141 + könig x cold! squadmate
gn! reader. lowkey inspired by widowmaker from overwatch, mostly platonic unless you squint. reader is very close to laswell in a platonic way + set backstory.
reader x price, gaz, ghost, soap, and 141! konig bc bias. messed with the timeline a little in post-mwii but they’re still 141 and recruited konig. 3k words.
part 2 here.
warnings: canon-typical violence mention. strong language.
callsign is azrael but only mentioned once or twice.
Tumblr media
  price
Azrael. Angel of death. What the hell did you do to get a callsign like that? Price was almost afraid to ask — if it’s anything like Ghost’s callsign, it can’t be a happy story.
Your file was almost entirely blacked out, but the scant few that he could read was impressive, if not bloody. Laswell always called on you for her most delicate tasks, plenty of it related to human trafficking and stealth operations. You’re not tied to a single company, more a solo merc than a soldier among many, but you’ve served alongside enough armies that your lack of a badge doesn’t matter.
And there’s that feeling again in Price. The dulled rush of anticipation, of knowing that he’s got a good one in his hands, bursting with potential. Laswell recognized it the moment she saw him reading your file for the first time.
“Don’t poach all my good men, Price,” she sighed, but gave him your contact details, regardless.
He wasn’t surprised that you turned him down. Your file was rather explicit in telling him that you’re more a lone wolf than a mainstay. But by the fifth rejected call, he had to play the ‘Laswell’s Christmas drinking buddy’ card and get her to convince you.
It was then that he'd seen you in person for the first time, in the cold light of one of Laswell's safehouses, and it'd be a cold day in hell before Price lets himself get intimidated by anyone, but hell was feeling a little chilly that night.
Still, he'd recruited Ghost. He'd recruited König. Surely, he knew how to handle you.
…right.
Your problem, which Laswell already warned him about, was that while you followed his orders in a professional sense, there was a difference between obedience and genuine respect, the second of which you’d only reserved for Laswell.
Price wasn’t particular about demanding respect from anyone and everyone, but he also had the urge to help you open up, to untangle that knot of bitterness and cold that kept you silent. Yet the distance between your ranks was too wide, with a wall of ice damn near impenetrable for Price. Not that he was the type to give up when faced with such challenges.
If you smoked, he’d easily offer a cigar, but if you didn’t, he’d do most of the talking as you silently stood by him during his smoke breaks just by his office window.
You reminded him a little of Ghost that way, ever the silent shadow with haunted eyes and an icy composure. You also insisted on calling him Captain, which wouldn’t have been an issue if not for how robotic you sounded, even in small talk.
When it got around that Gaz managed to get you to warm up, Price felt half relieved, and half like he'd just been upstaged. That was his job as captain, damn it. He watched you grow from the sidelines, slowly defrosting as you spent more time with the others.
The day after your first leave together out to the pub, he wanted to shut Soap up because of how much he bragged about you taking care of him. Something about you giving him hangover cures and making him food. But he couldn’t have been prouder when he told Laswell the same story.
During your smoke break chats by the window, Price always gave you advice through his stories and musings.
It was only on the last day of your contract that you said anything yourself.
“Kate trusts you.” You spoke suddenly, under the moon of a quiet night.
Price didn’t respond immediately, afraid to break the sudden fragile atmosphere between you two, and silently urged you to continue.
“...she was captured on your watch.” The accusatory sting in your tone was like a knife in the dark.
Price dipped his head low. “And we fought like hell to get her back. We don’t leave our men behind.”
“I know.”
A long silence followed. You were assessing him. Mulling over whether this task force was worth your time or Laswell’s trust. Price could see it in your eyes, and as much as he’d want to convince you to stay right there, that olive branch was already extended a long time ago by Gaz, Soap, Ghost, and even König. As captain, it was his duty to keep you in line. As Price, he wanted to earn your trust. To trust you himself to make that decision.
When his last cigar for the night burned low, the sliver of smoke joining the creeping sunrise, you hummed.
“See you later, Price.”
You retreated back into his office, and from behind him, Price heard the rustle of paper. You left without another word.
He might have rushed to his desk to see what you’d done to his paperwork, and a low, rough chuckle bubbled from within his chest.
You signed his offer.
ghost
‘Laswell’s attack dog.’ That was the cruel summary of your file.
Ghost was the first person Price consulted with on getting you in the team. From how Price and Laswell described you, it slowly dawned on Ghost just how much Laswell trusted you.
If the 141 fails, Laswell will send you.
Naturally, that made Ghost a little wary of you. He trusted Price, he trusted Laswell, but he didn't trust this outlier. You're another sniper, too. Just what he needed after König joined up. Wonderful.
He wasn’t subtle in his caution against you, but it wasn’t supposed to be subtle. It was a warning.
You didn’t cause trouble. Quite the opposite, in fact: you were quiet. Too quiet. Always tending your gear or spending hours at the range, seeming to only have the next battle in mind. He had to check the security feed to make sure that you were going to your room at night and getting food instead of living at the range 24/7.
By that point he’d decided to go to the range and see you for himself.
“Where’d you learn?”
He couldn’t help but ask as you perfected a whole round of targets. You weren’t startled by his presence, already having heard his quiet steps long before he saw you.
“Picked it up as a habit,” was your frosty reply. “Then did it for money.”
“How old were you?”
“Ask Kate.”
There it was. He had his suspicions about how you came to be so attached to Laswell. If you’d served in enough missions, or if there was something deeper than that, with how you would kill for her without question or how Laswell trusted your strength, yet still discreetly asked Price to keep an eye on your well-being.
“Suppose I won’t,” he said, and that was enough for your to pause and turn back to him.
“Thought you were grilling me for info, LT.”
“I know when not to pry. You better not bring old enemies to us.”
“The dead can’t walk.”
Were you cold? Distant? A bit mean? Yes, yes, and yes. But Ghost was patient. So long as you weren’t a threat or nuisance to the team, you could stay. You were even one of the more obedient ones, so he wasn’t complaining.
That changed when he partnered with you on the field for the first time. It was also your first mission with the others, as you were usually the sniper from the far back instead of charging in with them.
Amid the sands and gunpowder, you were a machine. No enemy slipped past your combined strength, and you complemented each other’s combat styles perfectly. He goes in with the heavy fire while you shot down snipers like you already knew exactly where they were.
“Fuckin’ splendid, soldier,” he said on the way back, when everyone else was asleep.
“I try, sir.”
He looked forward to training with you from then on, silently one-upping each other’s skills from shooting to sparring in an endless chase to the top. The competition grew notorious enough that other soldiers began approaching you for advice on how to improve themselves or to compliment your skills, garnering a reaction from you that only Ghost could tell was embarrassment.
Despite not being as close to you as the rest, your standoffishness and frigid personality were things that Ghost was familiar enough with that he could see right through you.
“Aw no, another Ghost?” Soap once complained when Price sent them your file. Ghost had only scoffed then at the ridiculous notion.
Now, though, as you silently fussed over your teammates while insisting that you weren’t at all concerned, it made him feel a little warm inside.
Nothing wrong with a second Ghost if it meant more people looking out for his comrades.
And with how you seemed to have König wrapped around your little finger, Ghost could at least trust you with keeping him in line.
  gaz
He can’t explain why, but there’s something about you that reminded him of his old anger; the frustration he had with how much injustice the world let slip between the cracks, the helplessness he’d felt before he met Price.
Your relationship with Laswell… it’s a little like his own with Price, but in the place of brotherhood or mentorship is something quiet and mournful, the kind of loyalty forged out of a dark place. It’s clear that you view Laswell as a kind of savior, the type you’d owe your life to. It’s the only way to explain why you only come back to her.
Gaz kept his distance, unlike Soap. He could tell when you needed space and respected it — unlike Soap. Or Price. Or — he couldn’t believe it — Ghost. It’s just Gaz being respectful, definitely not related to feelings of intimidation or fear. Maybe.
Funnily enough, it’s that wordless consideration of your alone time that made Gaz the first person you warmed up to. It was only a brief chat about when the next resupply for ammo comes in. You’d been running low for a while and your kit is rather specialized, but Gaz was the first you’d spoken to without hostility or work in mind.
With that ice broken, the next conversations were slow-going, but easier. Shared watch duty where Gaz babbled mindlessly about everything he'd been thinking about, just to keep himself awake, while you listened silently, but intently.
Gaz didn't know that you were actually paying attention until you started setting out his favorite tea in the morning without a word or clearing your throat before entering a room because he hated getting startled. Those were things he'd only told you at night, when he thought you were barely tolerating him.
Instead of a terrifying shadow, he started to see the human side of you. The considerate side that you tried to hide with a bitter scowl when he brought it up. Dare he say it, it was a little endearing, like the grumpy stray cat he used to feed as a kid.
When the rest of the 141 noticed, he'd automatically been designated as your unofficial 'translator.' He could decode any of your blank (and sometimes terrifying) expressions to the letter.
"Quit it, Soap, they need a nap."
"Captain, you're bumping into their injured shoulder, sir."
"LT, might want to hide your tea stash, think they saw your cup."
"König, come back! We just wanted to compare gear!... Eh, sorry mate, he's gone."
"What d'you want, black coffee or... latte? Huh. Two lattes, please."
Usually, when you'd be paired up with Gaz, you're the sniper supporting him from far away. Your quiet murmur over the comms, even in a firefight, instantly calmed him down and Gaz swore that he worked better when he knew you were watching him.
Post-mission naps on your shoulder didn’t sound too bad, either. That was a privilege he wasn’t going to give up to anyone. No matter how annoying about it Soap got.
soap
We know Ghost's attitude didn't stop Soap from getting all buddy-buddy with him.
But even then, your demeanor, as sharp as a coldsnap and twice as biting, gave him pause. He's spoiled with reactions from other people to his presence, whether it's reciprocated friendliness or annoyance at his energetic personality. Total apathy, with a tinge of hostility, only came from Ghost and you. And Ghost warmed up to the guy already, so your silence bothered him a little.
Not that he hated you, but it stirred a competitive urge to challenge your coldness and finally get you to crack.
Mercifully, he somehow didn't end up getting killed in the process of fighting for your attention. He's not subtle about it, though: other people on base always referred to him as your 'pet dog' when he's looking for you.
"Hey, your Scottish Terrier came by, was yowling for your attention."
"Put your dog on a leash, would you? He won't stop interrupting R&D to ask where you are."
"Feed your pup, sergeant, he looks pitiful from over here."
But you didn’t look down on him the way others do. You didn’t see some kid trying to play hero, who got lucky because Price took a shine to him and had no other skills to speak of. You looked down on him the same way you did at everyone else: a detached gaze from your metaphorical ice castle, nothing more. And in a twisted way, it’s refreshing.
When he found out that you'd gotten close with Gaz before anyone else, he was ready to whine. Ghost certainly got the worse end of his complaints. Since then, he'd butt into yours and Gaz's conversations, especially when you started joining the boys for lunch instead of eating alone.
It was only on your first leave together, your first civilian outing, that Soap realized that you were closer than he'd thought.
While he was drinking at the pub, you carefully watched him, silently looking out for signs of him getting too drunk, at which point you'd begun secretly ordering watered-down versions of his drink until it was practically juice.
Even with how wasted he was, he saw through your trick, but all was forgiven by the next morning when you'd cared for him through his hangover in your own, grumpy way. You even cooked breakfast for him, but he wouldn’t tell you that it was practically tasteless and mostly hangover cures. The thought counts, right?
And wow, he would not stop rubbing the fact that you took care of him all over 141’s faces.
“Watch your back, Gaz. I’ll be takin’ your spot soon!”
“Johnny, it’s two in the fucking morning.”
“You can’t be their favorite and Price’s at the same time. Pick one!”
“No. Besides, think König is second to me, not you.”
“The fuck?”
könig
You reminded him of the deep winters of his deployments in the north. Cold, cruel, yet beautiful. Sorrowful. Lonely. Silent. Calming.
Make no mistake, the first few months with you around, König was sure he was going to have a breakdown. Your lightless stare bored holes into him, no matter how hard he tried to hide from your field of view. It took enough of his energy to resist the urge to hide behind any of his new 141 teammates. Seriously, how did he get along better with Ghost than with you when you didn't even have a mask?
It didn't matter if you’re built like Ghost or the scrappiest operator around: your chilling aura always left König with his hands clammy and breaths a little short.
If Gaz pre-friendship was giving you space, König was running from you at first sight.
But when König watched you grow close with the rest of the 141, his sharp eyes catching that lightning-fast flicker of tenderness on your face, it was over for him. He had to see it again, like sunlight glancing off fresh ice.
Cue the big guy trailing after you helplessly, like a fidgety shadow, that the other 141 members politely pretended to ignore. Not that he's any good at hiding.
König may have done a good job at absolutely shattering his terrifying image with his actions at base, but when you're on the field, he's an entirely different person.
A beast. A hunter. A king of the battlefield. He's covered in blood from head to toe, glee rushing through his veins as he bludgeoned two men with his bare hands. For a moment, he wondered if you would be impressed with his kill count. You must be. Then he thought for another moment. Then another.
And he remembered that you were his partner for this mission, and that no, this was not a good look for him.
Slowly, horrified, he turned back to you. You looked over the aftermath: a warehouse filled with bodies, not all of them slain with bullets, and broken weapons. König barely heard you convey your victory to Captain Price over the comms, even if you were right in front of him.
It was only when you clapped him on the arm that he snapped to attention: both from your touch and the miniscule smirk on your lips.
"Don't forget to watch your six."
"You... are not... afraid?"
"Just glad I'm not on your bad side. Let's go."
On the next missions, König would restrain his bloodlust a little, if only to see you in action himself. You moved smoothly and quietly, just like a shadow leaving death in your wake. He watched you snuff out an entire enemy safehouse without anyone noticing.
You truly were the Angel of Death, going from door to door, taking lives like it was divine decree. There was never a more beautiful sight.
König was... stuck to you like glue, to say the least. He'd slowly begun joining you at target practice, or sparring, or running into you around the base and coincidentally offering his help with the reports you meant to file.
Whether you noticed or not, he didn’t care. Actually, he wouldn’t mind if you noticed how helpful he’d been. The more you saw him as reliable, the more you’d be willing to be his buddy on the field, yes? And the more he’d get to see you in action, no?
Now, if only the others would stop hogging you for a second… he could interrupt that conversation you were having with Ghost… if Ghost wasn’t looking… any time now…

ಌ theme: you've been sparring with him for a little while now, but you keep getting distracted

ಌ wc: 2.2K
ಌ notes: [link to pt. 2] hi hello!! thank you so so much for requesting this! i've been dying to write for him, so anyone that reads this, do not hesitate to request more of him, maybe even a pt 2? maybe? hehe >:)
The past couple of weeks were hectic. You had asked Alhaitham if it was okay for him to train you, help you get better with a sword. The sudden reasoning was because you’d heard a certain harbinger could use a plethora of weapons, and he was the talk of the town in Liyue that managed to make its way to Sumeru. It was more of a competence and challenge for yourself, wanting to get better in something that could prove worthwhile later.
Al Haitham was more than willing to help, which was a surprise and you didn’t expect him to be so enthusiastic to help you. He had asked to see how you fight, and he was quick to pin down some things that you could improve on, especially when it came to being on the defensive and to watch out for certain weak spots. Using long wooden batons than swords, you went at it for hours every day, and no matter how hard you tried you couldn’t even get a hit in with him. At first it felt pointless, but he started praising you after a while because he knew you were getting stronger and that will to fight was as well, the glint in your eye that would catch him off guard when you threw yourself at him. His reflexes were on point when he managed to guard himself with his own wooden baton, the impact and vibration of the two hitting together rumbling through your hands and up your arms.
However, the more time you spent with him, the more the feelings that you didn’t think would awaken inside of you until… It did. It crept its way into your heart and bloomed like the many flowers and trees that surrounded you both, in a way that the vision dendro always caught your eye. You got distracted a lot in the start of your training sessions, having to be reprimanded at the start to keep your focus. But how could you when you had such amazing fucking pecs in your face? Strong arms?? And when he swivelled, foot going under you to trip you up, moving in such a graceful way. His thighs flexing with each dodge and lunge, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he downed water, droplets of sweat rolling down the side of his face to his jawline, it evaporating as you stared at his face. The face he would make when he’d catch you as well. He knew you were staring a lot more lately, but he himself couldn’t tell if it was to predict his next moves or… Something else.
When you had stared a little longer than usual, he managed to get behind you like a flash, wooden baton cracking off your ass. The noise that spilled out your mouth was strange, a mixture of pain and pleasure, a sound that you never thought you could make until now.
“Pay attention.” This made you fumble and fall into a crouch position, embarrassed at the noise but also at the fact you got hard. You were fucking hard over the fact this hunk of a man just hit your ass with the wooden baton you both had been using for weeks on end to spar with, what you’d both been using mere moments before. Crouching like that for a few moments, Alhaitham got worried that he had hit you a little too hard.
“Can you stand?” He offered a hand to you, looking down in a somewhat apologetic way. Composing yourself before you looked up, you smile and took his hand.
“I’m gonna go for a bathroom break, so… I’ll be back!” Excusing yourself, you ran in a pathetic attempt to seem casual, but you probably just looked desperate to get away from the moment. You found yourself a secluded area, looking around before pulling your pants down all the way to your ankles, not wasting time to get to work to get rid of your current predicament. There’s no way you could continue like this, so maybe rubbing one out before going back would work, right?
Wrong. Once didn’t work, and you cursed at the fact little you was still standing proud. You thought of everything to kill it, anything and everything disgusting, but it just wasn’t working with the way your mind would wander back into the gutter, your ass stinging almost too nicely and Alhaitham would be right there in your mind. He might’ve been wondering where you were, you were taking too long and you couldn’t take much longer. Either you grin and bear it, or you make out that you didn’t feel great and end the session early today. The second option seemed a little more plausible. You tried to hide it in the waistband of your pants, trying to hide the fact and not really enjoying the thought of having a far too obvious bulge if it were positioned any other way.
Walking back, he had turned to you when you emerged from around a tree, and he was already ready to get back into the mojo of fighting. Lifting the baton into a fighting stance to continue where you left off. You waved him off, briefly asking to pick this back up tomorrow as you didn’t feel well. He didn’t buy it. You were practically fine a few moments before you went for a “bathroom break”.
“I don’t believe you. What’s up? You’ve been out of it lately, staring a little longer than normal… And don’t play dumb because you know for a fact I’m not stupid.” When you shifted uncomfortably and didn’t answer him, he came closer to you and the back of his hand made its way to your forehead.
“You don’t really have a temperature…” You flinch away, but he catches you and pulls you in closer to his face.
“Are you going to tell me or am I going to have to force it out of you?” That sure does sound nice, but you grit your teeth, and an almost comical gulp following after. You were chanting in your head for him to not get any closer, moving your hips away from him and then the rest of your body. But he wasn’t having it. He brought you in real close, but it was his turn to flinch this time. Not a word was said between you, and he was purely looking for a reaction from yourself until he decided to drag you off somewhere. Hand tightly gripped around yours, picking up both of your stuff with the other and marching forward.
“Wait… Where−”
“Kaveh won’t be home for a few days, he’s on an expedition.” Whether or not his roommate was home was not your main issue here, it was the fact he knew that you’d gotten hard and now he was dragging you to his house! You questioned why you were going to his house, but he didn’t answer, just gripping your hand tighter and almost hauling you off of your feet. Not being entirely sure where this would head, you weren’t exactly sure what was going on in his mind, but surely it was a good thing he was taking you elsewhere. Right? He didn’t want you doing more public indecency… right? Surely he wanted to save you the embarrassment of sporting a chub… But it was another thought that was wrong.
He only took a few minutes to ask for your consent, which you too willingly agreed to, before slamming you against the door you both just walked into to his house, pulling down your pants, and watching as your cock pinged back against you. This was worse than growing hard in an area not far from his house, it was embarrassing. Almost. He touched the tip with his calloused fingers, not missing the slight whimper you made from finally having him touch you, something you thought about many times before. It clearly gave him a confidence boost at that. Going further, he slid his hand down, using his forefinger and thumb to squeeze lightly at the base before bringing it back up. Leaning down into your ear, you almost felt the smile on his lips.
“Was this because of me slamming my baton at you earlier? Are you into that?”
“No! Maybe? I− I’m not sure… Fuck.”
“Is this why you’ve been staring at me? If that was enough to get you going, then maybe I should’ve done it sooner.”
“What?” He picked up the pace of his hand, and the feeling of someone else doing this for you, especially it being him, was sending you over the edge. But he stopped, lifting his hand away. You groan at the loss of touch, being so close only to have that be snatched from you.
“Let’s move this to the bedroom.” Dragging you yet again but this time to his bedroom, he shut the door behind him and practically stalked you to the bed. Pinning you to the mattress, it’s like he’s testing the waters this time that you’re 100% okay with this. So, you peck him on the lips. It was quick, not sweet at all, but more of a confidence thing to help him just do whatever he wanted with you.
“We’re not going the whole way today… Maybe next time.” He stripped you, touching you everywhere he could, whether that was smoothing his hands over your skin or grabbing and pinching. It was his turn to stare, watching your every reaction like a hawk like you had once done during training, and he didn’t miss the way you’d inhale sharply when he smoothed his thumb over one of your nipples or when his hand got dangerously close to your cock again. You’d shiver and twitch in excitement, and his stare was almost menacing at times. He finally removed his own shirt, unbuckling his pants before searching for the lotion he had in his little bedside table. Pulling it out as well as his own cock, he lathers it up and turns you over.
“Squeeze your thighs together.” You do as he says, squeezing them together and keeping your backside up towards him.
“Like this?”
“Yeah, like that.” As soon as he said that you felt him pushing between your thighs, and you felt embarrassed again because of the position. You looked to where he was pushing through, gulping when his was entirely different, bigger, in size. No wonder you guys weren’t going all the way. It felt extremely hot, and it was throbbing between your thighs. What was even better was the fact that you got to feel his thighs on the back of your own, and you were sure anyone would kill to be in your position right now. He bent over, whispering into your ear that he was going to move, and asked if you could help a little with your hands. You held both loosely, and he started moving his hips. This felt way hotter, sexier, than actual sex, seeing how his cock would nearly disappear only to reappear and rubbing against your own.
He picked up the pace after a while, and you couldn’t keep yourself up on all fours for much longer, collapsing onto one of your shoulders and one arm breaking your fall. Taking the opportunity, he held onto your hips in a tight grip, slamming himself into you. It was embarrassing how much precum was leaking from your tip, mixing in with the lotion Alhaitham used to make this smooth enough to do. What you weren’t expecting was to strike your ass again, the similar sting you felt earlier coming back, and you flexed your thighs in response.
“You definitely like that.”
“Shut up…” He did it again, not missing the pure guttural moan that came from you from it. He smirked to himself, gripping one of your ass cheeks and rubbing it. Noticing how noisy you were getting, trying to muffle yourself with his pillow, he bends over again to kiss along your shoulder blades. Nipping and licking as he went. Using a hand to pull you back up to all fours, he kisses your cheek and you turn your head to him, letting him devour your mouth entirely.
Messy, saliva slipping out from your lips and your tongues dancing like you were starved of this type of touch. He drinks all of your moans, before pulling away to flip you over onto your back again, spreading your legs wide so he could see everything. Taking over from your loose hand, he jerks the both of you off at the same time, watching as your face contorts as you cum all over your stomach. He followed shortly after, it going across your stomach and chest. Slumping forward slightly, he looked at you through lidded eyes, and you lifted your hand to card your fingers through his hair. He leans further down, kissing much more gently, lips brushing lightly. You brought him closer, rolling him over so that he’d be lying beside you. He picked up the shirt he threw to the side, using it as a towel for the meantime to clean your stomach and chest up.
“I really like you.” He stops in his tracks, looking at you before breathing a heavy sigh and smiling.
“I know you do; you weren’t subtle at all during training.”
“So no ‘I like you too’?”
“Of course, I really like you too.”

Some Thoughts (Mostly ZP, but still)…
—I’ve kinda hopped back onto the Zula Patrol train again since writing Turnabout, but I am planning on doing art and stories for other fandoms, too, of course ^^ I actually worked on chapter 4 of DCR and some more of Love Language for the first time in a month! Which is amazing progress since I had both writer’s block and worries that maybe a lot of folks aren’t interested in the story. But even if that were true, it’s not going to stop me from posting stories, especially about my favorite childhood show ^^
—I went a bit in depth about an OC who gets some focus in both DCR and a few other entries, Firestorm, who’s a military commander in one of the other Zulean branches (I’ll detail my own headcanons on the structure of the Zulean government in another headcanons post) and is one of the few people that Bula gets along with outside of his team because like him, she doesn’t tolerate the BS/corruption that goes on in the government. And somehow, I got the idea that in an alternate universe, they end up as a couple. It has me cracking up because now, I have three potential love interests for Bula: Zeeter (with whom I can see happening even in canon), Bonnie (my old OC whom I’ve revamped and even have a solo story for), and now Firestorm (who might get teased in the future). Bula’s literally building his own harem, LOL XD
—And then it got me thinking that if Bula’s a typical “clueless harem protagonist” (although unlike them, he makes himself useful and isn’t admired due to some random skill he has out of nowhere), Ricochet would be the “smug harem protagonist with a heart of gold” in that he dated Denise, Diane, Melissa, and many other women before he settled down. Also, in a few AUs, he does have a better relationship with Serena, Denise’s outlaw sister, and their relationship borders on UST. Silly thoughts are silly, LOL
—I’ve also had an idea regarding the Third Sight ability. Originally, this ability has no offensive capability in any field whatsoever. But then I had a thought: what if there was a way, theoretically, that a user could hurt/even kill someone with their mind? It came about from a thought that DS! Elfilis (with whom Multo interacts with in my latest crossover) could totally do this easily, since he’s basically seen as a god (although he’s mortal) and he’s a lot more powerful/experienced with his psychic powers. Not to mention that between him and Multo, his cruel streak is not only bigger, but also more terrifying. It got me thinking that the Zuleans who have the Third Sight can do this same thing, namely in a moment of pure distress/fury, stemming from the desire to make the perpetrator feel every ounce of pain they felt at watching their loved one get hurt/killed. The name for this attack is called “Flashpoint” (or at least, it’s a working idea for a name). I had the idea that Multo accidentally stumbles across this ability after someone got the great (read: stupid) idea to hurt Zeeter or any of the others in front of him, and unable to physically defend them (due to being trapped), he’s filled with both horror at his loved ones being hurt, and pure rage at the perp, wanting nothing but for him to feel that same pain and worse. Cue that happening to the perp, with the guy literally losing his mind. With Multo being the kind of person he is, he’s shocked/horrified that he can do such a thing. One of the villains in my current WIP, Nova, takes an interest in Multo after finding out about him using this.
—And now, a part of me wants to do an alternative version of Multo that’s evil. That would be pretty terrifying. O.O
—Oh, I’m also thinking of getting back to The Return of the Phantom Empire soon, thanks to working on Firestorm’s profile. Just trying to work on the general plot of the side story, which focuses on Quick Draw McGraw, and possibly Quack-Up, namely in regards to the trauma he suffered before he joined the Galactic Guardians. This chapter isn’t gonna be quite as long as the first three chapters, but that might change, lol XD

CHICON 2007 - Enhanced Edition of Jared's Solo Panel - *COMPLETE* Video! (Repost)
youtube
Direct link.
This is the full video of Jared's panel at the Chicago 2007 convention. Jensen shows up at the end of the video with a small surprise for Jared.
There are some funny moments here! There's also one part where I didn't agree with what the fan at the mic said at all, but I included a brief episode clip so you can decide for yourselves. I'd love to hear what you think about that part or about any other part. I welcome private messages if you prefer that.
“I’ve seen this before – WHY are you posting it again?! STTTTOOOOPPPPPP!!”
Please forgive me if you already saw this last week. I will not repost it again. I was an idiot and used the same thumbnail on both the sample video and the full video, and then reblogs of the earlier sample video took off unexpectedly around the time I posted the full video. I think some people didn't realize the full video was a new one because it looked the same. I’ve now changed the thumbnail, but you might still see the old one if it's cached in your browser, so it might be too little too late. I reblogged my original post once, but reblogs don’t show up in the tags and my blog doesn't have much visibility by itself and Friday night probably wasn't the best time to do it. I think something like two people saw my reblog, but I very much appreciate you! :)
Normally I'd have just assumed people are less interested in Jared’s video for whatever reason and I’d have been disappointed, but I would have moved on because people like what they like and beating them over the head with something they don't like will only make it more annoying. The reason I had trouble letting this go is because Jared’s sample video got twice as many views as Jensen’s sample did, but Jared's full video only got a quarter as many views as Jensen’s full video. So I feel like the interest is there, but I screwed it up. And as silly as it must sound, I’m feeling horribly guilty that Jared’s video might not have gotten as much attention as he deserves because of my bad choices.
(If this project doesn't interest you and you'd rather not see these posts, I’m including “enhanced edition con video” in the tags for each post, so you could filter that out if you’d like.)
What's Next?
I do have the main J2 panel nearly done and I plan to post the full video next week. I decided not to post a sample of it ahead of time, for fear of recreating the same issue I was just lamenting. I really liked the idea of posting samples, but I’m afraid it’s just too confusing and does more harm than good. I'm definitely open to suggestions, though.
Some background if you haven't seen these posts before:
I'm slowly making "enhanced edition" videos of old con videos. You can find much more detail about this project along with an index of other released videos in this post. The project is still young, but there are now 3 full-length videos available.
The source videos are not my own; credit and links are in the video descriptions. I'm editing multiple videos from the same panel together into a single video. I'm upscaling the video quality as best I can, with varying levels of success. I'm adding extra content to add clarity about the things they discuss. I'm adding good, color-coded English subtitles to help with understanding the sometimes chaotic audio.

Hello! Reading your comment about Gr@mmys, I thought of something that makes my head spin.
Was it what happened with J!m!n and F@CE that got us out of the OT7 utopia “seven exact and equal slices of the pie” for each member? I expected to see differences, problems or competitions during this stage but I feel that F@CE was a before and after, at least for me. Now, I could yell at my "me" from the last concert in Bus@n, how naive and overly positive I was being.
I understand the factors that made this reality. I don't know the internal agreements between them and their company. For me Jungk00k's debut only shed more light on topic (he's not the villain of the story, blaming him is just easy way out) Family = seven = equal. Wasn't that the driven narrative? From my place I see how the members go out of their way to demonstrate healthy competition among themselves but the label does not accompany them with their actions/decisions. Actions that make me see company as inexperienced. Did they really have no way to avoid these conflicts? Shouldn't they take care of every detail of career of the artists they represent?
This has nothing to do with the decisions of each member. Some armys force too much -members decide everything- speech and frankly to me it feels like a re-victimization and the removal of responsibility from their representatives. Even if we look at this as a team it seems like someone isn't doing their part. May I disagree? I'm a different person. If everyone says that BH is a great company, I will tell them that it should be even better. The company where my father works has often not fulfilled its duties as an employer, but he will tell you that it's the best job, and I proceed to respect it. Just like that i feel
Whose responsibility is it really that everything has gotten to this point? From company and its silences, from fandom that allowed solo stans to grow, from everyone? Is it just the natural course of things?
There is something in this chapter that gives me the feeling of improvisation. Or was I just too used to everything being calculated and perfect in the B/T/S world?
If you had to give a prognosis for the next chapter, what would it be?
***
“Family = seven = equal. Wasn't that the driven narrative?”
No, actually.
Listen, I hear you and I get you completely. OT7 literally means love the members equally right? And that’s the agenda the company has been pushing and should show right? Well, not exactly. What I’m about to say is going to be very unpopular, but it’s genuinely what I think.
People have a very narrow idea of how many things can look, and when they run up against a reality that looks very different from how they expected it, many people don’t know how to deal with that very well. And oftentimes what happens is that they turn to vilifying whoever they think is responsible for preventing them from getting that imagined outcome. It never once crosses their minds that maybe they had the wrong assumptions to begin with. It’s always the thought of maybe someone is gaslighting them, rather than, you know, maybe they were just wrong. For that context and for that group’s actual goals.
There’s one post I wrote a long time ago that I think made me fairly popular with Jimin biases here, it’s the one where I talk about some of the ways Jimin contributed to BTS that might not seem obvious at first. I prefaced that post by saying many in the fandom underestimate Jimin not because they dislike him or anything, but because they have a narrow idea of what ‘meaningful contribution’ looks like for a group like BTS. All I did in that post was point out things that perhaps were not framed in the right way to show how much Jimin contributes to BTS that’s more than songwriting, producing, or others. It’s the same thinking in recognizing that while SeokJin isn’t the strongest dancer or vocalist, he’s served as the stable emotional support in the group, he serves as the key hinge in maintaining the uniformity in their choreography, and that without him in the group, the members would certainly clash very destructively. It’s not ‘equal contribution’ in the way a lot of people envision, but I think it’s perfect for BTS.
Granted all I’ve said so far is in terms of contributions, not rewards which is what you’re talking about. You’re saying the company should facilitate things so that each member is meant to get equal rewards each time. Well, that would be dandy and possible for the company. Maybe. But it’s also not weird, bad, nor does is spell sabotage for a company to allocate different resources and use different strategies after consulting with the members for their direct input, and to pursue asymmetrical results for BTS at certain times. The understanding is each member prioritized will vary in different years and eras. And I’m personally looking forward to all of it. Since July 2022, all the members have put forward a good first step with their debuts. Jungkook is the member getting a solid push now and I love that it’s him. I’m secretly hoping he tours a bit too, maybe solo or with vmin, and maybe/not go to the military before 2025. Who knows?
A lot of things didn’t work right for all the members' debuts. Jimin’s performance was impacted by far too many though, and many were issues the company simply needs to get their shit together on. Period. BTS makes a shit tonne of money for that company and the least they could do is go the extra mile and then some. I’m convinced HYBE already does this for BTS (recall how HYBE navigated extracting BTS from that Jamboree concert disaster, though public opinion was also on their side), but they could always do more. And I won’t stop anyone from saying that.
But for anyone who thinks what they’ve seen so far is Jungkook / BTS / HYBE betraying their trust or going back on their principles or whatever, I want to say that they’ve done no such thing. This time around your bias wasn’t prioritized the way you wanted. That’s it. Am I being naive and delusional by thinking the guys are literally taking turns for this kind of focus? Possibly. But I also know there’s a Pharrell collab somewhere in the vault. Rina Sawayama too (her Le Sserafim remix is really good. Please listen to it). And that the guys have very grand plans. All of them. They’re focused and driven and will always get what they ultimately want. Every member is like this. They've put too much skin in the game to walk away for less.
Or lol, maybe I'm just being a company stan. I just hope it's clear I'm not dismissing your concern or care for Jimin, Anon, it's that I disagree with your conclusion. But I know I'm in the minority here anyway.
“Whose responsibility is it really that everything has gotten to this point? “
The fandom, mostly. For reasons that are very obvious. Such as most of the fandom claiming they actually like the whole group and trust their bias, but rather kinda see the other members as background characters for their bias. Fandom is like a pressure cooker, so nobody ever really stays 'normal' if they move too far off-center - people who heavily biases a member in an unhealthy way will never remain an ARMY, for example, they’ll eventually break off into fringe parts; people who dislike a member, only grow to further hate the member. Neutral is rare.
If BigHit wanted to make another try for a Grammy this year, Seven would’ve likely been envisioned with all the members as a project to pursue, because a win for any of them is considered a win for the group. Especially considering the competition this year. And given BH already had a formula with the PET, they went with that same mediocre candy floss of a song that’s guaranteed to get the nomination chances, as in the past. Experience has taught the company Korean tracks will likely not be given fair consideration soon. So they went with Seven. Also, after that Billboard hit piece, Jimin’s chances with Like Crazy are close to zilch. If by some miracle he gets recognition, I hope he wins. But yeah, that debacle with Jimin is one in which the fandom (meaning his akgaes, biases, and the wider/whole fandom) bears some blame. But at the same time, Billboard has never been a friend to BTS and they were likely going to change the rules again anyway. And that’s something they can keep doing.
"If you had to give a prognosis for the next chapter, what would it be?"
I have no real idea, tbh. What I want more than anything, is for all seven of them to be able to continue putting out dope, interesting music that they take joy in. Seeing Bangtan have fun has extended my life by several years I'm sure. That's what I want for them in the prognosis. I'm sorry I'm taking your ask about a serious topic and going all sentimental on it Anon, but rather than chart placements that they don't really need to prove, I want BTS to still be comfortable making the music they want to make. More Arson, Dis-ease, All Day, Change Pt 2, Snooze, HUH?!, Amygdala, Like Crazy, SMF Pt 2, Rainy Days, Seven, The Astronaut.
I hope the people who remain in the fandom core are able to last and tough it out while the fandom regroups. Because even though there'll be chaos and the number of solos will likely triple, they won't ever leave. Nobody who comes in contact with BTS ever really moves on from them. They'll say they're taking breaks, calling it quits or whatever, but give them 6 months tops and they're back. I see it happen all the time. And it makes sense tbh. I mean, have you seen Jimin? After knowing someone like him exists, how can you just go back to your regular life pretending he's not real? Like his existence doesn't mandate you looking at him and caring for him and his art. At least, that's how Jimin makes me feel. And the other members to varying degrees.
If we disagree please don't send me follow-up asks on this topic. It likely won't be productive.

So...
Tumblr media
I still haven't watched The Mighty Movie, but a friend of mine did go and see it last night. She was kind enough to answer some questions I had, and of course, I asked about Marshall (and a few other things).
I wanted to list off what I heard. I won't go into great detail because I want to keep this post short this time. However, there will be spoilers, so if you wish to avoid them, don't click "Keep reading". Otherwise...
===============
...this is what my friend had to say.
Marshall still didn't get his pre-mission wipeout. Gee, why am I not surprised?
He got one moment of clumsiness. That scene in the preview where Chase startles him? Yup... that's all we get. Seriously??
On the plus side, Marshall did at least get plenty of use during missions/situations. Apparently, he got to solo one, and it was pretty big? She didn't give me many details about it though.
If you were hoping for Marshall to share in some of the comedic moments... nope! Rubble got most of them again. At least he got to say his "I'm good" line? But Rubble said it, too.
Some people were worried that Rocky wouldn't get much because the trailers didn't feature him much. Apparently, out of all the pups, he did get the short end of the stick after all.
Chase didn't get as much as you'd expect, either. Better than what Marshall got, but apparently not by too much.
Zuma fans might be happy though? I heard from someone else that it "takes a while" for his moments to start, however.
This film is unmistakably Skye and Liberty's movie (more the former than the latter, of course). I was told what her backstory entails, but I'll keep my thoughts about that one to myself for now.
I don't know... I find myself much less interested in the film now, especially after hearing that Marshall still didn't get his wipeout or any additional clumsy moments that we didn't already know about. While I'm glad he got a solo mission, and I'm certainly curious to find out what that's all about, I must admit, I was hoping for him to get more than just a thrilling action scene or two. Perhaps it was foolish of me to go looking for something like that in a film about Skye...
In any case, I've decided I'm going to sit this one out after all. I'll catch it later on Paramount+ in a few months, or I'll check out some highlights on Youtube.

Nintendo-vember Level 4 (Part 2): Because this one had way too many pictures to make a point...
Continuation of the following post
Okay, so in addition to Dobson's own Link not really looking very familiar to the actual Nnintendo designs, I also decided to do the following. Getting a bit into hair sperging, I pulled out this little chart for hair color.
Tumblr media
Now, to compare it with the Link designs predominant before OoT came out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we got Link from the first Zelda being somewhere between light blond and blond, Zelda 2 Link being dark blond and SNES and Gameboy era Link (who are the same and as such the favorite incarnation of Link gamewise according to Dobson) at Light Blond.
Where could dark brown haired Link come from?
Tumblr media
Oh, right! The Douchebag of Time.
It is just weird to me, that the hair color is something Dobson has taken such a grief with when it comes to Link. Cause in all honesty, I am not certain how such a minor design detail can affect ones enjoyment of the Zelda games that much. Anyway, to the last point
?????
Yeah okay, I admit I am not quite certain what the last panel is even supposed to be about. I think Dobson wants to criticize the fact that now multiple Links exist, instead of the Legend of Zelda series being kinda like Mario. You know, one character all the time fighting the same villain over and over, instead of there being different incarnation of the character (and others such as Zelda and Ganondorf). I should admit, that aside of the OoT/Majora’s Mask Link, I kinda assumed actually till the release of Four Swords/Wind Waker, that the Game Boy and the SNES games followed only one Link. Which even nowadays in the branched timeline continuity they still do
Which btw proves my point from earlier, that it was only post OoT the execs kinda screwed the timeline up in such a manner, we would need the TVA to fix it. Anyway, till Four Swords came out, I thought Link was really just going to be the same hero in all games, just with a different design each depending on whatever console’s technical abilities. Then the multiple incarnatins and timeline thing became the norm and… well, I don’t get what is bad about multiple Links or making it that the games are kinda their own thing/continuity in a certain manner.
For example, I can still play Wind Waker also as something of a solo game if I take the backstory of how Hyrule ended up under the sea just as a backstory on its own, instead of thinking about its context in a bigger narrative. Plus it allows programmers and people in the story development department to kinda go crazy/creative with designs for characters and locations, because they aren’t “bond” to capture the style of a previous game to the point that even slight variations would feel out of place. Like imagine doing Breath of the Wild style Ritos in Wind Waker or adapting the 2D Zelda environment of A Link to the Past without much variety into 3D. Plus I think that if we only followed one Link time and time again, his adventures would pretty much become less special over time, because him fighting Ganon then becomes more of an average Tuesday chore.
So…That was Dobson’s comic venting about what he hates about OoT. And I have to say, a lot of these complains (as I tried to explain here) are arbitrary as hell to me. Dobson essentially complaind about aesthetical choices the game made, that all things considered were kinda necessary for this franchise to make the jump not only into the 3D era of gaming, but also in the storydriven era of gaming itself.
See, I like the Zelda series, but as a fantasy series up to this point, I wouldn’t really call it the most “challenging” game storywise. Defeat an evil pig demon, save the princess, explore dungeons. That was it and kinda is still the base line appeal of those games. But even just compared to some stories we got by comparison for example on the SNES (Breath of the Wild 2, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6) Zelda was not really that deep. This game may not have even been the first Zelda game with a bit more “depth” to it (Link’s Awakening was that for me with the island being revealed to cease exisisting once the Widfish awoke), but it certainly was one that fleshed the world of Hyrule out a lot and in doing so introduced multiple technical, story relevant and aesthetical aspects to the franchise, that went beyond what A Link to the Past already had done in 1991. And that game in my opinion, while great, mostly just improved on the aesthetical aspects by assuring the game looked better in 16-bits than anything on the 8-bit NES.
To be fair though, I may also just be a bit biased here, because Ocarina of Time was an important game in my childhood I have very fond memories of. Both in context of the game, but also outside of it. But considering I am not the only one who likes it, I think it is safe to say that it is a good game. Is it the best Zelda game ever? Well, we have Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom now, so likely no. But it is certainly within the top four Zelda games and will likely stay there even the next few decades. And acting like it is total shit and its fans are “lesser” being for enjoying it, is not just contrarian, it is outright insulting. So in that regard: Fuck you Andy. May Octorocks ejaculate upon you, while the rest of the world finds enjoyment in that game.
And on that note... Happy anniversary to the Ocarina of Time. The best wishes from me for Impa, Ruto, Darunia, the Twinorvas, Ganondorf, Epona, Sheik, Zelda, Link, Navi, Sarina and all the other characters and the people behind Ocarina of Time for giving us one of the best games on the N64 and within one of the most beloved Nintendo game series ever.
May your melody be heard for 25 more years at least.

Heya! Responding to the "reblog if you want people to ask you things" post: what's your favourite piece of headcanon (Sonic-related or otherwise) that you'll hold onto no matter what?
Still figuring out the new hellsite after migrating from a couple of the old ones. Glad to see you're still around!
Yodel! And thanks for the peep~
I've...honestly never been asked something like that before, or if I have, it's been a long long while lol. Let's see... favorite Sonic headcanon at this moment in time-
I like the idea that the world is generally at a point of relatively "world peace" that Eggman is literally the greatest threat to it.
Not that the writing has to be that deep, and sure spice can be added where one wants, but the amount of control and power this one guy has is kinda crazy.
Granted, I'm not too knowledgeable with the stories across other media beyond the games and maybe a few cartoon series. So for the sake of things, keeping the scale based around what I'm aware of in-game. He has access to SO MANY resources, or better yet, can recycle and extract even in the most minute details, and likely owns or has owned or controls several companies / areas of land / cities etc. It's not the complete control that he wants, but more than anyone on that planet likely will ever have access to at such a scale.
And yet...the (human) population as a whole is just "ok" with it? Or at least docile enough to not feel affected by him, until things go awry and suddenly they're involved and panic in a fright, if civilians. It's not to say that this world doesn't have conflicts we wouldn't be familiar with, else why would something like G.U.N. exist otherwise? Something that existed long before Eggman, Sonic and likely anyone of the current living and existing cast members, save for the likes of Chip, Chaos, Emerl, etc.
Chances are there's potentially other organizations just like it too, but they all leave him alone because they know they're simply outclassed by this one solo guy. This mad man who can make an entire space fleet and surround the world at his leisure, crack open the world and create amusement parks in his visage multiple times, while still discovering new forms of power and working to force his hand on them. THEN in the next breath just going- "Eyo, Imma televise a family friendly competition, watch/stream, buy my stuff and join the fun." beyond the usual bait to get Sonic and friends to pay attention.
Otherwise, people are just kind of living simple lives, probably rolling their eyes every time Eggman announces something until, "ah crap it got loose, fuck... I'm calling out sick tomorrow". Otherwise, people are just kind of living simple lives, probably rolling their eyes every time Eggman announces something until, "ah crap it got loose, fuck... I'm calling out sick tomorrow". It's a very "The City of Townsville" kinda vibe, but on a world scale. And everything that isn't human just catches all hell, save for the events of: - Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 - Shadow the Hedgehog - Sonic 06 - Sonic Unleashed - Sonic Chronicles
Potentially maybe even Sonic Lost World and Sonic Colors, if we're thinking about all that debris from the destroyed amusement part falling to the planet's surface. --- So uh...yeah- o < o / Thank ya for the question~

Louis Tomlinson on finding his artistic identity: “It’ll be an ever-evolving process”
The former One Direction member joined NME backstage at his own Away From Home festival in Malaga last month to discuss new music and his love of indie
Louis Tomlinson has spoken to NME about finding his artistic identity in his new music, calling it “an ever-evolving process”.
Last week (September 1), the star announced details of his second solo album ‘Faith In The Future’, which will arrive in November.
Before the new record was confirmed, Tomlinson sat down with NME backstage at his own festival, Away From Home in Malaga, last month to discuss the upcoming album and finding his feet post-One Direction.
“I had to finish the second album before I came out on tour,” he explained. “We started the tour in February and we’ve been going ever since, so I had pretty much 99 per cent of the record done then.”
‘Faith In The Future’ follows Tomlinson’s first solo effort, ‘Walls’, which arrived in 2020 – an album he says he’s still “immensely proud of”. “But it was quite hard to work out where I stood in the industry coming out of a band the size of One Direction and exactly what One Direction were,” he said. “There was an element of me going through my own development stage, but doing it in the public eye. I think where I’ve got to on this record, I feel really, really proud of, and it’s definitely songs that I think define me better as an artist.”
Tomlinson continued to explain that he had previously shied away from experimenting with sounds that might be on trend at the time, saying he had been worried about following trends too closely. “I am quite particular about that,” he said.
“I know sometimes that’s annoying to people, especially because of the first two songs I did. That really was me not necessarily listening to too many other opinions [but] because I had those two moments that I think didn’t really define me, it’s been important for me to just make my music as authentic as possible. Sometimes following trends, you lose a bit of that authenticity.”
Asked if he felt more comfortable in who he is as an artist now, the musician replied: “Yeah, definitely. That has been a process and I think it’ll be an ever-evolving process as well. But I definitely feel really comfortable about just following my heart musically and seeing where it gets me.”
The star also discussed this year’s Away From Home location, which moved the event from Crystal Palace to Malaga’s Marenostrum Fuengirola, which sits by the beach and has a castle looming over it on a neighbouring hill. “It was always the idea [to move around with it],” he explained.
“That was kind of a play with the title. We were looking at a few different venues, but from the minute I saw this venue, it just looks really, really interesting. There’s not a lot of venues that look like this. And also, I’d say three-quarters of my tour has been fucking freezing, so it’s nice to get some good weather.”

Sorry I just got into this game like 2 months ago and don’t read many switch stories . What did they do in the climax that got people upset? (Switch and other climaxes?) sorry again.
asdhkjksks don't worry, it's really mostly fandom drama! not really something you need or even want to know about
but, with varying levels of detail, this is some of the discourse i saw during the events (most of this refers to arguments that spawned in the waiting time between story updates but not all of them, ex: double face):
crazy:b : story itself wasn't bad i hear but there was quite the uproar because it wasn't written by akira, even though they said he'd write these events
ra*bits: not rly much drama here because not that many people read it but the reveal of who bishoujo-senpai is exactly made impossible many key aspects of other major ra*bits events (sweet halloween, romantic comedy) (and there aren't that many ra*bits major events that can be retconned to begin with lol)
double face: unit was disbanded
atlantis: it seemed like eichi got proposed to by yet another girl even though he was in some arranged marriage deal with tori's sister. And that he hadn't told wataru about either of those things (in the end none of this was true but those 4 days of wait between story updates were agonizing)
valkyrie: this was pretty fine fandom drama-wise ? even though it's valkyrie. EDIT: i deleted the krnz b-plot from my mind. the krnz b-plot was bad. around this time also, the kanata-centric lookback scout abyss was released and they retconned and changed some chiaki and kanata bits in meteor impact it was sad
2wink: yuuta was too mean to shinobu (they hate to see a bpd baddie so he got cancelled on twitter). but it was also a plot built on a veeeery old story so there were also odd characterizations here and there at first that also threw off the actual 2winkP
alkaloid: written by kinosei again, it was just a filler holiday event, not quite a climax so. very disappointing.
undead: complaints about The Whole Thing this was bad. im not too well versed on them so i can't go into detail but from the ai thing to the lack of focus on some members there were many problems. plus it was the first time they posted those story summaries and having an apparently mid story explained again was the final nail on the coffin
akatsuki: i didn't hear much drama about this one either ? but akatsuki have had a streak of bad characterization so maybe it was resignation
trickstar: no complaints trickstar solos
ryuseitai: jury's still out but it seems it was a kind of weird story at first so there was also some discomfort here and there. sounds like it ended nicely though
switch: natsume was ooc (tried to strangle sora and did not even apologize even though normal natsume would've been devastated + was overall way too mean)
and i think that was all??? if anyone knows abt anything else do tell me let's study fandom behavior

It's Harley Quinn's turn !!
Tumblr media
Design rant time!!! (I wrote way too much about her just a warning)
She actually has two more looks, her dating Joker era, and her post breakup era, the one shown above is her once she finds herself, so here are the other two:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harleen Quinzel's backstory is barely changed. She grew up in a shitty home and spent her time outside of school doing gymnastics, and developed an interest in psychology and psychiatry. She became a psychiatrist at Arkham and fell in love with the Joker who she helped break out of Arkham. He then forced her to take a quick swim a vat of chemicals at Ace Chemicals which bleached her skin and hair and drove her mad (although she was already a little unstable). From there she was in a codependent and somewhat abusive relationship with the Joker. After many breakups, during which she often seeked support from Ivy, they eventually broke up for good and she started her solo criminal career (although it's not very solo considering her tendency to work with Ivy or as a part of the Sirens).
As Harleen Quinzel she wore fake glasses to make herself look smarter, spoke with a different more "acceptable" accent, and maintained a calm and collected demeanour. This was all in an attempt to be taken seriously by others. (Note she is prone to unhealthy relationships, the Joker was not the first shitty relationship she had been in but thankfully was the last). After becoming Harley Quinn her personality became erratic and hyperactive, often having mood swings, and experiencing extreme emotions, but is only prone to violence if provoked. She started using her actual accent although she spoke using a higher pitched voice when with the Joker. As Harley Quinn she started wearing exaggerated makeup, dying her hair and wearing almost solely black and red. With the Joker she donned her iconic Harley Quinn costume and used an oversized mallet found at Amusement Mile (Where the Joker would often hide out). She also got some tattoos during this era. After their final breakup she let the hair dye grow out (her hair was split dyed fully black and red) and chopped off a lot of it, she began wearing a modified version of her Harlequin costume and got a new mallet (to note this outfit has wheels in the soles of the shoes). Just to mention during one of Joker and Harley's really bad breakups is when Ivy gave her the shit to make her immune to toxins and poisons.
Eventually Harley found herself donning a new outfit which is more casual, keeping her second mallet, and occasionally wearing a mask. The mask does nothing to hide her identity but when she eventually began working with the Batfam more than commuting crimes she wanted to fit in with everyone and they all wear masks. She also began dating Ivy (once again not exactly healthy but as healthy as possible). Although despite this her personality hasn't mellowed out whatsoever and if anything she's even more joyful and optimistic. After dating Ivy she got Ivy's name tattooed on her and some roses to cover up an old Joker tattoo, Ivy thinks it's stupid but Harley thinks it's a display of affection (Note Harley thinks body modification is really cool and as a result has a lot of tattoos and more then a few piercings). Also after years of using gymnastics to fight people and swinging around a fucking giant mallet she's muscular, specifically her arms, I'm just not great at drawing muscle. And somewhere in all that is shit to do with the Suicide Squad which she's a member of for a while. In Arkham her hair dye fades, she can't wear makeup, and she gets out of having handcuffs or a straight jacket because she's surprisingly compliant and doesn't cause too many problems. (Note with her Arkham outfit the shirt is cropped because she has a habit of fashioning her clothes how she wants to wear them, but also tearing off strips of fabric to braid with when bored).
Personal details, she's bi and fuck it she's trans mtf because I said so. As stated she's in a relationship with Ivy and Ivy is probably the person she's closest to (aside from her Hyenas Bud and Lou). She's friends with the Riddler and they bond over both being found really annoying by the rest of the rogues. She's also friends with Catwoman, and Penguin has a soft spot for her. She's a member of the Gotham City Siren's, occasionally helps out the Birds of Prey, and both unwillingly and willingly helps out the Batfam. Just to note as is often canon she's still incredibly smart specifically in psychology and psychiatry, and is a super talented gymnast. And that's everything, I really didn't say anything unique, she sticks pretty close to the character Harley has become over the years. Oh also obviously she's Jewish and is practicing.

Good luck with your new blog! Royce with an obsession who is the daughter of a massive corporation’s rich CEO? Bet its impossibly difficult for him to get her! But I’m curious how it can go. We need more Royce.
--------------
Creative ask! And thank you very much! I’ll try to post things whenever I can, although very slowly as some may have already noticed.
And you are right! Underneath *normal circumstances*, I believe it’d be impossible for a gang such as the Maelstrom to kidnap someone of such a tremendously high profile. But, considering how V’s adventure went down, perhaps nothing is really impossible right at this point. Counting double in the glorious world of fanfiction. Of course, I wrote it in such a way what the risks are, and how big the chance would be in the way this universe works in my eyes. I also made a little scenario in case he manages to pull part of it off.
-------------
Warning: Gun violence, mentioning of gore!
Simon “Royce” Randall
Tumblr media
All it took was the simple mention of your name in some magazine article as he surfed the net, looking for information about your father/mother's gigantic company and the latest high-end microchips and associated hardware and firmware they were about to release.
As a precaution, because he didn't quite know how intertwined you would be with corporate affairs surrounding your parent's company, he sought you out through various sources. Flawless skin, a pure smile, sparkling eyes and a youthful and innocent aura surrounded you with the surprisingly scant amount of photos he found about you, in addition to some minor details about who you approximately were like as a person…
You eventually got him hooked as heavily as a partygoer who snorted up their very first line of synthetic coke....
Getting to you directly is an impossible task for a notorious gang leader such as Royce. He doesn't have the right technology, the money, the influence, the reputation, the experience, the delicate skillset and the natural charm and social skills needed to even be able to get anywhere near you, let alone take you away underneath some pretense. Nor do any of his underlings or any of his direct contacts. He is smart and barely tactical enough to realize this, but not smart enough to spend any length of time viewing and observing the bigger picture, for he is incredibly impatient, aggressive and impulsive to the titanium synth-bone.
Still, his tough, ballsy and unpredictable nature might be the desired trait that could be his little blessing in a situation like this. Although there’s a huge chance that it could quickly become his unbreakable curse if he doesn't play his cards right. Especially because he’s about to play them in the middle of Night City, where even the air itself is under constant watch by almost every corporation out there.
Still, the very first thing he does is convincing his fellow gang members that you should be kidnapped anyway and used as a bargaining chip for large amounts of money, hardware and important information through some sort of an intermediate construct. Anyone who even thinks about questioning him about his crazy plan is eliminated almost immediately, causing the rest of the Maelstrom to automatically fall in line, not knowing that he intends to never let you go at all, especially when you somehow end up falling for the black-hearted Maelstromer in return.
Just to prepare for your kidnapping, he will cash in a lot of favors from various sources, try to get a rival corporation of yours to help him in some way and he will work his subordinates until they leak synth-blood to finance the operation itself. A little bit of extra manpower; especially a small group consisting of at least one experienced netrunner, the right corpo rat from your family’s corporation, one techie and two seasoned solos would be needed to successfully take you to him in a relatively short amount of time without leaving behind too many clues that his gang’s about to be involved in it. The ones who are not cheap at all, but whom he will drop and forget as if they are a very bad habit. As long as they get the job done without a single minor flaw, that is. He will randomly try to kill at least one of them in the most brutal fashion he can think of at the time if they do, without caring about the consequences, whatsoever.
Speaking of consequences; the chances of him successfully catching you are still very, very slim at this point. If anything, he will crash, burn and take most of the Maelstrom with him if they don't figure out soon enough what he is actually trying to do. If they do and realize what his actual plans are, then they’d love nothing more than to put him down like the murderous animal he already is that he has become when antagonized for the actual reason he’s set up this very risky, dangerous and downright psychotic operation.
If he by a wonder manages to get you, there’s still a lot that needs to be done.
First of all, your tracker would needs to be surgically removed and destroyed by a relatively skilled and trustworthy ripperdoc who isn’t too well known. A woman who he currently has at his disposal at Clean Cut clinic.
He also needs to find a way to vastly alter your biomonitor data- make you a completely different person than what’s recorded at NC’s MedCenter with an expired subscription up to boot. A person who obviously doesn’t exist in direct comparison to their records, but a creative plan of action for the time being. If it fails, he’ll just force the ripperdoc to disable, or preferably remove and/or replace it like he already planned to do with almost any other non-vital piece of [L/N]’s company chrome that may be embedded inside of your body. He wouldn’t want you to summon the Trauma Team; and even the S.W.A.T. and the [L/N] company’s private military forces to an extent, when the former realizes who it is they need to rescue from the abandoned All Foods factory after you may deliberately manage to hurt yourself somewhere in the short long run.
One wrong move from the doc though, and an accidental ping from either your biomon or your tracker’s transmitting signal to the local open network may bring in a whole different kind of hell for the Maelstrom. Of course, Royce already planned that out too, although not at all in detail because he obviously isn’t the type who’d think too far ahead about any potential possibilities. He’ll throw the entire gang to the dogs as a pathetic attempt just so that he has a bit of a smoke screen to leave Night City as soon as he can, forcefully pulling you along with him with a rough sketch of a faraway destination already in mind.
In a way, it’s remarkable how a man who’s ended up having a large part of his frontal lobe removed managed to plan, organize the mission and execute it in the way he did the second he developed a severe crush on you. Of course, he’ll never lose his highly aggressive edge and has the distinct lack of being able to self-monitor and control most of his own actions. Actions which are often brutal and bloody by nature. Of course, he isn’t the smartest tool in the shed during certain situations, either.
Ending on that note; what if he magically manages to make the first few steps of his original plan to actually work? I imagine it goes something like this;
~Short scenario~
Your father/mother ultimately had a premonition of what the city's underworld was about to do with the information that the company's private security department had eventually gathered through trusted business associates and from the streets through the use of their company's ever-present undercover agents.... Although they could not yet determine exactly which gang would be the ultimate mastermind behind the up and coming attack.
Yet, the safest place for you to be at would be within the company's highly secured penthouse at the very top of one of the mega-buildings found in Night City’s City Centre, right between Biotechnica and Arasaka tower. You had to be transported from your family's private property in the middle of North Oak by air. They decided it should happen on the hush hush, so they believed it’d be better that no other company aerodynes with an unique set of extra bodyguards should circle around yours during transport. It would catch too many unwanted attention…
Unfortunately, it happened so quickly and from such strange angles, in meat- as in cyberspace, that they barely had time to firmly increase security around your well-being and to think this plan of action through with their private advisors, nor to fully prepare for a proper counterattack as a precautionary measure.
The company's aerodyne was struck by an unexplainable malfunction during flight, practically forcing it to land somewhere in the middle of an intersection barely on the outskirts of Japantown. Your personal group of bodyguards immediately arranged for reinforcements because of this sudden change in circumstance. One that seems almost perfectly orchestrated as black cars and SUVs swiveled through the string of suburban vehicles that have long since screeched to a halt at and near the surrounding traffic lights.
Or at least, the bodyguards tried to call for reinforcements just before the high-security communications line, normally used by the company's private security, was hijacked by an outside source. Apparently, your private tracker was also turned off, and you couldn’t get it back on after you ran your systems diagnostic and repair software, the latter somehow being corrupted by a virus.
This was the moment when everyone, including yourself, knew 100% that you were all currently under attack by a party that knew exactly what they were doing.
With the special locks activated and your group’s netrunner having hacked into the local network to determine the angle of the overall attack through the cameras, your bodyguards eventually instructed you to follow two of the guys as soon as they would unlock the left door, while the rest would cover your retreat by firing back from either sides of the AV. The final destination would be the exact coordinates of a S.W.A.T. team’s armored hovercraft that would meet you somewhere halfway, and had already been summoned for your immediate extraction the second the flying AV got struck. The rest of their cavalry would also soon arrive, including a fraction of your mother/father's private company army.
Your organic heart hammered indiscriminately against your ribcage the moment you saw a bullet fly by, followed by a pained scream echoing from somewhere across the other side of the aerodyne as you were pulled along.
Plenty of people scurried from their cars the second the shoot-out started, screaming in fear instead as they did.
With a quick glance, all you could see was that the people who were attacking you most definitely didn’t belong to the selfsame group. A group that clearly is not of the ordinary sort. Still, their disguises fully prevent you from seeing who they actually are.
"Eyes forward, Miss [L/N]!"
You obediently do as told, letting yourself be guided towards one of the side streets. From afar, you already see a bunch more people scrambling away for their lives after you’d rounded the corner- obviously haven heard the loud, distinct pops of gunfire from afar.
They escort you into a narrow side street, trying to bring you round back in order to avoid any vehicles that could have been zeroing in if they’d decided to take the main sidewalk directly towards the supposed destination instead.
Alas, the enemy took this scenario into consideration as a spray of blood suddenly washes over you just as your group entered some inner court between three skyscrapers.
The bodyguard who walked in front of you slumps to the ground with a wide gape torn through his neck. You completely froze in place, eyes wide with fear and your nose instinctively crunching up at the distinct smell of warm iron.
The other who ran behind you pushes you to the side, ready to attack, only to be hit in the leg. He screams, still stands upright, and manages to take aim at one of three attackers. He shoots. As another bullet hits his selfsame leg- crippling him, his bullet pierces through the skull as they fall backwards. Dead.
Panicked, you try to help up the man, but he simply pushes away your arms. “Just go!” he screams, taking aim again.
Decided with a heavy heart, you start running back to where you came from, and look back. Another shot. This one hits the helmet of a mysterious guy who decided to rush forward with a shotgun.
A violent exhale of air escapes you, however, as your widened eyes rolled over the revealed face of one of your many attackers, showing you only a deep red set of LED optics.
Does this mean that It is the Maelstrom who is involved in your possible abduction? The most brutal and dangerous gang currently known to Night City? This is bad… Very bad…
He shoots the badly injured bodyguard in the head - and officially finishes him off, before coming after you like the devil is on his heavily modified hind legs.
Without losing another second, you run even faster and curve into one of the alleyways that directly leads towards the open road, already making a second attempt to turn on your personal tracker, but in vain. You needed admin access to turn it back on again.
It is certain now. There is a big rat lurking in your family's business. A rat that has somehow found the right software and protocols needed to remotely disable your tracker and overwrite it’s attached user access almost instantly.
With clenched teeth, you run in hopes of reaching the S.W.A.T. team that should be lurking somewhere nearby by now. But before you could round a corner, you are suddenly pulled back by the collar of your bloodied, expensive designer cardigan.
A lanky mechanical arm clamped you and both your arms against the attacker's larger body, before something was jammed into your neurosocket after being pried open, closely followed by a shard being inserted into your neuroport.
You kicked behind you, screamed and threw your head back at least once as an endless series of code and warning signs flashed before your fear-ridden eyes. The few blows you managed to land might as well mean nothing, for he was strong enough to take all your desperate hits. A man clearly jacked up by subdermal body plating and with bones long since replaced by a metallic endoskeleton.
Alas.
The world slowly turns to black after that as your body weakens by each passing second.
The last thing you could make out was the goon calling someone through a burner agent before you completely lost consciousness; “Caught ‘er, boss. We’ll be heading towards the meat processor straight up. Meet ya there halfway.”[1]
1 = I somehow stumbled on https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Agent whilst searching for something else, and came on the idea that the Cyberpunk universe must have something similar to burner phones. I also bet that the Maelstrom’s smart enough to make use of such things during their most brutal and/or risky kidnappings and hit jobs.

googling suggests that Brian Reed was the lead writer for Halo 4... what specifically about the story of H4 makes him the villain? It's been a year or so since I've played h4 so the details beyond the broad strokes have been forgotten.
that said i will agree he's the villain for halo 5 that story is Not Great TM
(i just like hearing your opinions on stuff and am totally not trying to mine ideas for what might be changed in a post halo-3 rewrite because i do love the covenant civil war aspects of 4. or the implications that there has to have been one because conflict drives narratives)
Thanks.
Full disclosure, I really don't know what was going on behind the scenes on Halo 4 or 5 and the most I can do is offer rampant speculation, usually based on my biases and very little evidence.
My impressions are these:
Halo has always always had trouble on story, mostly around having strong leadership and a definite idea of where everything is going. There are too many stakeholders with ideas and teams have struggled to get to unified ideas and then to have enough time to implement what they finalize. This was true during Bungie days and definitely feels like it's been true during 343. (I'm more confident on what I say about 1-3 because I actually have a book with a lot of old interview details that speaks to that.)
They'll build up a lot of interesting stuff around the games, even though my opinions on the quality of that stuff vary widely. I had problems with Halo 4, but the stuff that was coming out around 4 where you had multiple stories interweaving touching each others' threads... that was interesting! That was neat! And they got Greg Bear to write three whole novels for us!!! Fuck Karen Traviss, but like... dude!!!!
...And then the campaign was just. What we got. Don't get me wrong, there are things in Halo 4's campaign that are cool and interesting, but like... there will always remain a part of me that is still pissed that they killed Cortana.
Full stop.
I accept new Halo lore as it comes to me and try to do my best to take my lumps and integrate even things that I don't like, but I am still mad that they killed Cortana in the first place and have never really stopped being that.
....Anyway. I'm getting sidetracked.
Aside from CE, which was intended to be self-contained and thus is pretty straightforward and ends with a clear conclusion, Halo game plots have never really been necessarily good. That is just the nature of the beast. Halo 2 ends on a massive cliffhanger because they literally could not finish putting the whole story they wanted to in that game. Halo 3 is a mess because everyone was so violently burned out from Halo 2 that the leadership problem was even worse.
[Suspicious silence re: Reach goes here because I still can't motivate myself to replay Reach]
Halo 4 falls very flat for me with some things that were good and mostly other things that I had to make my peace with and come to be okay with. I will grouse about things, but we've Halo cycled our way around to a lot of people (including me) acknowledging that not everything about Halo 4 was horrible.
(I guess my big things that piss me off about it are: Cortana, as discussed, wasting the Didact, and the weird fucking pivot on Catherine Halsey's character.)
Anyway, Brian Reed. My comment there was kind of a flippant attempt to respond to something I wasn't sure how to feel about, but here's what I got:
Reed wasn't actually the lead writer on 4, that was Christopher Schlerf. I don't know much about either of these people! But after Schlerf left, Reed was the lead writer on 5 and did a lot of work on the comics (that I still haven't read because blah blah blah my usual excuses.)
It's hard for me to pick out what exactly I think his fingerprints are in different parts of Halo, because I don't know the guy or his work particularly well. I'm better at identifying what I think (no guarantees I'm right) was Staten back in early Halo because I've seen enough solo work from him to kind of know what I think he liked, and I've seen enough of Frank O'Connor talking about stuff in interviews to (rightly or wrongly) blame a couple specific Chief things I hate on him, but I don't have that with Reed.
However, I have read Reed's short story in the Fractures anthology. Opinions may vary on this, nobody's gotta agree with me, but I really had to pause with myself after reading Rossbach's World because... it was thoughtful?
So looking at Reed, who had to take over for another lead writer and try to come up with a following act for Halo 4... I still hate Halo 5. A lot. But like, I get it. Of course it feels like a weird pivot hail Mary to find something to focus on, because it was.
I think it was stupid and I hated it, but I do have some sympathy for the pressure on the person who ended up taking the fall for it. Anything where you are working for a highly opinionated nerd audience with tons of pressure is going to be very difficult.
I feel like they should've borne out the Forerunner story threads instead of pivoting to the Created, and maybe gotten to those ideas after the plate was clear. I also think Cortana deserved to live. (If you want to see what inspired some of my thoughts about that, you should look into Bungie's previous series: Marathon. But it has been too long since I personally dug around in Marathon for me to be terribly helpful about it anymore.)
...But I also think that Reed is just a dude who had a job and produced a story I really don't like. I've heard he's been pretty much harassed off the face of the internet? And like... nothing is worth that, man.
People with more insight and background details about what was going on actively might have more information than I do and better reasons to hate him, but I was really really checked out of Halo for the better part of a decade and I'm honestly pretty soft when it comes down to it.

Crazy how people just get blinders on. All these people throwing names and accusations at JK over, what? Two songs and an instagram post? Completely forgetting the fact that JK has been working on JJK1 for literally years. Six or seven years if I remember correctly. They forget that he's an accomplished songwriter and producer in his own merit and has written and contributed to some of the best songs BTS have ever made. Where are these accusations that he's some kind of money hungry lazy bubblegum pop barbie doll coming from? (This is a rhetorical question, I just think it's insane.) He's a perfectionist, is obviously working on his own music (judging by how he ran off to the studio at 4am after missing jimin hours) and is likely in the process of deciding all the minute details for his own debut? Did the fandom communally forget that he mentioned wanting to do a visual album in his BE interview? He's got big plans, just because he's not talking about them doesn't mean they're not happening. and god, after how absolutely weird jay park was about hobi being on his show and how shady he's been about the guys in the past, I'd take a thousand JB collabs over another interaction with him.
***
Hear hear.
I agree with you mostly, but I want to use one part of your ask to make a larger point on something else I’ve noticed for some time, on how we talk about the fandom.
“Did the fandom communally forget…”
We all do this when talking about the fandom/ARMY, but something I want to point out is often times, in these sorts of situations, it’s not the same groups of people within the fandom who are doing these things. It’s not the same people who view JK the way you do, who are complaining about a (potential) JB collab. The fandom is just so big that whenever a certain faction decides to be loud, or if you’re in a space that interacts frequently with that faction of the fandom, it will seem like it’s most ARMYs having that view when it’s far from reality. And this is why the sub-labels within the fandom are useful so we can distinguish who is saying what, to avoid needless confusion. The sub-labels being: solo stans, diet solo stans, shippers, multis, mantis, OT7 ARMYs, etc.
That the knee jerk reaction to one studio pic is assuming JK is mindlessly playing fiddle for ‘payola boy’ because JK wants to chart easily and because Bang PD is everyone’s favourite Disney villain, is the first dead giveaway this reaction is coming from someone who doesn’t keep up with JK besides through their pre-conceived notions, or someone who views him and his work in direct competition with the other members. There’s been an outbreak of diet solo stans and mantis in the fandom in Chapter 2 but they still don’t make up most of the fandom.
I suspect some people are feeling sensitive, a bit pissed off and frustrated with BB’s rule change and how that impacts Jimin’s solo accolades, and so those who feel JK’s in competition with JM, catastrophized one picture of JK actively working on a solo project with a producer to mean a JB collab that could threaten the hard-won records for Jimin. Most of the people who tend to think like this, are solo stans, mantis, and their diet versions within ARMY.
For most everyone else in the fandom and especially with OT7 ARMYs, there’s the understanding that any BTS member doing well is a good thing, that the fandom generally works to aid them all in doing well, and that every BTS member is already doing well. Sometimes some members will perform better on the charts, but that’s normal and expected. FACE won’t be Jimin’s only solo project in 2023, and Jungkook has been making songs for years, meaning there’ll be several more opportunities for ARMYs to support both their projects better.
I understand it’s easier to generalize the fandom when speaking casually and generally, I do the same thing too. But I think it’s worth remembering all the different players in the fandom, how many have conflicting interests, and that many times if you see contradictory responses coming from the fandom, it’s simply not the same groups of people flip-flopping, changing their tune, or otherwise kicking up a stink. Anyone looking from the outside in could make that mistake in assuming it’s the same groups of people, but those of us within the fandom could improve the conversation by identifying who exactly are driving these narratives when we discuss them.

VINCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, LAST SENTENCE!!! Share the last sentence you wrote, I know your Google Docs is open, share it!!!
Hi Luci. Nice to see you here so... enthusiastic.
You know what we're working on, I'm playing Shen Wei for "Seawater is tears shed in the shores" in his solo/introspective scenes and adding details to his parts in the scenes Hyde wrote alone. Today I got to work in a shared character (both me and Hyde are writing him now), Xiao Hua. So, my last sentence, it's from him, to Wu Xie:
“That's why we don't treat love like business - as long as someone still knows what love is worth, that someone has not yet lost their soul.”
Since this fic started as a short-story with 3 main characters and a simpler Angst Plot, it's a surprise the proportions it took in less than a week and how Xiao Hua is getting the spotlight there too, yet the conflict is not about him, I'd say he's a late main character.
Facts that may be interesting for you: -After I read the first scenes of this fic, I jumped into writing Shen Wei's pov without permission and added in between lines some headcanons I have as analyst. Hyde liked it and now I'm a co-author by accident, but this made my days off so much better -Xiao Hua's pov changed the whole pace of this work, so you will know that once he's in scene, things won't go as you could be expecting in the first parts of the fic -Arjun's portrayal of Lin Jing is flawless, he begins as the more in-canon character, even the narration he and Hyde made for the LJ & ZYL scene looks like you were reading a scene in Guardian Novel. Needless to say I laughed, despite all the previous and later Angst. The scene develops for a more real-monk thing, as we enjoy. We had no plans to bring Lin Jing to this story, but here he is and he also changed the pace. -This work was created because of your request for the Frailties and Nuances series, in the song Run, by Rhodes, that I posted here a while ago. The most prominent setting in this work is a similar place to the one in the music video. That said: this fic has full soundtrack (thanks to your help) and the playlist will be linked, and this fic has art; I don't know how many, Hyde sketched a few, finished a painting, and by the time we get the writing done, I don't know how many more artworks we'll have, but there's potential for an illustrated fic. -Tazzy is working as the photographer, choosing scenes and locations to inspire the sets and art. Two of the photos totally captured me and because of that, Shen Wei, who didn't have any scenes in that setting, now does. (Thank you @tazzy-ace ) -None of us know the end of the story, although it seems predictable for being part of that specific series. -For Humor or Angst, Da Qing raised ZYL nonetheless
