Yandere! Suyin Beifong Headcanons
Tumblr media
You weren't fond of Su when you both were younger
You thought she was spoiled and got away with everything
When Su got involved with the Terra Triad, she told you, thinking it was cool and impressive
It was quite the opposite. You told her they were terrorist and you couldn't believe she would join such a group
She was frustrated that you didn't understand
The group fills her mind with nonsense and fuels her yandere tendencies
When her mother sends her away, she is furious. She won't be able to see you, but you don't want to see her
You don't see each other until you're both young adults
She had changed and she reached out to you to come visit the city of Zaofu
You were hoping for the best, so you agreed to come
Little did you know it was a trap
You ended up getting hurt pretty badly and she offered you to stay
Though, you never get better. She keeps you sick by putting stuff in your food
Anytime you start getting better, you're hit by an even worse sickness
You practically become entirely dependent on Su
You feel bad, but she doesn't mind. In fact, she loves taking care of you
You do end up developing a sort of Stockholm Syndrome and when you do, Su slowly stops poisoning you
And when you're finally better again, your relationship with Su begins to develop and bloom

„ su I want to eat that also! And why is my meal different from all of you!?” you ask your wife while looking at her furious. Pregnancy made you mood swings and food cravings weird cravings and morning sickness but you were lucky that you have your wife and your kids there for you to comfort you.
„ dear you know you can't eat this so this meal of yours is very healthy for you and our baby girl.” she gave your belly a gently rub and smiled at your big belly.
„ no! I want that though please love!” you plead she shookly her head and shaking her hand to infront of your own face.
She gave you a deadpan face and saying to everyone at the dining room to continue to eat.
After you ate you didn't actually finish your food and you ate unhappily you carefully sat on the bench and let out a breath. Since you woke up you felt kind of weak in your stomach but you just shrug it off maybe just because of your back.
You look around your direction you were loving the view infront of you but the thing has been on your mind for a while but you and Suyin never really talk it about.
Before you made your next movement you felt a hands onto your shoulders you tilt your head to feel their touch you knew who it was, it's was Suyin you knew because of her perfume she always use you thought back then why she didn't always left one of those perfumes she have.
Why ask though? She's a Beifong their family is rich super rich If I would say.
„ You feeling any better dear?” you nodded then her hands slip away from your shoulders you whine missing her touches.
She sat besides you and you gave her a kiss on the cheek you saw a light blush on to her cheeks you both smile at each other.
„ Suyin I know you've been busy for the last few weeks but we haven't talked about what should we name out daughter.” you worriedly say and she look like she was thinking something or something to say.
„ you are right my love, well what do you want to name her?” you sigh and took her hand onto your belly and you both gently rub it together.
„ I don't know I thought you want to name her or you have already thought of a name.” you pout she quickly brush it away just by giving you a peck on the lip.
„ sorry dear but I haven't don't worry we still have a time left alright?”
„ alright.” after your short conversation with your wife you both go on to your routine where you would plant or water your little garden and Suyin would dance and do her paperworks after that you made your way to the dining room.
You were walking carefully because you were just by your self but the last few months Suyin would always be there at your side she wouldn't do her work because she was super over protective and worried to you because it was your first pregnancy but you made her sure that you're fine.
The doctor says your suppose to be due in two day or one day so all of the family are very careful with you.
You walk past through a open door but you move backwards again you saw it was Kuvira you smile softly before making your path through her.
Kuvira was the first one you had been always close with she was the one who made you comfortable in the Zaofu and teaching you how to dance for a little bit.
„ Hello there vira.” she jump away from shock it made you laugh hard.
She groan in frustration and turn to look at you you wave at her and sent a soft smile in return she gave you a playfully roll eyes.
„ what now?” you huff in her response when your beside her now you playfully nudge her arm.
„ why I can't say hi to my beautiful daughter?” you smirk and wiggle your brows she just scoff and look down to your body and stop at the sight of your big belly.
„ oh please! How about you being pregnant?” you gave her a sad smile and your hand made their way to your belly and you gently rub your own belly.
„ fine I guess I'm suppose to be due in two days or tomorrow, who knows!” you sigh and looking to the view infront of you Kuvira seem to gets it.
„ So uhm..when are you going to visit them? Have you told su?” she worriedly ask you and you put your hands on your hair she knew it will made you stress if she ask you more questions.
„ no I mean— I don't vira what if my parents don't accept that the fact I married a Beifong and I'm now pregnant and they— we.....we didn't have any connections to each other..” Her hands rubs your shoulders she's making you comfortable but it doesn't seem to be working.
„ well how about your brother?” you stare at nothing for a moment then shrugging your shoulders.
This been going for many years before your got pregnant, married and even though dating Suyin, this is why you are now is Zaofu. You're own parents didn't expect for you to like women your own father and mother were disappointed and disgusted over you while your supportive older brother was there protect you and told you to be away for awhile. And you decided to visit a new city The Metal City. Zaofu.
Past;
You sat down beside your mother while your brother sat beside your father, you thought for a while that they should've known your secret so that they would know but you were to scared that they wouldn't accept for who you were. To be honest you weren't really that brave for yourself you can't even protect your own self.
„ so y/n I expect for you to get married soon to Kuyuno their very generous people their generation has been well nicely I rather say.” your father chuckled while your brother didn't have any reaction at all and your mother smiled beside to you.
You deeply sighed as you've been used to this they been wanting for you to get married 'soon' and start a new family since you were the youngest and your the only one who is a girl in your family to your brother they were doing the same also but after your brother got married her wife or your sister in law divorce him and your brother fell into a depression and you were by at his side all the time like you both used to do when you were kids.
Your brother cleared his throat and stare at you blankly but you know behind does is worried for you you sent him a nod and before turning to your parents.
„ Pa..ma...I need to tell you something.. important.. It's about me actually...” you father was about to drink a glass of water before he looks up to you and your mother turn around to see you.
They both ask what is it and you fidgets your hands but a hand stopped them you look up to your mother who is now staring at you worriedly. You're father was thinking many things in his head the first question was 'Are you pregnant?' you quickly shook your head definitely not pregnant.
„ I-...I don't want to get married at a man pa...has it been oblivious to both of you? I mean—I...I like women papa mama..and—” you slowly spoke and before you even finished your sentence a glass of water was thrown of a wall that shock all of you you all look up to see your father furious like his gonna destroy you're home.
„ What did you say?” he ask in a heavy breath this is what you've been scared of always.
He was about to punch the table a hand stopped him from doing it and you could saw your emotionless brother stopping him from doing it and push him down that made your father stumble your mother quickly got beside him.
„ run y/n I'll take care of this!” you hesitantly ran outside you quickly pulled the door open and all you could hear is your mother screaming for you and your brother and father yelling at each other.
After that eventful night you're grandmother let you stay at her house for awhile you told her what had happened and she told you that she didn't need to accept who you are because it's what you want and it's you're only choice if you like women then so be it.
Many days had passed and you're older brother came to you to sometimes bring a gift your your grandma and a food for you both since it's just the two of you staying at you're grandmother's house. You're brother told you that you shouldn't show up for awhile since your parents is still processing this.
You were watering you're grandma's plants since you were a kid you've always like plants good thing you're grandmother always let's you water the plants in her garden you're grandma was buying foods for the dinner and you turn your head to the clock and look at the time.
You expect for your grandma to show up but maybe you thought many people are buying groceries that's way.
Minutes went by you're grandma was back holding a plastic bags and some other bags that had many foods you quickly made your way over to her and took all the bags that is in her hands she gave you a small 'thank you' you gave her a soft smile.
„ now y/n come over here.” you obey your grandma's order and sat down beside her you saw in her hand that she has a paper a newspaper?
„ look over here sweetie..It says Metal City it's called Zaofu and they have a Dance Troupe!..y/n I've known you since you were born and I think you know what I meant y/n.” you stared at the newspaper reading the article and turning your head to her.
„ but grandma how about you though...even though you will be alone in this house.”
She told you she would be fine at these age of hers it's time for her to relax after the dinner and cleaning the dishes and the house you hop in to your bed the newspaper is still on your hand.
You stare at it then huffing, should you be really doing this you don't know you thought 'spirits help me'.
And when you found a place in Zaofu you tried talking to the metal people in there how you would you join to that troupe they nicely gave you instructions and go to the guards to talk to there Matriarch.
After you've joined the troupe Suyin had fallen head over heels for you and you are now dating secretly for now.
You're brother would often visit you secretly without Suyin knowing and the other kids but that's when Kuvira caught him she even thought she was a intruder but you quickly ran to her and apologize and told her that his your older brother and told her to keep it a secret for awhile.
After you're brothers visit Suyin have been suspecting you she even thought you were cheating at her.
She sent a guards running towards your brother who is scared and really too stunned to speak that made you woke up at the middle of the night and yes your brother visits you every night and sometimes that made you have eyebags.
„ S—...Suyin! Oh my spirits! Suyin that's enough Wha-what are you all doing?!” you yelled at them and you saw Kuvira beside Suyin who is scared to speak.
„ I erm..I tried telling to su but uhm..she didn't listen to me.” Kuvira slowly spoke and you told her to stop the guards to attack your brother she immediately understand and obeyed you.
After you introduced your brother to Suyin she immediately apologize to him she almost bow her head you told her to stop doing it and she was embarrassed what had just happened to her and your brother.
You're brother updated you always on his visits telling you how your grandma is doing and how your parents were doing.
After you're brother had left you hop again into the bed with Suyin she cuddle you and kissed your cheek.
Suyin ask why she hasn't met your parents and why was you're brother sneaking out to see you every night you hesitantly told her everything from the start you almost cried in her arms but she comforted you and hugged you the all night even morning.
And after Suyin had propose to you you told her you weren't ready to invite your parents and told her if it's fine that you're brother should be on the wedding she understoods why and she accepted what you wanted you're brother gave you a blessing.
Present;
After you have a dinner with your family you carefully layed down to the bed but ofcourse Suyin your kind wife help you lay down she then layed beside you. You both cuddle each other enjoying your peaceful moment.
„ Suyin I have something to tell you.” she stare at you worriedly she sat up the looking at you like you were a ghost.
„ is there something wrong? Are you hurt? Am I in trouble? Are you hungry?—” you shake your head them giggle at her questions she then ask why.
„ I think it's time su...I don't want our child to grow up not knowing their grandparents and that...we haven't great connection.” you sat down like she does and she stare at you like 'are you sure?' you just smile at her and then she nods in agreement.
„ I suppose that'll be good love, but right you need to sleep and rest you know I don't want to see you stress.” you playfully rolls your eyes before laying back down again.
You both sleep peacefully for hours just having this quiet and relaxing days will be enough for the both of you and you know that'll be all change when you born you're baby girl that is growing inside of you.
The next morning you have woken up seeing you're wife still asleep that's when you felt really weird like something had hurt your stomach you let out a shaky breath and do a exercise breathing it really does feel weird some painful had hurt the both of you and your baby.
You let out a ouch and heavy breaths that's when you realize it you quickly shook your wife beside you you scream her name and she quickly opened her eyes and turn to look at you. She saw you sweating and it seem like you had a hard time breathing she asked if there's something wrong to you you quickly shouted a no that you didn't know mean to shout.
And then she realizes that you're water broke she got up immediately and told you to stay and she will call the doctors you rapidly nodded at her and she made her way out of your shared bedroom after seconds you couldn't take it anymore.
You grip the ships so hard that you almost thought it will be ripped you didn't know that you'll be giving birth to your house you were expecting to be in hospital but that still not the matter right now.
You let out a shakely huff and you heard a loud thud you saw your wife running into you and told you the doctors is coming immediately you couldn't speak from the pain you just told her that it hurt so much that you will almost die.
You didn't expect for giving birth is so very hard that it will ripped you're vagina so bad.
You didn't remember what have happened after that just some short details you let out a scream and the doctors said keep pushing your almost there but Suyin wasn't your side you knew she is outside maybe panicking for the both of you and you're child.
After the final push you heard a baby crying it was beautiful sounds ever now you're a mother before the doctors could give you your baby they clean her and wash her they then gave you the baby carefully you felt so dizzy.
You gave you're newborn baby a lazy smile and you couldn't help but cries but you were so tired to even cry you didn't even notice that you had fallen asleep.
Now that you have woken up you're eyes opened slowly and all you could see around you is the Huan, Opal and Kuvira they didn't notice you to wake up but your body is responding that you can't wake up for now you let you're eyes slowly closed.
Soon after you woke up you could see Suyin you're wife is rubbing your hand and kissed it you couldn't help but smile at her she closed her eyes then staring up to see you awake her eyes began to widened.
She quickly pulled you into embrace which you tiredly accepted.
„ I love you so much suyin.”
„ I love you too so much to the moon and back my y/n.” you just chuckle at her response and looking around to see your surroundings.
„ wh-where's Raya?” Suyin raised an eyebrow at you and then it hit her she gave you a deadpan look.
„ you seriously gave her already a name without me.” you nodded proudly.
„ but seriously su where is she?” your insecurities began to rise up she cupped your cheeks and look at her.
„ Don't worry love she's with your parents probably playing with her right now.” you really can't believe what she had said you we too stunned to speak you gasped your eyes swelled up with tears your wife quickly brush it with her hands.
When you both heard the doors creek and opened you saw three figures and for many years you seen them again.
You saw you're own father holding his now grandchild rocking her gently your mother and your father stare at you proudly and your older brother gave you a tearful eyes and gave you a thumbs up.
You were greatful to have your little one because she changed you and between your family.

she’s a versatile switch who is happy to top or bottom depending on your preference
either way though she does tend to take the lead and try to guide you with gentle words and gentle hands
uses a lot of praise and encouragement during foreplay and sex
e.g. ‘there we go, good girl’, ‘just like that’, ‘you’re doing so well’, ‘you look so beautiful like this’ and so on
also big into body worship (giving and receiving) and can happily spend hours kissing and stimulating your body until you’re both too riled up to stop
she has a lot of experience under her belt, having had a bit of a promiscuous period during her time at the circus, meaning she knows exactly how to please a woman and she’s more than happy to share this knowledge with you
she also loves going down on you and will gladly stay on her knees in service until you’re begging for a break
as far as receiving oral goes, she’s also a big fan and will play with your hair and sing your praises when you eat her out — breathily moaning and whimpering all the while
she’s extremely vocal but not loud — talking lewdly and gently throughout and offering plenty of low, breathy moans that go straight to your core
very big on decorative bondage and other things that add a certain aesthetic beauty to sex — such as intricate lingerie, use of flower petals and so on
decorative bondage involves metal chains and handcuffs, of course — things she can control and easily remove in case the safe word is called
scented oil massages are a common form of foreplay and a good way to get her worked up as she can stress herself out quite a lot throughout the day
some light spanking is also something she can enjoy
aftercare with suyin is incredibly thorough, involving: hot baths, scented candles, fresh fruits, cold water and lots of massages and compliments as conversations
calls you ‘sweetheart’ and ‘darling’ in bed
her favourite positions involve you two being able to be close and that allow you both to move without much restriction
she has a large collection of toys that she’s more than happy to share: sucking toys, air pressure toys, vibrators, dildos, beads, and so on

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader) Part 25
CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD
Korra’s POV
The slam of the door echoes across the dining room followed by an intense silence. No-one says anything for a few seconds.
I turn to Suyin, giving her a sympathy gaze. “I am so sorry for that. That was uncalled for.”
“Apology accepted!” Varrick replies, voice loud and booming. “Now, if you all don’t mind, I’m going to dive right in. I’m famished!”
Ignoring the businessman, I continue staring at Suyin. The anger that was present within her eyes has now diminished.
“Is your friend normally like that?” She eventually asks, voice now calm and controlled.
I shake my head. “No. They aren’t.”
Looking back at the now closed door, I narrow my eyes in deep concentration.
Where did all of that come from? What was Y/N’s problem? Suyin has been nothing but kind to us! What they said about her was just mean! What’s gotten into them?
Ever since we’ve left Air Temple Island, Y/N has been acting…off. Something’s bothering them. I’ve been so busy on finding the airbenders that I’ve neglected my best friend’s feelings. Still, that’s no excuse to treat Suyin like that.
Sighing heavily, I turn back to my food. “I’ll have a word with them later when they’ve cooled off.”
“Make sure you do.” The matriarch replies, also turning her attention back to her food.
I still stare at my food, untouched for the past few minutes.
First Lin. Now Y/N?
Can things get any worse?
Y/N’S POV
I storm through the corridors of the maze-like building, hoping to find a way out of this obnoxious place. My fiery rage from my debate with the matriarch still goes strong. If anything, the anger is amplifying.
Each step I take, the flames within grow. Each step I take, the dragon’s voice at the back at my mind becomes louder and louder and louder.
Suyin is corrupt. Just like the Earth Queen. Just like Tarrlok and most of the Republic City Council were. They are all the same.
No, stop it.
Stop denying. You know it’s true. Suyin puts on a noble façade with a fake smile, but she is just as bad. Maybe even worse.
No! Tarrlok and most of the City Council treated all non-benders like they were Equalists! The Earth Queen rules with an iron fist and treats her people like they’re objects! Suyin doesn’t do that!
Suyin’s methods are different, but her rule is the same tiresome, infuriating theme as theirs. Arrogant, self-absorbed egomaniacs who attempt to make their vision a reality whether the public like it or not. Tarrlok tried to be Republic City’s saviour and ended up as bad as his father, but he never sugar-coated his actions. He accepted them for what they were. The Earth Queen doesn’t hide her true self either. She is what she is and she’s proud of it. But Suyin? Either she’s oblivious and painfully unaware of who she really is or she’s lying to herself. She hides her true self. She phrases her actions as kindness and honourable. That is why she’s worse.
I said stop!
Suyin has the majority wrapped around her little finger.
Her family.
Her city.
Asami.
Bolin.
Mako.
Korra-
STOP!
The intrusive thoughts, the dragon, goes dead silent.
I slow down my steps, the door to the outside in my vision.
Suyin is flawed, hypocritical, and arrogant, but she isn’t as bad as the others. She’s trying to bring a positive force. She leads a beautiful city and has an amazing family. She’s flawed, not evil. Flawed, not evil. Flawed, not evil.
This time, the dragon is dead silent.
Good.
The anger, while still present, has diminished slightly.
I just need some fresh air. Yeah, some fresh air. Maybe I can leave the city and explore one of the nearby mountains. Go and walk around the natural environments. Yeah, that will be nice. Calm. Peaceful and relaxing. When, I’m done I will go to bed. Yeah, that sounds nice.
Taking a deep, long, breath and releasing it in a soothing exhale I open the doors, expecting to see the starry night sky…
Only to see metal surrounding the sky!
WHAT?!
Domes surround the city when its night?!
DAMMIT!
“UGH!” I groan loudly, throwing my arms into the air. “I can’t even look at the stars now?!”
First no secrets at all, then not allowing Opal to leave, then Varrick, and now I can’t even see the night sky?!
I march around the area, not really paying any attention to my surroundings, until I eventually reach to some sort of metal bench. Sitting down with a loud huff, I bury my face into my palms and rub them against my features rapidly.
I thought getting airbending was a dream come true. In my early childhood I longed to have bending. Now I get what my toddler-self wished for and everything goes downhill. First, my parents. Then, the Earth Queen and her corruption. Then this Zaheer and a bunch of criminals. Now this.
What’s worse is none of my friends even seem to care. Not even Korra, my best friend. Sure, we haven’t always seen eye to eye but our differences in our beliefs haven’t always been this stark.
There’s got to be someone who gets what I’m saying, right?
“Excuse me, are you all right?”
I whip my head upwards and see on of the Zaofu guards standing before me. She’s wearing big metal plates covering her form, her helmet with three dagger-like spikes on it covering most of her head. However, I notice her grass pupils and a tiny black mole underneath her right eye.
“Uh, yeah.” I tell her, dropping my hands back onto my knees. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
The expression on the guard’s face doesn’t change in the slightest. “Do you wish to be escorted back to the dining room of the Beifong Household?”
“No!” I rush out, causing the guard to jump back slightly in surprise. I regain my composure and respond in a more controlled manner. “No, I’m fine. That is the last thing I want to go right now.”
This time, I see a flash of curiosity painted across the guard’s face. “Is there a problem?”
I sigh. “To be blunt, I had an argument with your matriarch.”
Her expression, again, changes very little. All I see is a slight frown. “I see.”
Shit, did I make her mad? Oh, who am I kidding? Suyin is the city’s leader! Of course, her guards are going to be mad!
Rising from my bench and dusting off my clothes, I face the guard. “I hope I didn’t intrude or disturb you from your duties. I just wanted to have some fresh air but, much to my disappointment, I was greeted by the metal domes.”
“I understand your frustration.” She sympathises, her tone having no trace of anger or annoyance from my earlier comments. “However, they are a vital addition to the security of Zaofu. It helps keep the public protected.”
“Yes, of course.” I reply. “Suyin called it the safest city in the world. However, I fear she has sacrificed some freedom for maximum security.” Knowing who I am talking to, I raise my hands in an apologetic gesture. “Not to discredit your job and your effectiveness, I’m sure you and the rest of the guards are great, but surely you can understand what I’m saying, right?”
The guard doesn’t respond for a moment, her face neutral. I can almost hear the cogs turning in her head.
“I do.” She finally says. “However, I believe that it is necessary. Without that protection, our freedom can easily be taken away.”
Hm. An interesting perspective.
I nod in understanding. “I get that. Still, I just find it frustrating. Doesn’t help that Varrick is here.”
As soon as the name of the businessman leaves my lips, I notice it. A flicker of irritation in the guard’s pupils.
“The…inventor, right?” she asks, voice gruff.
I hum in confirmation. “After all the shit he’s done, he gets away with it all and ends up living the life here. It’s a misuse of justice. That’s what my argument with Suyin was about. She wouldn’t hear any of it. Even my friends wouldn’t listen. Not a single person agreed with me. It’s frustrating!”
Finishing my rant, I notice the guard staring at me with…curiosity? Familiarity? Something else entirely?
I let out a tense breath, scratching the back of my head. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant to you. I’ll leave you back to your duties.”
“I agree.”
Huh?
I whip back to the guard. Her face is once again neutral.
“I’m sorry?”
“I agree with you.”
“Oh…”
I open my mouth but close it again having failed to find my words. After a quick swallow, I speak up once more with confusion. “I…I was under the impression you would have sided with your matriarch.”
Then, much to my surprise, a pretty smirk forms on her lips. “I may be Suyin’s guard, but I don’t believe in everything she does. I am a person, after all.”
Oh…well, that’s true.
Chuckling with a sheepish smile, I cross my arms together. “I guess so. And who is the person I am talking to?
Her smirk widens slightly, and she stretches out her hand.
“Kuvira.”
I take her hand.
“Y/N.”
“I know. Suyin had me do a background check on you and your friends.”
“Oh…yeah. Forgot about that.”
She chuckles. It’s nice.
When the handshake ends, I gaze back at the buildings at the edge of the dome.
“I should probably head to bed.” I tell her. I gaze back Kuvira and give her a small smile. “It was nice meeting you. It’s refreshing to find a like-minded individual.”
Kuvira smiles in return. “The feeling is mutual. Perhaps, we could meet again the following day?”
My eyebrows perk up in surprise. She wants to hang out? Well, it will be better than dealing with awkwardness with me and the others whilst meeting a new friend. Plus, maybe I can get to learn more about Zaofu.
“Sure!” I tell her. “Where and when?”
“Here at nine?”
“An early bird, huh?”
“That is required when you have a job like mine.”
“Indeed. See you at nine, Kuvira.”
“And I you, Y/N.”
We exchange goodbyes and, just like that, we head our separate ways. Kuvira is probably going back on her patrol whilst I walk to my guest room.
At least one good thing came out of tonight.
That good mood didn’t last long, though. Soon after I return to my room, I am interrupted with some pounding knocks.
“Y/N, we need to talk.”
Shit. It’s Korra.
Sighing heavily, I slowly but surely walk up to the door and open it and in front of me I see a very pissed Korra.
“That was out of order, Y/N. What in the spirits were you thinking?!”
Frowning slightly, I cross my arms. “What I was thinking was giving Suyin some rightfully deserved criticism. It’s about time someone gave her the harsh reality.”
My response only seems to anger Korra who places a hand on her hips. “What you did was humiliate her in front of her family. She was trying to do something good, and you threw it in her face.”
Something good? Seriously?!
“You’re telling me after everything Varrick has done you are okay with him escaping punishment?” I ask her. “You were there when he bombed the Southern Water Tribe Cultural Center. So many people could have been hurt!”
The features of my best friend’s face softens slightly. “I was confused initially and I see where you’re coming from. But Suyin is trying to better Varrick and Zaofu by-“
“-Don’t give me that!” I interrupt, throwing my arms up in the air. “She’s doing it for herself.”
The softness on Korra’s face hardens once more. “Varrick is leading her technology division that can benefit the city and its people.”
“Which will benefit Suyin and her reputation.” I counter smoothly. “I see through her act.”
“You think too lowly of her.”
“And you think too highly of her.”
We both go dead silent for an intense moment. The air is thick and suffocating.
I let out a deep and heavy breathe, rubbing my hair with my palm. “I don’t want to end our night in a fight.”
Korra’s face softens once more and her gaze casts downward. “Me neither. Things are already awkward with Lin and Suyin. I don’t want things to be awkward between us too.”
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I let out yet another sigh. “Look, I won’t apologise to Suyin. I think she deserved it. However, I’ll try to tolerate her while we’re still in Zaofu. For you.”
Looking back up, I see Korra nod slowly and a tiny smile form on her lips. “Okay. Thank you.”
I smile back. “Don’t mention it. Have a good night, Korra.”
“You too, Y/N.”
Closing the door, I lean backwards on the door with the back of my head pressed against it, revealed that the moment is over. I can still feel the bittersweetness of the departure.
Let’s hope tomorrow is better.
TIME SKIP
I stand in the same place as the night before, five minutes before nine. I make sure to got up early to avoid any awkward meetings. I haven’t spoken to the others else since Korra and I don’t particularly want to join them at breakfast. Despite telling her that I’ll try to tolerate Suyin, I still fear that she will somehow get a reaction out of me. It’s best I stay out of the matriarch’s way for now.
“Impeccable timing.”
I turn to the source of the voice, and I pause.
There, in front of me, is Kuvira standing tall and proud. Now absent of her heavy armour representing the Zaofu Guard and replaced with the known green robes that typical citizens wear. No longer wearing her helmet, I can see her jet-black hair tied up into a ponytail. She’s stunning.
Feeling my cheeks warm slightly, I cough awkwardly. “Of course.”
Kuvira doesn’t react to the scene playing out before her. She tilts her head in a questioning way. “Have you had breakfast?”
I open my mouth to answer her question but instead of words, the answer is the growling of my stomach. Shit.
Kuvira smirks. “I guess not.”
With a sheepish grin, I rub the back of my neck. “Yeah, I decided to skip breakfast with the others. I didn’t want to risk causing another argument.”
Listening to my explanation, the smirk fades from her lips. Then, the guard turns and starts walking. “Come. I know a place we can eat.”
Huh?
Rushing forward to catch up, I walk side-by-side with her. “We?”
“I haven’t had the chance to eat either.” Kuvira explains. “I know a good place that serves good food. Besides, this will be an opportunity for you to see more of Zaofu.”
Oh…
That’s…sweet.
As she leads me to the train that leads us to another section of the city, I have more look at the intrinsic building. They scream of a utopia with signs of a bright new era on the horizon.
“I’m really impressed with the architecture.” I comment, turning my gaze to Kuvira. To my surprise, she is already focusing her attention at me with a curious glint in her cool eyes. “It’s so much better than what I saw in Ba Sing Se. Not a single inch of poverty and dilapidation.”
She smiles. “Indeed. Thanks to Bataar, the architect, Zaofu is the most advanced city in the entire Earth Kingdom.”
The mention of the architect brings a flash of memory in my mind with the image of a middle-aged man and his younger accomplice passing by the dining room, with the former apologising to his wife and telling her he had a major breakthrough in the tram system.
Despite my issues with Suyin, I cannot deny that her husband is a genius. This architecture and technology should be shared with the rest of the kingdom!
“Well, he should be proud of what he has accomplished.” I finally respond. “All of this is revolutionary! Why hasn’t this been shared with the rest of the nation?”
My question appeared to trouble Kuvira slightly as I see her rip her gaze from me to stare through the tram’s window with a frown present.
Uh oh. Did I make her upset?
“Unfortunately,” Kuvira begins with a trace of bitterness. “the sharing of Zaofu’s resources wouldn’t be possible.”
The phrase of her answer makes me perk an eyebrow and lean forward slightly.
“How come?”
The frown deepens on Kuvira’s face. “The Earth Queen would never allow it. She despises changes or, at least, changes she didn’t implement. She certainly wouldn’t allow a rival of hers to improve her kingdom.”
Of course. Why am I not surprised?
A frustrated groan erupts from me, and I slump down to the tram’s seat. “Typical. The Earth Queen has a chance to improve the lives of her people and refuses it because it would hurt her pride and ego. I met her when we visited Ba Sing Se and what I saw was despicable. Her people were suffering and she herself was vile.”
I hear a hum of agreement from my companion.
Sighing heavily, I glance away. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant. It’s just been troubling me for a while.”
“There’s no need to apologise.” Kuvira assures me, finally looking back at me. “I had nothing to add. I agree with you completely. The Queen is a horrible woman who should never have been in charge of the Earth Kingdom.”
“Exactly!” I exclaim, relieved with being understood. “I told Korra and Tenzin the same thing! You know what they said? They said there was nothing we could do other than advise! How is that right?”
All I get from Kuvira are two words.
“It isn’t.”
Before I can respond, the tram reaches its to a screeching halt. We have arrived.
Leaving the transport, the guard leads me through the city for around twenty minutes or so until finally we reach a small establishment. It has a square-like shape with the windows revealing the green interior of the building. I notice a counter with all types of food displayed with a male cashier behind it.
I glance up to see the sign on top of the store. “Badger’s Borrow.”
“Is this a café?” I ask her.
“It is.” Kuvira confirms. “I sometimes come here when I’m not on duty or busy with my dancing. It is welcoming and peaceful.”
Humming in acknowledgement, I gesture to the store door. “Well then, shall we?”
My gesture brings a smirk out of her. “We shall.”
The following minutes were nothing special. All it consisted was us waiting in line and ordering food to eat. Kuvira paid for both of us before I could even tell her I had no cash. She must have know beforehand. Clever.
Now, we sat on a table by the window eating our food. The time it took for us to explore Zaofu, travelling on the tram, and walking to the store was long enough for sunlight to shine down on the city.
“The food is pretty good here.” I tell her, taking bites of the item I ordered. “I can see why you come here.”
“Indeed.” She agrees with a smile. “It’s relaxing.”
The softness in her voice as she compliments the burrow opens a door of revelation for me. When I first saw her, I thought she was all serious, tough, and no-funny business. Now, though, I realise there’s more to her than meets the eye. Heh, in a way, she is a lot like Korra.
Korra…
The image of Korra’s rage at my outburst to Suyin flashes to the forefront of my mind brings my mood down. Despite making up at the end of the night, arguing with my best friend always saddens me greatly.
Kuvira seems to have noticed the change in my mood. “You seem troubled.”
I shake my head. “It’s nothing.”
Glancing upwards, I see curiosity and concern in her gaze. This time, however, I’m going to do ask the questions.
“Can I ask you something?”
Her eyes widen in surprise of the sudden topic change but relents. “You may.”
I lean forward to further engage in the situation. “You barely know me and yet you’re showing me around the city and taking me to a coffee shop you go to. Why?”
The guard’s eyes widen slightly in surprise of my bluntness but proceed to narrow in thought. She doesn’t respond for a while, as if she doesn’t know the answer herself, and I take a drink to act as a distraction to fill in the silence.
“You intrigued me.” Kuvira at lasts respond, though brief as it is.
Oh?
“Intrigued you?” I repeat.
She nods. “Your frustrations with Suyin, specifically.”
I frown. “You said you agreed with me when I talked about Varrick.”
“And I still do.” Kuvria confirms. “Even more so after given it some thought. When Suyin announced Varrick’s contribution to Zaofu despite his history I was troubled.”
Interesting.
I take another sip from my cup, my eyes still locked with Kuvira’s, and place it back down. “Did you say anything to her?”
She shakes her head slightly. “I did not. It is not my place. I’m the Captain of the Guard, not an adviser.”
“Captain of the Guard?” I repeat with surprise. “Adviser or not, that’s a pretty impressive rank to hold. You must be proud.”
She nods with pride. “I am. It is an honour to be given such a title.”
“Suyin must trust you pretty well.”
“I am her protégé.” Kuvira reveals to me, taking a sip of her own drink after the comment. “She mentored me since I was a child.”
“Interesting.” I comment. “Your parents must be proud.”
As soon as that sentence leaves my lips, I know I made a mistake. Kuvira frowns sharply and gazes down at her cup. Her eyes have hint of bitterness and…shame.
“I’m sorry!” I speak up almost immediately after my previous comment. “I didn’t mean to bring up any bad memories.”
“It’s fine.” The captain assures me sharply, though her tone betrays her. It’s clear she’s feeling uncomfortable now.
Despite the awkward silence that followed, I don’t feel any of it. Instead, a great wave of sympathy washes over me and also…familiarity.
An idea comes to me.
Should I do this? I mean, she’s a stranger. I haven’t even told Korra and Mako yet! Or even Tenzin, Kyuni and the others!
A stranger who seems to be like-mind as I. One who seems to be familiar with family troubles. Maybe this might make her feel slightly better.
“If it makes you feel any better…” I begin, trailing off slightly but then catch myself. “I have my own issues with my parents.”
At the mention of my situation, Kuvira immediately snaps her attention to me with her eyes widened. “You do?”
I nod solemnly. “I was gifted airbending too like Opal. I was so excited. I was always so interested in the Air Nation’s culture and to have the chance to be a part of it was…amazing. I remember feeling the rush as I went to call my parents. I told them and do you know what they said?”
Before Kuvira can even have the chance to respond, I chuckle sadly. “My father accused me of abandoning my tribe! Then, he tells me if that if I join the Air Nation I will not be considered as their own! Can you believe that? After years of loving memories, they were willing to abandon me!”
A single tear rolls down my left cheek and I quickly swipe it away.
“Sorry.” I tell her, gazing at my cup. “Didn’t meant to dump all that emotional shit onto your plate.”
Then, to my surprise, I feel a hand land on top of mine with a slight squeeze.
I look back up and I see Kuvira avoiding my gaze and instead focus it on our hands.
“I won’t sugar coat it by telling you everything will be fine.” The captain tells me, her voice hoarse. “It won’t be fine. It will never be. All I can tell you is following your own path. Don’t let your idiotic parents stop you from fulfilling your passions.”
My heart stops from Kuvira’s speech. When it concludes, it resumes.
Her advice is similar to Asami’s and yet…Kuvira’s seems the most…helpful? I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe it was her bluntness of it all. Maybe it was because she seems so familiar.
When she called my parents idiotic a brief spark of anger threatened to erupt but it quickly faded. After I gave it, some thought, she was right. I mean, after everything we’ve been together my parents are willing to cast me aside for wanting their child to follow their dreams and do some good in the world? What kind of parents do you have to be to do that?
“My parents abandoned me when I was a child.” Kuvira speaks up, her stature tense. “They dropped me with Suyin with a mere sack of my stuff and left me. Father told me it was for my own good but, really, it was to make their own lives easier. They abandoned their own daughter. They abandoned me.”
The sympathy that I already had for her intensifies in power and I place my own hand on top of her, now squeezing her hand gently.
Kuvira was abandoned as a child, but she overcame it. She was cast aside by the people she trusted the most and yet she rose to such a high position: The Captain of the Guard of Zaofu. It’s inspiring.
It has inspired me.
If Kuvira can overcome her past with her parents, then so can I. I can surpass this. I know I can.
“Your parents are fools.” I assure her. “From what I’ve seen, you’re so much better than them. Screw them.”
My own comfort brings a smile on Kuvira’s lips.
A smile forms on mine.
Then, in a tiny coffee shop with a stranger I barely know and yet feels so familiar, everything becomes clear. Everything.
“You were born in the Southern Water Tribe, you grew up in the Southern Water Tribe, and had practiced Southern Water Tribe traditions. And now you are abandoning your culture for another!"
“You are trying to abandon your tribe, and your mother and I will not tolerate such a betrayal.”
“The next time we talk, you better tell us you are not joining the Air Nation. If not, don’t contact or visit us ever again.”
The echoes of the past, once plagued my mind, are now only harmless afterthoughts.
I have made my decision.
I will join the Air Nation.

Mako x Female Reader Request: Part One
Imagine being placed with Mako to guard Wu and instantly not getting on. However as time passes and the war progresses you come to be each other’s greatest allies.
Tumblr media
Part Two Here
Part Three Here
Part Four Here
Mako was done with being Wu's bodyguard. He hated everything about the job and just wanted out. He was hoping Lin was going to tell him it was all finally over and he was free but no. He was now going with Wu to Ba Sing Sei after the coronation, his worst nightmare. "But I have some good news" Lin said and Mako rolled his eyes "what? I also get to sleep curled up at the foot of Wu's bed every night?". Lin shook her head "no but don't give him any ideas, you are getting help. Suyin is sending over one of her finest guards to help protect Wu with the upcoming coronation. Her name's y/n and she'll be here later today. This is her file, read it sometime before then" she said pressing a folder into his hand. "I don't need help while I babysit" Mako protested but Lin shot him a look "you were just complaining about how annoying Wu is and now you're upset you'll be getting help?". "I don't want to guard him full stop!" Mako began to argue when Lin held up her hand "I don't want to hear it! Just meet y/n at air temple island this afternoon. Help her settle in, introduce her to Wu and then bring her to me later today" and that was that. Mako wasn't happy but he did as Lin said and arrived at Air Temple island just after your ship had arrived. He didn't know you by name but he did recognise you when he saw your face from his brief time in Zafou. He couldn't recall having a conversation with you but if you were so high up in Su's regard you must be good. You were rather small for a guard he noted, barely 5 feet and you didn't look particularly threatening as a good bodyguard should. You were talking to Tenzin and Jinora happily and seemed pretty social and bubbly. Mako got a sinking feeling this was going to turn into his babysitting two people. He was inwardly cursing Su Yin for sending you when Tenzin looked up and spotted him.
"Here he is now, y/n this is Mako Wu's bodyguard, the person you'll be working closely beside". Mako sighed slightly and not looking at you held out his hand "nice to meet you, looking forward to working with you". You grabbed his hand and he was surprised how strong your grip was "likewise, I know Bolin well through Opal so if you're anything like him I'm sure it will all go smoothly". Mako didn't reply "Wu is waiting for us back at the hotel so we should go". You paused before nodding "sure" and Mako went to reach for your bag but you grabbed it instead "I'll take my own stuff". Mako shrugged in response and set off. He heard you saying goodbye to Tenzin and Jinora before you caught up to him. "So what's the prince like?" you asked trying to make conversation. It didn't work. Mako shrugged "haven't you met him before?". You shook your head "Wu was kept locked up tight until recently. That's why Su sent me along, he's never been this exposed before and someone could easily see it as an opportunity". Mako couldn't doubt your logic but didn't see how having you around would help. He didn't respond and you lapsed into silence. When you reached the hotel Wu was living in Mako figured you'd need a few minutes to rest or want to unpack but you practically threw your bag on your bed and nodded "I'm ready". Mako led you to Wu's room where Wu was pretending like he hadn't been excitedly practising his greeting the entire time. "Enter" Wu called in his most dignified serious voice as Mako knocked on the door. Wu was sat in a large chair and had obviously gone to a lot of effort to impress you with his royalness. "Y/n" Wu smiled brightly "it's most wonderful to meet you! Su gave you a glowing recommendation so I'm thrilled to have you as my guard". You smiled "Su is too kind but I promise you I will be a diligent bodyguard and will protect you with my life". Mako almost snorted to hear such a big statement come out of something so tiny but Wu seemed to like it. He nodded solemnly and bowed to you "thank you y/n...now come sit! Let's get to know one another!". You and Wu talked for the best part of two hours. Mako felt like his ears were going to fall off and he knew this wasn't going to work. So when he took you to meet Lin he asked her if he could speak with her privately. She refused, telling Mako she was too busy so anything he had to say would have to be said in front of the group. You looked at him curiously and Mako sighed but wasn't going to shrink away just because you were watching him. Meanwhile, you'd only been here 3 hours and already you weren't keen on Mako. He seemed cold, robotic and lifeless. You understood being professional at work but he just clearly didn't want to be here and didn't seem to care that the prince was your nation's best hope at restoring stability. So you weren't too fond of the man and then his next sentence consolidated your negative opinion of him. "Fine" Mako nodded "I don't think y/n is qualified to guard Wu". Your eyes nearly popped out of your head "excuse me, based on what? You've known me a few hours". "Yes and in that time you haven't shown any of the telltale signs of a good guard. You're loud, love talking and aren't much of a fighter. If she is placed as Wu's guard it won't be a help but a hindrance". Mako was honestly expecting you to burst into tears so when you started laughing he froze before looking to Lin "see?". "I'm laughing because you're an idiot. Creerse la última coca-cola en el desierto, el burro sabe mas que tu!". Mako blinked at your sudden language change but Lin smirked. "Pardon?" Mako asked and you smiled sweetly at him "I basically said you know nothing about me or anything in general. For instance do you know I'm the head guard of Zafou? Or that I speak 4 languages? Or that I was trained in metal and earth bending from Suyin herself?". Mako shook his head "I did not". You smiled "Also as for my loudness and love for talking have you ever worked as an agent? People skills and the ability to get people to like you can get you far, something I'm sure you know nothing about. Plus where I come from kindness goes a long way, you didn't even look at me when you shook my hand at the docks and you've been rude ever since. Have you ever thought it's not me whose inexperienced but you?". Mako blanked "what?". You sighed "should I say it in Spanish?" and you went to repeat yourself when Mako held up his hand "I heard what you said". Lin was chuckling slightly and Mako turned to her "are you going to let her speak to me like that?". Lin smiled "after the way you spoke to her I think you deserve it. Y/n has been a guard longer than you which you'd have known if you'd read her file. She's not just here to guard Wu, you could also learn a thing or two from her". You thought Mako's face was going to explode and resisted the urge to laugh. Lin looked at you and her lip quirked in a smirk "y/n why don't you head back to Wu, I'm going to have a word with Mako here...and if nobodies said it already welcome to Republic City. We're pleased to have you". You smiled and bowed "happy to be here chief" and walked from the room. You practically swanned back to the hotel still laughing at the shocked expression on Mako's face when you cursed him out in Spanish. When you reached the hotel room you dismissed the temporary guard and smiled at Wu "your majesty, how are you?". "I'm okay but a little stressed." You nodded "that's to be expected, your coronation is in a week". "I know and my outfit is all wrong, help me choose something different" he said going to his closet. You paused surprised but smiled "of course". Your job here was going to be different than what you'd expected. After you'd diverted the disaster Wu collapsed onto his large sofa with a sigh "being royalty is hard work". You nodded "I'm sure it is" and Wu sat up "but look at me going on, I'm sure you've had a much more tiring day, how's it been so far". "Good" you nodded trying not to think of Mako "the city is very beautiful". Wu nodded "it is isn't it...what about the people?". "Well so far the only people I've met are you, Mako, Tenzin, Jinora and Lin...and you're all very different". Wu chuckled "we are! What do you make of Mako?". You paused "he seems...strict". Wu snorted "that's an understatement". "Is he always like that?" you asked. Wu shrugged "Nah he's a big softie really, he's just got that resting fire nation face and hard exterior. He's a lot more likeable when that drops, trust me you'll be friends in no time. Like me and Mako!" Wu said happily and you nodded half-heartedly. There was probably a greater chance of Wu and Mako becoming best friends than you liking Mako. Or so you thought...how fate likes to screw people over.

Lost: Kuvira x GN! Reader
*Sorry if Kuvira's ooc in this!
Word count:2146
*Set 3 months after Kuvira's surrender
Y/N
"Are you really ready Y/N?" My mother Suyin whispered into my ear.
Hi, I'm Y/N Beifong. I was initially Kuvira's fiance and right hand. But when she fired the spirit cannon at me and my family, I immediately considered our engagement called off.
"Yes Mother, I am ready." I walked into her jail cell. I haven't seen her in months.
I was flanked at both sides by guards, but I requested to speak with her privately.
Kuvira
"Kuvira! You have a visitor!"
The visitor walked in. It was them. Their familiar Y/E/C eyes stared into my soul.
"Hello Kuvira. It's been a while." Their voice rang through my ears. That familiar voice shook me to the core.
"Hello Love." I responded.
"You don't deserve to call me that! Not after you almost killed me and my family!" They screamed at me. Tears were welling up in their eyes. It pains me to see them cry like this.
"That was a calculated decision!" I quickly talked back.
"Oh like our relationship I guess!" They shook the bars of my cell. Their hair was slowly falling down on their neck, revealing locks of Y/H/C hair.
"You look beautiful." I was staring at their face, and wondered how did I make them love me.
"Shut up!"
They were walking out when I said "Wait!" They then turned around and I said "Y/N, I really did love you."
They stormed out.
Y/N
"Y/N! Are you ok? Did she do anything to you?" My mother ran to my side. It was because I was crying I guess.
"I'm fine mother."
We then took an airship back to Zaofu.
*After Kuvira was released into Suyin's custody
Kuvira
Today was the day I was going to be released into Suyin's custody. And the day I see Y/N again.
It was a few hours from Republic City to Zaofu. I enjoyed the sights on the way, but I also prepared myself to speak to them.
The people who greeted me were few, but precious to me. Y/N immediately ran up to me and hugged me. I asked how they were doing, and they said they were engaged. I immediately felt like my throat was pulled out. But I was just happy to see them.
Suyin showed me to a small bedroom, modest but cozy. She also told me that guards would be in front of my quarters 24/7.
Afterwards, she invited me to a small dinner.
When I got there, I saw them in dark green robes and metal shoulder plates. But I also saw them holding hands with a person, about their age, with twinkling silver bands lighting up their ring fingers.
It suddenly clicked in my head. That person was their fiance.
I managed to get through the dinner, sometimes talking to them and their fiance.
But when I got back to my quarters, I felt this pain in my heart. I felt jealous.

Korra Dating Kuvira's Sibling Headcanon's
Tumblr media
A/N: I hope this isn't too lacking in detail haha 😅
Pairing(s): Korra X GN!Reader
Characters: Korra Reader, Kuvira
Link: Legend of Korra
⚠️ Warnings!: Spoilers for LOK
______________________________________________________________
✨You met Korra first in Zaofu, where you and Kuvira were both taken in by Suyin Beifong.
✨Instead of working as a member of the Metal Clans guard, you ended up being personal assistant to Suyin
✨You don't posses the ability to bend metal, thus making it hard for you to integrate fully into the metal bending clan. This has also generated a slight rift between you and your sister, who is a master metal-bender.
✨Korra and you took an immediate liking to each other, and bonded over your mutual enjoyment of pro-bending.
✨You are pretty starstruck by her being a member of the Fire Ferrets formerly. She feels a little shy about it as she initially thought you were pretty physically attractive.
✨However, as you two start to open up to each other more, and she expresses her anxieties about Zaheer, you really start to bond.
✨She invites you to accompany her and Opal to the Air Temple, however, you still want to fulfil your obligations to Suyin in the Metal Clan.
✨The next time you and Korra meet, it's when you go with Suyin and Kuvira (at your insistence) to help when she confronts Zaheer.
✨After Korra's traumatic final battle, you visit her when she is recovering. You notice that she isn't the same woman you knew, but can't place what the issue is.
✨When Kuvira starts to slowly get her claws into the Earth Kingdom, taking over land she shouldn't. You begin to doubt her motives and leave one night when things get to intense for you.
✨While making your escape from your sister and going into hiding briefly as you make your way to Republic City, you run into Korra.
✨She is at her lowest and at first tries to avoid you. However, you convince her to let you travel with her.
✨You only start to get close romantically after her confrontation with Zaheer where she learns to let go. This allows her to also start to move forward with your relationship.
✨You aren't officially dating, but only start making it official near the end of the events of book three.

I’d Choose You in Every Universe
Pairing(s) - Lin Beifong x AFAB!Reader (no gender terms are used but female genetalia is present)  / Kuvira x Reader (mentioned?)
Request: can i request lin getting jealous when she sees someone flirting with y/n and how she would react?
summary: Lin catches you getting a bit too close for comfort with another woman.
warnings:  Drinking, mentions of alcohol, filthy porn with plot, fingering, eating out, vulgar language(?)
word count: 2,151 (i got carried away…)
A/N:  this is written to be in the time period of season 3 when Kuvira was just a shy guard that didn’t want world domination and Bataar Jr. and her were never a thing. Also, my first smut fic, starting off strong.
There will be a pt. 2! Idk when i’ll write it though…
ao3 - masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was Suyin’s annual Zaofu anniversary party. Celebrating the day that Zaofu had become its own city (and a successful one at that). She had all of her close friends and family members come by her house and by the end of the day, the house would be jam packed with people. All of them wearing different earth kingdom themed clothing and formal outfits. She would allow most of her guards to join the party along as long as they had been taking turns watching over Zaofu and not ingesting any alcohol.
Lin had decided to bring you as her plus one this year and the year before to the party. Lin dressed in one of her green earth kingdom suits and you accompanied her in a long green dress that had a slit by your left leg showing a small amount of your thigh.
The sky was still blue, and the sun was still out. The two of you had arrived and entered through the large metal doors. Suyin immediately ran over to the two of you, enveloping your neck in a hug. You wrap your hands around her to give her a small hug back.
“Y/N! So glad to see you again.” Su says as she lets go of her hold on you and walks over to her sister.
“And Lin, I’m glad to see you as well.” Suyin wraps her arms around Lin’s waist, her head falling onto Lin’s chest as Lin raises her hands in the air, unsure of what to do.
Lin looks over to you with wide eyes and a face of uncertainty. You smile at her tilting your head a bit to signal that she should hug Su back. Lin grumbles a bit but twists her mouth into a small smile as she pats her sisters back a little. “Glad to see you too, Su.” Lin says with a small voice full of genuinity.
Su pulls back with a large grin plastered on her face. She grabs yours and Lin’s hands in her own and says, “Well, there are refreshments and food inside, go make yourself at home. I’ve got more people to greet.”
Tumblr media
It was getting late. The sun had already gone down and the party goers had gone from setting off fireworks and dancing throughout the night to settling in Suyin’s massive home and enjoying drinks while chatting with one another.
Lin had been pulled away from you some time ago to talk to some of her old colleagues. You settled down in the corner of one of the green couches, a drink in your hand as you watched Lin across the room talk to a bunch of old men in suits.
“This seat taken?” A deep voice pulls you out of your thoughts as you snap your head up to see a girl in Zaofu uniform and a thick braid to accessorize her.
“Oh, no. Not at all.” You respond as you scooch over a bit more to let the girl sit next to you.
“Kuvira.” She holds her hands out allowing you to shake her hand. “Y/N.” You respond with a small smile. Her calloused hands holding a strong grip over your much smaller hands in comparison.
“I’ve never seen you around.” You say to her as you let go of her grasp. “Yeah, last year I was patrolling a lot during this time. Some of the other guards wanted me to cover for them so I never had the time to attend the party.” She responds smiling back at you.
You nod in her response and take a sip of your drink. “Champagne?” She asks and you look at her confused until you realize she was talking about your drink. “Oh, no. This is apple juice. I’m pretty lightweight, I’ve already had enough glasses of wine.” You say as you chuckle and Kuvira laughs lightly with you.
In all honesty, you and Lin were like polar opposites. Drinking was not an exception. Lin could hammer down alcohol like they’re water and come back completely sober. You, on the other hand, could barely tolerate vodka.
You and Kuvira continue talking until one specifically funny joke warrants a loud burst of laughter from you. This grabs Lin’s attention as she looks over the shoulder of her colleague and sees you laughing as Kuvira’s hand had made its way behind the couch and over your shoulder. Her other hand inching towards your thigh.
At this sight, Lin excuses herself and walks towards the couch the two of you were sitting on and grabs your arm. “I’m feeling a bit tired, I think we should go.” Lin says coldly looking at you and purposefully ignoring Kuvira.
“Oh, sure. Sorry Kuvira, I’ve got to go.” You say standing up but before you could leave, Kuvira takes a hold of your hand. You look down, shocked as Kuvira stares up at you and says, “I had fun talking with you Y/N. Maybe next time you come over we can talk again?” You open your mouth to respond but Lin pulls you away by your waist hurriedly. You stare behind you to see Kuvira looking at you dumbfoundedly and you lip sync out a “I’m sorry.”
“Lin, what the hell was that?” You say as you turn your attention back to Lin and you see her scowling with her eyebrows furrowed. You quickly shut your mouth realizing she was angry as she pushes you into one of Suyin’s guest rooms.
She slams the door closed with one of her legs as her mouth latches onto yours, kissing you fervently. Her hand metal bends the lock closed. You reciprocate eagerly attempting to match her fierceness. Lin breaks the kiss as she starts peppering kisses down your neck. Your lips bruised and red as you pant for air.
“Lin what–” You attempt to utter out as Lin cuts you off. “Up.” She says one word and you know what she means. You jump onto her arms, her rough large hands holding onto your ass as she starts to kiss down your cleavage. She backs you onto the bed and throws you down.
Lin takes off her suit jacket in one quick motion. She leans in to kiss you again but you hold her shoulders and stop her before she can get any closer. “Lin, as much as I love how rough you’re going with me right now, what’s wrong?” You said as you looked into her eyes. Lin’s tough facade falls and she leans in closer, making your arms bend in front of her shoulders. She whispers out, “Just, please. We don’t have to continue if you don’t want to but…” She says with her eyes lidded and her breathing slowed down. The moonlight shines onto her face and her cute expression along with her begging makes you want to shed a tear.
You lean in and break the distance kissing her slowly. She kisses back, much slower this time. As if she was savoring you and memorizing the shape of your lips. Her hands gently hold onto your waist, one arm going around to unzip the dress.
As she slowly takes off your dress you dip your head into her neck to kiss and mark her. She groans out, leaning her neck to the side to let you have more room.
You kick your dress off and Lin leans back to admire your braless body. She groans at the sight and leans down to mark her way down to your breasts leaving purple and red spots. She takes a nipple in her mouth and slowly moves her tongue around. A hand fondling with your other breast. You moan out as your back arches to move your breasts closer to her.
Her free hand travels down to your underwear and cups your pussy. You whimper out a please as you try to lower yourself to get more friction from her hand.
She chuckles as she leans back away from your breasts. You whimper out at the cold air hitting your hardened nipples. Lin stares down at your face, admiring your neediness and lidded eyes. Your lips plump and glossy under the moonlight. “God you’re gorgeous.” She mutters out bringing one hand to cup your face and the other still holding onto your underwear. You lean your face into her touch.
“Who does this pussy belong to?” She asks you as she starts to rub her thumb on your clothed clit making you buck your hips and moan “You, Lin. You.”
“You sure it’s not that Zaofu guard that was eyeing you like a hungry pig?” Lin growls leaning close to your ears. You shake your head eagerly, not trusting your voice to respond.
“You were so close to her tonight, I almost thought you’d forgotten who you belong to.” She whispers coldly into your ears. “No, I belong to you, Lin. Only you.” You squeak out.
With that, she pushes your underwear to the side and presses a finger inside of you. You immediately moan out her name. “Please, more.” You whimper out, wrapping your arms around her shoulders.
Lin inserts an extra finger in and slowly pushes in and out making you whine out in neediness. “You just suck up my fingers so well. You were begging to be whored out like this weren’t you?” She says as she gets up and cups your chin, forcing you to open your mouth. She removes her fingers from your vagina and puts them in your mouth. You close your mouth and suck on her fingers, cleaning them off for her. “Good job.” She says as she starts to make her way towards your thighs. She pulls off your underwear and you help by bucking your hips up. She admires your bare pussy and smooth skin.
“Wait.” You say as she starts to lean in. She sits back up staring at you wondering if she did something wrong. “I think it’s rather unfair how much clothes you’ve got on and how little I have.” You say sitting up, drawing a finger down her blouse. She chuckles and starts unbuttoning her shirt as you lean back in to capture her lips. Lin slips in her tongue after your fight for dominance (not really a fight as you let her win rather quickly).
She slips off her blouse and leans back to take off her pants. Once her pants are off, she pushes you back down onto the bed and grips your thighs.
“Give me a word.” She says as she lingers just barely over your clit. Her hot breath sends sensations through your body. “Red.” You whisper out, breathless. She nods and captures your clit in her mouth, skillfully licking and sucking on it. You buck your hips up moaning. She removes her grasp on your thighs and holds your stomach down.
Your hands move down to her hair and you tug on it moaning and whimpering her name. Lin would usually tie your hands up by the headboard during this time but she was enjoying the tugging right now (although she would deny it if you ever asked her). She then inserts two fingers into your hole, fingering you with precision and hitting your g-spot every time.
“You taste so good,” she mutters into your pussy and her words make your vagina clench around her fingers. “So glad I get this pussy all to myself,” she groans out and you whimper at her words.
“Look at me,” she says, making your head look down at her, your eyes meeting as she eats you out.
“Lin…” you pant out, unable to finish your sentence. You don’t need to though, Lin can sense you’re getting close and she says, “Let go, let go for me.” And you do just that. You orgasm with a high scream like moan, yelling out her name.
She eases you out of your high and slowly slips her fingers out causing you to whimper at the emptiness. She gets up and you see her lips drenched with your cum. You blush under her gaze.
“Getting shy now? Don’t worry, this isn’t the end.” She says, leaning down to kiss you, giving you a taste of yourself on her tongue.
Tumblr media
After many more orgasms and many more rounds. She finally relents and pulls you into her arms. “I’ll start the bath,” she says slowly getting up. “No…just stay with me a little longer,” you respond dozing off into sleep. “If I do that, I’m afraid we’ll both fall asleep,” she says, chuckling and pulling away completely from you, resulting in a whine coming out of your mouth. She kisses your forehead and runs off to the bathroom, soon after, you hear the sound of water coming out of the faucet.
You sigh dreamily and think that in every other universe, you’d choose her over everyone else.

past the windowpane ☾
lin beifong x fem!reader
synopsis: rainy nights bring out the best in everyone. including you and lin.
content: rainy nights, sleepy kisses, childhood memories, just absolute domestic fluff, slow dancing
wc: 1.1k
a/n: not the fic i said i’d be doing next, but the one i felt like writing. don’t worry, other one is coming out soon too. title is from my current favorite song ゆめうつつ by lamp. as always it’s available to read on ao3 here ! enjoy :))
-
The air around you is damp tonight.
Not in a cloying, sticky sort of way, but in a way that cools your skin and makes you lazy and slow. Your eyes blink slowly as you watch the rain fall through the fogged glass of Lin’s bedroom window. You have it slightly open, just enough that raindrops sometimes fall on your face, a gentle surprise. The radio plays a soft song in the background, but it’s just white noise against the pitter patter of the rain.
As a bolt of lightning flashes through the sky, covering the whole city in light for just a moment, you feel a pair of warm, firm arms wrap around your waist.
“What are you doing up so late?” Lin asks softly, dropping her head onto your shoulder and pressing a barely-there kiss against your skin.
You just hum, and look back at her for a second. Smiling, you place your hands atop her own, right where they sit at your waist.
“Just thinkin’” you say, quietly. The thunder finally comes, and even though you were waiting for it, expecting it, you still jump a little. Lin chuckles against you, and pulls you closer against you.
“You scared?” she teases, and you roll your eyes even though she can’t see it.
“Not at all,” you say, then pause. “Though I used to be, as a kid.”
“Wanna know a secret?” she says, lifting her head so that her lips brush ever so slightly against the tips of your ears. It almost tickles.
“Mhm,” you say, nodding just a bit. Your body sinks against hers, the aching tiredness overtaking you. It feels so good to just let her hold you like this. So safe.
“When I was a kid,” she starts. “I was afraid of thunder.”
You’re just a little bit shocked, but not quite as much as you would've been a few months ago.. As much as Lin likes to seem so tough and strong—and she is, for the most part—she’s human just like the rest of us. She has fears and worries and hopes and wants. You love all those parts of her, the ones that get kept away from the prying eye of the public and bared only for a select few, one of them being you. She is as much at ease right now with you as you are with her, her body soft and supple as you mold against each other, two halves of a whole.
“Were you now?” you ask, light and airy, like the breeze flowing in through the open window. You love it when Lin tells you stories about herself—about her childhood. It’s not rare, but it’s definitely not as often of an occurrence as you taking up the whole night talking without realising it.
She nods. “I was. I used to make Su sleep in my bed with me on stormy nights. That is, until I decided I was too dignified to cuddle with my little sister. She was also quite annoying, which didn’t help her case.” Lin chuckles as she says so, and you’re glad. You know that her relationship with her sister used to be very strained, so listening to her talk about Suyin in such a playful manner is calming.
“My mom wasn’t a big fan of them either,” she continues, making a rare mention of Toph. Her mother is a sore spot for her, as is yours for you. “Vibrations from the thunder and the water on the ground made everything a little fuzzy for her. She never liked not being in complete control of a situation—and that included being able to see.”
You huff, and with a small smile, tease, “That sounds like someone I know.”
She groans, dropping her head back onto your bare shoulder.
“Don’t say that,” she mutters, and you know that you haven’t accidentally gone too far by the way she gives you an exasperated laugh as she says your name.
You cannot help but giggle as you turn around to face her.
“Sorry,” you say, smiling and not sorry at all.
“You are not,” she huffs, and you reach a hand up into her hair, messy and unmade for once.
“Maybe not,” you mutter, and lean up to kiss her.
Your lips meet and you kiss her with the taste of rain in the air, with wind brushing against your back, and with thunder rumbling throughout the city. She tastes the same as she always does, but you know you’ll never get used to kissing her like this, not when it always feels just as good as the first time, so you let yourself get drawn into it, your mouth slipping open for her tongue to lightly skirt along the plush softness of your lips.
You kiss lazily, both of your bodies aching for sleep, and the humid air lulling you along towards bed. Still, the sound of the rain calls to you, so instead you just stand there, letting her kiss you stupid.
When you finally slow, you’re breathless and your bodies warm the cool room. Her arms are draped around your neck, and you easily let yourself lean against her, sleepy eyes blinking hard.
“I’m tired,” you murmur against her chest, the music of the radio echoing off the walls around you. You start to sway with it, and Lin quickly follows your lead. You’re not quite dancing, but just letting your bodies move with the music. You suppose that is, in a way, dancing, but you’re too tired to put any real effort into it.
“You should sleep,” she says, dropping her chin onto the top of your head.
You hum at her still swaying gently to the sound of thunder and the radio. “Later,” you say, letting your arms wrap around her waist. “I wanna stay here for just a little while longer,” you continue a few seconds later, but your words trail off into a yawn.
“Okay,” she says, acquiescing only because she does not have the energy to pick you up and haul you to bed. “Just for a little while longer.”
You nod against her, your eyes falling shut.
“Just a little while longer,” you repeat back, and a flash of lightning illuminates your whole room, and you can hear the rain coming down harder now.
The two of you stay there, a pool of water forming beneath her open window, your feet shuffling slowly as you move with the soft music on her radio. You don’t quite fall asleep, but you’re not quite awake either as you listen to her heart beat in her chest.
Rainy nights are officially your favourite.

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader) Part 26
OLD FACE. NEW IDENTITY.
Y/N’S POV
Kuvira and finally arrived back at the edge of Zaofu where the Beifong Household is located. After our emotional talk about our parents of all things we hung out for bit more while before we headed back. Apparently, the guard’s shift was about to start soon.
When we finally reach back to where we began, it was past afternoon. I don’t see any of my friends anywhere. They must be around here somewhere.
“Here we are.” Kuvira states.
“Here we are.” I echo back.
I glance back at the guard with a smile who smiles back.
“This was nice.” I tell her. “I had a good time.”
She nods. “As did I. Hopefully, we could meet again before your departure.”
I hum in agreement. “So do I.”
Then, before I can even react, a press of warm lips land on my cheek and I am engulfed in flames.
“Good day, Y/N.” Kuvira tells me with a smirk, finding my flushed state amusing, and walks away with her hands behind her back in a business-like stature.
Even when she’s walking away, my cheeks still feel like they are on fire. I place a hand on the cheek that she had kissed.
Well then…
Shaking out of my flustered state, I start walking around the city and trying to find anyone there. It’s time I stopped avoiding them.
It took a few minutes, but I finally found them.
And what I see…
“What in the spirits is going on here?!”
I see Lin lying unconscious on the floor with Korra holding her head. Boulders spread out across the land like confetti, metal panels bent out of shape to form barriers, and I even see one of those weird metal structures crashed against the wall.
That’s not the only thing I see. I notice Opal on a bridge with Suyin and Bolin on the right end and most of the Beifong family on the left.
“Y/N!” Bolin exclaims with urgency. “Not trying to be rude but, uh, you kinda showed up at the wrong time.”
“Clearly.” I agree, walking closer to Korra and Lin. I kneel down next time and examine the Chief of Republic City Police’s health to see her condition. She looks awful. Not only is she slightly wounded from the fight, but she looks as pale and white as the snow land of the South Pole.
Opal rush towards us too, her posture clearly expressing her nearly overwhelming worry. “Is she okay?!”
“She’s pale.” I comment. “And slightly injured but…she’ll be all right. What happened?”
“I just learnt how to metalbend and Bolin was about to start but Lin showed up out of nowhere.” Korra explains, nervous and confusion mixed into one. “She and Su started to argue and then Lin attacked and all of a sudden they started fighting!”
Putting the revelation that Korra can now metalbend aside, I continue focusing on the chief. Sounds like the tension between the two siblings finally reached its dangerous breaking point.
“That doesn’t matter right now.” Suyin tells us, who has now walked towards us. Her tone expresses regret and shame. “We need to take Lin to her room and give her some medical attention.”
“Agreed.” I tell her. “Let’s carry her.”
With the strength of Korra, Bolin, Suyin, and I, we manage to bring her to her guest room. When we place her onto the bed, Aiwei enters the room with clear distress. “I heard what happened. Is she all right?”
“I’m not sure.” Suyin tells him.
The trusted advisor lets out a very tense sigh. He marches towards Lin and examines her. “This is my fault. I suggested to her to visit an acupuncturist to help deal with her supressed feelings. She must have not allowed herself to rest once the process was done.”
The worries from the matriarch and the truth seer aren’t mutual to mine.
“The Chief has been through worse.” I assure them but looking at Suyin specifically with sympathy. “She’ll live.”
“Y/N is right.” Korra agrees, facing them too. “Lin has dealt Equalists and mecha tanks. If she can survive that, she can survive this.”
The words of our reassurances seem to have worked as the tense and frightened looks of Suyin, Aiwei, and Opal smooth out and diminish slightly.
“That’s good to hear.” Aiwei responds. “Right now, I think she just needs some rest. We should leave her be.”
Yeah, that’s probably the best idea.
As we all reluctantly leave and then proceed to go our separate ways, I hear my name being called out.
“Y/N. May I have a word?”
I turn and see the matriarch. Her expression is unreadable.
With my fists tightly clenched and my body tensed, I slowly but surely walk towards her.
“Yes?”
“Thank you for helping to bring my sister here.” She tells me with her tone containing gratitude. “You didn’t have to after our last meeting.”
Oh…
“Lin needed help.” I reply. “I wasn’t going to refuse to help her because of some argument.”
She nods in understanding. “Of course. You’re as noble as Korra.”
“No chance.” I tell her in an attempt to appear humble. I hesitate slightly and bite my lip. Then, finally, I continue speaking. “Look, I am not going to apologise for what I said last night. I stand by my words. But…I will apologise for how I said it in front of your family. That was uncalled for.”
My apology seems to have startled the matriarch as her eyes widen in surprise. Then, a moment later, the surprise is gone. “Thank you. Apology accepted.”
And, with an exchange of nods, we depart.
I meet up with Korra, Bolin, and now Mako and Asami who seemed to have been caught up on what happened.
“The talk with Su gone all right?” Korra asks me when I finally approach them.
“Surprisingly, yeah.” I reply. “I apologised for how I acted to her. We seem to be on mostly good terms now.”
“That’s a relief.” Asami says. “That means you won’t be skipping breakfast tomorrow?”
I rub the back of my head with a sheepish grin. “I’ll be there.”
“What were you doing anyway?”
“I had a prior engagement.”
Korra cocks an eyebrow. “Prior engagement?”
I shake my head gently. “Met a guard of Zaofu when I stormed out. We hung out and decided to hang out today. She seemed pretty cool.”
“Pretty cool, huh?” Bolin asks with a smirk.
The memory of Kuvira’s kiss on my cheeks resurfaces and I feel my cheeks heat up slightly. Regardless, I roll my eyes.
“Not like that.” I tell him. “What about you guys, though?”
“Like I said before, Suyin gave me some metalbending lessons!” Korra informs me with excitement. “I am now the world’s first metalbending avatar!”
My eyes widen. Not even Aang learned metalbending? Interesting.
“That’s awesome, Korra!” I tell her. I turn to our earthbending friend. “What about you, Bolin? Did Suyin teach you too?”
My words seem to have struck the wrong chord, though, as nervousness washes over him. “Uh, no. No. Not yet. She was about to but, uh, Lin interrupted.”
“Oh.” I respond, not really knowing what to say. “Well, I’m sure she will give you some lessons later.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Bolin responds, the nervousness still present. “Of course.”
Hm. Odd.
I open my mouth to speak…and then close it.
Now with the urgency of Lin’s condition now gone, the memory of my conversation I had with Kuvira and my final decision now returns more louder than ever.
It’s time.
“There’s something I need to tell you, guys.” I announce, my voice calm and steady. “Well, specifically, I need to tell you something Korra and Mako.”
“Why us two?” Mako asks, eyebrow raised in curiosity.
I gaze downwards to the ground, and I rub my arm up and down. “Asami and Bolin already know.”
“Know what?” Korra presses.
I take a deep breath and slowly let it out. Despite making my decision, I still feel my heart beating as fast as an Air Scooter.
“Back on Air Temple Island…” I begin softly, shifting my gaze to my friends now. “I phoned up my parents to tell them I got airbending and was planning on join the Air Nation…”
“What did they say?” the firebender asks.
I sigh yet again. “They told me if I join the Air Nation…they will disown me.”
Mako’s jaw drops in shock. Bolin and Asami stare at me with sympathy and care. And Korra…
“They…they couldn’t…”
I get it. I really, really do. Korra has known my parents for years. I’ve lost count of how many times she came to my house and played together while my parents watched on. They treated her almost like she was their own daughter.
“I thought the same.” I bitterly mutter. “But they did. They were being dead serious. They told me I was trying to abandon the Southern Water Tribe.”
“What?!” Korra exclaims, concern now being replaced with anger. “How could they do this?!”
“That’s not it.” I continue. I turn to face her directly and I see the fiery rage in her normally cool eyes. “They even brought you into it by wanting me to ask you take my bending away.”
“WHAT?!” Korra barks out. “That’s it! Let me call them and I’ll- “
“-Korra, no.” I interrupt her, placing both of my hands on her shoulders. I squeeze them gently. “It’s okay, I-“
“-It’s not okay!” she tells me. “They’re your parents and they’re willing to abandon you! That’s awful! How are you fine with all of this?”
“I’m not.” I bluntly tell her. “When the call ended, Bolin saw me as an emotional wreck. It has been bothering me since we’ve left Air Temple Island. I didn’t want everyone else knowing yet. I only told Asami about it because she’s had similar experiences with family trouble.”
“Why didn’t you tell me and Korra?” Mako questions. His tone doesn’t come across as judging or hurting or anything of the sort. Just curiosity.
I sigh. “You guys were so excited and focused on finding new airbenders and I…I didn’t want to be a downer.”
Before I can even react, Korra’s two strong arms pull me into a tight hug with her face buried in my shoulder.
“You will NEVER be a downer.” She assures me. “I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this. I knew something was off, but I had no idea it was this bad. I’m so sorry.”
The beating of my heart that was running as fast as a Satomobile slows down to a gentle pace and a comfortable warmth fills my form. I hug her back just as tightly and smile. “It’s okay. I get it and…I’ve made my decision.”
“And?” Asami asks.
Korra pulls back to look at me. I gaze at all of my friends, and I take a deep breath. “I’m going to join the Air Nation.”
“But your parents-“
“-Screw them.” I interrupt my best friend, looking back at her. “I’m not going to let them bully me into not living my life. I want to rebuild the Air Nation and be part of its culture. If they don’t want to be part of my life when I do that, so be it. It will hurt, really hurt, but…I have accepted it.”
As soon as I finish my monologue, two big, strong arms wrap around my waist and lift me upwards. I know the all too familiar hug.
“We’re so proud of you!” Bolin exclaims, voice overly emotional.
Mako and Asami walk closer to Korra, Bolin and, I, smiles full of pride on their features.
“Good on you, Y/N.” Mako compliments.
“I’m glad you’ve made your decision.” Asami adds on.
Korra is the last one who speaks up. “We’re always going to be here for you. I will always be here for you.”
Spirits…
I feel droplets beginning to form from the kind and heart-warming reassurances.
“I know.” I finally tell them, voice watery. “I have you, guys.”
“Yeah!” Bolin agrees, now excited. “You have Team Avatar!”
Classic Bolin.
I giggle at his excitement. “Yeah, I have Team Avatar.”
We’re like that for a moment or two, basking in the warmth that is our friendship. It feels like all the problems in the world are nothing but a minor inconvenience now.
Everything will be all right.
TIME SKIP
Darkness clouds my vision as I rouse from slumber.
Great. Another restless night.
Some time passed since I told my friends of my situation with my parents. Lin managed to fully recover and even patched things up with Suyin and her niece. Opal even convinced Suyin to let her go to the Northern Air Temple to learn and train with the rest of the airbenders. We just saw her depart a few hours ago.
At least, I think it was a few hours ago. I don’t know how long I slept. Ugh.
After a few minutes, my vision adjusts to the dark room and I can see everything more clearly. For now, though, I am not interested. I continue staring at the ceiling, lying flat on my back.
The thoughts of my parents stills fill my mind.
I have made my decision to join the Air Nation. Now I just need to tell them.
Tomorrow...
Yeah, tomorrow. I might as well get it over with.
After one phone call, my old life will be over.
Despite the hurt that will come, the wonder and joy of living the life of an Air Nomad will be worth it. I know it.
Maybe, just maybe, if I allow myself to think of it and if I’m really, really lucky…that new life will have Korra as my girlfri-
“THEY’VE GOT KORRA!”
WHAT?!
Scrambling out of my room and my own room, I see Mako and Bolin already sprinting out of theirs. I follow them soon afterwards, and I see four of the strangest people I have ever seen.
A tall and powerful woman with a jet black ponytail and a tattooed third eye. A combustion bender?!
A long-haired woman with…watertendrils as arms?! WHAT?!
A scruffy-looking bearded man with a dangerous build and stance, carrying an unconscious Korra over his shoulder. That bastard!
And a bald man in robes. Wait…he looks familiar somehow…
I don’t have much time to ponder on this, however, as the four individuals unleashed a tsusnami of attacks with boulders, flames, water whips, and gusts of wind.
Wait-
Gusts of wind?! An airbender?!
Zaheer…
That airbender must be Zaheer. Lin said he got airbending now.
But still…why do I feel like I know him?!
Again, I don’t have time to analyse that question but thankfully Bolin creates an earth barrier to block the initial attack of the boulders which buys us just enough time to dodge the other incoming attacks and take cover behind one of the metal pillars.
“Sound the alarm!” I yell out to any guards in the area. “Zaheer and his friends are here!”
My yell worked as not even a second afterwards an ear-piercing screech that was the alarm fills my ears and blinding headlights appear into view and start shining towards the four individuals.
My relief is short lived, however, as mere seconds later an explosion appears out of absolutely nowhere with a force of ten mecha tanks which fling the three of us backwards! I roughly land on my back and pain fills my entire form!
Asami rushes to us with panic and worry written clear on her face.
“We can’t let them take her.” Mako groggily tell us, trying to recover from the impact of the explosion.
“I don’t think they’re going to get far.” Asami reassures us. She points towards them with urgency. “Look!”
I turn to the direction Asami pointed at and I see it.
Together with the effort of Lin, Wei, Wong, Kuvira, and the rest of the guards they are able to trap the four fugitives in a metal prison of their own making.
“We have you surrounded. It’s over.” Kuvira declares, her tone not revealing any trace of fear or nervousness. “Release the Avatar!”
I rush up to them to examine the scene. Okay, okay. Good. They can’t escape now! There’s no way they can-
-Suddenly, the grass around begins to be filled with molten rock, then filled with a hot pool of lava!
WHAT?! HOW?!
The metal panels that trapped the four fugitives succumb to the overwhelming heat of the lava and one by one they fall apart, revealing them in battle stances.
“No way! That guy is lavabending!” Bolin exclaims with complete shock. “That’s awesome…ly not good for us.”
Lavabending?! That’s a thing?!
“Save your admiration for later, Bolin.” I snap at him.
Then I see the bald man use his wooden staff attempt to create some sort of cover for him and his friends with his airbending. One of the guards notices this and exploits the temporary vulnerability by shooting out a metal cable that wraps around his arms like a snake and with considerable strength, flings him away off the platform!
That man…why is he so damn familiar? I have to know!
I run. I run despite the yells and screams of my friends. I run to where the man lands as he fights two of the guards. Much to my surprise, he seems to be taking them on effortlessly with some sort of mixture of martial arts and airbending. Who in the spirits is this guy?!
He blasts the two a good distance away and before he can press his attack, I launch my own with a powerful gust of wind! He is sent back but quickly recovers with a retaliatory swing of his staff that creates a tunnel of wind in my direction. I dodge with a roll, raise my fist and-
Freeze.
So does the man, his eyes now so wide they look like they could pop open.
That face…
I know that face…
I know those olive green eyes and those sharp eyebrows. I know that slightly cut left eyebrow which has been disconnected from one section of the eyebrow to the other.
“Yorru?!” I exclaim, my stance faltering into shakiness.
The flash of recognition in his eyes confirms my suspicions. “Y/N?!”
It is Yorru!
Yorru is the man who tried to kidnap Korra?!
Yorru is Zaheer?!
“What are you doing?!” One of the two guards yells wh are now running back. They launch their metal cables at Yor-Zaheer, but he dodges them with a quick backflip. When he lands he launches yet another air strike which hits them again. This time, however, it knocks them out cold.
And I? I just stand there during all of this, still frozen in shock of the truth.
When the guards get knocked back, though, I snap out of it.
I rush forward to Zaheer and deliver a low air swipe kick in an attempt to knock him to the ground. I know he would most likely dodge it and when he does just now I use my low position from my previous attack to roll away from his counter-attack and then flip into the air, spin as fast as I can, and launch a powerful air kick!
Only for him to dodge it!
WHAT?!
Now left vulnerable midair, Zaheer launches an upward air kick in retaliation which knocks be back to the top of one of the pillars, hitting me straight in the spine.
“AGH!”
I land with a loud THUD! I try so hard to get up but the pain on my back is too much.
However, instead of seeing him towering above me, I glance up and I see Zaheer looking back at the platform with his face full of panic.
Panic?!
I look to the source of his fear, and I see it.
Lin Beifong, Korra in her arms, holding a metal cable that is elevating her to the top of the dome, away from the other fugitives.
YES!
My relief quickly vanishes because Zaheer turns his staff into an air glider and begins advancing towards the two in the air!
NO!
Luckily, Lin dodges Zaheer’s attack and before he can launch another one Suyin appears in a metal cable of her own and sends dozens of daggers into his direction, ruining one of the wings of the glider and causing him to land back onto the glider!
Before, I can celebrate the victory, however, the entire area is filled with black smoke that clouds my eyes! When my vision recovers, they are gone!
HOW?!
Despite the frustration, though, we had a victory. We saved Korra.
KORRA!
Ignoring the excruciating torment, I am feeling, I slowly rise to my feet. Almost immediately after I get up my back engulfs into a fiery torture of suffering. “AH!”
“Y/N!” Asami yells, rushing forward to me. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine!” I snap, trying to advance forward. However, as soon as I take a step, I begin tumbling back onto the floor. Luckily, Asami catches me just in time.
“You’re not fine!” She retorts angrily. “You’re badly hurt!”
“I don’t care!” I bark back. “I need to see Korra! Is she okay?!”
“Lin and Suyin have her.” She replies. “We need to give you some medical attention.”
DAMMIT!
TIME SKIP
We are in Suyin’s office. I am sat with Mako, Bolin, and Asami on one sofa while on the sofa opposite, Korra lies still while Aiwei takes care of her. When I saw her, my heart broke again. I haven’t seen her this bad since she broke down sobbing in front of Tenzin and I during the Equalist Crisis. No, scratch that. This is worse.
“This should neutralise the shirashu toxins.” Aiwei informs Korra, handing her some sort of drink. It seems to have worked slightly, as I see her slightly moving her fingers. It ain’t much but it’s a start.
“How could you let this happen?!” Lin yells at Suyin, frustration clearly present. “You assured me this was one of the most secure places in the world.”
“It is.” Suyin counters. “I don’t know how this happened. Obviously, this was a well-planned operation, so don’t blame me.”
WHAT?! How fucking dare she!
“Take some fucking responsibility!” I loudly tell her, my rage allowing me to ignore the pain of my back. “It’s clear you have a rat within Zaofu! A rat who is very influential and knows the city inside and out like your guards! Your arrogance nearly costed Korra’s life!”
The short-lived peace we established has fallen apart as Suyin glares daggers at me. “You have no right to lecture me, Y/N! We will question them all! Whoever betrayed my city will suffer the consequences!”
I let out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh, so when outsiders make “some mistakes” you give them second chances but when someone within Zaofu makes one then they will get punished? Fucking rich!”
“Enough, Y/N!” Lin barks out, silencing me in an instant. The anger, while still present, is mixed with shame and guilt.
Dammit. I told Korra I would tolerate Suyin and I already failed…
“Everyone!”
We all turn to the voice and I see Kuvira, standing tall and proud. “We searched the entire estate. There’s no sign of them.”
DAMMIT!
“Well, keep looking!” Lin orders at the captain.
Now that the silence has filled the room, despite the intensity due to the argument between Suyin and I, my mind returns to Zaheer.
I need to tell them.
“I met Zaheer before.” I announce.
“WHAT?!” everyone shouts, absolutely shocked. Even Korra, in her paralysed state, appears shocked with her widened eyes.
“When?!” Lin demands. “When did this happen?!”
“It was just before Harmonic Convergence.” I explain, trying my hardest to recollect. “Korra, Jinora, and I meditated into the Spirit World to close the Northern and Southern Portals, but we got separated. A spirit told me to go to Wan Shi Tong’s Spirit Library for some answers. When I got lost, Zaheer approached me. He said his name was Yorru and he guided me to the library and just…disappeared.”
“Did he say anything to you?!” Lin demands, quickly processing my story and like a true Chief of Police seeks out any other relevant information. “Anything at all?”
I pinch the bridge of my nose as I concentrate to find the memories.
“I simply spend my time in this realm because it makes me feel more free than ever. Freedom is essential to one's happiness."
“I haven't been free in a long time. "What ifs" and what could have beens have been plaguing my mind for years. I'm homeless, you see? I am worthless to the eyes of corrupt leaders of the nations. But here? Here, I feel more alive than ever."
“I did. Three of them, actually. They were my best friends. One of them...she...she was the love of my life. But they're gone now."
"I, too, find the culture fascinating. I admire it. Their views on life and how the world works are truly inspiring."
“He…he talked about freedom, corrupt nation leaders, having three now gone best friends with one of them being the love of his life, and his fascination with the Air Nomads.” I slowly tell them as I begin to remember the words. “I assume the three friends he was talking about was the other fugitives present. However, he also claimed he was homeless. For all I know some of it could be bullshit.”
“It’s the best we’ve got.” The Chief tells me. “That’s more information we’ve had about him than when we interrogated him.”
“Why didn’t you tell us before?” Mako questions.
I frown. “I didn’t think it was important. How was I supposed to know he was a criminal? That doesn’t matter now, what matters is that we need to find out let them in and why.”
“And we will do just that!” Suyin exclaims. “We won’t stop until the traitor is found!”
She marches off, anger still burning within her. I frown yet again. The absolute hypocrisy of that woman drives me fucking insane!
I glance back at Korra who is still lying flat on her back and paralysed. I’ve never seen her so helpless before in my life.
My fists clench at the sight.
Zaheer will suffer for this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it!
Did you know Yorru was Zaheer? He used that name when he infiltrated Air Temple Island in "Rebirth"
Hope you all enjoyed it!
Feedback is appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter!

Mako x Female Reader Request: Part Three
The coronation is finally here but Mako gets distracted by something...your relationship with the Beifong twins
Part One Here
Part Two Here
Part Four Here
Mako didn't love to admit it, but things were a lot better now with you around. You stuck to your word and were a lot more civil towards him. You greeted him when he entered the room and both discussed Wu's upcoming schedule. It helped the two of you work out if there would be any threats or concerns and also made you work better as a team. Not just that but you seemed to actually be getting along now too. Mako had found out a few things about you, now you two actually talked instead of glaring at one another and he found you pretty cool! Mako found he could rely on you a lot more and that meant he had more free time for special occasions like when the Avatar was finally returning to Republic City after 3 long years! He left Wu in your capable hands and headed to the docks to see Korra.
You were playing pai sho with Wu when Mako stormed in seeming agitated. His expression was always blank and firm but you could tell something was up. "What happened?" you asked and he glanced over at you. You were ready for some snarky comment and the idea did seem to flash through Mako's mind before he thought better of it. His shoulders relaxed slightly and he looked down "Korra wasn't on the boat, her father thought she'd been here for months". Your eyes widened "he has no idea where she is?". "No" Mako said but it came out harsher than he meant it and you turned away. Mako cursed himself and carried on "no he doesn't...he's really worried". You nodded "I can understand, I'm sure you're all concerned". He shrugged and the clock struck indicating it was the end of your shift. You gathered your things and made your way to the door before glancing at Mako awkwardly. Wu had gone to bed so it was just the two of you. "I'll be leaving now but wake me if you need me to guard Wu". Mako nodded "got it" and continued reading his book. You walked to the door before pausing and with a sigh you turned back. "I'm sorry about your friend, if there's anything I can do to tell let me know". Then before Mako could react you rushed from the room. Mako stared after you in shock utterly confused why you'd offer to help him when you didn't like him. Sure things had gotten better between the two of you but that was work, he didn't think in your personal opinion of him had changed much. Then again his opinion of you had completely changed...maybe yours could do the same? Asami's words came back to him and he pushed the idea from his head, nervous at how it made him feel. Despite the Avatar's absence preparation for the coronation got closer and closer with people flooding in from every corner of the four nations. Lin warned you and Mako this would be the time when something would happen if Kuvira had planned it. The only good thing about all the stress brought by the coronation for Mako was finally getting to see Bolin for the first time in months. Of course he would never say it aloud but he felt forgotten by his little brother, especially with him writing less and less. Beifong liked Mako and you to work at the same time now the coronation was so close but she'd given you both some time off (an hour precisely) to spend with your families. Mako hadn't even thought about your family until he saw you with the Beifongs. Mako and Wu were heading to one final spa treatment before the big day when Wu paused "is that y/n?". Mako turned and spotted you sandwiched between all the Beifongs. From the looks of it, they'd made it 2 feet inside the hotel's doors when they'd seen you and all swarmed. As Mako watched he saw Suyin hug you before nearly being trampled as her twin sons rushed to you. Even Huan seemed happy to see you and gave you a small hug. You looked so carefree and happy with them Mako noted. With the Beifongs you were practically glowing and you looked so happy and loved. Each and every one of them seemed to adore you. Wu smiled "those Beifong twins were always good looking but they're even better than the last I saw them, are they dating y/n?". Mako paused "what?". "The twins, can't you see the way they can't take their eyes off her? There's totally something going on there". Mako paused and focused on the youngest beifong men. He recalled Bolin saying how the two were always a hit with women and he could see how that might be true. Then Mako was distracted when someone punched him in the shoulder. "Bolin!" you heard someone cry and turned to see Mako doing an awkward/adorable mock boxing greeting with his brother. It was the most playful you'd ever seen Mako and when he closed his eyes when he hugged his brother you did find it very sweet. Mako clearly adored his little brother and the feeling seemed mutual. You'd always figured they were polar opposites of one another, Bolin being kind and friendly with Mako being stiff and cold but now watching them you realised they were similar and just expressed themselves differently. While Bolin was very emotional and swept his arms about as he spoke Mako was simply more controlled but nonetheless enthusiastic. You were momentarily caught off guard and didn't realise you were staring until Wei followed your gaze "what are you looking at, ow him". Wei figured you had noticed Bolin, not Mako. Suyin turned and made the same deduction. "Wei, Bolin is still a friend of the family no matter who he works for". Wei went to argue back when Bolin interrupted finally spotting you across the hall. "Hey the Beifongs are here!" Bolin suddenly said and before Mako could say anything Bolin called "Hey Suyin! Bataar!". Bolin bounded over to them leaving Mako to awkwardly follow. Mako saw your eyes go to him briefly before looking back at Bolin. Things were a little awkward all things considered between Bolin and the Beifongs and Opal not being here didn't help. Mako watched as his brother put his foot in it mixing up the twins and was holding in a sigh when you stepped in. "Don't worry I mix them up all the time, the way I see it Wing is the one with the bigger nose and Wei is the one with the wonky biceps". The twins immediately began to argue with you playfully and Mako paused to see one of them fling an arm around your shoulders. "You used to love my biceps" Wing cried and you rolled your eyes "in your dreams, No saber ni papa de algo". Mako had no idea what you’d said but from the Beifong’s response it was an insult and that made him smile. However Mako could see you were flushed and Wu's words from earlier came rushing back into his mind. He surveyed the twins and realised they were pretty good looking and with a name like Beifong as their surname they'd surely be irresistible to anyone. Mako watched you bicker/flirt with the duo and suddenly felt a little annoyed. He wasn't sure why but he didn't find the twins as wonderful as you clearly did. He was about to tell Wu they should head off when the prince pushed in front of him and started greeting Suyin and the others. Mako kept an eye on him when he saw Bolin make his way over to you and give you a big hug. You of course started chatting rapidly and Mako stood nearby awkwardly. You noticed him and brought him into the conversation "it's one hell of a brother you've got here though" and Bolin turned to see Mako. "Yeah I couldn't believe it when I heard the two of you were working together, what are the odds? How's it been?". You looked at Mako and then chuckled "it hasn't been the easiest but I think we've developed a system now". Mako nodded "we've got a good routine and honestly I'm glad for the help". You were stunned to hear Mako admit that when you froze "Mako..." and gestured over his shoulder. Mako turned to see Wu introducing himself to KUVIRA of all people! He rushed to his side and you did the same standing on the other. Kuvira looked at you both and smiled "nice to see you again y/n...". Mako saw your whole body tense and he realised the glares you sent him were nothing compared to this. You sighed and muttered “Mierda” under your breath before looking up with a fake smile. "Kuvira" you said sweetly "so glad to see you here at Wu's coronation. It's going to be great when you hand him over your title". The girl's eyebrow twitched every so slightly which surprised Mako. He'd heard Kuvira was unflappable but then again childhood friends were the best way to touch a nerve and Mako was kinda proud you could do that to the great uniter. "Yes...as much as I'd love to stay and chat with you I have work to do" and she left. “Tonto del culo” you complained and Mako nodded “I agree” making you smile. "I think she's pretty" Wu commented and you and Mako shared a disgusted look before smirking. Then Wu gasped "Mako my reservation!". "Of course" Mako said, a smirk still lingering on his face he started heading to the door when he noted you were following. "Is it not your hour off?" he asked and you nodded "it is but now Kuvira is here I think we need all hands on deck". Mako went to respond when one of the twins called asking where you were going. "I'm going with Mako and Prince Wei, I'll see you later" you called and Mako felt just a tiny bit smug you were leaving them from him. Sure it was your job and technically it was for Wu but it pleased him all the same.
When you got to the spa you basically had to wait a few hours until Wu was done. Usually Mako would use the time to patrol the area alone but this time he asked if you’d like to come along. You seemed surprised but agreed and walked beside him. Mako had a hidden meaning behind this, he wanted to know about the twins. “So it must be nice to see the Beifongs again” he said and you nodded. “It’s so nice! I’ve missed them a lot”. He nodded “you basically grew up with them right?”. You nodded “I started training to be a guard when I was 13″. “Wow that seems young” Mako commented and you shook your head “guard in training was just the title, I was basically a student. No guards in training take on their duties until their 16 at least. Su made sure we all graduated first, many kids take the role because it’s the easiest way to get to graduation”. Mako nodded “wow I had no idea Suyin was so...great”. You chuckled “yeah, that’s a reason so many of us in Zafou look up to her. She has all this wealth and she actually uses it to help people! She’s our heroína, our hero” you explained before wincing “that probably sounds so cringe”. Mako shook his head “no I get it, if I had someone who came along and put me and Bolin through school like that, i’d do anything for them too”. You nodded “you and Bolin are close aren’t you?”. Mako nodded “I guess, I mean we were all each other had for a long time but it does make me worry now he’s so far away and has Opal if he...” Mako paused and you looked at him “if he doesn’t need you anymore?”. Mako nodded suddenly wondering why on earth he was telling you this but you surprised him by laughing. “That’s ridiculous!” you cried “you’re his big brother he’s always going to need you! Plus it’s Bolin we’re talking about, there’s no way he’s ever letting you go”. Mako chuckled “I guess that’s true” and did feel a little better.
Then like an idiot Mako put his foot in it  “so how well do you know the Beifong kids then? You seem close to Wei and Wing”. You paused “yeah I suppose” and Mako should’ve stopped there but he didn’t. “Are you dating them?” he asked and you stopped walking “what?”. “The twins are you seeing them?” he clarified and you shrugged “why do you want to know?”. Mako rapidly searched his brain for an answer and came up with the worst possible one. “I just think as i’m working with you it’d be good to know, in case your compromised or distracted by them”.
He could tell my your face that wasn’t the right thing to say.
You shook your head “you know I thought we were actually making progress but I guess you still don’t trust me huh?”. “No it’s not that” Mako said but you weren’t interested “let’s just go, Wu will be done soon” and you walked back in silence.
You didn’t say a word to Mako the rest of the day, it was like all the progress you’d made had been wiped away.  Later that evening Mako got his hour with Bolin and it was really nice. Finally he got his chance to ask Bolin about your situation and he felt like an idiot. "Y/n and the twins? No way! They're like family, Opal says they've always been close to y/n and basically think of her as a second sister" Bolin cried. "Ow" Mako said and Bolin laughed "ow?”. Mako explained what happened. “You stuck your foot in it big brother” Bolin told him and he nodded. “I know, I just figured if she's close to such a powerful family as the Beifongs, she'd...I don't know". "Choose them instead of you?" Bolin asked and then retreated when he saw Mako's eyebrows flare "what? No! I don’t even like y/n that way”. “Really because I’ve been talking to Asami and she said...”. “I don’t have a thing for y/n!” Mako cried and Bolin nodded “okay okay, let’s change the subject” but he kept smirking when he thought Mako wasn’t looking.
The coronation was the next day and you were still not speaking to him. The way you saw it today was your last day of this job, you just had to get through this and it would all be over. You’d never have to see Mako again...of course you weren’t that lucky.
You knew Wu was planning on letting Kuvira say a few words but you could just tell from the look in her eye she wasn’t going to take this. So you tried to catch Mako’s attention but he was staring at the crowd. Alone you made your way to Wu’s side.
“This Earth kingdom is no more and this man has no authority” Kuvira said pointing a finger at Wu.
You blocked him from her eyesight and put yourself between them in case she attacked. Mako hurried over and took Wu away from her. Only when Wu was safely far away did you back down. You joined Mako and he looked at you “what the hell just happened?”. You shook your head “I have no idea...” when Mako spoke again “how did you know she was going to do that? I looked up and you were just beside him”. You shrugged “I could see it in her eye and I just got the instinct to put myself between them, to protect Wu”. Mako nodded “I’m never questioning how good you are at your job again I swear”. You nodded “I think we’ve got bigger things to worry about”.
