Read Jamaica Kincaid's "A Small Place", a piece of non-fiction prose about the post-colonial situation of her native Antigua. The earliest sections are written as a mock-travelogue, detailing the journey of a tourist from the airport to the hotel and juxtaposing their tropical escape from drudgery with the drudgery of the tropical island they've escaped to. Eventually the narrator declares tourists ugly-as-such and begins listing points of contempt from the native perspective. This is all dictated to the tourist in the second person, culminating (to my eyes) in a twist:
"They do not like you. They do not like me! That thought never actually occurs to you."
The italicized bit is the first (and only?) place where the narration stops addressing the tourist and enters into their thoughts -- but this break also challenges the heretofore strict division between the islander narrator and her tourist addressee. Extra-textual knowledge about Kincaid's life would inform you that she left her homeland at seventeen to live in the US, only occasionally returning to visit. The first/second person breakage (and the anxious denial that follows it) informs us that Kincaid no longer feels quite like a native, that she's become a tourist of her old home. All the malicious second person snipes informing the tourist that the natives are laughing behind their back, that their alienation from the host culture is pronounced and pathetic, are all recontextualized to encompass the author's awareness that she herself no longer belongs. Very neat gesture.
Hussie's work is rife with this sort of second-person manipulation, so spotting (or suspecting, at least) this kind of play in a new work felt pleasantly familiar.

Headcanons about advantages of being popular for the creeps also the embarrassing stuff (Do people make edits of them like how we do 😭)
Underrealm Fandom
Considering the popularity of the Underrealm, the most popular victim of edits is most likely Slender. (Zalgo had to publicly deny liking one because it caused such a craze. He blamed it on a minion accessing his computer.)
He's the underdog, mysterious, and has a giant library. I mean, the fanfictions practically write themselves at that point.
A close second is BEN, totally not because he manipulates the forums and posts edits of himself to gain traction of his own popularity.
Definitely not.
3rd place is Jeff. No one knows why. He literally just some guy that stabs people.
Another thing is the proxies have to deal with people knowing who they are when they go out in public, so they often have to disguise themselves with different masks and clothing in order to keep a low profile.
They don't have to worry about fan-mail directly to the manor, the address is unknown to outsiders. Slender has friends at the Post that sort through unnecessary packages and mail. The creeps can choose access it as they wish, but they would rather not have too much contact with outsiders due to security reasons.
You never know who could be posing as a fan.
Toby is the biggest social media presence, he goes live at least once per day to just show some inside happenings of the manor. There's even a compilations of Toby finding Masky sleeping in random places somewhere on the internet.
Ben streams, but not as often as one would think. He works a lot and frankly doesn't have the social energy to entertain a camera.
But!! If they're recognized they usually get discounts at food places! That's good, right? Even just a dollar off goes a long way.
Sometimes companies will send individuals things as well. Fpr example, Slender will get a loot box of whiskey and bourbon every other month. And Ben gets snacks from overseas at a discount that he didn't even ask for, but hot damn, he'll take it.
But truly the biggest disadvantage is being recognized, working or not. It's just a nuisance to attempt to enjoy a day out and they're stopped and spoke to for like half an hour.
Pictures aren't allowed, but that doesn't stop them from attempting to take some...up until Kate tackled some poor fellow trying to take a selfie with a statue behind her, unbeknownst of her presence.
Everyone got the hint after that.

Meteors from the Veil are both stoning and insemination -- both death and life. But insofar as the surroundings of a session can represent the audience (like Dave's ring of crows), perhaps that becomes the same as jeering amd cheering? And the Rings of Void and Life respectively send things off-stage (jeers and stones > boos and tomatoes) and on-stage (clapping restores Tinkerbell to life).
