glimmers of Amsterdam. • I was able to visit the Anne Frank Huis but didn’t anticipate the emotions that live within the walls of that house. I was startled and I could sense those within my group being equally overwhelmed with emotion.

one thing that has deeply resonated is, the gift that I have in this incarnation to live as freely as I do. sometimes it’s easy to become fixated, and I then overlook the opportunities I’m afforded year after year. my gratitude practice may be present but I’ve seen how it’s shifted over the last ten years.

So my hope for the next coming months is to fall deeply into the simplicity of living with gratitude. to celebrate even the opportunity to try over and over and over again….I’ll head to a formalized program again next year and I can already feel this being a lesson in the coming semester. Along with my work picking up momentum, an eternal practice of patience.

Anywho, I’ve since departed from Amsterdam and am making my way through Germany.

If you're flying this holiday season, and your flight got canceled due to bad weather, here's what you do.

Take a deep breath and calm yourself: You won't be able to solve anything if you're in a panic, so just take a moment to relax.

Contact your airline company by phone: You can usually find it using your preferred internet search engine. Give them a ring and go through the options until you reach a representative.

Wait patiently for your turn to come up: Odds are that you aren't the only one whose flight was just canceled . It may take between fifteen minutes to an hour. If it takes longer, hang up and try again at step one.

When the representative speaks, reply: "Hi, I just saw that my flight was canceled. I was wondering if you had more information on that?" They're probably as uncomfortable with this situation as you are, and anger won't solve this problem.

Ask for more details on your flight out: Date, time, confirmation code, and an e-mail to verify this information with. Memory can be tricky sometimes.

"Thank you so much, have a great day": Take a deep breath and relax. Readjust a few things to make your renewed trip a little easier on yourself after everything (your ride plans, housesitters, etc.)
