Nonbinary language is awesome! It's amazing! Enban, xenic, diamory, maverique, abinary, neopronoun, androgyne, trixic, duosex, enby, exorsexism, ceterosexual, salmacian, there are many such examples of beautiful nonbinary vocabulary.
Our language gets held down and smothered by binary people who call it "cringe" or "weird" or "gen z/alpha" or "artificial" or "too new". All language is created for purposes! Everything has a start, everything was once new.
Use our language! Make it common, make it normal, even if it's only amongst other enben. Don't let exorsexists demoralise you into letting our nonbinary vocabulary fall into obscurity when it's objectively amazing. Erasing a community's language removes their culture, removes their visibility, removes their identity. Don't let exorsexists remove your identity. Our language is not weird, our language is not too new. It may be obscure but with common usage, it won't become obsolete.

Enbys: People don't really accept our identity and the use of they/them pronouns and neo-pronouns are consistently belittled.
Aromantics: People don't accept the fact that we are apart of the lgbtq+ community because we don't want to date anyone. Some people think we just need to find "the one".
Asexuals: People constantly tell us that sex is an important part of relationships and all couples have sex. We are expected to "eventually" want sex.
Me, who is all three: I am a ghost, I am invisible and no one sees me. I identify as a threat. I will steal the attraction of you and your partner no matter what your sexualities are. I will flirt with both of you and then slip out in the dead of night, leaving you with nothing but an ache in your heart and the wish of a kiss that you'll never get. I am gentle god with a heart of fire and a soul of steel. I will care for you and support you, but misgender me and I shall remove the supports in your knees.

The amount of nonbinary friends I've had ask me, a binary trans man, if they're "allowed" to call themselves a part of the trans community is so sad. Yes, of course you can. We are all in this together. You can fly the trans flag you can call yourself trans you can celebrate TDOV and mourn TDOR with us please come hold my hand and fight by my side. When you started identifying as nonbinary you got an optional trans bundle, too—you don't have to take it but you absolutely should if you want to. The white stripe is for you.

Writing any kind of story is a scary proposition, especially if it deals with personal stuff. And writing about trans people during a bogus moral panic is especially daunting -- it's easy to either pull your punches, or feel as though the burden of good trans representation weighs on your shoulders.
The good news is that we are living during a time of extreme riches when it comes to trans stories, and a ton of wonderful authors are writing trans tales that defy categorization and bust through boundaries. So please write the story that speaks to you, the story that only you can tell about your own obsessions and dreams. It can be scary or funny or comforting or escapist, or all of the above — don't worry that what you write will be singled out as the One True Trans Story, or seen as a representation of all trans people. Just write your story.

i met a queer high schooler today, at my job
throughout the interaction i had with them, i watched them become more relaxed and open, simply seeing me as a queer adult doing my job
i sort of feel like i served as an example for that student, of a queer person existing successfully in society.
i could pick up on their habits mannerisms and fashion, and related my own experiences to that. they were visibly disabled, so i wanted to ease their mind about accessibility concerns in the building, so i mentioned my heart condition and trouble with walking up stairs. they were immediately more comfortable. we used the elevator
i complimented their nonbinary pride flag bracelet, and pushed my hair aside so they could see my name badge with my pronouns, and they smiled.
it's so freeing to be seen without the expectation for any explanation, and i know that so i wanted to give them that peace of mind. i wanted to show them that the world outside of high school is survivable. hope is not crushed, i am here, i am visibly queer, and so it is possible for them too.
