i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

I recall saying this before, but it bears repeating:

There could be a billion trans people in the world and it still wouldn't be a bad thing because being trans is not a bad thing. Even if the rate of people discovering they are trans is "disproportionate" to trends from decades ago, that is not a bad thing. In fact, it's a natural consequence for there being more trans people being able to stay alive, and, overall, being able to live in a slightly more tolerant world. You'd only see that as a bad thing if you actively didn't want trans people to either live or live a life that facilitates wellness.

"I have a cat. Please let me show you my cat" is a human quality that transcends generations. Before photos, we painted portraits of our companion animals on various surfaces and we will continue to do this til the end of time.

the era of "people don't have to know everything about us" coinciding with big life commitments like building and owning a house together lowkey alters my brain chemistry. that they've done these really important things, but with very clear boundaries kept up between their life and the content they put out — it really reinforces the fact that they are real people who genuinely just want to be together as real people. not as youtubers or personalities, as human beings. and them deciding not to show us their house is kind of a perfect metaphor for that: none of what they've built together was built for us. they built it for them.
