WHAT IF...?

So, I was having a fairly good day when realization struck hard! Just realized the man Severus Snape grew to become was not because of his choices and but merely the circumstances and how 'bitterly unfair life was' to him.

What if...he did not have to grow up in poverty and in a broken family?

What if...his father was loving towards him?

What if...he wasn't sorted too quickly and was put in Gryffindor?

What if...he had more friends at Hogwarts?

What if...he was not bullied by the Marauders?

What if...he never called Lily a 'mudblood'?

What if...he never joined the death-eaters?

What if...him and Lily were always together?

What if...Voldemort chose Neville instead of Harry?

What if...he did not have to spy for Dumbledore?

What if...he never had to make the Unbreakable Vow to protect Draco?

What if...he never had to kill Dumbledore?

WHAT IF LIFE WAS JUST A LITTLE KINDER TO HIM!?

This honestly just makes me cry. Thinking about the person he could have become if he never had to face any of the above, it just so depressing.

Hi, could you please try to edit your posts with the creators name/ link if people have responded with it? I know you just want to share the beautiful work you’ve found but artists work very hard on their pieces and simple putting “credit to google/ creator” isn’t actually providing credit, and makes it easier for work to continue being stolen and shared. It hurts artists. This isn’t meant to be an attack, just to inform. ❤️

Hey! Sure, I would not mind doing that. But since I found these beautiful pieces up on Google, the link did not send me to the original creator, but to others who had re-blogged them or posted them on other platforms. I do not intend on stealing their work, instead i try to make it more of an appreciation for their talent and time. If I did know the artists name or username, I would not hesitate to tag them and would even send them a message recognizing and appreciating their talent. I do not mean to steal anyone’s work. RANDOM SNAPE IMAGINES: 1

WARNINGS: Death, abuse, implications of violence

You stood paralyzed and frozen staring at the lifeless body that lay at your feet. Your eyes wide with your arms around your torso in an effort to cover your exposed body. All that clothed you were shreds of your robes with large rips. You shook violently with fear as silent tears streamed down you face. 

Severus stood in horror and made his way to you. He had never seen you so engulfed in fear. It was evident in your widened eyes. A desperate need to protect you washed over him as he studied your small and bent frame. He examined the bruises and cuts that covered your face and arms. Taking notice of your tattered clothes, he moved closer to your quivering form and wrapped his warm cloak around your shoulders.    

“y/n”

He spoke your name softly. Suddenly noticing his presence, you whipped your head to look up at the tall figure next to you and clutched the fabric of his cloak bringing it closer to your chest. The fear in your eyes faded as a sense of relief crept in.  

“Severus”

You whispered and snuggled against him and away from the lifeless form on the floor. You wrapped your hands around his shoulders and clung to him as if your life depended on it. He brought his hands to you back and gently stroked your disheveled hair in an effort to calm you. You sobbed into his chest and stayed in that position for what seemed like hours. 

“Shh...It’s alright love.”

The potions master tried to soothe you, not being able to see you so broken in his arms. Holding you closer to his heart he closed his eyes and placed a light kiss on your head.  

“What have you done Severus?”

“He was hurting you y/n, I’d do anything to keep you safe.”

The only thing that mattered to the two of you now was that you were safe and both of you were in your favorite place, each others arms.      

This is exactly how I imagine the scene.

IMAGINE: SNAPE WATCHING HIS WIFE DIE...

Summary: Years after Lily’s death, Severus falls in love with you, a fellow professor at Hogwarts. You understand him and heal his broken heart. You know all about his spy role and accept him for who he is. After Minerva chases Severus away from Hogwarts he needs to see you once for the last time.

It had been months since the death of Dumbledore, and since your husband got the tags of a murderer and traitor. Death-eaters invaded and took over the entire school. The once bright halls and corridors, were now cold and dark. It broke your heart to see the staff and students shoot disgusted glares at your husband. But you had to remain silent and endure all the pain. 

You and Severus have been married 8 years and it had been some of the best years of your life. You taught astronomy at Hogwarts for the past 11 years and the place was what you called home. Severus told you all about his double agent role and the task he was entrusted with by Dumbledore himself. He had to kill Albus. Knowing well enough of the consequences, he had to agree to do finish the task. And now a traitor and coward was what everyone called him. But for you, he was always the bravest person you’d ever met. 

Today was the day Harry Potter returned to Hogwarts. Your husband had just fled the great hall after a short duel with Minerva, only defending her spells. The war had officially begun. You were confused and scared at the same time. The last time there was a war, thousand all across the country died. You had no idea weather or not you or Severus were going to survive this. 

Without knowing where to go, you run outside and help the others set up protection charms, when a familiar looking bird lands on your shoulder. It was Severus’s owl. It held a letter in it’s beak and flew away as soon as you grabbed the letter. With clammy hands, you rip it open and read it.

My love, 

The war has begun and the Dark Lord will surely demand my presence soon. I cannot assure you weather or not we will survive this, I trust you know that too. I will wait for you in Hogsmeade. Please be careful on your way. I love you.

The second you read the last word, you ran as fast as your legs could carry you heading to the village of Hogsmeade. Once you reached there, you looked around frantically for your husband. Hurriedly you searched all the streets. 

Suddenly, someone gripped your arm and dragged you into a narrow dark alley. Just as you were about to scream, your mouth was covered tightly by a cold hand. 

“It’s me dear.”

You stopped fighting the grip once you heard the soothing familiar voice. He let you go and you were staring at those familiar black pools of eyes. 

“Severus!”

You fell into his safe arms as you relished the feeling of being held by your husband.   

“It’s all right y/n. we’re safe for now.”

“I missed you.”

“I know, so did I.”

He gently stroked your hair as you closed you eyes and lost yourself in the warmth. 

“What do we do now?”

You asked taking a step back so you could look at him. 

“I need to go meet the dark lord. You need to go back to Hogwarts. Help them.”

You nodded and pressed your lips to his. He kissed you passionately and held you close. After an eternity, you broke apart.

“We need to go. I love you y/n. Always.”

“Always.”

With that you take a last look at the man you love and started walking back to Hogwarts.

Lost in your thoughts, you don’t notice the dark figure following you.  

“In a hurry you filthy mudblood?”

Said a high-pitched voice behind you. You look back and it’s the last person you wanted too see. 

“Bellatrix.”

You spat, hatred heavy in your voice. 

“What do you-”

Before you could finish, you were on the ground, squirming and whimpering, under the Cruciatus curse. Without being able to take it anymore you screamed until your throat was raw. Tears flowed down your face as the pain worsened. With a tap of the wand, the pain increased ten-fold as you screamed bloody hell. 

Severus, who was making his way to the Shrieking Shack, was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard your voice screaming. His eyes widened as he raced towards the directed from where your voice echoed.  

Once the curse stopped, the maniac witch climbed over you and pulled out her dagger. She traced your face with the tip.

“I’ve heard things about you. They say you’re beautiful. But i think not.”

She bent down to your ear and whispered. 

“Not after this.”

With that she dug the dagger on your skin above your eye brow. Dragging it down toward you cheeks. The pain was unbearable as you felt your flesh ripping. Bloody screams were torn from your throat. Your cries broke Severus’s heart as he hurried trying to locate you. 

Bellatrix’s mad cackles ceased suddenly as she looked at your now scarred face and grinned. 

“That was fun!”

You tried pushing her off but you were too weak. She raised her wand and with a wide grin, sliced your throat. This happened just as Severus found you. He saw the crazy witch slice the throat of his wife. Sprinting towards you, he shot a killing curse at Bellatrix. 

He kneeled next to you. And stared at your vandalized face in horror. He tried several healing spells on the large open wound on your neck but nothing helped. Blood oozed out and stained your robes, forming a pool beneath you. Tears rolled down your husbands cheeks as he gently pulled you into his lap trying his best not to hurt you more. 

“y/n...I am so sorry. There’s nothing I can do.”

“It’s al-right Sev. I-I love yo-you...so much.”

You slowly raised a hand and placed it on his cheek. He placed his hand on top of your much smaller one and gripped it tight. 

“It’s hi-hideous is it n-not? My face.”

His heart broke when you asked him. You were always beautiful to him, no matter what. 

“No, no my love. You are beautiful. You will always be.”

He cupped your face and looked into your eyes fondly. 

“Th-thank you Severus, f-for everything.”

“No, y/n, thank you, thank you for making my life so much better, so much brighter. I love you my dear.”

You wanted to say something but you began coughing and choking. Blood trickled down your lips. You spoke faintly though the coughs. 

“I wil b-be with y-you. Al-always.”

You watched your husband nod and sob as he bent down until your lips met. Ignoring the blood that got on his lips, he placed a gentle kiss on your lips and on your scarred forehead. 

And with that your vision blurred and faded into darkness. Severus watched as the life and light from your warm eyes faded. He cried out loudly and hugged your lifeless body. 

“Always y/n.” 

He whispered through the cries and held you closer to his heart. 

8 years ago he fell in love with you and you changed his world forever until this day where you left him in his arms.

IMAGINE: If Snape was forced to torture a woman...

Summary: The dark lord being the evil pure-blood maniac ordered all his death-eaters to capture half-bloods and muggle-borns and torture them to death. Severus being one of Voldemort’s most trusted follower was entrusted with something different. Out of the many methods of being immortal, one was to produce an heir. He wanted an heir. But him being incapable of producing an heir he gave the job to Severus who carries the blood of the Prince family. But the woman who shall carry the child is unwilling to give in. 

Snape being the gentleman we know would never hurt anyone unless absolutely necessary. Especially with it being a woman. Instead, he put all effort into brewing a potion which will need just the blood of the father to produce a child.

It was just another midnight death eater meeting. Muggle-borns being killed and tortured ruthlessly. The dark lord closed his eyes and was deep in though when he was pulled out by a familiar voice. 

“You called for me, my lord?”

“Ah Severus, yes. You keep providing me with your loyal services and bring me valuable information but this time I need more. Much more.”

Seeing that he was waiting for an answer Snape replied.

“Of course my lord. Whatever you desire.”

“You know what I most desire Severus. You are a clever man. On my mission of being immortal stand several barriers. I have been trying various methods but one remains....an heir. I need you to deliver me one.”

The sociopath was trying various ways to achieving immortality but an heir was not something he had yet considered. Severus scanned through the risks and dangers of agreeing. While he also was reminded that if he denied, the dark lord’s suspicions would rise and his cover would be blown. Leaving him with no option, but to agree.

“Anything you order me to do my lord. May I request the details?” 

“There is a woman about whom a prophecy has been stated. She possesses the power to destroy me, but we need to turn that against her. Although the blood that runs through her veins is muggle blood, the power needs to be put to my use.”

Severus could see this heading to nowhere good and he prepared himself for the worst that could happen. 

“The woman shall be captured and brought here tomorrow by Bellatrix. And I will need you to impregnate her as soon as you can. Of course she will be unwilling to submit herself, but do what you will have to. Details of this task must remain between the Malfoys, Bellatrix, you and me, only. Do you understand, Severus?”

“Yes my lord. I will try my best.”

“Good, you may depart. I will meet you here tomorrow by 11.”

With a slight bow Snape disapparated back to his house on Spinner’s End. How was he going to do this? Forcing himself over a woman just for the need to producing an heir. There has to be another way. 

Covered in a slight layer of cold sweat, he rushed to the fireplace and Floo called Dumbledore to convey the dreadful news.

In a few minutes, the headmaster was in Severus’s living room. 

“What was so important, Severus?”

“Take a seat, you might as well need it.”

Albus did as told as Severus sucked in a deep breath and sunk down on the chair opposite the older man. 

“There was a meeting and the dark lord has assigned me a task. Which apparently is a way of making him immortal.”

“What is the task.”

“A prophecy has been stated about a woman with the power to vanquish the dark lord and he wants an heir. An heir whose mother must be the said woman. He needs me to do the deed. With her being unwilling and possibly a muggle-born.”

A heavy and tense silence settled in as Albus was deep in thought about the news he’d just received. 

“What do I do Albus?”

Severus asked with the look of a helpless and defeated man.

“You will have to do it Severus. If not, you will be exposed and all effort would be in vain. I will think of an alternative and let you know. When will you have to do it?”

“Tomorrow night. 11 pm.”

He whispered gravely and looked into Albus’ curious blue eyes. 

 “I am sorry my boy. I would offer my assistance if I could.” 

“Sorry does not make it any better Albus.”

The time had arrived. He had no other option but to do as said. With clammy hands he put on his death-eater robes and mask and apparated to the Malfoy Manor. 

The place was empty, cold and deserted. He scanned the hall for any sign of the dark lord but he was no where to be seen. 

“Severus. Follow me.”

It was Lucius. Severus followed him down to the dungeons, passing cells with prisoners and house-elfs, and stopped in front of a wall at the end of the dingy corridor with cells on either side. With a wave of Lucius’s wand, the stone wall ahead vanished revealing a large room where he was met with a horrendous sight. 

In front of him stood the dark lord, Narcissa and Bellatrix. The lunatic witch was knelt over a woman and carved the infamous slur ‘mudlood’ on her pale flesh. Shrill screams and cries echoed through the room and resonated across as Severus watched with his emotionless mask on. 

His eyes widened by seeing who the woman was. 

“Ah just in time Severus.”

Said the dark lord as they all turned his attention to him. 

“The woman has been obliviated so she forgets her past and herself. You know what to do. You shall have your privacy. Lucius and Narcissa will be around if you must need anything.”

With that the 4 of them left of the room. Leaving Severus alone with the woman who was sobbing profusely. 

“What are you going to do to me?”

She whimpered and stared up at Severus. 

“I don’t want to hurt you. But I need your help for that. His orders are for me to impregnate you. But I cannot do that. There is another way.”

She stared at him with an unfathomable expression. Of course, who would want to bear the child of a filthy man like him. It was understandable. 

“Are you not one of them?”

“I am. I cannot reveal anymore to you. I will try my best to create a potion which will not need us to do the deed, but will get you to bear a child.” 

“You must not disclose this to anyone.”

With that Severus walked away to a corner of the room and pulled out a small leather pouch from his pocket and enlarged it. 

It was a cauldron and several bottles and viles of ingredients. And with that he got to work and began brewing while the woman silently stared at him with respect.

After hours of work over the cauldron, Severus looked at the woman to see she was asleep on the floor. That was when he realized how long he had taken. He took slow steps towards her and gently shook her awake. Her eyes flew open as she realized where she was and bolted up. 

“I’m sorry, I was tired.”

“The potion is ready. Would you like taking it now or at another time?”

“I’ll take it now.”

With a quick nod he walked to the steaming cauldron and dropped in a few drops of his blood in the  potion after making a small cut with a kitchen knife. The potion boiled and turned a deep shade of crimson. 

After pouring the liquid into a narrow small vile, he handed to the woman who stood opposite him. 

“Will it work?”

“It will.”

She brought the vile to her lips and emptied it’s contents. Will a relieved expression she faced Severus and said.

“Thank you very much”

He averted his eyes and nodded. 

“Anything for you Lily”

The red haired woman in front of him look up at him and smiled warmly at him. Those green eyes that bore into his soul.
