May I present to you...

My take on a potential Valdemar bath scene

because I am one thirsty slu-

I was standing at the edge of the pool, waiting for them. They contemplated the water for a moment, as I did, listening to its soft ripples. I then started to undress. They did too, but much more slowly. I entered the warm water with a satisfied sigh, looking up at them with a playful smile. The process of unbuttoning their lab-coat seemed tedious, but to them, it was natural. I had never seen them in anything different, so it was already quite strange to watch them take of those long leather gloves of theirs. But it was even more surprising to me to see they weren't wearing anything underneath other than bandages.

They weren't fully wrapped in them, like a mummy would. I think I would've found it even stranger. bits of their green skin appeared here and there, the areas most covered and invisible being mainly their torso. The bandages were more sparse around their elbows and knees, leaving their arms and thighs half covered and their forearms and calves bare. They stepped in the water with me, and I looked at them, still smiling.

It wasn't the typical bathing attire, but it suited them. I was about to speak up, but it didn't look like they wanted to discuss yet, therefore I closed my mouth, tilting my head slightly, in a mix of concern and confusion. They looked right at me, with those red irises that always pierce so easily into my soul. I didn't mind. I got used to sustaining their gaze... But their was something I could see, this time. I couldn't fathom what, but there was an emotion there, other than their usual excitement and morbid curiosity, or the spark that usually accompanies their sinister grin.

They walked one or two steps away from me, pushing a floating flower aside with surprising gentleness before turning to face me. I was about to ask again if anything was wrong, but then... They loosened the bandages, letting them delicately fall off their shoulders and hips and into the bath's water.

I had a feeling they just made me a most precious gift... A sight that few, if any, had seen before. I couldn't help my jaw from going slack and my chest from growing warm as I looked ; delicate droplets of water glided down their skin, nestling near their collarbones.

I looked back up at their eyes, which gauged my reaction. They had not spoken yet. The silence went on for a while as I stared at them, a mixture of feelings flowing through my veins. But overall, I could only say I was moved : they'd trusted me enough to show themselves to me... I found them beautiful. All of them.

"Thank you."

It was all I could say while looking back in their eyes, full of gratitude.

They relaxed ever so slightly, as if they'd been anticipating a more intense reaction on my part. And then they smiled. Not one of their usual unsettling grins, no... A soft smile. A rare instance where the tiny bit of humanity left in them resurfaced. It was another gift in itself. I felt as if I could cry in joy.

They invited me to sit comfortably in a corner of the pool, our bodies half sunken in the water. They let me wrap my arms around their waist and rest my head against their shoulder as we looked at the sun go down behind the horizon. We did nothing but bask in its warmth and let our precious moment sink in.

I knew they wouldn't offer me anything else, and I was perfectly content with that, for I didn't need anything more.

I've decided that Faust (from 'The Arcana: A Mystic Romance') should be my first decorative addition to the tip jar! This gave me a chance to play around a bit with layering; I think I'm at least getting a little more efficient. Coming along bit by bit! It was early, way too early. And it certainly wasn't fair.

Nadia's slowly opened her heavy eyelids at the rays of the first-morning sun. Usually, countesses like her would expect to hear some nice, princess-worthy sounds in the morning as their alarm, perhaps the song of birds or the chatter on the streets. But no, not Nadia. She wasn't awake because of the sunrise or the street market opening. What pulled her out of her peaceful sleep was deep, loud snoring.

It sounded like a horn. Like two horns! Hell, like a whole orchestra of deep, deafening horns! Before meeting MC, Nadia had never seen anyone who could snore that loudly.

She rubbed her eyes, trying to see where she was and what was going on. The first thing she saw was her favorite sight in the entire world - her handsome boyfriend, MC.

He was stretched out on his stomach, drooling while snoring on the silk pillows. His bare, muscular back was on full display as the blankets only covered his lower body, up to the waistband of his pajama pants.

Nadia smiled at the view. He was, without doubt, the most gorgeous man, the most gorgeous person she has ever met. From his toes up to his messy hair, everything about him was perfect. He. He was perfect. In every way and every meaning of the word MC was everything Nadia ever wanted.

She yawned, gracefully covering her mouth with her hand. Even though she hated nothing more than leaving MC, she had to go to work and get up from their bed.

The countess figured that her royal consort was sleeping deeply from how much he was snoring. There wasn't a chance for her to wake him up while leaving, right? So, she slowly, very slowly wiggled both of her caramel legs on the edge of the bed. Turning around once more to make sure her lover was asleep, she freed herself from the blanket.

The reason why Nadia was so afraid not to wake him up was that he was a very clingy person. And if he woke up while she was trying to go to work? He'd make a complete fuss and just wouldn't let her leave.

What Nadia didn't know was that once she started stretching in her sitting position, one particular guy looked at her from the corner of one of his eyes. And he certainly was unsatisfied with what he saw! Was she gonna leave him just like that? Alone, and without any morning cuddles? Oh, what if she left without a good-morning kiss too?! Well, that would be simply unacceptable.

"Mmmphh.." He groaned as he was slowly pulled from his sleep as well.

Nadia noticed that, mentally cursing herself over waking him up. And he was sleeping so peacefully...

"Nadi..? Where are you going so early..?"

He asked, hoping that she won't leave him alone in their bed.

"I've got to work, precious. Maybe I can see you for breakfast?"

Now, he was truly unsatisfied. This wouldn't fly, it just simply wouldn't! He was her boyfriend, he deserved even a little bit of her attention!

MC grunted sleepily, letting her know that he wasn't pleased.

Before she could even react, his large arms crept their way around her waist and locked in front of her stomach. He towered over her, pressing her into a bear hug, which she couldn't leave even if she did try.

"What are you doing, darling?" Nadia chuckled at his actions but melted into the hug very quickly afterward.

"Mmph.. Don't go.." He nuzzled his face into her purple locks, tightening his grip on her waist.

The countess lightly tapped his arms, trying to signal that she truly does have to leave.

"Oh, come on now lovely, I really do have to work!"

His attitude was radiating from him as he huffed out, offended that her work was more important. To show her that he'll always get exactly what he wants, he pulled the countess in his lap, now trapping her without a chance of escape.

MC man-handled her so that she was facing him, but quickly buried his head into the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.

"Mm-mm", he moaned, "My Nadi.."

She tried resisting, but there was no way out of his strong arms. Finally, she accepted her defeat, and with a breathy laugh hugged him back.

"Yes, darling, all yours... But how is my work ever going to take me away from you?"

He let out a sigh. How didn't she see that he needed more private time with her? That he craved intimacy more often?

"Just... Not enough time for us, I guess.." He mumbled into her skin, hoping that she wouldn't scold him for how he felt.

But Nadia wasn't like that.

Instead, she moved herself to look him in the eyes, taking his face in her hands.

"Not enough time? Sweetheart, what are you talking about?"

"Well... I just think that you sometimes work too much, you know? I get that you are our countess and that it's a big responsibility, but I can't help but feel like we don't get enough time for us! I need you here with me more, okay? You are my Nadi, and I need to love my Nadi more often!"

The purple-haired woman could've melted. She swung her arms around his neck and started kissing him. Once they pulled away, breathless and love-drunk, Nadia thought for a second and then said:

"You are right, MC. Maybe we do need more time for ourselves. I guess that work will still be there tomorrow... How about we stay in bed today, dear?"

He jumped in excitement, pushing them both down on the soft mattress. Yeah, work could wait. Spending time with each other was way too important.

a while back there was a post going around about the company Dorian acquiring the rights to the vampire chronicles, and people were poking fun at it, saying anne rice must be rolling in her grave, given that Dorian is basically the wattpad of visual novels (in that they provide assets, and their users make VN fanfiction using them and put them up to be read on their app; it even has a predatory profiting-off-their-users-while-barely-compensating-them business model like wattpad!) and anne rice was famously anti-fanfiction

and i made fun of it too at the time. but also around the same time, dorian also acquired the arcana and last legacy (both IPs originally created by VN company Nix Hydra that dorian snatched up when nix hydra collapsed)

and after seeing how the dorian acquisition changed the arcana/last legacy fandoms, it's become clear to me that dorian acquiring rights to the vampire chronicles was actually extremely in the spirit of anne rice's legacy. because dorian is notorious in the arcana/last legacy fandoms for relentlessly copyright striking any fanworks not produced within their glorified VN-based wattpad clone.

Let me ruin some bullshit for you in this trying time

Alex is probably not responsible for that, and it seems like a copy-pasted Dorian's text.

But hear me out.

You don't need Dorian for anything but probably easy live fanfiction. Don't let them trick you into thinking that you do.

⛔️ Traditionnally game studios have always locked creation tools...

✅️ The truth is - there is a number of programs that allow creation of your own visual novels. Some of them require few or no codding. They can be googled in a snap.

For example Game Maker Studio and Ren'Py: Visual Novel Engine(a free one)

⛔️ If you wanted to work on a game like The Arcana you had to work at a big studio.

✅️ The Arcana was once started by two people and developer's team grew according to it's success.

✅️ A number of The Arcana fans successfully started as gamedevs. Lunaris Games make a fine quality games, the first of them, When The Night Comes has love interests, that once were fan apprentices(100% - Ezra and Alkar).

Both Nix Hydra and Lunaris games started as cool Idea, nice art, enthusiasm and then they got a sorta-kickstarter and took off.

If you are willing to create something original and of your own you don't necessarily need a agregator platform for more than a starter.

If you are a creator, don't sell yourself cheap.

Doing something out of fandom enthusiasm is always great, but please remember that they need you more than you need them.

No matter how fondly they will ever speak of it, the main thing is - Nix Hydra is not over for nothing, they can't afford hiring fully anymore. Currently they do not offer you full payment for your work, however they plan profiting on whatever you might do, and by such messages they make you believe you are lucky with such an opportunity.

Please be aware, confident and safe, my darlings. You don't need some werid "empowerment" you are the power.

Considering my blog.

Some of you might not know, but my original blog was eaten by Tumblr, and this is a different blog from my original. I do miss my old blog, but I love the people that I've met because of my content here.

Before you freak out, no, I'm not signing off. But I have resparked an interest in one story that I started with on Tumblr. My old blog got a lot of followers from The Arcana Visual Novel Fandom, and I found myself obsessed with it again.

I'm making this post because it does mean quite a lot to me. Back on my old blog, my fanfiction work in The Arcana never felt right. I felt like my writing skills were not good enough to make a story that me or my followers would even like.

Now that I'm older, and my writing skills have improved with the work I've put in, I'm happy to say that I feel more than prepared to tackle it again.

I don't usually make posts like this to announce a fic, because my inspiration often hits unprompted and the need to create something becomes an obsession. But this is something I've wanted to write for six years, and I finally feel skilled enough to make it right.

So I'm announcing a Nadia x Fem!Apprentice: Callisto,

The Ace of Swords

The story will be split up into 3 Books. The first taking place from Callisto's Point of View, the second from Nadia's, and the third, will be a fic of Nadia's route with a split POV between Nadia and Callisto.

The 3 book fic will cover the plague, all the way to the end of Nadia's route (with plenty of additions from me, because I'm not about to just steal a whole story).

Hi :3 call me Cavee! (Ka vi) I had Tumblr before but like, I used it for publishing fanfiction and I kinda just wanted to have my own personal blog to just do whatever. So, I'm looking for moots!

Hello hello and welcome to our blog! A quick spur-of-the-moment decision sparked the creation of this account, though we are both excited to see it through! The main focus of this account is to simply share our drabbles for whatever fandoms we may be interested in that week, and to post some of our fanfiction ideas that we never really got off the ground. At this time we are both open to most fandom writing requests, simply because we’d love to expand our horizons on that front. Below you can read about both members of this account, their interests, and some excerpts of their writing!

For starters, hello, I’m Rat! My pronouns are She/It/They, and I’m pansexual! I’ve been writing for many years now, though I've never had the confidence to actually post anything. I remember a bit over a year ago I had attempted to make a personal tumblr account, but I never went through with it. Thankfully Cel was kind enough to pressure me into this <3. On top of writing I’d love to share my current musings about the Jack Reacher books, as I’ve recently re-discovered them after a few years of not looking into them. Lee Child is a huge inspiration for me, and I hope to convey that through my semi-obnoxious posts about his books 💔.

#I did Muriel then Lucio and now Julian #Idk which I prefer. Out of the storylines probably Julian but characters themselves I like Lucio the best (in his version) but #His ending sucked bc I hate those 'adventure is over now we leave to travel the world' it's so boring #Muriel is cute but his story felt so high stakes and stressful idk #Is there an order I was supposed to do these in #Sofi plays vns

Shift Update || Chapter 3: The Sun

Summary: For the past week it’s been absolute chaos at the theatre. It was a miracle that Jamie was able to find Asra three days prior in the main market, the walk to work seemed to be the only break that he had when the market was still open to go looking for him, hoping against hope that Jamie would see Asra in his stall again. He's done his part to invite Asra to spend time together after the performance, and he can freak out about the implications of that later. Right now, he just has to get through the performance. Then, it's time for him to have some fun. - *Warning: physical abuse at the very end, on a scale of 1 (not bad) to 5 (extremely violent), it's a 1.5*

50 Kisses - The Arcana Writing/Art Challenge

Woah! I was going through my drafts and found this! This is so old! Might as well post it. I don’t know if I finished it or if it ended where I left it and I just forgot to post it, but here ya go!

01 - Good Morning

💖Nadia x GN Reader

The sound of birds chirping makes me stir in my sleep. I think about going back to my slumber, but a sliver of warm yellow glow is peeking through the window and hitting my face. How annoying. Sprawling out on my back, I reluctantly rub the sleep from eyes and gaze up at the ceiling.

There’s nothing enjoyable about early mornings. The air is always cold and crispy, breathing it in never fails to make my nose and throat dry.

Then there’s something about awakening to the feeling of nauseous and hungry at the same time. I know I need to eat breakfast, but just smelling or looking at food has my stomach twisting in all sorts of unpleasant ways.

The waking up part is always a nightmare as well. Blurry and heavy eyes, tangled hair, cotton mouth, stuffy nose— nothing about it is pleasant.

“Y/N dear,” Nadia emerges from the bathroom, fully dressed and ready to take on the day. I know the routine by now, she’s going to want me to get up and have breakfast with her. “Come along now and get ready. I need you at my side today.”

I subconsciously let out a grunt as a response, gaze still fixated on the ceiling. Something about today just makes me not want to even bother with anything. There’s silence and I assume Nadia left.

Just as I let out a sigh, Nadia’s face comes into view above me. It honestly made me jump, newfound adrenaline snapping me out of my tired state. A chuckle escapes Nadia’s lips at my reaction, “My.” She cups a hand on my cheek and traces over my lips with her thumb, “You truly are adorable.”

Nadia leans down, strands of her hair brushing over her shoulders. Before our lips can meet, she stops. Her lips teasingly hovering over mine, an amused expression painting her features.

“...” Not knowing what to do or say, I just stare at her. Then, very slowly, our lips connect. My breath hitches at the sudden contact. The kiss is sweet yet short lived.

When Nadia pulls away, there’s a blush coating from each cheek and across her nose, “I suppose mornings aren’t easy for some. I too dread the crack of dawn each day.”

MC denied Portia's accusations.

"Yeah, right. I'll pretend that's true!"

The red-head wasn't having it, no matter how many times MC tried to deny it. Nobody believed her when she said that! Maybe she wasn't as convincing as she thought.

Playfully pushing her friend away, MC exclaimed:

"Portia! Don't be like that! You know that I'm not dating Asra and Nadia! Believe me, if I was, you'd know about it! You literately live with Nadia!"

"Please, I've seen how you look at My Lady! Plus, you and Asra already act like you've been dating for years! I refuse to believe that there's nothing between you three", The Devorak sister said back, smirking.

MC tucked her knees in her arms, defeated.

"Even if there were something between us, I'm not sure if they would even want a relationship! Especially a poly one! If they aren't ready to be in a two-way relationship, imagine what would it be like in a three-way relationship!"

The red-head stood up from the grass, offering a hand to her best friend.

"Well, you know what people say: Two is fun, three's a party!"

MC blushed at the thought. She would always lie and say that thoughts of her dating Asra and Nadia haven't crossed her mind, but Portia knew the truth. She just knew her too well to believe her lies! Not like the rest of the world believed it...

The magician's apprentice considered herself a good liar. However, nobody believed it whenever she regarded her feelings toward the countess and her master. No matter what she said, or how she said it, the sexual and romantic tension between the three was undeniable. It got to the point where everyone in Vesuvia was convinced that they were, in fact, dating!

Nadia has gotten countless comments and questions in interviews about it. She didn't confirm nor deny this theory, keeping her subjects on their toes with witty, clever responses.

"My Lady, is it true that you, the great magician Asra, and his apprentice are dating?"

She would simply smirk, not giving anything away.

"Well, I am quite fond of both, they are very dear to me"

And Asra? He is already fed up with people stopping him on the street to ask him about the rumors. They've even had a couple of people who would book a tarot reading, only to ask him about MC and Nadia!

One thing was clear: MC, Nadia, and Asra were quickly becoming Vesuvia's juiciest story. Something had to change, it had to! They are either going to come out openly and deny the rumors in front of everyone, or they will have one long talk (possibly over tea) that they all so desperately avoided. MC then realized it was time to listen to Portia's advice - she needed to talk to them.

Yesterday morning, she sent them the invitations to her little tea party. That's what she described it as - a relaxing cup of tea over some small talk. Maybe she forgot to add the part where she would propose the idea of them being together.

It would be risky, she knew. But, it could also end wonderfully. She could either lose two of her dearest friends tonight or gain a partner and a girlfriend. Damn. What was she going to do?!

After her talk with Portia in the forest, MC finally admitted her feelings to herself. Yes, she did have a crush on the tall, purple-haired woman, but she also had a crush on her white-haired master. What was she going to do if one of them shared her feelings, but the other didn't? Or worse, if they both didn't feel the same kind of butterflies in their stomachs as she was?

The poor thing almost had a panic attack when the time came! Even though Asra lived with MC, he agreed to take a walk that day and then come over with Nadia, just to give his precious little apprentice more time to prepare for the tea party.

They did come, exactly at sundown, to see a hot teapot of camomile tea and some puff pastries nicely decorated on the coffee table in the lounging area.

"Oh, hi guys!"

MC went for a hug, but went in both directions, accidentally pressing them into a group one.

"I'm sorry! God, this is awkward.." She apologized, her cheeks reddening with embarrassment.

"It's alright, MC, we are all friends here! No need to feel embarrassed for hugging", The countess reassured, offering a smile.

Asra joined in, agreeing with the countess.

"Yeah, MC, we've all known each other for a long time. There isn't anything wrong with hugging us! Wait, we'll just show you!"

Just like that, the three were tightly embraced, holding each other by the waists.

"So... You wanna have a look at the tea party?"

MC offered, with both of her crushes gladly accepting. They've talked over tea, and time seemed to fly by. The late hours of the night were slowly creeping up on them.

"I have to say, this has been the most pleasant, MC. However, it is quite late... I'm afraid that I have to return to the palace"

Nadia announced, leaving her now empty cup on the table.

"But before that, would you like to tell us why did you invite us here?"

MC's face reddened at the question. How did she know..?

Portia!

"MC, we know this isn't just hanging out. You wanted to tell us something, right? Go on, we're listening."

Asra added, reassuring his apprentice.

"Okay, fine... I called you guys here because I want to talk to you about everything that's going on, you know? With all the rumors and stuff?"

The countess and the magician looked at each other, confused.

"The rumors about... Us?"

Poor MC's cheeks reddened at that. She nodded, clearing her throat.

"Ehm, uh, yeah... That rumor... I felt like we needed to talk about it. In the past few weeks, people are constantly teasing us that we are together, I'm sure you've noticed... So I just wanted to know how you feel about it.."

Both Nadia and Asra smirked. Double-trouble.

"Well, the teasing is certainly quite annoying and repulsive. However, the thought of being with you two isn't at all.."

Nadia shyly smiled, letting her white-haired friend talk.

"I agree. But, MC, how do you feel about all of this? How do you feel about us, together?" A soft blush spread across his face, even on the tips of his ears.

"That's what I wanted to talk about... All of this talk about us made me realize that maybe I do have feelings for you... But, that's the problem! I have feelings for both of you! And I can't be with both!"

"Why not?" Nadia responded, more than satisfied to hear MC admitting her feelings.

Poor MC got confused. 'Why not?' What was that supposed to mean?

"To tell you the truth, we've also had feelings for you for a while now.."

Asra whispered, looking her into the eyes. Nadia silently agreed, nodding her head with a loving smile.

"Yes, and we've been meaning to tell you, but we just didn't know how... We didn't want you to choose... However, we realized that we also had some chemistry with each other... I guess what we're trying to ask you is.."

"Will you be our girlfriend, MC?"

They asked in unison as Nadia finished her explanation. MC was dumbstruck, not believing what just happened.

"Really? You two aren't messing with me?"

Asra moved closer, placing one of their hands on her cheek.

"Of course, we aren't. So, what do you say..? Would you like that too..?"

The squeal she let out was the happiest one they've ever heard. She pressed Nadia and Asra together in excitement, accidentally catching their lips in a quick, fluttering kiss. This time, she didn't pull away that quickly. Asra was the first one to get a proper kiss, but Nadia wasn't left hanging either. After they were finished with their first kisses, MC pulled away, giggling.

"Guess Portia was right... Three really is a party."

20% - Rereading what I've written so far cause I don't remember because I abandoned this thing 4 months ago

15% - Laughing at the things I write cause it's smut and I'm apparently as mature as a 5 year old

4% - Looking for the right word

10% - Thinking about what to write

1% - Actually writing
