last night i got home kind of tipsy and very much in tears and my mother told me the force you exert to keep someone in your life is proportional to the force with which they will leave your life. if you have to fight tooth and claw to keep them, their leaving will be just as hard, just as harsh, and just as definite.
Back in kindergarten when I thought I was a girl, my hair was so long that kids accidentally stepped on it when I was sitting on the floor. Has Vasco dealt with people stepping on his ears before?
For sure. That's the price you pay for having impressive ears.
Don't judge a book by its cover. An essay by Mew Pt. 2
Mew in his revenge era went shopping and thought, "you know what screams I'm gonna fuck you up, maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't? Floral/patterned shirts," and proceeded to buy a bunch of those.
BOOK KASIDET as MEW WITSARUT ( ONLY FRIENDS EPS. 7-12 )
Correction: I missed one outfit in ep. 6 and instead of remaking that set, I'll just post it below because it's actually the hottest Mew has looked, so I'm not even upset.
see the interesting thing is that while 'Al art' continues to improve aesthetically it also continues to be made by and for people who don't actually *create* art, just *look* at it. and it's been so interesting to watch, because it's such a wild insight into what people who don't draw are seeing when they look at pictures, what they care about, what they don't notice.
some things (faces, eyes, lighting, hands) have been pretty much perfected, or at least reached a point where they don't 'look wrong' upon first glance, but i still have yet to be surprised to find out an image was Al-generated because there's such a clear lack of artistic process behind any of it. if you look at any part of the 'art' and ask yourself 'why and how would someone draw this like that' there's never an answer. there's nothing there.
Hi, request here. Ignore it if you want. I'm not sure if you did this already and I'm too lazy to check, but could you put Jamil in Playful stage (whatever it's called) dress and Kalim in the masquerade dress
playful dress jamil & masquerade kalim!!! :DDD
so uhhh here’s my really rough and simplified take on it??? i hope the colors look at least decent bc i was so indecisive on that part 🧍
and thank you so much for this idea!! i’ve especially been meaning to try to imagine kalim’s masquerade outfit so you gave me an excuse to do so!!
anyways i was REALLY going back and forth between sticking to the theme and just putting them on what i think looks good and i think i just. managed to do a small compromise.
also forgive me the only thing i know about about playful stage is the fox man. i haven’t seen the story 💀 (i kinda only know that it’s based on pinocchio)
so i just went off every character's playful dress outfit and took inspiration here and there (and mostly from kalim's)
also i noticed the ribbons vs tassels in the outfits, dont know what that’s about so i just. settled with tassels.
same thing with kalim i just took from jamil's masquerade outfit but flipped it and made the headwear pointier.
and i just took a few artistic liberties here and there ;;;
also i highkey avoided the elaborate patterns because im not too confident with coming up with them 😖
that’s about some of my thought process??? i’m fine with any questions if any!!
@onenicebugperday Bit of an unfortunate update, but not without hope.
A week ago as of posting this, Green Bean Casserole had a pretty severe mismolt. I think they fell and got stuck behind their favorite stick in an awkward position after leaving the exuviae. I only found and assisted them the next morning, but by then their exoskeleton had already hardened up. Thankfully all of their limbs are intact and functional, but, well... The situation is far from ideal, as you’ll see.
At first I was pretty worried they wouldn’t make it; they seemed to be struggling to move around due to the deformity, falling when climbing and generally looking wobbly. I moved them to a different terrarium set up for my flat headed snake Absinthe, both because of the softer substrate and the lack of skinks that might be bold and attempt to take advantage of a weakened mantis. I wasn’t even sure if food would be able to pass through their system, and they had no interest in prey at all, which wasn’t a good sign. However, with some adjustments to the layout of the temporary terrarium I moved them to, they did climb and manage to hang from the lid with some effort. GBC seemed like they were a fighter, and the day after the bad molt they accepted and ate a grasshopper, so I decided to see if I could get them to their next molt and hopefully allow them to recover.
They’ve since adapted to their new shape, and I’ve moved them back to their usual terrarium for easier monitoring and better sun access. They’re climbing and hanging without falling, eating well, and drinking water droplets from the screen lid when I water the terrarium. I’d say they’re about as close to thriving as they could be in this situation! Here’s how they’re looking today. Ignore the escapee grasshopper in the background, its jailbreak was short lived…
I do feel a bit mean for making this comparison, but…
My leucistic Texas rat snake, Dilbert, was so excited for dinner that he came flying out at it when I opened his enclosure and missed by about a mile. I tried to move his food to intercept his path and he ended up grazing me and catching two teeth in my thumb. Thankfully it was the side of my thumb, not the pad.
It didn't phase him at all, and he most likely didn't even notice.
I tried to be stoic but I did utter some choice words. I managed to get his meal into his mouth and him back into his cage before extracting these two snake thorns. Thankfully they're very smooth and came out easily.
Then not even ten minutes later Dextro the corn snake, who it turns out is starting a shed cycle and has reduced vision, jumped past the meal held by my feeding tongs and grabbed my finger and thumb together in a huge bite. He wrapped my entire hand and my tongs, so I couldn't reach his head to tap him or help him disconnect. My middle finger and thumb were pinched together and pierced by two rows of tiny, very sharp needles. He realized his mistake and voluntarily let go after an excruciating 15-20 seconds of me trying to hold very still. At least he had the decency to look embarrassed. He then went back in his enclosure and poked his actual dinner with his nose very thoroughly all over to make sure it was really food and not still my hand before eating it.
My point is that it doesn't matter how much we trust these animals or how well socialized they are. Accidents happen. It's not their fault and I can't be mad at them or even at myself. Anyone who keeps a snake shouldn't ask whether they'll be bitten, but when.
