I just finished watching SvtFoE (finally) and I'm SO confused right now.
First of all, Ponyhead? She's just a floating horse head? How does that work in a world without magic? How does she still float???
Second, was Mewni only connected to the Earth? I thought there were many universes, maybe Amphibia and the wizard world of The Owl House and maybe the universe where the weird monsters from Gravity Falls come from, all connected in the same multiverse, but maybe not?? How does destroying magic affects the other universes?? Maybe it's just it's own separate story and I was making connections for no reason (since Disney has a thing for tv shows about parallel universes).
And third, what the fuck?? Mewni just had to deal with their racism issues and now they have to deal with 8 billion confused, terrified humans who are very much prone to racism and xenophobia?? Why??

If I had a nickel for every Disney show that had a storyline and villain built up over the course of Season 2 to be concluded in a series of specials in Season 3, where the villain turns into a dark sludgy nightmare goo form and nightmarishly survives something extremely brutal, I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice

Star vs ending: destroys all magic and merges both dimensions
Amphibia ending: separates the main characters from the other dimension forever
The Owl House ending: main character has a way of going back and forth between dimensions, and while her usual way of doing magic is gone, there’s a new one being discovered

SVTFOE - Dress Torn and Battle Worn Chapter 2
If you don't like needle descriptions you might wanna skip the paragraph where Abigail counts down, and a couple sentences after, "Yeah," Star answers meekly. I kept it minor but I figured I should give a warning anyway.
Is it the autistic vibe to hate thick syrupy medicine and need to hold your nose to make it tolerable? I don't think that's enough to tag Autistic Star Butterfly but you can read it that way if you like.
Rated T. Warnings: Blood and Stitches | Chapter 1
My writing masterpost includes the link to my AO3 page, which you can read this on there if it’s easier. In addition to more writing, I’ve also been working on a sideblog related to some Star vs edits, if you’re at all interested you can see them here. I also started a SVTFOE canon divergent comic, page 1 is here.
Marco owes Tom an apology. Star still needs stitches.
Post-Episode s3 ep 38 Conquer. Minor TomStar. Two-shot.
Abigail returned to Star with a damp cloth and began wiping away some of the dried blood from her elbow and then moved to her back. Star winced but stayed quiet. “Most of these will need to be stitched,” she indicated. “She certainly roughed you up. I hope you don't have plans of going anywhere tonight.”
“Just back to my room, if I can,” Star muttered. Abigail came around to Star's front and wiped down the cut across her thigh.
“I would avoid walking on this leg if you're able. We have crutches if you like, or I can have the guards bring you down on a stretcher.”
“I really don't want to do that,” she deadpanned.
“Well the more you walk on it, the poorer and longer it will take to heal. Someone should help you to bed if you won't stay here,” Abigail pointed out. She pulled some gauze from the end table and set it on Star's thigh injury. “Keep pressure on it while I go get the stitch kit.” She left Star through the curtain. Star pressed on the wound as she waited.
“Here's your ice pack, Prince Thomas,” Jeffery offered, handing the cold pack to him. “Would you like some pain tonic?”
“Yeah, that'd be good,” Tom replied, voice calmed since the Mewman had left and come back. He pressed the ice pack to the injury and faint steam lines could already be seen from where he touched it to the back of his head.
“If you could take your armor when you sit beside your friend, I'd appreciate it,” Jefferey remarked, walking over to the supply cabinet. He pulled out a small glass and a bottle with a cork, labeled on it's face with an old-timey script on a weathered parchment background. He uncorked the bottle on the desk, pouring the purple syrupy liquid into the glass where Marco could see, then recapping the cork. The medic put away the bottle and crossed the room. He pulled the curtain aside and handed Tom the medicine. Tom chugged the small amount down before handing the glass back to Jeffery. “When you're ready, take a seat over there,” he said, pointing next to Marco. Tom tucked the pauldron and chest-plate under his free arm and strode over to his friend. He set the armor into the seat next to him before looking back to Marco. Jeffery retreated into the back room and once Marco's bed was finished being made, Lorna retrieved another sheet to set Tom's with clean bedding.
“You want me to zip that for you?” Tom asked quietly, pointing to the back of the dress.
“Nah, I'm a bit warm actually. This is fine,” Marco replied, matching his tone.
“Should I move over?” Tom suggested.
“I'm good. Don't worry about it,” Marco answered. He gave a wry smile. “How'd that stuff taste? Didn't look very good from over here.”
“Eh, I'm used to it.”
“You get into enough scraps to need it?”
“I was a real punk before, and a little after we met. You bet I got into stupid fights when I was younger.”
The sound of a lantern being lit drew Marco's eyes across the room. He couldn't see what Abigail was doing from behind the curtain, but he felt ill at ease.
“Let's start with this one in the back,” she confirmed.
“Okay,” Star replied hesitantly. With her arm not holding the gauze in place on her thigh she gripped the cot. “Ready.” She tried to stay still.
“And 3, 2, 1.” Abigail counted down. The first prick of the needle was hot on her skin. Star let out a muffled whine as she gripped the bed tighter.
Marco shifted in his seat, half standing, when Tom set his free hand on his shoulder pulling him back down. Marco looked Tom in the eye, seeing a passive, neutral expression.
“She's alright, don't worry,” he whispered.
“But—” Marco softly argued before Tom cut him off.
“They sterilize the needle with heat before they stitch you up. Yeah, it hurts, but she's in good hands. They know what they're doing.” Tom paused. They could hear a quiet hitched breath from behind the curtain. “Well it hurts if you don't have heat immunity. One advantage to being demonic.”
Marco let his shoulders sink down but said nothing. He glanced back to where Star was.
“You mind if we talk about something else?” Tom asked quietly. “Something to keep your mind off of it.”
“Yeah. That’s fine,” Marco replied. He looked back to Tom. Tom frowned and glanced away before taking a deep breath.
“Alright,” he started, meeting Marco’s eyes. “You said you weren’t bluffing. What did you mean when you said you kissed Star?” Marco felt guilt pit into his stomach. He opened his mouth but closed it when he realized Tom wasn’t done. “Was it like one of those weird human traditions where you have to kiss someone at a certain place for a holiday? Or what?”
“I won’t lie to you Tom,” he whispered, looking down at the ground. “It was at the wedding. I—” Tom searched Marco’s face, a disappointed frown graced his features, but let him continue. “She wanted to do photo booth photos and it was acting up. We got told by this Booth Repair Technician Goblin, his name was Ben Fotino, that the booth was locked 'til we took the photo the booth was waiting for. He had taken it to some repair shop warehouse and we were stuck inside.” Marco looked back up to Tom. “We spent over six-hundred dollars in it and were down to our last five. I know it sounds crazy, but I thought that that might be what the booth was waiting for.” He paused and they heard Star hissing through her teeth from behind the curtain. “So I kissed her. She didn’t want that, she immediately looked at me like I was out of my mind. She was shocked and upset, and that’s when Ben revealed it was a ploy. He said we ‘looked like two young'uns who needed a smooch.’” He imitated the goblin's accent, but not very well, and then looked back at the curtain again. “I felt like such an idiot. I never should have done it, it was clear that was the wrong move, and you don’t have to worry about it happening again. I’m sorry.”
“You promise, that everything you just told me was true?” Tom plead, voice hushed.
“I promise,” Marco assured, looking Tom in the eye again. “On my life.”
“Okay.” Tom looked back over to where Star was as he mulled over the information. After a moment he said, “I believe you. She was acting weird after the booth... Now I know why.”
“I know that was incredibly stupid of me, and it was also pretty nasty of me to use that to try and get you to ditch me back in the woods with that. I was kind of surprised you didn’t punch me for it.”
“I was hoping you were lying there so you wouldn’t have deserved it. So I held back.”
Marco hesitated before asking, “do I deserve it now?”
“If Meteroa hadn’t roughed you up so much, maybe. But I think you’ve had enough punishment for one day.”
“I understand if you don’t forgive me.”
“I’m gonna need a little while to think about it. Today was... a lot.”
“If you decide you don’t want to be friends anymore, I get it.”
“I never said that. I don’t think I’d go that far.” Tom paused. “The old me would. But I’ve been working hard to be a better me.” The pair went silent.
“It’s just the elbow left now dear. Then we’ll tidy everything and get you wrapped up,” Abigail advised Star.
“Mmm-hmm,” Star answered, voice wavering. “Can you hold on a minute, Miss Abagail?” Star pushed herself onto her good foot, hopping to the curtain. She poked her head out of the area where the two curtains met, curling the cloth so the boys could only see her from the neck up and cleared her throat. “Hey, Marco,” she called to him. Her eyes looked a bit red but her expression was neutral. “Can you get me a change of clothes from my room since you’re finished already? I really would rather not wear one of those scratchy gowns they have here.” As Lorna was tucking the fresh sheet into the bed Tom had sat on, she gave the teen a disapproving look. “No offense.” Lorna clucked her tongue disappointedly.
Marco got to his feet. “Sure. Any preference?”
“Anything that matches. And I’ll just wear my current shoes until I get back to my room.”
“Ok,” Marco replied.
“How you feeling, Tom?” She asked sweetly.
“It’s not too bad,” he replied. She gave a tiny smile to both Marco and Tom, then tucked her head back behind the curtain, hobbling back to the bed. It gave a creak beneath her weight as she sat down. Lorna, having completed her task gave a nod to the boys before taking her leave into the back room.
Marco took his scissors out, stepping out into the hall. “Be back in a minute,” he announced over his shoulder before opening a portal in front of him. He stepped through and Tom heard the "vvmn" sound of it closing. He directed his focus back to Star behind the curtain, resting his hands in his lap.
“Last few now, just try to keep steady,” Abigail remarked.
“Yeah,” Star answered meekly. The last few stitches were sewn in quickly and with a snip of the scissors they were done. Amelia briskly exited the curtained off cot and reentered with a clean damp cloth to clear away the injury sites. She began wrapping them with the bandages when the sound of ripping into space caused Star to jump onto her one good leg.
“Don't hop off until I'm done, Your Grace,” the medic urged.
“Just a sec,” Star replied, taking two tiny bounces toward the curtain. She stuck her head and hand out of the gap between them. “Marco, you got me my clothes?” She made a grasping motion as Marco stepped closer from in front of the entrance.
“Yeah, and there's something else,” he answered, the Edgar dress and pale green striped leggings in his hands. He gestured with his head to the doorway.
“It can wait, now gimme,” reaching the injured arm out further to snatch the clothing out of Marco's hands. As she pulled the items closer, she noticed a bald head peek in through the doorway. Her eyes widened as her eyes met her father's. “Dad?” she exclaimed. “I'm gonna need a minute to get finished with this and get changed, just hang tight.”
“Alright, pumpkin,” the king replied, voice wavering with barely restrained emotion. “Take your time.” She slipped back through the curtain and limped onto the cot. Marco turned back and sat next to Tom, and they waited in silence. Tom slipped off the melted ice pack and sat it down on the seat with his armor.
“No more interruptions, now.” Abigail ordered. Star nodded and the medic finished wrapping the stitched cuts. She added a few smaller bandages to the minor scrapes, two along her ribs and the one at the corner of her jaw. “Now we're finished. You can get dressed, and don't forget these clothes. You want a bit of pain tonic before you go? It may help you sleep better.”
“Okay,” Star abided, slipping the Edgar dress over her head and tugging her leggings over her socks. As Abigail left, Star stood back on her good leg, hobbling over to the wall so she could lean against it to maintain her balance while pulling the leggings up all the way. The medic returned with the glass half-full of tonic and pulled the curtain aside. Star sat back down once more to put on her shoes and then accepted the medicine. She held her nose as she gulped it down. Coughing, she handed the glass back to Abigail, who went back to sit at her desk.
Once Star caught her breath, she looked back to River. He stepped closer. “Thanks for waiting,” she said to him with a smile. He closed the distance as she got to her feet and he hugged her around her waist. “I missed you too Dad,” as he sniffed into her dress. “I'm glad you're okay.”
“Oh sweetie,” he replied, voice choked up. “Just look at you. I'm so proud of you for defending the castle.” She hugged him back, leaning her face over his shoulder.
“I did what I could,” she mumbled. “The throne room got pretty trashed.”
“Never mind that. The monster is gone and—” Star interrupted River before he could finish.
“You didn't see Mom when you were trying to stop Meteora, did you?” She asked tonelessly.
“‘Fraid not. But we'll get her back. You came back, so she must be in the kingdom somewhere.”
“Yeah,” she replied, stepping back. “If I wasn't so spent, I'd try to do a flyby of the Groundlands but I don't have the energy at all.”
“We'll start the search in the morning,” he assured her. She gave a weak smile. “Now I heard you're going to need to rest that leg,” he pointed to the leg she kept hovering off the floor. “So you're coming with me.” He hoisted her into a seated position on his shoulder, keeping her steady with his hand on her uninjured leg.
“Daaaaad!” She gave an exasperated groan. She looked to the boys, who watched the scene unfold silently, looking on with mild surprise. Her cheeks were flush and she pouted. “I'm too old for this. Put me down.” River frowned sternly.
“Not a chance. I won't be too old for this until you're 30.” He looked over to Tom and Marco. “So let's get moving.” They took the cue to stand and River marched through the door.
“Wait, my clothes! Hold on, Dad,” she argued but he didn't stop. “Can one of you grab them?” she called to Tom and Marco.
“I got it,” Marco replied, taking one step through the doorway and cupping his mouth to be heard as River was already halfway down the hall. He stepped over to the bed, picking up her dress and leggings. His eyes caught the dots of blood splattering the sheet and he tried not to think about it as he walked up to Tom. The prince had already picked up his armor pieces and the two moved to the door. “Thanks,” Marco said, turning to Abigail before the pair left.
“Farewell and take care,” she remarked with a wave. He gave a tiny bow, Tom following his lead and they both walked through the doorway. They could see River with Star still over his shoulder at the end of the hall, nearing the stairwell, but the boys kept a modest walk, not having any desire to keep to the King's pace.
“I'm just gonna say goodnight once she gets settled in and I'll catch up with you tomorrow,” Tom offered as they continue through the hall.
“Sounds like a plan,” Marco replied.
“Do you...” Tom trailed off before taking a deep breath and started again. “Do you know why she didn't tell me about the kiss? Why I had to find out like this?”
“I know, I'm sorry I did that to you.”
“Look, I'm not a mind reader. I'm just trying to get some insight as to why she kept it a secret. I didn't even find out about that butterfly form she could do until today. I feel in the dark on a lot of stuff right now.”
“I can't tell you,” Marco answered with a muted tone.
“So you know and aren't allowed to say?” Tom asked accusingly.
“I don't know the reason.” Marco explained sympathetically. “I could guess, maybe she was trying to protect me in case finding that out caused a fight between the two of us, but I can't say for sure why. There's been a lot going on since then, my only other thought is she had too much on her mind.”
“And the butterfly form?” Tom coaxed, more softly and calmly than before.
“I know her mom can do it, but other than that I just know she only recently got the hang of it. Can't tell you any more than that.”
“So that one's a secret.”
“It was.”
Tom sighed, “right.” The two made it to the stairs and continued their way to Star's bedroom in silence. The soft footsteps, swishing of Marco's dress fabric and light clink of Tom's plate echoed through the castle passageways. As they approached, they heard the impatient ramble of Star's voice come through her doorway. Tom stepped to the side and tossed the armor pieces into a fire portal before they continued up to Star's door.
“I'll tell you everything, after I say goodnight to Tom and Marco. It's too much to fill you in right now. I'm sure they'll be here soon.”
“Those boys need to work at being in better shape if I can get that far ahead of them with you on my back at my age.”
“They also fought Meteora while I was gone. I'm sure they just are sore and tired. There was no rush to get me back here.”
“Still. I'm fit as a fiddle after that battle.”
“It really shouldn't affect your opinion of them that much...”
Tom stepped up to the doorway. “I hope it made you see me as tougher than before,” he bragged. Star's face went from irritated to eager as she saw him. She tried hopping over but he crossed the room in a few long strides and set his hands gently on her shoulders. “Don't try too hard on my account,” he flirted. Marco walked in, setting Star's clothing on the dresser, and stood back, near River.
“Tom,” she whined, blushing. She took a breath and smiled at him. “Thank you for today. I'm really grateful for everything you did. I don't think I could have done it without you.” Tom's smile twitched slightly.
“I'm glad I was here for you. But I think it's time I head home. Call me if you need anything?” he offered. She leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek and he did the same for her.
“I'll catch up with you tomorrow,” she replied. “Good night.”
“Good night, Starship.” He helped guide her back to her seat on the bed and then flourished flames out all around him. He and his portal vanished with a wisp of smoke. Star turned back to Marco.
“My loyal squire,” she remarked warmly, “I want to thank you too. For everything.” He came over and gave her a gentle hug which she reciprocated.
“I'd do it all again if I had to,” he half-whispered as they pulled away. “Is there anything else you need?”
“Dad and I have it handled from here,” she informed him softly. “Just get some rest. I'll see you in the morning.”
“Night,” he answered, and then walked toward the door. “Night, King River.”
“Good night, m' boy,” River answered, and then Marco stepped through the doorway, closing it behind him. River snatched up Star's desk chair, and moved toward Star's bedside. He nearly tripped over an axe, and the chair smushed a bag of Cornritos as he stumbled, but he made it to his destination. He sat in the chair and stared at Star expectantly. “Now tell me everything,” he commanded.
“Okay, let me get the hard part out of the way.”
“Well I know that your Mother's still missing. You explained everything with that when I found you in bed.”
“There's another hard part.”
“How bad could it be?”
“You may have noticed I don't have the wand right now.”
“I thought you had it in your hair. I've seen you do that before.”
“It's gone.”
“Where gone?”
“I gave it away.”
“WHAT!”
-----------
Author’s note: I'm not continuing after the end, I just wanted to leave the conversation on a funny note. You could absolutely write that scene, but I thought it was a good place to stop.
For Tom and Marco's conversation, the omitting of certain details about why the kiss happened felt like it was the most likely scenario that would lead into Lake House Fever's conversation between Tom and Star, and later the story of Marco's true feelings from Blood Moon Curse. Everything Marco said really happened, but he didn't tell the whole story.
I have other ideas for the few weeks between this and the beginning of Butterfly Follies, but no clue when I plan on working on that. The line from Beach Day, Star mentioning to Father Time "Some days, knowing I'd be this happy was the only thing that kept me going." is the kind of thing that makes my heart hurt, and that's what I write about. Please enjoy suffering with me if you think about that kind of thing too much like me.
Thanks for reading, I would love hearing any feedback, especially if I made you laugh or cry. Those kinds of comments make my day.

Why I Think The Royal Magic Wand Took The Form That It Did For Some Of The Past Rulers Of Mewni
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be going over my thoughts on why the Royal Magic Wand took the form that it did for some of the past rulers of Mewni. As shown in the episode ‘Star Comes To Earth’, the Royal Magic Wand takes a different form depending on who is wielding it. So, I’ll be going over some of the rulers of Mewni and how each of their version of the Royal Magic Wand corresponds to each of them. Also, Spoiler Alert for the Star VS The Forces Of Evil TV series and the Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media
I think that the reason why Queen Skywynne’s version of the Royal Magic Wand had a clock on it is pretty self-explanatory. After all, as shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Queen Skywynne had quite a few spells that manipulate time. And as also shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Queen Skywynne saw time as an infinite paradox when she first grabbed the Royal Magic Wand. So, that probably also caused it to have a clock motif. Queen Skywynne’s version of the Royal Magic Wand also had black onyx crystal that made up the hands on its clock and black onyx crystal also partly powers Queen Skywynne’s version of the Royal Magic Wand as shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter. I heard that the color black is sometimes associated with regeneration and new beginnings which makes it fitting for Queen Skywynne since, as stated in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter, she was the first queen to write in the new Magic Book Of Spells since the old one was also destroyed in a fire and, despite the loss of almost all the knowledge of magic from her ancestors, created some really powerful spells like the Infuriating Repeater spell which helped construct a new and better version of Butterfly Castle after the old version was destroyed in said fire. I think that’s pretty much regeneration from the destruction of almost all the knowledge from Queen Skywynne’s ancestors and the destruction of the old version of Butterfly Castle. And it marked a new beginning for the Butterfly family just like how the hands on a clock mark the time of the day. Queen Skywynne persevered through that fearful and dark time which makes it fitting that black onyx crystal helps to power her wand since I heard that black onyx crystal is associated with overcoming overwhelming fears and worries. As shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter, Queen Skywynne’s wand also had ringing bells on it that make a sound that could only be heard by dogs, ferrets and pig-goats. I think that’s fitting since, as shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter, Skywynne is loyal to her kingdom just like how a dog is loyal to their owner, is intelligent just like a ferret and has an immense desire to learn more about magic spells just like how a pig-goat, as shown in the Moon The Undaunted chapter, has an immense desire for food. And I think the ringing bells on top of the clock on Queen Skywynne’s wand are also fitting because just like how an alarm clock rings to signal a person to wake up, the kingdom of Mewni rang its bell to signal Queen Skywynne to stay awake to serve it and Skywynne did just that by not following her lazy mother’s example as shown in the Skywynne Queen Of Hours chapter.
Tumblr media
As shown in the Jushtin The Uncalculated chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Jushtin’s version of the Royal Magic Wand is a pink and white striped cane with a living alligator head and a heart with wings on it. And as also shown in the Jushtin The Uncalculated chapter, Jushtin was pretty upbeat. I think that the pink and white striped cane part of Jushtin’s wand was a nod to how upbeat Jushtin was. After all, the pink and white striped cane does kinda look like a candy cane and candy canes seem to convey cheerfulness and optimism. As for the living alligator head, I think that came from the fact that Jushtin is, as shown in the Jushtin The Uncalculated chapter, very loyal to his family and to his kingdom. After all, as stated in the Jushtin The Uncalculated chapter, the living alligator head on Jushtin’s wand never bites their Jushtin since he’s their ‘dad’ and they love him. And I think the heart with wings came from Jushtin’s love for the people around him. After all, as shown in the Jushtin The Uncalculated chapter, Jushtin loved his mother Skywynne, his math tutor and his “Boy-Prince Cru”.
Tumblr media
As shown in the Solaria The Monster Carver chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Solaria’s version of the Royal Magic Wand is a sword that harnesses aggression. I think the reason for that is so obvious that I don’t think it has to be explained that much. After all, as shown in the Solaria The Monster Carver chapter, Solaria seems to love fighting and is also extremely aggressive to the point of taking cruel enjoyment out of the deaths of monsters.
Tumblr media
As shown in the Eclipsa The Queen Of Darkness chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Queen Eclipsa’s version of the Royal Magic Wand is an umbrella. I think the reason why that is the case is because of how Eclipsa coped with her trauma. As shown in the episode ‘Moon The Undaunted’, Eclipsa was frozen in a crystal for generations. Also, as shown in the episode ‘Butterfly Trap’, Eclipsa was labeled as evil for marrying a monster named Globgor and Eclipsa’s daughter Meteora was taken away from her after she was frozen in that crystal. So, Eclipsa has suffered quite a lot over the course of her life. But, despite that, Eclipsa seems pretty calm and optimistic. For example, as shown in the episode ‘Stranger Danger’, Eclipsa seemed pretty calm despite everything that she’s been through. Picture Eclipsa’s trauma as a rainstorm and Eclipsa’s rather surprising ability to cope with it as an umbrella. The proverbial umbrella that is Eclipsa’s ability to cope with her trauma helped to at least more or less persevere through the proverbial rainstorm that is her trauma. So, I think that Eclipsa’s wand taking the form of an umbrella symbolized her ability to cope with her trauma.
Tumblr media
As shown in Crescenta The Eager chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Queen Crescenta has quite an overinflated ego and, if her spells are any indication, seemed to have a screw loose. That makes it quite ironic that Crescenta’s version of the Royal Magic Wand has 3 hearts on it. One heart made of ruby. One heart with a ribbon wrapped around it. And one heart right above the crystal heart. In the Crescenta The Eager chapter, Crescenta claimed that a heart on her wand meant that she had a big heart and truly wanted to help her kingdom. But given that, as also shown in the Crescenta The Eager chapter, Crescenta not only had an oversized ego but also came up with the Monster Arm spell and a spell to turn her sister into a wolf, I doubt that’s the case. So, I think those 3 hearts on Crescenta’s wand mean something else. Here’s a metaphor to explain what I think the ruby heart means. Crescenta had a heart frozen in ruby. As everyone knows, a frozen heart is a metaphor used to describe someone who is apathetic and detached from the people around them. And like I pointed out, Crescenta came up with spells like the Monster Arm spell and a spell to turn her sister into a wolf. So, in that regard, Crescenta definitely has a frozen heart. As for the part about Crescenta’s heart being frozen in ruby, I think that reflects Crescenta’s ego and pride. After all, just like how a ruby can gleam in the light, Crescenta likes to gleam in the spotlight. There’s also something else I noticed about the crystal heart on Crescenta’s wand. It’s on a purple heart and around that, an outline of a yellow heart. I heard that the color purple is associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition which corresponds well with Crescenta’s personality since, as shown in the Crescenta The Eager chapter, she had an ambitious desire to become queen. I also heard that the color yellow is associated with joy and happiness which corresponds disturbingly well with how Crescenta, as also shown in the Crescenta The Eager chapter, used a spell on herself to remove all negativity from her mind in order to stay optimistic and cheerful. In this regard, I also think it’s fitting that the outline of the yellow heart is around the purple heart since, as shown in the Crescenta The Eager chapter, the reason why Crescenta used that spell on herself to remove all the negativity from her mind and stay cheerful was in order to help prepare herself for her royal duties and thus fulfill her ambitions as a royal. That means that Crescenta’s desire to be happy and cheerful was a byproduct of her ambitions as a royal. And I think the reason why the ruby heart is in the center of the purple heart and the yellow heart is because the crystal heart, as I explained earlier, reflects Crescenta’s desire to be in the spotlight which is right in the center of and also what sparked Crescenta’s ambitions as a royal that the purple heart reflects which then sparked Crescenta’s desire to be happy and cheerful that the yellow heart reflects. Also, there’s another heart right above the ruby heart, the purple heart and the yellow heart. I think that heart reflects how much Crescenta puts her heart into her exploits in order to fulfill her desires and ambitions. After all, as stated in the Crescenta The Eager chapter, while Crescenta does indeed have an overinflated ego, she at least works hard to get to where she is partly because she did join the Junior Castle Guard in order to keep watch over the castle during the night. There’s also one more heart with a ribbon-like bow right below the ruby heart, the purple heart and the yellow heart. I think that heart with the ribbon-like bow around it reflects Crescenta’s love for her status. Ironically, I also think that’s why there are swan feathers attached to the heart with the ribbon-like bow. I heard that swan feathers are sometimes considered a warning that something is out of balance. I think that’s fitting because, while status and power are good and all, they can’t love a person back.

As shown in the Comet The Chef chapter of the Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Comet loved cooking and making food. I think that makes it fitting that Queen Comet’s wand crystal was, as stated in the Comet The Chef chapter, made of a type of quartz called Baker’s Quartz since I heard that quartz is a great countertop material for those who like to cook and bake. I think Comet loving to cook and make food also makes it fitting that her wand handle, as also stated in the Comet The Chef chapter, was a rolling dowel which is a tool for making food. And as stated in the Comet The Chef chapter, Comet’s wand also had hearts and angel-like wings on it. I think that represents how Comet, as shown in the Comet The Chef chapter, was very kind to the point that she wanted to make peace with all of monster kind. That’s very impressive considering the fact that, as far as recorded Mewni history is concerned, Comet was the only royal besides Queen Eclipsa and Star Butterfly who wanted to do so.

As shown in the Moon The Undaunted chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Queen Moon used to be pretty optimistic and happy but then was deeply traumatized by the death of her mother. And as also shown in the Moon The Undaunted chapter, the crystal on Moon’s wand was heart-shaped and a type of crystal from the Crystal Dimension that was almost indestructible. I think that’s fitting since Moon’s heart used to be full of happiness and optimism before then being hardened by the death of her mother. I think that the fact that it was an almost indestructible type of crystal represented just how hardened Moon’s heart was. After all, Moon’s heart was hardened to the point that, as shown in the episode ‘Mr. Candle Cares’, when Star asked Moon: “Are you happy?”, Moon responded with: “Happy? What difference does that make?”. And as stated in the Moon The Undaunted chapter, Moon’s wand handle was made of Snakewood, a material that’s found in the Neverzone, a region in Dimension X-103. And as shown in the episode ‘Running With Scissors’, time in Dimension X-103 flows differently to the point that 16 years in Dimension X-103 and, by extension, the Neverzone equals 8 minutes on Earth which caused Marco Diaz to become an adult while he was there whereas all of his friends on Earth were still teenagers. I think this is a nod to how Moon, as shown in the episode ‘Moon The Undaunted’, was forced to, at least metaphorically, grow up as if she were an adult despite the fact that she was still a teenager at the time.

As shown in the Star The Underestimated chapter of Star VS The Forces Of Evil: The Magic Book Of Spells, Star’s version of the Royal Magic Wand has what seems to be one star on top of another one with 5 hearts around it. And as shown in the episode ‘Star Comes To Earth’, Star is incredibly optimistic and is an extremely passionate person. So, I think the star represents Star’s optimism since, as probably knows, looking to the stars is sometimes associated with feeling hope and the 5 hearts represent Star’s passion since being passionate about something means, metaphorically speaking, pouring your heart into it. I think this might also explain why Star can be so chaotic sometimes which was something that was demonstrated in the episode ‘Star VS. Echo Creek’ where Star got into a sugar rush and accidentally destroyed a police car. After all, having too much of the hopes and dreams of an optimist combined with too much of the heart and drive of a passionate person could cause someone to have so much heart and drive to achieve their hopes and dreams that they might take things too far. There’s also a butterfly with a couple of angel-like wings right next to it. I heard that butterflies symbolize change and transformation. So, I think that represents how Star changed when it came to her view of monster-kind. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Lobster Claws’, Star used to think that monsters were nothing but evil but as shown in the episode ‘Mewnipendence Day’, Star’s view on monsters changed to the point that she let Buff-Frog go and later gave him some corn. And I think the angel-like wings represent the kindness Star showed as a result. Also, I think that Star’s wand crystal being yellow represents Star’s optimism. As I said earlier, Star is pretty optimistic and as I also said earlier, I heard that the color yellow is sometimes associated with happiness.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.
