when reading scripture or religious texts in my studies from a variety of religions (a not-insignificant part of my education has been religious studies) i can appreciate and understand the beauty and appeal of it and make sense of its internal logic system and worldview and feel that i'm picking up what it's putting down even if i don't necessarily identify with it on a personal level, but i gotta be honest i always feel like i'm missing something or losing my mind when i read christian texts like i don't get it and it doesn't make sense to me and nothing about the trinity makes sense to me and the entire worldview feels so harsh and terrifying and bleak for no reason and every time i've asked anyone in my family (on the christian side) to explain any of it to me like sincerely i just feel more baffled and whenever i've had to read passages of the new testament i dont get it at all like even abstractly i don't understand and it makes me feel crazy like what i'm looking at has to be completely different from what other people are seeing and i don't mean it in a reddit atheist smug asshole way like it's genuinely beyond my comprehension I Don't Get It and i don't think i ever will

words: 1.3k
warnings: established relationship, reader has really good relationship with parents, implied bad family situation for rafe, christmas celebrations

“hey momma.” you say with a smile as you answer the phone, clicking it to speaker so you continue to work.
“hi baby girl!” your moms voice rings out through the speaker. “did you figure out what time you're leaving?”
“looks like tomorrow at 10 am, then we should be to yours by dinner.” you hum, glancing at the clock while continuing to pack up. “oh, change of plans by the way. rafe is coming with me.”
“oh yay!” your mom squeals. she only met rafe once when she came to visit you in the outer banks at your new house, but it was so early on in your relationship that she didn't really get to know him well, and things are a lot more serious now. “i can't wait to have my babies home for christmas.”
“does that mean andrew will be able to make it?” you ask, inquiring about your brother.
“they'll be here, but leaving the day after christmas for his wife's family.”
“okay, that sounds good. itll be nice to have the four of us back together, plus rafe and diana.” you hum. ever since your brother went away for college when he turned 18, and you left two short years after to move to the outer banks, it was hard to get the whole family together, even for the holidays. you spent the last two christmases in the outer banks, one spent alone in your new house, the other with the camerons.
you were shocked by how different their christmas was than what you were used to. it was cold and devoid of any traditions besides what was seemingly forced on the kids of the family. you ultimately had a good time with rafe, but you missed the familiarity and fun that you had with your family.
rafe was originally going to stay in the outer banks, not wanting to intrude on your family, but you finally convinced him last night that everyone would be happy to have him.
“okay so tell me about what i can get for rafe.” your mom says, and you just know she's bent over the counter with a notepad and pen in hand, not wanting rafe to be left out of opening presents.
--
“ready to go rafey?” you ask, looking at the back of the car, trunk filled with your suitcases, while the back seat has already wrapped presents, both for your family and ones for rafe, as well as his for you.
“i am. last chance to say if you forgot something.”
“nope.” you shake your head, “ive gone over my checklist three different times.”
“alright, off to your parents then.” rafe says, leaning over and pressing a kiss to your lips before taking off down the road.
--
“can we stop? i gotta pee.” you say, looking at the sign for an upcoming rest stop.
“again?” rafe sighs, but there's a small smile gracing his features as he turns the indicator on, pulling off to the road stop.
you hop out of the car, but rafe follows right behind you, not letting you go in by yourself, always extra cautious when you're out in public, especially away from the outer banks.
“gonna get us snacks.” rafe says, keeping his eye on you as you head into the bathroom, only turning to the vending machines when you disappear behind the tile wall.
--
“hey baby.” rafe says softly, stroking over your thigh to wake you up. “we're almost there.”
you stretch with a yawn, rubbing at your tired eyes. you blink them open, realizing the roads are now familiar, about to pull off the highway at your home town exit.
“thanks for driving, rafey.” you say, leaning over the center console to give him a kiss on the cheek. you clean up the car a bit while he finishes the drive, gathering up the wrappers of the chips and snacks and shoving them into a bag to throw away later.
“im so excited.” you say as rafe turns down your road, and your parents house comes into view.
“i can’t wait to get to know them.” rafe says, pulling into the driveway. you can’t help the squeal you let out in excitement as you rush out as soon as the car is in park, briefly turning your head to make sure rafe is following you as you step onto the porch, not bothering to know before flinging open the door, knowing that your parents are no doubt waiting right inside for you.
“mom! dad!” you shout, jumping into their arms as they swallow you into a comforting hug. you press a kiss to both of their cheeks before turning to rafe.
“i brought these for you.” rafe sticks forward his hand, in it a bouquet of flowers, presenting them to your mother.
“oh, rafe, darling you shouldn’t have.” your mom coos, pulling rafe into a hug before rushing into the kitchen to place the flowers into a vase. rafe gives your dad a firm handshake before offering to help carry in your bags.
you smile and look out the door as they chat casually, happy that rafe seems to be fitting in instantly.
--
“its just so different.” rafe says softly, stroking his hand absentmindedly over your back as you’re curled up next to him on the couch.
“what do you mean?” you hum, pressing your lips against his shoulder, even though you can guess what he’s talking about.
“your family is just so… easy going. and you all get along so well.” rafe says, looking around the living room at your parents sharing a couch, and your brother and his wife sitting in matching armchairs, all chatting happily amongst themselves.
“im lucky to have such an amazing family.” you say, looking to rafe. “and that you’re a part of it.” “i dont want to intrude though, baby. so if you have any traditions you want to be just amongst your-” “shh.” you cut rafe off, a smile on your face. “we all want you here. my mom was so excited when i told her you were coming. you love me right?” you ask, which rafe of course nods. “and we are planning to be together forever right? so of course my family is going to want you around, to include you in our traditions.” “sorry, dears, i couldn't help but overhear.” your mom says with a slightly blush to her cheeks. “forgive me for eavesdropping, but i actually have a gift for you rafe.”
rafe begins to say that he doesn’t need any gifts, but your mom cuts him off with a quick stern look, one he’s seen in you many times.
your mom returns to the room with a small wrapped box in her hands.
“thank you.” rafe says sincerely, setting the box on his lap. you smile, already knowing what is inside, seeing it before when andrew first brought diana to christmas celebrations.
rafe opens the box carefully, attempting not to rip the paper and make a mess, aware of the eyes on him.
“a christmas stocking.” rafe says with a smile as he pulls it out. you wait for him to notice, and you can tell from his body language the second his eyes read over his own name, hand stitched by your mother, signifying rafes place in the family. he tenses for a second before melting completely, body slumping against yours.
you wrap your arms around rafe, knowing this is an emotional moment for him, his moment where he realizes how loved and accepted he is.
“we are so happy you’re a part of our family, rafe.” your mom says, accepting his hug when he stands to embrace her and thank her for the gift, looking to the mantelpiece with all of the family stockings hanging, where his will soon join.
your dad strikes up a conversation with andrew, and you know its to take some of the pressure and attention off rafe as he ducks his head into your neck, pressing soft kisses to the skin there.
“i told you you wouldn’t be intruding.” you whisper, running your fingers through his hair.
“yeah, yeah.” rafe says sarcastically. “you’re right.” you give him a look, before he concedes with a nod. “as always.”

summary: Task Force 141 had an odd tradition of showing horror movies to their newest members and scaring the absolute living shit out of them. However, they're surprised when you start to commentate on the movie as if it was some nature documentary. They're even more surprised when you starting laughing hysterically.
pairing: Task Force 141, König x gn!platonic!Reader (codename: Monsoon)
warnings: SWEARING, fictional movie violence (but GORY IMAGERY SO BE WARNED and also spoilers for Martyrs

Despite being trained soldiers and experiencing all types of horror on the battlefield, the 141 still acted like American frat boys. Once the guns were all locked away and they changed out of their fatigues, they were the absolute worst. One of their hazing rituals was to make their newest member watch a gruesome or terrifying horror movie. The ritual started when Gaz joined, they made him sit through Hostel and he still fears traveling. Next was Soap and he shared Gaz's sentiments after watching Infinity Pool and experiencing the absolute terror that is Mia Goth. They even roped König into their routine and watched as he held his hands over his eyes and sat through Megan is Missing. Poor boy couldn't even hide behind his mask as he watched the horrifying images of Megan appear on the screen.
After a good training session with the team, they invited you to watch a movie in the common room. It was your first week as an official addition to the 141 and you were happy to participate in some comradery. You headed off to the showers before the film and couldn't see the devious faces of Gaz and Soap. They had a plan for you that night and were excited to continue the tradition. "You don't think it'll be too scary?" Gaz said to Soap as they walked to the showers. "We picked a solid one," he replied but shuttered when he remembered his experience, "still can never look at me in the mirror."
After your shower, you dried your damp hair as you entered the common room. Your team had used their strength from training to move together two couches and a few chairs in front of the television. "Ready for movie night, Monsoon?" Kyle asked as he appeared with some popcorn. You grabbed a handful before you nodded. You took a seat next to Soap and Gaz joined on your other side. Price was lounging on one of the chairs and Ghost sat with König to his left. "We picked a good one, just for you," Soap said with a suspicious smirk but you shrugged as he unpaused the film. "What is it?" you questioned as you looked around to see everyone had a similar expression. "Nothing like you haven't seen before" Price replied and you nodded as you turned to the screen.
The movie opened with a family enjoying dinner and you rolled your eyes at the thought of another heartwarming piece. Before you could speak up, a woman entered and brutally murdered the family one by one with a shotgun. "Fuckin' hell," Ghost muttered as the blood stained the screen and you couldn't help but feel a little skeptical. "The blood is too red, they could've done a better job," you muttered and Soap looked at you as if you were insane. You threw your hands up defensively in response. "I'm just saying," you muttered and the film continued.
The next scene you had commentary on was when Anna was exploring underneath the house and discovered a secret chamber. There, she discovered a woman with a steel blindfold attached to her face. "Holy shit," Gaz whispered as they zoomed in to the metal mixing with his scarlet blood. König was silent but it was clear he was fearing the worst as he tried to look away. "How is she even still alive?" Price uttered and you chimed in. "Exactly! It's an actual death sentence and just unrealistic that they can screw that in and not have her die from blood loss," you exclaimed, pointing at the screen. Yet again, everyone looked at you incredulously. "You can't expect me to watch a movie and not point out the flaws."
You remained relatively silent and kept your opinions to yourself until Anna became the latest subject and experienced brutal beatings and verbal degradations. With every shot, everyone turned away but you just rolled your eyes. You even looked bored at some points, much to the confusion of everyone in the room. Even Ghost was a bit disturbed by the brutality of the movie and put down his plate of leftovers. "I don't get what's so scary," you mumbled and Gaz lightly hit your leg to silence your sarcastic commentary.
Eventually, Anna reached the "final stage." The screen was filled with horrifying imagery and in the middle of it König took a break to walk away and hit the head. You continued watching the spectacle and tried to keep your thoughts to yourself. However, as Ghost and Price looked disgusted as the doctor peeled off her skin in a few fleshy sheets, you couldn't hold it in any longer. You laughed as the attention was on you again. "What now, Sergeant?" Price asked, bewildered. "It's just so anatomically impossible for her to survive, I mean look at her she's practically being skinned alive," you exclaimed and pointed at the screen. König had the unfortunate timing of returning when the camera zoomed in on Anna and you could hear him turn around and walk away. You chuckled as Gaz's covered his eyes to block the sight of Anna sitting in a comatose state with nothing left except for her muscles and veins.
Soap had enough and grabbed the remote to pause the film. "Okay, what the fuck, Monsoon," he interrogated and you could feel the spotlight fall on you. "What do you mean, Soap? I'm just saying the obvious," you replied back and childishly crossed your arms. "No," Gaz continued, "why are you so unfazed?" You laughed suddenly and your sides began to hurt before you recovered. "Stuff like this doesn't scare me at all," you said as you wiped some tears from your eyes. "So you're telling me you watch this for fun?" Price joined in and you nodded in response.
"Oh yeah, I love horror movies!" you explained as they looked at you wide-eyed. Ghost laughed loudly at the reveal. "I've watched all kinds of messed up shit," you continued, "From The Human Centipede to Hostel, I've seen it all." Gaz looked at Soap and you could see the glint of disappointment in their eyes. "Were-were you trying to make me scared?" you questioned and the two nodded. "It's a tradition we have in the 141, watch a gruesome movie and get the shit scared out of you," he replied quietly and you couldn't help but feel a little bad. "We can still continue?" you offered but Ghost shook his head as he got up. "If I don't have to sit through this, I won't," he said and waved off before heading to his quarters. Price followed suit and Gaz began to clean up, leaving only you and Soap on the couch.
"You are fucking crazy," Soap swore and you shot a look at him. "You telling me that was scary to you, Sergeant?" you said skeptically and Gaz laughed in response. As he shook his head in refusal, you knew how you would get back at him. A week later Soap's screams filled the base as you had snuck a picture of the martyred Anna into one of his nudie magazines. "Serves you right, Mactavish," you smiled to yourself before you settled back onto the couch and played the first movie of your Insidious marathon.

not to be a hater but i dont like most botw/totk zelink content because so much of it is overwhelmingly straight.... and i dont automatically dislike straight ships, its just that one in particular. i see people making content about them getting married, and having kids and being royalty, link loving zelda because he's devoted to her as royalty and his job as her knight and because she's so beautiful and kind and gentle. and zelda loving him because he's so protective and strong and he always saves her, and im like. barf in my fucking mouth
either they have a non-romantic relationship that surpasses all capacity of human understanding, they operate on a totally different wavelength than anyone else around them, and they implicitly need the other in their lives for reasons they can't quite explain but they still have other romantic interests,
OR
they completely do away with old expectations of continuing the monarchy and having a traditional family, both of them are trans and gay and build a house in the middle of nowhere where no one knows they exist because theyre so fucking sick of all the responsibilities hyrule has placed on them before they could even turn 25. zelda leaves behind the title of princess and link abandons the burden of being a fighter. they take nature photos and study plants and raise horses.

✦ ﹒oliver and you form an unlikely bond over his hatred for the cattons and your thirst for revenge. but when you dance with the devil, you're bound to fall. for satan himself or something far more sinister...

✦ ﹒graphic implied sex ﹐major character death ﹐strangling (non-sexual) (sorry yall) ﹐ drowning (non-sexual)
i wanted to hold off from giving a snippet of this one-shot so soon but im SO excited to show u guys!!
Tumblr media
As predicted, the entire Catton household fell apart after Felix was found. He collapsed on the wooden tiling of the bridge, sprawled out with a mouthful of his puke pooled around his ever-paling silhouette.
It was obvious he suspected. He trusted them anyway and attempted to save himself in the process.
Even though you both were invited to the funeral a couple of days after the fact, the rock-tossing (an off-putting tradition in the Catton family) was regarded as family only.
You sat, only an hour later, bare feet dangling off of the edge of the bridge as Oliver attempted to retrieve each rock from the drafts of the flowing river current.
"Don't fall in and drown, Ollie!" You exclaimed, playfulness irking your tone as you grinned down at him. The sight of Oliver, ass-up, in an attempt to grasp the smooth, memorial rock was a sight to witness indeed.
Oliver turned his head and snapped out of his focused determination to flash you a similar smirk. "I'd have to be bound and gagged for that to happen, sweetheart."
His words caused a particular imagery to pollute your thoughts.
Alas, your plans towards the Catton family and their demise were practically writing themselves. Venetia was becoming heavily depressed by the absence of Felix and Farleigh (whom Oliver framed and resulted in him having to exit Saltburn for good).
With a few metal blades smuggled into a porcelain bath and a few encouraging words from Ollie, the woman was found bathing in her crimson remains. Funeral. Rock-tossing. Rock-retrieving.
"Be careful the rock doesn't weigh you down, Ollie!"
You continued to tease him as he soon approached you. Oliver's typically straight, combed-over locks of caramel were drenched. The waterdrops highlighted the olive tint of his skin, and you wished desperately to kiss all the droplets away.
Oliver took hold of your waist, pulling you in. A droplet of water splashed against the end of your nose, causing a stray laugh to rise out of you.
"If I'm goin' down, you're goin' down with me."
Oliver lowered his head, his water-dripping, plump lips placed a long kiss on the end of your nose. The sudden shake of his wet strands caused water to spray all across your face.
You groaned in protest. You kissed him back anyway.

I saw your requests were open and I came RUNNING! I’m the one who always requests dad!tan but I have a different one this time (barely) cause I’m thinking of like dad!pietro. Would love some HCs or a short fic, whatever you want honey. Love you and your writing!!
hii!! omg it’s you!! ofc angel, love you and hope you’re well💌
DAD PIETRO HCS.
— I feel like he's a boy dad (but maybe has 3 kids? twins - boy and girl age 5 or 6?? (can't help myself) and another little boy, like 2???? idk, not completely sure?? or just one kid?? no idea where I stand on the amount tbh lol)
— (might be stereotypical dad stuff but bc it's pietro it works) loves being able to do sporty things with the oldest boy. throwing balls in the garden, taking him to sports events, watching him at school games, taking him to practice - all that kind of stuff. he might be slightly disappointed if his son isn't into sports stuff, but he won't push it or make him feel bad about it
— the twins love to hold onto him as he speeds around
— he's a fun dad but he's not careless
— he wishes he had more time with his parents and often wishes they were around so they could meet his family. big, large families are a part of his culture (I think??? like an eastern european thing??) so he often feels like he's missing out and not able to continue traditions
— (im letting wanda have her boys and vision bc im not cruel) and bc pietro and wanda are orphans, they make conscious efforts to spend lots of time together - family is very important to them both. so they like to have game nights, sunday dinners, sleepovers for the kids, days out with both their families. they want their kids to be close cousins and do tonnes of fun stuff together
— the kids love his breakfasts bc he always does so much and makes it playful
— getting the kids ready for school is fun bc he's so fast and makes games out of it
— the kids love inviting their friends over so they can show off pietro. he secretly loves how cool they think he is. "your dad is so cool. wish mine was like that" he just loves it (even if it is the thought of a 5yr old with no real ability to think for themselves)
— very good at being a dad. it's like a natural instinct to him. he's like a fun uncle but with the responsibilities of a dad
— very active with the kids. always doing something sporty/ doing something outside
— love the idea of him in pjs in the morning and one kid is just hanging off him while he’s telling another what to do/ helping with homework, and feeding the youngest
— has dad facial hair scruff (🫠)
— when you come home and pietro had the day with the kids, they’d be sleeping on him on the sofa. both kids tucked into his side, little baby on his chest and the tv is playing cartoons. it’ll be your new lock screen
— he teaches the kids sokovian, and uses terms of endearment/ everyday words in his home language so the kids pick up on it. and more importantly use it

Pairings: gojo x suguru's sister fem!reader
Cw: fluff ,angst?(Idk if it can be considered angst, the ending)
~ requested, i really liked writing this but i was on a time crunch so im sorry its short, it my first time posting something i wrote so im sorry if its bad <3
-synopsis: gojo satoru was your brother's bestfriend, he was good looking ,witty and flirty for the most part, you were both attracted to each other and suguru knew nothing about it, today he was coming over for a barbeque night ,lets see what the future holds for you<3
——————————————————————————
The evening breeze gently swayed the leaves as Satoru made his way to his best friend Suguru's house. It was time for their monthly barbeque, a cherished tradition that Satoru eagerly anticipated. As he reached the familiar front door, he could hear the sound of laughter and music coming from the backyard.
When Satoru stepped into the yard, he was greeted by the lively scene of Suguru's family and friends gathered around a fire pit. Suguru was tending to the grill, his face lighting up with a welcoming smile when he saw Satoru. As Satoru looked around, his gaze settled on Y/N, Suguru's sister, who was busy setting up snacks on a nearby table.
Y/N's hair was styled in a loose bun, and she wore a comfortable yet stylish sweater. Satoru couldn't help but notice how at ease she seemed, moving gracefully as she arranged the snacks with her delicate hands.
“no Satoru, she is off limits”, he thought to himself as he sat down in Suguru’s family circle and began greeting everyone. Throughout the evening, he caught himself subconsciously glancing at her and mentally cursed himself for doing so, that is until towards the end of the night, as the party began to get in full swing, he caught y/n sneaking glances at him and felt butterflies as both of them hurriedly looked away after getting caught by the other.
Later that evening, Satoru found himself at Y/N's bedroom door after receiving a message from her asking him to come up. He took a moment to steady himself, wondering what she might want to talk about. He knocked gently on the door.
"Come in," Y/N's voice called out, her tone inviting. with a smirk, Satoru turned the doorknob and entered the room, closing the door behind him.
As he stepped inside, he took in the cozy ambience of Y/N's room. Soft lighting bathed the space, and a hint of her favourite floral scent lingered in the air. His gaze found Y/N standing in front of a mirror, adjusting her clothes. She seemed relaxed, yet there was an air of anticipation about her.
"You called?" Satoru asked, his voice soft as he approached her. Y/N turned to face him, her eyes locking onto his with a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
"Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about something," she replied, gesturing for him to sit down. Satoru took a seat on the edge of her bed, his curiosity piqued by her confusing expression.
Y/N turned back to the mirror for a moment, making a final adjustment to her attire before turning fully toward Satoru. "Thanks for coming up. It's been nice hanging out tonight, but there's something I wanted to discuss with you, alone," she began, her voice sincere.
Satoru gulps and nods, his smirk fading, ushering her to continue as the room fills with deafening silence, and his gaze locked onto her back, “I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now” she says as she turns around to face him, making eye contact with his delicate blues, Satoru feels himself grow a little blush at the eye contact but doesn't break it, “continue” he says,
walking closer y/n looks at him with a look of determination in her eyes and a smirk, standing up, Satoru looks down at her small frame approaching him and feels his heart racing.
standing in front of him, Y/N met his gaze, her eyes reflecting a mix of curiosity and anticipation. Satoru couldn't help but admire the way she carried herself with elegance He took a small step closer, closing the distance between them.
Bending down slightly, Satoru leaned in close to Y/N, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "You know, you have a way of making my heart race." His voice was low and smooth, carrying a hint of playful teasing.
Y/N's breath caught at his words, a slight smile playing on her lips. The proximity of his voice sent a shiver down her spine, and she could feel her cheeks warm at his unexpected admission.
Taking the moment into her own hands, Y/N reached up and placed her hand gently on Satoru's cheek. She tilted her head slightly, her eyes locked with his, and then she closed the gap between them, her lips meeting his in a soft, tender kiss.
The touch of Y/N's lips sent a surge of warmth through Satoru. He responded eagerly, his hands finding their way to her waist as he leaned into the kiss. It was a sweet, lingering moment, filled with a sense of mutual exploration and a growing connection between them.
Y/N's kiss was both gentle and purposeful, conveying the depth of her feelings and the anticipation of what this moment could mean for their relationship. Satoru's heart raced, and he couldn't help but lose himself in the sensation of the kiss, savouring the taste of her lips and the warmth of her touch.
As they finally parted, their foreheads rested gently against each other, both of them catching their breath. Y/N's eyes sparkled with a newfound closeness, while Satoru's smile spoke of a moment he wouldn't soon forget. The kiss had marked the beginning of something new, and both of them knew it.
The kiss had been a tender moment of connection, leaving both Satoru and Y/N breathless. But as they pulled apart, Satoru's expression suddenly changed. His eyes widened slightly, and his face dropped, a hint of panic creeping into his features.
"What if Suguru finds out about this?" he asked, his voice laced with worry. Satoru stepped away from Y/N, creating a distance between them as he abruptly turned and sat down on her bed. He buried his head in his hands, overwhelmed by the thought of how his best friend might react.
Y/N's heart sank at the sight of Satoru's distress. She hadn't considered the impact their kiss might have on his relationship with Suguru, but seeing his reaction, she realized it weighed heavily on him. With a gentle but determined expression, Y/N stepped closer to Satoru and knelt in front of him.
"Y/N, we can't do this," Satoru said, his voice filled with uncertainty and regret. He lifted his head slightly, and she could see the inner conflict in his eyes.
Y/N reached out and placed her fingers under Satoru's chin, tilting his face up to meet her gaze. Her touch was tender, a reassuring gesture meant to calm his fears. " Satoru," she said softly, "He won't find out if we don't tell him. It will be our little secret."

Any fun Aang facts/ headcanons/ thoughts?
i don’t know if this is exactly fun but i think a lot about aang coping the first couple years after the end of the war. like i think on a spectrum of “the war is over and im so happy!!” to “suddenly thrust into a leadership position that is uniquely isolating and horrible,” aang perhaps isn’t struggling as much as the new firelord, but it’s a close thing.
i think katara would be the one who is happiest out of all of the gaang, since the war being over relieves this huge weight off her shoulders and she also gets to do the fulfilling work of rebuilding her tribe and finally being able to live up the potential she’s always imagined for herself, being able to preserve and pass on her heritage to a hopeful new generation. (that isn’t to say that she isn’t traveling the world with aang, trying to mitigate the damage caused by the war, but she would go back home as soon as possible. she needs to see gran gran!!!) there’s a sense of pride and satisfaction and joy to her role in this world that cannot be denied.
suki is in a similar position, where as the leader of the kyoshi warriors, her reunion with her sisters and their return to kyoshi island would be triumphant and joyous, and she gets to participate in the process of teaching a new generation of warriors, passing on her traditions and using her skillset to help people elsewhere. but then there’s also the lingering, nagging memory of being alone in a maximum security prison, and that trauma isn’t something one just gets over…
i see toph, more than anyone, spending the most time with zuko in the fire nation. she understands what it’s like to be alone, and she’d rather be with her family than her biological parents. i think she does visit them, but it doesn’t go well. toph may be incredibly sharp and mature for her age, but she is still just a kid, and the fact that her father will continue to reject her his entire life is a great wound, as much as she could flippantly deny it. but zuko understands what that’s like more than anyone, so being able to help him helps her through her own pain. even if zuko is a dick about it (although i think she stubbornly forces him to acknowledge her pain at some point instead of just outright dismissing her like he did on ember island), it’s a symbiotic relationship in its own way. i mean, he could definitely use a human lie detector.
sokka is like all over the place. i don’t know man he’s too complicated to sum up in one little paragraph. but yeah let’s just say the war ending doesn’t automatically Heal him and Solve his copious Issues. because it does solve some things but it also causes other problems. new problems even. but i already sort of talk about that here so let’s just move that for now.
and then of course zuko being crowned boy king of racist nation is like… not great. it works for thematic/symbolic/narrative reasons, of course, but realistically. it's a struggle! so, like i said, i think toph would stick by his side, and i think aang spends a lot of time in fire nation as well, and sokka as much as possible (NOT because he loves zuko, but because he thinks zuko is very stupid and he’s the world’s biggest control freak so if he doesn’t micromanage everything he’ll feel like it’s his fault if anything goes wrong). but iroh is…. not there. his best friend katara (i said what i said) is in the south pole or traveling the world or anywhere but Here. azula is. broken?? the world?? is broken?? and he (famously a fuck-up) is supposed to fix it???? poor kid.
anyway. this is all preamble to contextualize what can only be described as The Worst Puberty Anyone’s Ever Had. okay here’s a bonus fun headcanon: aang is born in october! i say this because he’s the most libra to ever do it (i don’t know shit about astrology but i do know that). so for the entire run of the show (from winter to summer) he is twelve years old. i don’t know if you’ve been around any twelve year old boys recently (not to brag, but i have), but they are Going Through It. and that’s the average twelve year old, not even including the shocking temporal displacement and being the sole survivor of a genocide and shouldering the burden of the whole fucking world and knowing that an entire country full of people want you dead.
the fact that aang maintains his childlike wonder and sweetness for the most part means that it’s going to hit him like a truck once the war ends and he finally has a chance to focus on himself. we see the early stages of puberty affecting him in terms of how he behaves around katara, the change between his book one kiddie crush and his book three confusion and intensity. but it’s more than just burgeoning sexuality. he wakes up, is informed that he’s been stuck in an iceberg for a century, that everyone he ever knew with the exception of appa and bumi are dead due to a genocide, and that it’s his responsibility to end the war. and the rest of the show is him trying to step into that duty and finally becoming the kind of person the world needs him to be. and now… it’s over.
on one hand, there’s that overwhelming sense of relief. he did it. he successfully prevented yet another genocide, stopped the war, and did it all without compromising his values. his new friends (his new family) are all alive and safe and now can rebuild the world together. they can rest and have fun and be kids. and that’s what aang is celebrating in the finale when he looks at all of them and smiles, when he hugs katara in acknowledgement of how far they’ve come. aang is incredibly strong and resilient, and it’s a strength that comes from a place of genuine love and understanding. he was taught good values as a kid, values that have guided him through the most unimaginable of tragedies. but he’s not perfect. no one is.
no one can prevent the oncoming swirl of hormones and trauma and second-guessing that is about to hit aang once it finally occurs to him that the purpose he has been fighting for ever since his entire life changed is now over, basically, and he has to figure out what it means to be alive outside of one sole, defining goal. as anne carson said in red doc>, “to live past the end of your myth is a perilous thing.” as jp sartre said in la nausée, “i outlive myself” (specifically, anny says it to roquentin). what is aang doing if not ouliving himself? had he lived a normal lifespan that hadn’t been disrupted by a spiritually imposed stasis, he probably would’ve been dead by now (long dead, if we can assume that his death in lok is by natural causes). and his myth, his grand destiny of stopping the war and once more carving out a space for his people in this brave new world? well, he did it. accomplished it with flying colors. now it’s over. now he is a perilous thing.
as i alluded to before, i think the only person who can really truly empathize with aang’s situation is sokka. sokka, too, has survived beyond any point he imagined. he has built his entire identity around being a shield, and now that the war is over, his ability to protect others from immediate threats and sacrifice himself for a cause has been ripped away from him. he now has to forge an identity beyond reducing himself to a soldier, in a fundamentally unfamiliar world. sokka was shaped by war, and yet he lived past it, past the end of his myth. aang’s world is now also unfamiliar, not solely because the war is over, but because the war is over and yet he is still alone. he did it, he saved the day, and yet what is his reward? he saved a lot of people, but none of his people. he can never go home again.
aang and sokka’s role as foils is something i want to write about more because i do find it truly fascinating, but in these terms i think we can also read their psychological states postwar as a sort of reciprocal dynamic. i’ve spoken in the past about how in a postwar reconstruction landscape, sokka would do a lot of the administrative work that aang cannot. not only because aang is literally twelve, but because aang cannot focus all his attention on this world when he is also its only real tether to the past. so sokka would make room for aang to focus on being the last airbender by sort of taking on the mantle of pseudo-avatar. solely in the most bureaucratic sense of the title, of course, but that would be the role that sustains and (somewhat) fulfills him after the war. and i think aang would be grateful for that, but he’d also be somewhat resentful?? not of sokka (aang is too emotionally mature for that, plus he respects sokka too much), but he’d definitely resent himself. think about how guilty and shameful he feels whenever he feels like he’s let the world down due to factors beyond his control. and so the fact that sokka is doing so much of what aang himself should be doing because he’s too busy being defined by his status as a genocide survivor… well, it might make him angry. he might lash out. and we’ve seen him frustrated, volatile, and emotionally confused. it’s not pretty.
i know that we all only want the best for aang and want him to be happy and thriving after the war because he’s such a perfect kid who deserves the world, but realistically, i do think there would be a period where he’s kind of hard to be around. not only because that’s just something that happens to all adorable baby boys once they turn thirteen (i, for one, learned this lesson extremely painfully), but because he’s dealing with a lot and the only person who even remotely understands what he’s going through is also the most emotionally repressed guy he knows.
throughout atla, he never allows himself a moment to just stop and feel, because the depth of his grief is actually scary and incredibly difficult to confront. but i think if he did ever allow himself to feel, he might never stop. he might, in fact, spend a month or so curled up in blankets in bed eating nothing but bean curd puffs and shutting out everyone but momo. i actually think that’s more realistic than him immediately entering a perfect relationship with katara and being highschool sweethearts and popping out three kids. and frankly, i think going through that kind of depression now that he no longer has any pressing responsibilities also happens to be something he’s earned. he’s been pushing down his grief, ignoring it, distracting himself from it, this whole time. it’s time he finally lets himself feel.
on a happier note, i like thinking about aang and suki getting closer after the war (or even being close offscreen during the show, like on ember island). i like to think that suki can act as a sort of cool big sister figure to aang, who has suffered just enough that she can empathize with his pain, but isn’t too close to the situation (like fellow genocide survivors katara and sokka, or genocide perperators’ direct descendants, like zuko) that she can still discuss it with him without bringing her own baggage into the fore. she’s very good at giving direct, no-bullshit advice in a nonetheless kind and compassionate way, and she’s also very good at joking around and knowing how to let loose and have fun in a way aang appreciates. she also really admires and highly values the role of the avatar in the world, and she also admires and cherishes aang as a person, so i think she could give him that kind of measured encouragement that aang really needs to hear.
obviously katara has done this for aang a lot in the past, and i’m not saying she wouldn’t also continue to be a shoulder for aang to lean on, because no matter how much he may try to push her away, she will always be there for him, but i think suki also sort of provides a necessary detachment where he isn’t bogged down by any romantic feelings for her and she isn’t bogged down by her own all too similar trauma the way katara is. suki has people to help her work through her own trauma (sokka, her sisters, etc.) so aang doesn’t need to reciprocate. she’s just happy to be there for her surrogate baby bro who needs her. she’ll serve the avatar in any way she can, whether by becoming a kyoshi warrior, by sacrificing herself to free his bison, or by just chilling with him in bed while he rants about his impossible situation and cries on her shoulder.

(full piece)
Yandere dragon Hanayama Kaoru x Princess reader x Orc Jack Hanma
Took me a long time to do this, but it’s here. I felt so bad not allowing Jack to get a proper ending and there will be no part 2. Enjoy the 400 follower special!!!
5.6 k words
Tumblr media
A young girl shyly hid behind her mother’s dress as her big (eye color) eyes gazed at the young boy being introduced to her. She was mesmerized by the small black horns on his head that were still coming in and his small black wings. She couldn’t believe she was meeting a dragon face to face…
His mother pushed him forward as (your name)’s mother pushed the shy girl in front of him. The two children staring at each other in curiosity.
“(Your name)? This is Hanayama Kaoru. He’s going to be your protector until you’re twenty.” Queen (Mom’s name) smiled down at her shy little princess.
“H-hello.” (Your name) softly told the boy with a blush on her cheeks.
“Hello.” Kaoru replied without his face showing much expression. It seems he was the quiet type.
The two mothers smiled at each other fondly. They were happy that the tradition between the Hanayama and the (last name) family would continue for a second generation. The friendship between the two royal families was powerful, dating back for centuries with Kaoru’s mother’s side. But this was the first time a male dragon would be guarding a princess in the tower. Usually his mother would have done it, but lately her health hasn’t been well so she passed the torch to Kaoru.
Kaoru’s mother had utmost faith that Kaoru would make sure nothing happened to (your name). Dragons are extremely possessive over beautiful things after all.
.
.
.
Over the years together in the tower, Kaoru got tired of (your name)’s antics. She always greeted him with a bright smile whenever he came back from a dispute with other creatures or even just a short flight outside. How she always dresses his wounds and made him meals. Kaoru hired servants to make sure she was properly taken care of because he tried to stay as long as he could away from the tower. Lately he’s been leaving her for about a month in the tower.
Kaoru had no romantic interest in a weak human girl. He always coldly rejected her advances and yet she still persisted. She was like an annoying little fly he wasn’t allowed to squash.
And today, he reached a breaking point. Now he was thrilled that she no longer tried to hug to touch him, but she still always greeted him whenever he returned.
“Kaoru!” (Your name) happily greeted him when he flew down and landed on his perch. “I was worried about you when you didn’t come back for a month but I’m glad to know you’re okay-“
“I’m fine.” Kaoru hissed as he flashed his teeth at (your name) who frowned. She held her hands close to her chest as Kaoru continued, “Just leave me alone. I don’t want to see you anymore.”
“Im sorry…” She replied softly as she held her arms. “I just-“
“We are not friends. We are not anything.” Kaoru growled as smoke came out of his nose. “Just because our mothers were does not mean the same for us. They’re both gone now so we don’t have to carry on that stupid tradition. You don’t have to make meals for me, that is for the servants. And you don’t have to hum your stupid little tunes, I sleep just fine on my own. You’re nothing more than a weak little human and I have no interest in any sort of relationship with you.”
Kaoru then turned on his heel and stormed off, leaving a teary eyed (your name) behind. The young woman sighing softly.
“Okay… okay.” She then went back into her room and shut herself in there. The young woman taking her diary and putting it into the burn pile along with all the letters she tried send Kaoru when he went into small battles for more treasure. “I’ll give you what you want.”
(Your name) then decided from that day forward, she wouldn’t bother him again.
.
.
.
Sure enough, Kaoru didn’t see much of (your name) anymore. There were no more greetings or smiles towards him, no more meals made, and no more letters sent. Just silence. It made the tower feel… empty. It’s been weeks of silence.
Kaoru roamed the tower’s halls to check on (your name). Her coming of age was approaching in a year and she would be leaving the tower soon… which meant she’d be getting married off to someone.
Kaoru peaked into her room and saw her standing on her balcony gazing down below. She didn’t turn her head to greet him when he knocked on the door, her eyes transfixed on the forest below. She was ignoring him again.
“I’m going on another trip.” Kaoru told her in his gruff voice. His obsidian eyes gazing at her for any sign of acknowledgment but she didn’t react to him. “It could take awhile.”
(Your name) made no movement towards him and didn’t speak, causing Kaoru to huff. How long was she planning on this silent game? She could at least tell him to be safe- no. Why would he care if she wants him to be safe.
Kaoru stormed off to exit the tower. His body shifting into that of a giant black dragon’s. He was a massive dragon with obsidian scales and long black and red horns that curved back on the top of his head. His obsidian eyes now a bright ruby red.
Kaoru flew up into the sky but not before glancing at (your name) who was still standing on the balcony. Her face looked so… sullen.
Kaoru shook his head. Why did he care if she looked gloomy? It’s not like he cared about her or anything… right?
Kaoru flew off in his pursuit of treasure, leaving (your name) behind once again. Unaware of the danger she would be in…
.
.
.
(Your name) left the tower to sit by the river she always watches from her balcony. The servants didn’t really talk to her and neither did Kaoru so she was usually alone…
(Your name) began to pick some swan river daisies by the water and slowly turn them into bracelets and flower crowns. A smile on her face for the first time in weeks. She only had one more year… one more year in the tower and then she’d be married off to a prince… she hoped maybe then she’d have someone to love.
(Your name) was completely immersed in her flowers that she didn’t notice the honey colored eyes observing her from the bushes. He was enamored with this human woman. She always looked so sad standing on her balcony… this was the first time he’s seen her out of that tower and so defenseless… he was going to take advantage of this opportunity.
A large creature slowly approaching her as she worked on her flower crowns. A large shadow now lingering over her.
(Your name) glanced up and was surprised to see an orc standing before her. His large, muscular body only covered with a green loin cloth, a pair of ill fitted shorts, and some leather gauntlets. He was definitely an orc warrior… but what was he doing here?
“Hello?” (Your name) softly greeted the orc, hoping not to upset him. The orc didn’t seem hostile despite the numerous scars that covered his body.
“Hello.” The orc greeted her back as he slowly went to sit a few feet from her. His honey colored eyes watching her closely. “My name is Jack. Jack Hanma.”
“My name is (your name)…” (your name) softly introduced herself to Jack. Her eyes sparkling under the sunlight as she smiled brightly at Jack. This was the first time she has spoken to another man other than Kaoru… and also the first time someone introduced themselves first to her… she was excited of this potential friendship.
“I always see you in that tower but I’ve never had the chance to talk to you…” Jack muttered as he looked away in embarrassment. “Are you a prisoner?”
(Your name) blinks at him before laughing a bit. “No. I’m not a prisoner. I’m a princess.”
Jack blinker before frowning. “But why are you in a tower?”
(Your name) thought for a minute before answering. “It’s a family tradition for my family to be locked away in a tower until we come of age. It’s a weird way to protect me until I am married off.”
Jack hummed in thought. He guess it made sense to want to protect a princess’s purity but at the same time, she looked so miserable. He couldn’t imagine being locked in a tower with no company… he never sees her talking to anyone in the months he’s been watching her. She always looked so sad and alone… just like him.
Jack had been alone for most of his life. Everyday he had to fight to survive and to become stronger so he could defeat his father… but a part of him craved love. He longed for the way he’s seen other creatures hold each other.
It was pure luck he spotted (your name) and saw he trying to speak to that scarred dragon for years. It gave him hope. Hope that she could love someone like him.
“(Your name)? I don’t live far from this river so you can come see me anytime.” Jack tells her with a hopeful tone in his voice. Jack nearly jumped up in the air when she placed a hand on his arm.
“Thank you… it’s been a long time since I’ve spoken to someone.” (Your name) smiled at Jack who blushed in response. She was so pretty… how could someone be so pretty?
“You can speak to me anytime.” Jack whispered. He’s had his eyes on her for months and he was so happy she wasn’t afraid of him…
(Your name) smiled at him. “I’d love to.”
.
.
.
Kaoru glanced expectantly at his window each day. Wondering when the bird was going to bring him a letter from (your name). She always sent letters whenever he was gone… always.
But over the last week, he had yet to receive one… why wasn’t she sending him letter? Was she okay?
Kaoru paced in his castle in thought. This was the longest they’ve went without an interaction in the decade they’ve known each other and he was going mad.
When the bird landed on his window, he practically leapt at it and snatched the message off the leg. His heart clenching when he realized it was just a message from her family informing him that (your name)’s coming of age party was coming up.
Kaoru threw the letter to the ground as he sat in his chair. He leaned his head back as he sighed.
He had successfully gathered all the jewels and treasure he wanted on this trip and yet he still felt so empty… why did he feel so empty…
Kaoru sighed as he rubbed his forehead. What on earth was going on with him? Why did he miss (your name) so much?
.
.
.
Over the next few weeks, (your name) began to see Jack as much as she could. The two sharing meals she made together and stories. Sometimes (your name) would sit beside Jack and read with him.
For the first time since she’s been in the tower, she has a friend. A real friend.
(Your name) smiled at Jack as she made him a flower crown. The orc happily accepting the crown as he sat beside her by the river.
“There. Now you’re a prince.” (Your name) smiles at Jack who laughs with her.
“I’m a ferocious warrior prince.” Jack snickers. “My brethren would have a cow if they saw me like this.”
(Your name) leans her head on Jack’s arm as they sit by the water together. They became so close over these last few weeks, if feels like they’ve known each other for a lifetime.
“I think you’re neat.” (Your name) tells Jack. “I admire you a lot, Jack.”
Jack blushes as he turns away. He hates how soft he is for her but at the same time, he loves it. He loves her.
Jack just hates how out of place his reflection looks next to her. He’s an orc and she’s a princess… they’re from two very different worlds.
Jack glanced at (your name) who was smiling as she made more flower bracelets. He wanted her… he wanted her almost as bad as he wanted to defeat his father. And damn it, he’d do anything for her… anything.
“Jack? I made us some sandwiches to enjoy.” (Your name) reached into her bag and pulled out some little sandwiches she made.
Jack smiled, his tusks almost digging into his cheeks from how wide it was.
“You spoil me, sweet cheeks.” Jack felt like he needed to gift her something… maybe she’d like a new fur to keep warm with before the cold months hit…
.
.
.
Kaoru threw a chair across the room when he received a letter back from the servants in the tower. (Your name) had befriended another man… the servants wrote that they share meals together and they’re always laughing.
Kaoru couldn’t stand it. Why was she doing that… she must want to upset him. She wants him to be jealous… that’s what it had to be. She would never move on. They’ve been together for a decade.
Kaoru glanced at the neatly wrapped gift he had gotten for her. He was sure she’d love it… she used to always talk about wanting this…
Kaoru decided to head back home with his plunders. It was time to go back to (your name) and this time, he’s give her all the attention she wanted.
.
.
.
(Your name) lightly sung as she worked on another meal for her and Jack to enjoy by the river. A bright smile on her face as she imagined his gracious expression. Jack was always so happy whenever she came by to visit him. He was such wonderful company.
The door creaked open but (your name) paid it no mind. She figured it was just a servant.
At least not until the large form of Kaoru stood beside her.
“I’m back…” Kaoru muttered as he stood beside her, his obsidian eyes gazing at her expectantly. As if he was waiting for something.
(Your name) set the bowl down as she turned to look at him, the smile on her face gone. She didn’t understand what he wanted from her.
“Okay.” She replied before getting back to work, but Kaoru put his hand on the bowl.
“You… you didn’t send me any letters…” Kaoru whispered as he held the bowl down on the counter. “I… I was safe.”
(Your name) frowned at Kaoru’s behavior. The princess moving away from him. She didn’t understand why he was talking to her.
“Okay.” (Your name) replied again. She didn’t know what to say to him.
“I brought you something.” Kaoru told her as he went over to the door and grabbed a present. The dragon presenting her the gift with a soft expression.
(Your name)’s brow furrowed in confusion. Why would he bring her something? He’s never brought her anything before…
(Your name) slowly opened the gift before he eyes widened at the contents. This was… this was a gown she had wanted a few years ago… why would he give his to her?
“Do you like it?” Kaoru asked, his eyes hopeful as he trembled. It was as if his eyes were telling her, ‘look at me. Look at what I did. Look at me.’
“You didn’t have to get me this…” (your name) whispered as she covered the gift back up with the lid. She remembered how Kaoru had told her that she wouldn’t ever be able to wear something like that because it wasn’t like he was ever going to take her dancing. He convinced her it was a stupid want and now she didn’t have a desire to dance. “It’s impractical. I’m never going to go dancing until my coming of age.”
Kaoru felt his breath hitch at her words. How could he forget how he told her that she’d never be able to wear this dress… god he was awful.
“Well you can wear it.” Kaoru told her. “I… I could teach you how to dance-“ (Your name) shook her head and handed Kaoru back the gift.
“No. You have no desire for any kind of relationship with me, remember?” (Your name) sighed as she decided to abandon her cooking to get away from Kaoru.
Kaoru lunged forward and grabbed her shoulders, causing (your name) to gasp.
“I didn’t mean it…” Kaoru whispered as he held her in place. “Please… I didn’t mean it.”
Kaoru pulled (your name) into a hug as he buried his nose into her shoulder. The dragon sighing at her scent.
(Your name) pushed him back as she stepped away from him.
“I’m sorry. The damage is done… I don’t think I want to be near you. I’m sorry.” (Your name) then walks to her room. Kaoru standing there shocked.
She wasn’t supposed to reject him… she always loved him. Always. Why didn’t she love him anymore?
Kaoru made his way up the stairs to her room but he paused when he saw a notebook in the burn pile. His curiosity getting the better of him.
Kaoru’s clawed hand flips through the pages before his obsidian eyes widen in realization. This was her diary…
Kaoru took off to his room to go through the pages. His heart beating erratically in his chest when his eyes glimpses at how often his name was in here. He couldn’t wait to find out all the contents in this book…
Meanwhile, (your name) snuck out of the tower to go see Jack. The orc waiting for her by the river. The orc trying to hide something behind his back with a blush.
“Oh! You’re here!” Jack didn’t want to admit to her that he was counting the seconds. It wasn’t like him to be so impatient to see someone, let alone a girl. “I got you something.”
Jack presented (your name) the fur coat of a white tiger. He had been extremely careful not to completely destroy the animal, but he was able to keep most of it intact after his attack. He kept the meat for himself, but he carefully carved the pelt for (your name). It would be a perfect gift for her before it became cold… the pelt should keep her warm.
(Your name)’s eyes sparkled at the beautiful pelt. Her hands touching the soft fur in awe. It was beautiful…
“It’s so beautiful, Jack…” (your name) thanked Jack as she held the pelt in her arms. “I can’t believe you got this for me…”
Jack gave (your name) a toothy grin. He was proud she loved his gift. She deserved beautiful things.
(Your name) blushed as she held the pelt up to her body. The fur was warm and it smelled like Jack… his scent of musky and pine was so comforting to her.
Her relationship with Jack was starting to make her realize what love and care truly was. Perhaps she simply had a crush on Kaoru because those feelings were nowhere near the magnitude of what she felt for Jack. But she still had the wound of rejection, she was afraid to tell Jack how she felt…
Jack took in a deep breath as he observed her soft expression. He loved her… he loved her so much, it was scary.
“(Your name)?” The princess looked up, brown eyes meeting (eye color). Jack gulping down the lump in his throat before continuing. “I’m… I’m only half orc.”
(Your name) blinked as she glanced at Jack’s skin color. She had wondered why he had more of a human skin tone rather than the bright green she’s heard of orcs having, but she didn’t question it. Either way she didn’t care about something as minuscule as Jack’s race.
“That’s okay, Jack-“ Jack leaned his head on (your name)’s shoulder as he sighed.
“I was not born out of love… I was born out of conquest.” Jack softly told her as he wrapped his large arms around her. “I struggled to fit in with humans and orcs for years… I was a horrible monster for so long but I was so lonely…”
(Your name) frowned as Jack shared about himself, she patiently waited for him to continue sharing what he was comfortable with.
“I came to this forest to slay a dragon. To prove I was capable of defeating my father and taking over he orc hoard… but then I saw you.” Jack grabbed her shoulders and turned her upper body to face him. His honey colored eyes full of emotion. “I’m not trying to sound strange but… I’ve been watching you for a long time… how you were treated, rejected, and constant cast aside. I sympathized with you. I went through that as well all my life…”
“Jack…” (your name) held his cheeks in her hands as she smiled up at him. The orc leaning his scarred cheek into her right hand as he sighed dreamily. His eyes gazing into her with so much love, she thought she’d melt.
“I wanted you for months. I didn’t waste the opportunity to finally talk to you… I was so happy you talked to me and we’ve been seeing each other over these last few weeks.” Jack whispered, unsure if he should continue but with a nod from (your name), he felt more confident in proclaiming his feelings for her. “(Your name)? I’m in love with you.”
(Your name) felt her breath hitch when Jack pressed his chapped lips on her right wrist to give it a tender kiss. Her cheeks now a bright red as he stared longingly at her.
“I love you too…” (Your name) smiled up at Jack. It was the truth. In the two months she’s known Jack, he had shown her the love she had always desired. The kind she read about in story books… Jack was perfect. He may not be the picture description of the typical Prince Charming but he was charming in his own way.
Jack snakes his arms around her as he held her close. His forehead pressed against hers as he smiled brightly, his ivory tusks glistening in the sunlight.
“I’m so happy…” He had always lived a life of violence and anger… yet here he was finally embracing someone who cared about him. He no longer lived in the days of war and inflicting fear. He could finally be happy…
Jack pressed his chapped lips to the top of (your name)’s head. The two cuddling as (your name) smiled warmly at him.
And so began their secret relationship. (Your name) deciding she was going to run away with Jack instead of marrying a prince like she was supposed to.
It was just a shame Kaoru wasn’t going to let her go…
.
.
.
Later that night, Kaoru sat in his study flipping through (your name)’s diary. He has been reading through it all day…
Kaoru ran his clawed fingers through each page with love sick eyes. He had no idea how fond the princess was of him… how much she admired and cared about him. How could he be so blind?
(Your name) was the perfect little mate. Kaoru was sure he could find a witch or a wizard to be able to turn her into a dragon so she could be with him… just like she always wanted!
Kaoru made his way to his board of treasure. The dragon scooping through it excitedly as he began to pick out beautiful gifts to court her with. Some golden necklaces catching his eye.
Kaoru then made his way up to (your name)‘a tower with the necklaces in hand. His hand knocking at her door as he held the necklaces close to his chest.
“Who is it?” Kaoru smiled when he heard her soft voice from the other side of the door.
“It’s me…” Kaoru whispered back, the door slowly opening to reveal (your name) in her nightdress. The princess using a blanket to cover herself from his eyes.
“Oh. I wasn’t be loud or anything was I?” Kaoru frowns when she doesn’t look at him at all. Why wouldn’t she look at him? She loves him… so her eyes should always be on him.
“No… I have something for you.” Kaoru then held up the gold necklaces too (your name). The princess raising a brow at him. “I think you’d look lovely in gold…”
(Your name) tilted her head at Kaoru’s strange behavior. He never brought her gifts before… ever. So why was he trying to gift her things now?
“Oh… but where would I wear something that nice? I’m stuck in this tower for six more months…” Kaoru frowned at her subtle rejection before ultimately deciding to persist.
“You can wear them while here…” (Your name) stepped back when Kaoru pushed forward and entered the room. “Here, let me put them on for you.”
(Your name) sighed before sitting on her bed and using the blanket to cover up her body, except for her neck. Kaoru swinging the necklaces over her neck before clasping each one.
(Your name) shivered when his claws lightly brushed against the soft skin of her neck.
“You smell nice and your skin is so soft…” Kaoru whispered huskily in her ear as he turned her body to face the full body mirror in front of her bed. “And you look so beautiful in gold.”
(Your name)’s (eye color) eyes were wide at the sight before her. Kaoru’s large body sat behind her as he ran his claws through her hair. His nose pressed into the locks as he gave a few strands some kisses.
“Thank you.” (Your name) thanks him softly before gently pulling her hair away from him. She felt extremely uncomfortable. She was confused on why he was giving her so much attention suddenly.
Kaoru suddenly leaned forward and wrapped his large arms around her. Kaoru pulling her body to lean back on his as he purrs. (Your name) had no idea dragons could purr… it was a strange discovery.
“Why are you being so distant? Aren’t you happy?” Kaoru asks as he leans his head into the crook of her neck, his brow furrowing at the strange scent that was mixed with hers. Kaoru snapped his head away from her shoulder as his obsidian eyes flashed a bright ruby red for a second. This was a masculine scent… a monster scent. “Who were you with? Who?”
“Oh, I made a friend by the river…” (Your name) gulped when Kaoru’s eyes were now a bright red with thing black slits… the look on his face was terrifying… her body trembled as she tried to speak to him again. “His name is Jack-“
One of Kaoru’s hands swiped at one of the wooden bed posts on her bed. (Your name) screamed when the wood flew off and crashed into the wall from the force behind his swing. She covered his head as she trembled like a leaf. She could smell smoke…
(Your name) nervously glanced up at Kaoru who had smoke leaving his nose and his lips. He looked so angry… why was he angry?
Kaoru took in a deep breath before calming down. Kaoru pulled her close to his chest as he pressed a kiss to her head. “I’m sorry, dear. I didn’t mean to frighten you. I just got a little angry is all.”
(Your name) was as still as a stone as Kaoru caressed her. The dragon muttering her reassurances.
“I’ll get you a new bed frame and new bed posts… how about one of those canopy beds with the sheer curtains? Won’t that be lovely?” Kaoru offered her as he nuzzled her neck, making sure to rub his scent all over her.
(Your name) just trembled as she held the blankets close to herself. She didn’t know what was going on with Kaoru but she was afraid… she was so afraid…
.
.
.
(Your name) went down the tower to go out to see Jack, only to realize the door was melted… Someone welded the metal door completely shut… she couldn’t go out now.
(Your name) felt tears gather in her eyes as she tried the door. Only to sigh in frustration. The only ones who could get in and out of the tower now were the servants but that was because they were also dragons…
How was she going to see Jack now? How was she to let him know she was now truly trapped in his tower…
(Your name) went to go back up her tower and she ran into Kaoru. The dragon smiling softly at her as he held up some silk sheets in his hands.
“I got you that new bed. I’m going to get rid of all your blankets.” Kaoru then leaned forward and whispered in her ear. “Especially that fur. To smells disgusting-“
“Please don’t take the fur.” (Your name) grabbed Kaoru’s shirt. “Please not that… just let me keep that… please.”
Kaoru froze before sighing. It seems she grew some sort of attachment to that orc outside… nonetheless he must get rid of it.
Before Kaoru could speak, he felt (your name) hug him. His breath hitching at the gesture, his arms snaking around her waist to pull her closer to his body.
“I’ll do anything… please don’t.”
“Anything?” Kaoru felt dazed. Anything… she’d do anything for that sad little fur… “Then let me lay beside you tonight. I want to sleep in your bed with you.”
“…okay.” (Your name) whispered. Kaoru was so happy… he was so happy his little mate accepted him again. He’d never mistreat her again…
Now all he had to do was ask for her hand in marriage from her parents…
.
.
.
Kaoru was gone the rest of the day. He had flown off somewhere so (your name) used this time to try to figure out how to contact Jack.
The servants all left for the day but even then… Jack was too far away to hear her scream.
(Your name) felt a sob rack through her body. She felt hopeless… just like a damsel in distress…
“(Your name)?” (Your name) perked up at her name and ran to her balcony to see Jack. She waved her arms at him.
“Jack! Jack I’m here!” (Your name) felt tears fall down her face as she smiled. “Kaoru welded the door shut! I can’t get out!”
Jack furrowed his brows before walking around the tower. There wasn’t a way in besides that door and the windows that were high up… Jack was going to have to climb…
“I’ll figure a way to get you out! I promise.” Jack shouted up at her as he glanced up at the sky. “I think he’s coming back so I’ll have to plan a way to get you out safely! I’ll save you, I swear!”
Jack then dashed back into the forest before Kaoru saw him.
The large black dragon transforming back into Kaoru as he landed on her balcony. A smile on his face when he saw (Your name).
“Were you waiting for me? I made sure not to be gone for too long.” Kaoru wrapped his arms around (your name) as he sighed in contentment. His sweet little mate was waiting for him… he couldn’t wait to tell her the news…
(Your name) held him back a bit just to satiate him. She didn’t want to upset him in anyway…
Kaoru lead her into her room as he presented her some more gifts. This time she accepted them without hesitation. She didn’t want him to destroy her new bed…
“I paid your family a visit.” Kaoru whispered with a smile. “They’re not going to get you back now like they were supposed to.”
(Your name) freezes. This wasn’t the agreement… she was supposed to leave this tower in a few months and then runaway with Jack… why would the terms change?
“I burned down over half of that kingdom but they’re going to let me keep you.” Kaoru smiled as he placed his head into her shoulder and inhaled her scent. “You’re going to be my wife. Aren’t you happy?”
(Your name) felt her blood run cold. Kaoru wasn’t supposed to fall in love with her… he never cared about her before…
Kaoru played with her hair with a smile. (Your name)’s eyes wide in shock.
“We’ll love the rest of our days together. You’ll be my lifelong mate.” Kaoru explained softly. “I’m having Kizaki work on finding a witch or wizard who would be able to turn you into a dragon, just like you’ve always wanted.”
How did he know that she used to want to be a dragon to be with him? Unless… no…
“Kaoru… did you read my diary?” (Your name) whispered as Kaoru smiled at her.
“I did. You wrote about how much you care for me… how much you love me.” Kaoru took her hands in his. “How could I not be moved by your declarations and efforts? I swear I’ll never mistreat you again. From now on I’ll be the perfect mate. The perfect husband and provider.”
Kaoru pressed his forehead to hers. “I realized how important you were to me once you stopped your affection. You are my most valuable treasure, dear. I’ll treat you well, I swear.”
This had to be some sort of sick joke… Kaoru never wanted her before. Yet even she knew Kaoru doesn’t joke. He’s a very serious man.
Kaoru was obsessed with her and he was never going to let her go…
Dragons were extremely possessive of their treasure, after all.

tik tok tik tok
the clock was definitely mocking you. waiting patiently for aaron to arrived while you sat across from the woman that was about to listen to you about your marriage, divorce, family, and more.
she just smiles at you. soon enough you sigh in relief when aaron walks into the room.
you clears his throat as he sits right beside you. “sorry im late.”
“that’s okay. shall we get started?”
aaron hums. “what brings you two in today?
the two of you look at one another. aaron was the first one to speak. telling the doctor your story. it made you uneasy when she just nods and writes down the information.
“how does that make you feel mister hotchner? finding out you have three other children that you didn’t know about?”
“in the beginning i was livid. knowing that she took two years away from knowing my children. our children! it made me angry. but i realized i was just angry at myself. i did this to us. i ruined that relationship.”
“how do you feel yn?”
“i feel guilty. maybe if i just—maybe if i just stayed and listen to reason none of anything would have happened. i blame everything that happened in the last two years on myself. maybe then he wouldn’t have died.”
your biological father. aaron didn’t know you felt this way. you took all that blame. all that heartbreak that should have fallen on your dad. it wasn’t your fault. he needed you to know that this wasn’t your fault.
“darling, this isn’t your fault. none of this is on you. im sorry if i have ever made you feel like this was on you.”
“but you haven’t.”
“but i have though. ive been so short with you since you’ve been home. im not use to talking about how i feel.”
“why is that aaron?”
aaron turns to look at the doctor. he sighs. rubbing his hands onto his face.
“i would say it’s my job. that with what i do we always have to stay alert and keep how we personally feel aside. that may be the case but i think it’s deeper than that.”
“what do you mean?”
“growing up, my father, he wasn’t exactly a nice man. he would come home after working a case and he’d shut us down. verbally abusing us until we felt small and weak. he would call us that too if i recall. my mother was never really around. she didn’t really want children. my father was a traditional man though. marriage, kids, you name it. the physical abuse didn’t happen until he was sick. cancer. my mom would come back home just to take care of him. i assumed he felt emasculated. having his wife take care of him because he was getting weak by the day. so he took his anger out on sean and i. i took the most of it. not wanting my brother to suffer like that. if i showed any sighs of weakness while he hit me it’ll just make him angrier and hit harder. over time i became emotionless to his rage. that angered him ever more. over time he—he was too weak to hurt a fly. my mother continued to take care of him while i took care of my brother. over time my father died. we didn’t even have a proper funeral. just buried him next to my grandfather who beat him before because despite everything, that’s what he wanted. he still loved him. and in a way, i still loved my father. he was still my dad despite everything. but i showed no emotions. it’s not what he would have wanted. my brother on the other hand cried.”
“what about your mother?”
aaron scoffs. “she fell out of love with him the moment she married him. my father was known for cheating on my mom. she didn’t care much. she was different from my father. she grew up wealthy. only marrying my father because she got pregnant with me. her father forced them into marriage so she wouldn’t be labeled as the town whore and ruin their reputation. my father worked hard for his money. growing up lower middle class he had to. in a way my relationship with my mom was far worse than my father. at least my father showed some kind of affection. my mom was emotionless. only caring about her reputation and how she was perceived. i believe that’s why she took care of my father in the first place. instead of hiring someone to do it. so she could brag to her posh friends about how much of a great wife and mother she was.”
“is she still living today?”
aaron hums. “haven’t spoken to her since she met my late wife, haley. she didn’t like haley. never wanted me to marry her.”
“why’s that?”
“because—because she wasn’t as wealthy as us. she was middle class, haley. because of that my mother didn’t find her worthy. she didn’t want me to have a loveless marriage like hers. her words exactly. she doesn’t know a thing about my life. she doesn’t know about jack, haley’s passing, me getting remarried. nothing!”
“do you think she’d like yn?”
aaron avoid your eyes. he wanted to avoid the question altogether. he knew she wouldn’t. the why is what pissed him off and made him feel ashamed.
“aaron?”
he clears his throat. “no.”
“and why not?”
“because—my mom wasn’t racist. not in the sense you would think. she never called anyone who was of color a slur. but she was raised to believe that you should marry your own kind of people. that mixing up your ‘values’ with others would only confuse your children in the end.”
you had no idea aarons mother was that way. only knowing the details he explained about his father. he never talked about his mom. now you understand why.
“aaron, i had no idea. why didn’t you tell me?”
“because i felt ashamed. ashamed of having her as a mother.”
“you shouldn’t feel that way though aaron. she doesn’t speak for you or for our kids.”
aaron holds your hand.
“listening to you both and hearing your family history, i think it’s safe to say that you, yn, you have a hard time listening to others. you’re so afraid to find out the truth because it could potentially hurt you. it’s why you stopped talking to your siblings in the end. you knew they knew something about your father. it’s why you ran when your biological father told you the truth. and it’s why you left aaron. you were afraid if he came home that night and you pressed him on the issue he would admit his feelings for his ex wife and leave you. it’s why you left first. you didn’t wanna face the reality that the one good thing in your life for the longest time would end.”
you look at aaron. knowing what she was saying was absolutely true.
“and you aaron, you’re afraid of being yourself. showing any emotion is a sign of weakness all because of your father. you also don’t wanna end up like him. to raise your kids that way. it’s why you most likely teach them it’s okay to express themselves. showing them that having emotions and feelings is part of being human. you have this fear that your marriage could fail again and maybe your mother was right. maybe mixing classes and culture could ruin a marriage. but it makes you feel guilty. one of the reasons why you pushed your first marriage away and tried to push your second marriage away.”
aaron grabs your hand. he gently rubs it. feeling all kinds of guilt with what the doctor states.
“but neither of you are seeing the reality of it all. you both willingly came to therapy because you want to fix this marriage. you want this to work out. not only for the kids. but also for yourselves. i noticed that the moment the both of you spoke. have you ever stopped to notice you’re both still wearing your wedding bands? and you still call each other husband and wife, despite being divorced for the last few years? it’s because a piece of paper doesn’t determine your love for one another. you two are still married and have been even with the separation.”
the two of you look at one another lovingly. you loved each other. despite the past, the despite your childhood, despite the divorce, the drama! you loved him and he loved you.

I have three kinks for you to rate! (Was gonna be two, then thought a bit more…whoops!)
1. POV Gaining: Whether someone enjoys getting a glimpse at what their future might hold, or getting into perspective at just what a particular character deals with daily and how they see themselves, I think POV gaining’s pretty fun! Seeing how their belly slowly (or rapidly!) takes up their view, seeing their struggles and contrast, at huuuge sizes seeing the chins, cheeks even, the sweat, sandbag chest, jackets of arm-lard, and little else…and that’s not even mentioning what it’d look like while they dress, eat, or travel…imagine them in tiny car, being fed or at lunch, seeing them put on a shirt that seems to fit, but they can’t see how they spill out from behind, or the extra inch revealed as at the bottom…
2. Generational/Family Gaining: Pretty common trope with you ;) Seeing large families, similar in build or attitude, but a difference in height, definitely in weight, the contrast there, along with the ‘normalcy’ of becoming another bed bound family member in a very thick, very wide family tree…of course, this had to start somewhere, some lovely couple that loved a little too much, and brought that love into families for generations, and those traditions spread out to every single member, no one untouched by the genes, and only recursive, since no one’ll change them, hell, probably add another one!
3. Rapid Gaining: For you in particular, I mean it in the sense of rapid over time, in the way that someone might gain 50 pounds in a month, then 100 over half a month, 200 over a year, then skipping numbers and breaking three milestones of a broken couch, outgrown cars, and needing more than one seats traveling, all in the span of a week or weekend…
Alright, lemme see!
No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know |
I love playing with perspectives cause there's so much to write about on a topic like weight gain, and the way you describe it is SOOO good. I don't often find myself imagining POV scenarios cause Im more of a feeder than a feedee, but it's always fun to sometimes try to get into the eyes of a certain character and see how they live with such obesity through their view. I would actually love to implement that but it's hard to make POV art in such a way, but It always lives in a hidden corner of my mind
2. No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know |
LOOOVE dis one, you already know how it's pretty much the whole premise of my OC Anthony with the tradition of his family to get super fat. Biggest thing I love about weight gain is when it almost seems unavoidable and the environment they're in just pushes them to continue growing more obese, looooooove
3. No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know |
I know fast weight gain is a common kink, but unfortunately it's not my thing, whether it be instant weight gain or over the span of just some days, I don't really feel anything with it. The slow, realistic buildup and eventual spiraling weight over the span of months is much more my thing cause there's time to develop the consequences and changes in the life of the character because of it and I find that much more attractive than simply the physical growth of the character

im not sure if this is an okay request but family headcanons with rwby? like what kind of mother they are and how they treat their children and partner :)
Of course this is okay, it's really cute! I know I get a lot of NSFW requests, but wholesome ones are always welcome and highly appreciated!
----------
Team RWBY as Moms
Ruby Rose
Ruby is so sweet as a mom, she absolutely adores her family. No matter how many kids you have or their gender, she is gonna accept them with open arms
Being one of the top Huntresses means she is often out of the house in the mornings. But she always makes sure to come back right on time and call her familly if otherwise
Loves showing off Cresent Rose to the kids, and when they get old enough she lets them hold and try it out. If they want to be hunters/huntresses she is the first person to help them figure out a weapon
Does races with her kids, but always cheats and uses her semblance
Is decent at cooking, but really specializes in baking. Her cookies are to DIE for, your kids always try to sneak them at night (secretly you do too, don't tell Ruby)
Auntie Yang and her partner are always coming over, it's great! Everyone gets to catch up and the kids get to play, it's always a great time
Ruby always talks about how awesome Grandpa Qrow is, so clearly your kids look up to him. You often have to debunk a lot of the outlandish statements but it's cute nonetheless. Whenever he comes by it's always a big deal
Grandpa Tai tries so hard to be cool, it's often a joke in your household. He once tried to teach the kids to skateboard and fell flat on his face, giving himself a nosebleed
It's so sweet though! The kids always look forward to seeing him for a good laugh (plus he gives great hugs)
Ruby loves to barrage you guys with kisses
Weiss Schnee
Weiss never had a good childhood, fault being on both her parents. When she and her partner decided to have children, she swore to never make the same mistakes her parents did. She refuses to continue the cycle of abuse
Winter is always welcome to your house and always makes it to family events. She's still a bit cold but actually smiles when around you guys. Willow stays away a bit since she's still dealing with stuff, but makes an effort to occasionally visit. Jacques banned from even seeing any of you, and if he ever tries Weiss will threaten him with a restraining order
She always makes sure to go to all her kids events, no matter how disinterested she may be in the type of event. The excited look on their faces make it all worth it. Oh, and she's totally the mom to wave at her kids while they perform on stage
Can sometimes be strict when it comes to rules she has instated. No staying up too late, no staying out past curfew, stuff like that. She wants her kids safe!
Anytime she snaps at her kids or partner in frustration she immedietely stops and apologizes
Her dad is quite adamant about your kids having the Schnee Glyth semblance, but Weiss isn't worried about it. No matter what they have she isn't gonna love them any less
Has the BEST Birthday parties on the block, every kid wants to come! Tables lined with delicious food, tons of bounce houses, fun games, all the digs! Weiss also loves to use her summons to entertain the kids (They especially love the giant knight)
When the kids are at sleepovers and leave you two alone, you guys like to have mini date nights where you sip wine and talk. Weiss loves hearing about your day
Once the kids are put to bed she basically collapses on the couch with you and just lays there for a while in your arms
Blake Belladonna
Probably the most motherly of all of them. She had a great relationship with her parents and keeps a lot of her family traditions
Grandpa Ghira and Grandma Kali are very present. Ever since their grandkids were babies they were always very involved. Kali was most obvious about it, and likes to spoil her grandkids whenever possible. Ghira tries to be more aloof and calm about it, but you and Blake once caught him conked out on the couch with your sleeping kids in his arms
Very gentle with her kids and soft spoken. But when she gets angry you can hear the sharpness in her voice (that instantly shuts her family up)
If your kids runs away from you guys in public, Blake uses her weapon to yoink them and reel them back in
Uses her clones when they play games, she always wins at tag
Ever since they were babies, Blake likes to read books to her kids at bedtime. She reads a mixture of children's books and classic literature. It doesn't really matter what she reads, the soft sound of voice is the perfect lullaby
Teaches her children about Faunus issues and history very early on in life. It's important for them to know their history and culture
Always is ready with her phone to take photos and videos. She wants to capture all key moments your family experiences! Once a year she likes to have the family sit down and go through the collection
Sun likes to come by randomly and surprise you guys. Sometimes you'll be watching TV and hear a knock at your window. Blake reprimands him lightly, but it always ends up being a good time
Yang Xiao Long
Yang is the Cool Mom™️
She lets her kids dye their hair, get piercings, and tattoos. Of course the tattoos only when they get to an appropriate age, but it's not discouraged
Whenever the kids want piggyback rides she is happy to provide. If you have more than one kid she tries to carry them all at once
All the kids in the area adore her and loves to call her Auntie Yang
Definitely adores rough housing and play wrestling. She loves to teach simple moves and have contests (whenever she lets them win she gets really dramatic)
If they want to become hunters/huntresses, Yang is HAPPY to spar and train them! And if you want to join it makes a great family bonding activity
Does her kids' hair every day. Even if it's just a quick brush she loves to make sure they look their best
You own a grill that she loves to use. She likes to barbecue on weekends! Most of the time is fine it's just uh... she likes thing on the burnt side. Often you'll have to specifically tell her to not overcook everyone's meal
Loves to flirt and kiss you in front of the kids. Their cries of anguish and cringe is like music to her ears
Auntie Ruby and her partner are frequent guests in your house, they visit all the time. Whether it's to go to dinner or mini golf or just chill inside. It's also great for you all to catch up and the kids to hang out
Yang is the Cool Mom, Ruby is the Cool Aunt, and Qrow is the Cool Grandpa! Everytime Qrow comes to visit your kids practically tackle him. He always tells the best stories and sneaks your kids snacks and money
Tai tries to be the Cool Grandpa but kinda fails. He's sprained his ankle many a times trying to impress. Although they laugh, your kids absolutely adore when he comes around
There is no mention of Raven in the house. Yang refuses to bring that drama into her family life, she hasn't even approached her in general. But Yang doesn't care, she has everything she needs

Royal AU
heavy sigh LISTEN, this brainrot has taken over me so hard that I physically cant even make anything shiny au related(dragon!Price one) so pLEASE, lemme show u what this au is all about:
Tumblr media
an attempt at the emblem has been made, and honestly? im not gonna do any more of this bcuz god i suck at designs HAHAHSKDJHSAD
Tumblr media
some lore if you're interested:
so Raven is adopted by Vik, who was the previous Royal Guard for Price's dad, and because Vik doesnt have any son, he makes Raven to grow up as one
The general story is like this, Vik was also part of a society, Cobra who wanted to throw the kingdom into chaos, and so they plot a plan to assassinate Prince!Price, because they think another prince is more fitting to be the next king, however this ended up in an unfortunate turn of event where Vik killed the king instead of Prince!Price, so Price had to ascend the throne pretty early on
In other words, Vik also had other intention when he specifically trains Raven to be the next royal guard, since he wants Raven to get close to Price for her to kill him -> and this fact is disguised as a fact that "oh hey Raven you need to be a guy to continue this "FaMiLY tRaDitIoN"
okay, dialing back a lil, let's talk about the relationship between Price and Raven for a sec, they're childhood friends as mentioned.
Basically, young Prince!Price who likes to sneak out and hang out with the royal guard's "son", Raven, in secret of course
they often like to hang out in one of the sealed off room in the palace, to which they managed to find a way to enter it of course, so lets call this the "childhood room"
expanding on the lore, when they both grow up they start hanging out lesser due to their respective roles and duties. Keep in mind, all these time Price thought Raven was a dude, until "event" happened of course
so what's this "event" you ask?
basically, around the time when Price was announced to be the next heir to the throne, he decided to take a break from his work and visit the childhood room, it has always been a safe haven for him. Just before he wants to leave though, an injured and soon to be Royal Guard Raven stumbles into the room(she cant go to the infirmary in risk of being exposed), with one hand around her abdomen area
Price decided to stay quiet and observe, he hasnt seen "him" in such a long time afterall, and thats when he saw Raven wearing a binder underneath all the armour as she wrapped a bandage around her abdomen, which reveals her gender after all this time
so technically, Price knows Raven's true identity since early on, but never commented on it, but it definitely does throw him off for...several reasons :]
anyways....idk how else to expand this but i do have a general idea, maybe something about Vik forcing Raven to kill Price in one of the events, but she retaliates instead, and as a result she tries to off herself since she has been lying to Price the entire time, insert angst and more angst, then idk timeskip to Price finding out Raven's real real identity ((because keep in mind, Raven's adopted, not blood related to Vik)) is a forgotten Princess or sum, and then they get married and live happily ever after((LET ME BE DELULU))
but yeeeeeeeeeee XDDD thats about it

Your semester was finally over.
Exams were finished.
Assignments were finished.
Buying groceries for yourself and attending weekly class were finished.
Until next semester came around, anyways. But that didn’t cross your mind when you wheeled your luggage up the snowy driveway of your house and to the front door where you knocked.
You were glad for a white Christmas, though your tremulous drive back begged to differ.
But nevermind that.
The front door of your house was pulled open and a gust of warm air from inside laced with the palatable scent of homemade dinner embraced you.
Nevermind any of it.
Your mother pulled you into a hug and your father took your luggage up to your bedroom.
For the next few weeks, you could forget about anything that didn’t have to do with the holidays and spend every day of it precisely how you wanted to, schedules and deadlines finally be damned.
There were a few things that had changed around the house since the last time you visited, including a strangely-decorated Christmas tree in the corner of your living room that your father had obviously decorated on his own without listening to any of your mother’s input.
You spent the next forty minutes in your bedroom unpacking in time for dinner downstairs with your parents. Perhaps if you had known there’d be guests, you would’ve changed out of your casual jeans and hoodie.
It was only until you stepped foot downstairs in the living room when you reconsidered your attire. But just then, a family of four came into view- a tall finely-dressed man and who you assumed to be his wife turning to look at you.
“This is our daughter, Y/N,” your mother introduced, stepping over to you and wrapping an arm around your shoulders. She mused, “She came home not more than an hour ago.” Her face turned to you with a proud smile.
“It’s nice to finally meet you,” the tall man greeted, extending a hand that you shook. “I’m Vision, and this is my wife Wanda. We’re your neighbour across the street.”
Your eyes moved from him to the woman beside him dressed in a wine red turtleneck and black slacks. Her dark brown hair streaked with shades of blonde was curled up to above her shoulders. She, contradictory to you, was dressed in the spirit of a formal dinner.
You wondered if it had become a tradition for your parents to dine with them since the last you’d visited. It made you feel particularly casted off from your own home as you knew little of who the family standing in the middle of your parents’ living room was.
“We’ve heard much about you, Y/N,” Wanda commented. Her voice was even-tempered and soothingly soft. “We’re glad you could make it home for the holidays as your mother and father have told us how demanding your program is.” You found you could do nothing but nod in understanding, a considerate smile on your lips.
She continued, “These are our twins, Tommy and Billy. Say hello, boys.” The two children, dressed as formally as their parents were, waved at you. One was holding his mother’s hand and they both shone polite smiles at you with the intention of being friendly.
You waved back at them with your own smile that you hoped looked as welcoming as you intended. It’d been awhile since your street had any children.
“Shall we take this into the dining room?” your dad spoke suddenly, outreaching his hands to take the casserole in Vision’s. With a nod, the dish was exchanged between the two men. The twins trailed behind your father as your mother began a conversation with Vision.
Wanda was standing beside you before you realised she had held herself back a moment to be able to walk with you. A warm smile was directed at you when you looked over at her, eliciting the first sincere upwards tug of your lips since you arrived downstairs.
Her arms were pulled forwards by Tommy and Billy and she followed their excited lead over to the adjacent side of the table where the rest of her family’s seats separated you from her side.
Your mother began serving the plates, asking neither of the guests of their preferred amount of portions other than you. Had it really been so long since you were last home?
When you looked up from the mashed sweet potatoes, curious green eyes caught your attention- it was Wanda’s, staring across the table and at your face. Not anywhere particularly, but rather running down the way your hair tucked behind your ear or the curves of your lips as you told your mother you didn’t want any cranberry sauce.
Her eyes left you once yours found hers. It was almost a bit strange, certainly, but you dismissed it as curiosity.
“Wanda is a member of the church here, Y/N,” your dad said as he poured you a glass of ginger ale.
“Wow,” you responded, looking up from your plate in front of you to nod at her in indication of a peaked interest.
Your mother continued, “She’s a choir leader. Three, sometimes four days a week, she’s volunteering for services at the church around the block. She’s really quite talented. Composed a number of pieces herself.”
Wanda said with a sheepish smile and a flick of her wrist, “She doesn’t want to hear about that, do you, Y/N?” Her eyes were on you again, but with more intention when she maintained eye contact that time.
You cut a piece of casserole from your serving and shrugged, looking back up to Wanda, then around the table to your mother. “I wouldn’t mind hearing about it,” you answered and took a bite from the portion you had scooped onto your fork.
Wanda’s eyes seemed to follow the direction of your fork that moved past your lips, then maintained focus as she watched you chew.
Vision and your father started up a conversation which called for everyone’s attention at the table with their central positions between everyone. Perhaps you’d seen it wrong, but it took Wanda a few moments for her to direct her attention from you, even when her husband moved onto another topic.
Finally, once Tommy’s exceptional grades were brought up in his physical education class, Wanda focused her attention on him and away from you, running her hand down her son’s arm admirably. She did the same for Billy when she mentioned his joining of the school’s soccer team.
After about an hour and a half of listening to yours and Vision’s family’s conversations with the occasional input from your end, you were washing dishes in the kitchen while everyone conversed in the living room. You were relieved to have some time to yourself. Dinner with guests took you for a bit of a surprise.
“Is it alright if I put these here?” a soft familiar voice asked from behind you. Wanda came into view as she rounded you to the sink holding three empty wine glasses.
Though you did enjoy meeting her.
“That’s fine,” you answered her and went back to rinsing a soapy plate. She placed the wine glasses on the counter beside the sink.
You expected for her to leave the kitchen as silently as she had come, but she leaned against the kitchen counter and your eyes flickered over to her.
“Did you enjoy dinner?”
You nodded. “I did enjoy it. It’s been a while since I’ve had a big home cooked meal like that.” She said something about agreeing to have enjoyed dinner in response.
“Did you like the casserole?”
Restraining the confused furrowing of your eyebrows that you felt beginning to tug onto your expression at Wanda’s question, you simply nodded again. “It was good. I thought the chicken was really great,” you told her, recalling the meal in detail.
“Did you make it?” you asked, looking over to her when you took a wine glass from the counter and began washing it.
Looking pleased that you suggested it, Wanda responded, “I did. The secret to it is a few pinches of paprikash in the marinade while the chicken sits the night before.”
You could hold back the amused smile that formed on your face as you listened to her sudden commentary on cooking. “That’s cool,” you replied with a nod. “Yeah, it was great. Do you and your family often come over for dinner?”
“Not very often. Most Saturdays and some weekdays if we can.”
“So, you’re close to my parents?”
“We are,” she said, almost hesitantly. “They were very kind to us when we first moved in.”
You nodded again and ran a soapy sponge through the inside of the final glass.
The older woman played with her wedding ring between her forefinger and the pad of her thumb. The moment her lips parted, Vision stepped into the kitchen.
“Wanda, the boys are ready to head home,” he told her. Wanda straightened. She answered him with a silent nod before looking back over to you.
Turning the sink off and drying your hands on a dishcloth, you said, “It was nice meeting the two of you, and Tommy and Billy.”
Vision smiled at you from across the kitchen, then raised an arm to beckon his wife over. Wanda looked back at you over her shoulder and you caught a glimpse of the soft curve of her red lips before she was at her husband’s side.
You joined your parents in time to wave goodbye to the twins as they walked across the street to their housr, Wanda and Vision holding a hand of each child. They were a conventional-looking family, the dark-haired wife bundled up in her jacket with a scarf and pair of gloves while her husband wore a sandy woollen trench coat. Their sons were squeezed between them as they waved back at your parents before their front door shut.
Guilt settled in the base of your stomach as you headed upstairs to your bedroom after bidding a goodnight to your parents. The curiosity of your neighbour’s eyes, the awkward twirling of her fingers as she approached you after dinner.
Had she wanted to get to know you?
There was warm familiarity in having everything placed as they normally were now that you were back home. Settling under your mounds of blankets while scrolling through your phone was a comfort as you no longer had anything weighing you down now that winter break had started. But the guilt of having overlooked Wanda gnawed at you still.
It didn’t matter all too much, did it? You were neighbours and you’d see each other around- plenty of time to make up for how you disregarded Wanda’s attempts at conversing with you. The two of you would likely not end up being any more than cordial neighbours with the differences that lay between you, but Wanda had been kind enough earlier that night and the least you could do was repay her for it.
You padded downstairs in the late afternoon, freshly out of bed after you heard the doorbell ring. You recalled amidst your sleepy daze that your parents were at work which forced you to drag yourself out of bed and open the front door.
Soft hair topped with a knitted-hat, rosy cheeks, and a familiar red scarf from last night greeted you once you opened the front door. The brisk winter air bit at your body half-dressed in a loose shirt and shorts, making you realise you were standing in front of your neighbour who had evidently gotten herself dressed up to visit your house.
Wanda’s soft smile dissipated into furrowed eyebrows and a concerned downwards curve of her lips. “Have I come at a bad time?” she asked you, the deep white dish in her mitten-clad hands lowering.
“Oh, no, no, no,” you blabbered and raised your hands to your hair, pushing it back behind your ears in an attempt to look presentable. “No, it’s not a bad time. But my parents aren’t home if that’s who you’re looking to talk with.”
“I was actually hoping to talk with you,” Wanda said. Something laid behind her words, though you could not decipher if it was due to the cold or some sudden onset of nerves. Blank and perhaps unfriendly confusion must have unintentionally come over your features for Wanda looked down at the dish in her hands, eyes flickering away from anywhere but yours. “But I understand if I’ve come at a bad time. I made brownies for you and your parents, so if you’d prefer I can just drop it off.”
Something opportunistic bloomed within you, a chance to make up for last night, and you stepped back into the house. “No, please, Wanda, come in,” you told her and gestured your arm back in a short sweeping motion, implying for her to step inside with you.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to overstep.”
“You’re not overstepping, I promise. I’ll take this from you so you can hang your things up.”
Finally, Wanda entered the front foyer and held the warm dish out which you took. While you brought the deep dish of brownies into the kitchen, you heard rustling behind you as Wanda hung her jacket up and placed her boots on the mat.
“Did I wake you?” Wanda inquired as she walked through the living room and into the kitchen behind you.
You lied, “I was laying around doing nothing productive upstairs before you came.”
“I’m glad. I hoped I didn’t bother you,” she expressed relief.
“Do you want to have some of this now? I can cut it up for both of us.”
“If you don’t mind.”
“Not at all.”
Soft clinking of plates and forks sounded through the kitchen as you wondered what Wanda might be doing there. She took a seat at the small kitchen table in front of the oven, her movements almost completely silent if not for the squeaking of the chair’s foot against the floor.
After you turned and placed a plate with a brownie slice on each side of the table, you poured two glasses of water across from each plate.
“Thank you,” Wanda said and lifted her fork between the pad of her thumb and the side of her middle finger. Her wedding ring reflected the winter sunlight from beyond the kitchen window. A singular prong from her fork pressed into the decadent-looking brownie before she spoke again, looking up from her plate to you. “Y/N, if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask you a question. I’ve been a bit curious about you.”
“Curious?” you repeated, looking up at her too.
With a nod, Wanda hummed in confirmation before asking, “You attend school so far from home. Don’t you feel… worried? About the distance from your parents and your hometown.”
“I suppose I do sometimes,” you pondered aloud. “I think most students who study away from home feel a bit awry about living so far.” In silent understanding, Wanda nodded and sliced a small portion of the warm brownie onto her fork. “Why do you ask?” you asked her.
“Your parents mention you often,” Wanda mentioned and looked up to you. “It reminds me of when I was around your age, I was quite interested in pursuing studying abroad. I was curious about whether you enjoyed it.”
You took a bite of the warm brownie to give yourself a few moments to think. “I’m only a few hours away, but I do enjoy it,” you answered finally. “You didn’t end up studying abroad?”
Wanda’s fork clinked against her plate. “No, I could’ve never done something like that,” she said. “My upbringing was extremely religious. I didn’t end up studying Orthodox Catholicism in the detail that my mother had hoped, but I was able to take a few English classes throughout my time at school which I loved very much. I adored Shakespeare.”
Orthodox Catholicism, was that right?
You wondered about Wanda’s personal beliefs, the opinions she might reserve about you should the two of you have any conversation past than the cordial neighbourly discussion. You didn’t press her about religion.
There was much she told you that you didn’t expect from her. She was first a dedicated churchgoing housewife then a lover of classic English poets.
A few slightly awkward moments passed as the two of you forked bites of Wanda’s brownies into your mouths between sips of cold water.
“Do you bake often?” you found yourself asking suddenly. When your eyes were laid on Wanda’s face, she did not look as uneasy in the silence between the two of you as you initially imagined she would.
Wanda answered, “I do when I have the spare time. For lunch after church services I attend, I sometimes bring over a few dishes of mine.”
“I’m sure your family loves them. You’re a talented cook.”
Green eyes watched intently as you took a drink from your glass, and Wanda smiled. “Thank you,” she said, sounding sincerely grateful for your compliment. “I hope I’m not making you feel uncomfortable, Y/N, I was just so eager to get to know you.”
The more you got to know Wanda, the cautious housewife with an impulse to please that volunteered at the church a few blocks away, the more you untensed around her. “I don’t feel uncomfortable at all. I’m really glad to get to know you a little too,” you reassured her. And you really did begin to enjoy being in her company.
Laughs came from her much easier as time passed in the kitchen together, then divulgences about her family life and congregation were shared with you as you sat together on the living room couch.
After an abrupt ringing of her phone, her husband calling her to ask if she could pick the twins up from school instead of himself, Wanda stood from the couch with you. But before she stepped into her boots, she asked with a coy tone of voice, “Would you mind if I used your washroom for a moment before I left?”
“Of course, it’s no problem. There’s a bit of an issue with the sink in the washroom here, so you’d have to use the one upstairs. Do you know where it is?”
Wanda confirmed that she did, and with her jacket on, she ascended the stairs up onto the second floor of the house. Her steps were barely audible as she walked across the floor and to the washroom across from the staircase upstairs.
While you carefully covered up your neighbour’s homemade brownies and placed them in the fridge for your parents to try once they came back from work, the woman you only just began to know as an unassuming harmless housewife sorted through your bedroom.
Nimble fingers pulled open your dressers’ cabinets then your wardrobe. She tucked pairs of underwear you owned into her jacket pockets that she adored as she sorted through them. She took photos of your perfumes and shampoo, the pills that belonged to you behind the washroom mirror. She looked over photos of you and your friends that decorate your desk and small areas of your walls, flipped through your notebooks and ran her eyes down your handwriting.
Leaving everything as it had been before she slipped into your bedroom, Wanda silently closed your door and with the washroom door open upstairs, she ran the sink for a few moments as she looked through the photos she took of your bedroom.
She joined you back downstairs after an appropriate amount of time, a soft smile on her bare pink lips. You were sitting on the couch scrolling through your phone when you looked up at her.
“Thank you,” Wanda said and wrapped her scarf around herself, then her woollen hat onto her head next.
You arose from the couch and opened the front door for her. “It was nice meeting with you,” you admitted as Wanda stepped into her boots and swung her purse around her shoulder.
“Likewise, Y/N. Thank you for making time for me,” she replied, moving past you to stand on your front porch. “See you soon.”
With a polite wave and a smile that crinkled the corners of her eyes, Wanda stepped off of your porch and headed across the street back to her house.
As you shut the front door and went back upstairs to the comfort of your bedroom, the warm feeling of appreciation for growing so close to your friendly neighbour veiled any possible suspicion that Wanda had been in your room.
You did not fall back asleep once you buried yourself back in your mounds of blankets and pillows, but instead scrolled through the internet on anything about Wanda Maximoff.
Photos of polite proud smiles surrounded her at her old church came up, then articles with her name mentioned because of her community volunteering contributions, and a Facebook profile hardly used besides a few published photos of her family and a profile picture from a time where Wanda’s hair was shorter and blonder than it presently was.
It was later in the evening when you wished to let Wanda know that your parents loved the dessert she made that you realised you didn’t have her number nor did she have yours.
Wanda’s family did not come over for dinner that night.
You took special care in washing her empty dish clean- the best one could do cleaning a dish for confections.
Twinges of embarrassment ran through you as you envisioned yourself through another’s perspective, making a fuss over a dish as an excuse to see your neighbour. You convinced yourself it’s what all cordial neighbours would do.
With that, you shut the kitchen light off and went to bed internally conjuring up every phrase you’d bring up to Wanda later that next morning.
Deciding to keep up good impressions, you woke up earlier that morning around nine. Dressed up for the visit across the street, you walked over to Wanda’s house.
It was a nice morning. It wasn’t actively snowing, but glistening white blankets covered the sidewalks and the street’s roofs. The sun was beaming down on you, enough to warm the tip of your nose yet maintain the brisk chill of winter.
With the dish balanced in one hand, you knocked on Wanda’s front door. You could see the warm gold and red outline of a Christmas tree past the living room’s partially opaque curtains and a variety of plants that decorated the windowsill.
The front door opened and your neighbour appeared dressed in a tan dress and sheer black latex tights. She seemed to be ready to head out.
“Y/N,” Wanda breathed your name out, a smile on her red lips. “Hello.”
You answered, tempted to look past her and into the warm ornate Christmas decorations in her house, “Hi. I wanted to return your dish. My parents really liked it. They told me to thank you.”
“Oh, yes,” Wanda said, looking down at the dish in your hands. “Come in. I’m happy you all enjoyed the dessert.” She closed the door behind you and a wave of deja-vu came over you as you recalled yesterday afternoon.
The subtle scent of homemade treats and cinnamon enveloped you as you stepped into the warm home.
Wanda lifted an earring from her palm and turned to look into the small mirror beside the door. “I’m just getting ready for mass. Vision is at work and the boys are at school. Do you have any place to be?”
She looked over at you from the mirror once both gold stud earrings were put on.
“No, nothing planned for today,” you replied finally.
Wanda took her dish from your hands carefully and headed into her kitchen. She offered, her voice echoing through the hallways to you still standing in front of the door, “Then would you like to accompany me to church? I’m not volunteering this morning- just attending the service.”
“Would it be okay? I don’t think I’ve ever been to your church although I’ve lived so close for a while.”
You heard a small amused laugh from Wanda in the kitchen. “Of course. The church is open to all- newcomers and old,” she answered.
You bristled at that terminology.
Newcomer.
Even if you accepted her offer, you didn’t anticipate being a regular attendant.
Wanda returned to the living room with her purse slung over her shoulder and a winter coat on. She leaned down beside you to slip a pair of heeled Oxfords. “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalm…” she recalled the Bible verse, “hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
When she straightened, she was smiling over at you. “Attending mass is always a pleasure for me. I would like to extend that joy to you. But it is your choice. You don’t have to come.”
Though she gave you every opportunity to deny her, to turn away and say that you would rather occupy your day doing something else, you found it difficult to envision any sort of dejection as you peered at her curious green eyes through her rimless glasses.
Without a moment’s thought, you answered, “I’d love to go.”
Your neighbour’s smile upturned into a grin and she nodded once. “Perfect. I was planning on walking as Vision has the car. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I have my car parked in the garage, I could drive us both there,” you offered immediately, stepping back to allow Wanda to open her front door and step out onto her porch with you.
With a cheerful chirp and a beaming smile, Wanda spoke, “Sounds like a plan.” After locking the door behind her, she hooked an arm around yours and the two of you crossed the road together. You helped Wanda into the passenger's seat and then slid into your own.
On the way there, Wanda discussed more of her religious upbringing with you once you asked her about her passions. You worried you were imposing yourself too harshly on someone you had only just begun to know, but curiosity got the best of you.
Wanda Maximoff was a traditional churchgoing housewife with two children and a perfect marriage. She baked for your family and offered to take you to one of her church’s masses. She was perhaps the kindest woman you’d ever known.
How could you stand to reserve your questions about her personal alignments any longer?
Fortunately, Wanda seemed open to sharing with you what you were curious about. Her mom was, alike to her, a hardworking stay-at-home mother who tended to her and her twin brother in their childhood. Her father was a tireless man who worked every hour possible to earn for his family. It seemed the differences between her families was generational, wherein family dynamics and generational wealth shifted somewhat since Wanda last lived under her parents’ roof.
Through schooling and religious camps, she met her husband at the age of nineteen. He was her summer camp counsellor who was nearly seven years her senior.
Her parents loved Vision, a well-mannered man with priorities set well into the future and capable of supporting a family of three- perhaps even up to two more members if they ever wished to grow. They settled down when Wanda was twenty-two.
Now at thirty-three, Wanda was still happily married with two twin boys in a quiet neighbourhood wherein she had a high standing at her local church and general community.
As a college student yourself, her feats were daunting but impressive all the same. Wanda was an amazing woman.
Thus, the number of well wishes and brief conversations Wanda partook in as the two of you walked from the church’s parking lot to the building’s vast front doors did not come as a surprise to you.
Though it had struck you as odd as you noticed how adverse Wanda was to introducing you to members from church and her other community friends.
Unless any of them mentioned you as you stood right beside her, she wouldn’t mention you at all. Even the most obvious of referrals to you, eye contact made or a nod in your direction, would be ignored. If it wasn’t the most explicit of mentions of your being there, Wanda would squeeze her arm around yours and walk ahead with you.
Wanda would introduce you along the lines of, ‘This is my neighbour, Y/N. She’s come to spend the holidays at home.’
‘How kind of her to come attend mass with you,’ they would say.
Wanda would nod politely, though uncharacteristically without any further remarks. Even compliments on her choir sessions and composed songs which Wanda would typically flush at and dismiss as overt flattery were responded to with unadorned expressions of gratitude.
Finally, the two of you took a seat at the front pews, Wanda’s hand on your hip.
“Come sit close to me, Y/N,” she told you, hushed. “We don’t want to get separated.”
With your head ducked and your chin tucked close to your chest, you whispered, “Do we have to sit so close to the front? There are some seats at the back.”
“We must sit up front and pray as such. Settle here with me. I will show you how to worship.” She took your hand and led you down into the pew.
You sat down beside her, shuffling right and left in accordance with the rest of the church’s members also taking their respective seats on the same pew as you and Wanda. But with a hand on your knee, she kept you close.
Wanda kept a watchful eye on those around the two of you as if hoping to me keenly observant of something. Then, the priest, dressed in his black alb that nearly reached the floors, created an illusion that he was gliding across the front of the church. He reached the front, by the podium and its microphone, and exchanged a few silent greetings with those sitting at the front pews.
In response to a small wave from him, Wanda nodded cordially at the priest.
Wanda slipped her jacket off. It pooled by her hips and she placed her purse between her hip and yours. You did the same with your jacket.
The church’s service progressed, a series of kneeling and standing, hands clasped together and chins tipped upwards. You listened to Wanda sing along with the church hymns while you followed from a songbook.
The mass sang a handful of Christmas songs and you were amused as you listened to Wanda sing.
She did have a nice voice. It was soothing and demurely sweet.
You should’ve expected it, but you were stunned all the same. She was a model woman, a model Catholic, a model wife and human being. You looked away from her then, at the realisation of her sterling magnificence.
Suddenly, as if she had been aware of the way you stared at her throughout the entire service and was attuned to every shift of your focus, Wanda looked down her shoulder at you, who was slumped slightly down onto the pew’s kneeler.
“Y/N…” Wanda whispered, eliciting your attention back up to her. “Are you paying attention?”
You nodded, correcting your posture to kneel as Wanda was.
“But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed,” the priest continued to read from the Bible perched up on the pedestal. “Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
Gentle flipping of the thin pages echoed through the church’s speakers and he continued, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
“Will we be seeing you next mass, Ms Maximoff?” the priest asked by the exits of the church once the service came to an end.
You stood beside Wanda, awkwardly, averting your eyes from those that passed you who peered at you curiously, an unfamiliar face standing beside perhaps the most well-known member of the church.
“Are you alright?” a voice suddenly cooed.
You looked up from the ornately tiled floor to the woman beside you- Wanda, looking over you with a curious gaze. You managed a nod, perhaps one that was at least almost convincing.
But Wanda looked at you for several moments more.
She bid a farewell to the priest and hooked her arm around yours. Then, wordlessly, the two of you walked past the opposite flow of people walking by the two of you.
You rounded a corner together, revealing an empty hallway that led to a closed room at its end. Moving forward, Wanda turned the knob and allowed the two of you in.
A silent room enveloped you, the colourful stained windows reflecting a soft myriad of colours into the four-walled room. Smaller, then, the two of you moved forward, to what appeared to be a wide wooden closet.
Wanda unhooked a latch, pulling the door open and stepping into the confessional booth. She tugged you towards her then closed the same wooden door, confining the two of you to the right wooden box.
You could hear your heartbeat in your ears, you could feel it in your fingertips.
Your breath hitched and Wanda placed her hands on your hips, stepping forward into the tight booth and removing any space from you.
“Y/N…” she whispered, her voice a fragile gust of warm breath. “The prodigal daughter, how terribly I’ve fantasised of you. You are all I’ve ever hoped for myself.”
Her hand found your cheek, fingers fondling your soft skin and running her nails down to your chin gently. “So brave and kind,” she continued. “So smart. And pretty.” Her cheek pressed against yours, her lips ghosting against the lobe of your ear.
“Wanda…” you muttered, turning your head and disconnecting your cheek from her own. But she moved closer again.
“Trapped in a marriage like mine, a studious child then an ever-dedicated wife and mother. Never having any other path, Y/N. You…” Wanda pulled away from you to look into your eyes. “I admire you.”
One of her legs moved past yours so Wanda could turn your body and push you downwards onto the seat of the confessional. Her dress hiked up her satin-covered thighs as she sat herself down on your lap, her purse and jacket a forgotten mess on the floor of the booth.
“Only a moment passed after your mother firstly told me about you- her bright daughter studying the program of her choice in a campus hours away- and it was only that very moment it took for me to become taken by you,” Wanda recalled.
She placed both hands on either side of your face, making you look up at her. “You lied to me when I woke you up that afternoon. You’re so considerate of an old woman like me.”
Her words were a nonsensical score as she spoke, “Everything I’ve ever done- planned, written out, premeditated. Otherwise engaged. Unfulfilled.”
She took her glasses off and placed them by the edge of the seat.
All you could hear in the confines of what was nothing to you but a wooden closet was the racing of your heartbeat and the hasty inhales and exhales of your shaky breaths.
Nevertheless, Wanda continued. Her hips began moving down against your lap. Her thumbs stroked your cheekbones in what felt like admiration.
“But Y/N… you were so sudden. I don’t want to wait- don’t want to pretend I’m not counting down the moments until you shove a hand up my dress and run your fingers through my wet cunt.”
Your eyes widened and you bucked upwards in a sudden panicked realisation of Wanda’s intentions, which only elicited a small whimper from the older woman. You watched as her thighs spread apart further, allowing your lap increased access to the clothed pulse of her desire.
“You’re married to Vision, and-and with Tommy and Billy…” You fumbled your words as you racked through the logistics in your mind, “And you’re my neighbour. You’re a friend of my parents.”
“You’re making excuses,” Wanda reprimanded. Her grip on your face became tighter, ever so slightly so the tips of her fingers pressed into the hollow areas beside the corners of your jaw. “What’s next? I’m too old for you? Not pretty enough? Maybe I’m not tight enough for a young girl like you?”
Her head tipped to the side inquisitively. Her eyes were solemn, though you couldn’t tell whether it was from a sincere feeling of dejection or not.
“No!” you protested with a fervent shake of your head. “Wanda, you’re-”
“Unappealing, then. I don’t attract you.”
Her eyes were sharp, piercing through your skull as if to interrogate you.
You blinked up at her, simultaneously bewildered and intrigued at the woman perched up above you. Had a potency like this only been slumbering beyond her unassuming smiles since you’d first met her?
Further, your mind wandered, curious about this angle of her and where her thoughts and feelings had hidden before now.
“I think you’re beautiful,” you admitted. “I really do.”
A pleased smile came over your neighbour, gracing her features and bringing with it the delicate expression you thought you had known. “Then? What limits you now, from indulging in what you want?”
You answered, simply, perhaps simply enough for her to become enraged at your response, “Matrimony.” But Wanda did not become angry. She laughed.
“Suddenly the virtues of the Lord concern you?” she questioned, her eyebrows furrowing together in a strange upwards curl. You didn’t respond right away, for you had nothing to say, nothing to supplement your sudden hesitation.
Wanda’s hands untensed from your face and she tipped your head upwards, supportively. Coaxingly. “Though I can’t say I’m surprised,” she whispered, though there was no need to veil either of your volumes in the enclosed room you were in.
In Wanda’s eyes, you were free, untouched by the manacles of a stubborn future and all its entails. And conversely, you were still restrained by your morality.
You were there, hanging from the precipice of indulgence and convention.
Wanda stroked your cheek with the back of her knuckles. Who would be more worthy to teach you the ways of the Lord than her?
“I’ve thought it through,” she said. “This is why I’ve brought us here. A booth of confessions and an absolute absolve of sin- anything unholy and unfaithful. Nothing is sinful in the house of Christ. My Y/N, anything we shall do here is our own. The Lord will forgive me. He will forgive us.”
Then, in a shaky exhale, Wanda spoke, “Take me as your own, Y/N.”
Your lips parted and you looked up at her in shock.
One hand detached from the side of your head and Wanda took your wrist with her hand. Then in a swiftly-led sleight of hand, your palm was pressed against her breast. With her fingers placed behind each of your own, she made you squeeze the malleable swell beyond her dress. Her head lolled back, the smooth plain of her neck and expanse of her throat becoming exposed to you.
“All yours,” Wanda sighed. Her head moved forward and she met your eyes again, though her body was arched backwards so she could roll the space between her thighs against your lap. “I will give you my body, my vessel and my blessed spirit. Oh, Y/N, take me, please.”
A small space formed in the centre of your lips when they parted in attempts to protest. But Wanda was faster.
She pulled herself forward and her chest slammed against your own, your warm breaths mingling within the mere inches between your faces in a sharp exhale at the impact. “Please,” she pried once more. The tip of her nose brushed against yours. “I want you.”
A sharp gasp escaped from beyond Wanda’s now faded red lips when your hands met her hips and you pushed her off of your lap. Initially, she slipped backwards, but your arms rounded her waist and you pulled her to the opposite side of the bench within the limited space you had in the booth.
“Y/N-”
You stood from your seat and slid a knee between both of Wanda’s. With a nudge, you parted her thighs and leaned down to capture her lips with your own.
It was a harsh action, for Wanda winced and she pulled away at the taste of blood. Your fingers wrapped around the back of her neck and prevented her from moving away. Painfully, lips pressed against the clashing of teeth.
Still, perhaps out of instinct or an intrinsic desire to be tamed, Wanda reached up and pushed at your shoulders.
Your hand reached down and pulled her dress up her thighs so they wrapped around her waist. The hem of her dress scraped against her skin as you did, and although her upper thighs were clothed by her satin tights, Wanda hissed from the contact and its sudden sharp pain.
Nails raked down against her soft lower stomach when your hand slipped further up her dress and tugged her translucent black tights down so they slipped down and pooled around her ankles.
Wanda’s arms reached up and wrapped around your neck, pulling your face down to her level. She kissed you again but you remained towering above her.
One of your arms pressed against the wooden wall behind Wanda’s head to perch yourself up, and the other travelled down between her thighs.
Your lips parted occasionally in soft wet pops between breathless pants.
Slender fingers shot down between Wanda’s legs, red manicured fingernails tucking themselves beyond the hem of her wet panties. You slapped Wanda’s wrist and her eyebrows furrowed in frustration when her hand jerked away from her core. But you were quick to appease and pulled her panties down for her.
Her slick made the soaked fabric of her underwear stick to her folds briefly before they were pulled down entirely. Wanda’s spread thighs halted the downwards descent of her panties and they snagged at the edges of her parted knees.
Cold fingertips pushed through the older woman’s sticky lips and Wanda shuddered. Her head lolled to the side, her chin meeting her shoulder.
Before returning back to holding yourself up above her, your hand wrapped around one of Wanda’s thighs and pulled her leg up around your hips so you could angle your wrist between her thighs more comfortably.
Weakly, she tried to hold her leg up around your waist. You stepped forward so her leg bent backwards further and you could hold her up with the pressure of your front. Her other leg focused on staying as parted from the other as the confinement of her panties wrapped around her knees would allow.
Finally, your fingers delved past the rim of Wanda’s opening. Your digits were warmed by her smooth walls and her back arched from her seat.
“My Lord…” Wanda moaned out, her lips pulling upwards in a wide grin. “I offer my thanks for the pleasures of the flesh- of my sacred body.”
You tucked your face in the crook of Wanda’s exposed neck. Your tongue ran up the pulse of her neck, eliciting a long moan from your neighbour.
Two fingers spread apart and curled within Wanda’s walls and the sweet sound of her parting pussy reached your ears. With the space you made for yourself, your fingers picked up speed and your arm surged forward then back.
Wanda was a melted mess against the booth’s wooden partition. Her hips jerked up desperately for more contact but her loose hold of her leg around your waist offered no leverage. She was left to arch and whine helplessly underneath you.
“Y/N,” she breathed out, her eyes fluttering open to look at you. But your face was buried deep within her neck, nipping and sucking at every inch of her soft skin that your lips danced across. She exhaled again, sharply this time, “Y/N!”
Regrettably, you parted yourself from the warm enveloping and lifted your head to look up at Wanda.
Her eyebrows were stitched together and her expression was contorted. If one could not hear the melodic sounds coming from her, one might even think she was in pain. But despite her position, helpless and without any semblance of leverage over you, the corners of Wanda’s lips arched up into a satisfied grin still, though granted it was one that quivered.
“Faster. I’m going to come,” she panted out.
You abided by Wanda's wishes and, rapidly, your fingers quickened. The confessional booth shook as you thrusted your fingers into her. Wanda’s shoulders jerked backwards in response to each entry, the pain near bruising.
“Oh, God…” she trembled. “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”
You advanced forward so her knee pressed into her chest. You silently mused at the way Wanda’s leg bent backwards further to allow for you to push yourself against her.
Your forehead pressed against her own and with open eyes, you watched the contortion of Wanda’s face and the parting of her lips, the rising and falling of her breasts beyond her dress as she panted.
One arm slipped from around your neck and reached back. Wanda’s fingers grasped at the metal divide of ornate patterns against the partition.
You groped at her breast, switching periodically as her chest heaved.
“Have mercy on me, my Lord,” Wanda whimpered, her eyes screwed shut so tight that she saw wisps against the insides of her eyelids. Scattered psalms and Bible verses spilled from her lips and reached your ears in such an abrupt and perpetual way that nearly made you question if you were the God that Wanda cried out for, the Lord she presently worshipped as her slick dripped down her inner thighs and coated the seat beneath her.
A sharp yelp came from Wanda’s constricted throat, “Ah, Y/N! I’m going to… my God, my holy God, I repent! I repent for my-”
Her voice broke and she cried out.
“Y/N!”
The last arm hanging from around your neck tightened around you as she came, raspy cries leaving her throat raw as she moaned out strings of your name.
Her body turned to mush the moment the last waves of Wanda’s orgasm washed over her. Her leg slipped from around your waist and her fingers tumbled from the partition’s divide.
Weak pants left her as her eyes shut, too fatigued to even keep them open. Wanda’s body was slumped back down against the wooden wall behind her. Her body shuddered and she groaned uncomfortably when you slipped your fingers out of her hole.
“Wanda…” you whispered. “Are you okay?”
Your arm wrapped around her waist and you helped her sit up. The older woman only hummed out a tired moan in response, her head nodding ever so slightly.
Your coated fingers slipped past your lips and you ran your tongue across it, licking it clean of Wanda’s tangy-sweet juices. Your hand moved forward to her mouth and your thumb swiped across her soft bottom lip.
Wanda’s tongue darted out weakly to taste herself on her lips.
You met hers with your own in a soft kiss and her eyes fluttered open. She kissed you back and smiled against your mouth.
She uttered softly, her whisper raspy and evident of the effects her cries had on her throat, “Do you want to leave now?”
“Not yet.”
You got down between her thighs and pulled her panties down further so they fell to her ankles atop of her tights. Wanda chuckled and repositioned herself on top of you. Her hands found either side of your head, steering you gently as you kissed her lower stomach and hips. She hummed, feeling pleased while your lips ran across her rolls and stretch marks.
Soft tufts of wispy hair tickled your upper lip as you travelled south. You pressed gentle kisses to Wanda’s outer lips.
When you finally buried your nose into her cunt and dragged your tongue through her folds, Wanda grinned. Your thumbs delved into her slick petal-like folds and spread them apart, allowing your tongue to lap up the sweet nectar of Wanda’s pleasure. Her head fell back against the wall behind her. Her fingers played with the hair at the back of your neck as her back arched up from her seat once more.
Three more orgasms racked through her body before you left the confessional together.
“Did I guilt you earlier, Y/N?” Wanda asked as the two of you exited the church. It was empty, the service long concluded by the time you finished with her. She tightened her jacket lapels around her as the cold winter air enveloped her warm body. After being in the stuffy confessional booth for nearly an hour, it was a harsh awakening. “Did you touch me out of pity?”
You turned to her when you reached your car in the empty parking lot. It had snowed a notable amount since the last time you were out. “No,” you answered. “You didn’t guilt me into anything. I did what I did because I wanted to.”
“Truly, I didn’t mean to force you,” she continued despite your answer. She stood on the other side of your car’s hood, her words leaving her in white tendrils in the cold air. “I was under the impression you felt the same passion for me. Was I mistaken?”
From across the snowy hood of your car, you peered at her. At least now, you knew more in the field of reading her. Her words were not accusing nor vexed. They were words of reflection, the lingering sentiments of having partaken in what she did with a girl so much younger than she.
But Wanda wasn’t feeling guilty, was she?
Did she regret what she’d done?
You looked away from her and moved to the back of the car to get the snow brush from the trunk. “It wasn’t a mistake,” you uttered though the side of your car shrouded you as you finished your answer.
You unlocked the car and heard Wanda slip into the passenger’s seat while you brushed the loose yet thick layers of snow from the vehicle.
Once the snow was cleaned from the car and you put the brush back into the trunk, you got into the driver’s seat.
An inevitable silence came over the two of you as you started the car and waited for the engine to warm up.
Thick flakes of snow, perhaps each half an inch wide, fell scattered and delicately onto the windshield only to melt into clear crystals once the heat from the car warmed it.
“Do you regret it?” you asked suddenly, your voice a low hum synonymous with the buzz of the running car.
Much to your relief, Wanda answered through a soft sigh, “No.” She turned her head and looked at you. “I don’t.”
Then it was your turn to feel some streak of guilt.
“Not for a moment in my life have I ever done anything so spontaneous,” she told you. “It felt so wonderful to make a decision like that on my own, on little premeditated thought.”
“You’re married,” you pressed, turning your gaze towards her.
Wanda urged, “I didn’t choose that. I love my boys, as does my husband. But, Y/N, what we did was something that I’d chosen. Do you understand?”
You shook your head.
She took your hand, moving it from your own lap to on top her thigh. She stroked the back of your hand with her thumb soothingly. “I do not regret it,” Wanda stated firmly.
Then she continued. “But I will not act under the pretence that you do not have every chance to make something more of yourself,” she added, eliciting your curiosity. You peered at her through her glasses.
“I do not wish to deny you any opportunity because of what we’ve done. You are not in my debt because of what you’ve given me.”
You felt your face contort at the statement and you pulled your hand away from her. “You aren’t a price to pay, Wanda. You’re not a substitute or a stepping stone,” you said.
She scoffed. “Please. Don’t you know how old I am now, Y/N?” Wanda inquired, though you knew it was rhetorical. “I have two ten-year-old children and a husband of eleven years. There is nothing I can give you that you cannot receive from someone younger, a selection as easy as picking a ripe fruit from a blossoming tree. I have nothing to bear for you.”
“You think that concerns me? It doesn’t. If it should have, then I wouldn’t have come to the service with you today,” you informed her plainly. The way in which you spoke such devotion to her bewildered Wanda. The confidence in your admission as if it were common knowledge- it planted something unsteady in her.
“You speak of the confidence your choices give you, but what of mine?” you said. “What we did, it was not done only because you chose and I swayed. In my own decision, I was unambiguous. There’s nothing more to it.”
Wanda’s breaths were steady and her blinks even-tempered. After a moment, her lips parted and she spoke, “You choose this? With me?”
“With everything in me capable of acting on my volition.”
“Which is plenty?” she attempted to clarify.
“Plenty enough to fill a dozen churches and several more.”
A sharp barely audible inhale came from Wanda and she straightened.
Then, in a swift and careful motion, she leaned over and kissed you.
The car’s heating was left on as you pulled Wanda onto your lap. You unzipped her dress and unclipped her bra, pressing kisses to her soft breasts and mapping her body out with your hands. Your lips wrapped around her rosy nipples. Her lipstick stains decorated your face in gentle shades of faded red.
Her arms wrapped around your body as she bounced on top of you, welcoming your fingers into her once again. And again, and again.
The two of you fucked in that otherwise empty church parking lot until you both grew tired, after which you dressed Wanda back up in her clothes.
Sitting on your lap with her head on your shoulder, Wanda uttered, “Hear my soul speak. Of the very instant that I saw you, did my heart fly at your service.”
“Which verse was that?” you whispered back.
“It’s not a Bible verse. It’s Shakespeare,” she answered and kissed your neck. Your eyes fluttered shut as did Wanda’s, her hand brushing against your cheek softly.
Wanda lifted her head. When you opened your eyes, she was looking down at you. A smile was on her face and her bottom lip was taken between her teeth. “Years it’s been since I’ve quoted him,” she thought aloud.
She tucked your hair behind your ear and kissed the tip of your nose. She then confessed, “I’ve missed it gravely.”
