“Hey,” Eddie slid into the last booth in the corner of Benny’s Burger, sunglasses pushing back the face-framing curls as he shoved them onto his crown. “Thanks for meeting.”
“S’no problem,” you forced a small smile. After dinner last night you were a ball of anxiety. You curled up on the couch, thoughts going to what you would say the next day while Eddie and Willow played. They sat on the floor for a while until eventually, the toddler had fallen asleep in his lap. He helped tote her to the car, buckling her in and placing a small kiss on her cheek. You could tell that Will already had him wrapped around her pinky finger.
The last time you were this close to Eddie alone, there had been a lot of yelling. The ring dangling from his necklace had been thrown rather harshly at his head. Now you could blame all the rage on the unknown pregnancy hormones but deep down it was more than just first-trimester issues.
“So,” Eddie pulled you from your thoughts. “Tell me about everything. I mean, Henderson told me some stuff but tell me everything I missed.”
“Well,” you decided to not meet his gaze and fixed your eyes on the water glass in front of you. “I knew I was pregnant after I came back from Chicago.” It felt weird admitting it. Knowing and never telling.
“I took like a billion at-home tests and then mom dragged me to the doctor and I was like 9 weeks along. I was in shock for a while. Didn’t really tell anyone until I started showing.” Your hands went to play with the straw, you needed something to do or else you might start crying. “I thought about calling you every day but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.”
“Why didn’t you?”
“I left...” it came out just above a whisper. “You were about to be on top of the world and I knew as soon as I called it would all be over. You would have left the band and come back to live a life you didn’t want.”
A baby couldn’t fix the issues. You knew that Eddie would have resented you for getting pregnant right before a huge world tour and the release of their third album. You thought that having him back in Hawkins would just end as before, yelling and you walking out again. He needed to live a life away from this town and you so he could grow.
“We could’ve figured it out,” Eddie’s voice was soft. Had this conversation occurred three years ago his tone would have been different, harsher. Before he could say anything else a boy came over to take orders. Eddie claimed he wasn’t hungry but ordered a basket of fries for the two of you to snack on. You didn’t order anything, very aware of the sick feeling in your stomach. You waited until he left before you spoke again.
“She came out with a head full of curls and at first her eyes were this dark blue but by the time she was three months they were your dark brown,” You were a little jealous of how much of Eddie came out of your little girl. You had hoped that when her eyes began to darken they would turn into your mom’s hazel hues, flecked with green and blue. Instead, you found yourself staring into his eyes every day. Somedays it would break your heart. Other times it would just remind you how much you loved him even if you weren’t together.
A basket of fries was placed between the two of you, Eddie grabbing a fry and nibbling on the end. “She’s just like you. Wayne started calling her Munson Menace because of her tantrums,”
“Munson Menace?” Eddie chuckled, shaking his head. “I’m assuming she has your last name, yeah?”
You popped a fry in your mouth, not sure how to approach the question. Finally, after a few seconds, you broke. “It’s hyphenated, mine and yours.”
“You gave her my name?” The fry he was holding fell out of his grasp, hitting the sticky table.
“Yeah, I knew it would mean something to you and Wayne. I mean, it was almost my name at one point.” You shrugged, eyes looking at the emerald stone glinting in the harsh light of the diner. It was mocking you.
“It could still be your name if you want,” He was looking at you, brown eyes gazing longingly. “I came back here to see you, I was gonna grovel and beg, and finding out we have a kid is just a bonus.”
“Ed,” you felt your heart swell and you pushed back the lump growing in your throat. “We’ve been apart almost four years. We have no idea who we are anymore.”
“I know who we are,” he was reaching for your long fingers curling around the back of your hand. “Bug I’ve done a lot of thinking over the past two years-”
“Eddie stop,” you pull your hand away from him breaking the moment. “That’s not how this work-”
“Tell me what to do,” he shifted in his seat, a hand grabbing the ring hanging from his neck. “Baby I have spent the past three years tryin’ to figure out how t’get you back. I wrote a whole album for you-”
“Yeah lyin’ bitch is a great love song, Eddie.”
“That’s not- Jesus H. Christ, can you not? I was upset when I wrote that. I thought you told the whole town I cheated on you,” you watched him take a deep breath trying to calm down. “I have spent every day for the past two years on tour missing you, I used to dedicate every show to you. I went to therapy to work my shit out, to be better for you.  I’m better than when you left.”
He was pleading, leaning against the table hands finding their way back to yours. His thumb brushed over the empty ring finger and you squeezed your eyes shut. “C’mon baby, please. lemme be the man you need.” He squeezed your hand, trying to coax your eyes back open to meet his gaze. You knew that one look would have you melting into his touch. Slowly, you met his eyes, taking your bottom lip between your teeth.
“We can’t just pick up where we left off,” you looked down at the locked hands. “We’re different now. We have a kid, she has a routine and I have worked so hard to get her to where she’s at.
“You can start by coming over when I get off work and spend time with us and usually Wayne will take her out on Saturdays to go run errands with him so we can spend more time getting to know each other without Willow,” you were rambling at this point. It seemed easier to get everything out on the line before it was too late. “ and whenever you go on tour again we can talk about us meeting you in cities close by or I can take time off work and go with you-”
“Babe you gotta slow down and breath between sentences,” Eddie squeezed your hand again. “I’m not going anywhere for a while. I wanna be here for both of you. I will do anything if it means I can be a part of this family.”
----------
Eddie had been true to his word, he was sticking around for a very long. The moving truck showed up in Hawkins the Monday after and dropped off his boxes at the trailer, where he unpacked while waiting on you to get home. He had managed to unbox everything and settled back into his old life all before five o’clock. When you pulled up to your house with a whiny toddler Eddie was on the front porch blowing smoke rings into the air lazily.
He met you at the car, opening the backseat with a smile. “Hey princess, have a good day?” Willow let out a squeal seeing her dad, throwing her arms up as he unbuckled her from the car seat. She latched on to him, grabbing onto the Metallica shirt to steady herself. “Hi, Bug.”
“Hi Eds,” you shut the car door behind you, twirling the keychain around your finger as the three of you walked up the path to your house. It was small, but enough for you and Willow. Eddie had stopped momentarily to get a good look at the place. It was white with blue shutters, and you had painted the door a nice shade of yellow. You unlocked the door, turning to wave him in.
He stumbled across the threshold dramatically. “Oh no Will, the gravity is too strong. I’m gonna fall,” he fell into the couch, pulling the toddler onto his chest. Long fingers began poking at her sides making laughter fall from her little lips. You padded down the hallways toward the kitchen to prepare dinner. Willow had specifically asked for chicken nuggets on the way home.
You had just finished sticking the baking tray into the oven when two small hands wrapped around your leg. “Mama,” Will whispered. “awe we havin’ chicken nuggets?”
“Yes baby,” you brushed back some of her curls, smiling.
“Is daddy eatin’ with us?” Daddy. Your heart skipped a beat at that phrase. You had told her the day before that she could call Eddie whatever she wanted, he didn’t have to be called dad if it didn’t feel right. Willow took to it so easily so though.
“Yes baby,” you answered again. Eddie’s curls peaked around the door frame, cheeks turning red at the sound of his new name. You smiled at him before pushing Willow towards him. “Go play while mama finishes dinner okay?”
-----
After dinner you found yourself on the couch, back pressed against Eddie’s chest while the local news station played on the TV. Willow was on the floor, tongue sticking out as she colored in her Princess and Dragon coloring book. Both of you were focused on the scribbles she was making, not paying attention to the news anchor on the screen.
“Does this count as a date?” Eddie mumbles against your ear. You could feel the smile on his lips.
“Maybe,” you turn to him, your own smile tugging at the corner of your lips. “I mean we had dinner and now a show.” Eddie hummed, happy with your answer, and placed a quick kiss on your forehead. It was normal, casual, yet the thumping in your chest said otherwise. You turned back to Willow and watched her scribble some more. “Hey kiddo, I think it’s time for a bath.”
“Nooooo,” Willow whined, wiggling her little body away from your reach. Eddie moved off the couch and scooped up the little one in his arms, throwing her over his shoulder while she squealed. You stood up, face to face with her. “Do I gotta?”
“Yes, you gotta,” she poked her nose with your pointer finger. “If you do good I’ll let daddy read you a bedtime story.”
-----
“What’s that?” Willow reached up a small finger looping around the gold band situated on Eddie’s chain. He paused from reading his story and looked down at her.
“It’s mommy’s ring,” he grabbed the guitar pick next to it, bumping her hand slightly.
“Why does you have it?”
“I’m keeping her close to my heart,” Willow frowned at his answer. “I wear it so she’s always with me when I’m on the road.”
She liked that answer better, settling against his chest again. “I want a wing.”
“I’ll get ya one pretty girl, but let’s finish this story first.”

Made to Be Extra III
You can read Made to Be here.
A fluffy little thing of 2.5k words
I hope you enjoy <3
“Do you think I look less pretty than normal?” She wondered.
“Kitten, number one, I think you are the prettiest pregnant lady ‘ve ever seen in m’life. M’sad it’ll be over soon. May have t’get y’pregnant as soon as possible jus’ t’keep y’so pretty like this."
March/April
Harry found the love of his life sitting in the car under the shade of a tree. It was a warm March day especially in the sun. The poor thing was practically ready to pop and utterly uncomfortable all the time now. It was hard to believe she still had almost another month. He opened the driver’s door and smiled at her, leaned over and pressed a kiss on her temple. “Hi angel,” he hummed. He pressed his hand on her extremely round stomach. “Hi Andy,” he cooed. They didn’t know if it was a boy or girl yet. All they knew was they were going to have little Andoni or Andrielle and they were going to be nicknamed Andy. “Did y’have fun in history class today with Mummy?” He smiled gently at the tired lady beside him.
He thought it was a girl because he read a few articles indicating some old wives’ tales that being exhausted (which the poor thing was) meant a girl at the end of the nine months.
“Andy does not care about the US in the 1990s,” she murmured. “Kicked my bladder the whole time,” she sighed. “Gonna be a little soccer player. Or really into martial arts,”
Harry had yet to feel a kick which he was utterly bummed about. He hoped Andy would let him feel it just once, but his poor punching bag of a wife insisted that Harry’s voice was so soothing that Andy fell right to sleep the minute he started talking. “M’sorry, love,” he kissed the side of her head again. “Do y’want anything before we head home?” He asked while starting the car.
“I will die if we stop anywhere,” she told him, closing her eyes and resting her forehead on the window. Andy had been lovely throughout the last eight months, honestly. She didn’t have crazy mood swings—no more than normal, as she liked to point out to Harry—no horrible nausea other than a week or two in the first trimester, and she was extremely happy that she didn’t want anything gross like pickles and peanut butter. But the exhaustion was setting it. It was hard for her to walk or even fold laundry without getting winded. Naturally, Harry took care of everything he possibly could. Waiting on her hand and foot, making sure she didn’t have to lift a finger, and always assuring her that he didn’t mind nor cared about anything she said or did. “I’m sorry, Harry,” she said after a second.
He chuckled. “What for, kitten?” He asked as he pulled into traffic.
“For not wanting to stop.”
“Don’t be silly, angel,” he rolled his eyes.
Because of the exhaustion, she was able to fall asleep in seconds, always at awkward angles. Always at Harry’s worry of her hurting her neck, like now. Cheek nearly sliding down the length of the window. He smirked glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t want to wake her as he drove back home.
*
She had fitful sleeps since Andy kept her up all night. “Making me practice,” she told Harry as she paced from their bedroom to the kitchen most nights.
Harry and her family were able to move them finally into a house that would become the home of three just shy of her fifth month. Harry was insistent she couldn’t lift anything that was heavier than a book (but couldn’t be one of her classroom textbooks). He pitted her whole family against her.
“Just boss us around like you always do,” her younger sister said. She rolled her eyes and pressed a hand on her stomach.
“You hear that, Andy? Auntie says I’m bossy!”
“Extremely, sweetie,” her mum said passing by with a box. She frowned and Harry winked at her as he and her dad lifted the heavier furniture in between all the girls relaying the boxes into the house. “It’s okay, honey. You’re good at it. We would all be lost without you,” he told her.
She rolled her eyes. “Anne and Gemma never make fun of me,” she reminded them.
“That’s because they still think you’re sweet,” her middle sister said.
“Yeah, Harry. Why is that? You know the real her. You shouldn’t lie to your mom and sister like that,” the younger one said.
Harry thought their banter was one of his favorite things about this family. Even her divorced parents seemed amicable enough to help their eldest daughter and still kindly poke fun at her. Harry came to her side once the sofa was in position where she wanted it. “How are we doing m’loves?” he asked rubbing his hand over her tummy just barely starting to show.
“I swear Andy only kicks when you’re not in earshot,” she murmured. “I really want to help,” she said knowingly. “I think I could easily carry a box or two. Women have been having babies for thousands of years and I bet they still had to help carry stuff back to their caves.”
“You are growing m’baby,” he reminded her, quietly. So as not to draw a lot of attention from her family. They didn’t mind the couple at all, but he knew she was shy at being overly affectionate in front of them. “You’re helping plenty, kitten,” he promised, pressing his hands to either side of her face and kissed her forehead. Letting his lips linger for a moment. “And we don’t live in a cave,” he reminded her as he and her dad started on the bed frame.
*
When he arrived at home, he grabbed their work bags and hurried to put them inside the door before returning for her. Carefully he opened her door, holding her up as she slumped toward the space where the door no longer was. Unless the baby woke her up, she was the heaviest sleeper in these little naps she took. “Hey, kitten, Andy,” he hummed. “We’re home m’loves,” he crouched toward the floor and unbuckled her. She slumped forward more. “Angel,” he cooed shaking her gently as he held her up.
“Mmm...” she moaned. “M’sleepy.”
“Let’s jus’ get y’inside, love,” he said quietly. As if she were made of glass, he carefully helped her to standing, pressing gently on her lower back. They didn’t speak as he guided her inside.
“I miss coffee,” she whined as he settled her onto the sofa. He chuckled and frowned.
“I know, angel,” he lifted her legs, setting them on a small stack of throw pillows he had there specifically for his love to recline comfortably. He pulled her shoes off and tossed them toward the front door near the mat she had laid out just for frequent shoes. “Soon,” he promised kissing her forehead. “Cold or hot?”
She frowned.
“Both?” He asked.
She nodded. “You’re so nice to me,” she sounded wispy—like she may cry. It had been almost a month since she had a mood swing resulting in rivers of tears.
“Don’t cry, kitten,” he said and draped her softest, warmest blanket over her and flicked the little desk fan on, so it pointed at her. “Jus’ want m’love t’be comfortable.”
“Don’t you want to kick for Daddy?” She asked rubbing her tummy. “She is so active when I talk. It’s got to be you,” she mumbled. Forgetting about the tears that were about to explode out of her.
“She hmm?”
Her cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. She had been avoiding pronouns—opting for Andy instead. She didn’t care if they were having a boy or a girl. As long as the baby was happy and healthy it truly didn’t matter. But she couldn’t help but think how much fun it would be to pamper a little girl lately. “I’m sorry,” she said. She didn’t want Harry to think she had some feeling—she didn’t. If Andy was a boy she would love him no less than if he were a girl.
“I think a little girl would be lovely,” Harry promised, easing her worried mind.
“There are so many girls in my family,” she reminded him.
“Then a little boy would be perfect, too,” he smirked and kissed her forehead. He moved toward the middle of her body, pressing his hands on her tummy and bringing his mouth close to her shirt. “Whoever you are, m’gonna love you with m’whole heart,” he whispered, kissing where he spoke.
She stretched a bit. Her back was aching. The little one was low in her tummy making her think it would be a boy if she were to believe the old wives’ tales. “Do you think I look less pretty than normal?” She wondered.
“Kitten, number one, I think you are the prettiest pregnant lady ‘ve ever seen in m’life. M’sad it’ll be over soon. May have t’get y’pregnant as soon as possible jus’ t’keep y’so pretty like this,” he remarked running his hands down the length of her legs and he sat beside her feet where he began massaging gently into the soles of her feet. He meant every word. It was like she was made to be pregnant. Not in an oppressive way. She just wore it so well and looked so utterly beautiful. “Secondly, I’d be an idiot t’answer that question at any time.”
She frowned. “I think I look the same,” she admitted. “Means it’s a boy.”
He smirked and she dropped her head back against the sofa as he rubbed her feet. “I love you so much,” she moaned.
He chuckled. “I love you, too, kitten.”
“I wish you could be pregnant just so you could experience how amazing this foot rub is.”
Harry smiled. “So... some of the kids want t’throw you a baby shower,” he told her. “I know y’hate surprises so m’telling y’now. So y’can act surprised.”
“They’re not supposed to give me gifts,” she frowned.
“I explained that; even if I think it’s a bit unfair they want t’spoil you as y’deserve,” Harry nodded in agreement. “They said, and I quote, ‘I will totally fight administration if they don’t let me give her a baby outfit.’ So. I think its out of our hands.”
“That’s really sweet,” she frowned again—but not like before when Harry thought she would cry. She solely thought it was sweet.
“You are their favorite teacher,” he reminded her. She felt her cheeks warm. Now it had been almost five years at this school. Standing across the hall from Harry between classes he was front row to watching people adore his wife—not even close to the amount he admired her, but it was still adorable to watch. Students smiled at her or made jokes with her as they passed her room. She had stragglers refuse to go to their next class for just a few more minutes of her maternal love—an hour-long class wasn’t enough. Students wanted to stay during lunch just to be in her presence and hear her make jokes.
“Maybe history teacher. Pretty sure it’s no competition against the culinary teacher. You can’t compete with food.”
“You have snacks,” he reminded her.
She shrugged. Then her head snapped up. “Get me my bag,” she said hurriedly. Harry looked at her confused. Nervous and worried but did as she requested. “I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner,” she whispered to herself.
“Think of—”
“Shh,” she hushed and reached in her bag for the thick history text. She reached out for his hand holding it in her gently. She opened the book to what seemed to be a random page and started reading. “By the early 1960s, many women were increasingly resentful of a world where newspaper ads separated jobs by gender, banks denied women credit, and female employees were paid less for the same work. Nearly—” Her voice caught but she continued reading as if it hadn’t. Harry was clueless. Nervous she was having some weird episode. “half of American women worked by the mid-1960s, but three-fourths of these women worked in lower—” as she continued reading, Harry was watching her face intently, still quite worried about her mental well-being as it was by far the oddest thing she had done to date reading about the women’s movement from her classroom textbook.
But soon Harry realized why. While he was gazing at her beautiful face, she moved her hand to her tummy allowing him to feel the little future soccer star inside her. He swallowed the breath afraid to make any movements. He didn’t hear the words his lovely wife was saying. All he could focus on was the feel of the little bumps along her stomach. It wasn’t plausible but Harry never wanted her to stop reading. He wanted to feel the little one for as long as possible. He had waited so long and now that she was approaching the final month, he thought he might not feel it.
As she read, she guided Harry’s hand along her stomach so he could feel all the little kicks to her abdomen. He knelt to the floor for an easier reach, just staring at baby Andy through her tummy. He couldn’t wait to meet the little one. He hoped that the baby looked just like his gorgeous wife. Or maybe a good mix of the two of them—but mostly her. If Harry wasn’t so focused on the feel of his little baby kicking the woman he loved so much, he would have been staring right at his beautiful wife until his eyes fell out of his head.
After a long read through the women’s movement in the US of the 1960s, she finally stopped reading, reaching the end of the chapter, and closed the book. Harry gazed at her with so much admiration her stomach flipped.
“I love you, so much,” he whispered.
As soon as his mouth opened the kicking stopped. She giggled. “Daddy’s voice makes me all safe and warm too,” she whispered rubbing her stomach. “I love you, too,” she answered.
Harry scooted on the floor toward her head, cupping the sides of her face in his hands. “You are my hero,” he told her seriously. “Thank you for taking care of little Andy here,” he whispered and leaned in to kiss her.
“Thanks for taking care of us,” she murmured around his flurry of kisses. “You’re going to be the best daddy in the whole world.”
Harry grinned against her lips feeling unbelievably lucky he had the whole world in his hands figuratively and literally with her and Andy.

Between The Ones I Love
Rating: T TWs: Wholesomeness Prompt for Frans Monthly November: [Cuddles] Word Count: 1,422
Cross posted to Ao3 here!
@frans-monthly
Frisk’s feet ached, and her back felt as tight as a violin string.
Night had fallen, but Frisk found herself content to stay in bed or rather compelled to. Golden cast irises darted up to the blood bag currently suspended above the edge of the bed and trailed down along its length as they finally followed a thin tube down to her wrist where Alphys had so delicately taped it to her skin.
Frisk was in the second trimester of her second pregnancy, however it was no better than the last. Sans had said as much—had warned her that it would be another risk just as Elys’ had been, but she’d not listened. They’d spent hours, weeks going back and forth on the issue.
She’d never seen him lose his temper before…
The way his eyelights had terrifyingly flared, the viciously crooked downturning of his grin as he’d shattered what had been considered a valued treasure in his bare hand.
Frisk had trembled, scared.
But then he’d taken a moment to close his sockets, to breathe, before smiling again as he always did. Only, she’d then seen the sadness in his expression, his concern as he’d finally agreed and pulled her close to hold her while listing off all the precautions they’d need to take—fully supportive.
That small, monumental, interaction was what made her certain that she’d been making the right choice. Because the more they’d talked about how to handle it, the more he’d softened, and even arrived to the point where he’d cracked a good joke or two about future plans together as a family.
Sans had been so worried…
Frisk stared at the IV rather grumpily and the crimson liquid inside it.
He still was.
Despite that, she still so desperately wanted this child.
Not just for her to dote on, but for the look on Sans’ face…he so enjoyed being a father. She never would have believed it from how everything had gone before Elys had come along, but she ended up loving the effect their little girl had on him almost as much as she loved the skeleton herself. She knew this would be worth it, and they’d love this one just as much as Elys, and Elys would have a friend, someone she could hopefully play and grow with through the years.
Frisk had so many hopes and dreams for this.
Ultimately the aches and pains she currently felt were nothing in the grander scheme of things. She didn’t regret all the hard work they’d had to invest into making this happen, especially so soon after their first when compared to other vampires who’d take centuries at a time if that at all to produce offspring.
She just wished she could’ve been spared the complications that came with it.
Knock
Knock
Slowly she lifted her head, curious and a bit excited at the prospect of company. Whereas normally she would’ve asked who it was as a preemptive measure of setting up a joke, she was too eager to see who had come to pay her attention, and so gave a happy, “Come in!”
The creaking of the door as it opened echoed around the room as a sliver of darkness exposed the shadowed hall beyond in a thin slit barely large enough for a mouse to prod through.
Frisk blinked, confused.
And suddenly the crack opened wide and a snowy white head of hair popped in.
“Mom?”
Instantly Frisk grinned as she met the cool blues of her daughter’s eyes. Gently she eased herself up to lean against the headboard of her bed, trying her best to ignore how dizzy the action slightly made her, and waved Elys on in with a small pat to a spot on the bed beside her.
That was all that was needed as the little girl’s own smile widened—so similar to her father’s—and she padded in with happy steps until she was swinging herself over the edge of the mattress and tucking in beside her mother. Frisk made a joyful sound as Ely’s arms came around her and returned the embrace.
“Dad said you couldn’t come down to eat.” Elys huffed.
Frisk felt a drop of sweat on her brow. “Yes, I was a bit light headed this evening and out of concern your father fetched Alphys. I’ve been ordered to spend the next two days in bed to make sure I have enough blood for the baby.”
At that Elys glanced down at the slight protrusion of her stomach and hummed.
“Brother eats like Uncle Pap.”
Frisk raised a brow as she chuckled.
“Brother? Why do you say that? For all we know it could be a sister.”
Elys shook her head as she nuzzled closer, content in her mother’s arms. “No, brother.”
Frisk decided to not speak further on the assumption. She never understood how children could sound so confident in what they thought or felt, she could barely remember how she was at such an age. The idea that Elys wanted a brother of all things rather than a sister to sow or learn to cook with actually sparked warmth in Frisk’s soul. It wasn’t common to see a child wanting a sibling of the opposite sex.
But then again…
Children did have an uncanny ability when it came to making predictions…
“A brother then,” Frisk giggled. “And yes, he has quite the appetite.”
Another knock, and this time Frisk looked up to spot her husband standing in the doorway with a cheeky smirk across his teeth. Elys beamed as she stuck her tongue out at him before making a show of wiggling impossibly closer into her side.
“i’ve been beaten to my own room, the shame.” His baritone rolled as he entered and walked up to the side of the bed.
“You were racing?” Frisk asked as Elys snickered.
“no, i was finishing an important discussion. elys was racing, by herself, after declaring there was a race to begin with.” Without preamble Sans slid onto the mattress at Frisk’s opposite side and wrapped an arm around her waist, tucking her close against his chest. Even now the contact still sent a flush to her cheeks.
“Hey!” Elys cried. “I won! I get the cuddles!”
Frisk bit her lip as she did her best not to laugh at the girl’s outrage. Sans on the other hand openly chuckled as his brow creased in an uptick and his eyelights flashed briefly with amusement as he purposefully nuzzled Frisk’s cheek, turning her primrose blush a deeper shade of scarlet.
“you forget, there’s such a thing as a consolation prize.” Sans winked. “and that prize is that i get to cuddle both your mother and the winner.”
Elys’ expression dropped into a deadpan as Sans’ other arm came around and encircled her as well, completing the collection of their immediate family as he placed a light press of his teeth to the top of her head.
“That sounds more like a first prize.”
“maybe~” He drawled. “but surely you don’t want to run over my feelings by denying me the cuddle pile, do you?”
There was no hesitation as Elys shouted, “Yes!”
“the betrayal.” Sans huffed.
Frisk sat happy and silent as they both went back and forth; Sans with his teasing and Elys with her indignation. This went on for sometime before the three of them had migrated to fully laying down beneath the covers and Elys fell asleep against her mother’s side.
Smiling gently she ran a tender hand through her daughter’s hair.
At the same time a warm hand glided up and down her arm, slow, unrushed as it came to a stop and a thumb brushed over her shoulder.
Sans’ voice was a whisper against her ear. “how are you feeling?”
Frisk took a second more to stare at Elys' sleeping expression, content and warm between the two greatest things of her life. She couldn’t help smiling as she pressed further into him and pulled Elys closer.
“Better than ever.”
And it was true.
These were the moments Frisk lived for, and what she so desperately hoped to have so much more of when their family grew. Sans didn’t say anything, merely moved his hand to her stomach and gave it a gentle stroke with a low hum on his teeth, just as he’d been doing from the start, and let his gloved phalanges rest there as he pressed a slow, lingering kiss to her temple.
“pleased to hear it love.”

“Congratulations once again, Harry. This Grammy looks great on you,” the interviewer compliments the grinning man who still very much feels like he is in a dream and his phone could start ringing anytime, ending this ethereal feeling of becoming what was only a dream when he was just a boy.
“Thank you,” he cracks a humbled smile.
“How are you gonna celebrate? Popping all the champagnes?”
“Honestly?” he sighs. “I just really want to kiss my wife, that’s gonna be my celebration,” he chuckles shyly, making every woman close to him swoon at his sweetness.
He accepts all the congratulations, the little shiny golden award weighing in his hands, not letting it out of his sight as he makes his way to the back to change his outfit back to something casual instead of the bold statements he has been making all night with his boas.
“Good night, Harry. Tell Y/N I said hi!” Sarah runs a hand down his back, grabbing his attention immediately. She’s gotten rid of her leather bodysuit as well, wearing just jeans and an oversized t-shirt, but her bump is making an appearance in it regardless. Mitch is holding his girlfriend’s other hand, their bags occupying his other as he smiles back at Harry with proud, shining eyes.
“Good night, you guys. Drive safe and thank you for tonight.” Harry pulls her into yet another hug, careful not to hold her too tight.
“Good night, see you soon,” him and Mitch share a quick hug as well, patting each other on the back before stepping back. Sarah’s hand runs down her belly, an instinctive motion Harry has seen quite often lately and not just from her and it reminds him how badly he just wants to get home to you finally.
While most performers and winners are probably out for some celebrations, champagnes must flow all directions, Harry quickly loads his things in his car and heads home to the one person he would ever want to celebrate with. It’s late, way past midnight by the time he arrives home and he has a guess where to find you.
Being the angel that you are, you left the lights on for him so he doesn’t have to blindly make his way to the bedroom. He kicks off his boots, drops his bag to the couch in the living room, placing the award on the dining table before padding down the hallway, the muffled sound of the TV and the strobbing lights of the screen still on in there, illuminating the doorway. He pushes the door that’s ajar open more, his smile immediately widening as he sees you curled up under the sheets, the TV remote still in your hands, your phone lying on the pillow next to your head while you’re fast asleep.
You swore you wouldn’t have problem staying up this late, but Harry knew it was not gonna happen, especially because ever since you’ve reached your third trimester bedtime was moved to seven o’clock, no exceptions.
Harry takes a second to adorn the beauty he has the luck to call his wife, before he quietly tiptoes into the bathroom connected to the bedroom to quickly wash up and get ready to his way of celebration: holding his pregnant wife in bed, falling asleep smelling your shampoo and maybe feeling a few tiny kicks under his palms.
Following a speedy shower he brushes his teeth, washing away the taste of that one glass of champagne he allowed for himself, he has been very restricted when it comes to alcohol ever since you found out you’re pregnant. Partially because he wants to take solidarity with you, having to say no to a good wine whenever you’re out for dinner, or a beer you occasionally drank with him while watching a movie. But he also feels like alcohol would just take away memories from his brain he wants to cherish forever.
Lifting the covers he tries to slip into bed next to you as gently and quietly as possible so you don’t wake up, but the moment the mattress sinks in under his weight, your eyes flutter open, blinking up at him sleepily as you register what’s really happening.
“Oh shit, you’re back! I really wanted to be awake when you arrive!” you pout at him as his arms curl around you, pulling you to him gently, his smiling lips pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“It’s alright, baby. I know how tired you always are.”
“Yeah, but my man won a fucking Grammy! I wanted to jump at you the moment you walk in,” you giggle, nuzzling your head into the crook of his neck. “I’m so proud of you, baby. Congrats!”
“Thank you,” he smirks blushing softly. He is still not used to the title he has earned today.
“You looked so hot on stage, that leather suit was awesome,” you grin, cupping his face, turning it towards you so you can see his bright, shining eyes.
“Yeah? You liked it?” he shyly asks, his finger grazing on your belly, tickling you a little in hopes the little one inside is still up, or went to sleep just like his mommy. “Mm, loved it,” you grin, pulling him down for a sweet kiss, one he was waiting all night to finally get. “And I love you.”
“Love you too, baby,” he hums against your lips, his palm coming to connect with your bump. “How are you feeling?” he asks, nuzzling his nose against yours.
He knows how this third trimester has been on you, the swelling and back pains killing you but you never complained as much as he knew you could have. He admired your strength all through this pregnancy, from the way you handled morning sickness, all the mood swings and changes in your body to the point where you are now carrying a literal watermelon at this point, having left only three more weeks until the baby arrives.
“I’m good, a little hungry maybe, but what’s new,” you chuckle.
“You want me to make you something?” he asks right away, ready to get out of bed to make you a sandwich or bake you cookies even if that’s what you wanted. But you push him down back shaking your head at him.
“It’s fine, I can wait until the morning. I just want to kiss my Grammy winner husband stupid right now,” you grin before leaving a sloppy kiss on his chest, chin, nose and finally, his lips. Pecking your lips a few times he makes you lie on your back as he slides down and pushing your shirt up, his adorning eyes fall to your belly, hands coming to gently cup it.
“Hey there, little one,” he murmurs as he leans closer and kisses your stretched out skin just above your belly button.
“He hasn’t moved in a while, think he’s asleep,” you smile, fingers running through his curls as you watch him pepper your belly with more feather-like kisses. Harry has been ecstatic since you found out you’re having a boy, though he would have been just the same if it was a girl.
“S’alright, I’m just gonna wish him goodnight,” he smiles, pressing his cheek against your bump before he kisses it one last time, pulling the shirt back down over it. Climbing up he pulls you back into his arms, knowing how much you like being held normally, but since you’ve fallen pregnant, you’ve become especially cuddly, which he doesn’t mind a bit.
“I love you, H. So proud of you,” you huff, feeling your eyes closing. Harry grabs the remote and turns the TV off, placing it to his nightstand along with your phone before kissing the top of your head.
“Love you too. Thank you for being here for me,” he huffs, the smile never leaving his lips. He has never felt happier and more complete ever in his life.
“Always,” you whisper before drifting back to sleep.
Thank you for reading, please like and reblog if you enjoyed it!

you + me = ? | n.r.
summary: after the war you and Natasha settle down, deciding to start a family in your cozy little home. The problem is though, how many times can hope be ignited before it fully burns out?
warnings: (trying to get pregnant) reader, canon/sterile Nat, swearing, Nat and you cry, post-endgame, sprinkle of angst with a very fluffy ending

im having baby fever rn im so sorry
Tumblr media
-flashback, pre-endgame-
"I wanna have a family." Your voice is barely above a whisper as you both look up at the night sky, laying in the garden atop the Avengers compound. "What?" Nat asks softly, breaking out of her trance as she looks at you. You're laying on her chest and her arm is wrapped your back, Nat's other arm folded up behind her head.
"I wanna have a family, with you." You repeat yourself, making eye contact with your girlfriend as her brows furrow. "Y/n.." Nat's voice is hesitant and panic floods your chest, your eyes widening as you move to sit up. "Oh my god I'm so sorry, that was so quick-" You apologize quickly as you avoid Natasha's gaze, the redhead sitting up with you.
You've dated Natasha for two years but everything has been slow, knowing how the assassin will close herself off if you try and move too fast (emotion wise).
"Hey Y/n no." Nat says softly as she looks at your side profile, a soft frown forming on her face as she sees you. "That's not the reason why." She says as she gently turns your head to face her, fingertips delicately grabbing your chin. "I do want to have a family with you, moya lyubov'..it's just that I can't." Nat whispers and you finally lock eyes with her, seeing the pain and sadness on her face. "What do you mean?' You ask carefully and she sighs, waiting a beat before deciding to tell you. "In the Red Room me and all of my other group mates were sterilized..it was like a sick graduation ceremony that prevented us from having a family of our own." She tells you and hurt immediately grips at your heart, seeing Nat avert her gaze for a moment.
"Why?" You question and she purses her lips together, one of your hands rubbing her knee gently. "So we would never have any distraction from our mission..so that our only purpose in life was to kill and be used as a weapon." Disgust drips from Nat's voice at the last part, your soft hands on her wrist bringing her back to reality. "Im so sorry Nat, I shouldn't have anything I didn't know-" You start to apologize again but Nat stops you with a soft shake of her head, a bittersweet smile on her face. "Don't apologize, Y/n. I'm the one who should be sorry for not being able to give you the family that you deserve." She says and now it's your turn to shake your head, grabbing Nat's hands and caressing them gently. "Its alright baby." You smile gently before an idea pops into your head, your eyes lighting up and Nat gives you a look of curiosity.
"Besides.." You start, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "If you really..truly..wanted a family with me, there could still be other options. Like adopting or getting a surrogate..or I could get pregnant instead." You suggest and Natasha's eyes light up like the stars in the night sky, a small laugh escaping your lips as you see the excitement on her face.
"Really?! You'd do that?" She asks and you nod your head, giving your girlfriend a soft kiss before laughing. "Mmhm, but you'd have to put a ring on it first, Miss Romanoff." You giggle and Nat wraps her arms around you again, both of you laying back down on the blanket. "Im planning to, future Mrs.Romanoff."
-present day, post-endgame-
You nervously pace around the bathroom as you wait for the three minutes to be up, Natasha sitting on the edge of the bathtub and observing you walk back and forth. The pregnancy test is laying by the sink and you can’t help but glance at it every few seconds, not having felt this nervous since battling Thanos and his army. You’ve faced gods, powerful Titans, super soldiers, but you’re sure this the most nerve wracking thing you’ve ever had to do. Once the timer on Natasha’s phone goes off, you practically jump towards the sink, Natasha leaning forward a bit more on the bathtub. Picking up the white and pink pregnancy test, you nervously turn it over in your hands, eyes scanning the small window for the results.
Natasha doesn’t even have to ask for the results when she sees your shoulders slump and your face drop, quickly getting up from the bathtub to wrap you up in her arms. Hugging you from behind, she can see the negative test in your hands, gently kissing your cheek when you don’t say anything. “It’s okay baby, we can try again.” She says softly and you shake your head, slowly placing the test down and closing your eyes.
“Nat, what if somethings wrong with me?” You whisper and her arms hug you closer, tears pooling under your eyelids in frustration. “Nothing is wrong with you malysh.” Natasha reassures you and you turn in her arms, releasing a shaky breath as you press your face into her neck. “Three times Nat..three fucking times..” You sigh and she only holds you closer, knowing how much hope the both of you had for this one. “I know, I know.” Nat hums softly as she rocks the two of you back and forth gently, feeling the hope starting to dwindle from you. “What if we just weren’t meant to have a biological children? What if we weren’t meant to have lives after the war?” You question out loud and Natasha pulls back, gently tilting your chin up so you can look her in the eyes. “Hey no, don’t say that. We were meant to have a family Y/n, biological or not.” Nat takes a pause to brush some hair out of your face.
“Let’s try one more time, okay? And if that doesn’t work then we can look into other options.” She continues and you think for a moment, not knowing if you could go through the hope and pain again. “Okay.” You whisper softly and Nat nods her head. “Okay.” She echos you before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead, pulling you back in for a hug.
————
Nat’s leg is bouncing up and down as she watches the timer tick down, only ten more seconds before you can check. This is the last try, all or nothing. You’re too anxious to pace this time, instead opting to sit next to Natasha and leaning into her as you watch her leg bounce. “You know..whatever happens, I love you.” Nat says softly when she sees you blankly stare at her knee, lost in thought about what’s going to happen. “I love you too.” You reply equally as soft as you look up at your wife, grabbing her hand and intertwining them slowly.
Leaning into each other, you both share a soft kiss, love shining through the small interaction. You both only pull away when the timer dings, Natasha rubbing your back as you sigh and get up. It feels like time slows down as you walk towards the sink, heart pounding in your chest as you reach out to grab the test. The bathroom is silent as you pick it up and flip it over, looking at the little window for the results. You’re silent as you look at the results, body frozen in place as you stare at the test. Natasha’s brows furrow and she gets up, sighing as she rubs her temples.
“Baby I’m so sorry-” “It’s positive.” You interrupt Nat midway through her sentence, your voice in disbelief as you see those two pink lines. “What?” Natasha asks, unsure if she heard you right. “It’s positive.” You repeat as you turn to face her, pregnancy test in hand as you smile from ear to ear. “You’re pregnant?” Natasha asks, almost in disbelief as she stares at you. “I’m pregnant.” You nod your head and Natasha immediately sweeps you up in her arms, hugging you right and picking you up from the ground. “Holy shit! We’re gonna have a baby!” Nat laughs as she spins you around, joyful giggles falling from your lips as you cling onto your wife.
“Oh my god we’re gonna have a baby.” Nat breathes out as she comes to a stop, quickly putting you down once the realization hits her brain. “Shit, you’re pregnant we need to be careful.” She says and you only laugh, pulling her down a bit to kiss her. “You don’t need to be that a careful dummy, but yes..I’m pregnant.”
————
“Tony gave us an iron man onesie.” You laugh as you hold up the tiny piece of clothing, Natasha grinning as she watches you. Even though the announcement was made a week ago, the gifts have been steadily pouring in, Tony insisting that he pays for the majority of the things that are needed for the new arrival.
He paid for the crib, the high chair, the car seat, most of the nursery, and all the bottles and toys a newborn could ask for. Pepper had a huge part in it too, having experience since bringing Morgan into the world. “That man is self centered.” Natasha laughs as she walks over to where you’re sitting, her heart full of love as she kneels down next to you.
“Mmhm.” You hum in agreement as you fold the article of clothing away, Natasha handing you the next gift. You’re about sixteen weeks along and you’re already showing, a small baby bump forming from your midsection. You both decided to wait until the second trimester to tell the rest of the team, wanting to enjoy the first few months in peace.
Natasha watches you wordlessly as you open a gift from Steve, a smile tugging on her lips as she sees the captain america pacifier. “I love you so much.” She blurts out randomly and your head turns to face her, a smile on your face as you gently kiss her.
“You’ve gone soft Romanoff.” You tease and she only laughs, gently kissing you again. “I blame you, you’ve made me domestic.” She grins and you roll your eyes, placing the gift to the side.
————
As the pregnancy goes along, you start to notice Natasha’s lack of touch, the redhead only going as far as running her hands through your hair or holding your shoulders. You have no idea what has gotten into her and you're determined to investigate, missing the way Natasha used to spoon and cuddle you all day.
Your questions were finally answered when one day you and Natasha were watching TV in bed, the redhead's arm slung around your shoulder as you lean into her. When the commercial break finally came on, you turned your head to look at your wife, curiosity written all over your face. "Why don't you cuddle me anymore, Nat?" You ask softly and she looks at you with confusion, lowering down the volume on the TV. "What do you mean? I cuddle you all the time baby." She says and you shake your head, reaching up and gently toying with her hair.
"Ever since I've gotten pregnant you've treated me like I could break at any moment, what are you so afraid of?" You question and Natasha sighs, glancing at her lap for a moment before answering. "With these hands I've done some awful things Y/n..things too horrific to say out loud. I feel like if I touch you or the baby I'll just ruin it, or hurt you..like everything else in my life." Nat confesses softly and your heart melts at how scared your wife is, knowing how much she's struggled with her past and with the red in her ledger. "Natasha Romanoff." You whisper, gently grabbing her hands to put them in between the two of you. "You are the kindest," You start, gently kissing her knuckle. "Most caring." another kiss, "Most selfless" another kiss, "Person I've ever met" another kiss. "And I know, with my whole heart and soul, you would never do anything to hurt me or the baby." You look up at her and gently rub your knuckles over the back of her hands. "So please stop acting like you will. These are the hands that I love, the hands that will raise our child, they're strong and secure, so stop thinking otherwise." You finish as you wordlessly move both your hands towards your belly, gently placing Natasha's hands over the bump.
The redhead is stunned as your hands rest over hers, the baby suddenly kicking. A wide smile spreads across your face as you both look down at your belly, the baby never having kicked before. "That was the first time they've ever kicked." You inform Natasha and you could see her still processing that fact. "That's our baby?" She asks softly and you laugh, nodding your head. "Mmhm, that's our baby. They recognized their mama." You say fondly as the baby kicks again, Natasha's heart bursting with warmth as she looks at you.
Slowly, Natasha moves to lay down on the bed, resting her head right beside your bump and holding it gently. "Hi malen'kiy golub'." She whispers softly, your hand coming down to gently play with her hair. You smile as you watch Natasha gently cuddle with your bump, knowing without a doubt that she's going to be a great mother.
-----
Placing the stuffed animals down on the table, you turn to look at Natasha, a giggle coming from your lips as you walk over to her. "What?" Nat grins as she turns to face you, putting the paintbrush down to the side.
"You're a mess." You laugh as you rub some pastel green paint from her cheek, both of you deciding that the nursery would be painted a light grey with a pastel green accent wall. "I'm still hot though." She teases and you only roll your eyes, cupping her face as you gently kiss her.
"Yeah yeah you're always hot." You laugh and Natasha looks around the room, grinning at the stack of Avenger's themed stuffed animals your team gave you. "They're all trying to be known as the cool uncle aren't they?" She asks softly and you nod your head, knowing that whatever Avenger your child takes after will forever have that bragging right.
"Let them have their fun, they're happy for us." You smile and Nat only sighs, shaking her head with a small smile on her face.
-----
You feel like Natasha was more anxious than you when you went into labour, your water breaking in the middle of the night. There wasn't any dramatic screaming or freaking out, you just calmly pushed the sheet back and let out a soft "huh" as you saw the damp bedsheets.
"Oh, okay we're doing this." You say before turning on the light, acting like it was any other day as you gently shake Natasha awake. "Nat, baby wake up." You whisper softly as Natasha stirs, squinting at the light once her eyes opened. "Y/n? What's wrong?" Nat mumbles sleepily as she rubs the sleep from her eyes, seeing you in a sitting up position.
"My water broke." You say and it takes a second for the words to process in Natasha's brain, the redhead suddenly sitting up and fully awake. "What? Okay okay it's happening. It's happening." Nat says as she pushes the sheets off herself, her mind immediately going to all the books she's read over the past nine months. You've already packed your hospital bags a few weeks in advance so you aren't too stressed about it, only needing to change and grab a few extra things. Natasha, on the other hand, is working on full overdrive, pulling on sweatpants and making sure everything is in order.
"Natasha, baby." You say as you gently grab her arm, needing your wife to slow down if you're going to survive the next few days. "You need to calm down my love." You say softly as you hold onto her shoulders, making the redhead look at you and take a few deep breaths. "Okay..okay. I'm sorry. I'm just nervous." Natasha admits and you nod your head, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"It's okay to be nervous Nat, you just need so slow down. We haven't even gotten to the hospital yet." You laugh softly and she nods her head, waiting a few more moments before stepping back slowly. "Okay, let's have a baby."
---
Your head is resting back against Natasha's shoulder as she acts like a backrest to you, allowing you to grip onto her hand when your contractions hit. Nat has been nothing but supportive the entire time, humming reassuring words into your ear as the pain washes over your body.
"Fuck." You whimper once another round of contractions end, Natasha's hand coming up to gently push back the sweaty hairs sticking to your forehead. "You're doing amazing baby, I'm so proud of you." She hums and you sigh, closing your eyes as you feel your wife rub your back. It's quiet as you feel Natasha's hands move down to your bump, rubbing your stomach softly as she sighs.
"Come on malen'kiy golub, your mommies are so excited to meet you." Nat coos and you smile into her neck, warmth flooding your chest as you listen to her. "And I know all of your aunties and uncles are excited to meet you too. We're so excited to hug you, and kiss you, and watch you grow." She hums as she rubs small circles on your belly.
"So please come out before your mommy kills me." Both of you laugh and you snuggle more into Natasha's embrace. "You're going to be an amazing mom." You whisper and Nat grins, looking at you with a quirked eyebrow. "Yeah?" She asks and you nod your head. "Yeah..I couldn't have asked for a more amazing wife, best friend, and now..a mother to our daughter." You hum and Nat blushes, kissing you gently.
----
Your eyebrows furrow as you grip onto Natasha’s hand, pain coursing through your body as you deliver the baby. “You’re doing amazing y/n, almost there.” Nat says as you practically crush her hand, hiding the pain in her face as she watches you. "Congratulations, it's a healthy baby girl." The doctor announces as the baby's cries fill the room, your chest heaving as you lay back. Nat cuts the umbilical cord ("I've seen worst in Budapest") and they place the baby on your chest, draping a blanket over the two of you to keep you warm.
"Hi baby." You coo as you hold your child close to your chest, Natasha standing next to you with unshed tears in her eyes. You look up at her and sniffle (you're crying so hard at this point) as you see the look of awe on her face, smiling as you gently reach out to grab her hand. Softly placing her hand atop of the baby's blanketed back, she slowly moves her thumb, the child's cries quieting at both of her mother's touch. Nat is speechless as she watches the tiny newborn cling onto your chest, loving the warmth radiating off of your body.
"She's a boob man, just like her mama." Nat whispers and you laugh, that being the first thing that comes to her mind. Your child's hand slowly comes up and wraps her fingers around Natasha's thumb, that being the breaking point for the tears as they finally fall down her cheek.
----
"Are you gonna hold her or are you just going to stare at me?" You ask as Natasha watches you and Mila sit on the bed, the two of you now alone with your child. Natasha looks hesitant as she walks over to you, never feeling so nervous as you look up at her.
"You aren't going to break her Nat." You say and Nat's eyebrows furrow, seeing the tiny infant look up at her with Y/c/e. The baby took from both you and Natasha, having scarlet red hair from her and beautiful y/c/e from you. "I just don't know..I mean what if I drop her? What if I do something wrong?" Nat worries her bottom lip between her teeth and you only beckon her to come closer, scooting over so she can sit on the hospital bed.
"You won't Nat, I promise." You reassure her and she slowly sits down on the bed, following your instructions as she places her hands out. Gently transferring the baby into her arms, you smile as Mila looks up at her mama, letting out a soft "gah". "See? She loves you already." You hum as you rub Mila's hair gently, seeing the love on Natasha's face. "Hi Mila." Nat breathes out as you rest your head on her shoulder, watching your wife interact with the baby. The tears return to Natasha's eyes as the newborn looks up at her, her emotions going everywhere as she processes that this is her child, her little bundle of joy that she gets the privilege of sharing with you. "Thank you." Nat whispers out as she looks at you, a smile on her face as she sniffles.
"For what?" You question and she only kisses you softly, smile still on her face as she pulls away. "For giving me another reason to live for." She whispers and her statement covers a wide range, thank you for being her wife, thank you for giving her a chance, thank you for her daughter, thank you for giving her the family she's always wanted, just thank you.
----
Mila's cries ring out through your room and pierce your eardrums, rousing you and Nat from your slumber.
"Mm, I've got it." You sleepily mumble out of instinct as you start to get up, now used to getting woken up in the dead of night.
Mila still doesn't have a sleep schedule since she's a newborn so sometime's she'll sleep for a few hours and other times only for ten minutes.
This time around though, you get gently pushed back onto the bed by Natasha, feeling a comforting kiss placed on your temple as your wife gets up. "I've got it, moya lyubov'." She whispers and you don't have enough energy to resist, watching as Nat walks over to the bassinet. "Hi malen'kiy golub, you have a healthy set of lungs don't you?" Nat mumbles sleepily as she pulls the newborn from the crib, cradling the baby to her chest and gently rocking her back and forth. "Yeah I know, it's okay baby. It's okay, mama's got you." She hums as the baby's cries slowly die down, you still sitting on the bed as you watch your wife in awe. "Your mommies need their sleep huh little one, that sounds nice doesn't it." Nat yawns and you cant help but smile.
"But don't worry, every time you wake up we'll be here okay? We'll love you and hug you each time you cry. And I'm gonna protect you, malen'kiy golub. I won't let anything happen to you or your mommy, I promise." Natasha coos as she continues to rock Mila, not noticing how you're wide awake now. It's a soft, quiet vow, spoken in the dead of night, that Natasha will protect her family with everything she has in her..and it makes you fall more in love with her, if that's even possible.
Getting up, you make your way over to your wife, gently placing your hands on her shoulders to notify her of your presence. She knew you were coming as soon as she heard the bedsheets rustle, even in her tired state she was looking out for the two of you. "Hi." Nat greets you softly and you only hum, a tired smile on your face as you rest your head on her shoulder. Your hand comes up and is gently placed on Mila's back, rubbing soft circles on her onesie. Natasha's heart swells as she looks at her small family, smiling when you kiss her cheek. "I love you." You whisper before looking down at your daughter. "And I love you too." You hum, gently kissing her fiery red hair. Nat kisses your temple gently and closes her eyes, finally at peace with her daughter in her arms and you at her side.

hi! i love your blog! i was wondering if maybe you could write something where y/n and harry just had their first baby and they finally get some time to themselves and she's a little insecure about their first time after the post partum and nervous about her body or how it gonna feels like? thank uu💖
omg thank you 🥺🥺 I'm so sorry this took so long! i hope you like it :)
a very romantic bath for two
warnings: body insecurity, body image issues
word count: 2.8k
You sighed as you inspected your body in the mirror, running your fingers over the raised lines on your tummy and hips. Many of them were new; they had popped up sometime during your second trimester. At the time, you had been too busy worrying about the new life growing inside you and preparing to bring her home to focus too much on what was happening to your body. Even during the last few weeks of your pregnancy when you felt huge most of the time, Harry made sure to remind you constantly how much he loved you and your new body. He would rub your belly all the time, leaning down to kiss it and talk to your baby. He insisted it would help them develop faster once they were born, but you weren't quite sure where he got this "fact". You both knew he just liked being close to you and your baby.
He really hadn't left any room for you to be insecure during your pregnancy. He reassured you every day that you were more beautiful than ever, and he was always showing you how much he liked your new body. He could never keep his hands off you, always wanting to touch and hold you. It even got annoying at times, but mostly you appreciated it, and you were glad he never let your hormones get the best of you. Then, after Stevie was born, you were too busy and exhausted to even think about your appearance. You and harry were barely getting any sleep, and all of your time was devoted to caring for the newest member of your family. It wasn't until now, when Stevie was a little over 3 months old, that things started calming down a bit. She slept through the night most of the time, and you were finally coming out of that sleep deprived haze you had been in. Unfortunately, this gave you time to really look at yourself in the mirror. You had just gotten out of the shower, and Harry was with Stevie in the living room. You tilted to the side, looking at how much bigger your stomach was than before you had Stevie. The skin there was dimpled and soft, much more squishy than it used to be. And the stretch marks. They were everywhere, and much more prominent than they had ever been. You weren't sure if you would ever be able to get back to normal. Your negative thoughts were interrupted by a short knock on the door. You quickly wrapped a towel around yourself before you called, "You can come in!" Harry peaked his head into the room, smiling softly. "Sorry to bother you, but I'm out of wipes. I think there's another pack under the sink?" "No, it's okay, i was done," you smiled, reaching under the sink to grab the package. "Is she okay?" "She's fine, lovie," he smiled softly. "You don't have to feel bad being away for her for half an hour." "I know," you sighed. "But i still do. I hate not being next to her all the time." "Me too, i just want to hold her and never put her down." You nodded, sighing internally at how much you already missed your baby. "Why don't you finish up in here and then we'll make some lunch?" "Sounds good," you said, smiling at him in the mirror. Once the door was closed, you dropped the towel again. You really tried not to be too upset about how you looked, but it was hard. You knew if you told Harry he would just say the same thing, that it was normal and he thought you were beautiful. You didn't think that would help much. So you pulled on your old t-shirt and sweatpants, running a brush through your wet hair before making your way out to the kitchen. "Hi, baby," you smiled, picking Stevie up from the play mat on the floor. "I missed you." She snuggled against your chest, her head leaning on your shoulder as she let out a content little sigh. You leaned down, grabbing Stevie's rattle and putting it back in the toy box before you made your way into the kitchen. "How does spaghetti sound?" Harry asked. "Sounds good," you nodded, settling into one of the chairs at the dining table. you were about to pull off your shirt to feed Stevie, but the image of your prominent stretch marks made you reconsider. "Can you grab me one of the blankets?" You asked, but kept your eyes on Stevie. You knew if you looked up, you would see that sad and confused look on his face as he wondered why you suddenly wanted to cover yourself around him, and you really didn't feel like explaining your newfound insecurities right now. Thankfully, he didn't press for answers. "Sure, love. It's in the nursery?" You nodded, fiddling with the collar of Stevie's onesie to look busy. "Okay, I'll be right back," He gave a small smile before he left the kitchen. "What am i gonna do, hm?" You asked Stevie. She just blinked in response. Harry came back with the blanket, draping it over your shoulders from the front. "Thank you," you said quietly, adjusting the cover so you could pull your shirt up. "Of course, love," he replied, going back to the stove. "I wanted to ask you something, actually." You
hummed questioningly, eyes fixed on Stevie under the blanket. "Well, we just haven't had any time alone since Stevie was born, and my mum is dying to spend some more time with her, so do you think... I mean, only if it's okay with you, maybe we could have my mum take her for the weekend?" You hesitated, your heart suddenly beating much faster. Being away from Stevie for more than a day... of course you knew she would be safe and happy with Anne, but still... the thought made anxiety spike in your chest. Then there was the matter of being alone with Harry. You probably should feel guilty for not wanting to spend time with him, but with the way you had been feeling about yourself lately, you couldn't bring yourself to care. But you also knew refusing this would cause all sorts of problems. It would make both Harry and Anne feel bad, and you really didn't want to upset anyone. So, taking a shaky breath in, you nodded. "We can do that. I just... i don't think I can do more than a day or two." "That's totally fine," Harry reassured you. "I don't want to be away from her for that long either. I was thinking we could drop her off Friday after lunch, then pick her up Saturday evening. Or sometime Sunday if they're really having a good time," he laughed. "They'll have all sorts of fun together, mum might not want to let her go so soon." You smiled at the thought of the pictures you knew Anne would send you. Stevie and her in the garden, Stevie in the stroller as they went for a walk, Stevie in the high chair while Anne baked cookies. "Okay. After supper we can get her stuff together." Harry beamed, coming over to kiss your forehead. "Thank you, baby. And if it gets to be too much, we can pick her up early. We can do whatever you need, okay?" Despite Harry's constant reassurance, you felt no less anxious the next day. You checked and re-checked Stevie's bag, making sure she had enough clothes to last her a week. "Lovie, she's only gonna be there for two days," Harry reminded you gently. "No, I know, but what if she spits up a lot? Sometimes she spits up a whole bunch and then she'll need to be changed, and what if-" "Hey, hey," he cut you off, placing his hands on your shoulders and speaking in a soothing tone. "It'll be alright. She's gonna be fine. She has enough clothes, and everything is gonna be okay." You nodded, taking a deep breath as you looked into his eyes. "Right. She's gonna be fine."
-----
"And the milk is here-" you held up several plastic bags- "I'll put this in the fridge. And to heat it up- wait, you already know how to heat up milk," you laughed nervously. "Um, and her onesies are all in the backpack. I have extras in there- a lot of extras, because sometimes she spits up a lot. And then her diffuser is in there too- we usually put a few drops of lavender oil in there, it helps her sleep. And diapers and wipes and diaper cream are all in the bag, and... oh! Her stuffed bunny. It helps her calm down if she's fussy. And I think... that should be everything," You exhaled, trying to smile at Anne. Harry put his arm around your waist. "Y/N, she knows how to take care of a baby. Look how well i turned out!" Despite how nervous you were, you managed to laugh. "Right. I'm just... I'm sorry, I've never been away from her." "It's alright," Anne smiled reassuringly. "I understand how scary it is to be away from her for the first time. But you can call or FaceTime, or if it's too much you can come pick her up." "Thank you," you sighed. "We should probably get going before i change my mind." Harry nodded, unbuckling Stevie from her carrier. He hugged her to his chest, kissing the top of her head. "I'll miss you so much," he said. "But you'll have so much fun with your grandma. And we'll see you soon, okay?" he kissed her one more time before handing her over to you. "Be good for your grandma, okay? I love you," you kissed her just like Harry had. "I love you so much." Before you could start crying, you handed her to Anne. "Thank you so much for this, Anne," you said. "We really appreciate it." "You're a godsend," harry agreed. "Thank you." "Of course, I'm happy to have her," Anne smiled. "Now shoo, so i can spend some time with her!"
-----
"It's so quiet," Harry said as you walked into the house. "I'm not used to it." "I know," You laughed. "There's no cartoons or baby shark, it's crazy." "Can't say I miss baby shark, though," he shook his head. "I think we need to find a new song for her." You nodded. "It got old really fast." "It did," he laughed. "And now... we can enjoy some peace... and quiet." He stepped closer to you, smiling as he heard your breath hitch. "I was thinking maybe we could have a bath together?" Your heart started thudding faster in your chest, and not for a good reason. "No," you said quickly. Too quickly. Hurt and confusion flashed across his face, and you immediately wanted to take back your words. "I just- I can't," you said quietly, stepping back. "Is there... did something happen?" he asked gently, eyes softening when he realized how close to tears you were. "What's the matter, love?" "Harry, I just can't," you shook your head as tears welled up in your eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm trying but I just can't get back to normal. I look terrible and I have all these stretch marks and everything is just wrong," you cried, bringing up your hands to cover your face. "Baby..." he whispered, moving closer and opening his arms. "Come here." You did as he asked, walking into his arms and leaning against him as you cried. "I just don't want you to see me," you sniffled. "Your body isn't wrong," he shook his head. "Not at all. It might look different than it did before, but that's because it went through something amazing. It gave us Stevie! It- you are perfect. Alright?" You nodded against his chest. "I just... i really don't like the way i look anymore and i don't think you will either." Since your face was pressed against his shirt, you didn't see the way his face dropped. You didn't see how much it hurt him to hear you talk about yourself this way. You felt him inhale a shaky breath before he hugged you tighter. "I'm so sorry you feel this way. I had no idea how much it was bothering you. I want- I want to show you how much I love you. Will you let me show you?" "How?" you said quietly. "Do you trust me?" You hesitated for only a moment before nodding. He smiled, pulling back and taking your hand. He lead you into your bedroom, closing the door behind the two of you. He crossed the room to stand in front of you again, his fingers gripping the hem of your shirt. "Can i take this off?" he asked quietly, keeping his eyes on yours. He must have sensed your hesitancy, because he dropped his hands down to his sides. "It's just me," he reminded you. "We don't have to if you don't want to, though." "No, it's... it's okay," You decided, raising your arms. He smiled gently, tugging the soft material up and over your head. You kept your eyes on him as soon as the shirt was off your head, too apprehensive to look down at your body. "You're so beautiful," he whispered. He hooked his fingers in the elastic of your sweatpants, looking at you again for confirmation. You nodded, allowing him to pull the rest of the clothing off your body and taking his hand to step out of them. He lead you over to the bed, keeping his eyes on yours the whole way. "Lay back," he instructed quietly, watching as you did what he said. He climbed into the bed behind you, settling himself between your legs to meet your eyes. "You're amazing," he smiled. "The most beautiful woman I've ever seen." he brought his hand down to your stomach, and you cringed immediately when he brushed over one of the marks. "It's okay," he soothed. "There's nothing wrong with these. You know what they are?" You shook your head. "They're little marks that remind us of Stevie. They show how strong you are for carrying her, and keeping her safe until she was ready to come out and meet us. And they show how someday, you'll be able to have another baby, and keep him or her safe just like Stevie. Right? That's all they are." He moved down, leaning his head closer so he could press a soft kiss to one of the marks near your hip. "I don't want you to change anything
about yourself," he said, moving his lips over the lines on your tummy. "I love you just the way you are." Tears were welling up in your eyes again, but this time they weren't from anxiety or fear. This time, they were because you felt overwhelmed by your love for him. "Harry..." He looked up, his face falling when he noticed the tears in your eyes. "No, please don't cry," he said, moving back up to hover over you again. "I'm sorry, please don't be upset," he frowned, wiping one of the tears away with his thumb. You shook your head. "That's not why- i just love you so much," you said, trying your best to smile. "I love you too," he smiled back, leaning down to kiss your forehead, then your nose, then your cheeks, and finally, your lips. "I love you so, so much, and I will show you every day if you'll let me," he sighed, moving off you to lay on his side. He kept one hand on your hip, helping you turn over to look at him. "I want you to tell me if you're ever feeling like this again, okay? I want to know so I can help you." "Okay," you nodded, still sniffling a bit. "Thank you." You leaned against him, tucking your head in his neck. "Thank you." "Of course, lovie." He wrapped his arms around you, kissing the top of your head. "I want you to always know how loved you are. It doesn't matter how many times I have to remind you; i don't ever want you to feel like this and not tell me. I love you way too much to let you be this sad." "I will," you promised. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." "it's okay," he soothed, running his hand up and down your back. "Do you think... it's okay if you're not ready yet, but do you think we could try taking a bath?" This time, you barely even hesitated before answering. "I think we can try," you nodded. "We can even turn off the lights if you want, just light a few candles," he mused, his face pressed gently against your hair. "It's more romantic that way anyways." "That sounds good," you laughed. "Come on then," he said, sitting up. "One very romantic bath for two, coming right up."

“Stop laughing at me!!!”  Y/n exclaimed in mock anger before bursting out laughing, knowing she did look pretty ridiculous.
“I can’t help it you just…. You look like an elephant!” Tom cackled from his reclined position lying on the couch, whilst his 8 month pregnant fiancé struggled to get up from her seated position on the floor - where she had spent the last half an hour wrapping presents for her nephews birthday.
“You know a supportive soon to be father would’ve helped me up!” Replying with a scowl that didn’t last long, Y/n finally standing up took the three steps to the couch before uncerimoniously collapsing into it.
Grinning with this absolute sparkle in his eye, Tom leant forward and slid up to Y/n to pull her into his side. His hand came to rest upon her massive bump - at this point it was almost a rule that if he were touching Y/n he also had to be touching the bump. Tom claimed it to be skin to skin contact and although Y/n were pretty sure that didn’t come into effect until after the baby was born, she wasn’t complaining either.
“It’s a shame your stuck with me then huh?” He murmured into the top of Y/n’s head, pressing a kiss to the crown of her head while tracing meaningless patterns on her shirt over the bump. Tom was beyond excited to become a Dad, family had always meant everything to him growing up (and now). There was nothing he wanted more , therefore, to call them a family of three - or more accurately four, not forgetting Tess of course.
“Oh how I regret ever taking up that extra shift at the club” She mused sarcastically, enjoying how he feigned offence in return.
The way the two had met was so incredibly cliche that it was almost painful, whenever anyone asked how they met she always winced internally. But it was their truth, Y/n had been a caddy at the golf course Tom frequented with his brothers. The nature of his ‘reputation’ meant the caddies always had to sign NDA’s to be paired with Tom’s group and the chosen few were those personally recommended by the golf course. She’d always stuck out to him, mainly because she seemed to be biting her tongue as they worked their way round the course. Caddies, also by job description, were not to speak unless spoken to; to be polite and courteous but not chatty. So, given how professioial she was, had taken some convincing for Tom to drag it out why she looked in physical pain whenever they played the 13th hole.
~~
“Look somethings on your mind I can tell! If you hate me I can arrange another caddy I just -“ He followed her march to back from the hole toward the little buggy, ahead of his brothers and Dad who were making small talk from behind.
“FINE! Okay fine.” Reaching the end of her tether, Y/n snapped, whipping her body round to face him. “It’s your grip! On this hole especially you always play the driver with you pinky too far down the shaft, it’s why you always end up in the bunker on the 13th! It’s bloody infuriating because them I’m the one that has to clean the buggy you’ve trampled sand into!”
“Oh…. I-I … I wasn’t expecting that” Tom had spoken quietly, in an unfamiliar tone to Y/n. Over hours she’d spent on the course with them over the months, Y/n had gotten used to his storytelling voice when recounting an insane experience to his family that he’d had in the world of Hollywood; his grumpy voice when he played badly, which was often; and then his gloating voice - most definitely the worst and intolerable. This voice though, was different.
“I-I’m so sorry I have no right, I just-“ She’d out her foot in it …. badly. The young actor was one of the most clubs most prestigious and valued members; and she’d just insulted him. Clearly, she was also about to be in search of another job.
“No no I appreciate your tip… I didn’t even realise you play?” His gracious smile calmed her nerves a little, though Y/n still wrung her hands together as she replied.
“Well we aren’t supposed to talk about it but the club let us employees loose after hours… I practice quite a bit”
“Seeing as you think my game is so shitty, you fancy a round next time?”
~~
Flash forward 3 and half years and a proposal, they were now taking their next massive leaps in the world together. Bringing a whole new life into it. It was bloody terrifying, they both openly admitted. But it was also exciting, new, incredible and… and made them even closer. Now they had to be in each others lives forever, no escaping.
“How many days left?” Craning her neck back on his shoulder so Y/n could meet his brown eyes, she knew the answer would be immediate.
“15 till the due date and the app said they’re the size of a rhubarb but I don’t really know what that means.” He knew more about the pregnancy and birth than she did. He had about a dozen different apps on his phone (including one pointlessly comparing the size of the baby to carrots/ watermelons/ onions), had read 4 different books (which for Tom was the equivalent to reading Newton’s book ‘philisphica Mathematica’.)
Ever since she’d told him about the pregnancy Tom had excelled every expectation Y/n had of him… massively. Without even having a conversation surrounding it, he had explicitly cancelled all major work commitments within 2 months of the due date and until around a year after. He had flown back and fourth across the world so he could pop in and check on you. He’d also set his whole family on becoming your minders when he was away - Y/n wouldn’t have been able to go a day avoiding a Holland (or Osterfield) if she had tried.
The pregnancy thus far hadn’t been the easiest though, hence why Y/n still appreciated to constant worrying texts and calls. During the first trimester the morning sickness had been literal hell; and then you’d had a little bit of a scare with pre-eclampsia during the second. It landed you a 3 day stay in hospital and a very very panicked Tom rushing back from New York on the first possible flight.
So now? Y/n wanted the baby out. She wanted family life as parents. (At which point hopefully Tom would stop comparing the size of your child to an assortment of different fruit and veg)
“You know, you really are going to be the best dad in the world Thomas Stanely Holland.”
“And you Y/f/n y/m/n y/l/n are already a pretty impressive mum.”
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It was 3 o’clock the next morning when Y/n awoke with a sudden groan instinctively rubbing her stomach in an attempt to get them easing up. Now too familiar with Braxton-Hicks contractions, the weird cramping that waxes and wanes but never letting her get any rest - Y/n knew she was in for a long night. With a muted sigh she carefully lifted Tom’s arm off her side, cautious not to disturb him. The poor boy had been up most nights with her, just because baby wasn’t letting her sleep, it didn’t mean Tom wasn’t deserving of rest either.
So making furtive movements at a snails pace, she attempted to tip toe out the room - yet as Tom had pointed out before, she looked almost like an elephant, so everything was relative. Surprisingly though, she was successful, escaping onto the soft cream carpet of their hallway before choosing to venture into the room opposite theirs. It had once been a spare room, though more correctly termed the ‘shit room’ because that’s where all the accumulated shit they got was thrown. Now however, Tom and his brothers had taken on the mammoth task of clearing it out and redecorating - creating the most beautiful nursery one could ever see. Complete with a rocking chair which Y/n made a beeline for, now allowing herself to audible groan at the tight sensation deep inside her.
Normally they would ease after a half an hour or so, yet this time, after what was surely more like an hour and a half they started to…. ramp up. What was a tight pressure sensation quickly became one more forceful volatile and full of pain. She put it off for about 3 or 4 cycles of these, pursing her lips and breathing deeply as she tried to convince herself they’d just simply fizzle away. This couldn’t be the real thing could it? It was too soon - as Tom had said she wasn’t due for another 15 days. It wasn’t happening… was it?
The answer was pretty comprehensively and cohesively given when Y/n tried to stand up, in the hope of walking the ache off, she felt an incredibly tight crunch as her insides seemed to wring themselves together. Oh … and a surge of water soaked her pyjama bottoms.
“Fuckfuckfuckfuck FUCKKKK TOMMMM!! TOM-ah shit-  MY WATERS!!! TOOOMMMM”The pain had amped up to a very very impressive levels, forcing Y/n to clutch her sides as she kept bending and straightening back up… as if that would help. Her lonesome agony didn’t last long though, a flustered Tom hurtled in the room - his hair sticking up all over the place and although his eyes were puffy from sleep he still had them glued open impressively wide.
“No its-its too- its too early!” In pure disbelief, Tom shook his head staring across at her face, contorted in pain.
“Yeh because-“ She gulped and exhaled in as much of a controlled manner she could through pursed lips; before answering his stupid statement. “Because I can just HOLD IT IN FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS SHALL I?” It took a while for Tom to process, looking down at the puddle of clear fluid on the floor and damp patch on her plaid bottoms while it was Y/n’s turn to look upon his it utter disbelief at his stupidity.
“Oh shit shitshitshitshitshitshit!!!!” His words grew with increased volume and place whilst he stayed frozen, his arms reaching out lightly toward Y/n without touching her though. “What do we do?!”
He of course had revised repeatedly and extensively what he was supposed to do when this happened - yet in the moment all knowledge and planning evaporated from his mind. Now wasn’t the time for taking the mick of her terrified fiancé though, Y/n was too blinded by pain as she leaned on the dresser.
“Get the-ah FUCKING hell - phone we need to time them and phone the … the-MIDWIFE.” It was hard to direct a frantic and terrified man when one feels as though her insides are collapsing in on themselves.
Tom gulped, nodding shakily, whilst trying to take deep breaths because although he was fucking terrified it wasn’t him that was giving birth. He had to step up now.
It took barely 10 minutes from the midwife picking up to a frantic Tom for her to assess that they needed to get into the hospital asap. During the pregnancy, all of Tom’s rich friends had recommended paying for a private hospital like the ‘Portland hospital’. The idea was it was a much more luxurious and private experience - of course coming with a heavy price tag. For Tom money was not an issue, so he’d suggested to Y/n and met the strongest rejection of all his life. The NHS was by far the only choice in Y/n’s mind - of course it busier, a lot less serene and not as private; but if god forbid something did happen, that was where all the experts and resources were. The idea of being able to pay for better access to healthcare actually repulsed Y/n and everything she stood for… so in short Tom was met with a very blunt refusal.
Once they arrived on the ward, all it took was one look at Y/n’s inflated belly and the way her body was squirming in the wheelchair Tom was pushing, whilst laden with the baby bags they’d had packed and prepared for weeks, for the pair to be rushed into a side room. After an intense 20 minutes of getting Y/n settled, getting her full medical history and inspection of her vagina the hmidwife’s head popped up from between her legs with a kind smile. She explained in a calming and gentle tone that Y/n was 5 cms dilated and had got to that point fast, yet now things looked to be slowing down a bit. With final words of advice of try to relax she left the pair to it.
They both looked at each other, a matching expression of confusion and relative terror blatantly clear in both their eyes. It had them both burst out laughing, if Y/n then scowled at the pain that shot through her side.
“This is really happening huh?” Tom murmured as he rounded the bed to gently run his hands through her sticky hair.
“I don’t know unless you really do want me to postpone their arrival for a short while?” Tom rolled his eyes and shook his head, although not really able to surpress the chuckle at his finances humour - even if it was at his expense.
“Glad to see you can still be as sarcastic as ever.” He laughed but before she could reply another wave of contractions hit making her instead just scream - grabbing his hand so tightly Tom was certain a bone or two were crushed in the process.
It was another hour or two of the same traumatic sight of watching the women he loved more than anything in the world be in such extreme pain. God knows how his appreciate for his mother grew in that moment - she had had four kids overall, two of them twins! Tom dared to think of the scenes in that room of twin brothers birth. Having to deal with both Sam and Harrys large heads…
Harrison had arrived in the meantime, he was to be the child’s godfather and Y/n was more than happy to have him there - even if it was more of a support to Tom than Y/n. Quite expectantly though, he was just as terrified and useless as Tom - so instead of having one idiot to deal with, the midwives now had double trouble of terrified men.
And yet after another 1 hour or so Y/n was being told to make one final push. Baring down on the gas and air tube, Y/n squeezed her eyes shut together whilst simultaneously contracting every muscle in her body with what little energy she had left. Hearing Tom and Harrisons words of encouragement; the midwifes orders and her own long and continuous scream, Y/n pushed with all she had. It was excruciating and torturous yet she kept going until the most beautiful sound was the only thing left reverberating round the room.
Her babies cry.
Tom looked at the scene in awe, feeling an almost out of body experience as the midwife unfolded from her position leant over the bed looking up to Tom.
“Do you want to cut the cord Dad?” Releasing a breathy laugh, tears collecting in his eyes he looked down at Y/n. She looked a mess - hair flying all over the place; sweaty sheen and a ruined look on her face; panting hard as she caught her breath. But to Tom? Never had he seen her look more beautiful, especially when she managed a small smile, nodding encouragingly at him. So he moved round to the end of the bed as the nurse motioned, while Harrison squeezed Y/n’s shoulder with the proudest look on his face.
It was the first time Tom had ever seen his child. And really, seeing a wrinkly little pink thing covered in all sorts of gunge - it shouldn’t be such a magical moment. But here he was, a single tear escaping over his lower lashes at the sight of them wriggling about. The midwife gave him a second, before gently handing him the medical scissors and directing him as to what to do. Once done, the lady announced the room it was a beautiful baby girl.
The next hour or so was a bit of a blur, the whole situation felt extremely surreal to everyone - but perhaps most to Y/n. Although the baby was premature the doctors had checked and were confident was perfectly healthy, so after both Y/n and Tom having their turn holding her (Tom finally got his real skin to skin time) they brought in a little incubator where she could rest while Y/n was recovering. Due to her prematurity, as a safety net, the doctors did want to keep the baby girl in overnight for observation, which meant the whole party would be staying too.
Y/n loved nothing more than watching Tom and Haz with their baby. The way they delicately cradled her in their strong arms and the way their eyes softened so inexplicably. Y/n swore that had she not just pushed a watermelon sized human out her vagina, the way Tom looked while holding their daughter would make her pregnant all over again.
“I still can’t believe you two created a real life human.” Harrison mused while standing with the baby girl in his arms, shifting his weight from foot to foot as he watched her sleep soundly.
“To be fair it was mainly Y/n” Tom laughed as he squeezed Y/n’s hand (wincing internally as it hurt his already injured hand - Y/n had an almost death grip)
“Oh no credit where credits due… he was involved for a whole 3 minutes or so.” Harrison snorted and Tom scowled at her, yet her cheeky if exhausted grin instantly erased any annoyance.
“Don’t make sexual jokes in front of our child!” He retorted, Harrison still laughing at his friend. Haz loved Y/n too - she made Tom a better version of himself. And now, she’d made him a dad.
**triggering part starts here
After all the excitement of the early morning it was more than fair to say Y/n was shattered, Tom not doing much better. So after a little bit, Tom joined Y/n on the bed and they instantly fell asleep to the light beeping of their babies heart monitor. Harrison stayed in the arm chair in the corner of the room, wheeling the little incubator right in front of him to just stare at the little girl. He had been texting Tom’s family too, giving them details of when they’d be allowed to come and meet the little one, who had just woken up to all Tom’s frantic texts from the night before.
Eventually though he was ped ousnapt of his happy daze, looking over to the bed and seeing Tom groan as he shifted on the mattress that was technically only spacious enough for one.
“You good mate?” Harrison spoke in a low voice, keen not to disturb either the baby of Y/n - she had earned a bit of peace. Tom just mumbled in response, rubbing his eyes as he sat up before letting out a deeper groan.
“-hat the fuck” Tom lifted up the blanket covering them both as Harrison looked on inquisitively. But then Tom leapt off the bed, started violently shouting Y/n as he shook her in a look of desperation. It was violent and harsh, Harrison was horrified as he immediately stood up in an action to pull Tom off her.
“Tom what are you-“
“Get help Haz.” Tom turned around to look at Haz, only at which point could the blonde haired boy make out why Tom looked so insane. Because his trousers, and the bedsheets that were now not hidden by the blankets, was covered in a red sticky substance. Jaw dropping, Haz slalomed round the incubator to stand at the foot of the bed.
It honestly looked like a horror scene. Y/n’s lower half was completely saturated in a bright red liquid that slowly was creeping further and further through the sheets. Her face looked pale, Haz cursing himself for not noticing earlier and her breathing… it looked so slow it was barely noticeable. The silence was only endured for a few moments, before Tom turned back to violently shaking the dead weight below him yelling her name repeatedly and frantically.
As soon as the alarm was raised more and more staff piled into the room, each one carrying a new level of importance and seniority - instantly taking control of the room and shouting orders. Tom had long since been pulled away from the bed by a nurse, who was trying to speak to him and calm him down, but was completely ignored as he focused on the scene over their shoulder.
“Looking like a primary PP bleed but she’s lost at least 3 pints already…. Somone bleep the aenestists and lets get moving to the OR please!.. We’ll need bloods crossmatch 5 units….”
Tom heard to the controlled sense of urgency in the lead doctors voice and he felt as though his heart was being torn straight from his chest. Harrison took over from the nurse, half restraining - half hugging him as the nurse ushered them completely out the room.  Shouting over Tom’s desperate pleas to let the doctors do their thing. He fought hard against Harrison but ultimately his hold was enough to keep him back, the two watching from he corridor as Y/n’s bed was wheeled rapidly out the room - what seemed like at least 12 staff members bustling after it.
Harrison knew it was hopeless to try and talk to Tom, as he paced up and down the ‘relatives room’ the two had been confined to. They didn’t have a clue what was going on, no-one seemed to want to tell them - making the worst case option appear the most likeliest in Harrison’s head. A nurse had said the baby, as yet unnamed, had been taken down the neonatal unit so that it was one thing less for them to worry about ; but refused to say anything about Y/n, saying a doctor would come and explain soon.
It must’ve been 20 mins, even if to the two men it felt like a lifetime, when a round and short, greying man with big black rimmed rectangular glasses entered the room. Tom was too in his own head to even notice, pacing up and down the room while constantly running a hand through his hair as he tried to keep his breath in regular time - even if his brain was on overdrive.  It took Harrison calling his name twice to make him snap out of it, looking up with desperate pleading eyes to notice the stout man, a sympathetic smile on his face.
“Are you Mrs y/L/n’s husband?”
“Fiance”
“I’m Dr Webber the consultant gynaecologist,  shall we take a seat sir?” Tom stayed rigid, standing opposite him in an offensive manner.
“She’s dead isn’t she?” At Tom’s cold words, Haz’s breath halted in his chest. It had been what they’d both been thinking, of course, it was natural when you see someone with more blood out their body than inside it. The doctor seemed a little shocked at his frankness, pressing his lips together as he let out a sigh.
“No sir she’s not but she is very very unwell. Please, let’s sit down so we can talk about it because I understand it’s a lot to take in.” It took a couple of movements of Tom stood frozen staring but Dr Webber held firm, waiting until Tom took a seat next to Haz before he moved - drawing a chair from across the room so he could face both men.
“First off I’m sorry you were removed from the room and put in here for so long but these situations are incredibly hard and to get Y/n the best care we needed the whole room.”
“Doctor I just… I just need to know what’s going on.” He couldn’t deal with the state of unknowing, Tom was going insane, he didn’t care for the small talk.
“Sorry right, so what we think happened was your fiancé developed a condition called ‘placental accreta’. In simple terms, a bit of the placenta is stuck in the uterus and causes bleeding.”
“That much bleeding?” Haz couldn’t help himself from butting in, he knew this wasn’t really his place, that he was just being there for Tom. But at the same time that was his godchilds mum, it mattered.
“Honestly? Usually not, Y/n had very severe bleed… So she has been taken in for surgery, where the very talented surgeons are trying patch up the affected blood vessels. I’m afraid at this point that’s all I can really say.”
“So… she’s going to be okay?” It was desperate plea for something that, even if Tom wouldn’t admit, he didn’t really believe - it seemed as if none of the three in the room did.
“It’s not that easy I’m afraid. Assuming the surgeons can stabilise the bleeding and fix it…. with blood loss like she has suffered we… we don’t know what the effects of that will be. We tried to prevent as much damage to her brain and body as possible with transfusing blood into her and it was good that she was in hospital so could get treatment almost immediately…. But I’m afraid it’s simply too early to say. The first hurdle is going to be getting her out of surgery safely, only then can we deal with whatever happens next.”
Tom had so many emotions flashing through his head. He knew the doctor was trying to go slow to make the information a little more digestible  but it was all so bloody incomprehensible. So when the greying man asked  both men if they had any questions, neither took up his offer. Surely they both would after hours of processing and analysing but for right now? They were stunned into silence.
“Okay sir, now I hope you don’t mind me saying this but it really is important for you to hear. You are now a father, as Y/n is a mother. This situation is never easy but as a first time dad I need you to be aware that now your fiancé can’t be your only priority. We are all here to support you but please, just remember that.”
Harrison was so glad the doctor had said that, it was so completely true - yet Haz knew he didn’t have enough power to have said it to Tom. The whole thing was impossible and at the centre was an innocent, beautiful but totally dependant baby.
“What happens now then?” Haz had to ask on behalf of his friend, who was now completely overwhelmed. Dr Webber sighed, leaning back and rubbing his knees before answering.
“If the surgery is successful it’ll be at a best estimate two hours before we will have news for you , then she will be taken into intensive care where everything else would be assessed and further investigations would happen. You can both stay here or go get food, maybe go down and see the baby in the neonatal ICU? I personally promise that as soon as any of us get any news you will be the first to know.”
He was met with the sort of silence that makes you shiver. Sighing heavily, the doctor rubbed his knees, apparently preparing to leave. “This possibly one of the worst case scenarios that could’ve happened but Y/n is in the best hands and we will do everything for her. If you do think of anything you want clarification on, grab one of the nurses and they’ll come and find me.”
And then he left.
The room was deathly silent. Harrison couldn’t dare to look over at Tom - he knew what he would see and honestly seeing Tom like that would only make it worse. God knows how long they sat in those plastic lined, lightly padded hospital chairs. Both in silence. Just thinking… or more like worrying… or more like dreading. It was Tom who actually broke the silence first, his voice barely audible but still the meaning was crisp and clear.
“I can’t do it Haz” For the first time since the doctor was with them, Harrison looked at Tom, catching him directly in the eye. That hurt… Tom’s eyes looked so, so… hopeless. He knew what his broken friend was saying, but honestly Haz didn’t want to hear it so he did not respond. That didn’t stop Tom though, he continued. “I can’t do it. … I-I can’t be a dad without her… I just can’t.”
What the hell was Harrison supposed to say? There wasn’t really a guidebook to this situation. He was clueless. So, cautiously Harrison just leaned over, wrapping his arms round Tom as he all but collapsed into his friends chest. Tom was sobbing harshly as Harrison looked up at the ageing ceiling tiles, trying to surpress his own emotions because now clearly wasn’t about him.
“You can Tom… you have to.” His friend didn’t respond, well apart from harsh sobs that racked his frame. And so Harrison just let Tom cry, folded awkwardly and uncomfortably over the arm rest of the chairs, occasionally yelling into his chest at the unjustness of the situation.
It wasn’t fair. But it had still happened. And there was still a baby girl by herself downstairs.

Damon Salvatore x Reader One-Shot | Emily’s House
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous
A/N: I don't know if this would count as a Damon one-shot, but I can't think of anything else to categorize it as. Also, sorry this sucks, but I've had a little writer's block. Last thing, would you guys like more human/past Damon or would you like present day?
________________________________________________________________________________
Includes: Blood, angst, several murders, mild language, and triggering
________________________________________________________________________________
"Y/N? Tell me, damnit!" Kol screamed at his best friend, who merely smirked it off and popped her neck. She examined the "home" Klaus designed for the Mikaelson family in Mystic Falls, with Kol trailing after her.
"You just got out of a box after a century, and you want to know about my past love life? Kinda sad, Kol, not gonna lie," Y/N snickered, and Kol ran up in front of her, stopping her from walking into the dining room. Encouraging her to continue her story. The girl sighed and placed her hands on her friend's shoulders. Letting him into her memories.
~:*:~
*Mystic Falls, Virginia; 1864*
The sound of Y/N's sobs rang through the empty Salvatore house. Despite Giuseppe's earlier attempts to usher the girl out, her rage was much stronger than her sadness. She would never forgive Giuseppe for what he did. Shooting his own sons was a heinous act, even for the man who beat his eldest child. Y/N hadn't actually witnessed the murder, but she heard the gun firing. And neither Salvatore brother had returned in the last two days. She went around town to check, and once she saw Giuseppe drawing sympathy for his lost sons, she rushed back inside.
"Y/N, you must leave. Return to your family --" Giuseppe said, somewhat irritated.
"I no longer have any family, Giuseppe. You killed them in cold blood, remember?" Y/N snapped, cutting off her crying to glance behind her shoulder and notice the horrific man at the door. Giuseppe glared at his deceased son's wife and growled lowly, storming into his office. As much as he loved Damon getting married and even expecting a baby, he desperately hated Y/N. She was a nice girl, but man, did she have a temper. A temper so bad that it blinded most people about what they liked about her. But not Damon. He considered it attractive, and Giuseppe always thought that was the reason he married her. I guess he'll never know now.
The night following, Y/N escaped through her window out the house. She wanted to visit her friend Emily for comfort. The Salvatore wife was still in denial and assumed Damon or even Stefan would bust open the door any moment, but neither did. They were gone, but she didn't want to admit that to herself.
She was too lost in her thoughts to notice a figure following her in the shadows of the thick woods on the way to Emily's house. Emily lived near the Quarry, so it was a long but worthy journey. The figure had a female curve to it, but her large dress made her look thinner. In seconds a wrist was forced across Y/N's lips, with the metallic taste of blood spilling onto her tongue. Y/N tried to scream, but a thick stick was shoved into her stomach before her mouth could part. The attacker looked down at her struggling victim and chuckled darkly.
~:*:~
The bleeding light of the sun burnt through Y/N's eyelids the next morning, and she winced. It wasn't like any morning where she didn't want to get up, but it hurt her. Physically. She sat up and saw she was lying in the woods. Left for dead by whoever attacked her. But how could she be alive? A stick was plunged into her abdomen, and no one could aid her. She gazed down at her stomach, which was drowned in blood. Not just her own. Y/N's eyes widened, and a scream finally fell from her lips.
Her cries began again as her shaky hand fell onto her fully healed wound. But the blood remained stained on her dress, which was just a reminder about what happened. She stumbled up, and her first thought was how close Emily was. Her legs carried her weak build across the woods, and not much later, she reached Emily's house.
She pounded on the door, and soon it was whipped open by the witch herself. Emily noticed her friend's state and immediately got anxious. Y/N began weeping again and engulfed Emily in a hug. The black girl was shocked but closed the door and raced Y/N to the living room. "What happened, Y/N? What's wrong? Why do you have blood on you? Is this yours?" she interrogated eagerly, but Y/N kept shaking her head to try to bring him back. She couldn't lose her baby boy, too, not after losing Damon.
"I -- I think he's go -- gone. He's gone, Em- Emily," the Bennett girl knew of Y/N's pregnancy since she was in her third trimester, and people tend to point it out.
"What? What do you mean he's gone? What happened to you? Why is there blood on your dress?!" Emily panicked. Usually, she was relatively calm, but she couldn't contain herself.
"Emily? What's happening in here?" a male's voice asked as he walked in with caution. Stefan stopped once he saw his brother's wife, and both girls looked at the youngest Salvatore. Y/N gasped, and her breathing increased dramatically.
"Stefan? Stefan, how are you here right now?!"
"Y/N! You need to calm down!" Emily yelled and grabbed Y/N's face, forcing the girl to look at the witch's calming brown eyes.
"No, no, what's Stefan doing here? He died, Emily. Giuseppe shot him I --" Emily cut Y/N off with a shush, placing her hand on her stomach, which was flatter than it should be.
"Are you sure?" the Bennett questioned. Y/N nodded and sniffed. Emily stood up and ran around the house to try and find a spell to heal the possibly dead baby.
"Are you not going to explain how my husband's dead brother is here?!" Y/N shouted towards Emily, who didn't reply. The wife looked to Stefan with hopeful eyes. "Is he alive too? Is he here?" Stefan nodded and gestured outside. Y/N didn't hesitate to run out.
She saw Damon sitting near the water, tears falling from his eyes mercifully. "Damon?" Y/N cried, and the brunette whipped around, every action of his stopping. His jaw flew open, and he stood up. The Salvatores sprinted into each other's arms, both bawling. "Ho -- how are you alive? I thought --"
"I'm in transition," Damon interrupted his wife, who broke the hug.
"What?"
"Katherine, she gave me her blood before I died," he explained, but Y/N was still confused. "Are you okay? I heard a commotion going on inside and thought it was just Emily doing some witchy voodoo. I never expected you to come out that door," Damon smiled in joy, but Y/N's face fell.
"I . . . . last night someone stabbed me in the stomach," - Damon's expression became worried - "he's gone. Emily is trying to find a spell, but . . . . my attacker killed our boy in the process of trying to murder me," Y/N muttered, and Damon stepped back. A look of pain shot across his face, and he choked on the right words to say.
"Do -- do you know who --?"
"No. I don't even know how I'm alive right now, but I'll have Emily figure out that later," Damon put his face in his hands before tugging at his curly dark hair.
"He's not gone. I refuse to believe that. Emily!" the oldest Salvatore snarled and sped inside. Leaving Y/N to leer out at the flowing bay.
~:*:~
*Mystic Falls, Virginia; Present Day*
Y/N let go of Kol and huffed, snatching up a bottle of bourbon, an obsession she picked up from Damon. She strutted past Kol and into the dining room, plopping into one of the seats. She took a swig of the alcohol as her best friend came back down to Earth. "Wow. I had no idea -- "
"Yeah, I know. Only the Salvatores and my friends in 1864 knew I was pregnant. Oh, also that bitch Katherine. She was actually the one that did the deed," Y/N answered, sipping some more.
"Katherine? As in Katerina Petrova? She turned you and killed your unborn child while doing so?" Kol gawked. He had his fair share of drama, but this was a whole new ball game for him. No one, not even Klaus, would stoop that low.
"Bingo," - another drink - "would you like a special star or something?"

The first time Calum realized that he wanted to be a dad, Dovey was making funny faces at a toddler in the grocery store.
It had been a simple gesture. Dovey had scrunched up her nose and the baby in the shopping cart in front of them had giggled. It was a moment so small and he was pretty sure that Dovey hadn't even noticed him watching. But since that day and as they both went about running errands, Calum couldn't get the idea of having their own baby to be able to make funny faces for out of his head. He'd never tell Dovey that but he was more than willing to put his life of being on tour and living the rockstar life on hold if that meant he could watch Dovey be a mom and see himself as a dad.
He hadn't been sure how to tell Dovey. The two of them had always put off the baby talk because they were more than happy being dog parents and with Calum's hectic work schedule, it had never seemed like the right time to bring up growing a family. HE wasn't even sure if Dovey wanted kids at this point. Some days she'd talk on and on about how she wouldn't know the first thing to do when it came to motherhood and then the next she was bragging over how she'd gotten Ashton's son to bed faster than Ash ever could when they were babysitting. But he'd seen the way Dovey offered more and more to babysit or to even just hold a baby when the opportunity arose. Calum wasn't sure if he was even ready for a child, but that was a problem for a different day.
The second time Calum realized he wanted a baby, he and Dovey were at Target and had passed by the baby section, ending in both of them squealing over how tiny a baby Yoda onesie was. Calum had pointed out the onesie, knowing that Dovey had been obsessed with anything baby Yoda at the moment and he couldn't help but lead her over to the baby section when he saw her face soften.
"Can you imagine how tiny a human has to be to fit into one of these?" she mumbled in awe as she held up the tiny piece of clothing, "Your bicep probably wouldn't even fit, Dovey."
"It's tiny, huh?" Calum had chuckled, his arms wrapping around his wife's waist as they kept walking through the store, Calum not missing when Dovey had pulled the onesie into the cart at checkout.
And when Dovey started dressing Duke in baby clothes, Calum hoped this meant more than just dressing up the poor dog for entertainment. The first time it had happened was a few days after their trip to Target, when Calum walked into the bedroom to find Dovey wrestling Duke to get the baby Yoda onesie on him. He'd watched her struggle as Duke wiggled away from her but once the last button was secured and Duke was laying in her arms, Dovey looked more than pleased.
"You really should stop torturing the poor dog," Calum had teased as he walked over to kiss her forehead and pat the old dog on the head, "He's only just started liking you."
"He's liked me since day one, Dove, and besides, he looks so comfy and cute!" Dovey laughed and set the dog down, wrapping her arms around Calum's waist and pulling him in for a kiss.
"Should just make a baby instead of torturing Duke," Calum mumbled, half-joking as he looked at Dovey's face for any sort of reaction.
"Haha, so funny, Hood. Don't make promises you can't keep," she teased and nudged him with her elbow before chasing after Duke with her phone in her hand.
The third time Calum realized he needed to be a dad was when he held Ashton's newborn. The little one was so tiny and warm and Calum felt an overwhelming sense of love for the child he'd met a few seconds ago. Ashton and his wife had come to visit for the first time since the arrival of their first child and the Hoods were absolutely head over heels with the newborn. Calum had bounced off the walls since Ashton had texted him that morning asking if they could stop by to get a change of scenery.
"He's so tiny," Calum mumbled as he looked down at the tiny baby in his arms, rocking him slowly as he sat still on the couch, "I can't believe he's finally here after months of waiting."
"That's usually what happens, Dove," Dovey had teased, her eyes watching the little baby squirm in Calum's arms before settling down with a big yawn.
"And when are you two going to pop one out?" Ashton asked and chuckled quietly, not missing the quick glances the Doves gave one another.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe sooner than later."
Dovey had been acting strange, she was restless and every time Calum questions her about it, she'd shut him down and said she was excited about dinner. She'd been more hesitant to go out and enjoy a night out, opting for mocktails instead of her usual order. Calum hadn't wanted to bring it up, fearing he was looking too into it, and instead waited for Dovey to say something to him about.
Calum had noticed something was off with Dovey. She'd been clingier around him, always wanting to hold his hand when they were in public and when it was just the two of them alone at home, she was always on his lap. But the one thing that stood out the most to Calum was whenever Dovey saw a baby, she would stare. It wasn't a creepy stare, Calum hoped. It was just a fond look where Dovey would try her hardest to make a random baby giggle or even smile. It wasn't until Calum and her were at home one night that Dovey had finally said something.
"How do you feel about kids?" she'd whispered as they laid on the couch facing one another, her thumb tracing a line from the top of his cheek to his jaw.
"Used to think I didn't want any," Calum mumbled, "But recently...I don't know, I think I'd like to try," he whispered, leaning into Dovey's touch as his eyes closed.
"Me too," Dovey whispered and smiled as she watched Calum's eyebrows furrow, "I think we should try."
"Now?" he teased and chuckled.
"I mean..."
"And let's turn this thing on, see if we can't hear baby, yeah?" the ultrasound technician said softly.
Dovey's hand was held tightly in Calum's, both of them trying to take in the moment in the dim-lit office as the machine was turned on. Dovey's gasp was drowned out by the loud thumpthumpthump coming from the doppler, her hand squeezing Calum's tightly as they both listened to their baby's heartbeat. Calum felt like he was in a fever dream, like the past couple of months had flown by and that he was going to wake up any second to find himself on the couch alone. Dovey had taken a test two weeks before the appointment, Calum had been confused when he heard her footsteps rushing towards his office where he was met by a tear struck Dovey.
"It's positive," she'd choked out, the tears finally falling down her cheeks as Calum pulled her into a tight hug, "I'm pregnant."
"And here we see the little one." the technician pointed out the small bean shape on the screen, causing the two Doves to burst back into tears as the measurements were taken.
"Oh my god, our little bean," Calum chuckled shakily through his tears, watching the screen as he pressed a kiss to Dovey's forehead.
Later that day, when the tears had dried and many congratulations were given from everyone in the doctor's office, Dovey and Calum found themselves on their couch again. The sonogram pictures were sitting in Dovey's lap, both of them still in awe of the day to really process that their baby was real and that in a couple of months they would become parents. Calum had already begun to shop for baby essentials, their extra room already filled with nursery items even though neither of them had told anyone the news of the baby. But for now, their little secret would stay with them both, hidden in Calum's wallet, and only when the bump which had shown up a few days after Dovey had hit her second trimester, would Calum post a picture of him with the picture of their soon to be bundle of joy.

Use All of Me (P.8)
Title: Use All Of Me (Part Eight) Summary: Fem!Reader x Dark Mob!Steve Rogers. The Avengers are heroes saving the world but in this AU, they are also permitted by the powers in charge to have less than favorable business underneath their guise of mere superheroes. Steve and Tony are at the helm, keeping their empire’s wealth in check, both devious and perilous if crossed. Steve takes a liking to the reader at a party and it may be her undoing to her autonomy choosing to go home with him. Words: 3,716 Warnings: Dark AF, angst, emotional/mental abuse, smut, breeding, death
Part Seven || Part Nine || Masterpost (mobile) || Fanfic masterpost
Steve had not come to bed. Your shower was slow, knowing there was nothing to rush for. You stayed in longer than necessary, basking in the warmth and taking time to lather your skin up with the soothing shower gel. More than once, your fingers fluttered over your nipples, eliciting soft sighs. You were restless and hoping the warm water would calm you down.
After getting out, you dried off, throwing on a light-yellow summer dress before using the blow dryer after.
On your way down, you checked at Steve’s study. The door was open and the room was empty. Maybe he was eating breakfast. When you walked into the kitchen, it was past 8:00am. Patricia was finishing putting away a plate of breakfast food and you apologized her. She waved you off, taking it back out of the fridge and placing it in the microwave.
“Have you seen Steve?” you asked, sitting at the island.
“He was gone when I got here, ma’am,” Patricia told you.
So, he had left before 7:00am.
When she placed the food in front of you, you smiled at her. “You used the mashed potatoes.”
“Was I not supposed to?” she asked worriedly.
You gave a quick laugh, “Yes, that was what I was hoping. I had thought I would be up earlier so I could let you know I made them last night for potato cakes in the morning. It’s like you read my mind.”
She looked pleased with this comment and nodded. “Do you want fruit?”
“Yes, please. Strawberries.”
The rest of the day was slow, you trying to focus on reading your book but your mind kept drifting back to the disappointed look on Steve’s face whenever you had made eye contact with him last night during dinner. He kept up appearances for everyone else, joining in the overzealous toast from Thor, blessing your soon to be ‘babes’ and accepting congratulations from everyone. But he had been upset with you and it had unexpectedly made you feel ashamed. You missed his touch last night.
His touch.
You imagined his hands slipping up your thighs, gently pushing your legs apart. His fingers creeping underneath your underwear, delving in—
You shook the thought from your head, trying to focus harder on the words on the page.
But—
His nose nuzzling along your abdomen, laying soft kisses as he worked—
You slammed your book close. There was no way you were going to be able to focus on this when you were getting this riled up. You were horny. That was the bottom line. You had felt it in the shower earlier and you should have given in and done it in there where it was private, and you could easily clean up.
When would Steve be home?
<> <> <>
His footsteps echoed through the entrance hall after the front door closed and you practically hopped off the couch to go intercept him before he could disappear into his study again. You skidded into the entrance hall, only stumbling slightly as your socks hit the marble.
Steve was already halfway up one of the staircases when he stopped and made to come back down, worry on his face seeing you stumble. He stilled when you balanced yourself.
“Be careful, Y/N,” he told you sternly. He turned to continue up the stairs.
“Wait,” you blurted, and he stopped again to look at you. “Are… are you going to talk to me?”
Steve said nothing and you were having trouble deciphering what he was feeling or thinking.
“At all?” you added quietly.
He licked his bottom lip, looking thoughtful. “Come upstairs.”
You followed him up, trying to keep a normal pace, and not see so eager. He led you to his study, closing the door behind you. You had only been in here a couple of times, avoiding it out of his request to not mess around in here. It was tidy but you knew there were things hidden; weapons and such that he did not want you to find.
Steve came to your side, peering down his nose at you. He was waiting for you to say something.
“You’re mad at me,” you finally said lamely.
“I’m disappointed,” Steve corrected. Disappointed always felt worse than angry, and you fought to keep eye contact. “I asked you specifically to be ready.”
“I was ready. I may not have done my makeup—”
“I’m not talking about that, Y/N. I meant to be with everyone. You were slaving away in the kitchen instead of spending time with everyone.”
“I’m sorry,” you said thickly.
“You made your choice.”
“I… I just wanted to cook.”
“Then cook for me. That’s completely fine. But when we are having people over, I want you to be with me. I want you to be with them. It feels like you were trying to hide yourself away.”
“I wasn’t.”
“I’m having a hard time believing you.”
You had prepared this excuse and executed the delivery perfect, “I was taught when people come to your house, you’re supposed to be a hostess. And that’s what I did.” Steve was quiet, taking that in. You shrugged, adding, “So, I’m sorry. Really.” Another pause, gauging his reaction. He was not budging, still silent. Giving a defeated sigh, you said, “I don’t want you to keep shutting me out because of it. But if you still need time, I guess I’ll just deal then.”
You took a step towards the door and Steve stopped you, pulling you back in front of him. His eyes raked over you, trying to see how genuine you were. He must have been satisfied with your answer because he said sincerely, “Thank you for explaining yourself. It gives me a better perspective.”
“Well, I would’ve last night but you left me by myself,” you muttered, eyes downcast.
“I was upset.”
“I know.”
“In the future, please, leave it to Patricia. You don’t have to wait on people hand and feet, especially pregnant. We have her for a reason. Understand?”
“Yes.”
“Good,” he said, nodding in approval. You leaned into his touch when he placed his hand on the side of your face. The corners of his lips upturned into a soft smile. “You are darling, you know that?” His eyes trailed down, eyeing the low collar of your dress, and one of his hands followed his gaze, coming to rest at your hips, the other at your cheek. You ever so slightly rolled your hips towards him at the firm grip and he murmured, “I heard your sex drive can really amp up in the second trimester.” You blushed, and he smirked, feeling the warmth he brought there. “I am sure being alone really did leave you wanting.”
He was reading you like a book.
“Would you like me to do something about it?” he asked quietly.
Your hands rested on his chest and you nodded, much to his approval. Turning, he led you a bookcase along the wall and touched a book on it and you stared in awe as it popped open; it was a hidden door. He led you through it, and it led into his walk in closet. His lips found yours again and he pressed you further into the closet, closer to the bedroom. Your foot hit the plush chaise and he noticed.
“Lay back,” he ordered, his eyes blown wide with lust.
You rested against the back and arm, settled in the pillows as he pushed your dress up. His fingers hooked underneath the band of your underwear, tearing them down your legs. He laid sloppy kisses up the inside of your thigh. Tongue flat and wide, he licked up your pussy, making you shiver. He hummed in approval the reverberations adding to the sensation. His lips trailed up onto your stomach, peppering kisses around your middle.
Sitting up quickly – causing Steve to pause, looking at you with challenge, as if he thought you were trying to stop – you tore the dress over your head, undoing your bra and tossing it aside. Steve grinned when he realized what you wanted, and he obliged. His mouth was hot and wet on your quickly hardening nipples. You were so sensitive, even more so than normal. He bit down ever so slightly, and you keened, your hands groping at his shoulders.
“My gorgeous little doll,” he growled, moving to shove his jeans down. Your hands went up his sweater and he tore that off as well.
One leg hanging off, Steve plummeted in between your legs. You moaned, your fingernails digging into his forearms planted on either side of you.
“You’ll listen when I tell you to do something?” he husked, nipping at your ear. You nodded and he nipped harder. “Say it, Y/N!”
“Yes, I’ll listen,” you gasped in response to his fingers pinching at your erect nipple. “I promise!”
Your declaration was enough to get his hips snapping, your orgasm quickly following, and him subsequently. Steve’s kisses were bruising along your jawline, savoring the taste of you as he rode out his high. Your legs still trembled as you held him close, inhaling his scent deeply.
In the moments following passion, it was easy to forget the cage he kept you in.

A few days later, you were unable to find him inside. He had not left the house; it was the weekend. He was staying home, he had told you so. You searched the rooms for him and then spotted him out on the patio, seated at the table beneath the large cover, bent over papers. Bryce was seated a few seats away, scouring over documents as well. You thought to grab a pitcher of water and a couple glasses. You grabbed a Sprite, slipping it into the pocket of your dress before gathering everything else.
Walking out the door, the wind swept through gently, tugging at the hem of your dress.
He heard you approaching and looked over his shoulder. You held up the pitcher, cradling the glasses. “Water?” you asked him.
Steve nodded, “Yeah, that’d be perfect. You should have some too.”
“Oh, this glass is for Bryce…” you said trailing off, waiting to see his reaction.
“Well, have some when you go inside then,” Steve replied and you nodded, pouring them both a glass. Bryce thanked you when you handed it to him.
He was examining a multi-page document with upmost attention. One hand was resting on his thigh, leaning forward as he peered over the document.
Pulling the Sprite from your pocket, you asked, “What’s that?”
Steve reacted to hearing you open the pop and eyed the can in your hand. “You’re gonna need to stop drinking those. Dr. Kamal said caffeine can affect your blood pressure and that’s important to regulate during pregnancy. Plus, it might affect the babies.”
“…There’s no caffeine in Sprite, Steve,” you told him slowly.
He obviously did not know that and you informing him of that did not seem to go over well based off the way he looked at you unamused. He pressed, “Regardless, you are going to change your diet, which includes anything that has caffeine in it. And Sprite does have a lot of sugar and that can lead to more weight gain. She says here,” he gestured at the document. “You could gain up to 50 pounds. That’s a lot of stress on your body. You don’t want to be adding any more if you can help it. I’d prefer if you didn’t gain that much. It would be hard to lose it and then just gain it again for the next one.”
Next one?
“We haven’t even had the first two,” you laughed nervously.
He sat up straight, his hand leaving the paperwork. “We’ll have five or six. Like I said, it’s going to be a toll on your body.”
“No shit,” you blurted without thinking and he cocked his head, looking at you in irritation now. You cleared your throat. “Trust me, I don’t want to be gaining 50 pounds,” you told him, holding your can of Sprite a little tighter. His gaze flicked to it and you said quickly, “Can I just finish this one? Please?”
“You’re already drinking it,” Steve sighed, looking back down and turning the page. “I’ll take the rest of the case to the compound and put it in the fridge there.” Your mouth set into a thin line which went unnoticed by him. “I’m gonna have a nutritionist set up a meal plan for you and give it to Patricia.”
“Where did you get this information? Is Bryce looking at it too?”
“No, I’m looking at—” Bryce started to say but Steve cut him off, without looking up, “No, he’s not. He’s looking at a file for work.”
Continuing, Steve said, “She said to contact her if we had any follow up questions after the appointment. I didn’t think to ask because… well, you know,” he said, his eyebrows raising. Right. How you had reacted to the news. “She sent me over information about your health during pregnancy.” He met your eyes now, “And I want you to do as it says.”
“What if I get a craving? Some women start craving the hell out of pickles. Or ice cream.”
“I think you’re craving lemons.” Your brow furrowed and he asked, “Would you disagree?”
“I…” you said trailing off, thinking about it.
“Do you usually drink as much lemon water as you are? You always request them when Patricia goes for the weekly groceries and I have yet to see that citrus juicer leave the counter because you are constantly refilling your water and putting lemon in it.”
How had you not recognized that yourself? You had drunk lemon water before – but mostly at restaurants. It calmed you down when you had it.
“Apparently you didn’t notice,” Steve said, seeing the realization on your face. “Just keep using that straw so you avoid really hurting your teeth with the acid.”
He was looking down again and you scowled at him, knowing he would not see. But then you saw Bryce looking at you, his expression unreadable. You quickly dropped the attitude and took another drink of your Sprite, savoring the taste since it seemed to be your last for quite some time. Especially if Steve was expecting to have you pregnant for the next decade it sounded like.
Something tugged at you and you followed the feeling, looking back up at Bryce. He was still studying you. He gave you the smallest of smiles, looking sad… no… like he was pitying you.
You filed that away for later.
<> <> <>
You sat on that interaction for days, wondering if you should take the leap. He had heard the whole conversation between you and Steve regarding how he was going to start controlling your diet completely and he essentially was going to breed you. Even knowing that though, you still found yourself searching out his attention. You hated how much you craved his touch too – it was a relief every time he got you to come. Your hormones were flying and having him get you off seemed to be the key to quelling all the anxiety.
It was too much. You were taking that leap. Steve was out of the house.
Walking barefoot out in the grass, you crossed your arms over your ever growing stomach. It was true, at four months you were starting to show and it was going to only get bigger – and quickly with twins –, rendering you more dependent on others for some daily tasks. It was already becoming more difficult to bend over, you trembled thinking about yourself at six or nine months along.
Bryce was walking across the lawn from the shop and you moved quickly to go over to where he was.
“Can I talk to you?” you called out. He stopped, facing you. You gestured, “Not right here.” His gaze was skeptical, but he followed you all the same. You moved to stand at the corner of the house, hopefully mostly out of the way of the outdoor cameras, but you doubted there was anywhere on the property without at least some line of sight.
“Is something wrong?” Bryce asked.
You studied him, gauging how to start. You were basing a lot of assumption about his viewpoint off of one look. But you had little else to go on. You swallowed sharply before saying in a fairly low volume, “I am going out on a limb here… but I need your help.”
“With what?”
“I need to leave.”
Bryce’s lips parted in surprise at your bluntness. He recovered quickly, countering, “How do you mean?”
“You know what I mean.”
He shook his head, “You cannot ask me to help you with that. You’re lucky I don’t tell Mr. Rogers you even brought it up.”
He began to walk away. You reached out to grasp his arm. “Please!” you pleaded. “I don’t want to be here anymore. Steve… he’s changed.”
Bryce was at least staying to hear you out. Your hand fell from his arm as he told you sternly, “He’s always been like this. Nothing has changed.”
“Well, he was dishonest with me then. He acted… sweet.”
“Has he not been sweet to you? Just yesterday afternoon he seemed very sweet, if you don’t mind me saying. He seems to be quite smitten, ma’am.”
“I don’t doubt his affection,” you said. “But c-can’t you see he’s keeping me locked away?”
Bryce was quiet, his gaze turned away from you, his eyes somewhere else along the greenery of the lawn’s edge. You stayed quiet, letting him gather his thoughts. When he finally spoke, he said quietly, “Do you understand what he could do to you?”
“What? Kill me? Perfect,” you said sarcastically.
“I don’t think he would kill you, miss,” Bryce said solemnly, locking eyes with you.
You stiffened at that.
The longer the two of you spoke the more chance Steve would be looking in the cameras for the pair of you. And if he located you, who knew how much he could pick up if he had mics? It was illegal for security cameras to have audio recording, but this was his personal house, not some store.
Bryce stepped closer, “Even if I could help you, I wouldn’t.” Your face fell and he shook his head. “It would be very short lived, this grand escape you think you can pull off. You know how expansive Mr. Stark’s technology can reach. You would have the whole Avenger team looking for you. Where in the world do you think you could possibly hide? It would be a suicide mission to help you escape.”
He was not helping because of his loyalty. He was not helping because he believed it to be wasted effort and would have a terrible ending. How could you argue with that?
“You… he will take care of you. He cherishes you. Coddles you even.”
“Exactly!” you exclaimed upset. “I don’t need to be coddled. I... If you won’t help me, then I’ll just do it myself.”
It was Bryce’s turn to grasp your arm and plead, “Don’t do that. Please!” You said nothing, your face stony. He cursed under his breath and hissed, “If you are serious about it, then I’ll tell him. You can see it as a betrayal of trust, but I am trying to protect you. Staying here and finding comfort in what you have pales in comparison to when – not if, WHEN – you’re brought back, and you try to build trust again. It won’t happen. Mr. Rogers won’t allow you to do anything. You think you feel trapped now? Please. I implore you to be objective about this. Be smart.”
Wind was leaving your sails and you let it show. If he was true about telling Steve about the conversation, you needed him to think you had been discouraged from it. That would keep it secret and allow you to find – hopefully – another avenue to escape through.
“Fine,” you said stiffly, tears pricking your eyes. “At least I can still see my friends here.”
Tearing your arm from his grasp, you walked away from him, holding yourself.
Apparently, you were on your own. You could not in good faith put your friends in danger by involving them. Steve would go to them anyway, but they would not know a thing and he would have no proof they knew anything because it would not exist.
You could not fly. That would be one of the first and obvious places for them to check. You could not drive, at least not far. Steve had his phones hooked up to both of his cars and the blue tooth would be able to track the car’s location wherever you went. Which also meant you could not take your phone, putting you at more risk to be able to call for help if something happened.
Something came to mind. A train. You could not google anything on your phone or any of the laptops though. You would be going in blind to the station. But you would be on camera there too at the ticket booth. It would be easy for Steve to get a ticket booth worker to talk and tell him which route you had taken.
You could steal someone’s ticket; it didn’t matter where. And in return, leave them an envelope with cash in its place as an apology. You would need a light coat with a hood. It was almost September, the weather still way too hot for anything heavy. The light coat might even be too much, but what was a little sweat? Plus, it would help to cover your bump. You could leave Steve’s car at Grand Central – dispose of the key somewhere nearby. It would be a little bit of a walk, but you could walk to Penn Station. The Amtrak was there to get you out of the city. There was also shopping inside where you could buy said coat – you did not want to risk taking anything from here, it would be too easily recognizable.
A train. You felt hope bubbling inside at the prospect.

Natasha x Romanoff : Escape
Summary: The Red Room haunts you, from the moment you stepped foot inside to long after you’ve left. Truth is, you don’t think there is any escaping it.
Warnings: 18+ Violence, Depression, Mentions of Death, Smut
!!Final Chapter!!
Chapter 16
******
Three broken bones.
They’d need to be reset and wrapped but due to your enhanced abilities they would heal quickly.
For now though they sit under an ice pack.
While you’re use to damage being done to your body in combat, the last circumstance you expected to be injured in was holding your wife’s hand.
Natasha had gripped your hand with not a single regard to the pained expression on your face and you’d paid very little attention to the damage she had done. Between her screams and the doctors calmed words you couldn’t care less.
Even after she had let it go and slumped in exhaustion you worked through the pain. With the sounds of your child crying, you hurry to the foot of the bed, picking up the scissors as instructed and cut the umbilical chord.
Now you watch as the doctor and nurses follow the basic procedure of weighing and cleaning your baby, and also attending to Natasha.
Part of you feels a little useless as you stand to the side but more than anything you’re happy and concerned, slightly nervous. You really just want to hear that your wife will recover properly and that your baby is in perfect health.
As you wait for the nurses to finish up, you run the cool damp rag over your wife’s forehead, wiping away the sweat that had built up. You place a gentle kiss on her head, brushing away almost dried tears and loose strands of hair.
“I’m so proud of you lyubov moya, I love you so much.” You whisper praise and honest words into her hair.
Natasha gives a sleepy smile to you,“ I love you too.” She sighs, eyes closing.
Her rest hasn’t even begun before the nurses are stepping over with your baby.
“Congratulations on your healthy baby girl.” The nurse speaks through the mask.
She eases your little girl into the open arms of your teary eyed wife. They both handle the baby with care and gentleness, treating her as if she’s porcelain. She’s more precious than that and you know it, which is what makes you even more nervous.
During the pregnancy you had done everything you could to care for the baby and Natasha. Making sure Natasha ate properly and was equally as active as she was relaxing. Staying awake a littler longer than Natasha to ensure she remained comfortable and in the proper position while asleep.
All of that still hadn’t prepared you for this moment. Nothing truly could have but that’s usually the case.
“Y/N,” swallowing, you focus on your wife as she sits up to hand your daughter to you.
That phrase repeats itself in your head as you accept her.
Your daughter. You make sure her head is rested properly on your arm.
Your daughter. You press her close to your chest to ensure she’s warm and safe.
Your daughter.
A soft, almost inaudible coo escapes her lips. She just barely wiggles in your arms. And then those little eyes open.
When those emerald orbs stare back at you it’s an other worldly feeling. The emotions that swirl through your chest explode and fill you from head to toe.
It was undeniable that Natasha’s green eyes could motivate you to move mountains. For the same green eyes that belonged to your daughter, you swore you would move the universe.
“She has your eyes.” You breathe.
Natasha chuckles softly, mesmerized by the sight of you.
The red head remembers every bit of your panic and nervousness the months prior to this.
Staying up for hours reading pregnancy and child care books. Scurrying through the house to child proof every inch of it. Waking up in the middle of the night just to run your fingers over her stomach and make sure she and the baby were okay.
Admittedly Natasha had felt a little guilty during her pregnancy. There wasn’t a moment that you weren’t by her side. You attended to her cravings and the sporadic changes in her body, whether she was in pain or she needed you to fuck her into oblivion, without a second thought.
With each symptom that came with each trimester you adjusted and did everything in your power to be there for Natasha and ultimately your child. And she didn’t miss the sleepiness that lingered in your eyes or the tired sighs you let out every so often.
It brought the woman to tears more often than she’d like to admit, most times resulting in you trying to comfort her, which just made her cry more. She genuinely felt as if she was asking too much of you.
But you reassured her, after she finally broke and told you how she was feeling, that you would do it all again in an instant(part of you thinking of the chance of you having to do it again should you both decide to have another child) because you love her and your baby.
Every little move and decision you had made, despite your worry and doubt in yourself, you’d done it all because you love her and your daughter, and it all lead to this moment.
Right now, with your daughter cradled to your chest and love radiating off of you, Natasha knows that you’re going to be the greatest mother.
In the passing hours you both easily lose yourselves in her presence. Even as the nurses come in and out of the room to check on you all, has you sign all the necessary papers, and guide Natasha with breastfeeding, you remain completely entranced by the tiny human.
So much so that you’d forgotten about your friends and family out in the waiting room. One look at the clock reveals that they had indeed been waiting for ten hours.
Before you do anything you check with Natasha. If she says she’s too tired you’ll tell them to go home until she’s ready. But the excitement of seeing her family meet her daughter keeps her awake.
Fingers wringing together in excitement and remaining waves of nervousness, you step out the room and walk down the hall.
No one notices you at first, giving you a moment to take in all the support you and Natasha have.
The large waiting room is nearly full of Avengers and friends alike. Right beside the door sits the Captain himself clutching an adorable brown teddy bear. The three chairs beside him are occupied by the Starks: Tony sips from a cup of coffee with his arm thrown over his daughter, who is holding a slightly used white bunny rabbit with her mother on her opposite side.
Along the wall opposite the door sits the Bartons. Clint’s leg bounces up and down, Laura’s hand placed on the still one. Their children sit beside each other on Laura’s side, an assortment of balloons and flowers with them.
Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Carol, and Peter sit in the center of the room, the first holding a gift basket as a bag sits beside Carol’s foot. Lastly, seated behind them across three chairs is Bruce. It’d been years since you’d seen him in normal human form but it doesn’t surprise you that he chose this particular occasion to down size.
Making yourself known, you step into view. You’d never seen the group of heroes move so quickly before. They gather around you, an array of questions flying from their lips that causes you to smile.
“Calm down guys please.” Despite them shutting up, you still see the way they physically can’t calm.“ I am pleased to announce the birth of our perfectly healthy baby girl, Annalise Romanoff-Y/L/N.”
The nurses are not happy with the cheer that bursts over the group and you’re quick to silence them.
From there you bring back a few people at a time. The first group of course being Clint, Steve, and Tony.
You enjoy seeing the big bad super solider get so nervous when Annalise is placed in his arms, you imagine that’s how you look if not more nervous when you hold her. And of course Clint and Tony handle her with the care of that of a father.
The next group is Pepper, Morgan, Laura, Wanda, and Carol. Pepper and Laura, while very much in love with Annalise already, spend more time than the others checking in with Natasha. Which is to be expected, they’re the only ones who truly understand how wracking this all has been for Natasha.
In groups of three, the last of your visitors come in. All of which want to hold your daughter. Except for Bucky, Morgan, and little Nathaniel. Truthfully you weren’t too sure about letting Peter hold her as he was more than a little nervous, you didn’t want the jumpy boy to drop your daughter so you sat him down before handing her over.
Like all things, visitation comes to an end. Natasha loses her last bits of strength to stay awake and after another feeding she and Annalise are asleep.
Of course you are tired, you’d woken up at three in the morning and have been alert and slightly on edge for ten hours. Still you stay awake, eyes spending equal amounts of time looking at your wife and daughter.
Standing guard in the hospital room probably wasn’t necessary and you definitely need the sleep but you’ve already vowed in yourself to give anything for your girls. And it starts right now.
***** ***** *****
“Heads up Mama!”
Looking up at the sound of your wife’s voice, you catch the sight of your little girl quickly coming your way. You set down your drink, stand up, and scoop her into your arms.
“What can I do for you little miss?” You ask, earning a toothy grin from her.
She buries her face in your neck seeing Natasha walk over, mumbling,“ want juice pop.”
Your wife rolls her eyes in mock annoyance, a smile instantly taking over her face.
“Have I missed something?” You look from your daughter to your wife.
The older redhead nods,“ yes in fact you have. She wanted a snack and I pulled out her carrots and she took off toward you hoping to get a juice pop.”
There’s no denying that Annalise has both you and Natasha wrapped around her little fingers, and at the young age of three she knows exactly who to go to to get what she wants.
You give Natasha a pout,“ awe, come on mommy, one little juice pop won’t hurt.”
Hearing that you’re on her side, Annalise sits up and looks at you, before pouting at Natasha as well,“ pease mommy. One little juice pop?”
“I’m a highly trained secret agent and you two think pouts is going to make me crack?” She looks from your e/c eyes to the green eyes of your daughter.
One glance at each other and you’re looking at her with pouts and puppy dog eyes.
“Fine!” Her hands go up in surrender,“ you can have juice pops.”
The two of you waste no time going to get the sugary snacks, Annalise making sure to bring back a strawberry one for your wife as Natasha deemed it her favorite.
It had taken years, for things to finally start to settle. Rebuilding the world takes time, and despite the progress there is still much to be done. But with the compound having been completely redone(with more safety precautions installed than there were to protect the state) the team decided it was time to relax.
With today being ultimately rare, as no one was off on a mission or working in general, Tony called for a picnic at the compound.
Gentle breezes pass through the large field, rustling the surrounding trees and wafting the nearby aromas: smoky scents of cooking meat from the grill, natural fruity tones from the table of healthy snacks and the contrasting sugary scents of the desert table.
Obvious sounds of happiness fill the air. Childish shrieks and squeals come from the bounce castle that the Barton children, Morgan, and Peter occupy. Boisterous laughter from the super soldiers, God, and soldier who stand around the drink coolers. A harmless altercation between Tony and Bruce being instigated by Clint, Happy and Rhodey, that is quickly broken up by their wives as they head over to join Wanda and Carol under the shade.
In this moment, watching all your friends spend the day together and seeing your daughter messily feed your wife a strawberry juice pop, you feel lighter than you ever have.
As a child you were taught that love is for children. Growing up you were trained and made to be a weapon. You’d done horrible things to people both good and bad. And for majority of your life you believed you were destined to do the bidding of the people who enslaved you, destined to live in the darkness you grew accustomed to.
Throughout that darkness there were shimmers of light, sprinkles of hope, and glimpses of a better future.
Natalia had illuminated the darkness that the Red Room subjected you to, little moments together showing you that love isn’t for children.
Natasha pulled you from the shadows HYDRA casted over you, proving that there’s more to you than the bad you’d done for them.
Misses Y/L/N-Romanoff opened the door to a future of happiness you thought to be unattainable.
Each alias belonging to and assisting in the creation that is the woman that single handedly changed your entire life. The woman that loves you unconditionally, that introduced you to the large group of people you call your friends, and gave you your daughter, a gift beyond your wildest dreams.
For the first time ever, with your family and friends surrounding you, you’d felt truly at peace. The demons of your past no longer loomed over you. You’d escaped the darkness they trapped you in. And nothing could mass the love and happiness it brings you.

first vs. last trimester - m!raleigh carrera x mc (plat)
author’s note: thanks for the request from my old blog, anon! i did my best to finally get this one done by @platinumweekend, hope you all enjoy!
copyright: copyright: all characters owned by pixelberry studios. series/pairing: platinum – m!raleigh carrera x mc (cadence dorian) rating/warnings: 16+; swearing; suggestive language based on/prompt: first vs. last prompts / 10. first trimester vs. last trimester word count: ~1k
first trimester
cadence groaned from where she was sprawled on the floor of their bathroom, clutching her stomach and aching head.
“why did we decide to have a baby again?” she called out.
raleigh popped his head in to the bathroom and handed her a glass of lemon water and a sour candy. cadence forced herself to sit up and take sips of the water before popping the candy into her mouth.
“uh, you forgot to use protection?” raleigh said cheekily as he helped her stand up.
cadence glared at him before moving to rinse her mouth. “try again.”
“i mean, we forgot to use protection?” he threw his hands up in exasperation as he headed back into their bedroom. “it’s not my fault your birth control failed! 99% prevention rate, my ass.”
even though they had gotten married a year ago, they had only just decided they’d like to start a family at some point in the future. cadence’s tour had just ended when she started feeling tired and nauseous all the time. and now here they were a month later, with raleigh’s newest album dropping later that night and all cadence wanted to do was curl up on the floor of the bathroom for the rest of the night.
“i don’t think i’m going to be able to make it to the party, babe. i’m sorry,” she said, walking over to the bed so she could curl up against him.
“there’s nothing for you to be sorry about. also, i’m not going to the party,” raleigh said simply, letting her rest her head on his arm.
cadence closed her eyes, a drowsiness starting to spread throughout her body. “you need to make an appearance, it’s your album release party!”
raleigh started rubbing her stomach gently. “the party can go on without me and the headlines will be hilarious tomorrow. i gotta keep my label on their toes somehow.”
she rolled her eyes at him but smiled, her eyes softening affectionately. she closed her eyes and sighed contentedly at the warmth of his hands, already halfway to sleep.
last trimester
cadence looked at her reflection in the mirror and then down at her feet, even though she knew she wouldn’t be able to see anything, not even the cute pedicure she got with zadie the other day. she sighed loudly and pulled her large shirt down to cover her stomach and walked back out into the living room.
she sat down with a groan next to raleigh on the couch, who wrapped his arm around her shoulders and placed his tablet on the top of her bump. she gave him a pointed look, only mildly annoyed that he had taken to using her baby bump as a table at times, before looking down at the screen.
pictures of their recent babymoon trip to italy were front and center. she rested her head on raleigh’s shoulder and smiled as she flipped through the photos.
“that was such a thoughtful trip from you, babe,” she said, as they looked together at the photos they took at the villa and on the beach.
raleigh turned his head to kiss her temple. “you deserve all of it and more. you’re carrying our baby after all.”
“i can’t wait until she’s out and i’m not a bloated whale anymore,” cadence moaned, shifting in her seat to try to get more comfortable. “if i see one more tabloid article about my weight, i swear i’ll—”
“hey, what if we hide out until after the baby’s born?” raleigh asked, helping cadence adjust so he could massage her shoulders.
she turned to try to look back at him. “really? like we just get out of the public eye for a few months?”
he shrugged. “or a year, i don’t care. i just want you and our baby to be healthy and safe.”
she beamed at him. “let’s do it!”
she still had about eight weeks to go and after getting cleared by her doctor to travel, they packed up their bags and headed to the cozy little house they bought by the water in her hometown. just knowing they were leaving new york city had an immediate calming effect on cadence’s nerves and she let herself enjoy being pampered by raleigh for the remaining weeks.
“babe? i’m back from the store!” raleigh called out, unloading bags of groceries and home improvement products out on the dining table.
“i’m in the nursery!” cadence replied before returning her attention to the wall she was painting.
raleigh immediately sprinted over to the ladder that cadence was on. “please come down, you really shouldn’t be using the ladder or painting!”
cadence rolled her eyes. “you worry too much. the paint is perfectly safe, and this is really more of a stepstool than a ladder.”
he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “i know, it’s just… the baby will be here soon and i’m a little nervous.”
she raised one eyebrow at him. “just a little nervous? you practice driving to the hospital every other day.”
“can you blame me? traffic in this town is unpredictable! and what if you go into labor during rush hour?”
cadence chucked and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “whatever works for you. i thought we could spend the rest of the afternoon thinking of baby names?”
raleigh’s face lit up. “can i suggest raleigh jr.?”
she shook her head. “nope, not doing that. go get the baby book of names.”
he leaned down to kiss her briefly, cupping her face in his hands. “it doesn’t matter what we name her, she’s going to be just as beautiful as her mama.”
a warmth bloomed outward from cadence’s chest and as she absentmindedly stroked her stomach, she felt like the most loved and beautiful woman in the world.

Missed Call from Alex
Jo is exhausted if she's honest with herself. At six months pregnant she’d thought that things would get easier from here on out, but she’d been foolishly wrong. She’d been dealing with a nasty resurgence of her morning sickness the past three days and her once abounding second trimester energy had now dwindled down to practically nothing. After leaving work the day before she’d barely gotten out of bed, only leaving the warm blankets to go to the bathroom or grab a snack.
She’s laying in bed, finally settled down after another bout of morning sickness, when the door to the loft slides open loudly. She ignores it at first, knowing it’s probably Alex coming to check on her, but she bolts up from her position in bed when he starts practically screaming.
“Jesus Christ Jo! I thought you were dead, you can’t reply to a text or pick up your damn phone,” Alex is clearly frantic as he paces the loft, barely acknowledging Jo’s presence. “I’ve been worried sick about you.”
“I’m sick Alex, I’ve either been asleep or throwing up since I texted you,” Jo’s voice had an edge to it as she stared Alex down. “And I don’t need you coming in here and trying to guilt trip me or whatever this is.”
“I’m not trying to guilt trip you, I’m trying to make sure you and our kid aren’t dead!”
“Well now that you know we aren’t you can leave Alex. You probably wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for Meredith getting sick,” Jo could feel her anger boiling as she looked at Alex. She knew her words were a low blow, but her anger and her hormones won out as she continued to yell at him. “I am more than capable of taking care of myself and our son without you constantly keeping tabs on us. That’s not your job anymore, you’re not my husband! You’re just the guy who knocked me up and then left for three months after telling me for years that you would never leave. You left and you weren’t coming back and the only reason you did is because I’m pregnant. If I wasn’t then you wouldn’t be here acting like you care… Do you think I don’t realize that? I get it, I’m nothing to you anymore and you’re only here for the baby. Well your son is fine and I’m fine too so please just get out.”
There was a moment of silence as Jo and Alex stared at each other, her eyes alight with anger and frustration. She settled herself back into bed with her back facing the door, holding her breath until she heard the door to the loft slide shut again and Alex’s footsteps retreat downstairs. When she finally released the breath she had been holding, a shaking round of tears followed it.
She didn’t know if she believed the words she’d spat at Alex, at one point she did but now she wasn’t so sure. He’d shown her over and over that he genuinely cared for her outside of his parental responsibilities to their son, even if he had left her behind. In truth, no matter how many therapy sessions she went to or how much her and Alex talked things out there was still a gaping hole in her chest created by the man she loved. She’d work through it, she always did, but right now all she wanted was sleep.
-
She sleeps for three hours, the longest stretch in the past few days that she’s been able to manage without throwing up. When she finally wakes her stomach is growling at her which almost makes her roll her eyes because she hasn’t been able to keep anything down lately. Jo slowly rolls out of bed and heads to the kitchen to find something to eat, but instead stops at the sight of her dining table.
There’s a large bouquet of tulips, her favorite flowers, along with ginger ale, soup, and her favorite snacks. Next to that she spots the tiniest blue striped onesie she’s ever seen, the sight bringing tears to her eyes. As she scans the spread once more, she grabs the card on the flowers and reads the barely legible writing.
Jo,
I’m sorry for the past few months. I know I’ve put you through hell but I’m trying my hardest to make it up to you and I promise I won’t stop trying. I’m a better man because of you and I hope I can be that man for you and our son.
Alex
Wiping up her tears, Jo grabs her car keys and heads down to her car. She knows she probably looks a hot mess but she drives the few blocks to Alex’s apartment anyways, barely noticing the thick sheets of rain that soak her thin pajamas as she bolts from her car into the brick building.
When Alex opens the door, she knows she looks insane but she forces the words out before he can say anything, “I’m sorry for snapping at you, you didn’t deserve that. I said a lot of things I didn’t mean because I was angry and my emotions are all over the place. That doesn’t make it right, it’s just… I’ve had a hard time lately. With everything. And I lashed out at you and I shouldn’t have.”
Alex stared at Jo for a moment before stepping into the hallway and pulling her into his embrace, “I’m sorry too, for freaking out on you, that’s the last thing you need right now. I meant what I said, I do want to be better for you. For both of you.”
“And I’m sorry for telling you that we’re having a boy by yelling it across the room at you,” Jo let a quiet laugh out as she looked up at Alex, a blush forming on her cheeks. “Maybe we can just talk things out from now on? And try to contain our tempers. Oh god, I hope our kid doesn’t have a temper.”
Alex chuckled, pressing a light kiss to Jo’s hair as he ushered her inside his apartment, “He's probably going to but you can teach him how to throw stuffed animals at the wall.”
+
“Hey, how’s your day going,” Jo tried to act as casual as she could as she leaned against the wall next to Alex who was typing up something in a chart. “Just out of curiosity, you know for a patient, how do you tell the difference between Braxton Hicks and real contractions?”
Alex’s head whipped up, eyes moving from Jo’s bump to her face. She had kept a calm demeanor as she left her surgery early, but now standing next to him she felt nervous, “You’re having contractions? Are you in labor?”
“If I knew that I wouldn’t be asking you would I,” Jo huffed as she pressed her hand against her stomach. The movement didn’t seem to calm Alex as he stared her down, his own hand coming up to sit right above hers on her belly. “I don’t think I am, I’ve just been super uncomfortable since last night. I spent an hour just sitting on the couch because I was in so much pain I couldn’t move. Actually I was kinda convinced I might just give birth then and there, but my pain went away and I got a few hours of sleep.”
Alex pressed his hand against Jo’s back as he led her down the hallway, his eyes not leaving her as they walked, “I don’t like you being alone in there all the time. What if you had actually gone into labor?”
“Then I would’ve called you.”
“And what if you couldn’t reach your phone? Or you lost too much blood and passed out,” Alex stopped walking and braced his hands on Jo’s shoulders. “I’m just worried about you and the baby. You know I always am, especially with your due date being so close.”
Eyes narrowing, Jo reflected on the past few months as she stared Alex down. After their blowout fight, Alex and her had begun to slowly work on their relationship and building it back up. It wasn’t an easy task, there had been a lot of yelling and crying and talking through things, but she was happy with where they were as the weeks leading up to their son’s arrival dwindled away on the calendar. She didn’t know what the future held for them, but she was content to just have him by her side for now.
“Well I’m not moving out of the loft if that’s what you’re insinuating,” Jo crossed her arms across her chest. “I know you’re worried but I’ll be fine.”
Alex fixed her with a serious stare, one hand coming back down to her growing bump, “Well then I'll move in, I mean if that’s okay with you. I really don’t want you to be alone and I can help when he gets here. I’ll even sleep on the couch.”
A groan left Jo as she looked up at Alex. She appreciated his help, but she didn’t need to be under constant supervision, “Alex, I’m fine. I love that you’re worried, but I don’t need a babysitter. Now I am going to go home and take a long nap, I’ll see you later.”
Jo walked away from Alex, not letting him get another word in as she headed for the residents lounge to grab her things. She knew being due next month meant that things would only get harder from here on out, but she was determined to do as much as she could by herself.
-
“Jo? I brought you dinner.”
Jo’s head popped up from her position leaning against the back of the couch, her body protesting at the sudden movement. She held back the groan she wanted to release as she watched Alex throw a takeout bag onto the kitchen counter. She’d been trying to relieve the pain that had been building in her back all day, but it seemed to have heightened as soon as she got home.
“Hey, sorry for barging in but I figured you were hungry,” Alex eyed Jo for a moment, brows crinkling when she didn’t verbally answer him. “You okay? You look a little pale.”
Jo nodded, but immediately dropped her head to her hands and let out the loud, pained groan she’d tried so hard to hold back. Her hips and back were on fire, the baby’s positioning not helping matters at all. As she tried to hold back another frustrated moan, Alex came up behind her and settled his hands on her lower back, fingers working down into her skin to release some of the pressure building there. The feeling was the first relief she’d felt all day, prompting her to immediately burst into tears. For his part, Alex was unfazed by Jo’s outburst, his fingers continuing to rub her back as she let out loud sobs.
“Hey, look at me,” Alex’s voice rang out softly after a few minutes, prompting Jo to turn and meet his eyes as he held her close. She cursed her heart as it beat out of time, stuttering at the intimacy of her and Alex’s positioning. “You don’t have to do all of this on your own. I know you can, but I’m here and I want to help you. Will you let me help?”
Pressing her head against Alex’s chest, Jo nodded as she took a deep breath. She hated to admit it, but Alex was right, she did need a little help. She hadn’t slept properly in days, her back was on fire, and her Braxton Hicks were coming at an almost constant rate now. More than anything, Jo just needed someone to support her and Alex was the best person for that role.
“Good, now let’s get you in bed. You look like you haven’t slept in a week,” Alex chuckled as he pressed a kiss to her head. The small move sparked something in Jo, despite Alex having done it more than once since returning home. Her fingers curled into his shirt, eyes turning up to meet his with a dark glint behind them. “What? What’s that look for?”
Before he could say anything else, Jo moved one hand to tangle in his hair and bring his lips down to hers. The feeling was indescribable, something she’d craved since she had dropped him off at the airport so many months ago. As if sensing the same thing, Alex kissed her back hungrily, his fingers readily finding purchase against her hips. After a moment, he pulled back and met her eyes.
“You were just crying and now you’re kissing me,” Alex chuckled, brushing back a strand of hair from her face. “I think you do need to get some sleep.”
“Will you lay down with me, I haven’t been able to sleep for like three days,” Jo’s eyes were pleading with Alex as she crawled under the covers. “He calms down when you’re around, I might actually be able to sleep for more than an hour.”
Alex obliged, kicking his shoes off and crawling into the other side of the bed. As he wrapped one arm around Jo’s expanding stomach, she closed her eyes and let her mind believe that this was a normal day for them. That they’d come home from work and were settling in for the night, that they didn’t sleep in separate apartments, that they weren’t divorced and Alex had never left. For a moment Jo let herself believe everything was okay.
Those thoughts and Alex’s presence lulled Jo into the most peaceful sleep she’d gotten in weeks. Her mind drifted off, letting her aching body rest and giving her much needed relief.
-
“He’s gonna be in the bassinet for the first few months, I don’t see why you insist on setting up the crib now,” Jo groaned as she sat herself on the couch, propping her bare feet up on the coffee table. “Can you just shove your clothes in the dresser and come sit down? Your nagging has exhausted me.”
A chuckle leaves Alex as he settles himself across the couch from Jo, reaching for her feet and pulling them into his lap, “Sorry that all of my heavy lifting and asking you where I should put things has bothered you.”
A noncommittal groan left Jo as her eyes fluttered closed, one hand floating down to her bump as Alex rubbed her swollen feet. He’d been at the loft every night since their agreement last week, making sure that he was able to help Jo sleep and stopping their son from keeping her up all night. Jo was thankful for the reprieve, even more thankful when Alex hadn’t batted an eye at her request for help relieving some of her more… primal urges that had sparked since her raging hormones had taken over her body. She’d fight anyone that insinuated that her and Alex were together, because they definitely weren’t, but she had a hard time denying the fact that sex with him was just as great if not better than it had always been.
Even being so far along in her pregnancy, Alex seemed to know what her body craved even more than she did. The way that they still worked so well on a physical level was no shock to Jo, but Alex’s uncanny ability to make her come undone and feel completely satisfied still shocked her. The first time they’d had sex again Jo had come three times before he’d even taken his pants off.
“You want me to order dinner? We can get Chinese if you want,” Jo barely registered Alex’s voice as his fingers moved across her skin. She could tell her body was already reacting to the feeling of him so close to her, her mind desperately trying to fight off the growing heat between her legs. “Jooooo? You in there?”
Jo peeks her eyes open, meeting Alex’s gaze with a grin. She moves one hand to grab his shirt and pull him closer to her, a chuckle leaving him as he understands exactly what she’s asking for.
“You’re insatiable,” Alex’s tone is light as his lips trail down to Jo’s neck. “I wouldn’t be shocked if sex is what sends you into labor.”
“Your dirty talk needs some work,” Jo groans as one of Alex’s hands trails up her body to brush against her breast. “But you might have a point…”
+
When Jo rolls over to glance at the clock, she's beyond frustrated that it tells her it’s midnight. She’d fallen asleep not even two hours ago after tossing and turning for 45 minutes trying to get comfortable between intermittent Braxton Hicks contractions. Resigning herself to another night of insomnia, she rolls out of bed and heads for the bathroom.
“You know, you’re being a real pain in the ass,” Jo groans as she looks down to her belly, a kick hitting her bladder as she flips on the bathroom light. “Yeah, you’re definitely a Karev.”
Finishing up in the bathroom, Jo walks quietly back to bed and settles herself above the covers. She knew she’d have to pee again soon and didn’t want to bother climbing all the way into bed again only to climb right back out.
After her scare early on in her pregnancy, Jo was just grateful to be carrying her baby still. But with only a few days left until her due date, she was growing more and more frustrated as her body began to prepare for labor. She hated how she couldn’t go more than an hour or two without feeling like she was going to pee her pants, how her back was constantly in pain no matter how she laid herself across the bed, how her son was now so large that even taking a deep breath was a monumental task.
It didn’t help that she’d been on maternity leave for the past two weeks and had been home alone bored out of her mind most of the time. She’d cleaned the loft, organized both her and Alex’s dressers, washed and folded all of the baby clothes, and watched every season of Friends. Jo almost wanted to go into labor just to have something to do that wasn’t cleaning.
Just as she’d predicted her bladder began screaming at her once again, prompting Jo to pull herself off of the bed and head back towards the bathroom. To her shock however, a loud pop sounded as soon as she stood, her feet instantly soaked by the rush of liquid now pooling on the ground.
“Alex… Alex! Wake up,” Jo tossed her pillow at Alex’s sleeping form across the bed, watching as he slowly began to wake. She felt bad knowing he’d just come off a long shift the night before, but she needed him. “Alex!”
The lights in the bedroom flicked on as Jo let out a low groan and reached for the edge of the bed, a sharp pain running through her stomach as she clenched the blankets tightly. A warm hand settled on her back, calming Jo slightly as her mind began to race, “How long have you been up?”
“Twenty minutes, but my water just broke,” Jo took a deep breath as she blindly reached for Alex’s hand. “Sorry I woke you up.”
“Don’t be sorry, what else am I gonna do right now,” Alex pressed a kiss against the side of Jo’s head as his hand continued to rub soothing circles into her back. “Will you be okay if I go throw the bags in the car real quick?”
Jo nods at him, but as soon as his hands aren’t on her anymore she wants to call out and bring him back to her. She’d gotten used to being so close to Alex, his hands constantly near her as he rubbed her aching feet or back and moved his hand across her belly to feel the baby’s movements. She’d even made it a habit of curling up next to him when he crawled into bed after a long shift, his hands always moving to pull her closer as she buried her face into his chest. When he’d moved back into the loft to make things easier when the baby came she’d been hesitant, but Jo couldn’t help how comforting she found his presence.
“Cars packed and I called the hospital so they know we’re on our way,” Jo looked up, Alex’s voice startling her out of her thoughts. His hands fell to her lower back again as she leaned against his chest, the feeling relaxing Jo as another contraction rushed through her body. “Those are pretty close together, how long have you been having contractions?”
“On and off since you left for work yesterday morning,” a groan left Jo as she braced her hands on Alex’s shoulders, the pain radiating through her stomach growing stronger. “Nothing this bad though.”
“Well let’s get going then, I’d like to avoid you giving birth in my car,” a small chuckle left Jo as Alex led her out of the loft. The next time they’d walk through the doors they’d have a baby with them. “Hey I was wrong! Sex didn’t put you into labor!”
“Shut up Alex.”
+
The exhaustion that falls over Jo as she leans into Alex is only surpassed by her joy at the squirming bundle that’s being placed on her chest. A head of dark curls greets her as she presses the infant close to her, fingers coming up to brush the soft skin of her son's cheek.
“You’re here, you’re real,” Jo laughs wetly as she looks down at the baby in her arms, her son, tears instantly welling in her eyes. “Oh my god your head is huge.”
“Sorry about that, that’s my bad,” Alex’s voice rings out from behind her, prompting Jo to shift closer to him as he presses one hand on the baby’s back and another against her arm in a comforting gesture. “You did so good, you’re a freaking rockstar.”
As she sits with her newborn snuggled against her and Alex’s arms wrapped around her, Jo thinks that she could stay right there forever. The pain, the heartbreak, the worry, all of it fades as she relishes in the feeling of the two people she loves most by her side. She’d been through so much in her life, lows she never wanted to relive, highs she would remember forever. All of it seems to pass by her eyes in a flash as she zones into this moment, the one moment she’s sure she’ll never forget as long as she lives.
In a second, without warning, Jo realizes that nothing else mattered. What had happened before, the grudges she’d held, the words spoken and not between her and Alex over the past year didn’t matter. He was here, with her and with their son and she knew he wasn’t leaving. He didn’t have to say it, didn’t have to promise anything or beg for her to let him in. His arms holding her close and his fingers brushing at their son’s curls reminded her that things had changed so much already.
“I love you,” Jo whispers as she lays her head on Alex’s chest, her eyes still trained on the baby in her arms. “I love you so much Alex.”
There’s a pause, a stillness in the air as Alex freezes next to her. The words that they’d exchanged so freely before now held a heavier meaning, they meant more this time around. His fingers moving slowly up and down her arm stop for a moment, continuing again as he presses a kiss to her temple, “I love you too Jo.”
She doesn’t know how long they sit like that, both of them staring down in awe at the little boy they’d created together. Alex tells him about how he was certain that they’d conceived him in the backseat of his car, Jo chuckling at the ridiculous story as her eyes fought to stay open. She’d been in labor for almost five hours and had been pushing for another, the event taking its toll on her as she leaned against Alex and shut her eyes.
“You sleep, I'll take him and we’ll be here when you wake up,” Alex grabs the infant from her arms, Jo peeking her eyes open to marvel at the sight of their son nuzzled against him. “Tell mama to take a nap, she deserves it.”
Jo watches the two for a moment more before closing her eyes and letting the joy she felt wash over her, lulling her into a peaceful sleep.
+
Jo wakes to small cries and the sound of someone singing softly. The cries lessen as the singing gets a little louder, the rough melodic voice singing some rock song that was not appropriate lullaby music. Sitting up in bed, she lets her eyes adjust before making out the silhouette of Alex rocking their two week old son to sleep.
“Is he hungry? I can take him,” Alex’s head popped up in surprise at Jo’s voice, his face illuminated by the low light shining from the kitchen.
“No, he’s almost back down. I gave him a bottle already,” Alex rocked back and forth a few more times before smirking up at Jo. “You go back to sleep, you need it.”
Settling her head back into the pillows, Jo watched both boys for a few minutes until Alex settled the baby back into his bassinet. Satisfied that the infant was going to stay down, he crawled back into bed and pulled Jo into his arms, “I thought I told you to go back to sleep.”
“Mmm yeah but you and Max looked too cute,” one hand trailed up to Alex’s face as Jo snuggled against him. “Besides it gets cold in here without you.”
A chuckle left Alex as his hands wrapped around Jo, bringing her flush against his chest as his lips brushed a kiss against her hair, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Jo settled her head against Alex’s chest, letting the steady beat of his heart calm her own body.
Jo’s eyes close again, her mind drifting to think of Luna, of the concern she’d had that her son might end up alone and scared like she had been. She knew that the little girl was probably sleeping in her crib at home, her mom healthy and snoozing beside her, the thought comforting her slightly. As she thought of Alex and the way he cared so deeply about her and Max, Jo knew she’d never have to worry about either of them being alone again.

Chapter 7 Never Ending
Valtoria's Hospital, Cordonia...
"Sit down." Hana patted the seat next to her. "You've been pacing for hours."
Maxwell shook his head. "I'm too nervous."
"One would think you were the expectant father." Olivia remarked.
"I am kinda responsible for this." He smiled at the thought. "After all, I'm the one that talked Riley into coming to Cordonia in the first place."
Liam and Elisse returned to the private waiting room.
"Any news yet?" Hana asked.
"It's begun." Liam explained. "A nurse told us that Riley is doing well. Drake is a nervous wreck."
"Sounds about right." Olivia grumbled, standing up to stretch.
She smiled when Elisse handed her a bag of salt and vinegar chips.
The cravings had begun, and as much as it surprised the sugary treat loving parents, the triplets were causing Olivia to want salty and sour foods.
"Thank you." She popped one of the chips in her mouth, sighing in delight.
Liam shook his head. "Are we sure those are our children doing this?" He teased.
"I think it's their way of showing how much they appreciate Olivia taking care of them." Elisse added with a laugh. "They know she isn't as fond of desserts as we are."
The duchess rolled her eyes even though she was secretly touched at Elisse's words. The thought that the babies would go out of their way to keep her as comfortable as she could be seemed more like the royal couple than anything else.
Each evening, after she got settled in bed, she would talk to the triplets. Olivia shared childhood memories of her years growing up with Liam. She told them observations and conclusions she had made concerning Elisse.
She would never tell anyone else she did such, in what was her opinion, ridiculous things. Yet, a part of her wanted the babies to know how important she, herself, thought they were. How much she cared for Liam and Elisse...and now their family.
The fact that she was giving the royal couple what was once thought impossible brought a pricking of tears to her eyes.
"Damn hormones." She grumbled, blinking rapidly to keep the tears from slipping out.
Drake chose that moment to burst into the waiting room.
"She's here!" His smile practically glowed. "The baby is perfect. Looks just like Brooks!"
Everyone voiced their congratulations while Olivia gave up the battle and allowed her tears to fall.
At least I'm not the only one crying.
Hana was delicately dabbing at her own eyes while Maxwell bawled.
Soon they were taken to see the newest Walker.
"Everyone," Riley said softly, "meet Hope." She handed the infant to Drake. "She hasn't quite learned that one should stay awake when company visits."
After Hana cuddled her close she passed the baby to Liam.
He regarded the bundle in pink blankets, thinking about her nearly being the heir to the throne.
He wasn't about to question how all that he had gone through the last few years had led to his life resembling one he could have never imagined.
Each misfortune he had suffered had somehow pushed him toward his finally finding a happiness all his own.
Leo's abdication led to meeting Riley. Though their love had not endured, it had revealed to him what he had truly needed in a significant other. It gave him the courage to not allow anything to take it away from him again if given another chance to fall in love.
If he had not been so impatient in naming an heir, then he never would have had a chance to really get to know Elisse. He might have encountered her down the road at some international event, but would he have pursued her?
Would she have pursued him?
He handed Elisse the baby, watching as a tender smile formed on her lips. He knew they both were imagining what it would be like to hold their babies.
His eyes rested on Olivia. She had one hand protectively over her slight baby bump.
If her parents had not died in a traitorous act, then she might not have volunteered so readily to being a surrogate. Would she be such close friends to Liam if they had lived? Would she have been so willing to do whatever sacrifice was needed for Cordonia?
Seeing now that there had to have been some kind of grand design in each heart wrenching moment in their lives to lead them to what they were meant to have helped when reflecting back on the past.
Once Hope was back in Riley's arms, he quietly observed Drake with his family.
He had once held bitterness toward him for taking the one he had lost his heart to. And yet, now that he had Elisse and a family of his own in the making, he couldn't feel anything other than a simple joy that his best friend had found a happiness all his own.
Seeing them together with their little public displays of affection didn't phase him at all. There was no twinge of pain. No...nothing.
Elisse slipped her hand in his, drawing him away from reminiscing.
Liam lifted her hand to his lips, smiling when she rested her head against his shoulder.
The future lay before them and he was more than excited at what was next for them.
***************
Beginning of the third trimester, the Royal Palace...
"You're going to have to stop traveling." Ethan explained. "In fact, I'm putting you on bedrest."
"For how long?" Olivia asked.
"For the rest of the pregnancy."
Preparing for an argument, Ethan was surprised when Olivia dropped her head into her hands.
Her shoulders shook with silent sobs.
Elisse laid a hand on her back, trying to soothe her.
"Olivia?" Liam gently touched her shoulder. "Are you in pain?"
"No." Her voice cracked. She lifted her eyes to Ethan's. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No. Not at all." He reached over and placed his hand on top of hers. "This happens often when carrying multiples."
She took deep breaths to try and call down.
"I'm sorry." She wiped her eyes. "I seem to be crying over everything lately."
Elisse shushed her while Liam praised how well she had been doing.
Once the couple were reassured that everything was still looking well, they left after hearing the babies' heartbeats.
"I want to monitor you through the night." Ethan explained when Olivia moved to return to her room.
"You do?" Her eyes narrowed. "Why?"
"You've had two bouts of contractions." He continued to type his notes, believing that to be the end of their conversation.
"Can't I be monitored in my room?"
"No."
"Ethan!"
He lifted his eyebrows at her outburst.
"Can I at least move to the hospital bed, or were you intending on me staying on the examining table from now on?" She snapped.
"Olivia, what's wrong?"
She folded her arms over her stomach. "Nothing."
"Nothing?" He snorted softly.
"Yes, nothing." She grumbled. "Nothing you would be concerned over or even consider worthwhile."
He closed his laptop and gave her his full attention. "Does it involve you?"
"Obviously." She averted her eyes. "Why else would I be sitting here?"
He rose and helped her off the table. "Come on. Let's get you settled, then you can tell me what is going on in that head of yours."
"Why must you make it sound like I'm some emotional idiot?" She raised her shirt for him to place the tocodynamometer around her belly.
"I don't do that." He argued.
"Yes, you do." She placed her hand where a little knee or elbow was pressing. "Even the heirs agree."
He snorted softly. "My apologies. I thought I treated you rather well."
"You do." She admitted. "I don't know why I'm trying to fight with you."
When she kept her eyes downcast, Ethan pulled a chair next to her bed and sat down. "I have all the time in the world to hear what is really wrong."
"I'm..." She grit her teeth, hating the words that were about to come out. "I'm scared."
"Of?"
She shot a glare at him for making her explain. "Of giving birth." Needing to justify herself, she hurried to defend such a feeling. "This isn't something I could train for. And given the few women I know who have given birth, no one has the same experience."
"That's true."
Olivia tried to wait patiently to see if he would say anything else. When he simply looked at her, she felt her irritation return.
"That's true? That's all you have to say?!"
He shrugged. "Well I certainly don't have any first hand experience to offer."
"Your bedside manner is remarkable."
He leaned forward and placed his hand on hers that rested on her belly. "I don't know how this will go. I can give you medical facts and statistics, but they will do little to ease your mind. I can tell you about all the successes I have had as a doctor. It still won't matter."
"You're making it worse." She tried to pull her hand away.
Ethan gripped her fingers. "What I can tell you is that I will do everything within my power to get you and the triplets through this." His thumb brushed her hand. "I will be right by your side if we do have to perform a cesarean. I will make certain you have the best of everything."
She studied his face, feeling reassured by the calm determination stamped in his features.
With a squeeze of his hand, she relaxed back against her pillows. "Thank you Ethan."
He smiled softly at her while settling in for a night of monitoring.

Nearly two months later...
Elisse trembled as she tried to put on the surgical gown she was given. She crammed her hair under the cap while trying not to think that within minutes, she would see her children being born.
When Olivia's contractions started the night before, Elisse and Liam had rushed from their bedroom knowing that this could very well be the moment.
There had been numerous false alarms, but this one was finally it. What they had not anticipated was how long it was taking.
Ethan and some obstetricians he had worked with in Boston had decided that a vaginal birth did not seem to be possible. One of the triplets was still in a breached position and blocking the other two.
Olivia had taken the news well, though most of the color had drained from her face. She was already exhausted from the nearly twenty hours of contractions and silent worry. She gripped Ethan's hand when he tried to leave to prepare.
"I'm only leaving to change." He explained.
"Then you'll come back?" She asked.
"I promised you didn't I?" He asked.
She nodded.
He was surprised when she pressed his hand to her cheek.
"Thank you." She breathed as another contraction began. Her fingers tangled with his as it caused a groan of pain to slip out.
He waited until she relaxed before easing his hand away. "I'll be back."
Liam and Elisse had followed him out.
"Will she be alright?" Liam asked.
"Yes." Ethan scrubbed his hands and arms. "Dr. Lahela is one of the best surgeons I've worked with. With him and the obstetric team on hand. All four of our patients should do well."
Elisse had remained quiet as the medical team rushed to set up the room for the delivery. Her eyes followed the young, handsome surgeon who greeted everyone with a confident smile.
Liam stepped up beside her and gently squeezed her hand. "This is it, my love."
She tilted her head to the side, noticing the crinkle around his eyes. Though the surgical mask hid the lower half of his face, there was no denying his excited smile.
She let go of his hand to hug him.
He held her close, resting his cheek on top of her head.
"I love you, Liam." She raised her eyes to capture his. "Our life, our family, is more than I could have ever hoped for."
He tenderly cupped her cheek. "I love you too." He took her hand and pulled her along. "Now let's go meet our children."
The pair stood at Olivia's head while the cesarean was performed. Liam kept his arm around Elisse as they waited for the first glimpse of their children.
The duchess kept her eyes on Ethan's profile. He had taken her hand as soon as he returned to her side. When Bryce had placed the scalpel to her abdomen, Ethan had intertwined his fingers with hers. His piercing gaze went from the procedure to her face. Seeing her remain calm helped him to focus once more on the birth.
Bryce lifted one of the babies out. "Looks like you have a prince." He smiled at the couple who watched anxiously as the nurses and assisting doctors cleaned and examined the wailing newborn.
"And his twin brother." Bryce removed another, chuckling when the crying infant peed on a nurse. "He'll be trouble."
Elisse covered her mouth as tears streamed down her cheeks. She placed her other hand on Olivia's shoulder as Bryce delivered the smaller of the three.
"Poor little princess, trapped with those rowdy boys." He chuckled when her softer wail was given as a response. He looked up at the royal couple. "Congratulations, your majesties. You have a family."
****************
A couple of hours later, Elisse and Liam sat with Olivia. Each held one of the babies that had been born.
"What will you name them?" Olivia asked, smiling when the little prince frowned at her.
"We never did decide on names for a boy." Liam chuckled when the crown prince in his arms yawned.
"Our princess shall of course hold the name that means the most to us." Elisse placed a kiss on her daughter's forehead.
Liam smiled in agreement. "Hopefully she will carry it well."
"What are you going to call her?" Olivia asked.
"Libby for short." Elisse replied. "Princess Olivia for all formal occasions."

Epilogue, Applewood Manor, four years later...
Liam chased after his children in the apple orchard. Their squeals drew laughter from Elisse as she set out their picnic.
When Libby was swept up in her father's arms, her brothers, Connor and Christopher, each tried to save her by grabbing onto Liam's legs.
Liam playfully dropped to the ground. "Help!" He cried out to his wife. "I'm outnumbered again!"
Elisse rushed over, to only collapse in giggles when the triplets rushed into her arms.
Liam watched them, feeling as if his heart would burst with pride over his family.
These last five years had been the happiest of his life. His marriage to Elisse had been what he and Corodnia had needed. The birth of their children had been a day of celebration across the country.
Peace and prosperity had followed.
Amalas visited often with her allies, causing Cordonia to be one of the most sought after countries in the EU. Trade and tourism grew from these alliances. Cordonia's unemployment rate became nearly nonexistent, causing more contentment than the country had seen in the last three hundred years.
As the triplets grew and the people caught glimpses of their sweet personalities, they were just as beloved as their parents were.
Elisse drew him from his thoughts when she spoke to the children about their upcoming trip for a wedding.
Olivia had been hailed by everyone as a hero. Liam and Elisse took every chance they could to say that they wouldn't have their children if not for her generous offer. No one, they said, could have done a better job.
Olivia had returned to Lythikos shortly after giving birth. Ethan had gone with her to assist in her recovery and to begin the plans for a research hospital. They had developed a close bond during those months of pregnancy. It only became stronger the more they worked together.
Though most of her friends whispered that there was something more between the fiery duchess and renowned physician, nothing seem to come about from their time together.
At least, that's what they thought.
Imagine everyone's surprise when one night at a ball in in the palace, Olivia asked Liam and Elisse if the triplets could be in her wedding.
"Wedding?!" Riley sputtered. "You're getting married?!"
"Why else would I ask for ring bearers and flower girls?" Olivia rolled her eyes. "And I suppose I will need Hope as a flower girl also to make it even."
"Who's the lucky guy?" Drake asked, unable to imagine anyone voluntarily tying his life to her.
"Who else?" Came a deep voice from behind them.
Ethan came around and stood next to Olivia. His hand found hers while they met everyone's curious stares.
After congratulations were given and promises that the children would do their best, Olivia and Ethan had left the group to dance.
Speculation amongst the group of how and when were whispered. Knowing the pair well, Elisse knew that guessing was all they would get. Neither Ethan nor Olivia would likely tell them anything about their love life.
She couldn't help but secretly hope that her fertility issues had somehow helped in putting them together.
She believed she owed them everything. Both had a hand in giving her and Liam their hearts' only wish for a family.
Elisse had suspected a closeness between them but had never said anything about it. She knew that neither Ethan nor Olivia would appreciate any interference, much less attention toward their relationship.
Watching the couple as they danced, she couldn't imagine any two people she thought deserved to find happiness more than them.
Months of wedding planning went by. Practice and fittings were completed. People from near and far were making the journey to the cathedral nestled in the snowy mountains.
"Mommy?" Libby asked once they were seated on the picnic blanket. "Can I keep some of the flowers? I don't want to throw them all."
"Do we get to throw the rings?" Connor asked.
"And the pillow?" Christopher pretended to throw an imaginary pillow at his brother, laughing when Connor pretended to be knocked down by it.
"I don't think that is quite what Olivia and Ethan want." Liam explained. "I suggest you keep to how we practiced."
"We will." Christopher promised.
"And we can always pick more flowers." Elisse reminded Libby. "You want Olivia to have a pretty aisle to walk down, don't you?"
The couple shared a smile when Libby quickly agreed to make it beautiful with the petals she would be given to toss.
Their children kept up a happy chatter about the upcoming trip. Snowmen, snowball fights, and sledding were planned amongst the three.
Liam reached for Elisse's hand as they listened to the cheerful voices. She scooted closer to him to kiss his cheek.
He returned the kiss, a soft smile forming with the thought that his life was filled with endless moments like this.
Everything he had ever wanted was right here.

Was wondering if you could write about the reader finding out she has endometriosis and has to have surgery to remove it and then is scared to talk to Niall about maybe never being able to have a baby. Don’t know if this makes sense but it’s something I’m going through the now xx

NOTE: endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is a disorder where the tissue lining the inside of the uterus grows on the outside. It can occur in various stages (mininal, mild, moderate, and severe) and can result in excruciating abdominal/pelvic pain during and off menstruation and also infertility.

Dream - N. Horan Imagine
Niall was an old-fashioned man. Despite being born and growing up surrounded by media platforms of all fashions, he was classic in a nutshell. He was one very few would come to know today, who met his wife in person, rather than Tinder. Their first date ended with a hug neither of them wanted to leave, and not his bedroom she would try creeping out of the following morning. The big day took place in an Ireland cathedral; the very same cathedral Niall’s brother was married to his wife.
Amidst your honeymoon, Niall brought up his life plan to you. Of course, it had not been the first time you heard the whole “white-picket-fence, soft cottage” spiel. This was, however, the first time you teared up listening to it. You played it off like the trembling of your lip and quaver of your voice when you said “that sounds perfect” were all from joy. And Niall bought the fib on the spot, pulling your body against his chest and cheering through the whole new caliber of excitement he’s never claimed to reach before.
Today marks precisely a year from that, which Niall had recited many times to be the moment he wanted to “begin trying.” Unfortunately, your period struck you (quite painfully) last week, which made asking for a raincheck impossible. Rather, tonight was when you had to inform him of your decision. You tried everything you could to lighten the blow of the news while he was cleaning up his things at the studio. You cleaned the house yourself, top to bottom through your unwanted pain. You made his favorite meal (which you had decided weeks in advance to make) but elevated the dish with the little amount of culinary skill you possessed. You even went as far as to light a few candles and douse yourself with a perfume you owned that drove him wild.
You wanted the night to end like it usually did, but you knew within you that a little part of Niall’s heart was going to break along with this idea he has fantasized over for years.  The moment you laid both of the plates on the table, the front door swung open to reveal Niall with a box of sundry items from the studio, and a guitar case pressed to his back.
“Hey, love is that…” He peered into the kitchen to eye the dishes and take in the familiar aroma of both the meal and your perfume. “I thought we were going out tonight, I wanted to treat you.” He nearly whines, while you just let a small smile overtake your lips.
“You always treat me, Ni. I just wanted tonight to be more…intimate.” The failure to find a better word left you inwardly cringing. But Niall made sure to let you see the rise of his eyebrows and darkening of his eyes clear in the dim light. The candle’s flame did well to flick across his bearded jaw and present his tongue peeking out to wet his lips. With a firm not, he stepped out of the kitchen to go put his things away in your bedroom, while you stood there with a sigh.
You were certain at the doctor’s office. All week long at work, you were drowning your qualms in affirmatory thoughts that this was the best route. But seeing Niall’s blue eyes cast his gaze on you like you were practically glowing with fertility made a hand of yours come up to scrub your face. It made each doubt swamp your insides and impossible to dispel. “Ready to eat, petal?” You drop your hand and glance up when Niall’s frame was back in the kitchen and turned away as he scrubbed his hands in the sink.
“Mhm.” The two of you sat down and began eating with one hand. Your other was locked with his across the table. Soon after the first bite, Niall was moaning in satisfaction over the flavor.
“Damn this is good, baby! Gonna have to pass this recipe on to the family…what’d you do to it?”
The word family made you freeze and let your fork slip from your now shaky hand and clatter onto the tile below.
“Love? Are you alrigh’?” His brows were furrowed in an instant as he squeezed your hand. You reciprocated the action and looked up at him with a blurry shield coating both of your eyes.
“Um…Ni I need to…tell you something.” Your voice was straining through your teeth as it came out in various cracks. His eyes scan your apprehensive figure up and down in concern, and he gave your hand another squeeze as a cue to continue. “You know how I’ve been having painful…periods. You know how they’ve been hurting more than usual?” Niall nods, still looking unsure at your current state. You’ve vocalized plenty of times during your time of the month for close to a year now of how your insides felt to Niall.
At first, it was a mild increase of aches, something you brushed off along with Niall because you were certain it was normal. But as the months went on, it slowly built into anticipation of pure agony when the week from hell began. You were taking pain medication as though it were candy and have had to call out from work more than you would like to admit due to the anguish your abdomen suffered. These previous months, though, you’ve noticed the pain’s prominence at a new level entirely, and how it is present even without your period happening.
“Well…I went to the clinic a couple of weeks ago for tests, and they came back a few days ago. Do you know what endometriosis is?”
Niall felt guilty for not being well-versed with the topic. And you were expecting him to shake his head before he even did. You give a brief explanation of the diagnosis the doctor had given you a few days ago over the phone and let him sit for a few moments to soak in the new information.
“So…what does this mean?” throughout the conversation his hand never left your grasp. It was as tight as ever in your hold.
“Well…my two options were suffering or surgery. I chose the latter…” Niall nods. “But that’s not what the problem is.” He looks up from his plate into your eyes. His blues were wide and afraid of what information could follow up the good news of your pain finally coming to an end. “A possible symptom of endometriosis is infertility. But it’s also a risk factor of surgery. So, I don’t know if I can have kids now or be able to after surgery. My mom was diagnosed with it after having me…the doctor’s told her she only had a twenty percent chance and they thought she was going to lose me within the first trimester.”
Niall remained silent in his chair for a few moments. When he finally found the courage to speak up, he managed to let a single word out. “Oh…”
“Honey, I know you’ve had this big plan in your head. And I know you wanted so badly for the next part to start tonight, but Niall…I can’t live in pain any longer. I don’t know how good my chances are and I don’t know how much they could increase or decline if it does happen. But I don’t want to risk it and get our hopes up…” Your voice broke off in a whisper towards the end, as tears slid down your face in substitution of an explanation you felt guilty giving. “Chances are, I could be more fertile post-surgery but…”
“But you also couldn’t,” Niall concludes. Your streaming eyes look down at your plate of barely touched food as you send him a half-hearted nod from the table. You suck in a sharp breath and bring your hands up to your face immediately after, your grip leaving him to cover your red face dripping with searing tears.
“I’m sorry.”
“No, petal why are you apologizing—”
“Because you wanted this for so long Ni! This was like your biggest dream in the world and I am sitting here crushing it! You don’t deserve this…you don’t deserve me—”
“Stop. Stop right now, don’t even go there.” Niall orders, leaving your voice to drop. He shakes his head as you lift yours to look at him. His hand slides across the table, face-up, and ready to take yours again. When you finally did, the warmth of his grip trapped yours and brought them to the middle of the table once again.
“When I was sixteen my biggest dream was t’ make music. When I was twenty-two and met the most gorgeous woman I’d ever seen in my life, my dream changed to making her fall in love with me. For months before I finally popped the question I was dreaming of scenarios in my head of which time and place would be the best to do it.” You stayed silent but felt your insides warming at all of this information. How he could still adore you with his whole heart when it felt like only moments ago you had broken it, was beyond you. “I never planned to be put in a band and go solo afterward with no words spoken. More importantly, I never planned to meet you or propose to you three years after. Things like this creep up on us and we can’t help them. Yes, I did want to have kids of my own but…I do want your health to be a top priority also.”
“Really? Y-you’re not mad?”
“Of course, I’m not mad, love. It’s a little upsetting but shit, it’s the 21st century there are a million ways to have a kid at this point. I don’t care how we have them I just want to have them with you and while you’re healthy.” More tears fall from your eyes, ones which Niall does not hesitate to lean over and brush away with his free hand.
“Oh, and uh…” you sniffle. “we can still have sex and stuff before the surgery, ya know.” You croak, leaving Niall to lightly chuckle from across the table.
“Good to know.”
