New family 🥀
Bang Chan x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: mention of abuse and sexual trauma
(Pt. 1) — (Pt. 2)
——————————— 🥀 ———————————
Home life was toxic and your childhood was rough. It’s only recently that you moved out of your mom’s house and since then, you only really keep in contact with your siblings.
The whole family dynamic was toxic. From your immediate to extended. Your mom was verbally abusive. Your our dad… well we don’t even talk about him. He went to prison when you were a baby and that’s all you know.
Although you did grow up with a stepdad. A straight up abusive narcissist. Your sibling were your half siblings so you were the stepchild to him. And he abused you on the daily. Verbal, physical, and even sexual… until you finally reported him. But even then, he just moved out.
Living with your mom as an adult was also tense as you two never got along
Eventually you had a moment of clarity. Realizing that this isn’t normal. So you tried cutting them off. It’s hard and you deal with the turmoil of that constantly…
~~~~
You had a friend named Chan, well actually his name was Chris but Chan was a nickname he liked. You met him in college and have been a little more than friends ever since. You never officially dated for a while, only flirting really. Although you suppose you’re dating now since he’s taken you home to meet his family already…
He was so kind. The sweetest guy you’ve ever met. Always so patient with you and loving. He knows your boundaries and always checks in on you.
You’ve told him about your family and he listens, knowing that some people just want someone to listen.
He also supported your dreams, heck his whole family did. He was a producer, and a good one at that, so when you told him that your dream was to be a dancer, he was excited for you and did everything he could to help you. This is the most support you’ve gotten from someone in your whole life.
Often times you felt like a burden. You weren’t the most physically affectionate and you needed constant reassurance that you’re not annoying.
One day you were having it particularly rough. You weren’t sure exactly what it was but your depression was really hitting hard.
Your boyfriend had sensed something was wrong when chatting on the phone with you so he came over.
He did his best to cheer you up. On his way there he picked up your favorite boba drink and some food.
You were happy to see him and gave him a tight hug the second he stepped in.
As you ate lunch, he asked you what was up.
“My mom called me…” you said with a sigh.
“Yeah?”
“It just… wasn’t good.”
“I understand.” He said while patting your hand. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”
You nodded and continued eating. “How’s the new song going?”
“It’s great. Almost finished!” He replied with a smile. “This is definitely going to be one of my best works.”
“All your work is the best.” You said with a giggle.
“Yeah well, how’s my pretty girl doing? Any auditions lately?”
“Yeah I’m gonna be a back up dance in another music video. I just got the call yesterday.” You said with excitement.
“And you didn’t tell me?” He said in a teasing voice.
“Well I didn’t want to bug you, Channie.”
“You never bug me babygirl.” He replied with a sigh. “Never ever.”
After lunch you both went to the living room to relax. Sometimes you just liked laying with him. He was so warm.
A buzz from your phone, got you distracted from a moment. You looked at the text message and got quiet. It was from your mom.
> Why can’t you just be happy?
You hate when she says that. Always disregards your feelings. You got up and went to your room. Chan was confused and followed after you, just to see you crying on the bed.
“Babygirl, what happened?” He said while sitting next to you.
“Why is she like this?!” You cried. “She can’t just leave me alone!”
Chan looked at the message and hugged you.
“It’s okay, baby—”
“No it’s not!” You blurted out while standing up: “I hate it! I hate it! I hate it!!”
You shook your head, seemingly trying to pull your hair out.
“Okay. Okay.” He said calmly while taking your hands. He was still sitting and had you stand in front of him. “Babygirl, don’t hurt yourself. Look at me…”
You paused and only looked at him with a pout.
Chan wiped your tears and frowned. He hated seeing you like this. He wants to take you away from all this. He wants you to live with him and leave everything behind.
As you continued crying, you sat on his lap and hugged him, crying and sobbing into his shoulder.
“Do you want a new family?”
“What…?” You asked while pulling back.
“A new family. One that loves and supports you.” Chan said while rubbing your cheek. “You know, my parents have always liked you… and my siblings… and extended…”
You teared up. The idea of a family… a non toxic and loving family just taking you in as their own… it was a lot.
“A family that… loves each other… and supports each other….?” You said, more thinking out loud. “N-no bad touching… n-no yelling at me…?”
“No family is perfect but they do love you and will never hurt you like…”
“… like mine…”
He sighed and you instantly hugged him again.
“Yes… yes!” You cried while holding on tight.
“I’ll make that happen, babygirl. Don’t you worry…”
He pulled you back and kissed your forehead before letting you silently cry into his shoulder. He held you as well. The feeling was so warm and secure. You always felt safe with him. You felt so loved when with him. You always wondered if you even deserved that love.
How was this going to work? Well Chan had been planning to propose to you for a while. He’s already been looking at rings. But now he thinks he should speed it up a little. Sooner the better. He wants you to be happy. He knows his family will take you in. They will welcome you with open arms. And he’ll take care of you for the rest of his life…
——————————— 🥀 ———————————
This is the dream I had where I woke up crying. And my mom did say that to me. Just not thru text. My depression been pretty bad lately…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TGM masterlist
Characters & Pairings: Javy “Coyote” Machado x pro surfer!reader (romantic), dagger squad (platonic)
Content Warnings: fluff, profanity, pop culture references, details of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 9.1k
Requested 📨 yes/no (for @a-court-of-roscoe-and-baby)
Premise: From the moment she could walk Y/n L/n belonged to the sea. Riding the waves that started as a hobby, only to lead her to the world’s greatest sporting stage. It would take time before her dream of Olympic Gold would happen as surfing had yet to be recognized by the IOC. But in her pursuit of becoming the greatest female surfer of all time, Y/n found who she believed was the closest person to paradise.
Note: I gotta say writing athlete/Olympian!reader imagines with the dagger squad are truly some of my favorite. Gosh I cannot wait for next year because that means…..2024 Olympics 👀 Guys I’m almost done with my semester! I have less than two weeks and all i have left to do is a paper and final project !! Almost to the finish thank goodness and then I move in with my friend before starting my summer job! Hope y’all enjoyed this work and let me know what you think!
Be sure to watch the video I linked during the Rock’s segment. I didn’t make it up it actually was a segment during the opening ceremonies on NBC’s coverage.
————————
“Is this heaven?” He laid on the surfboard beside her, feet in the water with the warmth of the sun hit his back. A cool breeze was starting to set in as the most beautiful sunset was before him, painting the sky an endless murrel of pink and orange. Only the subtle echo of the low tide filled his ears. Javy pressed his cheek onto the board, finding her smile which made his own appear at her words.
“More like paradise.”
Everyone had their own definition of paradise. Maybe it was the quiet plains of Montana or the mountains of Appalachia. Maybe it was strolling down the streets of Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Rain pouring down on New York City with a steaming cup of tea in hand or driving down the Pacific Coast Highway with “California Love” blasting through the radio. Reading a book by the fire next to their soulmate, dancing with strangers at a concert. Ask anyone what they viewed as their own personal paradise and the responses will vary.
Y/n L/n felt she was in paradise almost everyday of her life. Waking up to the view of the ocean while birds flew overhead. Feet hitting the sand as she ran to the waters with her board, anxiously waiting to ride the waves. Salt water coating skin and hair, sun beaming down.
Paradise.
From the moment she could walk the beach became her second home. Having grown up on the island of O’ahu Y/n learned how to surf before riding a bike. Her parents surfed. As did her siblings. Getting an instructor wasn’t needed with a family who knew everything there was about the art of surfing. Y/n received her first board at age four, and from then on her life was devoted to the water. Owning more swimsuits than t-shirts and shorts by the time she reached fifth grade.
She was a natural at best. Always predicting when and where the best waves would be. Timing the push up so perfect others—even her family—were unable to keep up.
“C’mon, leave some for the rest of us,” her brother would groan, missing a wave due to her swooping in at the last second. Y/n only laughed in return.
“Gotta be faster than that.”
Her parents, surfers themselves, were basically her coaches. On weekends they were waking her up at the crack of dawn, breakfast on the counter and telling her to be on the beach when she was done. Then of course she had to apply sunscreen, the substance coating every inch of her skin. Once on the beach a thirty minute run and stretching was mandatory before she could get in the water.
Skipping such a step would have her sore all night.
“We’re gonna work on your 360, cutback, and tube ride before finishing the day with cleaning up your alley oop.”
“If I don’t make a lot of mistakes can we watch Lilo & Stitch after dinner?”
“Yes, that is a fair deal.”
Mistakes? What are those? Mistakes weren’t in Y/n’s nature and if they occurred it was a rare sighting. Only time Y/n ever did mess up on a maneuver was when she was first learning it. Once she had it down it was impossible to lose.
All the friends she made loved going to the beaches after school and on weekends—getting all their homework done during the school hours so their entire afternoon was free. They signed up for competitions together, Y/n entering her first at age 14 for the 2004 Juniors season after competitions in regionals since age 11. “You’re gonna win the comp, Y/n.”
“Oh stop playing,” she brushed her best friend off, only to hear the murmurs of agreement from the rest of the group.
“I’m serious! You catch the best waves and ride them perfectly. Those judges are gonna be amazed on Saturday—I bet you’ll even get a sponsor.”
Her best friend was right. Not only did Rip Curl—THE Rip Curl want Y/n to be the face of their new campaign, but the surfing world would know her name for generations to come.
“Welcome back to our coverage of the 2004 ISA World Junior Surf Championship here in beautiful O’ahu, Hawaii here on ESPN. We’re dwindling down on the final competition with the defending champion from last year's event, sixteen-year-old Carolina Kanoa, and newcomer, Y/n L/n. If you’ve been watching the competition then you know all eyes have been on the fourteen-year-old native of Kapolei here on O’ahu, who scored the highest in her heats and received all tens in the quarterfinals after a perfect run.”
“It was quite the sight, Tom. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so effortless in this competition. Y/n’s delivered a captivating performance each wave she’s catched—always getting the first one in her heats and pulling out a big score putting her high on the leaderboard. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her on top of the podium today.”
“For anyone watching at home who are new to surfing or just want a little refresh on the scoring system, here is how it works: a panel of five judges determine a score one through ten, ten being the best, for each surfer on their wave based on degree of difficulty, innovative maneuvers, combination of major maneuvers, the variety of said maneuvers, and the speed, power, and flow. The highest and lowest score are thrown out leaving the remaining three, which are then averaged out. Now a surfer can catch as many waves as they please but only the two highest scoring waves will be added together to give the total score for that heat. From there competitors are eliminated until there are two finalists.”
Treading water, Y/n paid close attention to the scene in front of her. With only three minutes left on the clock, she was one wave away from crowning herself the Junior World Champion.
“Give me a sign,” she breathed in the salty air. Her thoughts were answered seconds later by a chill running down her neck, gaze snapping to the left where she saw the water draw back. Springing into action, Y/n paddled towards the forming wave, timing it at the perfect moment to end the competition on a bang. She heard the crowd cheer when she stood up, increasing each maneuver she did until finally riding out the end of the wave right as the bullhorn sounded.
Her heart pounded, “Did I just win?” Damn sure she did. Nothing could describe the feeling of holding the championship trophy at the top of the podium. And what made it ten times better, an ambassador of Rip Curl offered her a sponsorship. Before long Y/n’s name and face were plastered across all their campaigns. After winning the ISA Junior World Championships three years in a row—making her a household name in surfing—Y/n went on to senior international competitions. From there her glory only skyrocketed.
ISA World Surfing Games, World Surf League, Rip Curl Pro, Big Wave Tour, Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Y/n’s little shelf of trophies turned into a full length china cabinet. Traveling back and forth from O’ahu to America. Sometimes even going to South America and Japan for international comps. By age 19 she had created her own maneuver earning her even more attention due to the level of difficulty.
“I don’t see what the fuss is about?” She chewed on a piece of spam, leaning her elbows on the kitchen counter. “All I did was add a couple of extra spins on my aerial.” Her mother gave her a bewildered look.
“That move in itself is difficult, Y/n. Not many perform it in competition and the fact you successfully landed one—with your little spoof nonetheless, people are gonna be amazed.”
“Well, I guess I just got lucky.”
Following high school Y/n turned professional and moved to Honolulu to attend the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa where she studied sports management with a minor in sports science. A family friend had an old Volkswagen Type 2 and Y/n was happy to take it off their hands, fixing it up to have the perfect beach van. Once classes were done for the day Y/n was packing it up with her board, cooler, boombox, and her closest friends.
“You sure this thing isn’t gonna break down on us?”
“Don’t insult Sandy. She’s as good as new,” okay that was a stretch, the van was literally 60 years old, “and I filled her up on gas this morning so we shouldn’t find ourselves on the side of the road.”
“Thanks for the confidence, Y/n. Much appreciated.”
It wasn’t uncommon for people to recognize her on campus. Having generated a public image in surfing—which many of her peers were also involved in—meant she was bound to hear, “Hey, you’re Y/n L/n?” “Oh my gosh I’ve been watching you compete since you were a junior competitor.” “Congrats on winning the Pro this year.”
There were times professors kindly asked, “Can you sign this for my kid? They’ve been into surfing lately and you’re their favorite athlete.” Taking photos with supporters happened occasionally as did giving advice to those wanting to get into surfing. It was a nice feeling for the woman to be able to inspire people and share the sport she loved.
Expanding the art of surfing to the world.
Four years of college seemed to fly by fast. Y/n was surprised she managed to pull through with a 3.6 GPA and graduate Cum Laude with everything in her life. A lot of the competitions were during the school year so Y/n had lots of work on her plate—thankfully some instructors were reasonable and allowed her to get an advance on the material. But she completed her degree with immense relief, aiming to get a career in sports going either by becoming a trainer or manager following her retirement from surfing.
“Y/n, It’s so great to see you again this year at the World Surf League World Championship. You recently graduated from the University of Hawai’i, you’re set to compete in today’s finals to defend your title—how many would this be for you? Number seven?”
Y/n chuckled with the reporter, brushing away a stray piece of hair. “Lucky number seven, yes. I’m so happy and grateful to be competing today—excited to hit the water and try to catch the best waves possible. Regardless of the outcome today I’m just really happy to be here again. I always look forward to this time of year—being able to compete and after working so hard in school this last semester, it’s definitely a relief to not have to worry about finishing a paper last minute once this comp ends.”
“There’s been recent talk of surfing possibly becoming an Olympic sport after much demand following the London Games this year. What are your thoughts? Do you think it’ll be featured in Rio and if so are you going to try and make the team?”
Since becoming a professional sport in 1959 following the first West Coast Surfing Championship in Huntington Beach, California, surfing had yet to reach the greatest sporting stage. The Olympic Games. Held every four years where thousands of athletes from around the globe come together to compete for the chance at gold. Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing and three-time Olympic freestyle swimming champion having won gold at the 1912 and 1920 Games respectively, first advocated the sport to be in the Olympics back in 1920. Had it not been for him, surfing may not have become as popular in the world as it was.
When it came to the Olympics, Y/n loved sitting by the tv to watch Team USA. Witnessing historic moments and record breaking finishes she was in awe of every athlete who came across the screen. Swimming, diving, track, gymnastics, soccer. So many sports events in a single fortnight. She hoped surfing would become an official sport in the Games. For she too had dreams of an Olympic gold around her neck.
Pausing for a moment, Y/n smiled at the thought of her becoming an Olympic Champion, “I think a lot of us can agree that we’d like to see surfing become part of the Olympic family. It’s one of the oldest sports and has its own professional circuit for decades now—I mean we’ve got people here today from Japan, Italy, El Salvador and Australia. Why not include it? And you can definitely expect me to be training the moment it is.”
It would be four years before Y/n could make do with that promise. On August 3, 2016, two days prior to the opening ceremonies of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, the IOC announced surfing would finally be an Olympic sport.
“Exciting news for the surfing world,” the headline appeared on the screen of ESPN’s afternoon coverage, “the International Olympic Committee has just confirmed the sport will be introduced for the first time in its history at the Tokyo Olympics taking place in 2020–marking 100 years since surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku first started advocating for it to be featured. Professional surfing isn’t new to international competition having debuted at Huntington Beach, California in 1959. Since then there’s been several meets featuring surfers from all over the world—the most recent being the 2016 Rip Curl Pro where ten-time World Surf League champion Y/n L/n claimed the title once again for the fifth time since her senior international debut in 2007. L/n is just one of many professional surfers who’ve advocated for surfing to be in the Olympics over the years and expressed interest in competing for a chance at gold. With the confirmation by the IOC this morning, I’d say we’ll be seeing her at the trials in four years.”
The morning after the announcement Y/n headed to the beach to find her father propping her board into the sound. “So four years, huh?” Y/n crossed her arms over her chest, feeling the wind breeze past them.
“Seems like a long way, but it’ll be around the corner before we know it.”
“We better get started then.”
Morning, afternoon, evening. Every day Y/n was on the water catching waves left and right. Perfecting maneuvers, getting air in her aerials. When taking breaks she’d go on runs and to the gym. She still participated in yearly competitions and surfed with her friends, but her training habits became more intense as she prepped for Tokyo. When she wasn’t sleeping, eating, or competing she was on the water.
By 2019 Y/n had accumulated the most titles won by a female surfer with ten ISA World Surfing Games—formerly the World Surfing Championships, ten Rip Curl Pro trophies, five QuickSilver pro Gold Coast, five-time triple crown winner, and the 2016 champion of The Eddie Aikua Big Wave International. Winning The Eddie and becoming the first woman in history to do so after the event returned from a seven-year hiatus had Y/n on the front page of several sports magazines around the world. It was a huge accomplishment. Pushing Y/n as the favorite to win gold in Tokyo.
Towards the later end of the year, October in fact, Y/n found herself on the sunny beaches of San Diego, California. August to November were the best months to surf in the area, being it was late summer going into fall where the heat wasn’t excruciating. Still one had to wear a wetsuit to even touch the water.
Y/n was in town to visit an old friend from college and to help the Pacific Beach Surf Club with their beach cleanups and participate in a charity competition. Having traveled in San Diego a few times she was no stranger to the club and welcomed with open arms. Volunteering in their cleanups was the least she could do to prepare the beach for the charity event.
When they finished they all changed out of their clothes into wetsuits, wasting no time to hit the waves. “Hey!” Her friend yelled from where she was treading water, tone teasing, “be sure to leave some for the rest of us, yeah?” Y/n threw her head back in laughter.
“I make no promises!”
Anytime Y/n surfed out of training or competition she felt so free. No pressure to be perfect. No shouting from her father. No commentary from the sportscasters or questions from reporters. Only her, her board, and the beautiful sea.
She cheered on her friend and the people in their cleanup group when they caught waves. Complimenting them whenever they did a cool trick. In return they whistled and hollered for her. They soon developed an audience from the shore. Children and adults alike stop to watch them in awe. Instantly drawn to Y/n who glided effortlessly, guiding her board into a tube ride.
Unbeknownst to the surfer, a group of navy pilots had stopped their game of dogfight football to observe the show.
Jake whistled, “Damn she’s good.” Mickey agreed.
“I don’t think I’ve seen someone surf like that. She’s a natural.”
“Probably has been doing it for years,” Bradley commented, fixing his aviators. Natasha and Bob hummed in agreement.
“I think I’m in love,” Javy breathed out, simply in awe of what he was witnessing. The most beautiful woman he’d ever seen showcasing talent on a board he could only dream of possessing.
He wondered what her laugh sounded like, seeing her head tilt back at something her friend said. Even from the distance her smile was breathtaking. Hair pulled back into a tight bun, body adored in a wetsuit to combat the cool water. A cheeky smirk thrown at her peers when she started paddling toward a forming wave. Standing on the board like a pro and making all kinds of turns and tricks Javy knew he’d wipe out the second he attempted them. Speaking of wiping out, she hadn’t done it once.
Jake nudging him from the side snapped him out of his daydream, “Go talk to her.” At the nod of his head, Javy realized she was running across the sand, stopping when she got to an area of coolers, towels, and backpacks.
“No!” He hissed, eyes reading, ‘are you crazy?’
“Why not? Just go up and start complimenting her. Ask her how long she’s been surfing. That’ll start a conversation.”
Javy scoffed, “Easy for you to say, Mr. Ken Barbie Doll who doesn’t need a confidence boost when talking to women.” Jake went to rebuttals but the sound of Reuben coughing stopped him.
“Uh guys….” He lifted a finger, their gazes following to find a family of four approaching the young woman. They couldn’t hear what was being said, but seeing her take a notepad from the little girl before scribbling in what appeared to be an autograph followed by the father snapping a photo with his phone, it was enough to conclude she was someone.
“Are…is she signing autographs?” Javy wondered aloud. He watched her sign the little boy's boogie board, posing for a photo with him before kneeling down to be on both the children’s level and smile for the camera. Hell even the parents wanted a photo, one of her friends coming over to hold the phone while they positioned themselves on either side. Then finally the whole family had a group one, saying their goodbyes and thank you’s to the woman who waved as they left.
“So she’s kinda famous,” Bradley said the obvious, everyone in a daze. Probably trying to figure out who the woman was, as none had recognized her as an actress or singer.
While they were busy investigating, Y/n unzipped her wetsuit leaving her bikini underneath and pulled on shorts with a graphic t-shirt overtop. “What are you guys doing after this?”
“We’re gonna grab some drinks at The Hard Deck. You down?”
“The Hard Deck?” She repeated with a tilt of the head. Never had she heard of the place.
“It’s that bar over there,” Y/n turned to the direction her friend was nodding at, eyes landing on a building not far from where they stood. “Great vibes, but I must warn ya it’s always filled with Navy fellas.” Y/n perked up slightly. Having lived on O’ahu all her life she was familiar with Navy personnel. After all, Pearl Harbor was located just on the coast of the island.
“Really?”
“Yeah, Miramar is not too far from here. It’s where the pilots train so expect to see some in flight suits.”
At around 6 the group packed it up and headed for the bar. Upon entry Y/n saw exactly what her friend had warned. The place was buzzing. Servicemen and women on every corner, music blasting from the jukebox. They approached the bar top to order a round of beers before settling over by the high top tables, splitting the group up since there were about eight of them.
“Check it out, Machado,” Payback clapped his friend’s back, making him turn to where his attention was. Javy’s eyes widened upon seeing the surfer.
“Did they just get here?”
“Looked like it. You should talk to her—especially since this is the second sighting in mere hours.” The pilot rolled his eyes.
“I don’t wanna come off as a creep, Fitch. What am I supposed to say ‘Hey, sorry if this is weird but I saw you surfing earlier—can I buy you a drink?’ She might throw me to the sharks.”
Natasha shook her head, “men.” A moment later Penny arrived with a tray of beers, placing them down on the seat beside Bob where the guys were shooting pool, “delivery for my favorite dagger squad.”
Thanks were sent her way followed by Jake asking, “Say Pen, you know those guys?” The bartender glanced over her shoulder to see who he was referring to, nodding with a smile.
“Oh that’s some members of the Pacific Beach Surf Club. They were cleaning up the beach earlier for tomorrow's charity competition. Expect the place to be packed if you drop by, it’s always a madhouse. This year they’ve got some of the best surfers participating.”
“Do you know if she’s one of them,” Javy tried to act cool when pointing out the woman.
Upon Penny’s smirk, the answer was clear, “Unless my eyes are deceiving me, I believe that’s ten-time world surfing champion Y/n L/n.”
“Ten?!” Mickey repeated, “Holy shit.” Around him the others were matching his expression. Javy immediately grabbed his phone to type in the name. Sure enough the image of the woman seated at the table appeared on his screen. Clicking on the Wikipedia page he started to read aloud for the group the opening paragraph.
“Y/n M/n L/n, born y/b/m yb/d, 1990 is an American professional surfer from Kapolei, O’ahu, Hawaii and a ten-time World Surf League Women’s World champion, the most titles won by any female surfer to date. L/n made her debut at the World Surf League Junior Championships at age 14 in 2004 in her native O’ahu, winning three consecutive times before turning to senior international competition where she’s won a total of forty world titles—including becoming a five-time triple crown winner. As of 2016, L/n is the defending champion and first women to win the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. She is set to compete at the first ever U.S Olympic Trials in hopes of making the Tokyo Olympic Team where surfing will make its debut at the Olympics.”
“Well I’ll be damned,” Jake peered over Javy’s shoulder, watching him scroll down to view Y/n’s career statistics. Mickey appeared on the opposite side, whistling under his breath. Natasha took out her own phone to search herself, Bradley, Bob, and Payback all glancing over to see.
“She’s literally called the greatest surfer of this generation,” Bradley pointed out. “Talk about intimidating.”
“Now you gotta buy her a drink, Machado,” Payback concluded, igniting another glare from his friend. “Say you pulled an Olympian.”
“I’ll take it to her,” Penny offered, and before Javy could stop her the woman was back behind the bar. They watched her take a Corona from the cooler, add a lime and proceed to the table the athlete was at. “From the gentlemen by the pool tables,” Penny smiled at Y/n, nodding to the group, “the one the blonde is pointing at.” Turning her head, Y/n saw the guy in question pushing his friend’s hand down, a reddish hue on his cheeks when they made eye contact followed by a wave.
‘Well hello there,’ she thought, smiling at the handsome man. He was in a pair of basketball shorts and t-shirt reading NAVY in bold letters. The group he was with all scattered to make it look like they weren’t eavesdropping when Y/n approached, Corona in hand, “Hi.”
“Hello,” even his voice was attractive. Everything about him was. From his clear smooth skin to his dazzling smile. Toned arms and legs.
“Thanks for the beer.”
“Anytime,” he tipped the one in his hand, Y/n clicking hers against it. “Sorry if this is weird at all. I saw you surfing earlier and was trying to muster up the courage to come talk to you….but couldn’t find the words to say.”
Y/n smirked, gesturing to an empty pool table, “how about a game? Maybe it’ll help loosen your nerves.” Moving to a cue Y/n sees his grin widen, “I’m Y/n by the way.”
“I’m Javy, but you can call me Coyote.”
“Coyote?” She repeats with a chuckle, “That’s an interesting nickname.”
“Callsign actually,” he politely corrects before explaining he was a naval aviator. Grabbing his own cue while she sets up the rack, he added, “Wasn’t my doing.”
“Then how’d you get it?”
“Um…” he made a face, as though he was embarrassed to say. “I’ll tell you if you win this match.” A sound between a scoff and a laugh escaped her.
“So that’s how it’s gonna be.” Javy raises his hands in defense, laughing with her. “And if you win?”
His own smirk appears, “You give me your phone number…maybe even let me take you out.” Biting back a grin and fighting the warm feeling in her chest, Y/n removes the rack leaving the pool balls neatly centered.
“Challenge accepted, Coyote.”
It was safe to say both came out as winners that night. Though Y/n won the game and got the scoop on Javy’s callsign origin, he walked away with her number and plans to have dinner the following night after her charity event. Javy made the promise to come out and watch her surf, excited to see her in action. Hearing Y/n talk about the sport and her accomplishments was even cooler in person than reading it off the internet. From her amateur days to becoming a full blown professional. Winning countless championship titles, being the first woman to win The Eddie and her dream to win gold at the Olympics.
Javy was smitten.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then?” She smiled when they reached her van at the end of the night. They talked for hours to the point they lost track of time. It was 11 o’clock and she had to be up at five.
“You said it starts at noon?” At her nod Javy continued, “I’ll be there. And I look forward to our dinner plans after.” Y/n felt the heat rise, hoping it wasn’t displaying on her face.
“Me too. Thank you for a fun night, Javy,” feeling bold, Y/n leans to place a kiss on his cheek. The action leaves him stunned, smile growing bigger as she pulls away. “See you on the beach.”
Now Javy had loved the beach before meeting Y/n. But his love for it and the ocean only grew the moment he watched her ride the waves. Cheering from the sand as she dropped down and glided the tide with ease. It made him want to stay there forever.
He understood quickly why she was regarded as the greatest female surfer of all time. Yeah it was a charity competition and not a world championship, but Y/n treated the waves no differently. She was a beast. Total control of her board, little to no mistakes.
Their dinner date was filled with laughter, flirty sarcasm, stories so outrageous one would think they were bluffing. Javy spoke of his time at Top Gun and his friendship with Jake. Y/n told him about her college days. Both engaged in conversations about dreams and aspirations. Yeah they had their dream careers, but one can always dream bigger. Dream about friendship, dream about love.
Dream about the future.
When the night came to an end, Y/n laid her head on the pillow with a smile on her face, “I think this might be paradise.”
23 July 2021–The Hard Deck, San Diego California.
“It’s almost time for USA!” Javy hushes everyone, grabbing the remote to increase the volume. The place was packed mostly with the squad's friends, colleagues, the Pacific Beach Surf Club, and college students from UC San Diego. Togethery they were gathered to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympics.
Finally after a whole year of waiting the Games were finally being held. A global pandemic sure would be the only thing to stop the most iconic two-week sporting event in the world.
And Javy’s girlfriend, 12x World champion Y/n L/n, was there to be part of surfing's Olympic debut. Gold on her mind.
The two had been long distance the majority of their relationship, but FaceTimed nearly every day with promises to visit as soon as restrictions were lifted. Y/n traveled to San Diego in the winter of 2020 to mark the couple’s one year anniversary. Then Javy flew to Hawaii in the spring, spending two weeks in Kapolei where most time was spent surfing and late night drive on the beach.
“There’s no place I’d rather be,” he sang at the top of his lungs, windows rolled down .
“Than on my surfboard out at sea,” Y/n followed, smile wide on her face with her hair blowing in the wind.
“Lingering in the ocean blue.”
“And if I had one wish come true.”
Together they sang, “I’d surf ‘til the sun sets beyond the horizon!”
Y/n tilted her head back, “‘Āwikiwiki, mai lohilohi. Lawe mai i ko papa he’e nalu.”
Belting out together once again, their voices echoed in the night, “Flying by on the Hawaiian roller coaster ride!!”
“‘Āwikiwiki, mai lohilohi. Lawe mai i ko papa he’e nalu.”
“Pi’i nā nalu lā lahalaha. ‘O ka Moana hānupanupa.”
“Lalala i ka lā hanahana. Me ke kai hoene i ka pu’e one.”
“Heel, hele mai kākou ē.”
“Hawaiian roller coaster ride!”
During the Olympic surf qualifying event in Huntington Beach the whole squad was in attendance to cheer Y/n on. Javy embraced her in tears, lifting her onto his shoulders to the hollars and whistles of their friends and family.
Y/n was officially an Olympian.
Now usually during the parade of nations of the opening ceremonies Greece is the first to enter the arena followed by the countries in alphabetical order with the hosting nation entering last. Having waited a whole year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the world was excited to get the Games started. But to everyone’s surprise the order of the parade of nations would proceed differently than prior Olympics.
Greece still entered first, followed by the Refugee Olympic Team and then the nations paraded in based on where they fell on the Gojūon system. Japan would be the last country to march in, but for the first time ever the hosting countries of the next two Olympics entered before the hosting country. And what were those two countries?
France and The United States of America.
Paris was set to host the upcoming 2024 Games just three years away, and then in 2028 Los Angeles gets the honor once again of bringing the world together. The last time LA hosted was in 1984, and the last time America itself hosted the Summer Games was Atlanta 1996.
“Okay everyone shut up!!” The tv was turned to the loudest volume possible, all in attendance falling to hush whispers.
“Everything changes,” Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s voice echoes through the speakers, his silhouette figure walking into an empty arena. “The longest wait of their lives is over.” The beat of the music gets louder, building in pressure. “And the combination of their blood, sweat, and tears,” his face is revealed under the light, “finally arrives.”
The beat drops in time with the image of fireworks rocketing from the Rio arena, an announcer’s voice stating, “this is the moment that you all have been waiting for.”
“It’s not easy to bring the entire whole planet together,” the Rock states, “and it certainly wasn’t tonight. But, here we are.”
“Finally!”
“It’s finally here.”
“The Olympics are finally here,” Gold Medalist Simone Biles grins.
“Yeah, I’m hyped up.”
“Can’t wait to show the world what I got.”
The image shows Dwayne once again, “Tonight we are all so lucky to witness the hardest workers in the room.” Then it changes to athletes training, from gymnast Sam Mikulak to sprinter Noah Lyles. “The athletes who are a brilliant tapestry of talent, commitment, and drive.”
“Drive, drive, drive!”
“Now what was once considered unthinkable just one year ago has become a glorious reality. We come together united to celebrate the Olympians who exemplify the very best in all of us.”
🎼 legs are shaking, hands aching, 🎼
Simone Biles appears, determination in her gaze as she races down the vault runway. “It’s Simone’s party and everyone else is just a guest,” Tim Daggett’s voice cuts in during the clip of Simone at the World Championships, followed by the Rock.
“She is absolutely the greatest gymnast the world has ever seen. But even if there’s nothing left to prove, there’s a chance to launch herself even higher into the rarest air of immortality.”
As Simone lands her vault, it transitions into Katie Ledecky entering the pool. “The most dominant swimmer in the world.” “It’s just ridiculous!”
“She swims like a machine created to wreak havoc and decimate with impunity.”
“Katie Ledecky smashes her own world record!”
“But in reality she’s about the nicest person you’ll ever meet,” the rock’s face returns, bearing his own smile like Katie. “And kindness matters. Always.” Track star Noah Lyles running takes over. “He makes running as fast as you can look the way it’s supposed to look.”
“NOAH LYLES, WORLD CHAMPION!”
Dwayne grins, “Damn fun.” The next athlete featured was the one they were all waiting for.
“On dry land she’s impressive, in the water she’s simply lethal,” the Hard Deck erupted in cheers, Y/n flashing onto the screens showcasing her drop in during the WSL World Tour.
“That’s my baby!!!” Her name appeared in big bold letters like the others, ‘Y/n L/n. Kapolei, O’ahu, HI.’
“Monstruos wave for Y/n L/n, but she handles it like a pro.” The clip shows her pointing to the sky in victory following her win. “She’s here to prove why surfing should’ve been in the Olympics ages ago,” the Rock looks proud, “and look cool as hell while doing so.”
The tone of the video shifts, bringing forth the raw and emotional reality of athletes who’ve given every inch of their soul to be on the world’s greatest sporting stage. “They’re kids from Minneapolis—.”
“Kenny Harrison!” A girl crosses the finish line in joy, soon embraced by her father. “Raleigh.”
Fellow surfer and native Hawaiian Carissa Moore is shown, “And Honolulu.” A baby in a stroller being pushed by her mother. “They’re working moms with unfinished business.” Allison Felix with her daughter.
“This is what makes all the sacrifice worth it.”
Simone Manuel becoming the first Black woman to win an individual Olympic gold at the 2016 Rio Games. “The barrier breakers who’ve proven the power of the platform.”
“I can’t begin to tell you what this means for the sport of swimming in the United States.”
“There’s Jordan—!” A montage of Gold medal winning teams flashed. The Fab Five. The women’s soccer and basketball teams. The women’s rowing team. The Fierce and Final Five of U.S Gymnastics. “And the teams that have dominated for generations with no intention of changing the script for this one.”
“Get the gold medals ready. Again!”
“These awe-inspiring multi-talented athletes are taking on the world.”
🎼 ‘You bring me back to life.’ 🎼
Between the music and feel good montage, some of the viewers in the hard deck were having trouble holding back tears. Chills racking up their body. It made them want to get out and start training to be a world class athlete.
“They really are the best of us. They’re bringing us together.”
“That’s a new world record!”
“And they’re about to give you, at long last, the greatest two-week spectacle the world has ever seen.” Close ups of Team USA’s Olympians rolled, Javy wiping his eyes when Y/n appeared. “It is their Games. It is our Games.”
Absolute chills.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am so grateful to have the honor of presenting to you….Team USA.” At the last word the Rock disappears, cutting to Team USA entering the Tokyo dome—the American flag flying high, “USA! USA! USA!” Though they couldn’t hear the cheers from the Hard Deck across the ocean, that didn’t stop the building from erupting in whistles. It was only the opening ceremonies so one could imagine what it would be like come the 26th and 27th.
When Y/n hits the waves for a chance at Olympic gold.
Tsurigasaki Beach, located 40 miles from Tokyo, was the place where it would all happen. The damp sand beneath Y/n’s toes felt comforting. Although the overcast skies made her worried. Tropical Storm Nepartak caused the waves to be more aggressive and unpredictable. It was going to be an interesting day of competition.
After qualifying with a big score in her heat the previous day, Y/n was set to compete in the quarterfinals that morning. From there the semi-final contestants would be decided, going straight into the event before finals that afternoon. Three events in one day if she made it all the way to the end.
“I’m going to be so sore tonight.”
Shortboard in hand, Y/n raced to the water the second the horn sounded. Instant shivers along her arms from the cold feeling. Cloudy skies prevented the sun from heating the water, “goodness gracious.”
Quarterfinals breezed by. Y/n started off strong with a score of 7 for her first wave, going on to claim two more, another 7 and an 8 bringing her total score to a 15. Putting her, American Carissa Moore, South African Bianca Buitendag and Japan’s Amuro Tsuzuki into the semifinals.
“Stellar performance by Y/n L/n of the United States. She had a bit of trouble on her second wave—which we can’t blame her for; many competitors have been having difficulty today due to the impact of tropical storm Nepartak on the tide. L/n’s score of 15 puts her at the top for the quarterfinals, but that can all change when we return for the semifinals in the next hour. It looks like she’ll be up against Japan’s Amuro Tsuzuki for one of two spots in the gold medal match.”
“That’s how you do it,” Javy clapped at the tv, the footage replaying Y/n’s competition highlights. “Semi-finals here we go.”
During the semis the pressure was on. Y/n could feel it all over, anxiety coursing when the horn sounded. Thirty minutes on the clock, ticking down to eliminate either her or Amuro. Usually her luck turns out for the better whenever she gets the first wave, however, Amuro beats her to it. Catching the next one Y/n focuses on pulling speed and managing her flow into the maneuvers, receiving a score of 6.2 on her first wave, 8.3 on her second and 7 on her third. Unfortunately a wipe out early on her fourth and final wave results in a score of 3.
“Is that gonna be enough?” Jake cringes, noticing the look of unease on his friend's visage. Y/n appeared shaken from the wipe out. Very rare has she ever messed up greatly in competition. But there’s always a first for everything.
Javy had a paper in front of him, writing down Y/n’s scores and the ones of her competitors to predict what she needed and if she was qualified to the final round.
“Her six and seven will be dropped, putting her at 11.30,” he taps the pen on the bar surface, “if Amuro doesn’t get another wave in the next,” Javy checks the time, “two minutes then it should put Y/n through to the finals.”
Amuro did in fact catch another wave before the horn sounded, ending their round in the semis, but it wasn’t enough. Her total score accumulated a 7.43, eliminating her from the final competition.
“One more,” her father/coach took a hold of her shoulders. “You’re almost there, Y/n.” Almost to the gold. “Rest up, you got one hour.”
He didn’t have to tell her twice. Picking up a water bottle and plotting on the sand Y/n downed the liquid and munched on an apple. To pass time she scrolled through Tik Tok, sent a selfie to Javy—who sent one of him and the squad back—and called her family in O’ahu to calm her nerves. She had already talked with Javy that morning before quarterfinals, promising to FaceTime him after the finals.
It was nerve racking. Regardless of how the event went, Y/n was guaranteed the silver medal. USA would take home both Gold and Silver in surfing’s debut being fellow American Carissa Moore beat out South Africa’s Bianca Buitendag in their round.
One competition left.
Bidding good luck to Carissa, Y/n took her position and waited for the horn. Thirty minutes on the clock. Thirty minutes to a gold medal.
“Here we go,” Payback announced in time with Y/n paddling out to sea. Javy rubbed his hands together, eyes glued to the screen.
“And the two Americans are off in the first ever gold medal match for surfing. Carissa Moore, the 2019 WSL World Champion, and twelve-time title holder Y/n L/n head-to-head to declare who will become the woman to win surfing’s first gold medal. Both have exemplified great performances today—it’s not easy doing a quarterfinals, semi-finals, and finals all in one day, but these pros make it look easy.”
“There she goes!” Nat shouted, earning cheers at the bar when Y/n caught the first wave of the competition.
“Kicking off with the first wave, in just two minutes of the clock starting is Y/n L/n. Dropping in beautifully, easing into the wave…..Straight into an roundhouse cutback, which she does flawlessly. Bottom turn, I think she’s gonna try and do a off-the-lip right here….and she nails it! I think she’s hoping to elongate this wave as far out as she can. Carving now and finishing with a 360 into an Ariel. Wow! That was a great start by Y/n.”
“Yeah that’s what I’m talking about!” Javy shouted over the cheers, grin plastered wide only to brighten more when the score came back a 8.7. “HELL YEAH! LETS GO!”
Carissa’s wave was impressive. She managed to hold it down with complicated moves to earn a 8.5. Both women scored huge on the first waves followed by 7s across the board. Nearing the final five minutes Carissa managed to get a 6.43.
“She can’t get anything lower than a 6.23,” Javy felt sweat pool on his forehead, suddenly feeling hot in the bar despite it being the ass crack of dawn.
“She’s got this,” Nat patted his back.
The clock was ticking down. Two minutes to go and Y/n had yet to find a wave. Placing her palm onto the surface, she took a deep breath, “please, give me a sign.” Not a moment later she felt something in her say to look right.
There, brimming about fifteen feet away, was the perfect wave.
Wasting no time Y/n’s chest planted to her board, paddling as fast as possible. Her heart was pounding, salt water splashing. Positioning herself in front of the forming body, Y/n silently called out to whoever was listening for strength.
“Wow she’s going for that huge current out on the west side. Moore is too far back—it’s gonna be L/n on the final wave of the women’s competition. With one minute to go she’s dropping in—.”
Y/n allowed the adrenaline to consume her, giving it total control as she dropped in. The highest wave of the competition yet, Y/n knew she’d be having a tube ride with how it formed. Picking up speed, she knelt slightly, paralleling her chest with the wall of the wave, the water curving around her. Blocking the world from her view.
It was just her and the sea. No one else.
Closing her eyes briefly, she pictured she was back on O’ahu in the water she grew up in. Sun beating down and gentle hum of seagulls.
Like she was in paradise.
The image left as quick as it came. Y/n snapping out of her daydream to exit the tube ride to the cheers of her father on the beach, curing back into the wave to finish on a high note by performing her signature Ariel. Smiling the whole way down just as the horn signified the end of the competition.
“And there you have it folks. The women’s surfing finals has officially come to a close—Y/n L/n ending her Olympic Games with a remarkable last wave. Absolute perfection with speed, precision, and control. That’s gonna be the highest score for her I feel.”
“C’mon, c’mon,” Javy bit his nail, knee bouncing from the anxiety of not knowing. Carissa’s total score was displayed first, 14.93. Y/n’s lowest was a seven, highest 8.7. Her final wave was amazing, but judging was unpredictable. Anything could happen.
Then in the blink of an eye the hard deck exploded.
“I don’t believe it! Tens across the board for Y/n L/n bringing her total to 17.00!! Y/n L/n has won the gold for the United States—Carissa Moore with the silver. USA goes one and two in women’s surfing at its Olympic debut!!! Take it all in, we are witnessing history,” the screen shows Y/n and Carissa embracing, leaning over their boards to congratulate the other, “Team USA has much to celebrate, the world of surfing has their champion. Y/n L/n adds gold to her name—surfing’s first Olympic Champion here in Tokyo!!”
Y/n laughed the entire time she paddled to shore, raising to her feet to race towards her father. She was soaking wet but he didn’t care. “You did it!” He yelled, kissing her head with tears in his eyes. “You’re an Olympic champion! I’m so so proud of you!” Soon they were greeted by Carissa and the rest of Team USA’s surfing members. The two women were lifted onto shoulders, American flags draped over their backs with photographers surrounding them.
It was a moving image. Two women from Honolulu and Kapolei, Hawaii won surfing’s first Olympic silver and gold medal. If only Duke Kahanamoku could be there to witness.
Back at the hard deck celebratory drinks were served and toasts raised to Y/n. Javy barely contained his emotion, eyes watering the moment her name came back the winner. Natasha and Jake embraced him in a hug, the guys whistling and hollering. Penny rang the bell.
“She won! Oh my God my baby is a gold medalist!! This is the best day ever!!”
The entire podium ceremony Y/n was on cloud nine. Placing the gold medal around her neck, she took a moment to stare at it. Disbelief and awe in her eyes. ‘Wow, I actually did it.’
When the national anthem came to an end Y/n did the traditional bite of the medal for the cameras. Posing with Carissa and Bianca afterwards, Y/n was ushered to interviews.
“Hello, Y/n,” the reporter beamed, “congratulations are in store—what an amazing moment for you. You’re the first gold medalist in women’s surfing at the Olympics. How does it feel?”
“It’s absolutely a dream come true. For years the surfing community has wished for this—to be in the Olympics and for me to be part of its debut, winning the gold medal…I-I can’t put into words how much this means to me. I’m so grateful and honored.”
“You’ve been around for a while now,” the reporter mentioned, “2004 was the first time we saw you and you’ve gone on to have a stellar surfing career. Winning the WSL World Surfing Games twelve times now—competing when it was still called the WSL World Championships and became the first woman to win The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational in 2016. This is your first Olympic Games, surfing will be at the Paris Games in three years. Can we expect to hopefully see you there?”
“I wouldn't rule it out,” Y/n winked with a giggle. “Paris is in three years and I would love to return to the Olympics again. After dreaming for so long I don’t want to let it go so easily. Of course anything can happen between now and 2024 but with my family, friends, and boyfriend cheering me on with their endless support…” she gave a cheeky shrug, “I’m gonna work hard and get back in the water once I’m home.”
“We’ll be rooting for you, Y/n. I don’t think the surfing world is ready to say goodbye to you. Anything else you’d like to say before you have to go. Anyone you’d like to say thanks to?”
Instantly the Olympian brightened, eyes locking on the camera. “I wanna give a shoutout to my hometown of Kapolei on O’ahu—the place where this journey started on the beautiful beaches and waters of my home. To my family and friends, thank you for your love, support, guidance and always cheering me on even when the going gets tough. My dad, who’s been my coach since I was seven is with me here to share this win, I couldn’t have done this without him. To my San Diego family watching, you better save me a beer at the Hard Deck when I come visit next week,” she winks, knowing the squad would get a kick out of it. Then Y/n softens, “and finally to my boyfriend, Javy, who’s with our friends in Fightertown. I love you so much, thank you for being my rock during quarantine and pushing me to do my best. I can’t wait to see you and this is for you.” Holding up the medal, Y/n blows a kiss to the screen before saying goodbye to the reporter.
Upon landing in San Diego two nights later, Y/n was greeted by a celebration from her friends. Members of the Pacific Beach Surf Club were there, as were the dagger squad. Javy met her in the middle the second she exited the terminal, lifting her in his arms. “Finally your back!! I’m so fucking proud of you!” Setting her down, he kept his arms around her and the two jumped up and down like school children in a heap of laughter.
Finally they calmed, sharing a sweet kiss. “How was your flight,” he walked when they pulled away, moving to grab her carryon back.
“Long,” she moaned, leaning into his side. “But worth it.” Soon she was surrounded by their friends. Congratulations all around, Mickey asking to see the medal, Jake saying all her drinks are on him, Nat telling her how much she missed having another girl around. “I missed you guys,” Y/n pouted, “man I wish you all could’ve been there.”
“Don’t worry, Y/n/n,” Bradley patted her shoulder, “We’ll be there in Paris.”
“That’s quite a bit away, Roo.”
“Yeah,” he shrugged, “but there’s no harm in planning now.”
“Let’s let the woman rest before kicking her training mode into gear,” Javy teased, earning a playful nudge from his girlfriend. Together they got her bags and headed straight for The Hard Deck. They drinked, they danced. Javy and Y/n had a rematch of their pool game.
“This feels a bit like deja vu,” she smirked, chalking up her cue. Javy winked, puckering his lips in an air kiss causing her to laugh.
For a week Y/n stayed in San Diego before flying home to Hawaii with Javy. Again she was greeted at the airport by her family and friends she’d grown up with. The local news station was present, students from schools wanting to join in on the celebration. It felt amazing to be home after two weeks away.
They settled in at her Honolulu home, finding the perfect place to display her medal and ordered take out since neither was in the mood to cook after a 6 ½ hour flight. Once finished with dinner Y/n gave her boyfriend a knowing look, “Wanna watch the sunset?”
She didn’t mean sitting on her porch or even the sand. No, she meant taking the boards and laying out on the sea as the calm surface of the water kept them afloat.
Javy agreed, rushing to get his swim trunks on while she put on a swimsuit. Grabbing their boards they locked up the house and jogged the quarter of a mile to the beach, paddling out to get a front row seat of the descending sun. Colors of bright orange and pink painted the sky. A beautiful contrast to the deep blues of the ocean.
“Is this heaven?” He whispered, finding her eyes staring back at him from where her cheek pressed to the board. All the love conveying in the simple look. And with her gentle words, Javy felt all the worry and unease he ever experienced lift from his soul.
“More like paradise.”
TWISTED WONDERLAND CHARACTERS AS GAMERS!!! (a.k.a what games would they play)
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts: Since his mom would never let him play, the most he can have is mobile games with quizzes and tests. Not even Candy Crush TT
Ace Trappola: I could see him play Resident Evil Village. He says he's cool with horror games, until he gets jumpscared and screams louder than a mandrake root, just to be scolded by Riddle and be laughed at by Grim and Deuce.
Deuce Spade: The Need for Speed Franchise. He would buy every version just to drive whenever he has time after classes.
Trey Clover: Cooking Mama on a 3DS. He would play with his siblings and would get a gold medal on each dish.
Cater Diamond: Anything that is currently trending, so he can stream it for likes, shares and subscribes. He would laugh every time he dies in Elden Ring but would end the laughter with a depressive sentence.
Leona Kingscholar: Chess Online. Next question.
Ruggie Bucchi: Anything that is Free-to-Play. Would never play Genshin Impact in fact, just because that's too much dedication for someone who works for Leona as well.
Jack Howl: Wolf Among Us. He got interested because of the title but got addicted to the story and the characters.
Azul Ashengrotto: Animal Crossing New Horizon. He finds Tom Nook as his ultimate role-model. He also keeps thinking how Timmy and Tommy are like a purer versions of Jade and Floyd.
Jade Leech: Strange Horticulture. He can finally take care of plants not just physically.
Floyd Leech: Fighting games for sure. Street Fighter, Tekken even Skullgirls on his phone.
Kalim Al-Asim: The Pokemon Franchise. He finds every one of them adorable, so he buys every game. He always has a hard time when he have to fight tho. He also cries every time one of them falls unconscious.
Jamil Viper: The Just Dance Franchise. He always complains when the motion controllers don't read his movements correctly and he looses points.
Vil Schoenheit: He would totally enjoy Love Nikki-Dress UP Queen. He loves collecting rare clothing and actually enjoys the story as well.
Rook Hunt: A lot of FPS type of games. He would annoy the other players on Team Fortress 2 or Rainbow Six Siege for sure because of his good skills. They often think he's cheating.
Epel Felmier: GTA 5. He's just like a child with strict parents, when he hears Vil's footsteps he turns the game of and switches to Farming Simulator with an innocent smile.
Idia Shroud: ANY game. He would finish anything that he ever started, even if he hates the game for some reason. He would play until he sees the notification about the Platinum Trophy being unlocked. During multilayers his very competitive tho.
Ortho Shroud: Multiplayer games that are cute, like: Mario Party, Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart. They play with Idia when the other is free from other games.
Malleus Draconia: Pou on a smartphone. Once he figures out how to unlock the smartphone tho... (RIP Pou)
Lilia Vanrouge: Doom Eternal. Or just in general all the Doom games. He tends to blast the OST at the dorm as well.
Silver: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, since it's very relaxing but keeps him entertained enough to not fall asleep.
Sebek Zigvolt: Plants VS. Zombies. He really doesn't have any skills so he needs something simple. After that he might try Minecraft I guess...
Grim: Fruit Ninja on Yuu/MC's tablet. Yuu/MC also makes videos about it and posts them with the tag #gamerweasel
The Witcher Headcanon Master Post - Part 1
I finally went and did it! I finally got around to compiling all my currently completed Witcher Headcanons into one Master Post. I'm not including the Baby!Jaskier Interludes for the Trouble Headcanon because they are not finished yet. I have more in the works, so those will go in a separate post when they are ready!
Note: I've had a few helpful users point out that I don’t need to censor curse words and swears. I know I don't have to on tumblr, but it's a personal preference/choice. I don't have a problem with other people using that kind of language, I just choose not to use it myself.
Anyway, happy reading!
Chapter 8 of The Dove and her Rooster [Bradley Bradshaw]
find all the parts here
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that day the couple were walking along the beach, hand in hand, after having a long converstation at home about today and resolving anything they needed. The sun was slowly setting and it looked beautiful. Bradley let go of Victoria's hand since he thought he dropped something.
As the blonde looked back at him to see what he was searching for, she saw him down on one knee and holding a ring box open.
"I know I already popped the question 7 years ago but it seemed fitting given the circumstances. Victoria Kazansky Bradshaw you are the most beautiful and amazing woman I ever met. You're one hell of a pilot and a even better partner both in the air and on the ground. You are my best friend and my rock, the only person I can be with a 101% me. So, would you do me the honors and marry me again?"
To say Victoria was shocked was an understatement, she didn't expect for Bradley to propose again.
"Yes, of course!"
With those 3 words, Bradley put the ring on her finger as he got up and kissed her before picking her up and spinning her around which made the blonde woman laugh. As he put her down, all of her siblings (plus the couple's 3 best friends from the Academy) came to congratulate them.
Turns out, Bradley planned everything yesterday and asked all of them to take pictures and videos of the proposal. After everyone congratulated the couple they made their way to the Hard Deck.
"Penny free drinks all around! We're celebrating tonight!" the woman laughed at Bradley's ecstasy, "Sure, but what are we celebrating?" Bradley grinned down at the woman besides him as he practically shouted.
"This beautiful woman agreed to marry me once again!"
Shouts were heard around the bar and they got even louder when Penny rang the bell. As Bradley made his way with Victoria to the piano, the blonde asked Penny to give Gavin, Sebastian and Lenora non-alcoholic beer since all 3 were underage.
Natasha unplugged the jukebox as Bradley started to play the piano with Victoria in his lap. At first Victoria didn't recognize the song but as soon as the words started to come out of his mouth, she recognized it. Heaven in your eyes by Loverboy, their first dance song. The blonde almost started crying on the spot but decided it would be better to not cry a river while her husband/fiancée was serenading her.
They didn't stay out too late since the 3 underage teens had school in the morning and the pilots had training. They made many new memories, some of Victoria's new favourite ones.
Getting home that night the couple decided to get into bed right away, feeling tired from the day. As they cuddled in bed Victoria gave Bradley a soft kiss on the lips.
"I love you Bradley Bradshaw and I will love you forever." the man smiled at her, "Victoria Kazansky Bradshaw you are such an amazing woman and pilot and I promise I will love you for the rest of our lives."
With that the two shared a kiss and went to sleep with smiles on their faces.
The next day just as the two got to the base, Victoria got a phone call, it was her mom.
"Liutenant Dove, how do you and Liutenant Rooster feel about a wedding tonight after Gavin's graduation?" "You're joking! Tell dad that he's the best."
Her mother let out a soft laugh, smiling even though her daughter couldn't see her.
"Oh he knows, trust me, he dosen't need an ego boost. Tell your maid of honour, best man and Bradley to be there at 8:00pm, your dad and I will be driving you. Natasha will ride with us."
Victoria thanked her mother as they hung up, she turned towards Bradley with a huge smile on her face as recited her mother's words.
The couple made their way to the debriefing room, some of their colleagues were already there. They sat down behind Phoenix who was sitting behind Payback and Fanboy.
Rooster told the information for tonight to the two man in the first row while Dove told her maid of honour everything she needed to know. Just as they both finished filling them in, the rest of their colleagues walked in, taking their seats and soon after Captain Maverick walked in.
After the formal greetings were finished the Captain went straight to business so to say. He was explaining the mission going over the basics first while then going into detail about the mission itself.
"Time will be your greatest enemy in this mission." he countinued talking, explaining the first phase of the mission and what they'll be flying through.
"These SAMs are lethal. But they were designed to protect the skies above them...not the canyon below." Rooster decided to speak up after that, "That's why the enemy knows no one is sane enough to try and fly below them."
Maverick turned around as he first looked directly at Rooster, "That's exactly what I'll train you to do."
He looked at the 14 pilots in front of him before explaning their maxium altitude while the screen showed a plane breaking the 100 meters limit and instantly being shot down by on of the missiles. He went on to explain the time limit they'll have to hit the target and other important details.
"Assuming we survive the climb, those SAMs will easily take out our defensive missiles. That'll be a dogfight all the way back." Dove spoke up concerned but also a bit angry and confused. This was a suicide mission in her opinion.
"Exactly." the Captain spoke with a serious and a bit morbid tone which Dove didn't like one bit, "Is this mission even possible, Sir?" Phoenix questioned Maverick, dreading his answer in some way.
"It is. And I'm gonna prepare you for it."
A silence fell over the room before it was broken by the older man clapping his hands, saying something about getting the show started.
"Okay first up, Phoenix and Bob with...." he paused for a bit looking at all the pilots before him, "Dove." he looked at the blonde. The three looked at eachother before grabbing their helmets and following Maverick with Dove getting a kiss on the hand from Rooster as she was getting up.
The three pilots followed the Captain towards their planes, discussing how many knots they were gonna fly at for the canyon. Just as she got to her plane and was ready to climb into it, she heard someone calling her by her first name. Turning around she saw her paternal uncle.
"Fly safe, okay?" she smiled at the man before nodding her head, "Always old man." he rolled his eyes as he made his way towards his own plane.
Soon enough they were up in the air with Phoenix saying to get this show on the road. It wasn't a good show for anyone. Dove was able to sustain the Gs but couldn't hit the target, same went for Hangman while Bradley hit the target but he was too slow. Almost everyone had the problem of either not hitting the target or not being fast enough, with some having trouble sustaining the Gs.
You would think Maverick wouldn't berate them since they have never flown this kind of mission, oh how wrong they were. Maverick showed no mercy to anyone, it was for their own good.
Phoenix and Bob got shot down while flying with Coyote and so when they got back, Maverick asked the important question.
"Why are they dead?" he looked at the pilots in front of him, waiting for an answer, Phoenix was the first one to speak up. "We broke the 300 foot ceiling and SAMs took us out."
Maverick looked at Phoenix as he said no and repeated the question. Coyote was the next one that spoke up saying that he slowed down and didn't give a warning. Maverick asked him if there was a reason why he didn't communicate with his team and as Coyote started to answer he was cut off by the Captain.
"Will their family accept that at the funeral?" Coyote leaned back in his seat, "No sir." everyone was quiet after that and as Maverick spoke up again, Dove gave Rooster's hand a squeeze. As the blonde returned her attention to the front she missed what Maverick said, except one thing.
"Don't tell me, tell it to his family."
That sentence seemed to struck something in everyone as they looked at the person sitting next to them or across from them. Nobody knew what to say but they didn't have to since Maverick sent another team out to fly.
The same questions were asked again and again as each team failed. Everyone who made a mistake or was responsible for the failed mission, owned up to it and made a mental note what to do and what not to do, well everyone except Hangman who decided to blame his own team for not keeping up with him.
As Rooster and his team got back, Maverick asked the same question that they all heard many times today.
"You're team leader up there. Why are you, why is your team, dead?" Dove spoke up, not seeing this as fair.
"With all do respect Sir, he was the only one that made it to the target."
Phoenix agreed with Dove saying Rooster was the only one that succeeded today. Maverick nodded his head at the two pilots words.
"Yes but he was a minute late. He gave enemy aircraft time to shoot him down. He is dead."
Rooster decided to speak up saying that he dosen't know that but before Captain Maverick could say anything, Hangman decided to give his opinion which no one asked for.
"You're not flying fast enough. You don't have a second to waste."
Rooster defended himself and his team saying they made it to the target, Maverick wasn't having it saying that they were intresepted on the way out. It went back and forth between the two men for a while until Hangman spoke up, yet again.
"You really don't get it....On this mission a man flies like Maverick here or a man does not come back-" he looked towards Phoenix and Dove, "No offence intended."
Bob looked at Hangman as he told him that yet, somehow, he always manages to do just that. Dove wanted to high five Bob for that comment, making a mental note to do that later. The blonde hotshot pilot rolled his eyes as he turned back to look at Rooster.
"You gotta take criticism. That's all." Maverick spoke up, warning dripping from the sound of his voice, "Liutenant-" but Hangman didn't listen, no, instead he turned fully towards Rooster as he countinued to speak.
"We're going into combat son. On a level no living pilot has ever seen. Not even him-" the blonde looked towards Maverick before looking back at Rooster, "It's no time to be thinking about the past."
Dove gulped as Rooster looked at Hangman, "What's that suppose to mean?"
Both Maverick and Dove said Rooster at the same time, trying to tell him not to engage further.
"I can't be the only one that knows that Maverick flew with his old dad..."
The older man tried to stop Hangman from saying anything further as he saw the anger bubbling inside Rooster.
"And while Maverick was flying with his old man-"
Hangman couldn't finish as Rooster jumped out of his seat and towards the blonde pilot, everyone quickly following to stop the two from getting psychical. Just as Rooster pushed him, he was pushed and held back by Bob, Payback and a few other pilots, same goes for Hangman with Maverick in the middle joined by Dove and Phoenix by Rooster's side.
"You son of a bitch!!" Rooster shouted at Hangman as Maverick shouted enough at both men and Dove stepping in front of Rooster pushing him back a little as the pilots had a hard time keeping him back since he was trying to get out of their grasp.
They were dissmised for the day, the couple leaving without a word as they hurried home to shower and get ready for Gavin's graduation. When they got home, Victoria looked at Bradley as they were both getting out their outfits for the graduation.
"You can't let anything like this happen again Rooster. You can be glad that Maverick didn't report your ass to Warlock or Cyclone for that matter. I'm sorry if I'm gonna sound insensitive but you need to let go of the past and of any emotions while preparing for this mission, that's the only way you're gonna be picked to fly it and to survive."
Bradley didn't say anything, only nodding his head, he knew his wife was right. With that, Victoria left to go shower and get ready.
By some miracle they got to Gavin's graduation on time, Victoria even had time to put on some light makeup.
"Gavin Kazansky."
As he was called up on stage loud claps were heard from the people that came to see him graduate. He looked straight at them with a big smile on his face as he posed with the principal for a picture before going back to his seat. After their caps were thrown in the air, he quickly made his way to his family who were waiting for him with hugs and pictures to take.
"I'm so proud of you little brother." Victoria whispered in his ear as she hugged him.
That night Bradley and Victoria also renewed their wedding vows, even replicating some pictures from her parent's wedding day. Bradley did let a few tears loose when he saw Victoria walking towards him with her father.
They were all happy, having a good time, talking, laughing and taking lots of pictures. Little did they know, this would be the last time that they were all together like this and happy. Maybe if they knew, they'd hug a little longer, laugh more and take many more pictures, just so they could have this day, these memories, forever.

Embarrassing Moments
Tumblr media
1666 Words
Famous Y/n (actor)
Summary: Y/n was at a QnA with her co stars Robert Sheeran and Emmy Raver-Lampman when a certain question is asked which leads to some embarrissing tickle story on Y/ns part...
Based off this QnA 38:45 minutes in h͟e͟r͟e͟
A/n: i was shaving my legs and watching this video and now this fanfic exists and I need sleep before school. Why do I do this for a dead fandom? Who knows...
You laughed, shuffling yourself on the couch a little and smiling at the large crowd of people.
You were doing a Q&A on The Umbrella Academy and just you and your co-stars. You sat next to Emmy and Robert sat next to her, the three of you resting on a white peach sofa and answering fan questions.
You were about halfway through and had a sip of water, smiling at all the guests and fans who joined you.
Emmy and Robert were talking about something you were unable to answer and laughing, finishing up for the next question. You smiled at them, excited for the new season to come out and finally being able to do interviews with the cast again.
You put your water down as the host pointed to one of the question stands and a person stepped forwards, they seemed a little younger than you and prepared themselves for their question after you'd been asked about Disney princesses.
"Hi" the host introduced and the poor kid seemed rather nervous. A wobbly hi in return.
"Hi- um, I have a quick question? What's the most embarrassing thing you had to do?"
Emmy's face did a whole drop at the question making you burst out laughing. The host thankfully finished the kids question for them, clearing up that it was on set.
Emmy turned to you and laughed, then looked back at the crowd, "oh I was like- in life??? AhHh-" the three 0f you laughed along together.
"Yeah, no, with these two we'd be here all night-" you joked, earning laughter from the crowd and your co-stars.
Emmy was lost in her own laughter which you adored. In all fairness everyone in the cast loved Emmy's laugh as it was so contagious.
"Um.. oddly dancing was tough for me-" Robert admitted. You looked at him shocked, but Emmy nodded along. "It was.. it was tricky-"
"Really? You think that was your most embarrassing?" You asked surprised. Robert nodded and laughed at your reaction.
"Yeah- I mean- also it was my first day filming so- there was like a hundred people on set and I was like hello, hiya, hello, hi, and then their like ᴅᴀɴᴄᴇ ʟɪᴋᴇ ɴᴏ ᴏɴᴇs ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ!" everyone in the room burst out laughing at his sudden voice change. "So- that was pretty embarassing"
You laughed along with the rom but looked at him in surprise, "really? Out of all the things you had to do as a character the dancing got you?" once again laughter filled the room but you were honestly curious- now you were like the eeger fan.
"i mean, yeah- ive already done half of those things in real life so-"
"Like he drugs?" Emmy butted in, laughing and doubling over.
"Yeah!-" Robert stiffled a giggle and ajusted himself. "No but yeah, it was just very- straight forward and, again, it was my first day so it was a shocker"
"yeah- but i feel like you could have done better than that-" yoy rolled your eyes, smirking and acting unsatisfied with his answer which made the room laugh at your childish antics.
It was nice for the crowd to see your interactions with the older cast, you were around Aidens age give or take so they enjoyed watching the sibling rivalry you had with the cast members.
"Sorry Y/n- but honestly- yeah, yeah. That was actually harder than i thought- the scenes where you dont actually talk, are sometimes the scenes that are actually the trickiest"
"im so disapointed in you both" you shook your head jokingly.
"hey! No but we really, we mainky just have like funny moments" Emmy replied, looking at you. You actually agreed with her though, nodding. Things werent really as embarising as they were funny or memerable.
"Im always getting peoples names wrong actually- thats pretty embarrising? Especially when youve been working with them for like 2 months" Robert cringed. Just then Emmy jumped up and tapped both your and Robberts laps excititedly.
"oh! oh oh! Waot actually, i completely ate shit this season-" the look of excitememt on your face as you quickly realised what she was talking about was brilliant.
"Oh yeah!- yeah! Was that?-" you couldnt stop yourself from laughing as she nodded, laughing with you.
"Wait- wait what?"
"when she fell in the driveway-" you laughed harder and had to remove the mic beside you so everyone wouldnt hear your loud laughter.
Roberts face of realisation followed by an oohhhhh was hilarious making you laugh harder. He also laughed with you both and Emmy quickly composed herself- faster than yiu at least.
"you wouldnt have seen it yet- well i hope not"
"noooo i hope it comes out in the blooper shots" you laughed, "i can imagine the edits of you just faceplanting to the beat and-" you burst out laughing again, replaying her falling over in an edit where she just falls to the beat and had to compose yourself as you almost started crying.
"Oh my god youre crying-" Robert noticed, laughing hard at the situation and how hilarious you thought it was.
After a couple of moments you finally composed yourself and was nudged by Emmy. "How about you anyway, what was your emnarrising moment?"
"moments" you corrected, "honestly it was just terrible, they were all so cruel to me-" You joked, but Robert snuck round and poked you in the side, teasing you and making you jump a little.
For a moment you and your co star looked at one another, Robert reminding you of a very common yet embarrising thing they would all do to you. He teased a smirk on his face as you tried to glare at him.
Emmy looked back and forth between you both before realising Robert had snuck his hand behind her to poke you, she then jumped realising what you were both talking about.
"OH! Oh yeah- i almost forgot about that- oh you definately got it the worst actually" she laughed.
Robert looked away, grinning that he'd brought up a lovely embarrising situation for you. He looked at the crowd and could see as they were all confused at what was happening.
"wait- wait what happened?" The host asked, laughing at your expression as you tried to hide yourself as a blush grew on your face a little.
"You and Aiden definately got it worst actually if we're talking about that. Youre both so adorable-"
"Emmy!?" Your face was blushing a lot now at remembering the situation.
"yeah, ours was lame in comparison to yours actually Y/n/n" Robert laughed.
"Youre both so mean."
"go on, tell them what they want to hear about your embarrising moments" He nodded at the crowd and you gave him a half annoyed mostly joking face.
"i told you guys their cruel" You shifted yourself, avoiding the question which only earned you a poke from Emmy, grinning wating for you to answer. They both knew how flustered you'd get, and it was very rare and something that always made you nervous because you never knew how to act.
"come onnnn" she teased, Robert sat up, turning to you much like Emmy was. Like kids waiting to be read a bedtime story.
You deadpanned them both before grunting and sighing. Shifting yourself to answer.
"So in the show, with my power they usually put me in a harness or some other things- which is always awesome, but when were done before im let out these lot like to bully me-"
"its become some like ritural where before we get the crew to let them out we get to tickle them senseless" Robert finished, knowing fully well you wouldnt be able to but also giddy to tell the story himself.
"its always so cute because they'll just be hanging there and watching us approach or whoevers on set with them and they start laughimg before we even do anything" Emmy and Robert seemed much more keen on telling this story so you hid yourself behind your hands but couldnt stop your cheeks glowing red.
"its so adorable" Robert teased, poking you again and making you jump to glare at him. The crowd laughed and giggled, watching as Robert made some teasing grabby hands to you, making you smile wobbly and roll your eyes.
"I hate you both" you said embarressed.
"Aw" Emmy awed laughing along with Robert and the crowd, "dont feel embaressed, its cute, plus you love it" she comforted, putting a hand on yiur shoulder but then tickling your neck to make you giggle.
"Ehemmy! Stahap!- not nohow!" You giggled, swatting her away.
"oh so we have permissiom to do this later?" Robert teased, am arm behind the couch and relaxing.
"maybe, i'll think about it" you replied, trying to play it off cool and looking away. You then jokingly pulled the mic uo to your face and whispered that you'd need a ride and help straight after this making everyone in the room laugh.
"there our embarrising moments probably- Y/n definately takes the cake though" Emmy teased.
You all thanked the person for their question and the other questions continued as normal for about another 15 minutes or so before it did have to end.
Robert and Emmy and the whole main cast had figured out you enjoyed tickles early on in the first season thanks to this little thing you had going on, and you were okay with that. But you didnt want the whole world to know just yet, and so whenever it was brought up like this it was never offical and only teased. And much promised later backstage you were found laughing at their mercy, trying to fight them off but failing.
When you went home that night, you looked on tumblr and once again noticed how people were connecting he dots and adoring your scene as they did with many celebs. You sighed but laughed.
Embarrissing moment for sure.

Birthday Boy (Conor x Reader)
There were many perks that came along with dating Conor Maynard.
There was only one downfall. He toured like crazy.
Conor's birthday was coming up and originally you were unable to schedule a flight between a project you were directing and the show he was playing the night of his birthday. You felt horrible, but he seemed to take the news fine. He got to do what he loved and he wouldn't hold it against you that you were doing what you love. You were well matched in your passions and neither of you were selfish.
"Baby, I have an interview in a few minutes." Conor said into the laptop camera. It was the morning of his birthday and you made sure to Skype him when you knew he'd be up.
"Well I'll let you go. I just wanted to wish my man a happy birthday." You said, blowing a kiss to the screen.
"Aww, thanks babe. I can't wait to see you again." He blew a kiss back.
"I love you, Conor." You said, grinning ear to ear.
"I love you too, y/n." He replied. "I'll call you after my show tonight."
"Alright. Have a good day." You waved, shutting your laptop.
"JAAAAACK! We gotta go!" You yelled, running to the other room.
"I know, I know. The Uber is already downstairs with our bags in it. Grab your purse and let's go!" He said, checking he had everything.
Conor didn't know, but you finished your project a day early. You, Anna, and Jack would arrive in the city of his show two hours before the first act, Rudimental, went on stage. They knew you were coming, though. You had already talked to them and they were going to bring you on stage for a song before their encore songs. Give you and Conor a bit of time before he had to perform.
"We've gotta run, Jack. I don't want to miss our flight." You both ran, meeting Anna at the gate.
"You two look like you're in a hurry." She teased, coming up and throwing her arms around you.
"I'm glad your mum let you come with." You said to her.
"When I told her you were going, she was fine with it." Anna replied.
You three arrived at your destination nearly 6 hours later. "Someone is meeting us here, so keep an eye out for a sign." You said, grabbing your bag.
Half an hour later and you were on stage practicing with the band. Conor was still going to be at his hotel for another hour, so you figured a little practice couldn't hurt.
"Y/n you sounded great. And if you stop singing to talk to Conor or to dance with him, I'll keep the song going." One of the girls told you.
"Thank you all, so much. This is perfect and it wouldn't be possible without you." You thanked everyone.
"Really, we're stoked. And the audience is going to die with how cute you two are." She teased. "You guys can all hide in one of our dressing rooms until it's time. You can get dressed in there too."
Butterflies filled your stomach. You could sing, but you had a touch of stage fright. "Y/n, don't worry. I'm pretty sure he's going to cry." Jack said, trying to distract you.
"I'll be fine. I'm just nervous." You replied. Taking one last sip of water.
"It's time, love." One of Rudimental's stage hands came and got you from the dressing room, the siblings standing in the wings of the stage.
"Now everyone needs to quiet down for this next song. We have a big surprise for our buddy Conor. Y/n come out here!" You were introduced and Conor's fans went crazy. You had been in plenty of videos together, so they knew who you were.
"This beautiful lady is joining us and dedicating an old favorite to Conor for his birthday. Conor, I know you can hear me. This one's for you from your wonderful girlfriend." She said, handing you a mic and telling the band to start.
"Wise men say only fools rush in But I can't help falling in love with you Shall I stay Would it be a sin If I can't help falling in love with you."
You made it through the first part of the song before you saw him, eyes wide and hands over his mouth, walking to you from the side of the stage.
The crowd cheered and you put the mic in the stand, hugging him when he got to you. "Happy Birthday, baby." You said in his ear.
"Come on guys, I know you know the words." You heard someone say through the mic.
"Like a river flows Surely to the sea Darling, so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand, Take my whole life, too For I can't help falling in love with you"
The other singers and the crowd finished the song, letting you slowdance with Conor on his birthday.
"Give it up for these two love birds!" She called, the audience going crazy.
Guiding you off stage, Conor immediately pulled you back into his arms. "I had no fucking clue this was happening." He laughed, not wanting to let go. "I'm speechless. You sounded beautiful and you know I love that song."
"Thank you, love. I finished my project early, so Anna, Jack, and I decided to surprise you." You said, pulling him into a kiss. "God it's good to see you."
"They're here?!" Conor asked, still shocked any of this was happening.
"Conor!" Anna yelled, practically tackling the two of you.
"There she is." You laughed.
Jack walked up, hugging his brother. "Happy Birthday, mate."
"Can we come lead the crowd in Happy Birthday during your set?" Anna asked.
"Well, this is the best birthday present I've ever gotten, so why not." He answered her.
Looking back at you, he couldn't not smile. "You truly are amazing. Thank you so much." Taking you once more into his arms.

✦ MILENA TSCHARNTKE, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER ✦ SCOUT VOIGHT the  TWENTY-NINE year old has been in Hidehill for HER ENTIRE LIFE and was an  ACQUANTINCE to Jade Parker, the missing first murder victim. Whispers  on the streets are that the BOOK CLERK AT UNDERCOVER BOOKS who lives in  HIDE SQUARE. She is said to be OPEN and SELF-SABOTAGING but I guess  we’ll find out for ourselves.
Scout is the middle child of the Voight family— older to [ Kingston ], younger to Sybil. And, yes, she has fallen victim to the Middle Child Syndrome. Perhaps it was fitting that her first real taste of it came because of hockey. Because their father loved it, so did she. She borrowed his jersey and swam in the fabric, sitting on the floor of their trailer and watching the puck on the screen. She learned to cheer when her dad did. And she was excited for the day when she got to have skates of her own and play. But it wasn’t her; it was [ Kingston ]. She got a Barbie instead.
Throughout the years, Scout was there to support her brother. She eventually got her own skates and wasn’t afraid of a little one-on-one match up but most times she was in the stands, a book in her bag in emergency for those occasional blow-outs.
Then there was Sybil. Whatever attention [ Kingston’s ] hockey didn’t take, her sister’s shenanigans did. She’d learned a thing or two about getting into trouble during those years; a positive being that she could fly her own missteps (calculated or not) under the radar. Then suddenly, things changed. Yale? Harvard? Scout couldn’t win. She couldn’t be the athlete and now the smart one was taken. Guess someone had to fill the shoes of family disappointment.
She wasn’t so invisible when they had to come pick her up off of the front steps of her apartment, unsuccessful in getting her keys to “work” after knocking back countless shots. Or when there was video evidence of her dancing on the bar at Envy. Or that one time she’d called from jail. A misunderstanding, really.
It was the need for validation and also just the need for an outlet that Scout found herself on TikTok. Turns out people were curious about the life of a NHL player’s sister, even if it was just her rambling as she got ready or vlogs that she’d start but never fully finish until she woke up half-alive the next morning. It became like a diary for her. A bit oversharing. Or more than a bit. But people cared, or at least they tuned in.
While Scout had tried college out— not Yale, mind you— she left just a year shy of graduation. Undecided the whole way through, but she nearly committed to being an English major. That she imagined would have been just as disappointing to her father as when she dropped out. Those books she brought to the rink had fed a love for stories. There were notes on her phone with snippets of books she’d never write, word documents of half chapters, and stacks of books with worn spines throughout her place.
It was also that love that brought her to Undercover Books. A job where she got to read in her downtime? Felt a little unfair to all the busy, hardworking people out there wanting to kill their bosses. Sure, Scout did need a push some days to be a better worker, whether it was recording a TikTok or showing... that was a nasty habit of hers. She’d be late to her own funeral.
Skateboarding is her main form of transportation. It became a personality trait after she rematched Sleepover in her twenties and saw Julie in that red dress being the epitome of cool. Does she have her license? Yes. Car? No. Should she be trusted behind the wheel? Most likely not.
Is a crier. And she’s not too shy about it. In fact, she has been known to openly get her groceries with mascara stains still on her cheeks. But sometimes a bitch just needs to get her emotional support Cheez-Its.
Scout loves her siblings. I mean, sure, she gets frustrated by them almost weekly but in terms of the whole middle child thing, that she blames mostly on her parents.
Studied abroad in London for the summer just before leaving college.

♛ ¦ 𝗬𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗢 𝗞𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗢'𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗚𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
༺ 𝚘𝚗 𝚖𝚢 𝚠𝚊𝚢 𝚋𝚢 𝚍𝚘𝚔𝟸 (𝚏𝚎𝚊𝚝. 𝚣𝚒𝚘𝚗.𝚝) [ 0:00 - 0:52 ]
how did kaito get to where he's at right now? well, it was mostly just him throwing himself into all of this the moment that he had heard about the new season of next gen. did he know what the show was? not really, he wasn't one who usually kept up with audition shows ( especially since most of the time he was busy with working ), though when a friend sent him the information about the audition show, kaito decided to give it a shot.
what was the worst that could happen? if he failed, well it wouldn't be the first time and most likely wouldn't be the last either.
–––  ❛  the performance 【 lime entertainment 】
after watching the video that the judges recorded for them kaito is already running through the long list of songs in his head to perform, of course mostly rap songs due to him not having the vocal skills to even give the judges anything close to what they'd be expecting of them.
he could have also danced, though with just 60 seconds given to them it would be impossible for him to really show what he'd want to, so rapping was the best bet for him in the end. thus, as he enters the room with the others he sits by and waits to be called on, keeping a close eye on those in the group to more or less analyze the 'competition' he's up against.
only when he's called does he avert his attention to the judges as he gets up and makes his way over to the center. he takes a moment to introduce himself properly, telling them his name, age, where he's from, and even his current occupation, or rather occupations, though he doesn't go into too much detail because he knows this is an audition show and not the time to be telling his whole life story right now.
soon after he's starting with a smooth rap, his body even naturally moving along slightly while his head bobs to the rhythm. kaito makes sure to keep his attention on the judges, making eye contact with each of them as he does so since he knows it's rude to not maintain eye contact with those watching. it's something that he's learned over the past few years while dancing, that maintaining eye contact with the audience was like some sort of respect towards them and shows them that you're actually doing it for them to enjoy as well. at least that's how kaito thought of it anyway.
he manages to finish smoothly, taking a short moment to sort out his own thoughts before the rapid questions begin.
–––  ❛  rapid q&a 【 sr media 】
“Why do you want to become a kpop idol?”
the question doesn't surprise him at all, especially with this being an audition show. in fact, he would have actually been more surprised if this type of question didn't come up at some point and thankfully he doesn't need to think about his answer. "i have a few reasons actually, though the main reason would be that i want to do music while sharing what i'm doing with the world. i have a strong passion for rapping and dancing, so i'd love to share my own passions with more people while performing on stage someday."
“What would you do if you won ₩1,000,000,000 (~$750,000) in the lotto?”
"that's easy. i would send it to my parents back in japan so that they could take some time off, maybe even not have to work for a while, and just let them spend their days not having to struggle." of course that's one of the other reasons why kaito was determined to debut someday. to make money ( like he is now with his part-time jobs ) and help support his parents and younger sibling, all while doing something that he enjoys in the process.
“What’s your favorite useless fact?”
"my favorite useless fact, or at least one of them, is that there is no word in the English language that rhymes with the word 'month'." even though his english wasn't entirely the best out there, this was something that an old penpal he had a few years ago had sent him. ever since then it had been a fact he sometimes thought about when he was bored and tried looking up english words that may actually be at least close to the word, however, till this day he still hasn't found one that rhymes.
“What was the first thing you thought about when you woke up this morning?”
he smiles a little at this, thinking about what he first thought of when he woke up. "my first thought was about what i wanted to eat for breakfast. actually that's the first thing i think of every day, especially since i'm a bit of a 'foodie'." a small chuckle comes from him, not because he's embarrassed about this fact, but because he hadn't really realized this until just now. with constantly working to make money, it seems as if he's always hungry after using a lot of his energy towards his work.
–––  ❛  unique skill 【 studio delta 】
finally it's time for his 'unique skill', though out of everything he could possibly think of that he can actually do, kaito decides to show off how he can beatbox. it was something that he just happened to discover one day back in japan while hanging out with his dance friends, the group just chilling at the time and goofing off while taking a short break.
"i actually have a few things that i'm capable of showing everyone, but i'd like to show off my beatboxing skills today. i'm not exactly a pro but i'd like to think that i'm at least decent at this enough to not be embarrassed by showing all of you."
kaito takes only a short moment before he begins, showing a small part of what he can really do ( well besides rapping and dancing that is ). thankfully this was something he continued to work on over the past few years, even going as far as to watch youtube videos at times to try and do better. even though it's not something that can really show off his artistic talents, it's something that not too many people in the world can really do, so he's actually proud of himself for being one of those few out there that can manage pulling off the whole beatbox skill.
he doesn't do too much, just showing off enough for the judges to be satisfied before he stops. the only thing that kaito can do now is just wait and see what the results are in the end. again, it's not like he'd be entirely disappointed if they told him he failed, after having done so many auditions now it was something he had learned to not do.
don't get your hopes up because it'll only disappoint you in the end even more when you fail.

❣️ + Lance & Pidge!
Tumblr media
SEND ME ❣️ + A SHIP AND I’LL TELL YOU…     [   VOL. 2   ]
Who is the little spoon? Pidge likes to jetpack and nuzzle into Lance's back but she also likes curling up and having Lance snuggle in behind her.
Who sings in the shower? Usually Lance but it's not unheard of that Pidge (off-key) sang a song in the shower.
Who plays pranks on the other? Both equally, they're both gremlins who grew up with siblings so they know all the good ideas that are easy to pull off successfully and they both just have fun messing around with each other.
Who is the one who listens to pop music? Lance. Pidge doesn't listen to music much because she needs silence in order to focus on work or the video game she's playing or book she's reading, so listening to music isn't something she got into much.
Who brings the other a random cup of joe? Lance to Pidge because she's a machine too much sometimes when she gets busy with coding or hacking and she needs it if she wants to finish what she's working on.
Who picks the cheesy movies for date night? They both do, whether to laugh at something ridiculous or figure out if something is so bad it's good they're both down for a cheesy movie.
Who is more likely to feed the other in public? Both of them, and they both mooch fries off each other.
Who gives the other random little compliments? Pidge compliments Lance a lot knowing the affirmation means a lot to him even if he didn't ask for it.
Who is always stealing food from the other’s plate? Pidge is since she's a grazer. She'll not order much of something but then still steal a bite or two off Lance's plate while eating her own order.
Who is more likely to let the other borrow their car? They'd both loan it equally if it was needed. After piloting Lions for years they can both be trusted to handle a simple car.
Who makes the list before they go grocery shopping? Neither of them should totally be trusted with the grocery list because it'd probably be more snacks than anything. Pidge is a grazer with food so she'd have a ton of snacks in her room if she was allowed to.
Who makes sure the other takes their meds when sick? Both, they're both good about making sure the other is taken care of when they're sick. Pidge may just be picky about which medicine she takes depending on the flavor of it.
Who watches sports and has to teach the other the rules? Lance 100% has to teach Pidge rules to almost any sport because Pidge did the bare minimum in gym class in school so if he convinced her to watch a game on TV he'd definitely have to explain what's going on to her.
Who pulls the other to their feet for a dance in the living room? Lance finding a good Cuban song to dance to and they clumsily try to salsa to it.
Who has to keep reminding the other to hurry or they’ll be late? Lance has to remind Pidge to put the computer or video game down and get going or else they're gonna be late. When Pidge gets sucked into hyperfocusing on what she's doing she needs a good yank to bring her attention back to stuff around her.
Who is the one most likely to get a tattoo with the other’s name? Idk if I could see either of them doing it but I guess Lance if I had to pick one??

Conversation with My Younger Self
If your younger self could see you and speak to you right now, will he or she be happy with what you have become?
A TikTok trend surfaced on the internet with people using Keane’s iconic “Somewhere Only We Know” sound over edited videos of themselves and their baby pictures, toddler pictures, teenage pictures - captioned with questions such as “Are we happy yet?”, “Did we finish school?”, “How’s mom doing?”, and basically the present person’s picture will be seen with the answer to the question.
When this became a trend, most entries will give you mixed emotions. There are those who have pursued their childhood dreams and became flight attendants, doctors, lawyers, pursued dancing, became the professionals they’ve dreamt and probably roleplayed when they were young. Some of them who were bullied in school and were detached as a kid have a full circle of friends now, some were happily married, some have children and a happy family. Then, there are those entries that will leave you in tears such as when a loved one- may it be Grandparent, or parent, siblings, or even pets- who used to be there, are not present anymore in their lives.
There is no template to what questions you can input in this video trend, if it is answerable with a picture of the present self, such as if you used to watch marvel movies as a kid vs. the current self-picture who still goes to the cinema to catch the latest Marvel movie, it can be included in the video. But as I watch most entries under this sound, there’s a commonality to them all.
Almost all of them ask themselves if they are happy now, in the present time.
Personally, I did not want to do this trend although I’m a hype for TikTok trends. When I stumble upon these videos (and thanks to algorithm because it keeps popping up on my For You Page), to be honest, I find it cool how they could handle their emotions as they edit those pictures and ask their selves tough questions like that.
As someone who is highly emotional, I admire those who hopped on that trend because they are transparent to their inner self, their inner child. It’s not easy to ask yourself questions specially asking about your emotional state right now at this age where we are all confused with our whereabouts in life.
I didn’t hop on this trend because I feel like my younger self will be disappointed in me. I didn’t get to do my dream job, nor do I have dreams for my career right now. I just show up at work because I need to earn since I’m a breadwinner, and while that sucks, that’s reality of life. My family still lives in this shabby house and we’re still living paycheck to paycheck, and I don’t have a clue on how I could make our situation better for my parents to live a carefree life.
But looking back, and really looking deep into our situation, I realized that I am currently living the life that I just used to write about.
While I’m not yet a 6-digit earner, I can now give my mom extra allowance when she asks for it. I may not have my dream job, but my job feeds me and my family and so I find it important to be present and still do my best. After all, we can learn to love a thing or two. I have work friends from my previous work that are so impactful in my life as they are pushing me to become someone, I can be proud of. I am still friends with my Highschool friends especially my main best friends who I meet up with every month. I am still close to my college friends who checks on me occasionally when they have time even if they are stressed in their own field. I am trying my best to save up and find ways to acquire a house for my family and my dogs. I have 5 completely healthy dogs, and my dog who I once wrote about is 7 years old now – still with us and is healthy and strong.
My parents and I were able to send off my baby sister to college, and she just graduated last month. As an older sister, I strived to give her the things she wants even if it entailed a few sacrifices.
While I haven’t traveled out of this country yet, I was able to travel to a few scenic places where the beach, the sunset, the mountain, and city view, felt relaxing. I can eat what I crave and not just sleep it off. I can buy expensive makeups and clothes that I want to wear, and not just live off hand-me-downs from relatives.
I have a partner that makes me feel safe and calm and we are fur-parent of a baby dog now.
Each day, I wake up and I feel contented already as long as I have coffee to sip while I prep up and see my parents sleeping the morning off.
Maybe I was wrong when I said I didn’t hop on the trend about that “conversation with my younger self”, because I felt like my younger self will be disappointed.
Because the truth is, if my younger self sees the present me, she will be nothing but proud of the sacrifices I made for our family.
My younger self will be proud of who I have become, and how I have lived this life so far… and how I’m still living it.
Tumblr media
And if she asks, “Are we happy yet?”, I can confidently say “Yes, I am.”

Biweekly Media Roundup
- Everything Everywhere All At Once (Movie) - Desperately need to find a way to force my loved ones to watch this. What a fantastic experience, not since The Good Place have I seen a piece of media that so expertly marries incredibly moving and relevant themes about life and morality with absolute batshit chaotic comedy and the most out there scenes you will ever bear witness to. 10/10 Everything I could ever want.
- Interior Design Masters (TV) - I mean I like interior design but boy do I wish they would stop putting the contestants in teams, it’s fine sometimes but I wanna see just one complete vision for once.
- The Umbrella Academy (TV) - While I’m not sure the season was as cohesive as the first when it comes to themes or narrative, I did have a lot of fun with this one. I appreciate all the sibling interactions we got, the multiple dance scenes, the end of the world wedding and outside destruction effect, and more Lila. Also Klaus’ whole plot was great, as usual. And of course the music is on point and incorporated so well into the scenes, which has been one of the series greatest strengths from day 1. I’m glad this hasn’t fallen into the Stranger Things/Westworld Seasonal rot and as a whole each new season has been more or less as entertaining as the previous ones, though in some cases it does kinda feel like they’re making some of it up as they go so hopefully they do actually have a master ending they are working towards, even if the exact details are malleable.
- First Kill (TV) - Enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to, and I did figure I would like it. It was just the right mix of sincerity and corniness, and I just adored how much each of the families loved each other in their own odd little way. I was of course on board from the moment I read the monster/monster-hunter lesbian drama/comedy premise but there was a lot that surprised me, like how well written and likable both of the mothers were, how unfetishized the lesbian relationships were (no homophobia or creepy frat bros to be found), and how they actually bothered to write an interesting ongoing plot outside of the forbidden romance.
- Witch Hat Atelier (Manga) - Still great, eagerly awaiting anime news.
- Land of the Lustrous (Manga) - Back from a 1+ year long hiatus, it was actually really nice to see all the gems vibin on the moon, though of course the last part had to remind us about poor Phos and their horrible awful no good very bad 10,000 year solitary vacation.
- Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (Video Games) - Caved in and got it because I miss these characters and wanted to see the new supports. I’m getting more used to the gameplay, though I still prefer 3 houses, and am a bit disappointed that there weren't nearly as many supports as I was led to believe, but I am liking newcomers Monica and Shez and can’t say I’m not having fun so eh.
- Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations (Video Game) - AS a whole this game has been leagues better than it’s predecessor so far, with the first two cases being bangers and the third being adequate enough. I love all the extra time with Mia and think the crimes are at least a bit more sensical this time around. My main complaint is that I miss Franziska, who was great, and am kind of disappointed in Godot, who’s design I like but who’s personality seems to be unessisarly mean and boring which I really did not expect from his design. Maybe he’ll get better in the last case, I do want to like him, it’s just not working for me.
- Shadows House (Anime) - Very underrated light horror/mystery, finished season one with my sister in time for the current airing of the second season. It’s hard to talk about without giving anything away given how good the series is at throwing you blind into it’s setting and slowly revealing wtf is happening in interesting and organic ways, but suffice it to say it’s got a really unique premise that I’m super intrigued to get more of.
Listening to: Patron Saint by Regina Spektor, Cold Cold Man by Saint Motel, Cardiac Arrest by Bad Suns, Killin’ It by Foxy Shazam, Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money, Sympathy by The Goo Goo Dolls, Planetary (GO!) by My Chemical Romance, Heathers OST, Cat’s in the Cradle by Harry Chapin, Encanto OST, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon OST

A3! Troupes as parents
NEEDED TO GET THESE OUT SO HERE WE ARE LET'S GOOOO!
Please enjoy! 💕
🌸 Spring Troupe 🌸
Sakuya
Was definitely hesitant to have kids because of his past. What if he wasn’t up to the task?
However part of him also wanted to believe he’s not gonna be like his foster families.
The moment he carries his son for the first time -who in return wraps his tiny hand around his finger- Sakuya notices himself crying from the overwhelming amount of love he feels.
Tries to include himself in anything his son does whether it’s his interests or activities at school. He wants him to always feel supported and cared for.
Just, a soft and gentle dad. He’s so glad to have his son in his life.
Masumi
Extremely protective, especially if he has a daughter??
Like, he’s incredibly attached to her and doesn’t let her know what personal space is because he’s always carrying her and giving her kisses.
Also keep him at bay because Masumi won’t blink twice before consenting his daughter absolutely everything she might want.
Not very good with words, but will try to remember how his grandma was with him and imitate her the best he can.
Forever his little girl. He might be listening to her rambling about something and suddenly pat her in the head murmuring something like “…don't grow up too fast.”
Itaru
Low-key scared to mess it up -this event is for life what do you expect.
When his son is born though something in his heartstrings go boom. “Looking forward to loving you for a while” he jokes while holding him.
Talks to him like he would do to another adult, especially if he’s tired “Let’s make a deal, I give you your milk and you give me tops ten minutes to use my LP, then we can continue crying together.”
Gaming buddy since baby is able to handle a controller. Lets him appear on his streams and wears matching sets of headphones - the chat goes absolutely feral.
Has however absolutely NO mercy when playing video games with him.
Once he was thinking whether he should pull for a gacha his son moved him and pulled it making him get like 4 SRR and he and the baby stare at each other like???
Citron
Of course he calls his daughter princess.
She definitely takes after him. Both of them are the definition of chaotic. “Go higher, daddy! Higher!” she screams laughing as Citron flies with her over his shoulders around the room.
He goes to every single school event and you bet he’ll be the type to stand up and cheer like mad or give a standing ovation even when no one else is.
Loves to get on his knees and dance with her?? My heart???
It’s a special moment, with music in the background, feeling her cheek and arms smashed against him. When they separate he bows. She bows back giggling. And Citron’s heart grows ten times at the sound and wastes no time showering her with kisses.
Tsuzuru
Years of babysitting his siblings have prepared him for this he is rEadY.
To be fair he’s probably also traumatized so he just wants to have a small family. To his delight he gets a daughter and a son not long after.
He’s a bit lost at how to deal with his oldest one at first but kids are kids and he soon learns how to braid and take care of her hair every morning.
Because he’s usually up at night he’s the one who most likely go to calm the kids down -especially his youngest son- if they had a bad dream or suddenly hears them calling for something.
His kids adore listening to him telling stories before bed. They however get also overly excited and keep asking him questions about the story once he’s finished. That is, until they exhaust themselves and Tsuzuru takes each of them to their rooms with a tired but fond smile on his face.
Chikage
Honestly, having kids was the last thing he expected to have given all he had gone through.
Doesn’t know how to act around his son at first, mostly because his kid is much, much more attached to him than he expected.
He ends up carrying him almost every time, and gets used to the newborn smell he gives off. It's soothing, somehow.
Watches with curiosity as his son holds clumsily onto his leg, propping himself up the floor. “Eager to walk, aren’t we?” he ruffles his hair wearing a proud smile.
As he grows older becomes very protective of him, and will most likely provide him with all the knowledge he can to make sure he can keep himself safe.
🔆 Summer Troupe 🔆
Tenma
Okay but listen I bet he tried to tempt his son to eat his baby food by trying it himself, then nearly gagged and the only thing he was able to say was “eugh- yuMM!”.
Anyway, he imagined parenting was stressful but was also like eh it CAN’T be that bad right?? He was SO wrong.
Tenma knows too much about having busy and famous parents so he will try to spend as much time as he can with his son and I’m sure he will support anything he might wanna do as he grows up.
Also I can just imagine Tenma during a red carpet event taking his shy son into his arms during an interview, answering questions as the little boy hides in his chest.
And when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up and his boy said “Like daddy!” If you saw him cry no you didn’t. He’s completely smitten by him.
Yuki
Knew his main goal once his son was born was to make him confident in himself no matter what. He teaches him to stand by if mean comments come his way- not afraid to answer back.
So not much to everyone’s surprise he becomes a fast-talker and quick-witted little boy and yuki is so proud.
Yuki LOVES to dress his son up and will often wear matching outfits with him. His room is a dream too.
He’s up for anything. His son wants to wear a skirt/do makeup/paint his nails? He’s already calling Azami to get the best stuff.
Just- Yuki loving his son so much and being always there for him.
Muku
As a new dad he is such a ball of nerves.
Reads every single parenting book he can find.
But honestly far from having to worry because this little girl charms absolutely everyone at first sight?? She is a doll and Muku adores her baby girl.
Also a bit of a bookworm who really enjoys reading books together at bedtime. A habit that stays around for a surprisingly long while much to Muku’s delight.
Gifted with her father’s athleticism and sweet nature, Muku does his best to let her know she can do anything she sets her mind to.
Kazu
Makes dad jokes on purpose.
Would probably post the news of him becoming a parent all over his socials.
I BET he wore his best clothes when her daughter was born so that she would “have a good impression of him.”
Has like a bazillion nicknames for her. Also takes so many pictures it’s insane and you bet he will also record EVERYTHING from her first walk to her first words. Literally his entire mobile is filled with photos of his daughter and they’re his wallpapers on his phone and computer for sure!
I think he would be the fun dad that’s always so lively and makes his kid confide in him no matter the situation, the topic or how awkward it is.
Kumon
Kumon holding his daughter for the first time is an instant click. They are just two sunshines, loud and energetic blinding everyone wherever they go.
I think he would be the type to put his daughter on his shoulders a lot or just throw them into the air.
Sweets aren’t a thing in his house -his daughter doesn’t really pay them much mind either- but he will give in from time to time.
One of his favorites things to do while playing is to tickle and nuzzle her in the crook of her neck until she can’t stop laughing.
Kumon will also most likely take her to baseball matches if she’s interested and will probably buy a tiny cap of his favorite baseball team for them to wear together.
Misumi
Super validating of whatever his eldest and youngest son enjoy. He is so happy to see his two children playing together and can somehow see himself and Madoka in them.
He would happily teach them everything they ask for just like his grandfather did, like them the importance of friendship, or asking for help when needed.
Apart from triangular toys and clothes, double piggyback rides are a thing in his household!!
He always bounced each of them as a baby on his lap until they let out that cute squealing giggle.
When they are old enough he takes them to the BEST places for stargazing at night. Both of them love it so much.
🍁 Autumn Troupe 🍁
Taichi
Surprisingly capable of handling everything thanks to his young siblings.
His son is a carbon copy of him and they become best friends from the start.
Loves to go play with him to the park and built pillow forts in his room. They are super loud too not gonna lie, but because of that he grows up to be a carefree and happy kid.
Taichi is the type of dad that will probably get teary-eyed if his kid falls and cries and is more anxious about the first day of school than his own child.
Wants his son to think he is the coolest dad EVER so he is very weak when he gets asked for things or favors.
Banri
Of course his daughter is the best, was there any doubt?
Too cool to be affected by anything that might be embarrassing, so there’s a good chance he wears washable marker all over his face to the mall because he “needed some makeup too”.
Might have said a few bad words in front of her that she MIGHT have picked up and used later on but where’s the evidence.
She’ll take after Banri in that she likes to battle with the concept of authority, questioning nearly everything and will drive many teachers up the wall, although they also recognize the extent of her talent and charisma.
Banri is obviously pleased to have a daughter capable of thinking for herself instead of blindly following others defying sleeping hours maybe not so much.
Azami
TWIN DAUGHTERS I REPEAT HE HAS TWIN DAUGHTERS.
Oh I can already tell he would spoil them rotten. Like, even though he’s not the most expressive they are his little princesses and deserve the best. He lets them play dress-up and tea parties with him and they always put makeup on him with little tiaras and they love to try to braid his hair.
I want to think they tell him every single thing and there are almost no secrets between the three of them because aside from them respecting their dad’s opinions he gives really good advice and words of wisdom.
Prepares them THE best bath times ever and honestly you have never seen two little girls with better skin than them.
Anyway Azami would be an amazing dad to his little girls and you can’t change my mind.
Omi
Omi isn’t sure if he is allowed to feel this happy the moment he holds his son in his arm. He will press his forehead against him while whispering a promise to always be there for him.
The type of parent who makes homemade baby food and I’m SO sure he makes the majority of the toys too.
One of his favourite things to do is to put on the baby harness across his chest while he works and bakes -catch him in the kitchen wearing an apron and whipping up his son’s favorite smiley face pancakes.
He’s so soft for his son and loves to shower him with kisses.
But also just like his father did with him, he’s 100% the dad that rough-houses with him from time to time, tackling and throwing him around a little, his son loves it so much.
Sakyo
He's the type of dad who's scared of his daughter growing up too fast.
Will definitely present solid ground rules that are expected to follow. His daughter will be above all be raised responsibly.
This said while whiners don’t have room in his house, he will give in from time to time– silent puppy dog eyes are his big weakness.
Will never EVER miss a play, performance, or sports game (Sakoda also likes to tag along).
Incredibly supportive to push his kid towards pursuing their passion in any and every possible way.
Juza
He should have some memories from when Kumon was young but honestly nothing comes to his head.
Worries at first that his own child would be scared of him but instead was met with his son's little hands and smile reaching towards him, and honestly has barely time to swallow real hard not to sob right there.
They have plenty of staring contests. Call it bonding...?
He’s also gonna stare at his son like??? in silence when he changes his first diaper. Someone help him.
Will be curious and taste baby food once immediately regrets it.
❄ Winter troupe ❄
Homare
He’s SO prepared to be a dad.
I can picture him buying everything in the baby store. He will ESPECIALLY buy him personalized fancy clothes and then everyone is half crying because, please dress your son like a baby not a lord from 30s.
What can you do Homare exists to create art and please his son.
Anyhow you all bet this sweet boy will become the very best gentleman following his father’s steps, learning how to do poetry ( he’s just scribbling for now though Homare dismisses it and will most likely put it in one of his works, much to his editor’s dismay) and of course dance.
Of course he makes special poems for his son who babbles happily and claps whenever his dad gets particularly extra.
Hisoka
Hisoka will take quite a while to even think of being a parent, but the moment his soft-spoken little girl yawns he’s done for. He will protect her with his life.
That said in the daily life he is a 𝗉𝗋𝖾eeet𝗍𝗒 𝗅𝖺𝗂𝖽 𝖻𝖺𝖼𝗄 dad.
Thankfully this little girl is wise beyond her years, and will often say things that surprise the adults around her. An “old soul” if you may.
Developes a sweet tooth regarding chocolate, and honestly he doesn’t make it any better as he bends to his daughter every whim, because if daddy gets his share of marshmallows so shall she.
Can't help but bring her into the bed when she whines about how she doesn’t wanna sleep alone, placing her next to him in the cozy blankets, moving the hair out of her face before caressing her hue cheeks and falling asleep snuggling against her.
Tsumugi
He’s somewhat self-conscious thinking he will do something wrong and is constantly asking himself if he’s good enough to be his daughter’s father.
But to be honest his daughter is?? A bliss. This shy sweet girl is constantly reminding him how much she loves him, and Tsumugi can’t help but feel the luckiest when she smiles at him like that.
He definitely names flowers after her and even arranges flower crowns for her to wear.
If his kid ends up liking theatre it would be amazing but anything that makes her happy is enough for him.
So yeah, everytime he looks at her is a daydream to him. Tsumugi is always looking at how to be a better father for her.
Guy
It’s kinda cute how concentrated he is watching his baby boy doing absolutely nothing but babbling for hours.
But yeah no this man is ATTENTIVE he knows the exact time when his kid has to be fed and already distinguishes the different cries from hunger, sleep and so on.
Will most likely also speak to him in Zahfran.
He will feel the urge to press his lips the moment he hears his son say “Dada!” for the first time. I’m not crying you are.
As his son grows older he will ask him about his day, his interests, and most important will encourages discussion about his FEELINGS while sharing a cup of tea- He's very protective of him and will always put him first over everything else.
Tasuku
Has a rough time adjusting to the whole being a dad. Not because he doesn't love his kids (a boy and a girl, much to his shock) it's just... different from anything he had experienced before.
So yeah he’s more than a bit clumsy while handling them at first but gets the hang of it as time passes. He would be the really supportive, loving dad that doesn’t really know how to communicate well with words
Also makes dad jokes by accident.
Carried both of them on his shoulders once (he obviously CAN have you seen him) and now they just don’t stop asking him for shoulder rides.
Takes them to many of his rehearsals and honestly they are extremely in awe of how his dad acts and whenever he sees or hears them re-enacting some of his plays with exaggerated moves and sounds? his chest practically burst from pride.
Azuma
Azuma will most likely lean more towards fostering kids rather than having one of his own due to his childhood.
He lets them sleep with him when they’re having a bad night or wake up scared from a nightmare because he knows what it feels like.
And then one day this boy, a bit older than the rest of the kids he had been fostering appears and makes way into Azuma’s heart so much can’t conceive not having him in his life until finally adopts him.
He will sit down with him, crayons and pencils splayed usually all over the table while they both do some books coloring
Soft eyes and sweet voice, this boy is the most gentle thing Azuma has seen and is so glad he will be able to see him grow.
