My College of Spirits Bard I got to try out for a one shot this week that @moorkle ran. I liked trying out a bard and loved the spooky ghost vibes.

Songbird's Serenade
5th level enchantment (bard)
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self (60ft radius)
Components: V, S, M (the feather of a bird-of-paradise, encrusted in gemstones worth at least 500gp)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You channel your voice and sing a harmonious tune, infusing others around you to succeed at any battle. While concentrating on this spell, you emit a 60ft radius sphere of inspiring energy, granting the following benefits to creatures of your choice in the area (you cannot choose yourself to gain these benefits):
• +2 to attack rolls and saving throws
• A bonus to damage rolls equal to your Charisma modifier
• A 10ft increase to movement speed
Additionally, when a creature affected by these benefits deals damage, it may use its reaction to immediately make an additional weapon or cantrip attack using your Spell Attack Modifier and dealing thunder damage instead of the attack's normal damage.
While concentrating on this spell, you have resistance to all damage and advantage on all saving throws, are immune to effects that would incapacitate you or control your actions, and you cannot move and must spend your action each turn to maintain concentration.

Bowshichord
Rare (+1), Magic Weapon (Longbow)
(Requires attunement by a Bard)
This weapon can be used as an arcane focus for bards. Every Bard gains proficiency in this weapon if they aren't already and this weapon does not have the Heavy tag.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.  Once attuned, you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your bard spells.
Harmony. When you attack an enemy creature and score a critical hit, you can choose one ally, that can hear you, to give bardic inspiration.  This does not expend a normal usage of the Bardic Inspiration class feature.
Dissonance (Curse). When you attack an enemy creature and score a critical miss, the target gains a bardic inspiration. This does not expend a normal usage of the Bardic Inspiration class feature.
Finally, you gain proficiency in this instrument and can play it similarly to how one would play a lute or harp.

I cannot tell you quite how happy it makes me that Vicious Mockery is fully voiced in BG3. Sure, sure, some of the insults are mid or awkward, but like. They can't all be winners. And it really helps you understand the kind of personality that would be attracted to the spell Vicious Mockery. I'm pretty sure the only class that can learn it is Bard (though in BG3 you can get it on a Warlock by taking the Pact of the Tome), but even with that restriction, a Bard who has VM and and a Bard who doesn't have VM is...a whole different ball game.
You have to be some kinda little shit to know Vicious Mockery. And hearing them sneer out a half-baked Shakespearian insult really gets me into character, y'know?

When I was making my lil illusion-centric caster rogue character that I'm playing in a campaign soon, I had realized that not only is there a general lack of illusion spells, there doesn't seem to be any support themed illusion spells. Which is clearly a massive oversight on WotC's part, becos support illusion can have so much flavor.
So have this one! Inspired by both a support-centric illusion buff and also the character's flavor too.

First little art dump of D&D characters! This time with Rune, an amnesic, flamboyant tiefling who turned into a Fey near the campain finale. Those were all done during 2020-2021.

so i remembered it was hu tao's birthday yesterday at like 9pm and scrambled to make a spell so this is it! hope yall enjoy!
Embers Of The Dead
6th level necromancy (bard, cleric, wizard)
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (five candles worth 10gp each and 150gp worth of incense and herbs, all of which the spell consumes)
Duration: 1 hour
You weave intricate strands of fire around the corpse of a creature that's died within the past hour. If you cast this spell on the corpse of an undead or construct, or on a creature with a CR higher than the spell's level, it fails. When you finish casting this spell, the corpse of the creature lights aflame and turns to ash, the smoke and fire forming a manifestation of its spirit in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the corpse.
The creature's spirit is friendly to you, and follows your commands. It can speak Common, as well as any languages it knew in life, though only you can hear it speak. It can use any movement speed it had in life, although it cannot move through solid objects and cannot hold or manipulate material objects. It answers any questions you ask it truthfully to the best of its knowledge, and in a manner that's as understandable as possible. In combat, the spirit uses the stat block it used in life and has its own initiative order, but is controlled by the DM (although it still follows your commands). Any weapon or spellcasting focus required materializes as flame in its hands, and disappears when it leaves combat or if it leaves the spirit's hands. If the creature was a spellcaster, it only knows the spells it had prepared when it died, it cannot cast spells higher than 3rd level, and cannot cast spells that require costly material components. All damage the spirit deals becomes fire damage.
The spirit disappears after one hour or if it is reduced to zero hit points, after which it cannot be resummoned.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell of 7th level or higher, the maximum CR increases by 1 for each spell level above 6th. Additionally, the duration of the spell and the maximum time after the creature had died to cast the spell both increase to 1 day at 7th level, 1 week at 8th level, and 1 month at 9th level.
