#town of puddle #ocs #a few people were wondering about the meaning so I'll try to explain it #it's a bit about failing to be the daughter or child who fits in or lives up to expectations #it's also about mommy issues and passing those down in a cycle #hence moon cycle! #each of the little angels represents a mother and child #I was inspired by that one scene in Turning Red #the central figure is inspired by the pregnant woman in Klimt's Hope II #she's the symbolic Mother Moon #a fusion of all the mothers in the Moon family #she loves her baby very much but her eyes are closed to the cycle she is a part of #it's kind of a sad piece but it's also very much about motherly love

Still thinking about that little angel I dreamt about a bit ago so I’ve been binging other angel stuff and felt inspired to try to draw him as @hoaxghost ‘s style of angel.

#weirdly the halo was the hardest part to figure out because he very explicitly doesn’t usually have one. but man I’m charmed by it now #I was worried about balancing what’s damage he received VS slight cracks that ended from that damage making him a bit too human in nature #but it turned out pretty nicely even if it was hard to keep them simple and contained #still very proud of the stylization on his eyes making it look like the bottom one is a teardrop #nope he’s a freak #also yeah committing to he/himing the angel #less in a Boy Way and more in a like… gendering a hen male because you need to refer to that specific hen instead of the group #the boy vs the girls #idk if that makes any sense but that’s my own grammar and how it affects the little grub #my art #my ocs

I've actually started trying (!!!) to write Dawn's story into a fic and while angels won't be playing that big of a role in the story overall (not currently as far as I've planned anyways) there is some that might pop up at some point - and Azrael is one of them, so I needed a design for him haha

He's very tall even in his most reduced forms, but actually a gentle giant who cares greatly for mortal souls, since he deals with them so much :'3 so naturally, he's immediately a big fan of what Charlie is trying to do once Emily explains it to him
