Some personal saiki headcanons !!! (Mostly stim related ! )

saiki stims . Its very minutely , but i believe his stims center mostly around his hands cus yk most of his powers come from his hands, but its also bc of that his powers come from his hands that he tries Not to stim in fear that it might accidentally active a power

I think, like kusuke , his fingers do a sort of drumming and tapping but unlike kuusuke he keeps his hands down and mostly out of sight !

he's suuper embarrassed by it, so maybe he uses a mild hypnosis on himself so it appears like his hands are prim and perfect and straight Or: his fingers drum too fast that they are perceived normal when rlly theyre just too fast to notice that theyre going too fast yk ?

I like to think that for times when he reaches his limits or his emotions are getting the best of him, he pretends to sleep and astral projects so he can safely stim Bigger . Just saiki stimming !!

I think he probably most definitely does it more around nendou . Yes this correlates with my ramble where him and nendou are like destined besties I DONT CARE THEY ARE SILLY !! He probably puts in less effort to cover up his finger drumming and maybe even gives his legs little wiggles and overly straightens his clothes too often (both from paranoia of look unkempt and a need for stimulation)

Nendou DEFinitely notices, bc hes perceptive but clueless , and he definitely gives saiki some stim toys . Some are more yk loud and attract attention, but others are more subtle for his fingers to fiddle with and get more sensory . Saiki prefers to stick with the smaller ones but in sillier moments he uses the eye catching ones (he always makes sure hes alone . Most of the time hes in the bathroom (bc yk paranoia of cameras in his room and stuff bc kusuke <3) )

Nendou also definitely unintentionally helps saiki stim !! Nendou does "partner stims" with saiki, which include grabbing his hands and moving them around or grabbing saiki and pulling him into a bone crushing hug (saiki doesnt reciprocate it at all but it doesnt stop nendo . saiki appreciates the added weight, even if it just feels like a bag of oranges on his body), fiddling with his fingers or poking st saikis face and shoulders , and just generally bothering him . Saiki doesnt bother to stop it, not only because nendo is impossibly stubborn but also bc he gets the stimulation he needs without having everyone looking at Him and instead looking st Nendou and thinking "why is this guy doing all that for ??"

Eventually, his friends catch on and stsrt doing it as well!! Maybe its a little miscommunication because yk saiki never talks and nendou is an idiot, so some think its stimming(peobably psykickers and whoever akechi rambles to) while others believe its saiki accepting more touch (everyone else)

Kaidou starts with fiddling with one or two of saikis fingers, and when hes in JBW mode he squeezes saikis shoulder but typically keeps his hands off him because hes worried the black best power in his arm might hurt saiki . Or something

Hairo tries to get saiki into more critical thinking games or more physical activities, he doesn't necessarily touch him other than his usual go to (hand on shoulder) but he believes saiki has energy thst needs an output . Saiki reluctantly obliges .

Teruhashi seems like the type to become more touchy with saiki, but she is actually the one who recognizes that its a more stim behavior . Shes the most perfect pretty girl, she Has to know why her classmate is more accepting of stimulating motions lately !! In the end, nothing really changes, but she does recognize that her horde of fans and the noise they bring bother saiki, so she tries to keep them away as much as possible when she goes up to him

Aren starts roughousing with him, bc he Also has a lot of energy that needs an output . Saiki doesnt mind, he could easily overpower him, so he tries his best to be gentle with him . And Try he does LMAO but that just makes Kubo' more riled up until theyre both limp on the ground. Saiki hasnt broken a sweat . His face is towards the ground though, legs tangled with Kubo's whose face is also facing the ground and panting and exhausted . Theyre both smiling idiots .

Saiko brings him shiny stuff , stuff visually appealing to the eye that is easy to mess around with to look at . Chiyo brings in snacks for him to try that are similar to coffee jelly, trying to get him to "branch out" of his safe food . Mera, at the cafe, makes sure hes more secluded so he feels safe to stim more in public places .

The psikickers treat him normally ! Akechi goes on his long rambles, sometimes choosing to do topics relating to saikis stimming, toritsuka is still a perv but makes sure no ghosts are harmed when saiki astral peojects (they never are, he just likes making sure that the ghosts he gets info from are still okay), and aiura still calls him babe and looks at the future . They are the same compared to everyone else adjusting to saikis needs of stimulation, and that provides saiki comfort and even helps him when he gets overwhelmed with everyones change .

(He never admits it, but the adjustment in his friends truly does loosen him up and lower his gaurd . Not as good as an electric shock i bet, but infinitely better than calling kusuke to have him shock saiki . )

Finally moving away from stimming !! My bad i wasnt expecting my brain to run away from me :D

Saiki definitely has a couple beauty marks . Due to his mind control making him appear normal nobody notices for a Hot Minute, but the moment his gaurd goes Slightly lower, there they are . Theres one near his lip and his cheek , and probably 2 on his neck.

Beauty marks are SO pretty he deserves it

I think he also deserves a bit of pudge too, just a softness to his arms belly and thigh area . Especially after the volcano, when he no longer has to train so much to stop it and with all the coffee jelly he ests on a regular

Saiki is a Very avid listener when it comes to his friends . This is technically canon, considering the whole dark reunion thing with kaido and saiki following the storyline, but still ! Sometimes they find it a little freaky that he remembers conversations from a yesr or two prior from when they were letting their mouth run out of boredom and saiki at the time seemed a little annoyed but not walking away, but overall find it endearing . Its just saiki being a tsundere as usual <3

(Its mainly cause his friends stories and useless rambling are better to focus his telepathy on rather than the gajillion other voices in his 200m radius. He doesnt really want to listen to then, but sometimes everyone else is So annoying and if Kaidou starts rambling to him about the dark reunion rules or where they are in the storyline , then he will gladly listen to him intently and try to block out everyone not important) (and if that helps him choose gifts, then so be it)

Saiki hates spending the night at other peoples houses !! He tries to avoid it as much as possible, because sleeping in an unfamiliar neighborhood and unfamiliar voices in his head, is not as comforting as one thinks . He would rather be wary of cameras he Knows are there, than be wary of cameras he Doesnt know are there . If there are any . He cant risk it !!

babymetal lore-dumping because im bored and i need to rant about my girlies (this could potentially be helpful for new babymetal fans too!)

babymetal originally formed as a heavy metal club in the idol group sakura gakuin, but became an independent group after suzuka nakamoto (su-metal) graduated from SG in 2012. moa kikuchi (moametal) and yui mizuno (yuimetal) joined during that time but were still in SG (they graduated in 2014).

doki doki☆morning was their first single (originally appeared on the sakura gakuin debut album 'sakura gakuin 2010 nendo: message'.) they preformed it during the "tokyo idol festival 2011: eco & smile" along with ijime, dame, zettai.

yuimetal left babymetal on October 19, 2018 due to recurring health issues, she couldn't make it to the rock am ring and rock on the range festivals, this indicated she was about to leave the group. saya hirai (sayametal) was the backup dancer during dark night carnival and the two festivals i mentioned previously.

yui was then replaced with 3 backup dancers for the tour line-up during the metal galaxy world tour in 2019 and 2020. (momoko okazaki, kano fujihira, and riho sayashi) they are also known as the 'avengers'.

momoko okazaki became an official member of the group in April 2023 under the stage name momometal. (scream & dance).

I've mentioned it before, but I think I finally want to try and explain how I write the characters in my Saiki K fics. It's mostly for me because I love talking about writing and Saiki K, but maybe some of you will enjoy this, too.

I did Toritsuka because @akechi-gf mentioned wanting tips on writing his dialogue, but 1) I felt bad info-dumping on his post and 2) didn't quite answer the dialogue answer and jumped straight into characterization (Sorry! Hope this still helps you in some convoluted way, if you're willing to read it all LMAO)

Obviously, he's very aggressively horny. He and Aiura are probably one of the firsts to laugh over something that could be taken the wrong way. But I think it's his way of trying to connect with others. He might open a conversation with some odd, vaguely creepy comment on a girl with the intention of moving the subject to something else.

He's vulgar, though I don't consider him much of a swearer. Not when compared to Kuboyasu or maybe even Kaido.

I personally write him as someone who is very opinionated. If he thinks Saiki is being too passive, or in over his head, Toritsuka is going to tell him straight up. Even if he knows the other won't take it well.

That's a big part of their relationship, I feel: even if Toritsuka is the first to cower away from Saiki puffing out his chest, he's also the first to come bounding back. He's not a 'once burned, twice shy' kind of guy. He doesn't really hold grudges, and can't quite go through with threats. I think it's why Saiki puts up with him. Like Nendo, Toritsuka is very devoted.

If you want to portray him differently, that's alright, but I always feel that something people miss with all the Saiki K. characters is that most of them are genuine assholes. They're teenagers, and I feel Toritsuka exemplifies this best. He'll say hurtful things and fucking mean them. It doesn't make him a bad person, but he definitely doesn't have the same emotional regulation as...I was going to give an example but I don't know if any of the kids are good at that. Akechi, maybe.

And speaking of emotions, he's not the best with them. He understands them, sure, but he's not even remotely delicate. That means he'll back off easily when he thinks things are beyond him. If Saiki tells him to leave it alone, that's what he's going to do. He isn't a bad guy. Toritsuka doesn't want to actively make things worse.

And on that note, he's also really fucking whiny. I try really hard not to shy away from making characters unlikable in certain aspects. If they're annoying, make them annoying. If they're a jerk, then so be it. I don't like sacrificing personality for likability. I just make sure its balanced out by other things. Toritsuka, despite his faults, has a lot of things genuinely good about him. He has pure, unadulterated faith in people, a genuine desire to become a better person (after some nudging), has shown care toward his ghosts...there's definitely stuff there.

Toritsuka's world view is fucked up, point blank. The way he talks about women isn't right. If I wrote from his perspective, it'd probably include him objectifying them. But, depending on what period of his development he's in, he might be able to step back and acknowledge that what he's thinking isn't right. He's very capable of growing and changing. Even if he's reluctant with it, he starts being less self-centered and more willing to do things just because it's the right thing to do.

He has mommy and daddy issues up the fucking wall. I think it colors his interactions with the other psychickers (who are willing to keep him in check), especially Saiki (who mother-hens basically anything that moves). He needs guidance, even if it's a bit of bullying.

In the sports day episode, Saiki was having issues with controlling his powers because his antenna was taken out. In episodes after this it causes issues too, but that is the only time that the issues consisted after the antenna was put back in.

In this episode he mentions needing to ‘eliminate’ Nendo because he’s too much of a risk, and then in the next scene explains to the audience about how his powers are too strong and he doesn’t know what he’d do without the limiter.

Anyways, putting two and two together with what he was thinking about with Nendo and the limiter, and the fact that he doesn’t have these issues again in future episodes where his limiter was removed and put back, I think it’s safe to say he was just straight up having a panic attack in the sports day episode

Well, what a loaded question to wake up to in the morning lol.

Incest is such a strong taboo in most cultures, and invokes such a strong gross-out response, that it's hard to be strictly logical about it.

But in the text of the story, there's actually not really any proof I recall that would imply Kusuke has real attraction to Kusuo outside of his humiliation kink.

And I think the specification that Kusuke has a humiliation kink and not just a "losing games" kink clears up all of the inconsistencies in canon that occur with either of the theories you mentioned.

1) Kusuke is actually pretty normal around Kusuo whenever they're not in the middle of one of his games. They talk normally plenty of times (ex. the Kochikame parody episodes) and Kusuke never does anything that would indicate attraction in those moments. Even when they're younger, before Kusuke moves out, there's no indication of "puppy love" 🤢 or anything like that, THANKFULLY. Whatever this thing is probably developed once he hit puberty in England.

2) Unlike Makoto Teruhashi, Kusuke never shows any physical interest in Kusuo. He doesn't try to kiss him or hug him or anything like that, he's definitely not imagining marriage, and he's more into drilling skulls than suppositories. When he fixes Kusuo's pants in the cat tank episode, he's completely normal about it and pretends it never happened afterwards. He puts Kusuo's limiter on his crotch mostly because it would be gross and off-putting to Kusuo– when Kusuo is slowly reaching for it, Kusuke doesn't show any excitement at the fact and just tries to win. Kusuke does call his brother cute but yeah Kusuo IS his little brother so that on its own isn't good evidence imo.

3) It's not about losing, it's specifically about humiliation. If it was purely about winning/losing, Kusuke would have gotten off on the birthday fireworks win, OR on the robotized elder loss. But if you use humiliation as the goal, then it explains those situations (just not embarrassing enough) plus it explains why Kusuke made Kusuomega lick his shoes and why he was in favor of Toritsuka taking Kusuo's body out for a streaking session.

What excites Kusuke, I think, is being made out to be a fool and looking pathetic. It's not that he's LOST against his BROTHER that gets him off, it's the fact that he's lost SO MANY TIMES to his YOUNGER brother that motivates him. That's why he has a rolling tally of all the times he's lost against Kusuo, but doesn't get into a tizzy when he loses rock/paper/scissors – on its own, it's just not embarrassing to lose at rock/paper/scissors, it's mostly a game of chance. And the fact that Kusuo doesn't actually want to play makes it more pathetic that Kusuke makes him play only to lose every time.

So yeah I think that it's laid out pretty strongly in the text that the reason Kusuke fixated on Kusuo specifically is because Kusuo is the only one who can make him feel pathetic and humiliated. That's why he doesn't give Kusuo the power deleter until after he loses the cat tank game– it means giving up on his kink in favor of what Kusuo wants. Once Kusuo loses his powers, he won't be able to outclass Kusuke any more, and that's no fun. Kusuke is completely normal around Kusuo after that too, except for when he realizes that Kusuo's powers might be returning.

I really think that if someone else showed up and started beating him consistently at games, Kusuke's fixation would quickly switch to this new person. Because in his mind, every person on earth is just a monkey, except for him and Kusuo (and possibly his mom, but she shacked up with a monkey so...). Wouldn't it be so much more humiliating to lose to a monkey than to a god-like esper??

Unfortunately we don't get to see that happen in the text, because clearly the people at anime Cambridge are not challenging Kusuke at all. Nor were Kaido, Nendo, or Toritsuka providing any challenge lol.

The closest we get to seeing him beaten by someone else is when Teruhashi has her simps attack Kusuke, but tbh the fact that he thinks she's a slut probably cancels out the humiliation of him having to helicopter out of the crowd lol. Embarrassing for both of them in his mind. Good, tbh, Teruhashi doesn't need another rich freak lusting after her hsfjdlshfks.

Also, dear person who wrote this in the wild card question on the sign-ups: first, thank you for taking my long-form thought essay suggestion seriously, I love this.

Second, I've thought probably too much about this question and honestly... given that every other sports anime/sports anime reboot of its kind has exploded, I imagine a larger fandom would be an inevitable if ES ever does get remade (I'm leaning towards pessimistic at this point, even though I still very much want one). It would be a trade off between more Eyeshield content and the problems you mentioned, but I think personally I would lean more towards wanting a larger fandom... because you can always block people on social media and I think a larger audience would finally net me my Hiruma nendo lmao.

IM NOT TOTALLY SURE, because i tend to have very specific reasonings for why i think two characters would be good together, but i definitely think that from an outside perspective some of my ships can be seen as pretty abstract..

BUT almost any pairing you think of in a semi-popular fandom like saiki k, SOMEBODY has probably made content about it.. and its more popular in japan, so you may not be able to FIND ur pairing but theres probably SOMETHING out there about it, just in a language you aren't searching in or something.. like, toritsuka x kuboyasu is one pairing i have NEVER seen an english speaking person post about, but if you go in japanese or korean speaking saiki k spaces, that ship is EXTREMELY popular! theres TONS of fanart!!

so yea, whats popular or even what gets any content at all can be surprising sometimes.. like, a few of my favorite tdlosk ships are arisu x rifuta, arisu x aiura, and rifuta x yumehara (+arisu x yumehara but this is kinda popular i think) (im just a lesbian with a bias towards sapphic ships, i see two pretty girls and i ship..) and i shipped them before i ever started looking online for content and when i finally did, i didnt think i would ever see any content of them but. there is. theres plenty of content of them. theyre rare enough pairs that i dont think they have ship names so it can be hard to actually find that content since theres no ship name ever tagged, but it very much exists!

if youd asked me this like a month ago i wouldve said that saiki x suzumiya is one of these abstract ships for me (if you wanna know why i like it, i just like the idea of instead of satou being so average he balances her out, saiki just like superhero-ing every other minute without her even noticing. i also like this as a polycule which ill talk about in a minute-) but somebody on here posted it around that time LOL.. theres also some other rare pairs i enjoy like mera x saiki or kuboyasu x yumehara, but though these are rare-ish pairs, they still have a notable presence so i wouldnt quite call them abstract.. (also yo damn well kubosai is my NUMBER ONEEEE ship, which you could call a rare pair if you didnt go on tumblr or ao3 cuz its VERY concentrated over here and doesnt really exist anywhere else.. except in the japanese fandom LOL.. but yea its definitely not a rare pair over here, its gotten way more popular recently too..)

I haven't worked on anything too interesting lately, so instead I'm going to ramble at random about some of the boring stuff. Apologies in advance.

The text box that showcases the various properties of an item is now more compact, and the icon for the item itself has been moved to prevent it from potentially overlapping the former. The property shown here hopefully gives more useful information than it used to by telling you how much a regular strike and a charged strike multiply your damage by. Normally, of course, it's 1x -> 2x (in which case this property won't show up in the rotation), but certain weapons have modifiers that change this. Flails, for example, are 0.5x -> 2x by default.

Note that certain character abilities may misrepresent the latter number. For example, each strike from Irene's Hurricane Spin does half the damage of a regular spin attack to compensate for it potentially striking multiple times.

While we're on that topic:

Irene's Hurricane Spin has been tweaked a bit. Each strike before the final one does slightly less knockback to keep enemies struck by it relatively close by, and it now grants her semi-invulnerability for its remaining duration if she strikes at least one enemy with it (with the sword itself, not anything fired from it). Furthermore, she's granted immunity to contact damage regardless (as seen here) to help prevent enemies with the ability to do so from popping in and interrupting it constantly, which could be a problem if she's using a sword that doesn't fire beams. These are characteristics shared with the spear's Super Thrust, primarily because some enemies (like these) are immune to knockback, and otherwise would cause you to smack into them during the thrust.

Some notes on invulnerability: there are, in general, three tiers of it:

Semi-invulnerability doesn't render you immune to certain attacks, such as charged attacks, particles (like those fired from an elemental sword) or channeled beams (like the lasers used by the robot in the previous update). Environmental damage and status effect damage are also unaffected. This is the type granted by mercy invulnerability and Sam and Kim's roll ability.

Various forms of ad hoc invulnerability are granted during specific cases, such as during Nendo's dash and Irene's Hurricane Spin (as mentioned above) to protect against things that would otherwise be irritating. Nendo, for example, is protected from everything that involves physical contact with an attack or enemy while dashing, but he's still vulnerable to damage from the environment, status effects, and certain Memesis effects and monster attacks.

True invulnerability is granted from a few status effects and protects you from all damage, except for the damage caused by falling into a hole or being crushed. Harmful status effects can still be applied, but they won't do damage as long as you're invulnerable.

Most forms of invulnerability won't apply while time is stopped for you, except for mercy and true invulnerability.

Speaking of being crushed:

Yeah, that can happen now. I don't expect it to be something that poses a true threat, like in the form of falling ceilings. It's more or less just a confidence check for now (if I'm using that term correctly).

Reconsidering which faceplates to use for a custom Nendoroid Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd.

Someone else used Victor Nikiforov coach version faceplates for their custom Nendoroid Dimitri. But i only have the regular version Victor Nendoroid, and his smiling faceplate has an open mouth smile that I'm unsure would match Dimitri.

Kasen Kanesada has the best eye shape. But his purple eyebrows might stand out too much. And now that i look, his eyes are actually green.

Mikazuki Munechika is my best contender right now. Even if the yellow crescent moons in his eyes make him maybe too distinct to pass for Dimitri.

Izuminokami Kanesada might be good. But his eyes are a very intense shade of blue, while Dimitri has a lighter blue eye color.

The same might be said of Riku's eyes, though they aren't as dark as Izuminokami's.

Roxas has blond eyebrows like Dimitri. But all the Kingdom Hearts Nendoroids have an extra dark ring in the middle of their iris radii, and i worry if that art style might be too distinct to pass as Dimitri.

Basically, I'm once again trying to talk myself out of buying Nendoroid Nagi Rokuya. I was able to do it when his preorder was up months ago. But now that he's in stock at the GoodSmile shop's "Available Now" section, I'm tempted again. He looks SO MUCH like Dimitri. But I can't spend $53 just for a faceplate. His hair, though very similar to Dimitri's, is still closer to his teenage Academy hairstyle, while I'm trying to put together a post timeskip Dimitri to match my plans for a post timeskip custom Nendoroid Claude. But it's been so long since I've sculpted anything, I'm honestly VERY TEMPTED to just buy Nagi Rokuya for $53, overlook the differences between hair hair and Dimitri's post timeskip, and just PRETEND he's a Nendoroid Dimitri. I am SORELY TEMPTED.

And that's not to mention the candidates I've scouted for hairstyle pieces, for a custom Nendoroid Dimitri. I was going to pay $70 I don't have for Nendoroid Doll Camus, but I finally saw photos of the back of his hair and it's way too short in the back to pass for Dimitri. Now the new Dr Stone Nendoroid Ryusui Nanami has a much darker blond than Dimitri, but it is the closest to Dimitri's hair that I have ever seen in a Nendoroid. (Unless I expand to brunette Nendoroids, like Izumi Miyamura, and commit to painting them blond.) ...It's all so much money, because I'm so out of practice and unconfident in my sculpting now. x_x;

Gawd, Good Smile Company! It's been almost 4 years! And still no FE3H Nendoroids????????????????????????????? ;O;!!!!!!!!!

Every other time in the past, where I almost threw down $50 each for multiple Nendoroids, hoping to cobble together a custom Nendo for a character not in the official lineup...a few months after chickened out, GSC would announce an official Nendoroid for the character I was planning to make a custom for. I remember it distinctly happening with Persona 5 Joker. Thank goodness I hesitated to buy/hunt down Nendo TM Revolution and Devil Survivor. So I keep thinking that GSC might announce an official Nendo Dimitri soon, and what a shame it would be if I got 2+ $53 Nendoroids just to make a sub-parr Dimitri.

Also, there were Nendoroids like Kikyo, who I had a custom of for YEARS before she got an official Nendo. ...But she did eventually get one. And I never had to alter or damage any of the parts I used to make my custom Nendo Kikyo, while waiting for the official Nendo Kikyo. So I'm really hesitant to buy a Nendoroid, just to "ruin" it for a custom.

The rest of my December 2022 haul finally arrived, after traveling the whole width of the USA, only to be returned once again to where it first landed. Exactly, where it was supposed to be delivered, like in the same exact state. *sigh* Anyway, this one was a royal pain in the back, but it’s finally here. The cost of S/H was absurd because I distrust DHL now. I had to go with EMS, which is so much slower, so much less dependable and oh so freaking expensive in comparison. However, at least I know they won’t turn over the package to the USPS for them to attempt returning it to Japan, because they are the ones handling the final freaking delivery. I know they’ll deliver the package to me. On the other hand, they are 30USD more expensive and slower than DHL, so yes, I am bitter. Not to mention they call this service express...>__>;;

I am super happy with all these, despite being a small haul and the higher than life cost of it shipping to me. I am glad I was able to get another 9S Nendo to unbox one. Also, the first ever Q Posket I ever saw was a Princess Serenity one, and I always wanted to get one of them. I don’t believe the one I saw was this version (couldn’t have due to timing), but I am happy with it nonetheless. I do hope to be able to get Endymion as well. I don’t need both versions; I’ll just settle for A ver. of each. I wasn’t planning on collecting Muzan as a female, but I kind of wanted my order to get charged before AA went on Holdiay break, but despite me adding in-stock items it didn’t happen... I do enjoy collecting prize figues based on Todoroki and hope one day I can justify a scale figure based on him. However, they always have extra-large bases, and the S/H alone discourages me from pulling the trigger. Of course, I am happy with the Sasuke acrylic stands, although I really wish I could stop hoarding those already. T__T;; The super cute Sumikko Gurashi stickers I just got because they seemed too cute to pass -- I’ve never collected anything based on them before, nor have I watched any of the animations. They are adorable, so it is hard to resists. I am hoping this won’t be yet another thing I hoard things off. DX

Teruhashi is very confident. About her looks, grades, everything in the list I believe. But there are times though that she is absolutely exhausted and ticked off with people. Like right now, she was trying to contain herself before she explodes because of the crowd surrounding all exits. She knows she's beautiful but she would like to go home (in peace) and do her beauty routine! (Or try to make Saiki say "oh")

But no matter how hard she tries to sweet talk them to move out, they keep blocking her path. Her last resort option is to look around and point out something interesting. Fortunately for Teruhashi there is somethings she can direct attentions to but unfortunately for dear [Name], she was the subject of the matter.

"Oh my! Isn't that a classmate of ours?" Teruhashi yelled out but as in relief when [Name] is much more far away to hear her.

"[Name] from Class 3, right?"

"THAT BOY... HE'S WEARING A DIFFERENT UNIFORM!!?"

"HE HAS BIKE? SO COOL!"

And just like, the unnecessary attention went to poor [Name] and mysterious biker-boy.

Good grief. Saiki thought watching the commotion happen. Why drag an absolutely innocent person in this mess?

Mitsuya glances behind the girl walking towards him to see fairly large amount of people whispering to themselves.

He rose a brow at her, "You never mentioned you were famous in your school." [Name] shook her head and said, "Don't look at them, they're embarrassing. They're always so nosy about these things." Mitsuya gave a laugh. [Name] clicked her tongue and playfully shoved his face. "Come on now, give me the spare helmet.", [Name] said instead.

"Ah, about that.", The lavender haired male smiled sheepishly at her. "You can borrow mine for now since the other was mistakenly placed on Smiley's ride." [Name] gave a look and said with a small glare, "Takashi! If we get caught, I'm going to ask Draken not to bail you out." which just made the 2nd division commander laugh at her.

Kaido was whispering about how [Name] shouldn't interact with the other boy because of his weird one earring and bike. While he does that, Aren and Nendo were busy looking at the vehicle the lavender haired boy was leaning on.

Idiots, I'm surrounded, Saiki thought looking at the situation.

They really shouldn't be pitching in someone else's life outside school, plus [Name] never really bothered theirs too. Although, he must admit he never thought she would be affiliated with a gang since when he would hear her thoughts, they just seemed like a normal group of friends but nothing is normal in this universe.

Does it really matter what she does outside school hours?, Saiki spoke- telepathically. The 3 idiots turned to face him as if he just exposed his powers to them.

"Saiki! I could get the opportunity to ask about that bike of her friend's-" (Aren)

"She could be in danger, you know! A-and is just forced to hangout with them-" (Kaido and his wild scenarios)

"At least we know Miss Quiet have fun too, Pal." (Nendo)

Okay the last one was unnecessary, Nendo.

After [Name] handed her bags to Mitsuya for him to hook on his bike, he gave his helmet to the girl but stopped at the middle of giving it to her. "Hmm? Takashi? Something wrong?", [Name] tilts her head to the side, though it turned to a worried expression when she saw a mischievous glint flash on his eyes.

"Why not give them a-"

"Whatever it is no. 😐", She quickly cuts him off.

"Aww, c'mon. Just for today?", Takashi uncharacteristically pouts, he's really feeling playful today.

"No.", She dead panned at him. Was this guy really the 2nd Division Commander? [Name] was having doubts at this moment in her life.

"I'll treat you (favorite dessert)~", the lavender haired boy bribed.

"We'll be late for the meeting-", the student from P.K reminds him.

Using his last option, one of her weaknesses, "Exactly so just agree, princess." [Name] glared at him, cursing him silently for using such nickname. She gave out a tired sigh and said, "Fine, but don't blame me when they start asking for you Takashi and if Mikey gives us an hour of Q&A.", she smirked by the end.

Mitsuya smiled brightly giving a quiet, "Yes!" Then said, "Just follow my lead."

The crowd of students were still in awe, some females and a few males took out their phones and took a quick photo of the two. But when someone shouted that they saw the mystery male kiss the part of the helmet where their dear schoolmate's forehead was supposed to be, their jaws dropped.

To make it more interesting, Mitsuya laced his arm around [Name]'s waist and pulled her closer to him. Some girls from the P.K Academy squealed at the sight,

"JABHDJSJS AAAAAAA THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!!"

"Okay, they're my favorite love-team 😩"

Mitsuya chuckled after seeing at the corner of his eyes the freaking out looks of [Name]'s schoolmates.

"Why go far as that...", [Name] grumbles hiding her red face on his shoulder. The lavender haired cooed, "Is this the new blush you were talking about? Looks good on you~" [Name] groaned, "You had enough fun Mits, time to go." Giving a salute, Mitsuya starts his engine, "Roger that Madam!"

"Aww they're leaving.."

"How cute!"

"[RANDOM NAME] BREATHE IN AND OUT-"

Saiki shook his head as his classmates and other people start whispering again. The thoughts of [Name] had made his stomach growl as she was thinking of what sweet the boy and her were going to buy before going straight to wherever meeting they needed to be.

"Hey Saiki!" The owner of the annoying voice had arrived. Toritsuka then continued to ramble about [Name] shouldn't be all touchy with another boy who wasn't from PK. "Why are you so pressed about? Are you her dad?", Saiki questioned Toritsuka. The purple haired boy shouts, "Why aren't you bothered!?"

"Do you think we should follow them...?", Kaidou suggests suggests.

"NO WAY! THAT'S JUST CREEPY AND DISRESPECTFUL TO [NAME]'S PRIVACY!", Aren scolds him.

These idiots, Saiki shakes his head again feeling his life span shortening just hearing them converse.

"Takashi, what do you think we should get, chocolate or strawberry cake?", [Name] asks as the light turns red. Mitsuya hums behind her in thought, "Maybe chocolate?" (I'm craving one don't mind me 😭, you don't like chocolate, you can have your own flavor!!) [Name] nods then continues to tell Mitsuya to stop by the usual bakery they would go to.

That's how Saiki and his uh friends saw [Name] and Takashi on a "date". Nothing too suspicious going on, per what Kaido states. Though they (the 3 idiots, Saiki didn't have a say on this) opt to continue following the two just to make sure [Name] is truly safe and can be trusted andtotallynotwiththedarkrenunion.

In shorter words? Saiki cannot with them.

Matsuzaki worries for Kusuo. He’s essentially mute as far as he knows, and he’s fainted before at the Sports Festival. It’s why he tends to get after Nendo or Shun for being too rambunctious with Kusuo, just in case it gets too much for him

It’s also why he looks out for potential bullying around Kusuo. Matsuzaki has been a teacher long enough to know that any kid that seems ‘off’ is usually targeted

Matsuzaki used to let Nendo grab any of the bugs inside to let them out, but then Nendo started to try and show his bestie. He puts a stop to it after Kusuo faints once more out of pure fear

His office is always open to everyone. Kusuo hasn’t ever taken up the offer, but Shun and Aren have before

After a while of walking into Shun, Nendo, and Aren doing God knows what while Kusuo watches, he no longer has to scold them verbally. Now, he just gives them a blank look and they shuffle out awkwardly

There was a stray dog on campus once, and “No, Nendo, we cannot have a school mascot”

He’s had to walk Shun through his fair share of panic attacks. Shun is anxious and flighty, so sometimes it just gets too much and he starts to freak out. Matsuzaki has taught him breathing exercises

Can and will stick up for his kids against other teachers. Matsuzaki has learned that teenagers tend to actually listen when they’re spoken to like human beings. Who knew?

He used to worry that Nendo was bullying Kusuo, but then he notices that when there’s a drastic change in schedule, he tends to stick close to the big guy. (Yes, I’m saying Nendo is a comfort person for Kusuo. He never changes and Kusuo clings to that)

Shun, Aren, and Kusuo all have a reaction to being scolded that worries Matsuzaki.

Shun tends to hunch over and shake. It does pull on Matsuzaki’s heartstrings, so he tries to stay gentle with him

Aren doesn’t get angry like he would expect. You can tell he’s listening and maybe even that he’s pissed, but he just tenses up and stays silent. There’s something like fear in his eyes that makes Matsuzaki worry

Matsuzaki tends to casually mention assignments that are close to being due when Aren is around. It’s not enough to make Aren feel singled out, but it has given him many “oh shit” moments because he forgot about it

He once accidentally fell asleep in class during a study period. People wanted to mess with him originally, but Aren, Kokomi, and Kineshi got the room to be silent so this guy could get some rest for once

author’s note: i tried to incorporate as many characters into this as possible to make it feel like an actual episode and i got overwhelmed so fast lol i haven’t written this many characters in a story in a long time. in any case hope i did them justice and that you enjoy :’)

Today’s morning is bright, and Saiki’s walk is quiet. Typically this would be no cause for concern. A quiet walk to school is few and far between, difficult to come by given the company he keeps. (He’d much prefer a calmer bunch, if he were granted the chance to choose, but that is neither here nor there.) Don’t misunderstand: he’d bask in this brief peace, guaranteed to be broken the moment he passes through the gates of PK Academy, if the reason for this uncharacteristic period of silence comes about because of the absence of one particular person—someone who, if one could hardly believe it, Saiki actually prefers to have around more often than not.

He walks past the street which leads to your home, his pace never slowing because he expects you’ll join him, as you do every morning. You’ll wait for him on the corner and smile widely like you haven’t seen him in weeks then skip towards him, falling in step easily. He’ll remain nonplussed as you hug his arm, give it a brief squeeze as you greet him—Good morning, Kusuo!—and then promptly let go because you understand he likes his space but you just can’t help but indulge a little bit.

However, none of the aforementioned events play out this Friday. You’re not on the street corner, not there to smile and fall in step with him. There’s no arm hugging or a bubbly greeting Saiki pretends he isn’t affected by. But the truth is that he is, the routine coming somewhat as a comfort, even at the price of sacrificing some of his beloved personal space. So when you’re nowhere to be found his brows furrow and he wonders where you are.

His steps slow until he comes to a complete stop. He wants to check up on you, sooner rather than later. There isn’t much time to delay if he wants to make it to school before the first bell, but this won’t take long. He crosses his eyes, activating his clairvoyance, and he centers in on you immediately. You’re still at home. You’re at home, and you’re sick.

A box of tissues rests on your nightstand and you’ve pulled your small trash can right next to it from where it usually stands by your door. You toss used tissues into it before nestling beneath your blankets, pulling it up to just below your chin and hugging it close in order to retain heat. Your breath evens out quickly and he can tell you’re asleep. Your body must be exhausted dealing with your cold, and he’s confident this is the way you will be the rest of the day—drifting in and out of sleep, dealing with the sniffles and congestion.

He blinks and loses sight of you and now he’s staring once more down the road. Readjusting his bag on his shoulder with a sigh, he resumes walking and thinks about his plans for the day. As it was the last day of the school week, he’d planned to go to Cafe Mami for coffee jelly to celebrate. But now that he’s learned you’re sick in bed, he’d have to make adjustments. Momentarily he debates if that’s really necessary. You probably wouldn’t want visitors in the state you’re in, and knowing you, you’d tell him to go to the cafe without you to enjoy himself anyway. The thought is tempting, truly, yet he can’t shake the urge to check on you.

It feels less like an obligation and more like a simple desire of his own to make sure you’re okay. Saiki shakes his head, more amused than frustrated. There’s no one else for whom he would so willingly do this, or much else, for, and he doesn’t think he’d ever tell you because you’ll tease him the way you are wont to do whenever his facade cracks and he’ll let you have your fun because when you ask if you’re really so different as to make him act this way, the answer is, well, yes. You are.

He imagines this scenario and the corner of his lips lifts in a small smile. Good grief. You could be quite the handful.

“Hey, Saiki!”

Nendo’s voice is entirely too loud for the morning and Saiki heaves another sigh, one that sounds as though it belongs at the end of the day and not the beginning. Nendo is joined close behind by Kaidou and Kuboyasu, and they easily fill the silence with discussions about going to get ramen after class and the latest movements of the Dark Reunion. Saiki really only picks up words here and there that allude to the topic of conversation but it doesn’t require his full attention. It’s the same song and dance every morning.

The commotion once he arrives at school is much the same. During lectures he is afforded the temporary reprieve from having his ears talked off, since the only one speaking is the teacher, but at breaks, the noise resumes, and though he always stays sitting at his desk, in hopes the others will get the hint that he’s uninterested in chatting, they inevitably crowd themselves around it, until he is right in the middle.

Hairo has outlined a new workout regimen and in his louder than normal volume of speaking he shares it. He’s going to start it today, and if anyone wants to join, they’re more than welcome. It doesn’t look like anyone wants to take the offer, which is expected. Hairo’s exercise routines were… a little extreme.

In any case, Hairo is nonplussed by the lack of enthusiasm from everyone else and remarks he can’t wait for the end of the school day.

“I think I’ve been losing muscle tone,” he laments, and he complements this statement with a casual flex of his arm, more so to point out the specific areas he thinks are getting soft rather than to show off, but even if he isn’t trying, his biceps are bulging and if his sleeves hadn’t been rolled up, they would have torn.

Saiki’s brow raises. Yeah… I don’t think that’s an issue for you, Hairo.

“I’ve just finished installing an indoor gym at my home, you know.”

Everyone turns to find Saiko has entered into the circle, a smug smirk on his face. When had he gotten here? Really it’s only Hairo who has any sort of reaction to this, eyes practically sparkling imagining the machines and equipment (or maybe that’s just the glare from the fluorescent classroom lights). All the same, Saiko relishes the attention, boasting of the privacy and space and how really, it’s so much easier to be productive if there’s no one else there but Saiki can only wonder if Saiko even works out at all. He doesn’t remember that being mentioned, and Saiki is nothing if not detail oriented.

Saiki doesn’t have long to ponder over this (not that it would’ve continued much longer because he doesn’t actually care about whether Saiko exercises or just set up a gym in his house to brag) before Nendo asks where you are.

Had he just noticed? You always join them on their walk in the morning. But Saiki can’t say he’s surprised it took this long. What he is surprised about is that Nendo had noticed in the first place.

“Oh that’s right,” Kuboyasu adds. “I thought she just went ahead of us today.”

Yumehara informs them of your whereabouts before Saiki does. “She texted me this morning she wasn’t feeling well so she stayed home.” Her phone dings with a new message and she glances at it, then looks back up. “But she says she’s a little more awake now!”

“It’s the Dark Reunion.” Kaidou’s sudden interjection draws everyone’s attention. He clenches his right fist, staring at the bandages wrapped around it. “They’re trying to get to me by going after my friends!”

Saiki remains expressionless but if he didn’t have such good control he would’ve rolled his eyes. Or maybe she just has a cold.

Upon Kaidou’s claim that a secret society is responsible for your illness, Saiki picks up Yumehara’s thoughts: I wish I was the one Kaidou was so worried about! Maybe if I got sick he’d worry about me too! Getting sick to grab Kaidou’s attention? That’s… going overboard, but Saiki can’t find it in him to be shocked, considering from whose mind this speculation has sprung.

“Poor [Name],” Teruhashi says, kind as always. She sets an index finger on her chin, gaze momentarily aimed upwards as she thinks. “I was about to suggest we all go to the cafe after school today and I wish she could join.”

This gives Saiki pause. Wait. The cafe?

“That sounds like a great idea!” Yumehara declares. Again Saiki hears her thoughts: If we go, I need to do my best sit next to Kaidou!

Whether a visit to Cafe Mami comes across as a good idea because it’s a fun way to celebrate the end of the school week or simply because Teruhashi suggested it, Saiki doesn’t know, but one by one the murmurs of assent resound through the group and he barely contains a relieved huff. He’d already changed his own plans from visiting the cafe to seeing you instead, and it’s a good thing too since it’s apparent his alone time would’ve been ruined. Now he has an excuse not to stick around.

Once the final bell rings, they begin their walk into town towards the cafe. The sidewalk feels crowded with all of them on it, and they have to split into pairs to keep the opposite side of the sidewalk free for people going the other way. Among comments from everyone else about how hungry they are, Saiki makes known his intention to just pick up food before leaving. There’s somewhere he needs to be.

“You’re going to go make sure [Name] is doing okay!” Teruhashi exclaims. It’s a statement, not a question. “That’s sweet of you.”

Saiki shrugs. “Sweet” is not the first word he would associate with his actions. It just seems like common sense to check on you. You’d looked miserable this morning, but he takes your message to Yumehara earlier as a good sign that you’re improving, slowly and surely. Still, he’d be more comfortable seeing you himself. He hadn’t gotten any other chances today to use his clairvoyance, but at least it wouldn’t be long now until he’d be heading to your house.

Chisato is working today and she seats everyone. Saiki goes directly to the counter to place his order—coffee jelly for him and strawberry mochi for you—and he stands off to the side while waiting for the treats to be packed. The others are sitting on the far side of the cafe (in his peripherals he sees Yumehara has taken a seat right next to Kaidou) but he can hear them clear as day discussing what food they should order. Yes, he’s certainly glad he won’t be sticking around. Spending Friday in the midst of that noise is far from ideal.

Holding the bag of coffee jelly and mochi in one hand, Saiki uses the other to push open the door, the bell jingling gently, and someone, Nendo it sounds like, raises their voice to shout across the room: Seeya later, Saiki! Then the door closes behind him, and all he can hear is the footsteps of other pedestrians and the low whoosh of cars.

He exhales slowly. Peace at last. He proceeds in the direction of your home, and when he thinks to himself that any longer and his ears might’ve begun to bleed, he’s only half joking.

In the neighborhood it’s much quieter, the only person he passes being someone walking their dog, and only a couple of cars drive past. He knocks on the door and he assumes you’re in your room and so it will take some time for you to open it, but you’re there faster than he expects. You open it just wide enough to stand in the gap, and immediately he notices the fatigue in your eyes. When you realize it’s him, they light up, and the fatigue fails to take away from the brightness of your smile as you open the door wider.

“Kusuo!”

Inside, he sees you’ve moved downstairs to the living room. That’s why you’d answered the door so quickly. There’s a pile of blankets on the couch and a tissue box on the coffee table. The television is on and playing an animation. He doesn’t recognize it, but it must be one of the new ones you mentioned wanting to watch. However, you’re not interested in it now that he's here and you grab the remote to turn down the volume.

“I thought you were going to the cafe today,” you state, head tilting.

Saiki shakes his head. Change of plans. Instead I brought the cafe to us. He holds up the bag of food and doesn’t have to tell you what’s in it. You squeal in delight that he’s come bearing treats, but the sound is a little raspy and awkward due to your sore throat. It’s still easier on Saiki’s ears than the earlier commotion he’d been surrounded with and, if he’s honest, it’s cute.

You plop down on the couch and wait as he joins you. He unties the bag and opens the box, first taking out the packaged pink mochi and handing it to you. Then he grabs his coffee jelly and the plastic spoon it came with before settling back against the cushions.

You sit cross-legged facing him and bite into your soft and squishy treat, humming delightedly. “Thanks, Kusuo.”  

Saiki chews a mouthful of coffee jelly and glances at you.

You grin and hold up the mochi. “For the snack and for coming to see me.”

He shrugs because it’s no big deal. Or, well, he tries to play it off like it’s no big deal. But you know him better than that, better than most others do, and don’t brush it off so quickly. You breathe out dramatically and set a hand on your chest.

“What must I have done for Kusuo Saiki to give up his quiet time for me?” Then you giggle, and  it’s punctuated at the end by a sniffle.

He tells you there would’ve been no quiet time at the cafe since the others had also decided to go, and that you’re much better company. Even when I’m sneezy? you ask him, and he chuckles. Yes, even when you’re sneezy.

His remark about coming to see you because he’d prefer to be here and not at the cafe with the rest of your friends is merely part of the truth. The rest of it is that he did genuinely want to check on you to make sure you were okay. Though to give this a voice felt like too much for someone typically so reserved in his feelings, but you understand perfectly fine as you smile softly. You’re appreciative of his actions, and it would seem Teruhashi had been right about them, for you murmur that he reminds you of the mochi you’re eating: You’re so sweet!

Grabbing your mug from the coffee table, you frown when you see it’s empty. “I ran out of tea.”

Saiki sets the spoon and now empty container back in the box then holds his hand out. You blink, momentarily confused, but when it registers what he’s doing, you give him the mug. As he stands to make his way into the kitchen, you call after him.

“Thank you!”  

Having been to your house a number of times already, he knows where everything is and starts brewing a fresh cup of tea. You’ve turned the volume up on the television again, but you have to rewind to return of the spot you were at before he’d arrived. Once he comes back with a filled mug, instead of allowing it to continue to play, you pause your show.

You’d snuggled beneath the blankets and have to finagle your arms out of the multiple layers to take the mug from him. You say thanks again and blow gently at the tendrils of steam floating from it. The ceramic is warm in the palms of your hands and you sigh contentedly.

“Sorry I’m a little high maintenance today,” you apologize suddenly. “I’d make the tea myself but I just have such little energy…”

Saiki wishes you wouldn’t apologize because there’s nothing to be sorry for. So he tells you as much. Don’t apologize. Besides, he’d offered to make that tea, and if you wanted soup, he’d offer to make that too. He does understand where you come from, however. You tend to be more independent, opting to do things yourself, and you also know his propensity for being alone and needing space. As such, you’re careful not to be overbearing, and the idea of Saiki doing even little tasks like brewing you tea bothers you.

It’s endearing, the level of care you take to make sure he’s comfortable too, but when he says you’re far from high maintenance, he means it. You immediately understand what he’s implying and laugh before scooting closer and leaning your head on his shoulder.

“Okay, point made,” you concede. With a small smile, Saiki grabs the remote you’d tossed down on the couch and presses play.

He would struggle to call you high maintenance on any day considering who your friends are.  They’re loud and all over the place, practically bouncing off the walls. Life could hardly be tranquil when around them and their antics. It’s the total opposite of Saiki, who values calm and silence. If they were high maintenance, he was low maintenance. That’s the way he prefers to be, existing in relative quiet and as close to mediocrity as he can muster. But he can't say he’s opposed to the occasional interruption to the otherwise mundane, especially where it concerns you. You’re not to be found on one side or the other, but right in the middle, and to Saiki, you are just right.
