again, nash has two daughters

jameson has two boys and a girl

grayson has one girl

and xander has a boy and girl

ive decided im gonna give them names so it doesn’t get confusing, so just bare with me here 😭😔

- jamesons eldest sons name is lucas, and he’s the most similar to avery

- averys middle child’s (the other son) name is michael (yes I stole it from the naturals shut up 😔) and he’s the most similar to jameson

-averys daughters name is hannah, and is a good mix of both her parents but still more similar to jameson

- graysons daughters’ name is calla and she’s a good mix of both her parents

- nash’s daughters are twins but are also two completely different people. the eldest one, (by like a minute) kylie, is more similar to nash, meanwhile mara is more like libby

- and last but not least, xanders eldest sons’ name is xavier, (something similar to xander LOL) and he’s very similiar to his mom, meanwhile his younger sister, whose name is nia, is more like her dad

- nia is 11 while xavier, calla, lucas, michael, and hannah are all 16-17-18-19 but they still make sure to include her!

- callas extremely close with averys children, but fights with michael ALL. THE. TIME.

- lucas is the most mature and makes sure the rest of them don’t get in trouble

- kylie and mara are both older than the rest of them but still always manage to be involved in their drama (partially for advice and so they don’t do something stupid)

- michael is the most wild person on april fools and literally goes CRAZY with his pranks

- in fact, every april fools teams are set up

- on one team there’s hannah, lucas, (who eventually agreed to set up teams) michael, kylie, and nia

- on the other team is calla, mara, and nia, whose their spy. she pretends that she’s on the other team, while giving her team information on their pranks

- parents eventually end up getting involved every year as the pranks get more and more diabolical

- all the kids have a sport that they enjoy doing, apart from xavier and calla, who really don’t like them. xaviers fine with playing a small match of soccer or football with his cousins sometimes if they force him, but calla will under no circumstances play anything involving a ball. she does do track though, and is a very fast runner (yes ik tracks a sport but pretend it’s not for like 2 mins pls 😔)

- there is always drama when they get together and do a big family dinner, and it’s usually michael or kylie starting the drama 💀

- hannah and calla both don’t have sisters but they see each other as their sisters and are practically inseparable 💗

- everybody favourites nia because she’s the youngest and she’s usually the one putting the star up on the christmas tree 😭😭 (but everyone loves her so it’s okay 🫶)

- calla is an academic weapon and is on the debate team

-michael and calla are often beefing and whenever they do, avery ALWAYS takes callas side and tells michael, “you’re older, you should know better” (he’s older by like 11 months 💀)

- lucas is the best chess player in the family next to avery and they regularly spend hours on a single match

- although calla takes more after her mother, one thing her and grayson have in common is their love for fashion. they both love making a good impression on people and often go on long shopping trips while callas mother (lyra 🤭) stays home because although she loves shopping, there is no way she could shop for as long as they do

- hannah loves drawing and has taken many different art classes before. she’s extremely talented now and loves sketching things/people around the house. it happens so much that it’s now just become normal to look up and see her drawing you 😭💀

- but she never really keeps her drawings and always wants to throw them out, but every time she tries to jameson takes the sketch from her and put it with his other folder of her art 💗

- hannah regularly takes her brothers’ sweatshirts and sweaters and whenever they see clothing missing from their closet they immediately know she took them 💀

- nia always loves having sleepovers with calla and hannah because then they can talk about anything and everything with each other (and binge watch movies till 4 am)

- they have a curse jar and jameson and michael are usually the ones putting most of the money in it

- lucas pretends to be so mature but in reality he’s an og gossip girl and often asks hannah and calla if they heard anything about anyone 💀 (the three of them stay up talking about people in their classes for HOURS)

Summary- the real reason why Dick started hating Bruce Wayne

Dick has told his friends and his team why he no longer associates with the Batman. That they just disagreed on many things. But it wasn’t true. He hated Batman but he also hated Bruce, maybe even more

His hatred started at the ripe age of 17 when he walked in on his adoptive parents fighting.

Dick hanged back in the hallway to see why they were fighting.

“YOU CHEATED ON ME AND GET HER PREGNANT AND YOU EXPECT ME TO STAY WITH YOU!” She yelled and Bruce hung his head low.

“I said it was an accident.” He mumbled so low Dick could barley hear.

“An accident?” She scoffed before shoving past him, not stopping when she saw Dick. He watched her disappear into the elevator and stepped out from the hallway to catch Bruce’s eyes. He glared hard at him before stomping away to find the woman he has just started considering his mother.

When he reached the closed door he pressed his ear against the door and heard her pained sobs. He opened the door softly and saw Y/n on the floor with a suitcase in front of her.

“Y/n?” He said softly and her head shot towards him. She wiped her eyes and put on her best smile.

“Hey, you need anything?” She asked and Dick noticed her lip quiver.

“I heard what he did to you.” He said and walked over to sit next to her. “You didn’t deserve it.” He pulls her in and she relaxes in his hold.

“Dick. You know I have to go.” She said and Dick felt his heart stop.

“No-no you can’t leave.” He said and held onto her tightly.

“I can’t.” She said and pulled back to grab clothes and place it in the suitcase. Dick looked at her shocked before sighing deeply and standing up to run out of the room. He ran to his own room and grabbed a suitcase, he shoved clothes and essentials to place in it.

It was probably an hour later when Alfred came by and told Dick that Y/n wanted to see him down in the car. Alfred wasn’t shocked to see Dicks room completely empty and the suitcases by him, Y/n was the one Dick bonded with the most.

He made his way down the manor until he saw Y/n outside placing her bags in a car and Bruce trying to reason with her.

“Y/n! Don’t leave please.”

“Im not staying here.” She said and placed her last bag in the trunk before shutting it. She looked back to see Dick running towards them with two suitcases behind him and a backpack.

“Wait for me.” He said out of breath and dropped his stuff. Bruce looked at him in shock and tried to speak but she spoke first.

“Dick you can’t come with me.” She said and Bruce nodded.

“You have to stay here.” At hearing Bruce talk Dick rolled his eyes.

“You don’t get a say in this.” He seethed.

“Yes I do, Im your parent just as much as Y/n is.”

“Oh cut the bullshit you never considered me your kid just another weapon at least Y/n treats me like a human being.” Said Dick and went to open the trunk but Y/n stopped him.

“Dick, I know your mad but I can’t give you a safe life, Bruce can.” You said and pulled him in for a hug. Dick gelt emotions run through him and he hugged her back tightly.

“I don’t want a new mom.” He said and started crying. Those words made Y/n was to cry hard again.

“Y-You can always visit me, anytime you want.” She said and looked to Bruce who had red eyes and tears running down his face at the sight.

Y/n slowly pulled away and gave Dick a bug kiss on the cheek.

“Try to be good for me.” She said but Dick didn’t answer. She turned away and began walking to the drivers seat and slid in. The car turned on and she waved at Dick, then she was gone. Bruce and Dick watching her leave before Dick turned to Bruce with anger in his eyes.

“How could you, you-you asshole!” He cried and Bruce tried to reach out for him.

“Dick im sorry-.” He was cut off when he face got hit with a heavy backpack.

“Sorry? SORRY? YOU THINK SORRY IS GOING TO CUT IT, SHE LEFT US AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT, YOU HURT HER!” He yelled and walked away, grabbing his stuff in the process. “And don’t think im going to accept your new bitch and bastard.” What he said was cruel but he was just to angry to care.

Dick sat at the cafe and waited for his adoptive mother. The memory he just went through pained his heart. He watched Y/n enter the cafe and look around for him. Dick raised his hand to call her over with a big smile.

“Hey sweetheart.” She said and welcomed him with big arms. Its been a few months since he had seen her since his move to Detroit.

“I got you your drink.” He said and they sat down. “So what did you need to tell me that made you come here all the way from Metrapolis?” Y/n took a deep breath.

“Ok Dick, don’t get mad, because I know how you can be, but.” She started and Dick furrowed his eyebrows. “Me and Bruce started talking again.” Dicks eyes then widened.

“Why would you do that? After what he did?” He said and started feeling agitated.

“Hey, I know you two had another fall out and this isn’t al all what you wanted to hear but just listen.” She said and Dick instantly sat down and clasped his hand together on the table. “We got back in contact a few weeks ago and its been good, we caught up and realized how much time we lost.”

“So whats going to happen? You’re going to get back together and let the same thing happen again.” He asked but she shook her head.

“We’re taking it slow.” Dick scoffed and leaned against the cafe chair. “But its not official, he was a kid with that woman, but now shes out of the picture. I mean part of the reason he even called was that his baby momma signed away her maternal rights and didn’t know what to do.”

“I know I was there when she turned over Damien.” It was quite after that when she spoke.

“Dick?”

“Hmm?”

“I know you’re not happy about it but can you at least try to be happy for me?” She asks and he thinks.

“Ill try, for you.” He says and take a long sip of his drink before standing up and opening his arms. Y/n stepped into them and held her son tightly.

“Okay lets stop all these emotions, I want to hear about what my detective son has been doing.” Dick pulled back and gave her a bright smile.

“So much has happened that I need to tell you.”

Okay, so huge fan of Miraculous Ladybug right here, however towards the end of season two, less of a Marinette fan. Well, less of a Marinette/Adrien fan. So! I had an idea after seeing all of the MariBat fics all over AO3 and decided ‘yes, but maybe AdriBat??? 👀’

So that’s exactly what Im doing! Im in the process of outlining an AdriBat crossover!!! Yay!

So far, the plot is that after the Miraculous team defeats Hawkmoth, and its revealed that he is in fact Adrien’s father, Adrien becomes a sort of social pariah. The miraculous’ have deactivated in order to give the Kwamii’s time to regain their energy.

Marinette and the others weren’t able to reveal their identities to Chat Noir before Adrien was sent off. He’s having a real rough time. So by some means or other, he ends up in Gotham City, all alone. He comes into the possession of *giggle* a BAT miraculous and uses it to feel like he has a purpose.

Except he also uses his own skills (and leftover cat miraculous tendencies) to steal miraculous’ from around the city, because Gotham’s rogues are somehow getting them and its making life difficult for the Bats.

So the Bats are looking for two people who ARE THE SAME PERSON. One is a hero who is more like a bat than Batman, the other is a literal Cat burglar who seems to be more stealthy than Catwoman. They learn about the Miraculous through Constantine, and call in the closest known guardian.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

All while this happens, no one knows what happened to Adrien Agreste.

And because I can’t write a heteronormative ship to save my afterlife, assume everything is gayer than a rainbow.

Personally, my top two DC brain rot's are the Super Sons and the Teen Titans so thoughts on the Teen Titans if you have any?

yes: there are too many

jk but there really are a lot and i havent gone through most of them so i can only talk about the ones i know, i shamefully havent read any with dick grayson cause my god comics from the 80s take a specific kind of strength

i enjoyed young justice (1998) with my boy timothy but it was kind of insane, and then teen titans (2011) and teen titans (2014) and teen titans (2015) were... incredibly hard to read but shout out to tim being so in love with superboy i actually felt bad for him

im one of the two people approximately who liked teen titans (2016) and i have no excuse, i just like unhinged damian managing to convince half his team that torturing people is valid cause hes sad

ofc like, teen titans (2003) the tv show is uh everything and made me who i am as a person and i am emotionally attached to it like every person in the planet who was a kid in the 2000s

and i recently watched titans (2018) and i did like it more than i should have, probably, but just... dick graysons actor is so perfect and superboy is actually not annoying and bernard is perfect actually

THE FINAL GAMBIT SPOILER!!!

i think this is my favorite moment between grayson and avery despite how angsty it is. i don't really like reading angsty or sad moments in books but ill let this one pass and make it my favorite.

because everything came down to this moment. all the build up from the first book, the little things they find attractive about one another, how they care about each other, and all the moments they share together- it all came down to this.

there's no way they're not in love with one another. but maybe they feel a different type of love. or maybe avery just loves jameson a lot little bit more because i do believe people can outlove (?) some other people.

but im not here to complain about the ending, even though i am team grayson and will root for the man until the end of this, because i do think avery is meant for jameson. they bound to fall in love guys. they're literally right there, together. all the glittery and sparkling feelings from solving the puzzles and riddles together are what they live for. they're meant to be and i can't think about avery and grayson getting together.

in terms about character development, jameson definitely gone through it the most. i don't need to elaborate on that because it's classic/common one for a male main character. but grayson also went through a path of his own character development from his guilt and depressive phase after the tragedy with emily to slowly moving on to avery even though it's a one sided love. that's one hell of a journey on its own.

jameson is good at distracting himself while grayson is too good at putting a wall up around him.

i hate love triangle but since it's a mystery book it doesn't strongly suggest the trope as one of the main plot until this third book. the way it's written just doesn't give it away as much but you're very aware of it. that being said, every little moments between avery and either grayson and jameson, just feel a lot more enthralling. so i did enjoy reading it.

one last thing, i really love the first paragraph i annotated in this part because loving an idea of someone is very common, i think. we already have our own impression of other person when we first met them so might as well develop a whole love for said person after the sweet moments we spent together. it does happen and it's scary because people are unpredictable and after loving an idea of that person for a long time, a response to that may go one way or another. unless you truly and wholeheartedly love said person for who they are and maybe you can hope for them to reciprocate the feeling.

and for grayson to confess his feelings to avery and accepting her not reciprocating his, is very gut-wrenching and heartbreaking to witness. but as i already said before, we all saw it coming from miles away. it's just a matter of getting the words out in the air and settling it down for some sort of closure for them.

so yes i detest this moment but also relish it for what it is.

How Ep 7 should’ve actually happened if not for Plot™

OKAY– so I was going to write this as like a scene rewrite BUT i don't want to sksksksks soooorry :D EITHER WAY LET'S GET TO IT BABIES

posting this specially for my angels @pinkchubbiebunnie and @trice-divergent thank you so much for letting me take so much of y'alls time with my bullshit :3

For the purpose of this, I’m going to assume the accusation scene happens somewhat similarly, but the only one who's actually suspicious of Jason is Rachel, cause her thing is directly linked to him and she's more angry and upset than anything. The others will bring the stuff that happened to them but more as in a “huh… something hinky is going on here” and maybe try to investigate it properly

A day after Jason almost dies NO ONE has talked to him until Dawn asks Dick to do it, neither her or Kory seem sure he’s okay enough to do a good job at it – he's obviously distracted with something else. Which leads me to my first 2 points: 1. at least one of them would take that as a clue someone should do a follow up with Jason after Dick talks to him and 2. it's crazy to think that NO ONE ELSE in the entire team didn't even try to check up on Jason – specially Gar or Dawn – that’s stupid at the least and INCREDIBLY out of character at most.

So with that in mind, I'm going to do a character by character “analysis” to show what I think really happened, in an AU where events aren't controlled by Plot™. I'm so glad this is what I'm currently using my psychology education for !! hooray !!

Dick Grayson

i can't say for sure how much of this is an accurate read on Dick’s personality or and how much is just wishful thinking on my part but let's get to it

Even though Dick is – clearly – going through some stuff I think he’d try to be a little more honest with Jason, like actually talk in complete sentences for one, but also actually make sure Jason at least heard him before he bolts out the building. He could've done more, this whole episode Dick is so worried about the past and its implications on him now that he completely ignores pretty obvious warning signs. There's I think 2 things he says that IF FOLLOWED UP BY ACTUAL SENTENCES could have actually meant something:

“Good thing Conner was there -> “Im sorry” SORRY FOR WHAT?????? BE CLEARER PLEASE !!!! Dick does feel responsible for Jason’s kidnapping AND the fall, he knows Conner being there was pure luck, he knows what would've happened if he wasn't – they both do – so apologize like you mean it, say where you failed and what you are sorry for, you can't just hope the other person is going to guess what you meant, SPECIALLY Jason, he doesn't feel cared for, he thinks you're apologizing just to say it, HELP HIM BELIEVE YOU

“All of this is my fault for going alone” -> “No. I don't think that” This ties into the other paragraph but FINISH YOUR SENTENCES !!! SAY WHAT YOU MEAN !!! You could just be saying that to make Jason feel better, thats what hes gonna think anyways, say the words, tell him “I'm sorry I wasn't there for you” “I'm sorry I let you go” “I'm sorry I let you go alone” HE KNOWS Jason is impulsive, he really thought if he let the teens unattended nothing would’ve happen? And YES Jason is grown enough to make his own decisions this isn't ONLY on Dick BUT he could have tried to be a better mentor to him before all this happened, he should tell Jason that

“Rest up” at the risk of sounding repetitive I'm just gonna say, Dick knows Jason is training like that to keep his mind of the bad thing that happened, he’s done it too – probably still does – tell him it that even tho it can help now it won't solve everything forever, connect with him, share your failures and bad experiences with him BEFORE he’s standing on a fucking ledge.

Hank Hall

I fell in love with Hank while writing his part, I'm so sorry

I think Hank would be the 2nd to talk to Jason. First I thought he’d go with Dawn or because she asked BUT !! ACTUALLY !! It makes more sense for it to come from him.

His whole job before coming back to the tower was helping at-risk youth was it not? I know it focused more on addiction but suicidal ideation – and life risking behavior in general – is very linked to people who suffer from any substance abuse, not to mention emotional distress/trauma can be the leading cause for developing it as a coping mechanism (look at me and my professional lingo)

He would recognize the signs, is what I'm saying here. Hank and Jason might not be super tight friends but he cares for the kid, that's clear. I can’t decide how he would approach Jason tho, it could go one of two ways: 1. he uses the training room as an excuse – either during sparring or some other training thing (?) like holding the punching bag for Jason or something, idk im not athletic – so it feels more like a conversation than an intervention AND it would be a good bonding moment for them, to show that even tho they find each other UNBEARABLE, they can still be there for one another OR 2. i did say two ways huh well the second way could be the next morning before everything blows up, he tries – although a little emotionally constipated, cause bro dudes – to have an honest conversation with Jason about the risks of isolating himself after a traumatic experience, THAT approach however – like being more direct – might “scare” Jason a little and make him lash out

Dawn Granger

At first, I had Dawn as the second person who’d talk to Jason, but now I think she’d be third. She's really good at reading people and social situations/cues, so obviously would notice Dick was acting very weird and probably didn’t talk to Jason as well as he could have BUT Hank did go to Jason first, so she’s gonna trust him to do the right thing and talk to the kid when she sees him in the morning – that is, if Hank goes right after dinner, when Jason is still training, which makes the most sense to me.

I think she’d probably talk to Hank first, to see how it went, so she has a better sense of what Jason needs to hear right now. Even if there wasn’t anything to add, she would still wait for him to show up in the common areas — I don’t think she’d go look for him, just wait until “he wants to be found” kinda deal — and the very least tell him she’s glad he’s safe, and offer him a space to talk about what happened. I don’t know how positive of an interaction this would be, but I think anyone — even Jason, in his current emotional state — would find it very hard to snap at Dawn, and IF he did she seems like the person to keep her cool and try and understand their side while still setting down boundaries (she’s so calm when speaking that you’d feel silly for raising your voice, you know?)

Kory Anders

“You're making me feel helpless and I hate feeling helpless” you cannot tell me this woman wouldn't even THINK to check on her number 1 problem child, like that's stupid. HOWEVER I can’t just ignore her reaction to Jason’s death “he made a mistake and didn't learn from it, now he's dead” which is,,, well accurate BUT the problem isn't that Jason “didn't learn his lesson” after Deathstroke, he did, just not the right one – he learned not to trust anyone but himself, people betray him, leave him for dead, accuse him without proof -> instead of learning to lean on and trust others.

So because of that I think she would talk to Jason at some point but not be very nice and sweet about it, she’d be very direct, to make sure this doesn't happen again. Like not mean either, don’t get me wrong, just direct. I think after all the weird inspirational speech vibes from Dick, Hank and Dawn, Jason would appreciate someone talking to him normally and not “babying him”. I'm assuming things don’t escalate so fast at breakfast, so Kory has time after that scene to talk to him

Like I think Kory would also wait until she sees him, instead of seeking him out, and I can definitely hear her saying something like what she said in season 3 -> “you made a mistake, now you have to learn from it, make sure you’re picking up the right lesson”. Probably the most efficient out of everyone, cause she is still holding Jason accountable for his own actions BUT she’s also letting him know he isn’t a lost cause, so even tho he might still say something annoying or even mean back, he WILL think about what she said for the rest of the day

Donna Troy

Donna follows the same like as Kory, very straightforward, although I do think she’d check up on Jason for a more “basic” line, like checking how he’s taking care of himself — if he’s eaten, drank water, also warning him about overworking himself — almost in a casual or even “acidic” way tho —> “there's leftovers in the fridge” instead of asking if he’s eaten, demanding to have the gym to herself when she notices him way too long in there, wordlessly pouring him a glass of water if she’s already getting herself some — she’s more actions than words, to me at least

Garfield Logan

OKAY SO— I realize now I should’ve probably put Gar before Dick for what I'm about to say but idk do that right now. Gar would be the first person to check on Jason after they get back AND it’d go so bad, he’s also the reason dude’s training himself half to death— I'LL EXPLAIN !!!

So Gar is an angel who cares too much for his friends, yes? Of course. AND because of that he feels INCREDIBLY responsible for what happened to Jason: he agreed to go with him check the thing out, didn’t call Dick or tell anyone else where they’d be, agreed to get separated AND didn’t fight harder to go with the older Titans — “maybe with his powers, they’d have a better chance”.

And, unlike Dick, Gar would make that abundantly clear to Jason. But it wouldn’t be well received because Jason isn’t taking Gar’s apology as “I’m sorry I didn’t do more to help you”, he’s hearing it as “sorry I didn’t save you from yourself” WHICH would make him really mad at Gar for “implying” that AND even more mad at himself for doing what he did —> arguing with Gar and then go to the training room to let off some steam from the terrible day/evening he just had

Rachel Roth

I don't know how to say this without making her seem like an asshole but I don't think she would actively check on Jason. There is already so much on her plate because of her powers, she’s still resenting him a bit for what he said, and the mirror thing happens so soon she doesn’t even HAVE time to go and talk to him. I can’t remember now when she argues with Gar but it’d definitely make her even more mad at the whole situation, even if she’s not completely aware she’s projecting that stuff onto her feeling about Jason.

Extra - Zephyr

I wasn't going to, but I love to talk about self inserts/OCs SO if my self insert Zephyr – hero name – was part of this shit show, this is the role I’d want her to play !! : D

Little context: she's my on going self insert for just about anything, literally just me but with powers – if the universe demands – and cooler hair – I missed the days of having fantasy colored hair. She always has some version of “air bending” as her power, cause I noticed that a lot of main casts don't have an air bender in their groups

I imagined her having a kinda bickering rivalry with Jason, nothing too serious but also not super buddy buddy, she doesn't go with him and Gar to check out the thing – she’s not aware they left, until Gar gets back – and when Dick leaves with the older Titans, she follows him after he told her to stay in the tower, cause her powers could be useful – and they are :3 – long story short, instead of Dick catching and then dropping Jason, she manages to stop/catch him with her powers, but before she can start either pulling him back up or lowering him to the ground, Slade sneaks up behind her and knocks her tf out and Jason free falls again. SO— because she got her shits absolutely rocked, she would ALSO be in the medical area, in a different room from Conner, I think either Kory and Dawn would switch places to watch them both OR they would stick to Conner and Rachel would be the one keeping an eye on Zephyr. Considering that the two people who did the most to help Jason got fucking wrecked because of it, I think it’s safe to say he’d feel too guilty to visit any of them.

If we go with Rachel on Z watch duty, I think she’d maybe try and use her powers to heal her, not completely tho cause she’s still unsure about them but enough for Z to be able to at least get up next morning, so after helping Kory out with Conner, Rachel would update Z on most of what happened last night: Conner saving Jason, Dick just leaving in the middle of the night, how Jason is doing, etc.

Now Jason doesn’t really goes to breakfast, and the whole thing with Rachel happens pretty early (everyone is still in the kitchen) SO I think the time Z actually goes downstairs (??? I have no clue what the fucking layout of this tower is like) is when all the yelling starts. Like I said in the beginning, the other guys aren’t gonna accuse Jason cause,,, it doesn’t make sense, so there’s not much to defend him from — maybe just help Rachel calm down “you said he was barely leaving his room for anything other than training, what would he do that,,, now specially?”

And only after everyone else starts sharing the weird things/messages they got she tries to talk to Jason, asking him if he’s okay, if he’s eaten, the basics — in their bickering way like “when’s the last time you drank some water ? your lips look chapped as hell” “why are you looking? 👀” — and then after diffusing some of the tenseness, getting a bit more serious with the questions and genuinely apologizing for dropping him (if he tries to change subject/dismiss her/even walk from her, she’s gonna play the “i'm pretty sure I’m concussed” card so he’ll at least stay put)

i have thought about this just a tad because i hc that bob and fanboy love comics, but i never thought specifically about a topgun!batfam, so here's the little bit i've got for you!

iceman

okay you can't convince me that ice doesn't remind you of either clark (yes he isn't in the batfam but im putting him there as an honorary member) or alfred and lemme explain why-

ice as clark: boyfriends with mav aka batsy, tries to keep his bf in check, fails most of the time, very by the book and follows the rules

ice as alfred: keeps mav/bats in check, looks out for his well-being, the actual one in charge of the family but lets mav/bats believe he is

2. mav

mav is bruce through and through to me. i think this because he basically adopts all the pilots as his own children and wants to keep them safe by teaching them how to protect themselves (like in the air w/ dogfighting) like how bruce does with his vigilante kiddos. also i imagine the tough love and strained relationships bruce has with some of his kids is just like mav and rooster- also not to mention the lasting trauma both bruce and mav have from their early years still haunts them both every day.

3. rooster

i was on the fence about who bradley would be, but i think he would be a great dick grayson and lemme explain why- dick is bruce's first kid that he's ever taken care of. of course with being the first, it's a different experience compared to those who come after you. there's pressure on both the parent (bruce/mav) and him to be the best and live up to expectations. besides this, he was the experimental kid and also holds a personal responsibility over the others (also fitting since bradley's callsign is rooster). dick is also consistently good natured and reliable in most iterations of him and i think this is fitting with bradley. he is kind natured and naive and sometimes doesn't think things through before he does something. there are times he can be scary when he's angry (def rooster vibes) and he's def the type to hold grudges, kinda like how rooster held one against mav for the papers incident.

4. hangman

i was also unsure about who jake would be, but i think i'm going to say he reminds me of jason. theres a lot of iterations of jay and how he behaves and how his relationship with the family is, so imma just keep this pretty general concerning his personality and also say hes on shaky ground with the others. as we all know, he is considered one of the black sheep in the family. after dying and coming back as red hood, things have been difficult to say the least. however, he still is just as strong, brave, selfless, impulsive, and smart-mouthed as he was before he died. i think these traits are fitting for jake. considering his callsign is hangman and the story we all know behind it, he also relates to how jay is a lone wolf more than half the time, but they both are becoming better at playing on a team.

5. phoenix

i think phoenix would be cass. needless to say, cass had a rough upbringing (we will not go into detail). i definitely think phoenix would have a hard upbringing as well as being the oldest sister of two younger brothers trying to help her mother after her father's tragic passing (this is my own hc btw). besides this, cass upholds bruce's moral code and is determined to prove herself to her newfound family and especially to bruce as she wants to take up the mantle later on. concerning phoenix, i think she also holds herself to a high standard especially with being a female pilot in the navy. she is also fiercely loyal and protective of her crewmates. i also think these two are just badass women.

6. bob

it took some deliberating for bob here, but i think he would be tim. tim is not only incredibly smart, he is a great detective and is also pretty gutsy as well. he is a passionate person and works extremely hard to prove his worth (he is a huge workaholic). with all these traits of his, i think bob would fit him really well. bob is definitely perceptive of others and in tune to how everyone is feeling (my hc and also just comes with the fact he is a "stealth pilot" lmao).

7. fanboy

i think mickey would be duke. duke is like the light of the family in my opinion. though i havent read much of his content, i do know that hes like an empath. when he works as a vigilante, he goes out there and uses his emotions to guide him unlike some of the other members. he is also lowkey self-sacrificial and willing to do anything to protect others and his family. i think fanboy behaves the same. he cares about his family and would do anything to protect them. he definitely brings smiles to the crew and keeps morale up in my opinion. in conclusion, fanboy is a blessing and so is duke.

8. payback

payback would be lucas. lucas is no doubt extremely intelligent like his father, strong, and he is also a great fighter considering he is a boxer, as well as being trained in mma and cage fighting. besides this, he is great at tactical analysis and engineering. i totally think payback fits the vibes luke exudes and he is also just as capable as him. both of them are like the rock in the team. they're there for anyone who needs them. (i also think they're both pretty mentally stable or as much as you can be as a crime fighter in gotham)

9. coyote

coyote reminds me of steph. steph is incredibly athletic and talented, but she also has trouble regulating her emotions. she sometimes lets her emotions get the better of her and she is also one for feeling an adrenaline rush. i feel like javy could definitely relate with her. however, despite her weaknesses, she is a great vigilante and very street-smart and pragmatic. when she does something, it has meaning behind it and i think javy does the same. when he flies, he's a team player and is strategic as to how he can lead his team to victory and get them home. both him and steph are also sarcastic and witty, often throwing out some quips at others who provoke them as well lmao.

My opinionated rant about what is and isn't considered proper canon for Nightwing/Dick Grayson.

Disclaimer:

When I am saying “Nightwing Proper/Centric/definitive canon,” I am referring to Nightwing content that features him in an irreplaceable role that synergize with his solo series.

Definitive Canon Content/Context refers to content that is canon to the current timeline of events. For example, Dick fighting Bruce, faking his death and becoming a spy for Bruce is canon to the Grayson series by Seeley/King.

So normally, I am pretty lax when it comes to the content (and context) we use to define Nightwing’s mythos. But lately, it’s becoming more and more common to see people using sources unrelated to Nightwing most of the time to try and use as a justification for what is and isn't canon to Nightwing mythos.

I’ve come to the decision that if it's not in Nightwing solo, a team book where Nightwing is a main character, a crossover with Nightwing solo or not even mentioned in Nightwing solo, then it's neither definitive of nor is it necessary for Nightwing mythos.

I just feel like I have to draw a line somewhere when it comes to what is used as canon examples. Sure, Fear State happened, but it's not mentioned or used at all in the current run. So why even bother to count anything from that story as a definitive canon to Nightwing mythos? The same thing with the whole Dick and Babs getting married in Death Metal or talking about it in the Batgirl #25 issue. Just stop it. Those books were never canon to Nightwing as they don't even mesh with what was going on in Nightwing proper. If we count that as canon, then might as well call Dick a cheater since in Suicide Squad. Dick was apparently getting it on with Shawn up until he got shot, and she thought he ghosted her. And during Death Metal, Dick was still in his Bea phase and Babs technically was still with Bard in her solo (im not sure if they broke up by the time Death Metal happened, im pretty sure it's one of those things where you just gotta go with it I guess). Yes, im aware Death Metal was icky already concerning dc canon as a whole, which is another reason why I don't know why anyone would consider it definitive of Nightwing. I'm not saying we can't use these stories when we talk about Nightwing and the things he has done. I'm also not saying you can never use them for your own interpretation of Nightwing. What I am saying is that trying to force a narrative about Nightwing using examples of Nightwing from stories that are not Nightwing proper, it just muddles things and makes everyone confused. The only content that is definitive for Nightwing mythos and should be respected by writers who work on Nightwing proper is content that appears in Nightwing solo, Nightwing crossovers (where the crossover happens in both books or atleast mentioned in both books), and Nightwing team books (like Titans or Batman and Robin), like I've mentioned before.

The way id personally break it down to decide if it's actually definitive canon to Nightwing mythos is by asking these questions: Did it happen in Nightwing? Was it mentioned in Nightwing? Was it Nightwing’s main content at the time? Did Nightwing even appear in the content? Was it an elseworld?

For annuals that happen during the solo run, it is very tricky (especially if they are written by other people). Annuals are technically supposed to be somewhat cannon to the run, but we all know that there are certain annuals that clearly shouldn't be considered canon at all. I always try to stay on the side that if the events of the annual are mentioned in the solo and don't contradict previous definitive canon, then yes consider it definitive canon. But if the story is in direct opposition of definitive canon and/or isn't mentioned in the solo series, then I think it's ok to not consider it canon for Nightwing mythos.

Not everything needs to be or was intended to be definitive canon for a character.

For those who don't wanna read all of this but want to know what it's about. Here is a simplified version: Don't use Non-Nightwing centric content to define Nightwing mythos.
