Yup, the other AMV/Edit from the iceberg, same reason for uploading it seperately. This one is less melodramatic, so if you disliked that about the last one maybe this one will get more than two likes on here lol. (Also some other thoughts and update after the break)
But first, the iceberg, if anyone is curious:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf_dGJyQJOc
Anyways, yeah, actually this one had a whole backstory (kinda) around it, remember like two years ago being on a walk and listening to the song and thinking "I guess this one could work as an amv- but nah amv's are emberassing, I would never make one" - guess history is funny like that. Still wonder if people got pissed of and left the iceberg video before ever coming to the part cause I kinda shittalked amv makers, guess I had to do it, it is what it is. Still, dunno think it turned quite well for basically the first amv I ever really made (think the closest I did before was cutting the Hey Arnold intro to Uptown funk when my brother asked me as a request 7 years ago lol, that shit got lost forever and only went up to the first 20 seconds or something anyways) But yeah, if I'm already rambling, guess this will probably be my last post for some time, will try to abstaine from just posting bullshit and spaming tags on here, hopefully for good but worst case atleast like for a month and a half. Ofcourse I'll upload more substantial shit here when I have something, but I think the rush of likes and responses is too much of a drug for me and takes up too much thoughtspace when I don't get the warm reception I want lol, it's a me problem, but still, prolly better for everyone to just concentrate on the big projects, so when I'm not busy with real life, I can deliver that instead of weird inside jokes or paragraph long theories and rants in the posts of other people (those who didn't mind that - apreciate you, real MVP's) So yeah, think I went on long enough, so yeah it is what it is, we'll see, hopefully I can make some progress on the iceberg again and actually get back on the chapters for SE Post too, kinda don't wanna abandon it for this long and I got a lot of things I wanna finally put to paper, just gotta work out logistic in every sense of the world (like real life shit but also story planning, cause I have all the events, but not sure how to put them in a timeline so there are no plotholes or weird pacing, but I'll figure it out) But as allways, if I fuck up everything again, or you don't really care and wonder why I'm writting as if anybody did: Yeah...Sorry

Yup finally here, with improved audio and scripting, plus a few AMVazing additions too... So yeah, watch it for yourself, think you should like it. Think the next one will not come out as quick do to many real life circumstances, like work, other commitments, problems with the recording space, etc - but don't worry, I'm over two hours in, and with my bad impulse control I'm already fallen into the madness of the lost cause fallacy.. And if you don't like it, especially for possibly spreading misinfo, especially with the "I love you in sign language" point:
Yeah...Sorry

Okay y’all… I was very critical of eps 3 & 4 (especially 4) of NAtLA. Then all of a sudden eps 5 & 6 kinda slapped me in the face with how much better the show suddenly got.
Spoiler-free thoughts first:
Zuko, Iroh, and Aang have cemented themselves as the best parts about this adaptation - which is really funny considering I’m currently writing a longfic AU where Zuko and Iroh discover Aang in the iceberg right after Zuko is banished at age 13 and end up becoming the first members of the Gaang (albeit reluctantly at first lol). Episode 6: “Masks” (the Blue Spirit adaptation) was so good, I’d venture to say that it actually improved and fleshed out some things from the original series.
Episode 5: “Spirited Away”, while not as good as E6, was not as bad as I heard people say it was going to be. I think that the changes they did make didn’t bother me nearly as much as the changes they made in the last episode, and it was actually entertaining.
There were several scenes that made me cry in both of these episodes (moreso in episode 6, which I’ll get into further down in the spoiler section). These are the scenes that I feel like really tapped into the heart of the original show rather than feeling like a soulless remake.
Now for my in-depth thoughts (INCLUDES SPOILERS):
EP 5: “Spirited Away”
- Staring out, I was bummed because I had just rewatched the first two eps of the original animated series lol.
- It was an interesting choice to have all three members of the Gaang get stuck in the Spirit World, but I think it worked.
- Wan Shi Tong just showing up randomly was a bit unnecessary, but I suppose it will be kinda interesting to see him again in S2 since he’s already met the Gaang
- Hei Bai plays a much smaller role in these eps, but I strangely didn’t mind that either?
- Seeing Katara’s last memory with her mom was devastating, especially the fact that she had to witness her death and hide in the igloo with Kya’s charred body :(( she definitely has severe PTSD.
- Even Sokka’s memory made me tear up a bit
- Koh being the villain and a soul-eater or whatever was a bit of an odd choice, but I guess I can see why they did it. I do prefer him just being an asshole who steals ppl’s faces lol
- Appreciated the Fog of Lost Souls reference from the LoK lore
- Aang reuniting with Gyatso made me cry. I know some people didn’t like him being in the Spirit World, but I really liked it. Also, the fact that Gyatso was the first person to tell Aang that it wasn’t his fault the Air Nomads died, and that if he had been there he would have died too? THANK YOU! My poor boy has been berated enough for “abandoning” the world.
- We got some interesting lore about the afterlife for humans from Gyatso and Aang’s convo, which we’ve never gotten in AtLA media before. Idk if it’s just for Air Nomads, but Aang mentions that Gyatso stayed behind instead of “seeking enlightenment”. I know that the end goal in Buddhism is to reincarnate until you eventually achieve nirvana, so I wonder if that’s what they were alluding to (I’m not an expert on religions so pls correct me if I’m wrong)
- Oh yeah, I forgot June is here lmao. As a queer person I loved her (bc beautiful goth woman) but I didn’t like the weird choice to make her hit on Iroh - I guess to contrast the Iroh being creepy towards her thing in the OG series. I wish they would have just had them interact normally tbh, no weird “flirting”
EP 6: “Masks”
- Here we go y’all. The best episode in the show so far and probably the best the show is gonna get this season. I’m still pretty shocked at how good this one was.
- I think the decision to include flashbacks to Zuko’s Agni Kai was a good decision here. It felt like an appropriate episode for them and the flashbacks were very well done.
- In general, Dallas is doing a phenomenal job at portraying a Zuko who is angry and aggressive, yes, but also so very sweet and compassionate at his core. I love when little inklings of his true self shine through.
- Roku was… not what I expected. He was very much more of a lighthearted and jokey person… I didn’t hate it, it was just unexpected lol. I wonder if they did that to contrast him with Kyoshi. Which, speaking of, I’m glad Roku clarified that Aang doesn’t just need to be a merciless warrior (and that he didn’t berate Aang for “abandoning” the world like she did). But I still am annoyed about the mischaracterization of Kyoshi in general.
- RIP Shyu :/
- Thought it was kind of strange how June captures Aang at Roku’s temple lol. Like how did she get on and off the island??
- Zhao continues to feel like a completely different character to me lmao. I think this version is pretty funny, but it’s so weird to see Zhao being portrayed as so goofy and incompetent when he was such an intimidating force and the main villain of Book 1 in the OG series. Just a weird direction they went with his character.
- The Yuyan archers look cool as fuck. 10/10 no notes
- Still not sure how I feel about Azula already being this insecure and jealous of Zuko. I think it makes her feel a bit more realistically like a child, but the whole point of Azula’s character is that she is really good at maintaining this cool and calm persona on the surface, which she uses to scare and manipulate people. I can see her maybe getting to a point later on to where she hardens herself into that though. We’ll see.
- Baby Zuko asking Iroh how he looks and his little smile 😭😭😭😭 I had a physical “aww” reaction to that. THAT’S MY SON (me and Iroh shouting in unison)
- War Room scene was handled very well. No complaints. I like how Ozai tried to test Zuko with battle strategies.
- Blue Spirit break out scene was extremely close to the original, and it was really good. They adapted it almost shot for shot with all the important parts.
- Here’s probably my favorite part of the episode: Zuko and Aang’s talk inside the abandoned house after they escape from Pohuai!!!!!! Gahhhh I could gush about this scene all day. I love how they expanded it to be an actual friendly conversation between Aang and Zuko. Like we get to see Zuko’s true self coming through - the sweet, kind boy we know he is. Zuko and Aang just have such great chemistry as well, wayyy more than Aang has with either Sokka or Katara. Like I adored them bonding over painting and caligraphy!!! I think this is the best acting we’ve seen from Gordon so far, and Dallas did a phenomenal job switching back to that hurt, angry version of himself (of course a trauma response). And the fact that Aang said “sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you” when he blocked Zuko’s firebending attack??? My sweet boy 😭
- The final flashback to the Agni Kai was really well done too. I’d already heard Zuko fights back, which I wasn’t sure I’d like, but I actually didn’t mind it. I really liked that they showed Zuko’s hesitation whenever he did actually have an opening, and that was what angered Ozai the most - Zuko showing compassion, “weakness”. Daniel Dae Kim is of course doing a phenomenal job (no surprises there), and I really liked that Iroh actually attempted to stop Ozai at one point. It also looked like young Azula had tears in her eyes, which I again actually liked because it humanizes her.
- I loved that Aang was still there when Zuko woke up on the boat 😭 he wanted to make sure he was okay!! I full on started crying when we got the “do you think we could have been friends too?” lines from him. Again, Gordon killed it. I love how you can tell that Aang knows Zuko has been hurt and that’s why he acts the way he does. He doesn’t blame him for any of it. 10/10
- the last flashback to Zuko in his bed recovering from the burn… god the tears just kept flowing. I really liked the choice to have Ozai almost give Zuko a chance to like… idk understand why he did what he did, and how compassion is “weak”?? And then Zuko’s response to give people a chance 😭😭😭 as if I couldn’t love him any more!!! And then of course Ozai gets pissed. But seeing baby Zuko just cry in his bed UGH I’m dehydrated at this point
- Of course I can’t finish this review without mentioning the 41st division. What an incredible way to expand upon the source material by making them Zuko’s crew!!! It shows just how much Zuko truly cares about others and it moved me so much (once again to tears).
I don’t have high hopes for the last two episodes, but honestly, if this is what the live action can be, it gives me a bit of hope (at least for future seasons). I really think that Dallas, Gordon, Paul, and Daniel were the stars of this ep and are a big part of what made it so good.

【大海原 AU:暗黒星の冠】 イダ竜
【WATGBS AU: COTDS】 IdaTatsu
Idate and Tatsumiya 🖤🤍❤️💙
WATGBS AU: COTDS
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an Idate and IdaTatsu centric AU between me and my friends 💞 COTDS stands for Crown of the Dark Stars 👑💫 Its other name is Ankokusei no Kanmuri.
I just wanted to post some rough sketches/WIPs of my magical oarfish wife, and my homicidal oreo, my cat cot son 🤗 Magical oarfish MILF x Buff chaotic demon DILF.
I'm planning to give Tatsumiya matching Star and Moon earrings to match with Idate's Black Sun and Star ones...
Read more under the cut if you're interested in our IdaTatsu AU!
Our WATGBS AU is named Crown of the Dark Stars (暗黒星の冠, Ankokusei no Kanmuri) 💫👑 It's an AU with its own story, separate from the original WATGBS.
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an Idate and IdaTatsu centric AU between me and my friends 💞 COTDS stands for Crown of the Dark Stars 👑💫 Its other name is Ankokusei no Kanmuri.
WATGBS AU: COTDS, which stands for Crown of the Dark Stars, or Ankokusei no Kanmuri, is an Idate centric and IdaTatsu AU between me and my friends that's a complete revamp and rewrite of WATGBS.
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an AU between me and my friends! We all contribute to it whenever we have time to draw and write for it 😌🙏
Summary of WATGBS AU: COTDS would literally just be: (Yoinks characters and the settings, makes an original story)
It's just us writing our own stories and exploring our ideas with the characters, mainly focused on him and his dynamics with other charas. We made up our own lore and revamped the characters' writing and designs. It's just us playing with our revamped and rewritten blorbo OCs in our sandbox 💞
WATGBS AU: COTDS is centered around Idate, a chaotic evil demon orca man who originally wanted to unleash the apocalypse, but became too mellow after meeting Tatsumiya.
It's an Idate centric AU that heavily focuses on IdaTatsu (Idate/Tatsumiya), and the platonic familial dynamic between the orca brothers, Idate and his older twin brother, Takama. And it has a heavier emphasis on fantasy elements. And we have our own OCs we created for it too, like our IdaTatsu fankids
Idate: The Star Eater and Grand Demon
Idate (伊達 (イダテ)) is the evil protagonist of WATGBS AU: COTDS 🖤🤍💙 He is Tatsumiya's husband and Takama's younger twin brother.
Idate is the "Star Eater" and Lord of the Underworld. Idate drinks peoples' blood and eats their souls as nourishment. He and his older twin brothers are Demons. They're secretly Grand Demons (大魔王, Dai Maou), who have much more powerful magic than other Demons. They originally lived in Iceberg Isle, but Idate ends up convincing Takama to move to the Blue Sea Kingdom with him so he can live with Tatsumiya.
He's a chaotic evil demon orca and the evil protag of our AU, which makes him very fun for me to write! 🐬💞 I love writing for IdaTatsu and the others, and coming up with and adding onto each everyones' ideas whenever we discuss.
He's extremely chaotic and the world's most insufferable wifeguy /endearing that falls devastatingly in love with and eventually gets married to Tatsumiya. They feel drawn to each other, someone who's the complete opposite of the other, someone who represents what the other has never known, and tries to figure each other out.
Idate's character theme is "Void" 🖤
Idate eating and stealing souls also plays up to his whole void theme.
He's the Lord of Space and the Underworld, whose void world that contains the dead souls of all the people he ate for power.
Idate's powers represent the concept of "Void."
Idate can access a different dimension (the void between worlds), to create darkness and call it from within himself. Infinite darkness. An infinite void. Idate can create and access voids, and can call upon and manipulate darkness.
Idate's leitmotif is the Black Sun. His void is a black hole.
Idate can make makeshift weapons from dark energy. It's a black demon aura that can be controlled at will and slash into things.
Stardust is the source of all magic in the sea in our AU. Idate can make makeshift weapons from dark energy (black stardust).
Tatsumiya: The Dragon Flower and Grand Sorcerer of the Blue Sea
Tatsumiya (竜宮) is the Grand Sorcerer of the Blue Sea Kingdom 🤍❤️ She's the Lord of Creation, and Idate's wife. And also my wifey wife wife <3 🥰😘 She's a magical oarfish that serves the Blue Sea Kingdom's Princess, Lucinda, our Blue Sea Princess (BSP) OC. Her specialties are healing and star magic. 🌠
She's known as the Dragon Flower (龍花, Ryuuka) because her reputation with the sword spread across the Blue Sea. She has soul restoration and soothing properties with her powers to calm souls.
Tatsumiya is the Messenger/Aide to the Blue Sea Kingdom's Princess 💞 Her title is Grand Sorcerer (大魔導士, Dai-Madoushi). In our WATGBS AU, she took on the role after Meikai's disappearance.
Tatsumiya's leitmotif is the Moon.
As the complete opposite of Idate, her main powers are controlling flowing water, star magic (creation magic), and healing. Her royal duties as the Blue Sea's Messenger, are similar to a shrine maiden's.
Tatsumiya is so wifey to me 🤭
In WATGBS AU: COTDS, she is Idate's wife!
IdaTatsu: The Two Messengers, the Sun and the Moon
Tatsumiya is the Blue Sea Kingdom's Grand Sorcerer. Idate is one of the Grand Demons that came from elsewhere. The two Messengers of their opposing Gods.
Idate and Tatsumiya are opposites in terms of their powers, personalities, and roles. Both Idate and Tatsu are Messengers of their opposing "Gods" and queens. Our own OCs, Algol and Lucinda, are the Red Sea Princess (BSP) and Blue Sea Princess (BSP) respectively.
Tatsumiya, one of the brightest stars in the sea, and Idate the Star Eater 💞
WATGBS AU: COTDS' headcanon versions of the characters' designs
In our WATGBS AU's revamped versions of the charas (our headcanon designs), Idate is buff and has scars.
He wears blue eyeliner, and black sun and star earrings to match with Tatsumiya's red eyeliner and star and moon earrings 🌠☀️🌕
(I'll add Tatsu's earrings in the future!)
Idate wears blue eyeliner, which is the same as Tatsumiya's favourite colour, ultramarine blue (群青色, gunjyou iro) 💙
At first this was coincidental, I added it to his design cuz I thought he looked nice with eyeliner and so it'd have great visual contrast with Tatsu's design, but then I found out that Tatsu's favourite colour was ultramarine blue. So the colour I chose for Idate's eyeliner coincidentally, ended up being the same as Tatsu's fave colour…
Unintentional big brain play from me 😌
I want to give them matching couple eyeliner and earrings! Idate wears black sun and star earrings, and Tatsu wears moon and star ones ☀️🌙🌠
Ofc these are still WIPs, so I'm planning to add them eventually.
IdaTatsu are the Sun/Moon, Yin/Yang, Light/Darkness themed couple in our AU <3 The Black Sun and the Moon ☀️🖤🌙
IdaTatsu's leitmotifs have a lot of narrative significance in COTDS, which ties back to our AU's central themes 🙏 I've given a lot of focus to their relationship ☺️
Name Meanings
Idate (伊達) 伊達 = Meaning “elegance; gallantry; sophistication; showy; having style”, or “putting on airs; showing off”
I chose the kanji reading Idate (伊達) cuz both meanings fit him very well! 🖤🤗
Idate (伊達) is my headcanon kanji reading of Idate's name. Since I wanted to pick a reading with a fitting name meaning for him!
My son. My homicidal oreo… 🐬 Oreorcat
I'll eventually turn these WIPs into concept art reference sheets! Though I might format them differently.
Tatsumiya (竜宮) 竜宮 = Meaning “Dragon Palace”
It's an alternate reading of Ryuuguu 🐉🏯 The Undersea Dragon Palace from the story of Urashima Tarou in Japanese folklore.
It comes from 竜宮の使い (Ryuuguu no tsukai), a giant deep-sea oarfish, known as "The Messenger/Envoy of the Undersea God's Palace" which is exactly what Tatsumiya represents as a character!
I chose kanji readings of Idate and his older twin brother Takama's names, as well for our other OCs in WATGBS AU: COTDS, like our IdaTatsu fankids. I'm excited to show them in the future 🤗💞

Human TV I Think They'd Watch
All the Bros and Dateables
Dev Notes:I have been watching Kitchen Nightmares while writing and how I think Barbatos might like it,, and then it lead to what human world TV they might like,,, maybe spent a little to much time on it instead of working on WIPs
Tumblr media
Lucifer
Really likes old people TV
He watches things like How It’s Made, National Geographic documentaries, if he wants a little laugh those shows about “aliens”. Skin Walker Ranch is his dirty little side piece TV show
He just enjoys educational shows because they are easy to tune out
Really loves Soap Operas. Young and the Restless and General Hospital are kept up with religiously(hah). He, Diavolo, and Barbatos usually watch it. Dia really likes it and Barbatos watches when working with Dia second hand while doing work. He latched on after watching it in the background a few times.
Also, just the news. Mans will put on a 24 hour news station and will keep it on for like, 5 days.
Mammon
He watches Harrison Porter, so give him the joy that is Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
Would also enjoy the Spiderwick Chronicles movie since he doesn’t know how bad it was compared to the books
Just a big fantasy fan honestly. Loves them.
On another note, he also loves trashy reality TV and News. The only one who beats out his love for celebrity gossip is Asmo. When he is putting on a TV show to go brain dead to its something from TLC, like 90 Day Fiance, I Love a Mama’s Boy, etc.
He watches the Kentucky Derby, bets on it a lot (loses a lot too)
His dirty secret show/movies are Hallmark movies. He watches them when he won’t get caught. Hopeless romantic nerd (Affectionate)
Leviathan
You’re joking
You’re joking right?
Anime or DIE!!! (/hj)
Also really popular fantasy movies based on books. He will rip them to shreds when you watch them. Can be fun if you read the books, annoying if you haven’t.
Has a soft spot for magical girl animes, obvi
There isn’t really much to elaborate on, half of his personality is anime and nerd stuff.
Just a few favorites I think he might have with no explanation:
Tokyo Mew Mew, Yugi-Oh, Death Note, Naruto, Angel Beats, Lucky Star, Soul Eater, Watamote, Saint Tail, and Cowboy Bebop
Satan
King of detective shows
He loves trying to find them out
It is canon he loves the Devildom equivalent of Midsomer Murders, so just show him that too
I think he would like Forensic Files too.
Also, thriller movies. And psychological horror movies.
He loves them, he typically can predict an ending, but it's nice to see how they write out how the characters themselves find out
Asmo
Trashy reality TV!!!!!
He and Mammon watch 90 Day and Mama's boy and talk shit about them.
Loves Maury, Jerry Springer (rip my king), Parent Court when he's feeling a little frisky
Next Top Model and RuPaul's Drag Race. It's about the DRAMA! The OUTFITS!
Watched part of Euphoria but honestly? Found it mid. Sorry but he just couldn't understand the hype after the writing started to plummet.
Has watched Jersey Shore, will not elaborate on his opinion.
Tbh, he also doesn't really watch much because he feels like he has better things to do with his time, he only watches it for Brotherly Bonding, and for background noise
Beel
Haha, big guy hardly watches TV
Watches workout videos primarily
He likes learning new work out and dietary things
Has been banned from watching any type of food shows. Sorry Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
Will participate in movie night, primarily for food, buhe does pay attention
Honestly just watches whatever someone else typically puts on with no complaint
Belphie
Much like his twin, doesn't typically seek out TV watching.
Much easier to watch on his phone
He does enjoy satisfying videos
Watches Rug cleaning videos, silly ASMR videos, Video essays when he can't sleep and gets curious. Loves obscure media and icebergs.
The essays are about the only thing that goes on the TV
Sorry but he just doesn't care much.
Will also participate in movie night, almost always falls asleep. Still can tell you the entire plot of the film.
On a very rare occasion will watch South Park. Will not elaborate on this one.
Solomon
Loves old TV shows to some newer ones
I Love Lucy, The Twilight Zone, The Muppet Show
I cant really explain the Muppet Show, but I know its true, it is in my bones
Honestly loves older sitcoms. They just hit different.
Can I mention I Dreamed a Genie and Bewitched? Classics in his eyes. Would fight to the death for them
Will make a off hand comment on how he doesn't feel like TV is the same anymore
Watches reality TV in the background when Asmo turns it on when he lounges in either one of their rooms
I feel like I just can't explain most of these, but they are the truth in my heart and that is enough
Simeon
Haha...What?
Watches whatever Luke or Solomon puts on or whatever someone else would suggest
He has a preference for books most of the time I feel like. Just goes with the flow
Just suggest something and he'll put it up for the next movie night when it's his choice
I really can't think of one he would pick oops.
Barbatos
He watches whatever Diavolo puts on in the background. Likes the Soap Operas some times, gets a little annoyed with anime voices when he has a migraine.
Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen just hits right for him. Loves the insults
He doesn't much watch TV either though. Prefers audio books since they are easier to carry around
You essentially have to beg to watch TV with him, he's a busy butler ya'know?
Diavolo
KING OF FLEXIBILITY
Has watched all of it, and will continue to do so.
Has a special place for Soap Operas and Ruri-Chan
Seen all the classics, the new block busters, all of it
Honestly you wonder how he gets the time?
He really likes consuming stuff, so he does it when he is working on paper work he puts on the subtitles and turning the audio on low and going HAM
Couldn't be me, I would get distracted
For the most part he's watched it all, and what he hasn't is on his to watch list. He just likes talking to his friends about it :)
Luke
GREAT! BRITISH! BAKE! OFF!
He likes seeing the different foods
It inspires him so much, it's so cute watching his eyes sparkle as he sees something he likes and he writes it down on his phone
Also, he really likes watching Bluey. He lets Simeon and Solomon, and Barbatos found out (because he knows everything), but would DIE if anyone else found out
Also likes early 80's and bad CG horror movies. Kid literally laughs and Mammon is losing his mind next to him. I think because of the bad effects it makes it more tolerable.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space slaps man what can the kid say?
I think I'm projecting hard onto him,, but he's my son so it doesn't matter

Any obscure topics you think nobody is covering about Soul Eater? I could include it in the iceberg video series too if you don't mind, crediting you ofcourse
The fact that Black Star is not the first mortal in universe(at least outside of fire force, i know one human did it there too, but i havent actually read it) to seek the level of "godhood" through his own strength, as a greek Meister named Poseidon did it before him, and succeeded. The fact that after achieving this level he apparently died of old age is interesting in its own way too.

okay I've seen a couple tags now and I'm dying of curiosity - what is the magic shotgun that eats sins??
oh, you've done it now. the magic shotgun that eats sins is actually just the tip of the iceberg of this deeply, deeply stupid story.
So. Our story begins in 1985. Peter David writes a four-part story in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man, called The Death of Jean DeWolff. It will become known as one of the all-time greatest Spider-Man stories.
The Death of Jean DeWolff follows Peter as he investigates the murder of his friend, police captain Jean DeWolff, as well as several other murders by a serial killer calling himself the Sin-Eater. The Sin-Eater has super soldier-esque physical abilities, but no other powers. He uses a regular ass shotgun to kill people he believes have transgressed against society. The Sin-Eater is pretty explicitly a narrative foil for Spider-Man, and it is thematically extremely important that he kills people. Put a pin in that.
The Sin-Eater appears in this story, and then a sequel story (I'm not sure exactly how much later, about a year or two I think?) where he dies.
Now. Flash forward about 35 years. Nick Spencer, my greatest enemy, is the writer on The Amazing Spider-Man. For reasons that truly elude me, he decides to resurrect this classic villain, but... different. The Sin-Eater is no longer a slightly physically enhanced serial killer. Now he has the power to sense evil in people's souls. And, most importantly, he has a magic shotgun. That eats people's sins.
What does this mean, you ask? How does anything, let alone a gun, eat people's sins?
Excellent question. Moving on.
Now a lot of the details of this plot are fuzzy for me because I've done a really excellent job of repressing most of Nick Spencer's writing and I wish to god the current writers would stop reminding me about the dumb shit he did. But the broad strokes are that Sin-Eater forms a cult and starts shooting villains with his magic shotgun. And when he shoots them, they don't die. He eats their sins, and they stop being villains. They repent and decide that they're good and nice now. And also Sin-Eater gets their superpowers. Those are also sins, I guess.
This all comes to a head when he takes aim at the man in the Spider-Man canon with the most sins to his name: Norman Osborn. Sin-Eater wants to shoot him and make him good. Peter, who doesn't trust like that, wants to stop him from doing this. Norman, who's the worst, is being generally unhelpful to both parties. (Also there's this whole thing where all the other 616 spider-people (and also Gwen, who doesn't even live in this universe?) debate whether to interfere because of future visions of Peter dying and blah blah blah it's not important.)
Peter ultimately fails to keep Norman away from the Sin-Eater (I think he shoots the Juggernaut and gets his powers or something) and Norman gets shot with the magic shotgun. And his sins are eaten.
What does that mean, you ask again? Great question.
So I honestly forget what happens to the Sin-Eater because it literally does not fucking matter. Because it's time for Nick Spencer's grand finale, which really fucking sucks and is so bad seriously do yourself a favor and don't read it, and Norman Osborn is, like, nice now. I don’t have screencaps on hand of that but I do have this one of another extremely stupid thing that happens in Last Remains. God I hate that story. When will somebody eat Nick Spencer’s sins, I want to know.
Tumblr media
So after that trainwreck finally ends, the book passes hands to a new set of writers for the next chapter of ASM, Spider-Man: Beyond, and he's still like this. Norman isn't really around for the next arc (which focuses on my bestest boy Ben Reilly), but his sins are!
They get put in someone else.
Spider-Man: Beyond ends, and Amazing Spider-Man gets handed to Zeb Wells as the new writer. And Norman is back in the limelight. And his sins sure are still gone. And between that and Gold Goblin, a spin-off just for our good pal Norm, we really start to get a look at what it means for his sins to have been eaten by a magic shotgun.
And it um. Well. Um. I get the feeling Nick didn't really leave a lot of notes? If he put any thought into it at all.
So. What does it mean for your sins to be eaten? Norman refers, often, to his sins being "gone". But the actual events still very much happened; everyone still remembers them happening; their effects are still very much felt. But Norman now has a conscience, and is haunted by guilt for the many many many terrible things he's done.
Tumblr media
He even has a big ol' Wall of Guilt vision board featuring: Peter Parker listed four times; his own son whose life he ruined in countless ways listed third; the baby he had killed like, more than halfway down the board; a whole host of Clone Saga throwbacks (which I, clone saga lover that i am, appreciated at least; hashtag justice for seward trainer) but also notably not Ben Reilly, who nevertheless shows up like a week later to kick his ass for all the shit he did to him.
Tumblr media
This isn't super relevant but I just find this giant monument to his own crimes that is simultaneously kind of overboard and also still somehow incomplete really funny. Anyways, it's proof all the bad shit he did is still very much real.
And now here's where we return to the sins. Because as you'll remember, Norman's sins aren't just gone. They're in somebody else. Specifically a clone of Ashley Kafka, another character who's been done dirty. And having Norman's sins put in her have made her evil. And not just that, they're physically killing her. Here are Norman's thoughts on the subject:
Tumblr media
And he's read some science about it, so I think we have to take him at his word.
Now. There's a lot here. Let's recap the things we now know about sins:
They are linked to but a separate thing from the actual bad thing that you did
Are ALSO linked to your superpowers, maybe.
They prevent you from feeling remorse. In their absence you feel REAL bad about what you did.
They can be transferred to somebody else who had absolutely nothing to do with the actual things that spawned your sins
They make you evil
They physically kill you. This may just be if you have somebody else's sins that don't belong to you, because Norman did not seem to be dying of sin poisoning before he got shotgun'd
Losing them does not stop you from considering murder a legitimate solution to your problems
They can die, or at least go out of the world if the person holding them dies.
[Blaseball voice] A sin is a physical concept
So. Because Nick Spencer wanted to bring back a classic, little-used villain, and I can only assume went "his name is Sin-Eater? got it, I understand his deal completely", we all have to wrestle with the theological implications of a magic shotgun that eats sins. As my beloved roommate said when I explained this to them, the idea that feeling bad about your sins means they don't exist (at least as far as you’re concerned) could cause a schism in the Catholic church, and personally I can't wait until whoever the pope is in the Marvel universe finds out about this.
In conclusion: Just read The Death of Jean DeWolff instead okay it's so good especially if you like a real hard look at Peter's dark side and also Daredevil is there it's a great story don't subject yourself to this bullshit read something worth reading instead.
Tumblr media
^ me @ Nick Spencer
(and look there are whole other rants about how the way norman has been treated by the other characters and especially peter in light of this bullshit doesn’t make sense and also nick spencer’s arc more generally and also harry and I almost went into a rant about ben reilly at least three times in this post even though he’s not even really involved in this but I will leave them for another time)

Any topics you would want to be adresses in a Soul Eater iceberg, especially any that you dont think many talk about?
Tbh hard question...
I'd say some small but yet significant Manga and Anime differences... I myself like the anime more at some parts, especially the ending and Crona. When told by Eruka Maka found out, Crona in the anime doesn't go back to their abuser and later actually stands up to her. Medusa in the manga got exactly what she wanted. Asura is not "defeated" by Maka, he destroyed himself because he doesn't understand courage.
The uber wasted potential of Arachne as a villian and the fucking plot armor of Maka, also known as black blood. Without black blood, she wouldn't be where she is now. Without it, she would've lost against Crona, Mosquito, Arachne and Asura. A villian with 800+ years of experience, madness form and several chapters build up loses to a 14 yo with some plot armor in a few pages? Sorry, I am not buying that.
I do not hate Maka, but I wish she god stronger on her own instead of always relying on black blood. Hell, white dress grigori armor???
Also some dwelling theories I had:
Medusa is deaf like a real snake and "hears" like a snake via vibrations from the floor and air. Hence she's always barefoot and Crona uses sound based attacks. Deaf people can learn to lip read too so....
Death let Arachne live because he still had feelings for her. He could've still used soul perception to see her hiding.
The Manga end is a bad end if you think about it. From what I remember, Maka and Soul lose their black blood so Crona can seal Asura, Medusa dies HAPPY and Asura is alive. It is only a matter of time until Asura overtakes Crona and breaks free.

SOUL EATER ICEBERG LAYER 1 INTRO
Well it's not much but it's honest work:
I had to use that bitchute shit cause youtube fucked me over with copyright - and I ain't putting no stock music or video game ost - cause I might not have a lot of self-respect, but just enough to not be some "proffesional youtuber" - fuck that shit. But yeah, in the end, this is more of an experiment figuring out stuff - I now know that, no, mumbling my thoughts of the dome without many retakes is not the best, and that yeah splitting things into smaller parts is better - anyways as proof that this is just an intro, I'll just show how many entries the next few layers have:
Tumblr media
So yeah, I get it's disapointing to deliver this little after all the time, but atleast know I got a better look at what is needed to get this job done - the plan is to go layer by layer till the work is done as they say.
At first planed to do two layers for this cause they are so short, but with all the holiday stress sadly I'm to busy to deliver in time without just crashing and burning - that's why I'm also posting this now - cause this is not good enough for a Christmas present lol - but maybe atleast as the pre-festivities gift you get from your coworker when the office HR staff makes you swap gifts.
Anyways, for those who don't get anything to the rambling, mumbling and general incoherence of the video and audio - yeah...sorry
(Also will probably not be active on tumblr still, maybe just reply to some messages, but if need me write me an email at [email protected])

Trying to play through all the Soul Eater games for the iceberg, and man I dunno how "gamers" can stand shit like "uuups, you lost to the boss, so go replay the whole repetetive level too!"
Like I suck at video games yet I know this monotone princess shit is easy, but having to redo this generic beat-em up gameplay just so I can fight somen "Man in the iron mask" dude is the opposite of fun.
Shit, games like Hotline Miami are way harder but they make replaying parts painless, this just makes me wanna quit.
Guess the real "Monotone princess" was me getting bored and bitching bout first world problems like video games not being fun enough🤔😂
The pains I go through for art😢

It's sad that there was supposedly a blog from Ohkubo which got completly wiped from the net with no archive, would have been usefull for the iceberg video somebody I know may or may not be working on...
I'm not familiar with which blogs Ohkubo has had, beyond what he posts on the shitty bird app.
The only related blog I have found was one Square Enix set up in the 2010s for Soul Eater: http://blog.square-enix.com/magazine/souleater/2013/09/post_9.html
Regarding the blog you're trying to find: did you see his blog before, and if so, have you tried searching for something specific you remember that he said on the blog (a memorable remark or piece of artwork) and using that as a way to search for an archive of the blog?

Explaining the Iceberg #6
Tumblr media
*Some things aren’t covered, namely things i’ve already discussed or content that I don’t feel is appropriate. And not everything is covered in depth
Tatterdemalion Moon Colonies: A since deleted forum post from MK, discussing the moon colonies of Reman that would later appear in c0da
Tamriel is the Far Shores: Orgnum is the immortal King of the Maormer, also said to be the Serpent God of the Sakatal’ indicating some connection to the Yokudan God of everything, Sakatal. Orgnum’s goal is to conquer Tamriel, this theory states that he may have mantled the Yokudan God and is confusing Tamriel for the Far Shores.
Water is Memory: One of the more difficult concepts to really pin down in these kind of theories, so bear with me. This topic has been brought up a few times in older lore discussions, and once again in ESO quite recently. First there should be clarification that I mean water both metaphorically and literally, just like the towers, there is no distinction between real and fake because this is a video game world. Second thing to note: There’s a lot of conflicting theories and ideas on this, i’m only providing the way I can conceptualize this all. If I provided every theory i’d surely hit some sort of character limit. Do you remember the metaphor about every soul in existence being a singular drop in an ocean? This is looking at the ocean itself, it’s the collective consciousness and memories of everyone out there, past, present and future. But this isn’t a synonym for souls and energy, this is a whole separate process. Sometimes souls are shown to be able to live without their memories (the soul carin), sometimes reflections of people's memories get stuck to places like ghosts (memory stones) When someone dies, their soul/energy and their memories may stick together and go to an Aedra or Daedra, or they might get split apart (like a Vestige) and end up in the Dreamsleeve to get recycled and in the Drowned Lamp which is a name for where all knowledge lost to history goes. This concept can be seen with the Daedra too, when discussing the ‘waters of oblivion’ when they get banished their essence heads back to this beginning place to spring back up. Water is memory also gets brought up quite often talking about Sotha Sil, who Vivec says is the selfishness of the sea, and whose ‘daughter’ is Mnemoli/Memory.
Crassius Curio, Time traveller: Another variant on the Crassius Curio plagiarism theory, accounting for why the lusty argonian maid is in ESO.
The Republic of Hahd: Mentioned in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, a group of people who claimed they lived off the coast of summerset, in an underwater civilization called Hahd. The only point in history that they became relevant was when they received tariffs for the transport of ‘mnemolite’ from the people of Hahd to the people of Nahd, and nearly sparked war between the Empire and the Altmer as they tried to figure out what was going on. Hahd and Nahd were both made up, thought to be by a group of psjjic students, as the island of Artaeum disappeared in that same year again.
Leaper Demons: Another name for Mehrunes Dagon, before he was cursed to become Dagon. Named this because of his ability to jump from Kalpa to Kalpa
Zero Stone: This is related to the towers, it’s the ‘heart’ of the tower, the piece that keeps it stable and functioning, essentially like a cornerstone. For the Red Tower and Walk-Brass this was a literal heart (the Heart of Lorkhan), but sometimes it’s other things like a fruit, or a person.
Tiber Septim Awoke Dagoth Ur: In the same short time as the Tiber Wars, where Tiber Septim was attempting to conquer all of Tamriel, Dagoth Ur awoken in Morrowind, which eventually forced ALMSIVI’s hand in signing the Armistice that would make Morrowind a part of the empire, hand over the Numidium, but allow Morrowind to largely keep it’s sovereignty. This theory suggests that Tiber Septim purposefully awoke Dagoth Ur as a long-term strategy, rather than trying to defeat ALMSIVI in wars. If not done purposefully, Dagoth ur may have been awakened by the presence of Tiber Septim (whose thu’um seemed to have came from Wulfharth, a survivor of the battle of Red Mountain and associate of Dagoth Ur)
Akatosh’s Shadow: MK mentioned Peryite as Akatosh’s shadow. Akatosh/Auriel largely introduced stability into the chaos of the Dawn Era as the God of time. Peryite has a similar function, that being natural order, where he micromanages Oblivion and Nirn. There’s more to this theory that i haven’t included due to sake of brevity  https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/4zct3i/the_shadow_of_aka_peryite/
The people of Et’Ada: Mentioned in the books The Light and Dark and Sithis, the people of et’ada are the descendants of the clash between Anu and Padomay, the original spirits that would give up their forms to become mortal
The Dwemer became their creations: A thought that instead of the commonly accepted Numidium Skin Theory, the Dwemer souls are the ones powering their automatons.
Lefthanded Maomer: An in-universe theory that the Lefthanded elves and the Maomer are related. Evidence for this may exist in Orgunm being ‘Sakatal’
Skyrim getting Colder: A theory that says Skyrim is entering the ice age because of the recent snowfalls and the presence of Sabertooth cats and mammoths.
Anti-Magik Zones: Probably taken from D&D, areas where magic doesn’t work for some reason or other.
The Greedy Man: Another name for Lorkhan due to him ‘stealing’ the divinity of his fellow Et’Ada
Vvardenfell Lesbian Anomaly: The prescence of a large amount of wlw npcs in ESO and the presence of Tel Mora, an island full of women and Mistress Dratha who says she hates men. While the ESO one i’d argue that there’s a fairly equal spread of same sex couples, and Tel Mora is certainly the original developers adding in something ‘strange’ by having an entirely female island, various Lgbt fans of the games have made their own theories on this. @boethiah has proposed that Tel Mora was established as a safe place for lesbians, and Telmoran is the in-universe equivalent to ‘lesbian’
Prism Textract: A reference to a book from the mod Legacy of the Dragonborn
Ruptga: The chief god of the Yokudan Pantheon, people debate on whether he’s equivalent to Akatosh or Magnus, if he’s even equivalent to any god. He was the first god to figure out the Walkabout, and taught the other gods how to survive Sakatal (God of everything) shedding its skin.
The Elder Council world control:  References a theory that the Elder Council is an incredibly powerful political entity that controls the entire world. (looking at how things were handled in Oblivion, doubtful.)
Tumblr media
Tiber Septim Shapeshifting dragon: Ingame theories that Tiber Septim was a shapeshifting dragon based on the empire’s affiliation with them. (source seems to originate from GT Noonan, pre-Oblivion and Skyrim) Could be an early idea for Dragonborns, or perhaps just a wild conspiracy theory.
Insane Time-God: Another MK text, et’Ada Eight Aedra, Eat the Dreamer. States Aka has gone insane due to how many names he has
The Staff of Unity and Chaos: The object you need to assemble in tes Arena. Is able to open gateways to other realms, near instantly kill people. In some of the early drafts of the main quest of ESO, a similar relic was proposed called the Staff of Towers, and would have been similar to the main quest of Arena.
Dracocrysalis: Mentioned in the Nu-Mantia, it’s largely unknown what this means apart from ‘it keeps elder magic bound so it can’t change into something lesser’ based off wording it probably means something akin to changing into a dragon.
Telescopic Aurbis: Refers to a quote from MK A single Wheel? More like a Telescope that stretches all the way back to the Eye of the Anui-El, with Padomaics innumerable along its infinite walls. Essentially this refers to the cycle of Kalpas, all wheels lined up with one another would make a telescope-like shape. The focal point of the telescope would be Mundus, ascending upwards you hit oblivion, then Aetherius surrounding that, and then lesser, more chaotic realms beyond that. This is also mentioned in the Murkmire book ‘Lost tales of the Famed Explorer.’
Gaenor is Sai: Gaenor is said to be one of the hardest bosses of Morrowind, in the Tribunal expansion you can give him gold and allow him to become an incredibly strong warrior. He has incredibly high luck (770 points) making him difficult to hit. This theory states that he is either Sai, the god of luck himself, or a champion of his.
Haskill is the Actual Mad God: This might be a couple different theories. 1st: The events of the Shivering Isles is a trick played on the player character by Haskill/Sheogorath, and the Sheo you see and interact with is just a projection. 2nd: From a loremaster interview from ESO, Haskill states he’s the ‘vestige’ of Sheogorath, the mortal remnants of the person who mantled the mad god in the last greymarch.
Moraelyn=Nerevar: Moraelyn of the King Edward books was likely an early draft for Nerevar. Both have association with roses, both are from House Mora and are considered a champion of the Dunmer. He probably participated in the War with the Nords, being described in the 36 Lessons.
Tsaesci Vampire Language eaters: From MK’s And we ate it to become it and another interview. https://www.imperial-library.info/content/fireside-chats Tsaesci feed on language, he doesn’t state if this is metaphorical, or literal (if that even matters in these games)
Scarab’s transformation: Refers to Scarab that Transforms into the New Man, or Amaranth. The Scarab is a metaphor for godhood. (Scarabs are symbols of divinity in Ancient Egypt) and the New Man is a person achieving Amaranth and creating a new dream/universe.
Trinimalarky: A fun name for Malarky.
King Dead Wolf-Deer: A Bosmer transformed by the Wild Hunt. Lived from the first era until the beginning of the third.
Multiple Underkings: Another statement by MK, general consensus seems to be this refers to the existence of the Underking as two people, Wulfharth a nordic general from the 1st era who held the title. Zurin Arctus, who may have taken up the title after the 2nd Era, when Tiber Septim turned him into an undead being. Or both of them sharing the same body known as the ‘Underking’
Thot-Box: https://www.c0da.es/thotbox/7b10359a40bba7d2e654bc10226f694a68009f15 the worlds worst choose your own adventure. From what I understand of KIMMUNE, a thot-box is some sort of AI
Baar Dau is Shit: Pretty well known at this point. One myth states that Malacath got into a disagreement with Vivec and pooped on Vivec City..
Nu-Hatta: In reference to the person, they’re an ancestor cult member. Otherwise this is used to refer to the Nu-Hatta Intercept written by MK. The text in question seems to be a list of the various ways mortals have achieved divinity.
Talos brought back dragons: Not sure about this one, there’s too many results to filter through to find what this is specifically about
Lyg’s Numidium: The thought here is that if Lyg is the parallel to Tamriel, then it should also have a Numidium that reinforces time and makes events a reality.
Dawn Era Ideological warfare: From UESP, Quote: The Dawn Era was a period during which time followed an incomprehensible nonlinear path and the very laws of nature remained unset, making a timeline an artificial fabrication. A conflict was simultaneously a mere ideological difference of opinion and a manifest war. What this means in simple terms, all possible outcomes in the Dawn era were simultaneous. This might also refer to the Ehlnofey wars where the wandering ehlnofey (ancestor of men) and the old ehlnofey (ancestor of mer) differed in opinion about the existence of Mundus and went to war.
Vivec destroyed Yokuda: A reference to the 17th lesson of Vivec, where Vivec states For a year they studied under their sword saints and then for another Vivec taught them the virtue of the little reward. Vivec chose a king for a wife and made another race of monsters which ended up destroying the west completely. In a literal sense (not that this means much in context of the lessons), this seems to indicate that Vivec created the sword saints, who ultimately ended up sinking Yokuda with the Pankratosword technique. Vivec also said malewife rights.
Ayrenn KIMMUNE: Another MK text. This one states Queen Ayrenn is actually a 9th era cyborg from the future. This was written after MK read an early draft for the Dominion quests and wanted to make it cooler. The writers of ESO have stated they don’t consider this canon.
Tiger Guars: A bit of old morrowind lore, Imperials would mistakenly call Guars, ‘tigers’
Hermaeus Mora is a failed Elder Scroll: Two theories here: 1st: The Black Books are Mora’s failed attempts to create Elder Scrolls (The first pages reference concepts such as the Dreamer and CHIM, Elder scrolls are fragments of creation) 2nd: Hermaeus Mora himself is a failed Elder Scroll. The Census of Daedric Princes describes him as ‘born of thrown-away ideas used during the creation of Mundus’
SITHISIT: the Ehlnofex word for Sithis
Khajiit Tattoo theft: Rajhin the thief god was said to steal a tattoo off Empress Kintyra’s neck as she slept.
Mythopoeia: irl, it’s essentially a term for ‘world-building’ In the context of the elder scrolls, it means the ability to affect reality using belief or the will to change (similar to CHIM) In morrowind Yagrum uses it to describe the enchantments Kagrenac placed upon the tools.
Dragons Biological Time-Machines: In the early drafts for dragons, MK described them as Biological Time-Machines. While this isn’t entirely reflective of what they are now, some truth holds. Being shards of Aka, dragons inherently have some ability to alter time itself.
Argonian Tits: I can’t keep doing this.
The Elven Lie: From what I gather, it seems to relate to the idea that the gods are infallible, when in fact they have weaknesses and flaws.
