That window closed, now the fight is on equal grounds.”- Nope, because the high-ends still have the advantage of several Quirks of their own to surprise the heroes with. Their own surprise attack was evening the battle, not allowing them one one-sidedly subdue their foes. 2) “Although, I don`t think the intention here was to cause damage, per see. I think this was only a way to get Aizawa to slip and remove the effect of his quirk. Because now all the others can also fight on equal grounds.:- As Izuku’s shown before, the best way to win a team fight isn’t necessarily to beat the opponent yourself, it’s to make the best move to allow your teammates to fight at their maximum potential to overwhelm the opposition, and Woman made the best move she could to let her allies break free. 3) “ENDEAVOR YOU STILL HAVEN`T KILLED THAT FUCKER?!”- Well, it is quite hard to burn through bones more than skin, but I think he was getting close to it. 4) “DAMMIT I WAS JOKING IT WOULD STAB HER AGAIN

IT EVEN GOT THE OTHER LEG NOW.”-

Still didn’t stop her though. Hell, Mirko would have bitten that tube open if she had to.

It`s a good thing for them that they still have the absurd healing factor, because christ she would`ve killed all of them before the shiggyloading bar managed to hit 75%”- Honestly, if not for the blood loss caused by her missing arm, I fully believe Mirko would have killed them all and still made it in time to crack Shigaraki’s container right on the 75% mark.

6) “I always wondered why evil scientists rig their computers to explode in case someone damage the main experiment. Those people have way too much money for sure, that shit is expensive, not to say the ecological impact it has as waste.”- You can’t beat the classics.

9) “Oh, okay, so it was a ~delayed collapse~ kind of situation with the shiggytube.”- Damaged, but still operational for the moment. Gotta bust that sucker wide open to make the procedure fail, especially before Tomura can be resuscitated by the machines therein.

10) “Oh yeah, fear not, those two ain`t gonna let him escape this building. If they are going down, they`ll make sure he gets his ass beaten all the way down to hell.”-There’s a special spot in hell reserved for him, but before he gets there he’ll have to answer to them

11) “For starters that woman nomu. holy shit, what is up with that thing? Again, I know that those models are supposed to be smarter, but jesus fuck man- that thing was probably smarter than Kurogiri, and he`s already off the charts on that aspect in comparison to the other ones.”- I got the impression she and the other high-ends are smarter in terms of battle strategy, since they’re designed for fighting first and foremost, but not so much in cases of day-to-day socialising like Kurogiri is. Kurogiri more or less passes as human if you didn’t know he was a Nomu, and by his own admittance he’s not really a fighter, but he’s an invaluable support asset and can reasonably care of other’s needs. These guys are all about the fighting and the killing, and would struggle to process a task like ‘mixing a drink’. @thelreads

It's that time again! First Friday Fic Night

For a refresher you can see what this is about here.

Voting at the bottom to choose next month's topic.

This month is family feels. Found family. The one you chose or who you chooses you. Sometimes on purpose but often unintentionally. As someone who had to cut ties with my family of origin (except my sister who is a gem), this theme is close to my heart.

I don't think that families (found or otherwise) are limited only to long-term, here-for-the-long-haul, relationships. Sometimes someone passes through your life for a brief period of time but manage to plant a home in your heart. It can happen when you need them for a season, or when they need you, and usually it hits you when you least expect it. So my definition of family feels may seem broad so the stories may not hit that spot for you. It's cool, they are all still really worth the read.

I had difficulty narrowing down my list so we may come back to family feels in the future. I also left Dadzawa out. That is a whole genre of its own. In this post we have Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Teen Wolf, and Snow White With the Red Hair. We kind of hit them all.

It can be gruelling, tedious and heartbreaking. And it's funny, because he never really set out to save the brat in the first place.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this fic. I actually don't know how many times I've read it at this point. This is Bakugou not just saving without blowing things up, but it is also him learning to care for others, understand what giving up a piece of yourself really means, and discovering family. Plus, domestic Bakugou is my religion.

I think this might have been the first BNHA fic that grabbed me. It is top 5 BNHA for me, and I have 268 BNHA fics read and bookmarked. I wish I was joking about that last part.

I think this was originally going to be a longer fic, but it works really well as just a one shot. As I mentioned above, domestic Bakugou is my thing, and in this he is soft soft soft.

This is such a beautiful piece. The three of them finding home in one another, settling into a life together and reaching out for the version of the future that they want. It feels like evert line destroys me.

It's just so good. I can't. If there is only one fic you read from this list, it should be this one.

i think one of the funniest things about Shadowpeaches, before they make up after the whole murder thing

is that they absolutely know everything about each other

MK mentions Macaque ordered a noodle dish with specific extra toppings to Wukong (because MK sorta wants them to be friends again because their bickering is annoying, and also now that he knows Macaque is good so buddha help him macaque is gonna get befriended)

and Wukong, without thinking for a single second, just fucking knows Macaque had a bad day. That what he ordered was for comfort. And he absolutely hates that he knows because it means that even after all these centuries he’s retained so many memories of Macaque, his likes and dislikes, things to make him happy and what might’ve made his day bad. And those memories are there despite Wukong probably wanting to forget them and actively trying to

Likewise, Macaque can tell what Wukong’s feeling by how he stands, walks or talks. The tones of his voice, how sharp his movements are or how playful the tone of his voice is. Like he does a little spying and sees MK and Wukong sparring, and Macaque can just see the absolute pride in Wukong’s eyes as the kid lands punches, he sees Wukong get more and more into the fight as his movements becomes faster and more playful. And that probably hurts Macaque more than annoys him because it reminds him of when it was him and Wukong sparring, and the same thing would happen.

like those two, know everything about each other, as much as they wish they didn’t

Been reading Eclipse Apprentice (again) and felt like drawing Wan Ji

mostly because i really wanted to do some watercolour shading and well, boom (It’s like 00:30 pm, so i might not have done the gold pattern on her shirt proper, very apology)

anyways Eclipse Apprentice is so fucking good and the art is yummy

Touya breathed in. Dabi breathed out: Let’s reconstruct his death.

[Because we know more than you think.]

Here is the funny thing: At this point we have more information about Toya’s entire childhood, than we have about Hawks’. So let’s be faster than Horikoshi thinks is good for us, and reconstruct it accuratly.

There are three big things to “assume” before I start. First: Dabi is not a Nomu. Second: Dabi is not an undercover hero. (I saw “theories” about this and I won’t waste time by listing up all the reasons this is impossible.)

Third: The “Hawks’s parent was a thief”-theory is true. (Their names are written in the same kanji; There was no need for Ending to mention this name in ch. 250, other than plot-setup; It fits chronologically in both Hawks’ and Endeavor’s history etc.)

So, Let’s tell the story of Todoroki Toya. - For this I elaborated an extreme professional graph:

Looking at the dates and following the canon rhythm of all Todoroki siblings being around 3 years apart, Dabi is currently 26.

In the picture of his shrine, he wears a traditional middle-school uniform, which means he “died” between age 14 and 16. This perfectly fits in line with the information we got from Fuyumi, which told us that Toya died, shortly after Rei left the house respectively after Shoto got his scar. (Meaning, we talk about a time-frame in which the Todoroki-children were left ‘alone’ with Endeavor.)

His scars are neat and symmetrical, which means Dabi’s scars are self-inflicted. The placing of Dabi’s facial scars perfectly matches the locations of Endeavors flame-beard, which means he tried to copy Endeavor’s looks.

We know that Endeavor stopped training Toya to focus on Shoto. (Because Toya was allowed to play with his siblings, while Shoto was dragged away. Toya had to be 12 - 14 when we saw him playing soccer with them in ch. 39.) So Toya lived at home before he died.

[We know the hard trainings-program of the HPSC would not allow many breaks to play with siblings at home. We know from Natsuo (in ch. 250) that Toya often (!) played with him. The HPSC would also have informations about a unforgettable quirk like his, if they had any conection with his “death”.]

This hilariously sad, because it means: Toyas death was not a trainings-incident inflicted by Endeavor nor was it inflicted by the HPSC!

Toya Todoroki died because of something he did himself. (Every clue points towards this and I can’t believe how many people get this wrong when theorizing.)

But this is where the thrill starts: Because we also know that Toya cared for his siblings...

And to tell you my own bloody theory: Toya wanted to proof that he wasn’t a “failure” and he wanted to protect tiny Shoto from the painful training. So he tried to impress Endeavor by teaching himself how to use fire like him - and he forced himself to handle the pain. But the flames where too hot and Toya set a huge fire. Seriously injured, in fear, shame and rage he run away from home. Since the fire had destroyed the surroundings, his family thought his body got incinerated within and declared him dead.

And Dabi was born.

...So is there anything more to think ab-

“Yeah Sherlock- How the fuck does Dabi know Hawks’ real name?”, a rhetorical (and a little rude) reader might ask.

Great question! To be honest, I’m just as confused as Hawks. (But before you throw your tomatoes, let’s see if we can change that:)

First of all, I’ll assume Dabi didn’t pay black hats to hack into the database of the Hero Public Safety Commision, because firstly, this would make his persona completly non-essential to this knowledge - and secondly, they litterally have “Safety” in their name - So I’ll fucking hope their firewalls are... hot.

From a writing point of view it makes way more sense that Hawks shared his name with Toya Todoroki in person.

So let’s look at Hawks’ life in the graph. Hawks was born in Fukuoka, which is a five-hour-ride away from the Todoroki’s mansion in Mustafu. Tiny Hawks spent his first years of life in a dumpster. (”Ah, pardon, Sir. My bad, I failed to see the floor, because of the trash piles NEXT TO YOUR FUCKING CHIL-!”)

However there are two possibilitys:

1.: Keigo and Toya met in the HPSC in Mustafu.

If this is true, it probably happened in the (2 - 4 year) timeframe after Hawks got scouted and before Shoto got his “perfect” quirk, where Endeavor found himself still enraged about Toya’s “wasted-potential”. So forced Toya to train with the “government-kid” (…which was a prodigy in contrast to his own “failure of a son”.)

In this scenario, Hawks broke the rule of “never using his real name again” and told Toya during the match. Back then Hawks was only around 6 - 8 years old, so its plausible for him not to remember Toya’s face well. ... But on the other Hand: If Toya had ever participated in the HPSC-training, the Comission would have informations about him and his unforgetable quirk. Its unlikely that they wouldn’t recognize Dabi’s describtion in their data base.]

2.: Keigo and Toya met in Kyushu in autumn.

We know Endeavor captured “Takami”, before Keigo was recruited and forbidden to use his name.

We know it happened in autumn and we can assume Keigo was younger than seven years. There are many possibilitys- Maybe the thief Takami exploited Keigo’s quirk for criminal activitys and that is the reason Keigo was so skilled at a young age. Maybe Toya was with his father that day...

- But at this point it feels like throwing stones in the dark: Eventually we will hit something, but it might be fucking bruised.

Or what do you think? Did I make a horrible mistake somewhere up there?

Either way- I’m hyped to get more content to analyze, so I can keep ignoring my homework during quarantine.

1) “Oh yeah, also Endeavor showed up. funnily both the main series and Vigilantes had chapters that ended with Endeavor showing up, I wonder if the author were in sync.”- There was certainly a fair amount of collaboration between them, given the whole Shirakumo/kurogiri deal.

2) “Oh? Who`s showing up now? I don`t remember who else was on the hospital squad besides endeavor and Mirko. I remember who`s at the hotel, but over here, not so much.”- Only the two people most deserving to give the good doctor a taste of his own medicine.

3) “Yeah, they are only full of quirks, their whole biology has been modified to make them more powerful and resistant. Even without super regeneration, an average hero would be hard pressed to actually manage to fight against them.”-AFO wanted these High-Ends to be his front-line tanks if he ever went to war with the heroes, the ones who would be to the heroes what an average nomu is to an ordinary hero, and accordingly, he tried to make any fight with them at peak capacity as unfair a prospect as possible. AFO wants to win against the heroes, not let them have a chance at victory.

4) “As long as Endeavor manages to destroy the brain before Aizawa has to blink and the regeneration can kick-in those guys are as good as gone.

Seems… easy. Too easy in fact.”- And in another peak at how smart the High-ends are, this one not only continued in its goal of pulling Miruko away from the glass tube before she cracked it, it used that same motion to smash her into Endeavour and off its back before he could fully carbonise the head, showing it could fulfil its objective without having to sacrifice itself to achieve that. 5) “WHO STILL HASN`T BROKEN THE GLASS GODDAMMIT GIRL SHIGARAKI IS GONNA WAKE UP ANY SECOND NOW JUST KICK IT

AND I AIN`T DOUBTING ABOUT YOUR SURVIVAL INSTINCTS, BUT TRUST ME, WHATEVER DANGER YOU THINK THIS GUY IS, I`M ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU ARE UNDERESTIMATING HIM

HE IS FAR WORSE”- That frozen second of time when you lock eyes with a bigger predator and the world just seems to slow down, your perceptions going into overdrive to look for an exit point before it strikes. Even asleep, Tomura’s terrifying Miruko, and that is a serious feat after everything she’s done. 6) “okay, I knew those high-ends were considerably better than the previous generation, but holy shit man. That is way beyond “it can think”, this shit is bananas, look at that! In the blink of an eye this Nomu took notes of the situation, the people involved, and using the available data extrapolated a probable explanation to its quirks being neutralized

what the fuck, the others didn`t looked that smart. Was this unit supposed to be akin to a field commander? Is this the gimmick of this Nomu? being smarter and using that intellect to coordinate the others?”- I think all of them were, technically. Nomus capable of strategizing and directing others, whilst also possessing multiple Quirks to handle themselves directly in a fight if need be. The field commanders that could single-handedly destroy entire cities at All for one’s command. Though if any one of them was a leader, I’d have picked Helmet myself. @thelreads

If it gets confirmed that Best Jeanist is dead then that would mean Mirko would be the No.4 Hero....

If the public saw how much of a Bad Bitch Mirko was during this arc then she could get higher approval ratings than Edgeshot and become No.3....

If Hawks gets his ass handed to him by Dabi then that would mean she’d move up to No.2....

And if Shigaraki goes full All For One mode and kills then No1. Hero Endevaor... then that would mean.... Mirko would be the No.1 Hero in the new rankings....
