Attention all Neurodivergent & Queer folk
Hello everyone!! A friend of mine and I run a a discord server for Neurodivergent & Queer community. You can be Neurospicy or Queer maybe both! We are a small (but growing server) and we welcome diversity, no matter what race or religion or where you’re from. We all love the friends that live internationally. We also love to break the language barrier. Because most of us are interested in learning multiple languages. Especially if you speak a one of the languages we are interested in learning, so we will definitely poke your brain for questions about said language.
This server was/is created because no one else understood us & it was a good way for us to finally be yourself with others that understand. And learning how to manage our lifestyles by sharing tips and ideas, because we can relate to each other one or another. This community is for us to feel safe and understood. I'm scared. I'm starting to withdraw too much from reality.
I find myself retreating more and more into my imagination and despising the real world so much that I just don't want to be a part of it anymore, it's just not enriching or interesting enough.
Almost all my time spent these days is at work or worrying about work or dealing with financial stress and debt, fearing death and the decline in my physical health since covid.
The only things that being me any kind of joy anymore are books, movies, shows, fanfiction, and what I dream when I'm asleep.
It scares me. I don't want to be like this again. The last time I was like this was when I was a teenager living with depression and a toxic and abusive parent.
If I had no responsibilities like i did when I was a kid, I wouldn't feel bad about withdrawing into fiction like I did before, but I have money to earn so I can pay bills and keep a roof over my head. I have appointments to make and a body to take care of.
It's all so monotonous and tiring.
There's barely anything making me want to stay present anymore.
I want to live my dreams, not this dystopian, capitalist nightmare I was forced into 26 years ago.

Okay, legit, does anyone have advice for a super bad ADHD art block that isn't "set a timer/force yourself to do it".
Because I've been going insane for weeks now. I desperately WANT to do something, but any attempt made at drawing or writing is met with my brain acting like im trying to shove my hand into a hot oven. Like, no amount of deadlines or timers does anything i just -cant-. Its honestly making me really sad because i know i want to and i don't understand why its suddenly so bad. But if i read one more thing telling me "just force it!♡" i will explode something with my mind LOL
Just. Other neuro-spiceys plz if you have advice im all ears.

ADHD Story:
I was journaling when my back hurt, so I got up did a little twist cracked my back then was like "I have to pee" went to the bathroom and saw my skincare, so I did my skincare.
I got emotional about memories of doing my recently passed away Grandmother's skincare & had a train of thought that lead me on a story time social media post.
Came back into my room I thought "what was I doing? Idk but I'm hungry" went into the kitchen to make cream of rice. Walked back into room "why am I in here? Idk? Man I should take these dirty dishes out" proceeds to take dirty dishes out of bedroom and scrub them in the sink.
(Hears timer on microwave) "oh yeah food" finishes making breakfast, grabs a drink and heads back into room. Sits food down on side table and thinks "I need to clean up the trash this is driving me crazy" proceeds to pick up trash, burns out half way through thinks "well better than nothing".
Sits down to eat, food is now cold 😆. Sees writing pad on bed and remembers I was writing ✍️ and proceeds to eat while writing.
Full circle 🤣

feeling like ive hit my burn out,,, the thought of going out somewhere and having to pretend i want to be there is soul crushing right now. even in jobs ive had for forever. not sure how im supposed to make any income when my anxiety hardly lets me leave the house.

This is to anyone but mostly my neurospicy friends. There are a couple if’s at play so hear me out. If you have snow (and the snow isn’t a no no texture), if you like the cold, and if you have an area with snow that’s like fenced off and people can’t see you, I think you’ll find this fun.
1. Put on like 6-7 layers of pants and maybe a shirt or two, but something comfy.
If you want to grab a blanket or two for some extra padding and bring those outside with you.
2. Grab an earbud or headphone but I recommend leaving one out for gigs and shiggles, and play any music you want.
3. Next go to your backyard or secluded snowy area, and- If you brought blankets fold them up and stack them first- sit down in the snow.
4. Then just sit there.
If your anything like me you enjoy zoning out but can hardly do it for more than 2-5 mins because of other people. I was able to some out to music for like 30 mins and I only went in because the snow seeped through because I only hard 4 layers of pants on.

If you want more details:
I sat there and listened to music and didn’t move, like I stayed completely still (except for my hands) which is rare for me. I just kinda played with the snow and let myself be. There were no people around to bug me and I couldnt see any bugs if there were any. I didn’t have gloves on or a hat or anything and I was just in like heaven istg. 12/10 highly recommend
