Anytime I get a new deck, the first thing I do is clear the cards, shuffle them well, and then pull one randomly. This gives me a chance to assess how I feel about the deck, and how it relates to me. First impressions are important. When I first got this beautiful #rootsandwingsoracledeck (which I have come to LOVE), this was the first card I pulled - #PASSAGE. • I shuffled again, even more thoroughly, and pulled another random card. Again - Passage. Seems clear enough, right? • Even so, later that night, I shuffled yet again, pulled a card. Again - Passage. Three times, in a row, same card out of 63. Since then, I've pulled the card many, many times. • Tonight I asked, "What does the world need most right now." One card, this card - Passage. • "May come after a loss, this is the transition period. You may still feel darkness from having to let go of something you love, but there is a promise of Hope and Light." • For me, it signified my loss of my husband. It said to me that he was close, and that was still appropriate and ok to grieve. Now, collectively, it signals the same but on a grander scale, plus so much more . . . • We're in the midst of a powerful transition period. So much has been lost, so much grief as illusions and shadows are brought out. It's getting harder and harder to keep the blinders on. Harder and harder to deny the world has changed, will change, and we must change with it. Spirit has, many times, given me the image of a boat on stormy, wild, white-capped seas. An image of holding on tightly to the rigging. The rainbow comes as the storm starts to let up, the sun starting to shine back through. Rainbows - magic, hope, but also balance. Keeping our bodies, our energetic fields, in working order. Stars are often used to represent our ancestors, so knowing, feeling, that we're supported on many levels, in many ways, in realms seen and unseen.
