jealous stiles; kissing; sorry no actual p in v — stiles getting jealous over the blooming friendship between you and the twins
Tumblr media
"I want one." Lydia said, eyes focused behind you and Allison.
You both turn in your chairs to see the two new twins talking by a bookshelf. "Which one?" Allison asked, turning back. You kept your gaze on the twins, mainly for the fact that they were said—by your strange friend group—to be alphas.
Why they chose to go to school you could only guess. Most likely not to actually enjoy classes, but to keep an eye on said strange friend group.
"The straight one." You answered for Lydia. "I'd hope." You turn back in your chair to see Lydia narrowing her eyes.
You smile, just as Stiles slumps in the free chair beside you. Scott taking one beside Lydia. You glance back around at the twins, tilting your head in a slight observation.
Then you feel a poke on your arm. You turn your head to face Stiles, who is eyeing you with furrowed brows. "What are you looking at?"
"Our new classmates." You say, gazing back.
"You know they're alphas, right?" Stiles asks, making you nod. "Like, deadly...scary alphas?" He re-asks narrowing his eyes, as you chuckle.
"I heard they can shift into...like...one big werewolf." You say, in slight awe.
Stiles scoffs. "It's not that impressive."
"It kind of is." You mutter. Then you hear your seat scraping against the floor as Stiles jolts you around to face away from the twins.
"Do you know the distinction between friends and enemies?" Stiles asks, making you scoff. "Scott, did you know that y/n's rather stupid?" He asks Scott, making you elbow his arm.
"Yeah. She thinks the twins are cool." He continues, as you try to shut him up with your hand.
"I'm not the only one." You say defensively, before gesturing to Lydia, who is still eyeing up the straight twin.
"Well that's...Lydia." Stiles grabs your wrist, removing your hand from his mouth.
"Wow, your reasoning is impeccable, Stiles."
Stiles tilts his head at your sarcasm, the edges of his lips curving up a fraction. You get your wrist out of his grip before looking at Lydia—Allison and Scott caught up in conversation. "It's called having taste, Stiles."
Stiles raises his brows. "Taste?" He nearly exclaims. "Did you get hit in the head?"
"Alright...I'm gonna head to science." You say, ignoring stiles, standing, as the others spare you 'goodbyes'.
Stiles calls to your leaving form. "You have zero taste, y/n. Nada!"
You chuckle as you walk out into the hall. Stiles has been your best friend for almost forever. You enjoyed his jokes and even his incessant sarcasm. But you hated the fact that whenever he smiled butterflies would swarm your stomach. Whenever he would look at you a certain way your cheeks would pinken.
You had to brush it all way, knowing he wouldn't feel the same. And ruining such a long friendship would be horrible. Your mind is caught as you nearly collide with someone.
"Shit— sorry." You say looking up, holding a tighter grip on your notes.
One of the alpha twins stares back at you, a small smirk edging his lips. You quickly take in his appearance and the way he holds himself. "And I'd take it your the...straight one?"
He chuckles before beginning to nod. "Aiden." He introduces.
You nod. "Nice to meet you."
He raises his brows awaiting your own introduction. You go to speak, opening your mouth, but pause, seeming to remember exactly who Aiden is. "Will I be in danger if you know my name?" You whisper ask.
Aiden leans down to whisper back. "You might be safe."
"I might?" You ask, raising your brows.
Aiden smirks. "A pretty face usually makes it far."
Your mouth partly opens in slight shock. "Ha. So, you are a flirt." You straighten up. "Lydia's gonna love you."
"Mm, and what about you?" He asks, brushing a strand of hair away from your shoulder.
You chuckle. "Again—Lydia's gonna love you." You then step around him, walking into your class.
Stiles had seen one of the alpha twins follow you out. And of course, with a narrowed gaze—he followed him. He stopped upon seeing the twin speaking to you. Stiles' grip on the doorway was tight as he watched. A scowl formed as he saw the twin brush your hair over your shoulder, you chuckling about something.
What the hell were you talking about?—Stiles wondered, wishing he had scott's hearing. His stomach had tightened the moment he saw you with him. Hating seeing you smile at the enemy. But it wasn't just for the sake that it was the twin you were talking to. Stiles would feel like it no matter what dude it was. He wanted you to smile at him like that. Not someone else.
When you passed the twin for your class Stiles saw the way he eyed your form before leaving for his own class. Stiles scoffed to himself, glaring holes into the back of the alpha's head. No way was that beast getting you.
A few days had passed and through the halls you had caught yourself talking to the twins. It started off brief, just passing nods and a few hello's. But then you started picking up conversations where you'd left off the next time you'd pass eachother.
Stiles saw as you would wave at them or smile, them cracking a joke or a compliment. On the occasion that he would walk with you, Stiles' expression couldn't be more gloomy. You'd bump his shoulder making a comment on the "glare" he'd mastered, but Stiles' couldn't laugh, only hearing Aiden's compliments on your outfit or hair.
At first he didn't want to acknowledge that he was jealous. Because then he'd have to remember his large crush on you. He had had to push it away, knowing you wouldn't feel the same. You were freinds, and Stiles hid behind that concept, forcing himself to reason his glares to him just being a good friend, not wanting you to date someone like Aiden.
But once the days drew out, you and the twins seeming to grow closer, Stiles finally accepted his jealousy. You were his friend not there's. So, when he saw you smile and blush at a compliment Aiden gave you, he couldn't help himself but grab your wrist and pull you somewhere secluded.
You swiftly turned to face Stiles as you stared at him in confusion. You both are in the boys locker room, it being empty—the laccrosse team not practicing today. "What the hell-"
"What the hell is that?" Stiles cuts you off angrily. You stare at him, brows furrowing.
"What?"
"That." Stiles gestured to the now closed door. "Them. The twins."
"Aiden and Ethan?" You ask.
Stiles scoffs at the first name basis. "Yeah, Aiden and Ethan."
"What about them?" You slowly ask, never really having seen Stiles so mad.
Stiles clenches his jaw, all the past days annoyance bubbling up. "What about them? Really, y/n?"
Your still displaying confusion, as Stiles steps closer. "Why the fuck are you talking to them?"
"You're mad at me becasue I've said hi?"
"Oh, you've said more than hi." Stiles scoffs. "You keep talking with them in the halls as if your the closest of friends."
"Look Stiles, I know you don't like them. And I know they aren't particually saints. But if you spoke to them you'd realise how not in control they are. Deucalion—"
"I don't care for their sobstory, y/n. And you shouldn't either. You barely know them." Stiles has progressively gotten closer, before he's backing away, running his hands through his hair in annoyance. "God." He mutters.
"Stiles." You say, making him meet your gaze. "What is this?" Your tone has stayed calm, not wanting to start an arguement with Stiles of all people. "Are you okay?"
"No, y/n. I'm not." He finally says, fully stepping closer. You slightly stumble back at how swift his movement was. "Why do you want to talk to them?"
"Stiles, they...they're nice. They make me feel good, strangely enough."
"They make you feel good?" Stiles asks, eyeing you.
"They make me laugh. They are quite funny." You mutter, seeing how close Stiles is getting.
"Oh." Stiles chuckles, though the humour is lost. "Aren't they just amazing. Making you laugh and smile. You even blush around Aiden."
Your cheeks begin to redden on embarrassment as you cough. "No, I don't."
"Yeah, you do. And it's really annoying." Stiles says. "You know what else is annoying?" You meet his gaze, pressing your lips together. "The fact that you're blushing for him right now."
You scoff. "I'm not."
You can feel Stiles' breath hit your face. "I really hope that's true."
"Stiles, why are you so angry about this?"
And he cracks. "Because I don't want you to like some rabid wolf, I want you to like me!"
Stiles freezes, processing what he just revealed. Fuck. You stare at him, mouth beginning to open.
"What..." You drift off, your heart beating rapidly in your chest.
"I-" Stiles begins, stepping back, shocked and incredibly nervous at his own words. "I didn't-"
"You...like me?" You slowly ask.
Stiles goes to shake his head for fear of your rejection, but then he thinks of Aiden, and switches to a small nod.
Now your shocked, confirmation that his first confession wasn't a slip up. Silence has engulfed the locker room and Stiles can't bear it. "Say something...please."
"I didn't know...you liked me like that." You mutter, your life long crush's words having taken a toll on you.
He couldn't let you date Aiden and now you knew why. But your moments of silence were crushing his heart. He began to step farther away, thinking he just ruined your friendship, when you quickly grabbed his cheeks, and kissed him.
Stiles eyes widened, before they became hooded, the feel of your soft lips making his stomach do somersaults. But then your pulling away far too soon, eyes wide, your own shock at what you just did easily visible.
But Stiles doesn't waste another moment, smashing his lips back to yours. You slightly stumbled back at the force as Stiles began to lick and eat at your lips. He groaned into your mouth when he was able to finally push himself against you, your back hitting a locker.
"Oh, god." Stiles muttered against your lips. "This means you like me back...right?" He asks as he began to kiss your cheek and jaw, leading all the way to your neck, as his hand slipt around your waist.
"No, Stiles." You sarcastically say, making him chuckle against your skin. You grab his face, bringing him back to your face. "Kissing you doesn't mean I like you." You kiss him, your tongues eagerly meeting.
"I'm glad you've picked up my sacrasm." He says, continusously kissing you. "Otherwise that would hurt."
You smile into the kiss, your head buzzing with this reality. You had begun to unbutton his jeans, making his breath hitch, but he quickly grabs your hand, making you meet his gaze in question. "I didn't like hearing that the twins make you feel good." Stiles says, putting your hands over his shoulders, as he lead one of his hands back down.
He unbuttoned your jeans, slipping his hand inside making you grip his shirt. "I want to make you feel good." Stiles kisses you, as he reaches your panties, pushing them aside as he finds your wetness. You jolt when his fingers find your clit. "Much better than them." He whispered as he began to rub your pussy, circling around.
"Christ." You whispered into his neck, before your head hit back against the locker.
Stiles trailed one finger to your hole, pushing inside, making you whimper. "At first I was hurt, because you were my friend not theirs." Stiles said as he pushed another finger inside you making your hips stutter. "But now that doesn't matter, because you can be their freind all you like." Stiles littered kisses along you collerbone and neck. "As long as I can kiss and touch you like this." He grinned against your skin as you moaned, his pace quickening.
"Oh, god— please." You breathe, finding your hand in his hair. You kiss him, letting your lips bruise as he laps at your tongue. Stiles then kisses your cheeks. "You look so cute when you blush."
Your cheeks had heated due to the actions given by Stiles. "I thought you got annoyed when I b-blushed."
Stiles chuckles, curling his fingers inside you. You pant, sweat forming across your forehead. "That's only because you were blushing for Aiden. But now your blushing for me." Stiles smiles. “All for me."

Ours | Derek Hale Oneshot
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.5K Requested by @gracelynn318: "Derek or Stiles finding out that their significant other (the reader) is pregnant and they try to keep it secret for as long as possible" Warnings: pregnancy, pregnancy symptoms (vomiting, nausea, fatigue)
Summary: Derek Hale and (Y/N) have been together for a long time, and they didn't know something was missing from their lives until it arrived unexpectedly. And all they want to do is revel in the moment for as long as they can, by themselves.
A/N: this story follows 0% of canon, just the character's names. will admit. I am a horrible Teen Wolf fan that has yet to see season 5 and 6, and I've also yet to watch the movie. So, definitely an AU 😬also, be on the lookout for tonight or tomorrow for another surprise regarding this request 😉😉
Tumblr media
Derek had noticed the change long before (Y/N) had. Long before she knew why she spent her days expelling her meals down the toilet drain, before she understood why her body craved more food than she could keep down, before she had even noticed that a month had passed and her period had not arrived.
It came late at night. The soft putter of a heartbeat that felt so far that it could have been confused with the sound of rain against the pavement. They had been lying in bed, the exhaustion of living in Beacon Hills the only thing they needed to crash at night. But the sound had been bothering Derek. The continuous rhythm didn’t allow the wolf to lose himself in much-needed slumber. The sound kept him up, especially from where it was coming from.
“(Y/N),” he whispered, running his hand up and down her arm to wake her. “(Y/N), baby, wake up.”
“Mm,” she groaned groggily, cuddling to his body tightly. “Go to sleep, Derek.”
“(Y/N), I gotta ask you something. Wake up.”
“We can talk in the morning,” she whined. “I’m tired right now.”
“It’s important,” he chuckled softly. “I need your complete focus.”
With a loud exhale, (Y/N) sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. The sheet fell from her torso, and the coldness of the night made her skin erupt in goosebumps. She rarely got angry with Derek, but she was coming quite close at that very moment. “You better have a good reason to wake me, Der,” she said. “I’m so tired I might just put off killing you until tomorrow.”
“Listen, please,” he said. “When was the last time you got your period?”
“What?” the girl questioned. “You seriously just woke me up to ask about my cycle?”
“More or less. Just answer. Did you get it last month?”
It took her a moment to think. The grogginess of being woken up still clutched her mind, and recounting the past weeks was hard. But her body startled awake as she realized she had not gotten her shark week in a month and a half. That fact alone did not scare her. She had always been irregular, and in moments of stress, it was more likely than not that she skipped a cycle. The problem was that not only had she missed a period, she had been feeling sick for the past three weeks. And the math was not too hard to do.
“I-I didn’t,” she stammered. “W-why are you asking?”
“Oh my god,” he answered. “Oh my god!”
“What? What’s wrong?”
Instead of answering, Derek pressed his ear to her stomach until he could hear the sound clearly. Alongside (Y/N)’s quickening heartbeat, a quieter, steady pattern joined. It was too indistinguishable now. “You’re pregnant,” he said. So quiet he wasn’t sure if he had said it at all. “There’s a baby in there. Our baby.”
“Pregnant…” (Y/N) could not believe the word even as it rolled out of her tongue. “I can’t believe it.”
“We’ll go to Deaton tomorrow, but I’m certain. I can hear their heart beating in there.”
(Y/N)’s mind was reeling. Pregnant, she thought to herself. The word felt foreign. So did her body. Derek had noticed the change before her. How could she not have known that a life was growing inside her? How could she ever be a mother when she did not even know herself?
Without realizing it, tears fell down her cheeks. She felt weak and panicked. The strong woman that had faced the biggest dangers and far scarier monsters trembled with the thought of a life depending on her for survival. It was one thing to volunteer to protect the members of the pack. They were old enough to fend for themselves. It was another to be responsible for the life and survival of another human.
“Hey,” Derek called. His voice sounded like it was underwater. So far away that she could barely hear it. “Baby, what’s going on?”
She hadn’t noticed that she had stood from the bed and was pacing around their room. Her breathing was shallow, and her chest heaved as she took in short breaths, trying to steady herself. Tears kept falling faster than she could wipe them away. They warmed her cheeks before the air turned them cold. It was the only thing that grounded her.
And Derek. Always Derek.
He had gotten off the bed, and within a second, he was wrapping his arms around her. The warmth from his skin calmed her. It brought her senses back to the moment, steadying her rampant heart.
“What’s wrong, (Y/N)?” he spoke into the crook of her neck. “Tell me what I can do to make it better.”
“I’m scared, Derek,” she sighed, tightening her grip around him. “A baby. Here. Now.”
“Why not here?” Derek smiled, his hands running through her hair. “Why not now? With you as their mother, that baby could be born underground, and they would be the luckiest child in the world.”
“How could you be so sure?” (Y/N) cried. “I forget things all the time, I’m clumsy, I can barely redeem myself when it comes to fighting. If it weren’t for my weapons, I wouldn’t bring much to the fight against our enemies. What good would I be to protect a child? How could I be entrusted with their entire upbringing?”
“Oh, (Y/N). You’re far more valuable than what you bring to a fight.” His hands cradled her face, the green of his eyes boring into hers. “You are the most caring person I know. If it weren’t for you, I would have killed half of the pack by now. You’re smart. You’re funny. And if anyone should be terrified of becoming a parent, it should be me.”
“Come on,” she scoffed jokingly, her tears finally subsiding. “You’d be an amazing father. Temperamental, but great nonetheless.”
“Well, I’m glad it at least got you laughing,” he grinned. “How about we just take this one day at a time, baby? Make sure we take things slow. Tell people on our own time. Instead of going to the doctor, we buy a pregnancy test at the pharmacy; confirm what I already know.”
“But if you can hear the heartbeat, I am sure all the other wolves will, too,” she worried. “How am I supposed to take things as they come when everyone will know the second they come here?”
“Then, I won’t let anyone back here,” he smiled. “I’ll have them meet me at the warehouse or at Argent’s place. We can say you’re sick with something and won’t be there. Or that you went to visit family out of state –I don’t know. The point is, we can do this, baby. I know we can.”
“Well, I do admire your tenacity,” she chuckled, kissing his lips softly and hugging him again. “One day at a time, right?”
“One day at a time.”
And it worked. For two months, at least.
That very morning, he went out and returned home with five pregnancy tests and a bouquet of flowers. And five minutes later, they all showed an array of dark pink plus signs and the word Pregnant on them. Just like that, it had been confirmed. A new baby Hale would be coming to Beacon Hills in eight months.
They were excited. Of course, they were. But they couldn’t help the terror that overtook them as well. Bringing a new life into their world was a scary thought. The fact that anyone with knowledge of their child could use them against them was terrifying. Still, they wanted that baby more than anything they had wanted before.
The child that grew inside of (Y/N) was the tangible representation of their love. Evidence that everything life had thrown at them had not been able to push them apart, not for a second. They had been through hell and back, always together, and they had come out of every single occasion stronger than before. That baby was the final piece to their equation.
The next day, they went to the first available OB/GYN about an hour from the town. The doctor confirmed what they already knew, adding the new fact that she was around seven weeks along. The process was more than uncomfortable, but the result was well worth it. A tiny blob appeared on the screen, and the sound of a rapid heartbeat filled their ears. It made tears well up in their eyes. That tiny thing would soon turn into their baby. And even though it didn’t even have a distinguishable shape, they had fallen in love with them.
At first, they thought they would pass the first trimester in bliss. That they would only grow more and more excited as the days passed. And they would have. Had it not been for all the symptoms that overtook (Y/N).
She spent most of her day hunched over the toilet seat, emptying whatever was in her stomach. Even when she thought she could keep food down, an hour or two later, she would be in the bathroom letting it out. And if she wasn’t vomiting, she was ransacked with deep waves of nausea. Then, her breasts started to swell, painful jabs running through her every few days. In addition to heartburn and fatigue, it made her question just how worth it a baby could be.
But Derek had been attentive as ever, if not a little overbearing. He had kept his promise of moving where the meetings were held, claiming that the loft was under renovation while (Y/N) was out of town for a bit. It wasn’t a complete lie, though. He used his downtime to clean up around the house and fix things he had put off for far too long.
He fed her saltine crackers and electrolyte drinks, rubbed her back, and held her hair, and he loved her. Every day and every night, he loved her. Even when he had to stay up cleaning the bathroom or he had to carry her back to bed. He loved her through everything.
“You did this to me,” she had groaned one day. “All I want is to eat chips and pickles, but I can’t keep anything down.”
“I know, and I’m sorry,” he responded, drawing circles on her back as he cradled her body in the bathroom. “Hopefully, in a week, it’ll subside. You’re almost out of the first trimester, and the morning sickness should get better.”
“Stop reading pregnancy books,” she whined. “By the time this bun is fully baked, you’ll know more than me.”
“Isn’t that a good thing?” Derek chuckled but swallowed his laughter as (Y/N) gifted him an angry scowl. “Okay, okay. I think the ten books I’ve read will do.”
(Y/N) remained quiet and threw her head against his chest. His arms snaked around her body, a comfort she allowed herself to sink into. The warmth from his body felt nice against her shivering skin. But just his presence was enough to comfort her, regardless of the words she spoke.
“I’m sorry I’ve been snappy these past few days,” she sighed. Her eyes closed as he wrapped his arms tighter around her, her head falling against his chest. “I love this baby, and I love you, but I don’t love puking all the time. And peeing all the time. And being tired all the time. I want to fast forward to the next few months.”
“Hey, you can be snappy with me all you want. I can take it,” he said with a smile. “I will be right here every step of the way because I love you. More than you could ever know.”
“Even when I’m all big and bloated?” (Y/N) chuckled, her hands falling onto the growing small bump. “They're already trying to deform my body.”
“Well, at least you’re glowing.”
“No,” she sighed. “That’s just sweat.”
“Then you look beautiful covered in sweat,” he laughed. “Now, let’s get you to bed. Alright?”
(Y/N) could only nod and wrap her arms around his neck as he carried her back to bed, laying right next to her. Even if he couldn’t take this discomfort away, he was trying his best to make things better for her.
Another week passed, and things started to shift. The woman would only occasionally feel the need to throw up her food, but the constant nausea and heartburn had subsided. And once (Y/N) saw her baby's small fingers and feet in their 12-week ultrasound, she knew it had all been worth it.
She also knew they couldn’t keep the secret to themselves any longer.
The pack had become angsty. Wondering when (Y/N) would be coming back from her supposed trip. Two and a half months was far too long to just be with family. With no imminent danger in sight, they had too much time to check up on everyone else.
“I think it’s time we tell them,” (Y/N) told Derek as they watched a movie. She cradled her small bump, something she had unconsciously started to do. “We’re almost at the five-month mark, and I think it’ll be too hard to hide.”
“Do we really?” he groaned. “I can just keep you hidden here until the nine months are up. They don’t have to know a thing.”
“You would really keep the mother of your child sequestered in these walls until I give birth?”
“Maybe even more,” he shrugged. “Maybe I’ll keep you here forever.”
“You’re quite funny, Mr. Hale,” she chuckled. “But they are our friends —our family. They deserve to know there’s one more person to protect.”
“I’ve just really liked this time,” he sighed. His chin rested on her shoulder, his beard tickling her exposed skin. “You know, just you and me. Basking in the time we won’t have once everyone knows and once the baby is here. It’s all I’ve ever wanted, (Y/N). A family of my own, that I can love and protect. A home that’s ours.”
“And we will have that,” she smiled. “We’re just allowing more love in. The best part, at the end of the day, we can just kick them out.”
“When you put it that way,” he laughed before kissing her lips, savoring her. “Alright, fine. We’ll tell them next Saturday.”
“Thank you, Der. It’s gonna be great.”
And it should have.
Had it not been for the million things that went wrong that week. The A/C was busted for a total of four days, a pipe burst in one of the bathrooms, the paint they had ordered for the nursery had been put on back order, and the Camaro had to be taken into the shop for tuning. Thing after thing occurred, piling onto an already stressful time.
Nevertheless, the week came and went. And before either of them knew it, Saturday had rolled in.
To say (Y/N) was nervous was an understatement. For some reason, anxiety was taking over her body. Its claws dug themselves deep into her being. It made her veins run cold and her heart speed. She didn’t know how any of them would react to the baby. Even to the fact that they had kept it from them for so long. And although Derek tried his best to calm her worries, they had already made a home inside her head.
“God, what if they hate the fact that I’m pregnant?” (Y/N) worried as she laid out more food than necessary on the kitchen counter. “What if they find the idea of bringing a child into a messed up world to be the worst thing ever?”
“Who cares, baby? It’s our child,” Derek tried to reassure. “We are the ones that will be raising them. The ones to protect them. Always and forever.
“But they say it takes a village, Der. And that is one thing that I know is true. I mean, at some point, we will need their help.”
“And you really think we won’t have it,” he said, rounding the kitchen island. His hands traveled her body and, in one swift move, had her sitting on the counter. At eye level, he could stare directly into her glossy eyes. “We have been through everything with these people. Even the ones I hated at the beginning have become my closest friends. I’m 100% sure they’ll be thrilled that you’re pregnant.”
He snaked his hand to her chin, pulling her down for a soft kiss. But once their lips made contact, it was too much of a temptation to keep it chaste. Soon enough, their tongues danced together, and their hands pulled each other closer. It left them breathless and excited, wanting —needing more.
“Uh, we can come back if it’s a bad time,” Stiles’ voice rang through the apartment, startling them apart. “But you guys did invite us here. So, it’s kind of bad on you guys.”
“No. Yes! I mean, it’s not a bad time,” (Y/N) chuckled as she jumped off the counter, hiding her stomach with a comically large bowl. “We just got carried away, I guess.”
“The one day they decide to show up on time,” Derek grumbled under his breath. “Come in, why don’t you?”
Before they knew it, the apartment was filled with werewolves, a banshee, other werehumans and supernatural beings, and their very own abominable snowman. The couple remained in the kitchen as everyone situated themselves, whispering under their breath what the best way to go about it would be.
“Not to be pushy,” Peter called out. “But if you guys only called us over for some food, I have better things to do than hang around children all day.”
“You do know we’re all well above the age of eighteen, right?” Isaac retorted. “It’s been quite some time since we have been children.”
“You’re still younger than me, correct?”
“Well, yeah…”
“Then children,” he said. “So, what is it? Am I staying, or am I leaving?”
“Settle down, Peter,” Derek responded, biting back the urge to roll his eyes. “We do have something important to announce to everyone and would very much appreciate it if you just listen.”
“Fine,” he frowned. “But you have ten minutes of my time before I decide to leave.”
“All we need is a couple of seconds, really,” (Y/N) said with a smile on her face so sweet no one dared say anything else. “I’m sure you heard that I was away for a while and that we were undergoing renovations here. Which, as you can tell by the lack of changes, was not true. Derek lied on my behalf and moved any necessary meetings out of our home because I needed this time to myself as I underwent a sort of change in my life.”
“Oh my god, you’re dying,” Stiles worried. “Is it cancer? Is it at least treatable?”
“It’s nothing like that, Stiles,” she reassured with a soft chuckle. “But thank you for worrying. It’s just as life-changing but not necessarily life-threatening. At least, I’m hoping it’s not. But you could never be sure until…”
“(Y/N), you’re rambling,” Derek whispered in her ear. “It’s nothing bad.”
“You’re pregnant!” Lydia exclaimed, a bright smile adorning her face.
“How would you know that?” Malia questioned. “I thought you predicted death, not new life.”
“It’s common sense,” she shrugged, disregarding the comment. “She’s been hiding for months. The place smells like paint, and nothing in this room is painted, so I can only assume it’s a bedroom. And she hasn’t stepped out from behind the island that just so happens to cover her stomach. Two and two always makes four.”
“Except on this occasion, it made three,” (Y/N) chuckled. She walked around the counter and joined Derek’s side, her bump finally on display for everyone to see. “But, yes, Lydia, I am pregnant. Almost five months now.”
A shower of ‘holy crap’s and ‘oh my god’s rained over them as, one by one, the pack got to their feet and hugged the couple in congratulations. They rejoiced together and started planning how to spoil little baby Hale even before they were born. Every single person was as excited and overjoyed as Derek and (Y/N) were, anxious for when the baby was born.
Well, except Peter.
“Yeah, next time you have these kinds of news, little nephew, make sure to make it an email,” he grumbled, looking at his watch. “Can’t believe I canceled evening plans for a pregnancy announcement.”
“We love you too, Peter,” (Y/N) laughed. “Maybe if you leave now, you can still make it to whatever it is that you had planned.”
“I’m already here,” he shrugged as he sat back down on the sofa. “Might as well take advantage of the free food.”
“Ignore him,” Derek told her, wrapping his arms around her waist. “He can’t take this moment away from us. It’s all ours.”

The Teen Wolf movie’s lack of context to the Derek & Sheriff Stilinski relationship is a travesty because you know this man helped Derek Hale raise his son.
You can feel the history in their shared frustration over Eli’s fixation with the jeep. You see how easily either of them show up when the other calls for back up. Sheriff didn't hesitate to be the bad cop and threaten Derek’s son so Eli would cut Derek some slack. Stiles’ father was there to help Derek figure out how to be a good parent, I have no doubt he showed up a few times to the house on his days off to babysit. And I know Derek has called the Sheriff at the station over the smallest emergencies. In the process Derek found himself growing fond of Stilinski, even seeing him as a father figure. Surely he enjoyed how much it drove Stiles up the wall when his dad called to talk not about the FBI, but how amazing Derek was doing with Eli. I can almost hear the frustration in Stiles voice as he realizes Derek Hale is trying to replace him, maybe to spite him. Definitely to spite him.
Derek and Argent had an understanding. Derek and Stiles put aside their differences to save each other over and over. But when Derek needed someone, the one man left to protect Beacon Hills stepped in to help the big scary werewolf without hesitation. Sheriff Stilinski never forgot about the young Hale boy who lost everything, even when that boy jeopardized his son’s life. He knew Derek needed a parent to show him the ropes. He also knew how hard it was to raise Stiles as a widowed father, and one look at Eli told him Derek couldn't do this alone, not like he had. Claudia would want her husband to help Derek, to put aside their differences, and be there for each other. And he was there to defend Derek after he was gone, to ensure Eli knew just what kind of father he had. The film’s ending aside, I know Eli wound up in the Sheriff’s care, staying in Stiles’ old bedroom because there was no way that man wasn’t seeing what he started through for Derek’s sake.
This Sterek-adjacent dynamic is everything, and it hurts that we will never get the Hale spin-off these two deserve because, wow the emotional subcontext that carries through those 15 unspoken years is too much.

more sterek fic recs - all completed
finally, some more sterek! enjoy :)
quiet perfection by hyperlittlenori - this is one of my favourite sterek fics ever, it's honestly one of the softest things i've ever read and it has me grinning from ear to ear every single time i read it. it's an AU with a deaf derek and a sign speaking stiles. they meet for the first time at the station and are instantly enamoured with each other. all i want is for this fic to become a series, i just want more of them.
chasing slumber by hyperlittlenori - another fic by this author! this is some of the most intense sterek smut i've ever read in my life, i literally forgot to breathe during it. the boys use sex to cope but it's a lot healthier than it sounds, i swear. there's also a lot of fluff, i love this one so much. this authors writing is immaculate.
from love not lust by hyperlittlenori - another one, i know! this one is just really simple and sweet. the boys fall in love through book annotations and it's so extremely soft. asexual derek is beautiful.
deaton's dream beans by thenerdnextdoor - a coffeeshop/bookstore AU! derek is a brooding hermit who owns a bookstore and stiles is an obnoxious but adorable barista who's trying to start a war with a rival coffee shop. this is such a fun story, with a tiny bit of angst and a whole lot of fluff. also, background thiam! i've read this multiple times, it's just so silly.
i ain't scared of your teeth by antisepticdork - stiles gets attacked by harpies, derek gets growly about it, they fall in like. this one is very much a 'monster of the week' fic, very chill and a bit goofy.
we've written volumes (in blood and scars and ink) by notthequiettype - stiles gets attacked by the alpha pack and derek nurses him back to health with a whole lotta werewolf healing mojo. solid banter, minor smut and a lot of fluff.
you saw me standing alone by orphan account - so obviously i like fics where stiles gets hurt and derek plays the sexy nurse, because here's another one! this is such a sweet fic, and the smut at the end is A+, slutty bottom derek is one of my favourite flavours of derek. he mewls, guys. mewls.
this is ridiculous by zosofi - a pining derek, a bloodthirsty, virgin killing unicorn and an oblivious, virginal stiles stilinski. this fic is so goofy and i love it.
warm shadows by stilinskisparkles - stiles gets hurt after another kidnapping and derek offers to help him out while he heals. a zero angst fic with some great banter and an evil peter hale thrown into the mix. these boys are so in love i wanna scream.
hear it in the silence by elisela - post season six fic where stiles and derek are best friends. stiles drags derek along on an impromptu road trip to escape the pressure of college and they realise they're in love along the way. such a romantic fic with top tier healthy communication, it's just a really beautiful story about falling in love with your best friend.

one day is all it takes. one day to change anyone's life, one day to destroy one's life.
Derek and Stiles meet on the day of their graduation. It's supposed to be the start of the rest of their lives, yet they can't get rid of each other no matter how hard they both try. They weren't meant to meet that night, they weren't meant to be in each other's lives for the rest of it, yet they can't get rid of each other. Over the course of the next 15 years, they keep intersecting in each other's lives becoming the main reasons for why they keep on going.
- His own heart was beating through his chest, filled with a nervousness that was so unfamiliar to him during every last hookup that he had. He wasn't used to this feeling. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He wants to rush this, he wants to be harsh, demanding, and rough, just like all the others before. He just can't bring himself to the task. Stiles deserved more than that, no matter how much he tried to convince himself of the opposite.

Fic snippet
Currently working on a Sterek fic based on my Old Money Stiles fanart.
“What is your intention with my son?” His fathers accent is thicker than Stiles, and Derek blinks blankly as he tries to process this. In the end neither of them really listen to Derek's answer. Not when his father turns to him and says in Polish. “Be careful.”
Stiles rolls his eyes, answering back. “He’s harmless.”
“That’s not what I mean.” His father shoots back. “He’s going to propose.”
That's not what Stiles was expecting to hear. “What!” He shouts. Derek's still sitting there awkwardly looking between them both, not understanding a word. Stiles shakes his head frantically. “No he isn’t…W-Why would you think that!”
His father points. “Look at him! He’s basically asking for my permission!”
“No he isn’t. He hasn’t said anything!” Stiles turns to Derek and forces a smile, needing his dad to stop talking. “He asked if you wanted to stay for dinner.”
Derek grimaces, but nods.
They stand on the porch after, watching Derek get in the car and leave. He sits in the driver's seat for a moment, looks up. Smiles a tiny bit, and waves before he starts the engine. Shit.
“How do you know?” Stiles asks his father.
“The look in his eye.” He mutters, stepping away to go inside. “It’s the same glint I had in mine. When I met your ma.”

drunk, adorable, stay - teen wolf
On AO3
“Stay—no, Derek, stay!”
“Not a dog, Stiles,” Derek slurs, but he stays where he’s technically upright, slumped against the wall.
“Right. I’m just gonna get you some water so you don’t slaughter the entire pack in the morning.”
“Wouldn’t slaughter you. Pack’s pack. Love my pack.”
“You’re fucking adorable when you’re drunk,” Stiles pauses to coo.
“Not drunk. Werewolves don’t get drunk.”
“Werewolves get drunk on whatever Isaac brought over.”
“Mm,” Derek says, listing to the side.
“OK, big guy, bed then water.”
“Only if you come with me, baby.”
“Baby? Really? Not until you’re sober.”
“Promise?”
“Yeah, I promise.”

In light of the new teen wolf movie, I’m going to post some of my favourite sterek fanfic I’ve written…
There’s Joy Not Far From Here
28k. “I’m coming,” Derek calls, shrugging on a sweater. The first few days of March had been warm, but the weather has turned in the last week - winter's last ‘fuck you’ - and Derek is expecting the icy blast as the warm air rushes out the front door. “What—” His breath freezes in his throat.
“Hey there, Sourwolf.”
Stiles is standing on the front porch— Derek’s front porch— his right hand waved in a half wave.
“Stiles?” Derek almost takes a step back. “What are you— how?”
~
Two years after Derek runs from Beacon Hills, Stiles turns up at his front door looking for his own escape. What follows is a story of adventure, healing and finding a place to call home.
But It’s Better When It’s You
9k. Shuffling slowly towards the front door, Stiles throws it open.
“What?”
Stiles’ brain short circuits - just a little - because standing in front of him is Derek Hale.
He hasn’t seen Derek in almost four years and now he’s standing on his doorstep, in shorts and a tank top with a canvas bag clutched in one hand.
Catch us in the mirror (it looks a lot like love)
4K. “You’re lucky to have found a mate like Stiles.”
“Mm,” Derek nods, eyes following Stiles back towards the house. The words sink in and he freezes, mind frantically replaying every interaction he’s had with Stiles over the last few days, wondering how they could have possibly given her that impression.
Stiles is— he’s Stiles. He’s funny and smart and kind and— they’re not mates, no matter how much Derek might wish otherwise.

Talia had taken Y/N in to her pack after your parents and their pack  were brutally murdered. For years she trained and learned under Talia alongside Derek , Laura and Cora. One night Talia tells you along with Derek that you two have to imprint on each other , to become each other’s mates. Your connection to Derek has always been stronger than his to you. So after the fire it killed you to be away from him , but you had to do it for your own survival. 7 years after the fact , you return home. Back to Beacon Hills. But the Derek you return to is not the same Derek you know. Will Y/N ever get Derek to accept the fact they are meant to be together?

PENTHOUSE
You sat at the breakfast bar with a fifth cup of coffee in your hand and the laptop with several tabs opened right in front of you. After getting back to the penthouse yesterday, you had tried to get some sleep. But you couldn't sleep with that feeling in the pit of your stomach, and every time you had tried to close your eyes all you could picture was the strange look on Stiles' face. Just thinking about it again, you could remember the feeling of his hand on your shoulder, causing the area to feel hot again.
You shivered, placing your own hand over shoulder to make the feeling go away. You clicked to open the tab to reread about William Barrow. You had reread the page several times during the night trying to make a connection between him and Stiles but to no avail. And it didn't help there was barely anything online about a kitsune and a nogitsune.
You could hear the faint sound of the bedroom doors opening and closing before Brett and Lori appeared from the hallway and making their way towards the kitchen.
"Morning," you greeted them both, eyes still glued to the screen of the laptop. "I bought groceries yesterday, help yourselves to whatever you like."
"Did you drink a whole pot of coffee?"
You glanced up to see Brett holding the empty coffee pot in his hand and looking at you in disbelief.
"Maybe." You shrugged. You closed the laptop shut. "I have somewhere to be, so I need you guys to catch the bus to school today." you grabbed your wallet out of your jacket pocket and pulled out whatever cash you had in there. "This should be enough for the day." You placed it on the counter top. "I also put a copy of the key in each of your backpacks and you each have a phone, ok. Listen, I won’t be around as much, but if you need anything just call me."
"What do you mean? You’re not staying here?" Lori asked.
"Uhm, no." You answered awkwardly. Brett stood beside his sister and crossed his arms. Without a word, they waited for an explanation. You didn't feel you needed one but sighed anyway and replied, "I figured you could both use the space. It's pretty clear there are some...grudges and I don't want to overstep. I dont want you guys to feel like im mothering you."
You paused a moment to look at Brett. You were almost certain he would’ve explained it to his sister. You then looked to Lori. “I think it’s better this way. I don’t know how many hunters are out there right now looking for me.”
“Right.” Brett drawled sarcastically. “What about those things back at the hospital? The ones that attacked those girls?”
“I don’t have a reason to believe they’d come after you.” You stared quizzically. “They didn’t attack, they just marked them. To make sure they weren’t possessed.” You folded your arms across your chest, in thought.
“What if we’re possessed?” He folded his arms across his chest as well. “What if hunters find us while looking for you?”
You blinked. You didn’t take that part into account; you thought distancing yourself from them would be better. But now, you were starting to believe that maybe it wasn’t the best decision. They were old enough to watch after themselves, but that didn’t mean they should.
“You’re right,” you nodded, “I didn’t think of that.” You admitted. “I’ll come back tonight.” You gathered your things, leaving the laptop closed on the breakfast counter. “And who knows,” You said as you walked away from the breakfast counter, “I just might return with your new den daddy!”
“What the fu—?” Brett’s profanity was cut off by you shutting the front door behind you.
You couldn’t help but giggle to yourself as you waited for the elevator to reach your floor. Maybe you were serious, maybe you weren’t. You didn’t really have many options, except for one person. But even then, you weren’t sure how much help Derek would be or if he would even agree.
You entered the elevator and pressed the button for Chris Argent’s floor. Right now, you needed to find out how many hunters were on your tail and if any of them were in Beacon Hills. And maybe ask for a favor or two.
As the elevator door opened on Argent’s floor, you were surprised to see Isaac and Alison standing just in the hallway waiting for the elevator as well.
Isaac was, just as equally if not more, surprised to see you in the elevator. He tilted his head and pointed a finger at you, looking between the lights on top of the elevator door and then back at you.
“Hey, Isaac. Alison.” You decided to greet first. “I’m just…looking for your dad.”
Alison looked to Isaac. “He’s home.” She replied rather dryly. “What do you want with him?”
“Are you coming from the penthouse?” Isaac finally mustered out.
“I am.” You decided to be honest. “It’s a bit of a long story. But i think you have some explaining to do also?” You eyed Alison. "Anyway," you stepped out of the elevator, "you know where to find me now." You told Isaac.
"What do you want with my dad?" Allison repeated her question.
“I just need to talk to him.” You exasperated. "Now, go, or you'll both be late for school." you gently shoved them both towards the inside of the elevator. You pressed your hands on the sides of the elevator to prevent the doors from closing, “Isaac, one more thing.” You stared at him with pleading eyes, “don’t tell Derek I’m here.”
“Yeah, done.” He replied rather quickly, "is everything ok? with you?"
You glanced at Allison one more time, "We can talk later." You answered after a moment. "Just us, Cora and Erica, ok?" You hesitated a moment before looking at Allison, "I know im in no position to ask, but I could really use your help too. Can you guys... keep an eye on Stiles?"
"Stiles?" Allison perked, "whats wrong with Stiles?"
"Nothing, I dont think. Thats why I need to talk to your dad," you half lied. "He just seems different to me. I dont know. Just please, and dont make it obvious." You added.
Isaac and Allison nodded at you. You smiled, thanking the two kids and began to push yourself away from the elevator.
“Wait," Isaac held the doors open himself this time, "Are you and Derek like…breaking up?” He pushed.
You grabbed his wrists to remove his hands, pressed the arrow down button and waved at the kids as the elevator doors began to close.
—————————— 🐾——————————
"Calavera." Chris repeated the name. "Yeah, I'm familiar with them, they're a family of hunters from Mexico." He added. "I haven't heard from them in a while. Why?"
You leaned back in the chair and sighed. "Gerard heard through some stupid Hunter network, or," you pinched the bridge of your nose remembering the little details, "I don't know, some chick Braeden told him that she was after me."
"Gerard?" Chris questioned. "My father Gerard?"
"Yeah," you dropped your hand from your face, "he bribed me out of Eichen house to tell me that and more." You noticed just the faintest twitch in Argent's expression and the evident change in his scent and knew right away. "I'm guessing it's not a surprise to you that he knew where I was but that he got me out?"
"I dont know how he found out," he admits, "I told him about your condition and that was it. You’re not really his favorite either, so I have no idea why he would—.”
"I dont care," you replied with defeat, "I just need your help. I know we're in no position to help each other but I'm literally begging you, Chris. Please." He looked away from you, contemplating. "I dont know why you saved me all those years ago or even why you continued to help me, but please. It's just for a while, lead her away from me."
Chris clicked his tongue in frustration. "For Araya, this isn't just a code to them. It's law. She could end up killing me or Allison if we got in her way."
"So on a scale of screwed and totally screwed, I'm completely and utterly screwed?"
Chris softly called your name, "Maybe...your best option is to leave Beacon Hills."
You stared at him. That was one thing you were hoping to never hear again. Beacon Hills was your home, your family and your friends were here. You've been away for too long, and certainly a lot has changed but it was still home to you.
"I can't." You shook your head.
"You're putting everyone in danger by staying here."
"I know. But I cant just leave." A beat. "I have two betas upstairs with nowhere else to go and who lost their alpha because of me. And I know you and Derek think maybe I had something to do with what happened with Kira or William Barrow—,"
"We don't—,"
"But you’re thinking it aren’t you? Derek tried to send me away because of it. You weren't there to witness it either times, but my howl is dangerous. I mean what if it not only fills werewolves with rage and makes them go feral but what if it can also attract other creatures?"
Chris furrowed his brows and waited for you to continue. Of course he already knew about that little detail since Deaton told him. Maybe even entertained the idea you called the nogitsune as well, but just like before, something wasn’t adding up to him. So he stayed quiet.
"Thats partially why I cant leave Beacon Hills right now. If I could just talk to Katashi or even take a look at the bestiary again, then maybe I can find the answers to my questions."
"Katashi is most likely halfway home by now. He's already told us everything he knows." he stated. "And, did you just call it a bestiary? That's Gerard's, he wont hand it to me. And theres nothing in there about Ultimas, I've looked. Nothing about the fox spirits either." Argent leaned over his desk, "If you want my help leading the hunters away, then im gonna need you to start talking."
You stayed quiet a moment and without a single thought to it you blurted, "I think Stiles is being possessed by the nogitsune."
Chris fell back in his chair. He looked like he had gone through the five stages of grief in just five seconds before he turned to you again, speechless.
"I know it sounds crazy, but--"
"There's no 'but', Y/N. Have you seen Stiles?"
"I have." You said matter of factly. "Thats why I'm telling you, he's not himself." A beat. "The girls, they told me everything that happened the night William Barrow took Kira. They showed me where he held her captive, they told me what Stiles confessed to them about what happened back at the school, and that night at the hospital, Stiles, was...different. He smelled different, acted different. It was.. kind of scary being around him." You admitted.
He stared at you.
"I know how it sounds, ok. I don't want to believe it, but... I can just feel it. And I think he did, too."
"It could be why the oni didn't mark you." He said thoughtfully. "Ok," Chris sighed. "I will help you lead Araya and the other Calaveras away from Beacon Hills. But after we help Stiles, you need to leave. For everyone's safety."
You thought about the last statement a while. It wasn't ideal for you, but thinking about it more and more, it was starting to look like the better option. For everyone else.
"Ok," you nodded. "Then i'm gonna need one more tiny favor."
Chris nodded.
"Don't tell, Derek. Or Scott. Not until we're one hundred percent sure it's Stiles. And maybe not tell Derek I live here now?"
Chris nodded. You gave him a quick smile before pushing yourself up out of the chair. He inhaled a deep breath and cleared his throat, earning your attention again. "How are you doing? Are you ok?" He asked.
You froze for a second before slowly sinking back into the chair. "I'm ok." You answered. "I mean, i have a lot on my mind now. Back at Eichen house they had me dosed up like the rest of the other patients, so..I feel..ok."
"I know its not my place to..ask. But Isaac, he's been hanging around Allison a lot."
You tilted your head, puzzled.
"They... kissed." He grumbled.
"Are they dating?"
"Maybe. I dont know." He shook his head, as if the conversation made him uncomfortable more than protective. "I just need to know who to go to if he ever crosses the line with my daughter. I know he's staying with Melissa and Scott, right now--."
"I didn't know that." You cut him off. "If he's part of Scott's pack now.."
"I know. But i'm more worried about you." He added. "I don't want to force you to react in a way you dont want to."
"Thanks, I appreciate it." You stood up from the chair this time. "I'll talk to Isaac. I'll make sure he behaves."

Home is a Fire | P. 2
Tumblr media
They left Stiles out because they knew the nogitsune would tear him apart, but now the nogitsune is gone and Stiles can feel the nemeton telling him it isn’t over — not for him. And maybe not for Derek either.
“I need you to tell me what happened – exactly what happened,” Stiles said calmly. When he’d made his way back from the forest, there were fewer cars in front of his dad’s house. Inside, only Noah, Chris Argent, Melissa McCall, and Peter Hale remained. His dad told him that Lydia, Jackson, Allison, Mason, Liam, and his girlfriend had gone to Melissa’s house. They were enjoying their time with Allison and telling her about their lives since she had last seen them almost two decades previously. He assumed Malia and Parrish went with them, but he didn’t ask.
Scott had gone into the woods after Stiles and, when he knew he was safe, had left him and gone back with the others as well. Stiles didn’t know how many of them he would see so soon again but they were alive. In theory, he could see all of them again.
“It has been a long few days, son.”
Stiles looked up at his dad. Noah Stilinski looked completely worn out, like he hadn’t slept in days. All of them looked like that really. It reminded Stiles of the time before he’d finally left Beacon Hills – when everyone seemed to be constantly in danger.
“I need to know what happened.” So they told him. Chris began the story, talking about his and Scott’s shared dreams. Noah explained the fires and Melissa told him of seeing Scott show up with an unconscious Allison at the hospital. Peter was quiet. Chris offered an explanation of how they’d apparently brought Allison back but it seemed over-simplified. You couldn’t just put dirt and a weapon on the nemeton and receive a person in return. It seemed the adult he most needed to hear from, the vet, had gone. He asked where and they all agreed he was likely on his way back to L.A. So Stiles would be doing this alone.
After a little while longer, Stiles excused himself. He’d grabbed the duffle bag from his car when he came back from the woods and it now sat beside his feet. He picked it up and rounded the stairs to his old bedroom.
Xx
Stiles had a shirt halfway over his head when he heard a knock at his window. He thought about Derek, climbing into his window uninvited when they were younger. When he went to open it, he was not surprised to find a different Hale outside – Peter.
“What is it, Peter?
“You saw something. I could see it on your face.”
“Something isn’t as it seems. I had dreams before I came here, too. But they weren’t about Allison – they were about Derek. I saw fire. I saw the eyes of an alpha. I saw the nemeton. I felt so much pain. When I left earlier, I went to the nemeton and I felt something. It was quick, like it wasn’t there at all. I have to follow it,” Stiles recounted. He didn’t know why he was telling Peter this. Peter wasn’t an ally. But maybe he was. Had he not seen enough of his family burned alive? Had he not felt the pain of it himself? Maybe Peter was taking this the hardest of them all.
Peter had climbed inside the room while Stiles talked. He was leaning against a wall in Stiles’ room now, looking back out of the window he’d come in through. “I don’t know a lot about the nemeton, Stiles. But I do know a little about coming back from death. If you have the will and the luck, it’s possible. We’ve all seen that now. But the nemeton is a complex spirit. It could be tricking you, leading you on, or telling you a truth in order to distract you. Whatever you’re going to do, I have a feeling it’s going to be very dangerous. You’re going to need them.”
“First I need to be sure.” Stiles opened the top drawer of his bedside table and pulled out an item that he had left there for years. His dad hadn’t gotten rid of it. A shoebox full of colorful yarn.
“You may not have enough time to be sure.” With that last whispered thought, he felt silence settle over the room. Peter was gone.
Xx
“Stiles?” Noah asked from the doorway to Stiles’ room. Stiles was laying half on the bed with his lanky legs almost fully hanging over the edge. When he jumped, he came tumbling right off of it and onto the floor. Noah gave him a small smile. “I’m going to work. I love you, son. I don’t say it enough.”
“I love you too, dad.”
He rolled over onto his stomach flattening against the ground as he heard his dad shut the door and go down the stairs. He turned his head to the side and looked at the wall over his bed. In the middle, he’d made a rough drawing of the nemeton on a post-it note with the word ‘Source?’ scribbled on top. Another post-in note had the locations of the fires with ‘Mountain Ash’ which he didn’t think had much to do with it but it might be useful to collect any leftover ash when he needed something to do. The nogitsune had his own post-in note, connected with a blue yarn to the left, below the list of fires. A photo of Allison from an old yearbook, now laying open on the floor with a pair of scissors on top, was connected to both the nemeton and the nogitsune via a thread of red yarn. On the right, a ‘Derek’ post-it was connected to the nemeton in the same red. Photos of his friends and their creepy chemistry teacher had also been taken from that yearbook and connected via blue threads (for the nogitsune), red threads (for the nemeton), yellow (for dreams), and a special purple thread just for Hale’s (which connected to more post-it notes with names than it did yearbook pictures). Stiles stayed up for hours working on putting his thoughts onto his walls but they told him nothing. He needed to know more.
Specifically, he needed to know more about the nemeton. He needed to find Deaton.
Xx
Stiles was parked outside of the Sheriff’s office with a half-used notebook from highschool. When he entered, people shouted at him, happy to see him. Parrish sent him a wave. Mason walked up beside him, asking if he’d put out any really wild fires. “I told your dad that we should’ve called you about the arson,” he said, defensively.
Stiles excused himself with a hint of a smile and ducked into Noah’s office. “Dad, could you call Deacon for me? I need to speak with him.” Noah looked up. There was a worried expression on his face but he picked up the phone next to him and dialed from a small address book beside it. He spoke for a few minutes before hanging up.
“Deaton’s still at the McCall’s. He’s leaving tonight but if you leave now, you’ll have plenty of time to speak with him.” Stiles nodded and turned to leave. “Stiles, whatever it is you’re looking for, I hope you find it. We all miss him.” Another nod and he was gone, walking back the same way he came.
Xx
Inside the McCall’s house, it was like a highschool reunion. Everyone had indeed gone over there and they hadn’t left yet. There was a veil of sadness hanging over the room but still everyone was telling stories, laughing, and leaning on each other. They were mourning – but Stiles couldn’t. He wasn’t going to give up just yet. If Scott could follow a dream almost two decades later, Stiles could follow one after just a few days.
“Deaton, could I speak with you?” He asked. Only then did everyone seem to notice he had come in. Part of Stiles felt bad for not going to catch up with his friends, but a bigger part of him felt something he hadn’t felt in so long – left out. He looked around the room of his supernaturally strong and powerful friends, and he felt the magnitude of his own humanity. Maybe so many years apart had widened the gap between them larger than he was able to cross.
He heard Scott say his name, ask him to join them, but he only shook his head and looked back at Deaton. “Outside, please?”
Deaton followed him back through the door and they sat on the steps together.
“I know that you’re going through a lot right now, Stiles. I’m not sure I’m the best person to help you.”
“You said once that I had a spark,” Stiles said carefully.
“I said that because you’re human– so completely and entirely human. You can use our magic because of that humanity and the others can’t. When I said that to you, it was to help you understand how important you are to the pack even without the abilities some of the others have. Why are you asking about this?”
“What if it’s more than that? What if there’s something else? The nemeton is calling out to me, Deaton, I know it is. I just don’t know why.”
“It’s a complicated source of magic. The dreams it sends you could mean anything or they could mean nothing. It wasn’t the nemeton that sent Scott and Chris dreams of Allison, it was the nogitsune.”
“What if it wasn’t? The nogitsune never sent us dreams on a broadcast signal before – not all of us at least. Maybe he kept Allison alive, between life and death, through his ancient power, but it was the nemeton who brought her back.”
“What is it that you want to know, Stiles?” Deaton had the fatherly and concerned look he often wore when he consulted with Scott’s pack. They weren’t teenagers anymore but still, the look hadn’t changed.
“What if the nemeton is calling out to me to save Derek?”
“I don’t know if it can. There are stories of ancient nemeton magic – that which goes beyond being a beacon or a subject for rituals. They could store souls, imprison demons, even make their own decisions. The information on them has been lost to time, at least it has in California.”
“Hang on, you said they could store souls? I need to know more, Deaton.” Stiles was desperate. He needed to know more. He needed to know if it was possible.
“There’s a book. Talia had a book. But, Stiles, Derek is the only one who’d know where that book is if it wasn’t lost to the fire.”
“Not the only one,” Stiles said, and stood up. A new plan was forming quickly in his mind. A plan that only went two ways. Either Stiles was about to take a last minute vacation to South America, or Peter was going to have to get a message there. They needed to speak with Cora Hale.

12 Days of Ficmas ❅ Day 1
Tumblr media
Word Count: 4.8K Paring:  Stiles Stilinski x Fem!Reader Prompt @alloftheprompts: Character A and Character B broke up but now they meet at a Christmas party.
Summary: In unpredictable Beacon Hills, Stiles and (Y/N) being together was one of the only things that made sense. But sometimes the smallest of changes can create the biggest of chaos. And a simple college admission letter can do just that. Maybe all it takes is the right Christmas gift to make things better.
A/N: yup, that's right, I'm doing 12 Days of Ficmas again (even if I haven't finished Kinktober 🫣🫣 but I am nothing if not a masochist (and a slight procrastinator) But enjoy!! This story actually made me tear up, honestly. But it wouldn't be one of my stories if there wasn't an insane amount of angst 😅 Also, disclaimer, I have not seen the last two seasons of Teen Wolf or the movie so, sorry for any inconsistencies.

“Let’s just get this over with,” (Y/N) sighed as she fixed the Santa hat on top of her head. “They don’t have to know yet.”
“Yeah,” Stiles grimaced. “It’s better to wait until after the holidays, I guess.”
It was the first time Stiles and (Y/N) had ever been terrified to enter Scott’s house and face all of their friends. Even worse, they had to pretend everything was fine between them.
Since they were little, the pair had been inseparable. Being next-door neighbors allowed them to grow close at a rapid pace. It was in her that he found solace on the nights his mother’s illness would take the best of her mind. He would run over to her house and climb the lattice that ran all the way up to her room.
And she wouldn’t ask questions. (Y/N) would simply let him in through her window and distract him until he eventually drifted off to sleep. She did not need any explanations or reasons to comfort Stiles. She simply knew he needed her, and so she was there for him. Because if there was anything she knew of, it was the pain of slowly losing a parent.
They shared a bond that no one could break. Even as Scott entered their duo and they became the perfect trio, Stiles and (Y/N) shared a connection like no other. So, it came as no surprise to anyone when they got together. Even after Stiles had continuously professed his love for Lydia. Even after (Y/N) and Boyd had a quick fling. Everyone knew that it would be the two of them at the end of the day.
What no one expected was that one day, they wouldn’t be Stiles and (Y/N) anymore. Hell, not even they had seen it coming.
Their downfall had begun the second week of December. For some reason, the couple had not spoken about what happened after high school. In their senior year, they were focusing on the present, leaving the future where it was. Because what they didn’t know couldn’t hurt them.
(Y/N) had applied under early action to various colleges, thinking nothing of it. But there was one college that had been her dream since her father had passed, and that was her only early decision application. She had worked every day since to make sure she was at least close to being accepted. But it was never a sure thing.
She had promised herself to put it in the back of her mind. Stressing over that envelope would only drive her into madness. As much as she wanted it to be true, she knew the reality of the situation. The chances she could ever get in, much less with a full ride, were slim to none. And hoping only made things worse.
Still, that hadn’t stopped her from applying; it hadn’t stopped her from wishing.
“Honey,” her mother had said one afternoon after she got home from school. “Look what came in the mail.”
In her hands, there was a white manila envelope with blue lettering that clearly read: University of Oxford.
(Y/N) could have sworn she could feel her heart in her throat, beating at an unnatural pace and threatening to leap out of her body. She crossed the distance between her front door to the kitchen faster than she had ever done before, needing to feel the paper in her hands. Only seeing it was not proof enough that it was real.
“I don’t think I can open it,” the girl worried. “What if it’s bad, mom?”
“You won’t know unless you see, my darling,” she smiled softly. “But no matter what, you will still be the most impressive young lady I have known. And any college would be lucky to have you.”
With trembling hands, she broke open the envelope and pulled out a beautiful and crisp piece of white paper. “Dear (Y/N) (Y/L/N),” she read before taking a steadying breath. “It is with greatest pleasure that we inform you that the Admissions Comittee has decided to offer you admission to Oxford University through our binding Early Decision (ED) option on a full scholarship.”
As (Y/N) read those words, tears spilled from her eyes, and the papers fell from her hands. Her mother wrapped her arms tightly around her, showering her with words of love and encouragement. It had been everything she had worked for. Something not even the supernaturals of the world could take from her.
“You’re going to Oxford, baby girl,” her mother cooed. “I knew you could. Your dad would have been just as proud as I am.”
That moment should have been the happiest in her life so far. But there was a dark cloud that lingered over her as she celebrated. She had not told anyone she was applying to a college so far away, much less the reason she would be doing so. Mostly because she was terrified she wouldn’t get in. But part of her knew it was because she was leaving all her friends behind, leaving Stiles behind. And that was the hardest part.
For the rest of the week, as she celebrated internally, she hid the biggest news of her life from all of her friends and the boy she had deemed the love of her life. Anyone would have thought she was the one harboring a secret supernatural life with the way she was guarding her secret. And, maybe it shouldn’t have been something she kept to herself. Maybe they would have all been excited for her and understood the reason for the distance. But something deep in her stopped her every single time.
If her friends had noticed there was anything different from her demeanor, they didn’t say a thing. In the midst of final exams and the Christmas holidays soon approaching, everyone seemed to be stuck in their own heads. So, if they were in their heads, they couldn’t know there was something happening in hers.
But that Friday night, at the same hour Stiles would always sneak in, (Y/N) knew there was no way she could continue to hide her secret any longer.
“Come on,” he chuckled as he jumped onto her bed, holding his arms open. “Tell me what’s going on with you.”
“What do you mean?” she said, forcing a smile. “Why do you say that?”
“You know you can’t lie to me. I may not have super hearing, but I can tell, (Y/N).”
“Yeah,” she chuckled softly. “You know me too well.”
“Of course I do,” he smiled as he crossed the distance between them and caressed the softness of her cheek. “Now, please, tell me what’s wrong?”
That was it. That was the moment that had changed them, the moment that had broken them.
(Y/N) took a steadying breath and took his hands in hers, focusing on the veins on his hands rather than his worried eyes. “I got a letter last week,” she started with a sigh. “I told you about all the colleges I had applied to as early action.”
“Of course, you bright mind, you,” he said. “Did you already start getting the acceptance letters?”
“Uh, there’s another college I actually applied to. Early decision.”
“Like binding early decision?”
“Yeah, exactly,” she said, her voice trembling as she spoke. “I, uh, I applied to the University of Oxford. And I got in.”
Instead of embracing her, Stiles dropped her hands, taking a step away from her. “In England?” he asked as though he was offended. “Why would you wanna go that far?”
“It’s not about the distance,” she grimaced, finally meeting his hurt eyes. “It’s about what that school means. That’s where my dad went to school. That’s the place my parents met. That was the school that started my entire life, Stiles.”
“So, why didn’t you tell me about it? If it was so damn important, why did you never mention it?” Stiles seethed, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. “You wanna start a new life, is that it? Follow in your parents’ footsteps and meet the love of your life there? Great, (Y/N). And you made sure you did it in a way you couldn’t back out.”
“Stiles, that’s not…”
“So, what? Were you gonna wait until graduation to tell me that you were moving halfway across the world to get away from us? From me?” the boy cried. “Or were you simply going to disappear and start a new life without telling anyone? But I guess that’s your thing now, huh? Keeping big shit like this until you can’t anymore.”
“That’s not fair, Stiles,” she frowned, hugging her arms tightly across her torso. “I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I didn’t say anything. That doesn’t mean that I would have never told you about it. I’m not looking to escape. I’m looking to start my future.”
“And it looks like you were starting it without me then,” he croaked. “What does that mean for us, (Y/N)? We ride it out until graduation, and then you leave for the rest of your life?”
“I don’t… you wanna b-break up?”
“It’s inevitable now, isn’t it?” Stiles said in a tone that broke her more than the words he was speaking. “You’re gonna be in England, and I’m gonna be god knows where. It’s better just to do it now.”
That night was nothing like she had imagined it would be. She had hoped Stiles would have been excited for her and promised her everything would be alright. That somehow he would have the answers to how they could withstand so much distance because they had to make it. Out of everyone in their friend group, those two had to make it.
Instead, it had taken a turn for the worse. One second, Stiles was standing before her with a smile on his face, and the next, he was leaving through her window with tears streaming down his face. What she had most been dreading was that scenario to play out, and a week before their friend’s holiday party, it had. They had gone through life-threatening and mind-boggling situations, but it was a college acceptance letter that broke them apart.
The coming days (Y/N) spent buried in bed. Although she should have been celebrating one of her biggest achievements –other than saving lives and defeating many, many creatures– she had wasted more tears during that time than she had done the past years of her life. She was distraught and defeated, and she had no idea how she would make it through the last semester of high school, much less how she would have made it through a Christmas party.
Somehow, they had arrived at Scott’s house at the same time, even after she had made sure she left twenty minutes after Stiles. The universe liked to play its mean tricks, but that one was almost unforgivable.
“Let’s just try to stay out of each other’s way,” he grimaced. “The less we are near each other, the harder it’ll be for them to find out.”
“Harder to find out what?” Scott asked as he swung the front door open, his signature goofy grin stretched across his mouth. Instinctively, Stiles draped his arm around (Y/N)’s shoulders and smiled brightly. “Ooh, did you bring your brownies, (Y/N)?”
“Yeah,” she smiled. “Still warm from the oven.”
“Wouldn’t be a party without them,” Stiles commented. “Now, let us in. It’s kinda cold out tonight.”
The second they were inside, Stiles broke for the living room while (Y/N) moved to the kitchen with Scott. She set the tray on the overfilled kitchen island, noticing to the side that the dinner table was perfectly set up. “Oh, the table looks nice,” she commented. “But I thought we’d be doing something more low-key.”
“Yeah,” he chuckled awkwardly. “Lydia thought it’d be fun to do a more grown-up dinner party.”
“Yeah. Place settings and everything.”
“We were waiting for you guys to start eating,” he said. “We’re doing gifts after.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Slowly, the rest of the group trickled into the kitchen, greeting and hugging (Y/N) as they looked over all the food and served themselves their plates. And, of course, her seat was right next to Stiles’. Even if she had wanted to sit anywhere else, the rest had already taken their assigned seats, and the only open spot was the one that had her name.
She gave her ex-boyfriend a small smile, looking anywhere but into the brown of his eyes. Her heart beat against her chest, threatening to jump out of her body. It made her fidgety as everyone ate, thinking any of the wereanimals around her would be able to tell how she was feeling.
But Scott was laughing with Stiles, Malia was talking to Lydia, and Hayden, Liam, and Mason had their own conversation running. (Y/N) was all by herself. She was surrounded by all the people she loved, but it was the loneliest she had felt in a long time. Without the usual comforting words from Stiles, she couldn’t help but feel so out of place. It was the happiest time of the year, but the girl was miserable, and it hurt that it didn’t seem like the boy she loved was sad as well.
“Alright,” Lydia spoke up as everyone ignored their mostly empty plates. “Now that our bellies are full, I think it’s time for Secret Santa! And I truly hope you all kept it a secret this time.”
“Not that it’d matter anyway,” Liam chuckled. “We all know we ask for help every time.”
“Anyways,” she said, ignoring the soft laughter that erupted from the group. “Let’s go to the living room, and (Y/N) you’ll go first.”
“Oh, uh, sure,” she smiled as she followed the group into the living room. She crouched under the decorated Christmas tree, pulling out the gift that had been there for almost two weeks. “I got Lydia.”
“How wonderful!” the redhead mused, quick to hug her friend and rip away the wrapping paper. Inside the gift box was a mosaic picture of Lydia, Allison, and (Y/N), the first time they had finally considered each other friends. “Oh, it’s beautiful! I wish I could take it with me everywhere.”
“It was hard to get it just right, but I loved how it turned out.”
“It’s perfect, (Y/N),” she beamed. “Thank you.”
“Of course. I love you, Lids.”
“Love you too,” the girl said as she wrapped her friend in a tighter hug. “My turn!”
Lydia had gifted Liam nine books out of his TBR list —nine because of his lacrosse number. Then, Liam gifted Scott a new leather jacket so he could “actually look cool when riding his motorcycle,” Liam snickered. Scott then gifted Malia a light blue hoodie to add to her ever-growing collection, while Malia gifted Hayden a journal and pen set, saying it was for when her mind felt too busy. After a warm smile and a hug, she announced her gift was for Mason, laughing as he pulled out an ugly cat sweater. Once the loud laughter subsided, Mason gifted Stiles a massage mat for his Jeep.
“For when you’re taking really long drives,” the boy smiled, clearly proud of himself. “There’s quite some distance between here and D.C. It’ll come in handy.”
“Yeah,” he chuckled as he hugged Mason. “Thanks, man. It’s great.”
“Don’t mention it.”
As Mason sat back down, Stiles cleared his throat as he pulled the last gift. Everyone knew by then who it was for. There was no one else left. “Well, I guess you all know who this is for,” he said. “I hope you like it, (Y/N).”
The girl received the bag with a soft smile, trying her best to swallow the tears that were threatening to spill. She had forgotten for a second how cruel the universe could be. She pulled out the white tissue paper first before finding a beautiful brown bear dressed in a blue knit sweater. Around its neck, there was a necklace with something she could only assume was a soundwave. With curiosity washing over her, she looked to Stiles for an explanation.
“Uh, so, it’ll make a lot more sense if you press the bear’s hand,” he stammered. Once she died as told, the sound broke her. From deep in the belly of the teddy bear, her father’s voice rang out, singing the words of “You Are My Sunshine.” There was not a single night when she was little that her father didn’t sing that to her, and even as she grew old for the lullaby, he would call her sunshine. “I got a recording from your mom of your dad singing the song when you were a baby,” Stiles spoke over the music. “And the necklace is the image of the soundwave of your dad calling you sunshine.”
Tears had long since fallen down her cheeks, clutching the bear in her arms as though it was her own father. With her eyes closed, it was almost as though he was right there, singing to her. But it was what came after the song that shattered her. “You’re gonna do great things, (Y/N),” her father said through the bear. “I love you forever, my little sunshine.”
At that moment, all she wanted to do was hug Stiles and kiss him like she had done a million times before. That was the boy she had fallen in love with. The one that cared and listened. The one that had made her heart race and her stomach turn into butterflies. She wanted to tell him she loved him and never let him go, but she couldn’t. Just like she could never do with her father.
“I, uh,” she said as she stood from the couch, feeling as though she would faint in the crowded room. “I need some air.”
(Y/N) stammered her way out of the living room and through the front door, only allowing herself to break down when she was at the end of the driveway. She fell to her knees and hugged the bear to her chest as she cried, letting the hurt that had accumulated over the years spill onto the pavement. In less than six months, she was going to walk into a new life halfway across the globe without the support of her father and now, without the support of Stiles. All alone.
She should have been celebrating. She knew that. She should have been crying tears of joy and jumping into her love’s arms. Instead, it was the bear’s arms that she could feel. The softness of its fur, the sound of her father’s voice.
Without even realizing it, she had begun singing along to the lullaby, sniffling between words as the tears didn’t relent. “You’re gonna do great things, (Y/N),” her father said once more through the bear. “I love you forever, my little sunshine.”
“I love you too, dad,” she cried.
“Hey,” his voice startled her. Through teary eyes, she looked up to find Stiles draping a jacket over her shoulders. He slid to the ground next to her, facing the house before them as she was now. “I’m sorry. I bought the gift weeks ago, and I wasn’t sure if I was still allowed to give it to you.”
“No, it was… i-it was perfect,” she stammered, running her hand over the bear’s fur. “It’s just everything rushed over me. Like the breakup, the fact that I won’t be here next year, the fact that my dad won’t even see me gradua…”
Another string of sobs ransacked (Y/N)’s body, but that time it wasn’t the bear she was hugging. Stiles had wrapped his arms around her, pressing her into his chest. She could smell his cologne and feel his warmth, a feeling she had missed for the past seven days. All she wanted was to melt into his touch and profess to him all that she felt. But she couldn’t. Not anymore. Because he didn’t want it.
“I didn’t want things to be this way,” she cried into his chest. “I didn’t want everything to fall apart.”
Stiles remained quiet as she cried, a hard feat for someone like him. But he let her cry and cry until only quiet sniffles filled the air. Because he hadn’t wanted things to be that way either.
He knew he had overreacted. When he had told (Y/N) his plans of enrolling in George Washington University all the way across the county, she had told him they could make it work. Especially if she got into any of the ivy leagues she had applied to on the East Coast. It had been fine. Hell, it had been perfect.
But when she told him that she wouldn’t just be a couple of states away but that she would be on another continent, he couldn’t help but let his abandonment issues take control.
He knew she was brilliant. He knew she deserved to do and be all that she had dreamed. But he feared that once she achieved all of her goals, he would just not fit into her life anymore.
“You’re gonna go on to do great things, (Y/N),” he sighed sadly as her tears stopped. “You’re gonna go to Oxford, just like your parents, and you’re gonna probably graduate at the top of your class on your way. And I’ll be here —well, in Washington, technically—cheering you on.”
“But why couldn’t we be great together, Stiles? We couldn’t we both go on to do great things, together?”
“Come on, (Y/N). Once you’re there, you’re gonna meet so many people, and you’ll have guys falling on their knees for you,” he chuckled dryly. “I won’t fit into your new world. I mean, you said it yourself: that’s where your parents met and your life began. And now, maybe you’ll have a new beginning. And years from today, we’ll run into each other, and you’ll tell me about your job and your husband and your kids, and I’ll be so happy for you. Because you serve all the love and happiness in the world, even if it’s without me.”
“Have you even asked yourself if that’s what I want?” (Y/N) asked as she left his warm embrace, her red eyes boring into his. “I’m not leaving because I’m searching for a new life. I want to go to Oxford because it’s one of the last things I can share with my dad. I can walk down the same halls he did, I can take classes in the same classrooms, and eat at the same places he did. But I was always going to come back, Stiles. Because my friends are here, my mom is here, because you are here. I don’t want to run into you and talk about another man or the kids I would have with him. I don’t want to run into you at all. I want to walk beside you, Stiles. If I ever have kids, it’s only if they’re a part of you too,” she cried, fresh tears falling down her already-stained cheeks. “If you don’t love me anymore, then fine. I can understand that, and I can walk away. But don’t you dare say that you wouldn’t fit into my life because you’ve been there longer than anyone I know, and I need you to be there until the end. Because I already lost someone important to me and I can’t lose you too. Not you.”
“(Y/N), I don’t want to lose you either,” he sobbed. “But how can we fight with the distance? How could we ever withstand the fact that we’ll be an ocean away?”
“We have gone through worse battles than a plane ride, Stiles. We have been on the brink of death more times this past year than any person would in their lifetime. Do you really think being in a different time zone is the limit to our relationship? I know the future isn’t promised but you were the one person I always knew would be there.”
“I’m scared, okay?! I’m scared that you’ll meet someone better than me, (Y/N). I’m terrified that you’ll realize that maybe I’m not the guy that can give you your happy ever after,” he finally confessed. His voice croaked, and his chest heaved as the words fell out of his mouth faster than he could ever stop them. “This week has been torture without you. But it’s made me realize that Beacon Hills has always been too small for you. After May, you’re gonna go out there and find your place. And this town will be nothing but a memory you’ll come back to.”
“There is no one better for me than you, Stiles, and Beacon Hills will always be my home,” she replied softly. Her cold hand found his cheek, and she wiped away his tears with her thumb. “I don’t want to know a life where you’re not there. You can’t give up on us without even trying, Stiles. You just can’t.”
Without thinking twice, (Y/N) crashed her lips onto his, sinking into the warmth of his mouth. After a week, kissing him felt like the very first time. It was desperate and filled with need —the need for closeness and passion, the need for love. Instinctively, Stiles’ hands found her waist and pulled her closer to him, wondering how he ever thought he could live without her touch.
“I love you, Stiles, and I don’t even want to think about ever having to love someone else,” she whispered as she parted from him. “My heart belongs to you. And if this is the end, it’ll still remain in your hands.”
“I couldn’t love anyone else like I love you, (Y/N),” he replied with a soft smile. “But I just can’t help the thoughts that flood my brain sometimes.”
“Then don’t listen to them and listen to me when I say that since the moment I met you, I’ve known you were it for me. There is no other man waiting for me in Oxford. It’s you, and it will always be you,” (Y/N) said before kissing him softly once more. “You’re the best thing that has happened to me, Stiles Stilinski, and you’re the only thing that I want to keep happening to me.”
“I can’t believe I ever broke up with you. Especially during Christmas,” Stiles chuckled as he rested his forehead against hers, flicking the tip of her nose with his own. “It was honestly the worst week of my life.”
“Including being possessed?” Scott’s voice startled them as he came into view. “Although, I get it because this was completely avoidable.”
(Y/N) chuckled as she took Scott’s extended hand and got on her feet, wiping away any tears that still remained. “Did you hear that whole thing?”
“More or less,” he chuckled. “It’s a bit hard not to when I was coming to see if you guys were okay.”
“We’re good now, Scotty,” Stiles grinned. “Just had some unresolved feelings to work, though.”
“Can you not mention the whole thing about the breakup? I don’t wanna make it a whole thing.”
“That’s a bit hard, (Y/N),” Malia called from the open front door. “We all kind of already know.”
“Oh, cool, great,” she said as she hid in Stile’s embrace. “That’s not embarrassing at all.”
“Eh, at least our parents are back together,” Liam commented. “Best Christmas present.”
“It really is, huh?” Stiles whispered as he kissed the top of her head.
“Yes. Very cute and adorable,” Lydia added in a desperate tone. “Now, can we go back inside before Hayden and Mason finish all the brownies?”
As the group walked back into the house, Stiles and (Y/N) shared one more moment together on the front porch. “Hey, look up,” Stiles said with a smile. “Mistletoe.”
“Funny that they’d hang that at a werewolf's home,” she chuckled. “Although, I’m pretty sure that one’s plastic.”
“And I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to kiss me.”
“Maybe I’m waiting for another guy to kiss under the plant.” Stiles frowned at her words, and all she could do was laugh. “Too soon?”
“Much,” he said. “Now, come here.”
He snaked his hands on either side of her face and kissed her passionately. He kissed her for every day they had spent apart. He kissed her for every hurtful word he had spewed. He kissed her as a promise of his love for her. Stiles kissed her like she was his future.

“H-nnng Holy shit Stiles,” my breath caught in my throat as I noticed him standing in the corner of my bedroom. Eyes dark and filled with…something, something very un-stiles like. He stayed there, staring at me silently.
“S-stiles?” Something was off but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. He had been weird since the pack meeting last night but when I tried to corner him later in the day to talk about it he always seemed to just be leaving the room.
“Why are you acting weird?” I hoped my voice didn’t betray how nervous I felt. I had never felt this way around him before. We had been friends for years. But the person standing in the corner of my room was not the Stiles I had been friends with for years. I reached into the pocket of my jeans for my phone, hoping to play off that I got a text but knowing that this would trigger movement. He stepped forward towards me, his arms tense under his tight mauve t shirt.
“Stiles please, you’re scaring me,” my voice was barely above a whisper but I started to feel something knot and twist in my stomach. He stepped forward again and my nose reacted instantly, he smelled different. He still smelt like Stiles but with an overpowering note of….sex?
I swallowed deeply as he took another step towards me. Taking a leap of faith and throwing my phone on my bed side table. Clearly the fertility ritual we performed last night as a favour to Deaton was having residual effects we hadn’t accounted for. Including the almost singularly horny Stiles in front of me. And clearly I was feeling the effects as well as I could feel every muscle in my body tighten with every step closer he came. I mean I’m not going to lie and say I haven’t been attracted to the guy for literal years but it’s Stiles, how do you even make a move on a Stiles?
Stiles suddenly closed the distance between us, his face diving into the crook of my deck as though he were scenting me. Every nerve ending I had caught on fire and I found myself arching into him with a gasp.
“Nng- you smell so fucking good,” he all but growled, placing his arms on either side of me, effectively trapping me against the wall. I hadn’t even realised it but I was breathing him in like a fucking oxygen mask. Okay definitely didn’t expect my first time fucking Stiles to be this kinky but clearly both of us are feeling a little wrapped up in this moment.
“St-Stiles,” I gasped as I felt his mouth brush against my pulse point. My entire body freezing as though the contact was too much to bare. I was arched so far into him it was as though I was trying to morph us into one body.
My eyes slipped closed as he rubbed his lips lightly up and down my neck, my hands curling into fists at my sides as I held myself back from gripping onto his arms. I felt him smile against my neck and was startled as he grabbed my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze.
“I know you want this, you were practically vibrating all day.” I avoided his eyes trying to look anywhere but into the dark brown lusty orbs in front of me, trying to find any semblance of control I had left as my brain kept screaming BAD IDEA, BAD IDEA, BAD IDEA at me.
He gripped my chin tighter and I felt myself like a magnet attracted back to his gaze. “Why are you holding back.” Each word was forceful, spoken with intention and with every expectation for me to respond.
And fuck me I’d love to respond but everything was coming up blank, my body and mind apparently hyper fixated on every inch of skin I could feel connecting with his. I was getting lost in his eyes and tried to open my mouth and speak but all that came out was a soft moan. I watched as his eyes became impossibly darker and he clenched his jaw, releasing mine and moving his hands to intertwine with mine. I jolted at the intimate contact, weirdly enough being mores timulated by our fingers connecting than when his entire face was pressed into my neck.
His forehead pressed against mine and I felt my eyes close, “Breathe,” he all but commanded and against my will I followed. I felt my chest rise and fall deeply, every breath feeling like a pant. My eyes fluttered open to see his filled not only with that dark lust but also something else, something far more powerful.
A small smile graced his face and before I could process what was happening our lips connected. I felt every breath I had just taken leave my body, people usually say fireworks but this, this felt like something else entirely. It was like the fire in my body that was already burning hot erupted into wave of flames, crashing uncontrollably in my body. I trembled and gasped, allowing for his tongue to pass and I felt myself meeting him halfway. A deep throbbing started in my core and I pulled my hands out from his, moving them to grib into his soft hair.
I felt his energy shift as he growled at the back of his throat and gripped my back roughly, exploring with his hands as we continued kissing deeply. I was completely taken by him, barely registering anything but the wave of sensations that came with every touch. My breath caught in the back of my throat and I threw my head back as his hand found it’s way to my already too sensitive nipples. Teasing and twisting them until I was all but writhing in his arms.
“Please Stiles,” I groaned not even really knowing what I was asking for. All I knew was I needed more. I faltered as his hands disappeared from their place, my nipples aching from the attention but yearning for more. He reached his hands under my thin t shirt and pulled it over my head, thank you past me for choosing today not to wear a bra. I desperately followed suit, pushing his tshirt over his muscles and feeling conflicted between wanting to leave lingering touches and wanting to remove his clothing as soon as possible.
“Fuck!” All my thoughts were interrupted as he twisted us around all of a sudden I was lying on my bed. Before I could even register what was happening Stiles dove down and took my left nipple in his mouth. In what I can only describe as magic his other hand disappeared down my jeans and instantly found it’s target, my underwear already completely soaked. My mouth opened in a silent cry as I felt his fingers start stimulating my clit and his tongue flicking at my nipple.
Every part of my body was caught in a war, the sensations were too much but I needed to be closer. I wanted to make him feel good but I was completely lost in a haze of pleasure, already close to climaxing and we had only just taken our tops off.
He moved his stimulations to my other tit as finger continued circling slowly and deliberately around my clit. I could feel the wave coming, it was too much, too fast, too good.
“Oh my god,” my eyes shut tight as my entire body erupted into wave after wave of pleasure. I arched against Stiles and barely registered the hard bulge pressing against my body as I came harded than I had ever come in my entire life. Coloured circles bubbled in my shut vision as it felt like every neuron in my brain exploded.
As I slowly came down from my high and my brain started functioning again I registered Stiles pressing soft kisses against my skin as he slowly pulled my jeans down my legs. Being sure to brush gently down the entire length of them, every tough jolting me into a spasm as my still all too sensitive nerve endings struggled to compute. Somehow his pants were already gone and I could now make out his incredibly strained member barely covered by his black briefs.
I reached for it blindly, wanting to make him feel good, wanting to gain some semblance of control back but he moved himself away, continuing to softly graze his hands up and down my body as my shivers slowly died down. I locked eyes with him and saw the restraint there, he was ready to burst but was holding everything back to ensure that had enough time to recover, to make sure I was okay. Fuck that.
“Why are you holding back?” I grinned at him devilishly as his eyes switched to almost black. A guttural sound came from the back of his throat and before I could process he had ripped, yes ripped, my underwear off, leaving me completely exposed. Before I could register what was happening his entire body was above me with my legs on either side of him. Completely open, completely exposed, my leftover cum from my previous orgasm leaking between us. His underwear disappeared and I watched him hungrily, waiting for more, wanting for more.
My eyes moved down and I gasped at the sheer size of his dick. I didn’t think it would fit but fuck me was I up for the challenge. Precum was dribbling down the side and I licked my lips, completely mesmerised and wanting nothing more than to stuff the entiere thing down my throat.
“Your fucking killing me, stop that,” my eyes lifted to meet his and I smiled sheepishly, realising I was just caught staring hungrily at his dick like it was the last pizza slice. He moved his body closer, my legs moving higher and my knees being almost in line with my shoulders. Fuck this position left no room for hiding, he was going to split me in two.
“Ready?” he all but growled. A vein throbbing in his neck with the sheer force of his restraint from thrusting the entire length straight into my pussy. I nodded dumbly, not able to find words as he slowed began moving inside me, inch by inch.
His movement was painstakingly slow and I felt his member stretch my hole to it’s limits and beyond. A deep pleasure instantly filling me matched with a sharp pain. Stiles was breathing heavily, his gaze firmly fixed on my face as I whimpered and wriggled to accomodate his size. I furrowed my brow, back in the space of no control, feeling every feeling starting to build up inside me again when I had just come down from my highest high.
“You okay?” he whispered and I felt myself at a loss on how to answer. My brain was completely gone so I surprised myself when I responded, “Feels..so…good.” I didn’t even recognise my own voice, a combination of a groan and a whisper. All of a sudden Stiles pulled out completely, leaving me feeling empty and void, my eyes shot open in time to see him smirk as he slammed back into me hard.
“FUCK!” I all but screamed. Writhing under him as he set a hard but slow pace. I felt my nails drag against his skin as I gripped and scratched at his back, trying to find anything to ground me in this moment of sensation. I was so so full, every edge of my being felt like it was being touched with every movement he made, the dragging still hitching and causing pain to my adjusting tight passage but the pain intensifying the pleasure ten fold.
“Please Stiles,” I panted underneath him, needing more, feeling like something was just out of my reach.
“Please what?” he teased, forcing me to engage, refusing to let up his thrusts.
“Please!” I repeated. My brain foggy and becoming more distant with every dive into my core his dick made.
Stiles captured my lips with his own, my mouth exploding in the mingling taste of sweat, stiles and me. He pulled away all too quickly and I found myself whimpering again, my body following him before realising he was out of reach and collapsing back onto the pillow.
He leaned down again and placed his mouth next to my ear, “Come on baby girl, tell me what you want.” It was all too much, I needed more from him, I need everything from him, I felt like I was about to explode.
“FUCK ME STILES! PLEASE, FUCK ME HARDER! FUCK ME FASTER!” I lost it and he quickly followed suit, gripping me and lifting so he we were both on our knees without him skipping a beat. His pace became relentless and his thrusts more powerful. The new angle unlocked a space in me I didn’t know existed and every plunge hit deep into my core where I saw stars. I had never felt anything like it, he was drilling into me at an ungodly pace and every part of my body felt like a livewire about to explode. I couldn’t tell if I had just hit an endless constant orgasm or I was teetering on the edge of something supersonic.
“You’re so fucking gorgeous, you’re mine, no one else’s, mine,” Stiles rambled in my ear as I completely lost myself to the sensations, unable to form words. I could tell he was close, his movements becoming more erratic and his hips stuttering with every second thrust. I grabbed the last remnant of my will and lunged to him, grabbing his mouth and a deep kissing and nipping at his bottom lip hard, the metallic taste of blood hitting my tongue.
“F-uck.” Stiles was sent over the edge, his warmth exploding within me with one final thrust and with that I was gone. My entire body wen rigid and my eyes scrunched shut as explosion after explosion of pleasure ran through me. I spasmed wildy and felt Stiles groan and hold me tightly as I was off in space, my eyes rolling back in head and my mind completely blank from everything except the feeling of Stiles within me. Tears formed at the corners of my eyes as my hands found Stiles’ arms, gripping tightly as I rode the wave. It went for what felt like forever but I eventually came back to earth, Stiles was back to pressing soft kisses all over my face and body as my spasms became fewer and further between. I was strung out and exhausted and I could tell from his panting and his mix of sweat on me and mine on his that he was equally spent. Carefully he cradled me and moved me back against his chest as he lay down against the pillow. Whispering sweet nothings in my ear as I fell asleep, him still being nestled deep inside me.
***************
the next morning
I awoke slowly to a deep rise and fall below me, warmth completely enveloping my being. My eyes fluttered open and I was met with Stiles’ angelic face, framed by the golden morning light coming in through the window. He was smiling softly at me, clearly having been watching me sleep for some time. I giggled and nestled into his chest, the giddy feeling within me bubbling as the love we had all but admitted to each other the night before settled around us. I shifted, realising he was still inside me, slowly and carefully I moved away, wincing at both the emptiness and slight pain I had from embracing him at such a size. He lazily stroked my hair and I smiled at him, sitting up and reaching for my phone, 15 notifications flashed on my screen and laughed as each popped up before throwing the phone to Stiles to take a look and going to the bathroom, knowing he would follow.

sterek fic recs - all completed
i struggle big time when it comes to finding good sterek fic recs, so i thought i'd make a list of some of the soft fics i've found along the way.
stuck in reverse by crazyassmurdererwall (smartalli) - i've gone back to this one multiple times. it's got pack mum stiles, awesome character development for derek, their romantic relationship comes together naturally, and you even get jackson and stiles as best friends, which is one of my favourite tropes in teen wolf fan fiction. their relationship had so much potential to be fucking awesome and the writers just brushed over it, so i adore that fan fic writers love to build on it.
something more by kaistrex (weishen) - i actually really loved this one, the characterization is near perfect and it was so fucking romantic? the way their whole relationship comes to be is just so sweet and stiles makes it so simple and easy for derek, there's no pushing, no yelling, barely any angst. it's just a really wholesome fic which is honestly my favourite kind. i like the easy love kind of stories.
five times stiles woke up in derek's bed unexpectedly, and the one time it was on purpose by isthatbloodonhshsirt (wasterella) - this one is just super cheeky and soft; stiles keeps getting into rough situations and wakes up in derek's bed after every one. it's a whole lot of sweet fluff and stiles being insanely oblivious. good for when you want an easy and fun sterek read. i also recommend going through the entirety of this authors works, they have some really great fics, such as five time stiles fell out of a window and the one time he jumped and it's not pretend when it's real.
dysfunctional domesticity by yodasyoyo - a short and sweet christmas one shot, it's absolutely adorable and derek is a cheeky shit, i absolutely loved this one. i typically prefer longer fics, but i do enjoy a good one shot to get a quick fix of the ship i'm after.
gracious in defeat by yodasyoyo - another one from this author, i do recommend going through their works as well, they have some really sweet stories. this one is a soft one about stiles going to stay with derek to try and escape the hell that is being trapped in beacon hills. there is so much domestic bliss in this story, it felt so pretty to read, if that makes sense. there is a small bit of angst, but it gets resolved pretty quickly. i'd definitely read this more than once. derek is so vulnerable in this fic, and the characterization was great.
click here for part two of my sterek fic recs!
