“Are you going to cave in and take your medicine yet?” Harry questioned after you sneezed for what seemed like the hundredth time that morning.

“No,” you croaked, voice hoarse and nasal. “I don’t need it.”

“Suit yourself,” he replied, “but at least humor me and blow your nose. I don’t want to listen to you sniffling all day.”

Begrudgingly, you held a wad of tissues up to your nose and blew half-heartedly, pulling the covers up to your chin and snuggling into Harry when you finished.

“I’m bored,” you complained, scrubbing at your nose with your wrist in an attempt to ward off more sniffles. “I want to do something.”

“What do you want to do?” Harry asked, throwing one arm around your shoulders and massaging the back of your head and nape of your neck. “We could read, watch a movie, or bake something. Whatever you’re up for.”

“I don’t know what I’m up for,” you whined. “I wish I felt better already so we could do something, do something.”

“Maybe some medicine would help,” he suggested, giving the back of your neck a soft peck as he held your hair away from it. Fanning your back softly, he asked, “Would you try blowing your nose one more time? For you and for me.”

“Harry,” you groaned in exasperation. “You just made me blow my nose.”

“I know, but-“

“It hurts!”

“Poor baby.” He sounded empathetic, but still insisted on withdrawing a few tissues from the box nestled beneath the covers with you. “Just once.”

You held the tissues to your face and blew a few times until he gave you a nod of contentment. “Finally.”

“Thank you, baby. Good girl,” he praised you. “Breathing better will hopefully help you feel less… grumpy?”

He received a stony stare.

“Let’s watch a movie. You’re choice.”

Once the room was filled with the sounds favorite movie, Harry disappeared into the kitchen to make a bowl of microwave popcorn and two mugs of steaming herbal tea to help you feel better.

Cuddling up next to him under the covers, there was nowhere you’d rather be.

I know it's not canon at all - we're even told it's not the case in Masters - but I like to think Sycamore and Lysandre were childhood friends, along with Siebold, Malva, the Santalune sisters... 😍

i rly don't like that at all personally tbh, good on you if you do (like really!! if anything i'm glad there can be variety in how people want them to be/see them) but childhood friends are kind of boring to me i'd rather have them meet as adults 💔 even having them meet like e.g. in school later on in their late teens/twenties i don't rly like either honestly . i know it's a thing people commonly like tho!! it's just not my thing

i do headcanon lysandre n malva as being related tho so there is that

Pokémon: Paldea's Best Cat Café!

Our protagonist graduated from Naranja Academy as part of the Arts track, specifically music and dance. After graduating, she decided to travel the Pokémon World for her art, and ended up taking in several Pokémon—specifically, cat Pokémon—across her travels. After taking in so many, she decides to open an adoption center in her home of Paldea… and then she ends up inheriting her family’s bodega.

Thus a new idea was born: she would end up combining the winery (because bodegas in Spain are different from bodegas in Latin American communities in the US) with the adoption center and ends up starting up a cat café, with her family’s home grown wine for the grownups and coffee for the kids (because kids can drink coffee in Hispanic cultures). All the while, customers can interact with the cat Pokémon that reside there.

Meowscarada is the bodega cat, and the café’s most popular employee. No, she doesn’t help with any of the food and drinks, but she does help entertain the customers with her magic tricks. Other employees include her family’s Florges who keeps the vineyard protected, a Dachsbun to help with fermenting the wine and baking treats, and a Bewear—from her time in Alola—who is surprisingly gentle with the kitties.

As for her dance career? She still dances occasionally with her Gardevoir and Oricorio near her town’s gym center (Let’s say this town is located somewhere in East Paldea). Neither of them work at the café, but they still show up there from time to time dancing for customers. That is where she meets fellow Naranja alumni, and aspiring gym leader, who happens to be a drag queen.

Characters:

Julieta (Human, She/Her): Her abuela left behind her family’s bodega in a will, and is remembered quite fondly. She even named the new cat café Esperenaza’s in honor of her abuela. Her abuela’s memory motivates her to continue her legacy, even if she still wants to focus on her dreams of dance. (She… hasn’t been able to properly grieve yet, not even at the funeral.)

Rita (Human, She/Her in drag, They/Them out of drag): Rita was a classmate of Julieta’s at Naranja Academy. They majored in Art as well, studying Drama in particular. They idolize Tulip of their hometown of Alfornada, and aspire to achieve her level of beauty. In fact, she’s their inspiration for becoming a drag performer. They’ve had a crush on Julieta since school days, so they decided to visit her in her home town when they hear she’s coming home for good.

Cereza (Meowscarada, She/Her): She was Julieta’s starter Pokémon when first attending Naranja Academy, and has been a steadfast companion for the past fifteen years, even after her owner retired as a Pokémon trainer. She’s just as attention-seeking as she was as a Sprigatito, and sometimes feels a bit jealous of the other cats. But she knows she’s irreplaceable… even as another Sprigatito joins the café.

Carmarelo (Bewear, He/Him): Adopted as a Stufful while Julieta was performing in Alola. He still gives the deadly bear hugs that his species is known for, but he is surprisingly gentle with the cats. He has a particular affection for the new Sprigatito that joins the café.

Valencia (Florges, She/Her): Esperanza’s Florges, who misses her former owner dearly. She still keeps an eye on the vineyard behind the bodega so the Ortega wine is still as delicious as ever. She’s still getting used to having Julieta, and all of the new Pokémon, around.

Arándano (Dachsbun, He/Him): Julieta’s first ever Pokémon she caught on her journey. He and Cereza get along very well, though that might be because she was always good at making biscuits. He’s proven to be very helpful with Rosaline in the vineyard, as well as in the bodega itself with the baked goods to go with the coffee and wine.

Alessandra (Tsareena, She/Her): Another one of Julieta’s original Pokémon from her school days. She’s Julieta’s non-human dance partner who she rehearses with. She doesn’t battle much anymore, and is more into performing these days. She might have began developing a close bond with Valencia, which is the only reason she visits the bodega.

Zenaida (Gardevoir, She/Her): Caught as a Ralts by Julieta during her time in Kalos. She’s one of the last Pokémon Julieta ever trained before retiring from Pokémon training. She might not work at the café, but she does feel a sense of protectiveness on her owner as well as the cats that reside there.

“Mmm, ten more minutes,” Shawn hummed with an adorably lopsided smile, his morning voice low and groggy, as he swatted your hand away from his head. With his eyes still closed against the early morning light, he pulled you close to his chest.

You felt his chest vibrate with the chuckle that escaped from his lips, causing you to giggle as you continued to pepper his face and neck with kisses. “I thought I told you to wake me up,” you reminded him, your eyebrows arched playfully.

“I thought you told me to sleep in as long as I wanted,” he retorted, adding, “Plus, it’s no fun if I don’t get to wake up to this pretty face.” He reached out and squished your face gently in his hands.

You squished his, too, not wanting him to get the final squish, and sank back into the pillows behind you as a contented blush flooded your cheeks.

Your fiancé shook his head playfully as he reached over your shoulder and tugged on your ponytail lightly. “If I could, I would drink that smile right off your mouth.”

Only one silent moment later your peace was disturbed by a persistent poking at your ribs. “Baby. Babe. Baby. YYYYY/NNNNN.”

“What?”

“Look over there,” Shawn pointed, and like putty in his hands, your head swiveled right into his hands. Before you could think, your lips were being smothered in sloppy, affectionate kisses.

“Shawn.” you feigned annoyance at his behavior, but he responded only with a smirk and a shrug. “Baby, you have to let me get up and ready now since you were too busy obeying me to obey me.”

“Fine,” he replied, pouting slightly as he lifted up the covers to let you get up. “I’ll be in the studio until you’re ready for me. Gimme one last kiss before you go.”

You leaned down and wrapped an arm around his shoulders as you blessed his lips with a warm, heartfelt kiss. “Happy birthday, Shawnie.”

“One more,” he called just as you’d turned around. “I don’t think the last one took.”

You shook your head wordlessly as you leaned down to kiss his lips once again.

As soon as you pulled away, his mouth opened to ask for one more, but he stopped when he saw the expression on your face; eyebrows arched, lips pursed, adoring glitter dancing in your eyes.

“You… are… exasperating,” you mumbled between pecks.

The soft strumming of Shawn’s guitar drew you into his home studio once you’d finished putting together his last-minute birthday surprise.

He looked up when you entered the room, but didn’t stop playing, although the chords he strummed out changed ever so slightly. He began singing softly and sweetly as you squeezed into the bucket chair beside him. You recognized the song as the first song you had slow danced to as a couple.

“When you smile,” he began, “the whole world stops and stares for a while because you’re amazing just the way you are.”

“Aww,” you cooed, letting your head rest in the warm, smooth area between your fiancé’s neck and head, blinking fast and acting chipper to distract your eyes from welling up. “Good job, baby.”

The name is “Mici & Miceti” an italian play on words. In english could be roughly translated as “Felines & Fungi” or a bit better in french as “Chatons & Champignons”
