I think they'd get along
Shadow Milk seems like he'd enjoy sharing some tea (methaphorical and literal) with Cherry Blossom. The stories he tells her might be a bit biased and warped, but she's supportive either way!

I had a dream last night I danced and sung at the edge of the woods - and that the forest sang back.

The single most favourite panel in the entire series. The flowers, the shadows, Morpheus hiding, the MOON above them?! It's insane.

shadow milk is such an intriguing character to me because so many things he shows us are a facade. we see him constantly belittling other cookies, calling them "fools" and "silly", yet he himself can't seem to count to four. we see him act lighthearted and jokey, only for wrath to emanate from him as he blasphemes this world's version of gods (his whole deal with the witches is something i'd very much like to go into). we watch his performances and his own interpretation of why he was sealed away, only for the witches to go further unmentioned as the story focuses on the "fool king" (clearly bearing no resemblance to elder faerie cookie, what are you guys on about smh, it's just a sad coincidence). we don't know his true intentions- he seems to have a lot of fun tormenting pure vanilla and apparently wants his soul jam back, but has made no move to take it, instead repeatedly stating that he wants to introduce pv to the other fallen heroes once they're released. he seems on the surface like a being of chaos, but we find out how much of a perfectionist he is through the white lily/dark enchantress puppets. he twists the narrative in his favour so much that he fails to see how someone might deviate from the script, he has no qualms about turning cookies into mindless puppets or even killing them (rip elder faerie), and yet he treats the group like more of an amusement than a threat. he's smart but arrogant, able to pick apart minds while still not yet strong enough to take over pure vanilla's, and he's incredibly proficient at identifying someone's weaknesses. there's so much about him that we don't know yet, and i'm getting more tempted to make a full cohesive analysis on him by the minute

When I was a child I believed everything was possible. Sadly, I was met with adults who told me I should grow up and be responsible. They said fairy tales aren't sensible.
For a time I listened to that, thinking their worldview was reliable. When they told me my dreams and ambitions were unattainable. But then, I grew up and came to my own senses...how some adults are abominable.
Adults…many of them see in children what they’ve allowed to die inside of themselves. I know now they are very much ashamed of themselves. For that reason, they’d rather no child grows up to be happier or nobler than themselves.
I’m sure it must be envy.
I’m now a grownup, too. But unlike them, I haven’t died; not really, no. Even better, now that I’m older, I’m going to see all my dreams and ambitions come true.
And one day, when I have a child of my own, I’ll teach them to fight for their own fairy tale.
When childhood dies, its corpses are called adults and they enter society, one of the politer names of hell. That is why we dread children, even if we love them. They show us the state of our decay.
