Fish Bait
Yandere!Siren x GN Reader
CW: Kidnapping, assault, minor stalking, murder, thalassophobia maybe?
🌊 You are quite shy when it came to talking to people. You found the whole 'socializing thing' a bit overwhelming considering how rough and loud the rest of the people in your academy was.
🌊 You much preferred staying by the shore with a nice book or drawing book to enjoy the sound of the waves with. The ocean breeze and wailing of seagulls never failed to relax you.
🌊 One day, you heard the strange sound of splashing by the tide pools along the more rocks area of the shore. You thought it was a fish or some other animal that got stuck in one of the pools after the tide retreated and got up to help it out.
🌊 But what you saw was no animal, well, half animal. In one of the pools was a man with the lower half of a fish, his scales glistened wondrously as it splashed in the water.
🌊 The man looked at you with wide eyes and froze. You put your hands up to show you meant no harm.
🌊 "Please! Spare me! I just want to go home!"
🌊 "Calm down! I won't hurt you!"
🌊 He shook with fear as your hands drew closer to him.
🌊 You then pulled him up from the pool and carried him to the sea, he stares at you as you gently lowered him unto the water.
🌊 As soon as his tail was submerged in the sea, he swam out of your grasp and went a distance away from you, part of his head peeking out of the water as his red eyes looked at yours.
🌊 "Well...safe travels.." You mutter, wading back to shore, but the merman peeks his mouth out the water and shouts to you.
🌊 "You're not going to ask anything in return?"
🌊 You look back. "Uhm..no, I'm fine, thanks anyway.."
🌊 "Hmm, you know...you can come with me to my home. I'll grant you the power to breathe under water and you can enjoy the treasures I have there. What do you say? It's the least I can do for what you've done for me!"
🌊 "Nah, I'm good. Be safe though, I heard theres pirates that hunt merfolk nowadays..." You continue your way to shore but the merman swims quickly to your side.
🌊 "Don't you want to be rid of those insolent fools you call schoolmates? I can give you a life people only dream of!"
🌊 "I'm not really..interested..."
🌊 "...You're not?"
🌊 "Yeah..."
🌊 "...Oh..uh..ok...wow-um..well, bye I guess..." The man stutters before sinking his head back into the water.
🌊 You sigh, that was some encounter. You doubt you'd run into something like that again...
🌊 Boy howdy you were wrong.
🌊 You'd spot the strange boy again and again, always hiding back behind the rock or piece of driftwood he was watching you from.
🌊 Sometimes you'd also find trinkets and beautiful stones laid on the shore. You never took them though; you didn't want to take something someone probably lost. The merman would grumble to himself every time you ignored his baits.
🌊 You'd also see him again trapped in the pools, feigning sorrow that poor little him got stuck again during another low tide. What ever shall he do?
🌊 Your days would go on like this, the merman desperately trying to lure you into the sea but to no avail due to your shy and polite nature.
🌊 Him basically stalking you turned to him directly talking to you and trying to get you to go with him in the water.
🌊 "Oh dear, I've been stuck at this reef for ages! I just can't get out! Could you help me please? I promise not to drown you!"
🌊 "No thanks, I'm on the last chapter of my book..."
🌊 "My, my, it's so lonely in the ocean, not a playmate in sight, come down with me so we can really get to know each other yeah?"
🌊 "I don't really wanna get my clothes wet..."
🌊 What you thought was a potentially dangerous creature of the sea became a whiny, attention-seeking drama queen.
🌊 Eventually, you'd learn his name is Caspian. He gave up a bit on trying to lure you and settled on making small talk with you.
🌊 Most of your conversations would revolve around your cultures, how you two lived compared to eachother.
🌊 "So those silver things with teeth aren't combs? Interesting...tell me more!"
🌊 He more or less looked up to you because of the knowledge you'd tell him, even though it was all basic things ever human knows, but he wasn't a human so, I guess it's alright.
🌊 He'd try to crawl onto shore to see what you were reading or drawing. You'd have to scoot away from him because he was dripping wet, and you didn't want your paper to get soiled.
🌊 Please read to him! He loves it when you read out loud the books you bring!
🌊 Life seemed pretty content with you having a friend to talk to, one who's not judgmental of your quiet personality.
🌊 That was until one day, you heard laughing and shouting from your usual spot.
🌊 You saw your classmates, waist deep in the water trying to drag Caspian to the shore, the merman snarling and biting the air around him angrily as the bullies degrade and laugh at his attempts to wriggle out of their grasp.
🌊 "Look at this, boys! With this ugly thing we can buy the whole pub if we wanted to!"
🌊 "H-hey! Leave him alone!" You shouted, dropping your things as you ran to help your friend, but one of them punched you with in the face and grabbed you, about to hit you again.
🌊 "What? You're gonna let this siren kill everyone that comes to this beach? God you're dumb! No wonder why you have no friends!"
🌊 He was about to give another blow when you both heard a shrill cry from the ocean.
🌊 The water pooled with crimson as only the splashing of limbs can be seen form the shore, cries and gurgles are heard from the writhing gore. Your classmate rushes into the water to save his friends before the violent splashing stops and the red patch of bloody water extends towards him and around him until you see him get yanked below into the water, a splash of a fish tail verified in your mind that it was Caspian.
🌊 You could feel your heart pounding as you see the siren lift its head from the water, his blood red eyes staring at you again with razor sharp teeth bared.
🌊 "P-please...don't hurt me..I didn't lead them to you I swear!" You cried as he crawled to your shivering form.
🌊 You held your breath as he pulled you in a wet hug, your clothes getting stained by the salty, bloody water.
🌊 "Oh my darling~ I know you would never hurt me~ But we're not safe here anymore..I fear I'll have to take you somewhere safer...somewhere away from those disgusting creatures."
🌊 You couldn't even react before you were pulled into the water forcefully, you kicked and swam all you could to get him to let go of you, but soon enough, your whole body was under the water. The only thing that was left of you were your things by the sand, and bubbles that rose to the surface before stopping.
🌊 "You'll be safe here my love, my most wonderful treasure~"

OMG OMG OMG I JUST READ SIREN (finally got the time lmao) AND I'M SCREAMING OH MY GOD IT'S SO GOOD!
I couldn't help but imagine a few extra things tho. Like our scaly Yeosang who gets easily dehydrated, being a creature of the sea, so his skin dries out very often and he has to carry a shit load of moisturiser and sunscreen around.
Or like Yeosang and the MC swimming around in the ocean and playing with the little fishies for a bit.
Jongho and MC going like: "Siren siren, kill kill, murder murder." and Yeo and Sannie being ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED.
And since Joong joined them in the end, I can't help but imagine what the rest of the guys might be. Hwa is a merman for sure. I would not accept anything other than Hwa being a bubbly little merman with his long hair and pink tail (IT HAS TO BE PINK.)
JjongSan coming across Yeo and MC conversing with some horrifying deep sea creature that looks like it's straight out of a horror fest, and the two just going "Hey guys! Meet Bob."
AAA FINALLY YOU READ IT HEHE THANK YOUU!!
omg yes. yeosang struggling with his skin and dehydration-- where were you when i was writing this LMAOO but omg imagine it gets worse as he turns more human so now that he has his voice back, maybe it gets better but he'll still want our reader to do his skincare for him hoho
they'd def play with the fishes when they're not too busy playing with each other ;) DFKHGJKDFCHGJD yes you're absolutely right, and reader will not stop teasing yeosang about how he should be catching fish for them to eat hehe
honestly the jongho x reader interaction would be an everyday occurence haha yeosang and sannie would know when to steer clear of their path LMAOO who's the real monster now huh?
also yes. hongjoong may be half mer but seonghwa NEEDS to be full mer with his pink hair. nothing else for him works. for other members, i thought about a few like yunho could be a nymph of some sort, but wooyoung and mingi... i feel like i would have to make a whole new specie for one of them if not both LOLLL any thoughts?

SIREN (AMMB): Zadok’s Ending
Chapter 1: Meeting the Band
Pairing: Deep Sea Merman (Zadok) x Gender Neutral Reader
Adult Content below the cut. Dom Reader and collar use.

Tumblr media

A lithe looking figure was draped in oversized clothing. Loose cuffed cargo trousers were covered in chains and topped with a large hoodie and a coat which made your own look positively thin. You frowned before you caught sight of the pale, micro-scaled skin underneath. The white scales shimmered with pearlescence as Zadok glanced around behind himself and touched the water pumps attached to his neck, which were then coupled to a small tank fastened like a backpack to him. There was a sense of worry in his posture as he reached for his wallet to order.
“A chai tea please. And an anchovy sandwich to go.” He ordered quietly as the barista noted it down and carefully took his money, trying to avoid staring to badly at the suction cups and tank attached to him. Zadok ignored her look and stood to the side, pulling his hood further over his fins to avoid any more unwanted attention from the customers and staff. It was weird seeing the confident lead singer to upset and shy about being seen in public. Your staring, however, got you caught firmly in the act. With a rush you turned back to your phone, and pretended not to be looking as his white eyes caught you. A huff sounded but he didn’t move to come and say anything. He turned back to the counter and opened his phone, clawed webbed fingers typing across the keyboard.
Sadly, and awkwardly, you turned back to your table and waited for your food, trying to put Zadok out of you mind. He didn’t owe you anything after all, you were just a fan of the band. The barista was quick to make his drink before she packaged and wrapped his sandwich for him in the red and white plaid paper.
“Thank you.” He rumbled as he took the food and paper cup, “Have a nice day.” Zadok’s webbed fingers adjusted the wrapped sandwich before he tucked it into his satchel and placed his wallet firmly back inside. The singer reached upwards, his pale skin flashing with purple light, to adjust the cups over his gills. They didn’t budge, and so he walked away from the line, his hood up and his head ducked as he headed towards the door, leaving with a soft ring of the bell. You ducked over your food as he turned to walk left, past the glass window you were sat next to. He stopped just outside of the door and pulled something out of his pocket as he sipped at the tea in his hand. You realised it was his phone and as he raised it closer to his eyes you ducked back down to avoid being seen, sipping your own drink before your phone vibrated on the table again.
Thinking it was just another text from Tom, you opened the screen with a disappointed sigh, upset that Zadok had ignored you. The screen lit up again and you clicked your tongue at the incessant buzzing. A message, but not from an account that you knew, nor did you follow them. It was a picture of a figure huddled by a cliff as the profile icon, decked in all black and shielding themselves from the wind. The water looked choppy and you saw the faintest hint of waves in the background. With a confused look, you opened the message.
‘Sorry for ignoring you.’
The second message was not twenty seconds after the first.
‘This is Zadok by the way. Don’t start gawking out of the window at me please.’
Slightly rude, you thought as you looked closer at the obscure profile icon, wondering just how the weird, huddled mass of black could be the singer. Your phone buzzed again before you could give it much thought.
‘Meet me by the Elf fountain.’
You looked up from your phone as the Merman tugged his hood a little higher and tucked his hands into his pockets again. You didn’t see him then as he disappeared into the mid-morning crowds beyond your sight. With a rush you finished up your food and took your coffee to go before you made your escape out of the café and into the street. The Elven fountains weren’t too far from the café and you were eager to know just why Zadok had even spoken to you at all. The fountains were fresh water and housed a few species of pond fish, usually Koi kept for decorative appeal in the gardens. A car slammed its horn at you as you dashed across the crossing at the last moment heading towards the park where the fountains were.
It didn’t take you long to weave your way through the streets and it took even less time for you to manage to find Zadok. He was perched on the edge of the fountain, his feet beneath the cool water. You were sure it wasn’t allowed but none of the busy workers seem to be bothered by the man as he trailed them back and forth. His heavy work boots were shoved by the side of the stone, his socks tucked into each boot. You stood by the gate to the little fountain area for a moment before white eyes turned and found you staring. Zadok pulled a hand free from his pocket to give you a small wave, claws flashing a silvery colour in the light.
“Good morning.” he offered as you approached, his voice soft and calm despite your obvious staring from the gateway.
“Good morning.” You replied, feeling awkward and caught out by his kind greeting, “So…”
Zadok chuckled at you as he pulled his feet up onto the stone, perching his head on top of his knees, “So…” he replied.
“Why did you invite me here?” You asked quietly as Zadok brushed water from his webbed feet, avoiding his other filed claws on each of his toes, “You seemed well, pretty gloomy when you walked in.”
Zadok just watched you for a moment, his ghostly eyes staring at you before his mouth stretched to reveal a wide smile full of thin, sharp teeth, “I tend to look like that when Duncan spends his night crushed against me instead of in his own bed.”
Suddenly, it was like the tension dissipated, like a lightning bolt and smashed right through it. Your tension seemed to evaporate, and you returned his smile, “I can see why that would make you upset.”
“Oh, like you wouldn’t believe.” he chuckled, “I’m sorry for seeming like an utter creep, but I don’t…well I don’t much like public places. I get recognised and its just never much fun after that.”
“No, I understand, I’m just confused about how you uh…found my socials.” You asked as Zadok’s eyes widened in realisation.
“Ah. I see now.” he lowered his head and awkwardly played with the tops of his shoes, “I found the pictures. It wasn’t too hard to find considering the show was last night.” he confessed, “That’s my private account for family and friends.” Zadok reached for his phone and showed you the screen of his page, “I wanted to talk, if that’s alright with you?”
You stepped closer and sat down on the side of the fountain with the singer, “What do you want to talk about?” You smiled as you sat down, folding your hands in your lap as you tried to get comfortable against the stone.
“It seems weird now that I think about it.” Zadok confessed as you sat next to him, your drink clutched between your two hands, “I just wanted to thank you for what you said yesterday. It really does mean a lot to have someone feel so strongly about our music.” You watched as he tucked his clawed, webbed hands away in his pockets before looking him in the eyes.
His white eyes were striking, and you struggled to reply immediately, “You don’t have to thank me for being honest. Your music is amazing, just like you’re an amazing singer.”
“It means more than you think.” He insisted as he reached for his own drink, and pushed aside a small plastic bag, “I’ve spoken to a lot of fans, and, trust me, not one of them has spoken like that. Not with such passion about it all.” he laughed softly as he leaned back to take a drink, revealing the water pumps over his gills. He caught you staring, “They’re more to stop me drying out and hacking on everyone. I find I really need them after shows. So much singing hurts my lungs, so I have to revert back a little.”
“I had no idea you had to breathe water too.” You marvelled at the gills again before turning your gaze back to his pale scale-skin face, “Wait…” You held up your hands, “You sing so much it actually hurts?”
“Now don’t worry yourself!” Zadok bumped your shoulder gently, “Its not bad. Just like human singers need rests from growling, I need my own rest and recuperation.” He chuckled again, “But it is much easier to sing with water, but its not something anyone but a Mer can understand well.”
“Is that why you looked like you enjoyed the beginning solo so much? Because its easier to sing in the water?” You asked, curious and eager to pick Zadok’s brain.
He laughed at you before nodding, his hood sliding to reveal the pointed tip of one of his fins, “I’m surprised you noticed.” he held his drink in his lap, wiggling his wet toes in the cool air, “Its not just that its easier to sing, really…I was born in the ocean, even though my parents have long lived with humans. We still spend our early years in the deep black waters before integrating into society. I’ve always just loved the water. Its always brought me peace. Its like a veil on the audience so I can just be myself.”
“That seems like an odd way to start life, but the more I think about it the more I think it must be nice, to be just you and the water.” You sat back, your palms pressed into the rough stone as you looked at the water, “And I bet it made you an amazing swimmer.”
Zadok paused before laughing again, the noise gentle and soothing, like the sound of water in a stream full of pebbles, “It did make me a good swimmer, yes, but it also taught me a lot about our culture. It made me who I am.” he looked at his feet and the water in the tank gurgled quietly.
Silence fell between you both again, and you sat looking at the little goldfish in the fountain as they swam around Zadok’s ankles and disappeared under the lily pads. It was serene. You looked up and soaked in the weak sun.
“I have one more question for you.” Zadok said.
You looked over to him, “What’s that?” You asked.
He looked around and leaned over, “Is there somewhere more, private than this?” he sighed, “I just…I’m sick of being recognised. I ran into a group of fans on my way here and had to sign a few things. I just…”
“Want a day away from it all?” You asked gently, “I think I have a place in mind.”
Zadok smiled at you, “You’re not planning to kidnap me, are you?” he joked as he took another drink of coffee.
“Me? Kidnap you?” You exaggerated, “I think I would have more luck catching one of these goldfish, and that’s a pretty slim chance!”
Zadok laughed gently, like the sound of water over stone, and you stood from the fountain, holding your coffee as you waited for him to shake his feet dry and put his shoes back on. He looked at his socks and huffed before pushing them into his pockets, opting to instead carry his boots and walk barefoot through the grass.
“So, where do you have in mind?” he asked as he followed you, “Will I need my shoes on?”
You nodded at him, “You’ll need your shoes for now. The city might be okay but I’m pretty sure you’ll get glass in your feet if you don’t wear something.”
“Yeah, I don’t think that’s too fun. I can’t be having a day in the minor injuries unit.” Zadok followed you to the gate before he took his napkin from his coffee and wiped off his feet. He hopped on each foot as he put his sock on and then his boots. Quickly, he tied the laces up before he checked his wrist. A silver watch flashed, and he hummed at the time.
“Have you got somewhere to be?” You asked.
Zadok shook his head as he clicked the sound off his phone, “Nope. Let’s get going.” he pulled his hood back up and hid his face as you exited the park and headed out towards the city’s edge.
“I suggest you keep your stuff close.” You suggested as you both entered into a small, abandoned area of the city. It was overgrown and the small homes here were derelict, with ivy and bushes sprouting out of the windows and collapsed roofs.
Zadok looked up through the trees, “What kind of place is this?” he asked quietly as you both stepped around a couple of mushroom circles.
“It’s a fae pool. A spirit pool of sorts.” You pointed past the houses towards a large clearing where a natural pond glittered with the light pouring through the centre hole of the canopy, “Its protected by the city for small fae and creatures to use and live in. Some species can’t integrate with humans, so these are the result.” You pointed to the rocks where a nymph combed her hair. She turned and saw you both, smiling before she blended into the air and disappeared into a small creek that trickled away from the large pond with a chime of laughter.
“This is amazing.” Zadok breathed as he ran his claws over a rotten wooden fence, touching the ivy which wrapped around them gently, “I’ve never seen something like this before, not unless it was in the actual countryside.”
You smiled brightly as you reached the edge of the water, “Well, its something a lot of people don’t know about. I only know because of the guy I work with. He comes out here sometimes during shifts.”
“Is that the one that was with you last night, the werewolf?” Zadok asked curiously as he laid his bag down by the edge and undid his coat.
“Oh yeah, that’s Tom. He comes with me to a lot of stuff. We’ve been friends for years now.” You answered him, “I saved him a spot at the front since he was just as excited as me to see you guys.”
“He’s a nice guy then.” Zadok smiled, his needle like teeth parted slightly as he turned to sniff the air, “Sounds like a keeper.” he teased.
You shook your head, “Nah. We’re just friends. Tom is like a brother to me. We’ve both been through this before.” You shrugged, “I’m sure I’ll find someone like that though.”
“Yes, I’m sure you will.” Zadok awkwardly added before he changed the subject, “Are we allowed in the water?”
The water was clear enough to see the heavy, dark stones that covered the bottom and you shrugged at Zadok.
“So long as you don’t kiss any Nymphs, I’m sure you’ll be fine.” You joked as you sat yourself next to the water and sipped the last remnants of your drink.
“Oh, I don’t plan on kissing any of them.” Zadok chuckled as he shrugged his coat off and reached for his tanks, “Would you mind…”
“Oh, gosh, sure, sorry.” You rambled before turning around, “Are those tanks hard to get off.
In reply you heard the hiss and click before water glugged and the tank thumped to the floor, “No. It’s not too hard, just a lot of suction cups and water glugging.” Zadok hummed and you made sure to keep turned around as fabric fluttered to the floor, “You can turn back now.” He announced quietly.
You turned back around, clutching your drink between your hands, and looked at the man as he laid on his back and floated out into the middle of the clear water. He was bare of clothes, but nothing was exposed, and you remembered your anatomy lessons enough to know that most Mer’s had slits which hid everything away. Zadok flipped himself backwards and plunged himself deep into the pool. The water swirling was the only sign he was moving, and you walked back to the edge and sat down. Much like he had earlier, you took your shoes and socks off, and plunged your feet carefully into the water. It was quite cool, and you shuddered at the sensation before you wiggled your toes back and forth and swung your feet in the water. A hand grabbed your ankle and you jumped with a squeak until Zadok’s white head appeared. His head emerged and you marvelled at the glittering silver and purple of his bioluminescence. His eyes blinked back their protective eyelids, the third lids sliding to the sides of his eyes as he peered up at you with a grin of needle like teeth.
“Boo.” He whispered before submerging his gills again, his eyes poking out above the water while the slits on his neck and ribcage flared and moved water.
“You’re an ass.” You commented before splashing water at his head.
Zadok flared the fins on his head, the sails on top of his head and one each side shaking in a ripple before they shone with purple light, “You stuck your feet into a pool with unknown creatures in it.” he shot back at you as he laid himself on the incline of the pool, his stomach resting against the stones, keeping his gills submerged.
“Is the water okay for you? Don’t you need salt water since you’re from the deep ocean?” You asked curiously, “You won’t get any infections from it will you?”
Zadok gave you a withering look, “I’ll be fine. If this is a fae pool it will be perfectly clean. They don’t like dirty water.” he wiggled back into the water, “I can breathe fresh water just fine, since this is pure, its even better.”
“That’s great then. I didn’t want to be responsible for making you ill or anything! Considering you have a few more months of touring it would be pretty disastrous.” You smiled with relief.
For a while, you watched Zadok swim and dive. He dipped beneath the surface seamlessly and you marvelled at the glow to his fins and scales as he dove to the bottom of the pond. You could make out the colour of his bioluminescence beneath the surface, glowing through the water as he swam in large circles. As you sat, quiet and still, the sprites seemed to return to the water, and you smiled as a few smaller sprites sat by you in the reeds and grass. A couple of small looking mushrooms rattled together before their small arms and legs appeared and they opened their eyes, trundling over to pick at Zadok’s clothes and shoes before they hopped into his shoe and made happy noises. You laughed at them before a small, hummingbird like fae zipped in front of your face and giggled before settling herself on top of your head to play with whatever she could reach. Zadok surfaced and opened his eyelids as a couple of kelp looking creatures clung to his fins. They flopped back into the water before he could complain but he only smiled beneath the surface, snapping at them with his sharp teeth to scare them away from his fins. He reached and tugged a few of them free of his dorsal sail, the sharp needles tearing a few of them a little, but they didn’t seem to complain as they floated back into the depths of the pond.
“They seem to like you.” Zadok commented as he swam close to the edge, his body bending before he laid his webbed hands in the grass, claws plucking at the strands and snapping them.
“If you come here long enough, they take a liking to you. They just like people who can sit quietly, and who don’t litter.” You replied as you placed your cup into his plastic bag. You hummed as you reached inside and plucked the bottle out, “Did you plan on doing a little more than swimming?” You teased as you shook the bottle of whiskey in front of him.
Zadok plucked it out of your hands and scoffed, “A little more than relaxing…” he muttered, “Something like that. It’s been a rough few weeks, being on tour and all.”
You didn’t know Zadok well, but you found yourself replying before you could stop yourself, “Is it something you want to talk about?”
“No.” he replied brusquely, “Its something at home. Nothing you can really help with.” Zadok hummed, “But some company might be nice?” he asked as he held the whiskey a little higher out of the water.
It was only just past midday, but you smiled at him, remembering that you had the day off work anyway. You checked your phone and nodded.
“Sure. I wouldn’t mind sharing some of that. Its expensive.” You commented as Zadok undid the lid and tossed it into the grass.
He held the drink up before taking a few sips and hissing, “Definitely decent stuff.”
“I’ll be the judge of that.” You joked, “As a bartender, I have a keen sense for what makes a good whiskey.” You laughed before taking a mouthful and humming at the burn as you swallowed, “Oh yeah, definitely decent.”
“I’m glad you approve.” Zadok chuckled as he leaned back and floated out into the middle of the pond, his eyes closed as the sun shone through the leaves and hit the skin of his belly. His stomach glittered with blue and purple light from the natural sunlight and you watched the light show in awe before you took another sip of whiskey to dampen the feeling swirling in your gut.
Zadok floated for a while before he dipped below the water and dove to the bottom, the water swirling in his wake. His fins popped back out of the water as he swam to the edge and surfaced, smiling at you before he held out his fist.
“Open your hand.” he insisted, “I have something for you.”
You did as you were told and placed the whiskey down to open your hands for what he had to give you. He opened his claws and dropped a large looking rock. You frowned but span it over to reveal the inside of a geode. It was split some time ago but Zadok’s swimming had cleaned most of the silt from inside of it, revealing a shiny gathering of blue and clear crystals. The sprite in your hair chirped happily before a magpie squawked and landed nearby, eyeing the shiny object up with one beady eye.
“Wow.” You whispered, “Was this at the bottom of the pond?” You asked as you turned the crystals away from the sunlight, so the magpie didn’t decide to dive at you for the object.
“There’s a small cave at the bottom. It probably leads to some fae lair, but the inside was full of rocks and geodes. Its obviously a lair which has been abandoned though, there’s silt all over it.” Zadok commented, “They probably moved along a while ago.”
“That’s amazing.” You replied, “Thank you. Its very pretty.”
Zadok failed to stop his fins from flaring as he puffed with pride, “Sorry.” he grunted, “It’s a natural thing. I can’t stop myself.”
You only laughed at him, “Its fine, don’t worry about it.” You took hold of the whiskey again and held it out for him, “Want some more.”
Embarrassed, Zadok nodded, “Yep.” And took the whiskey as he swam back out into the pond, treading water easily as he sipped whiskey, back and forth across the length of the body of water.
The whiskey was strong, and it quickly got to your head, making you smile as you laid near the edge of the water, talking as you watched the clouds roll overhead. You grinned as Zadok started to cloud watch with you. It was childish almost, but peaceful as you both laid back and watched the day roll past, sipping whiskey before you started on the bread and meat he had shoved into the bag as well, chewing slowly as you listened to the trees rustle and fae giggle. The sun started to dip below the horizon as you both finished off the bottle of whiskey, giggling and slapping water at each other before you flopped back against the bank with your feet swirling back and forth in the water. Zadok dipped below the surface and resurfaced happily, stretching his lithe figure out before he swam back towards you. One of his hands wrapped around your ankle, the black, tapered claws grazing over your skin before he pulled himself out of the water, and grazed them up over your calf, to the point where your bottoms were rolled up your legs. His white eyes continued up your legs, following their own path over your chest before your gazes locked.
His fingers pressed against your skin, softly mapping the expanse of your calf before he trailed his other hand up your other leg, touching the back of your leg in a slow stroke before he heaved his body up and out of the water, resting between your legs as he dripped water over your stomach. Intensity burned in his white eyes as his nose holes flared and his mouth opened, scenting the air. You looked up at him and felt your body go hot. After a moment looking at his perfect, pearl coloured skin, you dared to stroke your hands over his stomach, following the deep purple colours as they zipped up over his shoulders and down his back. A croaking purr escaped Zadok as he pushed his skin against your hands, enjoying the petting as his lips pursed. His gills flared with a sigh before he leaned over and pressed his lips to your own. His second eyelids closed over his eyes, like he was snatching a fish from the water, and he watched you melt against the grass, one of your hands cupping his cheek, stroking at the fin on the side of his head, while your other hand dared to trail down his stomach, stroking the soft, scaled skin before you reached the mound between his legs.
Another soft rumble ran up Zadok’s check before he croaked, the sound accompanied by the soft fluttering of his gills. His eyes were closed as your fingers grazed over the flushed flesh of his slit. You stroked along the centre where the rough scales parted to reveal a peak of his soft, blue coloured flesh.
“Fuck.” Zadok whispered as his arms shook, “Please.” he whimpered in your ear.
“Please, what?” You gasped as your finger dipped into the slit as it grew slippery with a natural lubricant before you kissed him again, stroking the flushed flesh gently as you felt his tongue prod at your lips. The two of you kissed a little deeper, tongues touching before Zadok tilted his head and pulled himself out of the water completely, pressing his wet skin and scales to your front.
The mer shifted against you as your fingers came away from his slit, covered in a thin slime, “Let me…” he croaked again with a purr, “Let me have you.”
You grinned as he pressed his slit to your hips, rubbing the scales against you, “Do you have a room somewhere?” you asked, no louder than a whisper.
Zadok nodded his head as you dragged your nails down his back, shivering before he managed to speak, “The Rouge Bard. We have our own rooms. Everyone is out today.” he added as he blinked and leaned to nip at your lips, his gills fluttering again before he leaned back.
“We best continue this there then.” You stated as Zadok kissed you once more and pulled away, shaking water from his body as he hissed and pulled his clothes back on. The cotton dragged at the swollen flesh of his slit and you drunkenly hummed, looking at his angular ribcage, structured with thin bones and heavy scales. You were admiring him. Zadok smiled as he zipped up his cargo pants, moving the chains out of the way as they linked together and jangled.
“Yes. Let’s.” Zadok shuddered as the wind blew, but quickly covered up before stealing another heated kiss from your lips, his fins flaring as you clicked the water tank breathers to the gills on his neck.
The two of you stumbled from the abandoned homes, stealing kisses and dragging your hands over each other’s skin as darkness settled over the city. You stumbled and laughed with one another as you reached the hotel and he dragged you into the elevator, purring his croaking noise again as he pressed you to his front and stole another kiss, his lips demanding more from you. His tongue slipped into your mouth and you gasped against his teeth as they nipped at you. The elevator pinged the floor and you both collapsed out of it, dragging each other down the hall until you reached his door. You pressed his back against it as he fumbled for the keycard to get in.
A whistle sounded behind you as Zadok opened the door, “Golden boys getting some ass tonight I see.” Senoz purred from across the hall.
“I think I might be the one getting the ass.” You purred as the demon’s tails swung upwards, curled curiously.
“Well, when he’s a disappointment, you know where to find me, sweet thing.” Senoz swiped at your neck and licked the skin before leaving you both to tumble into Zadok’s room.
“Fucking demon.” the merman growled, “I’ll…”
“You better not be all talk. I might get bored and head over to see how good Senoz is in bed.” You countered as his coat fell to the floor.
Zadok was quick to pull the suction cups of his water tank free, wheezing for a moment before he pealed his shirt off, revealing his angular chest and plated ribs again. You leaned back to admire the sight before he grabbed at your own clothes. You let him wrangle your coat and shirt off before you pushed him back towards the double bed. He went with a soft rumble, laying back against the cushions as he undid his trousers. You stood and slid them down over his hips to reveal his underwear. They were wet with lubricant. Pulling them down, you tried not to lick your lips as his slit sat before you, puffy and glistening, the head of his cock already peeking out from the blue flesh. Zadok threw his head back as you pushed your fingers against the soft scaled skin, revealing the v-shaped head of his cock.
“Fuck, please.” he whined again, “Please.” he reached for your neck and leaned up for a kiss, only to be denied as you spotted the jewellery collars on top of his dresser. They were probably from the show the night before. Before he could steal a kiss, you retrieved one of the studded black leather collars and grinned.
“If you’re a good boy, I’ll let you have what you want.” You promised as you slid back into his lap, holding the studs of the spiked collar open.
The merman looked from the collar to your face. His white eyes widened before he nodded, licking at his lips with a blue, pointed tongue. You reached around his neck to click the collar closed before leaning back in his lap to admire the black leather and silver spikes against his pearlescent skin. Bioluminescence trails ran up his arms as you trailed your hands over his scaled skin. It was rough over the tops of his arms and you dug your fingers into the meat of his tricep to enjoy the feeling of the rough skin against your palms. Sitting back on his thighs, you turned your gaze downwards as you looped a finger through the ring hanging from the leather. Zadok moaned quietly as you gave it a soft tug and teased the tip of his cock. It bobbed, stirring between the blue fleshy lips before it extended out of its hole, shining wet with lubricant. His dick was long and curved upwards, with a head that tapered into a v shape. Beneath the head was bulbous, in the shape of an oval, and the bottom was flared with ribs. It was entirely new, and you felt your mouth water slightly at the sight of the blue gradient of the organ. The bottom glittered with silver light at your staring and his cock bobbed upwards sharply as your fingers trailed over his shoulders and down his ribs. Zadok let out another purring croak as you finally reached his pelvis and ran your fingertips along the top of his dick.
“Please, master, please.” he croaked as he flopped back into the cushions, easily falling into a more submissive role as you dragged him up a little by the ring of his collar, “Please touch me.”
You shuddered at his tone of voice, enjoying the soft pleading from a voice which was usually so confident and demanding of attention on stage.
“Are you going to be a good boy and do as you’re told?” You asked as you sat on his thighs, running your fingers over his hips, towards the base of his cock, before you trailed back again, letting the head of his dick leak precum and his slit drip with more lubricant. The clear fluid leaked down over his buttocks and you watched as his face lit up with a blue blush.
Zadok swallowed thickly, “I’ll be g-good.” he promised quietly as you let go of the ring of his collar and stroked the length of his dick.
“Good boy.” You cooed as you stroked him, “We can stop anytime, just pat my thigh twice.” You told him before leaning down to steal a kiss from his lips as you pressed your finger to the sensitive head of his cock.
“Ah!” Zadok cried sharply as your fingers twisted underneath the bulbous part of his cock, “That’s…sensitive.” he whined as you grasped the oval shape again and stroked around it, watching his clawed feet curl into the sheets, cutting slits into the sheets.
“Its sensitive is it?” You asked as you trailed over the bump again.
“Yes.” he cried, “Please, master, I can’t…I’ll cum before…”
Abruptly, you let go, watching his cock bob and throb with a hum. Zadok whined and croaked again before leaning up to kiss you, demanding your attention.
“I think I need a little help before I can fit that in baby boy.” You uttered against his lips, “How about you open me up a little?”
Zadok nodded as you took hold of his hand and looked at his claws, assessing them for a moment before you decided they were clipped enough to not shred your insides.
Zadok croaked before purring again as you sat on your knees, resting above his lap as his hand encompassed your sex, the rough scales on the outside of his fingers grazing against your sensitive skin before they ran back and pushed at your hole. He met with resistance and the mer quickly gathered the natural lubricant from his slit, smearing it over his fingers before he pushed back against your hole. Carefully, he slid one finger inside to the second knuckle, letting you rest for a moment before he eased the rest in. Your inside were warm, and Zadok shuddered at the temperature difference before he crooked his finger and began gently thrusting it in and out. His other hand occupied itself at your chest before his mouth took to teasing your nipples, sucking on the buds until they were pert and sore, his sharp teeth nipping at the skin as he croaked again in happiness.
“You’re such a good boy.” You moaned between the attention of his mouth and hands, enjoying the pleasurable stretch as he pushed another finger into you and scissored the two apart, pressing against your plush insides.
“Anything for you, master.” Zadok purred drunkenly, his pale face flushed with blue blood. You watched his cock bob and weep a pearl of light blue precum, following the fluid as it dripped back down the length and mixed with the lubricant seeping from his slit.
“Zadok, you’re dripping all over yourself. Is this turning you on that much?” You asked breathily as his fingers pressed into a sensitive spot, keeping your composure as he sucked on your nipples again, leaving cool spit over the skin with his blue tongue.
“Mmm. It is.” Zadok hissed as you wrapped your hand around the head of his cock, “Please, can I be inside you?”
“Hmm? What was that? Where are your manners, baby?” You asked as you pulled his fingers from you looking at them before you leaned back in his lap and pinned his hands to the bed. His dick bobbed as you stretched his arms up over his head and you admired the shape of his lithe figure, all bone and sleek muscle. His luminescence burned bright in striped over his entire body, shooting like currents as you nudged your hips against his own, “What’s the magic word?”
“Please, master, I can’t stand it. I need to be inside you.” Zadok moaned as you tugged him up by the collar for a kiss, mashing your tongues and teeth together messily before you reached back and lined his dick up against your hole, “Thank you, thank you…” He uttered incoherently as you sank down on his cock.
A moan tore from you as the bulbous part under his head sank into you, stretching you wide before the ribs along the bottom scraped gently at your insides. A sharp bolt of pleasure ran up your spine as you took him to the base. He was unique, slippery, and textured in ways you had never taken, and you took a moment to admire his face as his second eyelids flicked and blinked back and forth. His hips shifted, jolting you on top of him, and you felt the cool seep of lubricant from where your hips were pressed together.
“You’re just gushing for me, aren’t you?” You teased as you slid up his cock and slid back down, enjoying the wet squelch that sounded as your hips collided. Zadok nodded and croaked again, reaching for his collar as his other hand wrapped around a bed post, anchoring himself as your rhythm took over, rocking his dick in and out of yourself. He struggled to say anything as the bulbous protrusion expanded, squirting something unfamiliar inside of you.
“Did you just….” You paused as he shook his head, and your insides turned into jelly, numb to the swell but tingling with extra pleasure. It was a thin stream of jelly and you sat up on your knees to see it drip out of you thickly, numbing wherever it touched.
“Its for…eggs…” he moaned, “I couldn’t stop myself…”
You moaned as your legs shook, “It’s fine…Fuck its.” You pushed your fingers to your sex and shuddered again.
“It’s an…aphrodisiac and its…” Zadok moaned sharply his hand flying to the bed post again as you dropped on his cock, picking up the pace in a frenzy as your insides throbbed with the need to cum.
“I need to cum, baby, can you do it with me?” You asked as you leaned for another kiss and to tug at his collar, tightening the hold of your hand around his neck slightly as you thrust onto him. The ribs of his cock brushed your insides and you quivered before you came, white hot pleasure burning behind your eyes before Zadok croaked and shot his load. You shuddered at the feeling as you slowly brought yourself off his dick. Light blue cum dripped from you and you flopped against his chest with a sigh, thumbing at the collar around his neck happily in the afterglow of it all.
Tiredly, you roused from your sleepy state as Zadok placed you back against the cushions and tugged the sheets over your body. You hummed against the cushions before the sheets slid back down over your skin.
“You’re not already up for more are you?” You cooed as you peeled open your eyes.
“If only. I’m not that young anymore.” Zadok chuckled as he eased you over onto your back and revealed a warm wash cloth. He hummed as he slid it over your skin, wiping away the cum and jelly like substance which had made your insides tingle.
“I might be able to go for another.” You hummed as he wiped between your legs and tapped at your thigh.
“Well, this one hasn’t got it in him, I’m afraid.” Zadok flopped next to you, clean and relaxed as he laid back against the cushions and reached around the back of his neck.
You reached for the collar for him, “Here. Let me do it.” You kissed the skin of his shoulder and squeezed his shoulder softly before you unclipped the press studs and pulled it away from his neck. You kissed his neck where the leather had bitten into his skin a little and placed the collar on the bedside table before snuggling back against his chest.
Zadok croaked a little before he ran his fingers over your back, running his claws up and down your spine as he laid back and enjoyed the warmth of your skin against his own. He was cool to the touch, and you slid your fingers down over his plated chest, swooping to the side to feel the odd angle of his ribcage before you stopped above his pelvis, remembering that his dick had probably long retracted into his slit.
“Wait you don’t have anything do you?” You asked sleepily.
Zadok thumbed at the bottom of your chin, “Unless you count drug laced jello as having something, then no.” he let out a raspy breath of air before sitting up, easing you off his body, “Sorry. I need to just go and soak a while. Come and join me?”
With a smile, you leaned up on the edge of the bed and kissed him, enjoying the scrape of his scales, “Sure. Give me a minute though, my legs are still a little like jelly.”
Zadok chuckled again before he purred softly and walked to the bathroom.
You watched his backside go before you sat back against the headboard and massaged at your thighs, hoping that the numb, tingling feeling would wear off. It felt like a residual tingling pleasure, and you felt your insides burn with the idea of another round in the posh hotel bathtub. A rumbling sounded from the floor. You perked up at the noise before looking at Zadok’s bottoms on the floor. His pocket lit up with the screen of his phone. Someone was ringing him. It wasn’t polite, and you knew that as you curiously leaned down and plucked the phone from his pocket.
‘Misty Conrad’ it read, and you felt your heart drop into your stomach. Miss Conch. The words rang in your head from the band meet and greet. Senoz had implied that they were together. Suddenly, the mild buzz from the alcohol wasn’t there, and you sobered up as the ringing stopped and the screen went black. You clicked the screen back on and looked at the notifications. Three messages. Ten missed calls. The phone buzzed again with a new message and you clicked it to reveal the short message.
‘I know you’re with that fan. Answer my calls Zadok or it’s over.’
Your eyes burned with tears of humiliation. He was with her. What they had was more than a song recorded together, and you were a fool for not seeing the signs earlier. You let out a small noise as you sniffed and grew angry, the tears siding down your cheeks as you grabbed for your clothes on wobbly legs.
“Was that my phone?” Zadok asked and you turned to face him as he poked his head around the bathroom door. He was dripping with water but his eyes widened as he saw you crying and grabbing for your clothes, “Are you…”
You threw his phone on the bedside table as you tugged your underwear and bottoms on, “You’re a cheating fuck!” You accused, “And you used me! I should have known that this was stupid but… Miss Conch. She’s been ringing you all say and now she knows.” Your brain couldn’t seem to quite catch up with you as you pulled your shirt on and grabbed your bag. Zadok wrapped his waist with a towel, his mouth open as he grabbed his phone from the table and looked. He cringed at the messages and turned.
“Look, its not what you think!” he insisted as he caught your arm, “We’ve not been together seriously for ages and…”
“And nothing!” You threw back at him, “You used me to console your feelings because you can’t bare to deal with her, and you’ve made me into some kind of…”
“I’m not…” Zadok took a breath, croaking as he pulled at his fins, “Look, I’m sorry, I’ll sort this…”
“I…I don’t care.” You tugged your arm free, feeling the tears beginning to burn into your anger again, “You’re a bastard, Zadok, I want you to know that. A selfish bastard.”
Zadok let your arm go as you opened the door and stood with his phone clenched in his claws as you slammed the door behind you. You wiped at your eyes furiously in the hall and took a shaky breath before you turned on your heels.
“Hmm, leaving so soon, sugar?” Senoz purred as he peered out into the hall, “Or did you want a piece of this instead of the fishy boy?” he sniffed and tilted his head, his horns scratching at the frame, “Wait, why are you crying? Are you alright?”
You held out your hand to him, motioning for him to stop as you wiped the tears away, “I’m fine. Leave it. I’ll be going.”
The demon turned his head to Zadok’s door as you left him stood in the hall. As you rounded the corner you heard him knock on the door.
“You know that’s real bad fucking PR to make fans cry after fucking them, Zadok!”
You didn’t hear from Zadok after that. The band continued their tour globally, and you watched the highlights happily, listening to the songs with your usual interest. You smiled at Duncan’s solos and watched the crowd go berserk. It was energy you lived for. Zadok’s performances were stunning. He draped himself over a piano and sang a ballad before he did more singing in his ancient mer language. It was lovely, but it stung a little. It wasn’t long after their tour finished that you turned on the alternative radio station. The ends of a metal song chugged along as you made a sandwich. It was your day off from the bar and you had been cleaning most of the day, enjoying cleansing yourself of clutter and dust. You hummed as you placed two slices of bread on the plate.
“Although we have drama in the metal scene, we’re all used to the usual knucklehead fights between rival bands, or better yet, accusations of plagiarism, but we’ve never quite had some news like this. The frontman of the band SIREN has been caught, if you mind the pun, in a fishing net of accusations. Miss Conch, the mans supposed former partner, has been blowing the lid off his life outside of his band. The accusations range from ritual sacrifice to cheating, and its not something we usually endorse. But, to answer these claims, we have the very man, or mer, with us in the studio right now.”
You dashed for the volume dial and turned it up a little before you moved your plate closer and began to cut up your filling for the lunch.
“So, Zadok, what do you have to say about these claims by Pop Star, Miss Conch?”
“Some are right, but most are wrong. The ritual sacrifice, for starters, is a ceremony done by my people to appease the currents of the ocean. We take a fish and its bones and lay them in art decorations as an offering. Its an old and sacred tradition. The cheating accusations are, in part true, but our relationship was never official, and I had already broken things off by the beginning of this tour. Her more serious allegations…well my manager and lawyer are already dealing with those. They are untrue and slanderous.”
“Are you calling Miss Conch a liar?”
“For the most part, yes, I am. She invaded my private life and failed to see when our relationship was over. I want to be transparent and come out to speak for my side of the story. I’m not calling her obsessed or anything derogatory, I am just justifying what is fact from fiction.”
“That’s understandable and I’m sure your fans appreciate your honesty.”
“Unfounded and untrue.” You scoffed as you slapped your sandwich together, “Next he’ll be telling everyone that he-”
“This drama has gone on long enough and it has hurt people close to me, not just mine and the band’s reputation. I hurt someone I now know I shouldn’t have with this mess and this is my start to fixing that mistake.”
“That he didn’t know where his dick was going…” You whispered as you looked at the radio like it was a person staring back at you. You wondered if he was talking about you as you moved around the island of your kitchen and headed towards your couch to sit and eat your sandwich. The host thanked him before announcing the next song as Burn by SIREN. You listened to the thunderous drums as you chewed, mulling over the words in your head before the guitars wailed and you thumped at the cushions.
“Why do I even think that? He’s the one who just failed to tell me he has a girlfriend!” You grumbled to yourself before pulling your phone out. You sighed as you opened MonstGram. In your inbox, there sat one message.
‘Can we talk? I need to speak to you. I know I’m a selfish bastard but I want the chance to apologise.’
The same image of the figure by the sea. You took a deep breath as you looked at the vague image of Zadok and placed your phone down, the screen black as you finished off the last bits of your sandwich. Contemplation lasted only a moment as the screen lit up and the notification registered. Another message. You looked at the icon and opened it again.
‘I know I’m the last person you want to see but I’m sorry things ended up how they did. I hope my stupid actions didn’t ruin your love of our music. I’ll leave you alone. That’s all I wanted to say.’
It stank of desperation. You looked from the message and back to your empty plate. It wasn’t manipulative. It was honest, and that made you hate how you were feeling even more. You opened the conversation again and stared at the picture of the sea and cliffs. Your fingers danced over the keyboard before you started to type.
‘One chance. Meet me at Full Moon Bar. Friday. I’ll be on shift but I’ll talk to you.’
 ‘I’ll see you then.’
With a great sigh, you closed your screen and looked up at the ceiling, your head resting on the back of the sofa cushions. It was a leap of faith, you knew that. You were trusting him with your good faith again.
“If he doesn’t show up, Miss Conch will be the least of his problems. I’ll slice him up like sushi and mail him back to his manager.” You spat, and the poisonous words made you feel a little better and hate him a little less. With a smile, you ran a hand over your face and got up to go and put your plate away in the sink for washing later. For now, you had a living area to deep clean, and you headed for the vacuum to try and clean Zadok from your mind for a while.
The bar was quiet on Friday. Thankfully, there was a small group who had a lot of orders to keep you entertained. It distracted you from the nerves brewing in your gut.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you today?” Tom asked as he leaned over the bar, his nose perked as he sniffed at the air, “You smell off as all hell.”
“Get your werewolf nose away from me, Tom. I mean it.” You threatened as you turned to place some clean glasses under the bar, “I’m not in the mood for your meddling.”
“Meddling? Me? Never.” Tom teased gently, “Its like you’re worried though. Talk to me.”
With a great sigh, you turned back to face him, “Someone I’ve not seen in a long time is coming…I just need you to be there in case. Not with me or anything, just around.”
“Of course.” Tom consoled, “I hope this isn’t some abusive asshole, because I swear on the moon I’ll…”
“Don’t worry. Its not. Its just something I need to sort out.” You assured him.
“Okay. What time do you need a minute?” he asked as he opened the bar door and stood next to you. You peered at the clock as the bell on the door rang, and Tom turned to greet them with a smile.
“Evening.” he said before he turned back to you, his eyes wide and his nose flared, “Tell me I’m not dreaming, and that Zadok from SIREN did actually just walk into the bar.”
You stiffened as you peered around him, “You’re not dreaming big guy.” You headed to the door, “So keep your cool. This is the one I need to talk to.”
Tom’s mouth opened like a large fish but he didn’t ask you any questions as you headed over to Zadok.
Zadok ducked into a booth near the entrance, his head low and covered by a large black hood. His water respirator was on and he was wearing a mouth piece over his face. You watched him before finally taking the last couple of steps and sliding into the seat. You slid him a shot of whiskey. Zadok caught the shot glass and looked up, his white eyes locking with your own before he reached for his face and clicked a few buttons. The water drained from the mask and he pulled it free, smiling with needle sharp teeth. He was dressed in his usual baggy combats and a large, long sleeve shirt. The shirt was torn and had a few chains linked across his chest. He tugged off his hood and looked at the shot glass for a moment.
“Look I know that…That I fucked up. What I did was selfish, and I took advantage of you.” he started as he clutched the glass between his hands, “I shouldn’t have I shouldn’t have let you do what you wanted but it happened and I’m sorry.”
You looked at his face and the wetness of his eyes, “You still did it, and that hasn’t changed. I was…I was hurt and upset. I had her message me, Zadok. Spiteful, horrible things. None of that hurt will go away but its fading.”
Zadok cringed over his drink, “We weren’t even properly together. We had sex and a few dates but with the tour, it wasn’t going any further. She messaged me constantly. Harrassed me with phone calls and I was just…I should have told her.” he looked you dead in the eyes, “I’m sorry I dragged you into this mess.”
“It’s a mess, but I appreciate you being so honest with me.” You confessed as he thumbed at his drink before downing the whiskey. His hands looked a little steadier after the strong liquor.
“It’s the least I could do. She’s in the past. She’s tried to file a lot of shit against me. It wasn’t worth it, and I’m…I’m tired. She can have the song rights and royalties. I just want her out of my life”
You didn’t comment but nodded as he ranted a little. You knew about the allegations. It was widely known news to the fans now. Still, his interview weighed on your mind.
“What you said in the interview you did on Metal Talks.” You started, “Is this what you were talking about? You wanted to make this right with me?”
“Yes. I knew…Look I was a fucking idiot, I know that, but I ruined something that I thought was going to be…”
“More?” You added with a small smile.
“Call it stupidity, but…You were just stunning, and I got carried away. The alcohol didn’t help matters but I still think you’re amazing. Your love for the music, for life, it just spoke to me and… Look I can’t change anything, but I can try and sort this out.” He pushed the glass over to you on the table, “We don’t know each other, not really, but would you be willing to know me, in a better way?”
You gut churned as you looked at his pearlescent skin and his beautiful white eyes, chewing the inside of your cheek, “Maybe I would. I thought you were moving, in everything, from the moment I started to follow you all, but that doesn’t change what you did. I need time and space, but I would like to know you, the real you.”
Zadok carefully reached for your hand and squeezed at your fingers carefully as he smiled and ducked his head. The door opened and Tom greeted the next customer. You sat, letting him hold your hand, before you blushed and got up.
“You still have to pay for the drink, but you can stay, if you like? I know Tom is dying for an autograph and a picture. He’s probably your second biggest fan.”
Zadok chuckled and looked up at you, “Who’s my first?”
“Well, you just might have to find that out.”

Shallow Waters (Part II)
Tumblr media
Words: 1.6k
Pairing: Hendery x Brittany (OC)
Rating: PG-15
Genre: fluff, some angst
Warnings: mentions of abandonment and homelessness, brief partial nudity (nothing graphic)
Brittany listened to everything Hendery told her from the small seahorses serving the merfolk to the giant humpback whales he used to swim and splash with. The dolphins were the best at making friends, and the starfish were the best dancers. He didn’t discuss the merfolk themselves due to his lack of knowledge about them, yet he gave only what he knew about himself being one. But Hendery talked very highly of the sirens.
“Didn’t they sing to lure pirates and sailors to their deaths?” Brittany’s eyebrow raised in confusion.
“Only the females,” Hendery confirmed. “Males sing, too, but for the opposite reasons. They sing to guide sailors and comfort the wandering travelers when on land.”
“Interesting. No one told me there were male sirens.”
“Not many humans do. Males don’t make contact with humans unless necessary. They stay in the fog or shadows.”
“That makes sense.”
Hendery rested his chin on her head for a moment before an idea popped into his head. “Would Brittany like to meet Hendery’s friends?”
“Your siren friends?” Her head popped up.
Hendery nodded.
“When?”
“Soon,” he promised. “They are helping another race of aquatic creatures right now, but I’ll call for them in a few days.”
Brittany’s eyes widened as they stood. “Who are they helping?”
Hendery thought for a moment. “Something about shark creatures or just a type of shark. Hendery doesn’t remember.”
Sharks were a creature most people are scared of, but Brittany guessed it was mainly because of the movie Jaws. She did agree that they were intimidating due to their rows of sharp teeth, but at the same time she didn’t mind them.
“Since you’re strong and grown up now,” Brittany wondered as they submerged back into the water, “do you live with the merfolk now?”
“Hendery is different,” he shook his head. “He is the only one of his kind who has shark’s teeth and consumes only fish. He can transform willingly without water, but only he can go humanoid for up to two weeks without getting back into the water.”
“You mean, you haven’t been around mermaids or other mermen since you were small?”
“Hendery is a nomad.”
Brittany didn’t know what to say. He was such a bright, curious, and happy soul that it was impossible to believe he had such a sad childhood. She understood why the merfolk would not allow him into their cities, but it still wasn’t fair to him if he just wanted a proper home. Her conscience knew it was all of a sudden, but she refused to let him sleep on a rock or beach anymore.
As they swam back to her house, avoiding the fishermen as they passed the pier, Brittany’s head was filled with the pros and cons of allowing him to live there. There was plenty of water for him to drink and keep hydrated, the ocean was literally in her backyard, and she would keep a stock of fish in the fridge. However, the fish might stink up her kitchen, and she didn’t know if he would be comfortable on a bed mattress. Part of her was saying it was a bad idea, but Brittany was taught to always help others in need.
The two made it back to her house and dried off with the towels hanging off the porch railing.
“Hendery likes it here,” the merman said as they sat under a large palm tree.
“I’m glad to hear that,” Brittany smiled. “May I ask you something?”
The offer for him to move in with her was right at the tippity top of her tongue, but she hesitated. It felt too soon. Instead, she remembered the carnival at the other end of the beach.
“Have you ever been to a carnival before?” was what came out of her mouth.
Hendery motioned towards the other end of the beach. “Is that what those bright lights are?”
“Yeah. We can go tonight, if you’d like.”
A smile grew on his face upon hearing this. “Hendery doesn’t not know what that is, but it sounds fun.”
“We’ll have to get cleaned up first.”
“Why?” he asked.
“So we don’t drag sand around,” she replied as they stood up.
Taking him by the hand, Brittany guided him into the house, while dragging a little bit of sand, and into a room he had never seen before. The walls were a shade of white with a blue tint, and in one corner was a large, glass door with glass walls and odd looking bottles inside. In the other corner was a round, boat-looking piece of porcelain that was big enough for two people to sit in. Between the two strange corners was a wooden cabinet that went from the floor up to the ceiling. Brittany opened one and pulled out pink colored towels and handed a few to Hendery.
“What is this place?” he asked as his eyes wandered around more.
“This is the bathroom,” Brittany replied when she realized she hadn’t given her friend a proper tour of the house. “It’s a room where humans clean themselves.”-She opened the glass door-”This is called a ‘shower.’ It’s more for when you wash your hair or just prefer a shower.”-she walked over to the porcelain boat. “And this is a bathtub. It’s more for a relaxing bath, but you still get clean, either way.”
“What are in those?” Hendery pointed to the bottles in the shower.
“Shampoo and conditioner are for your hair, and the body soap is self explanatory.”
Hendery nodded. For about half a minute, he glanced back and forth between the bathtub and the shower trying to figure out which he would like best. He wanted to see what bathing standing up was like, but he also desired to see what his tail would look sparkling clean. The ocean did so much by removing any mud or dirt, but he did notice tiny particles when he would be on dry land.
“Can Brittany bathe Hendery?” he requested. “In the bathtub?”
Brittany softly smiled and nodded. “I’ll turn around so you can undress.”
Once she turned on the water and made sure the temperature was okay, she then stood by the sink and faced the corner. The water rose to only about four inches before Hendery removed the borrowed clothing and discarded them on the floor. His toes carefully dipped into the warm, bubbly bath, taking in the relaxing sensation it created.
Hendery made his tail appear, replacing his human legs.
“Ready,” he said.
Brittany turned back around to see the merman in her bathtub trying his best not to splash the water too much, and she let out a giggle. He looked so cute just enjoying the water in that particular setting.
From the shower, she took out the hair products and body soap and set them on the floor next to her. Pulling up a stool, she sat down on it and had Hendery wet his hair. Brittany then squeezed some of the shampoo into her palm and began massaging it gently into Hendery’s scalp.
At first, her touch was strange, but as he gave in to her gentle massage and the feeling of her nails softly scratching his head, he relaxed. Hendery could get used to this, and he hoped that he could do the same for her one day.
Chunks of ocean mud were falling out of his hair, and the soap was starting to turn a little brown; but it told Brittany that his hair was clean. With help from the detachable faucet, she rinsed his jet black locks, and left the water back on to prevent dirt build up.
With a pink loofah, Brittany squeezed out some of the body soap and used it to scrub Hendery’s tail. She let him clean himself around his waist area to prevent any awkwardness, and then she scrubbed the rest of him. If his tail wasn’t sparkly before, it was sparkling now. Hendery’s eyes widened at how clean his tail was as he wiggled his tail to reflect the sunlight.
“Beautiful,” Brittany clapped.
Hendery smiled at the gorgeous job she did. He felt fresh and light. He loved the ocean, but something about a nice bath was relaxing.
“Thank you,” he whispered before kissing her hand.
Brittany felt her cheeks turn red. “Um...you’re welcome,” she managed to say. Maybe it was just his way of showing gratitude, she thought.
Hendery giggled when he noticed how much that little kiss affected her.
“Um...I’m...gonna...shower,” she stammered. “Can you...uh…?”
“Would Brittany like for Hendery to leave?” he realized what she was trying to convey.
“Just to the living room,” she regained her words back. “I’d like to shower in private.”
Crestfallen, Hendery nodded. Brittany gave him his towels and some fresh clothes before he transformed and left the bathroom.
Brittany felt bad for kicking him out, especially after seeing the sad expression on his face. She didn’t mean to come off so strongly, she was just in shock by his kiss that she couldn’t convey her thoughts well.
“Hendery,” she called after him, and he turned back around, “I’ll let you wash my hair one of these days.”
The smile returned to his face before he nodded in joy.
-
After she showered and dressed herself in some denim shorts, white converse, and a pink crop top Brittany met Hendery back in the kitchen. His hair was mostly dry now, but he was checking himself out in the living room mirror.
“Someone’s excited,” Brittany chuckled as she grabbed her purse. “Are you ready?”
Hendery nodded before following her out the door.
The carnival pier was only about a five minute walk from her house, and the lights could be seen in the distance as the late afternoon sun began to set. Neither of them realized they were holding hands until halfway into their walk. Brittany almost let go, but with growing feelings for her new friend she didn’t. They strolled on as if they had been together for a long time.

H2O: Just Add Water x Vampire Diaries Universe Crossover
(I know that sounds like a mouthful, but is legit the topic!)
Alright, so I’ll admit: I follow the Vampire Diaries. I mean, I fallow any supernatural show that discusses any creatures of fantasy, but this universe holds a special place for me.
The same can also be for H2O: Just Add Water. For those amazing golden mermaid tails, to those crazy-epic elemental powers!
Both series hold the same topic: Being a supernatural living amongst humans and how they deal with it, plus their own share of problems.
But another thing in common: They share 2 of the most prominent actresses: Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkins. The former whos’s played an immortal vampire while the other has played (including different series) not only a mermaid, but a witch, a werewolf alpha, and a hybrid (werewolf-vampire).
The Vampire Diaries is about vampires and witches, and towards the end, the Afterlife.
The Originals is about the Original Vampire family, werwolves that can actually keep up with them, and even tougher witches. (And can we talk about how WITCHES basically creates two of the three species?)
And last but not least, Legacies...which is basically going all out in saying all supernatural creatures existed at some point, not just the main three. (Which I LOVE!)
Anyways, because of the similarities and the shared actresses, I’m shocked to see there are very few (good) fanfictions between the two. I mean, the TVD universe effectively has more ground, dept, and with already built-up societies in three main species (witches, vampires, werewolves), it doesn’t mean there isn't something to add.
And that is heavily added with the Legacies series, where supernatural that even the mains one thought were myths, turned out to be TRUE AND VERY MUCH REAL! And thanks to the concept of Malivore, effectively being an amnesia-inducing monster prison mud puddle in the ground, the sky has been the limit. (And if a fairy is canon, mermaids can't be far behind!)
Now, what does that have to to with H2O? Everything.
While also acknowledging Mako Mermaids and H2O: Just Add Water existing in the same universe, there leaves time to let me think about how such creatures could possibly fit in the TVD, even with its death tolls. And I realized that between the plot holes, it’s actually quite simple:
Merpeople are descendants of sea witches that once walked the land.
Just stick with me here, it’s actually quite easy to picture:
Awhile back with @northwizard , we broached this topic and following the TVD Timeline on the Wikia, I found myself creating my own storyline of how it comes to be.
Essentially, witches were always here first. It was just the actions of the very powerful few (Ester, The Hollow) that created vampires and werewolves, right?
Right! So when would the ideas for mermaids (or half-fish people in general) pop up? Easy:
Meet Atargatis, the first mermaid, established as a goddess in Assyria, what's presently northern Syria.
I know what you might be asking: The goddess had two tails. That doesn't fit with H2O or TVD. What's the connection?
Connection: The goddess wasn't a real mermaid, but a very powerful sea witch that had gotten a hold of a lot of sway in position of power. Mermaids never existed, but were more of a totem. An ideal image to be based on, especially around the Mediterranean Sea.
Going back to my previous statement: Witches were here first and only the few powerful ones could create another species. And those species were not created without reason.
What might that reason be? Seline and Sybil aka the Sirens (or in my opinion, Hellhounds in their own right!)
( @northwizard and I hit some plot holes while making this, so don't judge!)
Once upon a time, there was a large abundance of covens that practiced Sea Witchcraft. While having the normal witch capabilities, their magic was mostly elemental and dedicated towards the oceans.
However, Cade (The Devil) unleashed his Sirens onto them, leaving paths of destruction, causing covens to flee across the Mediterranean Sea and meet up with others as they fled to the Arabian Sea, which led off into the oceans. With such a huge mass of this particular witchcraft gathered together and being hunted, in the terms of doing bad to do some good, they practiced Sacrificial Magic and Dark Magic. Praying to sea God's, they washed ashore multiple sea creatures (fish, dolphins, whales, sharks, etc.) and killed them in their sacrifice and successful utilized the dark arts to accept their offerings in acceptance for power.
So when Seline and Sybil came gunning towards them, they used the power of that very Full Moon to inact a powerful spell that would entrap the Sirens deep under the coast and steal their power. Not forever, but long enough.
Though successful, they had overdid it and become too powerful, inadvertently gaining semi-immortality too. In trying to do some good, they had become cursed by the very Oceans they worshipped and found themselves forced to live as the creatures they slaughtered and found themselves scattered into ocean to survive...as Merpeople.
(Stating again: Potential plot holes everywhere, but basics for a good origin.)
And this is where H2O/MAKO would meet with TVD: Cursed witches bounded by Nature in some way, turned into a supernatural species!
Because of the circumstances, merpeople could never walk on land, and those spared the curse, choosing to keep their origins a secret. The mass scattered into different groups in certain parts of the Seas, some of them with different abilities, such as speed swimming, zoolingism (ability to speak the language of the sea creatures), telekinesis and invisibility.
At the very least, they were spared some of their spell casting and potion-making abilities, but verbal spells (latin spells) were lost to them. And their elemental skills were basic as best to the 3 states of matter (Hydrokinesis, Hydro-thermokinesis, Hydro-cryokinesis).
Eventually, they found their curse to be a gift with a deeper connection (and respect) for the ocean. And with that came with Loopholes.
Their covens were now called Pods, like dolphin pods. Their Siren Singing is just as hypnotic as a whale songs, creating a loophole in verbal spells. And by intermarrying with other pods, all presents merpeople shared special abilities. And powerful planetary alignments helped boits their powers back to the weather powers they had previously lost.
And soon, they'd discovered the Moon Pools and the crystals embedded with them, giving them talismans, with knowledge long adopted at Sea, growing stronger day by day.
But alas, there will always be conflict: A merman discovering an almost long-forgotten past with helped developed the Leg Spell, which granted merpeople the legs believed to be long lost.
This started a divide of whether to go back to land, with started a war in which mermen were banished to the land, leading the population to be mostly mermaids (reproduction up for debate).
And it would be a very long time until it would be discovered that the Moon Pools embraced a part of the curse, leading unsuspecting people who are in them during the Full Moons to become merpeople as well...Part-time.
--------------------------------------------------
And with THAT, is the conclusion as to how H2O/MAKO would survive being brought into the TVD universe, especially Legacies, where either a part-time or biological mermaids would fit in!
As stated before, there are a lot of holes to fill in, polish, smooth out, but as a work in progress, it has a lot of potential!
(And what better to wake up the H2O fandom after what I feel is aimless slumbering and scrapping for ideas!)
SO REBLOG AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!!

wash what we know out to sea (2/2)
Summary -   Sanghyuk swims around in circles. The sea around him is as murky as his thoughts and the current rushing against him stings his scales.
Characters - Jaehwan x Sanghyuk, Taekwoon
Warnings - angst with happy ending
Tag List - @tomatoholmes @merlionmen @seraphistols  @k-craze-97 @blossomtearsleo
Part 1 || Series
-
Sanghyuk swims around in circles. The sea around him is as murky as his thoughts and the current rushing against him stings his scales. His tails are a dim blue and the skies above are a dark grey.
It was a clear night when he left the cave with Jaehwan but the weather has taken a turn for the worse. The waves swirl and rise higher and recede lower, lashing back against other waves with a vengeance.
Sanghyuk runs into pieces of algae ripped out of the ground and thrown about in the strong current. He sighs and dives deeper, running into schools of fish that are scurrying about for shelter. A storm is coming and no living thing wishes to be caught in it.
A storm already holds Sanghyuk’s heart in a tight grip and refuses to let it go. His heart sinks with every passing thought in his head and he bites back tears.
Jaehwan. His master, Jaehwan. His best friend, Jaehwan.
How could he curse Taekwoon like that? To send him away, effectively banish him to the world of their dead and render him incapable of returning without great pain.
How could a merman be in love with a man of the sands?
Sanghyuk had seen them aboard the giant machines they called ships.
They had looked so alien and strange. They were weak and fragile, not strong like the true children of the seas. They were cursed, tails combined into weak limbs to crawl across the sands. Their fins ripped out and replaced with weak sacs of air that could kill them if filled with water.
In the name of which murky sea did that make sense? Water was life giving. How could any living thing bear to stay away?
And Taekwoon had gone and fallen in love with one of the cursed creatures.
And Jaehwan had helped him! Fashioned him into one of them and doomed him for life.
Sanghyuk doesn’t know what to do with this knowledge. He should be reporting this to the king of the seas. Discovery of Taekwoon’s identity on land could be dangerous for them all. There are laws for a reason!
If the royal guard catches Taekwoon or Jaehwan then either would be sentenced to death directly and Sanghyuk simply loves them too much to subject them to this fate.
Sanghyuk loves them.
This damning realization is the cause of his stormy feelings. He feels caught in a whirlpool and finds himself sinking deeper and deeper. The realization pulls him down like a strong seaweed tangled along his tail and never letting go.
And as much as he never wants to see Jaehwan again, he wishes Jaehwan was here to help him sort his thoughts out.
-
It's been many lunar cycles since Sanghyuk has seen Jaehwan.
Unsure of the right course of action, Sanghyuk returns to their home in the deep seas. He settles back into the old shipwreck that Jaehwan lived in and runs his apothecary.
Merfolk come and go, some with major injuries requiring immediate attention and some with minor ailments. All of them talk to him pleasantly but cannot help inquire about their favourite sea witch. Where is Jaehwan? When will he return? Has he moved on to a different part of the seas? What is he doing now?
Sanghyuk wishes he had these answers too. But he does his best to maintain a smiling face and lie that Jaehwan is travelling to collect more gems and plants for their potions. He should be back soon.
The shipwreck feels empty without Jaehwan in it. Sanghyuk has always been a silent child while Jaehwan was the talkative one. Most of the merfolk who have heard the story of the sea witch and his upbringing assume that Sanghyuk was the poor merman who grew up in isolation and not Jaehwan.
Sanghyuk misses him.
Sanghyuk misses him. He misses Jaehwan’s voice. He misses the teasing and flirting and how Jaehwan would lapse into thoughtful silence in the middle of a sentence and only emerge from it to say something absolutely unrelated to what they were discussing. He misses his weird food choices and how he talks to fish passing by. Sanghyuk misses the incessant nagging about charging gemstones in the correct times of the lunar cycle.
Gemstones…
Sanghyuk eyes the peridotite that sits in a vial on the shelf by the window in the corner of the caved in portion of the ship. Jaehwan said that it was an important part of the potion but Sanghyuk knows that peridotite is hard to come by in the seas between here and the land Taekwoon lives in.
This fact has been nagging him for many tides now. Did Jaehwan find more elsewhere? What if he searched for more and didn’t find any? Does Taekwoon have more of the potion that lets him stay alive on land? The worry makes Sanghyuk restless. How are Jaehwan and Taekwoon faring now?
He can’t continue living like this. The worry will drive him insane. Sanghyuk can’t spend forever worrying about his friends but he also can’t bring himself to stop.
In retrospect, this must be what prompts him to pick up the vial, pack up the makeshift apothecary and leave in search of answers.
-
Sanghyuk doesn’t expect to run into Taekwoon.
He begins his search with where he last left Jaehwan. He travels back to the shallow waters by the shore he swore never to return to. As he swims by the harbor, trying to avoid being seen by humans, he stumbles across a man seated on rocks that lie far beyond the sand line.
The familiar silhouette propels Sanghyuk forward. If you ignore the legs then Taekwoon looks like sirens from children’s stories. Perched on top of rocks in the middle of the waves, he looks majestic and untouchable. But his friend looks in good shape for a human.
Taekwoon recognizes him by the familiar faint blue glow. Sanghyuk’s tail would always glow blue whenever he came to meet Taekwoon. A sign of happiness, he was told by Jaehwan. Happiness that was reciprocated and still is.
“I didn’t expect to see you here” Taekwoon says first.
“Did Jaehwan tell you everything that happened?” Sanghyuk asks, embarrassed.
“He did” Taekwoon affirms.
“I’m sorry” Sanghyuk apologizes.
“I understand why you were angry at Jaehwan” Taekwoon tells him.
“I still don’t understand why you did it. Was it really worth giving up everything?” Sanghyuk asks him. Taekwoon looks at him and smiles tenderly. It’s a smile that comes with the weight of wisdom behind it.
“Love is like that. It makes us do foolish things” Taekwoon tells him. “But it also opens your eyes to the truths of the universe. I never believed in destiny till I met Hakyeon but once I did, I knew I was meant to love him. I’d make the same choice over and over in every lifetime.”
“I’m… happy that you are happy. I miss you terribly but I am also happy for you” Sanghyuk tells him. To his own surprise, he means it sincerely.
“I missed you too. I thought I might never see you again” Taekwoon confesses.
“I didn’t think I would either” Sanghyuk admits.
“You can’t stay very long. The tide will recede soon and the fishermen will board their ships and set sail for the day” Taekwoon advises. Sanghyuk nods in agreement. The moon has already crossed it’s zenith hours ago. Daybreak will be on them soon.
“If you are here looking for Jaehwan, then you should try swimming south towards Mu. The waters are dangerous but not impossible to navigate for merfolk and he left not too long ago. The lights will guide you” Taekwoon tells him.
“Thank you” Sanghyuk says, almost crying in joy. If he hasn’t missed Jaehwan by much then he will be able to find him soon. The seas down south are rough and there are only a few places he could have gone.
“Take care, dearest friend.”
-
It takes two days of constant swimming to find Jaehwan.
Sanghyuk swims and swims. His tails are sore and the scales on his upper body sting from relentless beating of the strong currents. The waters get deeper and after some point no sunlight penetrated the waters.
Sanghyuk struggles to keep up. The fatigue and the increasing water pressure slow him down considerably. He almost gives up till he sees the rock formations on the seabed give way to deep fissures.
Sanghyuk almost gives up hope till he runs across the glowing lights. Sanghyuk knows of the tiny plants that glow on the ocean floor and occasionally glow to reflect that there is magma on ocean beds nearby. These must be the lights Taekwoon referred to, Sanghyuk thinks.
Sanghyuk follows the lights growing across the fissure. The waters here taste different and leave a funny taste in Sanghyuk's mouth. Though it may be an odd mix of nervousness and anxiety he will concede.
The lights guide him through the fissures to a set of caves. Sanghyuk hesitates in the face of the ominous dark opening but swims in. He swims about, a few strides forward and a few back, moving cautiously and always keeping track of the direction he needs to use to return.
He notices a distinct glow to his left when he swims in a little. He follows it, unsure of where it goes. The cave meanders but ends quickly in a round wall with glowing crystals set in them.
Jaehwan stops moving diametrically opposite him, surprised to see him there.
"Hyukkie" he says, in shock and not quite believing his eyes.
"Master. Jaehwan" Sanghyuk cries out. Relief, happiness and weariness, all wash over him like a tidal wave lashing against the shore in a tsunami. He swims forward and Jaehwan reaches out to catch him as he stumbles, falling into Jaehwan's arms.
"What are you doing here?" Jaehwan asks, holding Sanghyuk securely.
"I came looking for you" Sanghyuk tells him.
"Why?" Jaehwan asks. The "I thought you never wanted to see me again" goes unsaid.
"I…" Sanghyuk says, his words caught in his mouth.
"Your tail is turning pink again" Jaehwan teases with a smile. To Jaehwan who knows Sanghyuk well now, this is indication enough of his true feelings.
"Come back home" Sanghyuk begs him. "Come back home with me."
"Tomorrow. Tonight we must rest. You're in no condition to swim" Jaehwan points out. Sanghyuk's body is not made for this kind of exertion in deep waters and the younger merman knows it.
"Tomorrow" he agrees. He pulls himself away but holds on to Jaehwan's hand as he looks around.
"What are these?" he asks, looking curiously at the glowing crystals.
"Olivine. I've been studying these rocks for quite some time" Jaehwan tells him.
"For Taekwoon's potions?"
Jaehwan nods and continues. "It's a part of peridotite. I was curious to see if the effects changed with pure olivine over peridotite."
"Has Taekwoon tried it?" Sanghyuk inquires.
"He said the potion gave him more energy. He didn't know what I had changed but it seemed to work better with lesser side effects" Jaehwan explains.
"So… he can lead a normal life above the surface?" Sanghyuk asks hopefully. Jaehwan nods in response and he smiles to himself.
"Not just that, I think it could be used for many other medicinal potions in the pure form too. It truly is an amazing discovery" he tells the younger one. Sanghyuk smiles proudly and it's Jaehwan's turn to be shy.
"You aren't mad any longer, are you?" Jaehwan asks, guiding Sanghyuk so they can sit down while leaning against the cave walls. Sanghyuk shakes his head in response before putting his head down on Jaehwan's shoulders.
"When I was searching for you, I met Taekwoon and we talked. The things he said… I guess I just needed to understand his point of view" Sanghyuk admits.
"He truly loves Hakyeon" Jaehwan tells him and Sanghyuk nods in agreement. The movement sends tingles through Jaehwan's body.
"I think I'll need time to get used to all of this" Sanghyuk confesses.
"Take all the time you need" Jaehwan says. Sanghyuk hums in response before closing his eyes.
As he drifts off to sleep, he catches faint hazy notes of Jaehwan humming a lullaby and thinks of how everything has changed. His world turned upside down but still remaining the same. Everything he knows and believes, washed out in the waves of change that advance and recede just out of reach.

Pink Camellias
Merman!Seokjin x Reader
Author: Admin Mo Word Count: 2,803 Genre: Fluff, Fantasy!AU
Tumblr media
Jin sat in the fountain in the courtyard of Magus, watching the supernatural creatures walking to and from classes about the strange and magical world they lived in. He had the day off, and as he did most days, he sat in the shallow waters, his iridescent pink tail hanging over the edge and a shell-covered mirror gripped in one of his hands.
His irises glimmered as he looked over his reflection, carefully adjusting the soft brown hair on top of his head and rubbing some salt water on the scales on his forehead and cheekbones to make them sparkle. He was hoping, praying that maybe they would catch the glance of a certain-
“Hey there, Ariel.” You sat on the edge of the fountain with two lunches in paper bags. “I brought peanut butter and jelly.”
“Thank you, (Y/N).” He shook the water off of his hand and opened the bag you slid to him. “How was your day?”
“It was okay. Everyone’s talking about that stupid cotillion.” You rolled your eyes and shook your head. Of course, the one person you wanted to go to the dance with didn’t have legs. “I don’t even want to go at this point.”
“You should go. It’ll be fun.”
“What, and leave you in your dorm all alone? Nah. Doesn’t sound like very much fun.” You took a bite of your sandwich, muffling your words. “I could buy a kiddie pool and we could hang out in my dorm. It’s practically a greenhouse in there, so you wouldn’t dry out.”
“Tempting.” He grinned. “Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to mess with sirens?”
“Well, my mother is Persephone, so the only person she told me to stay away from is the demon at the front gate of the underworld.”
“Interesting.”
“And besides, you’re not a siren.” You reached out and pushed his soft lip aside, revealing teeth like a human’s instead of teeth like a shark. It was the telltale sign. They both had beautiful voices, beautiful faces, but sirens existed only to tempt. Only to kill. Only to betray those who were stupid enough to fall in love with them. No, Jin was no siren. He was a mermaid. And a handsome one at that. “You’re a merman.”
“And you’re a goddess.” He murmured, completely captivated by the way your finger gently brushed against his lip.
“Demi-goddess.” You chimed. You felt something creeping up your ankle and looked down at the flowers steadily taking form.
“What are you growing today?” He chuckled. This happened sometimes when you got lost in thought. It was like the world was trying to tell you something, or rather, your powers over plants and nature were working to reveal your true emotions. Your only saving grace was that Jin, as a creature of the sea, didn’t speak the language of the flowers.
“By the looks of it, Gardenia.” You identified the white flowers as more sprouted up. “And Pink Camellia.” Of course. Secret Love and Longing for You. The flowers formed a ring, so you lifted it off of the ground and set it in his soft brown locks. “There. Now you’re a flower prince too.”
“What do they mean?” he asked curiously. “Don’t flowers have meanings or something?”
“Oh…” Your cheeks flushed pink. “I’m not really sure. I’ll have to look it up later.”
“Tell him.” The flowers on his head whispered. “Tell him you love him.”
But you ignored them, instead refocusing on your lunch and the flecks of gold swimming around his brown irises. God, did he have to be so handsome? Jin, with his broad shoulders and the voice of an angel; a face that would make sculptors weep at the sight of true beauty, perfectly crafted by Poseidon.
“You should wear this. To the cotillion.” He was holding out a string of pearls. “I think it’d go with your dress.” He was right.
“Are you sure?” You asked, but to answer, Jin just took your smaller hands in his own and curled your fingers around the necklace.
“Positive. Go. For me. Please?”
“Okay.” You agreed. “Fine. I will.”
“Good.” He smiled and your heart leapt.
Daffodils coiled around your wrists and you jumped, looking at them. ~The Sun Is Always Shining When I’m With You. Good lord, if these fricking flowers didn’t leave you alone…
Jin laughed his windshield-wiper laugh. You were convinced he had spent too much time with the dolphins and maybe that was why he laughed like that. But it only made you love him more.
“I have to go. I have a test in Herbology.” You gathered your things, handing Jin the flowers. “But I’ll see you on Sunday.”
“Thanks for lunch. And send me pictures. I want to see how beautiful you look tomorrow.”
An explosion of Red Camellias sprang up around the fountain, further flustering you. ~You’re A Flame In My Heart.
“I will.” You nodded. “Bye Jin.”
“Bye.” He waved as you walked away, his brown eyes lingering on your ever-shrinking form as you walked through the courtyard and into the greenhouse. Oh, what he wouldn’t do to have legs. Hmm...That gave him an idea…
***
“Yoongi?” Jin was swimming in his large tank in his and Yoongi’s shared dorm later that evening, his pink tail swishing through the clear waters. His chin was resting in his hands, elbows propped up on the top of the glass enclosement. “You know how I never ask you for anything ever?”
“Why do I have a feeling you need something?” The tired warlock groaned, stirring the potion he was just finishing brewing. He ladled the green liquid into a bottle and put out the fire under his cauldron with a flick of his wrist.
“Well, the cotillion is tomorrow, so I was wondering if maaaaaaaybe-”
“Let me guess; you want legs?”
“Yes…” The merman admitted.
“Ughhhhhh…” Yoongi wiped the sleep out of his eyes and took a long sip of his coffee, preparing for yet another all-nighter. “You’re lucky I like you.”
***
You remembered the day you first met Jin. You were walking through the courtyard, a map of the school in your hands and a lost expression on your face when you heard the voice coming from the fountain.
“Do you need help?” He asked kindly, leaning over the edge, his hands still dripping with water.
“I do, actually. I’m pretty lost-” And when you looked up at him, Gloxinia tickled at your ankles. ~Love At First Sight.
You knew you were screwed right then and there. From the time you were a young girl and your father, a human botanist, had pulled you into his lap to study flowers and their meanings, nature began to talk to you, both figuratively and literally. They would whisper to you when you wore them in your hair, compliment you when you spritzed them with water or got rid of the wicked weeds rooted in the garden.
And now that you were in love with a merman, they were relentless.
“Tell him how you feeeeeeeeeel~” They sang as you put on your dress for the cotillion. Maybe wearing a crown of them was a bad idea, but when another ring of Gardenias and Pink Camellias sprung up, you couldn’t resist how well they looked with the floral gown you had picked.
“I can’t do that. He doesn’t feel the same way.”
“You don’t know until you tryyyyyy~”
“Could you please be quiet?” You begged. And they respected your wishes, quieting down as you reached for the necklace Jin had given you and fastened the clasp behind your neck. You looked in your reflection. You did look beautiful. Jin was right. But you wished he was here.
You shook your head and snapped a picture, sending it to him as you had promised you would. He sent back a reply in a few seconds.
*Truly stunning*
You almost weren’t surprised when the Red Camellias sprang up.
***
“Look at her. She’s stunning.” Jin handed his phone to Hoseok, his favorite Leprechaun, who had just taken his growth pill and was now standing much higher than his usual six inches.
“And she’s all yours, whether she knows it or not.”
“I wish.”
“Hey. Careful with that word.” Jungkook, the half-dragon and former genie pointed at the merman, his orange eyes glinting with the memories of hundreds of wishes. “That’s a powerful word.”
“We get it, we get it, you used to be a genie. Chill.” Yoongi batted a tired hand and handed Jin the bottle of the potion he had spent all night brewing. “Drink up, my friend. But, you should know that there are side effects and conditions…”
“Hmm?” The bottle was already against his lips, the purple liquid making its way down his throat. He opened his mouth to ask something more, but no sound came out. His eyes widened and he held his neck.
“Yep. That would be one of them.” Yoongi looked up at the merman.
Jin gripped the edge of the tank as a burning sensation tore through his tail. It split in half, and his fins took on a new shape, heels and toes taking the place of the pink flippers. Thankfully, the potion had also allotted him a pair of briefs, or things in the dorm would have gotten very awkward very fast.
He vaulted over the glass wall and landed on the wooden floor in a soaking wet half-naked heap. His wide shoulders heaved a few times as he sat there, looking over the strange new limbs. He had so many toes. And his feet were...feet. Like, real human feet. He stood up, but his new legs wobbled like jello and he stumbled into Hoseok, who was laughing at the ordeal.
“Okay, so, you can’t talk.” Yoongi pulled out the scroll and his eyes widened. “Aishhhhh, why did I keep them so close together?!”
“What did you do to him?” Jungkook asked, concern ablaze in his fiery eyes.
“So, this is the older spell. The uh, the bad one. Okay, so you’ve gotta get her to kiss you. But you have three days. It’s fine. I believe in you.”
‘I have to WHAT?!’ Jin mouthed, the look on his face doing more than enough to display his shock.
“We’ve got your back.” Jungkook hopped up to the occasion and struck a pose, but even the half-dragon’s playful antics didn’t put the wobbly merman at ease.
Jin inhaled a deep breath. He had a feeling tonight was going to be a little more than he had bargained for.
***
You were sitting at the fountain in the courtyard, hoping that maybe Jin would be there, but he wasn’t. You knew he wouldn’t be. He was definitely in his dorm. But you thought...well, you just had to make sure.
So, after sitting there for a few minutes, you stood up, straightened your skirt, and started walking to the pavilion they were holding the cotillion in. Someone tapped on your shoulder just before you reached the entrance, where the tall wooden structure was wrapped in fairy lights.
You turned to face...Jin? He smiled sheepishly, holding a little plastic box with a corsage in it. You couldn’t get enough of him, standing there in his nice suit with a tie that matched your dress.
“You’re here.”
He nodded.
“On legs.”
He nodded again. You waited for him to say something, but he simply poked at his throat and shook his head. You remembered the mortal fairytales your father read to you as a child. Among them, one about a mermaid who traded her voice for the things Jin was currently standing on.
“For me?” You whispered, the crack in your voice giving way to how you were truly feeling.
Jin nodded and wrapped the corsage around your wrist, bringing your hand to his lips and leaving a gentle kiss there.
“Oh, Jin…” You pulled him into your arms and he held you tight, not taking this for granted for one second.
His smile was blinding and before you could say or do anything else, he tugged you onto the dancefloor, spinning you around like he had always seen the mortals do. He was awkward on legs. You could definitely tell it was his first night using them, but he still had fun, even if you couldn’t hear his beautiful laugh or his angelic voice. Maybe missing something was the only way to really appreciate how much it meant to you. And you did miss his voice. A lot.
When it started to get dark and the songs started to get slower, you led Jin out to the gazebo in the grass. It was illuminated with leftover Christmas lights and little lanterns and candles. Simple, but sweet, and as warm as the feelings swimming around your heart.
Jin pulled you close, kissing your forehead. You rested your head against his chest and exhaled a long breath, soaking up his warmth like a sponge. You were so absorbed that you didn’t even notice the mistletoe steadily creeping up the sides of the gazebo until a single strand dangled from the roof.
The merman looked up, his eyes widening. Flowers and plants did have meanings, he realized. And this one meant ‘Kiss Me’. He gently nudged you and motioned up. Your cheeks flushed bright red in embarrassment, cursing the flowers that always seemed to sprout from your emotions. Jin may not have spoken flower language, but everyone knew what this plant meant.
“I am so sorry.” You apologized. “It happens all the time and I didn’t want to tell you what they meant because I didn’t want to creep you out, but...”
You stopped talking when you noticed Jin take a little breath, closing his eyes and slowly leaning down. He wanted to kiss you too. He. Wanted. To. Kiss. You. Too.
‘Kiss himmmmmmmm~’ The mistletoe hissed. ‘Kiss himmmmm~’
So you did. His lips crashed onto yours like waves onto the shore, tenderly caressing yours. His hands settled on your hips, pulling you closer as you tangled your fingers in his soft brown locks.
It was perfect. Until he let out a little yelp and fell over with a loud thud, his pink tail having reemerged and replaced his legs. He laid there, leaning on his elbows, laughing louder than you had ever heard him laugh before.
“Oops.” He shrugged his broad shoulders, unable to do much more than sit there while you knelt down beside him. He brushed the hair out of your face and looked at the flowers sitting on top of your head, softly asking, “So what do they mean?”
“Gardenias mean ‘Secret Love’.” You admitted, cheeks darkening. “And Pink Camellias are ‘Longing for You’.”
“And the yellow ones?”
“Yellow ones?” You asked. Jin pointed to the new flowers sprouting from behind your ear. You pulled them off to look, a soft smile spreading over your features. He smiled too, stars gleaming in his warm brown gaze.
“Ambrosia. It means...it means you love me back.”
“Well, they’re not lying, are they?” He reached out and gently stroked your cheek, leaning in for more.
“I brought mistletoe!” Jungkook ran onto the gazebo, and then looked down at Jin, who had definitely kissed you already or he wouldn’t have his tail.
“I handled it.” Jin told the half-dragon, tilting his head in a way that said ‘get out’.
“Right. Okay. I’ll let the others know.” Jungkook tried to hide the giant grin that found his face, realizing what this meant. Jin had finally done it. He had finally confessed to you. Or maybe the other way around.
“What was that about?” You chuckled.
“Well, I almost ended up as sea foam, but it all worked out.” He looked at you for a reaction, and boy did he get one.
Your eyes widened and the color drained from your face. “Oh my gods, why would you do something like that?! Why...why would you risk that?”
“It was an accident, I promise. Yoongi mixed up the scrolls.” He tried to be reassuring, but in all honesty, he hadn’t known there was another spell they could have used. He thought it was seafoam or nothing, and he was still willing to risk it.
“Jin…” You took his hand in yours. “Please promise me next time we’ll just talk to eachother instead of putting your life on the line.”
“I promise.” He nodded and pulled you down for another kiss. “But um, I’m kind of stuck here until we can get Yoongi to summon a wagon or something.”
You set your flower crown on the ground next to you and laid down beside him, letting him wrap an arm around your waist. “There’s no one I’d rather be stuck with.”

With one final grunt of effort, Binda flopped onto her belly and sighed in contentment.  Creating the perfect resting spot took more fussing than a mama sea turtle digging a nest for her eggs, but it was worth it!  The gentle hill of sand she had studiously constructed curved her spine into a gentle arch as she pillowed her face on her crossed arms.  Sheltered here from the currents, Binda smiled as she felt herself sink into a welcome nap.
It was damn hard to get any peace with those two around.
“Bee!”
Damnit.
“Maybe she’s not here, Dean.”
“Nah, Cas said he followed her here.”
DAMNIT!  Binda growled as their voices echoed above her.  She should have known those dumb gobies wouldn’t leave her be.  She also should have known that nosy codfish was going to tail her.
“C’mon, Bee, come out, come out, wherever you are!”
Maybe if she just kept quiet, they’d go away...a clam dropped onto her head and frantically skittered away.
“Ow!” she squawked, flopping upright and glaring upwards as she rubbed the sore spot.
“Hiya, princess!”  Bright green eyes glinted down at her above Dean’s trademark smirk.  Sam drifted into view, his gaze apologetic, as both brothers blocked out the sunlight drifting into her precious coral cave.  Luckily, her gargantuan brothers were too big to fit through the opening.
“I tried to stop him, Binda.”
“Obviously not hard enough,” she grumbled as she plunked herself back onto the sand.  The poor terrorized clam was struggling to bury itself, and Binda crooned to it soothingly as she sluiced a handful of sand on top of it.
“Aw, don’t be like that, Bumblebee.”
The childhood nickname grated on her already raw nerves.  “It’s ‘Binda’, Dean.  Go away.”
A chunk of dead coral thunked on her head next, getting tangled in her gypsum-white hair.  Days of being pestered, bedeviled, and hounded suddenly burned like sand in a fresh coral scrape.  Binda snarled, a snap of her tail shooting her straight to the cave’s mouth.  The groans from both her brothers as her skull slammed into their noses was worth the sudden headache.
“What. Do. You. WANT?” she roared into their faces.
“Great Whites, Binda, what the hell?” Dean groused, rubbing between his eyes gingerly.
“I didn’t even do anything this time,” her taller brother whined from behind his hands.
“Sorry, Sam,” she huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.  “Seriously, just leave me alone, guys!  What’s a girl gotta do to get some peace and quiet?”
“Calm your clam shells, toots.  Geez,  Binda, are you heading into your egg-laying season?”
Red.  She literally saw red.  Dean literally never saw her right hook coming.
“Son of a bitch!” Blood ribboned into the water from Dean’s nose as Binda turned to glare at Sam.
“Don’t look at me! Chasing you was his idea!” Sam yelped, his gold-striped grouper tail scrambling him backwards.
Binda ignored him, stabbing one slim pointer finger towards her brothers.  “You two listen to me!  If you follow me, I will harpoon you in the Amazon in the middle of a piranha colony!”  Infuriated beyond belief, Binda spun and waved her powerful tail, surging away from them.  “And don’t think I won’t do it!”
Weaving amid flurries of fish, Binda ignored Sam’s shout as she swam away.  It’s not that she didn’t love her big brothers; she did, truly.  With their mother gone and their father always away, they’d practically raised her.  From the first toddling flip of her dorsal fin, her brothers had been there for her through it all.  No mermaid in all the seven seas ever had better brothers.
They were always there for her.  Really.  Always frickin’ there.
If it wasn’t Dean needling her to go treasure hunting, Sam had his latest scroll he just couldn’t wait to share.  They were there in the mornings, eating her favorite North Pacific krill.  They were there to swim her home after her lessons, glaring off any cute mermen she even blinked at.  They were there in the evenings, arguing over which lagoon to hit for dinner.  As much as she loved them, Binda felt like she couldn’t breathe sometimes with how always...there...Sam and Dean were.
Distracted by her thoughts and frustrations, Binda didn’t check the corner before banking around a coral outcropping and plowed headfirst into something.
Someone, actually.
The someone in question flailed backwards at the force of their collision, straight into a swarm of visiting electric eels.  The alarmed critters sputtered and thrashed, snapping great sparks into the unsuspecting soul thrust into their midst.  Binda shrieked, darting forward and grasping a wrist to yank him out of the spitting, arcing tangle.  The merman collided heavily into her, his face smashing into the curve of her neck and shoulder.  Hissing with displeasure, the eels hurried on their way.
Gasping to catch a breath, Binda leaned back just as the mystery merman did.  She found herself snared by a pair of astonishingly blue eyes.
“Castiel?” she asked dazedly.  The merman straightened and moved away, rotating his shoulders a bit stiffly.
“That was unpleasant,” he rumbled in that deep voice.
“Oh, my gosh, Cas!  Are you okay?”  Binda’s gaze flitted over him, searching for injuries.
“I’ve sustained no permanent damage.”
“What are you even doing here?” she quizzed the merman, her brows twitching with confusion.
“I, uh -” the dark-haired mer glanced downwards, rubbing the back of his neck a bit sheepishly.  “I followed you.”
Binda’s eyes popped open at the remark.  “You followed me?”  Exasperated anew, Binda flung her arms up.  “Of course you did!  Everyone follows me!”
Cas cocked his head to the side, squinting at her.  “I do not think everyone follows you, Binda.  There are many species in our cove who aren’t…” His voice dwindled off when the mermaid levelled a hard glare in his direction.  “Nevermind.”
“Oh!  What is it with you mermen?!  Can’t you leave me alone for even a second?” Frustration rolled off the maid in waves, and Cas couldn’t help but stare.  The current washed around them just so, billowing her white, waist-length locks around her in tantalizing tendrils.  Her gorgeous tail, the bright gold and orange of a fan goldfish, gleamed about her in delicate, flowing fronds.  It reminded him of the fancy dress adorning a human woman he’d seen on a distant shore long ago.  Her green eyes, different from her oldest brother’s, shone brighter than any anemone, like a gem he’d spied in a wreckage.  Practical soldier though he was, Cas was convinced Binda’s smiling gaze could soften the hardest of hearts.
That gaze wasn’t smiling at him now.
“I’m sorry, Binda.”
“No, you’re not!”  She advanced at him, wagging a finger under his nose.  “If you were sorry, you wouldn’t have told those two yahoo brothers of mine where I was!  For carp’s sake, Castiel!  You three are gonna be the death of me!”  Her ire growing with each moment, Binda began swimming a line in front of Cas, arms gesticulating wildly.  “When I wake up, there they are!  When I go out, there you are!  I can’t even go browsing for new top shells alone!  Can’t I, just once, have a moment to myself?  Have something that’s only mine that I don’t have to share?”
“I just...”
“What, Castiel?  Just - what?”
“I just....want to make sure you’re safe.”  With those words, all the ire drained out of her like air out of a puffer fish.  This amazing, strong, handsome merman wanted to make sure she was safe.  Binda would be lying if she said her heart didn’t flutter about the serious Castiel.  While the other mermaids fawned over Dean’s vivid green and black cichild scales, or Sam’s bright gold stripes, Castiel’s midnight blue and black betta tail had always caught her eye.  Different from any other mer, Cas possessed an extra set of fins separate from his tail.  Thin, nearly translucent, the two long slender fins hung from his shoulders like wings.  Chest muscles she’d blushingly admired bore an intricate tracery of gold in some ancient script - Enochian, Binda had heard Sam call it once.
Yes, Castiel was altogether quite the catch, pardon the phrase.  But it was his quiet, gentle presence Binda most enjoyed.  He often joined her as she tended the Pearl Reef, sometimes sitting with her as she rested in the quiet away from the busy-ness of cove life.  He’d point out some bright flag of seaweed that made a picturesque splash against the rocks, or tell her about the seahorse hatchlings he’d seen the day before.  Binda had always hoped she might catch affection in his gaze one day..
But his gaze held only duty, just like always.
Binda’s shoulders sagged at the thought.  It wasn’t Cas’ fault, really.  Her father or her brothers had probably told him to keep an eye on her.  Trying for nonchalant and failing, Binda drug up a half-assed smile for the merman.
“It’s alright, Castiel.  I’m sorry for yelling.  I think I’ll head on home now.  I’ll see you later.”  With a wave of her side fins in farewell, Binda took herself off for the family caves.
Castiel sighed, brow creased in frustration as he watched her go.  This wooing was much more difficult than he anticipated.  He didn’t dare ask Sam or Dean for advice.  He needed help from someone who wouldn’t laugh at him.  And he knew just the one!
In a flurry of blue-black fins, Castiel took off for the friendliest corner of the cove.
Curled up under a large network of seaweed fronds, Binda lay quietly, staring up at the surface.  The sun above shimmered like hammered silver in fleeting glimpses between the leaves.  She huffed a sigh as she rolled to her side, twitching when something tickled her.  One, then two, then five little pink seahorses poked their wee heads up above her fins.  Binda smiled as she held out her hand to let them weave between her fingers playfully.
The boys had mercifully left her alone, and Binda had it in her heart to feel bad.  Almost.  At least for making Dean bleed. Although, she wasn’t going to waste the peace and quiet gifted to her.  And if her smile looked a bit mopey - well, her peace and quiet were the only ones there to see.
“Shhh!”  The muffled sound barely caught her attention, but it did that of the seahorses.  The little creatures bobbed forward curiously, and Binda waved herself upright.
“Hello?” she called out.
“Uhhh…” Binda would know that confusion anywhere.
“Castiel?”  She swam a bit higher to see over the seaweed; the merman seemed to be hunched weirdly backwards, like his anal fin was caught in his wings or something.  “Are you alright?”
“I - I consulted Garth about my quandary,” he spouted out, his cheeks a bit flushed with...what?
“Oh.  What quandary?  Can I help?” Binda asked, her eyes tinged with concern as she swam nearer.
“No.  Yes.  I - I -” The poor mer couldn’t seem to make up his mind; the expression on his face looked like he might spontaneously combust.  Was he ill?  He suddenly lurched, his features contorting in discomfort.
“Cas, did those eels hurt you?  Let me see!”  Binda demanded, approaching him determinedly.
“No!  Uh - this is for you!”  The poor soul looked almost green as he thrust something into her arms.  Binda’s arms instinctively closed around it, and the mass came alive as it wriggled and whined and…licked?
The merpup was all white, fur soft as the sand from a place called Puerto Rico her father once visited.  His gleaming scales were iridescent green, showing hints of blue and purple in the light.  And the black eyes that looked up at her had her falling in love in a heartbeat.
“Oh!” she exclaimed, cuddling the little pup under her chin.  Her happy laughter splashed out when sweet puppy kisses found her jaw and cheek.  “Oh, Castiel, thank you!”
“Please accept this canine as a token of my affection for you.”  Castiel thought he spoke out loud but he wasn’t sure.  His heart was pounding so hard with nerves, he honestly thought he might throw up, but Binda’s blinding smile distracted his queasiness.
At Castiel’s mumbled proclamation, Binda’s heart skipped and skipped again.  Without thinking, she wrapped an arm around those broad shoulders and smushed a happy kiss to his lips.  A spark that had nothing to do with any eels leapt between the two, painting matching flushes on both faces.
“Th-thank you, Cas, I accept!” Binda managed to stammer out.
“That’s...reassuring to hear.”  Binda’s smile widened as Castiel’s shoulders sagged with relief.  The pup continued to whine happily, yipping as he craned his head to swipe more kisses on Binda’s face.  “I don’t know how much peace and quiet you’ll find with him”
“Peace and quiet are overrated!  What should we call him?” she cooed, reaching up to scratch the little ears.
“Garth said his name is Mr. Fizzles.  Which I find confusing because this canine emits no effervescence of any kind.”
Pure delight echoed in the chuckles Binda couldn’t hold in, and she beckoned the merman with a bob of her head as she cradled the merpup closer.
“Come on!  Let’s get him settled!”
Snared by that blinding smile, all for him, Castiel couldn’t help but follow.  The two spent a lovely hour getting Mr. Fizzles comfortable, and Binda eagerly waited for her brothers to return home so she could show him off.  Her pup and her Castiel.

Those eight years - Mermaid! AU (Rin Matsuoka X Reader)
Here’s that Rin Matsuoka x Reader I was telling you about ;) Please let me know what you think of this because it’s actually my first attempt at an AU, if you want a part 2 or maybe even an extended series, let me know?
This also serves as a little bit of an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY RINRIN!
3612 words
Angst to fluff then back to angst. Enjoy my lovlies, hope everyone has a wonderful week and I’ll be trying to catch up on matchups and stuff over the weekend since I’ve had mock exams all this week and next week but after next week we’ll be back in business ;)
[PART 2]
By the darkness of night the waves appeared black crashing against the unstable fishing boat that was unluckily miles away from view of any shore, small hands were clutching at the metal railing of the rickety metal boat, a boat that had earlier been described as a death trap- the statement seeming to be coming true as the boat was rocked violently by the unforgiving ocean.
The events of earlier that day played in the young girl’s mind, it was sunny and bright, but a few white clouds floating in the perfectly blue skies. “Come on, little fish! It’s prime fishing conditions…sort of, the ocean is calm, we might even see some dolphins…” A much older man tried convincing his little girl to take to the seas with him for the first time but much to his displeasure, the girl refused, “But dad! I’m scared, I don’t know how to swim, what if there’s a storm or something and I die?!” The little girl shouted waving her hands about frantically, her little eight year old mind running at a mile a minute. The older man, her father, leaned down to her level and placed his big hands on her small shoulders “There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of, in life there’s always going to be things that scare you but if you never pursue them your fear will only grow and we don’t want that now do we, little fish?” (E/c) eyes stared down at the floor and the little girl, (Y/n) was her name, shook her head before looking back into the same colured eyes of her father, a pout present on her face, “Fine, I’ll go on board your death trap.”  At this her father had smiled, neither him nor his daughter knew what the night would have in store.
“Dad!” Her voice was small and almost lost to the waves which she peered into urgently, her father had been sent overboard trying to stabilize the boat only minutes ago. The girl was scared, terror pounding through her blood as she recalled one of the many things both her and her father held in common, they both couldn’t swim.
Her mouth released a loud gasp when a shadow loomed over her, a wave, the biggest wave she had ever seen, quickly approached the girl as if it was a monster that planned to swallow her whole, and to an extent it was just that. (Y/n) screamed for help, hoping maybe something would hear her that maybe she could escape the watery grave that was sure to await her in a matter of seconds, but, the day’s theme seemed to be anything but luck.
The monstrous wave crashed over the boat, tipping it over and plunging the girl into the dark and cold ocean, acting on instinct she screamed for help, an action that caused water to enter into her lungs causing panic to mix with her terror and her actions to become more rushed. Her arms and legs thrashed violently trying to break the surface as she could no longer breath, although under water, her body kept attempting to intake air making her lungs fill up with the salty waters of the sea, her tears joining the ocean in it’s endeavor to send the eight year old to a cold eternal sleep. After fifteen seconds that felt like fifteen hours had passed her movement began to cease and ever so slowly she began to sink, the pain had turned to numbness and the little girl felt tired, a sleep would be nice was all she could think. Once her now dull (E/c) eyes started to drop she felt arms wrap around her waist, probably some sort of angel there to take her away to somewhere pretty, the thought soothed the child and so she let go, she let her eyes close as if simply falling asleep, and then, her world went dark.
Unknown to her the arms holding her were not that of an angel, no, the short arms belonged to a young ocean dweller, a merman if you would, a little bit older than the girl he was holding, around nine years of age. His mother had told him to ignore the sounds coming from the surface, that they would soon go away when the ocean was satisfied and he tried, he did, but there was something about the girl who was thrashing violently that he couldn’t ignore. His shark tail pushing through the water faster than it ever had before in hopes of getting the girl to the shore of the nearest island. It had only taken him a minute to get to the island and he wasted no time in pulling the girl out of the ocean, pulling himself with her until they were a safe distance from the rough waters, the boy pulled a strangely shaped bottle filled with strangely coloured liquid out of the brown cloth satchel he wore over his shoulder and tilted the human girl onto her side, removing the cork he held it to her lips and tipped the contents in slowly.
Sounds of coughing filled the empty island when (Y/n)’s eyes opened suddenly and all the water she had swallowed exited her lungs the colour of the strange liquid mixing with it in the brown rain matted sand, she took a huge breath before looking over her shoulder and coming face to face with the maroon haired boy who had saved her life.
“Am I dead?” Her usually soft voice was gravelly and filled with uncertainty, the boy only shook his head “No, you were drowning but I got you out and gave you a potion so the water would leave your lungs, you almost died but you’re okay.” Her eyes filled with tears “…my dad? Did you see him?” The boy’s face fell as a familiar feeling settled in his chest, “I’m sorry, you were the only person there.” A loud squeaky sob escaped her throat as tears fell down her face “he…he couldn’t swim…” Again the boy felt his heart break inside of his chest, he knew what is was like to lose a father, cautiously he pulled himself into a sitting position beside the girl and wrapped his arms around her shaking frame. (Y/n) excepted his affection, leaning into it.
“Who are you? What are you?” She asked in a quiet voice her eyes focused on his grey tail. “My name is Rin and I’m a merman, my family are decent from sharks which is why my tail looks like a shark, who are you?” (Y/n)’s eyes were wide with shock, she wasn’t sure what she expected, he did have a tail after all, not to mention shark like teeth.
“My name is (Y/n), I’m a human… I didn’t know mer-people really existed, but, thank you for helping me.” Rin gave her a smile, showing his shark teeth while pulling his arms away from (Y/n), said girl shivered desperately in the cold air.
“A-are you okay? I’m sorry I’ve never saved anybody before, the sirens usually make sure all the sailors are with them, you’re really lucky they didn’t want you, otherwise this conversation wouldn’t be happening.” (Y/n) nodded slightly “I’m just cold but I’ll be okay, did…did the sirens- did they take my dad?” Her voice shook toward the end, Rin’s face set in a frown and kicked himself, regretting bringing up the sirens in the first place, “I don’t know but the only thing around was your ship and you, I heard singing before you appeared, so it could be, I- I’m really sorry…I lost my dad too.” (Y/n) stayed silent until she had another question “What do I do now? I can’t swim” Rin offered her a small smile “I can bring you home but we’ll have to wait until morning if the sirens are still around, they’d probably try to recruit you.” (Y/n) tilted her head “What would happen to me then?”
Rin looked out into the ocean “Depends on you really, they find young girls, teens usually, they go for the sad ones, the type who cry along the shore at night, they tell them they can be anything they have ever wanted to be, that they can get revenge on the world that was against them, if they do they either become sirens, dangerous spirits that lure sailors to their deaths, spellsingers which lure lost and lonely sailors to islands with either good or bad intentions, I don’t really know what it is they do, my mom says she’ll tell me when I’m older. The last thing they could become is a shipsaver, these are nice sirens, they help sailors navigate through rocky waters. There are weatherworkers too but they’re super rare.”
(Y/n) nodded, intrigued with what Rin was telling her, in what seemed like minutes of the two children telling of their different cultures the sun began to rise and true to his word, Rin brought (Y/n) home, agreeing to meet her on the shore that night, the pair had built a strong friendship in the hours they had known each other, (Y/n)’s mother would surely call her insane, blame Rin on the water in her lungs and trauma of losing her father, and even so, if Rin was a hallucination, he was one she welcomed.
Rain poured heavily on the umbrella’s surface as the girl stood holding her mothers hand underneath the black material that was designed to keep her dry, it was too bad that the umbrella couldn’t protect her face from the tears she was shedding. It was the day of her father’s funeral and the weather surely matched the feeling everybody present was conveying, (Y/n)’s father was a respectable man, loved among the community and known as a devoted family man, a man who deserved more than just an empty coffin being buried in his name. The events of the past days had (Y/n)’s mother finding her only daughter washed up and passed out on the shore with her husband and his boat, nowhere to be seen. (Y/n) was held in hospital for two days due to hypothermia, police sat at her bedside and questioned her for the majority of her stay, the girl had told them everything, about Rin saving her and the sudden storm that required him to do so. Upon mention of the young merman a police officer had patted her shoulder and told her worried mother that the boy was merely a coping mechanism for the little girl who had witnessed her father drown.
As slowly as it felt, time began to pass, night after night (Y/n) would visit the beach and simply sit in a shaded cove that was out of the view of passers by, a cove that required taking your shoes off and walking through the ankle deep current to enter, the interior was beautiful, stalactites hung from the ceiling and sparkled in the moonlight that was reflected by the ocean, sand covered the ground, posing a safe spot to sit away from the cold waves, (Y/n) loved it there, but, what she loved more about it was the boy who met with her there each night.
It has been three years now since the accident had happened, (Y/n) and Rin visited each other every night and the night of (Y/n)’s eleventh birthday was no different, (Y/n) sat in the sandy cove awaiting the young Matsuoka to arrive and after about ten minutes had passed, his smiley face popped up from out of the water “Happy birthday, (N/n)! Sorry I’m late, I have something for you!”
A smile mirroring the boy’s appeared on her face as she helped the half shark onto the sandy shore, “A present? What is it?” She asked excitedly trying to peer into the brown satchel she had come accustomed to him wearing for the past three years, “Close your eyes!” Rin had insisted and waited for his best human friend to follow his orders before pulling the gift he had gotten for her out of his tattered satchel. It was simplistic but still very beautiful, a silver chain necklace with a small white pearl attached delicately in the middle, though it was beautiful, the sentiment behind the gift was far more breath taking. “You can open your eyes now” He had told her softly smiling when the girl let out an audible gasp at the sight of the necklace, she took it gently into her hand examining the pearl “Rin.. It’s amazing where did you get it?”
“The pearl is a mermaid tear, my dad’s actually, when you’re a mermaid or a merman even sometimes a siren, if you fall in love with a human you can take a potion to give you legs and live with them on the surface or they can take one to become a mermaid and live under the sea but if a mermaid takes it each step on land they take until they find their love is more painful than the last and their tears turn to pearls. My mom was a human, her and my dad fell in love but she had to leave one day, so my dad took the potion and went to the surface to find her, the mer-people told him that if he found her, and if she agreed, he could have his tail back and my mom could live with him under the sea, long story short he found her and she became a mermaid. Anyway, my dad kept the tears and gave one to me and one to my little sister, he told us to think of his story and that when the time comes we’d know what to do with it and now I do…” Rin took the necklace from the girls hands and unclasped it, wrapping it around her neck and securing it, “I got it enchanted by my friend Makoto’s mom, she’s a sea witch, now whenever you’re wearing it you won’t be effected by the voice of any siren.” (Y/n) smiled so brightly looking to her little friend, “Thank you, Rin.”
“It’s so pretty, I promise I’ll never take it off!”
And she didn’t. More years went on and the bond the two shared stayed strong, even grew stronger, until the winters night Rin arrived at the cove that became their exclusive spot to find (Y/n) staring wistfully out at the dark ocean, tears coating her face. It definitely was not his favorite look on the now sixteen year old girl. “Why the sad face?” He was answered with a throaty sob from the girl as she curled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her knees. His eyes could only widen at her response, the merman could count the amount of times he’s seen her truly break down on one hand, she didn’t let tears ever pass the rims of her beautiful (e/c) eyes often.
Rin pulled himself up beside her and grabbed her hand, careful not to touch her clothes since his body was wet from his natural habitat , “What’s wrong?” He asked as softly as he could manage. (Y/n) tried to compose herself but the tears kept falling and her breath kept hitching, her mother had met a man, what her daughter would describe as an absolute sleaze, but despite her daughters unrest the woman started seeing this abomination of a man, Jeff, the two had only been seeing each other for a month and (Y/n)’s mother had already decided she wanted to move everything to be with him and ‘be a real family’, frankly it made (Y/n) sick, not to get her wrong, it had been eight years since her father died and she wanted so much for her mother to be happy, just not with this stranger, a stranger that treated the teen horribly all while keeping a sweet face up for the woman he was trying so desperately to tie down, a stranger who had not only convinced (Y/n)’s mother to move in with him, but to bring (Y/n) with her, he wanted to drag her away from her coastal home town, take her away from every single friendship and memory she’d ever built, he was going to take her to his inland home, an inland home that was hours away from the ocean, an inland home where she wouldn’t be able to see Rin. Somewhere she knew she couldn’t be happy, she’d be giving up the only things that kept her smiling, for what? The sake of a bigger bedroom? It wasn’t anything anywhere near what she wanted. She didn’t know how her dear friend would react to the news, if it was anyway near as bad as she had things wouldn’t be ending very well.
She couldn’t be blamed for her reaction, she had arrived home from school to find her bedroom all packed up in big brown boxes, her mother and Jeff standing there amidst the boxes with bright smiles on their faces and the loud shouts of ‘surprise!’ came from their lips, when (Y/n) questioned them as to why her room was all packed up her mother had said “We’re moving!” her statement was followed up by Jeff adding “Tomorrow.” When (Y/n) screeched in question her mother had only said “We didn’t want you to have doubts” Yeah, that was it. The sixteen year old had stormed out of her house without a world, slamming the front door with as much fury as she could, her feet carrying her straight to the only place she felt at ease anymore, straight to the cove, straight to Rin.
All she could do was look at the male she had grown so attached to over the years and let her cracked voice try and explain “My- my mom just- she told me we were moving, tomorrow… she didn’t even give me a warning I just got home and my entire room was packed up and the house it’s not- it’s not even-” Her own sob cut off her rambling and Rin no longer cared for her clothes as he wrapped his arms around her and let her cry. Surely he’d still be able to see her, it might be a little hard to find the coast she’s at and sure no cove is gonna be the same as the one they’ve been sharing with each other for the past eight years, but they could make it work.
“The house isn’t what?” His voice held it’s soft tone while his ring clad fingers stroked her (h/c) hair, an action he learned could calm her down greatly, her crying had ceased slightly and she met his maroon eyes only for second before biting her lip and looking down at his scaly lap which she had ended up sitting on while she cried her broken little heart out, her arms were still wound around his neck and in any other situation the pair would have blushed, but there was a time and place for their sexual tension and unspoken feelings and it wasn’t then and there. (Y/n) found her voice and slowly spit out the words that felt like venom on her tongue, “The house isn’t coastal, it’s in some remote area inland that’s at least an hours drive from the nearest beach.” Rin’s eyes widened, (Y/n)’s tears began to fall again, “…That means…” (Y/n) only nodded her head weakly, to her surprise Rin pulled her closer and his own tears began to fall onto her shoulder as they held on to each other, “I’m sorry” she choked out.
Neither of them wanted to move, both realizing that they wouldn’t be able to see each other for who knows how long, they could barely get through a weekend without seeing each other and now it seemed like they’d have to go on without their nightly chats indefinitely, Rin didn’t know if he could, (Y/n) on the other hand knew she couldn’t, her weak “I don’t want to go” proved that. So they simply stayed together moving their positioning every so often so Rin’s tail could be in contact with the water, (Y/n) had her head laid on his shoulder as one of her hands held his and the other played with the necklace around her neck, Rin’s free hand messing around with the silver bracelet with a small shark charm dangling from it (Y/n) had gotten him last February for his sixteenth birthday, when she had gifted it to him she had said “it doesn’t have any special siren repellent but I thought you might like it.” It was one of his favorite things, as the necklace was to her. It seemed now that they’d serve as memories of something wonderful that ended far too soon. The pair barely noticed the sun peaking up through the horizon, fingers not daring to release from around the others, (Y/n) heard her name being called by two voices in the distance, her mother and Jeff no doubt, a final tear fell from (Y/n)’s eye and she turned her head to look into the eyes of Rin, it was now or never, leaning in she kissed him softly, far too quickly, she pulled away to see his eyes closed and a tear matching her own rolling down his cheek.
“Goodbye, Rin.”
With that (Y/n) gently released Rin’s hand and trudged regretfully through the cold water of the ocean, not bothering to take her shoes off as she exited the cove leaving Rin alone with his tears.
“Goodbye, (Y/n).”
Yeah, eight years definitely wasn’t long enough, nothing ever would be, now he wasn’t sure if it ever could be as he watched her footprints in the sand blowing away as fast as she did.

Unearthly Delights Part Two (M)
Tumblr media
Parts: Preview, One, Two (M), Three (Coming soon!)
Genre: Drama, Smut, Action (?), Romance, Supernatural Creatures and Monsters AU
Pairing: ???
Word Count: 6K
A/N: Next part! Managed to write this all despite the awful sadness.
My first day off I got up at noon and went to get groceries. Which, for me, is probably going to be mostly just microwavable food and some bottles of various alcohols. It was raining for the first few hours I was awake. I walked to the store, not really minding the rain in the moment. My hood was up, the rain gentle falling. Most people didn’t stay on the sidewalk, which left a path for me. There were still people rushing around, umbrellas covering them from the rain. I passed by people, hearing their gossiping. Quiet but not too quiet mutterings of who’s cheating on who and where they’re meeting for the night.
I shake my head, pulling my hood up after I duck into the grocery store. Cereal, milk, canned food and easily made things. Sure, it was mostly junk, as I placed in some bags of chips and a few different flavors of ice cream. I did get some hot chocolate and marshmallows. It’s my favorite thing to drink when I’m cold. After getting a lot of groceries, I managed to hail a taxi, promising myself to finally just download uber or lyft when I got home. What I wasn’t looking forward to was unloading all of this. Getting my groceries up the stairs is bit of a struggle, since the elevator was currently being worked on. Thankfully it stopped raining by now, making this whole ordeal way easier. A few trips up and down so many stories was killing me. I was sweating, giving me the perfect opportunity to take a long bath. It was nice, giving me time to relax from all the standing and walking I did. Thankfully the bruise on my face wasn’t too bad. He couldn’t punch for shit, after all.
After lounging in my bath water long enough, I quickly got out, drying myself and my hair quickly. If I didn’t, it would get wavy, which I hated. After all that work, I put on some pajama pants and not even both with a shirt, walking to my living room and turning the T.V. on to some movie that was playing on cable.
After a few hours of movies, a pizza delivery and a quick at home manicure, my doorbell rang. I glared at the door. “Who the fuck,” I ask, standing and moving to the door, not even bothering to cover myself. I didn’t look through the peephole, either. Whoever knocked will just have to be happy they get to look at my fantastic tits. Not that I’m biased, or anything. I throw open the door, looking and seeing the face of my new boss as he just smiled at me. He looked fine, dressed up a bit. There was something about Junmyeon that screamed ‘husband material’, even now.
The look on Junmyeon’s face when he looked down at me was priceless. I let myself giggle, watching his cheeks go red. His eyes went wide as he looked away, “Oh, um… Hello Ava.”
I just smile, leaning against the door frame. I was in pajama pants still, my crossed arms shifting my breasts, causing Junmyeon’s face to go red. My naked torso apparently making the merman uncomfortable. “Yes, Junmyeon?”
“Oh,” He says, looking back to me, making sure to keep his eyes on my face. “We… all of us who work at Unearthly Delights made plans to go out together tonight. Well, except Ariel and Jes. Jes is at a funeral for a family member and Ariel is currently on vacation. I’ve been trying to call you to invite you, but you haven’t answered.”
“Oh,” I say, nodding, “Alright. What kind of place are we going to?”
“Just another club,” He says, his eyes not leaving mine, glued there. His face still flushed as I just couldn’t help but smile. “It’s like a place that’s just a constant rave.”
I nod, “Alright. Let me get dressed. Would you like to come in and wait?”
Junmyeon just nods quietly and I just smile. He’s the owner of a club that breaks so many laws it’s insane and he can’t even look at me while I’m topless? We’ll have to fix that. I let him in before moving to my room. It didn’t take me long to get ready. Hair in a neat high ponytail, some eyeliner and mascara, a dark purple lip. I made sure to cover the bruise the best I could, but I’ve never been that great with makeup.
Then I turned to my closet, looking to see what was in here. Taemin would often let friends use his place, so there are a lot of clothes there that are probably forgotten about. There is a shirt in particular I thought about the second I saw Junmyeon cheeks go red when I opened the door. Granted, I can’t just wear that, so I was absolutely relieved when I found some pasties I could wear under it. I’m not exactly into the silver holographic color of them, but they’ll do. I suppose I can’t just wear all black to a rave-like club.
I placed them over my bare nipples, the X’s covering all they legally needed to. Granted it’s legal to be topless in New York, but the police officers seem to forget that, and I don’t particularly care to be on their radar. I throw the form fitting black mesh crop top over, thankful that there are no sleeves. It was a tight fit, as I think this belonged to someone who was flatter than I am, but thankfully, I could squeeze my barely C cups in there. Though, to be honest, they’re probably actually a B, haven't been measured in a long time.. Now that I think about it, it could probably be Taemin’s. Wouldn’t be shocking, he loved mesh and fishnet, after all. Black skinny jeans, black heeled booties and my signature black leather jacket over it all. I zipped it up, looking at myself in the mirror. My ink black hair looked fine and I smiled. I walked back into the living room, seeing Junmyeon waiting by the door. When le looked over, he seemed relieved. I just smile, putting my wallet in my pocket along with my small pack of gum. “Lead the way,” I mutter, smiling at him.
One thing that I already love about this city was the subway system. It just made things to much easier. The walk was quick, making casual conversation and my complaining about taking groceries up 30 flights to steps. He just smiled, laughing at my misfortune. He was a great conversationalist. He really knew how to keep the back and forth between us going strong and he didn’t try to talk over me ever, which is nice. It wasn’t long before we got to the stairs to go down, I could see a few familiar faces. Jongin was standing beside Yixing, smiling as they talk to someone I didn’t recognise.
Yixing noticed us first, smiling and waving. He was in bright colors, grinning. Multiple silver piercing in his ears. After a bit of studying I did late last night, I know that he can’t touch iron, but pretty much all over metal is fine for fae. He was dressed in light green, tight jeans and some light up shoes. Around his head was a crown of flowers, his hair in a ponytail and styled out of his face. The flowers lightly glowed purple, making him look cute and innocent. Small bells on the ends of his shirt, causing a magical ringing that just made you feel warm inside. Must be magical in a way.
Jongin looked like walking sex, really. Though, I suppose that’s to be expected from a incubus. Eyeliner looked so good on him, his hair also out of his face, looking perfectly placed. He wore a jacket that was unbuttoned, showing off his bare chest. Around him was a body chain, parts wrapping around his waist and over his shoulders. Right in the middle, resting on his sternum was a jewel that was red. The metal glowed, a shimmer of blue, purple and green. It was enchanted and I could help but wonder with what. Tight pants complemented the rest of him. He, too, stuck to a lot to black, though there was neon spots of paint all over his clothes. Something told me the other man was responsible for that.
The other man was shorter than Yixing and Jongin. He was about as tall as Junmyeon. He turned, smiling. His hair was lavender, messy and all over the place. His eyes were a nice storm grey, complemented with outrageously loud eye makeup he had on. Bright purple and making his eyes stand out. He smiled, looking at me. His lips were a bright neon shade of purple, looking over Junmyeon and myself. He had a velvet collar around his throat, and his button up shirt was what I imagine an acid trip looks like. Rings on every finger, some even having two. His shirt was open a bit, revealing his skin. He was really thin, his legs too, as I couldn’t help but notice since he’s wearing leather pants. His shoes were just like Yixing’s, lighting up in rainbows as he tapped his foot.
“You both look like you’re going to a goth club or something,” The man says, his voice beautiful as he spoke. “Which can be sexy and all, but totally the opposite of where we’re actually going.
Junmyeon points to him, “This is Baekhyun. He’s one of our sirens who loves to dazzle anyone and everyone.” I looked at Junmyeon, who was just in an ordinary button up and some slacks. He turned back to the siren, “I have some work I have to do tonight with the owner.”
“Boo,” Baekhyun says, rolling his eyes. “I demand a dance with you sometime tonight, Jun! I promise I’ll save you from all the people who want to throw themselves at you!” He looks at me, “You look like you’re going home to dinner dressed as the infamous family disappointment.” He looked me up and down, walking around me, “Well, at least you have an great ass. That’ll up the sexy that this outfit tries to hide.”
I smile at Baekhyun, before unzipping my jacket. “It does hide a lot, actually.” I open it, revealing what I was wearing underneath.
Baekhyun goes from unhappy to absolutely delighted. “Yes! See, now that is fucking hot. Could do with more color but way better than I thought it was. You look great, and to be honest, black really is your color.”
I just smile, zipping it up as the cold air hits my chest. I shiver at the feeling, loving the warmth of my jacket. Good and trust. The staple of my life. “Are we going or what?”
Yixing smiles, placing his hand on my shoulder, closing his eyes. I get this warm, fuzzy feeling wash over me as he just opens his eyes back. “It’s a protection spell. I do it to all of our mundanes who work with us. Protects you from date rape drugs and any magical spell or something that is pretty much the same thing.”
“Thank you,” I say, “Really. This actually is nice to know I don’t have to be constantly watching out for that for once.”
We shuffle down the stairs, catching the subway for a bit before we finally exit. The conversation was pleasant as Baekhyun gossiped to me about all of the things. This man was a complete open book, ready to talk to anyone and share anything. He told me how he had breakfast with a warlock who was trying desperately to get in his pants, went shopping with a fae who loved to shoplift and was now ready to party with us. He was one of those always have to be doing something sorts, I suppose.
When we were let into a wearhouse looking building, the music was thumping. It was bodyshaking EDM, which I liked but wasn’t my favorite. Lights all around, blacklight making everything shine as people were dancing. People drinking, passing out pills of all sorts of colors, money being thrown around on a table to the side. The money especially caught my attention, making me smile.
Anyone who gets to know me learns I love money. But only money that I earn. I don’t want to just be given money for something, which is why I didn’t take it from Ariel last night when she offered it. Looking at the stacks of bills make my mouth water as I imagine just throwing it around and laying on it. The ultimate dream is to just have a room full of money and swim in it Scrooge McDuck style.
On the table, there was everyone I recognized. Kyungsoo and Chanyeol weren’t dressed up at all, much to Baekhyun’s dismay. He made sure they knew it, too, practically screeching over the music. Minseok wore a mesh shirt as well, black pants with glitter all over him. He smiles, holding a cigarette in his hands. I suppose when you’re a vampire there is no danger in it. Shannon was smiling as she took the hand of a stranger who came up to her. She waved at me, before looking back at the man with a sexy smirk. Sehun was dressed like Jongin, though with neon bodypaint all over him. His hair neon green, bright in the lights as he quickly downed a shot he was sharing with the person I don’t recognise. He was dressed in a neon patterned shirt, blonde hair. He also wore some makeup, but not a lot. He looks over, smiling. He reaches out, holding his hand, “Jongdae!”
“Ava,” I say, shaking his hand. I unzip my jacket, placing it on the table. Minseok brushes his glass in front of me.
“Someone bought me a drink, but I don’t care for whiskey,” He says, smiling.
I pickup the glass, drinking it quickly. I was use to the burn of alcohol, It’s become a comfort. I place it on the table, smiling.
Jongin was standing to the side, and I could see him shiver. His eyes glowing a little, as he just laughs. Chanyeol noticed this too, hitting Jongin’s shoulder, “Someone’s being naughty, hm?”
Jongin’s muscles tighten as he practically moans out, “Under the table to the right. Two tables down.”
Baekhyun looks, making it very obvious. He smiles, letting out a laugh, “Damn! She’s shameless! Look at her go!” He leans to them, “Choke on that cock, honey! You’re doing great!” There was something about him that seems to come alive in a party atmosphere.
I just laugh, seeing her vaguely hear him and pulling away, looking around. The man she was getting intimate with looked down, his brows furrowed as if to ask her what’s she thinking. The yelling apparently doesn’t make her stop for long as she turns back, opening her mouth and sucking the man’s cock back in her mouth. Jongin’s eyes still glowing, he smiles as he’s bouncing. He takes Sehun’s hand and pulls him, “Let’s go dance!”
Sehun smiles, letting himself be dragged away. He waves back at us all, before they’re lost in the sea of people.
Minseok leans over, speaking in my ear. “He was feeding on their sexual energy. It was like a shot of pure adrenaline to him.”
I look at him, “He doesn’t have to be the one fucking them?”
Baekhyun smirks, hearing us. “Nope. So try not to fuck someone at work. Trust me from personal experience, he knows who and where every time.”
“Like that would stop me,” I say with a shrug, looking and shaking to the beat, talking with Minseok and Kyungsoo who said at the table with me. Everyone else either danced or, in Junmyeon’s face, left to do work. The conversation was nice, the drinks better, but my eyes kept looking over at the table where a few people were playing poker. The piles of money making my mouth water.
Minseok’s voice whispers in my ear, “Greedy, hm?”
“There’s nothing more beautiful than money,” I say with a smile.
“I disagree,” Minseok says, looking as Kyungsoo was dragged away by Chanyeol. He smiles, “But seeing you so enthralled by money does make it seem better.”
“I grew up without money,” I say, looking at him. “Hell, getting paid yesterday was the first time I had a grand in my account in… well, ever. Honestly, if this didn’t work out I was honestly going to think about applying to be like a sugar baby to someone.”
Minseok’s face looked like h thought the idea wasn’t great, “But what if he was an old man?”
“I’d have no problem sucking a raisin dick and calling him daddy if he’s willing to throw money at me,” I say with a smile, “Beside, aren’t you old?”
“I’m only going to be a century soon,” Minseok says with a smile. “However, I am not a raisin. Have at least a little bit of standards. You’re too young for an old man. You’ll give him a heart attack.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at his last sentence. “Minseok, there isn’t many things I’d say no to if I thought what I got out of it was worth it,” I say, stretching. His eyes moved down, looking at my chest before looking back up at me. I admired that he made no move to try to hide the fact that he just looked. “Really. Most of my no’s are sexual things. Like no piss and shit. No pretending to be a baby. No vomit. And no furry shit.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Minseok says with a smile.
“It might be useful to you one day,” I say with a smirk. “Now, you tell me something,” I say, smiling at the waitress who placed another drink down in front of me. “What is it like drinking blood?”
He smiles, “Well, it’s warm, and it makes everything around me and the person you’re drinking from go away. It’s a lot like what Jongin experiences, honestly. He was shivering and moaning, feeding off their energy. That’s what it’s like but with blood, and both people feel it, but especially those being bitten.”
I open my mouth to reply, to to watch as Minseok’s demeanor changed in a flash. He was relaxed and calm, watching out for his friends and co-workers. In a blink, he was tense, his eyes shimmering a deep red as he eyes are looking to the side. I watch as his teeth grew, two insanely sharp incisors. “Ventrue clan scum,” He says, his voice deeper, growling as he glared.
I turn my head, seeing a man wearing a suit. He smiles, grinning, his teeth like Minseok’s, but not as long and sharp. His eyes glowing the same as he just looks over Minseok. “Scum? Me? Says the Gangrel beast.”
Minseok glares as the man turns his attention to me. “Hello, darling. I’m sure whatever kind of night Minseok has promised you, I could give you a better one. Whatever he’s offered I’ll double it.”
I glared at him. His clothes are extremely expensive, as is the watch he wore on his wrist. His whole style screams ‘daddy’s rich bitch’. His hair pushed back, his eyes blue and his hair white blonde. “Double this, asshole,” I say, flipping him off.
There was a change in the man, as he glared at me. He looks at Minseok, laughing, “You let her talk like that? This mortal?”
“No one owns me,you Draco Malfoy looking mother fucker,” I say, crossing my arms. “Now, how about take a damn hint and fuck off.”
My words had no effect on him,The man smirks, looking at Minseok, “She’s feisty. I know many in my clan who likes to break people like her. Perhaps I’ll tell them about her.”
“If any Vantrue hurts her, they will pay,” Minseok says, crossing his arms. “Don’t you have someone’s ass to kiss, Sylas? Still trying to claw your way back after you fall from grace?”
The man glared, his pride getting the better of him. “Shame, I do have business to take care of,” He says, before looking back at me. “I’ll definitely see you again, count on that.”
“Hopefully it’ll beat your funeral,” I say, rolling my eyes, flipping him off one last time. When he walks away, I look at Minseok, “What was that about?”
“Vampires have different clans,” He says, shaking his head. “Mine and his have been enemies for centuries. I don’t even have any business with mine anymore, but that doesn’t stop him. We can smell it on each other.”
“Sounds like some teen drama,” I say with a smile, taking a sip of my drink.
Minseok looks at where he was, “I’m going to go find Junmyeon. You should dance. It would be a shame to come to a club and not dance.”
“I don’t dance,” I say, shrugging. “I think I’m going to find someone to make out with, though.”
This makes Minseok just smile a little, shaking his head. “Be careful. Ventrues mean what they say. If you feel like someone is watching you, find one of us.”
“Or, for safety reasons, I could just go make out with one of our lovely co-workers,” I say as I wave, weaving my way through the crowd. I see many people dancing, grinding and having a good time. My co-workers all swaying with the music, feeling it and the beat. Baekhyun was making friends with literally everyone around him, which I expected. Nice to know my gut feeling about him was right. I watch as one of them pulls away, taking a breather from the crowd. I make a beeline for him, smiling as I walked up.
“Hey,” I say, closing the distance, “It’s is just casual fun. No feelings.” I pull his face down, pushing my lips against his. I had to stand on my toes to kiss him, as he was fairly taller than me. It was a quick little peck, just to see how he’d react. His lips were softer than I thought it was.
Chanyeol’s eyes are wide, shocked for a moment before he just smiles. He places his hands on my hips, pressing his lips to mine again. The first kiss was just a peck, this one quickly became sloppy and wet. His thumbs rubbing circles on my hips as he massages my tongue with his. Our tongues frantic, sometimes taking the time to nibble little bites on the each other’s lips. His hands pick me up, holding me as if I was as light as a feather. He turns us around and presses my back to the cold metal wall. I moan, smiling into the kiss. I pulled at his hair, gaining a moan from him back. He pulled away, smirking. “I certainly wasn’t expecting that, not that I’m complaining.” His voice was deep and husky, making the growing slick between my legs worse.
“I just really want some fun,” I say, pulling him back. My hands on his back, feeling the muscles of it. They were lean and strong, like every werewolf I’ve met. Their bodies just naturally seems to have power in them. I wasn’t expecting someone as sweet looking as Chanyeol to be such a good kisser, if I’m honest. He understand that kissing is a give and take, letting me sometimes have control over it every now and then. Here I thought I was going to corrupt a sweet man, but it’s a bit thrilling knowing that he knows what he’s doing.
I don’t know how long we were there, kissing. My lips were swollen and a bit sore from the bites from Chanyeol. Little nibbles, making me moan and pull at his hair. I was soaking already as I rolled my hips against his, feeling how I’m effecting him. I couldn’t help but feel good with how hard I made him as I pull him away from my lips. “Seems like I created a problem,” I say with a laugh, lightly biting his bottom lips before pulling away. I bite my lip, looking up at him through my eyelashes. I don’t think it’ll take much convincing to get what I wanted. “If you want, I’ll fix it for you,” I say in his ear, biting his earlobe.
“Only an insane person would say no to that,” He says with a smile. He set me on my feet, taking my hand and having me follow him. I trusted that he know his way around here, as he just takes me out a backdoor. The alley was, for New York, surprisingly clean. No stench of trash, no rats in sight and no needles or anything on the ground. Which, honestly, is a miracle. I smile, looking at a car that was parked back here. I guide him, pushing him to sit on the hood of the car. If we wanted to, he could have just stood there and it would have been as useless as trying to push a brick wall, but he let me just pull him and push in whatever way I wanted. I get on my knees, smiling as I looked up at him, working on his belt and pants.
Chanyeol’s eyes as he watched me were blown out with lust already. He takes a deep breath, watching me with an edger look. His hard cock sprang free, long and thick. Precum leaking from the tip. He gasped, the cool air probably uncomfortable to him. I look up at him, licking my hand quickly as I smile and take his length in my hand. I lick at the slit, causing a sound to come from him. He growls, deep in his chest. It sounded like a wild animal, as I teasingly lick at his erection. I circle my tongue around the tip, smiling as I see him clench his hands.
“Stop teasing,” He says, his voice deeper than it’s been before. He looks down, eyes glowing yellow. There was something that was just hot about that, how he changed a bit in the moment. I slip my other hand down, unbuttoning my jeans and slipping my fingers over me. I was very slick as I circles my fingers around my clit slowly. I moan, making Chanyeol let out a whine of pleasure.
I sink down, causing a moan to come from him. It was a salty taste of skin, I was used to it as I hollowed my cheeks, sucking on him.  My fingers pressing down a bit harder as I circles my clit. I look up at him, seeing him throw his head back with a rumbling moan in his chest. My hand and mouth worked together, watching as I slowly start driving him crazy. “You looks so good sucking my cock, Ava,” Chanyeol says with a breathy chuckle. His hands go to my hair, his grip tight. I lower my mouth further, taking all of him with a groan. The vibrations going straight to his cock as I could hear him moan my name. The hand holding my hair was shaking as he pulled on it.
I could tell he was close as he started to thrust into my mouth. I choked a few times, but just stayed and took it. It’s been awhile since I let someone fuck my mouth. Practice makes perfect, after all. His face was screwed up as he finally leans back, groaning loudly into the air. His cum filled my mouth as I just kept swallowing it down. The taste was strong but not disgusting as I just continue to suck him through it. There was a slightly different taste to it, though I can’t pinpoint it. Probably something about him not being human. After he was done, I pull off, licking the last little bit of cum that was on his cock as he just takes a moment to gather himself.
He looks down, a goofy smile on his face. “Damn Ava, that wa-”
“If you don’t hurry up and finger me I’m going to rip your cock off,” I say, my finger still stroking my clit. The mess in my underwear only grew as I sucked him off. There was just something about doing this outside in the middle of the city that added to my arousal, too.
He was quick, pulling me up and pushes my back against one of the walls. He picks me up as I wrap my legs around him, smiling. His face was flushed, hair a bit crazy, like he’s been running his fingers though it. He pushes my pants and underwear down a little, just enough for his hand to move mine and slip inside me. I moaned, my back arching as I gripped his shoulder with one hand. Chanyeol licks the fingers that were once in my panties, moaning as he licked the wet arousal off of them. There something so hot about a man doing that. After, his hand pushes my crop top over my breasts, peeling the pasties off and sicking them on my stomach. His rough fingers thrusting in me quickly, quicker than humanly possible. Chanyeol’s fingers were long and quite thick as three fingers pistoned in and out me. His thumb giving me friction on my clit, making me choke out a gasp.
“Fuck Ava,” He says, his hand pinching at one of my nipples as he bends his body to take the other in his mouth. His long fingers brushed against me just right, causing me to yell a moan out.
“There,” I cry out, “There, Chanyeol!”
His finger abused that spot, finding it everytime as I grabbed his hair, pulling him back and smashing our lips together. “Fuck,” I moan in his mouth, only for him to silence me with his tongue. I was breathing heavily as his lips went to my neck, my loud moans filling the air around us. I couldn’t care if people could hear us or were looking at us. Free memories for their spank banks latter.
The feeling in me snapped, an I yelled out. My orgasm rushing over me like river rapids as his fingers continue to fuck me through it. He was merciless, not slowing down at all as tears fell from my eyes. He bit my shoulder softly, as I was shaking in his arms, quickly becoming overwhelmed with this pleasure.
Finally, the feeling faded as I felt him take his hand out of my pants. He raises his hands to his mouth, licking it with a huge smirk on his face. I lean forward, licking his fingers too before kissing him deeply. He groans, the kiss softer than it was before. It was lazy, our tongues just softly touching. It was nice after the fast pace sexual adventures we just had.
Chanyeol sets me softly on my feet, as I quickly pull my pants back up, zipping them up and buttoning them. “Thanks for that,” I say with a smile as I put the pasties back on and pull the see though top back down. My nipples still hard due to the night air as he watched me with satisfaction.
“No, thank you,” Chanyeol says with a huge grin. “Fuck, I needed that.” He tilts his head back to the club, “You want a drink? I should at least get you one for that amazing blowjob.”
“I’m not going to say no to free booze,” I saw with a grin.
As Chanyeol opens the door, we see Jongin leaning against the wall, the glowing in his eyes staring to face as he just smiles at us. “Thank for the meal,” He says with a smirk. He looks at Chanyeol, “You do owe her a drink after that. God it was hot. The energy was delicious.”
“So you  really can actually can feel it, huh,” I say, following him back through the crowd to the bar.
Jongin nods, waiting at the bar with us, “I can. Hell, I could feel the energy the second you both started kissing.”
Chanyeol slaps Jongin’s arm, “You owe her a drink too, then. You can’t just eat for free.”
I couldn’t stop the laugh that bubbles from my throat. “Well I can think of something he could eat for free,” I say with a wink. Jongin just gives me a smirk, winking back at me. A glass of some whiskey cocktail finding its way into my hands as Chanyeol quickly paid for it. I toast my glass with his, “Cheers!”
Chanyeol just smiles, taking a sip from his drink.
Unfortunately, the happy times seemed to come to a quick end as the sound of a loud crack filled the air. People started to move away as two people seemed to start to go at it.
Chanyeol pulled me away just as something came rushing by at a speed I didn’t know was possible. The object was caught by him, a empty broken bottle of beer. I move, going towards the commotion. My eyes widened at what I was seeing. Chanyeol rushed passed into the open space, glaring.
Minseok was there, his nails long and his teeth sharp, looking furious. He was breathing heavily, the rage in his eyes make them looks as if he was on fire. Behind him was Junmyeon, holding his hand that looked to be severely cut. He didn’t seemed worried as he was glaring at the man before him.
The man had long nails and fangs like Minseok, breathing heavily. There were cuts on his face where it looked like Minseok got him, his eye even cut too. It was gruesome.
Minseok scoffed, his voice deeper and haunting as he spoke. “You Ventures can’t leave anything alone, can you.”
Chanyeol moved in front to Minseok, his glowing eyes looking at the man, “What did he do?”
“Tried to kill Junmyeon,” Minseok says with a low growl.
Chanyeol let out a growl of his own, looking at the man, “I’d suggest you leave or else.” His growl was like a huge wolf, whereas Minseok’s sounded like a tiger. It was scary, making me shake a little. I felt a hand on my shoulder, pulling me behind them. Jongin put himself in front of me.
“This could get ugly,” He says, the flirty nature of him disappearing. He looks back, “Stay near me. You won’t get hurt.”
“Can’t do that,” The man says, looking. “I’ve been tasked to kill this little fish.”
In a blink, Minseok was there. The man was on the ground as people started to flee in fear. He held one of his arms, his foot holding the man down by the chest. “You’ll have to go back to your master a failure, then.”
There was a loud rip and screaming. I look and see as Minseok was holding the man’s arm. He ripped it completely off of him, throwing it to the side of the man. It was honestly a bit terrifying, how strong he was. The effort it took to rip a man’s arm was was minimal. How brutal he showed he could be. He was like a wild animal that has been backed into the corner, going absolutely ballistic, in a way. It was scary, truthfully.
“Quit crying, it’ll heal back,” Minseok sneers, moving towards Junmyeon. "Tell whoever you're working for to fuck off or else." He takes Junmyeon's hand in his, looking up at Chanyeol. “Take the trash out, will you? And Jongin, get all of our people together. We’re going to leave.”
I watch as he leans, licking at the wound on Junmyeon’s hand. I see Junmyeon goes tense, letting out a groan of pleasure. Minseok was healing the wound with his saliva. That’s why Junmyeon wasn’t worried about it. He knew Minseok would heal him.
Jongin takes me by the arm, pulling me along with him. I didn’t fight it, not wanting to cause trouble. Soon, my jacket was back on and we were out, getting lost in the growing streets of the big apple.

Don’t be fooled baby
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jimin x Reader
Word count: 1k.
Summary: “You never believed in fairy tales until you found yourself in one, although it didn’t go the way you hoped..”
Genre: Siren supernatural AU.
Ratings: Angst, Fluff.
Pt.2
You sighed deeply as you threw you backpack on the empty chair in the kitchen. Another boring day of school passed, thank goodness. You sighed deeply as you let yourself fall back on the cough. School has been tiring you out so much lately. So much that you don't even feel like yourself anymore. Luckily you know a way to fix that: Long walks at the beach. When your parents told you a few years ago that you were moving you cried. You didn't want to move to a new city, leave all your friends behind and start all over again. Now however, you couldn't be happier that they made that decision.
Although you didn't have a lot of friends and school was absolutely exhausting you liked your new life. You found peace by going for long walks at the beach. Something you never thought you would do on a daily basis. You put a bottle of water in your backpack before walking out of the door, making your way to the familiar beach. To relax isn't the only reason why you're going to the beach so often. A couple of weeks ago you spotted a bright blue tail. It wasn't a tail of a fish since it was way too big for that and it wasn't a shark either. It was an almost unnatural kind of blue. It was too shiny and sparkly to be a shark.
You knew the century old tales of mermaids and mermen exist but never believed in them. After all it couldn't be true, right? Do merpeople really exist? Besides merpeople there's also sirens. Majestic creatures that lure people in with their charm. This sounded even more ridiculous to you. Like yes you read fairy tales when you were younger but this sounded completely ridiculous to you. You frowned at the thoughts as you shook them off, finally reaching the beach. You put your backpack down in the sand before sitting down. You sighed happily as you stared at the water, secretly hoping to spot the beautiful blue tail again.
You waited 5 minutes. 10. 15. 30. After an hour you finally gave up. You grabbed your backpack, ready to leave when you see a boy around your age swimming in the water. As curiosity took over, you moved a little closer to the water to take a better look at him. Surprisingly he caught you staring at him and he instantly swam towards you. You took a seat on a rock as the guy came up a little, leaning onto your thighs as he gave you a bright smile, hiding a bit of mischief behind it. Already charming his way into your heart.
"Hello there!" He beamed excitedly, making you chuckle.
"Hi."  "What's your name beautiful?" He asked in that melodious voice of his.
"I'm Y/N"
"I'm Jimin, nice to meet you."
He gently shook your hand as he stared up at you, flashing you that charming smile again. You couldn't help but think that he was handsome. Very handsome even. He had a charming personality that made you instantly like him. Just then you realized that the water was actually way to cold to swim in. It was Autumn after all. Why would anyone go for a swim now?
"Jimin, why are you swimming?" You asked as you raised your eyebrow.
Instead of giving you an answer like you expected, he moved back so he was fully in the water again and moved a little, showing you his beautiful blue tail. It was the same tail you saw a couple of weeks ago and were so mesmerized by. Do merpeople exist after all? You gasped in awe as you couldn't tear your eyes away from his tail. It was beautiful. You were so mesmerized that you didn't notice Jimin grinning wickedly at the sight of you being in awe.
"Do you want to touch it?"
You nodded at his words as you leaned down to touch it. It was slimy, as expected but soft at the same time. The closer you got the more mesmerized you were. Jimin seemed to notice and chuckled at your expressions. He'd always liked humans, mainly because they were so different from sirens. Humans stress about everything. They only want the best of the best and believe that hard work pays off. They society is extremely pressured and only cares about achievements, work, grades and goals being reached. Jimin had seen you a couple of weeks ago as well and instantly wanted to talk to you. However, you never went close enough for him to be able to talk to you. Now you were close enough so he took advantage of that opportunity. You two spend the rest of the time getting to know each other before it got dark and you had to go back.
You came back the next day, and the day after that, and after that. There was just something about Jimin that pulled you in. You couldn't stop thinking about him. He was on your mind 24/7. Maybe it was his charming personality, or his sunshine smile that pulled on the right strings. It was safe to say that you had fallen for the him. That's how you found yourself on that same rock again, waiting for Jimin to arrive. Luckily he didn't let you wait very long. This time however he pulled himself further out of the water so he was face to face with you. You felt your breath hitch as you could practically feel his breath on your lips.
His eyes lingered on your lips before he kissed you softly, his lips moving gently against yours. You tangled your fingers in his hair as you deepened the kiss. Getting lost in the feeling of his soft lips against your own. You felt him slowly getting back into the water, dragging you with him. As soon as he pulled you underwater he pulled back, flashing you a devilish smirk. It was then you realized he had caught you. He wasn't just a merman, he was a siren and now he caught you.

Writing for Holly!
I found this little rough piece I wrote ages ago when I was first workshopping Holiday. I think the concepts for her parents (Veery and Marv) were one of the rare first ideas that I actually really liked and didn’t change, along with her colour changing. And yes, she is the daughter of a bird and a fishman and is thusly, a Siren (’; Gotta love the cartoon logic!
Also, there’s some good descriptive stuff in there for the 3 parts of the isles and I think I have another unfinished snippet that focuses more on the casino. I think it’s an example of some more of my improving work, which is a nicer way to put it; I wrote this around the time where I wanted to get back into writing after university sorta stopped me in my tracks for a bit.
But enough of that! Enjoy the read cheries x
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Isles of Inkwell. There’s something for everyone and everyone for something. A bizarre assortment of people and creatures and anything you can imagine in between that, from crockery and knickknacks to phantoms and plants, all with big, round eyes made up of bright, robust colours, lived throughout the three isles, talking, walking and gawking together all the while with shenanigans and hijinks a-plenty going on around them. Things that would defy YOUR expectations, but here, bursting into smoke and sparks, thoughts and words materialising in cloudy bubbles above your head, changing shape, changing size and making your wildest imagination come to life in a flash ‘n’ bang of red or blue or purple or green? That could all happen in one hour of a sunny summer afternoon and nobody would bat an eyelid. What’s the problem? It’s Inkwell Isle!
On the first isle, you’d find the verdant fields of the forest where the best and worst parts of Mother Nature’s concoctions grow together. Quiet, small, but with that inimitable charm of the countryside. Over the bridge, on the isle of the outskirts of the city was The Carnival, or The Carnivisle if you wanted to be cute with it. (Most people don’t wanna be cute with it) It didn’t always use to look like a bigtop wonderland. It looked a lot more like what you’d expect when you heard the word “outskirts”. Rundown to the point where the isle itself was starting to crack and tear at its edges. But when the Carnies came in and settled there, building up their stations and just doing what they did best, people genuinely wanted to see them perform and it wasn’t long before the isle got a new lease on life. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that it hasn’t been there forever with how well everyone’s accustomed to it.
But the city. Ah, the city. The third and largest isle of the three. That cultured flare with seaside air. It was as bright and colourful as its residents and you couldn’t help but love it. Well, most people couldn’t help it. But near the shore of the beach on a little house that would go unnoticed for the most part, there was one person who didn’t have to work too hard to be bored with her surroundings.
This person- she- woke up every morning, the conductor of nature right outside her window trying to harmonize birdsong, salty air and the burning hum of the rising sun. Every. Single. Morning. It got old. Fast. She got washed and got dressed every morning, her solace was that for a couple of minutes or mere seconds, running water or fabric would muffle the cheery buzz.
That person is Holiday Tune. Yes. I know. She has more strange things about her than an ironic name. For example, on this particular morning, where everything, as described above, was no different, Holiday got up, got washed, got dressed and headed downstairs to catch her parent’s eyes. Her mother and father, as usual, met her with expectant smiles that they had to force not to let very obviously fall and falter as they saw that their daughter was still, after a whole year, still black and white.
Not in minds set, not in views, but literally, physically, undeniably monochrome. With the darker colours of her person; her short, wavy hair, her lips, the tie, sleeve suspenders, suit pants, waistcoat and shoes of her uniform being black and the lighter parts being, you guessed it, white. Her skin was a cool grey as mentioned, along with her eyes, both of which if caught in the right moment, right before a blink, would appear to flicker and gleam like a soft shiver of static. She certainly caught looks, not helped by the fact that she looked pretty… Person-looking. Now, that’s not to say humans in appearance were that strange, but with how few of them there were on the isles, they were decidedly peculiar, to say the least. But for Holiday, the strange thing was that it didn’t seem to make sense why she was so person-looking, with legs and arms and a human-looking face…
“Holly honey, you simply have to talk to Tia about getting a new uniform, you know, like a special circumstances uniform, maybe one with a little bit more col-” her mother started, taking her by her arm gently to lead her down into the kitchen. Holly interrupted her before the dreaded “c” word could get its second syllable.
“And a good morning to you too mama, how’d you sleep? How’re you feeling? Myself? Very well and very well, thank you for asking.” Holly gave her mother a grin, suppressing an eye roll and filling her voice in with just the right amount of cheek to make up for it. A little trick she learned from the master of putting up with the matriarch herself: Marvin Marlin, her dad. She caught eyes with him and shared a knowing wink, the scales on his moustachioed face practically shining to make up for the grin he was hiding behind the morning paper. Problem was, Veery Songbird’s sharp round eyes caught everything and with a famous loud sigh and a ruffle of her mahogany coloured feathers, she narrowed her eyes and twittered over to the gulping merman at the table.
“She gets that salty tongue in her head from your fishy side you know Marv, nothing but silver on a birds tongues I tell ya.”
Holiday watched her dad, flick out the paper in a fluid motion, his sharp teeth curling up into a smirk. Oh no.
“Papa, you’d better be trying to fashion that flimsy thing into some sort of shield if you’re gonna open your mouth again.” Holly quipped, fashioning her breakfast out a single buttered piece of bread that sat on a plate for her on the table.
Marv shot her a despondent look, and his scales seemed to ripple as his skin became a pastel, melancholy blue, “What? But I had a good one this time too.”
“Good one to get your butt out of this house fish boy.” A wing came out to knock sense into the back of his head, Holly was always amazed that her mama still managed to find a way to hiss with a beak.
