I ship Zutara and I don't believe Aang is the Antichrist, despicable, misogynistic, depraved, or an abuser, as many paint him to be.
Let's dive deeper into the vast ocean of analysis regarding Zutara shipping and the complexities of the Avatar characters!
Exploring the Reasons Behind My Preference for Zutara and Zuko as the Best Option for Katara:
If you ask me why I choose Zutara and Zuko for Katara, it's a tale of dense and multifaceted layers. While I respect the idea that Katara could have progressed as a character while single, the reality is, if I must choose a partner for her, my heart leans toward Zuko.
From a young age, Katara is forced to assume adult and maternal roles due to circumstances. At 14, 15, and 16, she becomes the mother figure of the group, a dynamic that exposes her to something called parentification. This phenomenon, where a child assumes adult and motherly roles, deeply concerns me, especially when imposed on racialized girls (but that's a topic for another post). However, she's not alone in this journey. Sokka also carries this burden, assuming the role of tribe leader, protector of his sister, and head of the tribe in a world torn by war.
However, while Katara is drawn into the premature motherhood of the group, Zuko emerges as a figure of redemption. Although initially presented as an antagonist, his evolution throughout the series reveals layers of complexity and redemption. The friendship and relationship he develops with Katara represent an opportunity for both to escape predefined roles and find equality in their companionship.
Aang's Pedestal and Katara's Complexity: A Profound Reflection
Katara, like any human being, is not perfect. She has a series of flaws and weaknesses that are part of her nature. However, Aang seemed to ignore these imperfections, focusing on an idealized vision of her. What happens when Katara doesn't fit this pedestal? Aang tries to mold her according to his own beliefs and perspectives.
Take, for example, the advice about forgiveness that Aang offered Katara, specifically regarding Yon Rha. It's commendable that Aang advocates for forgiveness, but when Katara expressed her decision not to forgive, Aang didn't simply accept that choice. Instead of respecting her unique perspective on forgiveness, Aang insisted on changing her viewpoint.
This behavior is also evident in moments like the non-consensual kiss in the play episode or the lack of space for Katara to express her own feelings in "The Day of Black Sun." These are uncomfortable situations that should not be overlooked and shed light on the complexity of the relationship between Aang and Katara.
Katara: More than "The Avatar's Girl"
Another aspect I want to address is the concept of "The Avatar's Girl." I detest how this term has influenced perceptions of Katara. Despite being a formidable waterbending master and a powerful warrior, she is reduced to this stereotype that does not do justice to her true identity.
It is crucial to remember that this is the result of decisions made by writers and does not reflect the richness and depth of Katara's personality. She should not be defined by her relationship with Aang or her role as "The Avatar's Girl." She is more than that, with unique abilities and complexity beyond simple labels.
Conclusion: Exploring the Complexity of Relationships in Avatar
In conclusion, the relationship between Aang and Katara is multifaceted. Recognizing the imperfections and complexities is essential to appreciate the depth of these characters. Aang, although inherently good, also shows problematic aspects that deserve discussion.
The concept of "The Avatar's Girl" underscores the importance of challenging stereotypes and allowing characters like Katara to develop more fully and authentically.
Now, let's delve into the second topic:
Do I really believe that Aang is the most despicable being, worthy of hatred and condemnation? A misogynist, abuser, harasser, who deserves eternal punishment just because he obstructs my favorite ship and is the antichrist?
The answer is a resounding NO!
Look Aang in the eye and tell me he is pure evil, DARE YOU!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout the story, Aang emerges as a pure being, whose character development evolves as he trains to become a great Avatar. Despite facing the darkness of the world, his losses, and the wounds he suffers, Aang continues to maintain unwavering faith that everything will be okay and that the world can be a better place. His beautiful and innocent glow, that childlike animation, sets him apart in a context where young characters are growing up amid war.
I observe the young characters in the show, like Sokka, Katara, Suki, Toph, Azula, among others; they are all children of war, forged by the conflict surrounding them. The emotions, decisions, and thoughts of these characters are inevitably influenced by war. Sokka is shaped by the war-torn context in which he grew up, just like Katara, Toph, Zuko, and Azula. The war determines their identities, regardless of which side they are on.
However, Aang is an exception to this rule. His first 12 years pass in peace, living without the shadow of a war that could affect his life, his personality, his beliefs, his innocence, and his morals. If Aang had been born amid war, his being would probably have evolved differently, perhaps leading him to more extreme actions like killing Ozai. But no, Aang refuses to kill Ozai because it goes against his moral principles.
It is true that Aang has his moments of tantrum and questionable behaviors, which are completely understandable given that he is a 12-year-old child. Unlike other characters like Sokka, Toph, Katara, and Zuko, Aang's destiny is practically set in stone. He is supposed to stop the war, defeat the Fire Nation, or perish in the attempt, having to wait for the next Avatar cycle. This weight on his shoulders is overwhelming for a child.
Aang also experiences moments of "micro-machismo," something we all possess to some extent, even the most deconstructed feminists. This is due to his upbringing in a society that, due to the era and other factors, influenced his perspective. But we see how Aang grows, progresses as a character and person. Although it is not right for Aang to get angry when Katara does not understand his feelings or to kiss her without her consent, I do not consider him an abuser, as some Zutara fans suggest.
I believe that if they had allowed both Aang and Katara to truly grow, giving them real time to develop as independent and adult individuals, I would have liked them much more.
So, let's clarify, I don't dislike them; I don't ship them, but I don't dislike them either. If you like them, that's fine. I firmly believe that everyone is free to ship what they want, without the need to discredit or diminish the ship they don't support. And this goes for fans of Kataang, Zutara,
Zukka, or any other ship from different books, movies, or TV shows. Freedom and respect for all shippers!
I edit and add:
They won't convince me easily. Korra is not canon. Aang would never be a bad father, and Katara wouldn't allow it either. Katara tears off his testicles and makes him swallow them before allowing Aang to be a bad father to all of his children. I understand that Aang has a special relationship with Tenzin, since he inherited his mastery of air, but don't try to fool me. Aang is an amazing father, and nothing will change my opinion on that, not even Korra.
Add something else that I forgot:
If Zuko and Katara were to have a romantic relationship, of course it would hurt Aang, because he is in love with Katara, but he would never ever get angry with either of them, because both Katara and Zuko are his family. and Aang loves his family. Stop calling the baby evil

Why Mikasa Ackerman is a Great Character
Tumblr media
Mikasa Ackerman is a character that gets a lot of hate. But is any of it actually deserved?
Well… no.
No, it’s not.
Tumblr media
And I’m going to explain why all of these videos are wrong. And don’t worry, there are no spoilers in this essay.
(Note: There is a very mild spoiler for the final chapters in the last image. So if you don't want to be spoiled... uhm... don't look at it?)
Dissecting the Dissent
Mikasa is a crucial yet misunderstood cog in the Attack on Titan universe. People complain that she’s overdependent, blindly infatuated, perpetually donning a tattered scarf, and one-dimensional. But is any of this actually true?
Again… no.
First things first. Why do people think Mikasa is a bad character?
Number one, her over-reliance on Eren: everything she does is in service to Eren, in other words, she’s a simp.
Number two, a lack of character development: she doesn’t change through the series. Her views and values stay the same, making her static, rather than dynamic.
Number three, she’s a plot device: her strength is used to move Eren’s story along, rather than her own.
Number four, she lacks complexity: her ideologies don’t evolve and are centred around… you guessed it, Eren, and she doesn’t have the depth that Eren, Reiner, or Levi do.
Echoes from the Past
Let’s rewind back to Episode 6 – "The World the Girl Saw".
Tumblr media
Here, we first catch a glimpse of Mikasa's past. She's an only child, raised in a loving household until the cruelty of their world brutally tears it away.
Tragic irony tinges every anime tale – happiness is fleeting. In Mikasa's case, it was cruelly snatched away, leaving her at the mercy of black-market bandits. But, fate intervened in the form of young Eren Yeager, igniting Mikasa’s fighting spirit and triggering the emergence of her formidable Ackerman abilities.
Tumblr media
A Bond Born from Trauma
Now, let's dive into the heart of her relationship with Eren. We see her protectiveness, her blind loyalty, and her undying love. But how far will she go for him? Let's hold that thought for now.
Mikasa’s affection for Eren is no secret.
Yes, Mikasa is attached to Eren, but this attachment stems from a deeply traumatic childhood event where Eren saved her life and gave her a reason to live.
This relationship is integral to Mikasa's character, but it's not her entire character. Her sense of justice, her ability to make hard choices, and her care for others outside of Eren (like Armin and Historia) showcase a character that has more facets than just her relationship with Eren.
She is not a "simp"; she is a survivor who found a purpose and fought for it.
Love and Morality
Fast forward to Season Four, where Eren reveals a different, darker side, and Mikasa faces her greatest challenge yet. Eren, the person she devoted her life to protecting, declares his hatred for her.
Tumblr media
Is it truth or deception? Well, it doesn't really matter. Because, the blow is dealt, and Mikasa’s world is shattered.
Tumblr media
As Eren marches towards devastation, Mikasa grapples with her inner turmoil. Her love for Eren is pitted against her moral compass, forcing her to make a heartrending decision. Should she protect Eren, the architect of a forthcoming massacre, or defy him in the name of humanity?
A Symbol of Resilience
While it may appear that Mikasa does not undergo a significant transformation, she does change throughout the series. Her struggle with her feelings for Eren, particularly in the final arc, and her decision to stand against him illustrates her growth.
Her constant struggle to protect those she loves while grappling with the brutal reality of their world is a significant and subtle form of character development.
Tumblr media
In this defining moment, Mikasa steps forward, propelled by her principles rather than her love for Eren. She becomes a symbol of humanity's strength and resilience.
People hate Mikasa's character because she has no depth in her ideological or philosophical beliefs. But that was never the point. Her depth is in her emotional journey. Her struggle between loyalty, love, and duty, her grappling with the harshness of their world, and her longing for a semblance of peace make her a complex and layered character.
She may not have grand speeches or explicit ideological conflicts like Eren or Levi, but her internal struggles and choices add depth to her character.
In a show that heavily focuses on ideological conflicts and grand narratives, Mikasa's simplicity and her struggle with personal, intimate issues offer a refreshing perspective and adds to the overall complexity of Attack on Titan.
Tumblr media
So, what have we learned from Mikasa's journey?
The woman many dismissed as one-dimensional is, in reality, a character of depth, complexity, and heart.
If Armin personifies courage and is the embodiment of the human spirit, then Mikasa personifies loyalty, love, and most importantly, the strength to stand against the person she loves most for the sake of humanity.
And that’s why Mikasa Ackerman, is in fact, an amazing character.

Breaking Down the Bold Finale: Why Promising Young Woman Nailed It
Hey, fellow film lovers! Promising Young Woman (2020) is one of my all-time favourite movies and for good reason. It discusses important topics about society and femininity.
Let’s dive into the jaw-dropping finale of Promising Young Woman. Buckle up for a chat about film theory and why that ending is a knockout.
Feminist Film Theory: Power to Cassie
In the realm of feminist film theory, Cassie is our unapologetic protagonist. She emerges as an avenging hero, shattering the conventional narrative. The ending? It had to be bold, reflecting Cassie’s relentless pursuit of justice.
Cassie, portrayed with depth by Carey Mulligan, challenges the typical female character arc. The tension and power dynamics unfold in scenes where she confronts her targets.
The ending becomes a powerful statement. It breaks away from traditional gender norms. The ending also offers a fresh perspective on justice in the face of sexual assault.
Genre Deconstruction: Twisty Turmoil
Now, let’s talk about genre deconstruction. Promising Young Woman begins as a dark comedy. Before long, it morphs into a thrilling tragedy. Why? To keep us on our toes. The ending is unconventional because life itself is messy, and so is this story.
The film’s ability to blend dark comedy with thriller and tragedy is intentional. Shaking up genre expectations makes us question our assumptions about justice and morality. The ending isn’t neatly packaged, but a deliberate departure from the expected.
Visual Language: Colors Speak Louder
Have you noticed those dreamy pastel colours during Cassie’s confrontations? These pallets act as eye candy AND visual storytelling. The ending needed to be a spectacle.
The filmmakers used colours to challenge societal perceptions and scream empowerment. Pastel colours in confrontation scenes add layers of irony. The pallet challenges traditional notions of femininity.
This visual language enhances our understanding of the film’s themes. It adds depth to the ending, making it an interplay of satisfaction AND discomfort.
Dialogue as Subtext: The Unsaid Speaks Volumes
Cassie’s exchanges, especially with characters like Ryan, are dripping with subtext. The coffee shop confrontation? It’s a dialogue masterpiece, wrapping up Cassie’s journey with emotional weight.
Film theory teaches us that dialogue isn’t just about words. It’s also a hidden treasure trove of meaning. We can especially focus on lines leading to the film’s climax.
Let’s talk about THAT line in one of the ending scenes, where Cassie shows up as Candy.
Al Monroe: It’s every man’s worst nightmare, getting accused of something like that.
Cassie: Can you guess what every woman’s worst nightmare is?
Now that’s a kicker.
Al Monroe, played by Chris Lowell, reveals a common sentiment among men. He expresses fear at the thought of a woman accusing him of a heinous act.
Cassie’s retort brings the film’s feminist themes to the forefront. It challenges Al and, by extension, the audience.
Men may fear false accusations, but women live with the constant threat of sexual assault. They face the fear of no one believing them or taking them seriously.
Cassie’s response is a stark reminder of the gendered nature of societal fears. Her line put a spotlight on the systemic issues surrounding sexual assault. These types of lines prompt viewers to confront the disparity in societal expectations.
Cassie’s question is a rhetorical challenge, urging the audience to reconsider their ideas. The line encourages the viewers to empathise with the lived experiences of women. This dialogue lingers, forcing viewers to confront uncomfortable truths about sexual assault.
Catharsis and Disquiet: Emotional Rollercoaster
As we approach the finale, that mix of satisfaction and disquiet isn’t accidental. Film theory says it’s purposeful. The ending brings catharsis, a release, but it also nudges us to question more. It’s a rollercoaster designed to make us think.
The emotional impact of the ending is intentional. It prompts us to reflect on our own expectations and biases. The ending pushes us to confront uncomfortable truths about justice and societal expectations.
The film doesn’t spoon-feed us a tidy resolution. Instead, it leaves us with a cocktail of emotions. It sparks conversations long after the credits roll.
A Cinematic Rebellion
In a nutshell, Promising Young Woman chose its ending for a reason. Feminist film theory empowered Cassie. Genre deconstruction kept us guessing. The visual language uses colours to challenge norms. Dialogue spoke volumes.
The ending delivered catharsis and disquiet, leaving us with thoughts to ponder. This film isn’t just a movie. Promising Young Woman is a conversation starter. This film challenges norms and sparks discussions about justice and revenge for women.
That’s why the ending had to be a spectacle. Promising Young Woman shows a cinematic rebellion against the norm. Through feminist film theory, genre deconstruction, visual language, and dialogue analysis, the film crafts an ending as bold as its protagonist.

Shipwrecked Hearts (pt. 2/3)
A re-telling of the events of Shipwreck Confidential if Pathea weren’t COWARDS and let us romance Zeke.
Part 1, Part 3
Zeke was getting antsy. It had been a while since the three women had gone into the wrecked ship. Based on the movement of the sun, at least two hours had passed. As far as he knew, it shouldn't take that long to investigate a ruin, not unless there were lots of Old World tech or monsters to contend with. As much as he wanted to climb up and go after them, his back was still twinged just enough that he'd need a ladder or something of the sort to get up to the entrance. He was beginning to regret not taking the two trips. At least then he could have gone with them instead of being stuck outside waiting.
Even though Selene had proven herself more than capable with the Geeglers on multiple occasions, he still worried about her. As far as Zeke knew, the young builder had no combat experience prior to coming Sandrock. He still remembered the first time he saw her; nearly surrounded by Geeglers in the Moisture Farm, somewhat worse for wear, but eyes still sparking with fight and fire. She had planted herself between them and the heart of the farm, and wasn't giving an inch. He'd been impressed with the determination, but also concerned. It was clear the woman didn't have any training with the daggers she wielded. The grip was wrong, and her stance was off. Still, she'd fought fiercely and held her own.
To his knowledge, Justice hadn't given either of the builders any combat training since then either. Despite that, Selene had still gone into the Paradise Lost ruin on her own. Zeke needed to have a conversation with the Civil Corp when they got back about what was considered qualified to dive in dangerous ruins. Maybe even insist on Justice taking training Selene and Mi-an seriously. Especially if they were going to continue going into places unknown, like the shipwreck he was currently stuck standing around. The waiting was really starting to get to him. Not able to sit still anymore, Zeke started to pace.
It had been ages since Zeke was in the Eufala, so he figured he might as well make good use of the time out here. To try and distract himself, he started collecting samples of things he knew would be helpful back at the Moisture Farm, and some of the rare plants Fang used in his medicines. What felt like an eternity later, he heard clanging from the back of the shipwreck. Zeke warily pulled out the daggers Selene had given him, then went over to investigate. Rounding the corner to the back of the wreck, Zeke saw a person shaped figure crawl out, but didn't recognize it as any of the three women. Hands tightening on the weapons, Zeke cautiously walked towards them. Another figure emerged. Closer, he recognized the protective suits he'd seen Mi-an and Selene bring with them. A little of the tension bled out of his shoulders.
The first figure removed their helmet to reveal Trudy's brown bun. After her, the second figure took off their helmet. Mi-an's black hair spilled out. What little tension had bled out crept back in. Each second without Selene making an appearance stretched into eternity. Finally, even though it could only have been a few seconds, a third figure came out. Only when they removed their helmet and Zeke saw Selene's familiar face did he truly relax. All three women were a bit dirty and worse for wear, but ultimately unharmed. It wasn't until he saw them all safe that Zeke realized how worried he'd been. Mi-an and Selene traipsed over and showed him what they'd found in the wreck. He said,
"You went through a lot of trouble to get these materials. I appreciate your hard work." That wasn't the half of it, but Zeke had never been much good with words. He did appreciate their hard work, but what he said didn't seem adequate. Well, he didn't have anything else to say that would sound any better, so he continued, "Hmm, they do look interesting. I'll take 'em back to the farm and tinker around. You guys did good. I'll let you know if I get any results."
Trudy clasped her hands together with a broad smile, "Well done, builders! I think...we can declare this mission a success!"
Mi-an cheered, while Selene merely grinned. That was something Zeke had noticed about the two builders. In many ways, they were incredibly similar. Both were accomplished builders, with a zest and drive to help improve Sandrock. They wanted to do everything they could for the small community, always with smiles on their faces and positive attitudes. However, Mi-an was much more outgoing and bubbly, whereas Selene had a more calm, settled air around her.
If Zeke had to guess, it was due to maturity and experience. From what he'd overheard when the builders were fixing up the Moisture Farm, Selene had a good decade or so on Mi-an's twenty five years. It made sense that she'd outgrown a bit of the slightly more manic energy of youth. He was pulled from his musing by the disgruntled low of one of Cooper's yakmel they'd borrowed to haul back any supplies. Selene tsked at it,
"Oh hush. I know you're used to hauling stuff like this, quit being so stubborn."
The yakmel gave another moo in protest. Selene merely responded with an unimpressed stare. Eventually, the yakmel seemed to give in with a grunt and a gentle headbutt. She rewarded the creature with a scratch on the forehead,
"Atta girl, knew you'd come around."
In short order, everything they'd dragged out was secured to the yakmel's harnesses, and they headed back to town.
Part 1, Part 3

Short review since I don't feel like writing out a long post but want to get thoughts out... The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan. Good! I found this recommendation via reddit of all places, and this one was a winner.
An itinerant magistrate goes about his normal business, until the usual intrigue builds to catastrophic proportions. Narrated in autobiographical style by his young clerk, and with her, somehow the author manages to thread the needle of writing a believable teenager but also a likeable character. The German / Central European setting was a fun variation on the typical fantasy theme, and you can tell the author is a lawyer.
The high fantasy elements were kept out of sight for much of the novel, but when they did emerge, it was in a satisfyingly visceral and eerie way. It's definitely more of a grounded setting, though.
While the author has a few things to say about the nature of law and society (or at least, the characters do) its not really an 'issues' novel. I'm curious to see if the sequels dive more into themes or if Swan is primarily concerned with telling a good story.

👨🏾‍🎨 PRO EXPERIENCES -
• YJST: PHANTOMS - ROBOTMAN -
WB Animation Character Design, YOUNG JUSTICE: PHANTOMS, Robotman.
Media: Digital.
In the Season 4 episode entitled, "Emergency Dive," the Doom Patrol's Robotman makes his second appearance in the series. Previously, the character showed up in the Season 3 episode, "Night Monkeys," as part of a video game delusion for Garfield Logan. That version was more stylistically cartoony, and so I was called upon to redesign Robotman in the more realistic style of YJ, originally established by Phil Bourassa. I was also obliged to reference the DC Doom Patrol comics, as well as the live-action television series adaptation.

Footsteps of Freedom: What to Expect on a Robben Island Museum Tour
Nestled in the shimmering waters off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa, lies an island with a storied past, echoing the whispers of history and the resilience of the human spirit. Robben Island, once a place of isolation and oppression, has transformed into a symbol of freedom and hope. Today, as visitors step onto its shores, they embark on a journey through time, retracing the footsteps of those who fought tirelessly for justice and equality. Join us as we explore what to expect on a Robben Island Museum Tour, a pilgrimage through the annals of human triumph and perseverance.
A Brief History Lesson
Before diving into what awaits you on your tour, it's essential to understand the historical significance of Robben Island. Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the island later became a place of exile and imprisonment under colonial rule. However, it gained international notoriety during the apartheid era in South Africa.
Robben Island served as a brutal political prison, where many anti-apartheid activists, including a young Nelson Mandela, were incarcerated for their resistance to the oppressive regime. Despite the harsh conditions, the prisoners remained steadfast in their fight for freedom, and their legacy continues to inspire generations worldwide.
Setting Foot on Hallowed Ground
As your ferry approaches Robben Island, anticipation mounts. The sight of the imposing limestone cliffs and the iconic lighthouse evokes a mixture of emotions—awe, reverence, and perhaps a tinge of sorrow for the suffering endured within these walls.
Must Book Ferry Tickets to Robben Island. Upon disembarking, visitors are greeted by knowledgeable guides who lead them on a captivating journey. The tour begins with a bus ride around the island, offering panoramic views and insights into its natural beauty and historical landmarks. Keep your camera ready; you won't want to miss capturing these poignant moments.
The Prison Experience
The heart of the Robben Island Museum Tour lies in the prison complex itself. Stepping into the maximum-security section, you can almost feel the weight of history bearing down upon you. The stark, Spartan cells stand as silent witnesses to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Guides, many of whom are former political prisoners, offer firsthand accounts of life behind bars. Their stories paint a vivid picture of the hardships endured by those who dared to challenge the status quo. From gruelling forced labour to acts of defiance and solidarity, every corner of the prison echoes with tales of courage and sacrifice.
One of the tour's highlights is a visit to Nelson Mandela's cell, preserved exactly as it was during his imprisonment. Standing in the cramped space where he spent 18 years of his life, you can't help but feel a profound sense of humility and admiration for the man who emerged from these walls to lead a nation towards reconciliation and unity.
Lessons in Resilience and Reconciliation
Beyond its historical significance, a tour of Robben Island offers valuable lessons in resilience and reconciliation. As you listen to the stories of former prisoners and interact with guides who have experienced firsthand the horrors of apartheid, you gain a deeper understanding of the human capacity for forgiveness and healing.
The tour concludes with a visit to the museum, where exhibits showcase the struggles and triumphs of South Africa's journey to democracy. Photographs, artefacts, and multimedia presentations provide additional context, allowing visitors to reflect on the past and contemplate the path forward.
A Call to Action
As you board the ferry back to the mainland, the lessons of Robben Island linger in your mind. You may find yourself inspired to become an agent of change in your community, standing up against injustice and oppression wherever it may arise. Remember, the fight for freedom is not confined to the pages of history but continues in the ongoing struggle for equality and human rights around the world.
Robben Island Museum Tour is more than just a sightseeing excursion; it's a profound and transformative experience that leaves an indelible mark on all who embark upon it. So, if you find yourself in Cape Town, don't miss the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of giants and pay homage to those who sacrificed so much for the cause of freedom.

Why Hawaii is the Ultimate Spring Break Haven for Adults
INTO YOUR ELEMENT
FOUR REASONS WHY HAWAII IS THE PERFECT ADULT SPRING BREAK DESTINATION
If spring is nature's celebration of life, then Hawaii is earth's greatest luau. There are few places on this planet that the four elements — air, fire, water, and earth — are on such spectacular display. Spring is our annual reminder that the natural world always finds the perfect balance, and after the last year, you're likely feeling ready to get back into your element. My recommendation? A well-deserved Hawaiian spring break to make your aloha spirit soar. Travel is for the young at heart, and below are four elemental reasons why you should consider a grown-up spring break escape to Hawaii. This adventure is easier than you may think: simply get in touch with me and get pre-tested before you fly (a requirement of all travelers to Hawaii). You deserve unparalleled travel experiences, and I look forward to helping you travel safely and exceptionally to your island of choice when you're ready.
THE ELEMENT OF AIR
CHARTER A HELICOPTER TO EXPERIENCE KAUAI FROM SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS
Hawaii exists for endless exploration, and when you climb aboard a chartered helicopter, your access is granted to go just about anywhere you desire. With spectacular coastlines and amazing green, black, and white sand beaches, stunning valleys, dramatic volcanoes, and so much more — you certainly have options. You won't be disappointed seeing any island from a bird's eye view, but Kauai by helicopter is not to be missed. Your jaw will drop at your first sight of the Garden Isle's Nā Pali Coast and the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" at Waimea. Consider indulging in an exclusive remote landing to treat yourself to a gourmet picnic overlooking lush, tropical valleys and waterfalls. Where to stay on Kauai:  Treat yourself to a 5-star bungalow, cottage or villa at The Lodge at Kukui’ula. Kauai's quarantine requirement is anticipated to lift by early April, meaning now is the perfect time to get in touch to plan your upcoming island adventure.
THE ELEMENT OF FIRE
DISCOVER HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK ON THE BIG ISLAND
It's remarkable how climatically diverse The Big Island is — from snow-capped peaks to lush rainforests and staggering sea cliffs — and then there's Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano. This is an island you have to see to believe.  Hawaii has literally emerged from the ocean, and we have millions of years of volcanic activity to thank for its creation. A visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is practically a mandatory experience -— and with the current ongoing eruption of Kīlauea Volcano creating a growing lava lake, now is an exhilarating time to visit! One way to get up close (but not too close!) is on a guided hike. You can also experience a private boat tour where you'll marvel as molten lava cascades into the ocean like a fiery waterfall. Where to stay on the Big Island:  Experience aloha at the newly opened Mauna Lani, an Auberge Resort. (Bonus: it's Sharecare VERIFIED™). Receive privileged access to complimentary upgrades, early check-in/late check-out, daily breakfast for two, $100 spa credit, wifi, and more.
THE ELEMENT OF WATER
GO WITH THE EBB & FLOW ON MAUI
Like the tide gently enticing the waves back into the ocean, you won't be able to resist the draw of Maui. With its cobalt blue waters and breathtaking beaches, Maui is picture-perfect, yet photos never seem to do it enough justice.  Spend a leisurely day splitting your time between swimming in the resort's infinity pool and dipping into the warm ocean waters. Snorkel or scuba dive with sea turtles and spinner dolphins amongst gorgeous reefs in the crystal clear waters of nearby Molokini. Spy humpback whales breaching the surface during their annual migration (November - May), or take in the heavenly island views on a ferry trip to Lanai. Drive the winding and super scenic coastal Road to Hana. And don't mind the occasional rain showers — in Maui, it's safe to assume a vibrant rainbow will greet you around every breathtaking bend in the road. Where to stay on Maui:  Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is situated on Maui's premier southwestern coastline along Mokapu Beach. Private perks include complimentary upgrades, early check-in/late check-out, daily breakfast for two, $100 spa credit, wifi, and more.
THE ELEMENT OF EARTH
GET GROUNDED ON LANAI
Mother Nature puts on quite a show on the secluded Hawaiian island of Lanai. With 90,000 acres of pristine beauty to explore, consider horseback riding along peaceful trails, off-roading to remote beaches, and marveling at the island's otherworldly rock formations. A surprise to many, you're more likely to find pine forests in Lanai than white sand beaches dotted with palm trees. Drier than its neighboring islands, Lanai's landscapes are strikingly beautiful and rooted in mystery. Where to stay on Lanai: Indulge at Sensei Lanai, a Four Seasons Resort. This luxurious wellness enclave is set amongst lush gardens and impeccable sculptural art. The opportunities for reconnection are endless, and you'll be pampered with private perks including complimentary round-trip airfare from Honolulu on Lanai Air, upgrades, early check-in/late check-out, daily breakfast for two, $100 spa credit, wifi, and more.

The team's commitment to community service, social justice, and the development of youth sports programs underscores their belief in the power of sport to effect positive change. In the words of Bill Russell, "The most important measure of how good a game I played was how much better I’d made my teammates play." This ethos, deeply ingrained in the Celtics' culture, is a testament to their enduring impact on the world of basketball. Analyzing the Boston Celtics' Current Season Performance As we continue our deep dive into the world of the Boston Celtics, it's time to turn our attention to the team's performance in the current season. Specific details would depend on the particular game in question. What does the Boston Celtics name mean? The name "Boston Celtics" pays homage to the rich Irish heritage in Boston. The term "Celtic" refers to a group of ethnicities, languages, and cultures native to Ireland and other parts of Europe. Why is it Celtics and not Celtics? The pronunciation "Celtics" with a hard 'C' is a nod to the American pronunciation of the word. While in Europe it's often pronounced with a soft 'C', the American sports franchise opted for the hard 'C' pronunciation. Does anyone on the current Celtics roster have a ring? The answer to this question would depend on the current roster and their past achievements.   PROLOGUE
Mud is caked on my hands, clogged beneath my nails and crusted around the cuticles. My fingers have turned a muckybrown colour. The further I dig, the wetter I get, the darker my hands turn. Bogs are waterlogged, nutrient-rich patches of land used as a source of fuel, an ecosystem for wildlife and plant life. An ideal site to bury a body on this cold, silent night. Down my hands dig, the trowel discarded. This is the perfect burial place. I hope the body I plant will take hundreds of years to be discovered. I toyed with the idea of cutting it up to make it easier to transport, but I didn’t relish the thought of cleaning up all that blood. Instead, I tied it to a briquette trolley, leaned a plank of timber against the back of the jeep, wheeled the trolley up with its cargo and tipped it in. I couldn’t get the jeep any closer to where I wanted to dig the earth for the burial, so it will be another trek back to the narrow lane to where it’s parked. Then I’ll have to drag it over the soft peat. All this is something I have to do myself. My work. My crime. My responsibility. Disposal is a means to an end. To be rid of the body. To forget all about the misery. To move on while it dissolves in its watery grave. I am doing what needs to be done. Ridding the world of an evil person. I know all about evil. I’ve lived with it. It took root in my soul. I fought it. Oh, did I fight it, until I could no longer stand to be in the same room. I had to rid the world of this evil person who hurt good people, making me complicit in the crimes. I get on with my work, conscious that daylight is only a few hours away. I hurry, removing the remaining watery earth. I am possessed with a need. A need to do right after all this time. A need to do it the only way I can, by killing another human being. And let’s not forget, I argue about using the word human in relation to this person I have murdered. I concentrate. I dig. I bury the body in the bog. At that moment, I feel free. I have no idea that it will be almost a year before someone else is murdered.

My Review: Another winner by this author, a twisty and fast paced plot full or surprises and secrets to discover. There’s a lot going on, a lot of suspects and possible motives. There’s a cast of realistic characters and Lottie who’s facing real world issues and giving her best in this investigation. I read it in one sitting and didn’t stop till I knew who-and-why. It’s an excellent thriller and I think it’s one of the best I read in this series: gripping, gritty and twisty. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
