Summary: Much to her mother's chagrin, the Avengers take Cassie out for a 'family' day at Disneyland

Reasons why I love it: They're all such idiots, ugh, I love them. Scott the concerned parent is adorable as hell, and the team scattering in a million different directions feels like exactly what would happen if someone made the mistake of letting them into Disneyland. This fic is adorable, and we get way too little Scott in this fandom as is, so I highly encourage you to give this one a read!

Laser Tag, You're It! by Corsets_and_Cardigans

Pairing: Steve/Bucky/Tony Rating: T Words: 1,223 Tags: Team Bonding, Laser Tag, Established Relationship

Summary: Bucky found that the future held a lot of new things. Scary, wild, fun, things. Things they never thought of back in the day. Things they did think of that hadn’t come to pass, or were long since outdated. But one of the best things, he’d found, was laser tag.

Reasons why I love it: Steve, Bucky, horny jail for both of you! Though to be fair, who could resist Tony Stark wearing black tac gear? I love all the team hijinks, and the laser tag scene is super well written! This fic is fantastic, and I hope you check it out for yourself!

Cake Toppers And Fireball Piñata by Naivelittleprincess

Pairing: Steve/Bucky/Tony Rating: T Words: 1,709 Tags: Birthday, Ensemble Cast, Fluff and Crack

Summary: For a bunch of master assassins, spies, and superhumans, the Avengers are lousy at secret keeping. Forget world domination or holding lives hostage, their enemies should just get Earth's mightiest heroes to plan a birthday party and be done with it. Tony's surprise(?) birthday bash.

Reasons why I love it: Awww, look at the Avengers trying to keep secrets. I'm sure this won't end in absolute disaster. Steve and Bucky are ADORABLE in this, and I really love how nonchalant Tony is about this entire ordeal. Plus, the party at the end sounds like so much fun, I want to be there. This fic is great, and I hope you give it a shot!

Clint Barton is an Excellent Final Girl by Bella_Dahlia

Pairing: Steve/Tony, Bucky/Clint Rating: T Words: 3,711 Tags: Avengers Movie Night, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Pining Tony

Summary: It's movie night, and our favorite only slightly dysfunctional super hero fam watches Nightmare on Elm Street. That's it, that's the fic.

Reasons why I love it: I agree 100% with Peter that Nightmare on Elm's Street is required viewing. This fic is so much fun, I love all of the team shenanigans, and of course, Peter's take on Stony's hopeless flirting is hilarious. I love this one, and I bet you will too!

Summary: When a friendly Christmas brawl gets out of hand Natasha knows the perfect stand-in tree.

Reasons why I love it: One does not simply challenge Steve, I suppose. This fic is so funny, what with the whole team being utterly resigned to what's going to happen and acting accordingly. I really love the Stony in this too, they're so cute together. This fic is lovely, and I hope you go and check it out for yourself!

sometimes i think of an interesting fic concept for a fandom other than this one and think to myself, “gee, this is such a good and obvious concept, surely theres fics like this out there” or “ooh, this piece of media had enough dark elements, surely there has to be some good grimdark aus somewhere” and then i open ao3 and am forcibly reminded of the fact that the dream smp is the only fandom that isn’t obsessed with slash fics and i just have to wallow in the lack of nice content and my own inability to write (and, lets be honest here, commitment to most fandoms outside of the dsmp atm)

like genuinely, i dont think i can name a single fandom outside of the dream smp that has such a wide array of found family/friendship centered fics

stranger things? its all steddie or byler (as much as i love the both), etc.

my hero? its all bakudeku or tododeku or shindeku or literally everyone with deku.

detroit become human? its all hank and connor or connor and gavin or gavin and nines or markus and simon, etc.

our flag means death? its all co-captains (as much as i adore them as well) or steddy hands, etc.

the mcu? its all stucky or stony (or incest or selfcest lmao), etc.

sander sides? its all prinxiety or analogical or moralogical or lamp or lampd or whatever the new lamp plus janus and remus ship name is (yes more selfcest), etc.

gotham tv? its all nygmobblepot or jim and oswald or bruce and jeremiah (which i have so many questions about, but that is not the point of this post lmao)

etc etc

and i genuinely think its to a lot of these fandom’s detriments that everything has to be centered around a ship no matter what (esp mcu spiderman, pleASE GOD JUST GIVE ME GOOD POST NWH PETER PARKER ANGST THE CLOSEST THING IVE GOTTEN IS FUCKING SPIDERMAN!TOMMYINNIT AUS DO YOU SEE MY PROBLEM) because it really stops fandoms and fan-creators from really exploring the platonic and familial relationships between these characters and that exploration being in the main spotlight.

like sure, steddie is great, but i would love to read a big fic that is all about Steve and Robin moving away from hawkins together and navigating the city and sharing an apartment together and losing their shared jobs every week and continue to explore and establish new boundries and systems with each other and learning things the other never thought were important but brings such important insight into the other that they need to understand each other even better.

bylers cool, but i also want to read about will and el finally getting to meet each other and know each other and realise theyre so much more alike than they originally thought, never quite being seen as people, as the kids they are, but instead as these cool beacons of their friends’ efforts against the upside down and the government, and them becoming siblings, becoming the wonder twins, i want to see will trying to teach el how to draw, and el showing will all of her favorite tv shows, and the two becoming so intertwined that they know every preference the other has and how they can support each other through public school of a foreign town.

sure, bakudeku or tododeku’s okay, but i want to read a fic all about izuku growing up quirkless and what that means for his relationships and how much closer he is with his mom than other kids his age and how deep his mistrust of any other adults runs and what that means for how he acts once he finally gets to ua and how he sees all might as a surrogate father in place of the man that left him and his mother for the states and how that and his god worship of the man affects how he treats one for all and how he makes his decisions and how he prioritizes what all might tells him over what is actually good for him.

hank and connor is.. something, but why cant we read about how hank sees his son in connor and how it affects him to watch connor make these self destructive decisions in order to prioritize human life and his instructions over himself, and maybe about hank attempting to scare connor into deviancy, into some kind of self preservation, so that the poor thing can at least make a decision for himself and prioritize himself, and not die.

i love the co-captains as much as the next guy, but i want to read about how stede came across his crew, how he came to find out they like the children’s stories that he only held onto to remind him of his children, how he looked at lucius and saw himself in him, how lucius somehow managed to grab hold of every trait stede was bullied for, that was trained out of him, and emphases them and make them into a special kind of armor, and how stede takes lucius under his wing just to watch over him so that the boy will have someone on his side when he inevitably trips in his dance past (lets face it flirts and insults through) every hurtle that caught the heel of young stede’s shoe. how stede now will look up at that painting of a lighthouse and wonder if the problem wasnt that he wasnt a lighthouse, just that he hadn’t found the shore yet, and now maybe he has.

Do you see what I mean? How many fics are there that are like this that you can name off the top of your head? very few i imagine.

on top of this a lot of fandoms, because of their lack of exploration of non romantic relationships within their media dont only miss out on the sweet or bittersweet but the all fascinating grimdark aus that may spawn out of taking an absolute ship-less lens on the media you consume, i mean, the only fandom i can find any good or nuanced grimdark forced family fics in is, again, the dream smp.

and this has happened multiple times, where im watching something and i cant help but imagine how good a ctrinity style grimdark forced family au fic would be with these characters with these dynamics, btw.

(cw for all of the fun stuff that comes with forced family like kidnapping and implied abuse and characters overall being miserable lol - its not important to read, its just examples of dark aus im talking ab, just scroll to “etcetcetc” to skip past all that stuffs)

multiverse of madness, where instead of wanda trying to get to america and killing her in an attempt of getting her to make a portal to a universe where wanda’s boys exist going as far as it does, america offers herself up as her surrogate daughter and bringing the both of them through to them and living a normal life as a family in exchange for wanda to stop tearing places and people apart in this universe and others and for America’s life to be spared. and so she brings them both to a world with wanda’s boys, and wanda is just so so blinded by her own excitement and joy. she discards of that world’s wanda quickly, careful to ensure the boys were still asleep. then weeks, months maybe, go by and the boys start having nightmares but wont tell her why, what the nightmares are about, instead they wait until the door is closed and wanda’s down the hall to murmur in hushed tones about what they saw. (”shes not mommy, is she? mommy doesnt act like that. where did mommy go?”). america tries to pretend everythings fine and that theres nothing wrong with this twisted family dynamic wanda’s built up, but she cant truly hide its affect on her, the bags under her eyes are heavy and her fingers are always twitching, she flinches when wanda gestures with her arms to wildly and freezes when one of the boys accidentally breaks a glass. wanda doesnt stop using the darkhold. she could stop using whenever she wanted to, is what she tells herself, but she just needs to ensure no one is going to show up and take her boys away from her, she has to make sure america remains by her side, she has to make sure nothing goes wrong again. she can stop whenever she wants to, the thing is, she doesnt want to stop.

gotham tv (s4), where ra’s successfully kidnapps bruce and takes him and jeremiah under his wing, trying to raise them both to be like him, maybe barbra gets kidnapped aswell. ra’s wants them to act like a family, him as the father, barbra as the mom, and bruce, jeremiah, and talia as their children. at first this is all jeremiah could ask for. hes close with bruce, his need for simultaneous creation and destruction. a brother he didnt hate, and a present father. at first bruce is all angered yelling and venomous insults and scathing sarcasm. he comments on wanting to go home at every opportunity that presents itself, how he preferred alfreds cooking, he liked jim’s stories better, selina taught him cooler things, some days hed even complain about missing the criminals of gotham in an attempt to emphasis just how much he does not want to be here, no matter how cushy the bedding is or how nice the locals. at first all barbra does is attempt to kill, or at the very least injure, ra’s. some days its a steak knife to the gut, some a fountain pen to the face. ra’s is fine every time. hammer to temple. she doesnt buy time for herself, nor bruce. rope around the neck. she cant even injure him in any long term way. boiled water down the front. for a long time talia is jealous of the attention her father gives bruce and jeremiah. he spends long days trying to train the two in tandem, showing them how to protect themselves and how to injure others, how to tell the differences between the dead languages and how to read the basics, how to earn the trust of others and force them to fall into the trap of owing you favors. that is until she discovers how they all ended up here. shes left wondering if her father truly has the right of the world at heart, if she has to respect him and his decisions just because she is his only true daughter. jeremiah isnt having fun anymore. bruce has gone completely silent now. barbra has long since been subdued and doesnt even try to fight anymore. but talia stays quiet, even as the first time she hears bruces voice in months is when he yelps and tries to cover his face from being struck again, even as jeremiah mumbles to himself about someone named jerome, even as barbra spends her time staring whistfully into a bird bath when shes not cleaning or sitting pretty. (she tells talia, one quiet evening - a break from ra’s training bruce and jeremiah until they break, instead they’re allowed to curl up in a corner together and try to decipher books written in hundreds of dead languages - how she’d been engaged once. she wasnt happy, but she loved him nonetheless. she told her that she wondered sometimes how she would have turned out if she hadn’t left, if they got married. would’ve one of them left the other eventually anyways? would she have still ended up here? talia wishes she didnt talk to her, if only because it made staying quiet and continuing to live her life as a bystander harder.)

unfortunately though, the dream smp (as far as ive seen) is the only fandom that explores family relationships and friendships so thoroughly and then delves deeper into more dark and upsetting aus (ive already said it once, but c!trinity!!) without there being a worry about weird romantic or sexual implications or plot points (which i partially blame killing stalking for the existence of - kidnappers arent hot pleeaaase)

some dsmp fics that i cant imagine being nearly as well done - or created at all - if they were written for different fandoms (all on ao3):

the dead dont dream by penink - ctommy dies during exile, multiple times actually, and dream thinks this is the perfect opportunity to test out the revive book

withered by ThatWeirdGuyInTheBush - Manburg is a real country in a world based on the 1940s, and ctubbo decides hes willing to do something drastic for the good of his country

guided evolution by fathermooshroom - ctommyinnit becomes spiderman, unfortunately being spiderman comes with all of the issues of being spiderman and having a secret identity (i cried uncontrollably multiple times dont let the beginning trick you)

If You Need Somewhere Safe by random_on_main - when ctommy finally escapes logstedshire he takes sam up on his offer of giving him a place to stay rather than hiding in techno’s basement

passerine by thcscus (blujamas) - everyones favorite legendary ctechnoblade gives a visit to an old friend and comes to find out hes a king and has two sons

tommyinnit’s clinic for supervillains by bonesandthebees (bonesandcacti) - tommyinnit is seriously just trying to get through life and happens upon a supervillain passed out and bleeding out in an alleyway on his way home from work one night

cataclysm by thanotaphobia - phil and techno finally conquer the country they’d been at war with for the past several years, but when they discover the lone king to the country is a teenage boy they take him as prisoner rather than killing him

the world forgetting by the world forgot by bonesandthebees (bonesandthecacti) - ctommy has forgotten his entire life, all he knows is that villains kiddnapped and used him for his healing powers, and the superhero dream took him in after rescuing him and allowed him to become his sidekick

its now 5 am, i only made this because i was thinking about that one video of someone talking about how weird it was that the top two relationship tags according to the stats ao3 released where gen (wilbur&tommy and wilbur&techno&tommy) and basically making it obvious they only thought the only reason you would write or read fanfiction would be for ships and slash fics and just,, how sad that is, because this fandom has some of the best fics ive read without even considering putting any romance in the spotlight and i think its far more fulfilling to be able to read fanfiction for the sake of a good story rather than getting to see two characters kiss (which is not to say reading fanfiction to see two character kiss isnt exactly what you need sometimes, im just saying theres more out there to love), and also because i was frustrated by the fact that nothing interesting looking came up when i looked up the tags ‘post series: no way home’ and ‘homeless peter parker’ lmao. if yall have any good post nwh angst pls pls pls send it my way, i need desperately to cry over a character that is not tommyinnit please. im gonna crash now, sorry if this long this is shit - its wayy too fucking early.

an au because I don’t have the resource to write actual fic:

stony/irondad.

Mary Fitzpatrick, before she became Parker, had a fight with her boyfriend, broke up with him and then decided to have one night stand. Then, well, apparently birth control isn’t 100% effective. She decides to keep the baby, gets back together with Richard, he says he’s ready to support her and adopt the kid/say they’re his. But Mary thinks it’s a right thing to do to inform biodad, even though she doesn’t think anything will come of it.

Well. Not so fast.

Tony asks for the dna test, and after it comes positive they come to an arrangement. Richard is going to be an actual dad for the kid, and Tony will pay for stuff and be in contact. But, well, then he has to help them to make it to the hospital for the birth, and Peter’s born, and Peter’s an awesome baby. Tony thinks he’s never seen a baby that awesome.

Eventually it evolves in Tony being the cool uncle, who visits often, gives cool gifts, is a surprisingly good babysitter, kinda extremely anxious about how Peter react to vaccines and stuff… okay, he’s not cool in the slightest.

Then Mary & Richard die. Tony is very sure he’s a horrible parent, so he defers to Ben & May. But Peter knows him and loves him, and May and Ben wasn’t expecting a traumatized kid, so they need all the help, and eventually Tony becomes a third parent. They all bond. Tony & May chaotic brotp. Ben as the voice of reason. Pepper and Rhodey being auntie and uncle. They make a family, and Tony stops drinking that much, he’s happier, he’s doing better.

(He actually starts to ask Obadiah uncomfortable questions and change his thoughts about the direction SI is going and oh obviously that need to stop, Obadiah thinks, ordering a hit on him. At least he didn’t change the will to the kid, and the kid is officially not his. There no need to tie those ends.)

(I have a family, he says in the quiet of the cave. I have a son.)

Iron Man is a challenge. Tony needs to be alive for Peter, but he also needs for the world to be safe — for Peter. And he needs to have a legacy that he’s not ashamed of. May is angry with him (she is worried). Ben quietly supports him.

When he finds out about the poisoning, Tony goes on vacation. Some distant island, nobody there but their family. He lies and lies and lies, and tells many dad jokes, and cries at night looking at Peter’s sleeping form.

He survives.

In 2012 Parkers watch him flowing into the wormhole. May punches him really hard. Peter sleeps with Tony that night.

The Tower is a project to help Tony hide the family better: they have their own floor, and Peter lives there several days a week. It’s not that far from queens, and it’s sustainable enough so they wouldn’t need to spend time outside (and get caught by paparazzis). They have a family dinner once a week. It’s hard, sometimes, to hide the kid from the world — but Tony didn’t want him to have a childhood similar to his own. Plus, all the supervillains.

But then. There’s avengers. And it becomes complicated.

(A subplot when everyone thinks that Tony’s dating Pepper, then May, then both of them — is he cheating? What’s going on?

In reality Tony hasn’t got laid in a long long time and both Pepper and May are very mean to him about it. Look, he has SI, Iron Man, and a kid. When the fuck will he date?)

Him & Steve are better after the saving-the-world together, but it’s still awkward and tense. Plus, well. Steve doesn’t get why Tony tends to disappear sometimes/has some time slots when he can’t come to the important meetings. It’s not a SI thing, so Steve thinks he’s slacking.

(In reality, Tony refuses to be a father to busy to spend time with his kid)

They bicker about it constantly. Tony never says the real reason. It’s tense. May hears once their arguing and tries to punch Steve in the face, because she’s ridiculous protective of Tony (like an older sibling). Steve’s very confused. Tony’s very done. Pepper and Ben are amused.

But the relationship between Steve and Tony is stale and complicated and full of animosity. (Maybe add some ust in the mix.)

Until, well. There’s some supervillain, and Tower’s attacked while Peter was inside, and he’s fine, he didn’t even notice it happening, but still. Tony is scared. Steve has never been more attracted to anyone in his life. (He has a little freak out. Apparently he’s into dilfs. Who knew.)

Then it’s a lot of pining Steve, oblivious Tony and adorable Peter who says stuff like Tony (bc Richard was dad, Tony is Tony), auntie Pepper said you’re cranky because you need a boyfriend. Uncle Steve, do you want to be his boyfriend?

Snarry. The Chosen Prince. Mr. Sass and Mr. Snark. The ship of my soul. Oh how I adore them!

Genuinely, there is too much I love about them, and I feel like I talk about them ad nauseum. But I can't help it!! The angst, the drama, the scandal, the taboo, the baggage, the tension, the potential!!!! There's so much there to play with!!!!

They were also my introduction to shipping near twenty years ago. Wee lil 11 year old Danni played with Google for hte first time, stumbled into an explicit Drarry fic, and stumbled out with a curiosity for Snarry, which turned into a lifelong passion! They're where my heart is, and where I always return to, wherever else I explore in my life. Other ships, other fandoms, but I always come home to Snarry. (Cuz they're soulmates.) (No, you cannot convince me otherwise.)

Dean Winchester/Castiel

Destiel!! Ahh!! Wow what a throwback even typing the name is. Listen, Wincest does not scare me, okay? I read Flowers in the Attic when I was like 8 okay? And while I've read the odd Wincest...it just didn't do it for me. I'm not a big Sam Girl, really. But I am a Dean Girl. And when Cass came onto the scene?? I fell HARD for that angel, let me tell you! And is as natural for a gal who played with Barbies, I saw my two faves and wanted to smush their mouths together.

Plus...c'mon. The human (Hunter) and the angel???? How fun! Also: the potential for internalized homophobia?? I've read many a Destiel fic with that and my golly do I eat that up like candy. Also: a Destiel series introduced me to the concept of "demisexuality" which led me on a years'-long journey to learning about the asexuality spectrum and learning more about myself! (The Writing on the Wall, it's called, for those curious.)

STONY! SUPERHUSBANDS! OH WOWEE. The first ship besides Snarry I ever wrote!

For starters, we're back on my "smushing my faves' faces together" bs. Cuz my Top 3 Marvel heroes are: Captain America, Iron Man, and Spiderman. Judge me all you want, the heart wants what the heart wants. And my heart wants Steve and Tony to make sweet love and adopt Peter Parker.

Also: our handsome boy scout + the rebellious playboy?? Weird family connections with Steve having known Howard Stark. Also: another potential for internalized homophobia! (It feels really wrong to be so excited about that potential, but listen....I grew up in the Bible belt. Let me deal.) Steve being the man in charge and Mr. Goody-Goody, and Tony forever wanting to butt heads and rub off the Golden Boy's golden shine. Glorious. Much potential for angst and challenging dysfunctional dynamics which I am super here for.

Izuku Midoriya/Katsuki Bakugou

BAKUDEKU. My sweet cinnamon roll and our angry boi. Such fun! Midoriya is such a sweetheart. Bakugou screams a lot. Clearly a match made in heaven. Lots of name calling (looking at you Bakugou) and emotional constipation (again: Bakugou.) Strong brave bois being very heroic and sexy. Also:....I love them both. And want them to kiss.

They're also the ship where even when I'm not actively seeking them out, if a Bakudeku art or story looks interesting: I'm clicking! I'm really behind in MHA. And I've never actively read in the fandom. But if I see it and it looks good, I'M IN. Which is just odd for me, but ah well.

Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham.

Been cruising thru your Steve/Tony fics (and loved them so far) and I was curious! When did you start shipping them? And what do you find most compelling about them as a ship? Have a nice day!

Thank you for the question!

I started shipping them a few months after Endgame came out. I was actually planning a different story for a different ship after I watched Infinity War (it was my take on the sequel, but it didn't get off the ground before Endgame came out). The entire structure of the fic was about second chances, missed opportunities, and what you would do if you had a chance to rewrite everything to regain what you lost with the knowledge that you would have to give up what you had built since. Would you still do it? Stony wasn't even the focus of the fic. (This would have been a Kraglin/Nebula story with past relationships being Nebula/Mantis and Yondu/Kraglin. It would have followed “Highway to Hell” and “Lonely With You.”) Each chapter involved the surviving characters going back and trying to intercept an Infinity Stone before Thanos could get it. Basically, I had planned for Steve and Tony to go to Vormir, and for Steve to end up sacrificing himself to get another Soul Stone with Tony as the survivor. They were supposed to have romantic history prior to Civil War with this last trip being where they sort of reconcile but also realize their time together had passed and there was no rekindling of what had been.

In preparation for the Soul Stone chapter, I read some Stony fics to get a sense of the characters, and... well, I realize I have a type when it comes to OTPs. I am just really really into pairings where one character betrays the other on behalf of a third character with which one of the pairing has a deep, entirely-platonic-but-equally-important bond. Bonus points if one or both of them is dead, so canon reconciliation is impossible. This was what I liked about Kraglin/Yondu+Peter Quill, and that’s what I like about Tony/Steve+Bucky. It’s Steve’s deep friendship with Bucky and the events of Civil War that makes Stony compelling to me. There’s a lot of emotional potential there.

Plus, during Endgame, I loved how Tony checked out Steve’s ass.

WIP Update - 1 Feb 2024

Been on vacation for the last 2+ weeks (since Jan 13th) so got very little writing done. Over the past 3 weeks I touched 6 fics ( 2 WIPs & 4 new works) for a total of 890 words.

* A4 - Touch Attention/Denial - posted Fill Me Up With Your Love last Friday. It also fills (heh) my Stucky Bingo KINK - Double Penetration square. It’s PWP with Tony and Bucky double-teaming Steve and came in at 1613 smutty words.

* A5 - Pirate - Thimbles and Acorns was a last minute fill - I was inspired by a ride on Peter Pan’s Flight at WDW to dash off a quick pre-war Stucky fic where a childhood memory leads to a love confession

* B2 - Mile High Club - Posted chapter 2 of Never Have I Ever (But I Want To With You), picking up with Tony’s POV after the events of Chapter One. It crosses over with TSB Tony’s Poor Life Choices and came in at 820 words (1820 total for the fic)

* C5 - “You get hurt, hurt ‘em back. You get killed … walk it off.” - I combined this with a Tumblr writing prompt “things you said I wish you hadn’t” (requested by @gayspacesprinkles) for The Things You Said I Wish You Hadn’t - post-mission fic with Clint angst and vaguely hinted at Clint/Steve. It came in at 245 words.

* D5 - Long Distance Relationship - posted Not Too Far Down the Tracks as a crossover Flash Fiction Friday Prompt Late Night Train. It’s a Stony College AU ficlet that I added onto to squeeze my TSB Doing Groceries square into. It came in 411 words.

Stuckony Valentine Cards Event [Ends 10 Feb]

* K5 - Protectiveness -- using this for the third (and probable final) chapter of my Stony Western AU WIP Come Down From Your Fences (And Open the Gate)

Stucky Bingo Round Four [SB_R4] (Ends 31 May 2023

Nine fills and one WIPs with a couple of other vague ideas.

* B1 - Mutual Pining - no specific idea, but it’s so On Brand for me I’m sure I’ll come up with something! (maybe the Centerfold fic idea I’ve been toying with)

* O4 - AU: Supernatural - got inspired by a dream to start a Stucky fantasy AU (magician!Steve/ensorcelled!Bucky) that @bill-longbow is collaborating on with me. We’re currently sitting at 1640 words (984-ish of which are mine). Will probably continue on this sometime in February. Current Last Line: "My men will accompany you back to Brookline in the morning.”

I also adopted the Writing Format: Remix one of your fics square – am thinking of taking one of my Stony or WinterIron No Powers fics and adapting it to a Stucky pairing – if you have any requests - hit me up!

Finally, I am prepping for a superhero con in March and another con in June so am pretty well booked up through spring/early summer.

Prompt idea:

Peter is the favorite waiter at the local restaurant who the mob owns.

Maybe one day he switched his schedule up and once the mob/team finds out they are kinda pissed. They have a routine. When they ask where he is they are told he got a 2nd job, needed the money. Turns out Peter has taking up stripping for extra.

Now the mob/team have another hang out watching Peter til they can convince him to stop dancing and to become there's.

New Books Covers (Part 2!!)

(Part One Here)

Stetsons and Schoolteachers. I went classic with this cover, nothing too fancy but still easily recognizable. SAS was my first "Real" Stony fic, the first time I wrote Alpha!Steve (but 10000% not the last I love him) and my first attempt at a super tropey western romance. I re read this one at least once every few months, the side pairings of Sam/Clint and BuckyNat are just incredible.

Time Falls Away. Book One in my Time Travel Trilogy. I went with a pocketwatch motif on all three books both as a reference to time passing and of course, to reference Steve's iconic pocketwatch. Time Falls Away has letters for the times Winteriron wrote to each other when they were separated, and dried flowers for the ones Bucky brought Tony their first time together.

No Time Between Us. Another pocket watch, but this one lost in sand (the sands of time??) and dusty, dirty, maybe forgotten. Meant to represent just how far Stony was from each other in this book and how Bucky felt out of reach entirely behind the Winter Soldier mask.

Time Stands Still. A pocket watch of course, but also an hourglass filled with sand to signify the extra time Stuckony was given to find each other again. A notebook for all reminders Bucky wrote himself so he could feel human again. Keys for the cabin in the hills they all come home.

Tbh these three covers together just give me goosebumps.

In From the Cold. My one and only Post CACW Stuckony fic. The constant themes of being cold due to grief and heartache in this book contrasted with how fragile and tentatively beautiful a winter/struggle/journey can be? EXCELLENT.

One Reason Why. This is maybe my most OOC Spideypool fic ever, but it's still just a really beautiful story. I just recently re read it and goddamn do I love to see the crumbs of who #NCTS Spideypool became even in this very very early fic. PLUS it's the first time I let my biting/collar kink out into the Omegaverse and we all know how well that's turned out for the rest of my fics lmaoooo.

Love the contrast in this cover. The less fancy crown next to the sword and the "baggage" representing Wade and how he didn't want the title of Prince or King, how he lived in violence before finding Peter and how he came with so much angst and heartbreak and had to very slowly open up to his Omega mate. And then of course, Peter's crown is fancy and femme and bejeweled, laying against one of the thousands of books he owns, draped in the jewelry he loves to wear.

Last but not least, More Than Words. If ORW is my most OOC Spideypool fic, I feel like MTW is my most IN character Spideypool fic. Who Wade and Peter are in this story, their history and how they move through time to find each other, how they fall in love and find all these new ways to love each other and protect each other. Ughhhhh it's literally gorgeous.

I went with the same type motif for MTW that I did for PH-- Book One is less bright, the cabin is smaller and the woods are a little more menacing to reflect how Spideypool struggles, then Book Two is brighter, warmer, they are still home in their cabin in the woods but life is literally golden.

Tony has read those words on his skin over and over so often that he feels like they are indeed etched on his soul, not just his upper thigh. They’re the last words his soulmate will ever speak to him, and sure, he’s grateful they’re not the typical goodbye that seventy percent of the world bears on their bodies somewhere.

Bet Your Ass (Peter Quill/Reader) // “What is your problem, Quill? By the Gods!”

Happy Val (Steve Rogers/Reader) It’s all a little ‘While You Were Sleeping’ to you, this absurd crush you have on the handsome lawyer that periodically shows up at the coffee shop.

The Sacrifice Play (Stony) // “I figured it out.”

The sigh and slow turn Rogers makes to face him tells Tony everything about how close he is to losing his temper. “What have you figured out, Tony?”

Seems that Rogers doesn’t use his first name unless he’s angry, and it’s so close to Howard Stark’s approach to parenting that Tony ramps up even further.

“That witch sent you something that chaps your morals, didn’t she? And I know what it is.”

Ephemera (Steve Rogers/Reader) // Your art is different now. Everyone’s is.

The project angers some people, but that’s not your problem. Everyone deals with the decimation their own way, and yours is particularly bare.

Build Me a Cocoon So I Can Crawl Inside Your Love (Tony Stark/gn!Reader) // Tony’s back from the specialist’s appointment he didn’t want to let you come along for, and he looks really discouraged.

Plus One (Tony Stark/Reader) // Attending Tony Stark’s 40+1 birthday bash is not what you’d been planning to do when you came to L.A.

Just Right (Steve Rogers/Reader) // You simply can’t believe this is happening.

Fifteen minutes ago, while you were going over proposed alterations to Sam Wilson’s Falcon suit, a person who looked exactly like Steve Rogers walked through the wall right beside you.

Animate Objects (Day Eight) (Stephen Strange/OC) // As one of the hundreds of workers who had moved to New York following the alien attack on the city, Amy Cairn had seen more than one absurd thing during those six months of clean-up. Enormous alien carapaces with oddly-glowing, indestructible armor plating? Sure. Literal Star-Wars-style pods that arced through the air until their connection to the mothership was severed? Okay.

Figures of Speech (Toby Ziegler/OC) // In the grand scheme of things, being in your mid-thirties and in love with a politician twice your age wasn’t the worst of life decisions, but it was close. Especially if you’d never actually met the guy.
