#today i was out walking with my best friend #Spacewoman Spiff #walking around our shared hometown. looking at shops and things #and it rained #we were walking around and it was humid and oppressively hot and no wind #it felt awful #and then it got darker. a large dark cloud was coming in very fast above us. #but still no wind. #it was still hot. #then it started sprinkling and it was a bit better #but still no wind. very weird #and then we were going to go in for coffee but the coffee shop had literally just closed THAT MINUTE #so we went back to the car and I kid you not #IMMEDIATELY #it started POURING. #visibility was terrible we could barely see the road. #spacewoman spiff drove up on the curb at one point (oops) #then we got to her house and it was just coming down in BUCKETS #so we went one... two... three... RUN #and we ran into the house but we were SOAKED #spiff's mom gave us these fluffy white towels to dry off with #it. was. fantastic #and then it cleared up very fast and got windy and beautiful #AND spacewoman spiff has three incredibly stupid cats and one incredibly stupid dog :) #weekend trip is going well so far!

So, so many queer people, I've noticed, can put themselves in precarious situations wherein they feel accepted by people and the queer person would do anything for those who accept them, even if it is harmful to them, even if it is scary. It feels like you are indebted to those who accept you because you know that isn't the case for every person you meet. To so many queer people, they are afraid to upset others who accept them (or "accept" them) because they are so scared of rejection. This is completely human and completely normal. But that doesn't mean you deserve to be taken advantage of. You deserve to be treated as an equal because you inherently are an equal - to everybody.

Please know that the people who truly, truly respect and care for you will understand when you can't do everything. They will still respect you, because you are a human being. Saying "no" is neutral at worst. You deserve to honour yourself, too.

I hope it wasn't too bad... #We had something similar last year #We live in a kind of a distant village #And our streets are connected to one heating system #And it was so cold last year that this station just broke #Me and my sister have been without water electricity and heat first day *giggle* It was funny to wear 2 complects of cloths and jacket #It was... like... -14 inside of home? *giggle* #On the second day we at least got electricity back and got a little heater (We were separated from parents so the have been calling 3 #times per day XDD) We closed all doors to not let the heat outside #Since we got sick and couldn't take a shower #We were able to go to school but we looked like shit XDD #Then we were lying next 2 days like potatoes in one room with a heater... it felt awful XDD #They couldn't fix the main heating system for almost 3 days #It was... funny.... never want to experience the same again and hope you will not too
