What I really love about xwp is that Xena and Gabrielle cry countless of times onscreen and that never detracts from their badass skills and respect as warriors. They get to wear a bunch of fun outfits with their bellies showing and not be sexualized by the camera because they're shown as people with complexities and personalities and a driving narrative force. Media should really learn from this. Characters of all genders should have this, where are more of these shows?

Hi, am thinking about Harley and Ivy gardening and setting up Ivy's greenhouse together because they should be allowed to embrace each other's passions and build each other up and help with the other's plans 💖💖 instead of it being an unnecessary sexist and ooc hurdle

Cause really, Harley would love doing anything with Ivy and would 1000% count gardening with her as dates. It's daily dates! 💞🥺

She loves everything about her enchanting, plant obsessed lady. Ivy sees cool moss and is like !! Moss!! ❤️❤️ And Harley matches her enthusiasm not cause she loves moss but because she loves Ivy. And Ivy being happy and excited about something inherently is gonna make Harley happy because she loves it when her partners are thriving.

If she can help in that, she jumps at the chance. She may mess up and get distracted, but she loves and listens and notes what little things makes them tick because they're special to her.

And then in the end, even though she wasn't able to obtain the tree because of the guard robot, her snake swallowed a couple of rare seeds and hacked them up on Ivy's floor. A bit gross, sure, but Ivy's delighted!

"These--These are gargantua seeds! Some of the rarest in the world! Stolen from their rightful homes centuries ago, and all but extinct! Genuine man-eating trees! This is better than anything I could have dreamed of! Thank you!"

the plants probably reacted to Ivy's emotions whenever they were there before, there together. Just the two of them, nude, vulnerable and completely and utterly alone besides the other, far far beneath the world above.

Just the idea of casual vines, grass and ferns brushing lovingly against Harley's legs and arms as they walk together, a perfectly bloomed flower and it's stem wrapping around her bicep.

The two of them spending each night together in the bud of a rose Ivy grew, entrained and intertwined for warmth and comfort. The two of them gently washing each other's backs in the river, skinny-dipping in the dark and getting lost in the feeling of each other's skin against their own.

Ivy creating this perfect escape for them where they didn't have to worry about anything, money, food, cruel and vindictive ex's.

Batman (2016) #98 And if Harley ever did get too cold, if they happened to venture down in the colder months, the No Clothes Rules could always be fudged to mean no Human World clothes. She could craft her clothes just like she makes her own outfits.

But, really, they both enjoy the freedom and intimacy that comes from being fully exposed and naked around each other, the inherent vulnerability and trust.

And Harley always feels okay and loved in her presence, never feels like she needs to cover up her body, because Ivy has and would never make jokes about her body (she's not him.)

And Ivy's affection and sometimes shy nature when it comes to that direct deceleration is always evened out by the connected plants easy nature to show exactly how she's feeling. Like,, If she feels nervous about holding Harley's hand, well she better get on it because those pretty ferns that look purple and blue in the right light will not stop wrapping around her and tickling Harley's palms.

Even in the night, they'll wake up curled together, most of the time in the spooning position, but Harley always has a little visitor or two attempting to warm her alongside Ivy. It makes Ivy flush every time as she wills them away, but Harley loves it and she treasures the fact that Ivy trusts her so much, and loves her so deeply that her connection to the plant life around them is tuned in to the sheer overwhelming emotion she feels towards and about Harley every time she lays eyes on her silly little clown.

Harley wouldn't mention it, but she'd know. She is trained to notice those things 💞

I think I've just read the most heart worming batman fic like no, I sear I still feeling like I a need to cry or something (even though I do feel I cried a bit and I'm not the crying type of person when it comes to fanfic but OH MY GOD this one really touched me) and also can't stop thinking of bats/Bruce being besties with Harley, cause this was basically the plot of the story (friends to enemies to friends again) and their friendship was SOOOO CUUUUUUTE.

Harley's an emotional clingy drunk after that third margarita, but Rick's not complaining

So, this was inspired by one of those angsty prompt lists here on tumblr and the lines I specifically used were "Please come get me" and "Sit tight, I'll be right there". Yeah, basically, Rick thinks something bad happened but Harley just got really drunk and emotional and missed him. You're welcome.

Rick’s dozing on the couch when his phone buzzing jolts him awake. He snatches it off the coffee table and squints at the bright screen. It’s a message from Harley.

“Please come get me”.

He automatically assumes the worst and gets off the couch and gets his shoes on as he types out a reply.

“Where are you?”

He gets a response by the time he’s out the door and sends a message back.

“Sit tight, I’ll be right there”.

The sight that greets him at the club, however, is not what he expects. He expects Harley to be having a panic attack in the bathroom. What he sees is Harley laughing and having a great time with her friends, seemingly.

One of them notices him approaching and nudges Harley to get her attention. She turns around and her whole face lights up before she starts rushing towards him. He braces for impact as she launches herself into his arms—arms around his neck and legs around his waist. He shoots a confused look at her group of roller derby friends, who just shrug in response. Although one does comment, “Wow you’re actually real. Half expected her to be lying.”

He focuses his attention back on his girlfriend, who’s currently nuzzling her nose into his neck and trying to get as close to him as possible—which is impossible given the fact that she’s wrapped around him like a spider monkey.

“Uh… you okay, Harls?”

“Yeah,” she sighs happily. “I just missed ya.”

“You missed me?”

“Wouldn’t shut up about you for over two hours,” one of her friends complains. “To anyone who would listen. And even some who wouldn’t.”

“What’d she say about me?” he asks, suddenly very curious. He knows how chatty drunk Harley can be and he’d rather not be arrested tonight.

“Oh, just about how amazing and badass—”

“He literally almost killed my ex with his bare hands, it was sexy as fuck!” Harley yells, before burying her face back into his neck.

“—and how great you are in the bedroom,” her friend finishes.

“I swear to god it was ten!” she picks her head up to yell over her shoulder. “He made me count ‘em!”

He can feel his face heating and quickly decides to change the subject. “How many margaritas have you had, Harls?”

“Um… four?”

That explains a lot. Harley has a tendency to turn into an emotional clingy drunk after that third margarita. Not that he’s complaining—he secretly adores clingy Harley.

“Okay, let’s get you home, Harls,” he says, as he makes a move to set her down—but she tightens her grip on him.

He sighs and asks one of her friends to hand him her purse. He slings it over his shoulder and makes sure he has a good grip on her before carrying her through the club and out the door.

They’re halfway down the block where the car is when she starts nibbling on his ear and telling him, “Take me home, Colonel.”

Because, oh yeah, that’s right—she’s also a horny drunk.

He sighs as he unlocks the car. “Harls, we both know you’re just gonna pass out as soon as we get home.”

She actually ends up passing out before they even make it home. She stirs a little bit as he unbuckles her seatbelt but remains asleep as he carries her up to their apartment. He carefully maneuvers her out of her clubbing outfit and into one of his t-shirts before tucking her under the covers. He goes to the kitchen to get a glass of water and the bottle of painkillers and puts them on her nightstand before getting himself ready for bed and sliding under the covers with her.

He’s up bright and early the next morning and goes about getting ready to go to the gym—quietly, so as not to wake Harley, who’s still dead to the world.

He hears a groan from behind him as he’s pulling on a shirt and then Harley’s groggy voice mumbling, “Ugh, I wanna climb ya like a tree right now but I feel like I’m gonna puke and my head is killing me.”

He chuckles and goes over to the bed. He kisses her forehead and tells her, “Ibuprofen’s on the nightstand. I’ll be back in two hours.”

He comes back bearing two of Sal’s signature egg sandwiches and they spend the rest of the day cuddling on the couch while Harley nurses her hangover.

Is their relationship over the top and a little unorthodox? Maybe, but Rick wouldn’t trade it for the world.

You know Harley Quinn and Scarecrow on paper have the same mental strength of being highly emotionally intelligent, it’s what makes their talent as villains their ability to manipulate people using their emotional weaknesses. They’re skilled at gaslighting and their relative small stature and disarming manner (Harley being bubbly and visibly air-headed and Jonathan being soft-spoken and visibly meek) makes people underestimate their intelligence and capacity for violence. Generally, Batman’s most believable manner of defeating Scarecrow or Harley Quinn has always been overpowering them, whether physically or through sheer willpower.

Their main difference is actually how Harley and Jonathan relate to that intelligence. The difference actually speaks to their abilities as psychiatrists and therapists because the disconnect is that Jonathan can emotionally detach himself and Harley can’t. A hallmark of a really good therapist is being able to process someone’s emotions, understand and even empathize with them, but remain detached enough that you don’t make their emotional problems your own.

The part that’s really scary about Scarecrow’s ability to detach is he’s so good at it he can canonically force the Arkham doctors to break their own detachment. Harley’s on the opposite end where her inability to detach harms her abilities as a therapist, but she can leverage them to force a detachment break from a doctor.

It’s just a fun note that the two major rogues with psychology degrees are given a skillset that matches their educational background, but that they’re still differentiated by how they use that skillset.
