do you have any advice for getting better at writing? More specifically, any books, lectures, or talks about writing that you would recommend?
i know i'm not gonna be able to give a super satisfying answer here because i don't really read/watch much on the topic of getting better at writing. the most important book in my early development as a writer was Stephen King's On Writing, which does a very good job distilling the essence of the job to certain tools in a toolkit and helped me come to terms with how disposable a lot of my writing is. i recently picked up Steering the Craft by Ursula K Leguin, because i read Left Hand of Darkness for the first time and it rewired my brain. i haven't spent much time with it because it's meant to be an exercise book that you write along with, but i feel it will be useful.
otherwise, i know from experience and from the mouths of many other writers that the only way to get better at writing is to write more. a big part of my early development came from a desire to always push myself with each project. if i detected a weakness in one story, i wanted my next thing to be about that weakness in some way. i pushed myself to write more dialect, to switch tenses and persons, to go out of my comfort zone and write from the perspective of (GASP) a woman. things of this nature. much of what resulted from those exercises was not particularly good, but that's not really the point. you do the best you can in the moment, but never let yourself feel wholly satisfied. there are always improvements to be made, new ideas to explore, more diverse modes of expression to play with.
i'd say the best thing you can do when looking for writing advice is to look to the writers whose stuff you like. i guarantee anyone who's been published will have a talk available on youtube somewhere. in the past i've gone ga-ga for the lectures of Neil Gaiman and China Mieville, because i like their books and wanted to know how that sausage got made. understanding other people's process is a good way to understand your own. pay attention to things you identify with, but pay especial attention to the things you feel a natural disagreement with. a procedural thing, say, that just doesn't make sense to you. a BIG part of becoming a better writer, in the "maintaining a self-confidence equilibrium" sense, is recognizing what parts of the process are yours. whatever it is the comes naturally to you, that draws you in, you'll invariably have strong opinions about that someone in some writing institution or other would tut-tut at. i find it's very difficult to really take something worthwhile from criticism unless you know what you're about on some level. i have a pretty good sense at this point of my strengths and weaknesses as a writer; i know the difference between a qualitative misstep and a choice that won't resonate with every reader.
it helps if you can find some like-minded people to write with in a low-stakes environment. or maybe not low-stakes! the only read i ever finished my first novel was because i was writing towards a contest deadline. deadlines can be good! but sharing stories around with some friends and giving each other feedback is a great way to build up some confidence. collaborating on a shared world or story can be immensely rewarding, as long as you don't go into it expecting to make money or get famous. don't put pressure on yourself to Make A Real Thing On A Schedule unless you really trust the people you're working with and have had a lot of conversations about professional conduct.
but otherwise, it all comes back to write more. don't be afraid to leave a graveyard behind you of countless unfinished works. the vast majority of things i started writing from when i was 14 to like 25 i never finished, then i finished a book and almost never wrote again. it's all part of the process, and it's not linear or obvious in any meaningful way. the trickiest part, for me, is learning how to write for your current project even when you don't feel the ~passion~ and ~inspiration~. and that's just a matter of time and honesty and elbow grease.
all any writer can ever tell you is how *they* write. they can give you signposts and guides and best practices, but ultimately no one will ever be able to teach *you* how to write for *yourself*. that only comes with practice. but it's doable and very worth the doing, in my opinion

i’m not very good with words… i’m an anon that’s been here before. More than once. I didn’t mention that I was coming back or anything, but the advice you gave me was… calming. What I needed. Multiple times.
Anyway, you must get a bunch of these, but thank you
I don’t like social media and half the time I regret getting it. I mean, if you even count tumblr as social media.
It drains my trust in human kindness and if I have to explain why saying something transphobic hurts trans people one more time I swear i’m going to send hate.
And I’ve never done that (i won’t actually send hate, unfortunately I have a conscience…)
So yeah, I dunno, just thank you. Really.
Every time someone feels safe enough to be honest on your blog it adds together. And together, with the anons and the readers, you’ve saved people.
Every person who asked your help only felt able because you made them feel safe, made your blog a community, a safe space.
And even just being able to say it, even if it’s the internet, is so important. And you’re giving people that.
I don’t know if you get hate, but I imagine everyone with bigger blogs do at least a little, but I hope you remember that you’ve helped so many people.
I assume you have bad days, like everyone else, and I hope you know that you’ve clearly built a community here. That you’ll still have even if you can’t go on tumblr as often or you write something “bad” (which I highly doubt, your advice is as amazing as your microfics… so absolutely incredible), because part of having peoples back means they have yours too.
And you know, one day, when my problems don’t hurt like they do now and i’m looking back on this time of my life with mixed feelings, i’ll remember you and your advice. People will remember you, and I think that’s cool.
Sorry this was so long, I just needed to give you a meaningful thank you, you made a difference for me. And a lot of others.
So thank you. I didn’t have anyone to go to when I sent a random anon ask. And simply writing and sending it helped. Saying it helped. Reading it helped. Knowing another person read it helped. Then getting advice, knowing someone cares enough to try and help me, it meant a lot.
So thank you (again) Cas 🤗 You must put a lot of effort into this, it must be hard sometimes. Thank you.
Can I just say, I've read this twice now, right? And you literally made me cry. Like I joke a lot about fandom content making me cry and stuff like that but I actually have a hard time crying sometimes, even when I'm feeling emotional. I bottle things up a lot and it becomes a problem. But this made me cry.
I got some bad news today and I literally have just been feeling so bad about myself for the past few hours. Like, this news just kind of pushed me back in a lot of my work to love myself.
But this note made me feel so much better.
I think one of the reasons that I LIKE doing this so much is like you said- people remember when someone does something nice, especially when they're feeling down. You don't have to do a lot to help someone, just enough to remind them that they're cared about.
So, yeah. Thank YOU for doing that for me today. I really needed it.
Also I took screenshots of this. I'm saving it for when I need something to cheer me up.

I meant to make this forever ago but here are my gay titan headcanons for pride month
Dick Grayson
The man is definitely bi. Growing up with bruce, he never got a chance for any kind of meaningful relationship and wasn't like other kids with internet access (or however that worked, I mean he's around my mom's age and her generation all had like flip phones in highschool or whatever) or "the talk" or really anything pertaining to sexuality. And instead of not realizing it until adulthood, he kinda just took it as it's completely normal because he never saw anything special about it. Bruce was always supportive of any pride marches going on which made him feel safe but they always had this mutual understanding that didn't make anything need to be said out loud
He may look sexy as fuck all the time but it's all a show, he's so asexual. I've always kinda took this as canon even though nothing like that was mentioned or shown, and he slept with kori pretty early on but nevermind that. He's not out to anyone because he didn't know asexuality was a thing, but more on that later with another character I headcanon as ace :-)
When he does figure it out though he comes out publicity rather quickly and the internet goes wild, leaving his teammates to find out through twitter
Conner being the sweet guy he is congratulates him
Koriand'r
On Tamaran, no one is really aware of sexuality as a society, but just that a princess needs her prince and things like that (I don't know much about Tamaran, I could be wrong in canon but this is headcanon) but they do have the capacity for sexuality. Kori comes to earth and discovers human sexuality and doesn't really understand any of it and tries to figure out what she is but comes to the conclusion that it's VERY confusing but by god does she love dick grayson
Gar Logan
He's very much pansexual. He's always struggled with coming out to people, half of him thinking 'it's so obvious but they never said anything so they must be homophobic but deal with me for titans business' and 'they think I'm straight and I should come out' but rachel helps him, they are mspec solidarity
He comes out officially to the public during pride month which causes the rest of the titans to come out and make their statements which makes the world go crazy
He comes out to the team by donning a bunch of pan pride merch and hanging up a flag in his room and eventually they take notice and ask what it's about he makes a big show out of it and kori makes him a pan colored cake with the help of rachel because he was so excited about it
When he and rachel officially room together, they fold their pride flags in half to combine them on the wall
He is also asexual. I don't get sexual attraction so almost everyone is asexual. Like me he doesn't get the hype around it so he doesn't make a big deal about it like his pansexuality. He comes out because jason makes a joke about him and rachel now sharing a room and he just goes "huh? oh, no, me and rachel don't do that. I'm asexual :D" thus prompting dick to talk to gar in private and explain to him, and he doesn't show it but he's very excited and goes to tell kori
Rachel Roth
She is so bi without a doubt. When she comes out with the titans, people give her a lot of shit for being in a committed relationship with a man while being bi but she responds to all public backlash just getting increasingly more obnoxious with it. Think like aggressively chaotic videos in response to trolls to Lady Gaga songs and hanging pride flags from the tower every June
Jason Todd
Look at this man and tell me he's not bi. You can't. I know I've headcanoned like everyone as bi but that's because I'm projecting
He gets a boyfriend and thinks he's keeping it a secret but he's really bad at it
He acts like he's going out with a girl but has no idea how to act with a guy, so he asks the titans very obvious advice that just gets worse the more he tries to cover it up
Bruce knows it from the start pretty much because he's always acted like a tool who only cared about showing off everything batman and titan related when he dated girls but he actually appears genuine, so it must mean he's gay
One evening he tells the titans he's going on a date and rachel goes "with your boyfriend?"
Then they convince him to take his date to the tower to meet them which ends up being the best date he's ever been on
Conner Kent
At first he has no concept of sexuality because he starts out when he broke out of the lab with the emotional mind of a toddler
As he "grows up" he learns more about sexuality it kinda confuses him and finds he's unlabeled
Sexuality is hella confusing for him because all his pre existing knowledge comes from Clark Kent and Lex Luther and it's not like he inherited their sexuality and he never got to grow up and experience life
He's one of the titans who isn't exactly out about their sexuality, but that's because he doesn't label himself and currently that's only a concern to komand'r
His girlfriend is unlabeled too for the same reasons as kori and Conner has the biggest himbo bi wife energy despite being the smartest human-ish alive
I kinda gave everyone the same headcanons but please reblog with your headcanons I'd love to see them <3

SOMEONE ASKED ABOUT MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS
Oh god where to even begin.
I consider custom keyboards to be in that specific niche of "luxury functional" devices. Folks may recall I got mine basically as a gift from my very very kind followers when I was in the midst of writing KTOWL on a fucking cramped Surface keyboard that was actively fucking up my wrists. I wanted to get something that was a meaningful investment, that I could use to write a metric fuckton of words without worrying so much about fucking RSIs.
And now I have TWO because my bro Treeprince bought me another, so I have one for work and one for writing and they are fantastic.
Tumblr media
Top: NovelKeys NK87 Entry Edition kit, Jukebox MT3 keycaps from Drop, Akko Wine Red pre-lubed switches. Bottom: NovelKeys NK65 kit, Timeless Violet Cherry keycaps from Keebmonkey, NK Silk Olivia pre-lubed switches (included in kit).
Okay so what the fuck does that mean?
When you get into this hobby, you are probably going to first Buy a completed keyboard kit then modify it to your tastes later. This is what I did! I got the NK67 Olivia Kit, which came as a full assembled ready to go keyboard in a cute carry case, and I plugged it in and I started typing! Then I bought another keycap set and then Andy got the MT3 Jukeboxes so Tree got me another kit and blah blah.
Once you have a keyboard, the physical case and the brain/PCB you can swap out two things: Keycaps and Switches. This is where the heavy customization come into play.
Lets talk about Switches first.
Switches are these guys.
Tumblr media
They sit underneath the keycaps and they are the thing you press on that touches the brain/PCB of the board and makes the letter appear on your screen. Switches are what make a keyboard mechanical. If you are typing on a normal low price keyboard, you are probably typing on a Membrane Keyboard, which has a sheet of rubbery plastic rather than actual switches.
It took me a long time to figure out that I hated membrane because it kind of hurt my fingers? Like to make the key appear, I would have to FULLY press down on the key and bottom it out and it didn't have any resistance and getting into the habit of pressing every single key as hard as I could-- look, I write several thousands words a day. That fucking hurts after a while.
The difference with switches is that they are a tiny mechanism with a spring that bounces back up. They have an actuation point where the keystroke registers. They have different 'weights' that determine how hard you have to press to reach the actuation point. They also have three main "types":
Linear, Tactile, and Clicky
Clicky: Has an extra plastic bit in the switch housing that MAKES MORE NOISE, these guys are MEANT to be loud. They are imo annoying but they definitely have their fans.
Linear: Smooth press and return, straight up and down. Quietest switch.
Tactiles: The way the mechanism of the switch works, they give you a "tactile bump" when you press and release them. Someone once described it as like popping bubble wrap, the bit of resistance and then the break and bounce back.
You're probably going to want Tactiles or Linears, but if you want a rundown of all three types and more details, here:
youtube
There are also like… fancy boutique switches? Like you will probably hear people talking about shit like the BOX JADES and the HOLY PANDAS and the UT4 BOBAS and such. That's…. high level hobby stuff and really expensive and I would not worry about it.
My advice for starting out with switches is get either some NovelKey Silks or some Akkos. Both are more budget options (especially the Akkos) that give you a customized experience without requiring you to pay out the fucking nose.
Lets take a look at the ones I am typing on right now:
Tumblr media
These are the Akko Wine Reds Lubed.
LUBING IS A HUGE DEAL TO THE KEEB HOBBY. Lubing makes a dramatic difference in the sound that the switches make. Like, enormous. It softens and widens the noise profile of the switch and makes the feel better. Now, if you hang around Keeb community spaces, they swear up and down you need to handlube your switches, with is a literally actually hours long arduous process in which you dismantle every single tiny switch, take some mechanical lube and a lil paintbrush, and you lube every single fucking nope nope nope fuck that nope. I'm not doing it and I don't think you should be doing it. SO instead, just get pre-lubed switches. I have them and they're fine.
So my Wine Reds are Linear, so they don't give me a 'tactile bump' and move smoothly. They require a force of 43gf to press, which is how hard you need to push for it to move. High force is, like, 70. Low low low force is like 30. If you're like me and don't want ur fingers to hurt, its tempting to go super low, but that can lead to mistyping, so resist the urge. Between 40 and 60 is probably good. And the pre-travel is how far you are pushing before the key stroke happens. You don't want that to be too far either but if its too short than you can mistype. Mines 1.9mm and that feels fine.
There are MANY options out there for switches. Here are the ones I researched and was seriously considering for myself before getting my Wine Reds:
AKKO:
Lavender Purple (Tactile, VERY popular cheap switch)
TCC Bluish White (Tactile, bit too much force for me but might be nice for Spacebar/Modifier keys)
Matcha Green (Linear, but force is 50g so it's up there, but apparently feels great to type on)
NovelKeys:
NK_Silk Olivias (came with my first keeb! Linear, low force needed, really nice and quiet)
NK_Cream BOX (has a wider stem which in theory makes for a more steady press, linear)
Kailh BOX Royal (Tactile, actuates at 45g force, bottoms at 70g, that sounds interesting for like spacebars and modifers I think)
There's also a ton of Drop but I'm not interested in Super Fancy ones like the Holy Pandas. They sound Fine to me in all the videos but idk I'm cheapass.
Also if you wanna do Akko, some fucking HERO AND LEGEND did a fastpaced review of nearly every single Akko switch and it's AMAZING.
youtube
OKAY BUT YOU DON'T SEE THE SWITCHES ONCE THEY ARE ON THE KEEB BECAUSE THEY WILL BE COVERED BY
KEY CAPS
This is the fun part. Keycaps are the thinks you probably think of as keys. They are the physical things you are bouncin' your fingers on, and they come in a lot of colors and profiles (shapes) and they are always way more expensive than you think will be.
Tumblr media
quality is bad but you get the idea
Only you are going to know what kind of keycaps you want and there are a metric fuckton so here's general advice:
SEARCH FOR IN-STOCK KEYCAPS. The Keeb community is fucking weird in that they do this thing called "group buys" which are overpriced limited runs on super special keycaps. You buy into them during the Interest Check period and then you get them in the mail after they're actually made. This can take anything from 3 months to over 2 fucking years. Just… don't. Look for in-stock shit. There's plenty around.
ABS vs PBT. These are the materials the keys are made of. Generally speaking it seems PBT is better, it doesn't get that finger smudge shine as quickly, but there's still plenty of good ABS out there.
I would really really really recommend trying to buy from a US-located company because the fucking shipping is atrocious otherwise. Buy fron Drop or Novelkeys, and you're going to get your stuff in a week or less. Buy from KBRepublic and you'll be paying out the ass for shipping and it'll get there in 2 months. (Or will be cancelled 40 days after you ordered them and you'll have to put in a ticket for a refund, just buy from your continent, jfc.)
As usual, Akko has AMAZINGLY well-priced options and a lot of their stuff is on Amazon. If you can, get their shit from Amazon. I ordered my Wine Reds direct and they took 3 agonizing weeks and in that time the Wine Reds came back into stock on Amazon. SIGH.
PROFILES MATTER but you probably won't know what you like. At the moment I have three keycap sets, SA/MT3, DSA, and Cherry. Cherry and OEM are the ones you are probably used to unless you are using shitty chiclet keys. I like my Cherry profiles alright (you can see them in my photo, the smaller keeb) but I am IN LOVE with my MT3s. They have a lil scoop on top on the cap that my finger lands in when I press and it makes touch-typing easier. Love them to death. But this is going to be ENTIRELY preference. Here's a chart:
Tumblr media
There are so many ADORABLE looking DSA/XDA caps but the typing experience would suck imo.
Also Cherry caps are noisier than my SA/MT3s. (MT3 is a mod of SA, they're on Drop, blah blah.)
SO WHAT TO BUY, WHERE TO START
i have no idea, what do you want?
I have the NovelKeys NK65 and NK87 kits and I love them and they feel INCREDIBLY sturdy and come with carry cases so I can safely take them to work (I do a lot of data entry, these help).
Spacehussy got the Drop Alt and is extremely happy with their build, you can see it over here.
Whatever you get, you WANT TO GET "HOTSWAP". This means you can swap the switches on the fly. If it does not say hotswap, you will be stuck with your switches or you will have to DESOLDER THEM to get them off. Ick.
If you want a budget option, I'm not gonna lie, this guy's video covers a lot of very cheap, very good basics well. Those keebs with the removeable skirt you can spraypaint? Holy shit that's genius.
youtube
(He sounds VERY YOUTUBEY but he knows wtf he's talking about and is frankly way less pretentious than uh some other options. I love to listen to Hipyotech but boy is he kind of a snob.)
Here's just some options you might like that were on my wishlist when I was still researching keebs:
Tumblr media
Keydous NJ80 Bluetooth RGB Hot-Swappable Keyboard
This one is fully built at 200$, you can get it cheaper as a barebones kit if you know you wanna buy your own caps/switches. It's got a knob!
Tumblr media
Womier TKL RGB Hot-Swappable Acrylic Mechanical Keyboard
I don't personally like the ALL GLOWY thing but a lot of people want a big brick that glows. Voila, this is one of those! And Womier has a good reputation.
Tumblr media
AKKO 3068B Plus
AKKO is the king of budget and that's really all there is to say on the matter.
GENERAL STORES I HAVE BOOKMARKED
I have an entire fucking folder of Keeb bookmarks, it's dreadful.
DROP (boards, switches, the fabled MT3 keycaps but WAIT FOR A SALE jfc)
NovelKeys (boards, caps, switches, kits, everything, also is in the US and has good labor practices which matters to me)
VENDOR LIST (this is just a list of trusted vendors AND its organized by where they are located so if you are trying to avoid long shipping times, this is hella useful)
Keychron (extremely sturdy, well-priced boards with extremely ugly caps. good starting point if you know you're gonna want to customize)
CannonKeys (everything shop, kinda pricy but you'll find fancy caps here as well as the infamously good Bakaneko boards)
KineticLabs (keycaps that aren't outrageously priced)
KPrepublic (ENORMOUS selection, but based in China so shipping times are gonna suck, ppl say if you go to their AliExpress shop you can get some things cheaper)
KBDfans (HUUUUUGE selection and has a lot of prebuilts and they will ADD MODIFICATIONS to the board as they build it but you will be paying for each fucking mod, but if you have cash to burn and want someone to lube everything and tape mod it and add foam for you, this is the place. lots of everything. also apparently is cheaper thru Ali.)
r/mk is the hobby's hub but let me warn you right away: these people are fucking snobby snob snobs. come here to look at pretty pictures or to ask specific questions in the daily thread.
there's a ton more but i've been working on this post for like 4 hours now so bye

If you’re still open for these can I request 20 for all the Black Bulls… or any member of your choice :d
Hiya Cyroo! ASFSAT all the Bulls! This shall be a mighty feat /lh :P And I shall place the majority of the answer under the cut (I hope I didn't forget anyone)
will contain manga spoilers!
Luck has also already been answered, so I shall include the link ^^
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn’t matter?
Luck
Magna
Similarly as with Luck, though I enjoyed the kind of "rivarly"/bickering/"you're a bastard but you're my bastard" vibe that the MagLuck duo has brought into the series, I'm not sure, if in the later episodes, they are anymore The Perfect Friends For Each Other(tm). Which is probably a hot take in this fandom, but ... I think that their friendship has changed over the course of the series. As in, they started with this destructive duo, who just constantly pushed each other's buttons, but now, I think, it's more about a kind of "rivalry" as well. I mean, as in the Luck reply I gave, when Magna wasn't admitted to go to Heart to train, he (Magna) was devastated. And Luck, he could see that Magna was really upset by it, but said something along the lines of "it's something he's gotta deal with by himself". Which wasn't meant as a "you're on your own" type of a statement, but rather that they both knew that there was something that Magna needed to do in order to grow stronger, and that something wasn't something that anyone else could do for Magna. As in, sure, someone could help Magna in that growth and development (and someone did; Zora), but from that I got the sense that Luck has been kinda driving Magna forward. Almost like... if we go via a metaphoric way, Luck would have climbed a tree, and was holding a cupcake, which Magna wanted, and now Magna is climbing the tree trunk with his sheer willpower. I'm not saying that Magna's friendship with Luck wouldn't be meaningful, I mean, they have a freaking combo spell! How rare and cool is that! But what I mean to say is that I'm not sure if the two are growing apart, and if they're The Ideal Besties For Each Other(tm) anymore. In terms of energy, I could see Asta and Magna connecting, but I doubt that canon itself will go to that direction. Personally, I see a lot of the same themes in Asta and Magna, Asta with his entire character arc from a boy with no magic, forging his way to be the hero, and Magna, the mage who does have mana, but seems to be falling behind (specifically Luck), but then created a Soul Chain, and defeated Dante. As a side note I really liked how Jack had Magna's back in that moment, and how Jack really went "this is that guy's victory! don't go ruining it!" But who then might be the ideal bestie, I'm not sure. I do, however, like the fact that Zora and Magna connected and we see bonding between other than the usual pairings in BC.
Asta
Well, Asta is the nice guy and the hero of BC. You cannot not like the guy (at least if you get past the constant yelling XD). And I think that when choosing The Ideal Bestie for him, the "issue" is that he gets along with everybody. He's always giving encouragement or advice, or just being the voice of "we can do this!", because he has to believe that they can actually do it. It's his main character aspect. "I have to believe that it's possible, because otherwise it definitely won't happen". Asta is someone who gives. So, perhaps it'd be right to ask who'd return the same to him. And while all of the Bulls do encourage and support Asta, which is returning his kindness and friendship, I wouldn't say that any of them match with him in the bestie sense. Or, actually, Lumiere. Lumiere has a lot of the same traits. He was trying to build friendships and devices others deemed impossible. They're both kind and compassionate people, and they want only the best for those around them. While Lumiere is more gentle and soft spoken, and has interests in magical technology, and Asta is someone who built his body in place of mana from the beginning, has little to no voice control and goes for straightforward thinking, I think it's also those differences that might make them closer. I have no strong opinions about this, but... I think Asta and Lumiere might get along well.
Charmy
Charmy is one of the difficult ones, because she seems mostly invested in what she's doing. As in, she does care about the BBs, but she seems to like doing her own thing a lot. She's very independent and her need for social acceptance seems to be relatively low. But... I think, for some reason, that Sol and her could get along. Sol would cheer Charmy on for her cookings, and I'm pretty sure that Sol would also be happy to eat whatever Charmy cooks. And Sol on the other hand might take Charmy out on "adventures", meaning that they'd just go on walks or see different places togetehr (Charmy would ofc find delicious noms too). But generally speaking I have no strong opinions on Charmy's Ideal Bestie.
Grey
I had to think about this for a while, because... Grey does deserve a bestie. Poor girl has been through enough and her anxiety doesn't help with it. And while I do enjoy the Greyche ship, I do think that she'd also benefit from having a friend friend as a bestie. Of course all of the Bulls like and appreciate her; would go the ends of the world to get her back because she's one of the Bulls, but... somehow I also think that Finesse might be a good friend to her. I think that Finesse would be the kind of a calm, gentle, encouraging person who could help Grey shine and build her to her full potential. And Finesse could hear about the stories that Grey would have to tell her, adventures on which Finesse can't participate due to her condition, but at least it'd be a breath of fresh air from the mundane life at the palace. I could see them quietly sipping tea and just talking. Experiencing a quiet afternoon together; two isolated souls. Grey due to the way her family treated her, and Finesse because of her illness. Yeah, I think they'd get along just fine.
Noelle
I do like a lot of the friendships Noelle, too, has in canon. And a lot of them are different, and serve a different purpose in her story, but if I had to choose one to be her bestie, I'd probably have to say Kahono. Yes, this might have something to do with me recently having seen a lot of Noelle&Kahono friendship takes on Tumbly, but I think they'd have so much fun together. They'd encourage each other, and would get to introduce each other to different aspects of their own lives, because they are from two very different places, after all.
Yami
I actually like a lot of the friendships Yami has in canon. Although they're very different from each other. I mean, Jack is the type to rile Yami up, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a time when the two of them bickering would have caused more repair work to the kingdom than the doings of any criminals/Diamond Kingdom agents/alike. And I bet they both still remind each other about those things every now and then. What the other one broke, and "at least I didn't destroy X". Yami and Jack get a kick out of it, and clearly enjoy the rumbunctious way of their friendship, but I also like the little bits and pieces of the friendship Yami had with Ryu to be shown. But Ryu seemed like the type of a friend to reel Yami in; ground him, calm him down. Ryu is the level headed friend that Yami needed in his youth, I think. With William, I like how they tease each other, but I would call them as "pals" maybe more than "friends". Out of these friendships, however, I'm liking the idea of Ryu's and Yami's friendship, which isn't without some lighter moments and friendly teasing. But I think that they'd actually compliment each other very well too. They both can be serious when need be, and they can have some light-hearted fun as well.
Nacht
Nacht, Nacht, Nacht... oh what to do with you? /lh I kinda wanna say "Yami", but I also want to say "William". If nothing else, these tree could bond over the... events in Spade XD. But seriously speaking, I think Yami is a lot of things that Nacht used to be during his punk era. Though since then Nacht has become more cynical, granted that for very understandable reasons. However, I think it'd take a long while for them to actually become friends-friends, let alone best friends. With William... Will is a lot softer person, but I think they both have isolating aspects to their lives as well. While William has been isolated due to his scar, and the curse of it (or the curse being the scar), Nacht's scars are less visible. They both also have themes of betraying those they hold dear, although more or less unintentionally. I say "more or less" because while Will enable an attempt of a genocide, I think William wanted to have no active part in it, and instead just let Patri take full control. And Nacht... well, we know the tragedy that is the fate of the House of Faust. Nacht might never forgive Patri for what he did, and might be very vocal about how he doesn't agree with the choices William made, but... Nacht also doesn't really have the moral high ground, because... he messed with devils. He honestly couldn't have been thinking for it to end well, if he was thinking about it at all, but instead went along with his curiosity. So, William went along with Patri, and Nacht went along with his curiosity. So, if not a full on best friend type of a relationship, I think that these two would at least have a very fruitful conversation, if you could sit them down with an open mind (or at least... as open as possible).
Gordon
For Gordon, I think that him and Henry could get along really well. They're both patient, caring, soft spoken people. And ... I mean, in the manga Gordon stayed behind during the Underwater Temple arc. It would've been a perfect time for them to connect. Granted that I'm... not sure if I remember if Henry's existence was revealed by then, or if Gordon would have known about Henry. Which are two very different things. But if Gordon did know, I could imagine Gordon wanting to stay behind to also keep company to Henry, because no one should be alone. I can also imagine Gordon making a transformer doll out of the BB base, just like Henry does on a large scale.
Henry
As said above, I think that Gordon and Henry would have the patience and understanding to form a very meaningful and deep friendship. Gordon would gladly listen to Henry talk about anything, even if it'd take a bit more time. And Henry would listen to Gordon, even if he'd speak in a very very hushed tone, and most would struggle to hear what he has to say. They'd both give each other space, and there'd be no judgements passed from either side onto the other. I don't think I have a better way of explaining it.
Vanessa
Honestly, ever since the friendship fic I wrote in 2022, I've been thinking about how Vanessa and Secre could really be besties. They have so much in common, both having been caged, Secre as Nero and Vanessa in a quite literal cage; both having been isolated from the world because of it, and both choosing to be free. Sure, Nessa would be the more flirtatious one and Secre the more "nerdy" type, but those are superficial qualities in comparison. Because they both have a kind of solemn outlook to life. They both can look at it, as if from the outside, at least if it's not directly about themselves, and give good advice to people. Secre's advice might be more straightforward and "logical", while Vanessa's would be more encouraging and based on emotion, I think. But they'd be working around their own strengths, and tell people things that they would have wanted to hear for themselves, while also being truthful about their opinions/advices.
Gauche
Ah, one of the (and I say this with the due affection) asshole of the BBs. Granted that a lot of his childhood, and having grown on the streets while trying to take care of his sister after their parents were murdered by some nobles, had an effect on his personality (and we talk about the manga Gauche). He wasn't perhaps the most sociable person to begin with, but having had the life he has, I'm not surprised that he's... rough around the edges. But also, his life story is very similar to Zora's, who was also betrayed by some nobles, and knights at that. And Zora has a lot of similar coping mechanisms. They're both a bit of assholes, but they also know how hard life can be. They might not be the types of friends to do all kinds of activities together, but I think that their friendship would be based on a lot of "quiet understanding", as well as maybe drinking a mug of ale and quietly (or not so quietly) judging some of the chaos that unfolds before them. They'd also, probably, give each other hard time at times, but I mean... what real friends wouldn't? Overall, I think that these two would have a great friendship. It might not be obvious at first, but when you look at them, and past the surface of things, I think that they are very similar and would understand each other very well.
Secre
Vanessa, for the reasons mentioned above. I think that these two would understand each other so well, and while they do have differences, their stories hold achingly similar themes and fates, in which both have made difficult choices. Secre had to watch her loved one essentially be encased in stone before her eyes, and Vanessa had to watch her mother try to kill her friends over and over again. While I think that Vanessa went through more from a personal view point, Lumiere was all that Secre had, too (and Secre saw basically a war between the humans and the elves unfold). So, for her, it was her one and only friend, the only one she could rely on and with whom she stayed as a bird for over 500 years, that was sealed away. And she was there, doing the sealing.
Zora
For the reasons listed above, I think that his bestie could really be Gauche. While Zora focused a lot of his energy on being snarky at and beating the knights in their own game, and Gauche didn't seem to have any real direction in where he was going, aside of just taking care of Marie, they have many similarities. They've both been stabbed in the back by the society in an awful, awful, awful manner, and I think that they could relate to each other. They're both alley cat shaped. And I think they'd be (at least nearly) unstoppable together.

Hello. I've spent the majority of today reading through your page here, going over as much of ur content as possible. I am planning to fly out of state to my 1st SPNCon in March. First, I'd like to say thank u for all the info u have already posted. As for my question, I purchased a photo op with Jensen & I wanted to see if u had any thoughts or suggestions on how to make an impression? For example, I had the pleasure of recently meeting Jared at my local CC & I was fortunate that he did affordable autographs & photo ops for everyone who bought tickets, not just for "Gold/Silver" passes. I was so nervous when I did my autograph 1st as I'm sure u can relate, I couldn't get my words out from under my tears & excitement until I finally gasped about how much SPN helped me in my darkest times. I also got to show him my SPN tattoo & that seemed to have made the encounter a bit more meaningful as he took a few extra moments with me & when the photo op came afterwards Jared made it a bit more personal in the moment. I know the photo ops go much faster than the autographs, so it's kinda hard to make an impact but I wanted to try & make the most of the opportunity with Jensen, as Idk if I'll ever get this chance again. I'd love to make him laugh or smile somehow & maybe return a tiny fraction of the joy he gives to his fans. Thank u ur time & for any advice or thoughts!
Hi there
The photos do go fast and he does a lot. All I can say is be warm and friendly and happy. I have a feeling he always appreciates that. Obviously if you have a fun prop or pose that's quick and easy, he might twig to that and that could make an impression - but in the photo ops there's no time to chat. You have to move through pretty quickly. He's very lovely and very warm. Maybe you if just said, something like 'Thank you Jensen, this has meant so much to me' as you leave you might get something in return.
But the advice I always give to everyone is don't go in there with expectations. Don't work out in your head how the scenario is going to play out, because when it doesn't go like that, you're going to feel horribly disappointed.
Go in open to the moment however it presents itself. Enjoy the magic and energy of the room. Of the other fan's joy. Be friendly and warm with Jensen and he'll be friendly and warm back. Enjoy your time with him however it plays out. Because whether you make an impression or not, he will make an impression on you and that's the most important thing. He would be the first to say that it's all about your joy, not his. So just enjoy yourself :)
I hope that helps!

Ryen maybe you (or maybe the comments as well?) can give me some advice? You seem like such a hard working/ diligent person with all of the things that you do so I’d thought I would ask you :) How are you able to do as much as you do with work and hobbies etc. I struggle to follow a routine and that makes time management a literal disaster. I kind of drift day by day and this has made me very depressed and someone who hasn’t accomplished anything. I am 22 but have no idea what I will do with my future and no career sounds appealing. I feel like I am too dumb to get another job so I’ve been stuck at the same dead end one for almost 6 years. I only go to work 2-3 days a week and the other days are filled with distractions. And the days I am off I stay in my room and don’t talk to any friends or family cause I don’t really have that many and it seems exhausting to go out. So I’m not very productive and I’m not proud of myself much either. How are you able to accomplish so much and have a lot of energy to do as much as you do? You probably get burnt out but how do you manage to actually get up and do it. Also sorry if this is a lot!
Hey, love🫂 as diligent as I may seem, there are definitely times where I find myself on the couch wondering where the time went🤣 it’s not always go go go for me, either! My body just tells my brain to chill for a gd second and then it listens (kinda.)
When you’re drifting, it’s normal to feel out of place or like you aren’t doing anything. Like you’re kinda just there and not gonna achieve anything fulfilling.
But some of the general advice that I learned to break those moments are these:
Motivation can only take you so far; discipline is what you need when you have nothing left. Yeah you can feel motivated and ride that wave, but what are you gonna do when it’s gone and you still need to do things? Well. Sometimes you just gotta push through. Do that workout you didn’t wanna do. Watch that YouTube tutorial you meant to watch but put off for later. Study for 2 full, meaningful minutes if you don’t think you can. Before you know it, you’re gonna look back at all these things and be glad you at least tried a little bit.
Just because you aren’t accomplishing anything big doesn’t mean you aren’t achieving anything. Need to wash up? Take a shower—done. Achievement! Wanna send a message to someone asking for advice? Done. You did it! The smallest things can amount to the biggest impacts.
This is gonna sound corny as fck, but believe in yourself. You are what you have at the end of the day. I highly encourage less talk about what’s stacked against you and what you don’t have, and more talk about how you’re gonna overcome that and what you can do or get better at. Fake confidence until you really feel it.
Do I mess up? Yeah. Do I doubt myself? All the fcking time lmfao. But guess what: I get over those thoughts and still tell myself that I can do it in the end. Whenever I made my checklist of shit to do for my online shop? “Believe in yourself” is one of the checkboxes. And it’s not being checked off until I really feel it—but I’m gonna get there. I have to, because if I don’t believe in myself then how the fck am I gonna keep going when I hit walls?
You’re at a beautiful age. Lots of time to figure shit out. Tbh 22 is when I had these same damn thoughts, too, and I did waste a lot of it by giving in to them and just thinking I wouldn’t amount to much. But one day, I decided that I didn’t like what direction my life was going. (Discipline got me through a lot of it tbh, so I would say swallow some hard truths and do your best to try and keep trying until you find something you like and that you know you can get good at.)
You can do it. Cherish life as it comes🤍

hi im writing a character who is really into films and all that stuff so i want him to reference films in conversations and be really knowledgeable about it obviously but im not a film enthusiast so i have no clue where to begin !
Hey there! My advice to you is to do plenty of research - but don't worry, I'm here to help you out with that! Personally, I'm more of a book person myself and tend to doze off during movies, but I can give you a great starting point. You could begin by googling a list of movie or book characters who are also movie enthusiasts. One example I can give you is Stiles Stilinski from Teen Wolf, but there are plenty of others out there to inspire you!
As I go through this post, I just want to clarify that when you said "film," you meant "movie," right? Just want to make sure we're on the same page! But if you did mean "film" in the more technical sense, then there is a difference between the two, but don't worry - my advice still applies! The only thing is that the suggested websites I mentioned are more geared towards movies than films, so keep that in mind.
One thing you could consider when writing a character who's really into movies is to give them a specific genre, or a few genres, that they're particularly passionate about. After all, no one likes every type of movie, so it'll make your character feel more relatable and real. Maybe they're into classic films, or animated movies, or horror films - the possibilities are endless! Once you've figured out your character's preferences, the next step would be to google for lists of famous movies in those genres, ranging from well-known to more obscure titles. Even if you're not interested in watching all of the movies on the list, you can usually find good summaries online to get a sense of the plot and characters. Finally, you can dig deeper by googling the best quotes or lines from those movies, which can add depth and authenticity to your character's references.
Another approach you could take when writing a character who's really into movies is to choose specific genres that they enjoy, and then search for movie references as needed. So if your character wants to make a reference to a classic movie in a particular context, you could try googling "classic movie reference for saying 'no'" or something similar to find some inspiration. This way, you can add in references that feel authentic and meaningful to your character without having to do extensive research ahead of time.
Also keep in mind when writing a character who loves movies is to show that love through actions and not just dialogue. For example, your character could show excitement when they see movie-related merchandise in a store or online, or they could gush about their favorite films to a friend. Their room or house could be decorated with movie posters, and they might own clothes that reference their favorite movies. Additionally, your character could attend events or film festivals to immerse themselves in the movie world. Remember, people don't just talk about the things they like - they often show it through their behavior and actions too!
If you're looking for some helpful websites to research movies for your character who's really into them, I've got a few suggestions for you! Or Google does since that's what I used to find them.
IMDb: This is one of the most comprehensive movie databases out there, with information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities. You can use it to research movies, directors, actors, and more. Plus, IMDb has a user-generated rating system, which can give you an idea of how well-received a movie is.
Rotten Tomatoes: This website aggregates movie reviews from critics and audiences alike, giving each movie a "Freshness" score. You can use it to get a sense of how well-received a movie is, and to read reviews from professional critics and everyday moviegoers.
Letterboxd: This social networking site is specifically designed for movie lovers. Users can rate and review movies, create lists, and follow other users with similar tastes in movies. It's a great resource for discovering new movies and getting recommendations.
Film School Rejects: This website is dedicated to movie news, reviews, and analysis. They cover everything from blockbuster movies to indie films, and offer thoughtful commentary on the film industry as a whole.
ScreenCrush: This website covers movie news, reviews, and features, with a particular focus on the blockbuster movies and franchises that dominate the box office. They also offer plenty of fun movie-related content, like quizzes and opinion pieces.
Collider: This website covers all aspects of pop culture, including movies, TV shows, and comics. They offer news, reviews, interviews, and features, and have a particular focus on genre movies like superhero films and science fiction.
The American Society of Cinematographers: This website is a great resource for learning about the technical aspects of cinematography. Your character might enjoy reading about lighting techniques, camera angles, and more.
No Film School: This website is a community for filmmakers, with articles and resources covering all aspects of the craft. Your character might find useful tips and tricks for making their own movies, as well as insights into the technical aspects of filmmaking.
The Criterion Collection: This is a collection of classic and contemporary films, many of which are critically acclaimed. Your character might enjoy browsing the collection to discover new films to watch and learn from.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: This is the organization that runs the Oscars. Your character might enjoy reading about the technical awards, such as Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Sound.
Your message put such a smile on my face! I love helping out and it was so great to see you asking for advice. It's always inspiring to see writers seeking to improve their craft. Remember, if you ever need more writing advice or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out again. I'm here to support you on your writing journey!

congrats on finishing a wip!! Whats ur secret!!!! lmao
This isn't my first WIP I've finished, so that helped me a bit. (There's a reason I don't talk about my Vampire WIP anymore, it's done, just sitting archived for me to go in and edit it, and do a new draft of it)
Knowing my limits, taking breaks, and shelving when I start to get frustrated. If I find myself dreading the writing process, it's time to take a break and focus on something else.
I also shelved other WIPs to focus on one, otherwise I wouldn't finish anything. Too many projects meant my mind is split onto too many things, and HEMLOCKS was already established with a few interested beta's that weren't on Tumblr or any writing server - just a couple of friends I could trust with the document and liking the synopsis.
I also had Lyric's voice stuck in my head until I wrote her story and re-wrote it until I was mostly satisfied with it. I also did writ a lot of it when I was feeling low or in a bad state of mind, so some of it was just mostly vent works, drawing from my own past or a late partner's past (minus the "parent killed the other parent" part of it all), especially something that Lyric talks about that I and my late partner personally went through at different times.
It was also just reminding myself that there's no rush to finish it, perfection is never going to be achieved so I may as well just do it and write what I want to write and see in a story. It helped me that it is actually an entirely different genre than what I normally write, so I actually had to test myself and see where my limits actually lied.
Also, I didn't talk about it too much on social media so I didn't feel like I had to write a WHAM line every time or feel like I had to create, create, create and make every sentence and line meaningful and deep. It felt pretentious more than normal.
I also stopped complaining. I stopped complaining about the writing process, how I didn't know what to say or what to call it or what to do or how much I hated it, hate that, and jokes of "why can't it write itself" jokes. I stopped insulting it. It didn't feel good, I didn't feel good, it just made me hate what I was doing more, so I just decided to stop complaining about it, and started sharing what I was proud of with a select few friends.
If you speak negatively about your stuff, why should anyone else like it? Why should anyone else read it? "This story sucks and I hate writing it" vs "Some scenes are giving me trouble and I'm getting a little annoyed" are two incredibly different statements, one puts most readers off and the other is relatable. Like on A03, "I suck at summaries" won't net you shit. "This story probably sucks" won't do anything. And you'll also eventually start to believe that - what then? If you hate what you're writing it, why are you writing it?
Was it frustrating sometimes? Did I run into writers block? Yes, so I shelved it and came back to it later when I had some more inspiration. I wrote it in Google Docs entirely and would link my friends to get live responses, I wrote at home and not at work because if I wrote at work, I'd associate it with work.
If I wanted to stop writing it, I did. HEMLOCKS got put aside for awhile for fanfiction because I found not working with my own OCs for awhile genuinely helped me.
I stopped editing as I went. The best advice I ever received was, edit later, write now. Worry about mistakes and perfection later and then accept that perfection isn't possible, and that's okay!
I start writing it when I was awake and stopped when I was tired, I took breaks, I ate when I needed to, drank water when I needed to, etc. None of that, "I won't eat or drink or do anything until I write 5K words today!" Absolutely the fuck not, and I still see shit like that in writing spaces. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY, your brain needs that shit to WORK. A healthy body DOES equal a healthy mind, drinking some water does wonders, so does going for a short walk or focusing on something else. You need to listen to your bodies signals :/
...And I honestly stopped participating in NANO. Camp or Novembers. I honestly didn't like it, didn't like the pressure - it stopped feeling fun after awhile and started to feel like work. And I stopped talking about it altogether, except with a few friends who are close to my heart and may be the only ones to ever read it. Likely if I am asked if someone can read it, I will say no.
Lastly, I stopped posting on here. Like, I absolutely love writeblr, I've met some great people on here but - I found not posting in writing communities helped me a lot. Notes had become a big thing and I was too fixated on it, and then I realized that if it was wrecking my mental health, it's time to leave. I hate sanitizing things or writing for the masses, I like to write what I like and often times, that's WLW and not MLM. And sometimes even not romance and more something like HEMLOCKS. And I found that I was posting more about my WIPs than actually writing them or feeling motivated to write them.
I have plenty more, especially when it comes to HEMLOCKS but that's between me and the two people that know why I was working on it and what was happening like two nights ago that made me finish it.
SO this is Novel Number Two that is finished for me and I feel like I've only been able to talk about it with like three people. I am incredibly proud of myself.

Ok I've been thinking about this for Days now
It's so funny, the way both nazuna and I know how important it is to love someone right
It's so funny how we both know how it feels to be told and/or tell ourselves that we are loved, but we both know how well it hurts us, to be raised without the emotional support that we need.
His parents weren't there. His dad, like mine funnily enough, wasn't physically there for most of the time. (Got up early and came home later for dinner since he worked so much) his mom didn't really compensate for that, else he would've probably mentioned somewhere how she meant a lot to him (she does not, he only mentions what I can presume to be his mom's expectation to be cute, shared among the community probably) nobody filled that gap, while he likely lived a comfortable life, his parents weren't special to him. Of course he knows people have it worse, not enough to live comfortably. But he rarely mentions his parents- in fact, he mentions his religion more than his parents- and that says something about their lack of presence in his life- probably enough to stop him from forming a grudge but not enough to be special to him. And then we all know how the thing with shu went, but this whole topic deserves an essay
Anyways, like him, just sharing to make a point, my parents aren't that special to me, in the sense that I don't have much of an emotional attachment to them. My dad traveled 5/7 days of most weeks for years, only now its weird because sometimes he'll be home for weeks straight and it's so weird. But my mom just doesn't know how to make an emotional connection to me. I get she takes care of my health, takes me to places I need to be, buys me things I need.
But what's in common is that both our parents never got to know us, despite being both only children. And this wasn't meant to be a rant, but a really interesting comparison and perhaps I'm sort of numb to it all
Though where we differ, despite having suffered the same unfortunate situation, is like how we handled it... nazuna chose to explore his inside, who he is, and he's still doing that today. In his search for himself, he met a lot of people to help him realize about himself to build a connection with people he wants to build.
And for me, I look outside- what can I achieve, how can I look for other people to approach me. How can I be cool and successful, so that it's good for everyone to build a meaningful relationship.
It's so starkly different when you look it like that, and of course we both do what the other does (nazuna still looks to achieve and help others, and I still look to discover my relationship with myself)
And it's so interesting that how both he and I understand the effects of doing so, why we're so scared to change without notice, yet why we know we have to grow and that it's so important to know that between us
Sorry for the more deep thoughts I'll be return with silly thoughts soon
some people don't understand the impact emotional neglect can have on a child; just because you provide your child with the physical things they need to take care of themselves, doesn't mean you're giving your kid everything they need. i'm actually super passionate about this sort of thing, as well, but only by extension of my mom and how she was brought up with my grandma (only mentioning it to let you know i can understand 100% where you're coming from, to both you and nazuna).
for you and nazuna, don't you think you two just complete each other in ways you can only fulfill for each other? you understand each other, and nazuna can offer you advice you don't often turn to—and vice-versa, you do that for him!
sometimes nazuna gets wrapped up in the heat of the moment, and loses himself; and who better to remind him once more of who he is than his beloved? the person who's always watching him and others?
and what about you? you got along really well with that person, he seen how you were able to steadily open up, and you should keep doing that. trust in that person, slowly; be yourself one step at a time. and it's okay to fumble, to revert back and hide when you're scared—you came out of your comfort zone, he'll tell you, isn't that something alone to be celebrated?

small question relating to sins and egos. I was trying to srt up a personal ego for a character from their memories of different paths taken before reaching the limbus bus.
while I have the effect nailed down (changing sin to be as damaging as possible, while keeping in the IDs sin types) I've come to the realisation I don't know what kind of cost could work for it.
do you think a mix of envy, pride, and a hint of wrath would work for learning from all the places ones been pinballed around to?
So I'm guessing by personal E.G.O, you mean your character's Base E.G.O, the one they seem to use by recalling some event in their past, thus far implied to be a symbolic representation of their "Sin", rather than through taking on the emotions and self-identity of the Abnormality whose E.G.O they're using.
The best way I can describe Resource Costs for Base E.G.Os is what drove the Sinner to do what that Base E.G.O represents.
Gregor's Base E.G.O represents him giving in to Hermann's control after the procedure and resigning himself to simply following orders. The cost of Gloom represents the torment and trauma he was going through before he gave in. The cost of Lust represents either him giving in to the instincts of his more buggy side on the battlefield, or perhaps how his moment of giving up was an action he did entirely on impulse (maybe even both).
Rodya's Base E.G.O represents her murder of the Pawnbroker without thinking of the wider consequences that action could have caused. The cost of Gloom represents her grief over the situation of her neighbours that led to her raising the axe against the woman. The cost of Pride represents her reckless arrogance, that led to her thinking this action wouldn't have any meaningful consequences.
Sinclair's Base E.G.O represents him listening to Kromer and eating up her ideas, leading to his understanding of the evil of the world and his family subsequently being killed. The cost of Wrath represents his will to defy his parents' will and avoid the procedure they planned for him, which led to him being vulnerable enough to listen to Kromer. The cost of Gluttony could represent how his actions can be interpreted as a form of survival instinct, to retain his "humanity", but it could also represent how he almost greedily clung to the seeming escape Kromer represented, despite that being an utter fool's errand.
Yi Sang's Base E.G.O represents his inaction when the League began falling apart, and then the following utter resignation and blind obedience while he was kept at N Corp. The cost of Wrath represents a defiance, but not towards his situation. Remember, this E.G.O is meant to represent him sitting by and letting things happen to him. No, I believe here the cost of Wrath represents him denying himself, ignoring his own will to be free and fly. The cost of Sloth represents his resignation to his current situation, his blind acceptance of the idea he can't fly because he has no wings and thus can't do anything on his own.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly what Resource Cost your character's Base E.G.O should have, since you kept it so vague. Though we don't have many clear examples, as we still have yet to learn the exact circumstances and "Sins" of each of the Sinners, the ones we do know of we can very squarely connect to their Base E.G.Os.
The main advice I can give is this: think of the Sin Resource Cost not as what they got from the action the E.G.O is symbolic of, but rather what they needed to commit it. After all, those Sins are being spent, not gained.
Also, for Base E.G.Os I would generally advise sticking to only two Sin Types, unless you have a very specific reason to do three. All but one of the canon Base E.G.Os use two Sin Types, with the only exception being Meursault. It's not like some hard rule or anything, just something to keep in mind.
And... while I don't want to be stepping on any toes when it comes to your character, since it is your character after all... I would strongly advise against the effect of changing the Sin Affinity damage, both from a lore and theoretical gameplay mechanics standpoint. (I'm assuming you care about the latter based on the fact you are thinking about the mechanical effect of the E.G.O)
When it comes to the lore reason, the Base E.G.O's Sin Affinities are meant to represent the kind of Sin that the Sinner "commits" by symbolically reenacting the action those E.G.O represent. Gregor's is Sloth because it's him resigning himself, Rodya's is Pride because it's her doing something without thinking of the consequences, Sinclair's is Gluttony because it's him trying to reach towards something unreachable, etc.
By having a Base E.G.O that can change its Sin Affinity, it implies whatever past action that E.G.O represents is the act of multiple Sins at once, which... I think you can see where the issue comes from.
As for the gameplay reasons... Unless I'm misunderstanding and the E.G.O you're talking about isn't a Base E.G.O, all I will say is. Buddy. Pal. Base E.G.Os are Zayin level. The effect you're suggesting is more broken than Faust's Fluid Sac, and that shit is He level. Maybe undertune it juuust a bit is all I'm saying, because as it is there would be no reason to ever switch this E.G.O out for any other Zayin E.G.Os since you could effectively Always Ensure it deals Fatal damage with the right ID Affinities.
I like the ideas you've got going on there, but that's a little bit much.

Momo got Cordelia to calm down and express her feelings. He was great at sympathizing with people and get them to feel comfortable at sharing what's on their mind. He sat down with Cordelia and listened to what she had to say.
"Liam always desires what is out of his reach. This scholarship, trying to be a star athlete and get rich thing..." Cordelia looked at Momo with tears in her eyes. "It's all so over the top and it kills him not having them."
"So he lashes out on you by not giving you attention." Momo added even though he could tell that wasn't her point. "Stress does th-"
"It used to kill him not having me." Cordelia cut Momo off. "Liam loved chasing me because I was so hard to get. Now that he doesn't have to chase anymore... You see what happens." She looked like she was about to cry. Cordelia really loved him.
Momo told her none of that meant Liam did not love her anymore. All she had to do was perhaps remind him what he had and how he could easily lose it if he's not careful. He's not sure if that was the best advice but he felt like their relationship was too meaningful to crush like this. Cordelia seemed more calm after Momo's reassurances and thanked him before leaving.

More PaintGun rambling
Corsen is still a rather curious girl, long story short she lost her memories and only knows her name, and it's so bad that she didn't know simple things when she met team Hooligan, like what a car was or houses. She's been learning step by step thanks to them and one time she found some very pretty rocks. Bean actually told Corsen that penguins give pebbles to their partners for acknowledging their relationship so they can grow a family....SooOooO Corsen gave fang a very pretty rock, and happily skipped away, it took fang a few minutes (and a look from bean) to figure out what that meant. He locked himself in his room for the rest of the day a blushing mess!
Once the two started dating, Corsen didn't hesitate to get the word out, literally any enemy or friend they came across she would immediately mention it. Even during an encounter with team sonic before the two teams could shit talk each other, Corsen told em, sonic was teasing fang the whole battle and fang was trying so hard to shut him the fuck up!
Whenever Fang is down, Corsen usually comforts him with a ton of things, pets, snacks, movie nights, somehow give him a cartoonishly large coin and he stares at it for hours ("toots how the fuck did you get this??"), She does a ton of other things to just make his tail wag at least a bit! But the other way around? At first, fang had no fuckin clue how to cheer up Corsen when she was sad, he had to go through a process till he figured it out, at first it was the typical "she'll get over it" mind set, but after a few minutes the guilt started sinking in. So he asked Bark for advice, bark just says to give her things that she likes, hug her, ECT ECT. But fang didn't feel comfortable with those options...that's how Corsen cheers him up, but what's a way he can do that isn't something so obvious but also a bit meaningful? That's when it clicked, he then Marched into corsen's room and got her outside, the two spent the rest of the day finding things with a metal detector, or cooking food at the campfire, at times even stay in silence and listen to nature instead. It made Corsen completely forget about what she was even sad about, and was happy for the rest of the day! By the way she was sad because she dropped her ice cream..
Both of them blush when they tell each other "I love you" but fang blushes a bit more than Corsen..maybe it's because corsen's fur is red and her blush can blend in with it.
Fang would throw Corsen Into a pool, and then she'd grab him by the tail and pulls him right in.
Corsen: "Fang can catch me no matter what, watch" runs at him "COMING IN!"
Fang: "IM HOLDING FUCKIN COFFEE!!!" Drops the mug and catches her
Corsen: ^w^
Fang: ...."you owe me a new mug"

Entry 5:
Throughout my time spent at AGF I had many small achievements and milestone moments. An achievement was that all the hard work I’d put in throughout my lifetime meant I had a great CV. Which made me attracted to AGF.
I also achieved the experience of the city hustle and bustle of a businessman which I had been looking forward. There were many small milestones whilst at AGF “milestones are used to assess competency” (Tekian, A et al 2014)
Amys Gran Fondo was the first milestone in my internship. I also got to achieve something I had been wanting to do my whole life, go away on a business trip for work. Amys Gran Fondo took place in Lorne on the Great Ocean Road. On this trip I got to experience corporate dinners, lunches and partnership functions and corporate drinks. I got to taste what I had been looking forward to for a long time and it lived up to expectations. I liaise with industry partners, told my story, listened to others, asked questions and received professional and life advice.
I was lucky enough that I got 100 hours into my internship within the first month of my time at AGF. The first 100 hours went relatively well, I hadn’t been given any tasks that were meaningful or challenging but I was told that shortly we would be screenings, interviewing and hiring new employees once we received a grant. The grant would also allow me to look at the plan on how AGF were going to use the money to better the business. Insight into the strategy of AGF excited me and made me very excited for the next 128 hours.
At the 200 hour milestone I had been informed that we had not received our grant and that we were not going to either. Which was extremely disappointing for myself individually but you could also see how it affected the mood of the staff that make up the business. AGF were so low on money at this stage that Amelia was only working one day a week as the COO as that's all they could afford. I was working hard away on creating a dinner to be hosted at ExCEO of Telstra's house Andy Penn. Planning this event was a struggle as I didn’t have anyone to ask advice from or seek guidance as the organisation had withered away before my eyes. So I had to rely heavily on the likes of Holly and Kyle for guidance as they had already conducted similar feats.
On the 14th of October I reached the 228 Hour requirement of my Internship, I had spent 229.5 hours with the organisation to be exact. My last day was the Friday before Andy Penns dinner which would be held in a couple of days on Monday night. Thursday I received a message from Dan saying the name tags I had made were not adequate, despite having them ticked off by Amelia. And that I had spelt a name wrong, despite myself copying the names exact from the document I was given. I went into the office for my last day to print out 13 name tags. Concluding my printing session I emailed Dan asking him what he wanted me to do for the remainder of the day, to which he said he had nothing more for me to complete. So unfortunately I left my internship with a sour taste in my mouth as I spent more then twice as long on public transport that day than what I did in the office. Where I was correcting errors that had previously been signed off.
Nonetheless, I was still grateful for my internship experience and that I had managed to achieve all of my hours in a fast duration. GIving me time to focus on studies and my job which was becoming rapidly more intense.
