November 3rd is the Feast Day of Saint Winifred. Welsh noblewoman, Martyr for chastity who was resurrected from the dead, nun, Abbess of Gwytherin Abbey, pilgrim to Rome. She is patroness of Wales and against unwanted romantic or sexual advances
Saint Winifred was born to the chieftain of Tegeingl Tyfid ap Eiludd and his wife Wenlo. Wenlo was a niece of Saint Bono and their family was closely related to the kings of South Wales. Saint Winifred was being courted by a man named Caradog and she decided before they were engaged that she didn't want to be married she wanted to be a nun and Caradog didn't like that so he tried to get her to have sex with him so she couldn't be a nun.
She refused his advances for the sake of her chastity as a virgin and the enraged villain Caradog used his sword to cut off Saint Winifred's head. She of course died but her great uncle Saint Bono happened to walk by. Saint Bono was so angry that he called down the wrath of God on Caradog who immediately was swallowed by the earth and killed.
Saint Bono prayed fervently that God would bring his innocent and beloved grand niece back and miraculously her head was rejoined to her body and she opened her eyes and was alive again. Saint Winifred was tonsured into the monastic life. She and Saint Bono founded a monastery next to the spot of her Martyrdom and lived there 8 years. A spring came up where Saint Winifred had been beheaded and the waters became known for miraculous healing. being Saints they were humble and didn't discuss these things
Saint Winifred felt a call to go inland and find a place of rest and quiet reflection. She founded Gywtherin Abbey at the headwaters of the River Elwy at some point during this time she also made a pilgrimage to the Vatican. She reposed in peace and old age for the 2nd time. The spring where Saint Winifred was Martyred survived the Protestant destruction and is still a pilgrimage site known as Holywell. It is said that whoever asks a favor of Saint Winifred here on her feast day three times shall have it if it is good for their soul [source]

Happy Feast Day Saint Winifred 600-660 Feast Day: November 3 Patronage: Virgins, from unwanted advances, incest victims, martyrs, Holywell, Wales, Gwytherin, Wales, Shrewsbury, England
Saint Winifred was from a wealthy Welsh family. Legend has it that she was beheaded by a rejected suitor, Prince Caradog. Winifred’s uncle, Saint Beuno, miraculously restored her head and life. A spring sprung up where her head fell called Holywell or St. Winifred’s Well (the Lourdes of Wales) where pilgrims travel to and many miracles take place. Winifred later became a nun and Abbess at Gwytherin in Wales. {website}

Today we celebrate the Venerable Winifred of Wales. Saint Winifred was of noble lineage and the niece of Saint Beuno. Graced with both physical and spiritual beauty, many sought her hand in marriage however the holy one was steadfast that she preserve her virginity for Christ’s sake. Once when Winifred was at home alone, a prince named Caradog rode past on his horse and was struck by her beauty and desired to marry her. Her resolve to become a nun and preserve her virginity remained steadfast and so the prince attempted to take he by force. Winifred struggled free and escaped, however the prince caught up to her and out of anger, struck her head off with his sword. Her head rolled down the hillside and into the churchyard where her uncle, Saint Beuno, was serving the Liturgy. Her kin and the congregation were mortified, however a spring of healing water sprang forth at the place where the saint’s head fell. Saint Beuno took her head and replaced it on Winifred’s body. Through his prayers, the young girl came back to life. A red line around her head remained for the rest of her life as a testament to this miracle. Soon after, she received the monastic tonsure and gathered eleven nuns around her, instructing them in piety and faith. Having made a pilgrimage to Rome and being greatly influenced by the monastic life there, she called the Synod of Winifred which established a common ascetic life for monastics in Wales. Having established various monastic communities, and being enthroned as abbess at one of them, she peacefully reposed in the Lord on this day in 660AD. Her fragrant relics and tomb proved to be a well spring of miracles. May she intercede for us always + #saint #winifred #wales #nun #monastic #holy #beauty #peace #love #beuno #britishisles #british #britain #love #abbess #prayer #orthodox (at Gwytherin, Clwyd, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkeRW3BLxUM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Godolphins!
This is something you've asked me a lot, and now that @danjaley has released their new Romanov Pose Pack (and I can take screenshots again), I can finally show you the Godolphins in detail!
Tumblr media
(Obsessed with this posepack)
Tumblr media
Let's see who's who!
There are 4 groups signaled by letters, these are the Dowager Duchess and the families of her 3 daughters. The daughters' letters are in order of age. Let's see!
1a: The Hon. Lady Marjorie Alexandra Godolphin, Duchess of Southport.
2a: The Hon. Lord Esmond Nicholas Godolphin, XIVth Duke of Southport
3a: The Hon. Lord William III Evelyn Godolphin, XVIth Marquess of Portborough.
1b: the Hon. Lady Diana Wilhemina Stanhope (née Godolphin) Countess of Mexborough.
2b: The Hon. Lord Cecil Alexander Stanhope, XIth Earl of Mexborough
3b: The Hon. Lord Colin Saint George Stanhope, Viscount Yeoville.
1c: The Hon. Lady Elizabeth Winifred Harmsworth (née Godolphin) Marchioness of Rothermere
2c: The Hon. Lord Vere Sidney Tudor Harmsworth, Marquess of Rothermere.
3c: The Hon. Lord Vere Esmond William Harmsworth, Viscount Daylesford.
4c: The Hon. Lady Winifred Victoria Harmsworth.
D: The Hon. Lady Marjorie Millicent Godolphin (née Cavendish-Bentinck) Dowager Duchess of Southport.
The eldest sons of each marriage have what's called a "courtesy title", except for William, who as the eldest son of a Duke, receives his father's subsidiary title, Marquess. The son's subsidiary title is Viscount, followed by the place where their parent's ancestral home is. Lady Winifred, is just a Hon. Lady, a courtesy address only the children of the highest ranking peers (in the order of precedence) receives.
The setting is the Drawing Room at Finchwick Park, the Godolphin's ancestral home.
Pretty much every piece of clothing was masterfully converted from ts4 by @joojconverts most hairs are either from TS3, TS3 Store, @carversims or from Buckley's Disentangled Set Part 1 . The shoes are all from TS3 Store or the Supernatural pack.
The backround is decorated with Unreleased paintings and Rug, but I assure you, you'll get them eventually! Excuse the shoes sinking on the floor, There's a resizing OMSP under the rug haha. In the backround we see 3 portraits, over the mantelpiece hangs the portrait of the Godolphin sisters when bachelorettes, masterfully executed by John Singer Sargent in 1905 (the portrait is originally Sargent's Acheson sisters)
Hope you enjoy this as much as I've enjoyed making this lol.

the CBC hit job on buffy sainte-marie is truly baffling. the claim is that, because her white parents' names are on her birth certificate, and because she has a younger sister from that same family, who is very much lily-white, she is not legitimately a member of the piapot first nation.
let me use a personal example showing the idiocy of this determination by the CBC. my son is black. once the adoption process went through, he was issued a new birth certificate showing my ex-wife and I as his legal birth parents. we are both white. it is quite obvious that we are not his birth parents, but that's what the birth certificate says (the original birth certificate showing his black parentage is sealed and unavailable except through court order; that how it works).
are you seeing where I'm going with this?
while no one would ever suggest that my ex and I are claiming our son is white, many in the first nations are "white-passing" (you can decide for yourself if you think buffy "passes").
she has always claimed that she doesn't know with certainty her true ancestry, and ultimately understood that she was adopted as an infant, tracing that back to saskatchewan (buffy says this is because her adoptive mother ultimately straight-up told her she was adopted from an unwed mother somewhere north of the piapot first nation).
the CBC also points to inconsistencies in how buffy's heritage was documented in the press, though they're not really inconsistencies. their investigation states that some referred to her as cree (the piapot nation is cree), algonquin (the anishinaabe language group that extends into the canadian prairies includes algonquin and oji-cree), or half-mi'kmaq (her adoptive mother, while white-passing, did actually claim connection to the mi'kmaq, so even that isn't inconsistent if that was before she knew about being adopted from saskatchewan).
claiming that her adoptive white parents *must* be her birth parents is erasure of that [possible/probable/whatever] first nations heritage; it's pure and simple racism (and if you're shocked by racism against the aboriginal community in canada, you're ignoring the country's entire history and present-day situation).
that she has a younger sister or a second cousin who know nothing of a possible connection to the piapot first nation doesn't really mean a damn thing—if buffy was raised as white, then that's all that her younger sister would've known; you can't blame buffy for her sister being kept in the dark.
all that the CBC investigation does is confirm what buffy sainte-marie has always said, which is that she doesn't know with certainty who her birth parents are, and provide yet another example of the mess that interracial adoptees face in figuring out their cultural heritage.
[also, regardless of her birth, she was adopted as an adult into the piapot first nation 60 years ago (they didn't have a problem doing so), which legitimates her status. she has spent her adult life connecting to that first nation and working to support aboriginal recognition and rights.]
[EDIT: Yes, it could be a big lie. I didn't feel that the evidence proved anything beyond a doubt, and to my knowledge her parents never actually denied her supposed Cree ancestry—Albert Santamaria died in 1998; Winifred in 2010. The information about the birth certificate hit home with me as an adoptive parent. I wouldn't understand her motivations if it is all a lie.]

Shout out to my lovely coworker who messaged me asking my opinion of The Green Knight (2021) and then apologized if it offended me, but they think Gawain sucks. Out here reducing people’s regard for me by doubling down, “Yeah, he really does!” and liking a movie with what I consider to be a mediocre manuscript, if shot well and with a nice score.
Meh opinions about director/writer David Lowery’s baffling writing choices below.
But for real my coworker was just so confused by it all and honestly Lowery could’ve stood to explain obscure historical nuances a little more. And by that I mean literally at all. The significance of beheadings, codes of honor, superstition about foxes, the legends of giants; these aren’t common knowledge to modern American viewers. My coworker had no idea why Gawain would stand up and behead the Green Knight or how Saint Winifred mattered, or why Gawain would throw a rock at the fox in the cave, or plead with the giants and then cower in fear. How would they? No cultural baseline is ever established. And of course, not every movie is for every viewer. But The Green Knight certainly didn’t resonate with medievalists and enthusiasts as much as it could have while confusing and alienating everyone else.
I dunno, having adapted the poem myself, there’s a balance to be found. Somewhere between insulting your audience’s intelligence with blatant narrative pauses to expound upon details and providing literally zero worldbuilding so that even people who read the poem have to sit back and question what they watched. Because it’s not a one to one adaptation, there’s an expectation the narrative will organically define the rules of the universe, and show us the confines of our hero’s skills, understanding, and limitations within that universe.
Shouldn’t Morgan have warned Gawain about dangers and counsel him on etiquette while giving him the girdle? Why didn’t Gawain converse with someone at the pub about the threats outside the kingdom? Couldn’t Arthur have given him an interesting anecdote that foreshadows what’s to come? Merlin is worse than a macguffin, just a wasted narrative tool that could’ve guided Gawain or even reminisced with Arthur about some history, but instead he has no dialogue at all. He just nods when the Green Knight enters and serves as a paternity test in the flash-forward. I wonder how Essel’s bell motif could’ve been extrapolated on. Maybe she gives it to Gawain with a warning about foxes or the threat of bandits or even doppelgängers! Why not give her a cutesy nursery rhyme to sing about the outside world while the year wheel rotates and rotates?
It would’ve been perfectly in character for Gawain to ignore all of this only to meet his comeuppance while providing the audience with necessary context. There was so much time spent on wide shots of Ireland that could’ve been used more effectively or even in conjunction with voice over flashbacks. The creators went through the trouble to cast children to play Gawain’s future offspring, why not use them in flashbacks as a representation of his past self as he reconsiders his rash skeptic’s stance? Even continue the doppelgänger motif? But alas! I’m critical because I liked it and wanted to like it more and because it’s a recent and accessible Gawain-related media several people have watched and come to me about. They thought we could bond over it. Except so far, nobody has liked it…haha!

Welcome to our first bonus blog, the new post segment where we’ll be covering all the miscellaneous things about insert-media-here that didn’t make it into the episode! This week we’re sharing observations and fun facts about the 2021 release of The Green Knight starring Dev Patel as told by IER’s very own Shamila Karunakaran, who unfortunately had to bow out of recording due to losing her voice.
This post touches on themes of racism and sexual harassment. And as always, beware of spoilers:
People in this movie really love to cradle Gawain’s face (it's understandable though, Dev Patel and his magnificent beard are extremely pretty here) and the lord and the lady are clearly trying to recruit him as their third.
Bi!Gawain is hardly a concept exclusive to the movie either. In the original story, he kisses both the lady and the lord eagerly without being prompted. He even kisses the lord three times! It’s not like in the film where Gawain is being harassed by the lady and the lord on separate occasions and is clearly frightened by their intimidation. It’s hardly necessary when there’s so much enthusiastic consent in the source material itself.
Dev Patel continues to be adorable with animals as seen with Armani the horse. He’d never ridden a horse before so not only did Dev feed his animal co-star dandelions in between takes, he also tried to gain Armani’s favour by sneaking him apples he had pilfered from the hotel lobby. Petition for Dev to play a Disney prince in 2024!
Gawain’s encounter with Erin Kellyman’s character is itself a retelling within a retelling! It’s only mentioned briefly in one line of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, but St. Winifred was an seventh-century Welsh martyr who had wanted to become a nun. According to legend, a travelling prince became enamoured with her beauty and tried to force himself on her after she rejected him and when she fled to her uncle’s church, the prince decapitated her after the ensuing chase. A healing spring appeared where her head fell and she was brought back to life when her uncle returned her head to her body, but she would have a red mark around her neck where it had been sliced through for the rest of her life.
Some of the details have been changed in the film with the suitor now being a lord who returned to kill her after she rejected his advances, but unsurprisingly, Winifred herself is the patron saint against unwanted advances. When you take into consideration that Winifred is played by a white and Jamaican actress and how her bodily autonomy has been violated by a white man for rejecting what he wanted from her, it’s understandable that Winifred gets upset and outright questions why Gawain would ever ask what she would give him in return for her head.
She likely thought that she found an ally in a non-white Gawain, but even if he was going through the chivalry script, there’s still an expectation and entitlement to get something in return. Gawain still has a certain privilege over Winifred simply through being non-Black.
I do love that they took this not even a footnote of a character from the original story and fleshed out a scene for her and I do love that Erin Kellyman got to play a traditionally white character. That being said, she shouldn’t have been the only Black character in the film and don’t try to argue for historical accuracy, more Black British actresses in period pieces, period!
Fun fact: the places in Wales where St. Winifred was decapitated is traditionally considered to be a place Gawain passed through on his way to the Green Chapel. The original story references Gawain traveling past a place called "Holy Hede", which modern scholars generally agree is the Welsh town of Holywell, the site of St. Winifred’s Well.
Very irrelevant detail, but the way that Sarita Choudhury is dressed in The Green Knight reminds me of Sophie Okonedo's wardrobe as Margaret of Anjou in The Hollow Crown. It’s an interesting throughline considering Sarita and Sophie both play complicated older female characters who were originally white in their respective old British source materials and have lost their sons by the end of their respective stories, depending on the interpretation you go with for the former.
If I had a nickel... well, I’d have three since Gawain goes on to lose his own son in the vision of the bad future he has.
But let’s get further into Sarita’s casting or more specifically, who she plays in the movie. And to the trolls in the comments, Sarita is half white and her character is canonically Arthur's half-sister, both in the film and the source material, it's perfectly plausible for Sarita and Sean Harris to play siblings.
While Sarita’s character is simply called Mother in the credits, she’s a composite of both Morgause and Morgan le Fay, both half-sisters of Arthur in legend. Morgause is mother to Gawain and his more infamous half-brother Mordred (Sacha Dhawan for the role anyone?) while Morgan le Fay is the sorceress orchestrating the events of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
And Gawain himself is also a composite with Mordred, especially the part where he is Arthur’s delfacto heir and is despised by his subjects.
As David Lowery states, the relationship between Morgan le Fay and Gawain written for the film evokes Lowery's own experiences with his mother and needing to be pushed to stand on his own as an adult. Having mother and son both be brown in the film adds another layer to an already complicated relationship and reminds me WAY too much of what it was like growing up with a brown mother myself.
When you think more on it, Gawain and Morgan being brown gives further insight into their motivations. It’s telling that even with all his flaws, Gawain as a brown man would still see himself as unfit to be heir to his legendary white uncle. He himself even says that “I have [no tales of myself] to tell”, which works on a metatextual level since there are very few popular portrayals of Arthurian Knights who look anything like Dev Patel.
With Morgan’s case, you could argue that her being brown would be another sign of her being “othered” in Camelot. Even though her half-brother is king, it’s already canon that he hasn’t been very involved in Morgan and Gawain’s lives and if he didn’t give them support, who else would? Especially since it’s already established that even the tavern patrons have no respect for Morgan, freely insulting her to Gawain’s face.
With that context in mind, it makes sense that Morgan would be more proactive in being a shaper of destiny for both herself and her son, even if that means bringing down the fall of a society she had no place in.
And consider this: given who his mother is, the vision that Gawain has about the bad future near the end of the film: was it really the product of his imagination or did he inherit some form of magic from Morgan le Fay after all? You could argue that the Green Knight is responsible for causing the vision, but when you realize the extent of Morgan’s role in summoning him in the source material...
Finally, what sort of story would you come up with for the little girl playing with Arthur’s crown in the stinger? What would be her role in a potential sequel? Is she Gawain’s foil or would she be more like him than she’d like to admit? What sort of relationship does she have with Morgan le Fay? Is she the future heir of Camelot or does she spell trouble by inheriting her grandmother's magic? Or porque no los dos? If this is something you’d be interested in exploring, dear listeners, we bequeath this prompt to you.

Inspired by one of the champion boxers in Branch A, she took the ring almost immediately, wanting to experience the thrill, failure, but mostly joy that being in the ring had to offer!” 1: Rosa Mariposa (Carmen Balmori) Age: 20 Height: 4′11 Weight: 122lbs Home: Madrid, Spain Record: 19-3 (2 KO’s) “The gorgeous gem of Madrid, and girlfriend of the Major Circuit Champ, Don Flamenco, Carmen, otherwise known by her pseudonym, Rosa Mariposa, is an elegant opponent. With a spring in her step and a flutter in her heart, she wows the crowd with her presentation and a few moved she learnt from her Amor”  Champ: Barbella Bambina (Bella Mancini) Age: 29 Height: 5′8 ft Weight: 230lbs Home: Milan, Italy Record: 23-4 (19 KO’s) “From Italy, and proud to be it, Barbella is a strongman in the same circus as Mad Clown! Though she has an intimidating appearance, she can be quite funny and goofy, though she is a bit daft with her jokes now and again. But when it comes to the ring? Ohoho, you better watch out, before she drops her bar on you!” WORLD CIRCUIT
4: Heat Wave (Sydney Robinson) Age: 30 Height: 6′0 ft Weight: 192lbs Home: Sydney, NSW, Australia Record: 25-2 (21 KO’s) “As fiery as her name suggests, Heat Wave brings a fistful of fire to her matches. She’s the hot personality that is sure to knock the socks off of folks both in and out of the ring. However, though fiery, she has been seen being very *chill* outside the ring, and especially around her best friend, Blaze Hinabi.” 3: Cajun Jewel (Edmee Boudreaux) Age: 68 Height: 5′8 ft Weight: 118lbs Home: New Orleans, LA, USA Record: 24-2 (20 KO’s) “Dubbed The Beauty of the Bayou and The Voodoo Queen, Cajun Jewel is one old lady you don’t wanna mess with, always carrying a new trick up her sleeves. A true pioneer of the Louisiana spirit, you best watch out when her eyes start to glow, it never ends up good for her opponents!” 2: Mane Event (Becky Smith) Age: 31 Height: 6′1 ft Weight: 202 lbs Home: Las Vegas, NV, USA Record: 19-2 (11 KO’s) “A masked felon, Mane Event is the true heel of the woman’s bracket. Hiding behind her mask of shame after trying to kill a soul singer in Vegas, she took to boxing as an outlet. She’s a vengeful and ruthless soul, uncontrollable but still no match for her own inner beast...maybe one day...” 1: Maple Rose (Rochelle Lavoie) Age: 30 Height: 4′9 ft Weight: 199lbs Home: Montreal, QB, Canada Record: 25-1 (22 KO’s)  “A gorgeous and graceful soul, Maple Rose is the true show stealer, with beautiful attire, personality and pretty much everything else, the only thing she could be missing is a bad hair day. Maple Rose may look dainty, but don’t let that fool you, this is one rose who isn’t afraid to hit you with her thorns.” World Champ: Blaze Hinabi (Emi Sato) Age: 21 Height: 6′1 ft Weight: 130lbs Home: Kyoto, Japan Record: 27 - 0 (27 KO’s) “Whether she be a crackling bonfire, or a calm, flickering flame, Blaze literally blazes through her opponents and lays waste to anyone who stands in her way. Proud to stand in the ring as the youngest Woman’s champion to date, she is a cool fire that will never, ever die.”

Saint Winifred
600-660
Feast Day: November 3
Patronage: Virgins, from unwanted advances, incest victims, martyrs, Holywell, Wales, Gwytherin, Wales, Shrewsbury, England
Saint Winifred was from a wealthy Welsh family. Legend has it that she was beheaded by a rejected suitor, Prince Caradog. Winifred’s uncle, Saint Beuno, miraculously restored her head and life. A spring sprung up where her head fell called Holywell or St. Winifred’s Well (the Lourdes of Wales) where pilgrims travel to and many miracles take place. Winifred later became a nun and Abbess at Gwytherin in Wales.

February 24th 1716 saw the execution of two leading Jacobites, William Gordon, 6th Viscount of Kenmure and James Radclyffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater, but not William Maxwell!
If you remember yesterdays post William had escaped the day before, with the help of his wife  Lady Winifred.
The 1715 Uprising Jacobites threw themselves upon the mercy of Westminster, and were sentenced to death by the Lord Chancellor William Cowper. Only half managed to wrangle mercy from the crown.
Derwent spent part of his youth in exile as the companion of the young James VIII at Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He received permission to return to England in 1709 and quickly established himself as the leader of the Jacobites in Northumberland.
Following his capture at Preston and execution in London he became a tragic hero of songs and ballads. He may have been an Englishman but if the Corries thought him worthy of a song that’s good enough for me.
His partner at the chop, Lord Kenmure, was a Scottish Jacobite. William Gordon was the only son of Alexander Gordon, 5th Viscount of Kenmure of Kenmure Castle and succeeded his father on his death in 1698. He had received a commission from the earl of Mar to raise the Jacobites in the south of Scotland, and first appeared in arms, at the head of 150 horse, on the 11th October, at Moffat, where he proclaimed King James VIII as King. With a Jacobite force he marched into England, and was present at the battle of Preston in Lancashire, on 13th November of the same year.
On the defeat of the rebels and their surrender at discretion, he was conveyed a prisoner to the Tower of London. His trial for high treason took place before the House of Lords on 19th January 1716, when he pleaded guilty, and on 9th February, with the other rebel lords he received sentence of death, and his estates and titles were forfeited to the crown.
On the morning of the 24th February, he was beheaded on Towerhill shortly after Derwent. He expressed his regret for pleading guilty to the charge of high treason, and prayed for “King James.” He presented the executioner with eight guineas, and on laying his head on the block, that “functionary struck it off at two blows.” Not to be outdone by Derwent he also made the folk playlist in O Kenmure’s On And Awa , Willie.
The Corries, tell the story in the song Derwentwater’s Farewell
Farewell to pleasant Dilston My father's ancient seat A stranger must now call thee his Which gars my heart to greet; Farewell each friendly well known face My heart has held so dear My tenants now must leave their lands Or hold their lives in fear No more along the banks of Tyne I'll rove in autumn grey No more I'll hear at early dawn The lav'rocks wake the day; And who shall deck the hawthorn bower Where my fond children strayed? And who, when spring shall bid it flower Shall sit beneath the shade? And fare thee well, George Collingwood Since fate has put us down If thou and I have lost our lives Our King has lost his crown; But when the head that wears the crown Shall be laid low like mine Some honest hearts may then lament For Radcliffe's fallen line Farewell, farewell, my lady dear Ill, ill, thou councell'dst me I never more may see the babe That smiles at your knee; Then fare ye well brave Widdrington And Foster ever true; Dear Shaftsbury and Errington Receive my last adieu And fare thee well my bonny grey steed That carried me aye so free I wish I'd been asleep in my bed Last time I mounted thee; The warning bell now bids me cease My trouble's nearly oer Yon sun that rises from the sea Shall rise on me no more
And when the head that wears a crown Shall be laid low like mine Some honest hearts may then lament For Radcliffe's fallen line Farewell to pleasant Dilston hall My father's ancient seat A stranger now must call thee his Which gars my heart to greet

If I left you my letters as an offering will you put them together for me ? Form endless strings of words and attach them to anything you deem familiar In me ?
Wrap me up in poetry?

Is the cup half full or half empty? I’m not sure anymore. But the content of that cup Is all that’s left of my share of happiness in this world and I’m willing to give it to you…
So why do you have to die thirsty?

Melancholy is rotting Inside of me along with all the expired love I’ve never got to express.
I’m lost in the motions of life with my dreams as a background sound, they play on repeat and i can’t stand them anymore.
For a minute there, I felt like I can’t stand myself; how do I expect that from anyone else if I can’t do it myself?
So I thought, maybe... If I managed to love myself I’ll be able to convince you that I’m in fact lovable.
Now that i overcompensated. that I did what you deemed impossible. Now, that I’m so full of myself
How do i fit you ?
