Deity Blurb 03 - Týr
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Týr/Tiw is the Heathen god of justice, law, oathes, victory (especially in battle), the Thing (a traditional legal assembly).
The Skálskaparmál names him as the son of Odin, but in Hymiskviđa Týr is called the son of the jötunn Hymir.
Týr was the only one of the Æsir brave enough to approach and feed Loki's son Fenrir, and the one who sacrificed his hand during the Binding of Fenrir.
The name Týr derives from the proto Indo-European word *deywós, meaning "god" and coming from the root *dyew, meaning "celestial" or "sky." This suggests an ancient association between Týr and dominion of the sky, which now seems to have been lost.
I don't have much experience with Týr, but in my understanding, he is a fierce and compassionate god. He is not afraid to do what is right and will fight for those who have been wronged or dealt injustice. There's a solemness about him, and he keeps his promises, even if they cost him dearly.
Offerings to Týr may include:
wolf scultpure or pendant
beef or ox meat
handmade sword or personalized sword / sword shaped object
one glove
bread, especially if torn in half
coffee
One may decorate an altar to Týr with war, justice, or Fenrir iconography; blue, purple, or white ribbons/buttons/cloths; a daggar or small sword; the rune Tiwaz (ᛏ); symbols of law; candles and incense; an offering plate and cup; ruby, tiger eye, carnelian, or pyrite.
Devotional acts to Týr may include service for your kin or community, compromise and teamwork, accepting responsibility for your actions that have harmed others, assist and humanize those with disabilities, donations or volunteer work at wildlife preserves or animal shelters (especially those that house or rehabilitate wolves), commit to overcoming obstacles/hurdles, and living with a sense of justice and courage to fight for those who have been wronged.
Spellwork calling on Týr could specialize in victory over enemies, overcoming obstacles, due process/justice served, courage, strength, or shadow work.
Hail Týr!

Love Bites pt. 6
There's nothing you hate more than the hospital.
Baker Fem Reader x Toji Fushiguro
word ct: 15.1k, 11 Chapters
Preview: Toji’s answer was another wave of tears from you. He hates to hear you cry so hard, and he hates that he’s so far away from you...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter Six: Warm Water
“I spent Thanksgiving with somebody who wasn’t Rina this time around. I’m sure you guessed it, so yes, it was with Toji and his family,” you smile. “They have such different personalities but I can tell they really care for each other. I almost started crying in the middle of it.”
You recount the last couple of weeks to Ezra while wiping him down with a warm towel. You know that the nurses do the same but you want to do something for him as well. You gently lay him back into the bed and dip the towel into the bowl of water beside you. “I guess you can say that we’re dating now. Well not that I guess, Toji said that. Actually, he asked to be together and I agreed. He wouldn’t force anything on me,” you explain to him. “Maybe it’s because I haven’t been in a relationship in so long but everything is so exciting. He still visits the shop when he can, but now I spend the weekends with him and his son.”
Your eyes widen as you realize what you admitted to your brother. “Before you get upset, Megumi’s a real sweet kid. And there’s no ex wife or girlfriend that I’m dealing with. I think the mom may have passed away, but I will wait for them to tell me when they’re ready. I think you’d like Megumi. He loves animals. I told him that you were a vet and he had so many questions that only you could answer,” you smile apologetically. “He has a little journal of different animals and their traits, then he gives those animals to different people in his life. Toji is a wolf. Yuji is a tiger. That’s Megumi’s best friend who he loves very much, even if he won’t admit it. Nobara is a fox. That’s his other best friend. Gojo’s a peacock, Nanami is a great white shark, Sukuna’s a bear, and Choso’s a jellyfish. You’ll know who I’m talking about when you wake up.”
You push a thick curl out of Ezra’s face. “I should give you a haircut,” you mutter. You clutch your hand in a fist next to his head. “It’s not that I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. You know that I’m a hopeless romantic. I fell in love too many times to count,” you chuckle to yourself. You pull your hand back into your lap and sigh. “But with him I feel… I feel safe. I realize that before I was always waiting for the ball to drop, for another horrific incident to blindside me, but I haven’t felt that impending doom hanging over my head in a while.” You release a shuddering breath and blink up at the fluorescent lights to avoid crying.
“I’m starting to clean up their house. I found mom’s cookbooks, if you can even call them that. You know she had that doctor handwriting that’s impossible to read. I also know that she never really measured anything, so all those recipes are her estimating,” you laugh softly. “I’m thinking about making those cardamon lumps she used to make for us during the holidays for Toji. I also have no idea what to get him for Christmas. Oh, speaking of getting things, I got you another book!” You dig in your bag to retrieve the new book.
You give a small smile. “It’s called Before the Coffee Gets Cold. It’s a book about time traveling, surprisingly. I won’t spoil it too much, but I would love to travel back to talk to mom and dad again, even if it won’t change anything. They even have an old cafe that they always went to that could work like the book.”
 Before you could say another word a monitor above Ezra’s head started to beep rapidly. You look at it with concern, unsure of what the machine was reading. Within seconds the other monitors screech as well. You watch in horror while red flashes on all of the screens. Ezra’s expression hasn’t changed, but you rush out of the room, screaming for a nurse or anybody to come help. A few orderlies hear your distress, alerting nearby nurses that run to your location. They all swarm to Ezra’s side, checking his vitals and yelling codes at each other. You watch helplessly behind them. Another orderly tries to pull you away from the scene but you stood stock still.
“Ma’am, you need to leave the room now.”
“Will he be okay? What’s going on?”
“He’s getting the best treatment possible, but please, you can’t stay here.”
“What’s wrong with him? What are they saying?”
“Ma’am please,” the orderly gives you a pained look.
Tears swim in your eyes when you look back onto the bed. A swirl of green, blue and white mix together when the tears get heavy enough. You allow yourself to be pulled away from the room as ordered, leaving the nurses and now doctor to treat your brother. You are led to the waiting room by yourself. The orderly offers to get water but you wave her away. You pace back and forth in the small space, your mind running wild with all the worst possibilities. In haste you trip over your own feet, stumbling into a chair at the last second to avoid hurting yourself, but everything hurts. Your heart clenches, your stomach is churning, your breaths are shallow. With shaky hands you grab your phone, pressing the first contact on your call log. With two rings the line picks up, and you're greeted with Toji’s deep voice.
“Hey baby, how are you?”
You can’t speak. The grief is too much, an invisible hand that constricts your throat so that only a choked sob falls from your lips. You want to explain what’s happening but fail again. Toji starts to panic on the other line, trying to get information out from you but the only thing he can hear is you weeping.
“Send me your location. Can you hear me? Just let me know where you are, I’ll come to you.”
“I’m at the hospital,” you whisper. “I don’t want to be alone.”
“Is it your brother? You won’t be alone.”
Toji’s answer was another wave of tears from you. He hates to hear you cry so hard, and he hates that he’s so far away from you. He looks at Nanami, who already saw his demeanor change and waves him away.
“I got it from here,” the blond man says. Toji gives him an appreciative nod, leaving him with the bloody men they cornered. Nanami already paid him no mind, getting down to business without him.
Toji looks down at the mess on the floor and realizes he has blood on his shoes. He couldn’t scare you any more with that. He doesn’t want to scare you at all. Your last words echo in his head before he hung up, about how you didn’t want to be alone. He leaves Nanami without saying another word.
Back at the hospital you wait in the empty waiting room. Despite you declining it the first time, a styrofoam cup of water sits beside you brought by the orderly. You flick it every so often, watching the ripples bounce, cross, and settle on the sides. You’ve calmed down from your call to Toji. Now there’s a cold, mucky feeling sitting heavy on your chest. You empty the contents within the cup in one gulp, trying to wash it down, but the room temperature water felt like slime going down your throat.
My favorite comics artist growing up, a huge influence, the person who's work got me to start reading comics again in high school, someone I was just a huge fan of in general. The first time I saw his work was in Creatures on the Loose, when he took over as penciler on the Man-Wolf feature. I guess I was nine years old when that came out. I missed the Sons of the Tiger and White Tiger stuff for some reason, at the time my comics fix was paid for by my father so my Marvel consumption was mostly up to what the Te-Amo on King's Highway and Nostrand Ave stocked. I bought the following Man-Wolf issues as they came out, and Avengers #141 and he drew my favorite Hawkeye and Beast and then The Inhumans and Logan's Run of all things and The Fantastic Four and that and the later Avengers stuff just cemented everything. The details to characters, costumes and backgrounds, the creativity, energy, enthusiasm, the absolute commitment to the page. Only Jack Kirby loomed larger in my superhero comic pantheon, even during the years I was huge on John Byrne's work. Perez always brought his A game, along with the thunder. I stopped reading comic books sometime after I moved to Staten Island when I was thirteen, I can't pinpoint how old I was when I fell out of the hobby. I drifted away from them for a number of reasons, some of the usual ones, but also because I was becoming increasingly interested in animation (I still wonder if was the youngest subscriber to Mike Barrier's Funnyworld fanzine in the 70s) and wanting to one day become a professional animator (great timing, as the western animation industry was calcified). But when I was 17, two guys in my art class who I was friends with, Tommy Lynch and Mark Amundsen, were still into comics and one day they told me George Perez was at DC. Which was a big deal, at the time, when creators moved around less. They kept pushing New Teen Titans on me, and finally convinced me to pick up a copy (actually Tales of/Raven). And, that was it. I was back into comics, full-time, for life. No insult to Marv Wolfman, but it was really George Perez's doing. Because he was George Perez. R.I.P. to a great one. https://www.instagram.com/p/CdRpUQwsd0B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
@ask-ultimate-personas
“ oooh! This should be interesting!” Lavenza blushes sweating as she using her binoculars to watch the persona mascot fathers in the locker room together.
“ Ummm Fey… why are you groping me and where is the towel-“ Daikimaru ( koromaru’s father) the dark reddish brown furred dire wolf beastman and his Dark reddish brown spiky yet curly hair is apparent along with his muscular build.
The other beastman being groped by Fey is Grizzlie ( teddir’s father) the ursus deningeri bear beastman without his jester outfit frilly collar and his zipper shirt taken off, Grizzlie’s light baby blue colored fur and chubby body is exposed as his gray eyes twinkle.
“ This is actually kinda fun! Ignoring the fact he’s touching our chests of course Teehee!” Grizzlie says
Fey ( Morgana’s father) the primarily white furred with black accents and stripes sabertooth Tiger beastman with a thin body and green turquoise Chan eyes is groping both Daikimaru and Grizzlie, being just as perverted as his son Morgana.
“ Hehe~ yeah~ big chests are justice after all~” Fey coos.
“ My- My! What extreme passions of the beastmen! I feel so alive!” Lavenza says blushing at the extreme & erotic scene in front of her, hopefully big sis Margaret doesn’t catch her.
Horace
Let the wicked be led by omens of screeching
from owls, by pregnant dogs, or a grey-she wolf,
hurrying down from Lanuvian meadows,
or a fox with young:
May a snake disturb the journey they’ve started,
terrifying the ponies like an arrow
flashing across the road: but I far-seeing
augur, with prayer
for him whom I’m fearful for, out of the east
I’ll call up the ominous raven, before
the bird that divines the imminent showers
seeks standing water.
Galatea, wherever you choose to live
may you be happy, and live in thought of me:
no woodpecker on your left, or errant crow
to bar your going.
But see, with what storms flickering Orion
is setting. I know how the Adriatic’s
black gulf can be, and how the bright westerly
wind commits its sins.
Let the wives and children of our enemy
feel the blind force of the rising southerly,
and the thunder of the dark waters, the shores
trembling at the blow.
So, Europa entrusted her snow-white form
to the bull’s deceit, and the brave girl grew pale,
at the sea alive with monsters, the dangers
of the deep ocean.
Leaving the meadow, where, lost among flowers,
she was weaving a garland owed to the Nymphs,
now, in the luminous night, she saw nothing
but water and stars.
As soon as she reached the shores of Crete, mighty
with its hundred cities, she cried: ‘O father,
I’ve lost the name of daughter, my piety
conquered by fury.
Where have I come from, where am I going? One
death is too few for a virgin’s sin. Am I
awake, weeping a vile act, or free from guilt,
mocked by a phantom,
that fleeing, false, from the ivory gate brings
only a dream? Is it not better to pick
fresh flowers than to go travelling over
the breadths of the sea?
If anyone now could deliver that foul
beast to my anger, I’d attempt to wound it
with steel, and shatter the horns of that monster,
the one I once loved.
I’m shameless, I’ve abandoned my country’s gods,
I’m shameless, I keep Orcus waiting. O if
one of the gods can hear, I wish I might walk
naked with lions!
Before vile leanness hollows my lovely cheeks,
and the juices ebb in this tender victim,
while I am still beautiful, I’ll seek to be
food for the tigers.
My absent father urges me on: ‘Why wait
to die, worthless Europa? Happily you
can hang by the neck from this ash-tree: use
the sash that’s with you.
Or if cliffs and the sharpened rocks attract you,
as a means of death, put your trust in the speed
of the wind, unless you’d rather be carding
some mistress’s wool,
you, of royal blood, be handed over, as
concubine to a barbarous queen.’ She moaned:
Venus was laughing, treacherously, with her
son, his bow unstrung.
When she’d toyed enough with her, she said: ‘Refrain
from anger and burning passion, when the bull,
you hate, yields you his horns again, so that you
can start to wound them.
Don’t you know you’re invincible Jupiter’s
wife. Stop your sobbing, and learn to carry your
good fortune well: a continent of the Earth
will be named for you
Can I request a fnaf security breach x reader/headcannons please? Where the glamrocks (including bonnie and foxy, if you don't mind) recieve a tiny animatronic that resemble the baby of their species (bear cub,wolf pup,chick, ect...) and its intended to keep them company and help them backstage. And the baby animatronic believes they are their actual parent
It's okay If you can't/don't want to do all of them Freddy, monty and bonnie would be fine (if you actually want to do this request)
Oh! I saw you request this to another blog and I found it adorable so I'm happy to do this one! This'll help me flesh out ideas for my Glam Bonnie and Foxy.
We'll just say Reader is the creator of these little babies
.........
Glamrock Freddy
Freddy Jr. is the designated name for his orange-brown bear cub animatronic. No ifs, ands, or buts.
You explain that he's just a little companion to help him calm down backstage before a show or keep him company when the Pizzaplex is closed.
Freddy instantly engages “Papa Bear” protocol 24/7, letting Freddy Jr hang out in his stomach hatch and the green room.
In no time Freddy Jr is attached to him, calling him "papa”.
He absolutely treasures this cub and would defend him with his life if need be.
Roxanne
A companion is something she needed more than anyone, so she was the first to receive her own.
A little wolf pup with tiger stripes like hers and glowing gold eyes. She has a tiny green streak on top of her head. She’s given the name “Lil Rox”.
Being called “mom” really melted Roxanne’s heart and she nearly sobbed when she first called her that.
This pup has really helped her with her mental health and self-esteem. Like a lot.
Even when Lil Rox’s just rolling around in the dirt in Roxy Raceway with not a single thought behind her eyes, Roxanne can’t help but feel proud.
With her eye upgrade she can see where she is at all times, so they’re never far from each other.
Glamrock Chica
A cupcake would’ve been too predictable and unoriginal. So you got a bit more creative.
Considering white chickens are adults, you created a mini animatronic Chica chick that was a pastel yellow, similar to her predecessors.
Glam Chica immediately adored her, scooping her up and being oh-so-gentle as she carried her around.
She ended up nicknaming her “Cupcake” but you didn’t mind. She was so happy.
Cupcake helps her ease her nerves whenever a show starts, or if she’s had a bad day after getting yelled at for digging through the trash.
After the Monty Mystery Mix incident, she vows to keep her chick away from that stuff at all costs.
But she’ll occasionally bring back some pepperoni or other toppings.
The mother hen in her is truly thriving.
Montgomery
At first he’s like “what’s this? I ain’t his mama” as he dangles Lil Monty Jr by his tail and looks at him over his glasses.
You scold him for holding the tiny little gator in such a way, and in the back of your mind you worry he’s not fit to be a dad.
Yet five minutes later you come back to Monty Golf and see the two together, with LM Jr watching Monty practice his golfing skills, sitting on the shoulder plate.
You’d ask what he thinks but suddenly he snarls and gets overly protective.
You take it as “yes I love and cherish him”.
Surprisingly he hasn’t had as many fits of anger lately, as LM Jr is always there to calm him down and be a good influence.
Like Roxy, a companion to call his own is exactly what he needed.
Glamrock Bonnie
Papa Rabbit is here!
He adores the soft baby bunny you designed for him, giving the little bugger a hug and showing him around Bonnie Bowl.
And yes, “Bugger” is the nickname he gives to him.
Unfortunately the bowling balls are a bit too heavy for him to carry, so Bonnie lets him watch a few games and write down whenever he gets a strike, miss, or spare.
Not that he needs to write anything as the overhead TVs keep score.
But it’s a great father-son bonding moment.
Glamrock Foxy
Rather than a parrot (again, too predictable and unoriginal), you present a little fox with a bandana on his head and an eyepatch on the opposite eye.
Foxy immediately adopts him as his First Mate, overjoyed and ready to teach him all there is about the seven seas.
The little kit loves interacting with the kids at the Kid’s Cove, playing in the sand and jumping on different structures.
Foxy’s pleased to have a son who shares his love for adventures!
Oh, and First Mate definitely chases his tail sometimes.
Such a sweet moment for the fox who’s usually so rough around the edges.
WHAT DO YOU M E A N VALJEAN’S FURSONA IS CANONICALLY A CAT
I mean what I said!!!!!! It’s canon and I have proof!!! (Although this is just my personal Hot Take and @lawisnotmocked is tumblr’s resident Les Mis animal symbolism expert)
Javert’s fursona is canonically a dog-- we all know this, everyone knows this. Hugo literally tells us he is the “dog son of a wolf” and reiterates that on every page. There is no argument there. But I argue that Valjean is a cat, it’s just more subtle.
The first animal he’s compared to by a peasant in Digne is a “Tso-Maraude,” or marauding feral cat. When he steals the bishop’s silver he’s describing as creeping into the room as furtively as a cat, and then leaping away like a tiger.
In Javert’s introduction he’s described as realizing that Madeleine is Valjean because he is a Dog and can feel that Madeleine is a Cat:
A sort of incorruptible and imperturbable instinct kept (Javert) on the alert and uneasy. It seems, in fact, as though there existed in certain men a veritable bestial instinct (......) (that) secretly warns the man-dog of the presence of the man-cat.....
Javert canonically starts to suspect that Madeleine is Valjean because “I’m sensing ..........his fursona is the opposite of mine!”
Imagine Javert walking up to the prefecture like “Here’s my evidence against Madeleine: My fursona is a dog. And my dog senses are picking up that Madeleine’s fursona is a cat! And Valjean was also a cat!”  And the prefecture’s like “what” but Javert is actually Right. Modern AU where Javert suspects Madeleine after he posts a fursona on his instagram and Javert’s like ”only one man would have a fursona like that” And everyone thinks he’s crazy but he’s Right)
Valjean is compared to a wide variety of animals throughout the book-- owls, bears, etc-- but rereading the book I feel like cats/wildcats are the most important one. When he’s stealing the silver, he’s described as being “stealthy as a cat.”  When Javert collars him he’s described as being like a “lion.” etc etc.
In the arai Manga (where every character has fursonas) Valjean’s fursona is a lion. In special moments where the other characters are seeing into his soul, his soul appears as a magnificent white lion. Here’s Cosette meeting Valjean for the first time:
Tumblr media
(KITTY)
@pilferingapples has done a longer post on the meaning of Cat Imagery in Les Mis (which I can’t find at the moment) but cats are generally used to represent sympathetic characters, while dog imagery tends to be used on Disasters like Javert.
But the biggest thing for me is that Valjean.....acts like a cat????????
He really does act like a cat.
I can’t stress how much Valjean acts like a cat.
The most obviously cat-like thing about Valjean is how he’s always Climbing Around Paris. Just  hopping around, stealthy and cat-like. He’s always doing rad stunts at 3am. He’s doing “reverse cat burglaries,” where he breaks into people’s houses to leave them money. He’s doing parkour and climbing around weird places, clambering on the hulls of boats and scuttling through the sewers. Climbing up a sheer convent wall like it’s nothing.
The duality of Valjean’s character is that he’s quiet, gentle, shy, thoughtful, peaceful, solitary, and soft...........until it’s 3am and time to do some RAD STUNTS!!!!!!
It’s very cat-like!! It really is. The way Valjean is just, this quiet gentle creature who does wild parkour stunts.
Valjean climbing into the convent and getting Stuck because he doesn’t know how to climb back out===has the exact same energy as a cat climbing up a tree and then getting Stuck because it doesn’t how to climb back down.
Valjean is also an escape artist who doesn’t like being confined in spaces and will do ridiculous magical stunts to get out of it. Honestly, that reminds me of how my cat always seems to find elaborate ways to escape the house. If a cat wants to go outside, they will GET outside. (Even if they have to bury themselves alive in a coffin in a truly wacky coffin heist!)
He also has a lot of very cat-like habits and behaviors, especially in the way he interacts with people. Like- he’s very solitary and doesn’t like being around crowds. His favorite hobby is pacing the streets of his neighborhoods alone. He tends to wander from place to place, from one home to the next, like a stray cat. He shies away from people--- unless it’s the One or Two People He Knows, at which point he becomes Extremely Clingy. And his way of socializing with Cosette is often like..... “we’re in the same room together, but we’re both doing our own separate things. :D”
And also like..........in every town he’s in, Valjean gets treated like the neighborhood’s friendly stray cat. Because Valjean’s favorite hobby is to walk around the neighborhood, people start recognizing him- and because he’s shy/reclusive they always end up giving him cute little nicknames, the way you nickname a stray cat. Like when Valjean goes to the Luxembourg gardens all the time, the students nickname him “Monsieur LeBlanc” because of his white hair. In Paris with 8-year old Cosette he gets nicknamed The Beggar Who Gives Alms, in Montreuil-Sur-Mer he gets nicknamed Father Madeleine. (In M-sur-M kids also used to follow after him because he’s nice to children/gives them gifts-- which reminds me of the way kids will excitedly follow around a friendly stray cat hoping it will let them pet him.)
But yeah the villagers always seem to talk about Valjean like a stray cat. “Oh that’s Monsieur LeBlanc/Father Madeleine/The Beggar Who Gives Alms! He just showed up one day, and likes to walk around the neighborhood! :3 We don’t know where he came from, but he’s just the sweetest thing!!”
