I love the Howling Commandos so much, they’re so underrated if you ask me, especially the awesome dynamic they 100% had. I imagine all of them in very specific ways, some things are based off of fics I’ve read, some of it is just me.

Steve Rogers: Steve is the youngest of them all, he’s also the least experienced one and he hasn’t been part of the group nearly as long as the others considering he came into the picture after Kreischberg. He’s really fun to talk to and he’s as much of a little shit as the others are, being the leader of their group he’s in charge of tacking care of talking to superiors and shit, and he often ignores direct orders to do what he thinks is a better option, he also lets his team get away with things regular soldiers wouldn’t be allowed to do and they love him for it. He often gets yelled at by Bucky after doing stupid shit, the other Howlies often jokingly refer to him as “Dad” when it’s just them.

Bucky Barnes: Bucky has the others’ immense respect from the start, because he’s protective and caring as much as he hates to admit it. He is the only one who has negative amount of problems yelling at Steve after he did some stupid shit, he was the most scarred by Kreischberg but never lets it show. He loves music and always has a song stuck in his head and has fun pissing the others off by butchering the songs when it’s safe to be loud. He trusts Steve more than he probably should and goes with his plans, though he often forces him to modify them and cut down the crap. His protectiveness and strictness when Steve’s being a dumbass gets the others to nickname him “Mom” when they’re in private. He ‘hates’ it.

Dum Dum Dugan: Dum Dum was Bucky’s closest friend after Steve, he has a stupid sense of humor and says way too many dad jokes than is good for his teammates’ mental health. He’s always the first to jump at the opportunity to get his hands on some alcohol (no one complains about that) and he and Jim are the primary clowns of the group. He loves to tease the others, especially “Mom” and “Dad”.

Jim Morita: Jim is the one in charge of their immediate medical problems and small tech involved stuff, like Dugan, he has a shit sense of humor and they often get into battles of who can out dad-joke the other.

Gabe Jones: like Dum Dum, Gabe has known Bucky since before Azzano, and is the one in charge of languages, he speaks French and German more fluently than the others do and in the beginning he was usually in charge of dealing with Jacques’ bullshit.

Monty Falsworth: Monty is the only official member of the Howlies who isn’t broke (he is often teased about it). He could be considered the most sane of the Howlies (though not by far) he is the most experienced of the group to talk about strategy and often helps Steve and helps Bucky knock some reason into the little shit. They like to tease him for living up to every British stereotype and is often asked to ‘translate’ what Peggy says. He has a sister named Jaqueline who is a spy for the SOE.

Jacques Dernier: Jacques was a member of the French resistance, he’s from Marseille and is fully fluent in English but refuses to speak it. He understands everything the others tell him but speaks to them in French and lets them deal with it, after over a year of dealing with him all of the Howlies are more or less fluent in French. They call him a fucking pyromaniac because of his love of explosives and his talent with them. He also has a shit sense of humor that rivals with Dum Dum and Jim and is probably the most batshit crazy member of the team (though the others are pretty close behind him).

Howard Stark is considered an honorary member of the Howlies idc about any contradiction: rule n°1 when it comes to Howard Stark; don’t leave him alone with Jacques Dernier. They will set something on fire or worse. He and Monty are often laughed at for having money and they tease back by talking about rich people problems in front of the others. He is called a lot of names by the Howlies such as things like “Gadget”, “Engineer”, “Civilian”, “Civy” and things among those lines making fun of him not technically being a part of the military. He is involved in a lot of the Howlies’ inside jokes including the “Mom” and “Dad” thing.

Turning Point (Tales From The SSR)

Summary: An influenza outbreak incapacitates the 107th Tactical Team while out in the field and as they work to nurse (Y/N) back to health, Steve and Peggy finally have a moment alone.

A/N: Hi guys! This one-shot was originally gonna be about something else entirely, but it sort of evolved into this and I went along with it lol thank you for reading, I hope you all enjoy!

Turning Point March 1944 The Forests of Mount Oeta, Axis-Occupied Greece (Previous One-Shot)

Three months after their official formation, the 107th Tactical Team found themselves camping out in the dense forests of Mount Oeta as they traveled through Greece to destroy the second of five Hydra bases scattered throughout Europe. The intelligence they’d received from the SOE and several Greek Resistance groups pointed to the Hydra facility – a weapons manufacturing plant similar to the Austrian factory in Kreischberg that many of their team had recently been held in as POW’s – being located near the village of Gorgopotamos. They’d been ordered to stand by for further approval from their commanding officers at the Strategic Scientific Reserve and not long after setting up camp in a frosty clearing, nearly every member of their team came down with influenza.

Falsworth, Dugan and Morita were the first of them to fall ill, quickly followed by Dernier, Jones and Peggy; Bucky seemed to luck out, only suffering very mild symptoms that cleared up after twenty-four hours and thanks to the super-soldier serum flowing through Steve’s veins, he was spared from catching the infection. (Y/N), being the only other person who hadn’t succumbed to the illness, helped Steve and Bucky care for the others and slowly nursed all six of their comrades back to health. However, it was then that the codebreaker herself finally came down sick and unfortunately, her symptoms were the worst by far; as the hours turned into a day and a day turned into two, she showed little to no sign of improvement and an unspoken fear of losing their beloved codebreaker slowly filled them all one by one. And since he was the leader of their tactical team and responsible for every single member he’d personally recruited, Steve was wracked with a heavy guilt that only continued to grow the sicker (Y/N) became.

“Cap? You with me, Cap?”

Steve tore his gaze away from the makeshift medical tent they’d erected at the start of their camp’s epidemic and looked over at Morita, who was sitting cross-legged on his standard-issue sleeping bag and attempting to tune their scuffed Stark Industries radio. “Sorry, Morita. What was it?”

“I was just askin’ you if you think we should use the radio transceiver to call for help.” He patted the portable SCR-300 unit as his chapped lips pursed in worry. “I know that Stark said it’s only got enough juice for one long-distance transmission, but (Y/L/N)’s not gettin’ any better and-”

“That transceiver’s our only way of receiving the order from headquarters to move in and we can’t afford to jeopardize this mission by using up its one and only transmission,” Steve replied, hating the tactical words he found himself uttering despite the indisputable truth they held. “I wish we could, but we have our orders.”

A disappointed but understanding look crossed Morita’s face, and he gave Steve a short nod before returning his attention to the radio resting on his lap. Steve’s jaw tightened in an effort to remain composed as he detected the faint sounds of the codebreaker vomiting into a bucket and as he paced around the wide clearing, he took a moment to survey their camp and its morose occupants; their days-long trek through the mountains of Greece meant that they’d all been cut off from any news of their friends and family back home, and (Y/N)’s poor health had only lowered their already dwindling morale. Falsworth and Dernier – both distracted by worry for their families’ safety back home in a post-Operation Steinbock England and Nazi-Occupied France – were heading off to their sentry duties while Dugan and Jones – who were on-edge since they’d caught wind of the successful sinking of the USS Grayback by Japanese aircraft off the coast of Okinawa, yet another American ship sunk since the start of the war – were coming back from their patrol. Morita, unable to contact his mother and grandparents imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp back home in the States, was preoccupying himself with tuning their battered radio so that they could catch up to date with any news from the front. Some leader I am, Steve scoffed at himself and kicked at a fallen pinecone as he paced, if I can’t lead them like this then how am I gonna keep them safe out there on the battlefield?

Hearing Dugan and Jones’ heavy footsteps approaching, Steve wiped the apprehensive look off his face and replaced it with a more stoic stare as he turned to face both men. “How’s (Y/L/N) doin’?” The tense silence of the camp was punctuated by the sounds of dry heaving emanating from the medical tent, causing all three men to wince in sympathy. “Poor kid. I really don’t know how we’re gonna get her back on her feet, seeing as we all used up the last of the medicine.”

“That gal’s a fighter, Dum Dum; you hear how she cussed out Monty when he tried takin’ her temperature this morning?” A smirk tugged at the corner of Jones’ lips as he shook his head and slung his rifle’s strap over his shoulder. “I think I’d rather try snatching a hungry bobcat’s dinner away than mess around with a sick Agent (Y/L/N).”

Before either of them could reply, the flap covering the entrance of the medical tent was thrown open and a worried-looking Bucky emerged with a bucket in his arms, making a bee-line towards the trio of men the moment he spotted them. “All right, the good news is that I think we’re close to breaking her fever and lowering her body temperature.”

While both Dugan and Jones breathed a sigh of relief, the expression on his best friend’s face made Steve frown and brusquely ask, “And the bad news?”

“She’s severely dehydrated and the lack of food’s startin’ to get to her; things are gonna go south real quick if we don’t get some food and water into her soon.” Bucky unceremoniously thrust the full bucket he’d been holding into Dugan’s arms, ignoring the older man’s cry of protest and Jones’ snickers. “Get this cleaned out and when you’re done, have Morita give you a hand with the laundry and be sure to start with (Y/N)’s clothes first. I’m gonna take a look at our K-rations and see if I can’t whip up somethin’ that’ll be easy on her stomach.”

When both Dugan and Jones looked over at Steve for his authorization, he gave them an approving nod and watched them both hurry away to carry out their orders. “What can I do, Buck?”

“Go and help Carter cool her down; I’ve got her placing wet cloths onto her wrists, ankles and forehead, the same as what your Ma and I did when you caught scarlet fever back in ’31, and see if you can’t get her to drink a little water while you’re at it.” Despite his visible concern for their codebreaker’s deteriorating health, a ghost of his trademark grin flashed across his face. “All I got for my efforts were some pretty un-ladylike threats about where she’d shove the water canteen I offered her, so maybe you’ll have some better luck.”

Steve, knowing full well that his best friend was harboring a small crush on the team’s quick-witted codebreaker but wanting to keep his secret, simply nodded and patted Bucky’s shoulder as he strode past him; when he reached the flap of the medical tent, he politely cleared his throat and waited for Peggy’s welcome before entering. (Y/N) was lying on the cot, dressed in a sweat-soaked white shirt and khaki trousers with wet cloths strategically placed along her overheated body, and Peggy was seated next to her with a troubled look on her face as she gently dabbed a damp rag along her best friend’s face. Judging by the pallor of her skin, the dark circles under her fluttering eyes and the erratic heartbeat that only a super-soldier could hear, it was easy for Steve to see why Peggy and Bucky were so worried for her.

“Oh no, not you too,” (Y/N) croaked out when she finally noticed Steve’s presence, weakly smiling as he took a seat on the other side of her cot. “I already told Peg and Bucky that I’m as fit as a fiddle.”

“And I already told you that you’re as stubborn as a mule.” Peggy’s words were playful, but the brief look she gave Steve conveyed the anxiety she was fighting to mask for the codebreaker’s benefit. “Perhaps Captain Rogers can convince you that your only job right now is to rest, not to waste energy arguing with me or threatening Sergeant Barnes with bodily harm.”

The codebreaker let out a frustrated groan. “But there’s still codes-”

“And you’ll be able to decode ‘em when you get better,” Steve interjected, his tone gentle but resolute. “You spent days nursing the rest of the team back to health, so now it’s your turn to let us take care of you.” He poured some canteen water into a tin cup and held it out for her to take. “So, could you do me a favor and do as Peggy says?”

After a long moment, (Y/N)’s jaw unclenched and she managed to muster up a faint chuckle before taking the cup from him. “I always said that ‘do as Peggy says’ should be the SSR’s official slogan…” She forced down the water and while Steve took the empty cup away, she gave Peggy a small apologetic smile. “I’m sorry that I’m being a pain in the ass, Peg. It’s just that I…I’m not used to being fussed over. I can’t…help but feel like a burden…”

The codebreaker’s eyelids drooped and her labored breathing subtly evened out as she lost consciousness, but her heartbreaking words hung heavy in the dead-silent medical tent. Although they’d only known one another for two months, Steve was well-aware of (Y/N)’s turbulent relationship with her family and the hardships she’d faced throughout her childhood; it saddened him to know that such a kind and compassionate woman was deprived of the sort of loving home that he and Bucky were lucky to have grown up in, and it made it all the more unfair that she was suffering after tirelessly caring for her teammates in their time of need.

A quiet sniffle caused Steve to look up from (Y/N)’s clammy face, and he felt a pang in his chest when he caught sight of Peggy wiping a tear off her cheek; when the agent’s reddened eyes met his, she gave him a saddened smile and quietly spoke. “From the moment we first met, (Y/N)’s been like a sister to me and since my brother Michael’s death, I can’t…I’d rather not imagine living in a world without her.”

Steve returned her smile with one of his own before reaching over the cot and tentatively resting his hand atop hers. “(Y/N)’s a fighter, Peggy. She’s gonna pull through this, and it’ll be because she’s got all of us here to help her out.” Peggy’s expression softened and Steve felt his face warm when she set the damp rag down and gave his hand a grateful squeeze. In an instant, it dawned on him that they hadn’t been alone with one another since their disastrous confrontation back at the SSR’s headquarters after his and Private Lorraine’s kiss; he awkwardly cleared his throat and slipped his hand out from under Peggy’s, picking up the rag and dabbing it into the bowl of water perched on a nearby crate as he attempted to keep his emotions in check. “I’m, um…I guess I’m not really used to being on this side of an illness,” He remarked, wringing the rag out and carefully placing it across (Y/N)’s heated forehead. “It’s a strange perspective, being the caregiver instead of the patient; I’m usually the one lying in bed with a hundred and two degree fever.”

“Doctor Erskine mentioned that your medical history was rather extensive…” Peggy stood and leaned over to adjust the codebreaker’s makeshift pillow, and her sympathetic eyes met his when he moved to help her. “I can’t begin to imagine how challenging your life was before Project Rebirth.”

Returning to his seat, Steve removed the cloth encircling (Y/N)’s wrist and wetted it with fresh water, his gaze fixed onto his task as the memories of his childhood in Brooklyn and the hazy memories of each of his life-threatening illnesses invaded his mind. “My ma – she was a nurse, you see – she always told me that God blessed her with a baby he knew she’d have no trouble raising on her own. He sure as hell didn’t hold back his punches, either; before high school, I was diagnosed with asthma, scoliosis, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, astigmatism, pernicious anemia, stomach ulcers, sinusitis, fallen arches, and I had a couple of bouts of colds, rheumatic fever and scarlet fever. But none of that ever stopped her…” His eyes stung with the urge to cry but he forced himself to remain composed as he continued. “She told me that nothing in heaven or hell could stop her from taking care of me.”

“Your mother sounds like a strong-willed woman. Is she…?” Sensing her hesitancy, Steve shook his head and out of the corner of his eye, he saw her purse her lips and fiddle with the end of her braided hair before continuing. “She'd be very proud of the man you’ve become.”

He swallowed the lump in his throat and chuckled to disguise the unexpected emotion the agent’s thoughtful words brought on. “I’m still just that skinny kid from Brooklyn, now just with a serum that gives you muscles and an iron-clad immune system.”

“You’re more than the serum.” Peggy’s gentle and affirming tone caused Steve to look up and meet her sparkling brown eyes. “The serum would be nothing without the good, kind-hearted man it empowers,” She reached across the cot to rest her hand atop his, causing Steve’s heart to race and a blush to color his cheeks. “You’re my hero, Steve.”

There was a sudden and palpable shift in the air as Steve studied the agent’s eyes and took in her words. Although he’d undergone an incredible physical transformation that saw him go from sickly to the epitome of strength, the way Peggy looked at him never changed; it was clear as day that she meant exactly what she’d said – after all, Peggy Carter was hardly one for mincing words and had no issue speaking her mind in any given situation – and that realization only made Steve’s admiration and unspoken attraction to her grow. With a soft smile, Steve twisted his hand around to intertwine their fingers and shyly replied, “You’re my hero, too.”

Peggy’s smile grew but before either of them could say or do anything further, Bucky and Dugan burst into the medical tent; they both quickly withdrew their hands from one another before either man took note of their intimate moment, and Steve hastily averted his gaze from the equally-flustered agent seated across from him. “How’s the patient doing?” Bucky asked, oblivious to the conversation he’d walked in on as he set a bowl of broth down onto the nearest crate and moved to replace the cloth on (Y/N)’s forehead with the back of his hand; after a moment, the look of concern written across his face softened and he breathed out a relieved sigh. “Her fever finally broke; she should be okay after we get her to eat and drink a little.”

“Oh, thank heavens,” Peggy beamed and a reassured Dugan ruffled her hair before ducking out of the medical tent to inform their teammates of the good news. “Ste-Captain Rogers was able to convince her to drink a little water after you left.”

“And Peg-Agent Carter managed to cool her down with the wet cloths,” Steve added, awkwardly clearing his throat when his best friend glanced over his shoulder and arched a curious brow at him. “So, um, you made soup?”

Bucky chuckled. “Well, my ma sure as hell wouldn’t call it that, but a bouillon cube mixed into boiling water’ll just have to do.” With the gentleness of a well-seasoned caregiver, he nudged (Y/N)’s shoulder and smiled when her eyes finally fluttered open. “Hey there, doll. I know you’re tired, but I’ve got some food here for you; it ain’t easy makin’ these K-rations taste edible, but I worked a little magic just for you.”

Groaning, (Y/N) allowed Bucky to help her sit up and Steve, not wanting to be in their way, stood and gave Peggy a small smile as he made his way to the tent’s flap. “I, um…I should go and check in with the others. Would you tell (Y/N) that I hope she feels better soon and that she’s to continue following your orders until she does?”

“Of course. And Steve?” He turned around in time to catch the tender look etched across Peggy’s beautiful features, illuminated by a smile that caused his stomach to lurch in a not-so-unpleasant way. “Thank you, for opening up to me.”

Steve nodded once and returned her smile with one of his own. “And thank you, Peg.”

Arching a quizzical brow, the agent quietly asked, “What for?”

“For listening.”

And as Steve turned and walked out of the medical tent, all he could think of was the way Peggy had looked at him and how happy he was that they’d seemingly moved on from their turbulent encounter back at headquarters. When the war’s over, I’m gonna buy (Y/N) (Y/L/N) every single Andrews Sisters record and box of herbal teabags I can get my hands on, Steve silently vowed as his smile grew into a full-blown grin.

1914 Freedom's Five (Limited series)

Victorex Prime or the Scarlet Centurion (a Kang variant) is bored of life in the 40th century, having conquered everything there is to conquer. He has now resorted to conquering various eras of the past to alleviate the boredom. He has been trying to conquer earth during the chaos of WWI, identified as a good point in earth's history. Suitably advanced, but no notable superheroes. He has future tech and future fighters and they are mistaken for ‘martians’ by the public.

The Time Variance Authority aren't pruning regularly yet as this is still the time war, though He Who Remains (not named in the show) has worked out the technology. They have to stop the Scarlet Centurion to finally bring about the sacred timeline. They've stopped him twice and he escaped both times. They know if he continues to mess with this timeline then time eaters (demons from outside of time) will eventually consume it anyway. We will see this take effect in Legion later on.

Revonna Renslayer, a time judge, wants to use the new technology to prune the timeline, Kang variant and all. Mobius wants to try something different to see if the timeline can be saved. 

He tips off an obscure superhero team of the period and they take out a ‘martian’ tripod by themselves, proving to Renslayer that there is a possibility to save this timeline. 

Our heroes have to fight alongside the TVA against the invasion whilst simultaneously staving off being pruned by the same group.

The team are called ‘Freedom's Five’ (cringe) and consist of:

The Crimson Cavalier - Jean-Luc Batroc, an antecedent of Batroc the Leaper from CA:TWS. Equally adept at savate, swordsmanship and proto-parkour athleticism (studied under Georges Hérbert at Reims University in France). He was a criminal in peace time but fights for the freedom of France. (Played by David Belle).

Iron Fist - The Orson Randall version. Orson abandoned his post as protector of  the heavenly city of K'un Lun (luckily they replaced him before the city was attacked). Born in K'un Lun to an American father, he is headstrong and brash but also brave and protective of his comrades. He channels the mystical power from his fists into dual-wield pistols, extending the range and accuracy of his power as well as being an expert martial artist. He replaced the Silver Squire in the Squad. (Played by Brandon Lee).

Phantom Eagle - Karl Kaufmann. American born German who fights for the allies. The aceiest of flying aces and skilled at hand to hand combat too. (Played by Dolph Lundgren)

Sir Steel - Ned Chapel, a Yorkshire blacksmith, worked on the Armatage Estate and was bequeathed the enchanted armour Sir Steel. He is a master swordsman and has near invulnerability from his enchanted armour. His sidekick the Silver Squire is currently injured and therefore absent from the team. (Played by Sean Bean)

Union Jack - A young Lord James Montgomery Falsworth. Studied at Reims with Jean-Luc. Equally adept at the proto-parkour style of athleticism. Dead shot with a pistol and skilled at hand to hand combat. Sometimes converses in French with Jean-Luc. (Played by JJ Feild. Though I'm tempted to replace him with an age appropriate Nigel Havers).

Idk who needs to hear this but Mcu buckys backstory is NOT based off of arnie roth. His backstory is based off his ultimate universe counterpart. A lot of the mcu is based of the ultimates: sam being military whil 616sam being a social worker, clint with laura barton and their 3 kid and is a shield operative while 616clint married bobbi morse and has no kid and never worked for shield, samuel l. jackson Nicky fury, etc. Ultimate universe bucky is steves childhood friend.

And secondly 616 bucky is caps kid sidekick, the mcu just didn't want to put a child soldier in their all American propaganda movie hence why rebel wasn't part of the howling commandos in the mcu either because he was a kid. As u can see in this tweet they changed it for that reason.

Thirdly even if he was based off of arnie, removing a gay character doesn't automatically make a different character gay. although i would love if bucky was canon queer but that's just not how it works.

Also what I realize about these bucky is arnie roth truthers is that a lot of u don't care about arnie or the fact he was erased from the mcu u guys just want "proof" for your headcanon/ship. Which there's no problem with having headcanons, if u hc bucky as gay and/or jewish that perfectly fine and valid but then ppl spread false info that he's suppose to be that when it's simply just not true. I don't ever see ppl bring up arnie unless it about bucky. Also steve and arnies dynamic itself never came off as anything other than friends or brothers

I don't ever see these bucky is arnie roth truthers ever talk about how thor:ragnarok replaced thors and lokis actual long lost older sister, angela, who is a canon lesbian and is dating a transwoman, with lokis daughter, hela, who has only shown attraction towards men in canon.(hela is currently married to a woman but they married out of business not out of love and it happened after the movie came out)

nor do I see them talk about in ca:tfa other than arnie roth there was also brian falsworth. In ca:tfa u can see James Montgomery falsworth, more commonly known as union jack, in the mcu he's part of the howling commandos. The thing is he's the union jack of ww1 while his son and daughter fights alongside captain America in ww2. His son Brian falsworth has been canonically gay since 2002 and was dating roger aubrey, destroyer, until he died. There's no reason why his dad was deaged and was part of the howling commandos instead of him for the reason other than he was gay because Brian shows up more in comics than his dad, u can't know about Monty falsworth without knowing about Brian

I feel like y'all don't actually care when an actual gay character gets replaced but instead make up lies about characters that u want to be gay instead. Like when eternals came out and phastos and his husband where said to be the first gay characters in the mcu and instead of complaining about loki, valkyrie, starlord, ayo, korg. Who were(at least at the time) not confirmed canon queer in the mcu despite being so in the comics, u guys complained about steve/bucky not being canon queer despite neither ever canonically showing interest in the same gender in mcu or comics because u mixed up canon and fanon/your headcanon.

Again headcanoning bucky and gay and/or jewish and shipping mcu stucky is completely fine, there's nothing wrong with it but bucky being based on arnie roth is just simply not true.

i'm ready to answer! (!!!!!!!!) thank you for your patience, beloved, and for the fun ask :)

so, firstly, a little fun fact about me is i have a weird fascination with one james montgomery falsworth, and he is my specialist blorbo amongst the group. i just love his little beret and his accent and all of his like, three lines, and i think he shoots a gun most wonderfully. basically, i love him

i adore them all, and always gladly suck up any content i can find—just the big group of them, all brothers goofing around and set against the backdrop of the war…finding the joyful moments in between the awful. dum dum the joker, the big brother, dernier the crazy reckless idiot, morita’s dry sarcasm, jones' calm capability, and falsworth's breathing 😉. what a lovely collection of found family, and coupled with bucky, whom they've all adopted, and eventually steve too--sheer poetry in motion. :D

“God fucking hell, your country really is shit,” Barnes says to no one in particular, but there’s only one of them who’s currently a native, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure who.

Monty rolls his eyes and calls across to the other tree, “I’m sure the forests of wonderful America are never rainy and cold.”

“Do I look like I frequent forests?” Barnes says, voice muffled, like he’s covering his face up with his hands. Dum Dum tried that yesterday; it doesn’t do much in the way of warmth, and there’s only so long you can go with the smell of whatever garbage is left on your hands. Not worth it.

“Don’t get me started on what you look like,” comes Rogers’ voice, harder to hear because it’s so deep.

Dernier, who’s crouched under Dum Dum’s right leg, or so it seems, nudges him excitedly. Dum Dum shrugs and leans closer; if they’re squatting in a forest in a rainstorm, they might as well listen in on the two lovebirds.

“I’m not the one with that broomstick nailed to their face,” Barnes snarks.

“Hey, this broomstick is your own creation, asshole.”

“Like I’m the one who insisted on bashing it into every little thing that pissed you off? Nice try, shvantz, that beak would only look even worse without my help.”

Jones sighs from somewhere to Dum Dum’s left.

Theo and Chris are brothers. Their the great grandsons of James Montgomery Falsworth one of the howling commando, who fought alongside Steve Rogers and Bucky Branes.

Jake is the great grandson of Jacques Dernier, who was also part of the howling commando. He was named after him.

Steve is a attampted clone of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. He was created in secret by a corrupt SHIELD scientist and his team. He is the result of an attempt to recreate the DNA of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, which they wanted to use to create an army of Super Soldiers. He was named after Steve and Bucky by the scientist just like the other attempts who didn't survived. When SHIELD found out about this experiment they ended this immediately by shutting down the lab and imprisoned those responsible. They took Steven to the SHIELD HQ, where he was eventually adopted by Maria Hill. Because the scientist didn't used the real DNA of Steve and Bucky but one that was created by himself he's not an exact clone of both of them and doesn't really shares the same DNA as them. He was about 10 when he was adopted by Maria. Later he became a trainee for SHIELD before he joined the young Howling Commando to keep an eye on the other kids.

Chris and Steve are best friends. Through Steve him and his brother Theo joined the team too.

Thalia and Carly are also best friends and classmates of Steve and Chris. They joined the team after Chris and his brother and were invited by Steve and Chris.

Side Info: The idea of Steve being a clone is from zimnyayavdova. At first I planed to make him just some guy who happened to be part of the team and who was a trainee from SHIELD. But then she pointed out that he kinda looks like the clone of Steve and Bucky and that he could have been adopted by Maria Hill so I just adopted this idea and added some extra infos. Which is pretty good because so I could name him Steve too just like the character the actor played in Stranger Things. When I was looking for names, I couldn't see him with any other name than Steve. But then again I didn't wanted him to be a complete clone of them so I came up with the idea that a crazy scientist wanted to clone Steve and Bucky but didn't had their complete DNA so he tried to creat it by himself and therefore changed the DNA. That's why despite being a clone of them he doesn't completley shares the same DNA but only a part of it. So basically, if a DNA test were done, there would be some matches like it would be with close relatives like an uncle etc.

Run, Chapter 4

I apologize for the lack of an update I've been traveling and dealing with the worst case of burnout I've ever had.

After you’ve finished your coffee you wash your coffee cup before searching through the cabinets to figure out where it goes, it’s also a great excuse for getting to know the kitchen. Afterward you decide to explore the clubhouse a bit since it wasn’t as crowded as last night. You pause for a moment by the bar stools facing one of the doorways, am I even allowed to look around? No one said I couldn’t but they also didn’t say I could. You decide to push your anxiety down since no one has been mean to you here. 

You go back into the room that everyone was hanging out in last night where the entrance is. When you look to the right there are two couches next to each other in a line with TVs mounted on the wall in front of them. As you scan to the left of the room you see four couches facing one another along with a few miscellaneous chairs. As you go left and walk past the four couches you see a bar that’s built into the wall that extends into another room. Next to the bar are two pool tables and mounted on the left wall are two dart boards. Next to the far side of the bar tucked into the corner is a wall of photos.

The first one you see is a group photo mostly consisting of the group you’ve met standing outside the clubhouse with grins so big they’re contagious and you can’t keep yours in. You see one of Nastasha and Clint is some kind of military gear, similar ones of Sam, Bucky, and Steve. You see some younger photos of Steve and Bucky back when they were kids and Steve was a lot smaller. 

At the center of all the different photos is a plaque that says, ‘remembering those we’ve lost’. You see a photo of someone who you assume is Tony’s dad since he’s a dead ring for him, with the name ‘Howard Stark’ under it. Next is Steve and Bucky in military uniforms in a large group, with the names, ‘Dum Dum Dugan’, ‘Gabe Jones’, ‘Jim Morita’, ‘James Montgomery Falsworth’, and ‘Jacques Dernier’. Your heart sinks when you count the number of people in the photo, Steve and Bucky are the only ones left. One of the other photos is of a family with a little red haired girl and your chest tightens, is that Natasha or Wanda? What could’ve possibly happened. You didn’t get the chance to read the names under the photo before someone startled you. 

“They were killed by a gang when I was 10. That's the only family photo I have, Tony has made me a couple of copies of it.” Wanda says with an odd sort of acceptance and sadness. You’re a bit panicked, “I’m sorry. I wasn’t snooping, I was just taking a look around sorry- '' Wanda stops you by gently placing a hand on your shoulder, “It’s okay you're allowed to look around especially if you are gonna be staying here. You’ve done nothing wrong alright?” You take a deep breath, no one has been mean to you here. You nod, “Alright we're ready for you in the meeting they’re just about to let everyone else out. 

Right on queue you hear the thudding of boots walking through the kitchen a moment before a large group of bikers roll out. One of which has a bloody nose with two guys on either side of him, he glares at you like he wants to kill you. You can’t hold in the shiver that runs up your spine in fear. Wanda grabs your hand and pulls you toward the group into the kitchen and down the hall toward Banner’s office before stopping outside a set of double doors you hadn’t been through. 

You walk into a room with a large table with chairs. At the head of the table is Steve with Bucky standing to his right and Sam on his left. On the right side of the table is Tony next to him is an older military looking man you haven’t met before, next is a giant long haired blonde with braids who gives you a smile and a wave, golden retriever. Next is a thin man with black hair who looks unimpressed to be here. Then there is the too young looking Peter who is talking and working with a guy next to him who you also haven’t met, they are too consumed in what they are working on to notice you. 

On the left side of the is Bruce sitting next to Clint, then Natasha who waves you over and you are quickly pulled toward her by Wanda causing you to laugh a little. Wanda pulls out your chair and taps on the back until you sit down so she can push you in and then sits next to you. Natasha laughs at Wanda’s antics from next to you. 

Steve clears his throat and you, Wanda, and Natasha stop giggling. Natasha places her hand on your leg and gives you a gentle squeeze before placing her hands on the table. 

“We are gonna ask some questions,” Steve looks you in the eyes looking regretful, “I understand you’re not going to want to answer all of them and that’s okay,” He gives you a reassuring look, “you can be as vague as you want.” He gives you a nod before continuing, “Let me introduce you to everyone you haven’t met. Next to Tony is his military buddy Rhodey. Next are the Norse brothers Thor than Loki. Lastly at the end next to Peter is Torrez. Steve finishes and you get a nod from everyone but Loki who still looks bored.

You readjust in your chair and put one of your hands on the table, taking a deep breath and slipping your mask into place and staring at your hand on the table. “What do you want to know?” You say in a neutral tone. 

“How’d you get involved with Hydra?” Rhodey asks.

You begin tapping your finger on the table, “A guy I had gone out with a few times is a member. I didn’t know.” You say in a detached tone. You remember that stupid smile, you weren’t even interested but you didn’t think a drink would hurt,

Your pulled out of your spiral by the next question.

“You were seeing this guy but knew nothing about him?” Tony asks judgmentally

Prick, you think while sending him a look. You close your eyes and look back at your tapping finger. “We went out for drinks twice. The guy was a,” The memories invade your mind,

his hands on your thighs and the smell of him. 

You close your eyes and clench your jaw before gently shaking your head, “the guy was a creep. I wouldn’t have given him a second chance if a girl at the bar hadn’t told me to give him one.” You end by giving him a snarky smile before looking at your finger again.

“How’d you get hurt?” Wanda softly asks.

You don’t even look at her but look straight at Steve, “Is it important?” You ask as your foot begins to tap. 

“You can be as vague as you want, we just want an idea.” Steve says gently. 

You shift in your seat and stare back at your finger tapping, “The guy I went out with,” you stretch your neck, “and one of his friends attacked me when I was trying to leave.” You try to keep the memories from flooding you, but the smell, 

burning flesh

Your hand reaches and you start to lightly scratch at the burn, brand. 

“So why is Hydra chasing after a random girl?” Loki asks in a coy tone with an accent you can’t place.

Your tapping speeds up, “He was a creep. I found out he might be suspected of a few crimes. On top of a few people who warned me about him in town. I ghosted him and decided to leave town,” You gesture toward your face with your hand that was tapping, “you can tell how that turned out.” You clear your throat and go back to tapping and begin scratching harder.

Your arm is pulled away from your burn, “Breath” Natasha says while taking an exaggerated breath. You can feel your lungs burning and your face is wet. You feel someone touch your shoulder from behind and jump. 

Wanda pulls her hand back like she’s been burned, “I’m sorry.” 

You shoot up out of your chair, this is too much, “Sorry I need some air” You practically run out of the meeting room. Toward Banner’s office and out the door that says exit. As soon as you're out the door you throw up, there’s nothing in your stomach so it’s just acid and dry heaving. You feel the sweat collecting on your forehead before a cool hand is placed on the back of your neck. You flinch and try to move away before a warm hand grabs your arm. 

“It’s just me, it’s just Bucky, just get it out.” You stop trying to move and he moves his warmer hand to your hair moving it away from your face. You dry heave a few more times before your stomach settles and you stand on shaky legs, shortly after a water bottle is thrust toward you by a pissed redhead. You open the already cracked water looking at it suspiciously before looking at Natasha then deciding to drink. She steps closer with Bucky still by your side. 

“What aren’t you telling us?” Natasha demands.

“It-it’s just hard to talk about, it’s hard to remember.” You whimper out. Natasha sighs before pulling you into a hug and you can’t hide your surprise.You hold back your tears the best you can and then you feel Bucky’s hand on your back.

“You're safe here.” Those words spoken with so much sincerity made you crumble. You bury your head in Natasha’s neck and squeeze her as tight as you can, fuck it I trust these people, I have to trust these people. They stay there with you for a few minutes till you can compose yourself.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to lose it. I haven’t been hugged in years.” You say while wiping your face with your sweatshirt.

Natasha and Bucky share a look, “You’ve been through a lot. I'm surprised you haven’t cried yet. You didn’t even tear up when Bruce was treating you.” Natasha says laughing a little bit, and you join in giving a small giggle. 

“Alright I think I’m good to go back.” You say turning back to the door and Natasha loops her arm through yours and heads back inside and into the meeting. No one says anything about you leaving earlier. 

Bucky stands behind you instead of next to Steve. Steve gives him a small smile and a nod which he repeats. 

Wanda slides a cookie to you and it makes you small although she looks regretful. When she goes to talk, you quickly respond, “Thank you for the cookie.” You tell her while giving her a reassuring smile. She gets the message and relaxes back into her chair. 

You look toward Steve who is already looking at you with relief and gives you a nod, “Let’s continue.” Steve says, look toward everyone. 

“We looked into you,” Peter says, grabbing your attention, “you had only been in that town about a month, which,” He glances back at his computer, “is the longest you’ve stayed somewhere in the ten months.” He looks at you but there wasn’t a question, you tilt your head at him a bit confused. You see the realization wash over him. “Oh sorry. Why were you moving around so much and what made you settle there?” He gives you a curious look. 

Oh well this is a bit embarrassing, “Well my ex was not a nice guy. A year ago he got sent out on some military operation, told me he’d be gone for two months and I took the opportunity to run. But,” You were a bit reluctant to share the rest, you are so weak,trust them, “Him and his friend kept finding me so I kept moving. When they hadn’t contacted me for a few months I stayed where I was.” You finished with an awkward smile and a shrug of your shoulders. 

“So you’ve always attracted bad men.” Tony says with a cocky smirk which he loses when Steve and Rhodey smack his head. 

You let out a giggle and give him the middle finger which he smiles at while rubbing the back of his head. You can know he’s trying to lighten the mood. 

“Is he a problem?” Steve asks with an edge to his voice you haven’t heard.

You shrug your shoulders. He hasn’t bothered you in months so you doubt he’s still looking for you. “I don’t think so, like I said I haven't heard from in a few months. I don’t think he’s looking for me.” 

“How did you know when he had found you?” Torrez asks from behind the computer. 

“Sometimes I’d see his military buddy around. Other times I’d get pictures of me around town.” You finish with a heavy sigh, this is getting tiring. You stretched your neck hoping to relieve some of the tension building on your shoulders. 

As if Steve could read your mind, “Alright,” he glances at everyone at the table, “are we on the same page? She’ll be staying? And you’ve verified everything we need to know?” Steve asks, looking toward Peter and Torrez. They just give him a thumbs up in response and go back to the computer. 

“Did you run a background check?” you teased

Steve looks slightly panicked before Peter cuts in without noticing, “Sort of but we don’t care about where you went to school more so just to make sure you're not a suit or undercover.” He immediately goes back to working on something with Torrez. Tony is grinning at Peter like a proud Father and Steve rubs his face before looking toward you.

“I’d expect nothing less.” you added.

“Alright that’s all for today. Let's get some food.” Steve says

So I created an OC who spoke to Sharon (in her head) during her "regulation" of Extremis in The Phoenix Protocol and after some discussion and prompting in one of my discord servers, came up with the rest of the group.

Boss, there appears to be an unregistered guest in the Penthouse.

"Oh, does there?" Tony asked with an annoyed frown. "How the hell did Romanoff break in? She's bio-metrically locked out!" He sighed and glanced at Sharon. "Ready to face the music?"

"We might as well," she said. "It's not as if I can just stay shut away here forever."

They went up to the Penthouse, Tony forming a gauntlet and Sharon pulling a knife (How the hell did she get a knife? Tony wondered.) from somewhere on her person.

When they arrived, it wasn't Natasha - or any of the others - waiting for them at all.

"So, Share-Bear, how's life treating you as someone formerly on the run for committing treason? And by the way, Stark, that was a brilliant defense you argued. I almost shed a tear."

Bartholomew "Barty" Dugan was lounging on one of Tony's sofas, one long leg crossed over the other as if he were the one who owned the Tower. He wore his usual smirk and oh, she wanted to smack it off of his face. He had a smack-able face. He himself owned up to that fact.

Sharon rolled her eyes but Tony immediately switched from looking angry at the intrusion to looking delighted.

"Listen, Mr. Break-and-Enter, I'm going to ignore for a minute that you somehow found a way to bypass all of my security for the time being, because I have something much more pressing to ask." He retracted the gauntlet and turned to Sharon. "Share-Bear? That's your nickname?"

"No," she said firmly just as Barty said "Yes! Yes, it is and she loves it."

"Barty, I hate you," she said to him with a glare.

"She doesn't," Barty assured Tony, standing up and wrapping an arm around Sharon's shoulders. "She adores me, I promise you."

"Stark, listen to me. Do not call me that. Ever." She shrugged Barty's arm off. "What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be skulking around the Louvre or Tate Modern?"

"What? I can't visit one of my oldest friends after learning she'd been held captive by aliens?" Barty asked. His expression softened. "The others are worried sick and I'm currently the closest one here without a traditional 9-5ish type job. It's not like Kai can leave the students or Bailey leave the number-crunching to her colleagues."

"And just what is it you do, Mr. Barty, it it?" Tony asked.

"Oh, this and that," he said airily.

"And how exactly did you crack my security?" Tony asked. "I'm impressed."

Sharon snorted out a laugh. "Tony, meet Barty Dugan. When comes to bypassing security, he can run circles around Natasha Romanoff."

"It's a gift," Barty said modestly. "But seriously, Sharon, how are you?"

"Physically, never better," she answered. "All the rest? To be determined."

"And do you have anything to do with that?" Barty asked Stark.

"Which part?" Tony asked back with all the maturity of a toddler.

"Barty, he saved my life. Stand down, Iisus Hristos."

"Ah, now that was Share-Bear here swearing in another language, which is a great way to tell how annoyed she is," Barty explained to Tony, eyes glittering with mischief. "Latvian?" he asked Sharon.

"Romanian," she ground out.

"You should hear her go off in French; it's beautiful."

Tony wasn't sure what to make of the man. It was clear even through his teasing that he cared about Sharon deeply and given that Sharon hadn't stabbed him, she obviously felt the same. He'd have to have FRIDAY run a check on him. And see if he could figure out who "the others" were, given that he had two other names: Kai and Bailey, along with a general idea of their professions.

"I need to get back down to my labs before Dum-E decides to do some spring cleaning with acetone. Are you good up here?" he asked Sharon.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Barty won't hurt me; he knows I'll kick his ass up and down this room."

"From painful experience," Barty added with a sheepish grin.

"You had it coming," Sharon said.

"True," he admitted. "Then again, so did Martin and Kai, though I think Kai eventually grew out of it. Bailey and Tripp always seemed to know better."

"Go on, Tony," Sharon encouraged. "If I feel like I'm about to explode I'll let you know."

TIMELINE OF EVENTS : BUCKY BARNES .

a comprehensive and semi-complete timeline for my mixed media/headcanon-based portrayal of bucky. i have taken mcu events, comic storylines, and my own personal headcanons to create a blend that does not fully coincide with either the film adaptations or the comics.

this post is your guide to my canon for bucky and i recommend reading it prior to or during plotting — or i can totally give you a rundown of divergences from canon and important headcanon-based pieces of my portrayal.

DISCLAIMER : events may shift from verse to verse or possibly not happen altogether, based on the nature of plotting.

1917

March 10 — James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes is born in Shelbyville, Indiana to George and Winifred Barnes.

1920 - 1929

1920 — Rebecca Barnes is born. 1924 — The Barneses move from Shelbyville to Brooklyn, New York. 1925 — Violet Barnes is born. 1926 — Bucky meets Steve Rogers. 1929 — Theodore “Teddy” Barnes is born.

1930 - 1939

1936 — Sarah Rogers passes away. 1937 - 1938 — Bucky attends art classes with Steve. (Bucky is not good at art.)

1940 - 1949

December 7, 1941 — The Attack on Pearl Harbor ; the United States enters the Second World War. December 1941 - January 1942 —  Bucky is drafted into the Second World War ; Bucky trains Steve at Goldie’s Boxing Gym before Bucky goes to an enlistment office with Steve ; Steve is rejected. January 1942 - April 1943 — Bucky trains at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin (with periodical leaves back to New York) with the rest of the 107th Infantry, where he meets and befriends both Gabe Jones and "Dum Dum" Dugan ; Bucky is promoted to the rank of sergeant. June 14, 1943 — Flag Day ; Bucky’s last night before his shipment out to England. August 1943 — the “Captain America” comics debut to the public, to great success! September 1943 — The Battle of Azzano ; survivors of the 107th Infantry are captured by Hydra and taken to a weapons facility in the Austrian Alps. October 1943 — Bucky meets James Montgomery Falsworth and Jacques Dernier, both fellow POWs ; Bucky becomes ill and is beaten by Hydra Colonel Lohmer for his inability to perform manual labor ; the future Howling Commandos band together to orchestrate an accident that kills Lohmer ; Bucky, ill and weak, is taken to Arnim Zola to be used for experimentation. November 1943 — Bucky and the other POWs held by Hydra are rescued by Steve, now Captain America. November 1943 — The Howling Commandos are formed : Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Gabriel “Gabe” Jones, Timothy Aloysius Cadwallader “Dum Dum” Dugan, James Montgomery “Monty” Falsworth, James “Jim” Morita , Jacques “Frenchie” Dernier. 1944 — the Howling Commandos travel across the European theater, performing raids on Hydra bases, weakening their forces. January 1944 — a new character is introduced in the thrilling “Captain America” comic series: his right-hand and sidekick, Bucky Barnes, a boy wonder! ; overseas, Bucky endures weeks of mockery after being turned into a kid sidekick in these comic books. February 2, 1945 — during a mission on a train in the Swiss Alps, Bucky unfortunately falls from the train into the Danube river and is presumed dead ; Zola’s experimenting on Bucky over a year earlier is the reason for his survival ; Soviet soldiers find Bucky still alive, taking him as a P.O.W. February 5, 1945 — the Barnes family is informed that Bucky has been declared missing in action as no body was recovered, but it is the opinion of many involved that Bucky was rather killed in action ; the Barneses spend the next few years holding out hope he isn't dead. 1945 - 1949 — upon medical examination of Bucky, the Soviets observe his enhanced physiology while blood tests confirm traces of a type of super-soldier serum, though difficult to synthesize more of ; the Winter Soldier Program (then unnamed) is subsequently born with Bucky as the only current subject ; with state of the art technology (and cybernetic schematics recovered by a Soviet spy) he is given his first bionic prosthetic as the next steps of the program are planned ; they begin the process of testing human cryostasis and brainwashing and assign the most skilled Soviet fighters to adequately train and condition the subject ; stolen technology from the supposedly-fallen HYDRA is used to construct an early version of the Memory Suppressing Machine, a device that utilizes electroconvulsive therapy to inflict damage to the brain with an emphasis on the limbic system ; Bucky's memories begin to fade. December 10, 1949 — nearly five years after Bucky's death or disappearance, George and Winifred Barnes decide to finally hold a funeral for their son ; an empty coffin is buried and the headstone lists his date of death as February 2, 1945.

1950 - 1959

1950 - 1954 — as his conditioning is continued, Bucky is periodically sent into the field with handlers in order to ensure his efficacy ; he is proving useful and is in the first steps to infamy ; cryostasis has proven successful in the last decade, therefore Bucky has barely aged within this time. 1951 — The Winter Soldier is sent to Goyang, South Korea to aid Soviet forces, where he encounters Isaiah Bradley, a Black American super-soldier who was privately experimented in a successor to Project Rebirth ; unable to kill Bradley, this altercation costs Bucky this early version of his bionic prosthetic and he is removed from the field. 1954 — after the KGB is formed, the organization formally joins the Winter Soldier Project and introduces conditioning methods, primarily accelerating physical combat training ; the use of trigger words are employed for efficiency in Bucky's brainwashing, which prove to work well with improvements made to the Memory Suppressing Machine. September 19, 1954 — George Barnes passes away at the age of 68 ; he's survived by his wife and three children. 1955 - 1959 — Bucky is continued to be trained, indoctrinated, and tortured while the results are tested with field missions ; the title of “The Winter Soldier” is officially given to him by the KGB (the program being retroactively named as such as well) ; he is now considered “the perfect soldier” and is officially an assassin for Soviet use ; his very existence would come to be doubted by even the highest of government agents.

1960 - 1989

years unknown — the Soviets take The Winter Soldier out of cryostasis suspended animation in order to use him to aid in training girls of the Red Room Academy ; The Winter Soldier meets and trains with Natalia Romanova, later known as Natasha Romanova ; they work together on many missions for the Soviet Union during The Cold War.*

*NOTE :  Due to my use of MCU inspiration, including Bucky's brainwashing, any romantic or sexual relationship between Bucky and Natasha is not my default canon, despite my inclusion of comic story, but it can be acknowledged with extensive plotting. The nature of Bucky's brainwashing generally implies a lack of autonomy, therefore prior plotting will be required before any plots involving Bucky and Natasha's relationship with each other from the comics.

April 21, 1967 — Winifred Barnes passes away at the age of 77 ; she is survived by her three children. 1986 — a Soviet scientist removes Bucky from cryostasis without authorization ; the scientist tells Bucky he is going to help him get home to America ; confused, fearful, and conflicted from his mental conditioning, Bucky kills the scientist ; he is found with the man’s body and is immediately put back into cryostasis.

1990 - 1999

December 16, 1991 — The Winter Soldier is sent to assassinate Howard and Maria Stark in order to obtain Howard Stark’s super soldier serum ; he is successful. December 1991 — in a last-ditch attempt to preserve The Winter Soldier Program in the last days of the Soviet Union, this serum is used on five former-KGB operatives in an attempt to turn them into super soldiers not unlike Bucky ; this is known internally as Zephyr ; the operatives are defective however and kept in cryostasis, indefinitely ; Bucky remains the only successful subject of The Winter Soldier Program ; with the Soviet Union dissolved, The Winter Soldier Program is abandoned and Bucky is left in a Soviet base in cryostasis, forgotten. 1994 — former member of the KGB Aleksander Lukin, who inherited The Winter Soldier Program from Vasily Karpov before the fall of the Soviet Union, reactivates The Winter Soldier for personal use as he begins to build his business, The Kronas Corporation. 

2000 - 2009

spanning the decade — Bucky is used by Lukin in order to kill political and corporate officials, intimidate various people, and overall aid in the growth of The Kronas Corporation, which has been steadily growing within the United States and across the world, working under the table.

2010 - ?

2012 — The Winter Soldier is sent to Sokovia by Hydra to assassinate a high-ranking political official ; he successfully does so with a timed detonation – there are many casualties ; EKO Scorpion, of the Sokovian Armed Forces, being posted at the site for security of sorts, is sent to either apprehend or kill The Winter Soldier before he escapes ; Colonel Helmut Zemo is among the agents sent ; The Winter Soldier kills most of EKO Scorpion, save for Zemo and one other member. 2014 — The Winter Soldier resurfaces and sent to assassinate Steve Rogers, as Lukin and his allies see him as a threat ; Bucky is unsuccessful when Steve instead recognizes him, this recognition tampering with the programming put in Bucky’s mind decades before ; unbeknownst to anyone else, Helmut Zemo learns of The Winter Soldier’s return and independently discovers the identity of The Winter Soldier, a truth he shares with the public ; exposed, a wanted criminal, and his mind broken, Bucky fails a second time to assassinate Steve due to inaction ; at the last second, Bucky saves Steve's life from drowning ; he begins a life on the run. 2014 - 2016 — Bucky, now free from Lukin, successfully leaves the United States and makes his way to Europe where he travels around, running from anyone who might be following him ; he never stays in one place more than a month. 2016 — in yet another act of revenge, Helmut Zemo bombs a U.N. meeting, killing the King T'Chaka of Wakanda in the process ; Zemo frames Bucky for the bombing in order to flush him out of hiding ; he is found in Bucharest, Romania, where he is apprehended and taken to Berlin by SHIELD, after also having been pursued by Prince T'Challa of Wakanda ; Zemo, posing as a psychiatrist, triggers The Winter Soldier conditioning, leading him to kill multiple SHIELD agents in escaping ; he is saved by Steve and Sam Wilson and they all soon go on the run ; they are lured to an abandoned Soviet base in Siberia by Zemo ; Bucky and Steve go to Siberia ; Zemo has the intent to activate The Winter Soldier yet again and force Bucky to kill Steve ; Zemo is apprehended by Bucky and Steve and handed over to SHIELD. 2016 - 2018 — Steve, familiar with Prince T’Challa of Wakanda, asks if Bucky, his name now cleared of King T'Chaka's death, can have sanctuary in Wakanda, as he knows Bucky will be safe and hidden there ; there, Bucky is put into suspended animation while Shuri, princess of Wakanda, devises a way to remove the Soviets’ programming ; through a complicated process, this is done and Bucky is truly on a path of healing and recovery from the years of torture from the Soviets ; Bucky receives a new prosthetic, vibranium arm, designed by Princess Shuri. 2018 - ? — Bucky chooses to leave Wakanda and return to the United States ; upon returning, seeing that he is still a wanted criminal and terrorist, Bucky turns himself in ; in turning himself in, Bucky is not arrested nor incarcerated at this time, but is willing to undergo heavy monitoring to prove he is not and will not be a threat to public safety or the country’s security ; Bucky is put on trial for his crimes as The Winter Soldier (the trial is not televised, a limited number of people are allowed in the gallery, and Bucky is advised not to do interviews before, during, or directly after trial proceedings) ; during the trial, the terms of a pardon were negotiated and, when no official verdict in the trial is reached, Bucky is granted a (conditional) federal pardon ; as a condition of his pardon, he is required to attend mandated therapy to assess his psychological state and to ensure he will not be a public threat in the future ; he is no longer considered an enemy of the state or terrorist and lives as a civilian.***
