongi called Namjoon too before all of you set off towards your, now burning, home.

A few minutes later you're flying right above the scene now, screams of fear and aggression making it's way into your sensitive ears.

Yoongi nods at you and taps his wrist 5 times before flying down.

You have five minutes to save whoever you're able to until the situation will get out of hand.

You scan the crowd for a second before setting into action, taking a few steps back to squad on your heels and draw your sword.

Beansprout roared before setting himself on fire. ( as a fire originated dragon, he can set his skin on fire without actually being burned by his own flames.)

He swiped at some as you threw yourself off his back, not because you'd get burned by his fire, but to reach a certain spot you saw from the sky.

From what you could see, there was this small gap on a side of the battlefield. Knowing how younger dragons tend to hide instead of flee or attack, you have a strong hunch that it's a younger.

You step into action as soon as your feet touch the grounds, slicing whatever creatures' is in your way which doesn't belong to any of the tribes.

It takes a while before you're standing where you remember the spot to be.

It's indeed oddly empty, and whatever creature it is, it's breathing so hard because of the stress that you can see it's puffing breaths.

" Hey, I know you're afraid, but I need you to-" You try to approach them carefully, but there's something making it's way towards you before you realize.

" Drop your weapon, Y/N." Hinzo's voice sounds behind you.

You turn around but step in front of whatever invisible creatures you're trying to protect.

" Why are you doing this?" You ask him, running your fingers over the blade of your sword, leaving a stream of poisen in it's path.

" Join me. You know I like you. I don't want to hurt you. They promised me a high position, it'd feel good if you were by my side." He tells you, as his orange phoenix landed beside him, the orange bird looking at you with it's piercing eyes.

" Never." You tell him.

He growls before muttering something and making a move to hit whatever's behind you.

Your reflexes are luckily quick enough to avoid the blow, and whatever's behind you doesn't get hurt. You and Hinzo keep tense eye contact for a minute before you swipe your blade at him, narrowly missing his side, he doesn't back down, and swipes right back at you. However, unlike you, working with swords isn't something he's good in, and so you manage to wrap your sword around his, making his grip loose so far that it falls out of his hands.

His phoenix who was standing behind him and burning down whatever they saw, now turned around too and opened it's beak, fire burning in the back of it's throat. Your eyes widen, but before harm can actually cove to you, there's a stone wall in front of you. Protecting you from the hot, burning flames.

You look at your side to see Namjoon, who's bend the earth.

" Hurry up. I don't know how long I can hold it." He grits out, eyes burning in concentration.

You turn back to whatever's behind you again.

" Listen, I know it's scary, but please show yourself so we can lead you out of here." You plead.

Barely a moment later, the camouflage falls off, and a green brown, feathery wing raises up to show a young little girl, tucked away in a phoenix's side.

Never before have you seen a phoenix which is able to camouflage, it's the first time you met a phoenix type which isn't connected to the element fire, but earth instead.

Both are most probably not older than 8, which means that the phoenix is not strong enough yet to carry it's soulmate's weight.

You smile at them and whistle to Beansprout, who's quickly by your side.

You gently sush the girl as Beansprout turns his fire down, before helping her on his back. You inform the phoenix to follow before you rise back up into the sky.

As soon as you kick off the ground, the phoenix is out of your sight, and the girl in your arms is glitching between her normal skin colour and Beansprout's.

Namjoon drops the wall and all of you get out of there.

You look behind you one last time with a sad expression, so far your home.

“Seriously, Jin?”

Your fiancé had tried to sneak in through the direct entrance to his lab at Kim Tower but you were already there waiting for him. With one hand on your hip, you raised an eyebrow in question at the love of your life while still waiting for an answer.

“Y/N, listen - I finally enhanced the aerodynamics on my suit for thirty-eight percent more efficiency. Not that there was any doubt that it wouldn’t work, I’m a genius after all.”

You were clearly not amused judging by the expression on your face.

“Jarvis, back me up here.”

“Jarvis can’t back you up here. You promised you wouldn’t be late this year, Jin. It’s your own freaking holiday party for crying out loud!”

“Ah, indeed it is. I should get a free pass since I own Kim Industries, right?” Jin gave you a sly smirk as he walked up to you. Using both hands, he grabbed you by the hips and pulled you in for a searing kiss. “Did I mention you look absolutely stunning tonight, Y/N?”

“Just get dressed, Jin. In a regular suit that normal people wear. I don’t even want to hear you mention Iron Man for the rest of the night.” Your tone was stern but the blush on your cheeks gave you away.

“Your wish is my command, Y/N.” Jin shot you a quick wink and flying kiss as he walked away.

Min Yoongi

“I think this will be my best story yet. Already fourteen women have come forward with accusations and four of them have agreed to do an exclusive interview with me… Yoongi? Are you even listening?”

You looked back at your boyfriend who had stopped in his tracks.

It wasn’t easy to spend time together with your boyfriend. Both of you were investigative journalists at the same newspaper company where you two met. You were career driven and often spent long hours at the office. As for your boyfriend, however…

Min Yoongi just so happened to be a superhero. But not just any superhero – Superman. His efforts were divided between his job at the paper, protecting his identity and saving the world.

This was the first time in nearly a week that the two of you had time to see each other.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N. I have to go. I can hear someone calling out for help.”

These sorts of things happened quite frequently but you never faulted Yoongi for it. He was given great powers and chose to do good with them. You leaned forward to give him a soft kiss goodbye.

“I understand, you don’t need to explain.” You assured him before promptly holding out your hand. Yoongi gave you a questioning look. “Your glasses, Yoongi. Can’t have you exposing your identity now, can we?”

A wide gummy smile stretched across Yoongi’s lips as he leaned forward for one more quick kiss.

“This is why I love you, Y/N.” A few moments later, the all-too familiar expressions were heard all around you.

“Is that a bird?”

“Is that a plane?”

“No, it’s Superman!”

Jung Hoseok

“All I’m saying is that I would appreciate it if you cleaned up a bit more around the house.”

“Really? Do you really think this is the right time to talk about my hygiene habits? Duck.”

Hoseok did as he was told, crouching low to the ground which allowed you to land a solid punch to the henchman’s face.

“Well, I knew you’d react like this so I figured it was as good of a time as any. To your left.”

You dodged a hit just in time as Hoseok sent the villain flying into the wall with a well-aimed kick. With a few more well-placed hits and kicks, all the henchmen were officially knocked out.

“You knew I’d react like this? Just for that, you can round up all these losers for the police. I’ll go defuse the bomb.”

Hoseok tried to grab your wrist but your hyper-elasticity allowed you to continue walking away.

“Oh, come on, Y/N! I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean that. Don’t walk away from me,” he pouted. You were a sucker for Hoseok’s pout and he knew it. Deciding that you had given him a hard-enough time, you walked back to him. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you pulled him in for kiss.

“We make an incredible team, don’t you think?” Hoseok beamed afterwards, arms still wrapped tightly around your waist. You laughed openly at his attempt to be funny.

“Even when I don’t clean up around the house?” You teased.

“Well, all superheroes have a weakness. Yours just happens to be household chores.”

You punched him in the arm for that one. Hoseok apologized by peppering kisses all over your face.

“Okay, okay!” You laughed. “I’ll forgive you this time. But seriously, you have to let me go now or that bomb’s going to detonate.”

“Oh, right. We should probably take care of that. Man, you’re so hot when you get down to business.”

You threw a coy look over your shoulder just to get a laugh out of Hoseok.

“Just for you, Mr. Incredible.”

Kim Namjoon

“So, let me get this straight. After losing your ability to perform surgeries, you decided to go out on a limb and trusted some whacko that said he used magic to get back the use of his arms and legs. You somehow trained to become sort of sorcerer where you fought the ruler of an alternate dimension which is how you ended up on my surgical table half-dead. Now the world is at peace again and you’ve taken up a new profession as this Sorcerer Supreme or whatever.”

Namjoon nods along as you summarize everything that he just told you.

“And now you want to get back together?”

Namjoon nods again, directing a hopeful look at you.

“Kim Namjoon, are you freaking kidding me?!” You explode, slamming both hands on the table. Startled, Namjoon nearly falls out of his seat.

“I cannot believe what I’m hearing right now. You showed up nearly dead and then disappeared again for weeks. Do you know how worried I was about you?”

‘Y/N, please, I…”

“And now, you show up on my front door and have the nerve to ask me if we can get back together? Are you sure you graduated from med school?”

“So, I take it that’s a no…?”

You reached across the table to grab Namjoon by the collar of his shirt, slightly pulling him out of his seat. Closing your eyes, you drew him in for a hard-searing kiss which he eagerly reciprocated. When the two of you finally broke apart, Namjoon was sporting the wisest grin.

“But if you ever scare me like that again, I’ll save your life just to kill you myself.”

“Whatever you say, Y/N,” Namjoon grinned before pulling you in for another kiss.

⇢ soooo...i’ve been reading a lot of fanmade mangas online

⇢ because...quarantine

⇢ anyway! there’s a particular manga that I’m currently addicted to right now

⇢ it’s called ‘The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion’

⇢ check it out- the plot is AMAZING and the characters are so easy to like and, to some in particular, hate.

⇢ while i was fangirling over fictional characters (unsurprisingly), i started to replace the male lead’s face with a certain Kim Seokjin and it’s never been able to leave my mind since!

⇢ hence why i’m here to ramble about a potential lengthy oneshot/twoshot/multichapter

⇢ i’m writing this at midnight - almost one in the morning - and i haven’t done too much research into the victorian england settings so please excuse inaccuracies in historical references

⇢ so! let me set the scene...

⇢ Kim Seokjin is a Duke- a very powerful one, more powerful than most dukes but that’s because he’s related to the king (Kim Taehyung). they are actually brothers.

⇢ considering his age, jin should have been the one to inherit the throne but taehyung got it instead bc jin was an illegitimate child

⇢ this doesn’t affect taehyung and jin’s relationship, however, they both get along well so (most) people are able to overlook the fact that jin is an illegitimate child

⇢ Jin is polite and put together and very very very handsome.

⇢ he’s a number one bachelor! so ladies are always chasing after him.

⇢ some are so desperate for his love and attention that they ask sorcerers to cast forbidden love spells that don’t get them anywhere bc he’s smarter than that

⇢ and he also has a friend/cousin (Kim Namjoon) who is not only his partner in business but a dear friend who knows a lot about sorcery

⇢ so namjoon has been able to keep him out of harms way as well as teach him about the sorcery to be able to knowingly defend himself against them

⇢ jin is fair in the decisions he makes considering his status and power but that doesn’t mean everyone likes him

⇢ those that try to climb the social ladder unfairly, he immediately strikes down - sometimes he does so in unfair ways but nobody really cares for the person trying to cheat the game and only praise jin for getting rid of garbage

⇢ in this au, jin is a bit two-faced, primarily becuase of his status and buisness. he needs to be able to gain peoples trust and put up with disgusting individuals so he’s become renowned for his ‘smile’

⇢ his ‘smile’ isn’t friendly but it’s not entirely sinister either. it’s a terrifying balance of the two that only he is able to perfectly demonstrate

⇢ others that try to copy his smile only look...ugly and, somewhat, constipated

⇢ despite the amount of girls that flock towards him, he isn’t married or engaged yet.

⇢ but then, reader comes along and gives him an offer that he can’t resist (i don’t know what that is yet) so they make a contract for half a year to pretend believably that they are engaged.

⇢ this will be beneficial for both sides bc jin can keep girls away from him so he can efficiently do work whilst reader...

⇢ (i don’t really know the reason yet but i’ll figure it out - i don’t want to entirely copy the manga i read)

⇢ because jin is such a powerful duke, he has a team of skilled fighters (yoongi, jimin, jungkook) who reader gets along well with the instant they meet

⇢ hoseok is the sophisticated but smiley butler in charge of running the mansion in place of jin when he isn’t around or is busy

⇢ the man is professional but can be a very unforgettable character at times - he always starts rambling on and on about famous waltzes whenever there��s a moment of silence

⇢ obviously, the more time jin and reader spend together, the more they start to fall for one another but a contract is still a contract and it has a time limit

⇢ jin, who once thought he was incapable/didn’t want to love, was starting to fall in love whilst reader is in complete denial.

⇢ you try your best to keep from falling in love but you can’t

⇢ the question is, is their developing love strong enough to outlast the contract and become a real couple? or will many obstacles (people - even themselves) get in the way of that?

*this finally gets you out of bed because the two of you had just announced your sudden engagement the night before after discussing the deal - you rush downstairs after getting ready and see jin in his handsome, broad-shouldered glory, holding a bouquet of flowers and dressed in a crisp black suit*

jin: good morning darling, i hope you only experienced pleasant dreams last night *smiles beautifully but you know it’s fake*

you: *whispering* don’t call me darling

jin: but you will soon be my wife, why can’t i call you darling? *smirks as he sees your parents peek in through the door way*

you: *see your parents and act along with him* i just wanted to be the one to call you that darling

jin: *grins widely and nods* then allow me to address you by ‘my love’, instead

Kim Namjoon : Philosopher / Theologian

This tall man greeted you with a warm smile since day 1.

And became your tutor after day 1 as well.He saw you struggle a lot with life especially understanding and reading.Jin told him to take care of you with that.

“Mr...nam-” “Call me namjoon and please suite yourself comfortably..”

He didn’t really like being formal even when he was an important figure. Who would dared to call him his real name only when he was one of famous philosophers in the kingdom.

He got that from his father,intelligence.Spending time in library and council for your whole childhood would give you the same result.

You loved his dimples. (a/n : who doesn’t?) You was easily fluttered with his dimples when you first arrived.

Kim Seokjin : Esquire

A young man who caught you red hand.When you entered the land,his manor was the first place you arrived.

Indeed god-like,you’ve never met someone like him before.You could tell he was one of a kind.

He was rich of course even with the young age.Being a noble in this age was something you respected him.He told it was nothing when for you it would take you next life or maybe million lives to get the luck.

He then introduced you to his 6 companions,his friends.They were all nice to you and didn’t judge you.They seemed not caring the fact of you illegally crossed the boarder. “You have your own reasons which one day we’ll know it,right?”

He was well-mannered so do the others.In the manor,not only him was kind to you.Every butlers and maids acted kindly as well.You then found out that they were also like you.

And from that point,you decided to open up yourself.

Min Yoongi : Composer

The best composer you could find in this capital.

He stayed quiet all the time which freaked you out at first.Later on you learned that it was just his personality.

He didn’t talk much,but when he talked, it was important.Everyone always listened to him because Namjoon once said that he was a secretly genius. You didn’t understand the meaning,but you always listened. “It’s a habit.”

He loved piano since it was the first instrument he played.The instrument held his favourite memory with his mother.

He didn’t like to get interrupt especially when he worked.You got scold by him once.Literally that made you cry.Hoseok and Taehyung tried to comforst you.That incident was a mess.

Even though,he came to face you next day and said sorry.You made sure that you wouldn’t disturb his work time ever again.

Jung Hoseok : Blacksmith

He was a famous son of Jung,the blacksmith.His family served Jin’s family since their grandparents generation.

That made him and Jin spent a lot of time togather in childhood and ended up being friends / brothers.

Blacksmith supposed to be serious or so you thought.He was loud noisy guy when he worked.Making sound for every second here and there.

Made him turning his serious mode on and you would regret it.

He wasn’t only good at making weapons.He knew how to use them,all of them.This guy was actually more dangerous than you thought.One advice from you would be ‘don’t underestimate that harmless look’.

Other than that,he was a sweat and warmheart.

Park Jimin : Wool stapler

This guy was as fluffy as the wool he sold in the city.

He was born in a lower income family comparing to other merchant families.However,he enjoyed his life.From this point,it was the reason he understood you the most.

The group never judged people with ranking and wealth anyway.He was lucky to find these guys.His anxiety faded away.

He loved sheeps and had a best friend among them.He named his favourite one ‘Cloudy’ since it furs was thick and grey like cloudy weather.

The most precious boy alived.He was an ‘innocent holy child’ which described by Jin.He was shy.First meeting with him was a bit akward since he spoke with his soft voice.

When he madded,it was like another ‘Jimin’ popped up.He wouldn’t act like himself at all.Rather being gentle,he would be tough with everyone.

Kim Taehyung : Banisher

Under the manor,there was a secret tunnel.Jin made sure it kept from everyone in this capital except his friends.

And when you arrived,he introduced this place to you.

There was a man lived under the manor ground as if it was his home.You were shock by the scene of this place.Dark and damp tunnel was a liveable home for someone?

And by another god-like feature

Not even butlers and maids came down here.Jin must trust you a lot to send you down here.You learned his name was ‘Taehyung’ and he used to be a sorcerer. “But, most would call me a banisher.”

One day his spell gone wrong and turned him into a beast.He got banish from the capital,but Jin insisted him to stay down here. That’s the story. You learned a lot about him and oddly you two got along.

Jeon Jungkook : Painter

A young artist born in a wealthy family like Seokjin.

A Social butterfly, lover and Playboy were a top three reputation people would think of when someone brought his name into a conversation.

Despite that,he was talent,too talent sometimes.Jin appreciated his work though and sometimes hung them on his manor wall.Jungkook was like a son to him. “No I’m not.” “Come here,little kookie.”

Remember about his reputation,you didn’t believe it.Not when he shyly spoke to you and hid behind Namjoon back when you guys first met.

He could be a fool yet you didn’t mind.Fooling around like 5-6 years old. You then came to find the truth that he never had a chance.

A student along side with you in Namjoon’s class.The others teased him about it a lot.Telling you because of Namjoon,he didn’t like to get any girl. Namjoon would laugh about it while Jungkook would hunt others down.

A/N: Hoseok and Jimin are introduced in this chapter + yoongi n tae have the hots for them but anyhoo--

“I’m still not sure about this Taehyung.” Yoongi paces around in the study. It’s littered with spell books and hex bags, much like the rest of this cave-like home. “We haven’t worked with anyone else since the Werewolf incident in ‘43.”

“You do make a compelling argument,” Taehyung nods thoughtfully. He shudders for a moment, recalling vivid memories that you and Namjoon could only assume was from the incident. “What was I supposed to do though, let him eat me??”

“No that’s-- you know what? If you had just given him your left pinky toe, none of it would’ve happened!” Yoongi interjects.

You and Namjoon watch the two of them bicker with each other whilst you’re sat at the lavish table. The tabletop is sleek and smooth, with a soft glow illuminating the surface. Namjoon is sipping on an herbal tea he was offered, and you sit stiff in your armor. Namjoon and Taehyung talked earlier, trying to catch up on each other’s lives.

A part of you feels like a fool; you’re sitting here with a couple of magic users and the dragon you were supposed to kill. Back at the castle, magic and things alike were strictly forbidden. Breaking orders was strictly forbidden. But here it felt like you finally belonged somewhere. Namjoon treated you so kindly, and the heavy guilt of almost murdering him was too much to just leave alone. This was just your way of repaying him. Afterwards, maybe you could continue serving as a knight in the next territory over, and restart your life there.

“---ugh, fine.” Yoongi grumbles,”and you better wipe that stupid grin off of your face, or else.”

“Or else what?”

Yoongi’s black attire reminded you of grim reapers in old fables you read when you were young. His pouty lips and soft complexion compared to his ensemble was a juxtaposition in itself. “Or else I’ll throw you back into the year 2020.”

Taehyung’s smile drops, and horror filled every pore on his face. You want to question about what was so bad about the year 2020, but Taehyung clears his throat and changes the subject. “So, dearest brother, are we really going to uh,” His voice falters,”...murder him?”

Namjoon sets down the drink he’d been nursing all afternoon and stands up. “I was hoping we could work around it.” He says. You wonder what he’s thinking about as you stare up into his eyes. Even when King Kim betrayed his own flesh and blood, here they were, still hoping they could forgive him. “Most curses work like that, but I’m pretty sure this one is old and complex magic.”

“Yeah, as much as I hate him,” a huff comes from Taehyung’s nose, like a barely there laugh,” I’d rather not have to kill him.”

“Bummer,” Yoongi shifts in his seat that he’s taken across from you. “And I’m guessing we need to pull out the original spell book?”

Yoongi rolls his eyes when Namjoon nods at him in response. You hear him grumbling incoherently to himself as he gets up to retrieve the book. When he comes back, he opens up the pages. “..Hey, it says here that there isn’t a cure.”

Taehyung ponders over the predicament. His face lights up,” What about The Book of the Damned?” Yoongi is immediately shaking his head, trying to refuse.

“Whats that?” Namjoon asks.

“Some crazy witch hag made a book that undoes uncurable curses.” Yoongi answers. “It’s extremely sketchy, and not to mention really uncomfortable to look at. Each page is made out of human skin.” He shudders.

“It’s worth a shot though,” you look at him,”It wouldn’t hurt to at least look.”

Taehyung starts pulling out five other books,” We’re gonna have to decipher it.” He calls out. Hours and hours of endless research later, the words start to reveal themselves. “--it’s definitely not going to be easy,” he quips as he reads over Yoongi’s shoulder.

In return, Yoongi scoffs,” Yeah, tell me about it. Where the hell are we going to get these ingredients? Wild Ashrier and Edreet are extinct, last time I checked. I really don’t think time travel is a good idea right now.”

“That never stopped you from craving that big slushie from Buc-ee’s, though?”

“Shut up.”

At this point, You and Namjoon have given up trying to understand their meaningless arguments. Taehyung had tried to explain to you what a minecraft was, but your head started to pound so bad that you couldn’t listen to it anymore. Wild Ashrier and Edreet did sound familiar though, but where have you heard it before?

“I got it!” You stand up, garnering the immediate attention of your peers. “I know a botanist just outside of Cromerth that has those plants!”

“Really?” Taehyung looks at you incredulously. His eyes are wide as he looked between you and Yoongi’s (also) shocked face. “...but how?”

“King Kim made me investigate for prohibited herbs.” You laughed. “They were very upfront about how they used their plants, and none of the items were explicitly banned, so their business is still up and running.”

“Well, let’s go I guess?” Namjoon looks at you. His smile catches you off guard, and you wonder how Namjoon and the King could possibly be related. You’ve only seen frowns and (more often than not) fake laughter from your King, but with Namjoon, he’s nothing short of compassion and genuine kindness. He opens the door for you, and your footsteps slowly walk out.

“Okay lovebirds, let’s get going!” Yoongi rushes you out, and your attention snaps back to the world. You laugh and shrug, unsure of how to respond to a comment like that.

It was close enough to go by foot, so you four set out along the path heading towards your destination. You see Taehyung slip Namjoon a potion similar to the one at breakfast. He takes it, and you are touched that Taehyung had remembered even when he hasn’t seen his brother in so long. Cromerth is a busy and bustling town with tons of markets, so it’s no surprise when you pass by many different travellers along the route. When you see the sign indicating that Cromerth was up ahead, you take a left into the forest. Soon, a clearing opened up the vast field in front of you; a pretty little hut off in the distance.

You see one of the botanists in the front of the house tending to a garden. You wave to get his attention, and he waves back with enthusiasm. “Jimin, it’s so good to see you again!” You beamed.

“Likewise, Lady Y/n.” A pleasant smile graces you, and you notice the bundle of plants he just harvested. It’s a vibrant red and orange flower which would make great color dyes. “What brings you and your companions here? Not another inspection, I hope.” He laughs.

“You called?” Hoseok pokes his head out from the open window. His face is covered in black streaks and sweat, but there’s only positivity radiating from him. “Oh! Lady Y/n!” He scrambles back inside and bursts through the front door.

“Jimin, Hoseok,” You nod to them and gesture to the others,” These are my new friends, Yoongi, Taehyung, and Namjoon.”

Yoongi isn’t making eye contact, but you can see a blush that’s crept up onto his cheeks. Taehyung’s cheeks are also tinted a red hue, but he’s grinning from ear to ear. “A pleasure to meet you two,” he breathes out.

You chuckle to yourself when your eyes catch Namjoon’s. He’s looking at you with the same foolish face you find attractive, so you tear your gaze away. “I remembered from our last run in that you sell Wild Ashrier and Edreet, correct?”

“You aren’t going to confiscate those, are you?” Hoseok gives you a questionable glance, but you know he’s only joking. “It’s a little out of season, but I take good care of my babies so they’re good all year ‘round.”

“...could I be his baby?” Yoongi mutters. No one else seems to have heard it, but you sure did since you’re standing right next to him. You stifle your laughter when you see how shy he’s become.

“Yes, Yoongi here,” You nudge him a little closer into the group, surprised at the lack of witty remarks. “--he’s a sorcerer. We’re trying to gather ingredients to work a spell.”

Jimin glances at Hoseok,” but those ingredients only do spells that are..” He looks at you. “You’re gonna want us for more than just plants, y/n.”

You look at him, confusion written across your face. “What for?”

“That’s something we’d like to know.” Hoseok replies. He motions for all of you to come inside the hut, which surprisingly, was very spacious on the inside.

After seeking consent from your peers, you relay the events of yesterday. “So you’re telling me, King Kim isn’t the real king? And that Namjoon and Taehyung are actually royalty, but they’ve been kicked out of the castle?” Hoseok is absolutely reeling from shock.

“--and the spell that you’re working, do you know what’ll happen afterwards? Magic like that always comes with a price, you know.” Jimin says.

“We haven’t uh, decoded it that far yet,” Taehyung adds in sheepishly. “we planned to after we met with you today, though.”

“The sun is starting to set, we should probably head back.” Namjoon says as he looks out the window. Indeed, the sun was starting to set, and it’d be much harder to travel during the night time.

“We’ll pack our things and gather the ingredients,” Hoseok stand up from his seat. “Is there a place that we can stay?”

“My place is too small for all of us..” Yoongi sighs.

“Yeah, and I don’t think I can bring all of you to the castle,” You chuckle lightly.

“If we make a stop for Yoongi and Taehyung to pack, we can stay at my place?” Namjoon offers to the team, and it settles the stirring question. Everyone agrees and in a short amount of time, you are all back in Namjoon’s humble abode.

Demons... what do you know about them? Well, in this world people have powers, or more like a role. There are 5 different "roles" that you can have. One - Demon, Two - Sorcerer Three - Witch Four - Angel Five - Human. Each one is different. There's a school that you have to go through in order to be licensed in it. It's called, The School For Inhuman People. What role do some people have? Humans can't enter, of course, but there's this one person that makes everyone mad at. Why does he have this aura that no one knows? Who is he? Is he even allowed there? Is he just human? Or is he something more? Six and some more people come in and find out who this kid is while school lasts.
