controversial lesbian opinion but i don’t like jodie comer

here’s why:

firstly obviously she’s very talented and beautiful and i did like her as villanelle but something about her vibe is just off. the way she treats/reacts to her largely queer fan base seems distasteful to me. she’s a straight woman who took a gay role that made her famous yet she wants to distance herself from it and gay audiences. i personally don’t love when straight people play gay characters but that’s not my point.. my point is that it’s not okay to profit so much from a community you don’t support or respect. she also dated a republican for 3+ years so there’s that. i know people try to say she doesn’t like her gay fans because they got mad about her dating said republican but it’s way more than that and started before that all came to light. i’ve also see several instances of her just being rude to fans. i really did want to like her especially when she was more popular in wlw spaces. does anyone else think similarly? i feel like the only queer girl that has the ick for her. someone convince me to like her because i really want to be a fan

fascinating that the biphobes, who say that BG3 companions are not accurate as bisexuals/pansexuals, literally haven’t played the game!! they don’t know the characters or who they flirt with and choose to sleep with.

i just want to say one last thing about this whole byler vs rovickie situation. i am not obligated to like a ship just because it’s a sapphic ship. there is nothing interesting (at least to me) about rovickie (vs ronance and elmax let’s say which i actually like) there shouldn’t be this expectation to like this ship that consists of two secondary character, one who’s only purpose (so far) is to be a main character’s lesbian friend and the other who was only introduced in the recent season and doesn’t even have a last name. versus, byler, that has been building up for 4 seasons, full of tension, drama, yearning, heartbreak, tenderness and all of the above.

the reason why rovickie probably didn’t get an article is because…how the hell are you supposed to write one when the ship only has 3 scenes???? it’s just not even close to byler and it’s ship dynamics and robin and vickie are nowhere near the level of development and importance as characters as mike and will. most casual watchers aren’t even watching the show for vicki and robin so why write an entire article about them???? im sure if they were main characters, they would be more interesting to the public and thus generate more traction to an article. but they are not. so here we are.

plus, let’s not kid ourselves milevens. you do not care for sapphic ships at all. with people shipping elmax, you say people shouldn’t ship it because “el is with mike”. plus you try and make every elmax moment about mileven anyways so i know you don’t actually care. you just want a reason to hate byler and if anything, it makes you even more homophobic.

Sigh. I've seen this take a lot due to JJK fandom becoming more like MHA fandom in the past few months. And frankly, I'm tired of bad takes. So I'll say this:

Yuta and Maki from JJK 0 make sense due to how they push each other for the better without it being forced or toxic. Maki pushed Yuta to be stronger after Rika kept "protecting" him from dangers. Whilst Yuta was the first to show Maki affection, get her used to love, and gave her a taste of someone actually caring for her due to her being belittled in the Zenin Clan her entire life. Hence why we saw her get flashbacks to how she was treated back then, and then showcasing her being flustered. They both help each other get used to what they've been needing, and their dynamic is overall well written and actually makes sense. There are also many hints, details, emotions, etc which I can go more into but I won't make this too long.

However, one thing: just because they had only one volume or are a heterosexual ship doesn't mean that they are badly written, forced, or anything like that. JJK fans just can't even see hints that are right in front of them. And as I said, slowly becoming more like MHA fandom.
